How Does Shirley Jackson Use Foreshadowing In The Lottery
They call it the lottery, but this isn t just any lottery! The Lottery, a short story by Shirley Jackson,
is about a town in the 1950s. The townspeople have a tradition that they call the lottery, which is
actually a sacrificial stoning. They have this tradition because they are crazy and they think that it
helps the crops grow; without it there would be no food. In The Lottery, Shirley Jacksonuses
foreshadowing to add to the shock factor of the terrible ending. In the beginning of the story, the
author uses brief foreshadowing when she describes boys gathering rocks while other people
gather in the townsquare for the lottery. The author writes, Bobby [Martin] and Harry Jones and
Dickie Delacroix...eventually made a great pile of stones

Alcohol Consumption Of Underage College Students
Method
Participants
Approximately 150 college students will participate in the proposed study, 75 males and 75
females. The participants will range from 18 to 21 years of age. Participants will be in equal
amounts from each residence hall in the University of Houston which underage students reside in
as well as off campus residents. The group criteria will be limited to students under the age of 21
with equal amounts of males and females. Participation in the study will be voluntary. The
incentive for this study is if they choose to participate, then they will receive a gift card. The
proposed study will attempt to observe the difference between the alcohol consumption of residents
of on campus
Design
The study will be an experimental between subjects design. There will be one independent variables
and it will have two levels. The independent variable will be the residency type of the student (On
campus and Off campus). The residency type will be determined through a survey before choosing
the participants. The dependent variable will be the alcohol consumption. Alcohol consumption
will be tested through ETG testing.
Procedure
Participants will be voluntary and brought in with the incentive of receiving a gift card at the end
of the study. There will be 150 participants; 75 males and 75 females, all under 21. The large
number of participants reduces the amount of variability and gives a more accurate portrayal of
underage college students. A survey will be given to

The trans Saharan trade network changed Northern and Western Africa from an isolated hunting

Islamic empires and city states.
Hunting or gathering societies were the oldest form of social organization in the world began in

and were known as stateless societies. Africa grew from these nomadic societies to a major trade

The Lynching By Claude Mckay
The Lynching Analysis Chloe Chrysikopoulos How to Read a Poem ARTL 100 October 31, 2014
As Ida B Wells said, Our country s national crime is lynching. It is not the creature of an hour, the
sudden outburst of uncontrolled fury, or the unspeakable brutality of an insane mob. Claude
McKay in his sonnet The Lynching describes the gruesome reality of a lynching and how it is not
the creature of an hour, the sudden outburst of uncontrolled fury... but simply white men, women,
and children who carried out this act of cruelty and celebrated it without remorse. McKay uses
various sounds and rhythmic devices to reflect the intensity of the horrific images depicted. The
sound devices combined with the symbolism, allusion, and dark imagery illustrate the violent
crimes committed against the African Americans. This poem was published in 1922 after slavery
had ended however hatred and violence toward African Americans continued. This sonnet is about
a lynching and the attitude of the white population. The first quatrain explains what happens to the
victim after the lynching. McKay uses the words spirit, heaven, and father to describe the
religious experience of the victim after his death (lines 1 2). The author portrays the lynched man
as a Christ like figure who ascended to high heaven and is welcomed by God, his father. And at the
same time God rejects the white men, women, and children who were lynchers because their awful
sin remained still

Logical Fallacies And Decision Making
Most arguments, whether intentional or otherwise contain some sort logical fallacy. It can be
deceptive in its nature or it can be an honest misconception, caused by the party s inability to
present an effective argument because it does not thoroughly understand the logical result of the
relationship between premises. Although it is not easy to memorize the many forms and terms of
logical fallacies, it is crucial identify any inconsistencies within the premise conclusion of someone

Identifying logical fallacies makes us better thinkers and decision makers. Especially in the present

Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum s Art Collection
The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum s art collection blends history and culture to aesthetically
define a single individual: Isabella Stewart Gardner. From the Mosaic Floor: Medusa of the inner
courtyard, to The Coronation of Hebe (Paolo Veronese) on the ceiling of the third floor Veronese
Room, Gardner determined every inch of both the interior and exterior of the structure housing her
personal collection of masterpieces. This museum was specifically designed to resemble a 15th
century Venetian palazzo, inspired from the city that captured Gardner s heart and ultimate vision
of her legacy (Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum). Assisted by Renaissance revival architect,
Willard T. Sears, the palazzo like structure was realized in its full glory, albeit Renaissance
ornamentation had no logical place in early 20th century Boston, Massachusetts. However, Isabella
Stewart Gardners fascination with the Renaissance was not solely because the works and buildings
were visually pleasing. A palazzo, for a wealthy family, was a lasting symbol of status. Gardner s
choice to create a museum inspired by this Renaissance structure demonstrates how this
Renaissance mindset can be translated into her modern context when crafting her own legacy.
The exterior of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is drastically more modest than the interior. In
the same fashion as the traditional palazzos of the Renaissance, the masonry is smooth and
understated. The flat roof resembles that of the Palazzo

Aristophanes Clouds Is A Social Commentary On The Nature...
Aristophanes Clouds is a social commentary on the nature of justice as it pertains to the
philosophic life within the city disguised as a crude theatrical comedy. The protagonist Strepsiades
is overcome by debt due to his son Pheidippides obsession with horsemanship, and Strepsiades
seeks the help of local philosopher Socratesin order to learn the art of deceptive speaking so that
he may trick his creditors and not give anyone back even an obol of those debts (120). Although the
play is filled with vulgar humor on the surface, Aristophanesuses the dialogue to examine the
dangers of the philosophical life and its effect on the city. Through the story of Strepsiades,
Aristophanes leads his audience to the conclusion that the philosophic life and those who partake in
it are a danger to the city because of their blatant disregard for the gods and the traditional customs
of Athens.
At the opening of the play, Strepsiades begins with an invocation to Zeus the King! (2). Upon
arrival to Socrates Thinkery, Strepsiades begs Socrates to teach him how to win both just and
unjust causes by speaking in order to have his debts forgiven without having to pay them back
(98), and swears by the gods that he will pay Socrates (246). However, Socrates informs
Strepsiades that Zeus does not even exist , nor do any other gods (367). Before this, Strepsiades
had acknowledged his fear of Zeus punishment and the thunderbolt that made him fear and tremble ,

Bulimia and Depression Essay
Bulimia and Depression
The prevalence of eating disorders among American women has increased dramatically in the past
decade. In turn, the psychological community has expanded it s scope of research and study by
focusing more attention on eating disorders and concentrating on other extended issues related to
eating disorders. The desire to distinguish and understand a possible relationship between bulimia
nervosa and depression has become a major focus within the field. The purpose of this paper is to
introduce the reader to literature from two different journal articles on this relationship.
How Are Bulimia and Depression Possibly Related?:
Presently, there are two predominant hypotheses on the relationship between bulimia ... Show more

to depressive symptomatology include negative automatic thoughts, dysfunctional attitudes, and

Therefore, there are connections between these two disorders. There is a link in the relationship
between bulimia and depression. Understanding this link is essential for treatment and therapy.
Article I Bulimia and Depression: A Review of the Affective Hypothesis :
Lisa Hinz and Donald Williamson (1987) reflect on the evidence presented in past studies relating
bulimia and depression and discriminate between the idea that bulimia is an affective variant of
depression or a separate diagnostic entity often associated with depression. In their attempt to
understand the relationship, the authors point out the complications that arise in an evaluation of
studies that deal with depression and other illnesses due to the common associations made between
the two. Hinz and Williamson (1987) state that evaluation of the affective variant hypothesis is
difficult because it is well established that depression accompanies many chronic psychiatric and

Viktor Frankl and the Development of Logotherapy
Viktor Emil Frankl was born on March, 26th 1905, at Czeringassa 7, in Leopoldstadt, in Vienna
Austria, where Sigmund Freud and Alfred Alder also grew up (Klingberg, 2014). He was the
middle child out of three children. His older brother, Walter was two and a half years older, and
his younger sister, Stella, was four years younger. His mother was Elsa Frankl, was a polish
woman from Prague with a gentle manner. His father, Gabriel Frankl, had been a hard working
man who was the Director of Social Affairs (Redsand, 2006). By the time Frankl was four years
old he knew he wanted to be a doctor and he pursued that interest while into high school. He took

He then developed what he called paradoxical intention. Paradoxical intention is a method which
encourages one to image themselves pushing into their fear rather than running from it, such as
a patient suffering from insomnia (Pg.112, Frankl, 2006). Instead of focusing on falling asleep
the patient would be asked to focus very hard on staying awake. The success of the paradoxical
intention is called dereflection, which is when the patient is focused back on the task. He met
his wife, Tilly Grossner, a nurse at the hospital, and they were married in 1941, and she was
pregnant shortly after. In 1942 he was granted a visa to the United States, which would get him
safely away from the concentration camps; however the visa was only good for him. He went to
his father who had a block of marble from the ruins of a burned down synagogue. The marble had
an etching of part of one of the Ten Commandments, which Viktor inquired about. The marble
represented the commandment Honor thy father and mother that thy days may be long upon the
land. (Pg.11, Frankl, 2006). Upon hearing this Viktor decided to stay with his family. The Nazis
had forced Tilly to have an abortion as Jews weren t allowed to have children (Redsand, 2006).
Frankl began working on a book titled The Doctor and the Soul and sewed it into his jacket to
keep it hidden. The manuscript was the basic fundamentals of his logotheory. In July of the same

Symptoms And Treatment Of Asthma
Background
Asthma is a perpetual, or long lasting, illness that could potentially be life threating. In the United
States of America, about 25 million people are known to have asthma[nhlbi]. About 7 million of the
25 million diagnosed with asthma are children[nhlbi]. Asthma can be described as the
inflammation, obstruction and hyperresposiveness of the airway.
Asthma might be classified as acute, sub acute or chronic inflammation of the airway. In asthma,
there is a spastic contraction of the smooth muscle in the bronchioles[gyton]. The presence of this
airway obstruction causes edema and mucus secretion. When there is an increased sensitivity to
irritating stimuli, bronchoconstriction occurs leading to hyperplasia of smooth muscle, hyper
secretion and dis modeling of the epithelium.
Anatomy of the Lung
The lung is located in the chest as part of the respiratory system. The respiratory systems consists of
the trachea, bronchi, lung, mediastinum, pleura and diaphragm. The left lung has two lobes, upper
and lower with a cardiac notch(where the heart is sits). The right lung on the other hand has three
lopes, upper, middle and lower lobes. The lungs is covered by the chest wall which is made up of
muscles and ribs. The mediastinum is the separation between the lungs and the other organs. The
diaphragm is the located below the lungs. This is a very thin muscle that provides a division for the
chest cavity from the abdomen. The

The book The Greatest Generation , by Tom Brokaw, is about the men and women who were born
in the 1920 s and how they are what he deems to be the greatest generation thus far. He believes this
generation is so tremendous because of the fact they did not demand respect for what they did and
went through. Though may sacrificed as much as their lives, they do not think higher of
themselves. Even through all their struggling they managed to have enough strength leave
everything behind and fight for their country. I believe Tom Brokaw is correct when he says they

cultural safety issues and ill health among Indigenous Australians. These media articles are the

putting Indigenous lives at risk
Key Issues
According to Indaily news article, racism has put Indigenous life in dangers in medical systems as
researched by Flinders University. As stated by Professor Dennis McDermott, from the Poche
Centre for Indigenous Health and Well Being at Flinders, due to lacks of cultural safety in medical
services and Health professionals, Indigenous people are stopping their hospital treatments earlier.
Professor McDermott has spoken in the Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses
and Midwives conference in Darwin. Some students are openly racist when he tries to educate them
on culturally appropriate ways to deal with Aboriginal patients.
This shows that people are in lack of education regarding cultural safety with health professionals
and within health system. Education has been acknowledged as a plan to tackle inequality to which
cultural education of undergraduate students and health professionals is successful in reducing
racism. This can ensure institutions and practitioners are delivering culturally respectful health

The Solution Of Plastics And Pollution
In today s time we are facing the problem of pollution, and dirty water, which is affecting our sea
life as well as human life. It is a concerning problem. And although many don t infact believe in
global warming, muck and smog is becoming a worsening problem as the years go on. If there is
any way to overall help to decrease the amount of pollution that is is being put out, it would be a
necessary option. the government is proposing a plastic bag fee that will range about 25 cents
for each plastic bag.The hopeful outcome of this would be to see people bring reusable bags
rather than paying for the 25 cent bag. Which would be a greater outcome in decreasing
pollution in some slice of a matter way. Essentially, eliminating plastic bags over time would be
necessary. If everyone were to use reusable bags to go shopping, we could seriously see a dent in
the pollution amount. Plastic is so bad for our planet, it does not biodegrade and it adds harsh
chemicals to our soil and water. Plastic can last in water for thousands of years, what can be
seen is disrupted marine life habitats, and well as poison wildlife due to the consumption of of
the chemically processed plastic. As well as seeing a increasing problem with our sea life and
even our wildlife we could see a concerning problem facing pollution of our soil, due to the
landfills that carry an enormous amount of plastic and littering that can be seen in larger areas.
Initially, what the theory is, is the chemicals of the

An Important Aspect Of Purchasing And Selling Goods Whether
An important aspect of purchasing and selling goods whether for trade or personal reasons is to
understand who bears the burden of damage to the goods. This is of great importance, but often
overlooked, determining when risk has passed from one party to the next establishes whether
the seller may still recover the full price of the damaged goods and the buyer be left with damaged
goods or not. In this short note we will briefly look at the consequences of not dealing with these
issues in your contract as well as some brief thoughts on how this may be avoided. WHAT DO WE
MEAN BY RISK PASSING AND WHEN DOES THIS HAPPEN? When we talk of the risk passing
to the buyer what is referred to is the burden of having to deal with the damaged goods.... Show

As such, in these types of contracts the risk does not pass until the goods described in the
contract are appropriated to the contract. That is, when the seller has set aside a specific 10
tonnes of maize to be bought by the buyer. Until the product has been appropriated to the
contract the seller is liable to replace the goods before they are entitled to the purchase price,
once they have been appropriated or distinguished the risk for damage passes to the buyer. What
if the sale is subject to a condition? For example suppose that the contract of sale for a buffalo
was made conditional on the buffalo being tested for, and being found free of, any disease (the
sale is suspended until the buffalo is found to be disease free) and the buffalo dies before this
can be determined. In situations like this the risk does not pass to the buyer until the condition
has been fulfilled. On fulfilment of the condition the risk becomes the buyers from the date of
conclusion of the sale. In the above scenario the risk has not yet passed to the buyer therefore the
seller bears the risk of the buffalo dying or being injured. The buyer does not have to pay the
price even when it is later determined that the buffalo was disease free. If the buffalo had been
injured or died after the condition was fulfilled (the vet finding that the buffalo was

Essay on John Adams and Thomas Jefferson
Relationship with One Another The relationship between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson was
one of the most iconic and symbolic relationships in American history not only for its many ups
and downs, but also for its great effects on the founding and governing of America. Thomas
Jefferson and John Adams met for the first time in 1775 and almost immediately developed a
friendly liking toward each other. For the first two decades of their friendship, Jefferson and Adams
constantly exchanged praises and affection to one another. Jefferson described Adams as so
amiable that anyone would love him if becoming acquainted. Adams also wrote to Jefferson that

This deepened conflicts between Republican Jefferson and Federalist Adams even more, for
Jefferson felt like John Adams deliberately did this to beat down and erase all the works of
Republicanism. Jefferson called this event a personal displeasure. [9] Even though Thomas Jefferson
won the repeal of Judiciary Act of 1801 one year later, the friendship between him and John
Adams was no longer. The dramatic friendship between Adams and Jefferson took another turn in
1812 when they finally listened to patriot and physician Benjamin Rush to reconcile their
relationship, which had been suggested and encouraged by Rush for the past three years.
Benjamin Rush also had a dream that Adams and Jefferson reconciled their friendship and died
almost at the same time.[10] First attempt to reconcile appeared in letters in 1813 when Jefferson
looked back at French Revolution and admitted that Adams had been right. In 1789, Adams had
envisioned that the French Revolution would be a long lasting and bloody war. He had also
predicted that the Great Britain would win the European supremacy over France. Both these
predictions later came to be true. Jefferson s acknowledgment of Adams correct anticipation was
unlike every bitter thing he had said about Adams before, which showed Jefferson s courage and
honesty in trying to understand Adams and restore their friendship.[11] In 14 years from 1812 to
1826, they exchanged 158 letters to one another.[12] Just like Benjamin Rush

Dehumanizing Death Penalty
The death penalty is proven to not deter criminals from committing a crime punishable by death.
There are many arguments on whether the death penalty should be legal, but the debate boils down
to personal morals. The death penalty is immoral. Criminals will act on their drive, with no thoughts
about future consequences. The death penaltynot only hurts the criminal, but it affects the criminal
s family. The family already had to experience what it felt like to see a loved one take an innocent
person s life. This causes emotional unnecessary emotional distress for the family and those close to
the person on death row. Murdering the criminal will only put the family through even more
unnecessary trauma. Furthermore, humans are not pets. The human race should not be able to put
others down in the sense of death. It is dehumanizing for the person sentenced to death and the
executioner. There should not be a job in the United States where, in the job description, it states

Bestiality In Jonas Liliequist s Peasant Against Nature
Throughout history, humans have maintained a relationship with animals. In some cultures,
animals have served as religious symbols and were worshipped by humans. As society progressed,
humans began to play the more dominant role. Animals began to serve as a source of food, trade,
transportation, and companion. With the frequent interaction between man and animals, boundaries
were eventually crossed. In Peasants against Nature, Jonas Liliequist discussed the excessive cases
of bestiality in seventeenth and eighteenth century Sweden and its inevitable occurrence. With his
various sources, Liliequist proposed that bestiality occurred due to the frequent interactions between
men and animals, lack of culture, sexual frustration, and basic curiosity.... Show more content on

that they condemned themselves by simply witnessing the impure acts (65). Those who
engaged in acts of bestiality were ostracized by society. No one wanted to be associated with
them. Wives did not want to engage in sexual relations with their husbands. Similarly, the bugger
s family did not want to share the same last name. No one wanted to touch the bugger or his
belongings (68). Likewise, the animals who were victims of the assailants were considered
impure. Their bodies were corrupted. Many owners chose to execute the animals because the milk
was no longer drinkable, and their meat no longer viable. However, it was considered illegal to
kill the animals until the trials. Despite being poor and resulting in an economic loss, farmers
chose to kill the impure animals in order to distances themselves as much as possible from the
bugger (71). Society ensured that those who performed inhuman acts, were treated as

Employee Morale Project
1.1 INTRODUCTION In every organization, people are working within a suitable environment of
attitudes. Each employee has attitudes that range over the entire spectrum of human behavior. All
managers have a constant concern for the morale of the group, which they lead. However,
considerable confusion prevails over the use of the term moralebecause of variation in defining
characteristics of the term.
In certain cases job satisfaction and morale is considered as individual concern; in other cases job
satisfaction is considered as individual phenomenon and morale as group phenomenon. From one
point of view, morale may be regarded essentially an individual matter. It s described in terms of

Essay about The Collected Poems of WB Yeats
Yeats, B. William. The Collected Poems of WB Yeats. New York: Macmillan, 1996. 318 The
importance of this book is that it contains some of the works of poetry which were carried out by
William Yeats. Arguably, the most salient feature in the book is the attempt at portraying the shift
that characterized Yeats in his work, so that his works are arranged almost chronologically to
underscore this standpoint. Works that depict him as a bard of the Celtic Twilight, reviving
Rosicrucian symbols and legends are the most frontal. These are followed up by works which
show the shift away from plush romanticism. The same are exhibited by the heavy presence of
incantatory rhythms such as I will arise and go... and go to Innisfree . The same is seen... Show

New York: WW Norton and Company, 1975. This poem was published in 1927 and comes out
as a form of meditation. The poem is rich in its scope as it covers sundry topics ranging from
children, to human behavior, life in the 20th century, the philosophy on life and life after death,
among others. This poem is an eight lined stanza which is heavily laden with rhymes and the use
of prosaic language. The poem has been written within the context of a visitor who has walked
into a classroom under the guidance of a kind elderly nun. The importance of this poem to this
reading is that in it, the poet addresses the dynamism that has shaped and continues to shape the
civil society, progress and modernity, as opposed to the status quo ante which predated the Civil
War or the Anglo Irish War. The importance of this poem to this reading is also seen in the fact
that it betrays the political ideals that Yeats had: the poem implicates the speaker as being a
senator. It is in after 1924 that Yeats served as a senator. This makes the poem sound like a poem
which was penned down after the civil war, given that it is written from the standpoint of a more
peaceful and politically stable Ireland. Thus, the poem is also instrumental as it lets the reader in
into Yeats political orientation and leanings. Thus, the many qualities Yeats had and the many
fields he operated in, in terms of career are well confirmed by this poem. The

Sherman Alexie Indian Discrimination
One should get to know a person before judging them because impressions are not always
accurate. In the novel, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, Junior experiences
racism on the Spokane Indian reservation and at Reardan, where Junior attends school. Racial
discrimination makes the Indians on the reservation lose their sense of self worth and they feel as
if they deserve to be treated this way. At Reardan, Junior is in an atmosphere where his white
classmates and teachers make racist jokes and nicknames targeting him. In the novel, The
Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, Sherman Alexie explains how prejudice and
discriminatory behaviour endorses negative relationships between people. This can be observed

Going into Reardan as an Indian, people thought of Junior differently and therefore treated him
differently. He is viewed differently because people believe that the whites are better and
wealthier than the Indians. Junior explains to his friend Gordy that ...some Indians think you
have to act white to make your life better. Some Indians think that you become white if you try to
make your life better, if you become successful (Alexie 132). Junior may be Indian physically,
but that does not mean that he does not have the same traits and should not be treated different
than any other white person at Reardan. Additionally, Junior s classmates started of thinking of
Junior as a weak individual because of his skin colour. Junior s classmates think it is alright to
call Junior names because of his physical appearance but weak and poor and scared, [Junior] let
them call [Junior] names while [Junior] figured out what to do..So [Junior] punched Roger in the

clearly proves how his physical appearance does not define his strength or power. Junior should be

Most pests are adapted for either outdoor or indoor living. However, when searching for a mate, an
easy meal, a secure place for depositing their eggs or a nurturing environment, outdoor pests will
sometimes find their way inside your home or business. Sometimes, these pests are temporary and
quickly return to the wild, but at other times, they find themselves too content to leave. Pest control
professionals refer to these types of pests as occasional invaders. In Florida, you might find yourself
contending with the following occasional invaders.
Earwigs
Earwigs are small; adults usually have a body length of about 0.5 inch. Their legs are light brown,

When agitated or threatened, they can emit a very foul smelling spray. Palmetto bugs prefer warm,
humid climates, so when they wander indoors, they typically shelter in unused or infrequently
used areas; you may find them in utility rooms or around water heaters. Outdoors, they tend to
make their homes in the holes of trees, under piles of leaves or beneath boards. In color, they are
dark brown with black hues, but if they have molted recently, they may appear reddish brown.
Other Occasional Invaders
There are several different types of ants that may invade your home or business, but in Florida, the
most common types are carpenter ants, red imported fire ants, pharaoh ants and pavement ants.
Because different types of ants require different treatments, it is always best to consult a reputable,
experience pest control company if ants invade.
A few types of spiders prefer to make their permanent homes inside human structures, but outdoor
spiders sometimes come inside to look for a mate or when food is in short supply. In Florida, the
most common outdoor spiders that may occasionally invade are jumping spiders, wolf spiders
and black widows; there have been a few isolated instances of brown recluse spiders reported. Of
these four types, only the black widow and the brown recluse pose any health

The Role Of A Superintendent Within A School District
Introduction Much of this clinical experience has been examining the specific role of a
superintendent within a school district. I found that the reflections as part of the weekly journal to
of particular interest and benefit as I examined he Guiding Questions for this final synthesis essay.
Interestingly, my colleagues in this course found these reflectionsnot to be beneficial. During one of
our class meetings it was noted that these were not a beneficial exercise and that reflectionwas not
needed. To that, I would counter that reflection s always needed but it is often the easiest item to
overlook. In our hectic administrative world, it is easy to become buried in Administrivia. Often
we do not event take a moment to move from one crisis to the next. Reflection is the only way we
can halt the inexorable march to the end. I for one, was pleased that we were asked to reflect on
each week. I took this as an opportunity to examine the actions of the superintendentand, in a risk
free environment, provide my perspective on the positive or negative actions observed or
experienced. Hopefully the observations and judgments in those weekly journals remain an
academic exercise and not a communique to my superintendent. As I re read the journal entries and
focus them with the lens of the guiding questions, I have some final thoughts about my
qualifications and idiosyncrasies that may come into play if ever I was afforded the honor of being
a superintendent.

The Loss Of His Mother In The Prelude By William Wordsworth
In this essay I hope to uncover the many instances that William Wordsworth inconspicuously places
his mother into The Prelude and to explore the multimodal occurrence of paternal loss throughout
the text. Although both of Wordsworth s parents perished while he was young in years, it seems
that his mother, Ann Wordsworth, was the greatest influencer of his poetic artistry. The loss of Ann
Wordsworth can be said to be a defining point in the young William Wordsworth
s life, and have had
more of an impact on him than the loss of his father. If any of Wordsworth s poetic artistry came
from the influence of the loss of his parents, it was most likely from the anger he felt towards his
mother s desertion of him and his siblings, rather than the guilt that he associated with his father s
death.
Wordsworth is a poet of nature, a poet of morality. Scholar Eugene Stelzig explores this idea more
throughout his article, Wordsworth s bleeding spots: Traumatic memories f the absent father in The
Prelude. Stelzig states that at the same time as being the poet of morality, Wordsworth is also, a
poet of human continuity, of growth and development. (533) Stelzig s word choice relates to The
Prelude as a whole, rather than each book in sections. The main reasoning for the autobiographical
content within the psuedo epic is to transcribe the history of what made William Wordsworth into
the poet that he was and that he is viewed as. This allows the poem to act as a palimpsest. Revision

The advice given to leaders by Machiavelli in The Prince is still relevant today. The life of the
current leader of Russia, Vladimir Putin shows us in many ways that the advice is still relevant.
Vladimir Putin was born on October 7, 1952 in Leningrad, Russia, which is now St. Petersburg.
Putin studied law at Leningrad State University and then served as a foreign intelligence officer
for the KGB for fifteen years. Putin reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 1990 and then

Presentation of self outline Essay
Critical appreciation: Erving Goffman; The presentation of self in everyday life.
Erving Goffman was one of the most important Sociologists in the 20th century who focussed his
study on aspects of social life. It is often argued that Goffman was one of the twentieth century s
most remarkable practitioners of social science (Smith, 2006:1). He was born on the 11th June
1922 in Alberta, Canada. His parents were Jewish and part of the group of Ukrainians who moved
to Canada before the beginning of the First World War. Initially Goffman studied Chemistry before
moving to the University of Toronto to study Anthropology and Sociologywhere he gained an

He also implies how an individual will be focussed on making a favourable show of him (a good
impression) which gives another explanation to why humans can be seen as actors in situations of
social interaction, they act how they think the audience (observers) want them to act. To summarise
his chapter on presentation Goffman s primary assumption is that individuals differ not by their
specific qualities, but by the situations they find themselves in to which they adopt different roles to
perform for the observer .
For this work Goffman gained inspiration from his own personal experiences, as his wife
struggled with mental illness and he chose to travel to the Shetland Islands to study the
interaction in their society. His wife s illness may have shaped his argument as another key
piece of his work was Asylums where he carried out fieldwork in a hospital where he wished to
look at the social world of an inmate. In his findings he was very critical and stated how
behaviour that was deemed out of the ordinary was simply someone not conforming to the rules
and expectations of society. If those rules or norms/values are broken that person would be
viewed as an outsider and therefore displays an inability to play the role of an actor .
A key theorist behind his work is Herbert Mead who published a book Mind, Self and Society and
he looked at the experiences of human beings and

Mrs Dalloway Bipolar Disorder Essay
A superficial interpretation might claim that the conspicuous fluctuating of feelings in Mrs.
Dalloway indicates bipolar disorder, especially since the most extreme example of this condition is
warren smith the shell shocked world war I veteran whose insanity, disastrous search for medical
treatment, eventual suicide occupy part of the novel.
Once Woolf chose to combine the two separate stories, with the loss of unity this would imply,
she must dramatize the split in structure and make a virtue out of it. The contrast between the
minds of Clarissa and Septimus is but one way; another is the split within the characters
themselves. Septimus is a schizophrenic, in the common (although not the medical) view, a split
personality; and he alternates between normal and abnormal behavior. Clarissa is divided in
another way; she is born under Gemini, the sign of the twins, indicated by Woolf s mention that
she had just broken into her fifty second year With this Gemini or twin motif, Woolf was able to
accomplish several things: achieve a balance between the two characters and story lines which fall
into place as twin stories and use the motif as a basis for a complicated network of ... Show more

Snyder s 300 Hyperbole
Film is a source of entertainment for thousands of people, however it can also be seen as modern
poetry. Two examples of poetry in film is Snyder s 300 (2006) and Weir s Gallipoli (1981),
Both films have a theme of War one that glorifies it and the other denounces it. Despite the films
being different in genre and mood, both films have strong poetic devices such as hyperbole,
symbolism and repetition.
During Snyder s 300 many forms of hyperbole were used to portray the Glory of War which is
the main theme for the film. An example of hyperbole, which is noticeable throughout the entire
film, is the enhanced colouring to make the figures and scenes appear like a graphic novel. This
is because the original story line was based on Frank Millar s 300 graphic novel series. The end
half of the movie used exaggerated features more often, from the beast like features on Persia s
fighters to Leonidas war cry nearing the end of the final battle. The directors have used this poetic
device to create a stronger sense of emotion for the film.
Weir s Gallipoli had less hyperbole than Snyder s 300, however still used many of the basic aspects
to make the film a form of poetry. When hyperbole was used in the film is was usually before the

Mahatma Gandhi Philosophy
During the period of British colonies in India, Mahatma Gandhi (1869 1948) led his community to
protest against its harsh policies. Gandhi played an important role as a political figure and
primarily as a social reformer in political movements. The Father of the Nation established and
employed his philosophy including satyagraha, swaraj, and ashima in Indian nonviolent civil
disobedience. In this period, Gandhi s decision to be celibate and to adopt Bramacharya was
consistent with his political philosophy.
While Gandhi was well known as a political leader, he was primarily a social reformer. Through
power of a political figure, he could reform Indian society. First reason, his philosophy originated
from his childhood. It matured gradually until he took political activities at his middle age. In his
childhood, She impressed him most with her spirit of self sacrifice. As a devout Hindu in pursuit

with Gandhi s later commitment as a political activist to the emancipation of women (6). At age of
eighteen, he learnt to be tolerant of other religions. The syncretic spirit of Hinduism helped him to

during each lesson by accurately answering my assessment questions or showing me that he

History And History Of Feminism
Feminism. So, what is Feminism and how did it begin? By definition, Feminism is the political,

the belief that all sexes deserve to be treated as equals regardless of any physical and biological

The history. The term itself originated from, socialist, Charles Fourier, back in the 1890s. Various
historians believe that the history of the Feminist Movement had three waves. The First Wave
began in the 19th and 20th century in the United States and the United Kingdom. This first wave
had more to do with obtaining political power and abolishing the norm of treating women as

against rape victims, and victim blaming reinforces this type of mentality. According to the Rape,
Abuse, and Incest National Network statistics, only a third sexual assaults are reported to the

Victims are often terrified of the prejudice that comes with stepping forward and reporting the case.
The Feminism Movement has helped empowered a large number of women to put an end to this

Similarly enough, Harry also faces an opponent rivaling for the Deathly Hallows, and it is none

the same amount of value into whatever the hero and villain are fighting for. Furthermore, the

Walmart, Dollar General, And Family Dollar
From my own experience, the three companies that could learn lessons from this case study are
Walmart, Dollar General, and Family Dollar. To me, these three companies could all use a lot of
help when it comes to product placement and meeting their customer needs (O Brien Marakas,
2011, p. 419 420). This brings me to the lessons to be learned from this case study. The use of the
simulation technology of the virtual store environments is a brilliant concept. It is fast becoming a
common practice among consumer product manufacturers and retailers (Breen, 2017). It is faster
and more cost efficient than the traditional in store product testing. It also allows a company to get
a more accurate feel of the total shopping experience, just as if they were the... Show more content

If I owned those stores and I walked in them and took a look around, I would fire every district
manager I had for letting the employees get away with the mess those stores stay in. I would not
fire the store employees because I would have to shut all of the stores down. However, the
district managers should have been making them do their jobs. I have never in my life seen such
a mess. The store organization is awful, you do not have to worry about product placement
because it is usually on the floor or still in the boxes or who knows where. The executives of that
company really could learn a lot from the store simulators I believe. I personally do not know
how some of their stores keep their doors open. We have one in particular here in Lexington, that
should have shut its doors years ago. They never have enough help, there is never anything on the
shelves, and the store is always nasty. If the executives of these two companies could open the
doors to the store simulator built by the Kimberly Clark Corp I Truly believe they would make
many changes in management within their

Constitutional Rights Assignment 3 Essay
Constitutional Rights
Turrochelle McEachern
Introduction to Public Policy/ PAD 525
8/22/2014
Professor Dr. Timothy Smith
This report reviews and analyzes individual rights afforded by the constitution and their
applicability to the suit for wrongful termination in the case of Korb versus Raytheon. The specific
constitutional rights under review are the freedom of speech, freedom of information and challenges
associated with employment law. Lawrence Korb, a former Assistant Secretary of Defense and
current employee of Raytheon, a large equipment manufacturing company for the U.S. military was
terminated after making public statements criticizing defense spending and calling for a reduction
of Navy s fleet. Raytheon, a manufacturer of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That business decision was not an interference with any secured rights under the first amendment of
the constitution. Although Korb is free to express whatever opinions he wishes, his employer,
Raytheon does not have to pay him to do so.
There is a distinct contrast in the freedom of speech rights of an employee of a private corporation
and the freedom of speech rights of an employee of the government. The Massachusetts Supreme
Court opinion in the Korb case reminds us of the famous dictum of Oliver Wendell Holmes in an
1892 Massachusetts case that involved a policeman who was a member of a political committee and
who solicited money for that committee. The policeman was then discharged from the police
department. The ex policeman petitioned the court for restoration of his employment. The
Massachusetts Supreme Court ruled that the petitioner may have a constitutional right to talk
politics, but he has no constitutional right to be a policeman (Rbs2.com, 2000). There are few
employments for hire in which the employee does not agree to suspend his constitutional rights of
free speech as well as of idleness by the implied terms of his contract. The employee cannot
complain, because he freely accepts the employment on the terms which are offered to him.
Analyze and explain any challenges with freedom of information.
In the United States, freedom of the press and the broader freedom of speech are protected by the

Curious Case of Benjamin Button Essay
When directors choose to adapt a novel or short story to fit the silverscreen, they often face the
arduous task of keeping the author s original plot in tow as well as, putting forth a believable
product. In the case of Scotts Fitzgerald s short story, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,
director, David Fincher and screenwriter, Eric Roth chose to scrap the original framework of the
story and start anew. Although Fincher and Roth keeps the basic idea of Benjamin Button s
existence the same, their screen adaption tells a more sincere version of how it would feel to live
life in reverse. However, both the director and screenwriter acknowledge that Benjamin s tale
cannot be told without giving the audience an explanation for why he is born... Show more content

This explanation of the clock also resembles Mark Twain s affirmation that, the best part of life
comes at the beginning while the worst comes at the end. Keeping this in mind, Fincher then
presents the audience with the character of Benjamin Button, a child who is born with all the
physical characteristics of an elderly person and who is thereby doomed to age backwards in the
same way as Monsieur Gateau s clock.
This addition of magical realism by the screenwriter and director to explain Benjamin s story
allows the viewer to have a visual metaphor of how it would look if time ran backwards. Like the
Monsieur Gateau s clock, Benjamin is an anomaly that is meant to defy the mechanisms of time.
Yet, Benjamin and the clock both fall short on that front. Throughout the movie, the audience is
shown how Benjamin is plagued with the same ailments as others even though he is ageing
differently. Just like a regular humanbeing, he experiences the lost of family and friends due to
death and has to come to terms with the fact that he too will soon die. Ultimately, this shows that
regardless of the way that an individual ages, death is inevitable. Even the clock eventually
succumbs to death when it is submerged in water during the flooding of New Orleans at the end of
the movie as Hurricane Katrina finally hits. Once this happens, the viewer must face the fact that

  • 2. How Does Shirley Jackson Use Foreshadowing In The Lottery They call it the lottery, but this isn t just any lottery! The Lottery, a short story by Shirley Jackson, is about a town in the 1950s. The townspeople have a tradition that they call the lottery, which is actually a sacrificial stoning. They have this tradition because they are crazy and they think that it helps the crops grow; without it there would be no food. In The Lottery, Shirley Jacksonuses foreshadowing to add to the shock factor of the terrible ending. In the beginning of the story, the author uses brief foreshadowing when she describes boys gathering rocks while other people gather in the townsquare for the lottery. The author writes, Bobby [Martin] and Harry Jones and Dickie Delacroix...eventually made a great pile of stones ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Lynching By Claude Mckay The Lynching Analysis Chloe Chrysikopoulos How to Read a Poem ARTL 100 October 31, 2014 As Ida B Wells said, Our country s national crime is lynching. It is not the creature of an hour, the sudden outburst of uncontrolled fury, or the unspeakable brutality of an insane mob. Claude McKay in his sonnet The Lynching describes the gruesome reality of a lynching and how it is not the creature of an hour, the sudden outburst of uncontrolled fury... but simply white men, women, and children who carried out this act of cruelty and celebrated it without remorse. McKay uses various sounds and rhythmic devices to reflect the intensity of the horrific images depicted. The sound devices combined with the symbolism, allusion, and dark imagery illustrate the violent crimes committed against the African Americans. This poem was published in 1922 after slavery had ended however hatred and violence toward African Americans continued. This sonnet is about a lynching and the attitude of the white population. The first quatrain explains what happens to the victim after the lynching. McKay uses the words spirit, heaven, and father to describe the religious experience of the victim after his death (lines 1 2). The author portrays the lynched man as a Christ like figure who ascended to high heaven and is welcomed by God, his father. And at the same time God rejects the white men, women, and children who were lynchers because their awful sin remained still ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum s Art Collection The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum s art collection blends history and culture to aesthetically define a single individual: Isabella Stewart Gardner. From the Mosaic Floor: Medusa of the inner courtyard, to The Coronation of Hebe (Paolo Veronese) on the ceiling of the third floor Veronese Room, Gardner determined every inch of both the interior and exterior of the structure housing her personal collection of masterpieces. This museum was specifically designed to resemble a 15th century Venetian palazzo, inspired from the city that captured Gardner s heart and ultimate vision of her legacy (Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum). Assisted by Renaissance revival architect, Willard T. Sears, the palazzo like structure was realized in its full glory, albeit Renaissance ornamentation had no logical place in early 20th century Boston, Massachusetts. However, Isabella Stewart Gardners fascination with the Renaissance was not solely because the works and buildings were visually pleasing. A palazzo, for a wealthy family, was a lasting symbol of status. Gardner s choice to create a museum inspired by this Renaissance structure demonstrates how this Renaissance mindset can be translated into her modern context when crafting her own legacy. The exterior of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is drastically more modest than the interior. In the same fashion as the traditional palazzos of the Renaissance, the masonry is smooth and understated. The flat roof resembles that of the Palazzo ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Aristophanes Clouds Is A Social Commentary On The Nature... Aristophanes Clouds is a social commentary on the nature of justice as it pertains to the philosophic life within the city disguised as a crude theatrical comedy. The protagonist Strepsiades is overcome by debt due to his son Pheidippides obsession with horsemanship, and Strepsiades seeks the help of local philosopher Socratesin order to learn the art of deceptive speaking so that he may trick his creditors and not give anyone back even an obol of those debts (120). Although the play is filled with vulgar humor on the surface, Aristophanesuses the dialogue to examine the dangers of the philosophical life and its effect on the city. Through the story of Strepsiades, Aristophanes leads his audience to the conclusion that the philosophic life and those who partake in it are a danger to the city because of their blatant disregard for the gods and the traditional customs of Athens. At the opening of the play, Strepsiades begins with an invocation to Zeus the King! (2). Upon arrival to Socrates Thinkery, Strepsiades begs Socrates to teach him how to win both just and unjust causes by speaking in order to have his debts forgiven without having to pay them back (98), and swears by the gods that he will pay Socrates (246). In asthma, there is a spastic contraction of the smooth muscle in the bronchioles[gyton]. The presence of this airway obstruction causes edema and mucus secretion. When there is an increased sensitivity to irritating stimuli, bronchoconstriction occurs leading to hyperplasia of smooth muscle, hyper secretion and dis modeling of the epithelium. It is a concerning problem. And although many don t infact believe in global warming, muck and smog is becoming a worsening problem as the years go on. If there is any way to overall help to decrease the amount of pollution that is is being put out, it would be a necessary option. the government is proposing a plastic bag fee that will range about 25 cents for each plastic bag.The hopeful outcome of this would be to see people bring reusable bags rather than paying for the 25 cent bag. • 18. An Important Aspect Of Purchasing And Selling Goods Whether An important aspect of purchasing and selling goods whether for trade or personal reasons is to understand who bears the burden of damage to the goods. This is of great importance, but often overlooked, determining when risk has passed from one party to the next establishes whether the seller may still recover the full price of the damaged goods and the buyer be left with damaged goods or not. In this short note we will briefly look at the consequences of not dealing with these issues in your contract as well as some brief thoughts on how this may be avoided. WHAT DO WE MEAN BY RISK PASSING AND WHEN DOES THIS HAPPEN? When we talk of the risk passing to the buyer what is referred to is the burden of having to deal with the damaged goods.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As such, in these types of contracts the risk does not pass until the goods described in the contract are appropriated to the contract. That is, when the seller has set aside a specific 10 tonnes of maize to be bought by the buyer. Until the product has been appropriated to the contract the seller is liable to replace the goods before they are entitled to the purchase price, once they have been appropriated or distinguished the risk for damage passes to the buyer. What if the sale is subject to a condition? For example suppose that the contract of sale for a buffalo was made conditional on the buffalo being tested for, and being found free of, any disease (the sale is suspended until the buffalo is found to be disease free) and the buffalo dies before this can be determined. In situations like this the risk does not pass to the buyer until the condition has been fulfilled. On fulfilment of the condition the risk becomes the buyers from the date of conclusion of the sale. In the above scenario the risk has not yet passed to the buyer therefore the seller bears the risk of the buffalo dying or being injured. The dramatic friendship between Adams and Jefferson took another turn in 1812 when they finally listened to patriot and physician Benjamin Rush to reconcile their relationship, which had been suggested and encouraged by Rush for the past three years. Benjamin Rush also had a dream that Adams and Jefferson reconciled their friendship and died almost at the same time.[10] First attempt to reconcile appeared in letters in 1813 when Jefferson looked back at French Revolution and admitted that Adams had been right. In 1789, Adams had envisioned that the French Revolution would be a long lasting and bloody war. He had also predicted that the Great Britain would win the European supremacy over France. This poem is an eight lined stanza which is heavily laden with rhymes and the use of prosaic language. The poem has been written within the context of a visitor who has walked into a classroom under the guidance of a kind elderly nun. The importance of this poem to this reading is also seen in the fact that it betrays the political ideals that Yeats had: the poem implicates the speaker as being a senator. It is in after 1924 that Yeats served as a senator. This makes the poem sound like a poem which was penned down after the civil war, given that it is written from the standpoint of a more peaceful and politically stable Ireland. • 26. Centipedes Research Paper Most pests are adapted for either outdoor or indoor living. However, when searching for a mate, an easy meal, a secure place for depositing their eggs or a nurturing environment, outdoor pests will sometimes find their way inside your home or business. Sometimes, these pests are temporary and quickly return to the wild, but at other times, they find themselves too content to leave. Pest control professionals refer to these types of pests as occasional invaders. In Florida, you might find yourself contending with the following occasional invaders. I found that the reflections as part of the weekly journal to of particular interest and benefit as I examined he Guiding Questions for this final synthesis essay. Interestingly, my colleagues in this course found these reflectionsnot to be beneficial. During one of our class meetings it was noted that these were not a beneficial exercise and that reflectionwas not needed. To that, I would counter that reflection s always needed but it is often the easiest item to overlook. In our hectic administrative world, it is easy to become buried in Administrivia. Often we do not event take a moment to move from one crisis to the next. Reflection is the only way we can halt the inexorable march to the end. I for one, was pleased that we were asked to reflect on each week. I took this as an opportunity to examine the actions of the superintendentand, in a risk free environment, provide my perspective on the positive or negative actions observed or experienced. Hopefully the observations and judgments in those weekly journals remain an academic exercise and not a communique to my superintendent. As I re read the journal entries and focus them with the lens of the guiding questions, I have some final thoughts about my qualifications and idiosyncrasies that may come into play if ever I was afforded the honor of being a superintendent. • 29. The Loss Of His Mother In The Prelude By William Wordsworth In this essay I hope to uncover the many instances that William Wordsworth inconspicuously places his mother into The Prelude and to explore the multimodal occurrence of paternal loss throughout the text. Although both of Wordsworth s parents perished while he was young in years, it seems that his mother, Ann Wordsworth, was the greatest influencer of his poetic artistry. The loss of Ann Wordsworth can be said to be a defining point in the young William Wordsworth s life, and have had more of an impact on him than the loss of his father. If any of Wordsworth s poetic artistry came from the influence of the loss of his parents, it was most likely from the anger he felt towards his mother s desertion of him and his siblings, rather than the guilt that he associated with his father s death. Wordsworth is a poet of nature, a poet of morality. Scholar Eugene Stelzig explores this idea more throughout his article, Wordsworth s bleeding spots: Traumatic memories f the absent father in The Prelude. Stelzig states that at the same time as being the poet of morality, Wordsworth is also, a poet of human continuity, of growth and development. (533) Stelzig s word choice relates to The Prelude as a whole, rather than each book in sections. The main reasoning for the autobiographical content within the psuedo epic is to transcribe the history of what made William Wordsworth into the poet that he was and that he is viewed as. This allows the poem to act as a palimpsest. Revision after ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To summarise his chapter on presentation Goffman s primary assumption is that individuals differ not by their specific qualities, but by the situations they find themselves in to which they adopt different roles to perform for the observer . For this work Goffman gained inspiration from his own personal experiences, as his wife struggled with mental illness and he chose to travel to the Shetland Islands to study the interaction in their society. His wife s illness may have shaped his argument as another key piece of his work was Asylums where he carried out fieldwork in a hospital where he wished to look at the social world of an inmate. In his findings he was very critical and stated how behaviour that was deemed out of the ordinary was simply someone not conforming to the rules and expectations of society. If those rules or norms/values are broken that person would be viewed as an outsider and therefore displays an inability to play the role of an actor . Once Woolf chose to combine the two separate stories, with the loss of unity this would imply, she must dramatize the split in structure and make a virtue out of it. The contrast between the minds of Clarissa and Septimus is but one way; another is the split within the characters themselves. Septimus is a schizophrenic, in the common (although not the medical) view, a split personality; and he alternates between normal and abnormal behavior. Clarissa is divided in another way; she is born under Gemini, the sign of the twins, indicated by Woolf s mention that she had just broken into her fifty second year With this Gemini or twin motif, Woolf was able to accomplish several things: achieve a balance between the two characters and story lines which fall into place as twin stories and use the motif as a basis for a complicated network of ... Two examples of poetry in film is Snyder s 300 (2006) and Weir s Gallipoli (1981), Both films have a theme of War one that glorifies it and the other denounces it. Despite the films being different in genre and mood, both films have strong poetic devices such as hyperbole, symbolism and repetition. During Snyder s 300 many forms of hyperbole were used to portray the Glory of War which is the main theme for the film. An example of hyperbole, which is noticeable throughout the entire film, is the enhanced colouring to make the figures and scenes appear like a graphic novel. This is because the original story line was based on Frank Millar s 300 graphic novel series. The end half of the movie used exaggerated features more often, from the beast like features on Persia s fighters to Leonidas war cry nearing the end of the final battle. The directors have used this poetic device to create a stronger sense of emotion for the film. Although Fincher and Roth keeps the basic idea of Benjamin Button s existence the same, their screen adaption tells a more sincere version of how it would feel to live life in reverse. This addition of magical realism by the screenwriter and director to explain Benjamin s story allows the viewer to have a visual metaphor of how it would look if time ran backwards. Like the Monsieur Gateau s clock, Benjamin is an anomaly that is meant to defy the mechanisms of time. Yet, Benjamin and the clock both fall short on that front. Throughout the movie, the audience is shown how Benjamin is plagued with the same ailments as others even though he is ageing differently. Just like a regular humanbeing, he experiences the lost of family and friends due to death and has to come to terms with the fact that he too will soon die. Ultimately, this shows that regardless of the way that an individual ages, death is inevitable.
