Consequences Of The Middle Passage
With South Carolina s fertile land that was great for growing crops, such as rice, indigo, and
cotton, it wasn t long before slaves began being brought into the colony. Many people came to
South Carolina from the Barbados and already had a well developed slave system in place, so
they brought it with them. While some slaves came from the Barbados, most of the slaves were
brought over from Africa, and more specifically, the west coast of Africa. From Africa, they
travelled to the New World via Middle Passage. The Middle Passage was part of the triangular
trade that existed between America, Europe, and Africa. It was an extremely harsh boat ride in
which slaves from Africa were brought to the West Indies. The Africans were tightly packed

The Characters Of Genenys In A Separate Peace By John Knowles
The word naive is an adjective used to describe someone deficient in worldly wisdom or informed
judgment. The word daring is an adjective used to describe someone that is venturesomely bold in
action or thought. What is the connection between these two characteristics? They both describe
the character Phineas, the central character of A Separate Peace. In A Separate Peace, John Knowles
employs dialogue and actions to characterize Phineas as a naive and daring static character.
John Knowles implies Phineas is naive through the implementation of dialogue. Phineas
confesses to Gene that [he] hope[s] [Gene is] having a pretty good time here... you can t come
by yourself, and at this teenage period in life the proper person is your best pal. (48). The boys
live in a masculine society where they are expected to be strong. To expose one s feelings to
someone else is often considered social suicide. Gene takes advantage of Phineas naivetivГ© by
not responding to his declaration of friendship. Phineas also asserted that when you really love
something, then it loves you back, in whatever way it has to love (111). Phineas philosophy is
centered around a world of youth of peace; he always tries to find the best in everyone. This naive
attitude contrasts with the cruel nature of the world, where wars and competitions are common
occurrences. At Gene s trial for Phineas fall, Phineas asks Gene if [he] was down at the bottom in a
concerned, friendly tone. Phineas fear of

that is operated by the government. The Government helps HMO meet federal standards and
provides loans and grants to organizations. Employers having more than twenty five employees
offer HMO as an alternative health treatment plan for employees. The federal government
reimburses the HMOs on a per capita basis, this means HMOs are paid on a fixed per capita
amount. In order for an employer to qualify for HMO they must provide proof they can provide
comprehensive health care and show performance reports such as medical records to the offices

Greater Access to the Internet Has Enabled Buyers to...
Greater access to the internet has enabled buyers to search more easily for information about
potential suppliers of goods and services. This has significantly affected many industries, such as
insurance, banking, retailing and travel. To what extent do you think that increased internet usage
inevitably reduces producers profits? Justify your answer with reference to organizations and/or
industries that you know.
Over the past decade, Shopping on the internet has skyrocketed with internet sales reaching almost

Some products would not be sold in Jessops but would be sold online resulting in losses of
potential revenue for Jessops. Another market which has slowly died is the demand for printing
of photos, due to social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook people don t need to share
their photos in a physical format and are capable of simply sending the picture via these social
websites. In this case of selling products it was a massive drawback for Jessops but turned out to
be an advantage for competitors such as Amazon. The increased number of internet users leads to
benefits for Amazon who thrive off increased internet usage due to consumers finding it a cheaper
alternative to Jessops.
The internet can also be a good source of primary market research which enables firms such as
Amazon to analyze prices of different websites. This would give the opportunity for Amazon to
perhaps reduce prices or introduce offers which would help them sell more products. I believe it
is entirely up to the company, this kind of competition would perhaps not effect Amazon due to
their size in the market and their reliability where customers instantly visit Amazon knowing they
will be given a fair price and receive their purchased item quickly. However, it did affect Jessops
who failed to respond to demand and lower prices resulting in there imminent administration. I don
t believe that the increased usage of the internet reduces profits as some firms can be incredibly

Speech On Diet And Nutrition
Anyone who is on a quest to live a long and healthy life should understands how important diet and
nutrition are to achieving the physically healthy body. Most of us delve deep into exercise and
healthy eating but we gloss over the topic of nutrition. There is a distinction that should be made
between diet and nutrition, these two concepts are mutually exclusive. Dieting involves making
sure we eat right, cut out the fats and the carbs, count daily calorie intake in our quest to either
lose weight or get back to a healthier size. Nutrition looks at the food we eat. It has to do with
what our body derives from what we feed it in terms of nutrients.
In order to understand the role of food in your life you need to be educated about the kinds of
food you should be eating and those that you need to steer clear of. The Cardinal Rule when it
comes to food and fitness is that you need food to function, food is the fuel that will get you
through your workout, help push you to do more and be more, however not all food is good for
you. Beyond ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Descriptive Essay On A Rare Bird
A quiet bird. One that lived deep inside the forest. One that was barely seen when wanderers
passed the green and brown of the trees, and the underwood, the grass and the leaves. All they ve
seen was the sunlight filtered through this army of leaves above their heads and in height of
their eyes, caressing their faces as they pass through a void of never ending emerald. The tears of
a bygone night moistened their cheeks and they d ignore the mourning. Footsteps sunk deep into
the velvet ground covered by moss. They sank so deep that the strollers were afraid of being
locked into this green hell forever. Dragonflies and other winged insects rose with the last remains
of mist that told the story of a lonely, rare bird. The strollers stopped walking... Show more content

Instead, I am a bird and the hunter caught me. A big, darkly dressed fellow with dead eyes and
skin as bright as silk when it lay in my mother s hand. The silk my mother s face was covered in
when she died. Her face gone, hidden beneath a layer of expensive fabric. I never understood
why they would do such a thing, hiding a face of a beloved beneath a cover. Then, the hunter
grabbed me tight and put me into a wooden cage. He tapped his finger against it and smiled at
me. Surely, he did not mean me harm, but he harmed me anyway. I cannot flap my wings, I can
no longer fly, no longer can I graze the air with my coat. All what is left that I can do is to sing,
but not too loud or they ll place a cover across my cage and hide what I was once. Maybe it will
be silk and they will mourn me, too? When I sing, it is quiet. I recall the many shades light took

Black Narrows Descriptive Writing
The Black Narrows. It is at the far south end of the city, underground in the old urban where

humans have actually been living above the ground. A lot of people still live there. Mostly
people who can t get jobs or want to get away from the Order. Demons never go down there, not

seconds turn into minutes and those minutes turn into almost an hour, I start to worry. What if
this demon, Daemn isn t in the system? What if he s just some rogue demon who just goes

Essay on Tracking Metastasis and Tricking Cancer
Carcinoma is a cancer that begins to develop in epithelial cells. These cells include the lining or
tissue of an organ or in the skin (Australian Institute of Health Welfare Australasian Association of
Cancer, 2012). There are two types of carcinoma cells, basal cells and squamous cells (American
CancerSociety, 2012). Basal cell carcinomas are the cells that develop in the basal cell layer of
the epidermis (American Cancer Society, 2012). Squamous cell carcinomas are cells that are more
likely to develop in the fatty tissue beneath the skin (American Cancer Society, 2012). The
squamous cell carcinoma are more likely to spread to the lymph nodes and surrounding tissues in

Tumour markers are detectable cancer cells that are found in the spinal fluid, urine or blood
(Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). They can include enzymes, hormones, antigens or genes (Craft,
Gordon Tiziani, 2011).Tumour markers are beneficial, in that they are able to identify high risk
cancers in individuals (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). They also help by diagnosing different
cancer types (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011).There are different markers that are able to identify
different cancer types (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). For example, Prostrate specific antigen
(PSA) identifies prostate cancer cells and a fetoprotein (AFP) identifies Hepatic cancer cells
(Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). There is a disadvantage of using tumour markers, and that is that
some non cancerous tissues produce markers (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). Therefore, to
determine whether a patient has cancer, additional tests are necessary (Craft, Gordon Tiziani,
2011). Sentinel nodes are lymph nodes that receive the bodies waste first (Craft, Gordon Tiziani,
2011). It is believed that the cancer cells are metastasised to these nodes before spreading to
other nodes of the body (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). To identify these nodes, dye or a
radioactive tracer is used to locate the node and determine an accurate stage of cancer (Craft,
Gordon Tiziani, 2011). Thrombocytopenia is a

Heat Is The Transfer Of Thermal Energy Between...
Heat is the transfer of thermal energy between substances. Thermal energy is the kinetic energy of
moving particles of matter. If you go camping, you usually build a fire to sit around at night. Have
you ever wondered why a marshmallow cooks without touching the flame, why the smoke rises, or
why water in a pan boils? Heatcan move from one object to another in three different ways:
conduction, convection and radiation.
Some sources of heat may include the following: the sun, friction, and the earth. Life on earth
depends on the sun. The sun provides heat/light for the entire solar system. A person could generate
a fire by rubbing two sticks together. The Earth contains much heat seep inside. Some of the heat
escapes to the surface ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thermal energy radiates through air from a fire causing the fire s energy to transfer to the
marshmallow.
As stated before, thermal conductor occurs when particles of warmer matter bump into particles
of cooler matter and transfer some of their thermal energy to the cooler particles. Conduction is
usually faster in certain solids and liquids than in gases. Returning to the example of a camp
fire; what happens if you use an old metal hangar to roast hot dogs? As the hot dogs cooks, the
fire heats the end of the hanger. If we leave the hanger in the fire long enough, eventually the end
we are holding will become too hot for us to handle. The flames to the metal were transferred by
the heat, and then from molecule to molecule in the hanger. Now, what would have happened if
you had chosen a stick to roast your hot dog? Though the stick may have caught fire, it would not
have conducted the heat to your hand. This is because wood is a very poor heat conductor.
Heat insulators are materials that do not let heat move through them easily. They do not conduct
heat well. Plastic, wood and some fabrics are good thermal insulators. Thermal insulators are good
at keeping heat out and keeping heat in. A winter scarf is a good example of a thermal insulator. It
stops the heat from your body escaping into the cold air.
Temperature is defined as the average kinetic energy of the particles of matter. When

Not all oils within the same viscosity have the exact specifications, most engine oil
manufacturers provide a specification data sheet that shows all the oil properties including
oxidation, bearing wear and much more. Experienced mechanics will recommend oil to be
chanted every three thousand miles or less. The reason for the three thousand miles or less
interval is because mechanics have seen thousands of engine failures due to long oil intervals or
no oil changes for years. Several owners drive years without changing the oil and later realize
that the engine oil has oxidized lost its viscosity and turned into sludge. Although a special high
mileage oil is available for the public at any auto parts store, and the high mileage oil has had an
excellent result in the past with engine wear and oxidation test results. All high mileage oils are
recommended by mechanics for automobiles with fifty thousand miles or more and those
vehicles showing five years of age or more. Vehicle history is extraordinarily important for an oil
change service. The vehicle history shows specific oil type used in the past and crucial dates and
places the services were performed. Historical documents will help any new car or used car owner
develop a service plan for the car s engine. After choosing the desired oil

Atticus Day Of Atonement
Leviticus 16 is read and interpreted as the Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur. The biblically stated
purpose of Yom Kippur, which is significantly different to the Rabbinic purpose, is to purify the
Mishkan (Tabernacle) and to purify the high priests, priests, and the people of Israel. The concepts
of holy clean and unclean are intrinsic to understanding Leviticus. Since God is holy, then anything
that comes in close contact of God must also be holy. The Mishkan, its contents, the High Priests,
Priests and the sacrificial animals all must be holy. When Aaron enters the Mishkan on the first Day
of Atonement, various rituals have to take place as he can only enter after following the prescribed
set of ritual procedures. Everything that will be taken to the Mishkan that day, including himself,
need to be holy and free from impurities. First, Aaron is instructed to wear white linen clothing,
which is not the usual uniform of a high priest. The usual uniform is much more extravagant, but
because Aaron is entering on the Day of Atonement, he must wear simple clothes to symbolize his
lowly status in comparison to God. Next, Aaron is instructed to bathe. This ritual is intended to be
interpreted symbolically, as bathing is not for hygienic purposes in this instance but rather he is to
immerse himself in water to remove impurities. Water is necessary because after bathing in it, it
allows you to get into the Mishkan. Next it is important to note that Aaron is instructed to have a

Suburban Baths In Pompeii
The Suburban Baths, built around the end of the 1st century, is located in Pompeii north of the
Porta Marina and near the city walls. Though it was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius
on August 24, 79 AD, the volcanic ash from said eruption allowed it to be discovered and restored
by the later half of the 20th century. These baths are well known for their erotic frescoes displayed
within the apodyterium s (the changing room) walls, and presumably out of 16 of the wall
paintings, only 8 of them remain intact today. The remaining erotic frescoes display how images of
taboo sex acts in the Suburban Baths accentuate the normative expectation of dominating men by
mocking the depictions of the dominant women.
Although known for its practicality of bathing, the Suburban Baths was infamous for the sexual
activities that took place with it as well. Sex trade was spread in many venues in Pompeii where
prostitutes and their clients interacted in different locations, including bathhouses. It was believed
that the interactions, although based majorly upon exchange of sex for money, was significantly

What Is D-Day In Canada
Juno was the landing area for the 3rd Canadian Division. The division was to assault the coast
through a line of small resort towns from Graye Sur Mer to St Aubin (Neillands Norman, 232).
There were different names for different sectors of the invasion. There was Mike Red and Mike
Green to the west side, and Nan Red , Nan Green , and Nan White to the east (Neillands Norman,
233). Landing on the beach there was the Royal Winnipeg Rifles, the Regina Rifle Regiment, the
Canadian Scottish Regiment, the Queen s Own Rifles of Canada, the French Canadian Regiment
de la Chaudiere and the North Shore (Chartwell, 52). Now D Day, or some call it Juno Beach, is a
defining moment and played a big role for Canadians in the development of their future in military

Higher Education For International Students
Higher education in the UK has probably become one of the most popular choices for international
students. The study devoted into the experiences of the international students report that the
phenomenon of culture shock as a part of challenges could be troubling them (UKCISA, 2008).
Whereas, the students who come from developing countries responded that the higher education in
the UK would extend work field as well as the effect of social cognition (Mazzarol and Soutar,
2002).
Hence, it will be discussed in this essay whether opportunities outweigh the challenges by analyzing
the phenomenon, reasons and drawing the conclusion.
2.0The opportunities for international students
In the UK, a pluralistic country, there is diversified culture promoting to the cultural
communication. Over 60% of the survey respondents reported their agreement that the UK was a
tolerant society, with more than on in 10 (12%) indicating strong agreement. (Schweisfurth and Gu,
2009) Not only possibly could it broaden horizons of the international students, but also improve
their learning skills.
2.1Broaden horizons through multicultural society
Multicultural means including multiple people who have varying manners and faiths (Cambridge
dictionaries online). In 2004, UKCOSA did a survey was reported that over 50% of respondents
looked forward to getting more opportunities to experience the culture in UK (UKCOSA, 2004).

Persuasive Essay On Operations Production
Soon Robot workers could take control of the production side of a workplace. Today, I will be
talking to James Hackett, who is the CEO of Ford, as well as Brendan, a union representative
that will be arguing to keep the workers ford has now. We will discuss about the future of Ford s
production. I want to persuade him to move to a fully automated production process that will result
in many benefits for the company. Ford motors should move to fully automated manufacturing
plants, because it will save the company multitudes of money, the robots would be much more
efficient in production, and the cost of ford products would decrease. By moving to a fully
automated production method, ford will be able to save themselves a plethora of money. Ford will
no longer have to pay factoryworkers, saving the company endless amounts money. Ford has
multitudes of factories workers all making a certain salary or hourly wage, and every penny of this
expense will be eliminated. Although they will have to spend initial amounts of money on the
robots themselves, the money they will save in the long run will be well worth the initial
investment. The robot s production possibilities are exponentially better than a human worker.
These robots can work endless hours and produce things much faster than humans. According to
one website, They (robot workers) can produce a greater quantity in a short amount of time (Robot
Works). This fact proves the higher possibility of production and faster rate

Samuel Gompers Conversion To Socialism
In accordance with his hostility to socialism, Gompers was a staunch supporter of capitalism. He
believed that capitalism would improve the rights of union members, and also increase the
strength and power of the labor movement. However, in 1895 the Socialist Party within the AFL
took control, leading to the only year in which Samuel Gompers was not elected president.
Despite this, the next year Gompers was re elected President, and his aversion to socialism became
stronger than ever. Another defining characteristic of Samuel Gompers was that he was unafraid to
stand up for his cause. In 1906, after the courts issued an order not to boycott the Buck Stove and
Range Company, Gompers disobeyed this order and was consequently sentenced to a year... Show

Samuel Gompers choose not to focus on a reformation of America as a whole, but rather on
protecting the rights of everyday people. By focusing on simple, obtainable goals, Gompers
impacted the lives of millions of people. Gompers had to not only defend his position to those in
the government who did not support the labor movement, but also to his contemporaries who
thought him to be too conservative. He never backed down from his goal of protecting the rights
of the working class. Focusing on his objectives, Samuel Gompers took a firm stance on labor,
defending his position to anyone who disagreed with him. During a chaotic time in history where a
strong figure was desperately needed to change the status quo, Samuel Gompers emerged as a
leader at the forefront of the labor movement.

Pepsi in the Twenty First Century For over a century, Coca Cola and Pepsi Cola vied for throat
share of the world s beverage market. The most intense battles of the cola wars were fought over
the $60 billion industry in the United States, where the average American consumed 53 gallons
of carbonated soft drinks (CSD) per year. In a carefully waged competitive struggle, from 1975
to 1995 both Coke and Pepsi achieved average annual growth of around 10% as both U.S. and

tC CSD consisted of a flavor base, a sweetener, and carbonated water. Four major participants were
involved in the production and distribution of CSDs: 1) concentrate producers; 2) bottlers; 3) retail
channels; and 4) suppliers.3 Concentrate Producers The concentrate producer blended raw material
ingredients (excluding sugar or high fructose corn syrup), packaged it in plastic canisters, and
shipped the blended ingredients to the bottler. The concentrate producer added artificial sweetener
to make diet soda concentrate, while bottlers added sugar or high fructose corn syrup themselves.
The process involved little capital investment in machinery, overhead, or labor. A typical
concentrate manufacturing plant cost approximately $25 million to $50 million to build, and one
plant could serve the entire United States. No A concentrate producer s most significant costs were
for advertising, promotion, market research, and bottler relations. Marketing programs were jointly
implemented and financed by concentrate producers and bottlers. Concentrate producers usually
took the lead in developing the programs, particularly in product planning, market research, and
advertising. They invested heavily in their trademarks over time, with innovative and sophisticated
marketing campaigns (see Exhibit 2). Bottlers assumed a larger role in developing trade and

Marketing Plan For Whole Foods Essay
Thirty six years ago John Mackey started a grocery store based on his vision of a business that
provides customers only natural foods. Based on a simple but effective business model, Whole
Foods has grown to a position of market leadership that is now being challenged by low cost
organic sellers. According to Feldman (as cited in Giammona, 2015) Whole Foodscontinues to face
challenges from competitors going after organic and natural foods more aggressively (para. 4). The
company s differentiation edge against lower cost competitors is fading as competitors have been
successfully emulating the Whole Foods experience (Sharma,2015).Furthermore, Wahba (2016)
noted that the company s Whole Paycheck reputation is hurting sales and driving customers away
to other low priced organic foodcompetitors.
Whole Foods needs to reduce prices due to the new competitive landscape. Since the grocery
industry runs on very low profit margins, in order to reduce prices the company needs to reduce
costs. Whole Foods can leverage its size along with the company s value proposition of working
with local farmers to develop more efficient collaborative networks. The creation of partnerships in
integrated networks opens up opportunities to take advantage of complementary costs structures,
the respective partner s technical expertise, market knowledge and brand equity (reputation)

Intrinsic value refers to the value of a company, stock, currency or product determined through
fundamental analysis without reference to its market value. It is ordinarily calculated by
summing the discounted future income generated by the asset to obtain the present value. In
this case, Facebook s intrinsic value is its estimate value/share from Discounted Cash Flow
analysis. As it is showed in Exhibit 3, Facebook s estimated value/share is $32.44 using
Discounted Cash Flow analysis. The price from the price talk is $38, which was raised from
around $28 to $35 to $34 to $38 per share because of the overwhelming demand from investors.

by Annie E Coombes provide a critical analysis of how the contemporary scene is moving beyond
categories of post modern, and post race. Both are efforts to rescue contemporary artists who are
dealing with forms of oppression from being described as old fashion or out of date.
Carrie Mae Weems is an African Americanphotographer. She was born in 1953 in Portland,

draws on modernist critiques of commercialism and racism but combines them in striking ways
that make them more acute and totally in tune with today s realities. Blacks are not longer simply
victims or simple, that is, closer to nature, untouched by modernism. These are the agents and

First Language Acquisition And The Doubt Towards...
Due to the development in first language acquisition and the doubt towards contrastive analysis
which has deemed that all errors made by language learners are caused by the interference from the
mother tongue, error analysis, a response to and an alternative of contrastive analysis and an
approach influenced by behaviourism was given birth to and become increasingly popular among
researchers and teachers who began paying more attention on and shifting the interest in the errors
made by second languagelearners in the 1960s and 1970s (Mitchell, Myles and Marsden, 2013).
Central to the notion of erroranalysis is that it is a process where learners errors are collected and
analysed in order to get some implication from the results (Brown, 1987, p. 17; Corder, 1967;
Khansir, 2012) and the purpose of error analysis according to Corder (1974, p. 170) is to find what
the learner know and does not know and to ultimately enable the teacher to supply him not just with
the information that his hypothesis is wrong, importantly, with the right sort of information or data
for him to form a more adequate concept of rule in the target language . Moreover, Gass and
Selinker (2008) also agree that second language learners errors can provide information about their
knowledge of the system.
To know how error analysis works, firstly it should know what an error is and its possible sources.
When it comes to the definition of errors, many researchers have given their own ideas. Corder

Reducing Medication Errors In Nursing
Reducing Medication Errors In Hospitals
Patient centered care and patient safety are the most important roles in nursing. Serious medication
errors are common in hospitals and often occur during order transcription or administration of
medication (Poon et al., 2010. p. 1). One important aspect of nursing is drug administration. It is a
multidisciplinary task including doctors, pharmacist and nurses. This paper will show evidence that
using electronic medication systems instead of paper based systems to administer medication will
reduce medication errors.
Change Model Overview The John Hopkins Nursing Evidence Based Practice change model used
in this paper is, Practice, the basic component of all nursing activity, reflects the translation of what
nurses know into that they do (Dearholt, S. Dang, D., 2012. p. 34). This model has steps to
incorporate evidence base research into the practice of nursing combined with their education and
clinical skills.

The absorption of light by normal bilirubin (4Z,15Z bilirubin) results in the creation of 2 isomeric
forms of bilirubin: structural isomer (Z lumirubin) and configurational isomer (4Z,15 E bilirubin).
Both these structural and configurational isomers of bilirubin have substantially different chemical
and light absorption properties than bilirubin, are less lipophilic than normal bilirubin and can be
excreted into bile without undergoing glucuronidation in the liver. The absorption of light by
bilirubin also results in the generation of excited state bilirubin molecules that react with oxygen to
produce colorless oxidation, or photooxidation products. The rate of formation of bilirubin
photoproducts is highly dependent on the intensity and wavelengths of the light used (13). The
most efficient wavelength for the isomerization of bilirubin is approximately 450 nm, whether
applied to the fluid samples for testing or the treatment of jaundice. Wavelengths that fall within
the range of 400 nm 500 nm, and more specifically 445 nm 475 nm are known to effect
isomerization (14). The blue lights are chosen for light emission wavelengths of approximately 450
to 530 nm, which is the optimal range of light absorption for bilirubin. In contrast, the optimal range

Journey of a woman from All India Women s Conference to International Council of Women
The difference between a man and woman arises when they are socially labeled as male and
female ,thereby attaching characteristics of masculine and feminine to it.As Simone de Beauvoir
says, One is not born but rather becomes a woman. Women are always put at the lower level on
the table of social, political or economic hierarchy. So the fatherhood is a sociological fiction and
motherhood is just a biological fact. Some of the feminists have argued that the word woman itself
includes the word man which deprives the women to have their own identities exclusive of
men. Also Maya Angelou has quoted, How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our
heroes and she roes! Like all other social groups, women have also organized themselves within
groups equipped with their agenda and ideologies in order to upgrade their position in all aspects of
life.Though their have been many instances where individual groups could not bring about a
change and the strong structure of patriarchy crushed them in order to make it adjustable to the
prevalent arrangements. It is in the modern times that provided the space for fee play of women

into a fire when different groups of women from different parts of the world protest against it.When

The Influences and Strategies of Female Abolitionists
Slavery was a growing problem in America in the 19th century and anti slavery supporters as
well as pro slavery supporters were fighting to gain as much support as possible. There were
many strategies used, but one that was exceedingly effective was the involvement of women.
Female anti slavery abolitionist societies were created all over the North. Beginning in 1833
Philadelphia, Boston, and New York in 1836, spreading to other cities like Providence, Rhode
Island, Portland, Maine, and quickly spreading through the countryside. By the late 1830s there
were female societies in communities as small as Boylston, Massachusetts, with fewer than 1,000
inhabitants. These local societies were in most ways like the many thousands of other women s
voluntary organizations that were emerging in Northern communities in the early nineteenth
century. Female abolitionists were determined to have their opinions heard in a controversial
political society dominated by men. One strategy used by female abolitionists was the use
powerful oratory to spread the word of the abolition cause. Angelina Grimke was a female
abolitionist who toured the North speaking. She had a very large impact on society and shed
light on a perspective of slavery that had never been seen before. Grimke was a daughter of a
wealthy southern judge and was raised in a prominent family. She used her own experiences to
illustrate the evils of slavery. She spoke to crowds of sympathetic listeners, hostile pro slavery

Abstract Overconfident managers overestimate predict that overconfident managers will tend to
accelerate good news recognition, delay loss recognition, and generally use less conservative

Thus, our first set of hypotheses predict a negative relation between overconfidence and both
conditional and unconditional conservatism respectively.2 In addition, we examine whether these
effects vary with the strength of external monitoring based on the argument in Kahneman and
Lovallo [1993] that overconfidence or optimism is best alleviated by introducing an outside view.
Thus, external monitoring could mitigate the predicted negative relation between overconfidence
and conservatism. Our tests are based on a sample of 14,641 firm years over 1993 2009 from S P
1500 firms that have the available data needed to carry out our tests. Our primary measure of
overconfidence is based on the timing of CEO option exercise following Malmendier and Tate

1) I believe that, yes, text messages are a hindrance to formal writing and can make students less
likely to perform optimally in a formal writing assessment due to the amount of abbreviations

Montresor s Aristocracy
Aristocracy in the nineteenth century was widespread and revered in many nations in Europe. It
was the basis upon which many diplomatic and governing bodies ruled. Poe attempts to portray an
element of social class and order into The Cask of Amontillado, though it was cleverly modulated
almost to the point of barely existing as is reminiscent of his literary aesthetic. Baraban adopted this
principle as the principal argument to the events occurring in the text. She explains that unlike
many detective stories, the question asked is not who did it? But why do it? In her research, she
discovered that this single unattainable portion of the story led to many critics justifying the actions
of Montresor as a result of his insanity, which was not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first offence as portrayed in the text was when Fortunato took hold of Montresor s arm and
led them towards the latter s residence. According to Baraban, He suffered when his offender
virtually led him to his palazzo because etiquette does not allow minor aristocracy the liberty of
touching someone of more noble origin. This supports her previously stated notion concerning the
difference of class between the two characters. Montresor, having a higher aristocratic background,
feels unsettled with Fortunato s display of dominance over the situation and his effort to belittle
the esteem of his host. The second offence was Fortunato s statement concerning the Montresor
coat of arms, I forget your arms....And the motto? Overlooking the main identifier and
representative figure of a notable family is an insult on its own, relaying the demeaning notion
that one s family crest is not important enough to be remembered and revered. The final offence
committed by Fortunato was his implication that Montresor was not a part of the masons. Then
you are not of the brotherhood....You are not of the masons. The masons were a group of nobles
and social elites with high ranks in the society joined together by their common need to influence
decisions and policy making in the society, performing in a sort of oligarchy. Montresor could not
identify the gesture made by Fortunato because he was not as involved in the politics of his peers
as he ought to be in order to maintain his social standing in the society. This proves why Fortunato
was quick to assume that he was unaware of the inner workings of the masonry

problematic to all governments irrespective of political persuasions I will provide an overview of
the bill and investigate through critical analysis recommendations in the Bill for clinically led
commissioning. This will enable me to illustrate the problems in delivering a high quality care
service that is needed by the changing society and the challenges this causes policy makers who
uphold the ideology of the NHS.
The Bill states that To safeguard its future the NHS needs to change to meet the challenges it faces
only by modernising can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But Campbell (2012) argues that the modernisation of the NHS could have a diverse effect and
provide worse care especially for the more serious conditions such as cancer as inequalities will
be greater and poorer patients in lower socio economic areas will be overlooked. The state of the
public finances and tightening of budgets means that the past system was becoming increasingly
unaffordable the new system will be responsive to the needs of patients and remove the layers of
bureaucracy which consumed money that could be better spent on services. The British Medical
Association (2010) stresses that it is not just finance that drives medical decisions as consideration
must be given to the clinical need of the local heath community.
The key legislative changes in the bill are; clinically led commissioning, provider regulation to
support innovative services, a greater voice for patients, a new focus for public heath, greater
accountability locally and nationally and streamlining of arms lengths bodies.
Clinically lead commissioning puts GP s and health care professionals in the centre of decision
making and development of services so that they can provide care without the frustration caused by
involving primary care trusts. This will give the provider regulation to support innovative services

How Did The Industrial Revolution Affect The Spread Of...
In the time of the Industrial Revolution, Manchester was a developing country, becoming a leading
textile manufacturing center after the invention of the cotton mill was created in 1780. But for
every action, there is an opposite reaction. Whether it was a drastic growth in population and how
that affected Manchester, or the unsanitary conditions that workers went through every day, or how
the working class was affected with all the reforms going on, Manchester at the time went through
some dramatic issues. Population in Manchester overtime grew drastically. This was all due thanks
to the invention of the cotton mill. For example, in the image starred, it shows how population
grew over time. From 1750 to 1850, the city grew drastically.... Show more content on

More issues such as sickness, and death arose due to the overcrowding of people and the
unsanitary conditions they lived in. Thomas B. Macaulay, a social historian, states people live
longer because they are better fed, better lodged, better clothed, and better attended in sickness.
(Doc 3) This without a doubt means that if people had better conditions in living, and not as
much overcrowding, they would live longer. One big issue that was an ongoing problem during
this time was disease and infection. Disease would take a lot of lives, and people could not do
anything about it because, because they did not know how to fight it. Edwin Chadwick stated
that the annual loss of life from filth and bad ventilation is greater than the loss from death or
wounds in modern wars. (Doc 6) With foods being contaminated, it was obvious that people
would have died from infection and disease. In Manchester during this time, people were dying
rapidly due to many reasons. The Lancer, a British medical journal, published a work stating the
average death in certain places. More of the working class would be likely to die faster than a
regular artisan or trader. (Doc 8) The main reason this happened is obvious. It was because the
working class would live in poor conditions, and would be overcrowded. With this being said, the
workings class condition was not any better than how they

Happiness In Brave New World
The Brave New World depicts a society where happiness is completely necessary, and any other
feelings are against the social norms. People take a drug called soma to stabilize a constant mood
of happiness. Soma allows the people to feel nothing but the feeling of happiness at all times. In
this society, human beings are factory made and mass produced. The human beings are produced
just as society wants them to, to conform to the views of this utopia. Brave New Worldby Aldous
Huxleyis based in a perfect futuristic society and stems from a theme of technological happiness.
In today s society, people result to the consumption of drugs to cope with their realistic feelings.
They force themselves to cover up the pains they feel. In comparison,

Rhetorical Analysis Of President Ronald Reagan s Speech
On January 28, 1986, as millions of Americans watched on live television and in person, the
Challenger space shuttle exploded and broke up over the Atlantic Ocean just moments after its
launch. This space mission was significant for several reason, among them was that it would be the
first time where the space shuttlewould carry a civilian into outer space. Also, there was a frenzy
of interest for Americans as the U.S. and Russians were locked in a space race for space
exploration supremacy. Instead. President Ronald Reagan was left with the unenviable duty of
consoling a nation that had just witnessed the most significant disaster in American history. Hours
after the national disaster, President Reagan sat behind his desk, and steadfastly delivered a set
piece speech from the Oval office. He invited the American audience to listen with a formal, but
respectful introduction Ladies and Gentlemen . His tone was firm, and as he calmly addressed the
tragic events from earlier in the day. The opening lines set a somber tone for the rest of the speech
as he stated this day for mourning and remembering and declaring the tragedy a national loss , But
President Reagan did not want his fellow Americans to just dwell on this tragedy. He used it an
opportunity remind the next generation to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also launched a political innuendo at the Soviets, stating We don t hide our space program. We
don t keep secrets and cover things up. We do it all in the front and in public. He wanted to let the

counterparts. And, President Reagan wanted to prevent any false speculations about the cause of
the explosion or conspiracy theories about the demise of the NASA space

Civility Vs. Savagery In William Golding s Lord Of The Flies
In the novel Lord of the Flies written by William Golding the novels main theme was civility
versus savagery. The novel is about school boys who get stranded in an island because the
airplane the boys were in was shot down. The only adult who was the pilot died so the boys had
to learn how to survive without any adults. The schoolboys were aged ranged from 6 to 12 and
since there is no adult supervision the boys vote for a leader which causes conflict with two boys.
Things begin to get out of hand because they are free from any rules resulting in them acting like
savages and forgetting about civilization. The conflict between the two boys named Ralph and
Jack represents civility versus savagery because Ralph becomes leader and uses his... Show more

Jack is not the leader but still manages to break and change Ralph s rules. The conch shell was
supposed to represent power and order all over the island but Jack establishes that the conch
shell does not work in a specific place. The boys had no rules since there was not any adults in
the island. If the boys did not want to do something they would not do it. All the boys did not
care about their appearance they were not those civilized boys anymore. As the days passed and
the boys were still stranded in the island they would become less civilized. In chapter 7 all the
boy s appearance is not civilized they begin to look like animals: Not one of them was an
obvious subject for a shower, and yet hair, much too long, tangled here and there, knotted round a
dead leaf or a twig (Golding). What this means in terms of civilization is that the appearances the
boys present is symbolizing that they have no hope and that the boys do not care. They are hiding
their feelings inside but are showing them in the outside by acting like animals and dressing
uncivilized. Ralph and Jack disagree with hunting or being rescued being the main goal. Jack and
Ralph have different point of views on hunting but hunting for pigs becomes the main topic on the
island. Most of the boy s do not care of getting rescued all they care about is surviving and eating
meat. Jack and his hunters become obsessed with hunting that there is even a chant that is said

Organized Crime And Terrorism Similarities
They are two separate entities with similar characteristics. What are the differences? Although
organized criminals can engage in terrorism and terrorists can engage in criminal activity, their
objectives vary. Organized crime seeks opportunistic targets whereas, the operands modem of
terrorists is symbolic. Terrorismhas the main goal of political and/or gain through the destruction of
property and human life.
Organized crime groups are usually made up of members with similar ethnic backgrounds (e.g.,
Italian Mafia, Irish Mob) with the prime objective of seeking wealth and power. In the 1920 during
Prohibition, Organized Crime were instrumental in illegal alcohol sales. The success of Organized
depends on an extensive peripheral network. That peripheral network involves bankers, politicians
and law enforcement; ergo, these portals revolving around business activity protects the core of
organized crime (Stratfor, 2010).
Terrorist groups do not depend on an extensive peripheral network since they are driven by
political and/or social directives. Various Middle Eastern Groups (e.g., ISIL) involve the profitable
business of heroin and human trafficking to raise money for operations (e.g., weapons, training).
Finances are a means to an end; thus there are different constraints which allows them to engage in

Members of organized crime generally go into hiding, eluding law enforcement; whereas, terrorists
take credit for their attacks, while savoring the glory of the mainstream media s hype. A criminal
will run from the law; on the other hand, a terrorist will shout Allah Akbar before dying live (Jula,
2016). Organized crime works within the confines of its territory; whereas, terrorists are operating
globally, being shielded in safe houses within entire countries and internationally. (White,

Eliezer Wiesel s Relationships
Elie Wiesel was a young boy, when his life changed drastically. He was born in Sighet,
Transylvania, which is now Romania. He was born to Shlomo and Sarah, which they had four
children, Hilda, Bea, Tsiporah, and Eliezer. Wiesel and his family practiced the Jewish religion,
before he was forced into the concentration camps.
In the novel Night, Elie Wiesel had a strong belief in God. When Elie and his family were sent off
to the concentration camps, he tested his belief in God. In the novel Night, Wiesel s childhood
faith in the goodness and promise of God was forever shattered when as a young boy he was
deported along with his family from their native Transylvania to Auschwitz. Arriving at Auschwitz

He was taken away on a train and witness, children and adults being beaten and dehumanized.
Moche the Beatle told everyone in the ghetto his story but no one believed him. They all
questioned how he escaped and returned back to the ghetto. As time went on the SS officers came
and took over the ghettos, and everyone was speechless.
Elie had witnessed children his age and adults being tortured, beaten, and killed. In the novel,
Elie viewed, Not far from us, flames were leaping up from a ditch, gigantic flames. They were
burning something. A lorry drew up at the pit and delivered it load, little children. Babies! Yes, I
saw it, saw it with my own eyes. . . those children in the flames (Wiesel 41). During the novel,
Night, Elie tries to understand the meaning of why God would want humans to treat other
humans in this manner. For example, When the narrator, Eliezer, sees a lorry filled with
children who are dumped into a fiery ditch, he cannot believe what he has seen: I pinched my
face. Was I alive? Was I awake? I could not believe it. How could it be possible for them to burn
people, children, and for the world to keep silent? No, none of this could be true. It was a
nightmare (Hamaoui). Wiesel was living in a nightmare; he could not get out of. He is in a state
of shock that he cannot believe this is happening. In the novel, Eliezer cannot believe what is
before his eyes. His disbelief seems to numb

The Mexican And Chinese Cultures
1.Cultural diversity is defined as the different combinations of cultural and subcultural minorities
(e.g. ethnic, racial, national, religious, generational, marital status, socioeconomic, occupational,
health status and preference in life partner orientations) coexisting in a given location (Estes, 2014).
The Mexican and Chinese cultures are two cultures from separate geographic continents that I will
be analyzing in this paper. The Chinese culturehas numerous different cultures. Hans Chinese will
be the focus here. MГ©xico is where the Mexican culture is found. MГ©xico is a country located
in North America, south of the United States. MГ©xico has a coastline along the Pacific Ocean,

When Chinese and Mexican people come to America, they must be able to enculturate and
acculturate in order to function and survive in the American culture. This is a process that is
influenced strongly by home and family. Educating one s self and their children will be priority.
The Chinese and Mexican cultures both have strong ties to influencing or enculturating their
children whether they live in China, Mexico, or in the United States. Enculturation is The process
by which an individual learns the traditional content of a culture and assimilates its practices and
values. (Merriam Webster.com. Merriam Webster, n.d. Web. 2 Sept. 2014.) Enculturation teaches
moral values, behaviors, expectations, rituals and language. This helps unify people to functioning
in society, school in communities and throughout. Although America is made up of a vast number
of cultures. When people arrive here from other cultures that are not as prominent in America, they
must learn to acculturate into the American society. Acculturate is defined as Cultural modification
of an individual, group, or people by adapting to or borrowing traits from another culture; also a
merging of cultures. (Merriam Webster.com. Merriam Webster, n.d. Web. 2

Many people came to South Carolina from the Barbados and already had a well developed slave system in place, so they brought it with them. From Africa, they travelled to the New World via Middle Passage. The Middle Passage was part of the triangular trade that existed between America, Europe, and Africa. • 3. The Characters Of Genenys In A Separate Peace By John Knowles The word naive is an adjective used to describe someone deficient in worldly wisdom or informed judgment. The word daring is an adjective used to describe someone that is venturesomely bold in action or thought. What is the connection between these two characteristics? They both describe the character Phineas, the central character of A Separate Peace. In A Separate Peace, John Knowles employs dialogue and actions to characterize Phineas as a naive and daring static character. John Knowles implies Phineas is naive through the implementation of dialogue. Phineas confesses to Gene that [he] hope[s] [Gene is] having a pretty good time here... you can t come by yourself, and at this teenage period in life the proper person is your best pal. (48). The boys live in a masculine society where they are expected to be strong. To expose one s feelings to someone else is often considered social suicide. Gene takes advantage of Phineas naivetivГ© by not responding to his declaration of friendship. Phineas also asserted that when you really love something, then it loves you back, in whatever way it has to love (111). Phineas philosophy is centered around a world of youth of peace; he always tries to find the best in everyone. This naive attitude contrasts with the cruel nature of the world, where wars and competitions are common occurrences. At Gene s trial for Phineas fall, Phineas asks Gene if [he] was down at the bottom in a concerned, friendly tone. Phineas fear of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Another market which has slowly died is the demand for printing of photos, due to social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook people don t need to share their photos in a physical format and are capable of simply sending the picture via these social websites. In this case of selling products it was a massive drawback for Jessops but turned out to be an advantage for competitors such as Amazon. The increased number of internet users leads to benefits for Amazon who thrive off increased internet usage due to consumers finding it a cheaper alternative to Jessops. The internet can also be a good source of primary market research which enables firms such as Amazon to analyze prices of different websites. This would give the opportunity for Amazon to perhaps reduce prices or introduce offers which would help them sell more products. I believe it is entirely up to the company, this kind of competition would perhaps not effect Amazon due to their size in the market and their reliability where customers instantly visit Amazon knowing they will be given a fair price and receive their purchased item quickly. However, it did affect Jessops who failed to respond to demand and lower prices resulting in there imminent administration. These cells include the lining or tissue of an organ or in the skin (Australian Institute of Health Welfare Australasian Association of Cancer, 2012). There are two types of carcinoma cells, basal cells and squamous cells (American CancerSociety, 2012). Basal cell carcinomas are the cells that develop in the basal cell layer of the epidermis (American Cancer Society, 2012). Tumour markers are detectable cancer cells that are found in the spinal fluid, urine or blood (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). They also help by diagnosing different cancer types (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011).There are different markers that are able to identify different cancer types (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). For example, Prostrate specific antigen (PSA) identifies prostate cancer cells and a fetoprotein (AFP) identifies Hepatic cancer cells (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). There is a disadvantage of using tumour markers, and that is that some non cancerous tissues produce markers (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). Therefore, to determine whether a patient has cancer, additional tests are necessary (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). Sentinel nodes are lymph nodes that receive the bodies waste first (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). It is believed that the cancer cells are metastasised to these nodes before spreading to other nodes of the body (Craft, Gordon Tiziani, 2011). • 11. Heat Is The Transfer Of Thermal Energy Between... Heat is the transfer of thermal energy between substances. Thermal energy is the kinetic energy of moving particles of matter. If you go camping, you usually build a fire to sit around at night. Have you ever wondered why a marshmallow cooks without touching the flame, why the smoke rises, or why water in a pan boils? Heatcan move from one object to another in three different ways: conduction, convection and radiation. Some sources of heat may include the following: the sun, friction, and the earth. Life on earth depends on the sun. The sun provides heat/light for the entire solar system. A person could generate a fire by rubbing two sticks together. The Earth contains much heat seep inside. Some of the heat escapes to the surface ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thermal energy radiates through air from a fire causing the fire s energy to transfer to the marshmallow. As stated before, thermal conductor occurs when particles of warmer matter bump into particles of cooler matter and transfer some of their thermal energy to the cooler particles. Conduction is usually faster in certain solids and liquids than in gases. Returning to the example of a camp fire; what happens if you use an old metal hangar to roast hot dogs? As the hot dogs cooks, the fire heats the end of the hanger. If we leave the hanger in the fire long enough, eventually the end we are holding will become too hot for us to handle. The flames to the metal were transferred by the heat, and then from molecule to molecule in the hanger. Now, what would have happened if you had chosen a stick to roast your hot dog? Though the stick may have caught fire, it would not have conducted the heat to your hand. This is because wood is a very poor heat conductor. Heat insulators are materials that do not let heat move through them easily. They do not conduct heat well. Plastic, wood and some fabrics are good thermal insulators. Thermal insulators are good at keeping heat out and keeping heat in. A winter scarf is a good example of a thermal insulator. It stops the heat from your body escaping into the cold air. Temperature is defined as the average kinetic energy of the particles of matter. When ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. Atticus Day Of Atonement Leviticus 16 is read and interpreted as the Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur. The biblically stated purpose of Yom Kippur, which is significantly different to the Rabbinic purpose, is to purify the Mishkan (Tabernacle) and to purify the high priests, priests, and the people of Israel. The concepts of holy clean and unclean are intrinsic to understanding Leviticus. Since God is holy, then anything that comes in close contact of God must also be holy. The Mishkan, its contents, the High Priests, Priests and the sacrificial animals all must be holy. When Aaron enters the Mishkan on the first Day of Atonement, various rituals have to take place as he can only enter after following the prescribed set of ritual procedures. Everything that will be taken to the Mishkan that day, including himself, need to be holy and free from impurities. First, Aaron is instructed to wear white linen clothing, which is not the usual uniform of a high priest. The usual uniform is much more extravagant, but because Aaron is entering on the Day of Atonement, he must wear simple clothes to symbolize his lowly status in comparison to God. Next, Aaron is instructed to bathe. This ritual is intended to be interpreted symbolically, as bathing is not for hygienic purposes in this instance but rather he is to immerse himself in water to remove impurities. Though it was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius on August 24, 79 AD, the volcanic ash from said eruption allowed it to be discovered and restored by the later half of the 20th century. These baths are well known for their erotic frescoes displayed within the apodyterium s (the changing room) walls, and presumably out of 16 of the wall paintings, only 8 of them remain intact today. The remaining erotic frescoes display how images of taboo sex acts in the Suburban Baths accentuate the normative expectation of dominating men by mocking the depictions of the dominant women. Although known for its practicality of bathing, the Suburban Baths was infamous for the sexual activities that took place with it as well. Whereas, the students who come from developing countries responded that the higher education in the UK would extend work field as well as the effect of social cognition (Mazzarol and Soutar, 2002). Today, I will be talking to James Hackett, who is the CEO of Ford, as well as Brendan, a union representative that will be arguing to keep the workers ford has now. We will discuss about the future of Ford s production. I want to persuade him to move to a fully automated production process that will result in many benefits for the company. Ford motors should move to fully automated manufacturing plants, because it will save the company multitudes of money, the robots would be much more efficient in production, and the cost of ford products would decrease. By moving to a fully automated production method, ford will be able to save themselves a plethora of money. Ford will no longer have to pay factoryworkers, saving the company endless amounts money. Ford has multitudes of factories workers all making a certain salary or hourly wage, and every penny of this expense will be eliminated. Although they will have to spend initial amounts of money on the robots themselves, the money they will save in the long run will be well worth the initial investment. The robot s production possibilities are exponentially better than a human worker. These robots can work endless hours and produce things much faster than humans. • 26. Marketing Plan For Whole Foods Essay Thirty six years ago John Mackey started a grocery store based on his vision of a business that provides customers only natural foods. Based on a simple but effective business model, Whole Foods has grown to a position of market leadership that is now being challenged by low cost organic sellers. According to Feldman (as cited in Giammona, 2015) Whole Foodscontinues to face challenges from competitors going after organic and natural foods more aggressively (para. 4). The company s differentiation edge against lower cost competitors is fading as competitors have been successfully emulating the Whole Foods experience (Sharma,2015).Furthermore, Wahba (2016) noted that the company s Whole Paycheck reputation is hurting sales and driving customers away to other low priced organic foodcompetitors. Whole Foods needs to reduce prices due to the new competitive landscape. Since the grocery industry runs on very low profit margins, in order to reduce prices the company needs to reduce costs. Whole Foods can leverage its size along with the company s value proposition of working with local farmers to develop more efficient collaborative networks. The creation of partnerships in integrated networks opens up opportunities to take advantage of complementary costs structures, the respective partner s technical expertise, market knowledge and brand equity (reputation) (Swink, Melnyk, Cooper, Hartley,2014, p.11). Due to the development in first language acquisition and the doubt towards contrastive analysis which has deemed that all errors made by language learners are caused by the interference from the mother tongue, error analysis, a response to and an alternative of contrastive analysis and an approach influenced by behaviourism was given birth to and become increasingly popular among researchers and teachers who began paying more attention on and shifting the interest in the errors made by second languagelearners in the 1960s and 1970s (Mitchell, Myles and Marsden, 2013). Central to the notion of erroranalysis is that it is a process where learners errors are collected and analysed in order to get some implication from the results (Brown, 1987, p. 17; Corder, 1967; Khansir, 2012) and the purpose of error analysis according to Corder (1974, p. 170) is to find what the learner know and does not know and to ultimately enable the teacher to supply him not just with the information that his hypothesis is wrong, importantly, with the right sort of information or data for him to form a more adequate concept of rule in the target language . Moreover, Gass and Selinker (2008) also agree that second language learners errors can provide information about their knowledge of the system. Both these structural and configurational isomers of bilirubin have substantially different chemical and light absorption properties than bilirubin, are less lipophilic than normal bilirubin and can be excreted into bile without undergoing glucuronidation in the liver. The absorption of light by bilirubin also results in the generation of excited state bilirubin molecules that react with oxygen to produce colorless oxidation, or photooxidation products. The Influences and Strategies of Female Abolitionists Slavery was a growing problem in America in the 19th century and anti slavery supporters as well as pro slavery supporters were fighting to gain as much support as possible. There were many strategies used, but one that was exceedingly effective was the involvement of women. Female anti slavery abolitionist societies were created all over the North. Beginning in 1833 Philadelphia, Boston, and New York in 1836, spreading to other cities like Providence, Rhode Island, Portland, Maine, and quickly spreading through the countryside. By the late 1830s there were female societies in communities as small as Boylston, Massachusetts, with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants. These local societies were in most ways like the many thousands of other women s voluntary organizations that were emerging in Northern communities in the early nineteenth century. Female abolitionists were determined to have their opinions heard in a controversial political society dominated by men. One strategy used by female abolitionists was the use powerful oratory to spread the word of the abolition cause. Angelina Grimke was a female abolitionist who toured the North speaking. This supports her previously stated notion concerning the difference of class between the two characters. This will enable me to illustrate the problems in delivering a high quality care service that is needed by the changing society and the challenges this causes policy makers who uphold the ideology of the NHS. The Bill states that To safeguard its future the NHS needs to change to meet the challenges it faces only by modernising can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But Campbell (2012) argues that the modernisation of the NHS could have a diverse effect and provide worse care especially for the more serious conditions such as cancer as inequalities will be greater and poorer patients in lower socio economic areas will be overlooked. The state of the public finances and tightening of budgets means that the past system was becoming increasingly unaffordable the new system will be responsive to the needs of patients and remove the layers of bureaucracy which consumed money that could be better spent on services. The British Medical Association (2010) stresses that it is not just finance that drives medical decisions as consideration must be given to the clinical need of the local heath community. The key legislative changes in the bill are; clinically led commissioning, provider regulation to support innovative services, a greater voice for patients, a new focus for public heath, greater accountability locally and nationally and streamlining of arms lengths bodies. Clinically lead commissioning puts GP s and health care professionals in the centre of decision making and development of services so that they can provide care without the frustration caused by involving primary care trusts. This will give the provider regulation to support innovative services ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whether it was a drastic growth in population and how that affected Manchester, or the unsanitary conditions that workers went through every day, or how the working class was affected with all the reforms going on, Manchester at the time went through some dramatic issues. More issues such as sickness, and death arose due to the overcrowding of people and the unsanitary conditions they lived in. Thomas B. Macaulay, a social historian, states people live longer because they are better fed, better lodged, better clothed, and better attended in sickness. (Doc 3) This without a doubt means that if people had better conditions in living, and not as much overcrowding, they would live longer. One big issue that was an ongoing problem during this time was disease and infection. Disease would take a lot of lives, and people could not do anything about it because, because they did not know how to fight it. Edwin Chadwick stated that the annual loss of life from filth and bad ventilation is greater than the loss from death or wounds in modern wars. (Doc 6) With foods being contaminated, it was obvious that people would have died from infection and disease. In Manchester during this time, people were dying rapidly due to many reasons. The Lancer, a British medical journal, published a work stating the average death in certain places. More of the working class would be likely to die faster than a regular artisan or trader. (Doc 8) The main reason this happened is obvious. It was because the working class would live in poor conditions, and would be overcrowded. With this being said, the workings class condition was not any better than how they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

President Ronald Reagan was left with the unenviable duty of consoling a nation that had just witnessed the most significant disaster in American history. Hours after the national disaster, President Reagan sat behind his desk, and steadfastly delivered a set piece speech from the Oval office. He invited the American audience to listen with a formal, but respectful introduction Ladies and Gentlemen . His tone was firm, and as he calmly addressed the tragic events from earlier in the day.
