Immigration And Immigration Reform
Imagine that you are a senior in high school. You are nervous and excited to start the process of
getting a job and attending college. You obtain a couple of job applications and a Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to fill out. Naturally, as you fill out these forms you ask your
parents for your social security number, however, this is the moment you find out that you are
undocumented. Shocked and in disbelief, you can t help to see all your hopes and dreams go down
the drain. Nevertheless, like many other undocumented students, you discover there is still hope for
your situation. For instance, your research leads you to former President Barack Obama s Deferred
Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which protects minors who were brought to this
country illegally as children. Created through executive action in June of 2012, DACA gives young
undocumented immigrants: protection from deportation and a work permit. Subsequently, on
September 5th, 2017, the Trump administration rescinds the DACA policy, and approximately
800,000 young immigrants will become eligible for deportation at the end of six months. Therefore,
the only way to update our immigrationsystem is for Congress to pass immigration reform, which
offers a pathway to citizenship, plus, acknowledge that the 14th Amendment applies to homosexual
conduct and illegal aliens.
Comprehensive immigration reform would have significant economic benefits for DACA
recipients and American citizens. In

Statement Of Purpose For Engineering
Statement of Purpose
The thrust for knowledge increases with the acquisition of it. Thomas Carlyle.
I have always believed in the above adage which asks for more and more learning and I am
applying for graduate studies in order to quench my thirst for knowledge. The most important
reason for pursuing graduate studies is that it will raise me to a level of excellence where upon I
would have the ability to impart knowledge, convince and innovate in my field.
They conceive, they design, they analyze and they build. These always dawned upon me as the
most desirable characteristics of an engineer. I possessed these engineering traits since my
childhood. I used to break apart my toys to observe how they operate most of my toys comprised
of model cars and airplanes. I always wondered how humongous structures could be built or could
even lift off into the air and beyond. My respect for education and inclination towards applied
science drove me to opt for math, physics and chemistry in higher secondary education. Being an

The behaviourist perspective:
The behaviourist perspective is an idea that we can understand any type of behaviour by looking at
what the person has learner. This includes personality traits such as shyness, confidence, optimism
or pessimism. Behaviourist psychologists explain all human behaviour as resulting from
experience. Two key psychologists are Pavlov and Skinner, although these two theorists believed
that different processes were involved, they both explained all types of behaviour as being the
result of learning. This is everything from shyness to aggression and happiness to depression.

For example, if someone such as Bradley wiggins recommends that we should wear a cycle
helmet, we are much more likely to imitate this behaviour as we are closer to being like this
admired model. But, if someone we look down on recommends that we do the same, we are much
less likely to do so as we do not want to be perceived as the person we look down on. Certain
attributes of a person determine whether the behaviour is more likely to be imitated, these attributes
include; gender, similarity to ourselves, status, prestige, competence and fame.
Our behaviour is also influenced by the presence of other, no matter how much we believe
ourselves to be individuals.
Culture is the shared values, norms, language, customs and practices of a group. It also refers to
different sub groups within society. It is important to understand how culture affects our behaviour
in order to gain a full understanding of the people we encounter and those we work with. Watson
found that the average amount of eye contact made varied between countries, with high degrees of
eye contact being seen as insolent by some Africans and East Asians, whereas among Indians and
Latin Americans this was seen as desirable.
The self fulfilling prophecy is a concept in psychology that has an impact on the way we behave
towards others and expect them to behave towards us. If we believe ourselves to be worthwhile,

1914-1945 Women s Roles
Throughout 1914 to 1945, the role of women changed immensely. During the 20th century, the
role of women evolved, from the nurtures and home makers and was expected that their
objective in life was to get married, bare kids and devote their entire life to their husbands. But
during World War 2 with the fast, growing incline of need for soldiers proved that women had to
participate in jobs which were usually only consisted of men. After WW 2 with all the soldiers
returning from war, a lot of women were fired to re employ men and women were expected to go
back to the roles of a housewife. Before, during and after WW 2, the role of women changed
indefinitely and shaped today s society. Before World War 2, A women s role was patronizing and

ICT In Open And Distance Education
Abstract Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is playing a primordial role in Open
and Distance Learning (ODL) system to meet the expectations and requirements of the students to
receive and send information with respect to their academic pursuits. ICT in Open and Distance
Learning is like a beacon light that lights up the path of the students and allows them to navigate
through seamless ease with regard to their academic aspirations. It elevates the student centric
learningexperience to such a level that more often than not it not only provides clientele satisfaction
but also its delight. ICT, ever since it has been employed in Distance Education, has been providing
various technologies and tools to cater to the requirements of a learner at various stages of learning
cycle like admission stage, the learning stage, the evaluation stage and finally the certification stage
as a service. Now some open universities are providing academic services in the form of online
course material, interactive classes and online teaching and learning facilities to the student

The Pros And Cons Of Determinism
No human can survive without water due to the fact that without water, a person will die from
dehydration, but how do humans know we will die without water? Simple there have been several
incidences in the past of people dying from a lack of water. As a result, humans drink water so they
do not die. In the study of metaphysics, determinismis a view of freedom and moral responsibility
which explains that a person s actions are determined from previous events, and humans do not
have free will. A common phrase people use is you learn from your mistakes , which makes
perfect sense. A mistake was made in the past, and it is not made in the future given similar
circumstances. Aileen Wuornos is a real life example of somebody who had a horrifying past, and
as a result, acted violently. Aileen is an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Metaphysics also poses two more views on freedom and moral responsibility: libertarianism and
compatibilism. Libertarianism explains that previous events do not determine a person s actions,
and that all humans have free will. Compatibilism is a mix of libertarianism and determinism,
stating that humans are determined by previous events, but have free will. Ultimately, determinism
is the view that is the most logical because many people can relate to it due to their previous
experiences.
To begin, people who are not determinists will argue that people do have free will. A common
criticism for determinism involves the human consciousness: Consciousness is not a material thing,
even if it is dependent on the physical brain, and thus is not bound by the laws of physics. (Eric
Wayne). Due to the fact that an individual s thoughts cannot be observed with the five senses, then
the consciousness of every individual is different. To

Animal Welfare Vs Animal Rights
These alternatives, once studied enough to be credible, could change the face of animal testing.
Unfortunately according to the John Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing, scientists
say we simply do not yet understand the complexities of the human body well enough to be able
to design suitable non animal alternatives (Shany 85). This means millions of animals will be
killed in the years to come, but hopefully we take the time to find a safe alternative. Once an
alternative becomes available, we will be able to reduce the number of animals killed each year
during testing. Animal welfare vs. animal rightsis another big aspect of the animal testing
controversy. You may think that both groups are for the same thing, but they are

1. Harris told Houston that he needed a couple of weeks to think about his proposal. How should
Houston handle this?
Harris is using what is called a time objection also known as stalling technique. In this particular
case study Harris already has the need fulfilled by a different supplier and while they have had a
few late deliveries Harris need to determine if it worth going through all of the work to get set up
a new vendor. The time objection is often one of the hardest objections to gauge because it can
mean many different things. In certain cases changing product can be a major process and can be
very time consuming. With such a major change it is understandable that buyers want to take ...

After uncovering any further objections and gaining an understanding of where Harris sits,
Houston could begin to press and push for a sense of urgency. If Harris did not have any doubts
there would be no need for a two week period to think. Pushing can be a sensitive task because if
Houston pushes too hard he could destroy his relationship and his chance of doing business with
the buyer. If all else fails and the buyer insists on taking time to think Houston should establish a
firm follow up appointment as soon as possible.
3. What techniques should Houston have used to overcome the fore stalling tactic?
There are certain times in which it is impossible to prevent forestalling, but there are things a sales
person can do to try and prevent objections. Utilizing the LAARC method gives is a good step in
combating resistance and objections. The LAARC methods uses five steps to avoid objections
which are to listen, acknowledge, assess, respond and confirm. Listening is always the most
important part of sales. Buyer will often tell you exactly what they are looking for if you keep
you mouth shut and listen. Active listening shows respect as well as arms a sales person will
exactly what the buyer is looking for. Part of active listening is acknowledging what a buyer is
saying. If you acknowledge that it proves that not only are you listening but you are understanding.

Comparing The Oppression Of Women And A Metaphorical...
In comparing the oppression of women to a metaphorical birdcage, Marilyn Frye s essay
Oppression expands the definition of what constitutes as an oppressive act. In doing so, some
would argue that her definition allows for nearly every interaction between men and women to have
some underlying sexist tone. Others, including myself, would deny such a claim and argue that as
opposed to stretching the realms of sexism, Frye s interpretation contributes to a deeper
understanding of sexism in modern society. While it is true that Frye s metaphor could be over
applied and abused, in the long term, it is more beneficial than detrimental. Because the situation of
women in the western world has improved vastly in comparison to other societies,... Show more

It is my belief that the sexism in this act lied firmly in the way he chuckled, and shook his head
condescendingly at me. It was as though he were thinking to himself how cute it was that a little
woman like me to hold open the door for a strong, capable man such as himself. In laughing at
this simple, objectively polite act he confirmed the thought process behind this chivalrous act .
Men hold open the door for woman, not because it s necessarily polite, but because men
subconsciously believe women to be weak. Not only that, but consider the fact that rarely do
men hold open the door for men. This is no doubt because men consider other men to be capable
of handling themselves in all manners, especially in things as simple as holding open a door.
However, this is only one side of the argument, and without the opposing side the discussion is
limited. Others would argue that holding open a door is just that, nothing more or less. It is a
polite act instilled in many people, especially those living in the Southern areas of the United
States, where politeness is particularly emphasized. It could certainly be that is not the act that is
sexist but the individual reasons as to why one opens the door for another person. While one man
may do so because he believes a woman needs unnecessary help, another may do it because it is
not an out of the way gesture. One man may laugh at the act of a woman holding open the door for
him, while another

The Conch Shell In Lord Of The Flies
According to the merriam webster dictionary, the definition of symbolism; artistic imitation or
invention that is a method of revealing or suggesting immaterial, ideal, or otherwise intangible
truth or states. In the book the Lord of the flies, various things are used as symbols to show a
truth or some type of relationship. One of the biggest symbolic things in the book was the conch
shell. The conch shell was originally founded on a waves upwash during the very first stages of
the book. Just like items had a certain meaning, color had symbolic meanings as well. The color of
the shell was creamy white which symbolizes; purity, innocence, fairness, and honor. The conch
shell in Lord of the Flies begins as a symbolfor authority, later on it becomes disconnected
between the boys, and concludes as being ignored and basically destroyed. As the boys are
stranded on the deserted island, in order to survive they copy civilization just like back in
England. Authority such as rules and a head chief was much needed. In their quest of the
finding such similarities, they come across the conch shell creamy white by the ocean. The
group of boys take it as a symbol of authority inside the group. Ralph, the main character and the
boy who originally found the conch blew it to assemble the group of boys. Minutes go by and
Ralph is picked due to the fact that the conch is in his possession. The group of boys used

Product History:
Wool is a textile fiber obtained from sheep and certain different creatures that include Goats,

Wool is taken from the sheep a few times a year in New Zealand. Fleece has a few qualities that

Allegory Of The Cave Essay
Allegory of the cave is an allegory written by Plato while in Greece in the Classical age. It
describes the concept of reality and enlightenment through the point of view of prisoners in a
cave. The allegory describes how the prisoners have been chained their whole lives and can only
see shadows. It describes how one of the prisoners is freed and goes outside and realizes how
everything he knew was a lie. He becomes enlightened and returns to the cave only to be met with
ridicule and resistance from the other prisoners. In the ВЁAllegory of the CaveВЁ, the author
attempts to teach us how people reject change and detest it through the use of imagery, moral

unheard of. The free market will not allow famine to occur because if a country is producing
efficiently, it will be actively involved in trade with other countries or other regions. Take the
example of the two farmers above. These villages are able to trade freely and would develop
businesses that provide good and services to each other, as well as save and reinvest in their
villages. If such an act occurred in which village one was unable to produce wheat, the price of
wheat would increase to support the reduction in supply. The market would reach an equilibrium
in which the demand would meet supply at a certain price. This equilibrium will prevent a
shortage of wheat on the market. Wheat will become more valuable and the demand will go
down. Depending on what kind of demand exists outside of the wheat producing village, the
village may be able to get more corn or other services in exchange for its more valuable wheat.
However, if the government of the nation above has implemented a price ceiling policy on the
price of wheat in an effort to make wheat affordable to everyone, famine could strike. In this
instance, some occurrence would prevent village

Gender Roles In Mulan
We all grew up watching the Disney princesses on screen being rescued by her Prince Charming
or Knight in shining armor. However, not all Disney movies were about a princess being rescued.
There was one where she did the rescuing . Mulan came out on June 5, 1998. Mulan best shows a
character breaking out of the standard genderroles of society; therefore, Mulan shows that great
things happen when we step out of the gender roles society has created. Mulan is a movie that
takes place during 6th century China when the Mongolian Huns invaded China by crossing the
Great wall and started a war that lasted twelve years. The movie starts when the Hans first
attacking and crossing the Great Wall. The emperor is warned about the attack. He calls for one man
from each family to serve the army saying A single grain of rice can tip the scale. One man may
be the difference between victory and defeat. The movie then moves on to Mulan Getting ready
to meet the Matchmaker. This part of the movie shows that females were to prepare their whole
lives learning to be posed, graceful, not speak unless spoken and other ways to act, until they meet
the matchmaker. The matchmaker would determine if and who they would marry. Since Mulan
was the Hau families only daughter the only way to bring honor to their family would be too
marry a high ranked person. However, Mulan right away starts to break out of society s gender role.
During her meeting with the matchmaker, she fails miserably. First she

The European Union ( Eu ) And The Association Of Southeast...
EU ASEAN Dialogue relations
Executive Summary
The European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as two of the
most important regional organizations, have been interacting with each other on the economic,
political and cultural levels for more than four decades. In the 21st century, Asia has become the
most dynamic region in the global economy today. What is more, its regional security and stability
has grabbed increasing global attention as well.
From the EU perspective, after the financial crisis, economy in Europe has not fully recovered
yet. For EU, cooperating with Asia in economic sector is even more important since the latter has
world s largest population that buys almost a quarter of EU exports. Besides, EU has a strategic
interest in regional security in Asia. For example, the EU s interests would be hurt by tensions on
the Korea Peninsula or across the Taiwan Straits. Thirdly, nowadays, the US and Russia even other
emerging powers have further deepened their economic and political relationship with South East
Asia. Under this circumstances, the EU should speed up its pace strengthen its political and
economic presence across the region through comprehensive cooperation lest it would be
marginalized by both Asia and the US in the near future.
But in Asia, who is the most important partner of the EU? Except for China and Japan, ASEANis
playing an increasingly important role in regional geopolitics and is proving to be a force for

Robert Peary Research Paper
On April 6, 1909, Robert Peary planted an American flag on the top of the world. Peary had
wanted to travel north since his youth. He had tried the journey years before but had to retreat.
This time, he believed he had reached the North Pole. Or had he? How would he know?
2As a Smithsonian historian explains, it can be difficult to know when you have reached the North
Pole because it lies on drifting sea ice . . . there is no way to mark the spot, because the ice is
constantly moving. Years ago, when Peary traveled, it was difficult to confirm exact measurements.
Peary marked his position by noting shadows made by the sun. Peary was the only person who
knew how to navigate on the journey. No one could check his measurements.

Trolley Car Problem
The Trolley Car Problem demonstrates the difficulty of using utilitarian ideal as the basis for
ethical action, but in many real world situations, innocent people must be sometimes be sacrificed
for the sake of saving other lives. If you flip the switch you are saving 5 people, rather than not
doing anything and saving only one. Furthermore, all people in this situation are innocent. If you
are to flip the switch only one innocent person would die rather than five innocent people. This
means that you will be killing innocent people either way, so the least casualties possible would
be the best outcome. In addition to my last point, all outcomes of the Trolley Car Problem Result
in deaths. This means that if you flip the switch or not, both actions will have consequences.
However, the choice to flip the switch, only causing one casualty, has lesser consequences. A
utilitarian ideal is the most logical outcome of the Trolley Car Problem.... Show more content on

The Branch Davidian Compound Raid
The Branch Davidian Compound Raid: Waco, TX 1993
On the morning of April 19, 1993, heavily armed FBI and ATF agents moved into the compound
puncturing holes in the compound walls so they could pump in tear gas, to flush out the cult
members with the least harm. Using loudspeakers, officers told the Branch Davidians no armed
assault would be made and to hold their fire. When cult members opened their weapons, the FBI
increased the tear gas assault and began firing military grenade launches at the building. At
around noon, three fires broke out in different parts of the compound, allegedly set by the
Branch Davidians. The fire spread, trapping cult members, while others refused to leave,
eventually perishing in the smoke and the blaze (Final 24). In all, only nine people escaped. The
remaining 76 cult members, including 17 children, were buried alive by rubble, suffocated by the
effects of the fire, or shot/stabbed. Although many people followed this 51 day siege, if someone
was to look at the news and see this giant compound on fire with children burning they might
wonder, how did this happen? Why was it being aired live? Who shot first? Can you believe this
whole incident happened just to serve a search warrant?

Mental Health Couseling Programs
Mental health counseling programs are designed to prepare individuals/students to help clients
with conflicts, personal problems, or emotional predicaments. Mental Health counseling has
become a wide area of study that is highly recommended to those who are unbalanced and in need
of support. Effective clinical mental health counselors acknowledge the differences amongst
people and seek to improve their ability to work with diverse people (Gladding el at., 2010). This
is very important, especially for counselors to be culturally diverse and to develop multicultural
counseling competencies to be effective. The License Professional Counselor role is to provide an
environment of self examination by assisting clients with therapy and therapeutic alliance to
support the process of healing. They analyze problems from different angles to provide solutions,
by using method to set the stage for change. They must provide a non judgmental environment so
that the client feel respected, and of value to openly discuss life events, behaviors, feeling, and
thoughts. The Professional Counselor s role is to create this climate for the clients to examine their
emotions to arrive at solutions that is best for the clients. The professional s assignment is to assist
the individuals in finding solutions that are most corresponding with their own values, not to
persuade the clients by imposing their values on the client. According to Gladding and Newsome

Literary Analysis Of Woman In A Purple Coat
For this analysis, I will be using Woman In A Purple Coat by Henri Matisse (1937), oil on
canvas. 1937 was a turbulent year globally. From the Hindenburg blimp exploding, to the
Japanese invasion of China, and the disappearance of Amelia Earhart. Many events happened
that year that would forever alter the course of history. Henri Matisse, an eclectic soul, would
make his mark upon 1937 as well with Woman In A Purple Coat. This piece would cause all who
came before and after him to rethink how they would make their legacy, as Matisse moved the bar
to previously unobtainable heights through this work. The first thing you notice in Matisse s
painting is the purple coat that Lydia Delectorskaya, his lover of many years, is wearing. This coat,
an exotic Moroccan costume, with its bold and vivid color, jumps right out at its viewers. While
Lydia reclines for her pose, the vase of flowers and fruit on the table in the foreground become
apparent to the audience. As do the bold shapes and patterns that are on the walls, with their
incredibly bright colors, outlined with thick lines. The lines Matisse used creates a certain
symmetry within the frame. His perspective lines give order and dimension to an otherwise
visually busy art work. Henri used bold, thick lines to create definition, even using the back end
of the brush to scrape away paint to leave exposed canvas to create his effects. Matisse was a
pioneer within his profession. He was often criticized for his lack of

Greek Idealism In Greek Culture
Imagine a perfect world where everyone in the nation spoke the same language, shared a
common worldview and was culturally united. This would be the Ideal world that the Greeks
strove for and succeeded in. Greek idealism is not how the world really is, but rather, a perfect ideal
world, which was the answer to their success. The ideas of the Greekswere created from their mind
as opposed to external reality composed of other outside forces. Throughout the paper, I will
highlight specific examples of idealism in the Greek culture, by focusing on their philosophy, art
and literature. The awakening of philosophical thought in Greece started in 600 B.C. (Messner
10 2 17). The mind and the spirit were viewed as the two most powerful factors of someone. With
the mind and the spirit, the possibilities were endless. With these assets, they were able to portray
their love of wisdom. Philosophy is the ponder of the everyday life and what is happening in the
world (Messner 10 2 17). The idealists of the philosophical world reasoned that the physical
world is illusory and that behind it lies a realm accessible only by contemplation (Humanities,
67). A specific example of philosophy, is Plato s take on the Western ideal philosophy. In his
philosophy he emphasizes the importance of values and ideas, over matter (Humanities, 69). In
Plato s eye, education and knowledge are very important (Messner, 10 6 17). This is important
because it helps us understand for ourselves the real world

Sustainable Development Today Essay
Sustainable Development Today
Sustainable Development
The concept of sustainable development has become a major topic among intellectuals from
various fields. Sustainable development has gone through various changes in its definitions and at
present does not have a commonly accepted definition. The origination of the concept of sustainable
development is debatable. In 1974 at a conference on Science and Technology for Human
Development by the World Council of Churches the concept of a sustainable society is believed to
have been first noted. This early concept focused on equitable distribution of scarce resources and
the need for democratic decision making. In 1980 the currently used term of sustainable

The health of the earth degrades with the destructive activity of human beings. A recent study by
a group of scientists looked at twenty four different services that the earth s ecosystems provide
for humans, ecosystem services, and found that fifteen of them are in need of desperate help
(Gazette 31 March 2005). These services are vital to the survival of both human and nonhuman
life and include filtering water and providing nutrient rich soils and ocean waters. Many of the
members of these various ecosystems are also decreasing in numbers. In a British survey of bird
populations found that in the 200 birds of Britain tracked there was about a 54% population
decrease between the 1968 1971 tacking period and the 1988 1991 tacking period. In two other
surveys of 254 native plant species from the same area there was a decrease of about 28% during
the past 40 years. Humans are pushing the sixth mass extinction (Gazette March 19, 2004).
Many people believe that the Sustainable Revolution began with concern for the environment. The
way we portray our relation to the natural world has changed since the times of Thoreau and

inability to concentrate. This life without books has encouraged people to live for moment so to

The Conflict Of Ethnic Civil War
In the following I will assess the methodologies both studies employ and the way they proceed with
the differing datasets as this forms another part of the reason why they reach different conclusions.
In his analysis Kaufmann finds that eight ethnic civil wars have been resolved by negotiated
agreements other than partition. This would ultimately speak against his finding that no ethnic civil
war has ever been resolved by a power sharing agreement. However, he contends that all these eight
cases have in fact depended on grants of full or partial autonomy to a regionally concentrated ethnic
group and were therefore based on physical separation rather than shared power. For this assertion
however, he does not try to find any proof and thus, it is hard to follow Kaufmann s argument in
this matter. In contrast to that, Mason Fett view such cases as negotiated settlements. This indicates
the fundamental theoretical disagreement between the two studies whether negotiated settlements
must be based on granting autonomy to geographically concentrated ethnic minorities. Whereas
Kaufmann definitely accepts this as being true, Mason Fett are not quite as certain. They say that
negotiated settlements can take the form of federal or consociational arrangements... (Mason Fett,
1996:554) and thereby acknowledging that partition and regional autonomy does not have to be the
ultimate solution.
This disagreement is quite interesting and simultaneously controversial. However even though

John Bowlby s Influence On Children s Development
John Bowlby s work in attachment has been the foundation when determining the attcahments and
bonds that a child and parent may experience (Webb, 2011). According to Bowlby, attachment is
referring to a lasting, mutual bond of affection that is dependent on an individual or more than one
person (Webb, 2011). Establishing a secure attachment during infancy and early childhood is an
important task of a parent or a caregiver. Not all parents or caregivers can provide their child with
a secure attachment at this important in life due to various reasons. Since parents are the main
providers in their child s development of attachment, their lives and history has a great influence on
their children s lives. One psychosocial factor is the family s socioeconomic status. Socioeconomic
statuses has been researched to be on of the most influential factors in rather or not a family will
succeed or face challenges, it can be a determinant in the development of mental health, physical
health, and emotional health. A parent s educational level, their occupation, and income could place
the family in either a beneficial or hindering situation, in return, affecting the way a parent could
establish attachment with their child. For example, a single parent raising their child and having to
manage two jobs, could result in limited attachment to their parent or primary caregiver. Parental
stress and their adverse childhood experiences is another psychosocial factor which can determine a

Making Yeast Doughs
There are four basic ingredients used in making yeast doughs flour, water, yeast and salt. Lean
doughs contain these four, with or without addition of little sugar or fat. So how come there are
so many kinds of different breads: crunchy baguette, chewy bagel, soft rolls...? Proper
manipulation of these same ingredients can result with large variety of breads. If you add some
more fat, sugar and eggs to this mixture, you will make enriched yeast dough. Making Yeast
Doughs There are nine basic steps in making yeast dough: 1.Scaling the Ingredients It is important
to measure ingredients accurately and it is preferable to have them at the proper temperature. All
ingredients combined and well kneaded should reach 25ВєC. The amount of flour may vary
depending on the humidity level and the amount of protein in the flour. Flour with more protein
will absorb more water. 2.Mixing and Kneading the Dough The yeast dough must be kneaded
properly so the ingredients are combined uniformly and the gluten is developed. There are several
methods of mixing the yeast dough. Straight Dough Method is the simplest and the most common
method of mixing yeast dough. Yeast is firs dissolved in water, and then it is added to flour and
salt mixture. After that dough id kneaded until smooth and elastic. Sponge Method has two stages.
First yeast, liquid and half of flour is mixed to make a thick batter sponge (Fr. poolisch). The
sponge is then left to rise until doubled in size. After that

The Symbols Of Kwanzaa And African-American Culture
Kwanzaa History
Kwanzaa, a seven day holiday that celebrates African American heritage. Dr. Maulana Karenga
created Kwanzaa to help African Americans remember their roots and to foster unity during a
time of incredible racial strife. It s been observed from December 26 to January 1 every year since
1966. Karenga, a controversial figure in the black power movement, openly opposed Christian
beliefs and originally declared that Kwanzaa should be an anti Christmas of sorts. The name
Kwanzaa is derived from matunda ya kwanza, a Swahili phrase for first fruits, is based on
traditional African harvest festivals, combining customs from several different cultures. Each
of the seven days represents one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa, or nguzo saba. There are
also seven symbols of Kwanzaa, which celebrants display prominently in their homes throughout
the holiday. The colors of Kwanzaa are red, black and green the colors of the Pan African flag,
which symbolizes unity among African people all over the world. Black represents the people,
red their blood and green the earth and the future. Kwanzaa is, of course, a festive time; it has all
the feasting and celebrating you d expect from a weeklong holiday, but it s also an occasion for
reflection, conversation, contemplation and camaraderie. And although it s a relatively young
holiday, it has its fair share of very specific, detailed traditions. (Cooper, A. (2011, July 25).

Comparing Two Approaches to Cognitive Psychology
Cognitive psychology is concerned with the internal processes involved in making sense of the
environment and deciding what action may be appropriate. These processes include attention,
perception, learning and reasoning, (Eysenck and Keane, 2010).There are a number of approaches
which can be used within this field, however for the purposes of the essay only two will be
compared; cognitive neuroscienceand neuropsychology. The aims of cognitive neuroscientists are
often similar to those of cognitive psychologists; they are both interested in the brain and cognition,
(Medin and Ross, 1996). Nevertheless, it could be argued that there are also some fundamental
differences between the two approaches, especially in the research methods... Show more content on

In contrast, a technique favoured by cognitive neuropsychologists is neurological case studies.
These are reports on individuals who have suffered damage to the nervous system. Researchers can
observe the behaviour of participants and interpret how this has been affected by their brain injury.
However, the conclusions that can be taken from such studies are also limited, especially when they
involve a single subject, (Payne and Wenger, 1982).
These procedures involved in cognitive neuroscience require high levels of control, therefore are
usually conducted in a laboratory setting, thus producing quantitative data that can be easily
analysed, (Eysenck and Keane, 2010). Nevertheless, the techniques vary in the precision with which
they identify the brain areas active when a task is performed (spatial resolution), and the time
course of such activation (temporal resolution). Therefore, several procedures often need to be
combined to compensate for limitations, (Sternberg and Wagner, 1999).
Despite the fact that cognitive neuropsychology can be less scientific in areas, it also deals with

Self Identity In The Gospel Of Jew
The Gospel of Matthew, at least in its final form, is dated in the 80s AD and was possibly written
in Treasures New and Old (9: The Good News of Jesus) 2015 Syria. It gives us insights into the
painful transition from Judaism to early Christianity, including a growing number of Gentiles.
Matthew s community faces the problem of self identity Who are we? Where do we belong?
Jewish Christians discussed among themselves what it means to follow Jesus, the Christ, and yet
remain Jewish. Could these two things be reconciled? Evidence of this dilemma occurs in those
texts that describe the arguments that Jesus had with members of the Pharisaic group. The
Pharisees were a reforming group within Judaism. They were sincere and genuinely concerned

Research Paper On Health Insurance
Can everyone in the United States have a Health insurance? That is the big question. As we
know it s impossible to get treated in the hospital without health insurance because it s very
expensive. Let me talk about my story, when I have arrived to the United States at Arizona,
Tempe specifically, I got very ill because I have Asthma so I couldn t breath properly, so my
friend took me to St Luke Hospital in Tempe, the doctor gave me Oxygen mask only nothing
more. Then when I got better it s time to checkout so they gave me the bill and it was 2500 $, I
was choked with the price but I have realized that my insurance company will take care of it.
In fact, nearly 40 million Americans does not have health insurance, most of them can t afford the
price of the health insurance. This issue is leading to many deaths in the United States due to not
having a health care. So the question is, why poor people can not afford a health insurance? or
in other way, why it s very expensive to have a health insurance? The answer for the first
question is very simple, some people were born poor and they do not have jobs, and if some of
them have jobs they don t offer them a health insurance and their income is very low so they can t
buy their own health care. The answer for the second question is kind of complicated. Health
insurances are expensive because the government does not have censorship ... Show more content

Lamb And Tyger Archetypes Essay
Lambs and Tigers; Which are you?
(An analysis of the archetypes in Blake s Lamb and Tyger )
Tigers, they re fierce, independent, destructive, powerful, experienced and cunning. Lambs are
the polar opposite, considered gentle, pleasant, and innocent creatures. William Blake discusses
both these archetypes in his poems Lamb and Tyger . The poems are a discussion on the
archetype of each animal; when paired together they suggest our own society can be divided into
these two groups of people. The archetypes of Lamb and Tyger vividly contrast each other in way
that allows us to categorize ourselves into one of three groups. In the first of Blake s poems he
discusses the archetype of a lamb, the innocent and gentle of the world. At one point in Lamb it
characterizes the lamb to have, Softest clothing wooly bright, alluding to the pure and innocent
nature of the lamb. Lambs with, such a tender voice, that, make all the vales rejoice. These are the
people of the world that don t have a mean bone in their body. The lambs are kind and
compassionate people that still retain some of that child like innocence. Blake would think of them
as the light in the world, pure and pleasing to others. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tigers in the wild are at the top of the food chain. They are hardened, brutal, and seasoned
creatures. Blake depicts them as having, fearful symmetry, and the one who created a tiger to
have, Burnt the fire of thine eyes. Tigers could be compared to something as simple as a school
bully or even up to a ruthless dictator. Those who classify as a tiger are leaders and know how to
get what they want. Often using or abusing lambs in the process. This polarizing of people into the
opposite spectrum from a lamb doesn t always seem like a good fit though. The question is if you
have to fall under one category or the

The Importance Of Web Application
A single page application (SPA) as name suggest is a web application which will fit in a single
web page and acts as a source for rest of the application. Various end user interactions are possible
via HTML, CSS, JavaScript. For most of the part, development happens on the front end in
comparison to traditional web applications which depend heavily on server side interactions to
reload new web pagecontent. SPA just keeps all the data and the associated business logic in the
front end i.e. it works with local storage of browser. Server side interactions are somewhat limited.
These interactions are performed for requesting any information via API s present in server side of

d.DELETE
DELETE method deletes a resource from server identified by Request URI. 2. DOM
The Document Object Model (DOM) is an interface between HTML and XML documents. It

Postman s Analysis of Brave New World
Postman s Analysis of Brave New World
As analyzed by social critic Neil Postman, Huxley s vision of the future, portrayed in the novel
Brave New World, holds far more relevance to present day society than that of Orwell s classic
1984. Huxley s vision was simple: it was a vision of a trivial society, drowned in a sea of pleasure
and ignorant of knowledge and pain, slightly resembling the world of today. In society today,
knowledge is no longer appreciated as it has been in past cultures, in turn causing a deficiency in
intelligence and will to learn. Also, as envisioned by Huxley, mind altering substances are becoming
of greater availability ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reoccurring Themes Of Evil In The Fellowship Of The Ring
The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines evil as morally reprehensible and causes harm . Some
will debate that evil is an inherited trait, while others will argue that evil is acquired over time.
Throughout J.R.R. Tolkien s first part of The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring , there
are reoccurring themes of evil and corruption, most of which surround the One Ring, and can vary
depending on who possesses the Ring. While both natural evilness and developed evilness are
demonstrated, The Fellowship of the Ringsuggests that evil is not inherited, but acquired over time.
Evil is prominent throughout The Fellowship of the Ring . Shortly after Boromir suggests that they
use the Ring against Sauron, Elrond responds saying that the Ring, is altogether evil (267). The
Ring was crafted with the sole purpose of evil. This is seen in the inscription on the Ring which
says, One ring to bring them all and in the darkness to bind them (50). This script shows that the
ring was created to draw other to darkness , which is often used to symbolize evil. While the
Ring itself is evil, it is the only truly evil thing in Middle Earth: For noting was evil in the
beginning. Even Sauron was not so. (267). Throughout The Fellowship of the Ring , there is a
close correlation between the one ring and evil, as Elrond says, The very desire of it corrupts the
heart (267). When Gandalf the Grey suggests that Bilbo leaves the ring behind before he goes on
his journey, Bilbo

You obtain a couple of job applications and a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to fill out. Naturally, as you fill out these forms you ask your parents for your social security number, however, this is the moment you find out that you are undocumented. Shocked and in disbelief, you can t help to see all your hopes and dreams go down the drain. Nevertheless, like many other undocumented students, you discover there is still hope for your situation. For instance, your research leads you to former President Barack Obama s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which protects minors who were brought to this country illegally as children. Created through executive action in June of 2012, DACA gives young undocumented immigrants: protection from deportation and a work permit. Subsequently, on September 5th, 2017, the Trump administration rescinds the DACA policy, and approximately 800,000 young immigrants will become eligible for deportation at the end of six months. Therefore, the only way to update our immigrationsystem is for Congress to pass immigration reform, which offers a pathway to citizenship, plus, acknowledge that the 14th Amendment applies to homosexual conduct and illegal aliens. Ultimately, determinism is the view that is the most logical because many people can relate to it due to their previous experiences. To begin, people who are not determinists will argue that people do have free will. A common criticism for determinism involves the human consciousness: Consciousness is not a material thing, even if it is dependent on the physical brain, and thus is not bound by the laws of physics. In comparing the oppression of women to a metaphorical birdcage, Marilyn Frye s essay Oppression expands the definition of what constitutes as an oppressive act. In doing so, some would argue that her definition allows for nearly every interaction between men and women to have some underlying sexist tone. Others, including myself, would deny such a claim and argue that as opposed to stretching the realms of sexism, Frye s interpretation contributes to a deeper understanding of sexism in modern society. While it is true that Frye s metaphor could be over applied and abused, in the long term, it is more beneficial than detrimental. It was as though he were thinking to himself how cute it was that a little woman like me to hold open the door for a strong, capable man such as himself. In laughing at this simple, objectively polite act he confirmed the thought process behind this chivalrous act . Men hold open the door for woman, not because it s necessarily polite, but because men subconsciously believe women to be weak. Not only that, but consider the fact that rarely do men hold open the door for men. This is no doubt because men consider other men to be capable of handling themselves in all manners, especially in things as simple as holding open a door. However, this is only one side of the argument, and without the opposing side the discussion is limited. Others would argue that holding open a door is just that, nothing more or less. It is a polite act instilled in many people, especially those living in the Southern areas of the United States, where politeness is particularly emphasized. It could certainly be that is not the act that is sexist but the individual reasons as to why one opens the door for another person. Famine in developed countries is absolutely unheard of. The free market will not allow famine to occur because if a country is producing efficiently, it will be actively involved in trade with other countries or other regions. Take the example of the two farmers above. These villages are able to trade freely and would develop businesses that provide good and services to each other, as well as save and reinvest in their villages. If such an act occurred in which village one was unable to produce wheat, the price of wheat would increase to support the reduction in supply. The market would reach an equilibrium in which the demand would meet supply at a certain price. This equilibrium will prevent a shortage of wheat on the market. EU ASEAN Dialogue relations Executive Summary The European Union (EU) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as two of the most important regional organizations, have been interacting with each other on the economic, political and cultural levels for more than four decades. In the 21st century, Asia has become the most dynamic region in the global economy today. What is more, its regional security and stability has grabbed increasing global attention as well. From the EU perspective, after the financial crisis, economy in Europe has not fully recovered yet. For EU, cooperating with Asia in economic sector is even more important since the latter has world s largest population that buys almost a quarter of EU exports. Besides, EU has a strategic interest in regional security in Asia. For example, the EU s interests would be hurt by tensions on the Korea Peninsula or across the Taiwan Straits. Thirdly, nowadays, the US and Russia even other emerging powers have further deepened their economic and political relationship with South East Asia. Under this circumstances, the EU should speed up its pace strengthen its political and economic presence across the region through comprehensive cooperation lest it would be marginalized by both Asia and the US in the near future. How would he know? 2As a Smithsonian historian explains, it can be difficult to know when you have reached the North Pole because it lies on drifting sea ice . . . there is no way to mark the spot, because the ice is constantly moving. Trolley Car Problem The Trolley Car Problem demonstrates the difficulty of using utilitarian ideal as the basis for ethical action, but in many real world situations, innocent people must be sometimes be sacrificed for the sake of saving other lives. If you flip the switch you are saving 5 people, rather than not doing anything and saving only one. Furthermore, all people in this situation are innocent. If you are to flip the switch only one innocent person would die rather than five innocent people. This means that you will be killing innocent people either way, so the least casualties possible would be the best outcome. In addition to my last point, all outcomes of the Trolley Car Problem Result in deaths. This means that if you flip the switch or not, both actions will have consequences. However, the choice to flip the switch, only causing one casualty, has lesser consequences. A utilitarian ideal is the most logical outcome of the Trolley Car Problem.... The Branch Davidian Compound Raid The Branch Davidian Compound Raid: Waco, TX 1993 On the morning of April 19, 1993, heavily armed FBI and ATF agents moved into the compound puncturing holes in the compound walls so they could pump in tear gas, to flush out the cult members with the least harm. Using loudspeakers, officers told the Branch Davidians no armed assault would be made and to hold their fire. When cult members opened their weapons, the FBI increased the tear gas assault and began firing military grenade launches at the building. At around noon, three fires broke out in different parts of the compound, allegedly set by the Branch Davidians. The fire spread, trapping cult members, while others refused to leave, eventually perishing in the smoke and the blaze (Final 24). In all, only nine people escaped. The remaining 76 cult members, including 17 children, were buried alive by rubble, suffocated by the effects of the fire, or shot/stabbed. Although many people followed this 51 day siege, if someone was to look at the news and see this giant compound on fire with children burning they might wonder, how did this happen? • 29. Literary Analysis Of Woman In A Purple Coat For this analysis, I will be using Woman In A Purple Coat by Henri Matisse (1937), oil on canvas. 1937 was a turbulent year globally. From the Hindenburg blimp exploding, to the Japanese invasion of China, and the disappearance of Amelia Earhart. Many events happened that year that would forever alter the course of history. Henri Matisse, an eclectic soul, would make his mark upon 1937 as well with Woman In A Purple Coat. This piece would cause all who came before and after him to rethink how they would make their legacy, as Matisse moved the bar to previously unobtainable heights through this work. The first thing you notice in Matisse s painting is the purple coat that Lydia Delectorskaya, his lover of many years, is wearing. This coat, an exotic Moroccan costume, with its bold and vivid color, jumps right out at its viewers. While Lydia reclines for her pose, the vase of flowers and fruit on the table in the foreground become apparent to the audience. As do the bold shapes and patterns that are on the walls, with their incredibly bright colors, outlined with thick lines. The lines Matisse used creates a certain symmetry within the frame. His perspective lines give order and dimension to an otherwise visually busy art work. Henri used bold, thick lines to create definition, even using the back end of the brush to scrape away paint to leave exposed canvas to create his effects. Matisse was a pioneer within his profession. He was often criticized for his lack of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This would be the Ideal world that the Greeks strove for and succeeded in. Greek idealism is not how the world really is, but rather, a perfect ideal world, which was the answer to their success. The ideas of the Greekswere created from their mind as opposed to external reality composed of other outside forces. Throughout the paper, I will highlight specific examples of idealism in the Greek culture, by focusing on their philosophy, art and literature. The awakening of philosophical thought in Greece started in 600 B.C. (Messner 10 2 17). The mind and the spirit were viewed as the two most powerful factors of someone. With the mind and the spirit, the possibilities were endless. With these assets, they were able to portray their love of wisdom. Philosophy is the ponder of the everyday life and what is happening in the world (Messner 10 2 17). The idealists of the philosophical world reasoned that the physical world is illusory and that behind it lies a realm accessible only by contemplation (Humanities, 67). A specific example of philosophy, is Plato s take on the Western ideal philosophy. In his philosophy he emphasizes the importance of values and ideas, over matter (Humanities, 69). In Plato s eye, education and knowledge are very important (Messner, 10 6 17). This is important because it helps us understand for ourselves the real world ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A recent study by a group of scientists looked at twenty four different services that the earth s ecosystems provide for humans, ecosystem services, and found that fifteen of them are in need of desperate help (Gazette 31 March 2005). These services are vital to the survival of both human and nonhuman life and include filtering water and providing nutrient rich soils and ocean waters. • 35. The Conflict Of Ethnic Civil War In the following I will assess the methodologies both studies employ and the way they proceed with the differing datasets as this forms another part of the reason why they reach different conclusions. In his analysis Kaufmann finds that eight ethnic civil wars have been resolved by negotiated agreements other than partition. This would ultimately speak against his finding that no ethnic civil war has ever been resolved by a power sharing agreement. However, he contends that all these eight cases have in fact depended on grants of full or partial autonomy to a regionally concentrated ethnic group and were therefore based on physical separation rather than shared power. For this assertion however, he does not try to find any proof and thus, it is hard to follow Kaufmann s argument in this matter. In contrast to that, Mason Fett view such cases as negotiated settlements. This indicates the fundamental theoretical disagreement between the two studies whether negotiated settlements must be based on granting autonomy to geographically concentrated ethnic minorities. Whereas Kaufmann definitely accepts this as being true, Mason Fett are not quite as certain. They say that negotiated settlements can take the form of federal or consociational arrangements... (Mason Fett, 1996:554) and thereby acknowledging that partition and regional autonomy does not have to be the ultimate solution. Establishing a secure attachment during infancy and early childhood is an important task of a parent or a caregiver. So how come there are so many kinds of different breads: crunchy baguette, chewy bagel, soft rolls...? Proper manipulation of these same ingredients can result with large variety of breads. If you add some more fat, sugar and eggs to this mixture, you will make enriched yeast dough. Making Yeast Doughs There are nine basic steps in making yeast dough: 1.Scaling the Ingredients It is important to measure ingredients accurately and it is preferable to have them at the proper temperature. Dr. Maulana Karenga created Kwanzaa to help African Americans remember their roots and to foster unity during a time of incredible racial strife. It s been observed from December 26 to January 1 every year since 1966. Karenga, a controversial figure in the black power movement, openly opposed Christian beliefs and originally declared that Kwanzaa should be an anti Christmas of sorts. The name Kwanzaa is derived from matunda ya kwanza, a Swahili phrase for first fruits, is based on traditional African harvest festivals, combining customs from several different cultures. Each of the seven days represents one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa, or nguzo saba. There are also seven symbols of Kwanzaa, which celebrants display prominently in their homes throughout the holiday. The colors of Kwanzaa are red, black and green the colors of the Pan African flag, which symbolizes unity among African people all over the world. (An analysis of the archetypes in Blake s Lamb and Tyger ) Tigers, they re fierce, independent, destructive, powerful, experienced and cunning. Lambs are the polar opposite, considered gentle, pleasant, and innocent creatures. William Blake discusses both these archetypes in his poems Lamb and Tyger . The poems are a discussion on the archetype of each animal; when paired together they suggest our own society can be divided into these two groups of people. The archetypes of Lamb and Tyger vividly contrast each other in way that allows us to categorize ourselves into one of three groups. In the first of Blake s poems he discusses the archetype of a lamb, the innocent and gentle of the world. At one point in Lamb it characterizes the lamb to have, Softest clothing wooly bright, alluding to the pure and innocent nature of the lamb. Lambs with, such a tender voice, that, make all the vales rejoice. These are the people of the world that don t have a mean bone in their body. • 48. Reoccurring Themes Of Evil In The Fellowship Of The Ring The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines evil as morally reprehensible and causes harm . Some will debate that evil is an inherited trait, while others will argue that evil is acquired over time. Throughout J.R.R. Tolkien s first part of The Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring , there are reoccurring themes of evil and corruption, most of which surround the One Ring, and can vary depending on who possesses the Ring. While both natural evilness and developed evilness are demonstrated, The Fellowship of the Ringsuggests that evil is not inherited, but acquired over time. Evil is prominent throughout The Fellowship of the Ring . Shortly after Boromir suggests that they use the Ring against Sauron, Elrond responds saying that the Ring, is altogether evil (267). This script shows that the ring was created to draw other to darkness , which is often used to symbolize evil. While the Ring itself is evil, it is the only truly evil thing in Middle Earth: For noting was evil in the beginning. Even Sauron was not so. (267). Throughout The Fellowship of the Ring , there is a close correlation between the one ring and evil, as Elrond says, The very desire of it corrupts the heart (267). When Gandalf the Grey suggests that Bilbo leaves the ring behind before he goes on his journey, Bilbo ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
