Advantages And Disadvantages Of Special Needs Pupils
In Rantsu the approach for the special needs pupils is different from the other two analysed
schools: they have special classes, some of them are stable, others are used just in some periods.
The decision to make special classes can be based on the presence of serious cases of disabilities or
can be a way to help these special needs pupils to have a more personalized study path.
Even if it could be a good method to teach them, it could be dangerous to isolate these pupils from
the others. The other pupils will not face the presence of them, and these pupils will not be pushed
to communicate to the others, that will be necessary in their future life.
There are pros and cons in this approach and it s hard to define a line between help and exclusion.
It permits to isolate pupils that could damage the others with their ... Show more content on

The way they decide to take depends on the situation and on the grade of the crisis they have. In
Italian schools works in almost the same way.
The most interesting method used by the teacher was to follow the pupils knowledge to build the
lesson together. In that way pupils were completely involved in the explanation and they were all
active. The teacher used in a clever way the web, searching on it whatever pupils came up with,
giving them more information about their topics and images of them. This method is not often
used in Italian schools, where the most common method is sadly still the traditional lesson. It will
be really necessary to change it and take Finland as an example for it.
On other class was an 8th grade class, it was a caring class . This kind of section is a peculiarity of
the school. The class involves pupils with psychological problems connected to the school, pupils
that works better alone or in small groups and are not at ease in a traditional

A Basic Overview of Paganism Essay examples
Religion is about creation, and for that reason religion should be about the earth. Laurie Cabot.
One might see hundreds of faces from different races, gender, and pop cultures. But behind each
face is a brain, with spirit and personal beliefs, like religion. When many Americans believe that
everyone is Christian or Catholic, some people practice an ancient religion. This religion,
commonly known as the umbrella term Paganism is back on the move with a contemporary feel.
Paganism is an earth based religion, focusing around the elements and nature. Throughout this paper
Paganism will be explained, along with two of its well known sections, how Pagans worship, and
Pagan holidays.
Paganism has many sub cultures, such as Wiccan, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some follow the Goddess theory. The Goddess theory states that there is just one Goddess who
rules over. Many depict her as Mother Earth, holding plants and caring for animals and humans
alike. Pictures and art of the Goddess is normally a pregnant woman, to show how every life
comes from her womb. Women normally follow this path because of the matriarchal feel of this
path. The Mother Goddess is worshiped through the lunar cycle and also depicted by the waxing,
full and waning moon.
Other Pagans bring ancient religions into contemporary worship, such as Greek, Roman, or
Egyptian mythology. In these different mythologies, there are many gods and goddesses with
different jobs of everyday life, like the Greek god Helios who drove the sun with his chariot
around the world everyday. Though the gods all have different names from the different cultures,
they re all about the same deities. The Greeks and Romans learned from the Egyptians, using
cultural diffusion. In everyday life, Pagans who chose this path will pray to certain deities for
help or guidance on what they rule over. Often, Pagans will choose a couple certain deities to
focus their worship on, whether because of a spiritual bond or because of a coven s pre chosen path.
Paganism is actually a word that s used to describe the whole group of New Age religions, like
NeoPaganism, Wiccan and others. NeoPaganism is the contemporary worship of older Pagan
beliefs and using old rituals in today s culture.

The Four Stages Of Harry Sliver s Life
Man and Boy showed the roller coast ride of a man s life as he enters thirty. The ups and downs
of Harry Sliver life helped shifted his view of what life really meant and the different stages one
can go through as they hit the middle age mark. The book begins with a nuclear family living in
London. Harry, his wife Gina, and their four year old Pat had a pretty common life with others
when it came to living. Harry, how once was a radio producer and moved to a television
producer, worked late hours some days to get her producing work done. One night of what should
have been worked turned into a one night stand. This mistake changed Harry s life forever. Soon
after the night happened Gina, who was barrow Harry s phone, received a voicemail. This... Show

When Harry lost his job he experienced Powell and Driscoll stages of loss of a job. This four
stage theory include relaxation, concerted effort, vacillation with doubt and anger, and lastly
malaise and cynicism. At first Harry was upset about losing his job but he was able to get
through the abrupt change by cleaning out all of Gina s belongings. He still had money from the
other months he words in his account. He was not yet in the reality of the situation. When he
bumped into Marty and Siobhan at the market that s when the second stage really sank in,
concerted effort. Usually after a month or so, Harry began looking for jobs in the yellow pages.
After hearing nothing back, he fell into vacillation with doubt and anger. He lucked out and got an
interview with a job which wouldn t work out due to his single father schedule. Thank goodness
Harry never really fell in a state of depression, he really had no time to with taking care of his son
alone. He did reflect on his life at times throughout the book and continue to contrast himself with
his father, but nothing major in terms of depression. Luckily Harry was able to find a new part

Abc Model Of Crisis Intervention Analysis
The ABC Model of Crisis Intervention is a method of conducting very brief mental health
interviews with clients whose functioning level has decreased following a psychosocial stressor
(Kanel, 2018). The most effective way to use the ABC model is four six weeks after the stressor.
Cultural humility and trauma informed care are the key points in this model as well as providing
community referrals and other resources when using the ABC model. According to Kanel (2018),
the focus of this method is identifying the cognitions of the client as they relate to the precipitating
event and then altering them to help decrease unmanageable feelings. The first known mention of
this method was in 1968 but then it was further developed by Kanel over the course of 30 years.
Within the ABC method, there are three approaches. The three approaches are achieving rapport,
boiling the problem down to basics, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This model integrates various assessment and triage protocols with three primary crisis oriented
intervention strategies: the seven stage crisis intervention model, psychological debriefing, and
trauma support services (Roberts, 2005). With this method, there are three different strategies;
the seven stage crisis intervention model, psychological debriefing, and trauma support services.
Breaking down the ACT model is as follows; A is for assessment/appraisal of immediate medical
needs, threats to public safety and property damage (Roberts, 2005). C is connecting to support
groups, the delivery of disaster relief and social services, and critical incident stress debriefing
(Mitchell and Everly s CISD model) implemented (Roberts,2005). The T is for traumatic stress
reactions, sequelae, and post traumatic stress disorders (PTSDs) (Roberts, 2005). When working
with the ACT model, it is not necessary to use the stages in

To what extent does the Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH)...
Introduction
It was previously assumed that economic investors and regulators (agents) utilised all available
information and thus market prices were a reflection of this information with assets representing
their fundamental value, encouraging the position that agents actions were rational. The 2007 2008
Global Financial Crisis (GFC) is posited to have originated from the notion that all available
information was utilised, causing agents to fail to thoroughly investigate and confirm the true
values of publicly traded securities, leading to a failure to register the presence of an asset price
bubble preceding the GFC (Ball 2009).
This essay will use the notions of EMH to determine the extent to which they can explain the Global

This argument becomes redundant when we consider that investors did know that asset prices
were wrong because the favoured strategies of trading desks and proprietary portfolios were
primarily founded on market mispricing, hence this can be seen as the cause of huge losses in
2007 2008. In this financial crisis, it was the knowledge and recognition of mispricing that were
a probable cause of the GFC as agents were prepared to bid up the price of assets and allow
subprime mortgages to continue to be traded even although common sense would suggest that
100% finance to subprime candidates was destined for failure and would burst the asset bubble as
US mortgage defaults increased alongside foreclosures.
Further to the argument that agents were ignorant of and failed to engage with new information,
the formation of asset price bubbles has been offered as a cause for the GFC. Ball argues that it is
inherently difficult to recognise the presence of an asset price bubble until after the event has
affected the market and even by recognising that prices did not accurately reflect true value, this
could never have indicated a nearing price bubble burst to investors because EMH suggested that
all then available information was

The Effect Of Personality On Teacher Leadership
The Effect of Personality on Teacher Leadership
Mariana Quezada, Harmony Rain, Joshua Neely, Stevie Lang, and Morgan Copas
Flagler College
Methods This study looks at the effect personality has on teacher leadership. In this study, the
independent variable is based off of the Big Five Inventory (BFI), and is a person s T score in
each of the Big Five personality traits. The dependent variable would be the scores in each of the
seven domains on the Teacher Leadership Inventory (TLI). An Analysis of Variability (ANOVA)
will be used to determine if there is a relationship between personality and teacher leadership.
In previous research by Aydin, Balvi, and Alci (2013), it was shown that neuroticismhas negative
effects on all teaching competencies examined, and extroversion is significantly and positively
correlated to teaching competency, so this study will look at the effects of extroversion and
neuroticism on teacher leadership. In this study, it is predicted that there will be a relationship
between personality and leadership, and while Extroversion will have a positive correlation with the
seven teacher leadership domains, neuroticism will have a negative correlation with the seven
teacher leadership domains.
Participants
Participants of the study were from a sample of Flagler students, all of which were members of the
education department, and were selected on a voluntary basis. Compensation received by the
students was extra credit. The mean age of the

Funding In Elections
American elections have always been supported by private money. These funds have come from the
American people, special interest groups, and business. The funding amounts that the last two can
give exceed what most Americans can give. As a result, politician frequently find themselves
beholden to those who can give the most money wealthy donors, special interests, and business.
This has caused many civic groups and political reformists to advocate public funding of elections.
Such public funding is a good idea for three reasons. First, elected officials should represent the best
interests of the people. Wealthy donors and special interests may influence the vote of
representatives by offering campaign support or threatening to withhold... Show more content on

in choosing the nation s future should support this campaign reform. It is a policy that makes

The Los Angeles Riots Of 1992
The Los Angeles riots of 1992, the worst civil disturbance in America, brought to light the
deepening racial and class divisions that were growing in the U.S. The division of between the rich
and the poor, the immigrants and natives, and majority and minority produced an atmosphere of
fear, distrust, and hopelessness. Due to the struggle to gain power by racial and ethnic groups, the
aftermath of the Los Angelesriots was clouded with racial and ethnical conflicts. However, the riots
did increase racial awareness for Korean Americans between the different ethnicities. Dialogue was
opened between people, whom prior to the riot, did not interact with each other. Even so, African
American, Latino, White, and Asian American victims shared their anger and resentment towards
the government for not providing adequate compensation and aid for their losses.
For Korean Americans and immigrants, the Los Angeles riots of 1992 dramatically altered their
course of life in America. They suffered the heaviest losses as a result of the riots with over 2,000
Korean American owned stores being looted, burned, or damaged; this amounted to a gigantic sum
of around $400 million in losses. The riots of 1992 has a deepening economic, psychological, and
ideological impact on Korean Americans that was referred to as a turning point in their long 100
year history of immigration to the United States. According to a survey that was conducted 11
months after the riots, nearly 40% of

The Abc Murders Chapter Summaries
The second book I read over the summer break was a page turning mystery novel, The ABC
Murders, written by one of my favorite authors, Agatha Christie. This book is another installment
of Christie s Detective Hercule Poirot series. In this novel, Poirot shares a letter he received from
the ABC Murderer telling him to watch out for the small town, Andover, on the upcoming 21st,
the following Friday, with his friend Captain Hastings. Poirot had feared that a murder would
occur on that day. However, when Friday finally rolls around, no murder is reported. The pair
meet with Inspector Glen at a small tobacco shop in Andover where the owner, Mrs. Asher, was
found dead at 1am by another policeman. At first they believe it was the husband, Mr.... Show more

detectives to read book about. Most of the characters Christie included in this novel are very well

Agatha Christie. I especially enjoyed the character, Hercule Poirot, because not only is he a great
detective and able to analyze clues and evidence, but he can also use his intelligent mind to help
draw conclusions in his cases, a skill that could, in fact, rival that of Sherlock

effect of pH on amylase activity Essay
Biology Lab Report
Research Question:
Effects of pH on amylase activity
Introduction:
Amylase is an enzyme that is in human s saliva as well as the pancreas. Enzymes are biological
catalysts that speed up a chemical reaction. They break down complex molecules into simple ones.
In this case, amylase converts starches (complex molecule) into simple sugars. That is why foods
like potatoes for example, may taste sweet to us, because they contain starch. The optimum pH for
pancreatic amylase is the pH of 7. In the experiment I have used buffer solutions with the pHs of
2.8, 4 and 6.5. I have also used iodine and starch. Normally, iodine is orange yellow, however when
you add starch to it, the solution will turn blue black. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Tony Kushner s Angels Of America
Tony Kushner s Angels in America and Mwaganu wa Kaggia s Not Ashamed but so Ashamed
both explicitly address the social, religious, and political stigma associated with HIV/AIDS and
homosexuality. The use of split scenes in Angels in America allows Kushner to demonstrate the
similar ways in which both Joe and Prior respond to alienation despite having distinct personal
conflicts. The two characters societal and personal dilemmas are most evidently intertwined in Act
2, Scene 9 of the play. In a similar manner, by using repetition of the phrases I m HIV positive and
I am so ashamed , Kaggia s poem confronts the ironic notion that it is not the nature of illness that
causes suffering; rather it is the persistent stigmatization of HIV/AIDSthat continuously impedes
any attempt to end this epidemic. The dramatic techniques shown in both texts are strategically
used by the authors to emphasize the influences that social, religious, and political stigmatization
have on individuals with HIV/AIDS and those openly disclosing their homosexuality.
Compared to other split scenes in Angels in America , Act 2, Scene 9 is furiously explosive as
both Joe and Prior simultaneously confront their partners with their personal dilemmas. During Joe
s encounter with Harper, he struggles to identify himself as a homosexual. Joe reveals lack of
confidence in his self identity when he says to Harper: You want the truth. This is the truth. I knew
this when I married you...I don t know, I

The Impact Of The Declaration Of Independence
On July 2, 1776, John Adams wrote a letter to his wife Abigail, a date that will be the most
memorable epoch in the history of America (202). On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress
adopts the Declaration of Independence, marked as the official statement of the American position
(202). Thirteen of American colonies severed their political connection to Great Britain. The
Declaration summarized the colonists motivations for seeking freedom an independence. The
formal declaration of independence automatically established the new American revolutionary

Causes Of Hepatitis C
Hepatitis C is a form of liver inflammation caused by the hepacivirus, a member of the Flaviviridae
family. It is a highly infectious blood born disease most commonly transmitted by shared needles
among drug users. According to the CDC it affects approximately 3.9 million Americans and
unfortunately 2.7 million of those individuals are chronically infected. Because the signs and
symptoms may not appear sometimes for up to 20 30 years, many people may die from the chronic
illness as the disease has a higher treatment response in the acute stages. Along with shared needles,
other routes of transmission include tattooing, body piercing, needle sticks in health care setting,
and parental infections during pregnancy and child birth. Uncommonly, transmission can occur
through intercourse with an infected person or sharing personal items, such as razors or
toothbrushes, that may have infected blood on them. There has been question whether breast milk
can cause infection, however, there is currently no evidence of this. Many people may not know
they are infected since it can take years for symptoms to appear and the majority of signs and
symptoms typically are related to other conditions such as stress or influenza. Fever, fatigue,

Power And Pathos Of The Hellenistic Era
Power and Pathos uses 50 absolute masterpieces to tell the story of the spectacular artistic
developments of the Hellenistic era (4th to 1st centuries B.C.), when new forms of expression
began to prevail throughout the Mediterranean basin and beyond. There was an extraordinary leap
forward in the development of techniques to form the first instance of globalization of the language
of art in the known world. Art was in effect, going international. This exhibit has gathered together
some of the most spectacular ancient bronzesculptures that still exists today. It displays
monumental life sized figures of Gods, Heroes, Athletes and rulers. Ancient cultures invented
bronze. They discovered that making an alloy of copper and tin produced a strong metal that
could hold great detail and objects cast with it can easily be reproduced. The ancient Greeks prized
bronze for its visual worth and they used it create statueof the human body. Unfortunately, because
bronze is a metal that can be cast and is expensive, it can also be melted down. Hence, large
bronze statues have rarely survived from antiquity, as most were melted down so that their
valuable metal can be reused. The ones that are still preserved today are mostly the same ones that
were either lost at sea or buried underground.
This paper in particular discusses two of the statues exhibited at the Power and Pathos exhibit at
The Getty Center in Los Angeles. It analyses and compares the statuette of Alexander the Great on

The Debate Of Marriage And Pure Relationships
Throughout the centuries, America has shifted to the influx of culture. To accommodate to the
change, terms, values, and beliefs have had to be modified. One of the many value modifications
time has undergone, is the importance of marriage. One sociologist at John Hopkins University,
Andrew J. Cherlin, says, that since the 1900s the socially accepted meaning of marriageand pure
relationships has sequentially been altered to what it is today. Marriage has shifted from a pure,
companionate relationship into more of an individualized, optional one. In order to understand
the extent and reason for the transition, it is important to understand marriage as it was, as it is
now, and then how that has affected the concept of sexuality. Genesis 2:18 states, it is not good
that man should be alone: I will make him a helper comparable to him. This verse tends to be
used in every marriage based debate, to the point that it becomes very clichГ©, however, if one
were to study it its truth would be evident. Kay Daigle, Founder of Beyond Ordinary Woman
Ministries wrote in an excerpt called God s Design for Sexual Intimacy, Marriage is God s
design and institution. God created it for relationship, close companionship and mutual support.
Marriage, as a sacred vow, was designed for the coming together of one man and one woman.
Human beings were not created for isolation or loneliness. This is evident in every day life, with
how people are always looking for ways to be accepted. All

Complementary And Alternative Medicine Or Cam
Complementary and alternative medicine or CAM is a large and diverse set of systems of
diagnosis, treatment, and prevention based on philosophies and techniques other than those used in
conventional Western medicine, often derived from traditions of medical practice used in other
(non Western) cultures. Such practices may be described as alternative that is, existing as a body
separate from and as a replacement for conventional Western medicine, or complementary, that is,
used in addition to conventional Western practice. CAM is characterized by its focus on the whole
person as a unique individual, on the energy of the body and its influence on health and disease, on
the healing power of nature and the mobilization of the body s own resources to heal itself, and on
the treatment of the underlying causes, rather than symptoms, of disease. Many of the techniques
used are the subject of controversy and have not been validated by controlled studies (
Complementary and alternative , 2009). In essence, complementary refers to unconventional
therapy used together with conventional medicine and alternative refers to an unconventional
approach used in the place of conventional medicine. Some examples of CAM include chiropractic
medicine, yoga, meditation, diet therapies, acupuncture, herbal medicine such as vitamin and
mineral supplements and therapeutic touch therapy. They will either be classified as
complementary or alternative based on whether the method

Thomas Hobbes Controversial Beliefs
Thomas Hobbes had one of the most controversial beliefs of any of the philosophers. Some see
him as a cynicist. His policies on human behavior and social customs lead many people to believe
that he is a grumpy man inexperienced with the world. This is not true. It is thought that the
troublesome experiences of his life influenced his work, the English Civil War being one of them.

Hobbes grew up to be a very intelligent man, studied at oxford, and then began to tutor young

Richard Lerderer s Influence Of The English Language
Some of the examples Richard Lerderer gives to explain the widespread influence of the English
language are English has acquired the largest vocabulary of all the world s languages . He Also
says half of the world s books are written in English, and majority of international calls are made in
English . Another important example is that English is universally spoken. I do believe that English
is a crazy language. It is a language that is constantly being changed as far as the urban dictionary
is concerned. Phrases are used by younger people that are not literal. For example Lerderer says
How can a Slim chance and a fat chance be the same? Slim chance is a catch phrase that most
English speakers use to describe less of a chance. If you look it up in a dictionary you will not
find it there. Chance are you will find it in the urban dictionary. It is not proper English, but if you
say it to someone that is fluent in the English language they will know exactly what you mean....

It also has so many different aspects to it, English can be spoken properly and improperly
depending of how you use it. Lerderer gives different examples so that we can understand it. How
it can be misinterpreted by someone who is learning English and doesn t understand the diversity
of the English language, depending on their society. Yes I do believe that Lerderer s essay
represents the principal because although the words of the English language are the same even

Easyjet s Business Model Aims
EasyJet s business model aims at using their cost advantage and leading network positions in
strong markets to convey point to point cheap fares and operational efficiency. It provides friendly
services to customers and delivers market leading returns to shareholders, by sustaining a dominant
European network at primary airports, with the main objective of making travel easy and
affordable for customers. Despite the fact that, low priced airlinemodel has been really favoured in
recent years, there are still key issues identified with EasyJet s business model which are; it s
cost base, limitation of airports and oil prices. Firstly, it s cost base. The low priced industry is
highly competitive with various brands contending for the same customer base, which has led to
price battles and other actions that makes it challenging for EasyJet to keep up due to concern
over cost involved in trying to cut fares further or offering any luxury. Secondly, Easy jet stays
away from big airports like London Heathrow airport to cut down cost of landing. However, this
makes customers who live nearby the airports uncomfortable, since time and money are wasted to
travel to easy jet landing airports. Lastly, due to fluctuations in the Middle East, impact of
increased oil prices, cost of production is increased and this eliminates profit margin therefore
customers have to pay more.

Rkki Tikki Movie And Movie Analysis
Rikk tikk tikki tikki tchk! (Kipling Pg 143). This will be comparing the story Rikki Tikki Tavi
and the movie Rikki Tikki Tavi. The similarities and differences will be how the family never
gives Rikki Tikki a name, How the snake keeps his story, and Rikki Tikki acts in the bathroom
with Nag. To begin in the Movie Rikki Tikki is given the name by the son (Teddy) unlike the
Book. In the movie after finding him, they take him back to the house and warmed him up, then
the boy decided to call him Rikki Tikki. But in the book (Kipling pg 144) there is no such scene,
all he does is go around the house and gets fed. Throughout the whole book there is no mention of
the family saying his name. Even after Nag sneaks in the washroom the book just says It s the
mongooseagain, Alice; the little chap has saved our lives now. (Kipling Pg 151). This is also
shown in the movie word for word, but the only parts in which they say the name Rikki Tikki is
the parts they added, for instance, right after killing Nag the mother in the movie says Oh, Rikki
you are so brave and beautiful . Then is the story (Kipling Pg 151) it says Then Teddy s mother
came in with a very white face and saw what was left of Nag, and Rikki tikki dragged himself to
Teddy s bedroom and spent half the rest of the night shaking himself tenderly to find out whether
he really was broken into forty pieces, as he fancied. no word even relating to Rikki being brave or

(2010). This information is obtained through financial reports, complaint records, and ongoing
client surveys. The second performance measure I would use would be responsive
communication. This measures satisfaction surveys retention, absenteeism, and vacancy
measures. These measures will let us know what is going within the organization. Some
examples are percent of loyal associates, percent of RN positions are vacant, and tenure of
associates. The concept of this is associate satisfaction, retention, and complaints. In order to
provide excellent care, we will need to know what the staff is feeling. Happy employees mean
better performance which equals better patient care. For the third measure, I would focus on
corporate design. Corporate design measures market share, efficacy of care, per capita cost of
care, improvements unmet or delayed and variation in internal performance. The concept behind
this measure is to find the extent of service, uniformity of performance, and competitor relations.
Surveys are a big part of obtaining all this information and provide a great deal of knowledge on
how well this organization is performing.

Oliver Burkeman
In his article, The Power of Negative Thinking, Oliver Burkeman discusses the realities behind
excessive optimism and the benefits to negative thinking. Specifically, Burkeman argues that
positive thinking hinders the preparation and motivation necessary to tackle actual real world
problems whereas negative thinking allows for such preparation. His argument s strengths come
from his constant use of logic in regards to his evidence whether it be the fire walkers in the first
paragraph or the opinions of Barbara Ehrenreich in the paragraph nine. In short, Burkeman does a
superb job of championing the benefits of pessimismthrough his criticism on positive thinking.
At a first glance, the holistic impression that one gets from Burkeman s article could easily deal
with the one sidedness of his argument. It certainly is true that he did little to express the merits of
positive thinking, but I argue that his acknowledgement of the mindset of positive thinkers adds to
his overall effective refutation of the counter argument. In paragraph two, Burkeman (2012)
mentions the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In paragraph eight, he defines positive thinking as not a not an act of cheerful optimism but as a
stressful effort to stomp out any trace of negativity. (Burkeman 2012) In paragraph three this idea
is expressed through the study with the dehydrated subjects. The test group asked to visualize
water were under more stress compared to those who did not visualize anything. (Burkeman, 2012)
In this way, optimism created a false sense of reality and thereby created more anxiety for the test
group. In a situation like this Burkeman insinuated that the opposite would be true for negative
thinkers. A person who pictured the worst would be more driven to take the appropriate action to
rehydrate as opposed to a person who took no action based on the assumption that things would

The Respectable and Noble Actions of Gimpel Illustrated in...
Gimpel the Fool , by Isaac Bashevis Singer, tells the tale of a Jewish baker living in the
traditional Jewish village of Frampol. Raised an orphan, Gimpel never had anyone to stop him
when others were leading him into being fooled. As he grew up, his gullibility earned him the title
the Fool , and the entire village of Frampol referred to him as such. But was he truly the fool
everyone made him up to be? In his youth, Gimpel was picked on and made fun of for being
easily fooled. Gimpel, however, was rarely unaware of his peers intent. Gimpel simply preferred to
avoid confrontation and simply let them take advantage of [him] (96). This purposeful show of

knows very well that the townspeople are tricking him, but once again he chooses to go along with
it because if it was true that the messiah had come and he didn t go out, he would have missed an
immensely important event. Then he would truly have been a fool. Then, after he visits the
rabbinical court, the rabbi s daughter tells him that it is the law to kiss the wall after every visit.
Some may think Gimpel foolish for kissing the wall, however, there is no harm in kissing it
anyway, and it is more logical to just kiss it than risk offending the rabbis and others. Then the
villagers proposed to Gimpel that he marry Elka, a woman known to be a prostitute as well as
having borne a bastard child, whom the villagers said was her younger brother. Gimpel was
outraged and said that he would never marry that whore (97). Then they accuse him of giving

Construction and Demolition Waste
Briefing Paper: Construction and Demolition Waste
Construction and demolition waste (CDW) is a significant issue in New Zealand. Teo and
Loosemore (2001) maintain: Levels of waste within the construction industry need to be reduced for
environmental and economic reasons. Changing people s wasteful behaviour can make a
significant contribution (pp.741). This paper defines the CDW issue, significant stakeholders,
relevant ethical theories and costs.
CDW has increased as construction volumes have risen generally, and following natural disasters.
For example, the Canterbury Earthquakes generated a major increase in CDW. Major damage to
buildings, rock falls and landslips, liquefaction and major infrastructure damage has left an
estimated $7.1 billion [Earthquake Commission] EQC bill, says Mackenzie (2011 pp.33). The
Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA, n.d.) estimated 8 million tonnes of CDW.
CERA (n.d.) points to the construction industry and local authorities working together to find and
quickly implement new solutions for recycling or reusing waste.
More generally, Level Organisation (2013) noted that demolition and construction processes are
the most significant producer of waste as opposed to other stages of buildings lives. Much CDW
is seen to be preventable: Most of this dumping of construction waste is unnecessary it has been
demonstrated that simply by sorting waste, at least half of it could be diverted from landfills (Level
Organisation, 2013).

Dystopian Differences In The Hunger Games And The Hunger...
Dystopian films and books have become popular over the past few years. These tend to reflect
the way in which society could possibly soon turn if expecting extremes. Dystopian literature and
media also tend to have utopian elements as well. While the societies in these works are strict
and controlling, they do offer something that our society could possibly benefit from. Divergent
has this element. The population is broken up into five factions that represent the different types
of people in society and separate those who would fight easily due to their personal morals. The
Hunger Games on the other hand (when modern society crumbled) they punished their citizens
for fighting the government. While yes there was a chance for riches in the Hunger Games, it
took risking your life to get it. In addition, if one did win the Hunger Games they would have an
extremely easy life due to riches and a free luxury house. Divergent does not have this part, as its
utopian aspect is the fact different ideals are separated from each other. Utopian literature is a
reflectionthat is a perceived direction society may go. In these stories, mirrorsare a device used to
symbolically state the universe of the filmis a reflection not a reality. The Hunger Games series is
based of the book trilogy of the same name. In this series, the Hunger Games are a pageant based
on a punishment for a rebellion that occurred approximately 100 years before. In this pageant, two
tributes are chosen per district

Energy Vehicles And Electric Vehicles
Consumers are constantly surrounded by advertisements and these advertisements play a significant
role in affecting people s daily decision making. Automobiles continue to be one of the fastest
growing industries, especially in the United States; therefore, advertisements are crucial and are
constantly changing to meet the requirements and needs of the consumers. In order to target the
desired consumers and market effectively, the advertising techniques need to be different from
traditional gasoline vehicles because the consumers must be able to compare the types of vehicles
out in the market and find the type that best suits their demand. In this case, consumers are
contemplating between traditional gasoline vehicles and electric vehicles (EV). There are three
ways of advertising that carefully examine how each type of vehiclecan satisfy the specific demands
of their potential customers; therefore, automobilecompanies must compete endlessly to come up
with advertisements that target consumers right at the heart focusing on manufactures ethics,
consumers psychology, and trends. Electric vehicles advertisements target consumers demands by
including some of the advantages of EV in the advertisements. These advantages include wordings
like zero emission and driving the future. The specific wordings are able to imprint positive
qualities of EV into consumers minds. It puts EV in a better position than traditional vehicles as it

Limitations Of Modulation In Isi
Due to the spectacular growth of the wireless services and demands during the last years, the need
of a modulation technique that could transmit high data rates at high bandwidth efficiency strongly
imposed. The problem of the inter symbol interference (ISI) introduced by the frequency
selectivity of the channel became even more imperative once the desired transmission rates
dramatically grew up. Using adaptive equalization techniques at the receiver in order to combat the
ISI effects could be the solution, but there are practical difficulties in operating this equalization in
real time conditions at several Mb/s with compact, low cost hardware. ORTHOGONAL
FREQUANCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING is a promising candidate that eliminates the need...

Slow data rate (and long symbol duration) on each subchannel merely means that the effects of
ISI are severely reduced. This is in fact the basic idea that lies behind ORTHOGONAL
FREQUANCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING . Transmitting the data among a large number of
closely spaced subcarriers accounts for the frequency division multiplexing part of the name.
Unlike the classical frequency division multiplexing technique, ORTHOGONAL
FREQUANCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING will provide much higher bandwidth efficiency.
This is due to the fact that in ORTHOGONAL FREQUANCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING the
spectra of individual subcarriers are allowed to overlap. In fact, the carriers are carefully chosen
to be orthogonal one another. As it is well known, the orthogonal signals do not interfere, and
they can be separated at the receiver by correlation techniques. The orthogonality of the
subcarriers accounts for the first part of the ORTHOGONAL FREQUANCY DIVISION
MULTIPLEXING name. In a mobile radio environment, the signal is carried by a large number of
paths with different strength and delays. Such multipath dispersion of the signal is commonly
referred as channel induced ISI and yields the same kind of ISI distortion caused by an electronic
filter [2]. In fact, the multipath dispersion leads to an upper limitation of the transmission rate in
order to avoid the frequency selectivity of the channel or the need of a complex adaptive
equalization in the receiver. In

The Picture Of Dorian Gray, And The Phantom Of The Beholder
There is an old saying that declares: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder . This suggests that
beauty is subjective, and lacks a concrete contextualized definition; what is perceived by one
individual as attractive, may be, by another, considered unattractive. Regardless of the subjective
nature of beauty, society still conforms to beauty ideals, which are propagated and fueled by the
media. The beauty ideals that are self imposed by society are problematic because they are
unattainable, and galvanize society to reject or promote people based on their outward appearance
and hold people s inner beauty in less regard. The imbalance between physical (outward)
appearance and inward is a key theme in both The Picture of Dorian Gray, and The Phantom of the
Opera. In both novels, the main characters are subject to judgment that is overwhelmingly directed
at their outward appearance, and we see an over emphasis of the superficial, which ultimately leads
to their downfall. Another important thematic element present in both novels is that the main
characters have conflicting dual personalities that have changing roles as the story progresses. A
contrasting thematic element in both books is the excessive praise that the main character in The
Picture of Dorian Gray received, and the excessive criticism that the main character in The Phantom
of the Opera received, both leading to negative outcomes, and the characters ultimate demise.
Both the characters of Erik and Dorian in The

Odin Beliefs
There are times that we will encounter meeting, seeing, or speaking to someone who practices a
different religion, or even someone who is the same religion but just practices it differently than
ourselves. My project I interviewed someone who practices a religion different than my own and
look for any differences than myself. The person I interviewed was a gentleman who practices the
religionof Odinism, which is a religion that is considered polytheistic (the belief in many gods) with
the highest ranking godbeing Odin. The mere definition of someone who is an Odinist is the
worship of the Norse God Odin; someone who is primarily dedicated to Odin but can also
sometimes be used interchangeably to the Asatru and Heathen. The focus is on Odin... Show more

The Relationship between Strategic Planning and Effective...
Critically evaluate significance strategic planning relates effective leadership
Introduction
Leadership is the set of capabilities that a person has to influence the minds of people in a group
of persons, making this team to work with enthusiasm, but the reality is different, in achieving
goals and objectives. (Koys, 2001, pp26 33) It is also understood as the ability to take initiative,
manage, hold, promote, encourage, motivate and evaluate a group or team. (Goffee and Jones,
2000, pp117 28) In business management leadership is the exercise of executive activity in a project
effectively and efficiently, whether personal or institutional management (within the administrative
process of the organization).
Literature review
In the analysis of organizational development is necessary to have a good agent of change, which
is a person who deliberately acts on the environment to facilitate or promote the implementation of
the projected change. In this regard, Block (2003, pp45 49), he adds any person or system that
contributes through direct or indirect to the implementation of change is a change agent.
However, the dictionary of Aurelio Buarque de Holanda, defines the word agent, as one who
practices the action, acting, author, originator, sponsor, promoter, promoter. But that makes sense to
adapt the Cameron et al. (1999, pp4 9), we can say that the agent of organizational development, is
he able to develop within the organization, attitudes and processes that enable

Search And Seizure Exceptions . There Are Several Exceptions
Search and seizure exceptions There are several exceptions to the principles of search and
seizure. The plain view doctrine is an exception where evidence that is visible during a police
search, even without a warrant, may be seized. This may be used in situations where a crime is
in progress and an officer enters a residence. Any item within plain view that may be illegal will
fall within this exception. It may also be used during a traffic stop. However, this exception is
allowable only for instances when an officer sees the evidence while also having a legal right to
be in the viewing area (Schmalleger, 2014, p. 133). Although, one important case from the Supreme
Court, Harris v. United States (1968) involved an officer who... Show more content on

This exception comes into play when an officer either conducts a search and/or seizes property
based on the belief that it is within a lawful situation. However, it may later be determined that
the search warrant may be ruled as illegal. If the officer had perceived the search and seizure was
being conducted with reasonable good faith, an exception can exist to the exclusionary rule
(Schmalleger, 2014, p. 131). This was determined in the case of United States v. Leon (1984)
when the Supreme Court determined that the officer had performed due diligence in obtaining a
warrant, yet it later proved to be invalid due to lack of probable cause. Instead of applying the
fruits of the poisonous tree doctrine, the court indicated the officer acted in good faith and that an
exception was to be enacted. Exclusionary rule cases The exclusionary rule, handed down by the
Supreme Court in 1914, is a court made constitutional requirement regarding evidence obtained
during search and seizure (Walker Hemmens, 2010, p. 89). Since it is not specified in the fourth
amendment, the court used the exclusionary rule to allow or exclude evidence according to the
rules covering search and seizure. The case that initially brought forth the exclusionary rule was

An Analysis of Marketing Strategy at Bass Pro Shops
An Analysis of Marketing Strategy at Bass Pro Shops
Introduction
Today, Bass Pro Shops is a multi billion dollar enterprise that specializes in sporting and hunting
equipment. The company s current position is a far cry from its modest beginnings in 1971 when
the company s founder, Johnny Morris began selling fishing lures on just two shelves in his father
s liquor store. With fifty two retail outlets as well as a number of Outdoor World superstores in the
United States and Canada, a user friendly Web site and extensive mail catalog sales, Bass Pro Shops
has become a leading sporting and hunting goods in North America today. To determine how the
company achieved this impressive growth, this paper provides an analysis of Bass Pro Shop s
corporate strategy using Ansoff s Growth Strategies and Porter s generic strategies for growth, the
company s market segmentation and marketing mix. Finally, an assessment of appropriate Bass Pro
Shop s marketing metrics is followed by a summary of the research and important findings in the
conclusion.
Review and Analysis
1. Corporate Strategy: To date, Bass Pro Shop s (hereinafter alternatively the company ) corporate
strategy has been to focus on the growing wildlife recreation market. In this regard, Henderson and

The median for both histograms and box plots show that the median is 749 dollars for iPhone

users. People who using iPhone pay extra 20 dollars for phone, where Samsung users pay less but,
for different models. Based on visualizng histograms I think there are more Samsung users than
iPhone because Maximum for Samsung is 849.99 dollars.
The data that I have is accurate because by looking at the histogram the graphs are perfectly
skewed and, the data make sense, if I compare the data to the median and the IQR. And to find
IQR subtract Quartile 3 from Quartile 1. The purpose of using mean value to see if the graph is
symmetric or not but, in my case I do not have symmetrical graph or Boxplot, because it is
sensitive to outliers. I choose to use the IQR instead of the standard deviation because it shows
what is below the 1st quartile and above the 3rd quartile. To summarize, median and IQR are the
best option because they resistant to outliers.
In resolution, the distribution of the data shows that iPhone users have lower cost to Samsung

Comparing The Boat And Warren Pryor By Alden Nowlan
The Controversy of Compliance
Both The Boat by Alistair MacLeod and Warren Pryor by Alden Nowlan teach an important, if not
controversial, message. Parents consistently agreeing with one another, regardless of their
intentions, can be detrimental to their children.
Parental love of their children is not an unusual phenomenon, and as per the norm, the parents of
both protagonists follow suit. They have the best intentions for their children and do what they
believe to be the best course of action. In Warren s familial life every pencil [means] a sacrifice ,
yet that does not stop his parents from board[ing] him at school . They love him so much they are

Conversely, the Professor lives the life he wanted. As a child, he had to make a choice, stay in
the world of the sea or leave for the world of the book. He made his decision and went to work as
a professor at a great Midwestern University . He was given the opportunity to choose his own
path, and to shape his life into the one that he wants.
The fundamental factor, that determines the differences in the boy s lives, is whether their parents
constantly agree with one another or not. Warren s parents always act as one unit; his parents
[board] him at school , [t]hey blushed or the meagre acreage that bore them down . In every case,
they are seen as a singular force, which makes decisions together. On the other hand, the Professor s
parents could not act more differently. The motherkeeps her house in immaculate order while the
father leaves his room in disruptive chaos . They are polar opposites, the mother [is] of the sea
and of the physical world, while the father [is] of the ... book and of knowledge and learning.
The biggest difference is that of the parents tolerance. The mother does not accept her daughters
husbands as they [are] not of her people , while the father allows his children to chose their own

The Adolescent Stage Essay
The adolescent stage is one in which the human being develops from being a child into an adult, or
from puberty to legal adulthood. The stage consists of the transition in both the physical and the
psychological contexts ( Adolescence | Psychology Today , 2016). The transaction of the adolescent
is the relationship between the environments and the person (Bosma Kunnen, 2001). This
interaction influences the adolescents development as they are in the stage of their lives whereby
the trying to attain autonomy of their lives from their parents/ caregivers (Bosma Kunnen, 2001).
To achieve development to emerge into adulthood there are many identity statuses one must go
through in order to achieve a sucessful development (Waterman, 1999). These identity statuses are
influenced by the psychosocial enviornment of the person and these are represented in identity
processes (Bosma Kunnen, 2001). Identity processes are immeadiate processing of data that affects
the identity and actually holds the identity at stake (Bosma Kunnen, 2001). However they are the
building blocks to developmental processes which is the identity growth and change over the
human life span (Bosma Kunnen, 2001). In the adolescent stage development is influenced by
many factors in transaction. Looking at the whole context is important so that the identity

Theme Of Cannery Row
From the stock market crashing almost rock bottom to banks filing for bankruptcy, the Great
Depression was a time of economic hardship for many people. Steinbeck s Cannery Row depicts a
small community of misfits isolated from most of society. The novel follows the stories of these
characters, interrupting itself occasionally with a snippet of another tale from within the
community. Cannery Row explores the theme of yin yang within a community. Henri, a painter,
wants to maintain the image of a painter instead of actually painting. Dora, the head of a brothel,
balances running a tight ship while taking care of her girls at the same time. Doc, a scientist who
lives in his lab, has a mixture of conflicting personalities. Throughout the novel,... Show more

Doc is a popular community member that s there whenever anyone need him. He is described
by the narrator of the novel as half Christ and half satyr (Steinbeck 28). By describing Doc as
half Christ, Steinbeck shows that Doc is very admired within the community. Many of the
young community members like Frankie look up to him as a god because of his wise
knowledge and he is kind to everyone. By describing Doc as a satyr, it shows of his imperfect
human side. Similar to satyrs, Doc is an alcoholic and a player. Steinbeck s use of juxtaposition
by showing both Doc s strengths and vices highlights the idea that everyone has multiple sides to
their personality. Another example is when Doc recalls a poet s recommendation to try a beer
milkshake because he loved beer so much. He had wondered what a beer milkshake would taste
like. The idea gagged him but he couldn t let it alone (Steinbeck 103). The beer milkshake is a
metaphor for the juxtaposition of his personality. A milkshake is something that most people like
and is very sweet and innocent. A beer is a form of sin because it is alcohol. By combining the two
together, Steinbeck highlights the contrasting forces of personality within Doc. The fact that Doc
has both strengths and weaknesses and that there are clashing character traits within Doc
demonstrates that everyone

Body Imagery In Art Analysis
Hollander discusses a new tradition of painting half length portraits and first leads the reader
through the gradual move to more erotic and sensual images portrayed in artworks. She presents
works by Titian and Tintoretto and explains that artists of the period portrayed real people in
exotic poses, sometimes with bare chested men or semi exposed women s breasts, and titled their
works as mythical characters. Throughout the chapter, the author leads the reader through a
variety of images that show the gradual progression of exposed skin in artworks, from draped
modern garments assuming folds of classical draperies, which revealed parts of the body, to
works such as Caravaggio s Boy Bitten by a Lizard (1571 1610) where the attention on the... Show

She describes how an abundance of drapery surrounding the sitter expressed wealth, or as seen in
Francisco de Zurbarian s Saint Serapion (1598 1664), monochromatic heavy woolen garments add
a sense of emotional burden to what is already seen in the facial and body imagery. Hollander also
describes how artist Johann Liss uses bright, hectic, swirling drapery to add drama and a sexual
distraction to the murder scene depicted in his painting Judith in the Tent of Holofernes (1595
1631). In all the examples Hollander presents, she illustrates how fabric and draperies were used by
artists of the late sixteenth early seventeenth century to evoke a particular emotion relative to the
subject matter and not just for depicting utilitarian clothing to cover the body.
Ending the chapter is a discussion of the Hollywood photographers use of the ВЅ portrait which
often depicts exposed skin and draped garments to convey sensuality and the sitters consciousness
of one s beauty. According to Hollander, this shows that the Baroque spirit in portraiture has held on

pickers spread over two shifts) at the new rate of 720 books an hour the system could run 24hrs

than adequate for the new system. To handle the new work load manually Cango would have to
employ 16 pickers across three shifts to accommodate the increase in demand. There would need to
be extra terminals added.
Though the projections for the fall quarter look promising the resurge us of books and CD s is
unlikely. Recent reports have sales of books falling as much as 34% over last year and the increase
of eBooks over 300%. (Wolman, 2011) It also has CD sales being cut in half over the past decade.
The rise of people buying digital music and streaming music is significant.
Without question the new technology can be paid for by this fall s increase in revenues alone. At
1.5 million per system, it takes 3 million to install the systems. Our revenues projected for the fall
is 31 million with net income being approximately 10% of sales revenue the investment will be
paid back almost immediately. The question still remains if it makes sense long term.
If traditional book sales continue to fall at their present rate of 34% annually we will be out of the
traditional books selling in three years. The CD sales are declining at a similar rate.

Application Of The Server Register A Callback
Answer] When the client caches the data, the server register a callback, this enables the client to
be informed about the data being modified. If a modification has taken place the server does not
register the callback which means that it informs the client that the cached data is stale. The
cached data is canceled by the client so that it can be accessed by local cache the next time it is
accessed; the local cache will get the information from the server by installing the callback. This
is the performance and correctness improvement over having the client periodically ask the
server if its cached data is only the current data or not. The server can broadcast the changes to
all the clients that cache the data, however, this approach fails when the server is not positive
that is the clients will need the new data in the future. When a server hands out a callback on a
file to a client, the server promises to contact the client before invalidating old copies of the file
which might be cached at the client this is also known as breaking the callback, the client can use
cached copies of the file freely if the callback has not been broken. 3. Consider a distributed file

than entire files. Can the client in this system have a cache consistency problem? If so, suggest two

Stormbreaker
I just finished reading Chapter three of Stormbreaker , and it wasn t as confusing as the other
chapters. In fact, it answered my very first question since I looked at the book. My question was
why is the book named Stormbreaker? Once I read that Stormbreaker was actually a file, it was
as if the words leaded off the page. From what I read I think that this file must be important. I
don t know how important, but I have a feeling that it is going to play a big part in the story.
Something else I noticed after reading Chapter three was that Alex had more than one problem.
I didn t really understand his problems until I was done with whole Chapter. His first problem
was that he had just uncovered one of his uncle s file that was supposed to be classified. His second
problem was he had now realized that his uncle really didn t work at bank. If I was in Alex s

  • 2. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Special Needs Pupils In Rantsu the approach for the special needs pupils is different from the other two analysed schools: they have special classes, some of them are stable, others are used just in some periods. The decision to make special classes can be based on the presence of serious cases of disabilities or can be a way to help these special needs pupils to have a more personalized study path. Even if it could be a good method to teach them, it could be dangerous to isolate these pupils from the others. The other pupils will not face the presence of them, and these pupils will not be pushed to communicate to the others, that will be necessary in their future life. There are pros and cons in this approach and it s hard to define a line between help and exclusion. It permits to isolate pupils that could damage the others with their ... The most interesting method used by the teacher was to follow the pupils knowledge to build the lesson together. In that way pupils were completely involved in the explanation and they were all active. The teacher used in a clever way the web, searching on it whatever pupils came up with, giving them more information about their topics and images of them. This method is not often used in Italian schools, where the most common method is sadly still the traditional lesson. It will be really necessary to change it and take Finland as an example for it. • 3. A Basic Overview of Paganism Essay examples Religion is about creation, and for that reason religion should be about the earth. Laurie Cabot. One might see hundreds of faces from different races, gender, and pop cultures. But behind each face is a brain, with spirit and personal beliefs, like religion. When many Americans believe that everyone is Christian or Catholic, some people practice an ancient religion. This religion, commonly known as the umbrella term Paganism is back on the move with a contemporary feel. Paganism is an earth based religion, focusing around the elements and nature. Throughout this paper Paganism will be explained, along with two of its well known sections, how Pagans worship, and Pagan holidays. Paganism has many sub cultures, such as Wiccan, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some follow the Goddess theory. The Goddess theory states that there is just one Goddess who rules over. Many depict her as Mother Earth, holding plants and caring for animals and humans alike. Pictures and art of the Goddess is normally a pregnant woman, to show how every life comes from her womb. Women normally follow this path because of the matriarchal feel of this path. The Mother Goddess is worshiped through the lunar cycle and also depicted by the waxing, full and waning moon. Other Pagans bring ancient religions into contemporary worship, such as Greek, Roman, or Egyptian mythology. In these different mythologies, there are many gods and goddesses with different jobs of everyday life, like the Greek god Helios who drove the sun with his chariot around the world everyday. Though the gods all have different names from the different cultures, they re all about the same deities. The Greeks and Romans learned from the Egyptians, using cultural diffusion. In everyday life, Pagans who chose this path will pray to certain deities for help or guidance on what they rule over. Often, Pagans will choose a couple certain deities to focus their worship on, whether because of a spiritual bond or because of a coven s pre chosen path. Paganism is actually a word that s used to describe the whole group of New Age religions, like NeoPaganism, Wiccan and others. NeoPaganism is the contemporary worship of older Pagan beliefs and using old rituals in today s culture. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Abc Model Of Crisis Intervention Analysis The ABC Model of Crisis Intervention is a method of conducting very brief mental health interviews with clients whose functioning level has decreased following a psychosocial stressor (Kanel, 2018). The most effective way to use the ABC model is four six weeks after the stressor. Cultural humility and trauma informed care are the key points in this model as well as providing community referrals and other resources when using the ABC model. According to Kanel (2018), the focus of this method is identifying the cognitions of the client as they relate to the precipitating event and then altering them to help decrease unmanageable feelings. The first known mention of this method was in 1968 but then it was further developed by Kanel over the course of 30 years. Within the ABC method, there are three approaches. The three approaches are achieving rapport, boiling the problem down to basics, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This model integrates various assessment and triage protocols with three primary crisis oriented intervention strategies: the seven stage crisis intervention model, psychological debriefing, and trauma support services (Roberts, 2005). Breaking down the ACT model is as follows; A is for assessment/appraisal of immediate medical needs, threats to public safety and property damage (Roberts, 2005). • 6. To what extent does the Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH)... Introduction It was previously assumed that economic investors and regulators (agents) utilised all available information and thus market prices were a reflection of this information with assets representing their fundamental value, encouraging the position that agents actions were rational. The 2007 2008 Global Financial Crisis (GFC) is posited to have originated from the notion that all available information was utilised, causing agents to fail to thoroughly investigate and confirm the true values of publicly traded securities, leading to a failure to register the presence of an asset price bubble preceding the GFC (Ball 2009). This essay will use the notions of EMH to determine the extent to which they can explain the Global ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This argument becomes redundant when we consider that investors did know that asset prices were wrong because the favoured strategies of trading desks and proprietary portfolios were primarily founded on market mispricing, hence this can be seen as the cause of huge losses in 2007 2008. In this financial crisis, it was the knowledge and recognition of mispricing that were a probable cause of the GFC as agents were prepared to bid up the price of assets and allow subprime mortgages to continue to be traded even although common sense would suggest that 100% finance to subprime candidates was destined for failure and would burst the asset bubble as US mortgage defaults increased alongside foreclosures. Further to the argument that agents were ignorant of and failed to engage with new information, the formation of asset price bubbles has been offered as a cause for the GFC. Ball argues that it is inherently difficult to recognise the presence of an asset price bubble until after the event has affected the market and even by recognising that prices did not accurately reflect true value, this could never have indicated a nearing price bubble burst to investors because EMH suggested that all then available information was ... • 7. The Effect Of Personality On Teacher Leadership The Effect of Personality on Teacher Leadership Mariana Quezada, Harmony Rain, Joshua Neely, Stevie Lang, and Morgan Copas Flagler College Methods This study looks at the effect personality has on teacher leadership. In this study, the independent variable is based off of the Big Five Inventory (BFI), and is a person s T score in each of the Big Five personality traits. The dependent variable would be the scores in each of the seven domains on the Teacher Leadership Inventory (TLI). An Analysis of Variability (ANOVA) will be used to determine if there is a relationship between personality and teacher leadership. In previous research by Aydin, Balvi, and Alci (2013), it was shown that neuroticismhas negative effects on all teaching competencies examined, and extroversion is significantly and positively correlated to teaching competency, so this study will look at the effects of extroversion and neuroticism on teacher leadership. In this study, it is predicted that there will be a relationship between personality and leadership, and while Extroversion will have a positive correlation with the seven teacher leadership domains, neuroticism will have a negative correlation with the seven teacher leadership domains. Participants Participants of the study were from a sample of Flagler students, all of which were members of the education department, and were selected on a voluntary basis. The funding amounts that the last two can give exceed what most Americans can give. As a result, politician frequently find themselves beholden to those who can give the most money wealthy donors, special interests, and business. This has caused many civic groups and political reformists to advocate public funding of elections. Such public funding is a good idea for three reasons. • 9. The Los Angeles Riots Of 1992 The Los Angeles riots of 1992, the worst civil disturbance in America, brought to light the deepening racial and class divisions that were growing in the U.S. The division of between the rich and the poor, the immigrants and natives, and majority and minority produced an atmosphere of fear, distrust, and hopelessness. Due to the struggle to gain power by racial and ethnic groups, the aftermath of the Los Angelesriots was clouded with racial and ethnical conflicts. However, the riots did increase racial awareness for Korean Americans between the different ethnicities. Dialogue was opened between people, whom prior to the riot, did not interact with each other. Even so, African American, Latino, White, and Asian American victims shared their anger and resentment towards the government for not providing adequate compensation and aid for their losses. For Korean Americans and immigrants, the Los Angeles riots of 1992 dramatically altered their course of life in America. They suffered the heaviest losses as a result of the riots with over 2,000 Korean American owned stores being looted, burned, or damaged; this amounted to a gigantic sum of around $400 million in losses. The riots of 1992 has a deepening economic, psychological, and ideological impact on Korean Americans that was referred to as a turning point in their long 100 year history of immigration to the United States. In this novel, Poirot shares a letter he received from the ABC Murderer telling him to watch out for the small town, Andover, on the upcoming 21st, the following Friday, with his friend Captain Hastings. Poirot had feared that a murder would occur on that day. However, when Friday finally rolls around, no murder is reported. The pair meet with Inspector Glen at a small tobacco shop in Andover where the owner, Mrs. Asher, was found dead at 1am by another policeman. At first they believe it was the husband, Mr.... • 12. effect of pH on amylase activity Essay Biology Lab Report Research Question: Effects of pH on amylase activity Introduction: Amylase is an enzyme that is in human s saliva as well as the pancreas. Enzymes are biological catalysts that speed up a chemical reaction. They break down complex molecules into simple ones. In this case, amylase converts starches (complex molecule) into simple sugars. That is why foods like potatoes for example, may taste sweet to us, because they contain starch. The optimum pH for pancreatic amylase is the pH of 7. • 14. Tony Kushner s Angels Of America Tony Kushner s Angels in America and Mwaganu wa Kaggia s Not Ashamed but so Ashamed both explicitly address the social, religious, and political stigma associated with HIV/AIDS and homosexuality. The use of split scenes in Angels in America allows Kushner to demonstrate the similar ways in which both Joe and Prior respond to alienation despite having distinct personal conflicts. The two characters societal and personal dilemmas are most evidently intertwined in Act 2, Scene 9 of the play. In a similar manner, by using repetition of the phrases I m HIV positive and I am so ashamed , Kaggia s poem confronts the ironic notion that it is not the nature of illness that causes suffering; rather it is the persistent stigmatization of HIV/AIDSthat continuously impedes any attempt to end this epidemic. The dramatic techniques shown in both texts are strategically used by the authors to emphasize the influences that social, religious, and political stigmatization have on individuals with HIV/AIDS and those openly disclosing their homosexuality. Compared to other split scenes in Angels in America , Act 2, Scene 9 is furiously explosive as both Joe and Prior simultaneously confront their partners with their personal dilemmas. During Joe s encounter with Harper, he struggles to identify himself as a homosexual. Joe reveals lack of confidence in his self identity when he says to Harper: You want the truth. According to the CDC it affects approximately 3.9 million Americans and unfortunately 2.7 million of those individuals are chronically infected. Along with shared needles, other routes of transmission include tattooing, body piercing, needle sticks in health care setting, and parental infections during pregnancy and child birth. Uncommonly, transmission can occur through intercourse with an infected person or sharing personal items, such as razors or toothbrushes, that may have infected blood on them. There has been question whether breast milk can cause infection, however, there is currently no evidence of this. Many people may not know they are infected since it can take years for symptoms to appear and the majority of signs and symptoms typically are related to other conditions such as stress or influenza. Power And Pathos Of The Hellenistic Era Power and Pathos uses 50 absolute masterpieces to tell the story of the spectacular artistic developments of the Hellenistic era (4th to 1st centuries B.C.), when new forms of expression began to prevail throughout the Mediterranean basin and beyond. There was an extraordinary leap forward in the development of techniques to form the first instance of globalization of the language of art in the known world. Art was in effect, going international. This exhibit has gathered together some of the most spectacular ancient bronzesculptures that still exists today. It displays monumental life sized figures of Gods, Heroes, Athletes and rulers. Ancient cultures invented bronze. They discovered that making an alloy of copper and tin produced a strong metal that could hold great detail and objects cast with it can easily be reproduced. The ancient Greeks prized bronze for its visual worth and they used it create statueof the human body. Unfortunately, because bronze is a metal that can be cast and is expensive, it can also be melted down. Hence, large bronze statues have rarely survived from antiquity, as most were melted down so that their valuable metal can be reused. The ones that are still preserved today are mostly the same ones that were either lost at sea or buried underground. • 18. The Debate Of Marriage And Pure Relationships Throughout the centuries, America has shifted to the influx of culture. To accommodate to the change, terms, values, and beliefs have had to be modified. One of the many value modifications time has undergone, is the importance of marriage. One sociologist at John Hopkins University, Andrew J. Cherlin, says, that since the 1900s the socially accepted meaning of marriageand pure relationships has sequentially been altered to what it is today. Marriage has shifted from a pure, companionate relationship into more of an individualized, optional one. In order to understand the extent and reason for the transition, it is important to understand marriage as it was, as it is now, and then how that has affected the concept of sexuality. Genesis 2:18 states, it is not good that man should be alone: I will make him a helper comparable to him. This verse tends to be used in every marriage based debate, to the point that it becomes very clichГ©, however, if one were to study it its truth would be evident. Kay Daigle, Founder of Beyond Ordinary Woman Ministries wrote in an excerpt called God s Design for Sexual Intimacy, Marriage is God s design and institution. God created it for relationship, close companionship and mutual support. Marriage, as a sacred vow, was designed for the coming together of one man and one woman. Human beings were not created for isolation or loneliness. This is evident in every day life, with how people are always looking for ways to be accepted. All ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Complementary And Alternative Medicine Or Cam Complementary and alternative medicine or CAM is a large and diverse set of systems of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention based on philosophies and techniques other than those used in conventional Western medicine, often derived from traditions of medical practice used in other (non Western) cultures. Such practices may be described as alternative that is, existing as a body separate from and as a replacement for conventional Western medicine, or complementary, that is, used in addition to conventional Western practice. CAM is characterized by its focus on the whole person as a unique individual, on the energy of the body and its influence on health and disease, on the healing power of nature and the mobilization of the body s own resources to heal itself, and on the treatment of the underlying causes, rather than symptoms, of disease. Many of the techniques used are the subject of controversy and have not been validated by controlled studies ( Complementary and alternative , 2009). In essence, complementary refers to unconventional therapy used together with conventional medicine and alternative refers to an unconventional approach used in the place of conventional medicine. Some examples of CAM include chiropractic medicine, yoga, meditation, diet therapies, acupuncture, herbal medicine such as vitamin and mineral supplements and therapeutic touch therapy. Teo and Loosemore (2001) maintain: Levels of waste within the construction industry need to be reduced for environmental and economic reasons. Changing people s wasteful behaviour can make a significant contribution (pp.741). This paper defines the CDW issue, significant stakeholders, relevant ethical theories and costs. CDW has increased as construction volumes have risen generally, and following natural disasters. For example, the Canterbury Earthquakes generated a major increase in CDW. Major damage to buildings, rock falls and landslips, liquefaction and major infrastructure damage has left an estimated $7.1 billion [Earthquake Commission] EQC bill, says Mackenzie (2011 pp.33). The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA, n.d.) estimated 8 million tonnes of CDW. The larger boy was a valuable asset to the team, and they were aware of that, but it didn t stop them from wanting more than just a friendship with the kind boy. Lance, being flirtatious and brash, was the first one to actually attempt to pursue Hunk, which is how he landed in his current situation. Predicament might have been a better word for it. See, it was nearing 6:30 pm, which meant it was dinnertime for the seven inhabitants of the castle. Step after sluggish step the Cuban paladin made it to his seat.... The appetizer and main course passed in a blur of iron grips, white knuckles and under the breath whimpers of please plus a variety of curses. Everyone was busy with lively chatter, but meanwhile Lance was sure he would explode. When the group finally made it to dessert, that was when things truly started to get bad. Not a full minute after they had gotten their helpings the toy in Lance s ass got a lot more intense. The blue paladin jerked forwards with a moan as his eyes rolled up. He was positive that it was on Its highest setting, there was no way it wasn t. Suddenly, Lance shot back up straight, as if he only then remembered that he was at the table. All traces of conversation had fizzled out and every pair of eyes was on him. Hunk wore a satisfied smirk. Lance flushed an impossibly dark shade of red before jumping to his feet. I m not feeling too good, I ve gotta go... lay down. Sorry bye. And he was gone. Just like that. Lance darted down the hall, trying to get to his room so he could touch himself already, the pleasure close to unbearable. His pants had never felt that tight before. • 33. Dystopian Differences In The Hunger Games And The Hunger... Dystopian films and books have become popular over the past few years. These tend to reflect the way in which society could possibly soon turn if expecting extremes. Dystopian literature and media also tend to have utopian elements as well. While the societies in these works are strict and controlling, they do offer something that our society could possibly benefit from. Divergent has this element. The population is broken up into five factions that represent the different types of people in society and separate those who would fight easily due to their personal morals. The Hunger Games on the other hand (when modern society crumbled) they punished their citizens for fighting the government. While yes there was a chance for riches in the Hunger Games, it took risking your life to get it. In addition, if one did win the Hunger Games they would have an extremely easy life due to riches and a free luxury house. Divergent does not have this part, as its utopian aspect is the fact different ideals are separated from each other. Utopian literature is a reflectionthat is a perceived direction society may go. In these stories, mirrorsare a device used to symbolically state the universe of the filmis a reflection not a reality. The Hunger Games series is based of the book trilogy of the same name. Automobiles continue to be one of the fastest growing industries, especially in the United States; therefore, advertisements are crucial and are constantly changing to meet the requirements and needs of the consumers. In order to target the desired consumers and market effectively, the advertising techniques need to be different from traditional gasoline vehicles because the consumers must be able to compare the types of vehicles out in the market and find the type that best suits their demand. In this case, consumers are contemplating between traditional gasoline vehicles and electric vehicles (EV). There are three ways of advertising that carefully examine how each type of vehiclecan satisfy the specific demands of their potential customers; therefore, automobilecompanies must compete endlessly to come up with advertisements that target consumers right at the heart focusing on manufactures ethics, consumers psychology, and trends. Electric vehicles advertisements target consumers demands by including some of the advantages of EV in the advertisements. These advantages include wordings like zero emission and driving the future. Limitations Of Modulation In Isi Due to the spectacular growth of the wireless services and demands during the last years, the need of a modulation technique that could transmit high data rates at high bandwidth efficiency strongly imposed. The problem of the inter symbol interference (ISI) introduced by the frequency selectivity of the channel became even more imperative once the desired transmission rates dramatically grew up. Using adaptive equalization techniques at the receiver in order to combat the ISI effects could be the solution, but there are practical difficulties in operating this equalization in real time conditions at several Mb/s with compact, low cost hardware. ORTHOGONAL FREQUANCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING is a promising candidate that eliminates the need... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Slow data rate (and long symbol duration) on each subchannel merely means that the effects of ISI are severely reduced. This is in fact the basic idea that lies behind ORTHOGONAL FREQUANCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING . Transmitting the data among a large number of closely spaced subcarriers accounts for the frequency division multiplexing part of the name. Unlike the classical frequency division multiplexing technique, ORTHOGONAL FREQUANCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING will provide much higher bandwidth efficiency. This is due to the fact that in ORTHOGONAL FREQUANCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING the spectra of individual subcarriers are allowed to overlap. In fact, the carriers are carefully chosen to be orthogonal one another. As it is well known, the orthogonal signals do not interfere, and they can be separated at the receiver by correlation techniques. The orthogonality of the subcarriers accounts for the first part of the ORTHOGONAL FREQUANCY DIVISION MULTIPLEXING name. In a mobile radio environment, the signal is carried by a large number of paths with different strength and delays. Such multipath dispersion of the signal is commonly referred as channel induced ISI and yields the same kind of ISI distortion caused by an electronic filter [2]. In fact, the multipath dispersion leads to an upper limitation of the transmission rate in order to avoid the frequency selectivity of the channel or the need of a complex adaptive equalization in the receiver. • 41. The Picture Of Dorian Gray, And The Phantom Of The Beholder There is an old saying that declares: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder . This suggests that beauty is subjective, and lacks a concrete contextualized definition; what is perceived by one individual as attractive, may be, by another, considered unattractive. Regardless of the subjective nature of beauty, society still conforms to beauty ideals, which are propagated and fueled by the media. The beauty ideals that are self imposed by society are problematic because they are unattainable, and galvanize society to reject or promote people based on their outward appearance and hold people s inner beauty in less regard. The imbalance between physical (outward) appearance and inward is a key theme in both The Picture of Dorian Gray, and The Phantom of the Opera. In both novels, the main characters are subject to judgment that is overwhelmingly directed at their outward appearance, and we see an over emphasis of the superficial, which ultimately leads to their downfall. Another important thematic element present in both novels is that the main characters have conflicting dual personalities that have changing roles as the story progresses. A contrasting thematic element in both books is the excessive praise that the main character in The Picture of Dorian Gray received, and the excessive criticism that the main character in The Phantom of the Opera received, both leading to negative outcomes, and the characters ultimate demise. (Koys, 2001, pp26 33) It is also understood as the ability to take initiative, manage, hold, promote, encourage, motivate and evaluate a group or team. (Goffee and Jones, 2000, pp117 28) In business management leadership is the exercise of executive activity in a project effectively and efficiently, whether personal or institutional management (within the administrative process of the organization). The plain view doctrine is an exception where evidence that is visible during a police search, even without a warrant, may be seized. This may be used in situations where a crime is in progress and an officer enters a residence. Any item within plain view that may be illegal will fall within this exception. It may also be used during a traffic stop. However, this exception is allowable only for instances when an officer sees the evidence while also having a legal right to be in the viewing area (Schmalleger, 2014, p. 133). This exception comes into play when an officer either conducts a search and/or seizes property based on the belief that it is within a lawful situation. However, it may later be determined that the search warrant may be ruled as illegal. If the officer had perceived the search and seizure was being conducted with reasonable good faith, an exception can exist to the exclusionary rule (Schmalleger, 2014, p. 131). This was determined in the case of United States v. Leon (1984) when the Supreme Court determined that the officer had performed due diligence in obtaining a warrant, yet it later proved to be invalid due to lack of probable cause. Instead of applying the fruits of the poisonous tree doctrine, the court indicated the officer acted in good faith and that an exception was to be enacted. Exclusionary rule cases The exclusionary rule, handed down by the Supreme Court in 1914, is a court made constitutional requirement regarding evidence obtained during search and seizure (Walker Hemmens, 2010, p. 89). Since it is not specified in the fourth amendment, the court used the exclusionary rule to allow or exclude evidence according to the rules covering search and seizure. Many of the young community members like Frankie look up to him as a god because of his wise knowledge and he is kind to everyone. By describing Doc as a satyr, it shows of his imperfect human side. Similar to satyrs, Doc is an alcoholic and a player. Steinbeck s use of juxtaposition by showing both Doc s strengths and vices highlights the idea that everyone has multiple sides to their personality. Another example is when Doc recalls a poet s recommendation to try a beer milkshake because he loved beer so much. He had wondered what a beer milkshake would taste like. The idea gagged him but he couldn t let it alone (Steinbeck 103). The beer milkshake is a metaphor for the juxtaposition of his personality. A milkshake is something that most people like and is very sweet and innocent. A beer is a form of sin because it is alcohol. By combining the two together, Steinbeck highlights the contrasting forces of personality within Doc. • 57. Body Imagery In Art Analysis Hollander discusses a new tradition of painting half length portraits and first leads the reader through the gradual move to more erotic and sensual images portrayed in artworks. She presents works by Titian and Tintoretto and explains that artists of the period portrayed real people in exotic poses, sometimes with bare chested men or semi exposed women s breasts, and titled their works as mythical characters. Throughout the chapter, the author leads the reader through a variety of images that show the gradual progression of exposed skin in artworks, from draped modern garments assuming folds of classical draperies, which revealed parts of the body, to works such as Caravaggio s Boy Bitten by a Lizard (1571 1610) where the attention on the... She describes how an abundance of drapery surrounding the sitter expressed wealth, or as seen in Francisco de Zurbarian s Saint Serapion (1598 1664), monochromatic heavy woolen garments add a sense of emotional burden to what is already seen in the facial and body imagery. Hollander also describes how artist Johann Liss uses bright, hectic, swirling drapery to add drama and a sexual distraction to the murder scene depicted in his painting Judith in the Tent of Holofernes (1595 1631). In all the examples Hollander presents, she illustrates how fabric and draperies were used by artists of the late sixteenth early seventeenth century to evoke a particular emotion relative to the subject matter and not just for depicting utilitarian clothing to cover the body. Ending the chapter is a discussion of the Hollywood photographers use of the ВЅ portrait which often depicts exposed skin and draped garments to convey sensuality and the sitters consciousness of one s beauty. According to Hollander, this shows that the Baroque spirit in portraiture has held on into the modern ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is the second report in a series of reports. This will cover the strategic planning for the operations and the financial planning for implementing new technologies. As well as a flow chart that will improve the telephonic procedures of customer service. This report will also review other issues that we have seen that can use some restructuring. Current Procedures: 1. Customers place their order on line, and when they press the submit button, it signals the order fulfillment software to swing into action. Coding of book ... The present system that is done with manual pickers runs at a rate of 360 books an hour ( 8 pickers spread over two shifts) at the new rate of 720 books an hour the system could run 24hrs a day and handle the projected work load of 14400 books per day. The storage capacity is more than adequate for the new system. To handle the new work load manually Cango would have to employ 16 pickers across three shifts to accommodate the increase in demand. There would need to be extra terminals added. Though the projections for the fall quarter look promising the resurge us of books and CD s is unlikely. Recent reports have sales of books falling as much as 34% over last year and the increase of eBooks over 300%. (Wolman, 2011) It also has CD sales being cut in half over the past decade. The rise of people buying digital music and streaming music is significant. Without question the new technology can be paid for by this fall s increase in revenues alone. At 1.5 million per system, it takes 3 million to install the systems. Our revenues projected for the fall is 31 million with net income being approximately 10% of sales revenue the investment will be paid back almost immediately. The question still remains if it makes sense long term. If traditional book sales continue to fall at their present rate of 34% annually we will be out of the traditional books selling in three years. The CD sales are declining at a similar rate. ... • 59. Application Of The Server Register A Callback Answer] When the client caches the data, the server register a callback, this enables the client to be informed about the data being modified. If a modification has taken place the server does not register the callback which means that it informs the client that the cached data is stale. The cached data is canceled by the client so that it can be accessed by local cache the next time it is accessed; the local cache will get the information from the server by installing the callback. This is the performance and correctness improvement over having the client periodically ask the server if its cached data is only the current data or not. The server can broadcast the changes to all the clients that cache the data, however, this approach fails when the server is not positive that is the clients will need the new data in the future. When a server hands out a callback on a file to a client, the server promises to contact the client before invalidating old copies of the file which might be cached at the client this is also known as breaking the callback, the client can use cached copies of the file freely if the callback has not been broken. 3. Consider a distributed file system that does client caching using write through. The system caches individual blocks, rather than entire files. Can the client in this system have a cache consistency problem? If so, suggest two possible solutions. Answer] Client caching causes inconsistency into the system. Consider a case where clients ... • 60. Stormbreaker I just finished reading Chapter three of Stormbreaker , and it wasn t as confusing as the other chapters. In fact, it answered my very first question since I looked at the book. My question was why is the book named Stormbreaker? Once I read that Stormbreaker was actually a file, it was as if the words leaded off the page. From what I read I think that this file must be important. I don t know how important, but I have a feeling that it is going to play a big part in the story. Something else I noticed after reading Chapter three was that Alex had more than one problem. I didn t really understand his problems until I was done with whole Chapter. His first problem was that he had just uncovered one of his uncle s file that was supposed to be classified. His second problem was he had now realized that his uncle really didn t work at bank. If I was in Alex s position, I would ve grabbed the files and slid down the flag pole. Personally, I think that Alex the reason he was knocked out was because he didn t act quick enough. Maybe if Alex would ve pre planned before he acted, his outcome would be a lot better.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I didn t like this scene because of the way Alex s character behaved. His character acted oblivious and memory wiped. If I would ve walked into the bank and recognized the man that tried to kill me, my instinct would ve told me that something was abnormal. I also would ve left when I noticed the cameras watching me every step I take. I understand that almost every business establishment has cameras, but if the camera specifically me...I think it s kind of obvious. To me, Alex was craving to be killed!
