Essay on Zoroastrianism s Role in Christianity s Development
Zoroastrianism s Role in Christianity s Development
Christianity is one of the most popular religions of the early 21st century. Through the course of
Christianity s first millennia it was able to rise from its original twelve followers to become the
state religion of Rome and the mighty empire which it held. However, unbeknownst to many, the
concepts that exist in Christianity and Judaism (the religion from which Christianity spawned) were
initially conceived by the nearly dead religion of Zoroaster. Christianity is closely modeled after the
Zoroastrain s beliefs in the afterlife, redemption, judgment, duality of deities, apocalypse and
messiahs. Whether Christianity adopted or coincidentally shared the beliefs of the ... Show more

When Zoroaster died they waited patiently for the apocalypse to come. After a few years had
passed they decided it would occur at the end of a millennia.1 Although Christians will argue that
their religion is monotheistic, virtually all other religions argue to the contrary. Muslims and Jews
both consider the Christian Holy Trinity to be clear evidence of tri theism. This is a view which
has great weight to it. If God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all gods, then it seems logical to say
that indeed the Christians are tri theists. This is belief in three gods is shared by the
Zoroastrians, who believe that Ahura Mazda, Spenta Mainyu and Anghra Mainyu are all gods.
Christians and Zoroastrians both believe in a cosmic dualism. This dualism manifests itself in
the struggle between two non empirical beings which represent good and evil. This is a corner
stone of both religions. The follower becomes a soldier in the struggle for good, whereas non
believers are told they are working for the evil deity. It is also promised that good will eventually
triumph over evil at the onset of the apocalypse. All though the two religions both possess this
dualism, there is one subtle difference between the two. In the Zoroastrian faith the two forces are
represented entirely by gods. The evil Anghra Mainyu against the good Spenta Mainyu and Ahura
Mazda. However, in Christianity the force of good is a god, whereas the evil force is a mere spirit

Neuman Systems Model
Neuman systems model. The NSM identifies that any system has boundaries meant to protect a
single client, family, or social issue within the system (Neuman Fawcett, 2011). The model is
dynamic with a continuum of variables that influence the stability of the system. The influence,
such as stressors, can alter the system or restore the system. A principle of the NSM is optimal
wellness represented as the greatest degree of system stability (Neuman Fawcett, 2011). The NSM
theory asserts nursing to care for a complex systsem, requiring an approach to assimilate and adapt
into the system. The NSM utilizes the internal and external cues of the environment to influence the
system. The nature of the system determines the complexity of the system.... Show more content on

NSM depicts stress and reaction to the stability of stress on the system. A patient and/or family
reaction to the transition from oncology care to hypervigilance in primary care can experience
stress, most often as psychological distress. The repeated cyclical nature of the response to the
stresses of changed home life, family functioning, body image, handling daily activities, or
connecting with a support group changes the client. The ideal of NSM is to attain optimal stability
and reach a new developmental level (Neuman Fawcett, 2011). NSM fits the need of the PICO
project through the interpretation of concepts and the dynamic nature of stressors and reactions to
the basic structure (patient and/or family). A key component in utilization of the NSM for
screening psychological distress after oncology care, is self report of the instability of transition to
a new lifestyle. Cancer related psychological distress is widespread (Hoffman, 2012). The distress
can remain hidden as priorities in cancer rehabilitation and family adjustment take place. The initial
stressor of the cancer diagnosis creates a change in the patient and/or family (basic structure
functioning and energy resources), however after cancer treatment (variables), the client system
(patient and/or family) still is adjusting to change (lines of resistance). Patients and families may
not go back to their prior life (environment) but transition into a new

Level of Performance of Fourth Year Public Highschool...
INTRODUCTION
The Philippine educational setting is bilingual in nature, thus the level of performance of public
high school students towards English proficiency in learning creates its possibility to be
monolingual by using the considered foreign language as the standard language in teaching is
impossible yet can be proven by theoretical studies to be conducted. Many accounts of
constitutional laws, studies and facts regarding this issue of using the English language in teaching
academic subjects such as science and technology can well explain its effective usage in the world
of language education namely: the English language proficiency public students show, the legal
basis it holds, the level of performance the public high school ... Show more content on

Using the level of performance shown by public high school students is a logical proof to be
sustained in this field of analysis. Furthermore, to justify this study, another arising credential is the
determined number of students passing the examinations. The fourth year public high school
students passing the institute of higher learning gives a significant resolution to the argument rose
upon by using English language in the field of teaching. The passing percentage of students coming
from public schools provides us with enough basis. College entrance exams in prominent
universities here in the Philippines are mostly presented in full English text, except for the UPCAT
exam. The number of students passing entrance examinations as presented facts is further
established through accumulating data, which serves as its foundation.
Finally, the process of publishing books can concretize these justifications. The revision of
textbooks and workbooks being used in teaching science and math is done due to the fast
proliferation of concepts used, which are usually in the English language. The standard language
used in any publication of science and mathematics textbooks and workbooks are English. This
does make it possible of stating English as the standard language of education (Otanes, 1988, pp.84
85). In publishing books, the process of using English is but a firm stand, giving merit to English

Royal Ontario Museum Research Paper
Museums are institutions of cultural, artistic, and scientific knowledge. They have taken many
forms over the centuries, Older museums subscribed to elitist ideologies. The architecture and
interior design of these highbrow establishments reflected this with either over the top grandeur or
stark, blinding white galleries. However, has museumvalues became rooted in the community and
public education, the architecture changed as well. The Royal Ontario Museum consists of two
interconnected main buildings. The original build and its early 1933 renovation are an exemplar
of traditional sensibilities. In stark contrast to them, however, is the Michael Lee Chin Crystal
which embodies the essence of new museum aesthetics. The design of the Royal Ontario Museum
is a perfect blend of traditional and new museum values as is evident in its innovative design.
Early 18th and 19th century museums and many other buildings were built in the neoclassical
style. Inspiration was taken directly from recently excavated Roman ruins. Early museums acted
more like over the top cabinets of wonder, catering only to academics and elite individuals.
However as so too did museum designs. Of course, museums exist in a multitude of architectural
styles. The list of historical buildings that act as museums is endless. International style arose to
reflect the modernist art style and the social sensibilities of the 20th century. This design was often
composed of simple material and straight lines. The goal of international style was to act as a blank
canvas on which to display artworks. It wasn t until later in the 20th century that... Show more

Ishmael Beah Quotes
Character Essay Fighting. Death. Rebels. Children. Wars aren t fought how they used to. They are
now fought by 13 year olds wielding AK 47s and G3s. Ishmael Beah was one of them. Ishmael is a
kind looking Sierra Leonean man. If eyes are truly windows to the soul then his dark eyes reveal
pacifism and kindness. He tends to wear collared shirts and jackets, giving off an air of
sophistication. He is a good man and his looks show it. Ishmael is a kind man, working for his
fellow child soldiers. He is someone I look up to. He is a former child soldier who was forced to do
unspeakable acts even though at heart he is a fairly gentle person. He is a lover of music and
often memorized songs and used to sing and rap them with his friends. He is a strong person who
has gone through hell and back, and yet he is still able to smile and forgive himself for what he s
done.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of these experiences is when he was about to see his family, then the village they were
staying in was attacked by rebels. His mother, father and two brothers were trapped in their
house and slowly burned to death. This happened only a few weeks after their former home was
attacked and raided by rebels. But it is a better fate then some because one of his now deceased,
friend s 3 sisters were raped over and over again. while their father was knocked out for trying to
defend them and their mother being forced to watch. The rebels took the girls with them. Ishmael
s fate was not much better than the 3 girls for he became a child soldier: traumatized and hopped
up on drugs and told to avenge his family by killing every rebel and snorting cocaine until he no
longer felt anything. Remember war is not all honor and glory, it is suffering, death and pain. In

Essay Comparing Frankenstein And The Rime Of The Ancient...
The Romantic Era was a literary movement that swept through virtually every country in the 18th
century that encompassed placing importance on the beauty of nature, passion of the imagination
and human emotions. The emphasis was on self expression and individual uniqueness whereas,
society should be driven by passionate emotions rather than strict confining rules and rituals. There
was a great interest in the mysteries of life, intuition and the pursuit of divine revelation whereas,
the spirit of God is present in all humans and animals. God made and loves all creatures great and
small equally, therefore, there is not a single creature better or more important than another. Playing

Victor assumes the divine right of creation, whereas, the old sailor assumes the divine right of
taking a life (the albatross) for no apparent reason other than a lack of wind. Victor exclaims, It
was a strong effort of the spirit of good; but it was ineffectual. Destiny was too potent, and her
immutable laws had decreed my utter and terrible destruction (23). Victor s consequences or
punishment for defying the laws of nature and creating a monster was to become enslaved by the
unnatural man and is forced to watch his loved ones be murdered one by one, while he remains
powerless to stop the horrible events. The monster passionately seeks revenge against Victor for
abandoning him when the world completely rejects him. The monster exclaims, I am alone, and
miserable; man will not associate with me, but one as deformed and horrible as myself would not
deny herself to me. (171), furthermore the monster explains his intentions, The human senses are
insurmountable barriers to our union. If I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear.

Essay On Children During The Industrial Revolution
Experiences of children in the Industrial Revolution Before the Industrial Revolution, people had
to do work by themselves or only with the help of animals. This all changed when the Industrial
Revolution began and machines were introduced. Machines made improved the efficiency and
quality of products and also reduced the effort and manpower needed to complete tasks. Men
generally provided much of the labour however, children and women were commonly seen in
workplaces such as mines and textile factories. Children were unfortunately the victims not
beneficiaries of the Industrial Revolution. Children had to work long hours every day and after
work they would have to go home to a very unhygienic homes in the towns and cities in which they

They worked in many industries such as textile and mining and there was no restriction of how
young they were or for how long they worked for. Due to this lack of regulation, children worked
for many hours from early in the morning to late at night. If the children did not please their
overseers, they would receive cruel punishments such as being hit with a strap to make them
work faster or being dipped head first into a pot full of water to wake them up. Some
punishments were even crueller, as John Brown wrote in the Lion newspaper in 1828, Woodward
and other overlookers used to beat me with pieces of thick leather straps made supple by oil, and
having an iron buckle at the end, drew blood almost every time it was applied (History Learning
Site, 2014). A number of children had to face inhumane punishments such as the ones that John
Brown faced. Children were forced to work for long hours and as hard as they could and they were
treated with little, if any, respect. The working lives of children were very inhumane which
emphasises that they did not benefit from the Industrial Revolution. Furthermore, after exhausting
hours of work, children had to face even more unpleasant circumstances in the homes in which they

How To Illustrate The Two Ways Of International Expansion...
Companies have an amazing ability to grow and develop on the market. Companies are able to
expand on several different platforms including nationally, internationally, online and many other
ways. How companies are able to develop gives a good idea to how successful they will be in the
long run. By developing different strategies companies are able to develop nationally as well of
internationally. By reaching out into new markets, companies are able to expand even beyond
borders.
Describe two major ways in which a company can grow. Give examples to illustrate the two ways
of growing.
Companies are able to grow in many different ways. Two of those ways are international expansion
and inorganic growth. With international expansion companies decide to move their companies to
another country in hopes of breaking into the market in the host countries. Trading in the European
union has risen by 30% in the last 30 years(Davis, p2). Companies want to expand internationally
because they are able to hire for cheaper and establish a competitive advantage over their
competition.Growing internationally can be very difficult. Differences in language, culture, laws,
production cost and other situations that can cause conflict. Inorganic growth is when a company s
joins other already established companies. When joining another company, they could either be
merging or taken over. In horizontal integration is when two companies at the same stage in
production merge whereas in vertical

Mass Media And Its Effect On The Air Waves
Mass media distribution has been around since the invention of the printing press. (Gerbner, 1999)
However, broadcast radio presented a higher level of distribution speed to this process and allowed
for an extended reach to consumers. Since its creation, this technology has been controlled by FCC
regulations and advertising support, limiting the freedom of the broadcasters so all of the possible
listeners are happy. Between the government maintenance and listening trends, the range of music
and content on the air waves has been reduced to 5 basic genres. The introduction of the internet
has allowed this medium to once again evolve. The reach has been greatly extended, advertising
made optional and freedom of use increased. This being said, the largest attraction to internet radio
is its ability to be customized by the listener. Historically, the concept of internet radio has been
around since the early 1990s. These broadcasts were still very limited because most of them
were streams from terrestrial radio stations or niche talk shows. Carl Malamud began this
phenomena with a weekly computer talk show, interviewing experts and streaming it openly
online. These types of broadcasts became so popular that The Rolling Stone began playing a
concert over the web as well. This idea would be copied over and over again by every musician and
music producer. As file sharing spread and download speeds increased, issues began to rise between
music streamers and the

An Investigation Of The Capacity And Lateral Torsional...
Abstract The study includes an investigation of the stresses, deflections capacity and lateral
torsional buckling behavior of regular I section steel column of jib crane subjected to a axial
compressive eccentric loading. The lateral torsional buckling is the main failure mode that controls
the design of slender column. Different shapes of columns are proposed in this study with
different cross section, web shapes and materials. Finite element analysis and experimental study
are carried out on both types (i.e. Regular and proposed column) to calculate and validate results.
An optimization technique is used to optimize the solution from proposed different designs. The
thickness of the web and thickness of column is constant for all specimens with length 2 to 3 m
and tested for 500, 750 and 1000 Kg load lifting capacity. Structural analysis is done to examine the
influence of the section dimension due to axial compressive eccentric loading on column. Using
the study it is observed that not only the web thickness, but also the shape of web, angle of web and
sectional cross section of steel column influences the resistance to lateral torsional bucklingand
bending.
Keywords Slender, bending, lateral torsional buckling, sectional cross section, web shape.

Hamlet Soliloquies Analysis
All seven soliloquies in the play are based on several common themes such as death, incest, pain,
fear, emptiness of existence, and pride and hypocrisy that make us human. To create these themes
and further develop character, Shakespeare uses certain techniques. First of all, Shakespeare
employs blank verse to create a smooth flowing rhythm and cadence. He masterfully switches back
and forth between fast and slow pace by utilizing both short choppy sentences and fluent long ones.
Secondly, it is clear that the soliloquies do not waste any word. Each syllable and sound adds depth
to the development of Hamlet. Each soliloquy successfully conveys to the reader Hamlet s state of
mind and intensity of his emotion. Most importantly, the soliloquies reveal something special that
the play itself does no t. Just by looking at the play separately, it i s very hard for readers to notice
the character development that Hamlet goes through. For instance, the beginning soliloquies prove
that Hamlet is indecisive and irresolute. Thus, it i s the soliloquy found in each aAct of the play
that readers can watch Hamlet grow internally.
As an uptight and hypersensitive individual, Hamlet never seems to reveal much about his thoughts
throughout the whole play. In fact, since Hamlet is inclined to express his emotions in a physically
interactive way, including his abusive interaction with his mother and aggressive physical contact
with Laertes and Claudius, it is rather difficult for the audience to interpret his intentions and his
thoughts. His soliloquies, however, are the only ways in which the audience can finally gain an
understanding of his thoughts. This soliloquy, also being the first, reveals him to be thoroughly
disgusted with Gertrude, Claudius, and the world in general. This is when the King Claudius and
Queen Gertrude urges Hamlet in the open court to cast off the deep melancholy which, as they
think, has taken possession of his mind as a consequence of his father s death. In their opinion,
Hamlet has sufficiently grieved for his father s death already. Prior to the soliloquy, King Claudius
and Queen Gertrude announce their marriage, as according to them, the court cannot afford
excessive grief, which further saddens

Inductive Vs. Inductive Reasoning
Although inductive reasoning is as we shall see not logically continuous, it is nevertheless a
seemingly parsimonious avenue for the formation of theories and conceptions about the world
around us. The sun has risen and fallen every day up until this point in time and while this may
not logically prove that it will do the same tomorrow, the popular belief is that this repetition
gives us a firm ontological grounding for expecting it to do so. This does not seem
unreasonable, at least in one sense of the word; indeed, if you happened to meet an individual
who claimed to possess an agnostic belief about whether or not the sun is likely to reappear
tomorrow, then you would most likely consider them to be a very odd person. So inductive
inferences are all around us, they are the functional basis of our understanding of the world. For
the sake of this paper, then, it is important to understand what we mean when we talk about an
inductive inference. Presented in its most rudimentary construct, the inductive inference appears
in the logical form: (I)Pa1,..., Pan Pan+1, or (II)Pa1,..., Pan AxPx. Let us briefly explore these
two statements. In statement (I), an+1 denotes a different object or form from those denoted by
a1 ,...., an. During the application of these principles (I) and (II), we are to assume that we do not
know any non P s, and furthermore that the class of a1 ,..., an are the sole objects for which we
know that they are P s. Now,

Nicotine has a powerful addicting effect because it is absorbed rapidly into the pulmonary
circulation following inhalation from which it passes through the left side of the heart and into the
cerebral circulation. It rapidly crosses the blood brain barrier and binds to specific receptors in
various parts of the brain. Stimulation of receptors by nicotine results in the activation of a number
of neurohumoral pathways leading to release of acetylcholine, norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin,
vasopressin and various hormones. Nicotine causes the release of the substance b endorphin, an
endogenous peptide that also binds to opiate receptors. This indicates a link between addiction to
opiates, such as morphine and heroin, and addiction to nicotine.
Nicotine affects nearly all components of the endocrine and neuroendocrine systems, including
catecholamines, serotonin, corticosteroids and pituitary hormones.
Some of these endocrine effects are mediated by actions of nicotine on brain neurotransmitter
systems. In addition, nicotine causes skeletal muscle relaxation and has cardiovascular effects.
Nicotine is a powerful substance in controlling brain function. It interacts with specific receptors in
brain tissue, and initiates metabolic and electrical activity in the brain.

Spanish American War, And The Causes Of The Spanish...
One of the causes for the Spanish American War was that Spanish General Valeriano Weyler y
Nicolau, nicknamed the Butcher was torturing the Cubans. The Cubans were dying of starvation,
disease and poor sanitation and then putting Cubans in concentration camps. President McKinley
had sent previous warnings to Spain to stop the economic suffering. Later the USS Maine was in
Cuba to protect American interest. The Library of Congress stated that Americans were shocked
when the ship exploded and sank and 266 of the 354 crew members were killed (p 2). American
received the territories of Cuba, Guam and the Philippines from Spain. Cuba was greatly impacted
because with only being a US Territory they could still be an independent unit but have an American
Naval base for protection. The Philippines were also impacted because they had been fighting for
independence from Spain, but soon starting resenting the United Statesbecause they were still not
totally independent. China was also impacted by the Spanish American war because with the
United States acquiring Hawaii, Guam, Cuba and the Philippines it was easier to trade with
because shipments didn t have to go as far without refueling or supplies.

The Pearl And Cannery Row Analysis
Destiny; that is where our story begins. In the novels, Of Mice and Men, The Pearl, and
Cannery Row we see different destinies and dreams, but they all have the same goal, to reach
them. It is the duty of every man, as far as his ability extends, to detect and expose delusion and
error. Nature has not given to everyone a talent for the purpose; among those to whom such a
talent is given, there is often a want of disposition or of courage to do it. The saying you control
your own destiny applies to the everyday life of us all. The way you act will determine who you
are as a person and what you chose to bring out of life. How you handle the lessons that life thrusts
upon you will be completely up to you to decide. Equally important, the decisions... Show more

These three books all have one concept in common with each other destiny. The destinies of the
characters of all these books begin with a journey, a journey that begins with a dream, a dream
that begins with a thought. A question is always asked though: is our destiny already
determined for us? If so, can we change it? Can our destiny be in point of fact already laid out
for us? For instance, can a murderer in point of fact be charged for what he/she has done if they
were destined to do it? Is one responsible for one s actions or not, is a very important question.
Say the murderer gets off free of any charges for the reason that the judge believes that destiny
cannot be changed, is that indubitably fair? Should a murderer get off free from charge, and can we
in reality change our destiny? All valuable questions; however, the moral behind those questions
will be within the novels of John Steinbeck.
The Great Depression is a major event that happened in history. The Great Depression started in
1929 and ended in 1939. In the novel Of Mice and Men, the characters are struggling through The

Spearmint Log
In this research paper, I am determining which gum will last the longest. It may come to your
surprise that mint flavored gum lasts longer than fruit flavored gum. To do my project, I am taking
five different gum flavors and chewing them to determine which flavor lasts. The types of gum I
will be using are Juicy Fruit, Fruit Stripe, Spearmint, Extra Polar Ice, and Bubblicious. When I
chew the gum, I hypothesize that the Spearmint gum will last longer.
The reason mint gum lasts longer is that mint is a very strong oil with a strong distinct flavor. The
flavor will simply last longer as it s a stronger taste. Although you may have thought that Juicy Fruit
or Fruit Stripe may last longer because it s strong fruit flavor, but the mint actually

Plato s Theory of Human Knowledge Essay
Plato s Theory of Human Knowledge
Plato contended that all true knowledge is recollection. He stated that we all have innate
knowledge that tells us about the things we experience in our world. This knowledge, Plato
believed, was gained when the soul resided in the invisible realm, the realm of The Forms and The
Good.
Plato s theory of The Forms argued that everything in the natural world is representative of the
ideal of that form. For example, a table is representative of the ideal form Table. The form is the
perfect ideal on which the physical table is modeled. These forms do not exist in the natural world,
as they are perfect, and there is nothing perfect in the natural world. Rather the forms exist in the
invisible realm, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
is recollected.
However, in proving that what we call learning is actually recollection, Plato also proved that the
soul is immortal. As was stated, there is no example of true perfection in our world. Yet, we can
imagine the idea of perfection. Where could this idea come from if we have not experienced it in
our world? We must have experienced it at some point if the idea is within us.
Thus, Plato argued that the soul must have existed outside of the natural world. In order for this to
be so, it must be immortal, living before it came into this world. It only stands to reason, Plato
contended, that it must continue to exist after it leaves this world. How else would it have been in
existence before it came into this world? Plato believed that it was a rational assumption that our
soul must continue to exist even after our death.
Whether Plato believed that the soul migrates from one lifetime to another, one body to another,
some would say is unclear. However, I believe that the idea of recollection leans heavily on the
assumption that the soul is residing within the invisible realm before it comes into existence in the
physical realm.
If the soul migrates from one body to another at one person s death and another s birth, then we
would still have no explanation for the soul s knowledge of the forms. For wouldn t the previous
life have been spent in the natural world, just as this life is? As has already been argued,

American Art Observation
For this observation, I went to the American Art section on the first floor of the Philadelphia
Museum of Art. When you first walk into the exhibition you see a bunch of glass showcases and
to the right was a whole hallway and section designated to Thomas Eakins. The Thomas Eakins
section is rather large so I ventured there first. All of his pieces are so well done and lifelike.
Although, there was so much to pick from, I found a small brown set of five figures in a glass
case the most interesting. Each one is only the size of my hand. They are intriguing because not
only are they in a well lit big glass box in a darker hallway, but they are on a smaller scale than

Eakins was born in Philadelphia in 1844. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Artsin
1862 complimenting his artist career. A year later although, he decided to study anatomy at the
Jefferson Medical College (Krieg 191). This new found muse for anatomy sparked his realist
artwork. Eakins art historical significance is rooted in his identity as a studious realist whose
painting draws its force from extensive scientific research into anatomy, perspective, reflection
and motion (Leja 479). Pieces such as his anatomical bronze casts of the human foot and knee
showed his appreciation for capturing the little details and scale of the human body. The
particular painting William Rush Carving His Allegorical Figure of Schuylkill River was a step
by step process. Eakins wanted this painting to be as real as it could be, so he used different
methods to capture details. For his first method, he sculpted small figurines so he had a three
dimensional object to be able to observe the subjects in different points of view and to test light
and shadow ( Philadelphia Museum of Art: Handbook of the Collections ). Since this was just a
mere step, he didn t spend too much time on it. He used scraps and materials commonly found in
his studio. The three figurines of The Schuylkill Freed, George Washington, and the Water Nymph
and Bittern were models of statues William Rush sculpted, that Eakins wanted to include in his

Economic Development Strategy For The City Of Sydney
Basic Summary
Sydney is Australia s worldwide city, and the main learning based economy in the country. More
than $100 billion for each annum is produced in Sydney. That is more than half of what the whole
mining part creates, and double the span of the horticultural division at the farm gate.
In the course of the most recent five years our city economy has demonstrated its flexibility by
withstanding the worldwide financial recession. About 2000 organisations were added to the city
since 2007. Major urban restoration ventures over the City of Sydney are giving occupations and
lodging. Green Square, Australia s biggest urban redevelopment task, is only 3.5kms from the
downtown area. The $8 billion redevelopment will give homes to 11,000 new inhabitants and
22,000 new labourers.
Economic Development Strategy for the City
The City of Sydney s 10 year Economic Development Strategy will help convey a realistic vision
for a significantly more dynamic, earth feasible economy, and a liveable city that works for
inhabitants, labourers, guests and understudies. Activity arrangements will bolster our current
monetary qualities, for example, the fund, tourism and retail areas; and develop new, rising parts,
for example, the evening time economy and green economy divisions. We are as of now putting
$1.9 billion in a 10 year framework project including Light Rail and the change of George Street;

Realism In The Alchemist
The Alchemist is one of Ben Jonson s four extraordinary comedies. The most earliest recorded

In The Alchemist the master of the house, Lovewit goes to countryside to avoid th palgue. With his

citizens into sovereigns, witches, dukes, and divine beings? Or, on the other hand beet juice into

Since that is precisely what happens in front of an audience. We pay great cash to go see a show

This painting was created by the artist Parmigianino in 1534 1535 during the Renaissance
Mannerism time period in Florence, Italy. The painting is oil on wood. The painting portrays the
Virgin Mary placed on a high pedestal in extravagant robes, holding a very large baby Jesuson her
lap. Next to her are a few angels showing interest in the baby Jesus. In the lower right hand corner
of the painting shows the emaciated figure of St. Jerome. A representation of St. Jerome was
required by the administrator because of the saint s relation with the adoration of the Virgin Mary.

Pglo Transformation Lab Write Up
Introduction
The transformation is the process in which the foreign cell DNA is hosted to hereditarily modify
the cell. It is very useful tool for genetics because it enables them to introduce foreign DNA into
bacteria, and useful for gene cloning in bacteria by making them carry specific gene sequences.
The DNA fragment is the blueprint for every piece of the bacteria. The information in the DNA and
RNA can be copied and translated into proteins. Depending on roles the proteins move to various
part of the bacteria, which transport the proteins around the cells. There are many different ways in
which bacteria obtain foreign DNA, involving the procedures of transformation. In transformation,
bacteria carry their DNA from the environment through their cell wall. Frederick Griffith discovers
the process of transformation in 1928 while examining virulent bacteria that cause pneumonia in
mice. Griffith used two strains of pneumococcus bacteria: a virulent, smooth strain (S strain) and a
non virulent rough strain. When mice were injected with smooth strain it killed the mice and the
non virulent rough strain, mice were healthy and alive. The mice that are exposed to r strain cells

Associate Degree versus Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Throughout history, a nurse has been defined as a person caring for the sick (Merriam Webster,

Science or a Bachelor of Science Degree, all candidates must pass the national licensure exam.
This enables the new graduate nurse to practice as a registered nurse. This new R.N. graduate is

In 1952, Mildred Montag, in response to the nursing shortage, designed a program to counter the
college level nursing programs. An associate degree was the end result. (Haase, 2006, p. 1)
To answer the question posed: Is the nursing education level a contributing issue in the deliverance
of quality care and patient safety? The American Association of Colleges of Nursing believes that
baccalaureate prepared nurses like other health care providers, practice at a higher level. Nurses
processing a Bachelor s Degree are molded to adapt to the changing health care environment and its
demands. This can be accomplished by leadership development, as well as critical thinking
emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention across all environments of care . (American
Association of Colleges of Nursing [AACN], 2012, p. 1)
With the health care system changing so rapidly, it is important that nurses are autonomous. It is
necessary, as patient advocates, that we understand the cause and effect of all entities involving our
patients. Critical thinking and making the correct judgment call clinically is vital. A patient

Juz Kitson
Juz Kitson is an Australian installation and sculpture ceramicist who primarily works with
porcelain. Kitson, however, also employs many other types of clay and materials which she
individually forms into larger installation pieces. With the uses of both traditional and contemporary
modes of moulding, glazing and coating, Kitson conveys the complexity of notions of being such
as life and death, beauty and the grotesque, the permanent and impermanent.
Kitson was born in Sydney in 1987 and attended the National Art School, Sydney. From there she

Kitson usually begins by creating slip cast moulds to create multiples of shapes, using various
porcelains and clays. However Kitson favours Southern Ice porcelain due to its aesthetic
properties such as its white colour and translucency which often she leaves in its natural raw
state. Kitson then proceeds to paint, glaze and fire her ceramic pieces in communal kilns in
Jingdezhen, China. This is important for her creative process as it helps to connect her pieces to
their historical origin and also allows her to fire as much as possible due to the enormity of the
kilns. Kitson then uses the coating method of physical vapour disposition. This method was
created by NASA in 2010. Kitson prefers this new and highly technologically advanced practice
because it prevents the erosion of the clays and porcelain, and can use both organic and inorganic
coatings and is more environmentally friendly than most coating techniques. Once this is
complete, the ceramic pieces are brought back to Australia to be assembled into her installations.
She also attaches material like horse hair and silk at this stage. Kitson also hunts around the Hill

she then dips them in porcelain and allows for the porcelain to dry. These are then also added to

his father at all. He has the need to feel complete and finding his father is what he believes will do

Huma is an actress who goes through the movie chasing a girl that will only bring her pain. Nina

Research Paper on Anabolic-androgenic Steroids
Research Paper on Anabolic androgenic Steroids
Anabolic androgenic steroids are a group of hormones, which includes the natural male hormone,
testosterone, and a number of synthetic compounds. Anabolic refers to muscle building, while
androgenic refers to increased masculine characteristics. Anabolic effects are basically muscle
growth. Androgenic effects produce secondary male sex characteristics like facial hair, body hair,
deepening of the voice, and so on. In the 1950 s scientists were trying to isolate the muscle building
properties without the masculinizing effects. This lead to the development of synthetic anabolic
steroids.

Overall steroids are illegal, and dangerous, but they are still used by many people. Steroids go
straight to the bloodstream, quicker if they are injected. When taken orally they first go through
the liver. Basically steroids work like this: A steroid enters the bloodstream and is carried into
the muscle cell by diffusion then it binds to a receptor site. (These are certain areas in a cell that
are receptive to free floating molecules in the blood). The connection formed lets the steroid send
a message to the receptor site to have some sort of a metabolic change in the cell. This is primarily
increased protein synthesis and nitrogen retention (Taylor 143 145). This leads to increased size
and strength in the muscle cell.
There are a number of ways that anabolic steroids are used including medical uses. Some people
take steroids orally, by injection, or by rubbing gels or creams onto skin. Abusers take 10 100 times
larger doses than would be prescribed by a doctor (Blue and Lombardo 98).
Stacking is a way of using. This means the abuser takes two or more different anabolic steroids.
Sometimes they mix oral and injectable types. Some people even use compounds that are used for
veterinary uses. These abusers who use stacking think that the effect of the mixing of the drugs will
have a greater affect than using them alone. This theory has now been scientifically researched
though (Blue and Lombardo

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Quantitative Easing
Introduction
The main issue, which has been seen in the emerging economies, is that the growing inflation and

This is not the first time that these economies are facing this hurdle, because in the previous year
also there were some loans taken by the European Central Bank in order to help these economies.
However, the payment of these loans was a hurdle for the central bank. This issue has now become
more critical due to the emerging technical issue in the European economies (Handl Paterson, 2013).

This research provides with the idea that the situation of the European Economies is very critical

A Brief Biography Of Laura Ingalls Wilder
Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote many books that we are familiar with today; in particular, the Little
House series. Even before Laura Ingalls Wilder had the fame of the books, which were not
published until later in her life, she would write short nonfiction pieces for newspapers and
magazines (Hines). Laura Ingalls Wilderstarted first as a teacher, fell in love with and married
Almanzo Wilderwhich caused her to quit teaching, and subsequently had two children a daughter
named Rose and a son who died soon after his birth. Although Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote many
books which are what gained her lasting success; she also wrote essays about her outlook on life
as well as politics during WWI. Rose, her daughter, grew up and like her mother eventually
began to write for a newspaper. She encouraged her mother to write about her childhood. The
original story Ms. Wilder wrote was very different than the one we are familiar with today.
Originally called, Pioneer Girl, it was a first person account covering her life from about the time
she was three until the age of eighteen, and began with the words Once upon a time... (Mumford).

that is exactly what her writings have done, they have captured the essence of the pioneer way of

Bin Laden s The Nautilus
Technology is a vine creeping slowly, ready to engulf the whole of the Earth in years to come. It
has been necessary to countless advances in the world, but many think that it could be a
foreshadowing of something sinister. The belief in this underlying future has led to dichotomous
interpretations of a technological domination. These often focus on robots with an artificial
intelligence superior to human intelligence. They are able to defeat the human race, with their
advanced, albeit artificial, thinking. It is not difficult to find someone or something ready to
preach of the possibility of a robot apocalypse. While a total robot takeover is likely far off, robots
are still altering the human world at a rapid rate. A major theme in... Show more content on

What this could mean for the future is difficult to say with any surety. However, the more
optimistic people like to speculate that robots will become an increasingly important and
accepted part of human society. They may rule the world, be like pets, or simply be the
backbone of many industries. Whether a more Jetson s type reality, or a more Terminator type
one, there is no doubt that they will be a part of the future. Despite all they have done for the
world, robots have a very unique and extensive history of villainization. There will be many
opportunities for them in the future to either make or break society. Popular theories of a robot
war are often favorites, but a lot of the possible realities involve a much more passive takeover.
Overall, robots are an important aspect to be educated about in this changing world. Simply
understanding the implications of artificial intelligence can completely change its impact. Robots

Kallistos Ware Beliefs
One of the most important characteristics of faith that Kallistos Ware highlights is the idea that
much, if not all, of one s relationship with God, is based off of instinctive feelings as opposed to
other feasible elements. As Ware states, Faith is not the supposition that something might be true,
but the assurance that someone is there. Faithin God, as Ware explains in this quotation, is not
merely believing in God due to elements of scripture or teaching, but is instead something that
occurs after personal experiences that provide a basis for the presence of God in one s life.
Additionally, these personal experiences not only need to occur, but also need to be interpreted and
attributed to God. However, this can be difficult for many,

The Young Man Of A Slave, Jarvius Cotton
The young man of a slave, Jarvius Cotton, experienced the harsh treatment of consequences

Cotton s story further depicts the old saying, The more things change, the more they remain the

It was as if they were in a constant mode towards the subjection and oppression of a cylinder

American families living in the U.S., the net worth of the average black household in the United

Essay On Black Friday
Long lines, crowds of people, a million sale signs, standing in below zero weather, and a bright

devouring a massive meal with lots of turkey, fighting others over items and being uncivilized

Shopping on Black Friday Makes you feel Like a Well Loved Warrior provides a handful of
logical evidence to demonstrate the increased consumer participation growth on Black Friday.
Black Friday is ballooning the ritualistic shopping frenzy on the day after thanksgiving is now
just one part of a $50 billion weekend of commercial excess that includes Small Business
Saturdays and Cyber Monday. (n.p). As the American society keeps joining in on the holiday
sales, Handwerk creates a point of the competitiveness between companies that do anything to
draw in more money. Not only is there challenges growing among businesses, but within people
too, a survey by the National Retail Federation, about 26 percent of 18 to 24 year olds plan to
shop on the holiday itself. (n.p). People of this age are catching on to the trend faster than others
and find themselves building bonds when they share a common goal. Black Friday is the outlet
and excuse for families to gather and buy each other gifts for Christmas. It s the thrill of the buy,
and the method to engage with close ones to accomplish their goal, on this year s Black Friday, the
National Retail Federation estimates that more that 95 million Americans will rise with the sun and
race through crowded stores competing for the bargains. (n.p.). Handwerk includes reliable sources

from different countries have pointed out several health issues in IT workers like ocular

(Shrivastava Bhopate, 2012). The most common overuse injury associated with computer use is
Carpel Tunnel syndrome (Ali Sathiyasekaran, 2006). The musculo skeletal problems are
significantly related to the number of working hours. Computer vision syndrome and
musculoskeletal problems are increasing among software professionals globally. To reduce vision
and musculo skeletal morbidities, interventions should focus on redesigning and improving
workstation ergonomics (Shrivastava Bhopate, 2012). Globally, information technology is one of
the fastest growing industry. This growth puts a lot of pressure on IT professionals to deliver
efficiently. There is constant pressure of competition, targets, meeting aggressive deadlines, rapid
obsolescence of skills, and working long hours. The job stress coupled with poor diet and low
physical activity is a perfect cocktail for morbidities in this population. A study exploring the
occupational stress, mental health and coping among IT professionals in Hyderabad, India
revealed that job stress and not job satisfaction or dissatisfaction affected the wellbeing of
employees (Rao Chandraiah, 2012). Study of IT employees of Canandian technology firms
concluded that stress, anxiety and depression are high among tech workers (Sutton, 2003). In a

Sociological Perspectives on Religion Essay example
Religion is a ritualized system of beliefs and practices related to things defined as sacred by an
organized community of believers. (Basirico et.al. 379). Religion is an important element in the
society because it influences the way individuals act and think. It has shaped the relationship and
bonding among families as well as influenced the decision made in economics and politics. Religion
in general has contributed to shape a society and a government structure which will influence the
way the individuals under certain governmental structure behave. Sociologists are interested in
religion mainly because religious belief is heavily rooted in individuals lives and it helps

However, no matter how sociologists and scientists view religion, there are a lot of people who
will still believe in their own religion and that there exists a power that science cannot explain. For
example, in an Islamic country such as Indonesia, government is organized base on what is
appropriate according to Islam. Even though, there are a lot of people questions the existence of
supernatural power and hundreds of books publish that study the scientific view of religion,
government and people in that country still believe in their religions. Students at school also
study about science and sociological perspective toward religion and almost every student still
believe in their religion and practice it in their societies. Moreover, in US where freedom of
speech is allowed and knowledge can be shared quickly by internet, every person in US knows
about scientific study of religion but Christianity is still emphasized in everyday life. People
may only view sociological and scientific perspective of religion as one of the knowledge that
need to be known but doesn t have to be practiced. Overall, the sociological study in religions
does not undermine nor strengthen one s faith. Other factors such as people who use religion to
abuse people or control over people that may have made a person to change their view toward
religion. Sociologists also view religion as part

Sahira Younas In the two sonnets, Remember by Christina Rossetti and The Cross of Snow by
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, the authors address death and remembrance indicating similarities
when exploring grieving process but also demonstrate its differences through literary techniques.
They both utilized symbolism, imagery, and metaphorical language but showed differences in tone.
Christina Rossetti and Henry Longfellow utilized symbolism to signify ideas and qualities by
giving them symbolic meanings that guides the reader to understand the poem as a whole. In

An angel is pure, bright, and serene. The halo pale light (line 4) accurately tells the reader that it
is not an obnoxious light rather, it is a tolerable light. The poet wants to show that the wife of the
speaker symbolizes divine purity. Another thing the two sonnets share is metaphorical language;
it used to imply a comparison between two things that are unrelated but share some common
ground. Christina Rossetti establishes an idea of metaphorically remaining alive through
remembrance. The juxtaposition in line 1, Remember me and gone away implies that the poet
suggests that the memory is the last thing a person has that still ties them to life. Henry
Longfellow utilizes metaphorical language when he compares a tangible object to emotions. He
includes, There is a mountain.../that.../displays a cross of snow upon its side. / Such is the
cross I wear upon my breast (lines 9 12). The image of a mountain that bears a cross shape filled
with snow manifests an image of the angelic figure going towards heaven. Longfellow purposely
used a mountain to further implicate religious ideas; the height of the mountain shows that is
closer to heaven because it is going upward. The snow symbolizes the wife and that she is on the
peak of the mountain, reaching towards heaven. He wears the pain of the loss of his wife on his
chest because she is within his soul. There are contrasting tones that each of the poets give to the

  • 2. Essay on Zoroastrianism s Role in Christianity s Development Zoroastrianism s Role in Christianity s Development Christianity is one of the most popular religions of the early 21st century. Through the course of Christianity s first millennia it was able to rise from its original twelve followers to become the state religion of Rome and the mighty empire which it held. However, unbeknownst to many, the concepts that exist in Christianity and Judaism (the religion from which Christianity spawned) were initially conceived by the nearly dead religion of Zoroaster. Christianity is closely modeled after the Zoroastrain s beliefs in the afterlife, redemption, judgment, duality of deities, apocalypse and messiahs. Whether Christianity adopted or coincidentally shared the beliefs of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Zoroaster died they waited patiently for the apocalypse to come. After a few years had passed they decided it would occur at the end of a millennia.1 Although Christians will argue that their religion is monotheistic, virtually all other religions argue to the contrary. Muslims and Jews both consider the Christian Holy Trinity to be clear evidence of tri theism. This is a view which has great weight to it. If God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all gods, then it seems logical to say that indeed the Christians are tri theists. This is belief in three gods is shared by the Zoroastrians, who believe that Ahura Mazda, Spenta Mainyu and Anghra Mainyu are all gods. Christians and Zoroastrians both believe in a cosmic dualism. This dualism manifests itself in the struggle between two non empirical beings which represent good and evil. This is a corner stone of both religions. The follower becomes a soldier in the struggle for good, whereas non believers are told they are working for the evil deity. It is also promised that good will eventually triumph over evil at the onset of the apocalypse. All though the two religions both possess this dualism, there is one subtle difference between the two. In the Zoroastrian faith the two forces are represented entirely by gods. The evil Anghra Mainyu against the good Spenta Mainyu and Ahura Mazda. However, in Christianity the force of good is a god, whereas the evil force is a mere spirit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Neuman Systems Model Neuman systems model. The NSM identifies that any system has boundaries meant to protect a single client, family, or social issue within the system (Neuman Fawcett, 2011). The model is dynamic with a continuum of variables that influence the stability of the system. The influence, such as stressors, can alter the system or restore the system. A principle of the NSM is optimal wellness represented as the greatest degree of system stability (Neuman Fawcett, 2011). The NSM theory asserts nursing to care for a complex systsem, requiring an approach to assimilate and adapt into the system. The NSM utilizes the internal and external cues of the environment to influence the system. The nature of the system determines the complexity of the system.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... NSM depicts stress and reaction to the stability of stress on the system. A patient and/or family reaction to the transition from oncology care to hypervigilance in primary care can experience stress, most often as psychological distress. The repeated cyclical nature of the response to the stresses of changed home life, family functioning, body image, handling daily activities, or connecting with a support group changes the client. The ideal of NSM is to attain optimal stability and reach a new developmental level (Neuman Fawcett, 2011). NSM fits the need of the PICO project through the interpretation of concepts and the dynamic nature of stressors and reactions to the basic structure (patient and/or family). A key component in utilization of the NSM for screening psychological distress after oncology care, is self report of the instability of transition to a new lifestyle. Cancer related psychological distress is widespread (Hoffman, 2012). The distress can remain hidden as priorities in cancer rehabilitation and family adjustment take place. The initial stressor of the cancer diagnosis creates a change in the patient and/or family (basic structure functioning and energy resources), however after cancer treatment (variables), the client system (patient and/or family) still is adjusting to change (lines of resistance). Patients and families may not go back to their prior life (environment) but transition into a new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Level of Performance of Fourth Year Public Highschool... INTRODUCTION The Philippine educational setting is bilingual in nature, thus the level of performance of public high school students towards English proficiency in learning creates its possibility to be monolingual by using the considered foreign language as the standard language in teaching is impossible yet can be proven by theoretical studies to be conducted. Many accounts of constitutional laws, studies and facts regarding this issue of using the English language in teaching academic subjects such as science and technology can well explain its effective usage in the world of language education namely: the English language proficiency public students show, the legal basis it holds, the level of performance the public high school ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using the level of performance shown by public high school students is a logical proof to be sustained in this field of analysis. Furthermore, to justify this study, another arising credential is the determined number of students passing the examinations. The fourth year public high school students passing the institute of higher learning gives a significant resolution to the argument rose upon by using English language in the field of teaching. The passing percentage of students coming from public schools provides us with enough basis. College entrance exams in prominent universities here in the Philippines are mostly presented in full English text, except for the UPCAT exam. The number of students passing entrance examinations as presented facts is further established through accumulating data, which serves as its foundation. Finally, the process of publishing books can concretize these justifications. The revision of textbooks and workbooks being used in teaching science and math is done due to the fast proliferation of concepts used, which are usually in the English language. The standard language used in any publication of science and mathematics textbooks and workbooks are English. This does make it possible of stating English as the standard language of education (Otanes, 1988, pp.84 85). In publishing books, the process of using English is but a firm stand, giving merit to English ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Royal Ontario Museum Research Paper Museums are institutions of cultural, artistic, and scientific knowledge. They have taken many forms over the centuries, Older museums subscribed to elitist ideologies. The architecture and interior design of these highbrow establishments reflected this with either over the top grandeur or stark, blinding white galleries. However, has museumvalues became rooted in the community and public education, the architecture changed as well. The Royal Ontario Museum consists of two interconnected main buildings. The original build and its early 1933 renovation are an exemplar of traditional sensibilities. In stark contrast to them, however, is the Michael Lee Chin Crystal which embodies the essence of new museum aesthetics. The design of the Royal Ontario Museum is a perfect blend of traditional and new museum values as is evident in its innovative design. Early 18th and 19th century museums and many other buildings were built in the neoclassical style. Inspiration was taken directly from recently excavated Roman ruins. Early museums acted more like over the top cabinets of wonder, catering only to academics and elite individuals. However as so too did museum designs. Of course, museums exist in a multitude of architectural styles. The list of historical buildings that act as museums is endless. International style arose to reflect the modernist art style and the social sensibilities of the 20th century. This design was often composed of simple material and straight lines. The goal of international style was to act as a blank canvas on which to display artworks. It wasn t until later in the 20th century that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ishmael Beah was one of them. Ishmael is a kind looking Sierra Leonean man. If eyes are truly windows to the soul then his dark eyes reveal pacifism and kindness. He tends to wear collared shirts and jackets, giving off an air of sophistication. He is a good man and his looks show it. Ishmael is a kind man, working for his fellow child soldiers. He is someone I look up to. He is a former child soldier who was forced to do unspeakable acts even though at heart he is a fairly gentle person. He is a lover of music and often memorized songs and used to sing and rap them with his friends. He is a strong person who has gone through hell and back, and yet he is still able to smile and forgive himself for what he s done.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His mother, father and two brothers were trapped in their house and slowly burned to death. This happened only a few weeks after their former home was attacked and raided by rebels. But it is a better fate then some because one of his now deceased, friend s 3 sisters were raped over and over again. while their father was knocked out for trying to defend them and their mother being forced to watch. The rebels took the girls with them. Ishmael s fate was not much better than the 3 girls for he became a child soldier: traumatized and hopped up on drugs and told to avenge his family by killing every rebel and snorting cocaine until he no longer felt anything. The Romantic Era was a literary movement that swept through virtually every country in the 18th century that encompassed placing importance on the beauty of nature, passion of the imagination and human emotions. The emphasis was on self expression and individual uniqueness whereas, society should be driven by passionate emotions rather than strict confining rules and rituals. There was a great interest in the mysteries of life, intuition and the pursuit of divine revelation whereas, the spirit of God is present in all humans and animals. • 8. Essay On Children During The Industrial Revolution Experiences of children in the Industrial Revolution Before the Industrial Revolution, people had to do work by themselves or only with the help of animals. This all changed when the Industrial Revolution began and machines were introduced. Machines made improved the efficiency and quality of products and also reduced the effort and manpower needed to complete tasks. Men generally provided much of the labour however, children and women were commonly seen in workplaces such as mines and textile factories. Children were unfortunately the victims not beneficiaries of the Industrial Revolution. They worked in many industries such as textile and mining and there was no restriction of how young they were or for how long they worked for. Due to this lack of regulation, children worked for many hours from early in the morning to late at night. If the children did not please their overseers, they would receive cruel punishments such as being hit with a strap to make them work faster or being dipped head first into a pot full of water to wake them up. Some punishments were even crueller, as John Brown wrote in the Lion newspaper in 1828, Woodward and other overlookers used to beat me with pieces of thick leather straps made supple by oil, and having an iron buckle at the end, drew blood almost every time it was applied (History Learning Site, 2014). A number of children had to face inhumane punishments such as the ones that John Brown faced. Children were forced to work for long hours and as hard as they could and they were treated with little, if any, respect. The working lives of children were very inhumane which emphasises that they did not benefit from the Industrial Revolution. • 10. How To Illustrate The Two Ways Of International Expansion... Companies have an amazing ability to grow and develop on the market. Companies are able to expand on several different platforms including nationally, internationally, online and many other ways. How companies are able to develop gives a good idea to how successful they will be in the long run. By developing different strategies companies are able to develop nationally as well of internationally. By reaching out into new markets, companies are able to expand even beyond borders. Describe two major ways in which a company can grow. Give examples to illustrate the two ways of growing. Companies are able to grow in many different ways. Two of those ways are international expansion and inorganic growth. With international expansion companies decide to move their companies to another country in hopes of breaking into the market in the host countries. Trading in the European union has risen by 30% in the last 30 years(Davis, p2). Companies want to expand internationally because they are able to hire for cheaper and establish a competitive advantage over their competition.Growing internationally can be very difficult. Differences in language, culture, laws, production cost and other situations that can cause conflict. Inorganic growth is when a company s joins other already established companies. • 11. Mass Media And Its Effect On The Air Waves Mass media distribution has been around since the invention of the printing press. (Gerbner, 1999) However, broadcast radio presented a higher level of distribution speed to this process and allowed for an extended reach to consumers. Since its creation, this technology has been controlled by FCC regulations and advertising support, limiting the freedom of the broadcasters so all of the possible listeners are happy. Between the government maintenance and listening trends, the range of music and content on the air waves has been reduced to 5 basic genres. The introduction of the internet has allowed this medium to once again evolve. The reach has been greatly extended, advertising made optional and freedom of use increased. This being said, the largest attraction to internet radio is its ability to be customized by the listener. Historically, the concept of internet radio has been around since the early 1990s. These broadcasts were still very limited because most of them were streams from terrestrial radio stations or niche talk shows. Carl Malamud began this phenomena with a weekly computer talk show, interviewing experts and streaming it openly online. These types of broadcasts became so popular that The Rolling Stone began playing a concert over the web as well. This idea would be copied over and over again by every musician and music producer. • 12. An Investigation Of The Capacity And Lateral Torsional... Abstract The study includes an investigation of the stresses, deflections capacity and lateral torsional buckling behavior of regular I section steel column of jib crane subjected to a axial compressive eccentric loading. The lateral torsional buckling is the main failure mode that controls the design of slender column. Different shapes of columns are proposed in this study with different cross section, web shapes and materials. Finite element analysis and experimental study are carried out on both types (i.e. Regular and proposed column) to calculate and validate results. An optimization technique is used to optimize the solution from proposed different designs. The thickness of the web and thickness of column is constant for all specimens with length 2 to 3 m and tested for 500, 750 and 1000 Kg load lifting capacity. Structural analysis is done to examine the influence of the section dimension due to axial compressive eccentric loading on column. Using the study it is observed that not only the web thickness, but also the shape of web, angle of web and sectional cross section of steel column influences the resistance to lateral torsional bucklingand bending. Keywords Slender, bending, lateral torsional buckling, sectional cross section, web shape. • 13. Hamlet Soliloquies Analysis All seven soliloquies in the play are based on several common themes such as death, incest, pain, fear, emptiness of existence, and pride and hypocrisy that make us human. To create these themes and further develop character, Shakespeare uses certain techniques. First of all, Shakespeare employs blank verse to create a smooth flowing rhythm and cadence. He masterfully switches back and forth between fast and slow pace by utilizing both short choppy sentences and fluent long ones. Secondly, it is clear that the soliloquies do not waste any word. Each syllable and sound adds depth to the development of Hamlet. Each soliloquy successfully conveys to the reader Hamlet s state of mind and intensity of his emotion. Most importantly, the soliloquies reveal something special that the play itself does no t. Just by looking at the play separately, it i s very hard for readers to notice the character development that Hamlet goes through. For instance, the beginning soliloquies prove that Hamlet is indecisive and irresolute. Thus, it i s the soliloquy found in each aAct of the play that readers can watch Hamlet grow internally. As an uptight and hypersensitive individual, Hamlet never seems to reveal much about his thoughts throughout the whole play. In fact, since Hamlet is inclined to express his emotions in a physically interactive way, including his abusive interaction with his mother and aggressive physical contact with Laertes and Claudius, it is rather difficult for the audience to interpret his intentions and his thoughts. His soliloquies, however, are the only ways in which the audience can finally gain an understanding of his thoughts. This soliloquy, also being the first, reveals him to be thoroughly disgusted with Gertrude, Claudius, and the world in general. This is when the King Claudius and Queen Gertrude urges Hamlet in the open court to cast off the deep melancholy which, as they think, has taken possession of his mind as a consequence of his father s death. In their opinion, Hamlet has sufficiently grieved for his father s death already. Prior to the soliloquy, King Claudius and Queen Gertrude announce their marriage, as according to them, the court cannot afford excessive grief, which further saddens ... • 14. Inductive Vs. Inductive Reasoning Although inductive reasoning is as we shall see not logically continuous, it is nevertheless a seemingly parsimonious avenue for the formation of theories and conceptions about the world around us. The sun has risen and fallen every day up until this point in time and while this may not logically prove that it will do the same tomorrow, the popular belief is that this repetition gives us a firm ontological grounding for expecting it to do so. This does not seem unreasonable, at least in one sense of the word; indeed, if you happened to meet an individual who claimed to possess an agnostic belief about whether or not the sun is likely to reappear tomorrow, then you would most likely consider them to be a very odd person. So inductive inferences are all around us, they are the functional basis of our understanding of the world. For the sake of this paper, then, it is important to understand what we mean when we talk about an inductive inference. Presented in its most rudimentary construct, the inductive inference appears in the logical form: (I)Pa1,..., Pan Pan+1, or (II)Pa1,..., Pan AxPx. Let us briefly explore these two statements. In statement (I), an+1 denotes a different object or form from those denoted by a1 ,...., an. During the application of these principles (I) and (II), we are to assume that we do not know any non P s, and furthermore that the class of a1 ,..., an are the sole objects for which we know that they are P s. Nicotine has a powerful addicting effect because it is absorbed rapidly into the pulmonary circulation following inhalation from which it passes through the left side of the heart and into the cerebral circulation. It rapidly crosses the blood brain barrier and binds to specific receptors in various parts of the brain. Stimulation of receptors by nicotine results in the activation of a number of neurohumoral pathways leading to release of acetylcholine, norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin, vasopressin and various hormones. Nicotine causes the release of the substance b endorphin, an endogenous peptide that also binds to opiate receptors. This indicates a link between addiction to opiates, such as morphine and heroin, and addiction to nicotine. Nicotine affects nearly all components of the endocrine and neuroendocrine systems, including catecholamines, serotonin, corticosteroids and pituitary hormones. Some of these endocrine effects are mediated by actions of nicotine on brain neurotransmitter systems. In addition, nicotine causes skeletal muscle relaxation and has cardiovascular effects. • 24. Plato s Theory of Human Knowledge Essay Plato s Theory of Human Knowledge Plato contended that all true knowledge is recollection. He stated that we all have innate knowledge that tells us about the things we experience in our world. This knowledge, Plato believed, was gained when the soul resided in the invisible realm, the realm of The Forms and The Good. Plato s theory of The Forms argued that everything in the natural world is representative of the ideal of that form. For example, a table is representative of the ideal form Table. The form is the perfect ideal on which the physical table is modeled. These forms do not exist in the natural world, as they are perfect, and there is nothing perfect in the natural world. However, in proving that what we call learning is actually recollection, Plato also proved that the soul is immortal. As was stated, there is no example of true perfection in our world. Yet, we can imagine the idea of perfection. Where could this idea come from if we have not experienced it in our world? We must have experienced it at some point if the idea is within us. Thus, Plato argued that the soul must have existed outside of the natural world. In order for this to be so, it must be immortal, living before it came into this world. It only stands to reason, Plato contended, that it must continue to exist after it leaves this world. How else would it have been in existence before it came into this world? Plato believed that it was a rational assumption that our soul must continue to exist even after our death. Whether Plato believed that the soul migrates from one lifetime to another, one body to another, some would say is unclear. However, I believe that the idea of recollection leans heavily on the assumption that the soul is residing within the invisible realm before it comes into existence in the physical realm. If the soul migrates from one body to another at one person s death and another s birth, then we would still have no explanation for the soul s knowledge of the forms. For wouldn t the previous life have been spent in the natural world, just as this life is? As has already been argued, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is very useful tool for genetics because it enables them to introduce foreign DNA into bacteria, and useful for gene cloning in bacteria by making them carry specific gene sequences. The DNA fragment is the blueprint for every piece of the bacteria. The information in the DNA and RNA can be copied and translated into proteins. Depending on roles the proteins move to various part of the bacteria, which transport the proteins around the cells. There are many different ways in which bacteria obtain foreign DNA, involving the procedures of transformation. In transformation, bacteria carry their DNA from the environment through their cell wall. Overall steroids are illegal, and dangerous, but they are still used by many people. Steroids go straight to the bloodstream, quicker if they are injected. When taken orally they first go through the liver. Basically steroids work like this: A steroid enters the bloodstream and is carried into the muscle cell by diffusion then it binds to a receptor site. (These are certain areas in a cell that are receptive to free floating molecules in the blood). The connection formed lets the steroid send a message to the receptor site to have some sort of a metabolic change in the cell. This is primarily increased protein synthesis and nitrogen retention (Taylor 143 145). This leads to increased size and strength in the muscle cell.
