Defensive Drivers Research Paper
How to be the best defensive driver It is crucial for defensive drivers to be fully aware of all the
precautions while driving. The laws specified for drivers need deep and thoughtful consideration
from defensive drivers in order to fully understand. Drivers must consider any act of unsure
safety to avoid severe accidents. Following these special steps on a day to day basis leads the
worst drivers to the best defensive drivers ever. When learning to drive it is extremely important to
understand the laws for drivingand to learn new tips that help drivers with being defensive. The
first step for the driverto do is right after pulling out from the driveway, text. Because no one is
ever on the phone making calls, replying to messages, and checking social media, defensive
drivers are the first in line to do this. If people get ignored they will be sentimental and hurt; for
which is why they are a priority. Doing this increases skills necessary throughout the driver s life.
One of the skills is multitasking. Let go of the steering wheel to use both hands to text, make sure
not to rush to take the time to check for any errors in the message. This will... Show more content on

Goal Setting In Health And Social Care Essay
Practical problems arise in all work settings, and the healthcare industry is certainly no exception.
By applying motivation theories, management and directors of Health Information Services
Departments (HISDs) can solve such problems, leading to significantly happier, more motivated,
loyal employees, as well as gaining better results in productivity.
It is widely known that goal setting is a vital part of achieving success and improving overall
performance. Our modern understanding of goal setting came from Dr Edwin Locke s research in
the late 1960 s. In his 1968 article, Toward a Theory of Task Motivationand Incentives , he showed
that employees are motivated and their performance improves when they are set clear, achievable
goals, and receive appropriate feedback. He found specific, challenging goals lead to the highest
performance, as long as the goals are not too challenging.
The following five goal setting principles, according to Locke and Dr Gary Latham s 1990
published work, best improve the chance of success: Setting clear goals; setting challenging goals;
securing team commitment, gaining feedback, and considering task complexity. ... Show more

Work stress is mainly linked to work overload, so HISD management was keen to find a long term
solution to avoid having burnt out employees. The objective is to redesign healthcare work so
employees can work smarter, although this can be a very time consuming task for management to
implement. They do not want the end result to be distortion, fragmentation or work overload. In a
nutshell, restructuring jobs and reorganising work will produce the most

Essay on The Success of the Willie Nelson Concert Experience
The concert of the Willie Nelson Experience (WNE) was a huge success. Our success shook the
roots of Arlington. Our rock n roll took us to the top. Although street performing is not as easy as
it looks, our legend of the great Willie Nelson Experience begins now. In this paper, I am going to
discuss my experiences playing in the WNE, the bass guitar, and the one and only Willie Nelson. In
the legendary WNE, I am the bass player. For this project, it took hours on end of studying the
bass inside and out to become this legendary player that I dreamt of before this project. The electric
bass, a mystical object that is the foundation of every song, was invented by Paul Tutmarc. Since
the 1960s the bass guitar has replaced other instruments... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is also a semi acoustic bass. It is only partially hollowed out. Hofner s Beatle bass is a good
example. Its the violin shaped bass that Sir Paul McCartney often plays. The double bass, or upright
bass has many different names. My favorite is the doghouse bass. This bass is often used in jazz.
People play this by plucking or slapping the bass. Another common use is in orchestras. People
play this style with bows. This bass is the largest and lowest pitched instrument of the viol
family. The viol family contain the viola, violin, fiddle, and many others. The upright bass was
the inspiration of all basses. I was the first bass and probably most important because of the
sparks it caused for new invention. All basses are in my opinion the most important instruments
because they hold everyone together. Learning to play the bass was my pleasure and I feel its
something I will use for the rest of my life. The WNE was inspired by Willie Nelson. In our first
performance, we featured On The Road Again (OTRA) and it was a huge hit. OTRA was
written early in 1979 on a train. Willie Nelson was studying his lines for the movie Honeysuckle
Rose when the executive producer asked him to write the theme song for their movie. 35 minutes
later, written on a barf bag, Willie Nelson had possibly the greatest country hit in his hands. Willie
Nelson had many albums that were critical to hi success. Shotgun Willie (1973), Red Headed
Stranger (1975),

The Anatomy And Physiology Of The Eye
The human eye is a wonderful organ enabling us to perform all our daily tasks. The sense of
sight allows to do almost all activities. There are countless activities including studying, cooking,
driving, or playing an instrument. Other tasks that vision is helpful for would be communicating,
working, making life a lot easier, which are very essential. Most people would agree that vision
is more valuable than the rest. The eyes allow us to interpret colors and shapes. This happens after
a long complex process, starting from the reflect of light on the objects to the eyes and ends up in
the brain as images. Having a healthy eyeis very important and improves the quality of a person s
life. In this paper points out the very common eye... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The other two portions in this layer are the choroid, the posterior and vascular portion which
supplies blood to all layers and the ciliary body which is a ring of muscles around the lens used
to focus the lens. The lens has a flexible structure that can change shape to precisely focus light on
the retina. The Retina is the very interior layer which consists of two layers. The pigmented outer
layer which absorbs light and prevents scattering. And the Neural layer composed of bipolar cells,
ganglion cells and two types of photoreceptors.
The eye is protected by a cushion of fat and a bony orbit surrounding the eye s anterior part. There
are also accessory structures that protect the eye and help maintain the eye s function. These
accessory structures include the eyelids, eyebrows, lacrimal apparatus, conjunctiva, and the
extrinsic eye muscles. The eyebrows function is to shade the eye from sunlight and keep out
perspiration from reaching the eye. The eyelids contains the nerves that initiate reflex blinking, and
protects the eye s anterior part, because it contains eyelashes at the edges, which prevents debris or
small particles like dust or sand from entering the eye. It also contains lubrication glands to keep the
eye moistened, such as tarsal glands and ciliary glands. The Conjunctiva is a transparent membrane
which also produces mucus. Next, the lacrimal consists of the lacrimal gland and ducts which

Pope Francis Influence
On March 13, 2013 white smoke ushered in a new era within the Roman Catholic Church. For the
first time in its history, a Pope from the Americas was chosen to lead. It was expected that the
newly elected American Pope, who called himself Francis after St. Francis of Assisi, would help
restore the Catholic Church s reputation, reform the clerical bureaucracy, and reinvigorate Catholic
participation. In the first few months of his papacy, that is exactly what he did.
Pope Francis did away with ornate and rigid traditions of previous popes. He restructured core
Vatican institutions such as the clerical hierarchy and the banking system, in order to drive out
corruption. His messages of simplicity and mercy were engrained in unselfish gestures, such as the
washing of offenders feet, (something) , and (something), that helped bring Catholics back into the
fold. Yet, for some Catholics, like Maureen Dowd, Pope Francis efforts have not changed the church
enough.

In her piece, Dowd spoke against Pope Francis lack of support for a group of American nuns
who had publically endorsed liberal legislation (such as contraception, gay rights and abortion as
well as a feminization of God) that contradicted long held church teachings. Dowd questioned how
Pope Francis could confess to believe in social justice and helping the poor when he failed to
prevent orthodox clergy from chastising nuns who held beliefs that would seemingly align with the
Pope s own motto of Who am I to judge . Her article linked this instance on non action to another

Is Cyberbullying as Pervasive and as Dangerous as Physical...
Making nick names by classmates, posting secret photos online by colleagues, or even being
slandered by strangers, these common experiences are types of cyberbullying. Lots of people have
such cyberbullying experiences because it occurs more frequently than before. More specifically,
cyberbullying is the use of the Internet, cell phones, or other electronic communication devices to
spread harmful or embarrassing information in the form of text, photos or videos about another
person. Cyberbullying is worse than physical bullyingbecause of its serious consequences, and the
person who suffers the cyberbullying would be hurt mentally by harmful messages, which is more
difficult to cure than physical injury.
First of all, an increasing number ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tom s family was devastated by the cyberbullying because they were clueless about the anonymous
offenders, and these offenders did not being punished accordingly, so the cyberbullying will
continue to spread and form a vicious circle.
More importantly, cyberbullying has deeper influence than physical bullying because it may
involve in a wide range of audiences within short time period and give high pressure to victims
psychologically. For the traditional physical bullying, it refers to the physical altercations or
perhaps verbal abuse from others, so victims of traditional physical bullying might feel safe at
home, which can be limited the bullying in the place. Even though someone is injured due to
physical bullying, the wound is curable, and won t leave a trace. However, the cyberbullying is
a kind of bullying popping up in cyber space, so the victims can be attacked from anywhere at
any time through the network (Yalda, Psychology in Action), so the victim would leave an
incurable shadow. In 2006, an American Educational Research Association study shows that the
number of people who prefer to harass other online was twice as the number of people who
would bully others face to face (Scott). Some researchers made further analysis with 7200 U.S. 6
10th grade students and shows that that The cyber bullying victims exhibited higher rates of

Essay on Ethnic Literature
The Power in a Name The term ethnic when in conjunction with the word literature in the academic
discourse community of students, often brings out mixed feelings of excitement and dread. On the
one hand, students understand that they will be getting away from the canonical American
literature which can equal boring in their eyes; on the other hand, students interpret the term ethnic
literature to mean distinctive which can equal confusing or ambiguous and perhaps at times not
relatable because it is outside their scope of experiences. Perhaps before jumping into why it
matters, the term ethnic literature should be defined first and because I am still learning how to
interpret this term myself, I searched for a suitable... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this deeper level I am trying to get at, I find John M. Reilly s article Criticism of Ethnic
Literature: Seeing the Whole Story helpful in acquiring this. He states that, the assertion of
ethnicity in literature can be made only through a procedure by which the writer resolves formal
problems... what moves from recognition of identity to creation of a strategy for handling reality
still is not literature until the individual author sustains her or his ethnic identity through a
sequence of formal choices (4). I am interpreting this to mean that as a reader of this literature, I
should see and feel throughout the story (perhaps subtlety) that in some way, the characters
mindset (and perhaps actions) in the story differ from my own specifically because of the culture
they have grown up in in, which has shaped that character s thinking. There are thoughts and
feelings ideas, I don t understand without further explanation from the author, which is sometimes
provided, and sometimes not. An example of this is in Brando Skyhorse s novel The Madonnas of
Echo Park, I find myself wondering what the significance of the jacaranda trees mentioned in
different parts of the book. Looking up what they are, it becomes apparent to me as jacaranda trees

Argumentative Essay On Prions
Proteinaceous Infectious Particles, commonly known as Prions, are extremely rare misfolds of
the protein PrPc, which cause fatally neurodegenerative diseases, and are theorized to be
infectious only by the protein itself (U.S National Library of Medicine, 1998). This protein only
theory is still heavily debated today, as some scientists deny the theory, and there isn t a significant
amount of evidence on each side to qualify the theory or disprove it (Soto, C. 2011). The base Prion
protein is encoded in the gene PRNP, while being non infectious. Prions are most commonly found
in human prion diseases, but they can also be in other animals in the form of Mad Cow Disease
and Chronic Wasting Disease, classified as Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathies... Show more

In the early 1900 s, the Fore tribe was struck with an epidemic of Kuru, a brain eating disorder
that causes shaking, and furthermore the name Kuru in the means shaking or trembling in a
literal sense. The Fore spread this disease a fair bit, specifically due to their cannibalistic funeral
practices of eating the remains of the dead, and specifically the brain (Bichell, Rae Ellen 2016).
However, the presence of Prions have been around for eras, but the discovery in the Fore tribe
spearheaded the movement to learn more about them. Eventually in 1982, the Prion protein was
discovered by Stanley Prusiner, eventually earning him the Nobel Prize in 1997 for his proof of
the lack of DNA or RNA in the protein, juxtaposed to bacteria and viruses (Prion Alliance, 2016).
As the amount of diseases discovered increased, it became eerily known that the Prion disease in
humans and animals were all caused by one original misfolded protein, PrPsc. Despite a common
origin, pinning down a solution to the problems of Prions is an extremely complex issue. With an
extreme resistance to everything, Prions opens the question of sanitization in hospitals. If a doctor
were to be working with a Prion contaminated sample, the tools used may be thought to be
completely clean, yet Prions being highly resistant would persevere against normal

Good vs Bad in a tale of two cities Essay
Good vs. Bad In the novel, A Tale of Two Cities Charles Dickens opens with an anaphora, about
how the world is throughout the novel. A reoccurring theme throughout this story is the battle
between good and evil. Most of the novel is about the struggles each force has and how most of
the time good triumphs over evil. In A Tale of Two Cities
, the triumph of love, the death of the
Marquis, and the contrast between Sydney Carton and Charles Darnay shows how good triumphed
over evil.
Throughout the novel, the power of love triumphed over evil. When Miss Pross fights Madame
Defarge to protect Lucie it shows Miss Pross s love towards Lucie. Miss Pross is like a mother to

Plus he does not want to share his wealth with anyone just like when a poor woman asks to have
a little money to buy her husband a head stone he just passes her like it is nothing. He shows no
regard for human life and that is why he needs to die. He rides his carriage through the streets
fast so he can see the peasants run and avoid being hit, and because he was doing this he ran over
a child. He acted like the child s life meant nothing and threw the father a few coins and kept
going. The cruelty and evil he delivered would die with him, and for the good of the people in
the town his death was an example how good triumphed over evil. Lastly, good did triumph over
evil in Sydney Carton. Sydney Carton is a drunk who hates Darnay because if Carton was not a
drunk he would have everything Darnay has, like the love of Lucie Manette. Carton is seen as
the darkness because of the disparity he has and how low he has fallen. Whereas Darnay is seen as
light or the good guy due to how his life is going. In the end when Sydney gives up his life for
Darnay it shows how Sydney is transferring from being sad and dark. His selfless act proved that
the bad Sydney Carton has saved Darnay and kept Lucie, Cartons love, happy.
The triumph of love, the death of Madame Defarege, and the triumph of Charles Darnay in trial
shows how good triumphed over evil. The theme of

Genetic Engineering Research Paper
I. Introduction In the past three decades, scientists have learned how to mix and match
characteristics among unrelated creatures by moving genes from one creature to another. This is
called genetic engineering. Genetic Engineering is prematurely applied to food production. There
are estimates that food output must increase by 60 percent over the next 25 years to keep up with
demand. Thus, the result of scientist genetically altering plants for more consumption. The two
most common methods for gene transfer are biological and electromechanical. Early experiments

Parents today enroll their children in the best possible schools and will do anything to make
sure their children look up to standards. Possibly in a few decades parents would be able to
choose from a plethora of traits: hair color, eye color, bigger muscles and so on that their children
could obtain. Maybe they d like to add a few inches to a child s height. Or improve their kid s
chances at longevity by tweaking inherited DNA. Planning the child s genetic future could really
give him/her a head start in life.
II. Background There isn t any background information of human genetic engineering because it is
perceived as unmoral, but there are many comparable instances of altering genes. Genetic
engineering is the largest food experiment in the history of the world. More than 100 million
acres of the world s most fertile farmland were planted with genetically modified crops last year,
about 25 times as much as just four years earlier (King,1999). There is a series on genetic
engineering of food crops, genetic engineers are now moving genes around among plants and
animals. The attempt to improve the human race genetically relates to someone creating a

Designer Patrick Robinson leaves the company (loss of key staff)
According to the article, Gap is facing a difficult situation as their head designer, Patrick Robinson,
leaves the company. Retail analysts believe that the company needs to be downsized by closing
unproductive stores, they need to make management changes, and they need improved products
that are consistent with the merchandising strategies. The basic problem is that Gap s image has

needs to be repositioned, and they need someone who understands the customer, that will turn the
brand around. Gap s strategy is to close all stores that are underperforming in order to cut costs.
They will also spend more money on advertising and marketing to a younger market and to
minorities such as Hispanics, Asians, and African Americans. By doing so, they hope to acquire
greater market share. They will also use new technology that will locate products online and in
stores.
In my opinion, I think that Gap s image has definitely started to decline. Today, most customers are

strengthened as, according to Schwarzkopf hair dictionary, the normal average thickness of a
European person hair is between 0.06 0.1mm (Hair Dictionary: Important Facts about Hair, 2017).

Rhetorical Analysis Of Women s Rights Activist Mary...
In her book about education as a vehicle for social mobility of women in society, author,
philosopher, and women s rights activist Mary Wollstonecraft uses several rhetorical devices to
build her argument about women s roles in society. She uses a comparison and contrast expository
mode to help people understand the modern womans experience, especially as it differs from the
experience of men, appeal to pity to create an emotional connection with her audience, and
restrained diction to show how confined women are in society, all through an iconoclastic and
indignant tone.
She compares the few tasks that civilized women are able to perform with the wide variety of
tasks that men routinely perform in order to illustrate how little autonomy the modern woman has.
For instance, while a male soldier can march and counter march and manipulate the senate to work
for them, women do not have any of these opportunities. Men have so much more power; they
govern everything that goes on outside the house, and have a lot more freedom in what they do.
Even in a relationship, the man is responsible and the women is reduced to a cypher, she claims.
Furthermore, it is extremely difficult for a woman to get a job that pays enough so she can be
financially independent of her husband; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She uses the barbaric words and phrases slaves, and severe restraint, to illustrate how horrible their
situations were, even if this seemingly civilized society. Women s lives, she claimed, were marked
by degradation and servitude. Although, these traits could be hidden behind a facade of propriety,
women were still repressed and did not have the autonomy that their male counterparts did. In
current society, women are viewed as pitiful dependents, but they have so much more potential, she
argues. And through a concerted effort of all men and women, women can and should become
more integrated into society, she

How Does Malcolm X s Influence On Religion
It was an absolutely fascinating to read about this man s life his upbringing, life of crime,
induction into the nation of Islam while in prison, his career, his family and the manner in
which his attitude toward the White race changed near to end of his life. Malcolm X or El Hajj

Among the gists that I have learnt from his story are the fact that he learnt a lot from his past
experiences and his surroundings. All the exposure and racial pride and anger that went with it
has lead him to educate and reconstructed himself and also lead him to get involve with the
Nation. I totally believe that his attitudes, personality and charismatic values is shaped from all
the life experiences that he had gone through. For example, he learnt to be heard and recognized

The Pros And Cons Of Social Media
In society today, we as a whole have replaced communicating face to face and have switched to
expressing our ideas behind a screen. Because of this, a good number of arguments have arose
from post and publications that state someone s opinion about an issue. One of the most highly
used forms of media in our world today is social media, which are websites and technological
apps that enable a person or group to create their own websites and pages for a specific purpose.
Social media creates a second world where people can communicate with others across the world
in a matter of seconds. Whenever you have a large collection of people in the same area, each
stating their argumentsand sides to something, there are going to be conflicting sides to every
situation. Another way of describing the word argument is by using the words ethos, pathos, and
logos. These three words are used when arguing on social media every single day. Ethos, which
is the credibility and expertise that a person has on a specific topic, is used in arguments for
appealing to people who are interested in their product or service. Imagine that John is trying to
purchase medication for his diabetes. He has found two types of medication online. One is found
on a Facebook page by a random person with no knowledge of medicine, and the other is found on
a doctor s website. The doctor has 28 years of experience of taking care of patients and has went to

The Selfish Grandmother In A Good Man Is Hard To Find
Flannery O Connor sets up the story in a way that characterizes the grandmother as socially
awkward, causing her to stand out from everyone else. In the beginning, the grandmother attempts
to convince her son, Bailey, to take the family to Tennessee to visit some of her connections for
vacation instead of Florida solely because she did not want to go. Attempting to scare Bailey into
changing his mind, she brings to his attention an article about the Misfit, an escaped criminal
heading in the direction of Florida. Shortly after leaving Atlanta, the familypasses Stone Mountain

Ironically, the grandmother has a conversation with the children telling them that they should be

grandchildren concerning respect , respect for native states , for parents , and for everything
else , then she immediately reveals her essential self by calling the boy a cute little pick ninny

people when she is not even one herself, is an epic failure. Children tend to pick up and adapt
behaviors based on what the older figures in their life act out so as a grandmother, she does not

The Deconstruction Of Mentor Texts Essay
Each of the three cycles included one initial draft writing session, one elaborating ideas session and
one changing vocabulary session. Each of the inquiry cycles had a different authentic context and
topic focus and each session involved links to reading programme (Appendix ?). Although text
structure and topic knowledge was not an explicit focus of the intervention, it is recognised as an
essential foundation of expert writing. Therefore the deconstruction of mentor texts, analysis of text
structure and developing topic knowledge was built into the reading programme and the initial draft
writing sessions. The elaborating ideas session was focused on writing for an audience and
ensuring their writing provide their audience with appropriate, specific and depth of information.
The changing vocabulary sessions focused on identifying common words and replacing or adding
synonyms that were rarely used in their writing. Followingeach inquiry cycles one or two
substantial changes were made in subsequent inquiry cycles to improve and refine the teaching and
learning strategies employed, as shown in figure 3.

The Relations Between China And The Democratic Republic Of...
Introduction The trajectory of global politics has dramatically changed after the end the World War
II and after the Berlin Wall came down in 1989. In fact, many countries around the globe became
economically competitive, politically stable, and culturally optimistic. As the result, many nations
started affirming themselves on the global arena while others continued to struggle internally and
beyond the borders. The combinations of these factors have perhaps led to interdependency.
Globalization has played a significant role in bringing nations together. In order to advance their
interests, share their common experience, and overcome their weaknesses, states constantly engage
in bilateral or multilateral relationships. The bilateral relationships between China and the
Democratic Republic of Congo obey to these dynamic trends. The People s Republic of China and
the Democratic Republic of Congo enjoy stable diplomatic relations although there have been an
increasing economic interests for one another since 1973.
Background
The People s Republic of China and the Democratic Republic of Congo (Formerly Zaire)
established their diplomatic relationships in 1973 during an official visit to Beijing by Mubuto.
Since, there have been intensifications despite the internal turmoil on each side. Before 1973
however, relations with China became rocky when Zaire obtained its independence in 1960 from
Belgium and established relations with Taiwan. As the result, the angry China

Apocalypse Now, Apocalypse Forever
Apocalypse Now, Apocalypse Forever
Francis Ford Coppola s magnum opus Apocalypse Now was ladened with problems and
difficulties before and after filming. These problems ranged from those having to do with the cast
and crew, to those having to do with the circumstances surrounding the filming, to those having to
do with the script, to those dealing in direct regard to the very sanity of all of those involved with
Apocalypse Now. Despite the myriad of problems that contributed to this acclaimed film s failure,
Apocalypse Now still became a success in its own right, and a true classic by any director s
standards.

He chose to set a feel for his scenes unknown , then have the actors improvise what was going to
happen (Behr). Coppola also had these actors make lists of what they felt that their characters
should do in different situations (Behr). This caused an effect of the script writing itself, as well as
creating a deeper rift between it and the source material. Marlon Brando, who portrayed Kurtz, fed
the fire of deep confusion where the script was concerned. Both Heart of Darkness, and Milius
original script, as well as Coppola s later interpretation of these, called for the character of Kurtz
to be a frail, sickly, and dying man. Brando, however, refused to get into shape as Coppola had
requested. Brando was in fact so fat during filming that he was shy about it (Behr). Coppola first
suggested that he rewrite the script to accommodate the character to Brando by setting him up as
a gluttonous, man consumed by his own evil excesses (Behr). Brando refused to be undignified
in his portrayal, so the filming, as well as the writing remained stagnant for days on end. In the
end Coppola merely set Brando and Sheen free to improvise for three weeks, leaving him with an
incoherent batch of footage that, with the exception of the death lines of The Horror! The Horror!
(Conrad) had little to do with the script, or the novel. Time and money

Heart Of Darkness Analysis
In the novel Heart of Darkness, the characters who spend time in the heart of the jungle in the

this change is Mr. Kurtz. This relates to what Pauline Hopkins once said in Contending Forces,
And, after all, our surroundings influence our lives and characters as much as fate, destiny or any

with no morals and the need for power. Mr. Kurtz was once a man with morals, but once he
because a victim of the overwhelming power he had in the jungle, he abandoned the person he

painting of the woman, Then I noticed a small sketch in oils... representing a woman, draped and
blindfolded, carrying a lighted torch. The background was somber almost black. 21 22 This
shows how he uses the torch to show how Kurtz is trying to bring light into the the jungle where
only darkness is found. Despite this act, Kurtz soon changes his view of light and dark, his
actions become sinister and his main worry becomes the obtainment of ivory and power over the

The Role of Women in Ancient Egyptian Society Essay
It is difficult to fully understand the role of women in ancient Egyptian society because the
understandings of the society and government are still incomplete. There are also two other major
problems, those being that there is very little source material on women, and the material that has
been found was biased by the ideas and minds of previous Egyptologists. The only source material
that has survived from great kingdoms of Egypt is material that has been either found in tombs on
the walls and sarcophaguses, or carved on major government and religious document. None of the
writings on papyrus and other delicate materials survived. This material, which has survived, is the
writings of the Egyptianliterate male elite. In their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ancient Egyptian courts were composed of members of the society who were trusted and revered.
Marriage did not affect a woman s legal standing; a married woman had the same rights as a
single one. This is because property did not automatically transfer over to the husband after he
married a woman. Rather she remained in control of all of her assets until the day that she would
die. Her land and her affairs remained hers, unaffected by her mate. In fact, a woman in ancient
Egypt had the legal right to loan money to her husband.
Many scenes, drawn in tombs, depict the social freedom of women. They are shown partaking in
business transactions with their husbands, and at times, some women were even executing their
own business ventures. At hunts, they are shown in crowds cheering for the success of the hunters,
and women are shown sitting along side of men at great gatherings and feasts.
While women in ancient Egypt were not free in terms of most of today s societies, neither were
men. Neither man nor woman knew anything of the modern concept of liberty and equality. Their
society was hierarchical, and not based on free will. During the Ptolemaic period of Egyptian
history, Greek women enjoyed a much higher status living in Egypt, than they would have back in
Greece, It has been suggested that perhaps Greek women observed Egyptian women

referring to the therapy meeting as bunch of chickens at a peckin party uses an animal motif to

Brief Description Of Public Policy
Part A: Brief description of public policy
Policy refers to a distinct path of action that is suitable for the pursuit of desired goals within a
particular context, directing the decision making or behavior of an organization or individual.
There are three key elements of policies: problem definition, goals to be achieved, and policy
instruments to address the problem and achieve the goal. The policy process is an activity of
balancing different solutions that address aspects of complex problems: the policymaking is
typically described as messy (CITE). Important components of the policy process include
identification of a policy problem along with framing the problem for solutions (also known as
policy formulation), implementation of policy strategies, and establishing outcomes for evaluation
of policy effectiveness.
Policies come from those who have legitimate authority to impose normative guidelines for action
(i.e., elected officials). Formulation of health related policies is complex and depends on a variety
of scientific, economic, social, and political forces. As a result, there is a considerable gap between
what public health research shows is effective and the policies that are enacted and enforced
(Brownson, Chriqui, Stamatakis, 2009).
Non elected officials (i.e., practitioners) are generally required to implement the policy through
programs (i.e., interventions). There are many barriers to effective policy implementation. For
example, insufficient

individual whales have their own prey. There are those who feed on fish, while others hunt for

The cost of college education in the 21st century is absolutely ridiculous. although colleges have
to make money to support things like sports, it is making it so more and more kids aren t going
to college, and the kids who do go are coming out with huge amounts of debt. People who go to
college aren t coming out with the job that they think they deserve, which is leading to lower
income, and a harder time paying off their college debt.
The first part of this paper is going to be talking about how college is so over priced and why it
shouldn t be so expensive. By colleges making the price of their tuition so high it is making it so
that less kids are able to go to college, which makes it so that when kids come out of high school
they are working at low end jobs and are having trouble making enough money to support
themselves. In 1930 tuition was fairly low, and students could attend wharton Business school
for $250 (best online colleges). This relates back to the thesis about how less kids are going to
college because of how much money it. back in 1930 almost 70% of kids went to college. In
2013 only about 50% of high school grads are going to college. And for the 50% of kids who are
going to college, most of them are coming out with huge amounts of debt that is taking them year to
pay off.
Because of the drastic rise in college tuition, it has made it so that the kids who are going to college
are coming out with more debt than they can handle. Between

Emerald Ash Borer Essay
The Emerald Ash Borer is a phloem feeding beetle that is native to Asia and has been increasing
its presence in the US. The beetle is invasive, harmful to native ash trees, and has the ability to
spread (Kovacs et al., 2010). The invasive beetles cause destruction to ash trees in a gradual
process, that usually lasts three years. The beetles initiate the attack along the upper trunk and
bases of main branches and then work their way down (Winners, 2002). The adult beetles lay eggs
on the ash trees bark and when they hatch, the larvae bore into the bark and feed on the
transportation tissues of the tree (NCFS, 2016). This causes disruption of the movement of
nutrients and water within the tree. Since the bug resides and lays eggs within the tree s bark, they

The trees do a lot of evapotranspiration, so if the borer destroyed them, the watershed levels would
increase. This increase would negatively affect plant diversity because invasive species and grasses
would start to become present. In urban areas, there is usually more diversity, so the absence of
black ash would not affect the habitat that significantly. Also, if a tree dies in an urban
environment, another one can be planted. On the other hand, in a forested wetland, if black ash
trees start dying they would be very hard to replace and replenish. Slesak et al., 2014 state that if
evapotranspiration is affected, a shift in the vegetation would occur and favor herbaceous
vegetation rather than trees. There are various methods used to manage the spread of EAB to black
ash forested wetlands. Mercader et al., 2011 bring up one method, which consists of removing ash
trees to reduce available host phloem resource. Basically, foresters cut down trees that can host
EAB, attempting to eliminate their presence. A different method, brought up by BenDor et al.,
2006, consists of implementing firewood

Example Of The Lemon Case
The Lemon Case Yazan Deiry Schiller International University Introduction An offer, according
to business law, is an expression that an individual is willing to enter into a contract, provided
specific terms are adhered to and as soon as it is accepted it ultimately becomes binding by the
person with whom this offer has been addressed to (Riches Allen, 2013). To form an agreement,
there has to be an offer by a party, an exchange of thought or consideration (an item of value), and
an acceptance by the other party. The individual that proposes the agreement terms makes the
offer, and is referred to as the offeror within the contract or agreement law while the individual to
whom the proposal or offer is made is called the offeree (Llewellyn, 2013). This case study
describes a situation where an individual owned a new cell phone that gave him a lot of trouble.

the practice was not worthy and that the seller had created false representations, hence; he sued for
the contract s rescission. The court granted the lawyer a rescission of the contract on the grounds
that the man was influenced to enter into a contract by means of false representation. Furthermore,
the representations made by seller were false (Friedmann, 2003). In this regard, the person who was

consequences and as such, the neighbor was induced into entering into the

The Invisible Quest
The Invisible Quest If I could have any superpower, it d definitely be invisibility is the popular
cognitive of the masses. Many people say the perks to invisibility are: being able to be there but
not seen and complete freedom to do whatever. But, whimsical thoughts are completely different
than the actual experience. Being invisible is being ignored. Being invisible is not being heard
even when seen and not being acknowledged even when in the same room. Humans want to be
heard, seen, and talked to. And yet, being invisible is being able to have the freedom to be yourself

paint factory used black dope to create a pure white paint. It showed how black people became
invisible as the white man came out on top. Unfortunately in the time of racism, the blacks were
invisible but not blind. Before the exile from his home, the narrator was blind. Although the
alienation was difficult, through adversities and tribulations, the pathway to the light became
clearer. Even though he was unsure of exactly what he wanted, he was no longer blind and no
longer blind. He was in his manhole underground waiting patiently for the answers he knew only he

Corporate Social Responsibility in marketing and advertising
ABSTRACT
The area of corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a constantly evolving field with direct impact
on an organizations strategies and success, and it has become an important part of how the beer
making industry promotes and advertises itself. Current portrayals of corporate social responsibility
in the beer making industry are misleading and do not show the true nature of these practices.

The advantages of conducting responsible advertising for us as a society aren t hard to imagine or
even define, but as of now, there are no published outlines to define what constitutes responsible
advertising, and the deficit of such a definition makes it harder for stakeholders to discern what is
and isn t considered acceptable in regards to responsible advertising. (M.Hyman)
Anheuser Busch took a step into the direction of promoting their responsibility campaign by
launching their Budweiser Designate a Driver Blimp campaign . This campaign was the first ever
blimp to be flown in the United States that advertises social responsibility to drinking, but
essentially, the blimp is a big floating billboard sign. It is intended to be flown over various venues
and sporting events across the U.S. to advocate the safe and responsible use of alcohol, but
Anheuser Busch clearly understands the role of advertising to their overall success. Anheuser
Busch clearly maintains and advertises an advocacy of responsible drinking, but is that that the
underlying message? When it comes to advertising, they maintain a strong stance to ensure they do
not depict situations where beer is being consumed excessively, but they also make strong
statements and push to promote

What do you understand to be the concept of entrepreneurship and why has it become such an

Q2) What do you understand to be the concept of entrepreneurship and why has it become such an
important area of focus?
The concept of entrepreneurship is often viewed as a function, which involves the exploitation of
opportunities, which exist within a market. Such exploitation is most commonly associated with
the direction and/or combination of productive inputs. Entrepreneurs usually are considered to bear
risk while pursuing opportunities, and often are associated with creative and innovative actions. In
addition, entrepreneurs undertake a managerial role in their activities, but routine management of an

Entrepreneurship is the dynamic process of creating incremental wealth. Individuals who assume
the major risks in terms of equity, time and/or career commitment or provide value for some
product or service create the wealth. The product or service may or may not be new or unique, but
the entrepreneur must somehow infuse value by receiving and locating the necessary skills and
resources. Although each of these definitions views entrepreneurs from a slightly different
perspective, they all contain similar notions, such as newness, organizing, creating, wealth, and risk
taking. Yet each definition is somewhat restrictive, since entrepreneurs are found in all professions:
education, medicine, research, law, architecture, engineering, social work, distribution and
government.
Entrepreneurship is the process of creating something new with value by devoting the necessary
time and effort, assuming the accompanying financial, psychic, and social risks, and receiving the
resulting rewards of monetary and personal satisfaction and independence. Four basic aspects of

Peter Singer s The Singer Solution To World Poverty
The Declaration of Independence guarantees everyone the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit
of happiness. In many ways, those inalienable rights are tied into many aspects of the
stereotypical American lifestyle. There is the idea of the American Dream, consisting of a
nuclear family living in a nice house with a white picket fence, a well cared for lawn, and a car
in the driveway. As we all know this is a very atypical scenario for most of the planet. According
to DoSomething.org, more than three billion people live on less than $2.50 a day, with 1.3
billion of those people living in extreme poverty, characterized by extreme poverty (less than
$1.25 a day) ( 11 Facts About Global Poverty | Dosomething.Org | Volunteer For Social Change ).
With such a large economical gap shouldn t people feel more compelled to act up and donate
money to a cause? This is the question that author Peter Singerexplores in his essay The Singer
Solution to World Poverty, with entails people being radically philanthropic, giving away all
money that isn t used on necessities. While this method seems like the most charitable course to
take, humans enjoy luxuries and do not care for everyone equally. There are many moral dilemmas
in which there is a deviation from what is right in the utilitarian point of view and the morals that
current society holds.
While it is important to look at Singer s specific argument, it is also important to take a step back
and look at where he is

Essay On Haste And Immature In Romeo And Juliet
As a late father, author, experienced polymath, brilliant inventor and politician Benjamin Franklin
often informed people to take time for all things: great haste makes great waste. Being one of the
founding fathers of the United States, Franklin declared that haste will lead to missed opportunities
and chaos. He also indicated that you should take time to think of every outcome, that may include
thinking about other people s fate or just your own. The adults and the young adolescents in this
play are all at fault for the rivalry. In Shakespeare s play, Romeo and Juliet the majority of the
conflicts constructed have been by haste and immaturity created by the young adolescents and a

Juliet is willing to die for him regardless of the place or how they met; even though Juliet did not
get notified of his name until after the party. These are the leading factors of haste and
immaturity found in children and while there are many more prime examples of it, there are
also excessive amounts to do with adult haste and immaturity. Although parents or adults will
not admit it to the younger audience, they can be immature and hasty. There are no rules about
how to act and everyone makes mistakes, as it is natural to want to rush into things and do their
job accurately even if they do not have experience in that field. Juliet s father, Capulet is one of
the several victims of haste and immaturity. Regardless, he is very controlling, and he decides to
make Juliet s wedding as soon as possible, so he picks O Thursday let it be. O Thursday, tell her,
/ [Juliet] shall be married to this noble earl. (3:4:20 21). Paris proclaims as he realizes how soon
it is acknowledging that Thursday [is] tomorrow. (3:4:30). When Paris goes to see Friar Laurence,
the Friar questions the haste in this marriage and Paris explains that father Capulet will have it so
and it is not his place to change Capulet s mind (4:1:4). It is immature that Paris says that he could
not change Capulet s mind because he is the man getting married, and he also did not try to change
the date. An

Analysis Of Diving Into The Wreck
A Learning Journey Adrienne Rich s poem Diving into the Wreck is a detailed piece written in
free verse that discusses the emotional journey of her narrator as she sails out into sea to scuba
dive and try to uncover a myth that she once read in a book. The narrator uses a detached tone
while explaining her dive beneath the sea to show a constant image of lonesomeness and a clear
focus of the actions of humanity. In doing so, she creates a feeling of isolation while discovering
the wreck she originally came to find as well as an internal journey we soon come to find out.
From the beginning, the narrator of this poem states being alone by comparing her situation to a
group of explorers. I am having to do this/not like Cousteau with his/assiduous team/aboard the
sun flooded schooner/but here alone (Rich 8 12). Here she is showing her lonesomeness
compared to the adventures of Cousteau and his team. There is also an image within this line
that stands out from the rest which is in line 11, sun flooded schooner, which contrasts her
situation and journey and shows us how gloomy it really is going on this adventure by herself
(Rich). Going forth through the poem, the tone remains detached and becomes less intense as
we read on, so us as readers never know how she is truly feeling. Reading further, we approach a
symbol and an arguable metaphor for a portal between two worlds: the ladder. Starting on line 13,
the ladder receives its own stanza, The ladder is always

Tony Robbins
The quality of your communication is the quality of your life Tony Robbins. How motivating. It
should be because Tony Robbins is a very famous and successful motivational speaker. This quote
couldn t be more true. Good communicators have a very successful life and in order to master
communication, one must understand communicationtheory. According to the text, Introducing
Communication Theory Analysis and Application, communication is defined as a social process in
which individuals employ symbols to establish and interpret meaning in their environment . There
are many different definitions of communication, but all communication definitions explain the
process of transmitting information, the framework of the information, and the effects of that
information. Understanding communication theory can be very rewarding and very beneficial to
people s personal and professional lives. It can help with public speaking, interviews, relationships,
and so much more. The world is always changing, which means communication is too. Taking a
communication theory class helps students make sense of the world around us, express our wants,
needs and desires to others in an appropriate manner. Employers are always looking for good

Literature Review On Luxury Hotel
Introduction Literature Review
Luxury Hotels
It is hard to give a single universal definition for a luxury hotel for the simple reason that it is even
harder to first explain what exactly is entailed in the word luxury (Danziger, 2005). Kapferer (1997)
presented the semiotics of the word luxury as Luxury defines beauty; it is art applied to functional
items, which emphasise that luxury products as an art form brings more psychological satisfaction,
like esteem on the owner, than functional utility.
Barbara Talbott (2004), Ex. Chief Marketing Officer of Four Seasons Hotels, said that there are four
key factors that contribute to a luxury hotel experience; style, comfort, service, and pampering. In

Managers were concerned about knowing and understanding each and every perspective of their
employee s cultures. As they know that without studying or knowing the culture, coordination
cannot be built between the employees. It is the existing perspective of managers dealing with
cross cultural management (Sultana, 2013).
Issues and Challenges
The most recent studies in cross cultural management reveal that the culture is a very expansive
subject for organizations to study, especially for organizations, which hire the most diverse
workforce. One definition of a diverse workforce could be as the one, which comes from
different ethnic and demographic backgrounds (Plessis, 2011). For studying culture of the diverse
workforce, there are two parts to study, the implicit and the explicit culture. The explicit culture
includes behavior while the implicit part involves norms and values of individuals (Guang
Trotter, 2012). The explicit culture is already known when workers stay and work in a firm for a
length of time, but the most difficult is to understand the implicit culture which is obscured in
form of norms and values of the workers. Due to the differences of cultures, workers hold a great
potential of variance, variety in terms of their explicit and implicit parts of the culture. The

The World There Are Many Cultures, And Religions
In the world there are many cultures, and religions. One of the oldest cultures, and religion is
that of Jewish people. Not being jewish makes you see Jewish people in a different light.
Sometimes that light is often very different that what reality is. By going through the life of a
typical Jewish person for a week you will be able to see just how they live and what types of
things differ and are similar. And what you will find is that most often times the differences are
fewer than the similarities. Days go by very normally for jewish people most of the time. Most
of time they go about their day very similarly to everyone else. Depending on the type of person
they could go about their day differently. there are only some jewish people that still live very
traditionally like they use to in the old days. If you go through a typical day of a jewish person
this is what you would find out. When they wake up in the morning they say their daily prayer,
called service of the heart which means the first conscious thought of the day. After they say
their prayer they get ready for the day and they go to work. For breakfast and all meals through
out the day, they must be Kosher. Kosher is a way of preparation of food, for a food to be
kosher it must be prepared and presented in a way that god had intended it for. This means that if
you have dinner meats and vegetables and all separate foods must be separated. Now days most
Jewish people cook their food in the same kitchen just

certainly seem Platonic especially as this idea of wholeness is presented in a speech in the
Symposium, and it is of intrigue as to why it never became a part of the soul Platoset out to define.
Perhaps it was too much for him to interfere with the parallel between the city and the soul that
he describes earlier in this work and their reliance on three parts. Or, as Cooper asks, was Plato
meaning to leave a discussion on the eros under the surface of his work in the Republic? (pgs.
350 61). Regardless, discourse concerning eros in the Republic has taken place and one such
example of that is David H. McNeill. He argues that human eros cannot involve the desires of
something other worldly, at least in the Republic which he contrasts with the Phaedrus. Of the two
works, art is something approached very differently and is a part of a philosophical orientation that
Plato is assigning to each, according to McNeill. The problem is that each discuss it by very
different means. In the Republic such things as poetry and paintings are dismissed fairly easily as
imitations while the Phaedrus gives an account that suggests divine inspiration for these things.
McNeill uses this to suggest that human

  • 3. Goal Setting In Health And Social Care Essay Practical problems arise in all work settings, and the healthcare industry is certainly no exception. By applying motivation theories, management and directors of Health Information Services Departments (HISDs) can solve such problems, leading to significantly happier, more motivated, loyal employees, as well as gaining better results in productivity. It is widely known that goal setting is a vital part of achieving success and improving overall performance. Our modern understanding of goal setting came from Dr Edwin Locke s research in the late 1960 s. In his 1968 article, Toward a Theory of Task Motivationand Incentives , he showed that employees are motivated and their performance improves when they are set clear, achievable goals, and receive appropriate feedback. He found specific, challenging goals lead to the highest performance, as long as the goals are not too challenging. The following five goal setting principles, according to Locke and Dr Gary Latham s 1990 published work, best improve the chance of success: Setting clear goals; setting challenging goals; securing team commitment, gaining feedback, and considering task complexity. ... The objective is to redesign healthcare work so employees can work smarter, although this can be a very time consuming task for management to implement. They do not want the end result to be distortion, fragmentation or work overload. In a nutshell, restructuring jobs and reorganising work will produce the most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Essay on The Success of the Willie Nelson Concert Experience The concert of the Willie Nelson Experience (WNE) was a huge success. Our success shook the roots of Arlington. Our rock n roll took us to the top. Although street performing is not as easy as it looks, our legend of the great Willie Nelson Experience begins now. In this paper, I am going to discuss my experiences playing in the WNE, the bass guitar, and the one and only Willie Nelson. In the legendary WNE, I am the bass player. For this project, it took hours on end of studying the bass inside and out to become this legendary player that I dreamt of before this project. The electric bass, a mystical object that is the foundation of every song, was invented by Paul Tutmarc. Since the 1960s the bass guitar has replaced other instruments... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is also a semi acoustic bass. It is only partially hollowed out. Hofner s Beatle bass is a good example. Its the violin shaped bass that Sir Paul McCartney often plays. The double bass, or upright bass has many different names. My favorite is the doghouse bass. This bass is often used in jazz. People play this by plucking or slapping the bass. Another common use is in orchestras. People play this style with bows. This bass is the largest and lowest pitched instrument of the viol family. The viol family contain the viola, violin, fiddle, and many others. The upright bass was the inspiration of all basses. I was the first bass and probably most important because of the sparks it caused for new invention. All basses are in my opinion the most important instruments because they hold everyone together. Learning to play the bass was my pleasure and I feel its something I will use for the rest of my life. The WNE was inspired by Willie Nelson. In our first performance, we featured On The Road Again (OTRA) and it was a huge hit. OTRA was written early in 1979 on a train. Willie Nelson was studying his lines for the movie Honeysuckle Rose when the executive producer asked him to write the theme song for their movie. 35 minutes later, written on a barf bag, Willie Nelson had possibly the greatest country hit in his hands. Willie Nelson had many albums that were critical to hi success. Shotgun Willie (1973), Red Headed Stranger (1975), ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Anatomy And Physiology Of The Eye The human eye is a wonderful organ enabling us to perform all our daily tasks. The sense of sight allows to do almost all activities. There are countless activities including studying, cooking, driving, or playing an instrument. Other tasks that vision is helpful for would be communicating, working, making life a lot easier, which are very essential. Most people would agree that vision is more valuable than the rest. The eyes allow us to interpret colors and shapes. This happens after a long complex process, starting from the reflect of light on the objects to the eyes and ends up in the brain as images. • 6. Pope Francis Influence On March 13, 2013 white smoke ushered in a new era within the Roman Catholic Church. For the first time in its history, a Pope from the Americas was chosen to lead. It was expected that the newly elected American Pope, who called himself Francis after St. Francis of Assisi, would help restore the Catholic Church s reputation, reform the clerical bureaucracy, and reinvigorate Catholic participation. In the first few months of his papacy, that is exactly what he did. Pope Francis did away with ornate and rigid traditions of previous popes. He restructured core Vatican institutions such as the clerical hierarchy and the banking system, in order to drive out corruption. His messages of simplicity and mercy were engrained in unselfish gestures, such as the washing of offenders feet, (something) , and (something), that helped bring Catholics back into the fold. Essay on Ethnic Literature The Power in a Name The term ethnic when in conjunction with the word literature in the academic discourse community of students, often brings out mixed feelings of excitement and dread. On the one hand, students understand that they will be getting away from the canonical American literature which can equal boring in their eyes; on the other hand, students interpret the term ethnic literature to mean distinctive which can equal confusing or ambiguous and perhaps at times not relatable because it is outside their scope of experiences. I am interpreting this to mean that as a reader of this literature, I should see and feel throughout the story (perhaps subtlety) that in some way, the characters mindset (and perhaps actions) in the story differ from my own specifically because of the culture they have grown up in in, which has shaped that character s thinking. Argumentative Essay On Prions Proteinaceous Infectious Particles, commonly known as Prions, are extremely rare misfolds of the protein PrPc, which cause fatally neurodegenerative diseases, and are theorized to be infectious only by the protein itself (U.S National Library of Medicine, 1998). This protein only theory is still heavily debated today, as some scientists deny the theory, and there isn t a significant amount of evidence on each side to qualify the theory or disprove it (Soto, C. 2011). The base Prion protein is encoded in the gene PRNP, while being non infectious. In the early 1900 s, the Fore tribe was struck with an epidemic of Kuru, a brain eating disorder that causes shaking, and furthermore the name Kuru in the means shaking or trembling in a literal sense. The Fore spread this disease a fair bit, specifically due to their cannibalistic funeral practices of eating the remains of the dead, and specifically the brain (Bichell, Rae Ellen 2016). However, the presence of Prions have been around for eras, but the discovery in the Fore tribe spearheaded the movement to learn more about them. Eventually in 1982, the Prion protein was discovered by Stanley Prusiner, eventually earning him the Nobel Prize in 1997 for his proof of the lack of DNA or RNA in the protein, juxtaposed to bacteria and viruses (Prion Alliance, 2016). As the amount of diseases discovered increased, it became eerily known that the Prion disease in humans and animals were all caused by one original misfolded protein, PrPsc. Despite a common origin, pinning down a solution to the problems of Prions is an extremely complex issue. With an extreme resistance to everything, Prions opens the question of sanitization in hospitals. A reoccurring theme throughout this story is the battle between good and evil. Most of the novel is about the struggles each force has and how most of the time good triumphs over evil. Rising prices of cotton due to weather leads to increases costs and retail prices Designer Patrick Robinson leaves the company (loss of key staff) According to the article, Gap is facing a difficult situation as their head designer, Patrick Robinson, leaves the company. Retail analysts believe that the company needs to be downsized by closing unproductive stores, they need to make management changes, and they need improved products that are consistent with the merchandising strategies. The basic problem is that Gap s image has declined and people are starting to associate them as tired, commoditized, driven by price. Gap needs to be repositioned, and they need someone who understands the customer, that will turn the brand around. Gap s strategy is to close all stores that are underperforming in order to cut costs. They will also spend more money on advertising and marketing to a younger market and to minorities such as Hispanics, Asians, and African Americans. By doing so, they hope to acquire greater market share. They will also use new technology that will locate products online and in stores. Diameter (mm) Wire 0.12 Hair 0.085 Discussion Analysing the trends in both figures 8 and 9, it can be seen that they follow a linear path. This trend is also justified by the following equation. в–іy=Lmd This supports the statement set by the hypothesis. According to the values in table 2, it can be seen that the this method was accurately able to calculate the diameter of the wire (The wire listed in the materials list had a diameter of 0.12mm). This means it can be seen with some certainty that this method was also able to be used to accurately find the thickness of the human hair. This is further strengthened as, according to Schwarzkopf hair dictionary, the normal average thickness of a European person hair is between 0.06 0.1mm (Hair Dictionary: Important Facts about Hair, 2017). This means that the diameter of 0.085 lies comfortably in range. A number of random and systematic errors have affected the experiment. • 15. Rhetorical Analysis Of Women s Rights Activist Mary... In her book about education as a vehicle for social mobility of women in society, author, philosopher, and women s rights activist Mary Wollstonecraft uses several rhetorical devices to build her argument about women s roles in society. She uses a comparison and contrast expository mode to help people understand the modern womans experience, especially as it differs from the experience of men, appeal to pity to create an emotional connection with her audience, and restrained diction to show how confined women are in society, all through an iconoclastic and indignant tone. She compares the few tasks that civilized women are able to perform with the wide variety of tasks that men routinely perform in order to illustrate how little autonomy the modern woman has. For instance, while a male soldier can march and counter march and manipulate the senate to work for them, women do not have any of these opportunities. Men have so much more power; they govern everything that goes on outside the house, and have a lot more freedom in what they do. Even in a relationship, the man is responsible and the women is reduced to a cypher, she claims. Because of this, a good number of arguments have arose from post and publications that state someone s opinion about an issue. One of the most highly used forms of media in our world today is social media, which are websites and technological apps that enable a person or group to create their own websites and pages for a specific purpose. Social media creates a second world where people can communicate with others across the world in a matter of seconds. Whenever you have a large collection of people in the same area, each stating their argumentsand sides to something, there are going to be conflicting sides to every situation. Another way of describing the word argument is by using the words ethos, pathos, and logos. These three words are used when arguing on social media every single day. Ethos, which is the credibility and expertise that a person has on a specific topic, is used in arguments for appealing to people who are interested in their product or service. Introduction The trajectory of global politics has dramatically changed after the end the World War II and after the Berlin Wall came down in 1989. In fact, many countries around the globe became economically competitive, politically stable, and culturally optimistic. As the result, many nations started affirming themselves on the global arena while others continued to struggle internally and beyond the borders. The combinations of these factors have perhaps led to interdependency. Globalization has played a significant role in bringing nations together. In order to advance their interests, share their common experience, and overcome their weaknesses, states constantly engage in bilateral or multilateral relationships. The bilateral relationships between China and the Democratic Republic of Congo obey to these dynamic trends. He chose to set a feel for his scenes unknown , then have the actors improvise what was going to happen (Behr). Coppola also had these actors make lists of what they felt that their characters should do in different situations (Behr). This caused an effect of the script writing itself, as well as creating a deeper rift between it and the source material. Marlon Brando, who portrayed Kurtz, fed the fire of deep confusion where the script was concerned. Both Heart of Darkness, and Milius original script, as well as Coppola s later interpretation of these, called for the character of Kurtz to be a frail, sickly, and dying man. Brando, however, refused to get into shape as Coppola had requested. Brando was in fact so fat during filming that he was shy about it (Behr). Coppola first suggested that he rewrite the script to accommodate the character to Brando by setting him up as a gluttonous, man consumed by his own evil excesses (Behr). Brando refused to be undignified in his portrayal, so the filming, as well as the writing remained stagnant for days on end. In the end Coppola merely set Brando and Sheen free to improvise for three weeks, leaving him with an incoherent batch of footage that, with the exception of the death lines of The Horror! Marriage did not affect a woman s legal standing; a married woman had the same rights as a single one. This is because property did not automatically transfer over to the husband after he married a woman. Rather she remained in control of all of her assets until the day that she would die. Her land and her affairs remained hers, unaffected by her mate. In fact, a woman in ancient Egypt had the legal right to loan money to her husband. Many scenes, drawn in tombs, depict the social freedom of women. • 37. Brief Description Of Public Policy Part A: Brief description of public policy Policy refers to a distinct path of action that is suitable for the pursuit of desired goals within a particular context, directing the decision making or behavior of an organization or individual. There are three key elements of policies: problem definition, goals to be achieved, and policy instruments to address the problem and achieve the goal. The policy process is an activity of balancing different solutions that address aspects of complex problems: the policymaking is typically described as messy (CITE). Important components of the policy process include identification of a policy problem along with framing the problem for solutions (also known as policy formulation), implementation of policy strategies, and establishing outcomes for evaluation of policy effectiveness. Policies come from those who have legitimate authority to impose normative guidelines for action (i.e., elected officials). Formulation of health related policies is complex and depends on a variety of scientific, economic, social, and political forces. As a result, there is a considerable gap between what public health research shows is effective and the policies that are enacted and enforced (Brownson, Chriqui, Stamatakis, 2009). Non elected officials (i.e., practitioners) are generally required to implement the policy through programs (i.e., interventions). There are many barriers to effective policy implementation. People who go to college aren t coming out with the job that they think they deserve, which is leading to lower income, and a harder time paying off their college debt. The first part of this paper is going to be talking about how college is so over priced and why it shouldn t be so expensive. By colleges making the price of their tuition so high it is making it so that less kids are able to go to college, which makes it so that when kids come out of high school they are working at low end jobs and are having trouble making enough money to support themselves. In 1930 tuition was fairly low, and students could attend wharton Business school for $250 (best online colleges). This relates back to the thesis about how less kids are going to college because of how much money it. back in 1930 almost 70% of kids went to college. In 2013 only about 50% of high school grads are going to college. And for the 50% of kids who are going to college, most of them are coming out with huge amounts of debt that is taking them year to pay off. The beetle is invasive, harmful to native ash trees, and has the ability to spread (Kovacs et al., 2010). The invasive beetles cause destruction to ash trees in a gradual process, that usually lasts three years. The beetles initiate the attack along the upper trunk and bases of main branches and then work their way down (Winners, 2002). The adult beetles lay eggs on the ash trees bark and when they hatch, the larvae bore into the bark and feed on the transportation tissues of the tree (NCFS, 2016). Analysis Of Diving Into The Wreck A Learning Journey Adrienne Rich s poem Diving into the Wreck is a detailed piece written in free verse that discusses the emotional journey of her narrator as she sails out into sea to scuba dive and try to uncover a myth that she once read in a book. The narrator uses a detached tone while explaining her dive beneath the sea to show a constant image of lonesomeness and a clear focus of the actions of humanity. In doing so, she creates a feeling of isolation while discovering the wreck she originally came to find as well as an internal journey we soon come to find out. Going forth through the poem, the tone remains detached and becomes less intense as we read on, so us as readers never know how she is truly feeling.
