The movie Hacksaw Ridge by Mel Gibson encapsulates the vicious fighting
between the Americans and Japanese during the battle of Okinawa. The movie
depicts the struggle Private Desmond Doss (played by Andrew Garfield) during
boot camp, and battle, faced from his fellow soldiers because of his extreme
religious practices. In the middle of the film, during boot camp, we can see that the
platoon bully Doss in the barracks, especially Private Smitty. In this scene, through
