Each panel is designed by the survivors for their loved one that died of AIDS related causes. The
panel is 3 feet by 6 feet, which is also the size of a human grave. This connects the ideas of AIDS
and death more closely. Eight individual panels are assembled into 12 feet by 12 feet blocks.
These blocks are shown at local displays of The Quilt. Techniques that were used to make the
panels are patchwork, applique, embroidery, fabric painting, collage, spray paint, needlepoint and

different affects that alcoholism can have on a fetus. As a result of these studies there have been
several terms used to range describe the different effects the alcohol can have on a fetus. They
are called Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Effects, Alcohol Related Birth Defects, ,and
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and Alcohol Related Neurological Disorder. There are three
primary facial abnormalities that a specialists looks for in order to make an official diagnosis of
