Human Nature And The Relationship Between Nation States
To what extent does human nature help us to explain the relationship between nation states?
This essay will discuss different approaches to human nature and the effect it has on the relationship
between nation states. It will outline some contemporary examples of relationship between nation
states, including that of Syria and the affected states, as well as general realist theories to human
nature, such as The stag hunt . As well as this, it will look at alternative more liberal approaches to
human nature, and some examples of why human nature can lead those to be cooperative. This will
be illustrated using the refugee crisis.
Human nature as defined by the Collins dictionary, is the qualities common to humanity . It shows
how humans are predisposed to act. Different ideologies have opposing views on human nature;
the realist approach would view humans in a very pessimistic way, in that they are uncooperative
and choose self interest over moral principle (Nardin, Mapel, 1993, p62). Essentially realism shows
that the principle actors in the international arena are states, which act in their own national
interests, and struggle for power (Stanford, 2010). In regards to the international system and how
nation states collaborate, when there is no authority, and nations do what benefits them the most,
international anarchy occurs. This then could lead to potential conflict as there is no authority.
Anarchy, in the international context is defined as absence of

Olaudah Equiano Essay
Olaudah Equiano was a British native and a previous slave who, in the 1780s, turned into a pioneer
in the development to cancel the slave exchange. His self portrayal, The Interesting Narrative of the
Life of Olaudah Equiano, or Gustavus Vassa, the African, was first distributed in London in 1789
and with its solid abolitionist position and nitty gritty portrayal of life in Nigeria, was so popular to
the point that in his lifetime it went through nine English releases and one U.S. printing and was
converted into Dutch, German, and Russian.. It contributed essentially to turning British popular
conclusion against the slave exchange. Equiano was viewed as an expert regarding the matter of
the slave exchange, in extensive part, since he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Equiano was around 12 when he initially touched base in England. For part of that time he
remained at Blackheath in London with the Guerin family. It is here that Equiano learnt how to
read and write and to do arigmetrics. The book started with an appeal addressed to Parliament,
expressing that the reason for his book is to incite sentiments of empathy for his comrades who
have been whipped by the abhorrence s of the slave exchange. While Equiano excessively endured,
he now is appreciative, making it impossible to have picked up information of Christianity and of
the country of Britain, which nevertheless finished with his abolitionist letter to the Queen. The a
huge number of individuals who read Equiano s book, or heard him talk, began to see subjection
through the eyes of a previous subjugated African. It was a critical book that made a crucial
commitment to the abolitionists motivation. Since the book s story was valid, it sparked readers
sympathy more than an address in government would have done. Numerous other individuals,
however, endeavored to give occasion to feel qualms about Equiano s character, contending that he
was conceived in the West Indies, not in

Exploring the Ontological Argument
Exploring the Ontological Argument For nearly a thousand years, the ontological argument has
captured the attention of philosophers. The ontological argument was revolutionary in its sequence
from thought to reality. It was an argument that did not require any corresponding experiment in
reality; it functioned without the necessity of empirical data. Despite flaws and problems found in
some ontological arguments and the objections raised to those arguments, ontological arguments
still provide a phenomenal vehicle for ontological discussion through St. Anselm s original ideas
and argument, objections raised, and revisions of previous arguments. The ontological argumentstill
intrigues philosophers despite potential objections and flaws... Show more content on

258). It does not matter who or what that Greatest Conceivable Being is identified as; anyone and
everyone can have an idea of that being. The third premise works off of the idea that it is greater
for something to exist in reality than simply as an idea in our minds (Cowan Spiegel, 2009, p.
258). The idea is that existence is a quality that can make something greater than something equal
in all aspects except for existence. A red balloon in my mind would not be as great as a red
balloon that actually exists. So, in order for the Greatest Conceivable Being to actually be the
greatest, it needs to exist in reality. The fourth premise says that if God, or the Greatest Conceivable
Being, was only an idea in the mind, then he would not be as great as he could be because he did
not exist in reality. So, if God does not exist in reality, then we would be able to imagine or
conceive a being greater than him. The fifth premise ties back in to the first: God, by definition, is
the Greatest Conceivable Being. If he did not exist, then he would not be the Greatest Conceivable
Being. There would be a being that is greater. However, it would be self contradictory to say that
there would be a being greater than the Greatest Conceivable Being (Himma, n.d., para. 1). If
something is the greatest, there cannot be something greater. The sixth premise brings the argument
to a conclusion: if the Greatest Conceivable Being is the greatest, that

The areas of computer science/technology has ten main areas that we need in our everyday lives.
The two computer science fields I am interested is Computer Forensics Investigator and Cyber
Detective. They both have to do with computers and figuring out evidence to put suspects away but
they involve different steps. Computer Forensic Investigators work with law enforcements agencies
and private firms. Cyber detectives work with law enforcement agencies, private
businesses,corporations agencies and regulatory agencies.

Kierkegaard
Kierkegaard, in Works of Love uses 1 Cor. 8:1 Love builds up as a starting point to discuss how
love can be discussed.
He begins his discussion by recognizing that to build up is a transferred expression that has both a
general and spiritual meaning. In the general sense, Kierkegaard says that to build up is to
construct something from the ground up into the heights (201). It is not just to build, but to build
from the foundation, from the ground, up. He provides the example of the parable of the wise and
foolish builders, the one of whom builds his house without a foundation while the other does build
from the foundation up. A key part of what to build up means to Kierkegaard is that it is built on
something, a foundation. This is what he means when discussing to build up in the general sense. ...

This, as with all sins, separates them from others and from God. Fairlie describes pride as puffed
up, stuck up, stiff necked...superiors...aloof (Fairlie 41). It is when the soul is inordinately pleased
with itself (Fairlie 41). Love as building up helps combat the sin of pride in a person because it
forces the prideful to acknowledge that there is love in other people, placed there by God. If the
person who has a tendency toward pride makes this presupposition about others, then it becomes
difficult to maintain the sin of pride. The presupposition of love in another affirms that they too are
a person of value, and this alone helps to combat pride, which considers others as less than.
Acknowledging another s worth helps the sinful person be humble, which is opposite of

Secondary Prevention Programs Essay
The Secondary Prevention Programs provide treatment such as psychological counseling to youths
and adults that have violated the law. Unfortunately, there is an extreme disconnect in providing
adequate services to people that have committed crimes after they have met all rehabilitative
requirements under the law. The prisonsystem was initially designed to rehabilitate people that
have operated outside of the confines of law so that once their debt is paid they are to assimilate
back into society. If a person completes their prison sentence and returns to normal society with no
options of creating a productive life is it safe to say that we create criminals and punish them for
their crimes. Crisis counseling should be provided and required for all citizens that have completed
their prison sentence so... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To further help those that have committed crimes receive a fair second chance trade training and
job placement opportunities should be provided to those that are released from prison.
Incentives, should be given such as tax rebates for companies that provide employment to
people that have spent a portion of their adult lives inside of the prison system. The treatment of
the American veterans that have risked their lives for this country and do not receive additional
counseling and care to treat the effects of war. PTSD has been proven to truly affect the way that
people the suffer from it operate daily. Veterans suffering from this horrific disorder should be
given proper treatment to ensure that their mental deficiencies are properly handled and treated.
To make sure that we prevent former criminals from becoming repeat criminal offenders we must
aid, educate, train, and treat all of the causing factors that drive people to commit crimes and
recommit them. For a person to reenter society after being in prison and have no money in their
pockets, access to no forms of aid, no education, and then be told to be a productive tax paying
citizen is

Mentorship Tips
My general goal for the year includes training the next generation of cadets. I also have some
specific goals I will complete during the upcoming term. First, I think mentorship between cadets
needs to step up and play an active role in week to week activities. Even though the 130th has an
outstanding group of cadet leaders currently, many newer cadets seem to lack the interest or
understanding to take the next step in their leadershipjourney; mentorship will assist in providing
novice cadets with the necessary tools and encouragement to succeed. Secondly, giving cadets
personalised classes through more leadership classes. Providing grade related tips from
experienced cadets showcases another way to engage cadets and it would be great if the

Comparing Two Adverts
Smoking has a dramatic impact on many Victorians. Two ads that are trying to address the issue
are Vic Health Will your kids go through the agony and Quit Line s Should have been there . They
are trying to stop parents smoking and position them to quit for their kids. Quit Line is an
organisation that has been running since early 1970. Vic health on the other hand has been running
since 1987. The contention of Should have been there is for the parents to stop smokingso they do
not miss out on things with their kids. The intention is to stop smoking so the viewers can spend
as much time as possible with their kids. Whereas the contention of Will your kids go through the
agony is to get the audience to stop and think about their kids and how will they go if the viewer
passes away from smoking the intention is for the audience to stop smoking so for the kids sake....

They both are targeting the same audience (parents). They highlight and emphasise the point that
kids have to go through the pain just as much as the adult. They both use music to make the
audience feel what they are going through. When these two ads use sad music, it is trying to make
the audience s emotions come into play so that they feel as though they are in that situation and
they are truly saddened about what is going on with that family. They both demonstrate and
reinforce the fact that everyone is affected by just one person smoking in the family. The
contention is very similar because they are both stating that the person will miss out on things with
their kids. Again, these ads are very similar and are each are trying to say something about how
parents smoking can lead to them missing

Causes And Disadvantages Of Eutrophication
Eutrophication is the process by which an aquatic environment acquires a higher concentration of
two important nutrients: phosphates and nitrates in a certain environment. This promotes excessive
growth of algae on the surface of the water. Living things need some specific nutrients to survive.
Usually nature provides just the specific amount of nutrients, but too many nutrients can cause
dangerous problems to the environment. This is presented in aquatic systems.
However the problems can also increase when aquatic environments such as lakes or rivers have an
overabundance of nutrients, when this happens eutrophication appears. A Eutrophic lake occurs
when there is a presence of too many nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus that is usually as a
result of drainage from surrounding land. When a lake or other aquatic system becomes eutrophic,
then we can have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A 2008 study counted 405 dead zones across the world. Hypoxia occur when there is low oxygen in
a specific area, so this is a natural phenomenon in coastal areas around the world. Aquatic dead
zones can be caused by an increase in nutrients such as nitrates and phosphates known as
eutrophication.Major nutrients comes from human activity such as fertilisers in agriculture and
burning fossil fuels , these nutrients lead to rapid increase on phytoplankton resulting in algae
bloom . These organic matter produced sinks to the bottom of the ocean were bacteria break it
down, when bacteria break down this organic matter they consumed oxygen liberating carbon

Corporate Governance and Control in Japan
Corporate governance and control in Japan: can the barriers to foreign takeover activity in Japan
ever be removed? Japan s seeming impenetrability to foreign takeovers, largely due to the
prevailing corporate culture and governance that allegedly hinders such takeovers, has defined
business firms and companies in the last decades (Lebrun, 2001; Gerlach, 1992; Maher and
Wong, 1994; Seeman, 1986; Seeman, 1987; Stern, 1998). Such barriers have gradually been
buoyed down by the worldwide economic recession of the recent times an indication that while
these barriers may not be totally lifted, the prospect of reducing it is optimistic (Itoh and Vestring,
2001; Larimer, 1999; Seeman, 1986; Seeman, 1987; JETRO, 2002;). Japanese inter corporate
relationships are considered in terms of three different structures of interaction: corporate
groupings, financial centrality, and industrial interdependency. Almost all decisions in Japanese
business are group decisions, which require virtually unanimous support from the members of the
team making the decision Foreign firms, which, to a great extent, need to acquire market shares in
Japan, the nation with the world s greatest trade surplus, find their way to major acquisitions in

A History Of The World In 6 Glasses Analysis

drink that humans have become, in a sense, reliant on over time, as shown in Tom Standage s

, wine, spirits,
coffee, tea, and Coca Cola greatly shape the events of our world s history. Beer has been around
since the time of the hunter gatherers in Egypt and Mesopotamia, otherwise known as the Fertile
Crescent. Around 10,000 BCE, these hunter gatherers used crushed up wheat and barley to add to
food, such as soup, and stored it for long periods of time. The first settlements

The simulators used today are extremely accurate as to the limitations of people and equipment,
and as advances in technology improve so do the simulators, as they become more and more
realistic. Computer game technology is also responsible for these improvements; today s video
game consoles have many times the computing power than the military s simulators a few years
ago.2 The army has even developed its own video game based on the simulators it uses for
combat training. Americas Army is more than just a shoot em up game; it is built to portray a
real soldiers life, everything from basic training to choosing a career. According to one of the
games designers, Lt. Col. Casey Wardynski, the game took over two years and around $8 million
dollars (USD) to develop, but the main point of the game is education of real Army life, and is
said to be the most realistic game ever developed. Simulators cannot however depict every aspect
of military life, dealing with other team members, salty commanders, and there is nothing to
simulate being cold, tired and hungry at the end of the day. All in all however, simulators are a
vital part of today s military training and operations. In the near future, if it is not already possible,
I would not be surprised if a simulator can be developed for any situation by simply inputting a
given situation, and the soldiers will be able to use the simulator before going into the actual
combat situation.

Essay On China s Emergence As A Global Power
China s emergence as a global power has coincided with a somewhat heavy handed foreign policy
towards its neighbors. Internal disputes have included a political crisis in Hong Kong over the right
to vote, minority oppression in Inner Mongolia, and unhealthy air quality. China s rise has changed
the Asian power dynamic. Chinese foreign policy towards North Korea, protective in nature, has
drawn criticism. Worried about instability in Korea driving untrained refugees into China, its
leadership opposes any transformative actions in the region. China s policy towards Japan
increasingly features hostile rhetoric, as the two countries struggle for influence in the region.

International Law does not support China s claims. The principle of effective occupation was
established by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Island of Palmas in 1928. Effective
occupation entails an ability and intention to exercise continuous and uninterrupted jurisdiction,
which is distinguished from conquest. China has occupied the Paracel Islands, an archipelago of
thirty islands between China and Vietnam, but it has not occupied the Spratly Islands, an
archipelago off the coasts of the Philippines and Malaysia. It once occupied nine islands between
1988 and 1992, but the islands are now occupied by various other claimants. China s claims are
also disputed by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Under UNCLOS, claims to
resources are based on exclusive economic zones and continental shelves. China s claims far surpass
its exclusive economic zones and continental shelves, overlapping with the legal claims of other
ASEAN states. China s claims rely on historical interests, which carries no weight under
international law.
Another problem stems from the natural resource potential of the sea. Estimations of oil in the
region present varied statistics, but everyone agrees that the area has oil. According to the
Ministry of Geological Resources and Mining of the People s Republic of China, the sea may
contain 17.7 billion tons of crude oil. The United States Energy Information Administration

Life Imprisonment
| LIFE IMPRISONMENT IS A GOOD ALTERNATIVE TO CAPITAL PUNISHMENT| Can life
imprisonment be a good alternative to death penalty? The issue remains unresolved. Even the US
Supreme Court that had abolished Death Penalty reversed its decision when new and less cruel
methods of execution were introduced. Why does a society punish its members for certain acts
that are offensive and unacceptable to its laws and codes? This can be a starting point of exploring
our dilemma about death penalty vs. life imprisonment. It is argued that fear of death deters people
from committing crimes, and the penalty of death exerts a positive moral influence. The American
death penalty laws have invited ire and ridicule of human rights activists everywhere,... Show more

A person who gets caught for killing another individual is usually someone who did not plan to
murder in the first place. These individuals fall into the crimes of passion category. Crimes of
passion are defined as unlawful acts of an individual which are unplanned and erupt as a result of
a fit or rage or anger. These illegal actions usually stem from drunkenness or a short term loss of
logical thinking, which can be attributed to anger. The death penalty would logically deter crime,
but the problem is that most murderers are unplanned and are not a result of logic. During the
1930s the federal government, under the direction of Jack Gibbs, investigated the effectiveness of
the death penalty in deterring serious crime. The results of Gibbs investigation is that capital
punishment did not deter. However, during the 1970s, Prof. Isaac Ehrlich found out through his
research that capital punishment did deter but no one else besides Ehrlich has come up with the
same results. The conclusion that researches have drawn up during the past decade is that the death
penalty does not significantly have an effect on serious crime, one way or the other. Another reason
that many people are against death penalty is that they feel that many a times innocent people are
wrongfully executed, all in the name of justice, even though there are many safeguards
guaranteeing protection of the rights of those facing death penalty.

A Case For Jury Trials
A case for Jury Trials in India
By: Scott A. McMillan, Ravishankar K. Mor
Jury trials in India had come to an end unceremoniously; the immediate cause for abolition of jury
trials was Not Guilty verdict of jury in K.M.Nanavati Vs. state of Maharashtra . The sessions Judge
disagreed the Jury opinion, in his view, no reasonable body of men could bring that verdict on the
evidence and referred the matter to the High Court under s. 307 of the Code of Criminal
Procedure. The two judges of the Division Bench who heard the matter agreed in holding that the
appellant was guilty under s. 302 of the Indian Penal Code and sentenced him to undergo
rigorous imprisonment for life. The judgement was affirmed in appeal by the Supreme Court of
India. This case then attracted much media attention. Stories were written about the innocence of
K.W.Nanavati and it was therefore said that Jury members were influenced by the media
coverage and without conducting any survey or research in this regard the entire jury system
was considered bad in law, and was factually abolished thereafter. With the coming into force of
new criminal procedure code of 1973 it was abolished by all means. In order to understand the
reasons for abolishing jury trial we need to go little back in time. The Jury trial was introduced in
India sometime in 1665 but thereafter no notable instances are

Winston Hao, the owner of Datavast Inc., is operating at a loss and needs to find out a way to be

who are new to the concept of cloud storage. Winston Hao needs to dial in his target market, but
the real issue is not enough sales. Hao is certain to segment to try to emphasis deep in order for

The other target Hao is looking into is Large companies. Large companies would not buy Hao s
products constantly and allowed much higher unit contributions. The larger businesses would
always stick to the same supplier and want the same solution.
Another reason Datavast wasn t growing was because not many companies new about the many
products Hao provided. Because of China businesses feared data leakage, bankruptcy and exposing
their data, companies didn t trust anyone with storing their company information with providers.
Data Analysis and Alternatives Analysis
Winston Hao is the founder of the company Datavast Inc. Hao had several decisions to make for
his business. Even though, Hao had already made numerous adjustments to his original product,
he still didn t know to whom he was going to distribute his new product. His main targets were
small to medium enterprise or larger companies. Five years ago Hao worked hard in building his
company and designing the cloud storage product. The purpose was to offer their services not only
to North America but also moving into China. Datavast partnered with China Telecom hoping it
would give them credibility.
Datavast needs to decide if it would be a good idea to sell to small to medium enterprise (SME s),
but the companies knows that if they sell to SME s they will be facing several challenges. For

Health Disparities Essay
There are three categories that summarize health disparities in the U.S. The first is disparities
that have a social or economic cause rather than a biological cause. An example of this would be
that the death rates of black American men are 26 percent higher than that of white men. Also, the
death rates of black American woman are 19 percent higher than that of white women. An
explanation for this is because blacks have a lower socioeconomic status than white. The reason
for this is because blacks are more likely than white to never graduate high school, or graduate
high school but not go to college (Barr, 43). Therefore, those with low socioeconomic status can t
afford to go to the doctor which results in a healthdisparity. The second category

All Human Beings Possess A Basic Understanding Of Love
All human beings possess a basic understanding of love and are able to express love through
verbalizations, emotions, gestures, or other acts of kindness; however, the condition of the human
heart is tainted by sin and so is love in terms of humanity. Thus, human beings are unable to
understand and comprehend love s truest form which is found in the embodiment God s being. God
s love is communicated to mankind through the covenants, the wonders of creation, the personhood
of JesusChrist, and the power of the Holy Spiritwho subsequently seals God s offer of salvation
through the atoning death of Jesus Christ. Furthermore, those whom God allows Himself to be
known can also know God s love through God s providential care and sustainment... Show more

Hence, with all the confusion and mystery that surrounds the Trinity, it becomes difficult to
understand how each member of the Trinity shares in the attribute of God s love.
Without the Trinity, human beings cannot appreciate the attribute of God s love. Thus, God
reveals His attribute of love through Jesus Christ (John 3:16) while Jesus displays the attribute
of God s love through the crucifixion (John 15:13), and the Holy Spirit makes the attribute
known through the regeneration (Titus 3:5) of the believer (Dockery, 1992). Furthermore, love
itself is in triunity; hence, there must be the lover, the love, and the loved (Conner, 1980, p. 53).
In the Godhead, the attribute of God s love finds a perfect expression (Matthew 3:16; John
14:31) in the triunity of the Father who is the lover, the Son who is the loved, and the Holy
Spirit who is love (Conner, 1980, p. 53). Thus, the Father who so loved (John 3:16) gave the Son
his love (Colossians 1:13) and the love of the Spirit (Romans 15:30; Galatians 5:22) which is
expressed to mankind not only in creation but in redemption where the invisible is made visible
(Conner, 1980).
Adding to the complexity of God s love is the fact that the attribute of God s love is not easily seen
in the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit never truly reveals Himself to human consciousness; hence, the

Character Analysis of Katherine Anne Porter s He
In Katherine Anne Porter s short story He, she presents several themes that she develops primarily
through the actions of the main characters, particulary Mrs. Whipple. Porter portrays a poor, lower
class Southern family and the difficulties they encounter. More importantly, she centers the story
around the feelings of shame, pride, and an exaggerated concern for appearances through Mrs.
Whipple s s relationship with her mentally retarded son and her behavior toward Him. Other
characters, such as her husband Mr. Whipple and their two able bodied children Adna and Emly

but behind closed doors he does not get special, or even equal, treatment. When he climbed trees
or later goes to get the bull, Mrs. Whipple is not worried about His safety but what the neighbors
will think if he gets hurt. She is petrified that someone would say she had neglected her duties.
However, when Emly gets cold, she gets His blankets (325). Although Mrs. Whipple makes
grand demonstrations to her neighbors, He seems somewhat exploited in the household. Even
after he becomes ill, he works in the field. After his illness during the winter, He walked as if His
feet hurt Him. The very next sentence, though, tells us that despite this, He was able to run a
cotton planter during the season (329). A genuine concern for His welfare would not lead to such
actions. If Mrs. Whipple really feared for his life as much as she said she did, she would exhibit
and act on a desire to protect him, regardless of whether the neighbors were watching.
Mrs. Whipple s worry about appearances extends beyond her behavior toward Him. When her
brother visits, she insists that they slaughter a pig, despite the fact that the family will need it later.

In the proposed network two floors of each building will be connected with multi layer switch
which is further connected to the access points, results to be cost effective due to use of multi
layer switch instead of single switch for each floor .considering xirrus in the coming future will be
even more better for the campus network as that will replace the excess access points.
The communication between the three buildings can be maintained by two methods either the
leasing of Dark Fibre for Private Network from one of the ISP. This service provides optical Fibre
as point to point connection between both premises but it s not the cost effective.
Another option would be to install WiMAX Directional Antenna s on top of both buildings giving
clear Line Of Sight between them.
The line of sight service, where a fixed dish antenna points straight at the WiMAX tower from a
rooftop or pole, the line of sight connection is stronger and more stable, so it s able to send a lot
of data with fewer errors. Line of sight transmissions use higher frequencies, with ranges reaching a
possible 66 GHz. At higher frequencies, there is less interference and lots more bandwidth.

While moving around throughout my adult years, I have noticed that many of the cultural issues
that I see here in the south are not an issue in northern states and other countries. I have also seen a
difference between small communities and large communities. Seems most people in the larger
communities are much more open minded and willing to go out of their ways to embrace cultural
diversity whether in their workplace or in their neighborhood. Diversity is about learning from
other cultures and respecting the differences that come our way. I work in a small public school

Hospital-Associated Infection
Hand hygiene has been identified as one of the simplest, but the most significant measure to prevent
and control the spread of hospital acquired infections (WHO, 2009). Furthermore, it is also
considered a cheap measurement for infection control (Allegranzi et al., 2007). Hand hygiene
compliance among healthcare workers is underutilised and interventions to develop it are absent
sustainability in developing countries (Gould et al., 2008). In the mid 1880s, the Austrian physician
Ignaz P. Semmelweis was the first doctor who reported the critical role of the hands of the
healthcare providers in transmitting hospitalacquired infections (Allegranzi and Pittet, 2008).
Hospital acquired infections (HAI) remain a big challenge to the patient safety (WHO, 2009). It
affects hundreds of million individuals worldwide ever year (Allegranzi et al., 2007). Healthcare

Fahrenheit 451 Book Report
For the last month or so I ve been reading Fahrenheit 451. Fahrenheit 451 is a science fiction
novel that was written by Ray Bradbury. It was originally written in 1953. It is about a dystopian
universe where it is illegal to read or own books. In the book the characters are Guy Montag (a
firefighter who burns books), Mildred (Montag s wife), and Beatty (Montag s boss who is also a
firefighter).
I like the concept and plot of the book, but I don t like the book itself. It s extremely hard to follow

the people he surrounds himself with.

Biological Parent And A Foster Parent
What are the differences between being a biological parent, an adoptive parent, and a foster parent?
There are many differences between being a biological parent, an adoptive parent, and a foster
parent. Being a biological parent is when you are a parent of a kid by DNA. This means that both
of your DNA are shown similar when it goes through tests in a lab. An adoptive parentis a parent
who chose what child or children they want from a foster home. However an adoptive parent
would have to do a lot of paperwork to be a child or children parent by law. A foster parent on the

Comparing Justice In Electra And Sophocles
Sophocles s Electra focuses mainly on the justifications of some actions, Sophocles sees justice as
the most important thing that leads to the actions of others. Herodotus is nearly the exact opposite.
He seems to not see any importance with justice, within The Histories he shows that the most
important thing when writing is showing what caused certain events to happen, as well as evidence
to both sides of the story, allowing the reader to decide what really happened. Although these two
texts and their authors seem to be completely different, they do share similarities. They both try to

In today s world, justice is defined simply as The process or result of using laws to fairly judge
and punish crimes and criminals. However, Sophocles helps to show that justice, in the time of

within his play. The two main acts of justice are that Sophocles focus on are: the murder of King
Agamemnon, by his wife Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisthus, the other, the main focus of the
play, the murder of Clytemnestra and Aegisthus for murdering King Agamemnon. However, can
these acts really be seen as

field will be easy; a nurse gets to pick what area they want to specialize; they get paid very well;
and they get to bond with their patients. In addition, opportunities to advance your studies... Show

Nurses can work a shift that works around their schedule. If they have children at home and want
to be with them when they return home from school, then they can work night shifts. This
would also be a good shift for people who are not morning people. Someone who would rather
work when their kids are at school or even just want to work during the day and have nights off,
then they can do that too. Nursing is a very flexible career because you can easily change your
shifts around. The opportunity of working eight hour shifts or twelve hour shifts is also
available to nurses. You can work three days a week or five, which also allows for flexibility. There
are pros and cons to both working three days a week is nice when you receive four days off then,
but the hours can be ..physically and emotionally demanding.. ( Gray 2015). Working five days a
week would also be nice because you have less hours to work, but then you do not have as many
days off. The flexibility a nurse has is a very nice

As well as this, it will look at alternative more liberal approaches to human nature, and some examples of why human nature can lead those to be cooperative. This will be illustrated using the refugee crisis. Human nature as defined by the Collins dictionary, is the qualities common to humanity . It shows how humans are predisposed to act. Different ideologies have opposing views on human nature; the realist approach would view humans in a very pessimistic way, in that they are uncooperative and choose self interest over moral principle (Nardin, Mapel, 1993, p62). Essentially realism shows that the principle actors in the international arena are states, which act in their own national interests, and struggle for power (Stanford, 2010). In regards to the international system and how nation states collaborate, when there is no authority, and nations do what benefits them the most, international anarchy occurs. This then could lead to potential conflict as there is no authority. Anarchy, in the international context is defined as absence of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is here that Equiano learnt how to read and write and to do arigmetrics. The book started with an appeal addressed to Parliament, expressing that the reason for his book is to incite sentiments of empathy for his comrades who have been whipped by the abhorrence s of the slave exchange. While Equiano excessively endured, he now is appreciative, making it impossible to have picked up information of Christianity and of the country of Britain, which nevertheless finished with his abolitionist letter to the Queen. The a huge number of individuals who read Equiano s book, or heard him talk, began to see subjection through the eyes of a previous subjugated African. It was a critical book that made a crucial commitment to the abolitionists motivation. The ontological argument was revolutionary in its sequence from thought to reality. It was an argument that did not require any corresponding experiment in reality; it functioned without the necessity of empirical data. Despite flaws and problems found in some ontological arguments and the objections raised to those arguments, ontological arguments still provide a phenomenal vehicle for ontological discussion through St. Anselm s original ideas and argument, objections raised, and revisions of previous arguments. It does not matter who or what that Greatest Conceivable Being is identified as; anyone and everyone can have an idea of that being. The third premise works off of the idea that it is greater for something to exist in reality than simply as an idea in our minds (Cowan Spiegel, 2009, p. 258). The idea is that existence is a quality that can make something greater than something equal in all aspects except for existence. A red balloon in my mind would not be as great as a red balloon that actually exists. So, in order for the Greatest Conceivable Being to actually be the greatest, it needs to exist in reality. The fourth premise says that if God, or the Greatest Conceivable Being, was only an idea in the mind, then he would not be as great as he could be because he did not exist in reality. So, if God does not exist in reality, then we would be able to imagine or conceive a being greater than him. The fifth premise ties back in to the first: God, by definition, is the Greatest Conceivable Being. If he did not exist, then he would not be the Greatest Conceivable Being. There would be a being that is greater. However, it would be self contradictory to say that there would be a being greater than the Greatest Conceivable Being (Himma, n.d., para. 1). If something is the greatest, there cannot be something greater. The sixth premise brings the argument to a conclusion: if the Greatest Conceivable Being is the greatest, that ... He begins his discussion by recognizing that to build up is a transferred expression that has both a general and spiritual meaning. In the general sense, Kierkegaard says that to build up is to construct something from the ground up into the heights (201). It is not just to build, but to build from the foundation, from the ground, up. He provides the example of the parable of the wise and foolish builders, the one of whom builds his house without a foundation while the other does build from the foundation up. A key part of what to build up means to Kierkegaard is that it is built on something, a foundation. This is what he means when discussing to build up in the general sense. ... These illegal actions usually stem from drunkenness or a short term loss of logical thinking, which can be attributed to anger. The death penalty would logically deter crime, but the problem is that most murderers are unplanned and are not a result of logic. During the 1930s the federal government, under the direction of Jack Gibbs, investigated the effectiveness of the death penalty in deterring serious crime. The results of Gibbs investigation is that capital punishment did not deter. However, during the 1970s, Prof. Isaac Ehrlich found out through his research that capital punishment did deter but no one else besides Ehrlich has come up with the same results. • 26. Health Disparities Essay There are three categories that summarize health disparities in the U.S. The first is disparities that have a social or economic cause rather than a biological cause. An example of this would be that the death rates of black American men are 26 percent higher than that of white men. Also, the death rates of black American woman are 19 percent higher than that of white women. An explanation for this is because blacks have a lower socioeconomic status than white. The reason for this is because blacks are more likely than white to never graduate high school, or graduate high school but not go to college (Barr, 43). Therefore, those with low socioeconomic status can t afford to go to the doctor which results in a healthdisparity. The second category ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. All Human Beings Possess A Basic Understanding Of Love All human beings possess a basic understanding of love and are able to express love through verbalizations, emotions, gestures, or other acts of kindness; however, the condition of the human heart is tainted by sin and so is love in terms of humanity. Thus, human beings are unable to understand and comprehend love s truest form which is found in the embodiment God s being. God s love is communicated to mankind through the covenants, the wonders of creation, the personhood of JesusChrist, and the power of the Holy Spiritwho subsequently seals God s offer of salvation through the atoning death of Jesus Christ. Hence, with all the confusion and mystery that surrounds the Trinity, it becomes difficult to understand how each member of the Trinity shares in the attribute of God s love. Without the Trinity, human beings cannot appreciate the attribute of God s love. Thus, God reveals His attribute of love through Jesus Christ (John 3:16) while Jesus displays the attribute of God s love through the crucifixion (John 15:13), and the Holy Spirit makes the attribute known through the regeneration (Titus 3:5) of the believer (Dockery, 1992). Furthermore, love itself is in triunity; hence, there must be the lover, the love, and the loved (Conner, 1980, p. 53). In the Godhead, the attribute of God s love finds a perfect expression (Matthew 3:16; John 14:31) in the triunity of the Father who is the lover, the Son who is the loved, and the Holy Spirit who is love (Conner, 1980, p. 53). Thus, the Father who so loved (John 3:16) gave the Son his love (Colossians 1:13) and the love of the Spirit (Romans 15:30; Galatians 5:22) which is expressed to mankind not only in creation but in redemption where the invisible is made visible (Conner, 1980). Adding to the complexity of God s love is the fact that the attribute of God s love is not easily seen in the Holy Spirit as the Holy Spirit never truly reveals Himself to human consciousness; hence, the ... When he climbed trees or later goes to get the bull, Mrs. Whipple is not worried about His safety but what the neighbors will think if he gets hurt. She is petrified that someone would say she had neglected her duties. However, when Emly gets cold, she gets His blankets (325). After his illness during the winter, He walked as if His feet hurt Him. The very next sentence, though, tells us that despite this, He was able to run a cotton planter during the season (329). A genuine concern for His welfare would not lead to such actions. If Mrs. Whipple really feared for his life as much as she said she did, she would exhibit and act on a desire to protect him, regardless of whether the neighbors were watching.
