the big movers in the field of occupational therapy and eating disorder recovery, I felt I was

Racial discrimination by the Anglo Americans was spread across all races as described in the
discussion above. The Anglo Americans were keen to protect their ethnicity and culture, and as

In 1853, Western imperialism was at its height. It was spreading to several countries. The British
colonized India, the Dutch colonized Indonesia, the United States colonized the Philippines, and
the French colonized Vietnam. In 1929, the crash of the stock market brought a worldwide
depression, known as the Great Depression. The depression caused instability in many countries.
International commerce declined and tax revenues, profits, and personal income decreased. The

All throughout the history of Tulsa, Oklahoma there has been many racially charged tragedies that
have happened. Many people believe that the so called Brady Street, which was named after the
founding father of Tulsa, Wyatt Tate Brady, should be changed due to his membership with the Ku
Klux Klan. In 2013, business owners in Tulsawanted and are still, in 2017, wanting to change the
Brady street named after W.T. Brady and name it Brady street after the Civil War photographer. I
believe that it should not be changed just because of the story behind Wyatt Tate Brady and how
much he truly was involved with The Tulsa Outrage and The Race Riot and what The Brady
District is today. One of the most horrific events that happened in 1917 was the Tulsa Outrage.
The Tulsa Outrage was most known for when seventeen men were murdered. One late November
night a group of about fifty men dressed in all black known as the Wobblies approached
seventeen men. The seventeen men were then pulled from the lineup, tied to a tree, a Knight
approached every man with a double piece of hemp rope and whipped the victim s back until
blood draped their backs. Another man stepped forward and slathered boiling tar on the victim s
backs with a paint brush, coating him from head to seat. The final act of humiliation, the Knight
then padded the victim s back with feathers from a down pillow (Chapman 2). According to
multiple interviews conducted by National Civil Liberties Bureau Investigator L.A.

The Effects of the Natural Environment
The use of the natural environment allows the readers to capture the essence of a work through
the display of the seasons, sea, weather, and the land. The novel, The Sound of Waves, presents a
case of two young lovers from the rural, simplistic fishing island of Uta Jima. As the novel
progresses, the young lovers face multiple struggles that are resolved towards the end of the work.
Commonly used in The Sound of Waves, Yukio Mishimaemploys the sea to display the protagonist,
Shinji s, dreams, thoughts and emotions, further the text, and resolve the conflict in the novel,
through the the description of the natural environment, allowing it to engage the readers.
Without reservation, Mishima allows Shinji s dreams, thoughts and emotions of happiness and
sadness to flow freely within the natural environment. Mishima utilizes the sea to reflect Shinji s
dreams of owning a boat and a fishing business of his own. Shinji has an impossible dreams of
great adventure across the sea (Mishima 19). By expressing Shinji hopes of exploring the sea,
Mishima describes the sea and his dreams together with high admiration. Mishima also juxtaposed
the known and unknown with the motif of sea. Which, in turn, reflected Shinji s emotion of
uncertainty as Shinji was uncertain about his future with Hatsue and who she is.
As he ocean reflects Shinji s emotion of uncertainty, Mishima also allows the ocean to mimics
