Comparing The Aztecs And Inca
Two principal indigenous populations in Latin America were the Aztecs and the Incas. The Aztecs
and Inca were both fully sedentary indigenous groups with a large empire and society. Each empire
has played a large role in the development of Latin America with their rich history and cultures.
From Mexico to South America, the legacies and treasures of these indigenous populations still live
on today.
Aztec history begins with their settlement of Mexico. The Aztec rulers were a group of people
called Mexicas and they spoke the common language of the region Nahuatl. The Mexicas were a
warlike group of people who settled and developed the Aztec Empire throughout 1400 1500

The Incas built large earthquake safe temples and structures using a technique of interlocking
stones (Chasteen 16). They were skilled architects and their most famous architecture can be seen
at Machu Picchu. Their cities consisted of large temples and a great display of gold and silver.
More than 14,000 miles of roads were constructed to connect the empire across the Andean
mountains (Clark). Painted ceramics and gold and silver treasures were a part of their artistry. Like
the Aztecs, their religious beliefs consisted in worshipping many gods, including worshipping the
sun, and human sacrifice along with the belief in reincarnation (Clark). To this day, the ruins of
Inca cities and communities still stand and are a testament to the exceptional engineering and talent
that composed Inca culture and

Comparison Of Heinrich Harrer And The Dalai Lama
The struggle for independence has been a pervasive theme in many nations histories and continues
to be a part of Tibet s make up. Since the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1949, over 6,000 Tibetan
Buddhist monasteries and shrines have been destroyed and any mention or reference of the Dalai
Lama has been banned. Heinrich Harrer and the Dalai Lamawere great friends, they both taught
each other valuable lessons in life. The Dalai Lama continued to spiritually preside in Tibetby
praying and setting an example for all his followers. In 1949, China sent tens of thousands of
troops to Tibet killing, capturing, and torturing thousands of Tibetan people as depicted in the
movie. Seven Years in Tibet provides an accurate depiction of the relationship

Harrer s expedition takes him through physical challenges to escape from prison, travel and
survive in the Himalayan region. He has to conquer mental obstacles relating to his failed
marriage and son that he has never seen as well as his desire to live or die. After he arrived in
Tibet, in the sacred city of Lhasa, Harrer eventually became friends with the Dalai Lama.
Foreigners in Lhasa were rare and Harrer became well known by many. The Dalai Lama was
fascinated by their culture and so he requested a meeting with Harrer, which was the beginning of
a unique friendship. The Dalai Lama asked Harrer to build him a movie theatre. Harrer agreed and
from that point on, their relationship grew with Harrer tutoring the Dalai Lama with knowledge of
the world, cultures, and geography. Their relationship developed with Harrer mentoring the Dalai
Lama and becoming an advisor and confidant. During the time that Harrer was in Tibet, China
invaded Tibet attempting to gain control of the country. China s attack influenced the Dalai Lama s
decisions and he relied on Harrer rather than his own

Federal Budget And The Budget
It is no secret, the federal budget is in a major deficit. The federal government continues to borrow
money to finance obligations that include Medicare, Social Security, military defense, federal
salaries and other programs. The more the government borrows; the deeper the country sinks into
debt (Krulick, 2015). As federal debt grows, the congress raises the allowable debt ceiling. The
Congressional Budget Office estimated the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was $17.3 trillion in
2014 and that the federal budget deficitwas $506 billion ( Congressional Budget Office, ).
I believe the sources I have used to research this date are credible. The Congressional Budget
Office claims to be a nonpartisan agency which makes no recommendations on policy. The agency
simply analyses budgets at the congressional level. Throughout my research, all sources reported
similar information regarding the budget. It is possible the information related to the federal
budget could be a skewed statistic or propaganda from one or another political party.
I determined the data related to the federal budget to be supportive of the Republican Party. The
Republican Party potentially may have constructed inaccurate information to help solicit votes for
an upcoming election or general support of their political party. It would be in the Republican
Party s favor to suggest a higher debt than the actual debt; for the reason that politicians may
emphasize the costs of domestic welfare programs that liberals

Differences Of Memory And The Past
Memory and the Past Do you know that Rebecca was the best seller novel sold between 1938
and 1965? The novel was written by Daphne du Maurier in 1938. The story is a mixture of love
and hate for the primary characters in Rebecca novel. It begins when a young, poor woman who
works with Ms. Van Hopper meets Maxim de Winter. Then the young women, narrator, feels in
love with Maxim de Winter and decide to get married to go with him to Manderley. After that she
meets Mrs. Danvers and the narrator feels uncomfortable because she seems like a devil woman.
The narrator feels deeply frustrate and upset because she thinks Maxim loves Rebecca crazily.
Then she founds the secret that Maxim does not love Rebecca, so she becomes better and gets
confidence again. Furthermore Maxim meets Dr. Baker and he tells him that Rebecca is not
pregnant, but she has had a cancer. In the end, Maxim returns back to Manderley and sees... Show

The first point of difference is Maxim De Winter never considering suicide. In the novel, the
action of suicide does not happen and is transformed to the narrator first time meet Maxim at the
hotel restaurant. On the other hand, in the film Maxim is standing at the edge of a cliff want to
jump off. Then the narrator prevents and stops him. The second point of difference is Rebecca s
death is much more graphic in the novel. In the novel Maxim killed her by shots with a pistol
and her blood is everywhere. However, in the film he strikes her and she falls down into a sharp
thing in the cottage. My final point of difference is Mrs. Danvers fate is left ambiguous. In the
novel Mrs. Danvers takes her possessions and left Manderley since nobody had seen her when she
leaves. Maxim expects that she played a role in burning Manderley. But in the film shows that Mrs.
Danvers in Rebecca s bedroom, looking out of the window as the house burns around her. These

Gender As A Person s Identity
Gender is imprinted in a person s identity. A person s identity is closely connected to the social
institutions he or she includes himself in. These social institutions have influence over the lives of
individuals in various aspects. One social institution an individual imparts oneself in is religion.
Religious institutions use scriptures as the primary basis for life such as the Holy Biblefor the
Catholics and the Quran for the Muslims. Of the data given, some Christians and Muslim non
heterosexuals experience social exclusion because of some spiritual texts (Yip, 2005). According
to a survey by Pew Research Center s Social Demographic Trends done in 2013 on the religious
affiliations, 48% of the LGBTAmericans did not have one. The executive director of the Gay
Christian Network, Justin Lee said, [the study] reflects a lot of my own experience in the LGBT
community. Many LGBT people have felt a lack of understanding and love from religious groups
Christians in particular and, as a result, they often walk away from their childhood faith and may
even become very hostile to religion. That statement is just one of the many sentiments non
heterosexuals experience in today s contemporary society. The following paragraphs will discuss
how Christian and Muslims non heterosexuals critique the traditional hermeneuticsand the
credibility of institutional interpretive authority of Judeo Christian Scriptures and Islam s Holy

Symbolism In Citizen Kane
In Citizen Kane, a wealthy newspaper tycoon named Charles Foster Kane dies a solitary death in
his sprawling estate Xanadu. In an attempt to discover just who this legendary yet private
individual was, a journalist named Jerry Thompson is tasked with discovering the meaning behind
his final words: Rosebud. Although Thompson interviews many of the people who the public
considered close to Kane including friends, ex lovers, and the memoirs of his childhood guardian,
he never truly discovers what he was tasked in finding out. In never discovering the meaning of
Rosebud, Thompson concludes that you cannot sum up the life of a man with just a single word,
saying the meaning of Rosebud was just a missing piece in a jigsaw puzzle. Throughout the... Show

The conflicting memories of those close to Kane help the spectator understand why Kane was
so lonely. Kane s desire for companionship is represented in the film by the presence of statues.
The people he tried to get close to always left him, even his ex wife for whom he built the
monstrous Xanadu. Kane buys so many statues in his desperation, because they appear human
yet cannot leave. These statutes serve as a motif signifying Kane s loneliness and how he
attempted to use his money to get people to stay in his life. In the closing moments of the film,
vast rooms brimming with boxes full of junk, many of which remain unopened, intermingle with
statues and help convey just how far Kane s obsession went, and how unfulfilled his life was. A
large portion of Kane s issues stemmed from how he was separated from his parents in his
youth. First seen innocently playing in the snow during the memoirs of Thatcher, his world is
turned upside down with the revelation that he is leaving his old life behind to become educated
under the guidance of his new guardian. The sled he is playing with and the setting in which he
was playing become a turning point in his life. At the end of the film, burning in a furnace with
the rest of Kane s possessions, Rosebud is shown to be the sled that Kane was using during that
snowy day when his life was changed forever. Rosebud was the sled that Kane used to try and push
away Thatcher,

Scope Of Practice For Licensed Practical Nurse
Scope of practice for the Licensed Practical Nurse: Future challenges to practice Carmen

been one of the fastest growing fields since the 1990 s (Mueller et al.,2012). Advocacy is
defined as an action in which a person speaks out, argues a cause, supports and defends on the
behalf of others. I believe that the role of being a patient advocate is one of the most important
things a nurse can do because there are many patients that cannot speak on their behalf, I believe
that it is up to the nurses to be those patients as well as all patient s voices (Mueller et al.,

Increase of Women Population in Prison Essay
Women in Prison
Introduction
The growing rate of women in prison has spawned widespread awareness in our society; leading
people to question why the percentage multiplied exponentially over the past three decades. In the
past, female offenders have not only been compared to their male counterparts, but to society s
view on the role of women; the roles that labeled them as housewives and mothers. But how did
these housewives and mothers go from the home to the prisons? The subject of women s issues has
sporadically been discussed in our society, and it has just recently being uncovered that women
operate differently than men in situations; and those differences are now starting to effect the
growth rate in the population of women in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was a time when, according to Hagan s theory, sons were more likely to be deviant because
they were not as restricted as their sisters. The sons were allowed to stay out late, hang out with
friends, and when their misdemeanors were fixed with the simple saying of boys will be boys .
With males having more freedom to commit delinquent acts, there was doubt that the men were
the majority of the population of prisons. As time passed and women began to embrace their
liberations, more and more of them began working outside the home. This sudden rise of women
in the workplace led to the shift in families. The number of egalitarian families in this nation
began to increase, and with that women held more equal weight in household decisions with their
husbands. A shift in the deviance of the children began to occur as well. Criminology theorists
Matza and Sykes (1957) believe that anyone can be freed up to be delinquent and under this
egalitarian household both boys and girls shared equal chances of doing just that, since there was
starting to be a lack of supervision. When the parents did come home from work the women would
bring the equal opportunity mentality with them so daughters were not being as restricted as they
were before.

Malignant Neoplasm Essay
What is a Malignant Neoplasm?
A malignant neoplasm is a tumor composed of poorly differentiated cells. Neo means new and
plasm refers to cells. The word neoplasm refers to abnormal overgrowth of cells rather than healthy
new cell growth. It is often used interchangeably with words such as tumor and cancer. It is a
cancerous tumor that grows, proliferates, infiltrates and metastasizes to other parts of the body. It
can spread to surrounding tissues, through lymph nodes or through the bloodstream. It often
requires surgical removal. If it is left untreated, it can result in death.

The tumor becomes larger and may possibly invade surrounding tissues or spread to other parts of
the body via the lymphatic system or the bloodstrem. If a vital organ such as the brain or liver or
multiple organs are extensively damaged by the cancer, then death will occur. The treatments
available for treating malignant cancer include surgery and chemotherapy. However, once metastasis
has occurred, the prognosis is poor and treatment is very complicated.
Some of the main types of cancer are described below:
Leukemia This affects the tissues that make blood, such as the bone marrow. Large numbers of
abnormal cells are produced in the bone marrow, which then spread to the bloodstream
Carcinoma This begins in the skin or tissues that line organs.
Lymphoma Originates in the immune system

The Importance Of Secondary Characters In Shakespeare s As...
As You Like It: The Importance of the Secondary Characters
As You Like It, by William Shakespeare, is a radiant blend of fantasy, romance, wit and humor. In
this delightful romp, Rosalind stands out as the most robust, multidimensional and lovable
character, so much so that she tends to overshadow the other characters in an audience s memory,
making them seem, by comparison, just stock dramatic types . Yet, As You Like It is not a stock
romance that just happens to have Shakespeare s greatest female role. The other members of the
cast provide a well balanced supporting role, and are not just stereotypes. Characters whom
Shakespeare uses to illustrate his main theme of the variations of love are all more than one use ...

Though the range of her acting sub roles alone would make the other characters look pale, the depth
of each of her many parts outshines many. As a woman in love she demonstrates a range of
emotion and action that far exceeds that of Celia, Phoebe or Audrey. It is her romance with
Orlando that is the focus of the play, and the one held up as the ideal, and therefore the one that
gets most of Shakespeare s attention as a playwright. Rosalind s gushing first meeting with
Orlando, a stark contrast to her masterly handling of Le Beau just before, shows a more
vulnerable Rosalind. Rosalind s playful fantasizing about Orlando after the wrestling match and
after verses start appearing on trees shows a depth of infatuation not explored with the other
characters, except Phoebe, though Phoebe is shown up to have a more stock kind of silly
infatuation rather than Rosalind s more courtly lovesickness. Rosalind s momentary drops of her
guise as Ganymede playing Rosalind, such as when she faints at seeing the bloody handkerchief,
show that Rosalind is human, and these involuntary glimpses of the true lover forced out by sheer
emotion place Rosalind on a higher level of love than the more ordinary, stereotypical posturing of
Phoebe.
As wit and philosopher Rosalind plays a dominant role, though here Celia, Touchstone and Jaques
are less flat in comparison to Rosalind. Celia and Rosalind both show indomitable tongues when
mocking Le Beau and confusing

the structure for the property manager to focus on the experiences of the customer. By using these

process to anticipate a customer s needs. The collection, analysis and distribution of information,

Essay On Haste And Immature In Romeo And Juliet
As a late father, author, experienced polymath, brilliant inventor and politician Benjamin Franklin
often informed people to take time for all things: great haste makes great waste. Being one of the
founding fathers of the United States, Franklin declared that haste will lead to missed opportunities
and chaos. He also indicated that you should take time to think of every outcome, that may include
thinking about other people s fate or just your own. The adults and the young adolescents in this
play are all at fault for the rivalry. In Shakespeare s play, Romeo and Juliet the majority of the
conflicts constructed have been by haste and immaturity created by the young adolescents and a
sufficient amount of adults. In their lifetime, plenty... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Juliet is willing to die for him regardless of the place or how they met; even though Juliet did not
get notified of his name until after the party. These are the leading factors of haste and
immaturity found in children and while there are many more prime examples of it, there are
also excessive amounts to do with adult haste and immaturity. Although parents or adults will
not admit it to the younger audience, they can be immature and hasty. There are no rules about
how to act and everyone makes mistakes, as it is natural to want to rush into things and do their
job accurately even if they do not have experience in that field. Juliet s father, Capulet is one of
the several victims of haste and immaturity. Regardless, he is very controlling, and he decides to
make Juliet s wedding as soon as possible, so he picks O Thursday let it be. O Thursday, tell her,
/ [Juliet] shall be married to this noble earl. (3:4:20 21). Paris proclaims as he realizes how soon
it is acknowledging that Thursday [is] tomorrow. (3:4:30). When Paris goes to see Friar Laurence,
the Friar questions the haste in this marriage and Paris explains that father Capulet will have it so
and it is not his place to change Capulet s mind (4:1:4). It is immature that Paris says that he could
not change Capulet s mind because he is the man getting married, and he also did not try to change

Homer indicates that this pronouncement provides little, if any, guidance to the practicing

Arguments Against Statutory Rape
Statutory Rape
Discussion
Statutory rape is not an easy term to define. It seems that the definition would be simple and
would include someone older having sex with someone younger than the legal age. That leads us
to what is the legal age? What difference in age is acceptable? Is it really the age of the person that
dictates whether or not an individual is capable of making rational decisions about having
intercourse? Are there special circumstances when using the term?
Mitchell Rogers (2003) stated that part of the struggle with the reporting of sexual abuse is
because of the confusion over the legal definitions of the acts and how to differentiate one from
another. This confusion may also be contributing to the reports of sexual abuse because not all
mandated reporters are clear on the definitions, but they know what is happening with the child is
not right. When this happens and the wrong term is used for the allegations, the investigation, in
part, could be dismissed because it doesn t fit that state s criteria for what was reported. Individual
states build their definitions of child sexual abuse from a minimal definition ... Show more content

Education Of Autistic And Related Communication...
Abstract
Autism is a developmental disorder that is having a great effect on our nation. Something must be
done to slow the rising instances of cases of autism. Treatments and interventions must be
implemented into a child with autisms life. Without these interventions the level of autism in a
child will increase (Francis, 2005). The Treatment and Education of Autistic and related
Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH) method and Early Intensive Behavior
Interventions (EIBI) method are two well known methods that help decrease the severity of Autism
Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a child (Francis, 2005). The two interventions differ in the age that
they are implemented (MacDonald, Parry Cruwys, Dupere, Ahearn, 2014). TEACCH ... Show more

The two most useful and known interventions are the TEACCH method of intervention, which
stands for the Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication Handicapped
Children (Francis, 2005). The other treatment method is the EIBI, Early Intensive Behavior
Interventions. Both of these methods are known for decreasing the effects but neither are foolproof
methods (MacDonald, Parry Cruwys, Dupere, Ahearn, 2014). Limiting the effects that Autism has
on the body and limiting the effects that Autism has on the individuals social life, are the main
focus for many doctors and therapists (Francis, 2005). The two methods differ drastically in the age
group that the focus on. This is where controversy is known to exist. The TEACCH method focuses
on the intervention of school age children, elementary through high school (Francis, 2005). The
EIBI method focuses on intervention in the toddler age (2 3) (Matson Konst, 2013). The two
interventions show major aid to decreasing the effects that ASD has on the body and has shown the
change the lives of children with autism throughout the world (Francis, 2005).
Methods
The TEACCH method is based on a Psychoeducational approach (Francis, 2005). The method is
focused on the culture of autism, how people think, learn, experience the world with ASD (Francis,
2005). The main

Holland Tunnel Essay
Holland Tunnel
It has taken engineers thousands of years to perfect the art of digging tunnels. Today tunnels
provide available space for cars and trains, water and sewage, even power and communication lines.
However, before cars and trains, tunnels carried only water. The first to use tunnels on a major scale
were the Romans. Roman engineers created the most extensive network of tunnels in the ancient
world. The Romans built aqueducts to carry water from mountain springs to cities and villages;
however, in many instances there were obstacles, such as rock formations, in between the spring
and the city of interest. To solve these problems the Romans built tunnels by carving underground
chambers and building elegant arch structures to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, there were drawbacks to a bridge crossing. A HudsonRiver bridge would require a
minimum clearance of 200 feet for ships to travel to and from the Hudson River ports. Since the
Manhattan side of the Hudson did not meet the 200 foot elevation requirement for a bridge, long
approaches would have to be built on the New York side. Because the land that was required for
these long approaches would require the purchase of very costly Manhattan real estate the bridge
idea was rejected in favor of a tunnel.
There are three basic steps to building a stable tunnel. The first step is excavation: engineers dig
through the earth with a reliable tool or technique. The second step is support: engineers must
support any unstable ground around them while they dig. The final step is lining: engineers add the
final touches, like the roadway and lights, when the tunnel is structurally sound.
Three main proposals were submitted for the Hudson river tunnel; The first proposal was a bi
level tunnel measuring 31 feet in diameter. The upper level, which was to carry slower vehicles,
was to have an 18ВЅ foot wide roadway and a clearance of 12 feet, flanked by sidewalks measuring
4ВЅ feet wide. The lower level, which was to be reserved for express vehicles, was to have a 16
foot wide roadway and a nine foot clearance. The second proposal which was presented by engineer
George Goethals, who would eventually become chief engineer of the Port Authority, and have the

The Health Belief Model Is Used For Health Promotion And...
The Health Belief Model is commonly used for health promotion and health education. Its
underlying concept is that health behavior is explained by perception of the disease and the
strategies available to lower its occurrence. There are four perceptions of the HBM, which are
perceived seriousness, perceived benefit, perceived susceptibility and perceived barriers. In
addition to that, more constructs are added to health belief model that includes motivating factor,
cues to action and self efficacy. Each of these constructs in combination or individually, could be
used to determine health behavior. The HBM also provides guidelines for the program
development allowing planners to address reasons for non compliance with recommended health
action. The health belief model is a process used to promote healthy behavior among individuals
who may be at risk of developing adverse health outcomes. A person must gauge their perceptions
of severity and susceptibility of developing a disease. Then it is essential to feel vulnerable by
these perceptions. Environmental factors can play a role as well as cues to action such as media,
and close friends. In order to determine that taking action will be meaningful, the benefits to change
must be weighed, against the barriers to change behavior (Green Murphy, 2014).

Unit 1.
Assessment Criteria 1.1.1.
Explain the sequence and rate of each aspect of development from birth 19 years.
At birth a baby relies on sight and touch for their intellectual development, they have limited
language, and all information is processed visually, as a baby grows they develop intellectually by
participating in imaginative play ie a box becomes a car or train or plane. They will also imitate
and explore new behaviours and forms of play, their confidence will grow as they near the age of 3
years old, but will still seek reassurance from their parents and carers.
Between the ages of 3 and 7 years old a child will still be processing information visually, along side
this their language skills and thought process will develop, which will have a huge effect on how
they think and interact with others.
As a child progress towards the age of 12 years old they will become less egocentric, and more
understanding of others feelings, thoughts, opinions, and beliefs, specific individual interests will
also develop at this time.
During the teenage years they will become responsible for their own thoughts, words and actions.
A capacity for higher order reasoning will develop, and individual personalities will appear and
form. They will be able to combine and classify items in a more sophisticated manner, and begin to
consider their futures. Support, guidance and help, on moral, ethical, social, economic and cultural
issues, at these stages of development, can have a huge

The United States Involvement
Since the early 1900s the United States has been embroiled in Iranian affairs, something that
would have great effects both in 1979 and now. The United States interest in Iran was originally
spurred by the discovery of oil, but due to the Cold War U.S. interest in Iran grew even more for
strategic reasons. To continue to exert their influence in Iran, the United States, through the CIA,

The Importance Of Sickle Cell Anemia
An abundance of traits are attributed to genetics: whether or not your earlobes are attached,
whether you are a left over right hand clasper or not, and the color of your irises are only a few.
Whether or not you inherit the genes that cause sickle cell anemia also known as sickle cell
disease and abbreviated SCD is of more importance than the color of your eyes.
Sickle cell anemia is a disease that deals with hemoglobin, the protein that aids in oxygen transport
from organ to organ, in red blood cells. Normally red blood cells have a biconcave shape that
attributes to a maximum capacity of hemoglobin, but in cases of sickle cell anemia, red blood
cells are structured, fragile, and crescent shaped, minimizing the capacity of hemoglobin, creating
an obstacle for them not to rupture, and making it difficult for them to travel through some blood
vessels. Because of the irregular shape of effected red blood cells, people with sickle cell anemia
are more prone to form blood clots causing organ damage.
Since the capacity of hemoglobin in a red blood cell is affected by sickle cell anemia, people with
the disease experience oxygen deprivation to organs and tissues throughout the body, causing both
immense pain and potentially death due to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the disease is autosomal (not sex linked), it can be inherited no matter the biological
gender of a child and it does not significantly affect one gender over the other. Interestingly,
though, women with Sickle Cell Anemia have been observed to live longer than men that have
the disease. If a child inherits the gene from one parent but not the other, they are said to be
carrying the sickle cell trait, but it is extremely rare that any symptoms are present in carriers.
Carriers of sickle cell anemia typically have a life expectancy the same as that of a person who is
not affected by the disease

Group Identity
The creation of a group identity means far more than placing a label on a number of people with
a universe for those who are members of the group and for non members who affirm and
recognize the group s existence. At the individual level identity is an answer to the question who
am I in relation to other people? At the social level it is a response to the question: Who are we
in relation to other human groups? (Mach 1993:4). Those who are in a group together are
identified as being closer to the self of one another while those outside the group are distanced
from the self and become other. In most cases, this self/other divide is minimal and the opposition
of us and them is little more than categories for us and not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Perhaps we can see the following five possibilities: (1) Narratives of national identity can be
approached by seeing them as a special case of the group defining story. (2) Group defining
stories can be highly patterned, having a distinctive genre and plot structure, with all group
members able to tell their group s story in much the same way. (3) Narratives of national identity
are a special case of the group defining story by virtue of their particular exteriority and constraint,
which is derivative from the police power of nations. (4) Just as group membership confers meaning
on individual lives, group defining stories have an effect on stories of the self that is, on the
individual autobiographies of group members. When members are strongly identified with a group,
member s autobiographies may be expressed with the same narrative form that the group story has.
(5) The patterns of group defining narratives, genres among them, are not found in stories alone, but
also become part of the cognitive equipment of the members. The way they function in cognition is
as interpretive frameworks that tell what meaning can be attached to events. In general, group
defining narratives facilitate interpretation, or allow particular events to be given a meaning, by
supplying a particular shared context within and with which they take on a determinate meaning.

Social Media and Sexual Objectification of Women
Today, we live in a world where women are sexually objectified almost everywhere we look.
Halloween used to be fun and all about candy and cute costumes when we were children, but as
time goes on, adult women can feel pressured to dress up as something sexy, like a sexy bunny, a
sexy doctor, or a sexy tree somehow. In the marketing world, we now see women portrayed as
body parts, only having their legs shown in ads to sell the latest designer shoe or their
inexplicably wet lips on a billboard to promote an upper lip wax. Even in television and in
movies, women are depicted as being very sexual by their actions, dialogue, and barely there
clothing. Because of an increase in social media, videos from YouTube are being rapidly shared
between friends and amongst those videos are their favorite music videos from a popular artist.
Music videos have become more and more sexually explicit and include the sexual
objectification of women like the rest of our media, no matter what the genre of music is. One
has to wonder whether or not this kind of exposure has an effect on men and their sexual beliefs.
First, lets explore what is shown in music videos today and how women and men are presented.
Music videos now show that women just don t ever say no to sex and don t have a preference in
men. They will take whoever, whenever. On the off chance they do resist, they give in rather
easily, adding to our rape culture and the belief that no really means yes . Women are also portrayed

Thesis: The Loch Ness Monster is real.
Introduction
Stories of the Loch Ness monster have been told for centuries. The earliest reported sighting was
in 500 a.d. by an Irish missionary named St. Columba. While in his adventures of spreading
Christianity, he saved a man from a monster by making the sign of the cross and ordering the beast
to leave. The Loch Ness Monster is not just from medieval mythology though, numerous people
have claimed they ve seen it too. Describing it as 30 feet in length with a long neck and flipper in
the middle of its body. The best evidence for Nessies would be the Dinsdale film, many sonar

Hypertension And High Blood Pressure
Hypertension
Hypertension is referred to as high blood pressure. Hypertension is frequently asymptomatic in the
early stages, and the initial signs are often vague and nonspecific. They include fatigue, malaise, and
sometimes morning headache. Consistently elevated blood pressure under various conditions is the
key sign of hypertension. Because of the insidious onset and mild signs, hypertension is often
undiagnosed until complications arise and has been called the silent killer. The complications are
also asymptomatic until they are well advanced.
Pathophysiology
Hypertension is one of the most common chronic health problems seen in the primary care setting.
Hypertension in adults age 18 and older is defined as a systolic blood pressure (SBP) of greater
than 1400 mm Hg and or a diastolic blood pressure (DBP) of greater than 90 mm Hg, based on the
average of two or more properly measured seated BP readings on each of two or more office visits.
The Seventh Report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and
Treatment of High Blood Pressure cites the following three categories for adults age 18 and older:
(1) prehypertension (SBP 120 to 139 mm Hg / DBP 80 to 89 mm Hg); (2) Stage 1 hypertension
(SBP 140 to 159 mm Hg / DBP 90 to 99 mm Hg); and (3) Stage 2 hypertension (SBP ≥ 160 mm
Hg / DBP ≥ 100 mm Hg) (Sisson, Rastegar, Rice, Prokopowicz, Hughes, 2010). In hypertension

The Scope Of Psychoanneuroimmunology
C)Psychoneuroimmunology:
Psychoneuroimmunology is an inter disciplinary science that combines the fields of Psychology,
Neurology and Immunology. Primarily, it studies the connection between mental processes and
physical health through the interaction between immune system and neural synapses. The approach
is to see human body as an inter connected, inter dependent system which operates in accord. The
range of Psychoneuroimmunology is simply exhaustive. The impact of human thoughts, emotions,
feelings, behaviour, and environment on the physical body varies from person to person;
depending upon an individual s biological history. This intensely dissolves the already dated mind
body distinction. The two are cohesive, and work as a single unit.It is interesting to note, this new

This was due to failure to properly protect sensitive card information of millions of customers cards

This incident saw the FTC identify several practices that could have possibly led to the breach.
These included failure to use strong passwords, failure to employ sufficient measure to restrict

  • 5. Federal Budget And The Budget It is no secret, the federal budget is in a major deficit. The federal government continues to borrow money to finance obligations that include Medicare, Social Security, military defense, federal salaries and other programs. The more the government borrows; the deeper the country sinks into debt (Krulick, 2015). As federal debt grows, the congress raises the allowable debt ceiling. The Congressional Budget Office estimated the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was $17.3 trillion in 2014 and that the federal budget deficitwas $506 billion ( Congressional Budget Office, ). I believe the sources I have used to research this date are credible. The Congressional Budget Office claims to be a nonpartisan agency which makes no recommendations on policy. The agency simply analyses budgets at the congressional level. Throughout my research, all sources reported similar information regarding the budget. It is possible the information related to the federal budget could be a skewed statistic or propaganda from one or another political party. I determined the data related to the federal budget to be supportive of the Republican Party. The Republican Party potentially may have constructed inaccurate information to help solicit votes for an upcoming election or general support of their political party. It would be in the Republican Party s favor to suggest a higher debt than the actual debt; for the reason that politicians may emphasize the costs of domestic welfare programs that liberals ... With males having more freedom to commit delinquent acts, there was doubt that the men were the majority of the population of prisons. As time passed and women began to embrace their liberations, more and more of them began working outside the home. This sudden rise of women in the workplace led to the shift in families. The number of egalitarian families in this nation began to increase, and with that women held more equal weight in household decisions with their husbands. A shift in the deviance of the children began to occur as well. Criminology theorists Matza and Sykes (1957) believe that anyone can be freed up to be delinquent and under this egalitarian household both boys and girls shared equal chances of doing just that, since there was starting to be a lack of supervision. It is her romance with Orlando that is the focus of the play, and the one held up as the ideal, and therefore the one that gets most of Shakespeare s attention as a playwright. Rosalind s gushing first meeting with Orlando, a stark contrast to her masterly handling of Le Beau just before, shows a more vulnerable Rosalind. Rosalind s playful fantasizing about Orlando after the wrestling match and after verses start appearing on trees shows a depth of infatuation not explored with the other characters, except Phoebe, though Phoebe is shown up to have a more stock kind of silly infatuation rather than Rosalind s more courtly lovesickness. Rosalind s momentary drops of her guise as Ganymede playing Rosalind, such as when she faints at seeing the bloody handkerchief, show that Rosalind is human, and these involuntary glimpses of the true lover forced out by sheer emotion place Rosalind on a higher level of love than the more ordinary, stereotypical posturing of Phoebe. It seems that the definition would be simple and would include someone older having sex with someone younger than the legal age. That leads us to what is the legal age? What difference in age is acceptable? Is it really the age of the person that dictates whether or not an individual is capable of making rational decisions about having intercourse? Are there special circumstances when using the term? Mitchell Rogers (2003) stated that part of the struggle with the reporting of sexual abuse is because of the confusion over the legal definitions of the acts and how to differentiate one from another. This confusion may also be contributing to the reports of sexual abuse because not all mandated reporters are clear on the definitions, but they know what is happening with the child is not right. • 22. Holland Tunnel Essay Holland Tunnel It has taken engineers thousands of years to perfect the art of digging tunnels. Today tunnels provide available space for cars and trains, water and sewage, even power and communication lines. However, before cars and trains, tunnels carried only water. The first to use tunnels on a major scale were the Romans. Roman engineers created the most extensive network of tunnels in the ancient world. The Romans built aqueducts to carry water from mountain springs to cities and villages; however, in many instances there were obstacles, such as rock formations, in between the spring and the city of interest. To solve these problems the Romans built tunnels by carving underground chambers and building elegant arch structures to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, there were drawbacks to a bridge crossing. A HudsonRiver bridge would require a minimum clearance of 200 feet for ships to travel to and from the Hudson River ports. Since the Manhattan side of the Hudson did not meet the 200 foot elevation requirement for a bridge, long approaches would have to be built on the New York side. Because the land that was required for these long approaches would require the purchase of very costly Manhattan real estate the bridge idea was rejected in favor of a tunnel. There are three basic steps to building a stable tunnel. The first step is excavation: engineers dig through the earth with a reliable tool or technique. The second step is support: engineers must support any unstable ground around them while they dig. The final step is lining: engineers add the final touches, like the roadway and lights, when the tunnel is structurally sound. Three main proposals were submitted for the Hudson river tunnel; The first proposal was a bi level tunnel measuring 31 feet in diameter. The upper level, which was to carry slower vehicles, was to have an 18ВЅ foot wide roadway and a clearance of 12 feet, flanked by sidewalks measuring 4ВЅ feet wide. The lower level, which was to be reserved for express vehicles, was to have a 16 foot wide roadway and a nine foot clearance. • 23. The Health Belief Model Is Used For Health Promotion And... The Health Belief Model is commonly used for health promotion and health education. Its underlying concept is that health behavior is explained by perception of the disease and the strategies available to lower its occurrence. There are four perceptions of the HBM, which are perceived seriousness, perceived benefit, perceived susceptibility and perceived barriers. In addition to that, more constructs are added to health belief model that includes motivating factor, cues to action and self efficacy. Each of these constructs in combination or individually, could be used to determine health behavior. The HBM also provides guidelines for the program development allowing planners to address reasons for non compliance with recommended health action. The health belief model is a process used to promote healthy behavior among individuals who may be at risk of developing adverse health outcomes. A person must gauge their perceptions of severity and susceptibility of developing a disease. Then it is essential to feel vulnerable by these perceptions. Environmental factors can play a role as well as cues to action such as media, and close friends. In order to determine that taking action will be meaningful, the benefits to change must be weighed, against the barriers to change behavior (Green Murphy, 2014). They will also imitate and explore new behaviours and forms of play, their confidence will grow as they near the age of 3 years old, but will still seek reassurance from their parents and carers. Between the ages of 3 and 7 years old a child will still be processing information visually, along side this their language skills and thought process will develop, which will have a huge effect on how they think and interact with others. As a child progress towards the age of 12 years old they will become less egocentric, and more understanding of others feelings, thoughts, opinions, and beliefs, specific individual interests will also develop at this time. During the teenage years they will become responsible for their own thoughts, words and actions. A capacity for higher order reasoning will develop, and individual personalities will appear and form. • 28. The Importance Of Sickle Cell Anemia An abundance of traits are attributed to genetics: whether or not your earlobes are attached, whether you are a left over right hand clasper or not, and the color of your irises are only a few. Whether or not you inherit the genes that cause sickle cell anemia also known as sickle cell disease and abbreviated SCD is of more importance than the color of your eyes. Sickle cell anemia is a disease that deals with hemoglobin, the protein that aids in oxygen transport from organ to organ, in red blood cells. Normally red blood cells have a biconcave shape that attributes to a maximum capacity of hemoglobin, but in cases of sickle cell anemia, red blood cells are structured, fragile, and crescent shaped, minimizing the capacity of hemoglobin, creating an obstacle for them not to rupture, and making it difficult for them to travel through some blood vessels. Because of the irregular shape of effected red blood cells, people with sickle cell anemia are more prone to form blood clots causing organ damage. Since the capacity of hemoglobin in a red blood cell is affected by sickle cell anemia, people with the disease experience oxygen deprivation to organs and tissues throughout the body, causing both immense pain and potentially death due to the ... (3) Narratives of national identity are a special case of the group defining story by virtue of their particular exteriority and constraint, which is derivative from the police power of nations. Because of the insidious onset and mild signs, hypertension is often undiagnosed until complications arise and has been called the silent killer.
