Evaluation Of An Anonymous Questionnaire
The nurse educators of each unit will also have valuable input and would be responsible for
implementing, supporting, and enforcing the use of the checklist. Selected nurses from each unit,
along with a midlevel practitioner, should also be involved in this team to provide individualized
perspectives on what would be necessary and reasonable to be included in the checklist. Support
from these representatives of each position will further assist in successful implementation of the
project. This same team should also be responsible for gathering feedback, evaluating results, and
determining the level of success. The projected timeline for this project is six months; three months

Pump And Treat
Throughout the past few years, Fruitvale has been experiencing a severe water crisis. The banned
pesticide No Bug contaminated the north end of Fruitvale. Recently, the contaminate has been
spreading near the Fruitvale Municipal Water Well. If the water well gets contaminated, Fruitvale
would be without a reliable, clean water source. A common and safe method for contaminated water
clean up is Pump and Treat. Pump and Treat pumps groundwater from the effected wells to an
above ground treatment system. From there, the treatment system removes and contains the
contaminate plume. Containing the plume keeps the contaminate from spreading and lowering the
future possibility of causing more problems for Fruitvale. This method is time sparing and safe.
Pump and Treat is estimated to be completed in 6 to 9 months. Also, from containing the plume, no
wildlife habitats, rivers or lakes, or drinking watersources would be effected by the contaminate.
Throughout this method no harmful exposure to wildlife or humans will occur. Pump and Treat
also is a popular method. It has been selected or used by more than 800 Superfund sites across

If a Marshallese lost his/her land it was the equal to suicide. From 1946 1958 67 radioactive bombs
were tested on the northern Marshall Islands. During this time the islands environments were
devastated, some of the islands were completely vaporized. The bombs destroyed six coral
islands, obliterated natural resources and contaminated all the islands with radiation (the northern
islands are inhabitable to this day). The resources that the Marshallese were self sufficient on like
coconuts, pigs, fish, coconut crab, papaya, squash and arrowroot (staple crop) were ether
destroyed or consisted of extremely high radiation levels. The U.S. government did a great
environmental injustice for they viewed the Islanders as sub human. The subsistence of the
Marshallese Islanders health plummeted. The U.S. s Department of Energy (DOE) defined the
people as two different categories exposed and unexposed. The exposed victims were those present
during the 1954 Bravo blast. A U.S. agency named The Compact ran through the DOE determined
who is exposed and needs assistance. The Compact did not find that the thousands of islanders who
were relocated to the contaminated islands in 1958 by the U.S. to be considered exposed. These

My Family At The United States
Just like any other immigrants coming to the United States, my family was in search for a better
life. My parents both came from Asia; my dad was from China and my mom was from Japan.
Being a first generation American, I was considered Nisei. I lived in San Jose California and
stayed there my whole life. My parents were hard working people and showed me what it meant
to be truly American. I was an only child and was twelve years old when the United States was
attacked by the Japanese military. My dad owned a store and my mom helped Japanese people
come to America. She would provide temporary housing. I always remember playing with the kids
coming from Japan, I could never understand them but they were really nice. After a few months
they would pick up a few words. The neighborhood kids loved playing with them as well their
parents. Every now and then my familyand other Niseis would experience some forms of
discrimination, like waiting in lines longer at the movies, stores, and restaurants. Not to mention
that all kinds of cultures received the same treatment. But for some reason the African American
group had it a little harder than we did. After the attackon Pearl Harbor, my parents didn t let me
play outside. Our neighbors and close friends turned on us. They forbidden their children to play
with me at home and at school. At the time I didn t understand it. Also my dad would come home
earlier than usual from work. He would always tell me that he just wanted more father

Many who have had an opportunity of knowing any more about mathematics confuse it with
arithmetic, and consider it an arid science. In reality, however, it is a science which requires a great

Anna s political views influenced her sister, who saw this movement as a means to pursue her
education. The sisters decided that the only way to further their education would be for one of

This was not an unusual arrangement at the time since it was the only way to free a woman from

Liberty University Introduction: Special Education in the Individualized Education Program
Special education is a form of instruction that serves to help individual students with disabilities in
the classroom, or any other setting that is considered acceptable by the Individualized Education
Program (IEP) team. The process used to determine special education starts when either a teacher
or a parent makes a referral to have an individual student evaluated to determine if there is a
disability. Special education comes at no extra cost to the parents of the student. Gibb and Dyches
(2016), mention how students with disabilities ages 3 to 21 must be granted Free Appropriate
Public Education (FEPA), ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gibb and Dyches (2016) state, Academic achievement refers to gaining requisite skills and
knowledge for success in school (p. 47), and functional performance can be defined as applying
knowledge and skills to meet daily needs (p. 47). Reading, writing, and math are academic
achievement skills that are crucial to the students learning because they all are required for other
subjects. In contrary, functional performance involves adaptive skills such as feeding and dressing
oneself, and meeting appropriate school behaviors. Gibb and Dyches (2016) mention that the
PLAAFP statement derives from reviewing the curriculum standards for academic achievement,
determining the students current academic strengths and limitations, and assessing the students
current functional strengths and limitations (p. 48).
Measurable Annual Goals
Measurable annual goals are used to identify what the individual student is expected to achieve
within one year to address what effects the disability has caused. Gibb and Dyches (2016) define
the word measurable as the behavior stated in the goal can be observed and measured to determine
when it has been achieved (p. 60). Therefore, in order to be considered a measurable academic and
functional performance goal the goal must be able to be measured, must meet the individual student
needs that are in relation to the disability and cause problems within the general education
curriculum, and must also meet any other additional

The Pros And Cons Of Offshore Drilling
Offshore drilling is a topic of extreme debate and argument and one of the most debated parts of
that is whether or not it benefits the economy in the U.S. One of the first things to note is that
stopping offshore drilling could potentially damage the U.S. economy, and therefore how much
energy we can overall use. According to Mason, Joseph R., author of, The Oil Industry Supports
Many Louisiana and Gulf Region Economies , we can see the statement, the moratorium would
produce broad economic losses within the Gulf and throughout the nation as a whole . We can
gather, from this, that ceasing offshore drilling/offshore oil production, could potentially harm the
U.S. economy, and as I said before the economy being damaged overall decides... Show more

Those that argue against the statement that offshore drilling benefits the economy say that the
potential damage from the BP blowout had the costs estimated at $2.2 billion with the highest
possible adjustments, paraphrased from the paper written by Bailey, Ronald, titled Offshore
Drilling Remains a Risk worth Economy . Contrary to what the title states, just by looking at the
summary of a passage from the text, it s clear that offshore drilling can really hurt the economy
through damaging the environment, and that it is not a sound decision to continue because of
the chance of a spill. The second point they argue against is whether or not offshore drilling
really lowers energy prices in the U.S. From the article written by Hassett, Kevin A., titled
Offshore Drilling Will Lower Energy Prices , a quote from President Barrack Obama is
referenced, Offshore drilling would not lower gas prices today, it would not lower gas prices five
years from now. President Barrack Obama. The president believes that energy prices will not lower
because of offshore drilling even in the future. The third and final point that some would argue
against, is offshore

General Conception Of Prejudice And Prejudice
The presence of stereotypes and prejudices existed from a long time ago along with the human
history partially often deeply integrated with religion or social status. In 21st century, people are
facing with many different stereotypes and prejudices either directly or indirectly. Stereotype is a
generalized belief or assumption towards some specific groups or people by the defined attributes
or characteristics. Stereotyping can foster prejudiceand shape people s point of views and
behaviors of ourselves and others. People measure the implicit and explicit prejudices such as
linguistic bias or the income inequality. Some theories with respect to researching this long
lasting phenomenon have been raised their awareness of the difference between the traditional
prejudice and the contemporary prejudice. To put it differently, the transition of empirical
theories of prejudice has been evolved from the blatant and overt form to the subtle and
symbolic form. One of the biggest traits of the modern prejudice is hard to catch or notice so that
even the prejudice holders are not aware of what they are performing. In this essay, I am going to
address the general conception of prejudice using social categorization theory and dive in more
details about specific types of prejudice as the essay goes further.
In general, people interact or communicate with each other in many ways. They use a mixture of
verbal and nonverbal methods to deliver their messages accurately and effectively.

Bldc Motor Advantages And Disadvantages
CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 BLDC MOTORS: BLDC motors are a type of synchronous
motor. This means the magnetic field generated by the stator and the magnetic field generated by
the rotor rotate at the same frequency. BLDC motors do not experience the slip that is normally
seen in induction motors. BLDC motors come in single phase, 2 phase and 3 phase configurations.
Corresponding to its type, the stator has the same number of windings. Out of these, 3 phase motors
are the most popular and widely used. Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors are one of the
motor types rapidly gaining popularity. BLDC motors are used in industries such as Appliances,
Automotive, Aerospace, Consumer, Medical, Industrial Automation Equipment and
Instrumentation. As the name implies, BLDC motors do not use brushes for commutation; instead,
they are electronically commutated. BLDC motors have many advantages over brushed DC
motors and induction motors. A few of these are: Better speed versus torque characteristics High
dynamic response High efficiency Long operating life Noiseless operation Higher speed ranges In
addition, the ratio of torque delivered to the size of the motor is higher,... Show more content on

The commutation in DC machine or more specifically commutation in DC generator is the process
in which generated alternating current in the armature winding of a dc machine is converted into
direct current after going through the commutator and the stationary brushes. The commutation is
called ideal if the commutation process or the reversal of current is completed by the end of the
short circuit time or the commutation period. If the reversal of current is completed during the
short circuit time then there is sparking occurs at the brush contacts and the commutator surface is
damaged due to overheating and the machine is called poorly

Budgeting and Its Types
Budget
A budget is a detailed plan of operations that is predetermined for a particular period. Budgets are
quantitative or financial statements prepared for the purpose of attaining a particular objective. It is
listing of all expenses and incomes i.e. planning them in advance to meet certain circumstances. In
other terms, a budget is an organizational plan stated in monetary terms.
It is a plan that outlines an organization s financial and operational goals. So a budget may be
thought of as an action plan. Planning a budget helps a business allocate resources, evaluate
performance, and formulate plans.

Phases of Management Control.
[pic]
Strategic planning identifies the products a company intends to develop, projects which
management intend to pursue to meet the organization s overall goals. Budgets are derived from
these and are specified in terms of a manager s responsibility.
Operating and measurement is the collecting of actual costs and outcomes identified to both
programmes and responsibility centres. Finally, reporting and analysis takes place as a basis for
control to the budget, for the co ordination of activities and as a basis for future decisions perhaps
to change the original plan.
Budgets as they are generally understood form the cornerstone of management control and the
management control system; they are a multi purpose management tool supporting planning,
control, co ordination, communication, performance evaluation and motivation.
Planning
The budget ensures that managers have thought ahead about how they will utilise resources to
achieve company policy in their area.
Control
Once a budget is formulated a regular reporting system can be established so that the extent to

What It Means To Wood Privacy Fence
Wood privacy fences are an important component of a house especially one in the urban
community. A well chosen and appropriately designed fence affords homeowners the pleasure of
enjoying their private space without necessarily giving the impression of being an unfriendly
neighbor. You don t even have to fence the entire perimeter of the house
. In some cases, even just
short sections of fencing in your propertycan already give you a semblance of solitude and
discourage curious onlookers.
Keeping in mind the style and landscaping design of one s area, there are many fencing options
to choose from. Wood privacy fences make for some of the best privacy fences and come in a
variety of styles and materials. Vinyl fencing is also a suitable and cheaper alternative, or you can
opt for a more natural look with the use of greens shrubs and trees.

Improving The Lives Of Adult Learners Essay
Using Screencast o matic in UMUC s Undergraduate Writing Program
University of Maryland University College has the mission of improving the lives of adult
learners (UMUC, 2016). In the Undergraduate School, the writing program contributes to this
mission by providing helping students meet their academic and professional goals through
writing instruction. Adult learners lead busy lives. They typically are balancing school with
other responsibilities such as work and family. Therefore, the writing program seeks technology
that helps students succeed being quick and easy to use. It is also beneficial if the technology
can be used in mobile platforms, as busy adult students might be completing school related tasks
while on the go. Screencast o matic creates screen capture videos, or screencasts, and can be
beneficial for all students taking courses in UMUC s writing program. Courses in the writing
program incorporate a process of drafting and revision, in which instructors provide feedback on
drafts of written work, and then students are tasked with revising their work based on that
feedback. Course format is either fully online or hybrid. In either case, students submitting papers
and receive feedback online. It is proposed that screencasts created with Screencast o matic be one
method by which all UMUC writing instructors provide feedback on student drafts.

When he would visit us he would still appear at least partially optimistic, commenting that The
world does not seem ready to take action yet, but it will. In the meantime, the Iraqis will tire of
this game soon enough and leave. Here, again, the opposite seemed true. As time passed, the Iraqis

Their Eyes Were Watching God
This novel Their Eyes Were Watching God is written by Zora Neale Hurston , and the story takes
place in the city Eatonville, Florida in the twentieth century. The first chapter of this story is written
in a third person which is omniscient, and Janie is the narrator in the remaining chapters. The third

This novel includes lots of motifs, but a very important motif is the Janie s long hair that develop
the themes gender and racism. Janie s hair kind of symbolizes her power and strength against the

The first light flooded a tsunami in her eyes. She slowly opened them in order to minimize the
irritation. It was pointless because Dolores had realized it was impossible to avoid another day.
All she wanted to do was stay in her warm linen haven of a bed. But, She knew the moment she

ripped through her, but she did not respond nor react, she could not let it win. Walking down the

Ralph Waldo Emerson Beliefs
During the Transcendentalist movement, Ralph Waldo Emerson s famous quote in his booklet,
Nature, gave a lot of insight on the identity of the human race. His quote, A man is a god in ruins
indicates a sense of the fallen nature, and really emphasizes our faults and our limits, and many
authors during this time person also seemed to follow this philosophy. In Ralph Waldo Emersons
other work, Self Reliance, he is also able to capture this same essence from text to text. In addition
to Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Nathaniel Hawthorneand Herman Melville all follow the same
philosophy in their own respective texts. The reader is able to see a common theme consistently
throughout Self Reliance, Economy (in Walden), The Artist of the Beautiful and Bartleby the
Scrivener and Benito Cereno. Throughout each of these texts, the reader essentially focuses on how
the nature of the human race focuses on how we are more than ordinary stone ruins, but we are
lesser than Gods. The optimism of Emerson s quote exploring the nature of the human person is
depicted in their own way and different writing style throughout all of these different texts. In Ralph
Waldo Emerson s booklet, Nature, his quote A man is a god in ruins, is famously known coming
from the Transcendentalist movement. Emerson stays on the same theme about the human race in
his text, Self Reliance. Emerson is extremely insistent on the human race to be themselves and their
own individual. He reflects how easy it is

Sara Teasdale s Life and Accomplishments
The work of Sara Teasdale captured the hearts of many Americans through her lyrical simplicity
and delicate craftsmanship on the major themes of love, beauty, and death. Her poetry was often
quoted, parodied, and set to music by the public. They awarded her the Columbia University
Society Prize and the PoetrySociety of America Prize in 1918 for her poem collection title Love

His death further affected her and two years later, she committed suicide herself with an overdose
of sleeping pills.
Teasdale s success as a lyrical poet depended on her talent to convert her struggle of unifying
incompatible desires into work that her audience could relate to. Her use of metaphors, similes,
and personification enabled her to generalize her feelings so that her words would not be too
specific to her situation. Braithwaite claims, Her poems are brief, alluring and simple in
expression . . . Love is her great theme. In her poem, Like Barley Bending, Teasdale compares her
heartache to the annual crop: Like barley bending And rising again, So would I, unbroken, Rise
from pain; (5 8).
The audience is able to compare Teasdale frailty to the barley and relate to her weakness. They are
also able to relate to Teasdale s perseverance to rise from pain. Bogan describes Teasdale s use of
figurative language, Its effects are based upon a true subtle and naГЇve ear, and upon intensity
rather than complexity of emotion. She succeeds in simplifying the complexity of her emotions but
still keeping the intensity of her longing, which the audience can relate to. Teasdale s four stanza
poem, New Love and Old characterizes love as a ghost walking through the night. She personifies
the things her lover used to tell, saying they Ranged themselves reproachfully / Round

How The Knutford Council Should Be Limited For Other Small...
In determining what response the Knutford Council should take in addressing the inappropriate
usage of electric hover boards on footpaths and in skate parks as well as the issue of hover board
hacking that permits hover boards to be used at higher speeds than intended by the manufacturer,
the first step is to determine the extent of the regulatory domain. Regulatory sphere or domain is the
answer to the question of who would be affected by the regulationof hover board usage in Knutford
and who would be administering the intended regulation. It also answers why and how we would be
embarking on the intended regulation and what said regulation would entail.
Though the Knutford council have identified hover boards as the most pertinent ... Show more

In this regard a broader scope of regulation that encompasses the use of all small motorized
recreational vehicles on footpaths may be a more responsive form of regulation that would adapt to
the inevitable changes in technological trends. However, this expansion to cover all small
motorized vehicles may inadvertently affect the usage of other non recreational small motorized
vehicles such as electronic wheelchairs on footpaths. Other small electronically powered vehicles
that are not intended for recreational use do not present the same concerns identified by the
Knutford Council as problematic. Expanding the scope of regulation beyond Hoverboards thus
presents the risk of overregulation and risks affecting a population that was initially not targeted
and reducing social welfare overall.
In addition to the above there are further questions on the appropriate regulatory scope. Though the
regulatory issue at hand is currently presented as a local problem that affects the residents of
Knutford and its surrounding areas, Hoverboard technology is one that has been adopted at national
and international levels. The use of Hoverboards would therefore not be limited to only Knutford
and the concerns raised may apply across the board. It is therefore not inappropriate to consider that
any directive or regulation should have universal application across the nation. Again, though
limiting the issue to Knutford and its surrounding areas may present a regulatory

Analysis of the Article The Flip Side of Internet Fame
CONTEMPORARY COMMUNICATIONS THE NARCISSISM CONNECTION Introduction In
her 2008 article, The Flip Side of Internet Fame, Jessica Bennett explores some of the problems
created by the nature of the Internet in connection with the consequences of publicly released
information in the digital age. She details the account of a teenager whose life was affected very
adversely by someone else s choice to post an embarrassing video of him without his permission.
She also outlines some of the problems attributable to the fact that information posted online is not
subject to any filter for accuracy, fairness, or appropriateness. Public posting forums allow the
publication of defamatory statements about others with much fewer protections afforded by laws
applicable to other types of injurious and untrue communications about others. The issues raised by
Bennett illustrate that the Internet is still in its infancy in terms of how it is best integrated into
society and regulated by the same ethical, social, and legal principles as traditional forms of
communications. It is likely that the solution lies, not in the evolution of regulations or in
limitations on free speech; rather, the solution is likely to evolve naturally as subsequent
generations develop a better and more nearly comprehensive understanding of how to integrate their
offline and online identities in ways that maintain their privacy. Meanwhile, the deeper explanation

Moreover, the frontal lobe of the brain is playing an essential role in controlling individual s
behavior, but the sad is it can only develop up to an age of 20. If children s frontal lobe is
underdeveloped or damaged, the things they do will be always improper, but in contrast if the
frontal lobe is stimulated, its fibrous tissue will grow and get thick that will help a lot on keeping
their behavior in order. Video games stunt the development of the frontal lobe in brain, which is
very harmful to next generation of a nation. Video games also have negative impacts on other
parts of brain which are responsible for sensory, emotion and visual perception. A Strong impulse
of sound and light in video games can directly divert the children s attention. In order to achieve an
attractive effect, video games are often colorful and stereotyped. When there is too much stimulus
on visual and auditory, the children s sensory function will be attenuated and sluggish to react.
Additionally, many people argued that there is a direct connection between children playing

children were tested and they are separated by three to six months. The purpose of this experiment

Why Is It Important To Get A Scholarship
Bo Bennett once said, A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward the achievement.
Generally speaking, everyone has dreams that they want to obtain someday, but those will never
come true if they don t do anything. For the most part, there is a variety of goals someone can
have. Some people want to be celebrities, professional athletes, doctors, lawyers, and some people
don t know exactly what they want. I personally want a promising future. Most of my education
has been developing for something better. For example, I went to preschool to be prepared for
elementary school, which prepared me for middle school. In a few years I ll go to high school
which will prepare me for college. Everything I do in school leads up to one thing. That one
thing for me is getting a scholarship to William and Mary. Achieving that goal is something I
have aspired for, would make things easier for my family and I, and would make my future more
clear. Getting a scholarship is something I have aspired for, and having that goal makes me work

The future is the most uncertain undetermined thing that I can think of. Reasonably, anything can
happen tomorrow. Maybe I ll get in a horrible accident and my brain will never be the same, or
maybe something awful will happen and I won t be able to find a reason to bother with going to
college or planning my future for that matter but the truth is, having this plan makes me feel more
prepared. Think about if no one had a plan. Even the smallest things need to planned out. Goals are
plans. When someone wants something to come true so badly then it s a plan. If I didn t try to
achieve my goal then I would be unsure on where my future would go after high school. Of course
just having a goal doesn t make everything absolute, but it gives you an idea, and that s how
everything starts. Although nothing is certain in anyone s future, having a goal can never hurt

Jane Birkin had this to say about the origin of the handbag named after her:
I remember it well. I d been upgraded by Air France on a flight to London, and was sitting next to
a man. I m not quite sure what type of bag I had with me my husband, Jacques Doillon, had
reversed his car over my basket, crushed it on purpose not two days before. Little did he know
that on this airplane journey, when everything fell out of whatever bag I had, the man next to me
said: You should have one with pockets . I said: The day HermГЁs make one with pockets I will
have that , and he said: But I am HermГЁs and I will put pockets in for you .
That man was the late Jean Louis Dumas, then chief executive of HermГЁs. They began to
sketch ideas for the bag on an Air France sick bag. In exchange for giving her the bag for free, he
asked that he be able to name the bag after her, so that it may be associated with her popularity

story serves as a creation myth, making the handbag seem sacred and divine due to the
serendipitous encounter that birthed it. The Birkin is handmade in France, a process which takes
between 18 and 20 hours per bag depending on the craftsperson s level of experience. The handle
alone takes four hours to make (Groat). HermГЁs sources its cow and calf hides from Tanneries

Shakespeare s plays are well known for the richness of their imagery. This is particularly true in
Macbeth and the many allusions to blood. The use of blood imagery gives the reader some

is used to represent heroics on the battlefield, evil and murderous inclinations, and ultimately guilt
and shame. Shakespeare uses the symbol of blood to give the readers insight into his characters

Through the looking glass Macbeth seems as bloody as he could be, yet at the core he feels

In the beginning of the play blood is represented of honor and bravery and symbolizes good and

Rhetorical Analysis Of Cheryl Merril s Singing Like Ymac
In Singing Like Yma Sumac (2005), Cheryl Merril utilizes various rhetorical techniques in order to
provide the reader with the idea that there is music in vocalization of both humans and elephants.
Merrill shows this by comparing the elephant to Yma Sumac, a famous singer with a wide range of
vocal abilities. The author compares humans with elephants in order to communicate that elephants
and humans aren t that different. Merrill addresses people who like animals by sharing a personal
anecdote in an appreciative way. Merrill breaks down this abstract idea to explain the idea of
communication in music, and then condenses it from a scientific standpoint. Providing the reader
with not only the physics of sound, but also the anatomical structure of an elephant which makes

Many people today are often amazed by the amount of nutrition and health information required for
humans. The constant stream of genetic modification of food can be confusing. Genetically
modified (GM) foods are plants and animals that have had their genetic makeup artificially altered
by scientists to make them grow faster, taste better, last longer and to provide more nutrients.
Scientists make these alternations by transferring genes from one organism into another in order to
change the condition or character of the receiving organism. This process is known as
biotechnology or genetic engineering(GE), and it has revolutionized the way that agriculture is

Companies and researchers alternate the genetic structure of crops to withstand pesticides, non GM
weeds and insects can gradually develop a resistance to the chemicals. At this point farmers
actually have to increase their use of pesticides. These practice causes weed populations to adapt to
the herbicide and eventually become resistant to it. Once these superweeds emerge farmers must
find a new herbicides and more potent products.
People who support GM foods dismiss complaints that they might not be safe to eat. GM foods are
likely to be more nutritious and contain smaller amounts of pesticide residues that foods raised by
traditional farming methods. Food poisoning agents such as salmonella are natural and they kill
thousands of people each year. Lots of plants produce powerful toxins to deter pests. With the

producers to make.

When a law enforcement officer begins his or her job, they are sworn to uphold the laws of The
United States and the State of which they serve. For most people, that seems like a basic task.
However, once the officer begins the job, they understand that it is a lot more complicated than just
reading a book and determining if the elements of a crimeoccurred, then taking the appropriate
enforcement action. An experienced law enforcement officer knows when it is appropriate to
enforce laws based on the letter of the law or the spirit of the law.
Enforcing laws based on the spirit of the law and the letter of the law both contain the same
essential elements. A person violates a written rule or law. Many of these statutes are written with

This officer will often consider the circumstances of the cause of the infraction, and base the
enforcement action on not just the elements of the violation, but also the reason the violation
occurred. Many times, an officer acting under the spirit of the law will allow a minor violation to
continue with little to no enforcement action. An officer acting under the spirit of the law may only
flash their lights at a driver who is slightly above the posted speed limit, and when that speed does
constitute more than the quick flash, the officer may initiate a stop and issue a warning. While this
approach can be effective against a negative view of the officer and his/her agency within the
community, if used too often, the community may build a belief that the negative behavior is
acceptable, as such, the behavior will continue.
A well rounded officer can find an appropriate balance between enforcing laws based on the letter
of the law and the spirit of the law. Without this balance, the officer will neither be an effective
officer nor will his agency be able to provide the citizens of their community with the appropriate
level of service that they

first degree murder in Wichita, Kansas. He committed those crimes between 1974 and 1991. The
acronym BTK stands for blind, torture, and kill. Soon after each incident, he sent anonymous letters
to the police and taunting them by offering knowledge of the killings. Dennis Raderwas reported to
have tortured a Puerto Rican family, the Oteros in their home (Vigliotti, 2015). In court, he testified
that from the torture, he took one of the daughters, Josephine Otero to the basement and tortured
her while ejaculating on her. He also testified having sexual please while torturing the rest of the

On December 8, 1977, he murdered Nancy Fox, a jewelry store worker inside her home as he
followed her to her house and cutting her phone line before he broke into her house (Vigliotti,
2015). He parked his car a few blocks away and confirmed she wasn t home. Nancy Fox
confronted Dennis Rader and remained remarkably calm when she saw him and let him touch her.
He threw her in bed and strangled her. After that he let the police know about her murderby calling
them and misspelled the word homicide with home a side along with her address and name. He
was also known to be a mentally deficient person. He had a very low IQ and failed all his classes
in high school (Vigliotti, 2015). Ironically speaking, Dennis Rader besides of being a serial
killer, was the President of the congregation at his Lutheran Church. He sent a floppy disk to his
pastor, Michael Clark who later inserted it into his computer and showed a lot of evidence
recorded that Dennis Rader was indeed the BTK killer that was behind those murders. The pastor
was then stunned and told the rest of the congregation of Dennis Rader. Mr. Rader also sent another
disk to the police giving them hints about the murder (Vigliotti,

Chief Walton Eager Case Study
Upon reviewing the required case study, the facts and concerns of the study are easily
recognizable. The first fact is that Chief Walton Eager experience before becoming chief was in
the department he currently runs (Cordner, 2016). Also, according to the reading he also
apparently possesses some people skills. Next, since receiving the appointment, he posts new policy
and procedure on a bulletin board to let his department know about desired guidelines. Additionally,
the majority of the officers at the Rixton PoliceDepartment use service style policing, and perform
ethically and professionally. However, there is a small number of officers that believe in aggressive
law enforcement rather than serving the public. Consequently, these set of facts listed in the case
study present an enormous amount of problems for the Rixton community.
Although Chief Eager is technically implementing new policies and procedures in the department,
he is failing to ensure that his officers understand (Cordner, 2016). The study does not refer Chief
Eager ensuring that his supervisors understand the new policies, nor ensuring that they will
implement and enforce them. When an administrator fails to confirm that new mandates are
recognized and followed, stress and cliques are imminent in the ... Show more content on

The two factions appear as though they are spending more time on worry about the other, than
actually performing their duties. Thus, there is an internal divide that is creating strife and reducing

excessive force incident by the militaristic portion could ruin the image of those attempting to

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Hyperplasia
Estrogen vs Progestrone
Estrogen ( the female sex hormone ) dominance happens when there is too much estrogen in the
body . For most cancers the first clinical screening involves testing of estrogen dominance .
Generally estrogen dominance is coupled with decrease in the hormone progesterone. Our body
produces both but because of various reasons there is a disturbance .When we are stressed it
affects our nervous system and along with our endocrine system. Our body produces both but once
there is a disturbance and if we continue taking estrogen rich foods we will disrupt the endocrine
system more and this can cause the risk of cancer.
Xenoestrogen / Phytoestrogen means foreign estrogen or from outside the body.
In my case I believe excess of estrogen could have been the cause of Adenomyosis or at least it can
aggravate the situation so would recommend avoiding products with xenoestrogen and including

Hyperplasia is a condition in which the lining of the uterus becomes too thick, which results in
abnormal bleeding. Hyperplasia is thought to be caused by too much estrogen.
Depending on your age and how long you have had hyperplasia, your doctor may want to do a
biopsy before beginning treatment to rule out cancer.
How is hyperplasia treated?
Hormone treatment with birth control pills or progesterone helps some women who have
hyperplasia.
Hysterectomy is often recommended to treat hyperplasia. Because some types of hyperplasia can
lead to cancer, your doctor will watch your condition carefully if you choose not to have a

How Sport Has Changed My Life
Introduction: FГ№tbol or soccer, it doesn t matter the way you say it, although what it has done
for us as humans is very significant. For me soccer is everything I play it, watch it, and talk
about it, the sport has led my life since I first gained interest towards it in grade four. There must
be a reason why it the most watched sport in the world, it brings everyone in the world together
no matter what race, nationality, or gender. Ever since grade six I have been trying to encourage
soccer into my projects for school, I haven t had a chance of properly incorporating my true
passion. This is until now, the first time I ever heard of the personal project was the first time I
came to Carson Graham. Our school in grade seven brought us to this massive school in which
we had no clue about why we were actually there. The first presentation I saw was someone who
built a robot that could follow lights for direction. The thought that I had to do this project in
grade ten scared me, I had no clue what I really wanted to do. This was until I started thinking
about it more and one thought came into my mind, that was to create Goal Line Technology.
This form of technology was quite new at the time, this was because they just announced that
they were going to start using it in one of the top five leagues in Europe, the first league to
incorporate it was the Barclay s Premier League. My project goal was to create a fully working
demo of Goal Line Technology. At first I was scared that I

important to take a detailed approach when evaluating the insurance options that are available.

where people are unsure about their coverage. The answer to these questions will provide the
clarity necessary to make an educated decision when choosing the motorcycle insurance that will be

How is Insuring a Motorcycle Different than Insuring a Car?
Risk
The most prevalent difference between insuring a motorcycle verses a car is the risk variable.
There are simply different types of risks associated with riding a motorcycle. The unique risks
associated with riding a motorcycle must be accounted for in the type of coverage that will be

Other variables include the difference in the vehicles and the presence of safety mechanisms, or the
lack thereof.
Is It a Good Idea to Buy Collision Coverage if I Own an Older Bike?

This puts into doubt the efficiency and effectiveness of the official crimes statistics. Crimes are
unreported for various reasons; some of the reasons why committed towards certain minority groups
are unreported is because of the distrust and faith in the police force, language barriers and fear of
repercussions from the offender. Certain minority groups include, ethnic people, people with
disability, woman, youth, homeless and indigenous. The Crime Victim Survey s uncovers the Dark
Figure of crime and victimisation, it acknowledges the victim and it also explains about the
limitations and strengths of recording and reporting crimes. For a crime to be recorded there are
three stages that must be delivered. The first is that a person must identify that a crime has been
committed, the offender who is committing the crime must been seen by another person. Secondly,
the police or others to whom the crime has been reported must accept that the action has been done
against the law, or that law has been broken in the act. Thirdly, the crime must be reported to the
relevant authorities either by the one who has observed the crime being committed or the person
who committed it. If one fails then the crime is unrecognized, although other members of the public
may have noticed or heard about a crime and could be

The Positive Effects Of Dance-Movement Therapy And Depression
Dance movement therapy can be beneficial to those who participate in it as there are many
different physical, emotional, mental advantages. In an experiment conducted by Mehibe
Akandere and Banu Demir, it was found that dance movement therapy, which is many times
referred to as simply dance, has a positive impact on the mental maturation of youth enduring
depression at a low degree. This is important because many teens in today s world suffer or have
suffered from some type of depression. The authors of this article published this article in 2011,
and claim that dance dispassionately helps the advancements which support medical objectives,
influences delight to appear without anyone else s input, and increase the correspondence, giving
an escape approach to nervousness and anger. Dance movement therapy is comprised of music
and physical activities; therefore, it appeals to those who have interest in music as well. Dance is
considered a drugless treatment to depression that is not at a high level, the authors say. Clearly,
there is more to dance than just what meets the eye. Furthermore, the authors even recommend
dance to young people that struggle with depression, if it is not very severe. Dance can have a
major positive effect on depression as well.
Dance is not limited to resolving depression, however. According to Anna E. Olvera, dance can be
an outlet for emotional articulation, stress decrease, and creativity. Olvera conducted a literature
review to provide evidence for why dance is a good form of exercise, and claims that dancing is a
much better and more beneficial form of physical activity for numerous adolescent girls, as
opposed to sports. Cultural dance is a non customary physical activity that also has a positive
effect on group well being, identified with both physical and mental health. Furthermore,
according to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, aerobic activity is physical activity
that moves your large muscles, such as those in your arms and legs. dance is also a form aerobic

Childhood Poverty In The United States
Childhood poverty is a pervasive problem in the United States. Unfortunately, many children are
affected by poverty, with young children being the most vulnerable. Some of the causes of poverty
include lack of education, family composition, immigration, and unemployment. The government
can help in many ways by promoting marriageand free and reduced school lunch programs. Poverty
is a social problem because it s widespread. People do not have the acquired skills needed to
succeed in today s society. Childhood poverty is even more challenging because children cannot
help themselves and the solutions must come from social change in order to have a significant

I myself, have been fortunate enough to have many of my needs met and know that I am lucky. As
an adopted child, I was lucky enough to be removed from poverty at an early age. My birth parents

In the past, Charles Brace took on the problem of child poverty in the 19th century New York
City. Brace was a Yale graduate who was shocked by centers of crime and misery (Olasky,1994,

Brideshead Revisited Essay
There is a snake in Eden; corruption in paradise. To what extent do you agree that the Brideshead
estate embodies a corrupted paradise in the novel? June 2010 Within the context of pastoral
literature, change is typically seen as a destructive force, intrinsic with the movement away from a
harmony with the natural world towards modernisation and corruption. In Brideshead Revisitedthe
same pattern appears to be followed; moving from the peaceful harmony of Sebastian and Charles
life in Oxford into corruption and turmoil or the shifting power balance between the social classes,
from the nobility to the lower classes. However, change is not exclusively a negative force in the
novel.

Waugh describes their first encounter with the girls at May Mayfield s as a sickly child and
Death s Head , names foreshadowing the downfall and deterioration that will result. It is as a result
of this night that Sebastian is arrested and tried for drunk driving, and introduces them to the
realities of adult life. It is because of this episode that the Marchmain family are shamed in the
newspaper, perhaps worsening Lady Marchmains over reaction to Sebastian s drinking later in the
novel. This illustrates clearly how even in these youthful days that Charles cherishes so much, there
was chaos which corrupted the serene life with Sebastian which he chooses not to dwell on.
Waugh presents corruption in terms of the hierarchy of society, with the nobility exclusively
privileged to positions of power, as nought but as negative through his portrayal of Hooper.
Charles states in the prologue that Hooper is a symbol to me of Young Britain ; notably Hooper
is not presented as an overly inspiring, promising or likeable character. The use of young has
connotations of the working class were just coming of age and beginning to have the means to
hold positions of power and influence, as well as suggesting a major change in the Britain; an old
way of life has been left to be replaced by a new one. It could be argued that Charles is presenting
the traditional world as being corrupted with the changing, modernised world.

Smallpox Effects On American Soldiers
The Spanish soldiers didn t just bring sharp, damaging weapons, but also pain and suffering in the
form of plague and disease. The most significant of these tragic disease were most definitely
smallpox, measles and the mumps. Smallpox is a crowd disease. Once it strikes a low density
population it soon becomes extinct in that population as it does not have enough hosts. Thus, in
American Indian populations, smallpoxwould strike, the population would plummet, and the
disease would die out. The population would begin to recover and about a generation later,
smallpox would strike again (Navajo, December 2009). All three had devastating effects and took
millions of lives. Records dating back to the 1500 s confirm that there was a terrible smallpox
epidemic immediately after the Spanish had arrived.

The Persecution And Assassination Of Jean Paul Marat
In The Persecution and Assassination of Jean Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the
Asylum of Charenton under the Direction of the Marquis De Sade, Peter Weiss placed a historic
revolutionary setting inside of a chaotic insane asylum. Sex and violence dominate revolution,
madness blends with reason, and political ideologies battle head to head while the plot unfolds.
Marat/Sadefocuses on a play authored by the Marquis de Sadeinside of the play itself. Weiss,
writing in the voice of Sade, could not ignore the sexual perversions of the historical figure, which
allowed for the shocking violence and sexualization that can be found within the play. Under the
inflated political rhetoric among the two leading ideologists, Jean Paul Maratand the Marquis de
Sade, the story is one about the French Revolution. Specifically, Marat/Sade tells the story of the
murder of Marat by Charlotte Corday.
Sade s characterization of Corday as the sexualized female begins with the Herald s introduction
of her. His description predominately includes her physical features. Her phenomenally
pulchritudinous appearance includes stylish shoes and a cloth around her neck. Only a thin veil
covers her otherwise exposed breasts. These images appear in the first introduction of Corday
and create conflict for the woman portraying her, as well as affect Sade s character of Corday in
her carrying out of the plot to kill Marat. However, the effect on the latter is not a negative one.

In order to implement this project, nurses from both units must be convinced, committed, motivated, educated, and inspired to accept the need for the change and to work to bring about that change. Initially, nurses will be made aware of upcoming changes via email relaying general information regarding the need for improvement; e.g. increased numbers of readmissions to CVICU or increases in incident reports related to inappropriate and unsafe patient transfers. Periodic staff meetings will also be used to communicate updates on the project and request feedback. These meetings will also give the team a chance to designate emerging leaders who will be instrumental in implementing and supporting the project. • 4. Pump And Treat Throughout the past few years, Fruitvale has been experiencing a severe water crisis. The banned pesticide No Bug contaminated the north end of Fruitvale. Recently, the contaminate has been spreading near the Fruitvale Municipal Water Well. If the water well gets contaminated, Fruitvale would be without a reliable, clean water source. A common and safe method for contaminated water clean up is Pump and Treat. Pump and Treat pumps groundwater from the effected wells to an above ground treatment system. From there, the treatment system removes and contains the contaminate plume. Containing the plume keeps the contaminate from spreading and lowering the future possibility of causing more problems for Fruitvale. This method is time sparing and safe. Pump and Treat is estimated to be completed in 6 to 9 months. Also, from containing the plume, no wildlife habitats, rivers or lakes, or drinking watersources would be effected by the contaminate. Throughout this method no harmful exposure to wildlife or humans will occur. Pump and Treat also is a popular method. It has been selected or used by more than 800 Superfund sites across America.... If a Marshallese lost his/her land it was the equal to suicide. From 1946 1958 67 radioactive bombs were tested on the northern Marshall Islands. During this time the islands environments were devastated, some of the islands were completely vaporized. The bombs destroyed six coral islands, obliterated natural resources and contaminated all the islands with radiation (the northern islands are inhabitable to this day). The resources that the Marshallese were self sufficient on like coconuts, pigs, fish, coconut crab, papaya, squash and arrowroot (staple crop) were ether destroyed or consisted of extremely high radiation levels. The U.S. government did a great environmental injustice for they viewed the Islanders as sub human. The subsistence of the Marshallese Islanders health plummeted. The U.S. s Department of Energy (DOE) defined the people as two different categories exposed and unexposed. The exposed victims were those present during the 1954 Bravo blast. A U.S. agency named The Compact ran through the DOE determined who is exposed and needs assistance. The Compact did not find that the thousands of islanders who were relocated to the contaminated islands in 1958 by the U.S. to be considered exposed. • 6. My Family At The United States Just like any other immigrants coming to the United States, my family was in search for a better life. My parents both came from Asia; my dad was from China and my mom was from Japan. Being a first generation American, I was considered Nisei. I lived in San Jose California and stayed there my whole life. My parents were hard working people and showed me what it meant to be truly American. I was an only child and was twelve years old when the United States was attacked by the Japanese military. My dad owned a store and my mom helped Japanese people come to America. She would provide temporary housing. I always remember playing with the kids coming from Japan, I could never understand them but they were really nice. After a few months they would pick up a few words. The neighborhood kids loved playing with them as well their parents. Every now and then my familyand other Niseis would experience some forms of discrimination, like waiting in lines longer at the movies, stores, and restaurants. Not to mention that all kinds of cultures received the same treatment. But for some reason the African American group had it a little harder than we did. After the attackon Pearl Harbor, my parents didn t let me play outside. Our neighbors and close friends turned on us. They forbidden their children to play with me at home and at school. At the time I didn t understand it. Also my dad would come home earlier than usual from work. He would always tell me that he just wanted more father ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The sisters decided that the only way to further their education would be for one of them to marry so they could both travel abroad. This was not an unusual arrangement at the time since it was the only way to free a woman from her parents authority. The sisters decided that Anna should partake in the fictitious marriage since she was older. However, when the intended husband, nihilist Vladimir Onufrievich Kovalevsky, a publisher of political and scientific works, met the sisters, he was more interested in Sonya because of her intellectual achievements. The process used to determine special education starts when either a teacher or a parent makes a referral to have an individual student evaluated to determine if there is a disability. Gibb and Dyches (2016) state, Academic achievement refers to gaining requisite skills and knowledge for success in school (p. 47), and functional performance can be defined as applying knowledge and skills to meet daily needs (p. 47). Reading, writing, and math are academic achievement skills that are crucial to the students learning because they all are required for other subjects. In contrary, functional performance involves adaptive skills such as feeding and dressing oneself, and meeting appropriate school behaviors. Gibb and Dyches (2016) mention that the PLAAFP statement derives from reviewing the curriculum standards for academic achievement, determining the students current academic strengths and limitations, and assessing the students current functional strengths and limitations (p. 48). Measurable Annual Goals Measurable annual goals are used to identify what the individual student is expected to achieve within one year to address what effects the disability has caused. Gibb and Dyches (2016) define the word measurable as the behavior stated in the goal can be observed and measured to determine when it has been achieved (p. 60). Therefore, in order to be considered a measurable academic and functional performance goal the goal must be able to be measured, must meet the individual student needs that are in relation to the disability and cause problems within the general education curriculum, and must also meet any other additional ... • 9. The Pros And Cons Of Offshore Drilling Offshore drilling is a topic of extreme debate and argument and one of the most debated parts of that is whether or not it benefits the economy in the U.S. One of the first things to note is that stopping offshore drilling could potentially damage the U.S. economy, and therefore how much energy we can overall use. According to Mason, Joseph R., author of, The Oil Industry Supports Many Louisiana and Gulf Region Economies , we can see the statement, the moratorium would produce broad economic losses within the Gulf and throughout the nation as a whole . We can gather, from this, that ceasing offshore drilling/offshore oil production, could potentially harm the U.S. economy, and as I said before the economy being damaged overall decides... Those that argue against the statement that offshore drilling benefits the economy say that the potential damage from the BP blowout had the costs estimated at $2.2 billion with the highest possible adjustments, paraphrased from the paper written by Bailey, Ronald, titled Offshore Drilling Remains a Risk worth Economy . Contrary to what the title states, just by looking at the summary of a passage from the text, it s clear that offshore drilling can really hurt the economy through damaging the environment, and that it is not a sound decision to continue because of the chance of a spill. The second point they argue against is whether or not offshore drilling really lowers energy prices in the U.S. From the article written by Hassett, Kevin A., titled Offshore Drilling Will Lower Energy Prices , a quote from President Barrack Obama is referenced, Offshore drilling would not lower gas prices today, it would not lower gas prices five years from now. • 10. General Conception Of Prejudice And Prejudice The presence of stereotypes and prejudices existed from a long time ago along with the human history partially often deeply integrated with religion or social status. In 21st century, people are facing with many different stereotypes and prejudices either directly or indirectly. Stereotype is a generalized belief or assumption towards some specific groups or people by the defined attributes or characteristics. Stereotyping can foster prejudiceand shape people s point of views and behaviors of ourselves and others. People measure the implicit and explicit prejudices such as linguistic bias or the income inequality. Some theories with respect to researching this long lasting phenomenon have been raised their awareness of the difference between the traditional prejudice and the contemporary prejudice. To put it differently, the transition of empirical theories of prejudice has been evolved from the blatant and overt form to the subtle and symbolic form. One of the biggest traits of the modern prejudice is hard to catch or notice so that even the prejudice holders are not aware of what they are performing. In this essay, I am going to address the general conception of prejudice using social categorization theory and dive in more details about specific types of prejudice as the essay goes further. In general, people interact or communicate with each other in many ways. They use a mixture of verbal and nonverbal methods to deliver their messages accurately and effectively. ... • 11. Bldc Motor Advantages And Disadvantages CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 BLDC MOTORS: BLDC motors are a type of synchronous motor. This means the magnetic field generated by the stator and the magnetic field generated by the rotor rotate at the same frequency. BLDC motors do not experience the slip that is normally seen in induction motors. BLDC motors come in single phase, 2 phase and 3 phase configurations. Corresponding to its type, the stator has the same number of windings. Out of these, 3 phase motors are the most popular and widely used. Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors are one of the motor types rapidly gaining popularity. BLDC motors are used in industries such as Appliances, Automotive, Aerospace, Consumer, Medical, Industrial Automation Equipment and Instrumentation. As the name implies, BLDC motors do not use brushes for commutation; instead, they are electronically commutated. BLDC motors have many advantages over brushed DC motors and induction motors. A few of these are: Better speed versus torque characteristics High dynamic response High efficiency Long operating life Noiseless operation Higher speed ranges In addition, the ratio of torque delivered to the size of the motor is higher,... Analysis of the Article The Flip Side of Internet Fame CONTEMPORARY COMMUNICATIONS THE NARCISSISM CONNECTION Introduction In her 2008 article, The Flip Side of Internet Fame, Jessica Bennett explores some of the problems created by the nature of the Internet in connection with the consequences of publicly released information in the digital age. She details the account of a teenager whose life was affected very adversely by someone else s choice to post an embarrassing video of him without his permission. She also outlines some of the problems attributable to the fact that information posted online is not subject to any filter for accuracy, fairness, or appropriateness. Public posting forums allow the publication of defamatory statements about others with much fewer protections afforded by laws applicable to other types of injurious and untrue communications about others. The issues raised by Bennett illustrate that the Internet is still in its infancy in terms of how it is best integrated into society and regulated by the same ethical, social, and legal principles as traditional forms of communications. It is likely that the solution lies, not in the evolution of regulations or in limitations on free speech; rather, the solution is likely to evolve naturally as subsequent generations develop a better and more nearly comprehensive understanding of how to integrate their offline and online identities in ways that maintain their privacy. Blood is used to represent heroics on the battlefield, evil and murderous inclinations, and ultimately guilt and shame. It is because of this episode that the Marchmain family are shamed in the newspaper, perhaps worsening Lady Marchmains over reaction to Sebastian s drinking later in the novel. This illustrates clearly how even in these youthful days that Charles cherishes so much, there was chaos which corrupted the serene life with Sebastian which he chooses not to dwell on.
