Vision and Mission Statements at Harley Davidson Every company or organization must develop a
mission and vision statement in order to have a good strategic management process. So the
organization or the company must define their vision and mission statement in a clear way
(Aguinis, 2013). When the vision and the mission statements are clearly defined the managers can
set up the strategic goals and targets that are aligned with the company or organization goals for
the long term. The company managers can restate these goals into an operational strategy that can
be enforced, evaluated and observed (Thompson, 2017). The statement of mission shows why the
organization or a business exist and what it want to do for now, and the sector in which an
organization work and function, even it shows the key purpose of the organization and why
(MacDonald, 2017). It also determines the way the company identifies the customers served, and
how it makes its business, such as shareholders, and employees. It also assists the employees to ...

Ip Delivery For Fpgas Using Applets And Jhdl
Paper Summary The paper, IP Delivery for FPGAs Using Applets and JHDL , describes the use
of Java applets in order to provide IP (Intellectual Property) based FPGA delivery and evaluation.
As IP based FPGA approach has significant advantages such as it improves the productivity
/quality, and reduce design time. FPGA IP uses Java applets that allow designers to create,
evaluate, test and obtain circuits, and that too has to be done within a web browser. Several
other approaches have been introduced, which are similar to JHDL. Those can be described as
follows; Web CAD: It uses client server architecture and transfers the simulation events
across the network Java CAD: This is similar to Web CAD. It has applets which are
described in Java and uses RMI (Remote Method Invocation) over the internet for simulating and
evaluating the circuits. JBits: This tool does not use the internet to deliver IP cores and
delivers pre placed IP core. It is easily incorporated with online Java applets. In Java based
applets, here JHDL is used as a design environment. It is developed at BYU used for creating
high performance FPGA. JHDL libraries provide the components and wires that are used to create
the instance. The programming language used here is Java and for simulation and compilation,
Java Virtual Machine (JVM) platform is needed. Variety of design tools it supported, such as
Schematic Viewer, allows the designer to quickly view the structure and hierarchy of a circuit.

Mr. Daniels used for the purposes of his writing s. Theodore is an English writer and retired prison

Frivolity Of Evil discussing his thoughts on Evil itself. During Theodore s 14 years of employment
in both the prison and medical industry, he witnessed Evil in many different forms helping him to
further his own understanding, and beliefs in the matter. His main focus for the purposes of this
article is in regards to his home state of Great Britain. Theodore touches on how their own welfare
system is currently allowing evil to flourish. In part because the system has protected the people of
Britain from some of its economic consequences . Without consequences for one s actions, man
will continue to test the limitations or lack thereof. Allowing this atrocity to continue over the
years has helped to promote the widespread growth of evil. Later Theodore spends several years
touring the world to such places as, Equatorial Guinea, North Korea, and Liberia, where he had
witnessed many evils in the ways of torture, tyranny, and ultimately death. All of these, mind

Donatello Essay example
Donatello
Donatello s real name is Donato di Niccolo di Betto Bardi (1386 1466). Donatello was a master
of sculpture in bronze and marble and was one of the greatest Italian Renaissance artists of his
time. A lot is known about his life and career but little is known about his character and
personality. He never married and seems to be a man of simple tastes. Patrons often found him
hard to deal with and he demanded a lot of artistic freedom. The inscriptions and signatures on his
works are among the earliest examples of classical Roman lettering. He had a more detailed range
of knowledge of ancient sculpture than any other artist of his time. His work was inspired by
ancient visual examples which he often transformed, he was ... Show more content on

He no longer modelled his shapes but he seemed to paint them with his chisel.
Donatello continued to explore the possibilities of the new technique he would use in his marble
reliefs of the 1420 s and early 1430 s. The best of these were The Ascension, with Christ giving
the keys to St. Peter, the Feast of Herod (1433 1435), the large stucco roundels with scenes from
the life of St. John the Evangelist (1434 1437), and the dome of the old sacristy of St. Lorenzo
shows the same technique but with color added.
Donatello had also become a major sculptor in bronze. His earliest work of this was the more than
life size statue of St. Louis (1423) which was replaced half a century later. Donatello in partnership
with Michelozzo helped with fine bronze effigy on the tomb of the pope John XXIII in the
bapistery, the Assumption of the Virgin on the Brancacci tomb and the dancing angels on the
outdoor pulpit of the Prato Cathedral (1433 1438).
His departure from the standards of Brunelleschi did not go to well between the two old friends
and was never repaired. Brunelleschi even made epigrams against Donatello.
During his partnership with Michelozzo, Donatello made works of pure sculpture, including
several works of bronze. The earliest and most important of these was the Feast of Herod (1423
1427). He also made two statuettes of Virtues and then three nude child angels (one which was

The National Security Agency Invasion
Living in a country that is known to be Land of the free... is not exactly what most people dream
of. The United States may be known for its freedom and power, but most people are unaware of the
covertness behind the government. And by now, almost every American citizen knows that privacy
no longer exists. In this century and country, it really does not. In the United States, most people
look toward the government as salvation, protection, and reliance. Unfortunately, not everything is
as good as it seems. Imagine your personal information, your daily conversations, and your daily
actions being viewed and judged by the government. This is exactly what the government does.
Sometimes the government is not always our solution; they can also be our problems.
National Security Agency (NSA) is also known as the President s Surveillance Program . It was
first implemented after the Twin Towers attack on September 11, 2001 by President George W. Bush
. Soon after, more surveillance programs sprouted in order to assist the National Security Agency.
Some surveillance programs include the FBI, IRS, Terrorist Scanning Center (TSC), Department of
Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), etc. All of these surveillance programs s
main purpose is to conduct a range of surveillance activities inside the United States in search for
terrorists. These surveillance activities required much information such as call histories, data
records and other personal information. This daily

Video Games And Its Effects On Society
In today s day and age the new thing is technology, every day teenagers spend countless hours on
the phones or their computers a day. They are on there going through and making new friends and
having fun. They can go on and and instant message them for advice on home work or just talk and
interact with one another. They can virtually do anything they want to. But on there is always a
downside on the internet.
Facebook is a wonderful tool for anybody and everybody, who has access to the internet. And that
includes immature teens, the approach these websites as video games. John Suler. And then they
are going around and cyberbullying people without knowing what the are doing. They are going
around pretend that are going for a high score hiding behind a fake profile picture or avatar. And
some online communities kick them out of the community.
I can see why Teenagers are drawn into facebook, the learn to interact with tens of millions of
people from around the world. And you can add yourself to groups you like or think you like or
are interested in. Then when you do that you meet other people with the same similarities. After
that the group chats come alive and really start to make friends. And the groups chats can have a
groups of friends at school all the way to having them across bodies of water like the Pacific or
the Atlantic. They can begin discussing homework or how bad their teachers are. The downside of
this drama happens very easily in high school.

Father Figures In Romeo And Juliet
Father figures in our life are very important while developing our characteristics and morals.
When we are little we look up to our fathers for advice and guidance on how we should act. As
that would be the social normality now in the twentieth century, in the olden day such as when
Romeo and Juliet was written and performed, the father would be a ruler and forced to work to
the extreme so the son or daughter would not have a full father figure. They could find a father
figure in another person such as Romeo did with Friar Laurence. Romeo looked to Friar
Laurence with respect that a father would receive, he could ask for any advice and he could go to
him with any issue. To Romeo, Friar Laurence was a fatherly figure there to support Romeo s

100 Life Expectancy Calculator
I was surprised at how much education level, marital status, weight, blood pressure, and stress
can affect a life expectance. According to the Living to 100 Life Expectancy Calculator, I am
predicted to live to 93 years old. A 2015 National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and
Medicine report said men born in 1930 could expect to reach about age 82 if their income put them
in the top 20 percent of earners and they survived to age 50. And high earners born in 1960 are
projected to live to 89 a sizable seven year gain in three decades (Henricks, 2018, para 9). Marital

Memorable Moment
That night was a game I will always remember. It brings me great joy and gives me deep pride. It is
one of the greatest feelings I have ever experienced in my life. It was and still is a moment that I
look back on and reminisce. I used to work for a private company at Tinian Dynasty Hotel Casino
as a Casino Dealer, and that memorable moment happened when I played basketballwith my casino
team. I have played basketball tournaments in high school and in government leagues, however,
none of them compares when I played in Tinian Dynasty s Inter Department Basketball Tournament.
It was a popular event that happens every year between different departments of the company, and I

There was about 00.04 seconds left in the game, and the other team still had to inbound the ball
back into the court for their chance to score. A player from the other team, still dazed and
confused, did not know what to do and tried to pass the ball to his teammate, but miraculously,
one of my teammates, Elmo, was able to intercept the ball and lay it up for a quick basket. As I
watch the ball drop to the bottom of the net, that is when I heard the sound of the horn go off.
The final seconds of the game has ended, and our team and fans went jumping up and down,
yelling and screaming in celebration and joy. It was then we were declared the victors. The final
score of the game was 106 105. It was an unbelievable basketball game I ever played. The feeling
was like playing in the NBA. Everyone else as well who witnessed the night of our comeback
victory were amazed. All I could ever think of now was just how I reacted without even thinking
about what to do during those last eleven seconds. Just never giving up was my mentality. Time
was short, but felt long and fast. I was placed in a time zone where I will always remember that

Strategic Leadership And Different Levels Of Business...
1.0Strategic Leadership Styles
Strategy is the direction and scope of an organisation over the long term: which achieves advantage
for the organisation through its configuration of resources within a challenging environment, to
meet the needs of markets and to fulfill stakeholder expectations . (Johnson and Scholes, 1999)
1.1Strategic leadership is demonstrated when a leader knows effective efficient leverage of
Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) to deliver the corporate strategy (Schuler and

needs interests of the stakeholders internal (employees/managers), connected (financers, customers
those in the supply chain) external (Media, Government, unions, local communities professional

The Good Earth Chapter 1 Quotes
Good Earth Responses
In chapter 1 of The Good Earth we are introduced to the protagonist Wang Lung and are given an
overview of his life style. We also are informed that he is about to get married and yet has no clue
of what his wife is like. This fact is told when the first sentence says, It was Wang Lung s marriage
day. and the second quote, We will have to see what is to be had ,which indicates he doesn t know
what his wife looks like. The most apparent thing that is prominent in the chapter is Wang Lung s
excitement for having children. This is shown when he states, The house would be full of beds.

Respiratory Diseases
Respiratory diseases can be classified in many different ways; by the organ involved, by the pattern
of symptoms or by the cause of the disease (Barron, 2009). Disorders of the respiratory system can
be classified into four general areas:
Restrictive conditions (fibrosis, sarcoidosis, alveolar damage, pleural effusion) Vascular diseases (
pulmonary edema, pulmonary embolism, pulmonary hypertension)
Infectious, environmental and other diseases ( pneumonia, tuberculosis, asbestosis, particulate

How are infections of upper respiratory tract different from those of lower respiratory tract?
The main difference is the location of the infection. An upper respiratory tract infection would
include infection of the nose, nasal cavity, nasal and paranasal sinuses, the larynx and pharynex. A
lower respiratory infection would include infection of the traches, bronchi, or bronchial tree, the
lungs or pleural cavitiy.
Why are infections of the upper respiratory tract milder as compared to those pertaining to the
lower respiratory tract?
Lower rspiratory tract infections have secretions low down that can block the airways and prevent
sufficient oxygen being available to the lungs (Health Blurbs, 2015).
. Upper respriatory tract infections aren t so bad because if your nose is blocked you can breathe
through your mouth , so oxygen availability isn t much of an issue.
Describe the curative methods for each of upper and lower respiratory tract infections Treatment for
an upper respiratory tract infection may include rest, increased fluid intake, over the counter
medications to manage the symptoms, vitamin C, zinc, echinacea and nasal spray (Health Blurbs,

Essay On The Galapago Trip
Off the Beaten Path Galapagos trips are rare; the restrictions in place pretty much rule them out.
Any incursion into the Galapagos National Park is done with a certified guide, boats are limited to
stopping at each visitor site once in a fourteen day period and the notion of setting off on your to
parts unknown independently is distinctly and absolutely frowned upon.
While being saddled with a guide and limitations that prohibit independent travel is disconcerting

This adventure led me to update a guidebook, manage a non profit travel club and through a maze
of places that didn t make the cut. Needless to say, my latest discovery is worth its salt and
deserving of the time it takes to finish this article.
Conventional wisdom about the Galapagos dictates that trips are taken on boats, more islands are
accessible in a limited amount of time. This way of thinking isn t easily changed, but making a
decision to take a land based trip just makes sense. Time is spent getting to know the islands from a
hands on perspective, seeing the uninhabited destinations by day and spending the nights in the
natural surroundings. Adding a different element to the trip and bringing the environment to life.
Michael and Stephanie Mesdag realized this while on vacation. A trip into the highlands of Santa
Cruz led them to a farm for sale next to the National Park border. The subsequent purchase made
way for two years of camping on the property while getting to know the islands culturally and
planning an environmentally friendly way to open up the Galapagos to a safari

A Brief Note On Depression And The Depression
Robyn Lawhorn
July 11, 2015
Psychology 100
Mrs. Fischer
Hours Worked: 22 Major depression, also known as unipolar depression, is one of the most
common mental illnesses. Over nine million adults each year suffer from depression. Many people
don t understand what depression really is, including myself until I did a lot of research over this
subject. Major depression is more than a temporary state of being sad. It is a persistent state that
can significantly impair an individual s thoughts, behavior, daily activities, and physical health.
According to The Stanford School of Medicine, they said that major depressive disorder impacts all
racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups and can occur at any age. (Depression Research Clinic)
Depression is a common, but serious illness that can occur in people of all ages; teenagers, adults,
and older adults. Depression is a condition that reportedly affects one in every ten Americans at
some point in their lives. The incidence of depression is actually higher in some states than others.
Certain ethnicities also report higher depression rates than others. According to Healthline, the
number of patients diagnosed with depression increases by approximately 20% each year.
(Healthline) In the United States, Oklahoma, Arizona, Tennessee, West Virginia, Louisiana,
Mississippi, and Alabama have the highest reported rates of depression. These states also show high
rates of other negative health outcomes such as obesity, heart disease,

Statistically, he probably does. Men need to understand the concept of cheating thoroughly. Men
want to have sex with as many attractive women as possible and women want, ultimately, have a
man committed to her emotionally and sexually, excluding all other women. Biology dictates both
wants and society enforces and enables both sexes to achieve these wants. When I mention
women in this article, I do not necessarily include modern women . That is, women who are
financially independent and do not have nor feel the need to depend on men for anything. I ll be
first to admit that our society is rapidly changing and a lot of this article will be generalities.
Generalities, but ultimately, the undeniable truth. Its your choice as a man as to how you view your
relationships with women. For, the curious, yes I ve cheated plenty.

Inefficiency Of The Lottery Essay
Inefficiency of buying Lottery Tickets Have you ever seen those long lines near the lottery machine
in convenient stores, gas stations, or other lottery agents? If you have, then have you considered the
total amount of money that Americans spend on the lottery? In 2014, Americans have spent 70.15
billion dollars on lotterytickets; this is almost four times the spending on Sports Tickets (Isidore).
This indicates that playing the lottery is an important source of leisure for Americans. However,
this raises an interesting question: is it economically efficient to buy lottery tickets? Are Americans
receiving benefits that are greater than the cost of buying a ticket? To answer this question, the
concept of homo economicus becomes essential. Homo economicus is a Latin word that denotes
the economic man ; a person who rationally makes decisions based on cost, value, and net benefits
with the desire of maximizing his happiness. To understand the economic man s perspective on
playing the lottery, it becomes essential to understand the net benefits and the costs of playing the
lottery. After analyzing these criteria, it becomes apparent that playing the lottery is economically
inefficient, which is a practice that the economic man would avoid, because the cost exceeds the
benefits. First, it is essential to analyze the incentive behind playing the lottery, and the probabilities
of winning the lottery. When an individual buys a lottery ticket, he has a desire to obtain more

My Family History
During my excessive research on my family background, I found that I had major complication
learning about my history. The reason for this was because my family was brought to a country
that totally wiped out my ancestor s culture. The only part I understand of my family history is
slavery. We started out as slaves in when first brought to America. We were originally from West
Africa. We lived in places such Nigeria, Congo, and Ghana. This was a time when we owned our
land and freedom. However, around the late 1500s, the western European culture had finally
discovered our deeply rooted heritage. They saw that beautiful land we had nourished, They saw
the love within our community. They saw the resource we provided. They realized the strength
we had as a people. Soon the western Europeans felt that needed to conquer us and our land. The
wanted to prove that we re able to conquer because of the more industrialized military they had.
They forced my people to move to a unformal land that conquered from another culture of people.
So after arrival to the new world, the European immediately forced my ancestors to change their
names. They gave us our names of our slave owners. This resulted in my ancestors to being
someone s property. My ancestors worked day in and day out in the hot sun; picking cotton,
building houses, growing crops and being housemaids. The European s would soon transition into
what we know today as Americans. For the next four hundred years, the Americans

Tidal Energy Essay
Tidal power
Fossil fuels are a finite resource. It seems that this cheap form of energy (gas and oil for our cars)
will run out in our lifetime. This is why we seek alternative energy sources. There are many
different renewable energy sources but some are better than the other. Solar energy is a very
known form of renewable energy nowadays. However, each form of energy has its pros and cons.
Tidal power is a form of renewable energy, which seems to have quite a bit more pros than con s.
The moon and the earth dance around the sun, this dance is held together by gravitational force.
Every part of the moon, earth and sun is pulled towards every other part of the earth, moon and sun.
However, there are slight imperfections between these gravitational ... Show more content on

This is one of the most important factors for any possible future source of energy. Tidal power
does not require any fuel and therefore does not emit any greenhouse gasses into the
atmosphere. The effect on our environment however, also has some downsides. Tidal turbines
could disrupt the movement of large marine animals and ships through certain shipping lanes.
The construction of tidal power plants could disrupt fish migration and could kill fish when
passing through the turbines. These are all possible drawbacks of tidal energy. The actual
impacts of tidal power are very uncertain as this particular source of energy has not been
deployed and tested in our ecosystems yet. Popular believe has it that tidal power is not
renewable as extracting power from the tides slows down the earth s rotation and that therefore
tidal power is not a long term energy source. However, this is not correct. The natural tides
already slow down the earth s rotation. Tidal energy extracts energy that otherwise would have
been lost in any case. Even if we doubled the amount of energy that we would extract from the
tides, tidal energy would still be able to last for the lifetime of the

Diction In Erik Larson s The Devil In The White City
As authors, most most authors, our art is portraying the human condition. Trying to show you
what it s like to be somebody else, trying to make you feel for somebody else. Patrick Rothfuss.
In The Devil In The White City Erik Larson inserts the reader in the shoes of two very
antonymous characters. Larson s diction enables him to create vivid pictures and descriptions, so
the reader can immerse him/herself in the plot. With John Root, he uses phrases that give
background to his past and his positions, but with H.H. Holmes, he allows the representation of a
maniacal individual by giving the reader insight into the his sadistic ways. Erik Larsonutilizes
diction to instill fear, while also adding thought provoking scenarios that leave the reader mystified
and pondering the different approaches they would take if put in these deep situational instances.
Erik Larson portrays Root as an intellectual person and simultaneously an all around good person.
Root won acceptance into Oxford, but before he could matriculate, the war ended and his father
summoned him back to America, to his new home in New York City, where Root studied civil
engineering at New York University and became a draftsman for the architect who later designed
St. Patrick s Cathedral (20). This quote dives into Root s background but especially his familial
background. Root s father has high expectations and will do anything to get Root the best education

Consequences Of Unisciplined Children In The Veldt By Ray...
Consequences of undisciplined children Many people have witnessed a toddler having a meltdown
in public only to have a parent sooth them by giving in to the child s demand. Although sometimes
this can be a beneficial parenting technique, if a parent over indulges a child too often, then that
child can become spoiled. However in The Veldt, Ray Bradburychallenges the idea of satisfying
children; he suggests through his tragic tale of the spoiled and undisciplined children Wendy and
Peter, that over indulged kids will be taught to not value their family. Through the use of spoiling
kids, harms of technology, and conflict, Ray Bradbury shows children need to be disciplined in
order to be well rounded individuals. Bradbury uses spoiling Wendy and Peter to show they
weren t well rounded, by emphasizing that they were over indulged in materialistic wants. When
parents Lydia and George were talking, Lydia explained, They re insufferable let s admit it.
They come and go when they like; they treat us as if we were offspring. They re spoiled and we
re spoiled. The description of how the parents feel provides the reader with a better understanding
that even the parents can no longer control Wendy and Peter s disrespectful ways caused by their
mistakes of spoiling the children. Bradbury establishes the kids as so over indulged that even
Lydia and George could not discipline the children if they put their minds to it. Towards the end of
the story we see that not being able to

Trojan War in HomerВґs The Iliad
Homer s Heroes
The epic poem called The Iliad written by Homer concerns the Trojan War. It shows Trojan and
Achaean warriors courage, bravery and their attempt to become the best fighter to get fame, glory,
and honor. The heroes in The Iliad follow Homer s heroic code, striving for excellence. Hector and
Achilles strength comes from their desire for fame, glory, honor and their acceptance of fate.
These qualities are considered to be characteristics of Homer s heroic code. However, the actions
of Paris are not heroic causing trouble and conflict for many people. In fact, Paris non heroic action

Thetis...tells me of two possible destinies...two ways: if on one hand I remain to fight around Troy
town, I lose all hope of home but gain unfading glory; on the other, if I sail back to my own land
my glory fails but a long life lies ahead of me. (K 47 54)
The proper burial which Achilles does for all his victims in the war is a heroic action. Since
burial is a very important thing for both Achaeans and Trojans, the families of the dead ones were
able to appreciate Achilles respect for the dead people. Andromache says of Achilles attack on her
father:
He killed him, but, reverent at least in this, did not spoil him. Body, gear, and weapon forged so
handsomely, he burned, and heaped a barrow over the ashes. Elms were planted round by mountain
nymphs of him who bears the storm cloud. (J 127 33)
Achilles requests to his mother, Thetis, to ask Zeus and make the Trojans stronger until
Agamemnon and his army realize that they need Achilles back in order to win the war. So,
Thetis asks Zeus, Lend the Trojans power,/ until the Achaeans recompense my son/ and heap new
honour upon him! (C 20 23) The strategy that Achilles plans works out and eventually he is back
in the army. However since he chooses fame and glory over a long and relaxing life, the time for
Achilles death comes. Being the hero that he is, Achilles accepts his fate when Hector foreshadows
it and mentions his death is close by.

Theme Of Sensory Evidence In The Duchess Of Malfi
The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster is a tragic play, which deals with love, power, and
madness. The madness derives from the use of sensory evidence. In many cases, Webster uses
sensory evidence to push his characters to the limit of their own mind. The concept of sensory
experience is a way to grab your readers attention while using the five senses to do so. Webster
employs this concept in ways that progress the plot. However, it causes much trouble for most of
the characters, especially The Duchess herself. Although there could be many factors that affect the
death of the Duchess, the use of the sensory experience is the most evident. We can easily observe
this by her marriageto Antonio, her relationship with Bosola, and her problems with Ferdinand. To
begin, a crucial conversation shapes the course of the play in a subtle but immense way. In Act 1,
scene 3, The Cardinal and Ferdinand insist that The Duchess does not remarry after the death of her
husband. However, they are not aware that the Duchess is planning on marrying Antonio, her old
steward. The following citation shows Ferdinand s thought of those who remarry. Marry! They are
most luxurious/will wed twice. (John Webster, Act 1, scene 3, line 6 7) His comment uses the word
Luxurious which means lecherous. Ferdinand is saying that widows that remarry are driven by an
excessive desire for sexual relations and nothing more. After both brothers have spoken of their
thoughts on the matter, The Duchess assures

The Rubik s Cube
How Architecture found Cubes
The Rubik s cube, invented by Erno Rubik, is famously known as the Impossible puzzle.
It was during the summer of my 7th grade that I first stumbled upon the Rubik s cube. The Rubik
s cube is a cube with different colors on all sides. The goal is to be able to return the original look
of the cube, with all the edges and corners corresponding to the center color of each face. People
seem to think the cube is made out of 27 cubes, but it is actually made of a core. The other pieces
fit in with the core to give the look of multiple cubes grouped together.
I remembered the day vividly when I held the glamorous box with the Qi Yi BullFight (Name of
the Rubik s Cube) inside. The cube felt special, it was an experience I had never encountered.

Architecture is the design of a building, just like the bones that make up the structure of a human
being, and the way it forms as a basis for a design. The Rubik s cube is the pencil I use for
drawing. The pencil is occasionally used, and sometimes, left alone. When I am focused, I can
solve my difficulties, calm and controlled. Nevertheless, I can draw my imagination, however
hard it maybe. However, when I am inattentive, it seems like a brick wall is stopping me from my
solution. Although this pencil may cause me to stress out, it can also encourage me to try harder,
and seek out the hidden solution even with the massive brick wall in the way. My love of
architecture connects with the cube because solving problems in puzzles is just like thinking
through and designing something. In addition, whenever I open my vision to the many designs in
the world, it brings me back to the Rubik s cube and architecture. The many designs act like the
algorithms in the cube, you sometimes make errors, and you sometimes

The Feminist Movement Of Henrik Ibsen s Ibsen
Granted that, Ibsen had disclosed that he was not consciously writing the play to support the
feminist movement, nor did he have any intentions to motivate women to follow Nora s
footsteps. He actually had treated a Scandinavian who had followed Nora s footsteps
distastefully, and criticized her because she took her child when running away, instead of
running away by herself (Templeton 35). The reason for his hypocritical attitude to the woman
was to protect himself from the many critics that were already accusing him of a supporter. He
had many women in his life that were mistreated due to the societal differences, and actually was
mentored by Magdalen Thoresen, who was one of the first New Woman he had met. He
eventually married her Magdalen s stepdaughter, Suzannah, and wrote about her in order to remind
people of Suzannah (Templeton 36). Ibsen may have spoken out against being a supporter, but his
motives for such actions were very prevalent in his life. Nevertheless, those two females were not
the most important feminists in his life however. Camilla Collett, one of the most active feminists
in the European countries had. She wrote a novel stating how women s feelings matter and they
have rights as human beings to education and free will of who they are to marry. Publishers gave
her the ultimatum of a masculine name change, or no name at all (Templeton 36). Somehow she
became known as the author and was exiled. Her and Suzannah Ibsen became close friends and

The Down Information Processing Occurs
a) Top down information processing occurs when an individual uses previous knowledge, such as
the context of a situation, to recognize and identify patterns when making a decision. In this study,
the top down information that the researchers looked at was whether or not gender marked definite
articles in French would affect lexical activation during spoken word recognition. A critical display
would consist of four images, a target, cohort competitor, and two distractors. For example, using
the materials from Appendix A, a target word could be couronne crown in English, the cohort
competitor would be couteau knife in English, and the distractors would be chaussure shoe and

Using this model, it is expected that the participants would spend more time fixating on the
images of the dustpan and comb because of their phonetic similarities as they both begin with
[pОµ ]. Then as the word progresses, they will retrieve the target word, the dustpan, and fixate
their eyes on the image. The second goal of the first experiment was to see how the gendered
articles would influence the lexical activation during word recognition. In this trial, using
phonologically distinct words, a critical display could be composed of the target word le cerf
volant (the kite), the paired distractor la coccinelle (the ladybug), and two competitors le dauphin
(the dolphin) and la tomate (the tomato). Upon hearing the beginning of the utterance le , the
participant is expected to fixate on both the images of the target, the kite, and the masculine
competitor, the dolphin. If the participant does indeed do this, it shows that the matching gender
marked articles are being accessed at the start of the utterance and as more sound input is
processed, the target word gets more activated, eventually retrieving the correct word and fixating
on the right image. c) Figure 5 illustrates the main results of Experiment 2, displaying the
probability of fixation over time in milliseconds for the target, cohort competitor, and the average of
the distractors. The trends in the

The defense of Pearl Harbor was in the hands of two commanders, Short and Kimmel, and it was
their joint responsibility to coordinate the defense of Pearl Harbor by mutual cooperation
(Burtness and Ober 742). Short, however, played a major influence in the failed defense of
Pearl Harbor. General Short was commander of the American Army Hawaiian Department at the
start of the 1941 and was informed by the Army Chief of Staff at this time, General George
Marshall, that two major perils that he might face at Pearl Harbor. The first was people of
Japanese descent on the island who are loyal to Japan might engage in sabotage of Hawaiian
infrastructure. The second consisted of a surprise raid by enemy air forces and submarines.
(Burtness and Ober 742 743). Short, however, began to have an excessive fear of potential
sabotaging to the point that it dominated the thinking of General Short, his staff, and, indeed the
entire Hawaiian Department of the Army. Because of this, Short enlisted Colonel Harvey S.
Burwell to help improve sabotage control for the Hawaiian Department. One of the suggestions that
was made to Short, by Burwell, was to bunch the aircraft together, without fuel or ammunition, to
afford better protection against sabotage. The problem associated with this was that aircraft
required four hours notice before they would be ready for combat. Burwell was given the

Taking a Look at World War II
THE WAR
The second world war officially began on September 1,1939 when Germany invaded Poland. The
reason given by Hitler for the invasion was the Gleiwitz incident, which saw Poles attack the
German radio station Sender Gleiwitz on August 31, 1939. It later emerged that they were actually
SS agents in disguise and that the attack was done so as to justify the impending invasion of
Poland. The Soviet Union also attacked Poland from the east after signing non aggression pacts
with Germany and Japan. The United Kingdom and France declared war on Germany on
September 3, heralding the global nature of the war.
Poland was overrun in less than a month and Germany aimed to consolidate their advantage by
invading Denmark and Norway for getting access to iron ore shipments from Sweden which was
cut off owing to the naval blockade imposed by the allies .The Soviet Union, in turn, attacked
Finland. In addition, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg also fell to the German forces.
Germany next prepared for the invasion of France. The French had the heavily fortified Maginot
line which they hoped would contain the advancing German troops. However, the Germans
unexpectedly progressed through the Ardennes forest and bypassed the Maginot line, rendering the
French defence useless. Italy also attacked France on June 10,1940 and Paris fell four days later.
France was divided in to German and Italian spheres of influence.

Poem tittle: I am a performer
I am a performer, perfectly portraying the pain
Of people who are perpetrated, I dance for the dark man
Struggled, I sing with my voice so loud for the heroes of my land.
I feel the pain they felt as I say what they said and do what they did.
Why are you amazed by the way I curse so confidently?
Forgive me I m just a performer perfectly portraying the pain of those who were patronized.
I am dressed in the spirit of men and women who exist in imaginative
People s minds, just a character, even sometimes I feel not real but it s the love that keeps me
believing, am I not the gift that keeps on giving? These steps I walk on stage have meaning.
Sometimes I swear at God, forgive me if I m sinning but I m just a performer who perfectly
Portray the pride of the people who perished.
Reciting the world s feelings, their sadness
I keep healing, see I m not always sad and angry sometimes I leave them laughing because I am a
comedian. Am not amazing? I hold the Earth s emotions I say words that move nations, sometimes
I am silent but they can hear me, because the pandemonium in my heart says everything. Can t you
see I am a performer perfectly portraying

The Great Migration Research Paper
The Great Migration brought about a massive redistribution of the African American population
throughout the United States. It transformed black ways of life, art, and institutions, as well as the
demographics and cultures of many American cities.

In the late nineteenth century, following Reconstruction, thousands of black southerners migrated
to other regions of the country, seeking a better life. A majority of these migrants moved to rural
areas and continued to work in agriculture. These early population shifts were decidedly different
from the Great Migration of the 1920s, which involved much larger numbers ... Show more content

Synchresis In Glas
Bert Haanstra s Glas is a short film made in 1958. The film focussed on the process of glass
making where two different methods of the process have been screened. Firstly it showed how
human beings are individually blowing the glasses and making artistic pieces out of it like
decorative materials, bottles, and cups etc., followed by the mechanical large scale mass
production of bottles which is mainly done by machines. It is found that the film is divided into
three clearly defined chapters. In the first chapter we mainly see the improvisatory method of glass
blowing where artisans are applying their individual artistic abilities in order to create glass objects
with a unique art impression. Whereas the second chapter involves the mechanical... Show more

The activity of the artisans from their hands are edited and shot in such a manner that it matches
perfectly with the melody pattern as well as the rhythm of the musical track that is accompanied. It
looks as if the music is been created by them, implying that whatever they are doing is also
highly artistic it s not just a mechanical production. This chapter of the movie involves wide use
of synchresis and is an ideal example of musical synchresis. Synchresis is the term coined by
French theorist Michel Chion which means synchronisation + synthesis. Since synchresis is the
phenomena of establishing a cause and effect relation between image and sound when they occur
together as if the image is causing the sound, or the sound is outcome of whatever is happening
on screen. As the sequence progresses the music also becomes faster in order to accompany the
faster editing pattern where we see a perfect amalgamation of mechanical production of glasses
with machines and human beings. For example: very brief shots of a man blowing are perfectly
synced with the notes or chords on saxophone, it looks as if they are the one playing the

  • 3. Ip Delivery For Fpgas Using Applets And Jhdl Paper Summary The paper, IP Delivery for FPGAs Using Applets and JHDL , describes the use of Java applets in order to provide IP (Intellectual Property) based FPGA delivery and evaluation. As IP based FPGA approach has significant advantages such as it improves the productivity /quality, and reduce design time. FPGA IP uses Java applets that allow designers to create, evaluate, test and obtain circuits, and that too has to be done within a web browser. Several other approaches have been introduced, which are similar to JHDL. Those can be described as follows; Web CAD: It uses client server architecture and transfers the simulation events across the network Java CAD: This is similar to Web CAD. It has applets which are described in Java and uses RMI (Remote Method Invocation) over the internet for simulating and evaluating the circuits. JBits: This tool does not use the internet to deliver IP cores and delivers pre placed IP core. It is easily incorporated with online Java applets. In Java based applets, here JHDL is used as a design environment. It is developed at BYU used for creating high performance FPGA. JHDL libraries provide the components and wires that are used to create the instance. The programming language used here is Java and for simulation and compilation, Java Virtual Machine (JVM) platform is needed. Variety of design tools it supported, such as Schematic Viewer, allows the designer to quickly view the structure and hierarchy of a circuit.  ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Donatello was a master of sculpture in bronze and marble and was one of the greatest Italian Renaissance artists of his time. A lot is known about his life and career but little is known about his character and personality. He never married and seems to be a man of simple tastes. Patrons often found him hard to deal with and he demanded a lot of artistic freedom. The inscriptions and signatures on his works are among the earliest examples of classical Roman lettering. Donatello continued to explore the possibilities of the new technique he would use in his marble reliefs of the 1420 s and early 1430 s. The best of these were The Ascension, with Christ giving the keys to St. Peter, the Feast of Herod (1433 1435), the large stucco roundels with scenes from the life of St. John the Evangelist (1434 1437), and the dome of the old sacristy of St. Lorenzo shows the same technique but with color added. Donatello had also become a major sculptor in bronze. His earliest work of this was the more than life size statue of St. Louis (1423) which was replaced half a century later. Donatello in partnership with Michelozzo helped with fine bronze effigy on the tomb of the pope John XXIII in the bapistery, the Assumption of the Virgin on the Brancacci tomb and the dancing angels on the outdoor pulpit of the Prato Cathedral (1433 1438). His departure from the standards of Brunelleschi did not go to well between the two old friends and was never repaired. Brunelleschi even made epigrams against Donatello. During his partnership with Michelozzo, Donatello made works of pure sculpture, including several works of bronze. The earliest and most important of these was the Feast of Herod (1423 1427). The construction of tidal power plants could disrupt fish migration and could kill fish when passing through the turbines. These are all possible drawbacks of tidal energy. The actual impacts of tidal power are very uncertain as this particular source of energy has not been deployed and tested in our ecosystems yet. Popular believe has it that tidal power is not renewable as extracting power from the tides slows down the earth s rotation and that therefore tidal power is not a long term energy source. However, this is not correct. The natural tides already slow down the earth s rotation. Tidal energy extracts energy that otherwise would have been lost in any case. Even if we doubled the amount of energy that we would extract from the tides, tidal energy would still be able to last for the lifetime of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 25. Diction In Erik Larson s The Devil In The White City As authors, most most authors, our art is portraying the human condition. Trying to show you what it s like to be somebody else, trying to make you feel for somebody else. Patrick Rothfuss. In The Devil In The White City Erik Larson inserts the reader in the shoes of two very antonymous characters. Larson s diction enables him to create vivid pictures and descriptions, so the reader can immerse him/herself in the plot. With John Root, he uses phrases that give background to his past and his positions, but with H.H. Holmes, he allows the representation of a maniacal individual by giving the reader insight into the his sadistic ways. Erik Larsonutilizes diction to instill fear, while also adding thought provoking scenarios that leave the reader mystified and pondering the different approaches they would take if put in these deep situational instances. Erik Larson portrays Root as an intellectual person and simultaneously an all around good person. Root won acceptance into Oxford, but before he could matriculate, the war ended and his father summoned him back to America, to his new home in New York City, where Root studied civil engineering at New York University and became a draftsman for the architect who later designed St. Patrick s Cathedral (20). • 26. Consequences Of Unisciplined Children In The Veldt By Ray... Consequences of undisciplined children Many people have witnessed a toddler having a meltdown in public only to have a parent sooth them by giving in to the child s demand. Although sometimes this can be a beneficial parenting technique, if a parent over indulges a child too often, then that child can become spoiled. However in The Veldt, Ray Bradburychallenges the idea of satisfying children; he suggests through his tragic tale of the spoiled and undisciplined children Wendy and Peter, that over indulged kids will be taught to not value their family. Through the use of spoiling kids, harms of technology, and conflict, Ray Bradbury shows children need to be disciplined in order to be well rounded individuals. Bradbury uses spoiling Wendy and Peter to show they weren t well rounded, by emphasizing that they were over indulged in materialistic wants. When parents Lydia and George were talking, Lydia explained, They re insufferable let s admit it. They come and go when they like; they treat us as if we were offspring. They re spoiled and we re spoiled. The description of how the parents feel provides the reader with a better understanding that even the parents can no longer control Wendy and Peter s disrespectful ways caused by their mistakes of spoiling the children. Bradbury establishes the kids as so over indulged that even Lydia and George could not discipline the children if they put their minds to it. Since burial is a very important thing for both Achaeans and Trojans, the families of the dead ones were able to appreciate Achilles respect for the dead people. • 29. Theme Of Sensory Evidence In The Duchess Of Malfi The Duchess of Malfi by John Webster is a tragic play, which deals with love, power, and madness. The madness derives from the use of sensory evidence. In many cases, Webster uses sensory evidence to push his characters to the limit of their own mind. The concept of sensory experience is a way to grab your readers attention while using the five senses to do so. Webster employs this concept in ways that progress the plot. However, it causes much trouble for most of the characters, especially The Duchess herself. Although there could be many factors that affect the death of the Duchess, the use of the sensory experience is the most evident. We can easily observe this by her marriageto Antonio, her relationship with Bosola, and her problems with Ferdinand. To begin, a crucial conversation shapes the course of the play in a subtle but immense way. In Act 1, scene 3, The Cardinal and Ferdinand insist that The Duchess does not remarry after the death of her husband. However, they are not aware that the Duchess is planning on marrying Antonio, her old steward. The following citation shows Ferdinand s thought of those who remarry. Marry! They are most luxurious/will wed twice. (John Webster, Act 1, scene 3, line 6 7) His comment uses the word Luxurious which means lecherous. Ferdinand is saying that widows that remarry are driven by an excessive desire for sexual relations and nothing more. It was during the summer of my 7th grade that I first stumbled upon the Rubik s cube. The Rubik s cube is a cube with different colors on all sides. The goal is to be able to return the original look of the cube, with all the edges and corners corresponding to the center color of each face. People seem to think the cube is made out of 27 cubes, but it is actually made of a core. The other pieces fit in with the core to give the look of multiple cubes grouped together. I remembered the day vividly when I held the glamorous box with the Qi Yi BullFight (Name of the Rubik s Cube) inside. The cube felt special, it was an experience I had never encountered. Perfect. • 31. The Feminist Movement Of Henrik Ibsen s Ibsen Granted that, Ibsen had disclosed that he was not consciously writing the play to support the feminist movement, nor did he have any intentions to motivate women to follow Nora s footsteps. He actually had treated a Scandinavian who had followed Nora s footsteps distastefully, and criticized her because she took her child when running away, instead of running away by herself (Templeton 35). The reason for his hypocritical attitude to the woman was to protect himself from the many critics that were already accusing him of a supporter. He had many women in his life that were mistreated due to the societal differences, and actually was mentored by Magdalen Thoresen, who was one of the first New Woman he had met. He eventually married her Magdalen s stepdaughter, Suzannah, and wrote about her in order to remind people of Suzannah (Templeton 36). Ibsen may have spoken out against being a supporter, but his motives for such actions were very prevalent in his life. Nevertheless, those two females were not the most important feminists in his life however. Camilla Collett, one of the most active feminists in the European countries had. A critical display would consist of four images, a target, cohort competitor, and two distractors. The second goal of the first experiment was to see how the gendered articles would influence the lexical activation during word recognition. In this trial, using phonologically distinct words, a critical display could be composed of the target word le cerf volant (the kite), the paired distractor la coccinelle (the ladybug), and two competitors le dauphin (the dolphin) and la tomate (the tomato). Upon hearing the beginning of the utterance le , the participant is expected to fixate on both the images of the target, the kite, and the masculine competitor, the dolphin. If the participant does indeed do this, it shows that the matching gender marked articles are being accessed at the start of the utterance and as more sound input is processed, the target word gets more activated, eventually retrieving the correct word and fixating on the right image. c) Figure 5 illustrates the main results of Experiment 2, displaying the probability of fixation over time in milliseconds for the target, cohort competitor, and the average of the distractors. It later emerged that they were actually SS agents in disguise and that the attack was done so as to justify the impending invasion of Poland. The Soviet Union also attacked Poland from the east after signing non aggression pacts with Germany and Japan. The United Kingdom and France declared war on Germany on September 3, heralding the global nature of the war. Poland was overrun in less than a month and Germany aimed to consolidate their advantage by invading Denmark and Norway for getting access to iron ore shipments from Sweden which was cut off owing to the naval blockade imposed by the allies .The Soviet Union, in turn, attacked Finland. In addition, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg also fell to the German forces. Germany next prepared for the invasion of France. The French had the heavily fortified Maginot line which they hoped would contain the advancing German troops.
