Whenever people think of someone as gifted they tend to think of superpower type qualities.
During the book The Chosen, written by Chaim Potok, it depicts several different characters
pertaining different talents. Characters such as Reuven, Danny, or even Mr. Malter all possess
abilities that help them in life. The types of gifts displayed in the book are not what people
usually think of as special gifts, but a special talent can seem as little as forgiving easily and
genuinely care for others well being or as big as recalling information at a moments notice. In The
Chosen, characters such as Reuven, Danny, and Mr. Malter all demonstrate certain gifts that they
maintain. To begin with, Reuven Malter demonstrates many of his different types of gifts

McCrea and Cheng have differing views on the role of identity within Joyce s The Dead. McCrea
argues that identity is incomplete because of the limitations of language whereas Cheng argues that

Firstly, I believe that McCrea s focus on failed communication is needed to understand the nature of

Building an off road vehicle from scratch is a difficult process. It consists of welding, fabricating
brackets and mounts, and aligning all of the parts to work with each other. Building this vehicle
is going to be a learning experience for me. I am new to welding and I am new to designing a
vehicle like this. The following paragraphs show the different types of welding, the safety gear used
for welding, the tools involved in my project, and the complex machines I used to complete my off
road vehicle.
The definition of welding is a process where two or more pieces of metal are fastened together
by the use of heat and pressure. The welder I am using is a Miller 350p MIG. This welder has
three processes it can do: MIG welding, pulsed MIG and flux cored MIG welding. MIG welding
works by forming one droplet of molten metal at the end of the electrode poss the arc and into the
puddle. Pulsed MIG welding is a non contact transfer method between the electrode and the weld
puddle. This means that the electrode never touches the puddle. This is accomplished through high
speed manipulation of the electrical output of the welding machine. It is designed to be a

Personally, Andra believes that there is a special healing and renewing connection with nature and
the spirit. Although not a formal religion, she believes with many ideas of other religions like
karma and reincarnation. Her spiritualism seemed not to be a very big motivation to her. She also

For my ethnography project I chose to study the life at my parent s group home located in
Hudson, WI. For the paper I will refer to the group homes as living well one and two. Also I will
not give out residents name in this essay for confidentiality reasons. The main focus of this
ethnography is to compare the norms at both group homes and also to observe the setting the

tradition and is remembered because of it.

The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn is one of the greatest, most daring novels in the world. Mark
Twain s style helps to realistically portray early America. Mark Twain tells the story through the
voice of Huck, the very kindhearted main character. Everything that Huck says reflects the racism
and black stereotypes typical of the era. This has lead to many conflicts from readers since the
novel was first printed. However, the story has inspired some. James W. Tuttleton says in an article
he wrote that Huck Finn is regularly denounced as racist trash (The San Francisco Chronicle [1885]

If the author wished for the story to be racist, he would not write about the way Huck felt
towards Jim. He [Twain] tried to evince the beauty of Huck and Jim s friendship by sealing it in
flawed and humble English. ( Race Traitor [D Andrea 1992]). It is seen some throughout the
book that Huck sees Jim as a white man. Huck tells the reader this when he realizes that Jim
misses his own family and children, I do believe he cared just as much for his people as white
folks does for their n (150). Any words that seem to humiliate African Americans is simply a casual
use of Southern slang and not purposeful. Huck talks the way he was taught according to the
culture then to stylize a specific behavior toward black slaves. However, his feelings toward Jim
throughout the novel has taught Huck to conquer certain stereotypes, such as black stupidity and

3 believes Jim to be inappropriate and stubborn at times, as in their exchange over the Biblical
story of King Solomon and the French language. Huck doesn t tell Jim but says to the reader, If
