The Cycles of International Conflict
Wars have been waged for decades creating the world we live in today. Charles Tilly observed,
the state made war and war made the state (qtd in Sernau, 2009, 147). However, these battles have
been destructive and bloody resulting in the deaths of countless individuals. These grave
consequences lead us to ask the ever problematic question, what could possibly motivate a state to
engage in warfare? Fundamentally, some believe waris linked to a conflict of political and economic
interests rooted in power struggles ranging from territorial and humanitarian to ideological and
ethnic while others argue that war has become ingrained in our societies and economies resulting in
this tenacious cycle of confrontation. Territories are the bases... Show more content on

Some of these countries include Korea, Vietnam and Cuba (Kent, 2006). An additional factor of
international conflict has to deal with ethnic and cultural disputes. Goldstein and Pevehouse believe
it is the most one of the most important sources of conflicts in today s world (Goldstein and
Pevehouse, 2009, 127). Samuel Huntington is a firm believer that international conflict is
becoming closely linked to ethnicity which he outlines in his clash of civilizations theory.
Huntington divides the world into eight major civilization outlined as Western, Confucian,
Japanese, Islamic, Hindu, Slavic Orthodox, Latin American and African (Huntington, 1993). He
then goes on to add that As people define their identity in ethnic and religious terms, they are likely
to see an us versus them relation existing between themselves and people of different ethnicity or
religion which leads to the clashes of civilizations (Huntington, 1993).
A big factor in ethnic conflict is often territorial and linked to self determination. As Goldstein and
Pevehouse point out, ethnic groups have strong aspirations and nationalist sentiments for statehood
(Goldstein and Pevehouse, 2009, 127). The Kurds are a relevant and current example of an ethnic
group seeking to establish a homeland, Kurdistan. However, they are

Diagnosis of an Infected Patient Essay
Diagnosis of an Infected Patient
Infection is the invasion and growth of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites that
are not normally present within the body. A prokaryotic cell is a simple cell that does not have a
nucleus. One of the most common types of prokaryotic cells is a bacterium. Bacteria are
differentiated by many factors including shape, chemical composition, nutritional requirements,
biochemical activities, and sources of energy (Tortora 76). A patient with an infection in the upper
respiratory system will need to have a sputum sample sent to the lab for further evaluation to
determine the cause in order to accurately treat the infection. While many microorganisms can be

Spores can be stained using specific dyes, such as malachite green, that are absorbed by spores in
the presence of heat (Noonan).
Escherichia is a genus of aerobic gram negative rod shaped bacteria of the family
Enterobacteriaceae that form acid and gas on many carbohydrates, such as dextrose and lactose,
but not acetone, which include occasional pathogenic forms, including some strains of E. coli
which are normally present in the human intestine as well as other forms which typically occur
in soil and water (Webster). Escherichia coli is a gram negative bacilli that rarely varies in shape
and size and when stained often resemble safety pins because the ends of some bacilli stain more
densely than does the middle; which is a characteristic called bipolar staining which is common in
enteric gram negative bacilli (ASM). Gram negative cells have a thin cell wall layer and will stain
red to pink. The staining process is the same as Gram positive, requiring four steps: applying a
primary stain, adding a mordant, then rapid decolorization and completing with a counter stain.
Applying the alcohol for decolorization dissolves the outer membrane and leaves small holes in the
thin peptidoglycan layer through which the crystal violet iodine diffuse. The gram negative bacteria
is colorless after the decolorization; therefore adding safranin

The Second Shepherd Analysis
The Second Shepherd s Play is a Wakefield cycle play written during the 15th century. The play is
set in Bethlehem and is based on the birth of Jesus Christ told from the perspective of the
shepherds attending their flock. During the Middle Ages, cycle plays were popular because they
allowed the plays to be performed from town to town. This was important because people could
not read and Bibles were so expensive. Cycle plays allowed Christians to learn about key elements
pertaining to JesusChrist and other Christian figures. The Second Shepherd s Play is a unique
play in that it combines farcical elements and serious lessons. In the play, there are five main
characters: Coll, Gib, Daw, Mak, and Gill. Mak, Daw, Gib, and Coll are shepherds and, at the
beginning of the play, are all watching their sheep at night in the cold weather. The first part of
the play consists of 190 lines where the shepherds are all complaining about something in their
lives. Coll is complaining about the cold weather which is relatable to the audience during this
time because they often faced harsh weather when attending their flock. Gib is seen complaining
about his wife and his marriage. As he continues to complain about his wife, he also begins to
warn the audience, especially the young men, to stay away from marriage. Both shepherds began
to complain about Daw because they feel he is too lazy and playful. However, they contribute it to
his age. Daw walks in complaining that he is hungry and

Action Plan for Reporting Waste and Abuse in the Air Force
In fiscal year 2014 it is very clear that there needs to be a better reporting of all of the materials
that are owned and are held by the Air Force. It is important to make sure that there is a complete
accounting of all of the materials such as parts, ammunition, and other items that belong to the air
force so that it will be possible to ensure that in any location there is no issue that the materials will
be in the hands of anyone else. The allocation is supposed to serve through departmental roles, with
the chiefs of each department consenting to any requested sub budgetary allocation requested by
the service men and women in their departments. The offices include the operations office, the
general counsel s office, the information and communication office and the human resource office.
All actions that will be recommended for this case might not show specific dates, since the military
requires a series of approval steps for any implementation, and delays might occur. In addition, the
air force is sometimes caught up in emergency situation that lead to freezing operations for security
purposes. It also leads to delays and rechanneling of allocated budgets to the emergency situation.
The 2014 budget is used in this paper, since it has already been implemented, therefore researchable.

Edith Cavell was a British nurse who worked at a hospital in Belgium. In the summer of 1914,
Edith Cavell, head matron of the Berkendael Medical Institute, was on a holiday visiting her
family in England when news came of the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand in far Sarajevo.
Edith s family urged her to stay in England, but she believed duty demanded that she return to the
hospital in Brussels. When she said good bye she did not know that she would never see her
family again. Soon after the Germans invaded Belgium, the hospital where Edith worked became
a Red Cross hospital and she cared for wounded Belgian, German, French and British soldiers.

How Planetary Differentiation Affected The Layers Of The...
Have you ever wondered what the inside of the earth looks like? How it functions? How it was
formed? Unit 2 has been all about the interior Earth. We learned many things like how planetary
differentiation affected the layers of the earth. How people use seismic data to find the depth of the
layers. And what convection currents from inside the earth, create. We learned about the interior
Earth for Unit 2.
Planetary differentiation happened when the Earth first formed. The formation of this planet
generated heat from gravitational energy and the decay of radioactive elements. Scientists think that
earth may have become so hot that it melted. Denser materials sank toward the center, forming
Earths dense, iron core. Less dense material hardened over time to form Earth s outer layers the
crust and mantle. Planetary differentiation created the layers of the Earth. ... Show more content on

We learned that in 4th grade. We went more in depth with that this year. There are two types of
Crust; oceanic and continental. Oceanic is thinner and is mostly made of out basalt. Continental
crust is mostly made out of granite. This layer drifts slowly and is solid. The Earth has sub
layers. The lithosphere is part of the crust and uppermost Mantle. Next down is the
Asthenosphere, where all the tectonic plates are. Then the lowest part of the Mantle is called the
Mesosphere. The Mantle is semi solid and has convection currents that move the tectonic plates. It
contains more iron than the layer above. The outer core has convection currents that create the
magnetic field. It s the swirly hot iron that really causes it. This is the only layer that is liquid.
The inner core is solid because of the great pressure on it. It is extremely hot. The deeper you go
the hotter it gets and iron increases. Two out of the four main layers have convection

Social Class in Jane Austen
Throughout this essay , I will be looking at the theme of social class in Jane Austen s work ;
critically analysed by Juliet McMaster, a chapter taken from The Cambridge Companion to Jane
Austen , edited by Edward Copeland and Juliet McMaster. Jane Austen s novels at first glance tell
a story of romance, set within the landowning society amidst country estates, and their cultivation
of tea parties, social outings, and extravagant balls; ladies frolicking in flowing gowns through
decorated rooms, and men deliberating over their game of whist. The storybook romance usually
unfolds in these familiar settings, and inevitably involves the conflict of two lovers separated by
differences in social class, and the resulting influence of the... Show more content on

This system unfairly gives privilege to one family member by giving him /her everything, for
the preservation of the family name and the estate throughout the generations. Hence the five
Longbourn girls are to be turned out upon their father s death, since the estate is entailed to Mr.
Collins. Charles Bingley is the most we witness of social mobility. He is a gentleman who lives
a lavish life, and whose money was acquired by trade . He walks in his father s footsteps, and
once married to Jane, he does buy an estate. This means that the next generation will be a step
upwards in their social ladder. His sisters on the other hand are status and power hungry and are
proud and conceited . Darcy, rebutes, very realistically that the Bennet sisters connection with
trade, will prove to be an obstacle to their happiness and will lessen their chance of marrying men
of prestige. The quality of humans is judged by moral and humane standards. Charlotte Lucas
chooses to marry the pompous Mr. Collins, not for love but it is simply a marriage of convenience,
in which she is the one finding it convenient. Through this Jane Austen presents the bleak and futile
existence of women, as well as the happier outcome, of the heroine who finds fulfillment in
marrying the man she loves. The servants in Jane Austen s novels represent the poor working class.
The poor are seldom mentioned, except through Lady Catherine s scolding of degradation. Human
worth should

Themes InThe Rememberer And Jealous Husband Return In Form...
Many stories have similar themes, The Rememberer by Aimee Bender and Jealous Husband
Returns in Form of Parrot by Robert Olen Butler are two short stories that do. In The Rememberer,
Ben is going through reverse evolution and Annie and Ben both do not know why. It is implied that
Ben remembers Annie, but not completely specified. In Jealous HusbandReturns in Form of Parrot,
the husband falls out of a tree trying to catch his wifein the act of cheating and gets reincarnated into
a parrot. He remembers her, but she does not know it is him and ends up choosing and purchasing
him from the pet store, putting him back into his own home. Both stories have ironic tendencies
and share a similar theme, but have different meanings. Throughout both stories, the characters
are facing internal conflicts. In The Rememberer, Annie is dealing with Ben going through
reverse evolution. She does not know why he is going through it or what to do about it, which
results in her battling herself in her own mind. She cannot tell anyone what is going on because
nobody would believe her, she is stuck telling people that he has a strange sickness and is forced
to keep it all inside. In Jealous Husband Returns in Form of Parrot, the husband is dealing with the
internal conflict of being purchased by his wife and brought back into his home where now he is
stuck seeing his wife with other men. The conflict comes in to play with the husband because he
does not have the vocabulary as a parrot to tell her that it is him. Throughout the two stories, the
men are both, somehow, turned into animals.
They both may have turned into animals, in one way or another, but those ways are different. In
The Rememberer, Ben first turns into an ape, but then turns into a sea turtle, just to turn into a
salamander. Whereas, in Jealous Husband Returns in Form of Parrot, the only animal he is turned
into is a parrot. Another difference between the two circumstances is, Ben is going through reverse
evolution, so he is turning into many different animals, and the husband went through reincarnation
after he fell out of the tree, so he will not change forms. Although, in The Rememberer, both Annie
and Ben know that he is still

Summary of Canadian Confederation Essay
During the years before Confederation, there was much happening in the colonies that would
eventually unite to become the Dominion of Canada in 1867. The Fathers of Confederation were
the architects of the plan that resulted in the proposal that would bring the individual British
American colonies together under a Federalist system. There were three main conferences which
were held and to be included as a Father of Confederation. These conferences were The
Charlottetown Conference 1864, The Quebec Conference 1864, and The London Conference 1866.
The Fathers of Confederation for the most part were leading politicians from the British Colonies
interested in forming a Federal Union or a Confederation. Although not all colonies joined ... Show

This was of a British North America that stretched from Atlantic to Pacific, from the U.S. boarder to
the Arctic hinterland. Britain not only rules the Colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick,
Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Vancouver Island, and British Columbia, but it also asserted
it s authority over all of the lands in the interior that were administered by the Hudson Bay
Company. An evolutionary process which could bring all of these lands together under one Federal
Government would create a country larger than the United States and with the best chances to stand
up to U.S., Spanish and Russian encroachment upon British North America.
Political union was viewed as a solution to many problems and ultimately a larger politic union
was with the Canada s and other colonies by Great Britain. The Governor of New Brunswick,
Francis Bond, lead the charge when he campaigned for a Maritime Union between New
Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and possibly Newfoundland. In 1863/64. The idea
was pursued and the colonial legislatures agreed to gather in Charlottetown on Prince Edward
Island on September 1st, 1864 to discuss Maritime union.
When news of this meeting became known in the Canada s, John A Macdonald decided to lead a
contingent of coalition government and opposition members to Charlottetown to propose a larger
union of the colonies. They campaigned for an invitation to the

The Ones Who Walk Away From House Of By Ursula Le Guin
Alienation, starvation, neglect and abuse are all words that invoke unfavorable connotations and
are treatments that no person would ever want to be subjected to. Living in those conditions is
something that most people choose not to think about let alone witness with their own eyes. By not
seeing it, they find it easier to pretend it doesn t exist. In the short storyThe Ones Who Walk Away
from Omelas, Ursula Le Guin writes about a city that from the outside looks like the perfect
utopian society a rich culture that is full of laughter, joy and peace, devoid of any violence,
poverty or social inequities. Beneath the surface though hides a very dark secret that bares the true
nature of Omelas. The citizens of this ostensibly flawless... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This makes it that much more crushing to learn the ugly truth about the source of its tranquility
and bliss. Le Guin cannot or will not elaborate on any of the details about Omelas happiness but,
she has no issue describing its horrors in detail from the mops with stiff, clotted, foul smelling
heads (Le Guin 866) to the eh haa, eh haa (Le Guin 866) noise that the captive child hidden
beneath the city makes at night. She does not allow any wiggle room for the reader, who was
responsible for creating Omelas, to imagine anything that might mitigate or rationalize the child s
misery. The author points out that one thing that the people of Omelas do not have is guilt, but
behind this seemingly flawless city s outward appearance, the community knowingly and
willingly inflicts horrible suffering on an innocent child out of their own selfishness to ensure
that they can live free of any pain or misery. Perhaps the people of Omelas are without a
conscience. Regardless of the fact that she does not exactly condemn the purposeful disregard for
the life of the child that the people of Omelas have, the way Le Guin depicts the child and the
language she uses signifies that she sees its suffering as something that is not only wrong, but
almost evil. Le Guin s writing style is akin to the way an artist would paint a picture. She

Argumentative Essay On Teenage Pregnancy
Teenage Burden The United States has the highest percentage of teenage pregnancies compared to
any other developed country; statistics state that 1 million teenagers become pregnant each year.
Teenage pregnancy has retransformed over the past decades, since pregnancy before marriage was
considered a taboo but over the past decades it has become a norm. Although teenage pregnancies
are widely accepted throughout in the United States there has been an increase in consequences. An
abortionmeans to terminate an embryo or fetus before it is adequately developed to survive. A
controversy has a rise as to whether they should be among teenagers capable to make the choice to
end and unwanted pregnancyor whether parental consent should be required to end an abortion
without their parental consent. Teenage abortion should strictly rely on parental consent because
teenagers becoming parents is a life changing decision, laws should become stricter across the
board, and change in the American culture would decrease abortions. Pregnancy before marriage
in the 18th century was considered a disgrace and burden for many women. The ideology during
this era was based on religious beliefs and having sex before marriage was a virtue; birth control
was not widely accepted or considered a safe way to prevent pregnancy. Women would perform
unsafe abortions that would put their health at risk since it was performed with home remedies.
Abortion in the early 1800s was considered a

Slavery And The Removal Of The Indians
Without slavery and a proper way to control native americans living on american land then there
can be no stable economy. America is based upon land and what can be gained from it. Slaves
work the land and indians run amuck on the land. So to justify both slavery and the removal of the
indians: Slavery is the basis of the revenue from the south, and to abolish slaverywill lead to a
destabilization of the economy and destroy the freedoms that are trying to be achieved. Native
Americans are uncontrollable and dangerous without proper enforcement from the american
government. Frederick Douglas lived his life in slavery and witnessed the cruelty of a slave s life.

Western europe needs America for trade. A Lot of the food that is used by the europeans is grown
by the south. And so without Slavery Western europe will starve. (Fitzhugh, Canibals, 3)
Now it might be said that it would be easier and more humane to free the slaves and pay them.
But the answer for that is simple. Slaves are seen as Capital there is no need say in an economic
downturn to get rid of slaves as there would be for paid workmen. To turn out a slave is to lose
money. (Fitzhugh, Sociology, 1) Then there is the fact that a lot of Americans lower class white
men are in poverty. They do not have enough food, enough clothing, or enough shelter. The
condition of these people is worse than the slaves. Slaves are brought from the wild confines of
Africa to live in comfort in America. (Fitzhugh, Sociology, 2) Slaves are hard workers, the are
better at working in the climate of the south than those europeans that try and work the land.
Sure it would be better to free them and pay them if we were in a place like england which has
little land and lots of people. But in America it is opposite, there is tons of land and little people.
If slaves are free what is to stop them from going and finding their own land? If that happens it
will destroy the economy. It is better to have 1 plantation with 100 workers rather than have 100
plantations with 1 worker. The latter example will gain less income and the economy will fail

The First Creation Myth Is The Hindu Version Of Creation
The first creation myth is the Hindu version of creation, and it is about the sacrifice of the Man
(Purusha), the man with a thousand heads, eyes, and feet. The Man himself is all this, whatever
has been and whatever is to be and he is the creator and the one creation comes from. He is
sacrificed by the gods and his body makes up the earth. The Man s mouth was the brahmin, his
arms were made into the nobles, his two thighs were the populace, and from his feet the servants
were born. The moon was born from his mind; the sun was born from his eye. After, his mouth
came Indra (4) and Agni, and from his vital breath the wind (Vyu) was born. Then his navel the
atmosphere was born; from his head the heavenemerged. From his two feet came the earth, and the
expanses of the sky from his ear.
The second creation story is the story from the Bible, which is Christians version of creation. On
the first day God (the creator) created light, the second day God created waters, the atmospheric
water and the oceanic water. On the third day God created dry land and vegetation, and on the
forth day he created the sun and the moon and the stars and planets. On the fifth day God created
water creatures and birds, and on the sixth day he created land animals and man. God creates all
this out of nothing and it takes him six days. He creates all this for the man to rule over and to
multiply and for men to in turn praise him.
The third creation myth is from the Huainanzi and it tells of the great

Why Terrorist Groups Use Cbrre Weapons
The question on whether or not terrorist groups are likely to use CBRN weapons in the United
States or anywhere else in the world remains an unconfirmed debate of opinions. Sinai s (2007)
article ,explaining certain characteristics about the terrorists threat, states that illicit supply
networks exists in countries that promote proliferation of these types of weapons and reported the
occurrence where Usama Bin Laden tried to acquire a cylinder of weapons grade uranium (Sinai
2007, para 24). This inherently proves that groups such as al Qaeda possess at least the interest of
acquiring these weapons but still remains unconfirmed about whether they intend to use them. This
is also a statement that suggests that certain nations have more lenient or even complacent policies
towards controlling these types of weapons.
Mauroni s (2010) states in it that insurgents seek to use easily acquired, low risk weapon systems,
something that he claims is not suited for CBRN weapons. He claims that the reason why they are
so interested in these types of weapons is that senior leaders across the globe are constantly going

actions will be that of a knockout punch nature. They know they cannot win in force, only

The Village, by M. Night Shyamalen Essay
Matthew Lesko once said, A degree of lying seems to be inherent in all languages and all forms of
communication. Quite often lies are integrated into society in order to manipulate the minds of the
receiver(s) and ultimately shape the community in a particular way. The Village a 2004 by M.
Night Shyamalen is indicative of this fact. A culture (even one based on fear) can flourish through
use of ritual communication. First off to fully grasp the significance of ritual communication behind
the movie, The Villageone must first understand what exactly it is. Ritual communication is
defined as, A symbolic process whereby reality is produced, maintained, repaired, and transformed.

Since the dawning of Covington Woods creation, stories were told of terrifying creatures that
lived in the forests. Beasts that were attracted to the color red and repelled by yellow and so
traditions began of avoiding red even to the point of burying crimson flowers that blossomed.
Stakes with yellow flags marked the perimeter of the village and those who kept watch wore
cloaks of yellow. Overall the affect was very convincing and the villagers fear of these beasts
kept them content with their way of life, overall maintaining it. But as is the way of life there
was bound to be a hitch that if not repair could ultimately lead to the town s demise. Lucius Hunt
was a man that had no fear of these beasts that kept the society running. His lack of fear even led
him to ask permission to leave the village to retrieve medicines that would improve the life of the
townsfolk. Unsurprisingly the Elders were stirred; Lucius open mind and lack of fear for his
own safety could prove dangerous to the conservation of their world. With the best of intentions
they struck even more terror into the villagers hearts. Finally Lucius breaks but not because he
fears for his own safety but for the welfare of his beloved Ivy Walker. Unbeknownst to him, his
bravery has given courage to Ivy and when Lucius falls close to death it is Ivy who seeks help to

and hunters of the Great West. Jedediah Strong Smith was a was a clerk, frontiersman, hunter,
trapper, author, cartographer, and explorer. Known for his great contributions for travel, he and
his fellow trappers were the forerunners of advancing civilization in the West. They explored the
regions west of the Mississippi, from the confines of the Arctic ocean in the North to the borders
of Mexico in the South. All without government protection, they traversed through perilous
mountain ranges filled with savage foes. Canoed over uncharted waters, and only narrowly
escaped. Jedediah s adventures were often never recorded, and credit was given to those men
years after the trail was discovered. Jedediah is the real mountain man we all owe credit to.... Show

Hidden Truths in The Possibility of Evil” by Shirley...
Underneath a good moral, there could be a hidden truth. In, The Possibility of Evil , Shirley Jackson
shows how the protagonist, Miss Strangeworth presumes she is protecting her neighborhood by
eliminating the evil that exists within her community, but ironically, she is the most evil neighbor
of all. In the beginning, the communityconsiders Miss Strangeworth an old, caring and respected
woman. Throughout the story, a handful of community members realize Miss Strangeworth is a
bitter, insensitive woman, who is creating more evil in the neighborhood. In other words, Miss
Strangeworth s intentions to rid her neighborhood of evil, ultimately has the opposite effect and

can look up to.
Throughout the story, some community members realize Miss Strangeworth is a bitter and
insensitive old woman, whose intentions to rid of evil backfire and end up creating more
trouble for her. Firstly, Miss Strangeworth writes insensitive and harsh letters to community
members, writing letters to her neighbors with her unwanted opinions. Miss Strangeworth writes
a letter to the same young couple that asks for her guidance, DIDN T YOU EVER SEE AN
IDIOT CHILD BEFORE? SOME PEOPLE JUST SHOULDN T HAVE CHILDREN, SHOULD

child. She feels like she is giving them the right advice to raise a child and rid evil from her
community, but her harsh words are hurting her neighbors and creating more trouble for them.
Secondly, Miss Strangeworth feels like she is ridding her town of evil and is the only saviour
for the community. Miss Strangeworth thinks it s her duty to keep her town alert...there were so
many wicked people in the world (3). Miss Strangeworth thinks of herself as the only one
attempting to prevent evil as there is too much evil in the world now days. She feels as if she is

Advantages Of Simulation In Healthcare Systems
Simulation has been used to analyze many issues in the healthcare sector for over 40 years [1].
Such issues that have been addressed by simulation include, but not limited to; improving patients
workflows and throughput time, reducing waiting times, resources allocation and optimization,
staff scheduling and development of decision support systems (DSS). Discrete Event Simulation
(DES), Agent Based Simulation (ABS) and System Dynamics are the main simulation methods that
have been used for healthcare systems modelling and analysis [2]. Although each of these methods
has its own capabilities, they exhibit some limitations [3]. Table 1 summaries some of the
capabilities and limitations of DES and ABS methods in healthcare applications.
Recently, several hybrid/integrated simulation models have been introduced. In such approach,
multiple simulation methods are combined in one model. This combination/ integration of
individual methods enables the symbiotic realization of the strengths of individual methods, while
reducing their limitations [4].
Chahal and Eldabi [5], [6] identified three different formats for the integration between DES and

modeling of the complexity of healthcare systems considering the concepts of flows and queues,

Although Lynair s current inventory management practices prove functionality over the last 20
years, there are five feasible options that will drastically improve parts accountability, and the
amount of time spent on producing requisitions and purchase orders. The findings revealed a
significant amount of time spent locating parts, and creating a requisition request for parts needed

recommendations include; utilizing current software capabilities that are currently not being used;

Once a parts order is received the stock room specialist will receive the parts list, pull the parts and
scan the amount of parts he is pulling from each bin. If the line number falls under the minimum
requirement, then an automatic purchase order for the providing vendor will be produced for
reorder to the maximum number set. The purchase order can be reviewed, and ordered as
necessary. Creating a barcode for 3,100 items will take significant time; however, after all
barcodes are established, there will be accountability of all parts in the stock room, and purchase
orders can be made automatically. This then results in a faster order fill rates due to having
sufficient inventory to complete orders; opposed to the image above, where there are at least four
orders awaiting parts due to lacking inventory. Also, the current software provides the IT specialist
the freedom to create any type of report that the Vice President of Purchasing would want for
inventory management. This recommendation provides multiple improvements; gains
accountability of all inventory, allows for purchase orders to be automatically created once the
minimum threshold is met, any type of report can be created and tracked, and there are minimum
costs associated with this option due to the existing software. Things to consider for this

Integration Of Theory And Practice Essay
Integration of Theory and Practice: My metaphor the Niuean lili will outline and demonstrate how I
integrated theory into practice, which is shown within the weaving context of the lili. The lili
consists of weaving two different components that incorporate biculturalism. The two different
components that support each other within the weaving process as to produce an art form. During
my practicum this is demonstrated with the support from my supervisor and Faleola mental health
services. An outline of how I have incorporated this while working with clients, families and the

based on these four principles that consist of learning, inspiration, leadership and integrity. The
learning aspect in relation to my practicum has been with education towards the clinical language,

Civil Litigation Detection Paper
A civil lawsuit involves an individual, business or governmental agency that is seeking relief from
another individual, business or governmental agency. They seek the reimbursement of monetary
damages or equitable relief for harm caused to an individual or group.
Parties to civil suits may choose to have their cases decided by a jury or a judge only. Most cases are
negotiated outside of the courtroom and a settlement agreement between the parties is entered.
When a person, group of people or business entity feels harmed by another usually consults with an
attorney in an effort to resolve the dispute and obtain equitable relief or money damages. The
attorney interviews witnesses and perform legal research. If there is a legitimate cause of action

For this portion of the project, my partner and I went back to the neighborhood center to observe

twice, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. Our goal for this portion of the project was
to again observe and note what the teachers and children were doing well, and to provide
suggestions to what could be improved. Compared to the first observations I noticed Jihan and one
of the aides using more self talk and parallel talk with the children. I felt that Jihan and the aides
took our suggestions to heart and tried to implement them into various situations, and not just the
example situations we provided them with. During snack time Jihan did a good job of
commentating on what a childwas doing (now you are cleaning up your area, and now you are
bringing your spoon to the bucket, and now you are going to the sink to wash your hands). In
circle time, Amaira did a good job of describing what the childwas doing (you are banging the
instruments together, he s playing the xylophone, she s playing the triangle). We tried to reinforce
their use of the strategies by smiling and nodding when they demonstrated the strategy. I wanted

The Symbolic Interactionalism Theory Of Hate Crime
Hate crimes are difficult to fathom, primarily because they involve the unprovoked physical
attacking and, sometimes, murder of people based on race and ethnicity. A more formal
definition of hate crimes is presented by Shepard (2017, p. 285). As he writes, a hate crime is a
criminal act that is motivated by extreme prejudice, This is a very good, concise and accurate
definition, nevertheless, hate crimes are not the outcome of unimaginable heights of discrimination.
Most people have prejudices and many have stereotypes regarding others, whether it be racial or
class stereotypes. Nobody is completely lacking in any form, shape or type of prejudice but, the
much greater percentage does not physically attack, beat or murder those whom they... Show more

Between 2006 to 2017, as reported by O Reilly, hate crimes targeting Muslims has increased by an
outstanding 91%. The average increase in all forms of hate crimes rose by 41% between 2016 2017
(Farivar, 2017). Hence, inarguable statistics and numbers establish a very high rate of increase in
hate crimes, most especially during 2016 2017, coinciding with the campaign and subsequent
election of Donald Trump. There are many theories of crime, with criminologists, psychologist and
sociologists, debating whether criminality is an an outcome of nature, as in genetically inherited, or
produced by nurture (Brinkerhoff, White and Ortega, 2011). Even though the debate is ongoing,
most criminologists, sociologists and psychologists agree that cases in which criminality is linked
to nature, are extremely rare. Instead, they emphasise, criminality as a product of nurture
(Brinkerhoff, White and Ortega, 2011). This means that people who commit heinous hate crimes
were presumably raised in an environment which expressed extreme prejudice towards a certain
racial, ethnic or religious group and truly believed that the world would be a better place without
them in it, or, at least, without them living in the United States (Brinkerhoff, White and Ortega,
2011). As indicated, hate crimes can be explained through the use of theory and, one such theory is
the symbolic interactionism theory. As criminologists were engaged in attempting to

Mercutio A Good Friend Analysis
A friend is someone who you respect and who respects you. A friend is someone who would
stand up for you. In that case, when asked the question, Is Mercutio a good friend to Romeo? ,
Mercutio fits this definition perfectly. For one, Mercutio stands up for Romeo when he is being
verbally attacked by Tybalt. As well as this, Mercutiois willing to look out for Romeo s best
interests. Also, Mercutio is someone who lightens the mood of situations and helps to cheer
Romeo up when he is feeling sad. Although it can seem like Mercutio is a bad friend to Romeo
at times, Mercutio has many great qualities that show his significance to Romeo as a good friend.
To begin with, Mercutio is a good friend to Romeo in that he stands up for Romeo when in need.
In Act III, Scene I, there is a scene in which Tybalt, Mercutio, and Romeo are conversing. In lines

advice to Romeo for getting over Rosaline and himself. If love be rough with you, be rough with

Compare And Contrast Classical Conditioning And Learning
Conditioning and Learning The two major types of conditioning along with the two types of
learning have some similarities, but are also unique in several ways. Classical conditioning is the
pairing of two stimuli, whereas operant conditioning is the process which involves changing the
probability that a response will be repeated (Hockenbury, et al., 183). Observational learning occurs
through observing the actions of others. Cognitive learning is a behavioral change based on the
acquisition of problem solving abilities along with intelligence and conscious thoughts
(Hockenbury, et al., 183) . Different forms of conditioning and learning may be grouped together,
but there are different branches which cover different theories and perspectives. Classical
conditioningis formally defined as the basic learning process that involves repeatedly pairing a
neutral stimulus with a response producing stimulus until the neutral stimulus elicits the same
response (Hockenbury, et al., 183). Brought about by Russian scientist, Ivan Pavlov, classical
conditioning (also known as Pavlovian conditioning) deals with behaviors that are elicited
automatically by some stimulus (Hockenbury, et al., 183). A famous example of this is Pavlov s
experiment with salivating dogs. Unconditioned stimulus, unconditioned responses, conditioned
stimulus, and conditioned responses are the four principles of this theory. The unconditioned
stimulus is the natural stimulus that reflexively brings forth a

Theme Of Social Classes In To Kill A Mockingbird
In the Bildungsroman novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the protagonist Jean Louise
Scout Finch lives in Maycomb, Alabama. In Maycomb, races are segregated and people are
alienated; Arthur Boo Radley was isolated by most of Maycomb, for example. In the novel, Scout
met people in different social classes such as: Robert E. Lee Bob Ewell, Tom Robinson, Calpurnia,
and Atticus Finch. Through the use of complications, imageries, and characters, Lee implies
stereotypes and how a person s development can be impacted by social classes.
Complications Lee used displays how different types of social classes are treated differently. In
Maycomb, white people even if extremely poor such as Bob Ewell, receives more benefits than
African Americans. For instance, in the court case between Bob Ewell and Tom Robinson (an
African American), Judge Taylor and the rest of the jury claimed Tom as guilty, as if each guilty
was a separate stab between them (Lee 211). Bob Ewell accused Tom for raping his daughter,
Mayella Ewell. However, even though Tom was innocent, he was proven guilty just because he was
an African American. Instead, Bob Ewell should be convicted for abusing Mayella; he was not
convicted due to being white. The court case demonstrates social classes being treated differently
because lower social classes usually do not get the benefit of the doubt if the opponent belongs in a
higher class. Therefore, social classes impacts people because certain outcomes happen

If you take any property of an object and separate it from the physical object, considering it by
itself, then you are contemplating a form. For example, if you separate the squareness of a dice
from its color, and its weight, etc. Now consider just squareness by itself, you are thinking of the
form of squareness. This property exists apart from the dice, in a different mode of existence than
the dice. The form is not just the idea of squareness you have in your mind. It exists independently
of the dice and independently of whether someone thinks of it. All square objects, not just this

ABSTRACT
In Cautious versus desperado males: predation risk affects courtship intensity but not female
choice in a wolf spider the courtship displays of the wolf spider, Pardosa milvina were investigated.
The wolf spider s courtship display in males includes raising their legs and shaking their bodies.
The rate of a males leg raises is a signal of the assets the male has, females that mate with males
with quicker leg raises had more progeny and these left the egg sac faster and lived longer.
Rypstra et al. wanted to determine if male wolf spiders that differ in assets and quality would
behave differently under the risk of predation and wondered if the differences in reactions would
affect how females choose their mates. This study consisted of two experiments, in the first
experiment they determined that the symmetry of the front legs of males was related to their rate
of leg raises, this was used as a measure of male quality. They used this measure in the second
experiment when they explored how Tigrosa helluo predator cues changed the males courtship
behaviour. It was determined that predation cues did not have an effect on whether mating
happened between males and females and a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that higher quality males should perform their courtship display at a lower intensity
when predator cues are present, while lower quality males should increase their displays. This is
because higher quality males long term reproductive options are more evident and lower quality
males may become desperados and showoff whatever assets they have in a desperate attempt to
convince a female to mate with them. If females can judge whether a male is of high or low
quality then even when there is risk of predation, they will mate with the males that are of higher
quality (Rypstra et al.

Reaction Paper On Exorcism
Exorcisms are rituals performed on those speculated to be possessed by an evil spirit. The
exorcists who do the act of removing demons are typically Catholic priests. An exorcism is the
process of driving out demons, associated with primitive Roman Catholic beliefs. Though the idea
of exorcisms are mainly related to Roman Catholics, there is documentation of Jesus Christ
performing an exorcismin the Holy Bible. This is a much older concept that is not widely believed
the way it was in earlier society.
Possession occurs when a person, place, or thing is taken over by a demon; which is when
exorcisms become necessary. Baptismal and simple exorcisms are preformed to avert possession,
while a real exorcism takes place after possession. The theory ... Show more content on

The first is recognizing the presence of the demon. The second is pretense, the demon does its
best to act as if they are the person they are possessing. The exorcist tries their best to discover
the demon s name, which gives the exorcist control over the demon. The breakpoint is when the
demon reveals their identity, they will speak in their own voice. During the step that is referred to
as the clash, the exorcist and demon battle each other to win over the being of the possessed. If the
exorcist is successful throughout the first four steps, then the fifth is expulsion. At this point, the
demon has either departed or was killed. Each of these five steps have to be done correctly in order
for the demon to be driven out.
The success of an exorcism is dependent upon the exorcist. Your typical priest most likely isn t
trained to perform an exorcism. However, each Catholic church needs at least one exorcist. IAEO,
the International Association of Exorcists, was established in 1992. Pauline Fr. Gabriele Amorth is
supposedly the founder of this organization that originated in Rome. There are over five hundred
members in the IAEO, even though exorcisms today are extremely rare. An exorcist must be
exceedingly educated on exorcisms and dedicated to warding off evil

The Theme of Isolation in Various Literature
The Theme of Isolation in Various Literature
In this essay all of the literature I have chosen will have to do with isolation. {1} When people
have been isolated they don t see other people for a long time and this can lead to make a person
stronger or make them weaker. In a live and death situation in can give them the extra will to live
that you didn t have before. It can make him stronger and become his ally or it can beat him. When
you are alone it makes you think about things that you never thought about before and make you
work harder at the task at hand.

It transpires throughout the novel and Spike Millen becomes a man driven in a compulsive
desperate hunt for the mad trapper. Through time Spike dissects the mad trappers obstinate yet
unique character. Spike reveals reveals that the mad trapper does indeed have an unknown
origin, a profound impact on his surroundings, and an excellent ability to disappear. Upon this
revelation he accepts the ultimate challenge. His inciting force appears to be wrapped in the
glory and stature of accomplishing the ultimate feat; apprehending the mad trapper. I find it hard
to account for the dynamic change, however I do in fact feel that it ties Spike s occupation and
the manner of living that he at the time engaged in. This was not some taboo to follow a through
greuling blizzards and 40 temperatures, it was his occupation, this was accepted as part of the
job. Through time Spike took his trade beyond the limit. The mad trapper acted as his nemesis,
and the life of a pair of fools ended.
When the mad trapper was isolated it made him stronger and be able to do feats that no other
human had done. He was able to climb over mountains in blizzards and sleep without shelter in 40.
He had found a way to live by himself and he didn t want to break that pattern.

Similarities and differences between English bill of rights and the declaration rights of man and
citizen
Bryan. W
Mr. Roberts
The English bill of rights and the declaration rights of man and citizen are two of the most
influential documents ever written between 1600 1800; those documents greatly affect the rights
and freedom that everyone was born with today, it also greatly affects the US constitution about
how they govern their country how they think about government. The two documents have many
similarities and differences; those two documents were both created because of a similar reason.
The kings that were ruling before those documents were created were both corrupted with power;

(Blue) Although James had a much bigger army than William s, lots of soldiers betrayed James
and joined the other side; scared that they will kill him; he fled to France. (Harris) It was after the
battle that they called it the glorious revolution, it was called glorious because in which religious
and political problems were solved without bloodshed. February 2nd 1689 William and Mary
were crowned as the first ruler where two people equally share the power. (Stuart) That year the
English Bills of Rights were written which basically limited the power of the monarchs and that
there are limits to what the King or Queen can do. William and Mary humbly accepted the
document and signed, a new type of government also rose in which the people could choose who
ruled their kingdom, and it was called a democratic government. (Stuart)
King Louis XVI controlled France during 1754 1793; the population was unevenly divided; the
3rd estate makes up about 97% of the entire population. The 3rd estate was very poor, they rarely
could pay of rent or even pay for their food. Due to the huge debt king Lois owes from joining a
war to help the Americans hoping avenge his grandfather s losses to Britain he raised
taxes.(Roberts) It made the people more angry; winter also came and created a drought which
raised the cost of food. The majority of people

Analysis Of The Poem Battle Royal
The primary method for judging the worth of a piece of literature is its organic unity or the
complex way all the elements of a test contribute to a story s meaning. The images, symbols, and
metaphors in Ellison s Battle Royal give this story a whole new meaning. In 1947, when this
short story was published, the black community was at an all time low. The main aspects of this
piece have ambiguous meanings behind them. The grandfather s death scene, the naked dancer,
the battle royal, the narrator s speech, and the narrator s dream all have significant symbolism.
The grandfather s death had a major impact on the narrator s life. As the grandfather passed away
he stated, Son, after I m gone I want you to keep up the good fight... Live with your head in the
lion s mouth... Let em swoller you till they vomit or bust wide open (Ellison, 1495). These
words seem to act as spiritual guidance for the narrator. Throughout the story the readers see the
narrator refer back to these words. The grandfather dies with a legacy that haunts blacks
regardless of social, political, and economic progress. The social, political, and economic system
is seen when the naked blonde s erotic dance is described. Overall, this scene represents America s
distorted value system. The symbolism made by flag tattoo on the dancer is actually a depiction of
the relentless pursuit of money, sex, and power. The men, in the room where the dancing took
place, were not considerate of the dancer s

  • 2. The Cycles of International Conflict Wars have been waged for decades creating the world we live in today. Charles Tilly observed, the state made war and war made the state (qtd in Sernau, 2009, 147). However, these battles have been destructive and bloody resulting in the deaths of countless individuals. These grave consequences lead us to ask the ever problematic question, what could possibly motivate a state to engage in warfare? Fundamentally, some believe waris linked to a conflict of political and economic interests rooted in power struggles ranging from territorial and humanitarian to ideological and ethnic while others argue that war has become ingrained in our societies and economies resulting in this tenacious cycle of confrontation. Territories are the bases... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of these countries include Korea, Vietnam and Cuba (Kent, 2006). An additional factor of international conflict has to deal with ethnic and cultural disputes. Goldstein and Pevehouse believe it is the most one of the most important sources of conflicts in today s world (Goldstein and Pevehouse, 2009, 127). Samuel Huntington is a firm believer that international conflict is becoming closely linked to ethnicity which he outlines in his clash of civilizations theory. Huntington divides the world into eight major civilization outlined as Western, Confucian, Japanese, Islamic, Hindu, Slavic Orthodox, Latin American and African (Huntington, 1993). He then goes on to add that As people define their identity in ethnic and religious terms, they are likely to see an us versus them relation existing between themselves and people of different ethnicity or religion which leads to the clashes of civilizations (Huntington, 1993). A big factor in ethnic conflict is often territorial and linked to self determination. As Goldstein and Pevehouse point out, ethnic groups have strong aspirations and nationalist sentiments for statehood (Goldstein and Pevehouse, 2009, 127). The Kurds are a relevant and current example of an ethnic group seeking to establish a homeland, Kurdistan. However, they are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Diagnosis of an Infected Patient Essay Diagnosis of an Infected Patient Infection is the invasion and growth of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites that are not normally present within the body. A prokaryotic cell is a simple cell that does not have a nucleus. One of the most common types of prokaryotic cells is a bacterium. Bacteria are differentiated by many factors including shape, chemical composition, nutritional requirements, biochemical activities, and sources of energy (Tortora 76). A patient with an infection in the upper respiratory system will need to have a sputum sample sent to the lab for further evaluation to determine the cause in order to accurately treat the infection. Spores can be stained using specific dyes, such as malachite green, that are absorbed by spores in the presence of heat (Noonan). Escherichia is a genus of aerobic gram negative rod shaped bacteria of the family Enterobacteriaceae that form acid and gas on many carbohydrates, such as dextrose and lactose, but not acetone, which include occasional pathogenic forms, including some strains of E. coli which are normally present in the human intestine as well as other forms which typically occur in soil and water (Webster). Escherichia coli is a gram negative bacilli that rarely varies in shape and size and when stained often resemble safety pins because the ends of some bacilli stain more densely than does the middle; which is a characteristic called bipolar staining which is common in enteric gram negative bacilli (ASM). Gram negative cells have a thin cell wall layer and will stain red to pink. The staining process is the same as Gram positive, requiring four steps: applying a primary stain, adding a mordant, then rapid decolorization and completing with a counter stain. Applying the alcohol for decolorization dissolves the outer membrane and leaves small holes in the thin peptidoglycan layer through which the crystal violet iodine diffuse. The gram negative bacteria is colorless after the decolorization; therefore adding safranin ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Second Shepherd Analysis The Second Shepherd s Play is a Wakefield cycle play written during the 15th century. The play is set in Bethlehem and is based on the birth of Jesus Christ told from the perspective of the shepherds attending their flock. During the Middle Ages, cycle plays were popular because they allowed the plays to be performed from town to town. This was important because people could not read and Bibles were so expensive. Cycle plays allowed Christians to learn about key elements pertaining to JesusChrist and other Christian figures. The Second Shepherd s Play is a unique play in that it combines farcical elements and serious lessons. In the play, there are five main characters: Coll, Gib, Daw, Mak, and Gill. Mak, Daw, Gib, and Coll are shepherds and, at the beginning of the play, are all watching their sheep at night in the cold weather. The first part of the play consists of 190 lines where the shepherds are all complaining about something in their lives. Coll is complaining about the cold weather which is relatable to the audience during this time because they often faced harsh weather when attending their flock. Gib is seen complaining about his wife and his marriage. As he continues to complain about his wife, he also begins to warn the audience, especially the young men, to stay away from marriage. Both shepherds began to complain about Daw because they feel he is too lazy and playful. However, they contribute it to his age. Daw walks in complaining that he is hungry and ... Action Plan For Reporting Waste And Abuse Arlecia Johnson September 15, 2016 Action Plan for Reporting Waste and Abuse in the Air Force In fiscal year 2014 it is very clear that there needs to be a better reporting of all of the materials that are owned and are held by the Air Force. It is important to make sure that there is a complete accounting of all of the materials such as parts, ammunition, and other items that belong to the air force so that it will be possible to ensure that in any location there is no issue that the materials will be in the hands of anyone else. The allocation is supposed to serve through departmental roles, with the chiefs of each department consenting to any requested sub budgetary allocation requested by the service men and women in their departments. The offices include the operations office, the general counsel s office, the information and communication office and the human resource office. All actions that will be recommended for this case might not show specific dates, since the military requires a series of approval steps for any implementation, and delays might occur. In addition, the air force is sometimes caught up in emergency situation that lead to freezing operations for security purposes. It also leads to delays and rechanneling of allocated budgets to the emergency situation. The 2014 budget is used in this paper, since it has already been implemented, therefore researchable. Unit 2 has been all about the interior Earth. We learned many things like how planetary differentiation affected the layers of the earth. How people use seismic data to find the depth of the layers. And what convection currents from inside the earth, create. We learned about the interior Earth for Unit 2. Planetary differentiation happened when the Earth first formed. The formation of this planet generated heat from gravitational energy and the decay of radioactive elements. Scientists think that earth may have become so hot that it melted. Denser materials sank toward the center, forming Earths dense, iron core. Less dense material hardened over time to form Earth s outer layers the crust and mantle. Planetary differentiation created the layers of the Earth. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We learned that in 4th grade. We went more in depth with that this year. There are two types of Crust; oceanic and continental. Oceanic is thinner and is mostly made of out basalt. Continental crust is mostly made out of granite. This layer drifts slowly and is solid. The Earth has sub layers. The lithosphere is part of the crust and uppermost Mantle. Next down is the Asthenosphere, where all the tectonic plates are. Then the lowest part of the Mantle is called the Mesosphere. The Mantle is semi solid and has convection currents that move the tectonic plates. It contains more iron than the layer above. The outer core has convection currents that create the magnetic field. It s the swirly hot iron that really causes it. This is the only layer that is liquid. The inner core is solid because of the great pressure on it. It is extremely hot. The deeper you go the hotter it gets and iron increases. Two out of the four main layers have convection ... • 9. Social Class in Jane Austen Throughout this essay , I will be looking at the theme of social class in Jane Austen s work ; critically analysed by Juliet McMaster, a chapter taken from The Cambridge Companion to Jane Austen , edited by Edward Copeland and Juliet McMaster. Jane Austen s novels at first glance tell a story of romance, set within the landowning society amidst country estates, and their cultivation of tea parties, social outings, and extravagant balls; ladies frolicking in flowing gowns through decorated rooms, and men deliberating over their game of whist. The storybook romance usually unfolds in these familiar settings, and inevitably involves the conflict of two lovers separated by differences in social class, and the resulting influence of the... This system unfairly gives privilege to one family member by giving him /her everything, for the preservation of the family name and the estate throughout the generations. Hence the five Longbourn girls are to be turned out upon their father s death, since the estate is entailed to Mr. Collins. Charles Bingley is the most we witness of social mobility. He is a gentleman who lives a lavish life, and whose money was acquired by trade . He walks in his father s footsteps, and once married to Jane, he does buy an estate. This means that the next generation will be a step upwards in their social ladder. His sisters on the other hand are status and power hungry and are proud and conceited . Darcy, rebutes, very realistically that the Bennet sisters connection with trade, will prove to be an obstacle to their happiness and will lessen their chance of marrying men of prestige. The quality of humans is judged by moral and humane standards. Charlotte Lucas chooses to marry the pompous Mr. Collins, not for love but it is simply a marriage of convenience, in which she is the one finding it convenient. Through this Jane Austen presents the bleak and futile existence of women, as well as the happier outcome, of the heroine who finds fulfillment in marrying the man she loves. The servants in Jane Austen s novels represent the poor working class. The poor are seldom mentioned, except through Lady Catherine s scolding of degradation. Human worth should ... • 12. Themes InThe Rememberer And Jealous Husband Return In Form... Many stories have similar themes, The Rememberer by Aimee Bender and Jealous Husband Returns in Form of Parrot by Robert Olen Butler are two short stories that do. In The Rememberer, Ben is going through reverse evolution and Annie and Ben both do not know why. It is implied that Ben remembers Annie, but not completely specified. In Jealous HusbandReturns in Form of Parrot, the husband falls out of a tree trying to catch his wifein the act of cheating and gets reincarnated into a parrot. He remembers her, but she does not know it is him and ends up choosing and purchasing him from the pet store, putting him back into his own home. Both stories have ironic tendencies and share a similar theme, but have different meanings. Throughout both stories, the characters are facing internal conflicts. In The Rememberer, Annie is dealing with Ben going through reverse evolution. She does not know why he is going through it or what to do about it, which results in her battling herself in her own mind. She cannot tell anyone what is going on because nobody would believe her, she is stuck telling people that he has a strange sickness and is forced to keep it all inside. In Jealous Husband Returns in Form of Parrot, the husband is dealing with the internal conflict of being purchased by his wife and brought back into his home where now he is stuck seeing his wife with other men. The conflict comes in to play with the husband because he does not have the vocabulary as a parrot to tell her that it is him. Throughout the two stories, the men are both, somehow, turned into animals. They both may have turned into animals, in one way or another, but those ways are different. In The Rememberer, Ben first turns into an ape, but then turns into a sea turtle, just to turn into a salamander. Whereas, in Jealous Husband Returns in Form of Parrot, the only animal he is turned into is a parrot. Another difference between the two circumstances is, Ben is going through reverse evolution, so he is turning into many different animals, and the husband went through reincarnation after he fell out of the tree, so he will not change forms. The Fathers of Confederation were the architects of the plan that resulted in the proposal that would bring the individual British American colonies together under a Federalist system. There were three main conferences which were held and to be included as a Father of Confederation. These conferences were The Charlottetown Conference 1864, The Quebec Conference 1864, and The London Conference 1866. Britain not only rules the Colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Vancouver Island, and British Columbia, but it also asserted it s authority over all of the lands in the interior that were administered by the Hudson Bay Company. An evolutionary process which could bring all of these lands together under one Federal Government would create a country larger than the United States and with the best chances to stand up to U.S., Spanish and Russian encroachment upon British North America. Living in those conditions is something that most people choose not to think about let alone witness with their own eyes. By not seeing it, they find it easier to pretend it doesn t exist. In the short storyThe Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, Ursula Le Guin writes about a city that from the outside looks like the perfect utopian society a rich culture that is full of laughter, joy and peace, devoid of any violence, poverty or social inequities. This makes it that much more crushing to learn the ugly truth about the source of its tranquility and bliss. Le Guin cannot or will not elaborate on any of the details about Omelas happiness but, she has no issue describing its horrors in detail from the mops with stiff, clotted, foul smelling heads (Le Guin 866) to the eh haa, eh haa (Le Guin 866) noise that the captive child hidden beneath the city makes at night. She does not allow any wiggle room for the reader, who was responsible for creating Omelas, to imagine anything that might mitigate or rationalize the child s misery. The author points out that one thing that the people of Omelas do not have is guilt, but behind this seemingly flawless city s outward appearance, the community knowingly and willingly inflicts horrible suffering on an innocent child out of their own selfishness to ensure that they can live free of any pain or misery. Perhaps the people of Omelas are without a conscience. Regardless of the fact that she does not exactly condemn the purposeful disregard for the life of the child that the people of Omelas have, the way Le Guin depicts the child and the language she uses signifies that she sees its suffering as something that is not only wrong, but almost evil. Argumentative Essay On Teenage Pregnancy Teenage Burden The United States has the highest percentage of teenage pregnancies compared to any other developed country; statistics state that 1 million teenagers become pregnant each year. Teenage pregnancy has retransformed over the past decades, since pregnancy before marriage was considered a taboo but over the past decades it has become a norm. Although teenage pregnancies are widely accepted throughout in the United States there has been an increase in consequences. An abortionmeans to terminate an embryo or fetus before it is adequately developed to survive. A controversy has a rise as to whether they should be among teenagers capable to make the choice to end and unwanted pregnancyor whether parental consent should be required to end an abortion without their parental consent. Teenage abortion should strictly rely on parental consent because teenagers becoming parents is a life changing decision, laws should become stricter across the board, and change in the American culture would decrease abortions. Pregnancy before marriage in the 18th century was considered a disgrace and burden for many women. The ideology during this era was based on religious beliefs and having sex before marriage was a virtue; birth control was not widely accepted or considered a safe way to prevent pregnancy. Women would perform unsafe abortions that would put their health at risk since it was performed with home remedies. Abortion in the early 1800s was considered a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Slaves are seen as Capital there is no need say in an economic downturn to get rid of slaves as there would be for paid workmen. To turn out a slave is to lose money. (Fitzhugh, Sociology, 1) Then there is the fact that a lot of Americans lower class white men are in poverty. They do not have enough food, enough clothing, or enough shelter. The condition of these people is worse than the slaves. Slaves are brought from the wild confines of Africa to live in comfort in America. (Fitzhugh, Sociology, 2) Slaves are hard workers, the are better at working in the climate of the south than those europeans that try and work the land. Sure it would be better to free them and pay them if we were in a place like england which has little land and lots of people. But in America it is opposite, there is tons of land and little people. If slaves are free what is to stop them from going and finding their own land? If that happens it will destroy the economy. • 17. The First Creation Myth Is The Hindu Version Of Creation The first creation myth is the Hindu version of creation, and it is about the sacrifice of the Man (Purusha), the man with a thousand heads, eyes, and feet. The Man himself is all this, whatever has been and whatever is to be and he is the creator and the one creation comes from. He is sacrificed by the gods and his body makes up the earth. The Man s mouth was the brahmin, his arms were made into the nobles, his two thighs were the populace, and from his feet the servants were born. The moon was born from his mind; the sun was born from his eye. After, his mouth came Indra (4) and Agni, and from his vital breath the wind (Vyu) was born. Then his navel the atmosphere was born; from his head the heavenemerged. From his two feet came the earth, and the expanses of the sky from his ear. The second creation story is the story from the Bible, which is Christians version of creation. On the first day God (the creator) created light, the second day God created waters, the atmospheric water and the oceanic water. On the third day God created dry land and vegetation, and on the forth day he created the sun and the moon and the stars and planets. On the fifth day God created water creatures and birds, and on the sixth day he created land animals and man. God creates all this out of nothing and it takes him six days. Why Terrorist Groups Use Cbrre Weapons The question on whether or not terrorist groups are likely to use CBRN weapons in the United States or anywhere else in the world remains an unconfirmed debate of opinions. Sinai s (2007) article ,explaining certain characteristics about the terrorists threat, states that illicit supply networks exists in countries that promote proliferation of these types of weapons and reported the occurrence where Usama Bin Laden tried to acquire a cylinder of weapons grade uranium (Sinai 2007, para 24). Quite often lies are integrated into society in order to manipulate the minds of the receiver(s) and ultimately shape the community in a particular way. The Village a 2004 by M. Such issues that have been addressed by simulation include, but not limited to; improving patients workflows and throughput time, reducing waiting times, resources allocation and optimization, staff scheduling and development of decision support systems (DSS). Discrete Event Simulation (DES), Agent Based Simulation (ABS) and System Dynamics are the main simulation methods that have been used for healthcare systems modelling and analysis [2]. Although each of these methods has its own capabilities, they exhibit some limitations [3]. Table 1 summaries some of the capabilities and limitations of DES and ABS methods in healthcare applications. Recently, several hybrid/integrated simulation models have been introduced. In such approach, multiple simulation methods are combined in one model. This combination/ integration of individual methods enables the symbiotic realization of the strengths of individual methods, while reducing their limitations [4]. Also, the current software provides the IT specialist the freedom to create any type of report that the Vice President of Purchasing would want for inventory management. The Symbolic Interactionalism Theory Of Hate Crime Hate crimes are difficult to fathom, primarily because they involve the unprovoked physical attacking and, sometimes, murder of people based on race and ethnicity. A more formal definition of hate crimes is presented by Shepard (2017, p. 285). As he writes, a hate crime is a criminal act that is motivated by extreme prejudice, This is a very good, concise and accurate definition, nevertheless, hate crimes are not the outcome of unimaginable heights of discrimination. Most people have prejudices and many have stereotypes regarding others, whether it be racial or class stereotypes. The average increase in all forms of hate crimes rose by 41% between 2016 2017 (Farivar, 2017). Hence, inarguable statistics and numbers establish a very high rate of increase in hate crimes, most especially during 2016 2017, coinciding with the campaign and subsequent election of Donald Trump. There are many theories of crime, with criminologists, psychologist and sociologists, debating whether criminality is an an outcome of nature, as in genetically inherited, or produced by nurture (Brinkerhoff, White and Ortega, 2011). Even though the debate is ongoing, most criminologists, sociologists and psychologists agree that cases in which criminality is linked to nature, are extremely rare. Instead, they emphasise, criminality as a product of nurture (Brinkerhoff, White and Ortega, 2011). This means that people who commit heinous hate crimes were presumably raised in an environment which expressed extreme prejudice towards a certain racial, ethnic or religious group and truly believed that the world would be a better place without them in it, or, at least, without them living in the United States (Brinkerhoff, White and Ortega, 2011). As indicated, hate crimes can be explained through the use of theory and, one such theory is the symbolic interactionism theory. As criminologists were engaged in attempting to ... • 35. Compare And Contrast Classical Conditioning And Learning Conditioning and Learning The two major types of conditioning along with the two types of learning have some similarities, but are also unique in several ways. Classical conditioning is the pairing of two stimuli, whereas operant conditioning is the process which involves changing the probability that a response will be repeated (Hockenbury, et al., 183). Observational learning occurs through observing the actions of others. Cognitive learning is a behavioral change based on the acquisition of problem solving abilities along with intelligence and conscious thoughts (Hockenbury, et al., 183) . Different forms of conditioning and learning may be grouped together, but there are different branches which cover different theories and perspectives. Classical conditioningis formally defined as the basic learning process that involves repeatedly pairing a neutral stimulus with a response producing stimulus until the neutral stimulus elicits the same response (Hockenbury, et al., 183). Brought about by Russian scientist, Ivan Pavlov, classical conditioning (also known as Pavlovian conditioning) deals with behaviors that are elicited automatically by some stimulus (Hockenbury, et al., 183). A famous example of this is Pavlov s experiment with salivating dogs. Unconditioned stimulus, unconditioned responses, conditioned stimulus, and conditioned responses are the four principles of this theory. In Maycomb, races are segregated and people are alienated; Arthur Boo Radley was isolated by most of Maycomb, for example. In the novel, Scout met people in different social classes such as: Robert E. Lee Bob Ewell, Tom Robinson, Calpurnia, and Atticus Finch. Through the use of complications, imageries, and characters, Lee implies stereotypes and how a person s development can be impacted by social classes. Complications Lee used displays how different types of social classes are treated differently. In Maycomb, white people even if extremely poor such as Bob Ewell, receives more benefits than African Americans. For instance, in the court case between Bob Ewell and Tom Robinson (an African American), Judge Taylor and the rest of the jury claimed Tom as guilty, as if each guilty was a separate stab between them (Lee 211). Bob Ewell accused Tom for raping his daughter, Mayella Ewell. However, even though Tom was innocent, he was proven guilty just because he was an African American. Instead, Bob Ewell should be convicted for abusing Mayella; he was not convicted due to being white. • 45. Analysis Of The Poem Battle Royal The primary method for judging the worth of a piece of literature is its organic unity or the complex way all the elements of a test contribute to a story s meaning. The images, symbols, and metaphors in Ellison s Battle Royal give this story a whole new meaning. In 1947, when this short story was published, the black community was at an all time low. The main aspects of this piece have ambiguous meanings behind them. The grandfather s death scene, the naked dancer, the battle royal, the narrator s speech, and the narrator s dream all have significant symbolism. The grandfather s death had a major impact on the narrator s life. As the grandfather passed away he stated, Son, after I m gone I want you to keep up the good fight... Live with your head in the lion s mouth... Let em swoller you till they vomit or bust wide open (Ellison, 1495). These words seem to act as spiritual guidance for the narrator. Throughout the story the readers see the narrator refer back to these words. The grandfather dies with a legacy that haunts blacks regardless of social, political, and economic progress. The social, political, and economic system is seen when the naked blonde s erotic dance is described. Overall, this scene represents America s distorted value system. The symbolism made by flag tattoo on the dancer is actually a depiction of the relentless pursuit of money, sex, and power. The men, in the room where the dancing took place, were not considerate of the dancer s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
