Money has a huge impact on us as individuals, changing our behaviour and the way we view
others. In order to see how great of an effect money has a study was conducted involving
participants recruited from Psyc106 classes. Participants partook in an experiment requiring them
to complete a task which involved money priming. Half the students were exposed to words
associated with money while the other group were used as a control group, being exposed to
neutral words only. Following this task, participants were asked to complete a survey which would
help determine whether or not money priming had any effect on their way of thinking or behaviour.
The results found that money priming in fact had no effect on the person s behaviour, and any
variances were mainly due to the difference in opinions of males and females.

Effect of Sound on a Film Scene Sound and music in the cinematic context is an effective means of
means of communication. Motion picture soundtrack, sound effects, background music, diegetic
and non diegetic sound can supplement, enhance and expand upon the meaning of the film s
narrative. The overlap and interaction of dialogue, sound effects, atmospheric sound, score music
and silence create a harmonious and synchronized counterpoint to the image of the scene. Music
in a film creates a point of experience for the spectator. Patterns of tension and release
exemplified by the sound of the scene provide a sense of organization, connection and meaning to
the audience. In my short clip from 12 years a Slave I have used music as a part of cinematic

The Standards Unit (SU) within FLO is responsible for developing and revising fair trade
standards. Fair trade standards refer to: (a) generic standards, (b) product standards, (c) fair trade
minimum prices (FTMP) and fair trade premiums (FTP). Producers and traders must meet
applicable standards for their products to be certified as fair trade.
Fair trade prices
According to fair trade standards, most products have a fair trade price, which is the minimum
that should be paid to the producers for their goods. This fair trade minimum price (FTMP) is
intended to cover the average producers costs of sustainable production (COSP) per product. If
global or regional minimum prices are determined, otherwise national prices are set. Producers or
workers (in the case of hired labour situations) of fair trade products also receive a fair trade
premiums(FTP) in addition to the minimum price. The determination of a minimum price may
involve the determination of the related premium (Andreas Kratz, 2010).

Ruth J. Abram, who wanted to create a museum centered upon an experience common to the
majority of Americans, founded the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. Abram believed that the
immigrant experience was something that diverse groups of people could relate to and unite
together on, moving Americans to participate in a national conversation with similarly situated,
contemporary immigrants and other outsiders (Abram 2005:21). As we can see, Abram has been
dedicated from the start to civic engagement through community collaboration.
Abram continually ensures that the museum has the resources and insight needed for community
engagement. This is done in several ways. For instance, Abram and the Board of Trustees are
committed to ensuring that there is funding for not only the various programs the museum engage
in, but also for the staff s needs. They are committed to having a diverse and inclusive team,
comprised of individuals from multiple backgrounds. Furthermore, they have 32 full time staff
positions and 30 part time docents (Abram 2005). It is this kind of commitment that has contributed
to successful and sustainable community collaboration. Staff members often speak more than one
language and have experienced many of the same issues that past and present immigrants have
faced such as welfare (Abram 2005). This brings in diverse experiences and stories into the
museum space.

Analysis Of Ben Jonson s Ode To Shakespeare
This week s lecture is focused on Ben Jonson, his love hate relationship with Shakespeare, his
lyric poetry, Jonson s purpose, Jonson s life, and Volpone . Jonson was constantly compared to
Shakespeare which is often deemed as unfair. Sadly. Jonson was always second best even though
they were two different people with different writing styles, temperament, artistic interests, etc..
However, this could be due to working around each other and always being in the same
surroundings. There were times when Jonson would hint at Shakespeare in his work but would
often try to make Shakespeare look bad in order to boost his ego. In my opinion, I do not blame
Jonson for doing this because he was tired of being compared to someone who was around... Show
In my opinion, I think it was wonderful that Jonson was able to achieve this because I am sure after
being compared to Shakespeare constantly that he needed something that he could call his own
achievement.
Next, Jonson s purpose was didactic. Didactic is defined the intent to teach or lecture others
while having a moral instruction as one s ulterior motive. Jonson was seen as a public poet. I
believe his used his poetry to teach others his neo classical virtues. He believed his poems could
be used as examples to introduce people to wisdom, honesty, and his version of a good life. In
my opinion, I think that Jonson s poems could be used as a template to show people how to live
a better life or to show the moral of the story. I think he was trying to teach others to embrace a
good moral standing. One could say that his ulterior motive was to teach people ethical principles
and artistic standards because he believed that someone of his standing should feel responsible to
show others that they should follow these rules. However, Jonson believed that his purpose was to
defined the good life but according to the lecture this would mean that Jonson would have to
discover his self knowledge and that it would have to be constant.
Next, Ben Jonson was born in London around June of 1572. Although, his father died two months
before his birth, Jonson was able to attend Westminster School but only for a short time. Afterwards,
he decided to follow in his stepfather s footprints
