done this before. I had not attended his funeral, nor had I visited his grave. I could
not find him lying in a cold casket in a church he d never been to in the house of a
God he never believed in. I could not find him in the ground, underneath soil he
never walked on and a tombstone bearing words he never spoke. But pulling
myself through his window, five feet from the ground, I find him here. He is

One of the major effects of the changing of our climate in recent years has been on
our glaciers. These massive sources of fresh water can greatly change our ocean
climate, which can lead to many negative effects on the marine environment. The
ecosystems within this environment rely on a delicate balance, and glacial melting
can seriously upset this equilibrium.
One example of how glacial melting affects marine life is acidification. Each year
the ocean absorbs about two thirds of human output of CO2, which is sent into the
deep ocean layer. However, since the rate of CO2 has increased so much, the amount
dissolved into the oceans has increased greatly. Dissolved carbon dioxide creates
carbonic acid, which decreases the PH level in our oceans, making it more acidic.
Although the pH of the ocean has constantly been changing, this rate of change has
increased recently. Scientists are unsure exactly what this could mean for ocean
life, but the results have the potential to be devastating. If the pH decreases faster
than the organisms can evolve and adapt, then productivity could be decreased and
survival could become difficult. Specifically crustaceans that use calcium carbonate
in order to make their shells will be affected if the CO2 levels are not soon taken

literature. They both portray the style and structure of medieval romance. They also

I figured it was appropriate that the author did not place the blame on one party.
Instead, he addressed the various individuals in Canada that were not providing a fair
education in its national and political history as well as for the reasons why this is
such a big deal. This book was educational as it gave readers brief and sometimes

My Blessed Life
Growing up, I never understood why my mother gave people things she didn t
gave to me. Like, why did she hugged the crying girl next door and not her own
crying daughter? In my mother s defense, my siblings and I had more than enough.
In fact, my mother reminded us daily of how privileged and spoiled my siblings and
I were. However, this blessed life was the work of my parents and it did not belong to
me. If I wanted a life as blessed as my childhood, I would have to earn it. In my

giving will always bring joy, love, and happiness. I resented my mother, as I never
understood why she forced me to give when all I had was desperation and woe. I

loved ones. I burdened my friends with my depression, however they never

This week saw the Fair Work Commission (FWC) bring down an adjustment to
Penalty rates in Australia for some Retail and Hospitality Workers. If you read the
newspapers, listen to the radio, and watch TV coverage it comes across as the
greatest betrayal of the working man (or woman) since the great Depression.

and part time workers from 175% to 150% Fast food award rates for level one
employees from 150% to 125% for full time and part time employees and from 175%
to 150% for casuals Retail award rates for full time and part time employees from
200% to 150% and for casuals from 200% to 175% Pharmacy award rates from 200%

Everyday, the battle ground is enhanced as technology proves to become more hi
tech throughout the many years of war known to man. Back in WWII, service
members were not so reluctant to have the same luxuries as we do today during war.
The least to say, a legend at his best, LT. Audie L. Murphy fought alongside with
the 3rd Infantry Division with only one objective in mind. This battle, The One
Man Stand at Holtzwihr, is a memory to be told and a legend to be lived on. First
Lt Audie L. Murphy of Company B, 15th Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division was in
for the fight of his life on a cold and frigid January day in 1945. The role in this
offensive for the Division was to advance near Bois de Riedwihr. This was a large
stretch of forest between the villages of Riedwihr and Holtzwihr. Outnumbered by
a couple hundred Germans and tanks, Lt Murphy put his life ahead of the
wellbeing of his men to fend off the offensive attack by the German forces. This

He is obstructed from his genuine rational moral view and if he were morally
coherent, he would have seen that taking such drastic action removes himself from
his genuine thoughts. In The Cask , the perspective we are given on the story is
limited; which allows for an open interpretation of what his true motives for
revenge are. As Baraban states Montresor elaborates a sophisticated philosophy of
revenge: I must not only punish, but punish with impunity (48) presenting the
reader with a vibrant view of what he intends to do. The question one begs is, for
what reason? Most readers would finish this story and assert that mentally,
Montresor is insane. As Baraban states, Poe s intriguing silence about the nature of
the insult that made Montresor murder Fortunato has given rise to explanations of
Montresor s deed through insanity. Richard M. Fletcher, for example, maintains
that Montresor s actions are irrational and that therefore he is mad. (50) Montresor
states at the opening of the story, you,who so well know the nature of my soul ( are
words likely said on his death bed to his confessor; being that he committed this
deed fifty years prior, it would make sense that he is finally coming clean. Moreover,
