2. Laurentia Bioregion
Introduction Currently residing in the state of Vermont the bioregion to which I ve been
informally assigned to is commonly known as the Laurentia bioregion. This assignment of
bioregion is widely accepted, but when looked at more deeply assigning Vermont to the Laurentia
bioregion becomes problematic. There are seemingly, an endless number of variables that
contribute to the characteristics and difference that vary from bioregion to bioregion. Geologic
makeup, weather variance, soil type, biologic diversity, and the natural processes that occur
within a given territory are a few of the variables one must consider when trying to assign
themselves to a specific bioregion. Laurentia as it stands as serving as an outline as a bioregion is...

The ancient forests of the Northeast aren t the only aspect of the bioregion that s fate have been at
perpetual risk since the early settlement of Europeans. There is no question that forests still
dominate the landscape of Northeastern region accounting for 60% of the total land area, and in
New England alone, the coverage is 80% . Still the species that exist within the understory of the
forests have undergone an equally dramatic transformation because of human interaction with the
land and the harvest of its resources. Some species in the understory of the mixed forests of the
Northeast have been driven out of the region, are under intense ecological pressure, are on the brink
of extinction, or have already gone extinct in the region. Perhaps one of the most harmful and
impactful effects colonization of the Northeast has had on the resources of the land is the
introduction of non native species and diseases into the region. Over time the overall makeup of the
forests have changed drastically as an example, ...the American chestnut once made up as much as
25% of the trees in some areas and was economically the most important hardwood in the Eastern
forests . The introduction of chestnut blight at the turn of the century accounts for

3. Legacy Of Japanese Internment
Introduction
After World War I, the Japanese thought the United States was weak. America did not want to
get involved in World War II. So the Japanese figured they could defeat the United States. On
December 7, 1941, the Japanese invaded the United States and attacked. It was a very devastating
event. So many lives were taken and there was so much damage. This was known as the Attack of
Pearl Harbor. President Roosevelt and his executives felt pressured by the Japanese Americans, so
he created the Executive Order 9066, which proclaimed that all Japanese Americans in the United
States were to be interned in internment camps. Their lives were horrible in the camps. Eventually

The legacy of Japanese internment left people racist towards Japanese, and these innocent
Japanese literally did nothing to deserve what they received. The Japanese and the United States
wanted to earn each other s trust back. Racism and judging was horrible for the Japanese people.
Some blacks returned the favor, as one wrote, The Japanese were not white folks....the white
skin and proved to blacks that since Japanese didn t have to be feared, they didn t have to be
considered . Black people were not really important, and they saw Japanese become the same.
They knew what was happening and felt bad for them. They knew that because of fear and their
intentions. Many white people will never be minorities, even though there will always be
minorities. No one, today, will say harmful or mean things about or towards the Japanese and that
is awesome because that means progress has been made, but it s not close enough to be perfect
progression. We need to progress more and get to a point where all racism no longer exists and

The Industrial Revolution is one of the most influential periods of time in history. The difference
between the factory and the domestic systems and how they emerged are what make this time
period the most interesting. It s bewildering how in such little time we went from working at home
by ourselves producing very little to working on a large scale and producing many thing at once.
The change from the Domestic system to the factory system was caused by the people s need of
material things faster. One reason this whole ordeal started was because of the enclosure acts. The
enclosure acts closed parts of land and gave certain people legal rights to the property. They set
these enclosure acts so farming would be done more efficiently, but as... Show more content on

5. Summary Of The Novel Collapse By Jared Diamond
Collapse, a novel by Jared Diamond, discusses current and future problems on Earth to warn
readers of what is happening around them. Diamond goes into detail about specific societies, and
then analyzes its meaning in the final chapter. Using the title The World as a Polder, he
examines twelve major issues that are expected to worsen in the future. These issues include
deforestation, overfishing, loss of diversity of species, loss of soil, growth of the human
population, and the effect of more people. The limit on energy, freshwater, and sunlight is also
mentioned, as well as the challenges brought up by toxic chemicals, alien species, and
atmospheric gases. These environmental challenges are so hard to overcome because different
people do not want to spend money and time fixing the same dilemmas. A common belief is that
these problems are not going to matter anytime soon, so we have no reason to care. However, this
is incorrect. We need to act now in order to move past... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

year! (523). Along with this statement, Diamond says, ...rises in living standards in Third World

illegal, of individual Third World inhabitants into the First World, driven by political, economic,

because it can lower their living standards as well as creating a larger carbon footprint, less food

6. Sociological Perspectives Of Assimilation Essay
Assimilation is a process where formerly distinct and separate groups have taken the time to come
and share a common socially. This is where a minority group adapts to a custom in attitudes of the
prevailing culture and customs. The three sociological perspectives of assimilation is race relation
cycle, Gordon s stages of assimilation, and human capital theory. In racerelations cycle groups first
come into contact with a conflict and competition between them. This process moves toward
separate groups coming together and sharing that common culturesocially. After a certain amount of

of community connectedness as a protective factor of her health. Many epidemiologists corroborate
that a healthy social network relates to positive health, such as reduced rates of depression.
(Thompson, Teresa. 2014) Social supportcan be delivered by family, friends, teachers, social groups
and many more. Social support aims to educate through advice, information and resources for a
common goal to improve health.

Later in Maggie s story, she marries a man who is controlling over her social life (forces her to
stay at home rather than work). His urge for dominance eventually leads to a physical assault
with Maggie. It is obvious that this relationship is not emotionally, mentally or physically
healthy for Maggie and her two young children. It is obvious that healthy social relationships
have positive effects on physical and mental health. (Berklan, L Glass, T Brisette, I. 2000) For
the duration of their relationship, Maggie records her social circle consisting of her family only.
This is not acceptable as two young children are not experienced enough to be giving Maggie
social support, neither is her abusive husband. Social support groups may have encouraged
Maggie to leave her husband, providing her with temporary accommodation or even legal
advice regarding a divorce or a restraining order. This advice can stem from social support groups
such as mothers groups, community support groups and even work colleagues. A study of 60
women revealed that lack of institutional and informal social support were related to low self
esteem and severe depressive symptoms. Upon further analysis, this study suggested violence
related stress may have indirect effects on social support. (Re, M. 1983) It is also important to
note Maggie s restricted social circle, absence of social relationships and dearth of affection in
her marriage may have caused her to experience loneliness. A study on the relationship loneliness
has on physical health discloses loneliness is experienced by 80% of people below 18 years of
age with a common risk factor of being female and substandard social sources. Inherently, the study
summarised lonely people are less happy and satisfied the foundation to depression. ( Mushtaq, R

The doing ethics technique The technique of analysis depends upon asking questions. It has
been found that the order in which the questions are asked is also important. The following
questions, in this order, have been found to work best (through trial and error over many
semesters). Q1 What is going on? What are the facts? Q2 What are the issues? Q3 Who is
affected? Q4 hence, What are the ethical issues and implications? Q5 What can be done about it?
What options are there? and Q6 Which option is best? and Why? Benefits An injunction to think
ethically about a situation is not helpful. Perhaps if one has a background in moral philosophy
this would work, but usually both students and IT professionals require some form of guidance as
9. to how to achieve an appropriate outcome. The technique has proven itself as a means to achieving
this, at least for PIIT students. This approach is not dependent on a particular standard, such as the
code of ethics of a particular professional society. It is a technique that can be applied in a variety
of circumstances, not limited by technological, cultural or religious background. The approach is
not limited by one s moral philosophy. One can use this technique effectively and be an objectivist,
holding that certain moral truths remain good independently of personal likes and dislikes, or a
relativist, holding that truths are relative to the individual

13. Crime Control Policy Is Grounded Into Two Conservative...
Introduction
According to Garry Potter, PhD, crime control policy is grounded into two conservative traditions
in the United States. Both conservatives are assumptions that assumes that classified traditions are
of social organizations are established around values that have a positive impact on society, while
the other has a reform that is subversive and radical in which become rebellious (2011). However,
crime control is conservative; which is based on two reasons. First, it is the attempt to control
and prevent criminal behavior which displays no interest in producing an elaboration of crime
and criminality. Second, terms of a separation between criminals and non criminals, for example
the behavior has to be prevented or punished for a solution to the problem of crime. However,
according to Gottfredson and Hirschi (1995) crime control policy in the United States is unguided
by theory. Programs that sow disdain based on ideas why crimes occur are favored. Theoretical
criminology has changed to administrative criminology due to comparison of the crime and the
nature of the crime. However, once theory is established; the government is responsible for
controlling crime according to Hirschi (1993).
When noting crime control policy there are discussion on why it is needed. Multiple categories
must come into play on deciding what crime control policy is based one. Crime control policy is
based on psychological, sociological and biological understanding of criminality.

14. Theories Of Juvenile Delinquency
The most frequently asked question of criminologists is, what causes delinquency? There are many
explanations and theories of delinquency, especially in specific regards juvenile delinquency. For
the simplicity and length, this paper will be focusing on the strain theory, social learning theory,
control theory, labeling theory, and life course theory. First the theories will be explained and
defined. After the theories have been defined, a comparison of the five will be made. Next, some
contrasts of the theories. Finally, to wrap the paper together, an analysis of which theory is the most
applicable to juvenile delinquency, specifically. The first modern version of strain theory is Robert
K. Merton (1938) which involves the inability of individuals to achieve culturally prescribed
success goals, or goal blockage . In addition to this goal blockage Merton defines two types of
strain; the failure to achieve these goals and the loss of positive stimuli and/or a presence of
negative stimuli. Focusing on the goals that are culturally prescribed for success, specifically for
juveniles, these could include money, status or respect, autonomy from adults, and thrills or
excitement. Autonomy from adults is a key goal for juveniles because as a teenager, the juvenile
strives to be independent and strives to be treated as an adult. Agnew, another prominent theorist of
strain theory, lists eight types of negative treatment or presence of negative stimuli: parental
rejection, parental supervision and discipline that is very strict/erratic/excessive given the infraction
and/or harsh, child abuse and neglect, negative school experiences, abusive peer relations, criminal
victimization, homelessness, and experiences with prejudice and discrimination based on ascribed
characteristics like gender and race/ethnicity. The frustration that results from this goal blockage
increased the likelihood of crime; individuals may try to obtain money through acts such as theft
and drug selling, may strike out at others in their anger or may focus on alternative goals that are
conducive to crime (e.g., masculinity goals emphasizing toughness) (Agnew 2012).
Social learning theory is not a single theory but rather a family of theories

Law and Ethics in Health Introduction Ethics and as sometimes called morals is the concept of
what is right or wrong or what one is supposed to do or not do. Health practitioners are guided by
ethical principles to help them make informed decisions. There are various Ethical theories that can
be applied in different situations. Consequentialism theory helps to know the consequence of any
action taken by a health practitioner. Deontology deals with the duties and practices of the doctors
or nurses. Health workers that tend to adhere so much on this theory may have conflicts with other
individuals at work. Virtue theory deals with the morals of an individual. Principlism theory

a society with the aim of maintaining order. Like other institutions individuals in the healthcare
sector are protected by law to ensure none of them is harmed. The patients have their rights as
stipulated by the law and it is the responsibility if the healthcare providers to uphold their rights. On

In a conversation with Schlichtmann, Facher stated, the truth? I thought we were talking about a

look for the truth. Facher also stated, truth is found at the bottom of a bottomless pit. If truth is

provide proof that achieving victory is far more important than providing the facts and discovering
truth, in his opinion. His actions and tactics indeed worked for him.
Furthermore, the chances of the plaintiff winning a civil court case are low. When it comes to it, a
settlement is commonly agreed on before a verdict is even presented. Schlichtmann didn t want the
case and refused at first because he knew it was going to be tough. He explained his reasons for

The odds of a plaintiff s lawyer winning in civil court are two to one against. Think about that

Honorable and Courageous Manhood
The theme in the book Shane, by Jack Schaefer, portrays that true manhood consists not of
bravado or status, but of character, honor, and loyalty. The main character is a man named Shane,
who rides into a small valley mysteriously at the beginning of the book and takes a position as the
aid of a farmer, Joe Starett. When Shane arrives, Joe and the other farmers of the valley are
struggling, while the rancher Fletcher is the highest valley authority. The townspeople and Bob, Joe
s son, struggle to discover what make a man honorable and manly. They hold Fletcher and his
cowboys as authorities, manly men in a culture that admires this, because of the glamour of their
profession. Fletcher s confidence and bravado, as well as his profession and position, appear to
the townspeople to be the epitome of manhood. Bob falls into this easy way of thinking as well;
he says that before Shane came into his life his highest aspiration was to become like his father,
but his ambition was to first be a cowboy. Bob visualizes himself riding through the country:
rough, strong, free, and well liked. After Shane arrives, Bob starts thinking about true manhood,
comparing his father, Shane, Fletcher, and the cowboys. He realizes that manhood is not being like
Fletcher, with shows of bravado designed to insult others, but instead is standing up for your
family and principles when necessary. Bob also learns that manhood has to do a great deal with

Oct 3, 2014 The Impact of Payroll Tax
Payroll taxes are the federal tax and the state tax contributed by the employer and employee to

Pay roll tax falls under two categories: one deduction from the employee s wage and another is
based on employee s wage paid by the employer. In the first kind of payroll tax, employer reserve

pay as you earn tax (PAYE). One the other hand, in the second kind the employer s pays the tax
from his/her own fund and is directly related to employing a worker. The sum paid by the
employer normally covers the employer s finance of the social security system, Medicare, and
other insurance programs. The US government charges two distinct payroll taxes in labor wage.
The first tax is a 12.4 percent to fund the social security in which the first dollar an individual
earns in income up to a cap of $117,000 in 2014. Each year the cap is adjusted to the change in
the wage. Both the employer and employees share the equal burden in the tax i.e. 50 percent

As a result of the legalization of medical marijuana in certain states, the Obama Administration
favored the states in which if an individual follows the state laws, the individual will not be

due to their negligence and unawareness of informing the patient. On the other hand, Wyeth

The three approaches to public administration are political, managerial, and legal. In the political
approach, political authority is divided between a central government and the provincial or state
governments. This means that some provinces or states are accorded a substantial measure of
constitutional or legal sovereignty, although they still remain subordinates of the central government
in certain constitutional or legal respects. The political approach promotes the political values of

One of the advantages of the managerial approach is that it enables the government to adapt to
regional or local conditions, especially given that the various regions in a large nation such as the
United States would likely have different physical characteristics in terms of their hydrology,
topography, and climate. In addition, a managerial or decentralized approach enables the
government to keep its span of control manageable, that is, the number of subordinates that report
to an administrative official is reduced. In turn, this enables an administrative official to more
effectively supervise their subordinates. Even with a decentralized approach, it may still be possible
to implement national guidelines to local conditions. In sum, the managerial approach promotes the
managerial values of economy, efficiency, responsiveness to clients and customers, and
administrative effectiveness.
Finally, the legal approach ensures that the entire nation is integrated or kept together by the
constitutional law despite the decentralization of administrative authority, which enables different
states and administrative units to impose different laws. In particular, it is possible for the
autonomy of the various administrative units to impede national economic development and to lead
to the violation of individual rights and standards of decency. In this regard, the

22. The Importance Of The Right To Bear Arms On College Arms
On December 15, 1791, the United States Congress ratified ten constitutional amendments that were
intended to limit and protect citizens from each other and the federal government. Among those ten
amendments, the second amendment grants states the right to establish a well regulated militia as
necessary to ensure the security of its citizens. By doing so, the federal government and state
governments shall not infringe the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Paradoxically,
legislators managed to infringe, redefine, and pose restrictions on the initial amendment.
Specifically, there are restrictions that limit the ability to carry concealed weapons on college
campuses. Recent events, such as the mass murders of college students by gunmen, have occurred
due to the neglectful actions of legislators. For instance, On April 16, 2007, a senior student at
Virginia Polytechnic University went on a shooting rampage on campus and killed thirty two
people before committing suicide. It is obvious that these open carry restrictions create an easy
target for gunmen, as thousands of college students are vulnerable to attacks. Louisiana is among
those states that have concealed carry laws established to make the concealment of firearms on
college campuses illegal. Louisiana State University ranks first in size and student population in
Louisiana. In comparison to Virginia Polytechnic University, the students at LSU are potentially in
danger of gunmen. There is a common belief that

Suspension bridges are able to work efficiently because of their cables, which are interesting from a
mathematical perspective.
24. Since the bridge s deck spans a long distance, it must be very heavy in weight by its own, not to
mention all the weight of the heavy load of traffic that it must carry. Because of all this weight,
this results in two active forces: compression and tension. The cable s parabolic shape results in
order for it to effectively address these forces acting upon the bridge. For instance, the deck sags
from all the weight of the traffic because of compression forces, which travels upwards the cables.
The cables then transfer those compression forces downwards the vertical towers, down into the
foundations buried deep within the earth. However, the cables receive the brunt of the tension
forces, as they are supporting the bridge s weight and its load of traffic, being stretched by the
anchors ends

25. The Link Between An F Oversupply And Cdr
To analyze the link between an F oversupply and CDR, in situ analyses were conducted in a 400
kmВІ area near Kaduna City, Nigeria (see Fig. 2 1), where endemic cases of active CDR have
been reported since the early 2000s, with a prevalence rate of 5.0% (HVCF 2010).
Epidemiological studies in this area revealed that compared to a control group of peers who live
in the same region, the cases show a lack of Ca in the blood (1.90 vs. 2.19 mmol L 1) as well as
significantly higher 1.25(OH)2D serum levels (442 vs. 347 pmol L 1). The 25(OH)D levels are
normal within both groups (46 vs. 57 nmol L 1), which overall is a typical sign for CDR and not
for vitamin D deficiency rickets. Although no clinical signs of either dental or skeletal fluorosis
were found in any of the CDR affected children, biochemical measurements on the F
concentrations in the serum of the CDR affected children in the Kaduna area are still missing, and
as a result, an underlying fluorosis disease cannot entirely be excluded (Emmert 2010). The study
area is located in the north central of Nigeria, where the climate is affected by the annual shift of
the Intertropical Convergence Zone. The mean annual precipitation rate in this area amounts to
1300 mm, and the average annual temperature is 25.6 В°C (Wall 1979). The natural vegetation is
the savanna trees and grasslands of the northern guinea savanna, which nowadays has mostly been
deforested in favor of agricultural use (Blair Rains et al. 1977).

Gilgamesh, powerful, charismatic, and burly that he was hankering to make a title for himself,
therefore commencing on a perilous journey into Cedar Forest. Gilgamesh presumed that if he
executed the imposing Humbaba, the citizens of Uruk would gaze upon him with astonishment
and awe. He yearned for his name to surpass his demise so that all would know the glorious king
of Uruk who defeated the fearsome Humbaba. Gilgamesh blatantly disregards nature and its beauty
in his conquest to slay the monstrous Humbaba. Nature has been long forgotten and demolished by
beings who do not understand nor value its beauty.
Humbaba was delegated by Enlil to be entrusted with the forest to keep human beings whose
only desire was to log the luscious trees that thrived within the woodland. He was viewed by the
majority as a ferocious beast that bestowed fear in all. In contrast to that, we see near the end of
book V that Humbaba may not be as malicious as he was portrayed. He even begs for his life,
saying that if they spare him, then he will become their personal slave. This makes Gilgamesh have
a moment of contemplation on whether or not he should end Humbaba s life. However, this
moment is quickly terminated by Enkidu as he encourages Gilgamesh to continue with his mission.
Though we will never know if Humbaba truly meant what he uttered to Gilgamesh we feel empathy
for him. Seem genuine, yearning to safeguard the forest as he was put on Earth to do so and for

rome the Colosseum has over LXXX (80) entry ways, this was made for quick seating before the

Founders: the founder of Eden park was a man named Harry Ryan, as he walked past this piece
of land he saw a space where he could play his favourite game, cricket. Soon enough construction
began and soon Eden park was born. The idea for the Colosseum came from a man named Titus
Flavius, this was due to the amount of people coming to the games before the Colosseum was
built. Up to 60,000 people would come and watch the games in a field. Titus saw that too many
people were coming so he thought about building a structure that was able to hold up to 80,000
people at a time. This was also for people to be comfortable at the games. Conclusion: In
conclusion the Colosseum and eden park have their differences and similarities. They both carry
their own history and have a lot of stories to tell. Without the Colosseum we probably wouldn t
have most of the structures we see today, and many people should be grateful for the time and effort

30. A Blended Future Of Technology
Geoffrey Tibbs
Dr. Dimock
EN 140 07
12 February 2016
A Blended Future Technology in education is not a new concept, especially at the college level.
Universities are encouraged to offer online courses, or as freelance journalist Chrissie Long and
many other experts call them, MOOCs (massive online open courses), to reach out to more students
and provide them with a more convenient style of learning (455). While MOOCs certainly have
their strengths, how far should universities go? What is the future of online education? Should
colleges of the future only offer online courses, or should face to face classes still be the primary
form of education? Blended courses, though not without faults of their own, can combine the best
elements of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because the lectures are outside of class, there is more time for discussion and clarification. The
lectures in strictly face to face courses are presented in class, so there is not usually enough time
for in depth discussions. MOOCs are entirely online, so there is no meeting for discussion.
Blended courses do meet and have time for discussions, but there are some drawbacks as well. For
example, if a student has a question that he or she cannot find the answer to, the student will have
to wait until the next in class meeting or email the professor to get the answer. In face to face
classes, the student could ask the professor immediately, but a student in a blended course would
still be able to eventually ask the professor in person, which is an advantage over a MOOC. Even
though face to face classes have more access to professors, and MOOCs do not require the
student to come to campus, blended courses remain beneficial to students because they provide
more time for discussions and clarification than other types of classes. Aside from more in class
discussion, blended courses also allow students to set their own paces. In an article for U.S. News
World Report, author Jordan Friedman mentioned a 2011 Kaplan Inc. research review that said
blended learning programs can potentially offer more personalized, student focused and flexible

33. Analysis Of The Article Why Parents Need To Let Their...
In the article Why Parents Need to Let Their Children Fail Lahey illustrates overprotective
parents (helicopter parenting). Lahey shows a perfect example at the beginning of the article
where a mother wrote her child s essay and plagiarized it; she gave excuses like my kid has a lot of
work or I don t want her to be overstressed. This type of parentingmakes teachers jobs more
difficult because the student is not learning the material if their parents are doing their homework.
Overall Lahey argues that overparenting is damaging towards a child s growth; I agree that this is
destructive to a kid, because if they do not learn how to fail when they are younger than they have a
sense of entitlement in the future.
Lahey is correct about how children will be stuck in a state of helplessness , which I see every
day. Every day at work I witness how children are not able to answer a simple yes or no question
without their parent there to guide them. This has caused them to believe they are incapable of
being in control of their own lives in a way. Many parents come in asking me if their child did their
homework instead of asking the child and holding them accountable for doing it or not. I have
witnessed children that know all the answers to a math worksheet but go to their parents for the
answers instead of even trying. Children who grow up unprepared for the world are unable to deal
with the emotional hardships of not having their parents to lean on every step they are unable to
cope with not getting their way. Similarly, Lahey explains how parents who raise their children in a
state of helplessness and powerlessness, children destined to an anxious adulthood, lacking the
emotional resources they will need to cope with inevitable setback and failure. (Lahey 3) If a child
is unable to master what I call thick skin when they are young then in the future every little thing
will hurt their feelings. Thick skin is made when your parents give you chores and hold you
responsible if they are not done. Future adults that had helicopter parents will be unable to put up
the dishes without needing reassurance that they are doing it correctly. These parents are ultimately
giving their children a false sense of protection for

Public Private Partnership (PPP) practice has been increasingly prevalent in modern infrastructure
delivery and public service provision, such as in transportation, electric power, waste management,

inherent efficiency advantages (Grimsey and Lewis, 2007; Hart, 2003; Yang and Wang, 2013).
Unlike conventional public procurement, PPP takes an integration of financing, construction,

Before a person is well recognized in society, they need to go though a lot of trouble,
discrimination, and change to get there. No one judges them by their individual merit. This also

position around the globe. This is done so they are well established for their good qualities. Canada
is also a name in the list of such nations. Recognition was really hard for Canada to get because of

scene including one witness, Mr. Frank Hale, who quotes the only suspect in a case involving the

long lasting hatreds and wars; since WWII, which has made international politics unpredictable and

Women openings were restricted by polygamy. There s just a single particular law of marriage
that administered them, and it s that men couldn t have two formal wives. This didn t keep men
from going to a ton of different women, which gives a great part of the storyline behind the
Genji being a Don Juan (The Tale of Genji; p 30). Likewise, this sort of custom of men having a
polygamous nature isn t viewed as discourteous amid this time. Waka couplets in The Tale of
Genji; have special commitment towards the hugeness of the story. In The Tale of Genji, waka
poetry overruns each part of life from romance to court custom to artistic enjoyment; and as a
result of these capacities, the waka is quickly fused into the Heian exposition narrative
(Damrosch and Pike, p 223). Nearer reading of the waka couplets in The Tale of Genji; makes it
apparent that they contribute not just to the excellence of style yet additionally to the making of a
lyrical method of portrayal (The Tale of Genji; p 41). The multi meaning and double working of

for the shortage of nurses? Moral distress comes into play dramatically with specific nurses such
as pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, and intensive care unit. Many of the nurses
have to deal with life or death situations on a daily basis working in those units. Dealing with that
dilemma daily makes it harder for this medical staff to go back to the hospital. All nurses deal
with some kind of moral distress, but critical care nurses suffer from a more intense level of
distress. There are many factors that play into the shortage of nurses. In Anthony Tuckett s study,
he discovers reasons why nurses are leaving the profession. In attempt to understand, he
interviewed nurses and asked for their opinion on the lack of physicians assistant. Overall, Tuckett
concluded that the primary reasons for this are no manager support, co worker support, and the
fact that business policies are put before caring for the patient (364). New nurses feel belittled
when entering the profession and old nurses feel as

44. New in the Forex Market
New in the Forex market? This market may sound really complicated and scary to tackle but it s
not. Just like in any kinds of trade, you make money when you buy low and sell high. Forex
trading is simply trading currencies in the Forex market. Forex is the largest financial market in
the world. It generates trillions of dollars of currency exchanges everyday and it operates 24
hours a day and seven days a week therefore, also making it the most liquid market in the world.
In the world of Forex, trading in this very liquid market is very unique compared to other
financial market like stocks. Since the Forex market operates 24 hours a day worldwide, which
starts at Sydney and ends in New York, trading is not centralized in one location. You can trade
in Forex whenever you want regardless of the local time. In the past, Forex trading was only
offered to large financial institutions, like banks. And, it was also only offered to large
companies, multi national corporations and large currency dealers. This is because of the large
and extremely strict financial requirements the Forex market imposed. This means that individual
traders and small businesses are not able to participate in this liquid market. However, in the late
90s, Forex was made available to individual traders and small businesses. This is due to the
advances in the communications technology. High speed internet made it possible for people to
enter the Forex market and have become one of the best make money at

that eating protein and vegetables have gone down the sink since, most of the families can t afford

47. Comparing Dorian Gray And Neil Jordan s Interview With A
Oscar Wilde s The Picture of Dorian Gray and Neil Jordan s Interview with a Vampire are gothic
narrations that incorporate the themes of sensuality and hedonism. Although the texts do not
contain any explicit statements of homoeroticism, the suggestive narration, allusions and
imagery, camera angles and music highlight the homoerotic feelings between men. While Wilde
does not mention any homosexual acts explicitly, the element of homoeroticism is described
within the competition for Dorian s attention. Dorian is described through allusions to be
likened to Adonis; a creature who looks as if he were made of ivory and rose leaves. (Lord
Henry Wotten) Adonis, a representation of youthful idealism is a symbolic gesture of Dorian s
youthful sensuality. Lord Henry and Basil Hallward praise Dorian s youthful demeanour, Basil
commenting as long as I live, the personality of Dorian Gray will dominate me. (Basil Hallward)
Whilst Basil is rejected, Dorian wishes to emulate Lord Henry, which in turn, rouses Lord Henry
from his characteristic languor to a desire to influence Dorian, a process that is itself a sublimated
expression of homosexuality. The older gentlemen s longing for Dorian and his admiration of them
adds taboo to the secrecy of the characters private lives. Sensuality and... Show more content on

48. Ethical Framework In Teleological Framework
A case study was done on the closing of a textile manufacturing company in North Carolina, which
decided to relocate the business to another country. The decision to transfer was based on the fact
that the company would generate more revenue at a lower cost. However, the proponents of such a
move were based on an ethical teleological framework decision. However, an ethical leader has
certain qualities that are needed to build trust and develop sustainable relationships amongst
numerous stakeholders (Eisenbeils Brodbeck, 2014). According to the reading in Unit V, the
proponents and decision to move the textile company to Southeast Asia are based on the
teleological framework.
Also, to understand why this move is considered to be ethical, we must look at the meaning of
teleological framework. Teleological is based on one s consequences of action; nevertheless, these
results of interests are those that affect the individuals directly. Additionally, teleological ethics
determines the value of a moral action or a moral life result from that action or life; consequently,
philosophies within teleological ethics are also known as consequentialist ethical theories (Kocyigit
Karadag, 2016). Further, the leader is also in favor of utilitarianism, whereas they can find
themselves confronting undecidable dilemmas for which making a particular decision becomes
almost random (Farmer, 2015). Although, moving to Southeast Asia can be seen as a good and
assessable magnitude,

49. Gasoline Refinement Essay
Gasoline
Gasoline as we know it today comes from crude oil. Crude oil, which is a fossil fuel, is a
nonrenewable (once its gone, its gone for good) fuel source. Fossil fuel is comprised of
naturally decaying plants and animals which once lived in oceans and seas millions of years
ago. Where we find crude oil deposits we also find ancient oceans and seabeds. When extracted
from the earth, crude oil may have colors ranging from clear to jet black and resistance to flow
or viscosity from water to a molasses type substance. Crude oil that is low in metals and sulfur
content, light in color and flow easy are said to be light and cost more where those which are high

Holding tanks can hold up 16 millions gallons of crude per tank. Holding tanks have containment
areas surrounding them to hold the total contents of the tank in a rare case that the tank was
ruptured.
When the refinery is ready to turn the crude oil into useful substances such as gasoline, diesel fuel
and other products. It goes through several basic steps, which are distilling, cracking, treating,
reforming and blending. The crude oil is pumped through pipes into a hot furnace; this first step is
the distilling process (involves several columns or towers which, most of us believe to be smoke
stacks) that separates light hydrocarbons from heavy ones. This process must be monitored very
closely. If the crude oil is over heated it will cause thermal decomposition and create unwanted
waste. As the crude oil is heated the hundreds of different hydrocarbons vaporize at different
temperatures. Light materials like butane, propane, natural gas and petroleum ether will vaporize
between 68 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit. It will then condense at the top of the column. Medium
weight materials such as gasoline and diesel fuel will vaporize between 104 and 390 degrees
Fahrenheit, then condenses in the middle of the column. Kerosene vaporizes at 150 500 degrees
Fahrenheit, fuel oils between 500 750 degrees Fahrenheit and lubricants above 750 degrees
Fahrenheit. Heavy

50. Comparing The Whole Truth And Nothing But The Truth
The Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth When a parent thinks about protecting their child, they
may not consider protecting their child from the invalid information that is being taught in schools
across the nation. There are many factors that go into publishing an academic textbook, but many of
these factors rely solely in the political roots of the publisher. Textbookstoday aim to impress
children with vivid images and information that is easily understood and related to. Leaving out
vital historical information from a curriculum could harm a student severely in the long run. The
thoughts and beliefs that a person constructs are based on prior knowledge and personal
experiences so leaving information about the past is robbing a student the right to understand our
country. Adjustments are certainly needed to be made in the approach of teaching crucial historical
information throughout the nations classrooms. These adjustments would ensure that generations
to come are not doomed to repeat the mistakes made by past century political figures. This essay is
sure to intrigue by deliberating the skewed information covered in academic textbooks, the way
Columbus is taught in schools, and the deception of the severity of global climatechange. Thinking
about how people with power control the potential knowledge of children in classrooms today could
really leave a person wondering what other skeletons the government has in their honorable closet.

51. PCA Embolism
Embolism from a cardiac source is the number one etiology of a PCA stroke, as embolism from a
significant proximal vertebrobasilar disease is less common. PCA resulting from the stenosis is
uncommon.
The posterior cerebral artery can be very difficult to diagnose because the etiology of PCA
infraction can t be determined in a quarter of the patients.
There are two main territories for the vascular supply of the PCA. The proximal
PCA territory involves the paramedian midbrain, the medial thalamus, and the posterolateral
thalamus. The distal territory of the PCA stroke is composed of the cerebral hemisphere, occipital
lobe, parietal, and posterior temporal lobes. Proximal atherosclerotic stenosis of the vertebral or
basilar artery is a course

52. High School Time Research Paper
Students at Southeast Polk High School have to be to school by 7:50 everyday. This is hard on
the students who work late at work or are in other activities and do not get to sleep until a later
time. Plenty of students are late all the time to school because they oversleep. I work have worked
until 10:00 pm at nights for most of High Schooland because school starts so early I have been late
because I overslept at least 20 times in my high school career. I have quite a few friends that I know
do not get off of work until 10:00 pm or 12:00 am. If they work until 12:00 am and get home
around 12:30 they would probably get to sleep around 1:00 am but have to wake up at 7:00 am
which is only 6 hours of sleep. There are a ton of studies that show
