Hurtado V. California Essay
The Fourteenth Amendment prohibited deprivation of life, freedom or assets, property, without due
process and equally violate the Fifth Amendment rules that inquire no private property shall be
taken for public use without rightful recompense. CES was required to follow up with a notice and
provide an opportunity to be heard before they penalized a student. The board was supposed to
hold an entire hearing on the third offense before any expulsion, arrest, incarceration or confiscating
the student s phone permanently which they completely ignored. CES did not meet the
requirements of rulemaking principles because they have violated the Due Process of Law by

Nighthawks By Edward Hopper Meaning
Nighthawks
It is often said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Similarly, through careful analysis of a
work of art it is possible for one to more deeply understand the ideas that the artist is attempting to
express. At first glance, Edward Hopper s painting Nighthawks may just appear to be a painting of
a normal diner. However, it is only through careful analysis that it is possible to see that the
painting actually excels in creating a feeling of darkness, while at the same time portraying the
feelings of both desire and mystery in the viewer.
After looking at the painting, it is possible to conclude that the artist is trying to portray a feeling a
desire through his work. Evidence that supports this observation can be found ... Show more content

It can be inferred that the man sitting alone does not want to be bothered based on the fact that
he is sitting farther away than everyone. This begs the question of why the lone man would not
want to be bothered. Similarly, the lone man is sitting with his back facing the viewer as
opposed to having his facial features visible to us like the rest of the people in the painting. This
gives us no indication of emotion that we can use to try and figure out how the lone man is
feeling, which only strengthens the sense of mystery that he gives the viewer. The arms of the
lone man are also not visible on the counter in front of him, suggesting that his hands may be
cupped in front of his face in deep contemplation. Consequently, this leads the reader to wonder
what he is contemplating, adding to the sense of mystery. Lastly, a sense of mystery is portrayed in
the way that the waiter seems to be staring directly at the lone man. Consequently, the sense of
mystery is again strengthened by the lack of information regarding why the waiter is doing

The English Language Learner Is Defined By The Individuals...
An English language learner is defined as someone who has sufficient difficulty speaking, reading,
writing, or understanding the English language and whose difficulties may deny such individual
the opportunity to learn successfully in classrooms where the language of instruction is in English
(Ortiz, Woika, 2013, p. 2). As defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
(IDEA), a
child with a disability has mental retardation, hearing impairments (including deafness), speech or
language impairments, visual impairments (including blindness), serious emotional disturbance,
orthopedic impairments, autism, traumatic brain injury, other health impairments, or specific
learning disabilities; and who, by reason thereof, needs... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a student is both an English language learner and has a learning disability, their educational
needs become inherently more complex. However, through research on the needs of English
language learners with disabilities, on various case laws, and by participating in lectures on the
topics of English language learners and students with learning disabilities, I have come to a
clearer understanding of these unique needs as well as the processes necessary to identify,
evaluate, and work with these students. Prior to the 1960s, both English language learners and
students with disabilities were often segregated from their peers, given inadequate instruction, and
inappropriately assessed (Ortiz, Woika, 2013). This began to change when, with the holding of
Brown vs. board of Education (1954), a principle for equal educational opportunities for all
students was brought to fruition (Yell, 1998). After this decision, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act
in 1964 prohibited the discrimination of people on the basis of race, color, or national origin in the
operation of federally assisted programs. Further, to

Finding Truth And Finding Peace
This past week we read some very different articles in terms of what they were witnesses to. To
me a witness is someone who tells a story in hopes of finding truth and finding peace. A witness
mean someone who is willing to listen to people tell theirs stories and continue to tell those stories
when other people are no longer able to. While visiting the AfricaBurial Grounds going through the
different exhibits, I came across a quote that I believe describes in perfect detail what a witnessis. I
m for truth no matter who tells it, I m for justice no matter who it is for or against. I m a human
being first and foremost, and as such I m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity (Malcolm
X). I believe that a witness s job is to tell the truth regardless of whom that truth will affect. We as
people have the obligation to other human beings to be just and tell their stories, and fight for them
when they are not able to. While visit the African Burial Grounds I considered my self to be
witness what these people went through. Throughout the museum there were different stories that
depicted tremendous suffering. There was a particular picture that stood out to me and it was of
when African Americans were taken from Africa to be transported to the United States. The
picture showed African Americans being thrown over board because they were dead, sick, or
about to die. In that instance I considered my self a witness because learning about the slave trade

Asylum Seekers In Australia Essay
Asylum seekers are people who have left their home country to find asylum in another country as a
political refugee. Now in Australia, asylum seekers are being forced to detention centres by the
Australian government. Citizens of the Australian community are deciding whether asylum seekers
should be allowed to become residents in Australia. Asylum seekers should be given asylum in
Australia because they have not committed any crimes and Australia takes a minimum number of
asylum seekers in a year compared to other underdeveloped countries. Furthermore, asylum seekers
have greatly contributed to the Australian society.
The Australian government had signed The Refugee convention but are now not following the
fundamental articles in the convention. The Refugee convention is a series of articles that state
how to treat and help refugees and asylum seekers. Article 31 of the Refugee convention clearly
states that refugees should not be penalised for arriving without valid travel documents and how
they arrive at the country i.e by boat. If the person is seeking asylum, the action is not considered
illegal. Asylum seekers may not be able to obtain the travel documents because they do not have the

The Building Blocks Of Learning
Emily Whitmer Rose Glasser EDTP 201 10/28/16 Ethnography: The Building Blocks of
Learning I remember my first day going to a school to observe. It felt more inquiring, rather than
being obligated to go to school just because I had to, like the state required us to. Ever since I
have been given two field placements, I have been increasingly interested in the teaching
profession. My first field placement has been an eye opener for all other rolls in a school. It has
showed me just how important other rolls are in a school, and how they can affect and tie into how
a student does in a classroom. Having two field placements has given me a new outlook on the
classroom environment, curriculum, and what goes on behind the scenes in the teaching
profession. In my second field placement, which is what this ethnography will evolve around, I was
placed at Blue Lick Elementary School (right next to Knight Middle School). Blue Lick Elementary
School collaborates with Knight Middle School, to ease the transition to 6th grade. This school is
located in Heritage Creek, which is also close to my first placement, Fairdale High School. The
population in this neighborhood is low income. There are 480 students and the student teacher
ratio is 16:1. Blue Lick Elementary School is a public co ed school and accepts grades pre

Meredith Grey is one of the main characters on the show Grey s Anatomy. The show trails
Meredith s life over eleven thrilling seasons, exposing her relationships, family affairs, and love
interests. The show also shows Meredith s unique ability to work in a variety of different situations
with a variety of different people. Meredith Grey is daughter to Ellis and Thatcher Grey (or so we
think). She was born and raised in Seattle where the show is primarily based. Seattle is also
home to Seattle Grace Hospital a place where lives are constantly put on the line, and thinking on
your feet comes with the territory. Seattle Grace was also where Meredith s mother completed her
surgical residency. With that said, after taking some time and deciding what she wanted to pursue
in terms of a career, Meredith ultimately decides to go to medical school, and follow in her

regulations on their economy and the lives of the Sherpas who make the climb possible, these
regulations will make climbing Everest safer for everyone, reduce fatalities and environmental
effects, and maintain the glory of the climb. Certainly, climbing Mount Everest is one of the most
well known and glorified achievements anyone can accomplish. If a man is talking to a group of

The Terms Of A Contract
The terms of a contract refer to the obligations of the parties entering into the contract. These terms
are the contents of the contract, which determine the parties rights and obligations. Consequently,
the law classifies the terms in two ways. Firstly, the law can look at the terms according to the
consequences of breach involving the nature of each term as a condition, warranty or innominate.
Secondly, they may investigate the method through which the terms got into the contract,
explicitly or implicitly. Courts have the option to examine these two methods to reach an
understanding of the obligations of each party in the contract breached by one party. In reference
to the first method, this essay will focus on the ability of implicit terms to enter into a contract.
An implicit term is not expressly agreed to by the parties, but nevertheless are either read into the
contract or arise from other sources of law. To clarify, parties may not have expressly included the
term due to forgetfulness, previous contract with the party or because it may have been obvious
due to the parties presence in the same trade. If the parties do not include a term, the court can
imply a term for business efficacy. This is done in order to make a contract work. Accordingly, the
court aims to make valid the intention of the parties. The Moorcock (1889) involved a term not
included, but of such an obvious nature that the parties did not think to include it in the contractual
terms. Subsequently,

Chrysler Pacifica
The Chrysler Town Country is gone, replaced by the all new Pacifica minivan.
The Chrysler minivan is back. Not that it ever left, but the previous models were overshadowed

It has a 1,675 pound payload and provides 3,600 pounds of towing capacity when properly

combined 22 mpg.
The V 6 engine is aptly suited for this vehicle. It is the same engine FCA uses to power such
models as the Ram 1500, Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the Dodge Charger. No boosting is necessary
just step on the gas pedal and the engine roars to life. I m sure some of the rumbling emanating
from the exhaust system is artificial, but at least the performance is there to back it up as the
minivan climbs to highway speed quickly and without hesitation.
How would the Pacifica perform with a full payload and pushing the minivan to its 3,600 pound
towing capacity? I never found out as four was the maximum number of people carried at any
time and I had nothing to tow. But at least the capacity is there and it gives customers something to
consider that isn t a crossover (Dodge Durango) or a pickup truck (Ram 1500).
The 2017 Pacifica rides quietly and road noise is minimal. On the noise, vibration, and harshness
(NVH) scale, this vehicle gets high marks thanks in part to its standard active noise cancellation
technology. It also scores well in the handling, steering, and braking

Squat Rack Research Paper
Sitting directly in front of me, the squat rack looked ominous and much like a torture cage. NaГЇve
16 year old me approached the rack the way a cat approaches a vacuum cleaner terrified, but
insanely curious.
Squats were introduced to me during weight training practices for high school soccer. Our coaches
valued the importance of muscle AND agility training, so naturally we spent a lot of time in the

Needless to say, the concept of a squat rack was taught to me early in life, but before the hoopla

First, according to a Fit Day article, squat exercises are great for a total lower body workout. Not
only does this exercise target the gluteus muscles, but it also tones the legs, strengthens the core,
increases flexibility and with added weight, engages the upper body.
In general, it s a good idea to look over proper form before beginning this exercise. To start, a
squat rack and barbell is needed. Most gyms will have a squat rack, but some may have attached
racks, called Smith Machines. Several exercise science majors (and that Body Builder article) in
my friend group don t recommend these racks, partly because they don t allow for users to find
their center/balance and they place a lot of pressure on the knees.
Regardless, there are various ways to do squat exercises, but I prefer detached barbell racks. In
that case, according to a Workout Labs article, you ll want to set the barbell on the rack as the
same height as your upper chest. Then position your body under the bar while bending your knees
slightly. At this point, the barbell should be resting on your shoulders, but avoid placing it on the

Chipotle s main focus in marketing is in the United States but follows the same model in the

How Does Shakespeare Present The Theme Of Isolation
heme of Isolation through their use of form, structure and language and show how The Outsider has
illuminated this.
Julian Barnes postmodern, Booker prize award winning novel The Sense of an Ending (2011),
William Shakespeare s Sonnets (1609) and Albert Camus The Outsider(1942) all present the central
theme of the isolation that, given circumstance, any individual can be subjected to. Barnes presents
this theme of isolation through the retrospective voice of Barnes first person narrator Tony Webster,
who by the conclusion of the novel has managed to agitate and isolate himself from those who he
once knew well. Similarly, Shakespeare s sonnet series demonstrates a gripping narrative of a love
triangle; an intimate tale of the fair youth ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When she ends up ends up copulating with Tony soon after their breakup, she may have meant
for it to be one last attempt to express her love for Tony, but Tony interpreted this action as some
form of manipulation from Veronica. The ambiguousness of the pronoun it connotes that there
could be more that there be more for Barnes creation, Tony Webster, to get than the concluding
part of the novel. Perhaps Tony fails to comprehend the increased social status of women in
2011. It could be argued that Tony has become accustomed to the idea of the 1960s woman,
which is suggested by his brief affair with Annie which reflects the sexual revolution of the
1960s in which women were seen as sexual objects rather than the independent gender which
they are today. The dwelling of his past, of the 60s, has led to the deterioration of his
relationships with the other women in the novel as in 2011 women have gained much more
independence since the 1960s. Margaret, the woman who Tony married, stood by his side at first
but abruptly left him on his own now after she noted his obsession for Adrian. This could explain
why the latter part of the novel focuses on the aftermath of Adrian s suicide, an event which
occurred when Tony was in his 20s as Tony s obsession

Multi Organizational And Inter Sector Coordination
Abstract: Coordination is when all or multiple agencies interact to achieve a common goal. The
value of agencies coordinating is key to overcome disasters more effectively. The main purpose of
multi organizational, intergovernmental, and inter sector coordination is to get better relationships
between agencies and to use resources wisely. The key for coordination to be achieved is when all
agencies or organizations have pre disaster ties, share accurate information in a timely manner, and
work together to meet the needs of emergency management.

Purpose and Benefits of Coordination
The participation of diverse parties ensures access to important information, resources, and skills.
The emergency managers have to tasks. The tasks is the routine responsibilities of running a
department and the broader job of mustering the necessary political support to effect change
(Waugh, 2007, p. 58). The purpose of multi organizational, intergovernmental, and inter sector
coordination in emergency management is to help smooth the steps during disasters whether they
are small or large.
For instance, one example of the purpose and benefits of multi organizational, intergovernmental,
and inter sector coordination in emergency management is the theory of intergovernmental. The
intergovernmental theory suggests that local governments should make and effort before and after
disasters occur because this can help minimize the situation by strains that inhibit integrated
policymaking and discourage coordinated disaster management.
If the intergovernmental theory is used the efforts could have conflict resolution, role clarification,
joint planning and training, mutual aid agreements, memorandums of understanding, and the
establishment of interoperable communications systems (Waugh, 2007, p. 59). The main purpose of

Things to Ponder
It has been observed that the company is violating the principle of control activity of segregation of
duties. The accountant is acting as the treasurer and controller. In this dual role, he purchases all of
the supplies and pays for these purchases. He also receives the checks and completes the monthly
bank reconciliation. Various frauds are possible when one person handles related activities. These
duties must be segregated to multiple personnel.
Use of the three principles of internal control segregation of record keeping from physical custody,
documentation and independent internal verification is recommended. This will deliver an
effective system of internal controls. Any attempt at fraudulent activity will be detected unless
there is collusion among the employees.
Internal controls over cash receipts should include:
(a)designating only personnel such as cashiers to handle cash;
(b)assigning the duties of receiving cash, recording cash, and having custody of cash to different
individuals;
(c)obtaining remittance advices for mail receipts, cash register tapes for over the counter receipts,
and deposit slips for bank deposits;
(d)using company safes and bank vaults to store cash with access limited to authorized personnel,
and using cash registers in executing over the counter receipts;

One of those misconceptions are that southern people are stupid because of the way they talk. Jeff

stupid. For example, the word mayonnaise is used like Mayonnaise a lot of people here tonight.
He also uses the word innuendo, and some Southerners may say Hey dude. I saw a bird fly

Racism In Trethewey s Native Guard
In Trethewey s Native Guard, graves symbolize of the futility of mankind s efforts to conceal its
evils, and of failure to combat the racist system put in place by white America. For years,
Trethewey s mother fought to protect her daughter from the hatred and prejudice in America.
Her protest against the hatred of America was snuffed out by abusive partners and the nascent
racism of America. In the poem Graveyard Blues, she describes the atmosphere of the graveyard
as blues y and dreary. She wander[s] now among names of the dead: My mother s name, stone

states that there are no names carved for the Native Guards 2nd Regiment, Union men, black
phalanx. What is monument to their legacy? They receive no honorable grave. They receive the
most barbaric of burial rites, doomed to have fish dart among their bones. The bodies of the native
guard are cast out of sight into the ocean, neglected in an attempt to forget the evils committed
against them. Their forgotten and neglected grave symbolizes the futility of fighting against the

Humanistic Approach
Comparing and analyzing the biological and humanistic approaches to personality can be a
difference of opinions. Abraham Maslow studied the development of personality. Maslow
developed his own personality theory based on the basic human needs. His hierarchy of needs

There are biological factors that influence the formation of individual personality that play a factor.

According to Maslow, the biological factors are important to the personality theory.
Physiological and biological needs in conjunction depend upon the same things. Physiological
needs are the very basic needs such as air, water, food, sleep, sex, etc. When these are not
satisfied people may feel sickness, irritation, pain, discomfort, etc. These feelings motivate
people to focus on alleviating them as soon as possible to establish homeostasis. Once the
feelings are alleviated, people may think about other things. The body needs are biological and
consists of the needs for air, food, water and a temperature range as do the physiological needs.
These needs can be very strong because if deprived over time, the person will die. The
relationship of the biological factors to personality is important because an individual is ready to
act upon the growth needs if and only if the deficiency needs are met. When the needs are met
people attempt to get more accomplished, therefore causing them to generate their very own
personality traits. Looking at the basic aspects of humanistic theory, it is somewhat incompatible
with the biological explanations of personality. According to the biological explanation of
personality, the general idea of Maslow s hierarchy is that everyone is born with specific needs. If
people do not meet those base needs, they are unable to

Failure of the Revolution in Animal Farm Essays

beginning of the revolution, which made it a success, but in the end the revolution was a failure.
The farm, in many ways, was very prosperous when the revolution began. The animals were given
an education, the reading and writing classes were however a great success, which made them
feel equal to the humans because they were now learning in the same way the humans did. The

bosses, no more Jones, and worked for themselves. Since they were now motivated, they worked
harder, worked according to their own capacity, thus the amount of food they received increased
since they did not have to sell it.
This all went very well for a while, but the revolution then took a drastic downfall. The animal s
freedom and individuality was slowly taken away. Napoleon took the dogs freedom away by
making them bow, and obey him only. The animals also began to have no freedom of speech,
raised their voices timidly but they were promptly silent by a tremendous growling, which shows
us that the farm was no longer run by all the animals but rather by the pigs, anything they say is
right and you may not argue. The animals no all had to be the same, which can be taken as
equality, but it was taken to the extreme. The animals had to call each other, comrade, and they
weren t even allowed to stick out in the smallest ways, Molly s ribbons were taken, which was fine
at first but then slowly the animals started forgetting who they were.

How Does Golding Use Ethos In Lord Of The Flies
In The Lord if the Flies, by William Golding, Ralph and Jack are two of the boys that are
stranded on the island, due to an airplane crash. These two boys evolve into the two leaders of the
group, with Jack assuming control after the boys are dissatisfied with Ralph. Ralph tends to use
logos and Jack relies on ethos. Ralph s use of logos is shown throughout the novel, and how he
logically plans out all of his decisions, considering all the benefits and detriments to each choice.
Jack mainly uses pathos, and all of his decisions are based on his feelings in the moment, making
him very emotional. They both use a variety of ethos, pathos, and logos in their ultimate goal of

A Study On Fish Pass
CHAPTER 2
INTRODUCTION
2.1 General
Fish pass [2] is a hydraulic structure which is generally built on or around on obstructions like
dams, barrages, weirs, or navigation locks in order to facilitate the natural migration of the
fishes. Generally fishways consists of a series of small steps on which the water flows so that
the fishes can swim and pass around the obstruction. The working principle of a fishway is
attraction of the migrating species to a particular location in the river which is on the downstream
side of the obstruction and then enables them to pass upstream. In order to achieve it, either a
waterway is opened or the migrating species are entrapped in a tank and then lifted upstream.
Figure 3.1: Schematic diagram of a rock ramp fishway [11]
The effectiveness of fish pass is the ease with which the entrance to it can be located and how
easily the migrating species can cross it without stress or injury in minimum time. The behaviour
of the migrating species plays an important role in the design of the fishways. The performance of
the fish passes is dependent on the water velocities and the pattern of flow through it. The water
velocity in fish passes must be compatible with the swimming capabilities of the species for which
it is designed.

The Role Of Aristocratic Women In The Tudor Period
When looking at much of Tudor History especially at the earlier reigns of Henry VII and his
successor Henry VIII many historians have neglected to explore the agency of women in this
period. More specifically the agency of women in the aristocracy is something that can be heavily
debated. Aristocratic women in the Tudor period while often presented as side actors who get acted
upon are were actually dynamic individuals who forged their own paths. When looking at these
women it is important to analyze it in terms of their religion, family, and social position.
Through much of my research I found that these dynamic women had complex motives and
reasoning behind most of their actions. It is also important to note that many of these women
who did not always have the agency they wanted were being constrained by either their wealth,
family, or social position. The day to day and struggles of an aristocratic women s early life
greatly deferred from those of the more common women and for this reason the case of their
agency is wholly different.
When analyzing the autonomy of aristocratic women of the Tudor period it is impossible to
overlook Anne Boleyn and her rise and fall to power. It is important to analyze how her family the
Boleyn s as well as the Howards shaped her life but also the way she shaped theirs. Some
historians say that you can t look at Anne as an example as the agency of an aristocratic women
because she was queen of England. This is not necessarily true as she

Analysis Of August Wilson s Fences
In today s society people have to deal with several issues that we can t explain. For some of us
we built fences to isolate ourselves from others or in some cases to protect ourselves. No matter
what the issue is we, all have to struggle to be able to provide for our families. As a child I built
fences when it came to my feelings. For example, growing up I was in the chunky side. Since I
wasnt so skinny like the pretty girls in my class. I kinda isolated my self from the other students.
That way my feelings wouldn t get hurt. My fence was to protect me from what I thought was
going to hurt me. Well the same thing happened to Troy Maxson. In the play, Fences written by the
well known playwright, August Wilson, is the story of Troy Maxson and his beloved family.
Throughout the whole entire play, a fence is being built around the Maxson household. As the
story unfolds to the viewers, the word fences may look like a simple title, but the truth is it has
different symbolic meaning. The real definition of the word fence is revealed along with the
personalities of the characters in the play. In Fences , August Wilson uses different types of fences
as a metaphor to explain how these people live.
Our play takes place during the year 1957. During the mid 1950s, America was still experiencing
a post World War II, economic boom, and of course allowing foreign affairs to take action when

The Civil War And The Reconstruction Period Essay
Introduction: American Industrialization emerged from the ruins of the Civil War and the ... of the
Reconstruction Period. Spurred by the new manufacturing technologies brought over from Great
Britain, and the rest of Europe, factories and mills began emerging across the American landscape,
slowly transforming the United States from an agrarian society to one increasingly industrialized
and urbanized. From 1860 1900, the nation of rural towns, local crafts, family farms, and regional
business, became dominated by sprawling cities, enormous commercial farms and powerful
corporations. By the turn of the twentieth century, the United States of America, had become a
major power base, with the birth of factories and mills, the burgeoning of cities, the continued
westward expansion, and the creation of the transcontinental railroad. However, just as America
was welcomed into her glory, the country was riddled with the evils of poverty, mass consumerism,
labour disruption, and increasing political, cultural, and environmental conflicts. Prior to 1860,
America was a geographically isolated society, however with the advent of the transcontinental
railroad, America became interconnected. In 1861, Congress authorized the joining of the Central
Pacific and Union Pacific railways. The Irish immigrants, and Southern African Americans of the

engages everyone within her social network, making a holistic assessment of the situation. It
will help form and maintain relationships with all involved and create trust with open
discussions; in the aim it will ease friction between Sharon and her mother with regards to
possible conflict over Sharon s choices, wants and needs. (Coulshed and Orme, 2006). However
due to organisational policies and procedures, the use of both the questioning model and
procedural model can be unavoidable. Workers are trained to be needs led, but agencies seem to
be risk and resource led . (Milner and O Byrne, 2001, p. 261). On the other hand, the questioning
model has roots in psychosocial therapy were congruence, empathy and unconditional positive
regard are key elements and this ethos is also a main factor of the exchange model. The
procedure model has positive aspects in that the format is clear for both the service user and
social worker. This format, adopted at the same time as the exchange model, enables the service

review her own pay practice to help determine the budget of the company. Once this is completed,
she must determine the definition and description of each job, which is later used to advertise the
position during the hiring process. A proper description of each position allows for the applicants
to understand what they are applying for. Employees also know what is expected of them after
reading the job description. It is also important to track the competition. Salaries will vary by

Radical Feminist Analysis
This paper will analyze, the bill dubbed as the slapping law , in Russia. Using the perspective of
Radical Feminist Thought, I argue that such violence is normalized through the lack of current
public resistance to this crime and contends that women themselves begin to see this type of
treatment as acceptable. Structurally, this paper will begin by providing a concise summary of the
values of Radical feminismto give clarification on the standpoint of this feminist position in
analysis of the current event. It will describe the history of criminalizing domestic violence; how
liberal and radical feminist views differ in looking at the private/public and how popular
understanding of domestic violence has shifted significantly over the years... Show more content on

Any society that is committed to equality between the sexes must then be particularly responsive
to crimes that are based on sex or gender. It is that radical feminist theory has impacted society on
both the micro and the macro level, resulting women s movement for equality in bringing social
changes impacting the responses to domestic violence issues. Our popular understanding and legal
approach to domestic violence has shifted dramatically throughout the years. There has been a shift
from the private response, where domestic violence was considered a product of relationship
dysfunction, to a fully public campaign in which the state takes the lead in combating domestic
violence through arrest and prosecution of abusers. This shift, I have argued, reflects a radical
feminist understanding of domestic violence as patriarchal force and was informed by earlier
radical feminist theorizing on

Difference Between Traditional Students And Adult Learners
Title There are more adult learners attending college than there were two decades ago, and it is
expected to grow and double the rate compared to traditional students by 2021 (Woods Frogge,
2017). Adult learners have different needs and expectations from their education (O Toole Essex,
2012). It is important for higher educationinstitutions to understand the differences between
traditional students and adult learners learningstyles. Educators should include adult learning
theories in their curriculum to meet the needs of these students. (76 words)
Difference Between Traditional Students and Adult Learners: Adult learners have a higher
internal motivation to learn, and they find an internal reward value for learning (Woods Frogge,
2017). Adult learners want to achieve the learning objectives and to learn new skills, and
traditional students are more focused on the grade that is earned (Woods Frogge, 2017). Since
adult learners work full time and raise a family, they want a flexible schedule with their education
courses (Woods Frogge, 2017). Adult learners have a higher commitment to their studies compared
to traditional students (Woods Frogge, 2017). Adult learners have a real life work experience that
they want to relate to their education (Woods Frogge, 2017). Adult learners have better time
management skills compared to traditional students (Woods Frogge, 2017) and are more self
directed learners (Merriam Bierema, 2014). Adult learners want to know

Components Of Integrated Project Delivery
What is Integrated Project Design?
There are many different business structures in place which businesses around the world are using
today. One of these business structures, used in the design and construction industry, is called
Integrated Project Delivery. Integrated Project Delivery is a business style which incorporates all
aspects of design throughout the entire design process. This includes, but is not limited to, all
participants, business coordination s, and business systems, and the way they interact with the
specialties of the participants, in turn producing fluidity within the design and a highly effective
final product. The main players within IPD are owners, architect, contractors, designers, sub
contractors, consultants and suppliers.
Collaboration is key within Integrated Project Delivery (4). In order to create this type of building
structure all parties involved must be willing to collaborate. When this happens the result creates an
open, shared business model where no information is hidden or lost in communication. This lessens
the instance of becoming fragmented and disconnected. Early involvement of all participants from
owner to supplier produces a mutual understanding of the goal and outcome of the design and
leaves everyone with an equal understanding of the project. At this point in IPD mutual trust can be
gained as well as mutual benefit while understanding everyone s role in the process. Team building
is another major part of IPD. Under each main

The Slave Ship Joseph Turner Analysis
Joseph Turner was an English Romantic painter known for his vibrant colors and display of
paintings. Through taking strong brushstrokes and using a large assortment of colors, he was
able to move audiences and effectively convey his messages. He focused on showing the
powerful side of art and was inspired by the power of nature. He combined these two themes in
many of his paintings. Another large theme for him was slavery, as he saw it as a human
injustice. He then painted this message for the world to see. This use of art changed the style of
art within the Romantic movement and the Romantic movement overall in a drastic manner.
Joseph Turner was born on April 23 1775 in Covent, England. He grew and was quickly seen as a

In the painting, one can see a ship sail away in the distance against the backdrop of a bloodred
sky that matches the red masts of the ship. The sails of the ship are not unfurled, indicating the
ship is preparing for heading into a storm. As one looks to the nearer foreground, one may see
the many outlines of bodies floating in the sea. The dark skin and shackles indicate that these
are the overthrown bodies of slaves. Upon closer inspection, one may see fish, and other sea
creatures, being lured into the scene, possibly to eat the slaves. Turner bases this painting off of
the tragedy that occurred on the slave ship Zong where 133 slaves were ordered to be thrown
overboard as to collect insurance for the captain. This shows the brutal nature of slavery and
Turner s opinion of the practice. The scene s vibrant and moody coloring conveys an emotion of
sadness and injustice to the viewer. It depicts the brutal abandonment of the slaves and the view
that slaves were seen as worthless. It humanizes the slaves and shows their suffering and how they
were forgotten, and attempts to pierce into the viewer s heart to spur action over the

Competitive Sports Persuasive Essay
While many people believe that competitive sports should be banned from schools and from kids
in general, my belief is that they have a largely outweighing positive impact. There are a few
reasons that I believe so, the first of which is that they help unfit and obese children to begin
living a healthy lifestyle, and also motivates them to do so. Another reason I think competitive
sports should be allowed among kids is that they make you more confident and highers your self
esteem. Thirdly, I believe so because with all of the work that the kids are doing at school, they
need some way of having fun with their friends, and in my opinion, one of the best ways to do that
is by playing a competitive sport. Competitive sports should be available to children to play.
Today, over 17% of American children are obese, and when competitive sports come into play,
children start getting motivated to lose weight and eat healthier, especially when their friends are
participating in the sport with them. However, a lot of the time, children that aren t highly skilled
get criticised by their teammates and coaches, but most of the time, that only make them want to
prove themselves further, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Have fun. Enjoy the game. Most schools in the U.S. have a school day that last six to eight hours,
and students come home, tired, and don t have a chance to get active the rest of the day, so,
competitive sports are the way to go. Dr. Gibson continues to mention that, If you have trouble
getting to the gym, there may be more incentive to show up and play if you know your coaches or
teammates depend on you. When friends get together on a team and play a game with another
group of friends, it s much more fun than, say, going to the gym. Plus, it s a much healthier option
than sitting at home all day watching TV or playing video games. Competitive sports are meant for

A Religious View on Same-sex Marriage Essay
A Religious View on Same sex Marriage
The United States is a country built on a number of ideals and institutions. The moral structure of
many Americans today was developed by our ancestors and the founders of this nation through the
institutions that were a part of their lives. Family, religion, marriage, equality, and justice are just a
few examples of the important components that provide a moral basis for our country. If any of
these elements were to become too mutated, the effects on society could be devastating. Right now
in the United States, one of these building blocks of society is being threatened by the possibility of
a negative transformation. The building block of marriage as the sacred ... Show more content on

According to a Pew Poll, most religious communities believe same sex marriage and even
homosexuality in general are morally wrong and do not follow their religious beliefs (Waldman,
2003). There is no major religion in the world that has ever altered the definition of marriage to
include same sex couples (Barlow, 2003). In general, it can be said that many religious people have
strong views on same sex marriage, declaring it wrong because of their religious beliefs.
There are two main reasons why many religious groups are against same sex marriage. The first
argument is that people who are gay are not able to procreate. They do not have the correct
corresponding body parts to make children (Waldman, 2003). Anyone who has taken sex
education knows that humans can not reproduce without a male s sperm and a female s egg.
Roman Catholics believe God created marriage as a lifetime union between one woman and one
man with the purpose of having a loving relationship and for procreating, caring for, and teaching
children (Charron Skylstad, 1996). Sex that does not occur with the intent of procreation is not
approved by many faiths. In Judaism, for example, there is an important Bible passage that
supports this idea. The story of Onan is about Onan sleeping with his dead brother s wife. In order
to prevent having children, Onan does not ejaculate inside of his brother s wife. Instead he
ejaculated on the ground. Because

It will influence the future generations to why we consider environment has been important, create
opportunities for generation to come, a culture that can be passed on and sense of appreciation of
such an experience (Singer, 2011). This point may not so readily apply to a wider consequentialist
approach, which attributes intrinsic value not only to pleasure or satisfaction, but also to various
objects and processes in the natural environment (Singer, 2011).
John Rawls states that the principle of fairness is important as it applies to individuals the
principle of fairness are a link between the two principles of social or political justice and
individual obligations to comply with specific social practices (Pogge, 2007). By expanding the
scope of what one considers to be an end to include both aspects of nature as well as future
generations, one can transform the implications of Rawls theory (Pogge, 2007). Rawls advances
his theory of justice through what is called the Original Position which is a hypothetical situation
in which all individuals are granted perfect equality and are asked to choose a principle of justice
behind a veil of ignorance, which eliminates their biases (Pogge, 2007). The hypothetical persons
in the Original Position, ignorant of who and what they will be in society and perfectly equal to
one another, are able to truly come to a consensus as to what a just society would be (Pogge, 2007).

The Challenges Of Domestic Violence Essay
MILLERSBURG Every other year, the gardens of Holmes County become inspirations for novice

The Holmes County Friends and Neighbors of OneEighty Supporting Victims of Domestic Violence
will continue its effort to provide crisis intervention, treatment, counseling, prevention and support
for those affected by domestic violence, when it raises money by presenting its biennial Garden

The gardens selected this year are located in south central Holmes County, at the homes of Ruston
Baker and Claudia Rozuk, 1769 County Road 150, Millersburg and 1665 County Road 150,
Millersburg; David and Leona Hershberger, 2143 Township Road 112, Millersburg; and Gayle

Money generated by the tour helps to support operations in Wayne and Holmes counties. A full time
advocate staffs an office in Millersburg, where counselors also meet with men, woman and children.
It s the seventh year for the biennial garden tour in Holmes County, according to event chairwoman
Eleanor Runyon, noting, after so many years one or two gardeners volunteer to be on the garden
tour, which makes organizing the tour easier.
The amount of work the gardeners do to get ready is staggering, but well worth the effort

the conscience or super ego in Civilization and Its Discontents. How does Freud explain and

interaction between Virgil and Dante and compare closely with Freud s discussion of the psychical

However, According to Freud, the super ego exists as a way to level out the ego, and, in a way,
keep it in check. Therefore, the super ego is responsible for an individual s conscience, or, their
ability to feel guilt. Freud continues his explanation of these concepts by asserting the idea that the
super ego calls our attention to our own failures and misconducts, and attempts to assist us in
learning from them in order to avoid making similar mistakes in the future. Furthermore, the
conscience is the form in which the super ego controls our actions and thoughts, and creates guilt
within us. Therefore, the ego is the decision making, acting part of an individual, while the super
ego acts as the ego s voice of authority and control (Freud).
Moreover, the relationship between the characters of Dante and Virgil in Dante s Inferno stands as
an excellent example of the relationship between the ego and the super ego. In the opening of the
poem, the character of Dante finds himself lost in a place he does not know, surrounded by
terrifying beasts. In this dark moment, Virgil, a ghost from an earlier time, comes forwards and
reveals to Dante that, because sin has obstructed his path to God, he must journey through hell and
purgatory in order to return to life, as he once knew it. This journey, according to Virgil, would
allow Dante to overcome his sin and, at last, find God s love. However, Dante does not believe he
can complete the journey alone, at which point Virgil

Effects Of Poe s Single Effect On The Black Cat
Edgar Allen Poe has many standards that helped lay the ground work to his single effect of a
short story. He thought short stories ought to be able to be read at one sitting. This allows the
reader to get the entire effect of the story at one time, rather than having to stop reading the story
and having to recapture the feeling of the story after returning. In writing, he attempted to try to and
capture a unifying emotion; the emotion of horror. He felt that the effect of the story should be
obvious to everyone who reads the story. Poe s single effect was attended to show human behavior;
to see how human reactions would be if these stories actually occurred.

animals. Poe states, This peculiarity of character grew with my growth, and, in my manhood, I

insanity the narrator experienced at a very young age. He goes on to explain that he and his wife
have many domesticated animals, including Pluto, a large beautiful black cat. He describes the
mutual fondness between him and the cat. This relationship between him and the cat, is strange.
For years they have a growing friendship, until he started drinking alcohol in excess. The narrator
goes on to explain how one night after getting completely intoxicated, the cat panicked and bit
him. This causes the author to become angry and in a psychotic fit of rage, he takes a knife and
cuts out one of the cat s eyes. After this encounter, the cat fears him, and tries to avoid him at all
cost. In the beginning, the storyteller is regretful and feels remorseful for the cruelty. But soon we

How Does Sappho Present The Theme Of Love In Lyric Poetry
Lyric poetry flourished during Greece s Archaic Age. This was a time of rebirth for Greece.
Literacy shifted from epics to lyric poetry as a result encouragement for a variety of voices to be

mostly their personal thoughts. In Greece, Sappho was unquestionably the finest composer of
lyric poetry. Sappho s poems were intimate. Love was always the evident theme. In I the ever
present theme of love is very evident. Sappho lists things that people believe to be the most
beautiful things on earth, array of horsemen / and others of marching men / and others of ships
(line 2 3). However, she does not hold these things to have more beauty over the others. She
believes that beauty has a different meaning to everyone. She uses Helen, daughter of Zeus, for an

During investigating a crime scene there is very important databases that can help make or break a

The first database NIBIN was created in 1999 and as of right now is the only database that

  • 2. Hurtado V. California Essay The Fourteenth Amendment prohibited deprivation of life, freedom or assets, property, without due process and equally violate the Fifth Amendment rules that inquire no private property shall be taken for public use without rightful recompense. CES was required to follow up with a notice and provide an opportunity to be heard before they penalized a student. The board was supposed to hold an entire hearing on the third offense before any expulsion, arrest, incarceration or confiscating the student s phone permanently which they completely ignored. CES did not meet the requirements of rulemaking principles because they have violated the Due Process of Law by unilaterally decided that minors are not fit to represent themselves at a hearing. • 3. Nighthawks By Edward Hopper Meaning Nighthawks It is often said that a picture is worth a thousand words. Similarly, through careful analysis of a work of art it is possible for one to more deeply understand the ideas that the artist is attempting to express. At first glance, Edward Hopper s painting Nighthawks may just appear to be a painting of a normal diner. However, it is only through careful analysis that it is possible to see that the painting actually excels in creating a feeling of darkness, while at the same time portraying the feelings of both desire and mystery in the viewer. After looking at the painting, it is possible to conclude that the artist is trying to portray a feeling a desire through his work. Evidence that supports this observation can be found ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It can be inferred that the man sitting alone does not want to be bothered based on the fact that he is sitting farther away than everyone. This begs the question of why the lone man would not want to be bothered. Similarly, the lone man is sitting with his back facing the viewer as opposed to having his facial features visible to us like the rest of the people in the painting. This gives us no indication of emotion that we can use to try and figure out how the lone man is feeling, which only strengthens the sense of mystery that he gives the viewer. The arms of the lone man are also not visible on the counter in front of him, suggesting that his hands may be cupped in front of his face in deep contemplation. Consequently, this leads the reader to wonder what he is contemplating, adding to the sense of mystery. Lastly, a sense of mystery is portrayed in the way that the waiter seems to be staring directly at the lone man. Consequently, the sense of mystery is again strengthened by the lack of information regarding why the waiter is doing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The English Language Learner Is Defined By The Individuals... An English language learner is defined as someone who has sufficient difficulty speaking, reading, writing, or understanding the English language and whose difficulties may deny such individual the opportunity to learn successfully in classrooms where the language of instruction is in English (Ortiz, Woika, 2013, p. 2). As defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), a child with a disability has mental retardation, hearing impairments (including deafness), speech or language impairments, visual impairments (including blindness), serious emotional disturbance, orthopedic impairments, autism, traumatic brain injury, other health impairments, or specific learning disabilities; and who, by reason thereof, needs... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If a student is both an English language learner and has a learning disability, their educational needs become inherently more complex. However, through research on the needs of English language learners with disabilities, on various case laws, and by participating in lectures on the topics of English language learners and students with learning disabilities, I have come to a clearer understanding of these unique needs as well as the processes necessary to identify, evaluate, and work with these students. Prior to the 1960s, both English language learners and students with disabilities were often segregated from their peers, given inadequate instruction, and inappropriately assessed (Ortiz, Woika, 2013). This began to change when, with the holding of Brown vs. board of Education (1954), a principle for equal educational opportunities for all students was brought to fruition (Yell, 1998). After this decision, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act in 1964 prohibited the discrimination of people on the basis of race, color, or national origin in the operation of federally assisted programs. • 5. Finding Truth And Finding Peace This past week we read some very different articles in terms of what they were witnesses to. To me a witness is someone who tells a story in hopes of finding truth and finding peace. A witness mean someone who is willing to listen to people tell theirs stories and continue to tell those stories when other people are no longer able to. While visiting the AfricaBurial Grounds going through the different exhibits, I came across a quote that I believe describes in perfect detail what a witnessis. I m for truth no matter who tells it, I m for justice no matter who it is for or against. I m a human being first and foremost, and as such I m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity (Malcolm X). I believe that a witness s job is to tell the truth regardless of whom that truth will affect. We as people have the obligation to other human beings to be just and tell their stories, and fight for them when they are not able to. While visit the African Burial Grounds I considered my self to be witness what these people went through. Throughout the museum there were different stories that depicted tremendous suffering. There was a particular picture that stood out to me and it was of when African Americans were taken from Africa to be transported to the United States. The picture showed African Americans being thrown over board because they were dead, sick, or about to die. In that instance I considered my self a witness because learning about the slave trade those details were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Asylum Seekers In Australia Essay Asylum seekers are people who have left their home country to find asylum in another country as a political refugee. Now in Australia, asylum seekers are being forced to detention centres by the Australian government. Citizens of the Australian community are deciding whether asylum seekers should be allowed to become residents in Australia. Asylum seekers should be given asylum in Australia because they have not committed any crimes and Australia takes a minimum number of asylum seekers in a year compared to other underdeveloped countries. Furthermore, asylum seekers have greatly contributed to the Australian society. The Australian government had signed The Refugee convention but are now not following the fundamental articles in the convention. The Refugee convention is a series of articles that state how to treat and help refugees and asylum seekers. Article 31 of the Refugee convention clearly states that refugees should not be penalised for arriving without valid travel documents and how they arrive at the country i.e by boat. • 8. The Building Blocks Of Learning Emily Whitmer Rose Glasser EDTP 201 10/28/16 Ethnography: The Building Blocks of Learning I remember my first day going to a school to observe. It felt more inquiring, rather than being obligated to go to school just because I had to, like the state required us to. Ever since I have been given two field placements, I have been increasingly interested in the teaching profession. My first field placement has been an eye opener for all other rolls in a school. It has showed me just how important other rolls are in a school, and how they can affect and tie into how a student does in a classroom. Having two field placements has given me a new outlook on the classroom environment, curriculum, and what goes on behind the scenes in the teaching profession. In my second field placement, which is what this ethnography will evolve around, I was placed at Blue Lick Elementary School (right next to Knight Middle School). Blue Lick Elementary School collaborates with Knight Middle School, to ease the transition to 6th grade. This school is located in Heritage Creek, which is also close to my first placement, Fairdale High School. The population in this neighborhood is low income. There are 480 students and the student teacher ratio is 16:1. Blue Lick Elementary School is a public co ed school and accepts grades pre kindergarten to 5th grade. At Blue Lick Elementary School, 66% of the students are white. The next majority of the students are black, which is 25% on a pie chart. Only 2% of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Medith Grey s Anatomy Character Analysis Essay Personality Analysis Meredith Grey is one of the main characters on the show Grey s Anatomy. The show trails Meredith s life over eleven thrilling seasons, exposing her relationships, family affairs, and love interests. The show also shows Meredith s unique ability to work in a variety of different situations with a variety of different people. Meredith Grey is daughter to Ellis and Thatcher Grey (or so we think). She was born and raised in Seattle where the show is primarily based. Seattle is also home to Seattle Grace Hospital a place where lives are constantly put on the line, and thinking on your feet comes with the territory. Seattle Grace was also where Meredith s mother completed her surgical residency. With that said, after taking some time and deciding what she wanted to pursue in terms of a career, Meredith ultimately decides to go to medical school, and follow in her mothers foot steps as a surgeon. The Pros And Cons Of Reaching The Summit Of Mount Everest Ever since Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa guide, Tenzing Norgay, became the first people to reach the summit of Mount Everest, people seeking adventure from all over the world have flocked to Nepal in attempt to reach the top of the world. Of the thousands of people who have attempted to climb Everest, a little over four thousand have reached the top. Although, since Edmund s first ascent in 1922, 265 people have died between the first accent and 2014, according to Tina Gardner of the British Mountaineering Council. Many of these deaths have been due to the ever increasing crowds on Everest. Although Nepalese officials must consider the outcomes of these regulations on their economy and the lives of the Sherpas who make the climb possible, these regulations will make climbing Everest safer for everyone, reduce fatalities and environmental effects, and maintain the glory of the climb. Certainly, climbing Mount Everest is one of the most well known and glorified achievements anyone can accomplish. If a man is talking to a group of people and he tells them that he has climbed Everest, everyone knows what he is talking about and they instantly give him respect and admiration. She has previously taught at the University of California Davis and Northwestern University after receiving her B.A. in History and Religious Studies from Brown University in 1973 and her Ph.D. from Yale University in 1979. Halttunen is the author of Confidence Men and Painted Women: A Study of Middle Class Culture in America, 1830 1870 (1982) and Murder Most Foul: The Killer and the American Gothic Imagination (1998). She is currently working on a piece focusing on landscape and antiquity in 19th century New England. Her thesis in Confidence Men and Painted Women: A Study of Middle Class Culture in America, 1830 1870 is that, In an open, urban society, the powerful images of the confidence man and painted woman expressed the deep concern of status conscious social climbers that they themselves and those around them were passing for something they were not (xv). The Era of the Confidence Man is the first chapter of this thrilling exposition and it dives into the social origins of the confidence man. The chapter starts out quite similarly to an advice manual and begins with warning the reader that young men are in fact moldable pieces of wax and highly impressionable beings who must never fall prey to the confidence men. The advice manual then proceeds to enumerate the different kinds of confidence men: the urban companions, the demagogues, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 12. The Terms Of A Contract The terms of a contract refer to the obligations of the parties entering into the contract. These terms are the contents of the contract, which determine the parties rights and obligations. Consequently, the law classifies the terms in two ways. Firstly, the law can look at the terms according to the consequences of breach involving the nature of each term as a condition, warranty or innominate. Secondly, they may investigate the method through which the terms got into the contract, explicitly or implicitly. Courts have the option to examine these two methods to reach an understanding of the obligations of each party in the contract breached by one party. In reference to the first method, this essay will focus on the ability of implicit terms to enter into a contract. An implicit term is not expressly agreed to by the parties, but nevertheless are either read into the contract or arise from other sources of law. To clarify, parties may not have expressly included the term due to forgetfulness, previous contract with the party or because it may have been obvious due to the parties presence in the same trade. If the parties do not include a term, the court can imply a term for business efficacy. This is done in order to make a contract work. Accordingly, the court aims to make valid the intention of the parties. The Moorcock (1889) involved a term not included, but of such an obvious nature that the parties did not think to include it in the contractual terms. Subsequently, ... No boosting is necessary just step on the gas pedal and the engine roars to life. I m sure some of the rumbling emanating from the exhaust system is artificial, but at least the performance is there to back it up as the minivan climbs to highway speed quickly and without hesitation. How would the Pacifica perform with a full payload and pushing the minivan to its 3,600 pound towing capacity? I never found out as four was the maximum number of people carried at any time and I had nothing to tow. • 34. A Study On Fish Pass CHAPTER 2 INTRODUCTION 2.1 General Fish pass [2] is a hydraulic structure which is generally built on or around on obstructions like dams, barrages, weirs, or navigation locks in order to facilitate the natural migration of the fishes. Generally fishways consists of a series of small steps on which the water flows so that the fishes can swim and pass around the obstruction. The working principle of a fishway is attraction of the migrating species to a particular location in the river which is on the downstream side of the obstruction and then enables them to pass upstream. In order to achieve it, either a waterway is opened or the migrating species are entrapped in a tank and then lifted upstream. Figure 3.1: Schematic diagram of a rock ramp fishway [11] The effectiveness of fish pass is the ease with which the entrance to it can be located and how easily the migrating species can cross it without stress or injury in minimum time. The behaviour of the migrating species plays an important role in the design of the fishways. The performance of the fish passes is dependent on the water velocities and the pattern of flow through it. The water velocity in fish passes must be compatible with the swimming capabilities of the species for which it is designed. 2.2 Types of fish pass 1.Close to nature fish passes 2.Technical fish passes 2.2.1 Close to nature fish passes The basic idea ... • 35. The Role Of Aristocratic Women In The Tudor Period When looking at much of Tudor History especially at the earlier reigns of Henry VII and his successor Henry VIII many historians have neglected to explore the agency of women in this period. More specifically the agency of women in the aristocracy is something that can be heavily debated. Aristocratic women in the Tudor period while often presented as side actors who get acted upon are were actually dynamic individuals who forged their own paths. When looking at these women it is important to analyze it in terms of their religion, family, and social position. Through much of my research I found that these dynamic women had complex motives and reasoning behind most of their actions. It is also important to note that many of these women who did not always have the agency they wanted were being constrained by either their wealth, family, or social position. The day to day and struggles of an aristocratic women s early life greatly deferred from those of the more common women and for this reason the case of their agency is wholly different. When analyzing the autonomy of aristocratic women of the Tudor period it is impossible to overlook Anne Boleyn and her rise and fall to power. It is important to analyze how her family the Boleyn s as well as the Howards shaped her life but also the way she shaped theirs. Some historians say that you can t look at Anne as an example as the agency of an aristocratic women because she was queen of England. This is not necessarily true as she ... For some of us we built fences to isolate ourselves from others or in some cases to protect ourselves. No matter what the issue is we, all have to struggle to be able to provide for our families. As a child I built fences when it came to my feelings. For example, growing up I was in the chunky side. Since I wasnt so skinny like the pretty girls in my class. I kinda isolated my self from the other students. That way my feelings wouldn t get hurt. My fence was to protect me from what I thought was going to hurt me. Well the same thing happened to Troy Maxson. In the play, Fences written by the well known playwright, August Wilson, is the story of Troy Maxson and his beloved family. Throughout the whole entire play, a fence is being built around the Maxson household. One of these business structures, used in the design and construction industry, is called Integrated Project Delivery. Integrated Project Delivery is a business style which incorporates all aspects of design throughout the entire design process. This includes, but is not limited to, all participants, business coordination s, and business systems, and the way they interact with the specialties of the participants, in turn producing fluidity within the design and a highly effective final product. There are a few reasons that I believe so, the first of which is that they help unfit and obese children to begin living a healthy lifestyle, and also motivates them to do so. There is no major religion in the world that has ever altered the definition of marriage to include same sex couples (Barlow, 2003). In general, it can be said that many religious people have strong views on same sex marriage, declaring it wrong because of their religious beliefs. There are two main reasons why many religious groups are against same sex marriage. The first argument is that people who are gay are not able to procreate. They do not have the correct corresponding body parts to make children (Waldman, 2003). Anyone who has taken sex education knows that humans can not reproduce without a male s sperm and a female s egg. Therefore, the super ego is responsible for an individual s conscience, or, their ability to feel guilt. Furthermore, the conscience is the form in which the super ego controls our actions and thoughts, and creates guilt within us. Therefore, the ego is the decision making, acting part of an individual, while the super ego acts as the ego s voice of authority and control (Freud).
