How Indian Stock Market Is Affected By Other Foreign Market
The world today is more connected that it has ever been. We are buying and selling things from
and to almost every other country in the world. The economies have financial relationship with
large number of countries and to some or greater extent they affect our economy and we affect
theirs. Some of the global market indices that have a key influence on Indian market are NYSE,
NASDAQ, NIKKEI, Dow Jones, FTSE, S P500, Kospai etc. So the aim of this project is to
understand how Indian stock marketis affected by other foreign market. This study will help us in
understanding the level of interdependency among the major stockmarkets in the world and its
impact on india s market. As the aim of investor is to reduce the risk so investor will... Show more

However if the value of stock index is decreasing it indicates that in general corporate in the
country may be facing trouble. Increasing value of stock index also means that investors are
gaining faith in the economy.
Stock index can be constructed for entire world called global indices like S P global100, MSCI
global (MSCI which include over 6000 stocks from different parts of the developed world), for a
particular continent like (S P Latin America 500), for entire country like (sensex and nifty for
India), or for a particular sector like (BSE BANKEX for top banking companies in India).
How stock index is calculated?
A stock index is created by selecting a group of high performing stocks. Like the index of nation
stock exchange (India) is nifty50 and it comprises of 50 stocks. So if the value of the nifty index
goes up it means that most of the stocks in nifty are performing well.
A stock index can be calculated in two ways
1.By considering the price of the component stocks alone. This method is called the price weighted
method.
2.By considering the market value or size of the company called the capitalization weighted method.
Mostly for calculating the value of a index weighted market capitalization of the companies is used.
Example of index calculation:
Lets us see how the value of a stock index is calculated by taking the example of hypothetical
stocks.
Consider the base index value is set to 100 for the stocks.

are ones such as her mother s death and her involvement. When they played the game Best Day

said lying on the floor, holding her head and jerking. (119) The night before she left in her car
Alaska was severely angry about something that she would not tell to her friends. Then, there is the
lie of the involvement in Alaska s death that the Colonel and Miles tell to everyone. They do not

Role of the United States Government in the Global...
Global Expansion of US Media Industries 1 ROLE OF THE UNITED STATES
GOVERNMENT IN THE GLOBAL EXPANSION OF US MEDIA INDUSTRIES by Lunlalit

Media, Arts and Design University of Westminster Global Expansion of US Media Industries 2
Introduction In the recent past, we cannot deny that the media industry has experienced
monumental growth both in terms of revenues and global expansion. Like other businesses, such as
banking and manufacturing, the media business has enjoyed globalized operations to expand and
grow, becoming one of the biggest conglomerates in the world. World media has proactively
employed information technology and advancement... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allowed media businesses to undertake both horizontal and vertical integration. Horizontal
integration is where a business diversifies its operation by owning subsidiaries of different
sectors (Deloitte 2012). For instance, Time Warner is known print media, news networks and
movie productions houses. On the other hand, vertical integration can be defined as businesses
owning a business with one main stream of business or practice. Thus, loosening of cross
ownership restrictions gave room for business to expand to different units and to the global
market. A new approach to media business that emerged was the convergence of business.
Convergence of business is where two, proportionately big firms, join to share audience as well as
brand names (McChesney 2001). A notable case of convergence in the U.S. media industry was
the convergence between AOL and Time Warner. While other convergences have also been
experienced, the economic results have been mixed. The AOL merger experienced difficult
economic conditions that they later preferred to de converge. In all loosen restrictions on laws has
provided for media to explore all sorts of business arrangement. Zero Government Intervention The
United States government has always taken pride in itself as one of the most liberal government in
the world. The term liberal has been used in the sense that the government adopts a hands off policy
towards the content and the manner in which media houses are run. To this end, the

The Battle of Fredricksburg Essay
The Battle of Fredricksburg In the next pages I will explain why Fredericksburg was such a
tragedy. Why it was a big morale booster for the South, but a disappointment for the North? It all
started in the year 1862. General George McCellen currently controls the army of the Potomac.
When it was determined that McCellen was a bad general, in December of 1862 he was replaced
with General Ambrose Burnside. Within a week, Burnside decided on a campaign to the Southern
capitol, Richmond. He told his plans to Lincoln and Lincoln approved, but told Burnside the only
way for a win was to move quickly. Burnside split his group into three grand divisions, each with
two corps. Burnside s division arrives first at Fredericksburg; when he... Show more content on

Burnside had Generals Sumner and Hooker as his help. Burnside, Sumner, and Hooker were on
one side of the railroad with 10 regiments and on the other side of the railroad was General
Franklin with eight regiments. Burnside also had one regiment of engineers to build the
pontoons to cross the river. (See Map 1) While Burnside had been waiting for two weeks he saw
how the Confederates were positioned; even though the Confederates had the advantage he still
believed he could win. The night before Burnside was going to start building the pontoons, he
sent a message to Lincoln saying, We hope to succeed. So, on the night of Wednesday,
December 10, 1862, the engineers started to build the pontoons. However, another general from
the South, General Will Barkslade, was right above the area where the engineers were and
whenever a soldier went to check on the progress of the pontoons, the Confederates would shoot
at them. Now that everything was off schedule, Burnside knew that the Confederate general was
getting ready to attack. So, Burnside ordered Brigadier General Henry to take 147 heavy caliber
guns and shoot at the Confederates at Stafford Heights. The shooting lasted for an hour. During
that hour, 70 solid shots were fired a minute and that firing destroyed the town of Fredericksburg
instead of the Confederates. General Barksdale was still there to intercept the bridge builders and
troops crossing the bridges. When Barksdale sent a

Miss Representation Summary
Miss Representation Critical Analysis
In Miss Representation, many female actresses, news anchors, politicians, directors and producers
talk about how females suffer a lot of social, political and economic inequalities in today s society.
There are double standards against women in magazines, on TV, in movies, the news, politics, and
the workplace. The media is an influential part of modern culture. When women are portrayed as
objects for men to use never as the protagonist or president and when female news anchors are
objectified, this will cause girls of all ages to begin viewing themselves as objects. Girls grow up
in a world where their voice does not count; where our culture does not embrace them in all of their
diversities, where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The U.S. Congress is only 17% female. As a result, the decisions made by congressmen will tend
to favor men. We are shortchanging voices that are urgently needed in public forms from ever
getting to the table. (Booker) I do not think that it is merely the media to blame for girls not
wanting to become involved in politics. I feel as though girls should be leaders in politics only if
they want to. Although we need way more female representatives, this does not mean that girls
should be forced to do something that they are not interested in.
Women employees make less than men in the same job position. It is an absolute scandal that
American women continue to earn just $0.77 for every dollar men earn. (Sen. Mikulski) There
should not be a gender pay gap. Workers should be given salaries based on their work ethics,
degrees, and academic credentials.
All of those disadvantages for women in modern society are affecting young girls, and it is hard to
raise daughters in today s culture. We as a country should not just let this inequality continue. Men
and women should be treated equally and it is important for parents to raise their kids to make the
future less

R. v. Spencer, 2014 SCC 43, [2014] 2 S.C.R. 212
Facts
Mr. Spencer, who lived with his sister, connected to the Internet through an account registered in his
sister s name. He used LimeWire, a free peer to peer file sharing program, on his computer to
download child pornography from the Internet. Det. Sgt. Darren Parisien of the Saskatoon Police
Service, using publicly accessible software, searched for anyone sharing child pornography. He
could access whatever another user of the software had in his or her shared folder. He could also
obtain two numbers related to a given user: the IP address that matches to the specific Internet
connection through which a computer accesses the Internet and the globally unique identifier
(GUID) number assigned to each computer using particular software. The IP address of the
computer is displayed as part of the file sharing process. Det. Sgt. Parisien created a list of IP
addresses for computers that had shared what he believed to be child pornography. He then ran
that list of IP addresses against a database which matches IP addresses with approximate
locations. He found that one of the IP addresses was suspected to be in Saskatoon, with Shaw as
the ISP. Det. Sgt. Parisien then determined that Mr. Spencer s computer was online and connected
to LimeWire. He was able to look through the shared folder. He saw an extensive amount of what
he believed to be child pornography. What he

Discuss how class conflict is represented in A Streetcar...
Class conflict is represented throughout the play, A Streetcar Named Desire in various ways
through characters, symbols, ideas and language. Characters such as Blanche, Stella, Mitch and
Stanley are used throughout the text to represent the upper and lower classes, as well as the
conflict between the two classes. Symbols, ideas and language help to define the different classes
as well as helping to represent the conflict between classes. The language (dialogue) of the
characters, symbolic use of names, animal imagery and colour (clothes) and the ideas of cultural
capital help to define what the lower and upper classes are.
A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams was written in 1947. The story takes place in
New Orleans, and can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast the name Stanley offers no specific meaning in relation to meaning in the play.
Secondly the name Dubois sounds aristocratic, with a possible proud heritage, whereas the name
Kowalski sounds more modern. A Dubois speaks softly and flittingly, as the name is pronounced,
whereas a Kowalski speaks loudly and brutally as the name is said. Kowalski s enjoy loud, rowdy
poker parties, whilst Dubois s wince and prefer teas, cocktail parties and luncheons. The names of
these two characters help in constructing the conflict between the two classes. The dialogue of
Blanche and Stanley and the symbolic use of names help to construct class conflict in the play, A
Streetcar Named Desire.
Stella represents the old south being converted by the new south. Blanche fights for Stella to
come back and be part of the old south again, accusing Stella of being blinded by desire for
Stanley ( What you are talking about is brutal desire just Desire! Scene Four, Blanche). Elysian
fields is described as having an atmosphere of decay. This scenery is contrasted to the image of
white pillars at Belle Reve. This contrast is to highlight the difference in the world Stella has
chosen (lower class lifestyle), and the world she was brought up in (upper class lifestyle). Colour is
used by Stanley to keep Stella part of the new south. ( ...You showed me the snapshot of the place

It s safe to say that this dataset indicates that Castillo is pretty terrible when it comes to framing
pitches up in the zone.
He s not much better relatively speaking when it comes to the middle of the zone. This data
portal ranks his defense from 2014 2016 as yet again the worst out of all 103 qualified catchers
with a 11.75 framing value. Yet again, it makes little difference whether pitchers throw the ball
inside or outside. His best year in the three year sample was in 2016, when he ranked 73rd out of
76 qualified catchers. Let me reiterate that this data portal ranks Castillo s defense most favorably.
It s safe to say that this dataset thinks little of Castillo s ability to frame pitches in the middle of the
zone.
Castillo excels when it comes to framing pitches in the bottom of the zone. From 2014 2016, his
framing ability is ranked 28th out of 103 with a 6.32 value. He has pretty poor results framing
pitches in the inside part of the zone, ranking only 70th out of 103 with a 1.33 value. However, he
ranks 27th out of 103 framing pitches low and away with a 3.03 pitch framing value and ranks
13th out of 103 framing pitches that are just low but in the middle of the plate with a 4.63 pitch
framing value.
In addition, Castillo has shown improvement at framing pitches low in the zone each year. He
ranked 12th out of 76 in 2016 (+9 runs), 29th out of 67 in 2015 (+2.1 runs) and

I used to play baseball in high school and college. I even played in an over thirty league back in
the mid eighties. When my child Sarah was born in 1991, baseball wasn t something I thought
she would ever be interested in. But when she was about six, I took her over to the park to hit
some baseballs. She picked up the balls after I hit them, and she got up to bat. She hit a few
balls, and she even ran the bases. Sarah had and still has athletic ability good hand eye

Benjamin Spock had a lot to do with it. Spock s first book, Baby and Child Care was first
published in 1946 just in time for the baby boomer generation. In his book he spoke about
feeding on demand, respecting your children, the need for flexibility, and the lack of the
necessity to worry about spoiling. The paperback sold more than 50 million copies and was
translated into 30 languages. Critics of Spock claimed that he was the father of permissiveness.
In later years, Spock claimed that he never changed his basic philosopy on child care, that it was
imperative to respect children because they re human beings and they deserve respect. But he
seemed to retreat somewhat from his teachings when he made statements such as I ve always
said ask for respect from your children, ask for cooperation, ask for politeness. Give your
children firm leadership. Years later, he beca me more moralistic and he said that parents should
give their children strong values and encourage them to help others. This is only supposition, but
I hypothesize that Spock may have decided that he didn t like what he saw in society and
realized that he may have played a part in the screwing up of generations. In later editions of the
book originally titled The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care, he stressed that children
needed standards and that parents also had a right to respect. He stated in his book

Claudio Monteverdi And Classical Music
Claudio Monteverdi Brendon Stewart Music 121 F Professor Mehemti 24 November 2017
In his paper I ll be talking Claudio Monteverdi, an Italian composer, string player and choirmaster
during the late renaissance and early baroque era who was versed in both secular and sacred
music and also worked as a choirmaster. A pioneer in the development of operaand crucial figure in
both of these major music periods of classical music. Monteverdi was born in Cremona in 1567,
as the son of a barber and brain surgeon as well as a chemist was his father Baldassare
Monteverdi. Claudio s mother, Maddalena Monteverdi nee Zigani was the child of a blacksmith.
Monteverdi was born the oldest child of six other siblings, he had three other brothers and only
two sisters. Maddalena died when Claudio when he was nine, at that time his father had married

Claudio studied with director of music at the cathedral of Cremona, who was Marcantonio
Ingegneri, who was known to have wrote modern madrigals and church music that wasn t in

The past is something that can be pleasant to remember, but trying to run back to it is like a dog
chasing it s tail, it seems like it is possible yet rarely is. In the novel, The Great Gatsby (1925), by
F. Scott Fitzgerald, the title character, Gatsby tries to recreate his past life and this eventually leads
to his downfall. After Jay Gatsbyloses Daisy Buchanan to another man, he continuously tries to
win the love of his life back because he cannot seem to understand that she is long gone. Some

rich to marry her. After he lost her to Tom, he changed his life around to impress Daisy and try to

luxurious items: On week ends his Rolls Royce became an omnibus, bearing parties to and from
the city, between nine in the morning and long past midnight...And on Mondays eight servants
including an extra gardener toiled all day with mops and scrubbing brushes and hammers and
garden shears, repairing the ravages of the night before (Fitzgerald 43). Gatsby s plan was that
since he placed his mansion across the bay from Daisy s mansion, he might happen to attract her
over with the plentiful parties he put on. His other point of the parties was to keep his superior
status in society and prove to Daisy that he is now the man she once dreamed of. Gatsby believes
he is morally superior to everyone else and that he should have no trouble with winning Daisy
over. He also lies about how he got all the money, lies about his education and acts as if the world
revolves around him. Gatsby s notion that he is better than the other people eventually leaves him
lonely and without anyone to lean on except Nick. Even the local authorities give Gatsby special

What The Bourgeoisie Essay
Title: What the bourgeoisie...produces...is its own grave diggers. Its fall and the victory of the
proletariat are equally inevitable. Consider this statement with reference to the pattern of class
struggle that Marx sees appearing under capitalism.
Through my analysis of Marx and Engel s The Communist Manifesto I have come to somewhat
agree with their view that in the end the Proletariat always come out on top. It seems to me that it
is nothing but a vicious circle . Marx comments that through our history there has always been
evidence of two classes, in other words: the rich and the poor, he makes the claim that there has
forever been the server and the served: ...we find almost everywhere a complicated arrangement of
society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Marx discusses in this piece the ever changing nature of systems, from the Feudal system to the
manufacturing system to the Industrial system, The feudal system of industry...now no longer
sufficed...The manufacturing system took it s place...Thereupon, steam and machinery
revolutionised industrial production. (D.Mclellan, Marx, OUP 1977) pg 223. Therefore the middle
man was cut out, he was no longer important, the division between the powerful and powerless
grew to become much more. The place of manufacture was taken by the giant, Modern Industry, the
place of the industrial middle class, by industrial millionaires, the leaders of the whole industrial
armies, the modern bourgeois.
Marx, in my opinion alludes that the Bourgeois have ruined many of the more caring and loving
parts of our society. The family is an institution that has been present for many centuries, people
associate the family as the core of a person s development, the way a person is brought up
essentially shapes the rest of one s life, the person one become, the way one live one s life and the
way in which one s relationships develop in adult life. The bourgeoisie has torn away from the
family its sentimental veil, and has reduced the family relation to a mere money relation.
(D.Mclellan, Marx, OUP 1977) pg 224. I disagree with this statement, of course I grasp that money
is extremely important

The Importance Of Communication In The Basque Culture
The Basque community as a whole are a very close, tight knit family regardless if it means they
are related by blood or not. The Roman Catholic religion populates for about 94% of the Basque
country. Aside from religion, activities outside the home such as sporting events and traditional
festivities throughout the year are ways they define their culture. It is important for them to keep
these going from generation to generation. Every culture has the same framework model, but
with differences depending on location geographically. This paper explores the Basque culture
and how their beliefs and values on children and family affect the way they live. As mentioned in
Galanti s text there are four C s of culture. Each much be communicated properly to the patient in
order to receive optimal health care: first C) What do you call your problem? second C) What do
you think caused your problem? third C) How do you cope with your condition? fourth C) What
concerns do you have regarding the condition? (Galanti 2008).
Communication in the Basque Culture The Basque language is known as Euskara and is spoken
primarily in the northern central area of Spain and is known to be Europe s oldest living languages.
The languages spoken are both Basque and Spanish and both can be very complex with several
different dialects. (Organization for Economic Co operation and Development, 2011). Nonverbal

Apple s First Circuit Board
Apple has brought the standard of technology to an all time high, changing the way the world
interacts with each other through their industry leading products. Apple s main focus was to create
a user friendly product, which was demonstrated with the creation of Apple 1. This was Apple s
first computer circuit board and would go on to become the Macintosh computer. Co founders Steve

Altissimo Range Research Paper
The altissimo range is something many saxophonists keep tinkering with even after years of
playing. It s among the biggest frustration points of any new sax player and the reason many feel
like giving up.
But before you pack your saxophone permanently to its box, try the following tips. While
mastering the altissimo range will never be easy, it is possible and you will get there!
Lay a Solid Foundation
Don t venture into the world of the altissimo range before you are able to play the entire range
with proper volume control. You want to play the entire range both very softly and very loud.
Make sure you also include proper ear training to your playing. You need to be able to hear the
different notes and the variations. Listen to sax music regularly to improve your skills.

Start from the easier once such as the low Bb and the middle Bb and move on to middle F, high
Bb, D and F. Keep practicing until you feel comfortable.
You might need to focus on your embouchure while you play, so make sure you try different things
to see what makes it easier to hit the right notes. Altissimo range requires great control of the
embouchure, so pay attention to it.
Experiment with Fingerings
There is no ultimate truth to fingerings for altissimo notes. It is possible to play them with very
different fingerings and you want to try out different options in order to find the one that works the
best.
You can find different fingering charts online. If the first one doesn t feel comfortable, move onto
the next one pick the one that feels the most natural to you.
One Note at a Time
Don t try to master the whole altissimo range at once. It s much easier to take it step by step and
focus on a single note at a time.
Most often the quest start with the high G. But wait? Isn t the F# the first altissimo note? Yes, but
it s not as difficult to get and most modern saxophones have a special F# key already in

Essay about The Virginian Revolution
Virginia s way to the American Revolution
Woody Holton. Forced Founders: Indians, Debtors, Slaves and the Making of the American
Revolution in Virginia. Chapel Hill: University of North Carolina Press, 1999.
In his book Forced Founders В– Indians, Debtors, Slaves and the Making of the American
Revolution in VirginiaWoody Holton tries to give a В… study of some (not all) of the causes (not
the effects) of Virginia s Revolution. He argues that the Virginia elite were important as leaders of
the Independence movement, but were also powerfully influenced by other forces such as British
merchants, Indians, farmers and slaves. Woody Holton argues that the Virginia gentrywas

The gentry of Virginia was not pleased with this decision, since they invested in the land and were
now legally hindered to sell it. Other settlers, like squatters, just settled there, but the gentry had to
respect the resolution of their own Privy Council. So they started to petition the Council, but
without success. Holton argues that the Indians were able to influence the British government to a
certain point not to allow American settlers to settle in the Ohio Valley, because the British simply
did not want to spend money for British troops that would eventually have to protect the settlers
from Indian assaults. They hoped to prevent a new costly war in America. The problem for the
gentry was that В… the Virginia Executive Council had no choice but to void the hundreds of
surveys that had been done for Virginia speculators and to put a halt to further surveying. This
setback only intensified the speculators effort to persuade the government to let them have
Kentucky and the adjacent region. But the British government did not repeal the act. This caused
many of the gentry s members who speculated for land in Kentucky to be displeased and lose a
great deal of money. Holton gives numerous examples of gentry members that were affected by
these circumstances, including Thomas Jefferson and George Washington.

Ovarian Fibrothecoma
Stromal tumors of the ovary include thecoma and fibroma, yet as differentiation between these two
types may be difficult, the term fibrothecoma has emerged. The exact incidence of fibrothecoma is
unknown, although they have been described as rare ovarian neoplasms1. Here we present an
unusual clinical manifestation of ovarian fibrothecoma with abdominal distension in a young
female. Grossly, the resected left ovarian mass measured 16x16x10 cm and right ovarian mass
measured 3.5x2x0.4 cm. Cut surface of both was firm, grayish white fascicular pattern with few
yellow areas (Fig.1). No normal ovarian tissue was identified. Fibrothecomas are round, oval or
lobulated solid tumors that cast stripy shadows and are associated with fluid in the pouch of
Douglas, and most manifest minimal to moderate vascularization. A fibrothecoma with atypical

Microscopic features of ovarian fibrothecoma include round and spindle shaped nuclei without
atypia or myxoid change. No mitotic figures were observed. On microscopy, the ovarian mass
was composed of spindle stromal cells which were randomly distributed or arranged in fascicles.
The stroma was characterized by thecal cells which were oval to polyhedral with moderate to
abundant vacuolated cytoplasm (Fig.2 3). The nuclei were round to oval and exhibit little or no
atypia. The fibromatous component could be seen separating the sheets of theca cells. Since the
differentiation between thecomas and fibromas is occasionally imprecise, some have used the
designation fibrothecoma 1. The ovarian mass in the present case demonstrated both spindle cells
and lipid containing cells with a box in appearance which indicate fibroma and thecoma,
respectively. Edema may be observed in fibrothecoma1, 2, and it can be massive if it is induced by

Mediterranean And The Tundra Compare And Contrast
Climates can be described as weather conditions that exist in over an extended period of time. The
Mediterranean and the Tundra are two of many climates that exist all over the world. .The
Mediterranean is located near the western side of continents, and the Tundra is found along the
coast of the Arctic ocean. Among the two there are many similarities and differences.
The Mediterranean doesn t experience very harsh weather, therefore the climate is mild. There are
only two seasons which are summer and winter. The seasonal changes that this area experiences
are due to changes in ocean currents and water temperatures. Summers in the Mediterranean are
dry and mild, and temperatures average above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Winters are mild and wet,
temperatures during this season are between 30 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Large bodies of water
and ocean currents are what cause the Mediterranean climate. During the summer cold currents
keep the climate mild and dry. In the winter warm water moves in and heats the land, but also
causes rain. The Mediterranean is overall a dry climate because the majority of the rain falls ...

In the summer snow and ice melt however, some permafrost still remains deep in the ground.
The permafrost prevents snow and ice from absorbing into the ground, so as a result bogs and

Fahrenheit. This polar climate experiences such harsh temperatures because of its high latitude
and indirect sunlight. Summer temperatures are cool, average temperatures don t go above 50
degrees Fahrenheit. The tundra doesn t receive very much rain, only about 5 15 inches per year.
No trees grow in the tundra because of the permafrost found deep in the ground. However, animals
who are able to survive the harsh climate are able to live here. These animals include polar bears,

Hornpipe Dance History
The hornpipe is a musical instrument and dance from the fifteen century , it has inspired many
different european musical stylings since it s inception. Many different people have used the

Polka is used as the first movements since the decks were pretty small they used this movement
to make room for the next steps. Arms fold is a technique that was created from the way soldiers
would carry their clean laundry. Since their hands were always filled with tar and dirt they
would fold their arms and hide the palms inside to keep the laundry clean. Cable Haul, this
movement was used to pull cable back and forth. Look Out by the name I am sure you can guess
what kind of gesture you would make. It is the same as if you were looking for attackers, you
look outwards and put your hand up to shade your eyes from the sun. The Pump technique uses a
lot of bold movements with your arms, as though your pumping a tire with air. When doing the
move called hoisting the sail you need to imagine yourself as a sailor literally hoisting the sail,
you have to show the strength needed to hoist the ropes after a long day at sea. All of these
moves are used on a daily basis for sailors so I am assuming it is a lot easier for them to perform
the proper steps. Hornpipes can often be mixed up with a few other types of dance for instance the
jig is the most commonly mistaken for a hornpipe. Another dance that is often confused with it is
schottische both dances have a hippy hop to them and the tune is very similar. There are many

A Brief Note On Water Supply And Sanitation
Water supply and sanitation is a problem in developing nations as they lack the proper resources
to install a water collection foundation. Bolivia can be considered a developing nation that has a
water supply problem as they do not necessarily have the proper infrastructure to supply their
population and they also lack a water regulation program. The village of Lupalaya is a small
settlement located at approximately 16.195 degrees latitude, 68.841 degrees longitude with an
estimated elevation of 12,600 ft above sea level on the shore of Lake Titicaca. The village is also
located 60 miles NW of the largest populous city in Boliviaof La Paz. Due to Lupalaya s proximity
to La Paz the village is greatly affected by the La Paz El Alto concession which led to the
privatization of water supplyand sanitation.
Introduction
Bolivia is a landlocked country located in central South America. The village of Lupalaya is
located five miles from the west central border with Peru on shore of Lake Titicaca. The village is
also located in a small mountain valley no more than .35 miles across. Lupalaya is also found on
the Altiplano at the high elevation of 12,600 ft above sea level. Even though Lupalaya is a small
village they are surrounded by many other villages and cities including the most populous city in
Bolivia, La Paz. Bolivia has a wet and a dry season throughout the year and this can turn into a
problem when the need for water is great but the groundwater levels are low,

Early Medieval Architecture
Early Medieval structures are typically built from a combination of stone and timber called half
timbered buildings (anything built earlier than the 11th century) and later built with just stone.
They were built with a secure base, easily defended because of the thick high walls, and secure
entry gates to protect from frontal attacks. Some even included keeps, turrets with small, high
windows (which provided protection for archers), and a moat or trench of water to deter
invaders. These buildings were also strategically placed next to bodies of water or mountains to
monitor and control access and resources in case of a siege. This building style was mostly
militaristic and less extravagant because the people in this period from 500 to 1000... Show more

two were the shapes of the structures the Castillo being made into the shape of a star and the
Windsor castle made into more of a circular type structure around the town, what type of stone
they were made with regular stone vs. Coquina, and how they were built, the Bastion system vs.
motte and bailey castle building, due to varying locations and advances in militaristic building
technology. There were more weapons on the Castillo and they were less about protecting the
people and more about protecting the gold. And ultimately the building of the Castillo was more
advanced because they had the time and greater wealth to develop something of a greater stature
than the fort and it wasn t just made for protection of the people but more so for the protection of
their assets. But without the engineering feats of the Windsor Castle the Castillo may never have
been built because it was a result of years and years of militaristic advances in building technology.

Analysis Of The Movie The Beer Wars Essay
THE BEER WARS DOCUMENTARY
On April 17th, 2009, the much awaited documentary, Beer Wars Documentary, was shown in many
cinemas across the United States. It s a documentary that discusses the grassroots efforts of the
craft beer industry having been filmed similar to a Michael Moore style documentary. It is a self
styled documentary by filmmaker Anat Baron portraying the beer industry in America from the
vantage of small artisanal brewers and specialty beer producers. During the 30 days preceding the
release, there was a flurry of social media activity that created a buzz about the documentary
creating its publicity. In the buzz, the brand promise of Beer Wars Documentary asserted that it
would take its viewers inside the boardrooms and backrooms of America s beer industry
The idea for the movie started in September 2005. The premise of the film is a David vs. Goliath
battle between the small artisan breweries vs. the big guys (aka. Miller, Coors, Anheuser Busch).
It showed a fascinating progression from the start of the movie to the end. For example, towards
the beginning, there were the BIG 3 (no, not the Boston Celtics big 3) AB, Miller and Coors.
During the time while the movie was made, Miller merged with Coors and AB was bought by the
International beer powerhouse INBEV.
As the film began, we were taken back by the writer and director of the film Arat Baron (who
formerly helped grow the Mike s Lemonade brand). The beginning and end of the film were live

The Positive Benefits Of The Electric Car
The electric car is an innovation that has been around for decades, yet people seem reluctant to
follow the trend. Electric car sales have not thrived on their own. According to Alissa Walker s
article, Car Ownership May Decrease in the U.S. Here s Why , electric cars make up an estimate
one percent of all cars currently owned in the United States. Changing policies will help us move
in a new direction towards the electric car. Countries like India, France, and Britain are setting
laws that ban the sale of internal combustion cars, which are cars powered by gasoline (Glinton).
Countries are already placing policies that can help increase electric car sales and help it
become a trend. Consumers are not willing to invest money into an innovation that is relatively
new and different. It is important to tell these consumers the positive benefits of the electric car.
Electric cars are a much better alternative, so more research and funding should go into
promoting the electric car and increasing sales. It is important to address the problems the
electric car has, so that improvements can be made. Consumer s negative opinions play a big part
on whether the electric car sales increase or not. Electric car sales can increase through improving
the electric car internally and externally, by increasing the amount of charging stations available,
by providing government incentives, training car salesmen, and by promoting awareness of the
positive benefits the electric car can provide. So why should we invest in improving electric car
sales? The benefits of electric cars seem endless. According to Ergon Energy, a government owned
corporation, a couple reasons why consumers should consider the electric car as their mode of
transportation because it is cheaper to run, cheaper to maintain compared to the petrol/diesel car.
There are many different parts of the car that are not needed that are used in internal combustion
cars like, expensive exhaust systems, starter motors, fuel injection systems, radiators, and many
other parts that are not needed in an electric vehicle(Benefits of Electric Cars). When consumers
drive an electric vehicle, they are contributing to the reduction of air pollution. Electric vehicles are

William Bradford Hardships
William Bradford created a detailed picture in our minds of the hardships the Pilgrims endured,
especially during their adventures on the Mayflower and Speedwell to find new land in hopes of
escaping England s control. Between furious seas, disease stricken passengers, and a cracked
beam on the Mayflower, the hope Pilgrims once had, was almost lost. Only the writings of William
Bradford could allow us to see what grueling torment our ancestors had to overcome.
Some of the many hardships that the sailors and passengers endured included furious storms,
terrible seasickness, abuse from the sailors and crew, dehydration and overall misery. The lack of
drinking water in combination with seasickness and no sanitation quickly grasped the bodies on
board. Drinking only beer, and lots of it, enabled the sailors and crewmembers to no point of
responsible reaction to mending the ship. Centuries ago, beer was so unfiltered that only a cup
would be enough to enable a child. Of course with drunkenness comes irresponsibility, and I m

Eastlyn Koons Robots Are Better Than Humans
The increased development of artificial intelligence and the everyday use of technology can

lives in the modern day where advancements are being made every day in the field of technology
and artificial intelligence machines have started to replace the jobs of some people. People fear
the uprising of robot rebellion and an inevitable Doomsday because of it. Through appeals to fear
and pride, Koons asks the world to consider the use of technology in their lives and the role it may
play in the future. Koons starts off the intro of her satirical essay by using sarcasm and rhetorical in
order to show the audience what is happening with the world at that time and establish the satire of
her essay. In the first sentence, Koons claims that robots are better than humans, as they are humans
favorite things , suggesting that the humans basically created their own better version. Koons
utilizes a rhetorical question to ask why humans are still there , showcasing the dispensability and
non necessity of humans when robots are present. By doing so, Koons demonstrates that humans
have, in a way, become the cause of their own downfall. After establishing the satirical nature of her

expressing through this quote is that if people want to see a change in the earth that they were
going to have to do it themselves. In no way was he trying to bypass God, but expressing that this

This form of Judaism is known as the Ultra Orthodox side of Judaism (Cowling, 275). They are
known to live in isolation from the world, and have a strict commitment to the Torahin everyday
life (Cowling, 275). Danny was raised in this kind of Judaism and was next in line to take his
fathers place. Red Saunders Danny s father states, The land of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob should
be built by Jewish goyim, by contaminated men? [...] Never! Not while I live! (Potok, 197). He

Indian Boarding School Research Paper
Indian Boarding schools were the best way to convert people and their beliefs that potentially
disrupted the way of the manifest destiny. These schools would take young Indian children and
assimilate them to the Anglo American way of life. The highest priority of these Indian schools
were to teach the Indian youth reading and writing the Mathematics, English language, history,
science, and the arts hopefully encouraging the self directing power of thought. Religious education
and training in Christianity was taught. Political structure, institutions, and principles of a
democratic society were part of the citizenship training. All this effort was to eliminate all trace of
the Indian culture.
One of the harshest critics was Gertude Bonnin (Zitkala Sa: Red Bird ), a famous Indian author and
artist who once taught at the Carlisle Indian School. According to Zitkala Sa, the boarding school
system was a miserable state of cultural dislocation, that created problems long after the children
returned home. (Yu) The passion for Native American representation began with Zitkala Sa
personal heritage and on going desire to retain the American ... Show more content on

The long braids worn by Indian boys were cut off. The children were made to wear standard
uniforms. The children were given new white names, including surnames, as it was felt this would
help when they inherited property. Traditional Native foods were abandoned, forcing students to
acquire the food rites of white society, including the use of knives, forks, spoons, napkins and
tablecloths. In addition, students were forbidden to speak their Native languages, even to each
other. The Carlisle school rewarded those who refrained from speaking their own language; most
other boarding schools relied on punishment to achieve this aim.

Diagnosis And Treatment Of The Thoracic Spine
The thoracic spine is considered the least vulnerable to a disc herniation due to anatomic stability.
Although they are rare, physically demanding jobs, trauma, and extreme sports can lead to a
thoracic disc herniation (TDH). In order to be effectively treated, a TDH needs to be successfully
diagnosed. Successful diagnosis relies on a good differential diagnosis and magnetic resonance
imaging (MRI), the gold standard for visualizing a disc herniation. Once diagnosed, there are many
treatment options, which range from conservative care to invasive surgery. Rehabilitative therapy
can be an effective and safe way to manage a TDH. Surgery can also be effective, but there are
serious complications and risks associated. Considering patients with... Show more content on

Over the course of 15 treatments, the patient s symptoms improved and eventually disappeared.
Five months later, an MRI study of the patient displayed significant regression of the TDH. This
case is a good example regarding the positive impact of conservative care on the management of a
TDH. Although a disc herniation may naturally regress overtime, rehabilitation can support the
process and help restore function.
Rehabilitation can be an effective short term therapy, but the long term effects are questionable. As
discussed earlier, the soccer player studied by Baranto et al. (2) was promptly diagnosed and
treated conservatively for a TDH. This athlete went through a physical therapy trial and eventually
was symptom free. When the symptoms resolved, the soccer player continued to train while
gradually increasing the intensity. By the following soccer season, the player suffered a similar
episode and was diagnosed with a recurrent TDH. Once again, the patient was symptom free after
conservative treatment and playing soccer. About a year passed when he experienced another onset
of symptoms during training, and was then advised to stop playing. This patient was prone to
reoccurrence, which questions the long term effects of treatment. Timely and compliant treatment
got this athlete back on the field, but the intensity of the sport hindered the healing process.
Although not all TDH s are promptly diagnosed, they can still be managed effectively once
discovered. This

The Potential for Future Crop Loss Essay
The Potential for Future Crop Loss
On the subject of potential crop loss there are several variables, which influence drought and plant
disease resulting in a loss of crops.
The first variable is that of drought. Drought is a result of shifting weather patterns, which changes
the amount of precipitation an area receives. There are three major causes of drought, deficient and
unfavorably distributed precipitation, excess heat and warm winds (Nemanishen, 1998, p.35).
Historically the grasslands of North America have had a highly varied climate with years of
drought immediately followed by years of sufficient precipitation. For example, in the area of the
Palliser Triangle in the grasslands of Canada, wheat crop loss has been seen ... Show more content

Krick identified twelve major North American weather patters which paved the way for long term
weather forecasts that are now used universally in farming and crop production (Nemanishen, 1998,
p.27). It is understood that migratory cold blows bring moisture to the Great Plains and grasslands
it is important to track these cold blows in order to identify wet and drought seasons. Also
understood is the effect humans have on the weather patterns. At least two of the past three major
droughts have coincided with changes in the general circulation of the atmosphere over the
northern hemisphere (Borchert, 1971, p.7). It is undeniable that human use of land has modified
atmospheric moisture patterns. Also effecting moisture patterns is solar radiation. For example, in
years with high volcanic activity solar radiation was lower because the atmosphere was not as
transparent. Higher solar radiation results in less precipitation due to excess heat resulting in
drought (Nemanishen, 1998, p.36). It is difficult to deny that drought occurs rhythmically, however,
on account of the great randomness of weather we are only able to forecast when the next drought
may be and gauge its severity depending on what is known about the previous years.
Another variable resulting in crop loss is that of plant disease, and more specifically late blight.
Late blight is caused by the plant pathogen Phytophthora infestans

What Career Paths Would Better Suit My Preferences
1.Introduction0
2.Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Personality Test0

1.Introduction
The purpose of this report is to use the available personality tests to provide us, as an individual
with a more detailed understanding of our mental preferences. I will compare and contrast the
results from the three tests I undertake and use them to find out what career paths would better
suit my preferences. The knowledge I will gain about myself and about Belbin s theory of team
roles will allow me to work out what role would best suit me on our team working field exercise.

The final letter combines the previous two. [3]
2.2 MBTI RESULTS
My assigned 4 letter Myers Briggs Type Indicator was ESTJ. This translates too Extraversion,
Sensing, Thinking, Judging. I found when completing the test that it was in some cases hard to
pick an answer due to being swayed by both sides of the preferences, but following the advice on
the site, if you think back to when you were younger than twelve years of age and ask yourself the
question, then that is your answer, as the core of our cognitive organisation is fixed by this age. [3]
2.4 COMAPARING TO SELF PERCEPTION
When comparing my own self perception to my MBTI, I agree on the majority of the results. I
personally think that I gain most of my energy from the outside world and the people around me. I
enjoy another person s company and I do feel cut off when I am unable to interact with others.
However, I feel I have some introverted characteristics such as, thinking and reflecting first before I
act as I like to analyse situations and decisions, along with sometimes preferring one to one
communication and relationships. [3]
I agree with the test about my way of understanding being based around sensing. I feel I use my
common sense to create practical solutions, rather than using my imagination and inventing new
possibilities. [3]
For the third letter I base my judgements and

Difference Between Drama And Drama
Theater and Drama
Drama means to act or to do from the Greek dran. It means action literally. It is a composition in
prose for enactment intended to portray life or character or to tell a story by action and dialogue.
It is a process geared to the participant and does not require a formal audience.
Theatre is a building specifically designed for the purpose of presenting dramatic performances
before an audience (Collier, 1995). It includes drama activities which may lead to formal
presentation of a scripted play involving acting, directing, designing, and other technical aspects.
The Basic Elements of Theatre (Terrin Adair Lynch)

It arouses pity and fear in the audience as it witnesses the action. In classical tragedy we find a
protagonist at the center of the drama that is a great person, usually of upper class birth. Tragedy
involves the audience in the action and creates tension and expectation.
Comedy
This genre should have the view of a comic spirit and is physical and energetic. It is tied up in
rebirth and renewal. This is the reason most comedy end in weddings, which suggest a union of a
couple and the expected birth of children. Comedy creates light feelings. The playwright uses comic
devices such as exaggeration, incongruity, surprise, repetition, wisecracks, and sarcasm.
Melodrama
Melodrama is drama of disaster and differs from tragedy significantly. The protagonist is usually
a victim of circumstance. He is acted upon by the antagonist or anti hero and suffers without
having to accept responsibility and inevitability of fate. Melodrama has a sense of strict moral
judgment. All issues presented in the plays are resolved in a well defined way. The good
characters are rewarded and the bad characters are punished in a means that fits the

This allowed media businesses to undertake both horizontal and vertical integration. Horizontal integration is where a business diversifies its operation by owning subsidiaries of different sectors (Deloitte 2012). For instance, Time Warner is known print media, news networks and movie productions houses. On the other hand, vertical integration can be defined as businesses owning a business with one main stream of business or practice. Thus, loosening of cross ownership restrictions gave room for business to expand to different units and to the global market. A new approach to media business that emerged was the convergence of business. Convergence of business is where two, proportionately big firms, join to share audience as well as brand names (McChesney 2001). A notable case of convergence in the U.S. media industry was the convergence between AOL and Time Warner. While other convergences have also been experienced, the economic results have been mixed. The AOL merger experienced difficult economic conditions that they later preferred to de converge. Why it was a big morale booster for the South, but a disappointment for the North? It all started in the year 1862. General George McCellen currently controls the army of the Potomac. When it was determined that McCellen was a bad general, in December of 1862 he was replaced with General Ambrose Burnside. Within a week, Burnside decided on a campaign to the Southern capitol, Richmond. He told his plans to Lincoln and Lincoln approved, but told Burnside the only way for a win was to move quickly. Burnside also had one regiment of engineers to build the pontoons to cross the river. (See Map 1) While Burnside had been waiting for two weeks he saw how the Confederates were positioned; even though the Confederates had the advantage he still believed he could win. The night before Burnside was going to start building the pontoons, he sent a message to Lincoln saying, We hope to succeed. So, on the night of Wednesday, December 10, 1862, the engineers started to build the pontoons. However, another general from the South, General Will Barkslade, was right above the area where the engineers were and whenever a soldier went to check on the progress of the pontoons, the Confederates would shoot at them. Now that everything was off schedule, Burnside knew that the Confederate general was getting ready to attack. So, Burnside ordered Brigadier General Henry to take 147 heavy caliber guns and shoot at the Confederates at Stafford Heights. The shooting lasted for an hour. During that hour, 70 solid shots were fired a minute and that firing destroyed the town of Fredericksburg instead of the Confederates. There are double standards against women in magazines, on TV, in movies, the news, politics, and the workplace. The media is an influential part of modern culture. When women are portrayed as objects for men to use never as the protagonist or president and when female news anchors are objectified, this will cause girls of all ages to begin viewing themselves as objects. He used LimeWire, a free peer to peer file sharing program, on his computer to download child pornography from the Internet. Det. Sgt. Darren Parisien of the Saskatoon Police Service, using publicly accessible software, searched for anyone sharing child pornography. He could access whatever another user of the software had in his or her shared folder. He could also obtain two numbers related to a given user: the IP address that matches to the specific Internet connection through which a computer accesses the Internet and the globally unique identifier (GUID) number assigned to each computer using particular software. The IP address of the computer is displayed as part of the file sharing process. Det. Sgt. Parisien created a list of IP addresses for computers that had shared what he believed to be child pornography. He then ran that list of IP addresses against a database which matches IP addresses with approximate locations. He found that one of the IP addresses was suspected to be in Saskatoon, with Shaw as the ISP. Det. Sgt. Parisien then determined that Mr. Spencer s computer was online and connected to LimeWire. Consider this statement with reference to the pattern of class struggle that Marx sees appearing under capitalism. Through my analysis of Marx and Engel s The Communist Manifesto I have come to somewhat agree with their view that in the end the Proletariat always come out on top. It seems to me that it is nothing but a vicious circle . Marx comments that through our history there has always been evidence of two classes, in other words: the rich and the poor, he makes the claim that there has forever been the server and the served: ...we find almost everywhere a complicated arrangement of society ... Marx discusses in this piece the ever changing nature of systems, from the Feudal system to the manufacturing system to the Industrial system, The feudal system of industry...now no longer sufficed...The manufacturing system took it s place...Thereupon, steam and machinery revolutionised industrial production. (D.Mclellan, Marx, OUP 1977) pg 223. Therefore the middle man was cut out, he was no longer important, the division between the powerful and powerless grew to become much more. The place of manufacture was taken by the giant, Modern Industry, the place of the industrial middle class, by industrial millionaires, the leaders of the whole industrial armies, the modern bourgeois. Marx, in my opinion alludes that the Bourgeois have ruined many of the more caring and loving parts of our society. The family is an institution that has been present for many centuries, people associate the family as the core of a person s development, the way a person is brought up essentially shapes the rest of one s life, the person one become, the way one live one s life and the way in which one s relationships develop in adult life. The bourgeoisie has torn away from the family its sentimental veil, and has reduced the family relation to a mere money relation. (D.Mclellan, Marx, OUP 1977) pg 224. The gentry of Virginia was not pleased with this decision, since they invested in the land and were now legally hindered to sell it. Other settlers, like squatters, just settled there, but the gentry had to respect the resolution of their own Privy Council. So they started to petition the Council, but without success. Holton argues that the Indians were able to influence the British government to a certain point not to allow American settlers to settle in the Ohio Valley, because the British simply did not want to spend money for British troops that would eventually have to protect the settlers from Indian assaults. They hoped to prevent a new costly war in America. The problem for the gentry was that В… the Virginia Executive Council had no choice but to void the hundreds of surveys that had been done for Virginia speculators and to put a halt to further surveying. This setback only intensified the speculators effort to persuade the government to let them have Kentucky and the adjacent region. But the British government did not repeal the act. This caused many of the gentry s members who speculated for land in Kentucky to be displeased and lose a great deal of money. The Mediterranean and the Tundra are two of many climates that exist all over the world. .The Mediterranean is located near the western side of continents, and the Tundra is found along the coast of the Arctic ocean. Among the two there are many similarities and differences. The Mediterranean doesn t experience very harsh weather, therefore the climate is mild. There are only two seasons which are summer and winter. The seasonal changes that this area experiences are due to changes in ocean currents and water temperatures. Summers in the Mediterranean are dry and mild, and temperatures average above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Winters are mild and wet, temperatures during this season are between 30 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Large bodies of water and ocean currents are what cause the Mediterranean climate. Early Medieval Architecture Early Medieval structures are typically built from a combination of stone and timber called half timbered buildings (anything built earlier than the 11th century) and later built with just stone. Some even included keeps, turrets with small, high windows (which provided protection for archers), and a moat or trench of water to deter invaders. Electric car sales have not thrived on their own. According to Alissa Walker s article, Car Ownership May Decrease in the U.S. Here s Why , electric cars make up an estimate one percent of all cars currently owned in the United States. Changing policies will help us move in a new direction towards the electric car. Countries like India, France, and Britain are setting laws that ban the sale of internal combustion cars, which are cars powered by gasoline (Glinton). Countries are already placing policies that can help increase electric car sales and help it become a trend. Consumers are not willing to invest money into an innovation that is relatively new and different. It is important to tell these consumers the positive benefits of the electric car. Electric cars are a much better alternative, so more research and funding should go into promoting the electric car and increasing sales. It is important to address the problems the electric car has, so that improvements can be made. Consumer s negative opinions play a big part on whether the electric car sales increase or not. Electric car sales can increase through improving the electric car internally and externally, by increasing the amount of charging stations available, by providing government incentives, training car salesmen, and by promoting awareness of the positive benefits the electric car can provide. Some of the many hardships that the sailors and passengers endured included furious storms, terrible seasickness, abuse from the sailors and crew, dehydration and overall misery. Traditional Native foods were abandoned, forcing students to acquire the food rites of white society, including the use of knives, forks, spoons, napkins and tablecloths. In addition, students were forbidden to speak their Native languages, even to each other. The Carlisle school rewarded those who refrained from speaking their own language; most other boarding schools relied on punishment to achieve this aim. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Diagnosis And Treatment Of The Thoracic Spine The thoracic spine is considered the least vulnerable to a disc herniation due to anatomic stability. Although they are rare, physically demanding jobs, trauma, and extreme sports can lead to a thoracic disc herniation (TDH). In order to be effectively treated, a TDH needs to be successfully diagnosed. Successful diagnosis relies on a good differential diagnosis and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the gold standard for visualizing a disc herniation. Once diagnosed, there are many treatment options, which range from conservative care to invasive surgery. Rehabilitative therapy can be an effective and safe way to manage a TDH. Surgery can also be effective, but there are serious complications and risks associated. Considering patients with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Over the course of 15 treatments, the patient s symptoms improved and eventually disappeared. Five months later, an MRI study of the patient displayed significant regression of the TDH. This case is a good example regarding the positive impact of conservative care on the management of a TDH. Although a disc herniation may naturally regress overtime, rehabilitation can support the process and help restore function. Rehabilitation can be an effective short term therapy, but the long term effects are questionable. As discussed earlier, the soccer player studied by Baranto et al. (2) was promptly diagnosed and treated conservatively for a TDH. This athlete went through a physical therapy trial and eventually was symptom free. When the symptoms resolved, the soccer player continued to train while gradually increasing the intensity. By the following soccer season, the player suffered a similar episode and was diagnosed with a recurrent TDH. Once again, the patient was symptom free after conservative treatment and playing soccer. About a year passed when he experienced another onset of symptoms during training, and was then advised to stop playing. This patient was prone to reoccurrence, which questions the long term effects of treatment. Timely and compliant treatment got this athlete back on the field, but the intensity of the sport hindered the healing process. Although not all TDH s are promptly diagnosed, they can still be managed effectively once discovered. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The Potential for Future Crop Loss Essay The Potential for Future Crop Loss On the subject of potential crop loss there are several variables, which influence drought and plant disease resulting in a loss of crops. The first variable is that of drought. Drought is a result of shifting weather patterns, which changes the amount of precipitation an area receives. There are three major causes of drought, deficient and unfavorably distributed precipitation, excess heat and warm winds (Nemanishen, 1998, p.35). Historically the grasslands of North America have had a highly varied climate with years of drought immediately followed by years of sufficient precipitation. For example, in the area of the Palliser Triangle in the grasslands of Canada, wheat crop loss has been seen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Krick identified twelve major North American weather patters which paved the way for long term weather forecasts that are now used universally in farming and crop production (Nemanishen, 1998, p.27). It is understood that migratory cold blows bring moisture to the Great Plains and grasslands it is important to track these cold blows in order to identify wet and drought seasons. Also understood is the effect humans have on the weather patterns. At least two of the past three major droughts have coincided with changes in the general circulation of the atmosphere over the northern hemisphere (Borchert, 1971, p.7). It is undeniable that human use of land has modified atmospheric moisture patterns. Also effecting moisture patterns is solar radiation. For example, in years with high volcanic activity solar radiation was lower because the atmosphere was not as transparent. Higher solar radiation results in less precipitation due to excess heat resulting in drought (Nemanishen, 1998, p.36). It is difficult to deny that drought occurs rhythmically, however, on account of the great randomness of weather we are only able to forecast when the next drought may be and gauge its severity depending on what is known about the previous years. Another variable resulting in crop loss is that of plant disease, and more specifically late blight. Late blight is caused by the plant pathogen Phytophthora infestans ... What Career Paths Would Better Suit My Preferences 1.Introduction0 2.Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Personality Test0 References0 1.Introduction The purpose of this report is to use the available personality tests to provide us, as an individual with a more detailed understanding of our mental preferences. I will compare and contrast the results from the three tests I undertake and use them to find out what career paths would better suit my preferences. The knowledge I will gain about myself and about Belbin s theory of team roles will allow me to work out what role would best suit me on our team working field exercise. 2.Myers Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI) Personality Test 2.1 WHAT IS THE MYERS BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR (MBTI) The MBTI was created from the theories from a ... This translates too Extraversion, Sensing, Thinking, Judging. I found when completing the test that it was in some cases hard to pick an answer due to being swayed by both sides of the preferences, but following the advice on the site, if you think back to when you were younger than twelve years of age and ask yourself the question, then that is your answer, as the core of our cognitive organisation is fixed by this age. [3] 2.4 COMAPARING TO SELF PERCEPTION When comparing my own self perception to my MBTI, I agree on the majority of the results. I personally think that I gain most of my energy from the outside world and the people around me. I enjoy another person s company and I do feel cut off when I am unable to interact with others. However, I feel I have some introverted characteristics such as, thinking and reflecting first before I act as I like to analyse situations and decisions, along with sometimes preferring one to one communication and relationships. [3] I agree with the test about my way of understanding being based around sensing. I feel I use my common sense to create practical solutions, rather than using my imagination and inventing new possibilities. [3] For the third letter I base my judgements and ... • 44. Difference Between Drama And Drama Theater and Drama Drama means to act or to do from the Greek dran. It means action literally. It is a composition in prose for enactment intended to portray life or character or to tell a story by action and dialogue. It is a process geared to the participant and does not require a formal audience. Theatre is a building specifically designed for the purpose of presenting dramatic performances before an audience (Collier, 1995). It is tied up in rebirth and renewal. This is the reason most comedy end in weddings, which suggest a union of a couple and the expected birth of children. Comedy creates light feelings. The playwright uses comic devices such as exaggeration, incongruity, surprise, repetition, wisecracks, and sarcasm. Melodrama Melodrama is drama of disaster and differs from tragedy significantly. The protagonist is usually a victim of circumstance. He is acted upon by the antagonist or anti hero and suffers without having to accept responsibility and inevitability of fate. Melodrama has a sense of strict moral judgment. All issues presented in the plays are resolved in a well defined way. The good characters are rewarded and the bad characters are punished in a means that fits the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
