For my scene analysis, I will be talking about the scenes in Martin Scorsese s film, Goodfellas
that take place inside the nightclub. The film portrays the true story of mobster Henry Hill

ranks. He enjoys his life of money and luxury, but is oblivious to the horror that he causes.
During the film, the mobsters spend a lot of their time enjoying themselves at a nightclub they
frequent called the Copacabana . In Goodfellas, the Copacabana is a high class nightclub littered
with mafia gangsters and low key lighting with a red tint and a Hawaiian theme. The scenes were

In order to understand identity work, we need to understand the changing role of organisational
identity in contemporary organisation. Marx, Weber Durkheim observed a shift from
agricultural and craftwork to factory and office based work (Barley Kunda, 2001). A shift from a
more physical blue collar labour to an office based white collar took place. Whilst computers and
other technologies have eliminated different kinds of work, they have also created new ones and
have transformed a significant portion of others, for example in IT industry (Barley 1988, Adler
1992). There are new struggles in the workplaceВ¬, such as new identity intensive issues such as
feminisation of managerial roles, the shifting meaning of professionalism and internationalisation
of business activity. The increased number of women occupying managerial and professional
