How Do You Agree That Bill s Father Is A Reckless Driving
A behavioral psychologist would say that Bill participates in unhealthy and risky behavior such
as drinking heavily and driving recklessly because he has been influenced by her family to act
like that. For example, Bill s father could have been an alocholic and a careless driver. His father
may drink a lot, so naturally Bill may do the same and pick up his father s behaviors.
Additionally, Bill s father could have tought Bill how to drive. Assuming that Bill s father is a
reckless driving, Bill could have learned that it is acceptable to drive in a careless manner. Bill s
father could have influenced Bill s behavior and tendency to drink heavily, drive recklessly, and
participate in unhealthy and risky behavior. A socio cultural psychologist

Essay On Why Ambien Visits America
Why Ambien related ER visits are increasing in America?
A recent study conducted by SAMHSA unit of the United States revealed that there was a steep
increase in the number of emergency room visits owing to the intake of prescribed sleep
medications like Ambien. The study analyzed ER archives from 2005 2010, which indicated that
the ER visits related to Ambienhad risen by 220 percent over the five years. The study report
concluded that careful monitoring of drugs like Ambien is a necessity for safe use by the public.
This article further discusses and uncovers the reasons behind the rise in Ambien related ER visits
in America.
The reason
Most of the researchers on the drug monitoring unit, SAMHSA had mentioned that a major
portion of the Ambien ER visits were of people who were already on other medications. Ambien,
alone, was not triggering any severe side effects. However, the drug when coupled with other
drugs or chemicals was able to trigger severe side effects that resulted in the spike of ER visits
during that particular period. This is the principle of Drug interaction, where a certain drug that you
take may change its properties based on the othermedications you take. This could amplify the risk
associated with the drug, ultimately leading to serious side effects. Ambien, as a drug has severe
interactions with other drugs, which are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Alcoholic drinks also contain Sodium Oxybate in very low amounts. Sodium Oxybate, psychoactive
medications, and alcohol affect the central nervous system s normal functioning temporarily. If a
person on psychoactive drugs for insomnia takes Ambien, or if they take Ambien with excess
alcohol in their system, they may experience the severity of side effects like confusion, restlessness,
distress, and loss of coordination. Most doctors recommend not taking Ambien with alcohol or in
combination with any psychoactive

Corporate Governance RBS Essay
The Royal Bank of Scotland Case
Nicole Kraemer (413991)
The rise and fall of the Royal Bank of Scotland is characterized by poor corporate governance
which allowed for the complete dominance of the executive management over the board of
directors and a massive principal agent problem. Positive social dynamics and the power of weak
ties allowed for compliance while intimidation and bullying tactics silenced questions, concerns and
opposition. The board s utter compliancy and borderline negligence enabled rampant, unchecked
empire building at the cost of shareholder value and led to a spiral of unaccountability and gross
incompetence. Stakeholders loss of confidence from misinformation and misdirection was an
inevitability that sealed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Talks about the legality of the merger delayed the sale of ABN, during which the housing market
situation worsened and analysts warned that the crisis was spreading up investment chain. During
this time, Goodwin admitted that RBS is involved in subprime mortgage trading but only
minimally17.
Here we see a failure of the board to look at management critically. They accepted only the
information presented to them by the CEO and did not demand a better picture on the state of RBS
s business in mortgage trading even while the CEO s story seemed to constantly be changing. The
board exists as a watchdog to the executive management yet nothing was done to hold the CEO
accountable to the truth.
Meanwhile, Goodwin ignored warnings of the worsening crisis while at the same time failing to
conduct a due diligence assessment of ABN s assets and in October 2007 the consortium secured
the takeover for €71bn18,19. The deal was unanimously approved by the RBS board and the
payment made in cash from the bank s reserves. This led to a fatal mismatch of the long term assets
and short term liabilities.
By December it had become apparent that ABN was heavily entrenched in exposure to subprime
loans and RBS lost over ВЈ1.5bn20. Despite repeated denials that RBS would not have to resort to
inorganic capital growth, Goodwin confirmed they would sell ВЈ12bn in new shares a couple
months later21. Faith rapidly evaporated, the market was thrown into chaos and share prices

Dianetics Mental Health
Dianetics is an adventure. It is exploration into terra incognita, the human mind, the vast and
hitherto unknown realm half an inch back of our foreheads... the adventure is yours to know why
you did what you did when you did it, to know what caused those Dark and Unknown fears which
came in nightmares as a child, to know where your moments of pain and pleasure lay (Hubbard)
Dianetics has Greek origins, dia means through and nous is mind or soul, when put together it is
defined as what the mind or soul is doing to the body. Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental
Health was published in 1950 by L. Ron Hubbard. Mr. Hubbard wrote this book in a quest to find

Some goes as far as brain washing teens and addicts, this per say is the influence Scientology has
on the arts.
You ve got to remember that Scientologists are experts at mind control. The patients don t even

there are no doctors, there are no nurses there... It s all Scientology training routines and auditing

Though it is not a direct role many books and documentaries have been made shaming the religion
and labeling it a cult. There have been claims that Scientology has paid to place subliminal
messages in movies, especially Tom Cruise and John Travolta casted. No evidence has been found
to support these accusations.
Scientology has been classified a cult for a multitude of reasons, one of many is the amount of
money they ask for from their members. The church defends against these allegations with all of
the campaigns they supports and that each member is encouraged to give as they can. There are six
main campaigns the church created and many laws they fights for and against. The church suggest

Ethnicity and Exclusion through Space
Chapter two
Methodology
The first point of call was to have a clear and sharp understanding of the dissertation topic and this
was done through the use of online research as there is a vast amount of information that can be
collected in relation to integrating communities. This was then followed by the key significance to
the main objective which is gathering data. To help with the findings and analysis, the research has
to be focused more on areas where communities benefit through people of different backgrounds
living together and sharing basic commodities, these could be sharing a kitchen, communal
gardens, open spaces and even a bench in the public park.2 As there are quite a number of diverse
people in the community, a lot of information was collected from them through one on one
discussion. Although the information collected was not very satisfactory, care had to be taken as
to select what to use. This was also the issue with selecting case studies which deals specifically
with sociable housing which in these communities is widely known as co housing. The evidence
collected from sources had to be carefully selected and used accordingly. A model was then
developed to assess how people of different background can be incorporated through various
substances. This was then implemented within separate case studies and the results explored and
analysed. The model was then tried on another project to see if it works.
The method of research used in this thesis is by use

The Health Of A Health Care System
A health care system is a framework of interrelated, interacting, and interdependent descriptions of
human development in a given country, region, or community. This system of human development
functions as an organized measure to promote and provide treatment in which individuals reach
their highest attainable level of physical, mental, and social well being. All health care systems are
grounded in the concept that genetic and biological factors must be taken into account to
understand the problems and behaviors of a specific population. The interconnected factors that
determine an individual s health status includes personal features, social status, culture,
environment, educational attainment, health behaviors, childhood development, access to care, and
government policy. International collaboration of ideas on the progression of transnational health
is greatly endorsed for the benefit of complete global health care. Health care has social,
governmental, and financial implications that affect all members of the health care system and in
countries within the Central American region specially, citizens have fallen victim to health
disparities that have resulted from long term neglect of the underlying factors that perpetuate this
issue. It is imperative for children to develop with healthy nutrition during their first five years of
life in order to sustain a healthy well being. When a child experiences stunted growth, they often
have difficulties learning and

Cholera Essay
Background:
Cholera is a dehydrating illness that affects millions of people worldwide. Although cholera
vaccines can provide some protection against illness, the protective efficacy conferred by current
vaccines are not equivalent to natural infection of Vibrio cholerae (1,2). To combat cholera
infection, the WHO has proposed a global initiative to reduce cholera deaths by 90 percent by 2030.
In this call to action, the WHO designates the improvement and distribution of oral cholera vaccines
as essential to success (3). The vibriocidal antibody assay is the gold standard for assessing patient
immunogenicity to cholera infection. The assay quantifies the inhibition of bacterial growth due to
serially diluted complement standardized ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the antibodies characterized were specific to the o antigen, part of the
lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in the outer membrane of V. cholerae (4). After reviewing this study,
we selected the IgG P1 A2 monoclonal antibody, specific to the o antigen, as an appropriate
vector to standardize the vibriocidal through standard killing of V. cholerae in a vibriocidal assay.
IgG P1 A2 was chosen due to its low EC50 (ng/mL) concentration relative to the other monoclonal
antibodies (Fig. 1A B). By using a standard concentration of monoclonal antibody run alongside
serum in a vibriocidal assay, cross lab differences in serum titer can be adjusted for by relative
differences in IgG P1 A2 antibody concentrations at the fifty percent growth inhibition point of the
bacteria.
Investigating Cross Lab Variation: To investigate this hypothesis, data had to be generated to
employ the standardization method. In collaboration with investigators at the University of Utah
and the icddr,b (International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh), the serum of
45 and 30 cholera patients from Haiti and South Sudan were analyzed by vibriocidal against the
V. cholerae strains PIC018 Inaba and PIC018 Ogawa with a serially diluted monoclonal antibody
standard. By running part of the cohort at MGH, I developed a proficiency in the vibriocidal assay.
I then analyzed the titers

Shakespeare s Theory Of Sir Francis Bacon Vs. William...
There are a variety of theories that suggest that Sir Francis Bacon was, in fact, William
Shakespeare. Supporters of these claims refer to Shakespeare s writing style, lack of education, and
reportedly hidden messages within his texts as some of the evidence that indicates that Bacon was
the real author of the many plays and poems attributed to Shakespeare. These assertions do not
conclusively substantiate the Bacon theory and only attempt to discredit the real William
Shakespeare. Therefore, Sir Francis Bacon did not write as William Shakespeare. The first theory
of Sir Francis Bacon being the true author of Shakespeare, came from the author Delia Bacon no

However, just because it was stated that way, does not mean that Sir Francis Bacon wrote under
the name William Shakespeare. Anybody could write their name beside a famous authors name,
such as J.R. Rowling, that does not mean that this random person wrote all her novels. In this
time, it was very common for multiple publications to have the same phrases stated in them, this
does not mean that for every piece of work with the same statement in it, was written by the
same author. If this were the case, then why are there not more philosophies as too who wrote
Shakespeare? Sir Francis Bacon and Shakespeare did have a very different style of writing. Sir
Francis Bacon s writings was more stilted and abrupt compared to those works of Shakespeare .
Bacon did his best work when he viewed life from an ancient elevation or when he looked back
through the silver haze of the years at the earlier thoughts, for only then did he write of
experiences common to mankind. . Plus, Bacon practically never spoke unwholesomely about
people, were as Shakespeare would make fun of people in his works. The similarity and identity
of statement in their works, however remarkable they may seem at first glance, appear, after close
examination, to be the result of the use of the literary stock in trade of the age .

Stephen King Movie Vs Book
While many books in the past have received the honor of being produced onto the big screen for
all of audiences to see, no author has done it better than horror themed writer, Stephen King.
Stephen King has written over novels and at least 200 short stories. Amongst all of his books, have
been produced into filmadaptations, he even has had some produced into television series s such
as Under the Dome. Some of King s most noteworthy books, It and The Shining, have even been
produced into a miniseries. A miniseries is similar to a television series in the sense that they
appear in episodes. In this case, it essentially is just a very long movie broken into predetermined
amount of episodes and then aired on television. Even though King s... Show more content on

The movie has very large cult following and truly is a great film. Some people even believe that
without the movie, the novel would not be as popular as it is. In an article written by Mark Hodge
titled Stephen King Still Won t Accept Kubrick s Genius, Hodge states It is also testament to
Kubrick s brilliance, and of course the power of the moving picture, that his film as usurped the
book within pop culture. That rare achievement is perhaps something which irks King the most.
(Hodge). While Kubrick s version of the film is still great, to say that the film surpasses the book
is a far fetched claim. As the popular thought goes, the book is always better than the film.
Coming from a huge Stephen King fan, it is easy to understand his disdain towards the film. As
Laura Miller states in her article What Stanley Kubrick Got Wrong About The Shining You don
t have to dislike Kubrick s The Shining to see King s point. The two men represent diametrically
opposed approaches to creating narrative art. (Miller). Kubrick s film does not stay true to the
novel and leaves out a lot, however, that does not mean the film was awful. The miniseries
attempted to do justice towards the novel and it did, it just did not surpass the film. The film had
its own look on the novel as did the miniseries, it just so happens that the miniseries stays true to
the novel, as King had originally set out to do. Overall, both versions are great, they just capture the
novel in a different

A Rose For Emily Grierson Symbolism
The symbolism of Emily Grierson in A Rose for Emily William Faulkner s short story, A Rose
for Emily, is a textbook example of the Southern Gothic genre. Set in the deep south in the late
1800s, it is an examination of the Old South s unwillingness to change after losing the Civil War.
The main character Emily Grierson is faced with several hardships that are shown throughout
the story. In this paper, I will argue that Emily symbolizes the South s inability to progress after
losing the civil war. Grierson, a relic of the white aristocracy, resists every step toward progress
the town makes. A shut in, Emily is the epitome of the Southern oddity, as she performs peculiar
rituals behind closed doors. The town is left to wonder about her; As Faulkner states, upon her
death, people went to see the inside of her house, which no one save a manservant had seen in
the last ten years (Faulkner 391). In fact, Emily s self imposed isolation lasts most of her adult
life. Every time she refuses to live in concert with society s new rules, Emily is symbolizing the
South s struggle to progress after losing the war.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her version of reality is the only one she will accept. When faced with her father s death, for
example, Faulkner states that Emily met them dressed as usual and with no trace of grief on her
face (Faulkner 393). It is almost as if she had convinced herself that her father was still alive. Her
disconnect with the traditional rituals of death lead her to live with her father s dead body for
three days. Furthermore, each snub on a literal level is symbolic of a deeper rejection that the
south simply is at a loss for proper

How Did Buddy Holly Influence The 1950 s
Charles Hardin Holley, also known as Buddy Holly, was one of the most significant and
influential rock n roll icons of the 1950 s even though he only ever had one chart topping single.
Holly s musical legend was one of many firsts: First rock n roll performer to insist on artistic
control over his material and to write/arrange his own songs and supervise his studio sessions.
First to master the technical parts of recording including echo, double tracking and overdubbing
(he recorded his own voice and guitar playing). First to add classical stringed instruments in rock
music. First to ditch the pretty boy looks of most 1950 s performers for a more intelligent, slightly
geeky look, and the first rock musician to attract not only a female, but also a male audience.
Singing Style
Holly had a unique singing style which featured stretched syllables and high energy. He broke the
typical rock practice by singing ballads with a feeling of nervous excitement, said Arnold Shaw in
The Rockin 50s. Buddy took a ballad of woeful words and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Buddy Holly in 1994 which references the singer. Perhaps one of the most known tributes is
American Pie released in 1971 by Don McLean. The song memorialized the day the music died,
referring to February 3rd, 1959, the day Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and Big Bopper died in a
tragic plane crash. Eddie Cochran recorded Three Stars, a tribute to the singers deaths just one
day after the accident. He was a huge hit in England; Buddy, a musical based on Holly s life

Ethical Decisions In The Workplace
We, as individuals, face ethical decisions everyday whether it be for our job or within ourselves.
I currently am facing an ethical dilemma myself. My boss has asked me to balance the books
for the company by tomorrow morning. He has a meeting in the afternoon with the board to
discuss the numbers, so I know I can not be late, however, there is a complication with my
calculations. I can not get the book to balance out. I am scared that my boss will get fired if he
does not have the numbers on time. Consequently, I must make a decision on how I am going to
get correct numbers to my boss by tomorrow morning.
There are so many options and directions I could go to solve this problem. I have chosen to
solve my issue by going back through each month to ensure that all the amounts balance out. I
understand this will take a great deal of time, but it is crucial to find where I made a mistake.
First, I will make sure that all of the amounts are placed in the correct category. For example, I
want to ensure that money used for rent is credited from cash in bank and debited in rent expense.
After I do that, I should be able to check if the debits and credits equal each other. One major
element to accounting that I have learned is that your credits and debits should always equal each
other and if they do not, then you have made a mistake ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Doing the right thing may not always be the easiest, but that should not change anything. I am
not 100 percent certain if I will get the book to balance out by tomorrow morning, but I do know
that no matter what I will take responsibility for my work whether it be bad or good. If I do the
right thing, then I can at least walk away knowing that I did not cheat to win, instead I failed, yet I
can use this failure as a learning experience. Overall, taking responsibility, in my opinion, is the
most ethical decision I can make, therefore, that is what I will

adolescents intellectual and social development.
Document A bestows a marvelous example on how gaming addictioncan harm one intellectually.
The days of Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario Kart, and Power Rangers have disappeared and been
replaced with Multi User Dungeon games such as LambdaMOO . This game includes
adventures and is more socially oriented; gamers are able to become characters and travel
through quests in attempt to win. Adolescents are spending time playing video games rather
than studying for tests, the total amount of hours played per week range from 60 to 70 hours.
Adolescents prioritize video games, like LambdaMOO, over education and decide to play all
night and miss their morning classes. These gamers do not meet their family s expectations and
their GPA slowly falls lower and lower. They spend up to 10 hours per day and attend one or two
afternoon classes. After class or eating dinner, these gaming addicts rush into their room to play

this. The number of gamers outnumber those who register to vote or debate issues such as war and
peace. Four out of five households have a video game console with adolescents playing video
games. The chances of teens actually caring about war and peace is minimal; a majority of teens
are focused on either education or games. There are far more websites regarding video games than
there are about war, peace, and

A Citizen in the Theatre Community
The expression the world s a stage truly does hold up in today s modernized society. Theatre is a
lively subject, enabling us to take written language and add it with human emotion to receive a
fascinating presentation that captivates the audience and the actors alike. Being up on stage
has a plethora of benefits but comes with many responsibilities as well. As a member of the
Maplewood Richmond Heights High School, I am responsible for recognizing what I am
responsible for, what my standards are, and what my expectations for my peers in this class
should be. As a citizen, a steward, a leader, and a scholar, I should uphold others experiences in
this class in addition to my own. To do this, I will need to actively engage in classroom activities
every day and be present. By doing these things, I will ensure that I be an active participant in the
Theatre I learning experience. In addition, I can also contribute expertise, caring, and commitment
to the class so that it can function correctly as a team. This attitude toward my class will contribute
to better social relations within it and a better learning experience among my peers. An example
high expectations might happen during a play, where everyone is forced to contribute and persevere

easily fall apart if one person didn t do the right thing. I would greatly dislike to be that person, so

Sexually Transmitted Disease ( Std )
Sexually transmitted disease (STD) is one of the listed topics for Healthy people 2020 area for
improvement. The importance for prevention of STD is marked by a number of different factors
like high yearly increase in infected individuals, rise in healthcare cost, and long term health
care complications associated with untreated STDs. Another significant reason for the
importance of STD prevention is nearly half of the new cases of infected individuals are young
adults between the ages of 15 24 (U. S. Department of Health Human Services [HHS], 2015).
Adolescents between the age of 15 19 and young adults between the age of 20 24 are at a
disproportionate rate in the number of new STD cases yearly, in comparison to adults and older
adults (HHS, 2015). Furthermore, not all STD cases are reported or accounted for annually, and
case numbers are possibly much higher than the reported incidents that only include Clamydia,
Gonorrhea, and syphilis. This target population is at an increase need for safe sex practices to
reduce the prevalence of new cases annually. The increase need for education is pivotal for the
reduction of new STD cases among adolescents. In an article entitled, Comprehensive Sex
Educationfor Teens is More Effective than Abstinence only programs, from the American Journal of

Differences Between The Kaiser And The Tsar
The telegrams exchanged between Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany and Tsar Nicolas II of Russia
between the dates of 29 July and 1 August, are merely a small section of the vast array of
telegrams exchanged between the two, ranging more than 2 decades (from 1894 to 1914).
While the early volumes of the telegrams were attempts by the Kaiser to (stir) up the Czar s
monarchical instinct against the French Republic and to appear congenial, the final telegrams
between the Kaiser and the Tsar were cautious warnings against mobilising and the threat of war.
The telegrams between Wilhelm and Nicolas are directly weaved into the events of the July
Crisis and the eve of World War 1. The tension between the two rulers is reflected through the
firm and stern tone of the conversation, and the hidden animosity between the two. The Kaiser
and the Tsar, related through Maria Pavlovna by blood and through marriage as the Tsar s wife
was the Kaiser s first cousin, often close their telegrams with either Willy or Nicky , however the
hidden conflict between the two is observed when considering their position towards the Sarajevo
assassination. When viewing the correspondence between the Nicolas and Wilhelm it is important
to note the vastly different opinions towards the assassination of the Austro Hungarian heir, Franz
Ferdinand. Russia s ties with Serbia meant that is was profoundly important for them to either
prevent a war declared on Serbia or defend them at all costs. However, Russia

Laissez Faire Vs. State Intervention
1800s: Laissez faire vs. State Intervention
What does, exactly, laissez faire mean? According to the Oxford dictionary, this French term
means literally allow to do , however, in nineteenth century Britain, this word was used to define a
new policy of non intervention in free market affairs by governments, in order to allow things to
follow their own course without any external help, as suggested from some of the most famous
economists of the era, as Adam Smith, his followers Thomas Robert Malthus and David Ricardo, or
Samuel Smiles.
These economists believed in a hands off approach of self help, as it can be seen from their
written works. For example, Samuel Smiles (1859) wrote: Even the best institutions can give a
man no active help. Perhaps, most they can do is, to leave him free to develop himself and
improve his individual condition. Basically, they strongly believed in the idea of the self made man
, capable of becoming successful by his own efforts. Anyhow, this belief that the interest of an
individual would have led, in the end, to benefits for both the economy and the society, as
highlighted by Smith (1776), strongly disagreed with the living conditions of the nineteenth century
British society s situation. In fact, even though this century brought various improvements to the
world, with a period of huge innovation known as Industrialisation , there was a huge gap between
social classes, given that any change was made available for poor people, that

Theme Of Water In Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
Written Task 2 The Symbol of Water within Samuel Coleridge s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Romantic literature writers commonly input elements of nature within their writing to express their
opinions. Samuel Taylor Coleridge includes the most abundant form of nature, water, within The
Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Water, in its various forms, symbolizes the power and force of
nature in both the natural and spiritual world. Water in the form of ice represents imprisonment
and the harsh acts that nature imposes as a punishment. The Mariner the main character of the
ballad says that the ice was all between. / The ice was here, the ice was there, / the ice was all
around , essentially imprisoning him within it (58 60). Repeating the word... Show more content on

While surrounded on the ship, there is water, water, everywhere. / Nor any drop to drink for the
mariner and his crew because the ocean is all made of salt water (121 122). Nature torments the
crew by not letting them have any fresh water as punishment for their actions, and the irony of
the drought is how there is water everywhere but they still are in a drought, constantly being
teased by nature; also, in attempts to describe the degree of irony, water is repeated twice
highlighting the access of water that is unavailable. The water is also described as like a witch s
oils which Burnt green, and blue, and white (129 130). Water is compared by a simile to witch s
oils , equating the necessary resource of water to other evil related liquids; this in turn de values the
water that they need to live, and continues the entrapment of the crew as punishment. Nearing the
end of the passage, water still rumbled on, / Still louder and more dread in a never ending torment
of water and imprisonment (547 548). Water continuously represents the harsh punishments of
nature, specifically eliciting fear in the Mariner as words such as dread and rumbled impose fear
and stun the Mariner, during the falling action of the ballad. Nature barrages the Mariner with
punishment using irony and imprisonment through the element of water excessively. Samuel

ZONE IN THE SUDBURY NI CU DEPOSITS: ONTARIO, CANADA
WILLIAMS, Jane B. (University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, willijan@uwec.edu)
Sudbury, Canada is the location of a world class Ni Cu deposit phenomena. Numerous studies have
produced an explanation for the complex evolution of its deposition and enrichment thanks to the
impaction of a meteorite 1.85 million years ago. The impact of the meteorite is thought to have
caused fracturing that led to the generation of magma from deep in the crust that helped in later
filling the crater and producing the igneous complex (Faggart et. al., 1985). The igneous complex
(Figure 1a) has an elongated shape (60 km long and 27 km wide) with circular deposits surrounding
it similar to a bulls eye. Evidence of the meteoric impact includes brecciation located in the center of
the basin (Onaping Formation), deformation of the margin of the intrusive complex (Huronian
Group), shatter cones, and pseudotachylite. The meteor is thought to have flash melted the crust
which proceeded to differentiate into a granophyre and a leuconorite to norite composition. The
granophyre makes up 60% of the complex and the leuconorite and norite make up the remaining
40% (Figure 1b)(Barnes et. al., 2005). About 50% of the ore is found in the sublayer norite and the
breccia that is associated with the norite. This ore is mainly disseminated sulphides. The massive

Change Of Identity In I Am Not Esther By Fleur Beale
The novel, I am not Esther, written by Fleur Beale follows Kirby Greenland, a fourteen year old
girl, who is suddenly abandoned by her mother. Kirby is then forced to live with family members
she has never met before in an unfamiliar, religious community with strict rules and regulations.
During her time in the community, also considered as a cult , Kirby faced the challenges of
identity change and loss as well as abandonment and isolation. This helped me develop a deep
understandingof Kirby and how she undergoes a large character development throughout the text.
Firstly, I gained an understanding of Kirby and her character development through how she
dealt with her loss and change of identity. When Kirby first entered the community, she is
stripped of her belongings and even her name they give her a new biblical name of Esther . This
made Kirby feel outraged and like her identity had just been attacked. Kirby faces this challenge
by reproaching the change instantly. I know this because she says I m Kirby, not Esther for God
s sake. This showed me that Kirby is sure of her identity and would disobey the community to act
in a way which is true to herself. However, after spending so much time with unfamiliar people
and in an unfamiliar environment, Kirby questions whether she is Kirby or Esther, seeing her two
self consciousness as two separate beings. Kirby is asked by Mrs Fletcher, the guidance counsellor
whom she enlisted help from, what she wished to be called.

History And History Of Feminism
Feminism. So, what is Feminism and how did it begin? By definition, Feminism is the political,
social, and cultural movement towards women s rights and equality between men and women. It is
the belief that all sexes deserve to be treated as equals regardless of any physical and biological
attributes.
The history. The term itself originated from, socialist, Charles Fourier, back in the 1890s. Various
historians believe that the history of the Feminist Movement had three waves. The First Wave
began in the 19th and 20th century in the United States and the United Kingdom. This first wave
had more to do with obtaining political power and abolishing the norm of treating women as
property. Notable women such as Margaret Sanger, Voltairine de Cleyre,... Show more content on

Rape culture is the ideology of normalizing rape and sexual assault. The media, unjust verdicts
against rape victims, and victim blaming reinforces this type of mentality. According to the Rape,
Abuse, and Incest National Network statistics, only a third sexual assaults are reported to the
police. This is widely because of the negative perception that comes with being a rape victim.
Victims are often terrified of the prejudice that comes with stepping forward and reporting the case.
The Feminism Movement has helped empowered a large number of women to put an end to this
ideology. Though still present in our society, the movement has brought about powerful events such
as the Amber Rose Slut Walk. Which serves to empower as well as abolish negative conceptions

this to distinguish it from the nation state with the same name today), located at the crossroads of

December 15, 2014 Introduction
Teams take on all shapes and sizes. It seems as if you don t have to look very far to see both the
importance and impact that teams have on almost every aspect of life as we know it. Those who
learn how to properly harness the power of teamwork understand how it can create an incredible
opportunity and potential for progress and accomplishment. Teams that find the ability to work
together with a sense of unity and common vision seem to produce at high levels of effectiveness.
Teamwork also, however, can create environments where conflict and challenge can easily arise
and hinder the ability to work together with effectiveness. Patrick Lencioni states, As difficult as it
is to build a cohesive team, it is not complicated. As simple as it may be, for many leaders the
ability to build, develop and properly utilize teams is a challenge. For church ministry leaders, the
ability to build and develop teams and manage conflict are vital skill sets that must be invested in
to understand and develop. In the pages ahead I plan to explore from a biblical perspective of why
the building and development of teams is so important, and some of the challenges that

The soldier s perspectives on the length of the war were influenced by the motivation to protect
their way of life. In describing the sentiments of Union and Confederate soldiers we can use
some examples that are in letters sent home by the soldiers. One Kentucky confederate wrote, I
choose to fight for southern rights and southern liberty against the vandals of the North who
were determined to destroy slavery [vi]. Another opinion by a Wisconsin Union soldier states his
reasons for fighting in the war, I have no heart in this war if the slaves cannot go free [vii]Both
the North and the South believed to be fighting to preserve the society that was prevalent in the
respective regions of the United States. The South was trying to protect the institution of slavery
and their society. The North, at the start of the war, only had the intention to overcome the
succession, but they later realized that it could only do this by destroying slavery[viii]. When it
became apparent to the soldiers on the battlefield that the war would not end quickly, the tone of
enthusiasm changed. An example of the change in attitude can be obtained from the following
passage that was written by the Union soldier Jno R. McClure to his sister in 1862 I will tell you
what I think and that is the north will never whip the south as long as there is a man left in the

Lines Written a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey by William...
William Wordsworth was a very wise man. He was born into a lot of wealth. In his time, the
wealthy people could afford not to work. Some of them would just travel. They would walk
from town to town, paying for whatever they needed to survive. Wordsworth was one of those
people. He would take trips that lasted years. After one of these very long journeys, he came
back home, and sat on a hillside a few miles above Tintern Abbey, an old, ruined cathedral. It truly
was a long journey. Five years have past, he says. Five years is a long timeto be away from home.
As he sat there, above the cathedral, he thought a lot about what it was like to come back home. In
his poem, Lines Written a few Miles Above Tintern Abbey, William Wordsworth
says a lot about the
progression of individual life, and the steady, circular repetitiveness of life as a whole. First,
Wordsworth writes about the past. Much of the poem is a reflection of his earlier days. He feels
quite nostalgic toward his childhood. He misses the simplicity and the naivety of when he was a
young boy. Although he thinks that he enjoyed his past, he can t quite remember that far back.
Wordsworth says, with gleams of half extinguished thought. With many recognitions dim and
faint... The past was definitely an important part of who he is, but he can t remember exactly what
happened way back then. Next, Wordsworth talks about his presentfeelings. To sum it all up in one
sentence, he is happy. He

Remember when everybody was obsessed with Bigfoot?! Well, it appears that the newest
obsession is the Skunk Ape. You probably pictured an animal that is literally half skunk and have

that skunk apes are a hoax, it s obvious that they are real because there are pictures and articles that
prove that they do exist. The skunk apeis a hominid cryptid; It is a very tall animal. The males can
be up to seven feet tall and weigh 350 pounds. The females can grow up to six feet and weigh up
to 250 pounds (Shealy). Both genders seem to be strong animals. They are considered a bipedal
animal since they have two feet and each foot has five toes (Nickell). It is said that they smell
horrible. The following excerpt describes the skunk ape s particular smell, ...distinguished as
smelly, ... rancid, putrid odor, like that of rotten food and dead animal ... having the usual scent of
cabbage and rotten eggs (Nickell). They smell like this because they hang out in swamps with other
nasty creatures. As far as their habitat, they are found throughout Florida. They occupy places like
the Everglades, swamps, alligator caves or national parks. According to a web article, They have
been spotted as far north as Tallahassee and as far south as Lostman s River (Shealy). It s crazy to

Mystical Experiences
The four main characteristics of a mystical experience include ineffability, transiency, passivity, and
being of a noetic quality. Regarding ineffability, a mystical experience is often described as states
of feeling and something so new, unknown, and beyond comprehension that language cannot fully
explain it, and shouldn t. The experience is other worldly and outside of the realm of existence we
reside, therefore rendering its nature indescribable. It must be experienced not explained. Many
experiences are often in noetic quality where states of knowledge and insight into depths of truth
unplumbed by the discursive intellect are experienced. The inherent act of one realizing and
understanding new information, feelings, and truths is by definition intellectual and therefore
illustrates proof that conceptual reasoning was implemented. Mystical experiences are often
transient and last for a short period of time. It comes and goes like most good things. Mystical
experiences often come with a sense of passivity were the experiencer is overcome by the Other,
something significantly more powerful that can temporarily suspend their self determination and
will. Maybe they need to be controlled in order to let go and fully experience mysticism.... Show

Examples Of Racial Discrimination In Huckleberry Finn
Racial discrimination can be best defined as treating someone unfairly based on their race. The
American social issue in the story Adventures of Huckleberry Finn , by Mark Twain, is racial
discrimination. This story takes place along the mississippi river during the 1830 s, a time where
racism was very strong in the south. African Americans during that time period were treated very
poorly just because of their skin. The social issue of racial discriminationin this story is still
relevant today and can be seen in the articles written by S.J. Prince, Mike Snider, and Genevieve
Bookwalter. S.J. Prince in his article, WATCH: Man in Wheelchair Assaults Man in Airport for

  • 2. How Do You Agree That Bill s Father Is A Reckless Driving A behavioral psychologist would say that Bill participates in unhealthy and risky behavior such as drinking heavily and driving recklessly because he has been influenced by her family to act like that. For example, Bill s father could have been an alocholic and a careless driver. His father may drink a lot, so naturally Bill may do the same and pick up his father s behaviors. Additionally, Bill s father could have tought Bill how to drive. Assuming that Bill s father is a reckless driving, Bill could have learned that it is acceptable to drive in a careless manner. • 3. Essay On Why Ambien Visits America Why Ambien related ER visits are increasing in America? A recent study conducted by SAMHSA unit of the United States revealed that there was a steep increase in the number of emergency room visits owing to the intake of prescribed sleep medications like Ambien. The study analyzed ER archives from 2005 2010, which indicated that the ER visits related to Ambienhad risen by 220 percent over the five years. The study report concluded that careful monitoring of drugs like Ambien is a necessity for safe use by the public. This article further discusses and uncovers the reasons behind the rise in Ambien related ER visits in America. The reason Most of the researchers on the drug monitoring unit, SAMHSA had mentioned that a major portion of the Ambien ER visits were of people who were already on other medications. Ambien, alone, was not triggering any severe side effects. However, the drug when coupled with other drugs or chemicals was able to trigger severe side effects that resulted in the spike of ER visits during that particular period. This is the principle of Drug interaction, where a certain drug that you take may change its properties based on the othermedications you take. This could amplify the risk associated with the drug, ultimately leading to serious side effects. Ambien, as a drug has severe interactions with other drugs, which are ... Corporate Governance RBS Essay The Royal Bank of Scotland Case Nicole Kraemer (413991) The rise and fall of the Royal Bank of Scotland is characterized by poor corporate governance which allowed for the complete dominance of the executive management over the board of directors and a massive principal agent problem. Positive social dynamics and the power of weak ties allowed for compliance while intimidation and bullying tactics silenced questions, concerns and opposition. The board s utter compliancy and borderline negligence enabled rampant, unchecked empire building at the cost of shareholder value and led to a spiral of unaccountability and gross incompetence. Stakeholders loss of confidence from misinformation and misdirection was an inevitability that sealed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Talks about the legality of the merger delayed the sale of ABN, during which the housing market situation worsened and analysts warned that the crisis was spreading up investment chain. During this time, Goodwin admitted that RBS is involved in subprime mortgage trading but only minimally17. Here we see a failure of the board to look at management critically. They accepted only the information presented to them by the CEO and did not demand a better picture on the state of RBS s business in mortgage trading even while the CEO s story seemed to constantly be changing. The board exists as a watchdog to the executive management yet nothing was done to hold the CEO accountable to the truth. Meanwhile, Goodwin ignored warnings of the worsening crisis while at the same time failing to conduct a due diligence assessment of ABN s assets and in October 2007 the consortium secured the takeover for €71bn18,19. The deal was unanimously approved by the RBS board and the payment made in cash from the bank s reserves. This led to a fatal mismatch of the long term assets and short term liabilities. By December it had become apparent that ABN was heavily entrenched in exposure to subprime loans and RBS lost over ВЈ1.5bn20. Despite repeated denials that RBS would not have to resort to inorganic capital growth, Goodwin confirmed they would sell ВЈ12bn in new shares a couple months later21. Faith rapidly evaporated, the market was thrown into chaos and share prices ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Ethnicity and Exclusion through Space Chapter two Methodology The first point of call was to have a clear and sharp understanding of the dissertation topic and this was done through the use of online research as there is a vast amount of information that can be collected in relation to integrating communities. This was then followed by the key significance to the main objective which is gathering data. To help with the findings and analysis, the research has to be focused more on areas where communities benefit through people of different backgrounds living together and sharing basic commodities, these could be sharing a kitchen, communal gardens, open spaces and even a bench in the public park.2 As there are quite a number of diverse people in the community, a lot of information was collected from them through one on one discussion. Although the information collected was not very satisfactory, care had to be taken as to select what to use. This was also the issue with selecting case studies which deals specifically with sociable housing which in these communities is widely known as co housing. The evidence collected from sources had to be carefully selected and used accordingly. A model was then developed to assess how people of different background can be incorporated through various substances. This was then implemented within separate case studies and the results explored and analysed. The model was then tried on another project to see if it works. The method of research used in this thesis is by use ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Health Of A Health Care System A health care system is a framework of interrelated, interacting, and interdependent descriptions of human development in a given country, region, or community. This system of human development functions as an organized measure to promote and provide treatment in which individuals reach their highest attainable level of physical, mental, and social well being. All health care systems are grounded in the concept that genetic and biological factors must be taken into account to understand the problems and behaviors of a specific population. The interconnected factors that determine an individual s health status includes personal features, social status, culture, environment, educational attainment, health behaviors, childhood development, access to care, and government policy. International collaboration of ideas on the progression of transnational health is greatly endorsed for the benefit of complete global health care. Health care has social, governmental, and financial implications that affect all members of the health care system and in countries within the Central American region specially, citizens have fallen victim to health disparities that have resulted from long term neglect of the underlying factors that perpetuate this issue. It is imperative for children to develop with healthy nutrition during their first five years of life in order to sustain a healthy well being. Although cholera vaccines can provide some protection against illness, the protective efficacy conferred by current vaccines are not equivalent to natural infection of Vibrio cholerae (1,2). To combat cholera infection, the WHO has proposed a global initiative to reduce cholera deaths by 90 percent by 2030. In this call to action, the WHO designates the improvement and distribution of oral cholera vaccines as essential to success (3). Many of the antibodies characterized were specific to the o antigen, part of the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in the outer membrane of V. cholerae (4). After reviewing this study, we selected the IgG P1 A2 monoclonal antibody, specific to the o antigen, as an appropriate vector to standardize the vibriocidal through standard killing of V. cholerae in a vibriocidal assay. IgG P1 A2 was chosen due to its low EC50 (ng/mL) concentration relative to the other monoclonal antibodies (Fig. 1A B). By using a standard concentration of monoclonal antibody run alongside serum in a vibriocidal assay, cross lab differences in serum titer can be adjusted for by relative differences in IgG P1 A2 antibody concentrations at the fifty percent growth inhibition point of the bacteria. Investigating Cross Lab Variation: To investigate this hypothesis, data had to be generated to employ the standardization method. In collaboration with investigators at the University of Utah and the icddr,b (International Center for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh), the serum of 45 and 30 cholera patients from Haiti and South Sudan were analyzed by vibriocidal against the V. cholerae strains PIC018 Inaba and PIC018 Ogawa with a serially diluted monoclonal antibody standard. • 10. Shakespeare s Theory Of Sir Francis Bacon Vs. William... There are a variety of theories that suggest that Sir Francis Bacon was, in fact, William Shakespeare. Supporters of these claims refer to Shakespeare s writing style, lack of education, and reportedly hidden messages within his texts as some of the evidence that indicates that Bacon was the real author of the many plays and poems attributed to Shakespeare. These assertions do not conclusively substantiate the Bacon theory and only attempt to discredit the real William Shakespeare. Therefore, Sir Francis Bacon did not write as William Shakespeare. That rare achievement is perhaps something which irks King the most. (Hodge). While Kubrick s version of the film is still great, to say that the film surpasses the book is a far fetched claim. As the popular thought goes, the book is always better than the film. Coming from a huge Stephen King fan, it is easy to understand his disdain towards the film. • 15. A Rose For Emily Grierson Symbolism The symbolism of Emily Grierson in A Rose for Emily William Faulkner s short story, A Rose for Emily, is a textbook example of the Southern Gothic genre. Set in the deep south in the late 1800s, it is an examination of the Old South s unwillingness to change after losing the Civil War. The main character Emily Grierson is faced with several hardships that are shown throughout the story. In this paper, I will argue that Emily symbolizes the South s inability to progress after losing the civil war. Grierson, a relic of the white aristocracy, resists every step toward progress the town makes. A shut in, Emily is the epitome of the Southern oddity, as she performs peculiar rituals behind closed doors. The town is left to wonder about her; As Faulkner states, upon her death, people went to see the inside of her house, which no one save a manservant had seen in the last ten years (Faulkner 391). First to master the technical parts of recording including echo, double tracking and overdubbing (he recorded his own voice and guitar playing). First to add classical stringed instruments in rock music. While the early volumes of the telegrams were attempts by the Kaiser to (stir) up the Czar s monarchical instinct against the French Republic and to appear congenial, the final telegrams between the Kaiser and the Tsar were cautious warnings against mobilising and the threat of war. The telegrams between Wilhelm and Nicolas are directly weaved into the events of the July Crisis and the eve of World War 1. According to the Oxford dictionary, this French term means literally allow to do , however, in nineteenth century Britain, this word was used to define a new policy of non intervention in free market affairs by governments, in order to allow things to follow their own course without any external help, as suggested from some of the most famous economists of the era, as Adam Smith, his followers Thomas Robert Malthus and David Ricardo, or Samuel Smiles. These economists believed in a hands off approach of self help, as it can be seen from their written works. For example, Samuel Smiles (1859) wrote: Even the best institutions can give a man no active help. Perhaps, most they can do is, to leave him free to develop himself and improve his individual condition. Basically, they strongly believed in the idea of the self made man , capable of becoming successful by his own efforts. Anyhow, this belief that the interest of an individual would have led, in the end, to benefits for both the economy and the society, as highlighted by Smith (1776), strongly disagreed with the living conditions of the nineteenth century British society s situation. In fact, even though this century brought various improvements to the world, with a period of huge innovation known as Industrialisation , there was a huge gap between social classes, given that any change was made available for poor people, that ... • 28. Theme Of Water In Rime Of The Ancient Mariner Written Task 2 The Symbol of Water within Samuel Coleridge s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner Romantic literature writers commonly input elements of nature within their writing to express their opinions. Samuel Taylor Coleridge includes the most abundant form of nature, water, within The Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Water, in its various forms, symbolizes the power and force of nature in both the natural and spiritual world. Water in the form of ice represents imprisonment and the harsh acts that nature imposes as a punishment. The Mariner the main character of the ballad says that the ice was all between. / The ice was here, the ice was there, / the ice was all around , essentially imprisoning him within it (58 60). While surrounded on the ship, there is water, water, everywhere. / Nor any drop to drink for the mariner and his crew because the ocean is all made of salt water (121 122). Nature torments the crew by not letting them have any fresh water as punishment for their actions, and the irony of the drought is how there is water everywhere but they still are in a drought, constantly being teased by nature; also, in attempts to describe the degree of irony, water is repeated twice highlighting the access of water that is unavailable. The water is also described as like a witch s oils which Burnt green, and blue, and white (129 130). Water is compared by a simile to witch s oils , equating the necessary resource of water to other evil related liquids; this in turn de values the water that they need to live, and continues the entrapment of the crew as punishment. Nearing the end of the passage, water still rumbled on, / Still louder and more dread in a never ending torment of water and imprisonment (547 548). Water continuously represents the harsh punishments of nature, specifically eliciting fear in the Mariner as words such as dread and rumbled impose fear and stun the Mariner, during the falling action of the ballad. Nature barrages the Mariner with punishment using irony and imprisonment through the element of water excessively. Samuel Taylor Coleridge s writing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

MAGMA CONTAMINATION AND SULFIDE IMMISCIBILITY OF THE METEORIC IMPACT ZONE IN THE SUDBURY NI CU DEPOSITS: ONTARIO, CANADA WILLIAMS, Jane B. (University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, willijan@uwec.edu) Sudbury, Canada is the location of a world class Ni Cu deposit phenomena. Numerous studies have produced an explanation for the complex evolution of its deposition and enrichment thanks to the impaction of a meteorite 1.85 million years ago. The impact of the meteorite is thought to have caused fracturing that led to the generation of magma from deep in the crust that helped in later filling the crater and producing the igneous complex (Faggart et. al., 1985). The igneous complex (Figure 1a) has an elongated shape (60 km long and 27 km wide) with circular deposits surrounding it similar to a bulls eye. Evidence of the meteoric impact includes brecciation located in the center of the basin (Onaping Formation), deformation of the margin of the intrusive complex (Huronian Group), shatter cones, and pseudotachylite. The meteor is thought to have flash melted the crust which proceeded to differentiate into a granophyre and a leuconorite to norite composition. The granophyre makes up 60% of the complex and the leuconorite and norite make up the remaining 40% (Figure 1b)(Barnes et. al., 2005). About 50% of the ore is found in the sublayer norite and the breccia that is associated with the norite. This ore is mainly disseminated sulphides. The massive sulphides are located in the center ... • 31. Change Of Identity In I Am Not Esther By Fleur Beale The novel, I am not Esther, written by Fleur Beale follows Kirby Greenland, a fourteen year old girl, who is suddenly abandoned by her mother. Kirby is then forced to live with family members she has never met before in an unfamiliar, religious community with strict rules and regulations. During her time in the community, also considered as a cult , Kirby faced the challenges of identity change and loss as well as abandonment and isolation. This helped me develop a deep understandingof Kirby and how she undergoes a large character development throughout the text. Firstly, I gained an understanding of Kirby and her character development through how she dealt with her loss and change of identity. When Kirby first entered the community, she is stripped of her belongings and even her name they give her a new biblical name of Esther . This made Kirby feel outraged and like her identity had just been attacked. Kirby faces this challenge by reproaching the change instantly. I know this because she says I m Kirby, not Esther for God s sake. This showed me that Kirby is sure of her identity and would disobey the community to act in a way which is true to herself. However, after spending so much time with unfamiliar people and in an unfamiliar environment, Kirby questions whether she is Kirby or Esther, seeing her two self consciousness as two separate beings. Kirby is asked by Mrs Fletcher, the guidance counsellor whom she enlisted help from, what she wished to be called. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It seems as if you don t have to look very far to see both the importance and impact that teams have on almost every aspect of life as we know it. Those who learn how to properly harness the power of teamwork understand how it can create an incredible opportunity and potential for progress and accomplishment. Teams that find the ability to work together with a sense of unity and common vision seem to produce at high levels of effectiveness. Teamwork also, however, can create environments where conflict and challenge can easily arise and hinder the ability to work together with effectiveness. Patrick Lencioni states, As difficult as it is to build a cohesive team, it is not complicated. As simple as it may be, for many leaders the ability to build, develop and properly utilize teams is a challenge. For church ministry leaders, the ability to build and develop teams and manage conflict are vital skill sets that must be invested in to understand and develop. The soldier s perspectives on the length of the war were influenced by the motivation to protect their way of life. In describing the sentiments of Union and Confederate soldiers we can use some examples that are in letters sent home by the soldiers. One Kentucky confederate wrote, I choose to fight for southern rights and southern liberty against the vandals of the North who were determined to destroy slavery [vi]. Another opinion by a Wisconsin Union soldier states his reasons for fighting in the war, I have no heart in this war if the slaves cannot go free [vii]Both the North and the South believed to be fighting to preserve the society that was prevalent in the respective regions of the United States. The South was trying to protect the institution of slavery and their society. The North, at the start of the war, only had the intention to overcome the succession, but they later realized that it could only do this by destroying slavery[viii]. When it became apparent to the soldiers on the battlefield that the war would not end quickly, the tone of enthusiasm changed. An example of the change in attitude can be obtained from the following passage that was written by the Union soldier Jno R. McClure to his sister in 1862 I will tell you what I think and that is the north will never whip the south as long as there is a man left in the south. They fight like wild devles. • 39. Lines Written a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey by William... William Wordsworth was a very wise man. He was born into a lot of wealth. In his time, the wealthy people could afford not to work. Some of them would just travel. They would walk from town to town, paying for whatever they needed to survive. Wordsworth was one of those people. He would take trips that lasted years. After one of these very long journeys, he came back home, and sat on a hillside a few miles above Tintern Abbey, an old, ruined cathedral. It truly was a long journey. Five years have past, he says. Five years is a long timeto be away from home. As he sat there, above the cathedral, he thought a lot about what it was like to come back home. In his poem, Lines Written a few Miles Above Tintern Abbey, William Wordsworth says a lot about the progression of individual life, and the steady, circular repetitiveness of life as a whole. First, Wordsworth writes about the past. Much of the poem is a reflection of his earlier days. He feels quite nostalgic toward his childhood. He misses the simplicity and the naivety of when he was a young boy. Although he thinks that he enjoyed his past, he can t quite remember that far back. Wordsworth says, with gleams of half extinguished thought. With many recognitions dim and faint... The past was definitely an important part of who he is, but he can t remember exactly what happened way back then. Next, Wordsworth talks about his presentfeelings. Both genders seem to be strong animals. They are considered a bipedal animal since they have two feet and each foot has five toes (Nickell). It is said that they smell horrible. The following excerpt describes the skunk ape s particular smell, ...distinguished as smelly, ... rancid, putrid odor, like that of rotten food and dead animal ... having the usual scent of cabbage and rotten eggs (Nickell). • 41. Mystical Experiences The four main characteristics of a mystical experience include ineffability, transiency, passivity, and being of a noetic quality. Regarding ineffability, a mystical experience is often described as states of feeling and something so new, unknown, and beyond comprehension that language cannot fully explain it, and shouldn t. The experience is other worldly and outside of the realm of existence we reside, therefore rendering its nature indescribable. It must be experienced not explained. Many experiences are often in noetic quality where states of knowledge and insight into depths of truth unplumbed by the discursive intellect are experienced. The inherent act of one realizing and understanding new information, feelings, and truths is by definition intellectual and therefore illustrates proof that conceptual reasoning was implemented. Mystical experiences are often transient and last for a short period of time. It comes and goes like most good things. Mystical experiences often come with a sense of passivity were the experiencer is overcome by the Other, something significantly more powerful that can temporarily suspend their self determination and will.
