2. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Would Have Approved of Young...
You can get up now, Watson. The war is over. (Columbus) Many readers may be familiar with the
Scottish physician and author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle who wrote short stories about a famous
detective named Sherlock Holmes and his assistant, Dr. John H. Watson (Wilson). The 1985 film,
Young Sherlock Holmes is an imaginative creation of how Holmes and Watson met during their
younger years. In the beginning of the film, the viewers are introduced to the young detective
Sherlock Holmesand later introduced to Holmes close friend, Dr. John H. Watson. The viewers are
also introduced to Holmes nemesis Professor James Moriarty. The film displays a background for
the creation of Sherlock Holmes and how Holmes and Watson supposedly met during... Show more

Rathe is a bright young man who runs the school that Holmes and Watson go to in London (Ebert).
Rathe takes Holmes under his wing and looks out for Holmes, pretending to befriend Holmes as he
investigates two murders of prominent men that have occurred in London (Shaffer). As Holmes
investigates the two murders, he begins to realize that there is a cult connected to the murders. The
victims were shot with a hallucinogen that caused the victims to have bizarre hallucinations that
resulted in death (Martel). The film Young Sherlock Holmes has gotten many praises for the
quality of the film. According to Christopher Null, the film portrays how Moriarty and Watson
meet Holmes as well as give an explanation to where the pipe, hat and Elementary! motto came
from. Christopher Null also mentions that the outline for Harry Potter came from Levinson s
Young Sherlock Holmes (Null). Michael Noble, another movie critic, agrees that Young Sherlock
Holmes was possibly the beginning of Harry Potter because both plots had two boys and one girl.
Michael Noble further states that Holmes and Potter had a similar starry destiny and that Holmes
smart alec knowledge contributed to the character Hermione in Harry Potter (Noble). Though many
critics have different views of the film Young Sherlock Holmes, the film introduces the viewers to
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle s work and his famous characters that continue to exist even after the 19th
century. Young Sherlock Holmes is

3. Persuasive Essay On The Road Not Taken
Each day we must make decisions on what we are going to do that day, or even the next day,
however we come to the two roads that diverge, and the roads that diverge are significantly life
changing. A poem that comes into mind is The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost. This poem
affects me personally because I am to that point in my college career where I must decide on
where I am going to further my education, do I want to major in something else, or even move out
of state. The message that Frost is trying to get across is that you have options, and you come to
that point in life where you must decide. Frost identifies in his first sentence of his poem that reads,
two roads diverged in a yellow wood. (Frost) Which means that we come to this intersection in life,
therefore the human mindtries to look down as far as it allows us. Thus, we need to decide,
furthermore act, and when we make a choice, we kind of regret of not taking the other option. Frost
s first stanzasays it all; sorry I could not travel on both and be one traveler, long I stood and
looked down one as far as I could to where it bent in the undergrowth. (Frost) Trying to figure out
what you will be doing for the next step is life changing. Today is that big day, when you make
your final decision, on what roadyou are going to take. When you do decide what you are going
to do, you will ask yourself, did I make the right move. Frost has a fabulous way of describing
real life situations in his poem, he writes; perhaps the better claim, because it was grassy and
wanted wear. (Frost) When Frost says, it was grassy and wanted wear. This means when you
decide on the path, you will recognize the path is green , and you are going to follow through
with the option that you decided on. When you first encounter a bad experience, you immediately
start thinking about of what you could ve done. Robert Frost states in the third stanza yet
knowing how way leads on the way; I doubted if I should ever come back. When you doubt
something, you are uncertain about something, and when you are uncertain about it you just don t
flip a coin , and base your move on heads or tails , thus you will not make an irrational decision,
you will

4. The Use Of Metal Detectors In School Shootings
School shootings have been on the rise in the United States since the early 80 s, questioning the
safety and security of schools all across the country. Lots of ideas have come up for trying to
keep weapons out of schools but the idea of having metal detectors has stuck and on paper seems
to be a viable option for schools but in real use they have lots of issues. One of the biggest
problems with using metal detectors in public schools will be cost. Cost affects many different
things to do with the metal detectors, two of the major factors being proper trained staff and
paying for repairs. Another issue with metal detectors are they are slow, make kids late to class
and also make kids dread going to school in the morning. There could be compromises made like
alternative options like random checks or quick pat downs but getting rid of this style of
security would be better all together. Metal detectors should not be used in schools because they
make students late to class, cause anxiety and are too expensive to be used in public schools.
Metal detectors are making kids tired and late to class because the process is so lengthy. Ms.
Dunley, a teacher who works at a school where metal detectors are being used says She marks
several people late everyday because they are being held up by the metal detector. The time that is
being consumed by the metal detectors not only wastes class time but kids have to arrive hours
before school to wait in line to get passed the metal

these interactions and proceedings. Some looking to gain insight into why social interactions take
place, and why relationships exist. Others seeking to explain that only certain types of interactions
have value and what those values are. However, no single discipline focuses solely on cooperation,

addressed and defined later on.
Quite a bit of research exists to highlight many types of relationships and how those relationships
have reduced certain risks, or introduced new risks. Many researchers have tried to consider the
uniqueness of the common examples that have been accented in anthropological research, like the
Bantu people and the Basarwa people that Elizabeth Cashdan (1985) discusses. Although not all
researchers have been as successful in identifying risk reduction reciprocity model in cross cultural
examples, such as Bliege Bird et. al. (2002), which proposed that this could be because of their
treatment of free riders or just that they practice food and resource sharing without any concern for
reducing risk of loss of resources. Either way, as previously mentioned quite a bit of research has
been conducted to identify types of risk reduction reciprocity strategies, and much more research
has been done to examine different types of relationships. Overall, the primary concern of this
paper is going to be trying to identify a relationship or association between the proposed model and
the formation of different types

Bradley Safran DCOM 1500 February 26 2016 Steven May Introduction The secret of NIMH
uses Sergei Eisenstein s theory of montage in many scenes too both advance the plot and
continue most of its ongoing themes. The plot of the secret of NIMH is that Mrs. Jonathan
Brisby goes on a quest to save her family from the plough of the farmer that is soon to come.
Along the way she is pointed towards the rats of NIMH who have been experimented on and
have consequently become intelligent and as such they want to become self reliant and stop
stealing from the farm. At this point Nicodemus reveals that Mrs. Brisby s late husband, Mr.

In The secret of NIMH, this is most apparent, in regard to the sequence at 1:10:50 1:14:51. These
scenes mix elements of, metric, tonal, and rhythmic montages. Within these scenes we get to see
the tension caused by the metric montage as the shots become increasingly shorter with a greater
affinity with closeups. The same is seen with the rhythmic montage as the shots switch between
Mrs. Brisby and the now sinking children which technic demonstrates conflict by using opposing
screen directions. The tonal montage mixes in later in that same sequence as the now distraught
Mrs. Brisby is pulled away from the sunk house containing her children. As the house sinks, we hear
a humming sound of a choir like music in the background which music gives the effect of hope.
Therefore the use of the tonal mortgage can be observed in this scene. It is therefore evident that in
this sequence all three of the mortgages, i.e. metric, rhythmic and tonal montages, were combined
and interplayed to create the Overtonal montage to convey the overwhelming experience
demonstrated in this

7. Food In Tom Standage s An Edible History Of Humanity
In many ways, food has been imperative to political and social influences on global human
society. In chapters five and seven of An Edible History of Humanity by Tom Standage, the
importance of food and its effect on history is shown throughout the major themes of trading, the
idea that food is equal to wealth, and the life long sustenance that foods provide to people. In
Standage s book, middle eastern botanists traded the spice of cinnamon, and potatoes were traded
and seen as a valued foodin all of Europe. Standage proves that food equals wealth when he wrote
about the importance of spices across the Middle East. He says that people who owned spices were
seen as luxurious because they could serve delicacies such as rare spices and could serve more
flavorful food. Finally, the sustenance that spices, as well as maize/potatoes, provide is actually
very similar to each other. Although spices could be seen as a more secondary source of
sustenance, the rarity and high demand for spices allowed for trading and receiving nutritious
food. On the other hand, maize was very important because almost anyone could grow maize and it
could, therefore, be used as a major food supply.
Food has had a major social and political influence on the world due to the trading of crops and
ideas which have been seen in chapters five and seven of Standage s novel. You can see this trade
when middle eastern botanists shared different stories of origins during the spread of cinnamon
to make others not know how to harvest cinnamon, as well as the trading of potatoes from
England and Ireland down to other parts of Europe. Botanists were very important for trade in
Southern Europe, Northern Africa, and Asia because they let people acquire spices from all
across the world and they made their home civilizations richer because of it. In chapter 7,
Columbus brought back maize and sugar from the New World over to Spain which then spread
to England and all across the world So rapid was the spread of maize around the world that its
origins became obscured almost immediately (Kindle Locations 1592 1593). The trading of maize
became so important because it can grow almost anywhere, and it served as a very nutritious,

Diary of...a Cleaner Outer Spring cleaning arrived even earlier at Cottage 40 than spring this

10. Diomedes Poetry Analysis
Then, when the Achaeans start loosing, Athena and Hera harness Heras chariot and put on their
armor. When they get Zeus approval to aid the Acheans, they fly to the battlefield, and Hera
gives courage to the Achaean forces.Athena flies to Diomedes to remind him that she will protect
him and that there should be no reason to be afraid, in fact, she criticizes him. Diomedes replies
that Ares is dominating the battle resulting Athena to get into Diomedes chariot to attack Ares.
With Athena s help, Diomedes spears Ares; In a panic, Ares flies away. The gods constantly
intervene in the war, and to some extent, the tides of war can be measured by a gods
intervention. Usually, when a god arrives, it changes the outcome on the battlefield, as soldiers
will are given new courage. With Athena s help, Diomedes glory reaches its peak as he spears
the god of war himself. The passage is interesting because it suggests the relationship between free
will and divinity in the poem. Diomedes deemed a strong fighter, and yet he s dependent upon the
gods for support. He not a free agent: instead, he needs the help of gods and goddesses. In this way,
the passage reinforces why religion and divine worship are so important in the poem: without the
gods maneuvering them, the characters couldn t accomplish much. Finally, the gods intervention is
a reinforcement that the battle between Achaea and Troy is a battle between groups of gods in
conflict. At the beginning of book four, the

Humanity of the Primitive in Heart of Darkness, Dialect of Modernism and Totem and Taboo
The ways in which a society might define itself are almost always negative ways. We are not X. A
society cannot exist in a vacuum; for it to be distinct it must be able to define itself in terms of the
other groups around it. These definitions must necessarily take place at points of cultural contact,
the places at which two societies come together and arrive at some stalemate of coexistence. For
European culture of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries this place of contact this new
culture by which to define itself came from Africa, from those primitive cultures whose society was
being studied and in some ways appreciated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The European mind at the fringes of civilisation, when confronted with this Otherness, cannot settle
on one or the other of these alternatives. European reactions to other cultures tend to oscillate
between these two poles, and thus the same culture can seem simple, authentic, concrete, or, on the
other hand, odd, uncanny, and arbitrary (ibid.). While this paradigm of shifting viewpoints is
exemplified by Marlow in Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness, it seems to find its resolution in
Sigmund Freud s assertion that in many ways the modern man is the primitive man.
Marlow s oscillation between viewpoints is almost startling in its rapidity. On his very first
meeting with the natives of the Congo, he swings from one pole to the other in only a few sentences:
They shouted, sang; their bodies streamed with perspiration; they had faces like grotesque masks
these chaps; but they had bone, muscle, a wild vitality, an intense energy of movement that was as
natural and true as the surf along the coast. They wanted no excuse for being there. They were a
great comfort to look at. (Conrad, 17)
So in the space of three sentences, the natives go from being grotesque masks to chaps who were
as natural and true as the surf along the coast. Marlow is having a great deal of trouble making up
his mind over the Africans, and he never really comes to any conclusion.
While he is staying in the down river station, Marlow

13. A Raisin Of The Sun
When I first read A Raisin in the Sun I thought it to be quite humorous and lighthearted. However
after reading it again for a second time I noticed that while it is humorous, it is also set in a time
where things were far from lighthearted for African Americans. This particular play was set in the
1950 s which was a very difficult time for the United States in regards to racerelations. I thoroughly
enjoyed this story not only because of the controversy within the family unit but also because at
the end of the play the family made do with what they had and cared for each other regardless of
mistakes made along the way. In my opinion the underlying message is that blood is thicker than
water, or in this case money. Set in the 1950 s, A Raisin in the Sun is about an African American
family, the Youngers, living in Chicago. The Youngers have received a check for $10,000 from the
late Mr. Youngers life insurance policy. Each family member has their own idea of what to do with
the money but the main character, mama, wants to buy a house because it was a dream that she
shared with her late husband. As you can imagine, this results in turmoil for the family. Mama s son
Walter wants to invest the money into a bar. Mama s daughter Beneatha wants to use the money to
cover her costly medical school tuition. The turmoil continues to grow when mama makes a down
payment on a house that just so happens to be in a predominantly white neighborhood. Shortly
afterwards, a man named Mr.

the next slot of berries, the remaining quantity of berries will be arrived. The total amount of
berries that will be processed is 7200 bbls (600 x 12). The total waiting hours for trucks will be as
follows: Processing rate = 600 bbls/hr. Arrival rate = 1050 bbls/hr. Processing time for 3200

means trucks will have to wait for (12600 5216)*(15.24 10.03)/2/75 = 256. 5 truck hours [15.24

Tracking mobile assets has always been a challenge for all businesses. Radio Frequency
Identification, also known as RFID, is an increasingly popular data storage technology used to

usually is anything from microns to light years across in size which are important and should be
consistent with all the elements in the project so the layers of lines are built up to the patches and
that creates the model that defines the shape of the object. (Boggs, Petrie, 2008) The modeler
contains the power of design; which the animator provides the illusion of life. The animator also
uses tools to make objects move which helps the animation process begin the same way, with a
storyboard. A storyboard is a series of still images that shows how the elements will move and
interact with each other. This process is important to the animator because it helps decide what
movements need to be assigned to objects in the animation. The animator must also have key points
of movements for each object in the scene. This helps the computer to produce motion for each
object in a frame by frame sequence. The final product when put together, gives the look of fluid
movement which when the modeler is formed, the animator provides motion. These designs and
elements are nothing but empty or hollow forms

MK Ultra was a project formed by the CIA as a mind control program ( Project MKULTRA,
2016). This program implemented a new way to interrogate by using torture and drugs such as
marijuana and LSD ( Project MKULTRA, 2016). The reason for these tactics were to weaken
the individual so the agency could get a confession through mind control ( Id, 2016). Headed by
Dr. Sidney Gottlieb, MK Ultra was started officially on the order of CIA director Allen Welsh
Dulles on April 13, 1953 ( Id, 2016). The goal was to develop mind controlling drugs for use
against the Soviet bloc in response to the allegations that North Korea, China, and the Soviet Union
were already using techniques of mind control and torture on prisoners of war ( Id, 2016).... Show

Although sometimes top officials at these institutions were aware of the CIA s involvement,
most often the CIA operated through these institutions using front organizations ( Id, 2016).
They also conducted business through other organizations by having subprojects ( Id, 2016).
These projects were the research that most did not know MK Ultra was driving ( Id, 2016).
Some of these subcontracts were also through colleges ( Id, 2016). Project MK Ultra was first
brought to public attention by anonymous tips ( Id, 2016). Because of those tips, in 1975 the
Church Committee of the U.S. Congress and Gerald Ford began to investigate CIA activities
within the United States ( Id, 2016). Investigative efforts were initially hampered by the fact that
CIA Director Richard Helms ordered all MK Ultra files destroyed in 1973; however, the Church
Committee and Rockefeller Commission investigations relied on both the sworn testimony of
direct participants and on the relatively small number of documents that survived Helms
destruction order ( Id, 2016). One 1955 MK Ultra document gives an indication of the size and
range of the effort; this document refers to the study of an assortment of mind altering substances (
Id, 2016). Obviously enough information survived or else we still wouldn t know about these
experiments today. Once Project MK Ultra officially got underway in April 1953, experiments

The royal tombs of Egypt reveal that they wore fabrics such as silk which was very rare and a
great commodity of the time. Artifacts and what s left that were found during excavations reveal to
us that ancient Egyptians were very fashionable and culturally aware. The ancient royalty of Egypt
such as the pharaohs wore a lot of gold jewelry. The abundance of gold made ancient Egypt seem to
have been a very rich nation. Now, Egyptians are very fond of arts, music and sports. Football is
the favorite sport of the Egyptians. Family ties are also very strong in Egypt. The males respect
Egyptian women, which makes most of the big cities such as Cairo and Alexandria much safer for
women than any western cities such as Sudan and Kuwait.
The ancient Egyptians were very religious minded. Gods and goddesses were part of everyday
life of ancient Egyptians. They had gods and goddesses who they had persistent faith. Religious
practices of ancient Egypt were linked to movements of holy bodies such as constellations, the
sun, the moon, and the planets. Some of the most respected idols of ancient Egyptians are Osiris
and Isis. Now, Egypt s population mainly consists of Sunni Muslims and Coptic Christians. People
of both religions moderately follow their religious practices. Religious principles are quite
noticeable in their daily lives.
Today, Egypt is at the core of the Muslim world while in the past it was dominated by varying

Short Message Reliability in Mobile Networks Daniel KimAllan Suyao Graduate
StudentGraduate Student CSU Long BeachCSU Long Beach Abstract The use of short
messaging systems (SMS) is becoming more mainstream due to the exponential increase in cell
phone usage and other mobile devices. From messages sent through Twitter to emergency
notifications broadcast through mobile networks, the short messaging systems is becoming more
ubiquitous. In our paper, we will present the modeling approach for SMS that will lead to the
Simple Reliability Model and the Advanced Analytical Model. We will use the NS 2 Simulator to
simulate the output that consists of a server and numerous mobile nodes. We will compare the
analytical models to our simulation results. Key Words: Analytical models, mobile technology,
wireless networks 1. Introduction Short messages sent from mobile devices to other mobile
devices are an essential way of instant communication. The use of applications that rely on short
messaging such as Twitter allow fixed line and mobile phone devices to exchange short text
messages. It is estimated that approximately 3.5 billion mobile phone subscribers use SMS data
applications. From 2010 to 2012, over six trillion text messages were sent. This translates to an
average of nearly 200,000 SMS text messages sent per second [3]. The nodes used in short

One of those ideas is how can someone tell if they are alive or dead without experiencing. At the
end of the movie there is a major plot twist where the audience finds out that the doctor was
actually dead the entire and got shot he did not realize either. The doctor did not realize that he
was dead until Cole said They do not know they are dead yet. The doctor realizes this is
happening to him when he goes back to his house for the first time and sees his wife. Another
idea is that how can we tell what is real or fake without actually seeing it. This idea comes from
Cole Sean a nine year old kid who suffers from a disorder where he can see dead people as though
they were living. His problem brings up an interesting point because Humans do not know what
is actually real or not because we really do not what is there. Cole is a very special kid because
he can the dead people and he knows what is real because he sees the dead people and he knows
what is there. It is a little frightening these things out in this world that humans cannot see but
could be there. A theme found in sixth sense is Closure makes everything better. This theme is
found when the Doctor is by Cole to talk to his wife when she is sleeping because then she will
listen. Cole said to the Doctor the best time to talk to her is when she is sleeping, because she
will actually listen. The Doctors does this and His wife is able to feel much better because she
knows that her husband is okay and that he will always be with her. This makes the doctor feel
better too because he knows that he wife still loves him and will always remember him. The
doctor and his wife were both better once the doctor opened up and gave some closure. Another
example about this is when Cole and his mom were stuck in traffic Cole finally told his mother

Cultural Assimilation of Latino Immigrants in the United States Latino immigrants have always
had many obstacles when coming into the United States, the difference between the American and
the Latin cultures is what has caused a huge hurdle that immigrants have found hard to overpass.
This obstacle has caused many generations to go through cultural assimilation. Mize et al. (2012)
explain that cultural assimilation is the adaptation of immigrants to unfamiliar cultural patterns,
which include language and the value systems of other cultures. In order for immigrants to be
successful in another country, which is not of their origin; they need to learn how to assimilate to
their new homes. Immigrants have learned that they need to adapt in order to get to experience new
opportunities and also to learn from new cultures that are not theirs (Mize et al., 2012). Immigrants
have learned that they are not leaving behind their own believes and norms, but mixing their norms,
this gives them the opportunity to create and mix their culture with the new. Cultural assimilation
can be hard to achieve because in one hand it is important to change in order to live within a
different culture, but on the other hand it is important for a person to maintain their identity
regardless of where they live. At times immigrants find it difficult to achieve a balance and for

The understanding of blood spatter patterns is not a widely recognized forensic practice.
Bloodstain pattern interpretation (BPI) is commonly used in murder investigations, but could be

from the number of blows, stabs or shots a victim was given, the movement that was undergone by

It is flung off the weapon or tool during and after the act as a result of centrifugal force. Cast off
spatter is often elliptical in shape which is why it is easily confused with arterial spurting
(Sutton, 1998). However, it can also resemble a typical medium velocity droplet any time the
blood hits a surface. For example, a blow to the top of the head with an over head strike or
simply cast off forming from blood dripping off a weapon after use will result in a similar
pattern to a medium or low velocity droplet. Smooth metallic weaponry used will generate a more
profound pattern than a textured weapon. In other words an aluminum baseball bat will yield a
greater amount of cast off blood than a wooden baseball bat. All these elements are important in
uncovering the truth behind a crime scene, and in a controlled environment seem simple.
Implementing these techniques in an actual situation is more difficult as crime scenes are all
unique. A multitude of elements need to be considered before forming an opinion from blood
spatter. Spot size, quantity, shape, distribution, location, AOI, and target surface are only a few of
these elements. As with other types of forensic science negative evidence can be used in BPI.
Void is the absence of blood spatter in an otherwise continuous pattern. This leads evidence leads
us to believe that an object or person has blocked the blood from striking the surface observed.

40. The Development Of Drug Addiction Essay
Undoubtedly, a huge role in the women abuses plays by the biological characteristics of the
development of drug addiction. The most important are features of a constitution and hormonal
difference, which significantly affect the pharmacokinetics of drugs (NIAA, 2015). In general,
women have a lower activity of hepatic enzymes related to drug metabolism. Resulting from the
body weight and a higher ratio of fat tissue in relation to the muscle, there is a higher concentration
of surfactant in the blood of women compared to men even while receiving similar doses of
substance. A larger amount of adipose tissue significantly increases the absorption of lipophilic
surfactants (PCP, marijuana) and their subsequent slow release. The action of drugs on the central
nervous system also depends significantly on the human sexual affiliation. It is connected with the
central mechanisms of neurotransmission mesocorticolimbic system in women, leading to a higher
concentration of dopamine (Scott, 2015). In conclusion, it can be said that females are less resistant
to the drugs, which leads to the faster habituation to complications when trying to overcome the
addiction.
Another aspect to highlight lies in the scopes of the development of alcohol or drug abuse is the
genetical factors of inheritance and genetic factors. Of course, there are numerous debates in the

The IRA targeted soldiers and policemen, but while doing so they killed civilians. To keep them
apart, the capital, Belfast transformed into a war zone, and walls were built to prevent the groups
from attacking each other. For many years Belfast was known as the Barricaded city . Protestants
also formed groups, which carried out attacks against Catholics. In the 1970s and 1980s,
approximately 3,000 people were killed, with many more injured. Despite the Protestants majority,
the creation of Northern Ireland did not bring security to them because it was clear that London
was never as committed to the Union as the Protestants were. The Protestant leaders assumed that
the new state could only exist if they had the power therefore they made sure that their power
should be both strong and permanent. As result they changed the voting system and the electoral
boundaries (gerrymandering). Nationalists and Catholics were considered as second class citizens,
and dangerous to the state. They were seen with being less deserving of jobs and houses than their
Protestant neighbors, they were discriminated in the public service, in education as well. The
representatives of Nationalists and Catholics were also banned from political power and influence.
In addition to being discriminated they were also complaining to the government because of the use
of special powers against republicans.

43. The Choice Of Cpu And Intel Core I7
1.0Choice of the CPUs
The choice of CPU will influence the other decisions one makes about the ability to find a
compatible motherboard, CPU cooler and (to some extent) power supply. The Intel Core i7 4820K
and the Intel Core i5 4670K can be easily differentiated. The main Characteristics of both are
explained as follows:
a) General Characteristics of Intel Core i7 4820K
1.The Operating frequency is higher in Intel i7 4820K.
2.The Intel Core i7 4820K is not locked , that is, the processor can be easily over clocked on most
motherboards for better performance.
3.This processor includes Advanced Encryption Standard technology which provides AES
encryption acceleration to secure the disk data.
4.The i7 is hyper threaded, which means that it can handle twice the amount of threads than i5,
putting it at a capacity of eight simultaneous threads. b) General Characteristics of Intel Core i5
4670K
1.The Intel Core i5 comes with higher operating frequency than the Core i7.
2.Power usage of the microprocessor is better.
3.AVX, AVX2, F16C and FMA3 instructions are included in the Core i5 4670K. These extensions
are not widely used in applications.
4.The i5 4670K combines Graphics Processing Unit that can be used for casual gaming and 3D
apps, but it is not too fast to run latest games at full resolution.
5.The i5 4670K uses The Socket 1150, which is still effectively supported by Intel.

45. Uss Indianapolis Sinking Research Paper
The USS Indianapolis sinking is a very historical event that was said to be incorrectly
documented. The Navy blamed captain McVay for the incident that occurred on July 30, 1945
when the ship was hit by two out of six torpedoes fired by the I 58, a japanese submarine. He was
blamed for the death of 879 men, was court martialed and was charged with failing to zigzag and
failure to order abandon ship in a timely manner. The men went through such a horrific event when
the ship sank. They were exposed to far to many dangers including sharks, sun exposure,
dehydration, hunger, and traumatized men that were completely moonstruck. Lets just say these
brave men went through hell and a handful made it out breathing yet, scarred. These heroic men

The attack was very uncalled for and no one was expecting such a thing. Therefore they did not

lacking equipment. When the ship sunk, they all gathered up on the emergency boat and come
to find out they believed they were going to die because of the lack of equipment. Another
reason the USS Indianapolis was unprepared was when they failed to zigzag. The captain is
required to have the ship sail in zigzag formation which gives the ship a higher chance from
getting hit by a torpedoes. The men were more optimistic than pessimistic because they did not
even think sinking was an option. They should have hoped for the best and expect the worst and
then maybe they would have decided to prepare. Kaleb Flanagan Mrs Mclelland English 1 3/10/17

Mortgage backed securities were bonds that were secured by home and other real estate loans. They
were created when a number of these loans, usually with similar characteristics, were pooled
together. As part of the housing and credit booms, the amount of financial agreements called
mortgage backed securities, which derive their value from mortgagepayments and housing prices,
greatly increased (Subprime mortgage crisis). Pools of loans were sold to federal government
agencies like Ginnie Mae or a government sponsored enterprise such as Fannie Mae or Freddie

The worst of the mortgages were packaged and tranche into bonds and got rated AAA by these
credit rating agencies. By erroneously rating these bundles of mortgage backed security payments
too highly, the credit rating agencies substantially contributed to the creation of toxic financial

business the agencies would always rate their bonds the highest possible grade of AAA.
Executives at Fannie Mae packaged both conventional and sub prime loans, while operating almost
free of government oversight. Fannie s leaders spent lavishly to hire sixty Washington lobbyists

creative financing to main street America.

Fact or Fake?
Hamlet s madness is less than madness and more than feigned . What is madness? Mad is a word
with such uncertainty that it can be stretched to mean an abundance of things more than just pure
psychological instability: a weariness of life; a suicidal impulse; a plotting charisma. In the play
Hamlet by William Shakespeare, a wild disagreement has been consequent for a series of years in
the case of the madness of Hamlet, the play s central narrative, was justifiable or feigned. As in
any decision, one must be given both sides of the controversy before making an impartial
conclusion. The case of Hamlet s madness is no exclusion. It is appropriate to say that Hamlet
may have remained sensible throughout the performance, especially in consideration of his rag
flashes of what seems to be psychological discipline and stability. However, Hamlet is perceived
as disoriented by overwhelming burst of hysteria after acquiring knowledge of his father s death,
news of Gertrude s quick remarriage, and Claudius becoming the new King. In the butt end it is up
to the scholar to determine for him or herself the psychological nature of Hamlet s madness, as it
may have been the motive of William Shakespeare, taking into review how open ended this subject
continued throughout the play.
With Hamlet s return to Denmark he is made aware of his father s death, Old King Hamlet. His
reaction to his father s death is

New Power Plants in Automobiles
Since the beginning of the automobile the power plant has been evolving. From the early days of
the steam powered vehicle to gas, diesel and hydrogen powered engines of today. The newest
power plants now are electric and electric hybrid vehicles but there is still one thing that hasn t been
completely replaced in this type of vehicle, and that is the internal combustion engine. There have
been some innovations in recent years for the internal combustion engine, but it still has a way to go.
In the early days of the automobile the steam engine was first fitted to a three wheeled vehicle,
this was quickly replaced by the internal combustion engine, for in my opinion the practical
reason of carrying fuel was easier in a liquid form rather than in the form of coal, wood and
water. But ever since that day and especially ever since the 1960 s when laws were enacted for
safety and for the environment automakers have been working to make the internal combustion
engine work better and cleaner. This has brought us engines like the Flex Fuel engine. This is an
engine that can run on gasoline but can also run on a high ethanol containing fuel. The issue with
ethanol is that it produced a lot of octane, but not a lot of mileage, but because it is made from
bio mass it is a greener form of fuel. Another way they have tried to make the engine better is
through on demand cylinders. This is where a vehicle might have a v8 engine, but only uses those

50. If Beale Street Could Talk and Sonny’s Blues by James Baldwin
In If Beale Street Could Talk and Sonny s Blues, author James Baldwin shows that embracing
suffering, rather than being trapped by it, leads to growth and enlightenment. Sonny s Blues
introduces two brothers who have differing mindsets about how to best cope with suffering. The
narrator is Sonny s responsible, unnamed older brother, who follows a very ordered path, using
military service, marriage and teaching math to gain stability and escape the downward pull of
Harlem. In contrast, younger brother Sonny lives his life like his music hero plays his jazz:
improvising. Sonny experiments with drugs, skips school and eventually drops out, all the
while feeding his obsession with piano. Sonny s older brother sees no legitimacy in Sonny s art
and aspirations to become a musician. He disparagingly deems it to be merely an excuse for the
life he led . The brothers are unable to set their differences aside, and are only reconnected in a
time of immense grief, as the brother s daughter, Grace, dies. Yet both these very different brothers
are united in experience something inevitable as human beings: suffering. Sonny seems to dive
deeper into his suffering, tapping into it as a form of expression. Older brother walls himself off
from his pain, turning negative and bitter about many aspects of his existence. In the end, Sonny s
open expression of his suffering creates a bridge between the two brothers. At the outset of the
story, the narrator mentions that Sonny read

Critical Analysis Cranium and Substance Abuse
This paper examined the age groups for learning and playing the board games as about 13 or
more. This was an important finding as the age group in which children are keen to learn and
can adapt to the teachings needs to match with the age of playing these board games. This comes
out to 13 and above. Cranium has been identified for adults by the Hasbro website how
Boardgaming.com recognizes it for kids 13 and above. Now, substance abuse as well all know
affects the brain and the need to experiment with drugs is ordered by the brain. Therefore to
combat the problem, we need to focus on games which involve a lot of brain activity. Cranium
seems to fit the example perfectly.
Cranium is defined by Webster as the skull, specifically that part of the skull which encloses the
brain however the logo used by the game Cranium depicts the soft brain tissue.
Cranium is a game involving a wide range of brain activities as the players are required to
perform the tasks as the go along the track. This game has been carefully designed to emulate the
physical activities coordinated by the brain. For instance, in the game the players are requested to
enter the Cranium circle from the fast track or move clockwise to each [activity card] deck name
or to complete the final activity in the Cranium central to win .

different clustering algorithm techniques in data mining. Clustering techniques is broadly used in
many applications such as pattern recognition, market research, image processing and data analysis.
Cluster Analysis is an excellent data mining tool for a large and multivariate database. A cluster of
data objects can be treated as one group. In clustering analysis our object is first partition the set of
data into similar data groups and then assigns labels to those groups. Clustering is a suitable
example of unsupervised classification. Keywords Data Mining; Clustering algorithms; Techniques;
(Partition, Density Based, Hierarchical, Grid Based etc )
I.INTRODUCTION
Data mining techniques are basically categorised into two major groups as Supervised learning
and Unsupervised learning. Clustering is a process of grouping the similar data sets into groups.
These groups should have two properties like dissimilarity between the groups and similarity within
the group. Clustering is covered in the unsupervised learning category. There are no predefined

On January 1st of 1993, the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act was signed to
prevent people from gambling on collegiate and professional sporting events. There has been a
fury amongst sports fans ever since because of this law. In some cases, it has even became known
as the prohibition of the 21st century. Over the last few years, there has been a strong urge about
bringing back sports gambling. There would actually be many benefits to bringing it back. The
pros of sports gambling include casino income, tax reduction, job openings, and entertainment
value. Sports betting would benefit many casinos and city governments. When sports gambling
was banned, there was a decrease in income at many casinos. With that being said, when the
casinos are not bringing in money for a city, it just means that the city officials are going to turn
to its residents to bring in money via higher taxes. At this day in age, taxes are sky high in price
and people are barely able to pay them anymore. With sports betting back in the casinos in these
cities, these issues could be fixed. Sports betting would be beneficial in terms of job openings. If

While the undocumented students are now being welcomed into our public school system, how

almost one third of the immigration population in America is undocumented (Gonzales, 2009).
Every year over 60,000 undocumented students graduate from the United States public school
system. This is where a major problem arises. Post secondary education is almost unattainable for
these students. The inability to legally work or obtain financial assistance for school in most states
makes higher education unattainable Policy makers against allowing college admission to these
students believe the post secondary education system will be overwhelmed. Those pro higher
education for the undocumented suggest that denying the students an education could potentially
hurt the economy. Also it denies the workforce access to skilled and professional workers. This
major road block has been a topic for discussion among researchers and policy makers for quite
some time. The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act allows the states
