The simple phrase seems to follow concepts related to death throughout the first half of the
novel, and the melancholic and casual tone of the phrase parallel with the idea that death is
something to gloss over and not emphasize with. This idea by nature is comforting. It allows
anybody to ignore deaths and view them as unimportant. This comforting way of thinking
simultaneously places the reader into the psyche of Billy Pilgrim and his mentality. The phrase

Introduction For this lab the experiment was to test how effective the antibiotic properties were in
four substances. The hypothesis that I conducted for this lab was that if the disks containing the
substances had a zone of inhibition then the antibiotic effect could be measured and compared.
The part that would be measured is the diameter of the zone if inhibition. The independent
variables would be the substances (P 10, S 10, C 30, and TE 30) and the dependent would be the

We measured the greatest diameter for each substance which told us the zone of inhibition. To
measure each we used a ruler and measured the diameters in millimeters. After recording each zone
of inhibition we copied our results onto the board and compared out answers to other classmates.
After comparing the results we then copied all the data onto a table and calculated the mean for
each substance plus the control. When we completed the table we then calculated the percent of
difference and placed the results into a table by using the means. After doing so, we created a graph
that illustrated the mean zone of inhibition for each one of the substances.
Results
In order to compare the difference of each substance we had to calculate the percent of
difference for each substance. The control vs the P 10 was calculated to be 65% which was the
lowest percent. The next substance which was not as high was the TE 30, when compared to the
control it was 123%. One substance that was higher was S 10, when it was compared to the
control it was calculated to be 145%. The biggest difference was C 30, when this substance was
compared to the control it was 239%.

Even after people know what these substances can and will do to their body, people keep taking
it and in the process, they slowly destroy their bodies every day just so they can feel good for
some number of hours. Some of those people get so addicted they lose jobs, friends, homes and

down tissues there and other body parts and can lead to serious or even fatal diseases. I could go
all eternity without ever smoking or doing any drugs of any kind and never be bothered about it.

break down their bodies and causes diseases for them later in their life. Smoking causes 90% of
deaths from lung cancer, around 80% of deaths from COPD, and around 17% deaths from heart
disease. Sadly, most people don t realize the damage just one cigaret can have on your body.
Every drag you take on the cigaret raises you blood pressure and heart rate. Teenagers that smoke
at the age of 15 are three times more likely to die from cancer than someone who starts smoking
in their mid 20s. For this reason, smoking as a teen can permanently damage your body and
smoking can even kill young adults or give them intense diseases later on in their life.
