2. Essay On Martha Graham
Martha Graham: dancer, teacher, choreographer, mother of 20th century dance.
Martha is recognized as one of the greatest and most influential artists of the 20th
century. Her dance technique and style was constantly growing and expanding
through experimentation of what the body could do based on its own structure. I
wanted to begin, she said, not with characters or ideas, but with movement (World
Biography). She believed that the purpose of dancewas to create an increased
awareness of life and a greater understanding of the nature of humans. By rejecting
the traditional steps of classical ballet and experiencing the art of dance from a

Not many years later, George Graham dies suddenly, leaving
Martha an open opportunity to enroll into a school of art.
From the years 1913 1916, Martha attended the Cumnock School of Expression, a
junior college in Santa Barbara where she would study academic and practical theater
arts. This is where her dancing experience would technically begin, as the students
had interpretive dancing three times per week. In 1916, Graham enrolled into the
Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn
School of Dance in Los Angeles. The school taught ballet, ethnic dance, music,
codified dramatic gestures, makeup, lighting, costumes, dance history, Greek
philosophy, and yoga and meditation. At age 22, Martha had a late start for
training, yet was still serious and intent on becoming a prestigious dancer. Martha
s body was very supple and strong and had the ability to project most every
dramatic movement. She had an extremely flexible body and was very small yet
often appeared to be taller. She was also very disciplined and precise. Ruth
ultimately was unimpressed by Graham s abilities, yet Shawn was drawn to her
diligence and memory of the steps and movements. Martha began performing in
1919 and was given her first leading role in the piece Xochitl in 1920. Soon after
Martha s success in this production, Louis Horst, a pianist for the Denishawn
Company, becomes her strong critic, influence, and mentor of hers. Graham leaves
Denishawn Studio in 1923 after producer/director John Murray

Craggs displays the internal struggle of family through direct characterisation. On
pages 89 90 you read Joel thinking about Craggs s family problems. From page 90
you notice how as all the shouting an anger coming from inside is being made an
all Craggs does is keep his little sister Hannah safe and reassuring her everything
will be okay. This shows us a more soft, sensitive side of Craggs. Craggs doesn t
have a stable home lifestyle from indirect characterisation which represents the
way he acts out, in order to gain his parents attention, instead of always fighting
with each other. On page 157 Craggs say to Joel in the letter I had to lie on my
release conditions and say I d be living with the old s (as if that would ever help
me), this signifies how Craggs thinks his parents don t care about him. Another
struggle Craggs face is the fear of not being loved. Craggs doesn t have any
affection from anyone besides his sister and Joel. He fears that he want ever be
loved. In the text we read how Craggs only friend is Joel and how Joel is the person

5. Being Wide Awake Research Paper
Throughout my life, I have often been unaware about my actions. I knew I wanted
to get good grades in order to make my parents proud, but I really did not see how
much value education does have. I would go through the motions of day to day
life not really seeing the bigger picture. Now that I am older, I see the vital
importance of being wide awake. Being wide awake means that the person elevates
their life, and involved in the details of life; he or she is alert and aware. I strive to
develop the skills of being awake in my life, but also in my future classroom. As
individuals investigate and become intrigued in the world around them, they can start
to be aware. Becoming more reflective will aide me in this process to becoming
more involved.

7. Diets In The Middle Ages
The food in the Middle Ages (1000 1500) differed between upper class diets and
lower class diets. There was not a variety of food choices available for Middle Age
people. The food they ate depended on where they lived, what they lived by, and
whether they were rich or poor. In some ways the middle ages diet was the same but
in other ways it was very different to our diets.
In the Middle Ages there were certain foods more commonly eaten than others. The
staple foods for everyone (upper class and lower class) included breads and root
vegetables such as parsnips, carrots, yams, and onions. Figure 1 shows bakers
making bread which was one of the major foods of the Middle ages. Almonds were
a common nut used as thickeners in soups, stews, sauce and of course were used in
almond milk. For people living on the coast, the main foods consisted of fish caught
from the nearby sea. The average person who lived away from the coast did not
regularly eat fish unless it was a special occasion.

Abstract Since last two decades Software Defined Networking
(SDN) has become one of the prevailing topics in the area of networking. SDN
pervaded from wireless to cellular and the reason behind its widespread application
in various domains of networking is because of its ability to decouple control plane
and data plane into two separate components, which provides automation to the
network function and gives relief to the operator from manually configuring each
network component. Its centralized SDN controller gives a global view of the
network. So network visualization will definitely get better, which is profitable
where co ordinated decisions need to be made i.e. interference management in
cellular network, resource management. SDN will also be advantageous in areas
where network optimization is required with considering its global view of the
network. Since last decade network traffic demand has increased drastically and our
current network architecture is not evolving with this growth of traffic. The reason
behind this non adaptive network is the vertical integration of the network. With the
advent of SDN adaptability issue can be resolved. Researchers will also get an
opportunity to do experiments with the real network and the other benefit we will get
with SDN is network virtualization.

The great pioneer Walt Disney said it best, Our heritage and ideals, our code and
standards the things we live by and teach our children are preserved or diminished
by how freely we exchange ideas and feelings. To truly understand your heritage you
must be able to accept it. Your family legacy is passed down from generation, to
generation. Creating a false heritage in which you know nothing about doesn t help
you understand your true heritage. Alice Walkeruses the theme Everyday Use to
demonstrate her approach about the meaning of one s heritage.
Everyday Use by Alice Walker is a short story that takes place in the late 1960s, to
the early 1970s and is told in first person by an uneducated mother, Mrs. Johnson.

Nonlinear narratives don t follow rules of space and time. They can start and end
at any time in the trajectory of the plotline. Throughout Everyday Use there were
flashbacks to explain things as they were actually happening (e.g. the house fire).
The flashbacks, which of course is told from Mama s point of view, clearly
explains why Dee is the way she is now. It explains her differences and the derision
she has for her heritage and roots, which she is so quick to disparage and ignore.
This paves the way for the introduction of the modern day Dee and explains her
selfish actions in wanting the quilts; not because of the living history of her family
that they represent, but because of their beauty alone.
On the surface, the conflict of Everyday Use appears to be between Mama and Dee,
a man versus man conflict. Mama resented the intimidating world of ideas and
education that Dee forced on her family on her trips home. The whole basis of
changing her name meant that she rejects being named after her Aunt Dicie.
Coincidentally, the quilts she wants were done by Mama and Aunt Dicie who used
some tops their mother made before her
15. How Does Jean Jacques Rousseau Influence On Childhood
Jean Jacques Rousseau was a philosopher in the 18th century who studied the way
children interact with each other in a playful setting. His theories concerning
childhood development have impacted many progressive educational theories still in
use today. However, his work is not supported by the popular childhood theories of
the present age; for example, Rousseau speaks out against imaginative play in his
work Emile, which is currently considered to be a historical milestone in early and
middle childhood research. Rousseau believed that imaginative play would set
children on the road to unhappiness and dissatisfaction throughout life. Though
Rousseau s ideas may be factually inaccurate, his views that are presented in Emile

Many childhood theorists have delineated the importance of childhood imaginative
play as it encourages children to differentiate between the world in their heads and the
world outside (Shuffelton, 2012, p. 314). Child theorist Amy Shuffelton (2012)
commented on the importance of imaginative play by stating: Also, children use
imaginative play as a means to gain the emotional competence to handle the various
hurdles life places in their paths. In happier situations, children play out interpersonal
conflicts and thereby become able to resolve the real ones; in horrific situations,
children have used imaginative play as a means to cope with the terrors around them.
(p. 314) Imaginative play encourages children to think outside of the box and
broadens their understanding of the world around them. Current research suggests
that children who consistently use their imaginations and can differentiate between
real and make believe actually end up with higher achievements later in life
(Shuffelton, 2012). Imaginative play can have a long lasting effect on the way a
child develops and should be taken into account by both parents and educators.

18. Radioactive Waste Of Radioactive Wastes
INTRODUCTION
Radioactive waste contains radioactive substances, which are used for the production
of nuclear power and in other scientific fields such as nuclear fission or nuclear
technology (Hidaka, Yuan, and ebrary, 2012). Currently, although the use of
radioactive materials has provided great benefits to society, the radioactive waste
issue has been widely discussed in terms of being a huge problem that may affect
natural environmental systems, and also human health (Ojovan Knovel, 2011).
According to Sartori (2013), efficient radioactive waste management systems are
needed to provide safe isolation from the contact with the ecosystem as long as
necessary to reduce effects on biological systems; and it involves many steps such as
treatment, conditioning, transportation, storage and disposal of all categories of
radioactive wastes, including administrative, operational and safety related actions
(The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation ANSTO, 2011). It is
known that radioactive waste management activities have to follow current
regulations, which are directly related to waste characterisation that involves
radioactive waste classification. Due to the importance of radioactive waste, this
report addresses a literature review of the management of radioactive waste.
RADIOACTIVE WASTE CLASSIFICATION
Currently, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has been used as the
main organization for developing the classification of radioactive waste.

Book are magnificent things. Fiction books are created with such details, they only
hold small or no real life facts or events. In contrast, nonfiction books do the
complete opposite. Nonfiction books contain facts or events from the past that
occurred, they are also incorporated with details to make the story more interesting,
to give it more imagery, feel, and a better tone. When an author does so, they
manage to make the book have a timeless quality, which is incredibly important to a
nonfiction book. An author is capable of getting this quality in their books by
incorporating the facts or events, alongside rhetorical strategies to give life and
meaning to their book. Not every author can manage to do this, although, the author

especially alluring range of effects as the sun traveled the sky. This imagery gives a
beautiful and alluring effect on the audience. This allows the audience to picture the
beautiful sky, that looked the same, the sky that was above the tall and mesmerizing

personification. Personification is giving a human feature or trait to an inanimate

not travel, thus giving it a human trait. Both personification and imagery help give
the audience a better picture of what is occurring in the story, allowing the audience
to imagine what is happening, which would let the image stay in someone s mind

22. Essay on Chipotle Balanced Scorecard
Chipotle The Chipotle Mexican Grille opened its first store in 1993 beginning a new
category in the restaurant industry known as fast casual (About Us, 2014). This new
category featured the highest quality raw ingredients, classic cooking methods, and
distinctive interior design features that are more frequently found in the world of fine
dining. However, aside from the normally long wait in lines, an order could be taken
and served in only a couple minutes. Currently Chipotle operates more than 1,500
restaurants internationally. The following pages will present a balanced approach to

comprised of four components: 1. To increase consumer awareness with regards to
the importance and benefits of consuming naturally raised produce. 2. To
vigorously seek out expansion into the European markets. 3. To continue to grow
and foster new relationships with food suppliers. 4. To continue incurring only
minimal amounts of expenses relating to marketing and other advertising
expenses. Financial Analysis Fast food is known for low quality and low prices.
Alternatively, the dine in experience offers high quality with a higher price. Some
restaurants seek a low cost dine in experience but this is done with a deteriorated
food quality. Therefore, it would make sense that Chipotle s philosophy of high
quality has a hard time maintaining a low price. Chipotle makes this work by
charging slightly higher prices than fast food. Customers are willing to pay this
because of the differentiations Chipotle offers but how does this translate overall
financially? One key aspect for Chipotle is their ability to cover debt. They maintain
very liquid assets to cover the costs of

Egypt is easily the most populated country in the Arab world boasting an impressive
82 million, living almost exclusively in three separate regions. Within this massive
population there is a surprising little amount of religious diversity in this country,
having over 90% of the population affiliating with the Muslim faith. This small yet
densely populated country has many much more beneath its services, engulfing its
government as well as its people.
(8) Racism is ingrained into the very genome of mankind, it effects the people of the
world with hate or ignorance, and it is this combination that is plaguing the Egyptian
culture. Egyptians are a very racist culture and they are blissfully unaware of this.
The cause however is due to the hate they have received throughout the years. Even
the Egyptian leaders are not immune to being discriminated against. In 2013

Due to the quality of its products, Bel has maintained an eminent reputation and its

Nevertheless, in order for Bel to increase their shareholders worth by creating

would be the right market for growth expansion and would also position the firm to
optimise value creation (Hollensen, 2007). However, the rationale behind this choice
of country is due to the fact that customers in Germany are very careful about
hygiene compared to some of the Asian and African countries that have other
alternatives like water (Euromonitor, 2012).It is also assumed that, like the UK,
many of the products in the disposable paper market are considered to be essential by
German consumers. Also it assumed that the Germans consume 13.7kg of tissue per

27. Analysis Of Se7en By David Fincher
Se7en Sins Greed. Envy. Gluttony. Wrath. Lust. Pride. Sloth. These acts and
feelings are what most Christians consider the seven deadly sins. If you commit
any of these sins, you are doomed to hell and and an agonizing death. While most
religious people avoid the sins like the plague and see most people as good
samaritans, some see the sins in everyone they encounter like it s written all over
their face. Se7en, by David Fincher, explores what happens when the people who
see the sins in everyone decides to act on their views. The movie follows two
detectives, played by Brad Pitt(David Mills) and Morgan Freeman(Detective
Somerset), who follow a line of murders happening in the city they live in. They

This is useful in Se7en because the main topic surrounding the murders is religion.
Writers of the film used the serial killer genre because it s easy to grab people s
attention and convey the message that the world is a cruel place with many issues. If
the movie weren t sheltered with a simple slasher flick cover, it would instantly
become contentious, and many wouldn t want to squabble with a movie telling the
viewer about how religion isn t perfect.
Among other options, the debate of how Se7en is representation of violence in
practicing religion changes how many people alter their views of what is right and
wrong. Most people overlook the wrongdoings of the world and turn the other
cheek. In the film, the killer John Doe sees himself as a good person performing
God s work for him by acting on his feelings and not turning the other cheek. This
suggests that killing people because they re doing God s work is okay because
they have religion to blame for their reasoning. One of John Doe s final speeches is
him trying to justify why he went on a killing spree, and he justifies his actions by
saying,
Only in a world this shitty could you even try to say these were innocent people and
keep a straight face. But that s the point. We see a deadly sin on every street corner, in
every home, and we tolerate it. We tolerate it because it s common, it

She was a descendant of the greek Ptolemy I who was a friend of Alexander the
Great, who had conquered Egypt a few centuries before her time, and was a general
in Alexander s army (Hawass 2010:16). Upon the death of Alexander the Great
Ptolemy I took control of Egypt and started the Ptolemaic dynasty (Hawass 2010:16).
Cleopatra VII, was born in 69 B.C.; she was the second daughter and child of
Ptolemy XII, who had five legitimate children in all (Roller 2010:3). During the
first few years of Cleopatra VII s life marked a fairly quiet time in the reign of her
father; but during this time he gave an extensive amount of money to Roman
leaders as a payment for their support of his leadership and help in controlling the
Egyptian people (Roller 2010:18 21). Ptolemy XII began taking loans from a
Roman banker to help support this habit, and imposed heavy taxes on his people
which caused a revolt and strike of farmers. Despite all this influx of revenue
Ptolemy continued to spend exorbitant amounts on both gifts for Roman leaders
and for his own lavish tastes, feeding his debts to Rome (Roller and Roller

the fact that Ptolemy XII let his brother Ptolemy of Cyprus fall, watching silently as
Cyprus became a Roman territory, there was an uprising in 58 B.C. (Roller 2010:22).
So Ptolemy XII escaped Egypt and the revolt of his people by fleeing
31. Reflection On The Value Of A Book
Final Essay #3 Personal
In this class I learned how to judge a grate book. From my point of view a books
greatness is judged from the eye of the beholder. But taking this class has helped
me to better articulate in my own mind how a good book should be judged. What I
mean is that I have always known if a book was good when I read it but now I know
how to quantify and explain why I think that way. In this way, I feel that a really
great book has something special it can teach everyone. One good quality of a
good book is that a good book is persistent in its storytelling and is written in such a
way as to make the story believable. I have seen this in the books we have read for
class all of them are able to put the story together without any potholes. A good
book also helps you to feel empathy for the characters. This is an important part of
the book because it helps you to imagine the story and be able to enjoy the story
better. If the characters are interesting then the reader is able to disband disbelief
easier.
Ever since the young age of second grade I have loved books. I was always found
with a nose in a book. Because of this I feel that I have a fairly good background on
books and so therefore can determine if, in my own opinion, the book is really
good or not. But as in all things there is more to learn and over the course of this
semester I have had to stretch my reading capability to its very limits. I have really
enjoyed this opportunity to read some of the most
32. An Inspector Calls Eva Smith Character Analysis
Apart from Mrs. Birling, Priestley in his play An Inspector Calls, conveys women as
very weak and inferior characters; as the play was set in 1912, we can see how
women were stereotypically made to be obedient and loyal to their husbands.
Through the character of Eva Smith the theme of vulnerability is portrayed, and
through the character of Sheila we can see how women are shown as materialistic and
incompetent.
Throughout the play Priestley exhibits the character of Eva Smith as an impuissant
character; she is mentioned very frequently as she highlights the faults of society in
1912 due to the ill excused way she was treated, being inferior to males of her own
class as well as those much wealthier than her. Yet she never makes an appearance in
the play. When she is first mentioned she is portrayed as weak when the... Show more

From this we can infer that Priestley is portraying women as weak, as if they can
not speak their own mind, therefore Gerald had to talk for her since she could not
do it herself. He goes to open the door while Sheila takes her mother out. Then he
closes it and comes back in, from these stage directions we can see how Priestlety
conveys how the women are too fragile to be involved in important conversations.
The fact that Sheila takes her mother out , as the men stay inside and continue to
discuss, portrays that the women are not only too weak to handle the conversation
but also that they are unimportant in the matter, as they did not need to stay. This
concludes the fact that women are exhibited as insignificant and weak through Sheila

34. The Oath Of The Horatii By Jacques Louis David
The Oath of the Horatii is a historical oil painting by the French artist Jacques Louis
David. Painted in 1784, the piece depicts a Roman legend about settling a dispute
between the nations of Rome and Alba. Instead of succumbing to the possibility of
war, a family from each of the nations was selected to battle out the conflict on a
much smaller scale. These two families were the Horatii (Rome) and the Curatii
(Alba). This paintingdepicts the Horatii family, specifically the three brothers, who
are receiving the swords they are meant to use for the battle. Many of the figures in
the painting show clear distress, but this is not simply because of the dangers
involved in this fight. A closer look into the context of the legend reveals that the
Horatii and Curatii families are joined through marriage. This makes the coming
battle all the more pivotal in the sense that these families must choose between their
duty to Rome and their familial ties.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The brothers all hold very strong, powerful stances, the vertical lines of their arms

painting as one without consequence. The three arches in the background seem to

integrity needed to support a house or in this case, a mourning family and the entirety

The Wars of the Roses, fought in England during the 15th century, was a critical
juncture in the history of England, as it determined the future of England s throne.
The Wars of the Roses were not just one single conflict, but several (hence the name
Wars not War) in England during the later half of the 15th century. The conflict is
typically though to stem from the conflicting ambitions of the York and Lancaster
families to control the English throne. The notion that The Wars of the Roseswere a
power struggle over the English throne is an obvious one to come to. Given the
turbulence surrounding control of the throne, as well as the violent nature by which
Kings were often replaced during this time it is easy to assume that the conflict was...

Such an analysis of the conflict is an easy one to assume based on the nature in
which power shifted hands between the Lancaster and the York families during
the time of the Wars of the Roses, however assuming the conflict was caused
simply by two families fighting each other fails to consider much deeper root
causes. If one examines the successful rule of Lancaster King Henry V compared
to the ineffective rule of his son Henry VI it becomes obvious that weak rule, not a
thirst for power was the catalyst behind the York challenge to the throne. Henry V
faced no real challenges to his authority during his successful rule; Henry VI was
eventually deposed after his rule saw the decline of England. Furthermore, given
the shifting alliances of nobles, such as the Earl of Warwick, it is clear that
supporting ones own kinsman was not the central factor in who nobles backed
during the war. If the war was the result of family rivalry one would except family
ties to be a crucial factor. Lastly the notion that the conflict stemmed from the York
family wanting to take control of the throne away from the Lancaster family can be
easily attributed to later Tudor propaganda. The works of William Shakespeare
would paint the York claims to power as self serving, which would go own to be

As per the case study, Mattel s main issue is that they are not living up to their core
mission. The case clearly states that Mattel s philosophy is to satisfy the customer s
needs and wants. Delivering what the customer needs and wants can be segregated
into two broad categories:
First, product development: According to the case, Mattel s product development
ensures that its portfolio never stagnates. Unfortunately, Mattel has failed to adapt to
the evolving demands of children, as they are becoming increasingly technologically

Mattel lost 206 million dollars because of a lack in due diligence in the acquisition
and as a result had to lay off 10% of its employees in 2000. Second, their failure to
cater to the rapidly changing attitudes and of their target consumer to more web
based toys and games resulted in Mattel losing major sales opportunities8. Their
consumers were growing up and wanting adult playthings such as cell phones and
facebook profiles, which decreased the product life cycle of their toys such as Barbie
and Hot Wheels, drastically decreasing their profitability and growth potential. Mattel
also did not use their web presence effectively; they devoted too much time, money,
and effort into developing the Barbie and Hot Wheels websites, when the real interest
for their target consumers was social media and connecting to their peers via the
internet.
Privacy: The issue of privacy stemmed from the exponentially increasing Internet use
by teens. Particularly, when Facebook, the worlds most popular social media tool,
abolished its exclusive availability to solely university students and become available
to the general public, there was a dramatic increase in internet usage among younger
web users. With this increased internet usage came
39. Difference Between Reasonable Suspicion And Reasonable
Doubt
The issue within this paper focuses on the difference between reasonable suspicion
and probable doubt. The two appear similar in many ways as both require the best
judgment of the law enforcement personnel. But they are in fact different, and all
law enforcement must know the difference in order for the evidence to be
admissible in court. Law enforcement is obligated to follow the protocols and
procedures outlined by the U.S. Supreme Court; if law enforcement does not follow
the laws, perpetrators could be released and free to commit more crimes. Proving
probable cause and reasonable suspicion are imperative to avoid violating the rights
of citizens.
The police need only reasonable suspicion to stop an individual and question him or
her, and they may search for weapons if they believe that the person is armed or
presents an imminent threat of bodily harm (Taylor, 2012). Reasonable suspicion is
when a law enforcement personnel presumes a crime has been or is about to be
committed. For instance, a police officer observes a vehicle driving unusually faster
than the others on the road, therefore performing a speed check using radar. The car
is, in fact, speeding so the officer pursues the vehicle and pulls them over. Upon
approaching the vehicle, the officer notices the suspect scrambling and whispering
while leaning around the car. This causes suspicion, reasonable suspicion, which
allows the officer to ask the person out of the vehicle to detain them. It also gives the

41. The Legal Entity System Has Profoundly Affected The...
1.0 Introduction The legal entity system has profoundly affected the process of
human economic and social development. Needless to say, the connotation of the
legal entity system is very rich, and that the company has an independent personality
and shareholders bear the limited liability is the two basic features (Tweedale, G.,
Flynn, L., 2007). Of course, the company s independent personality is based on the
separation of corporate property and shareholder property. Under this circumstance,
the company shall enjoy their rights, fulfil obligations, and independently bear civil
liability in its own name (L.C.B., 1992). However, with the development of
commodity economy, and the deepening and extensive use of the legal entity system,

3.1.1 Fraud or misrepresentation Fraud or misrepresentation is one of the most
frequent factors in piercing the corporate veil. Fraud is a deliberate concealment of
the truth and a false statement leading the other party to engage in certain acts and
causing loss or injury, which can be seen in the case GILFORD MOTOR Co. v
HORNE Ltd. (1933) . Fraud includes civil fraud and criminal fraud, and fraud is
often associated with misrepresentation. Inaccurate statements in the litigation of
piercing the corporate veil generally include misrepresentation of the company s
assets and financial conditions, as well as misrepresentations of paying to the
parties. Professor Thompson is of the opinion that when the act is found to be fraud
by the court, the act is often used as evidence to support the misrepresentation if the
fraud claim cannot be substantiated (Hodge, L., Sachs, A., 2008). 3.1.2 Shareholders
control and domination In order to pierce the company veil, the plaintiff needs not
only to prove the domination and control behaviour, but also to prove that there is
fraud or abuse unfair form of corporate. In order to pierce the company veil, that
shareholders only control/dominate the company is not enough, and there must be
fraud or misrepresentation evidence. In this regard, the standard of piercing the veil
of the company is also particularly stringent. If there is only the fact that the
shareholder is a
42. Argumentative Essay On Molly
In February 2015, 12 students who attended Wesleyan University in Connecticut
were poisoned a hallucinogenic drug called Molly that had to be taken upon
entrance at a campus party. Amphetamine MDMA, also known as molly, is a street
drug that can cause muscle breakdown, high fevers, liver failure, and cardiac arrest.
Molly also causes euphoria. However, molly gives it s users exceptional social
skills; making users feel friendly, and loving. Molly is most commonly used in
settings such as: raves, concerts, and parties. Moreover, psychiatrists have begun to
take interest in the drugs capabilities to enhance psychotherapy. Researchers suggests
that MDMA works by shifting the user s attention to positive experiences and takes

I would also recommend this article to anyone who does use the drug (if I knew of
anyone) so they could be the judge of whether or not they would want to continue
usage of the drug for the benefits provided within the article. Moreover, I would
recommend this article because of the fact that 12 college students lost their lives to
this drug because it was given to them upon entry to the party they attended. The
students did have a choice ultimately of whether they wanted to take the drug or turn
away. If it was peer pressure, the article doesn t state but it does state that the
substances that were taken was not pure MDMA. So, for people who use Molly it
would benefit them to know that when they are taking this drug thinking that is pure
it might not be and in this case the product was 39% percent pure. Thus causing these
students their lives to be taken and all at the hands of this
43. Everyday Use Symbolism Analysis
Most works of literature are full of symbolism. The symbolism they contain can
vary from a character s personality and actions representing an idea to an object
representing an idea. The short story Everyday Use by Alice Walker makes great use
of this symbolism. The primary struggle in this short story takes place when the
oldest daughter Dee returns home to her family s estate. A contrast between two
vastly different approaches on tradition and honoring one s heritage is shown
immediately. This contrast is most evident over the items that are symbolic to a
different time period. The primary focal point of the short storyEveryday Use is the
clash of ideas on how to preserve one s culture. Mrs. Johnson has two daughters, Dee

Quilts designed for everyday use, pieced wholes defying symmetry and pattern,
are signs of the scarred generations of women who have always been alien to a
world of literate words and stylish fantasies (Backer Jr. Pierce Baker 49). This
quote perfectly describes why quilts are often used as symbolism. Since they are
pieced together and mended over many generations, quilts are able to stand as a
symbol for each generation that has worked on the quilt. Dee desires the quilts
because it shows the craftsmanship of her ancestors, however, Dee wants only to
display the quilts and not to use it. This is in severe opposition to Maggie who has
already been promised the quilts. Dee replies Maggie can t appreciate these quilts!
she said. She d probably be backward enough to put them to everyday use (Walker

them since no one has been using them. Eventually, Maggie caves and says that she
can remember her grandma without the quilts. This fills Mama with joy and she
decides to give Maggie the quilts she promised and she told Dee to grab a different
quilt. Dee was angry and stormed off to the car. As she was leaving she told the
family that they don t understand their
44. Comparing Three Different Classes of Vertebrates
Introduction Chordates are an animal phylum that is classified by four main
characteristics that they all obtain over the course of their lifespans. The first
characteristic is the pharyngeal slits, which can be found in non vertebrates, allow
substances to enter and exit (Speer 2000). The dorsal nerve cord serves as a
connection between the brain and other muscles (Speer 2000). The notochord can
be found below the nerve cord and acts as a support system (Speer 2000). Finally,
the post anal tail comes out from the body from the opening of the anus (Speer
2000). One major characteristic that distinguishes Vertebrates from invertebrates is
the backbone that is present in their bodies. Vertebrates also have two pair of
appendages and have bilateral symmetry (Adojaan 2005). Along with a fully
developed organ system, Vertebrates have a central and peripheral nervous system
and a closed circulatory system (Adojaan 2005). This lab report compares Amphibia,
Reptilia, and Mammalia in order to outline the similarities and differences between
the many vertebrate classes. By comparing and contrasting theses classes, a further
understanding and knowledge of Vertebrates can be gained. Part A Class Amphibia,
more commonly known as amphibians, have several features that set them apart as a
unique Class. Organisms found within the Class Amphibia are cold blooded and
have very smooth skin (Prakash 2014). Amphibians can be found on both land and
water, which is necessary in order to keep

Candy is not yet a mature industry in the United States. The compound annual
growth rate for candy in the past ten years has been close to 6% a year, a very solid
gain in an industry that is supposedly mature. In fact, within the chocolate
confectionery subcategory, the United States ranks 11th in the world in per capita
consumption and fifth in the world in growth since 1980. Based on current
demographics, many analysts believe that there will be further growth for

47. Socrates Vs Niccolo Machiavelli Essay
Socrates and Niccolo Machiavelli are revered as some of the most influential thinkers
of their respective times. Both of these thinkers developed their thoughts while
Athens and Florence, their respective cities, faced political unrest. By questioning
the people of Athens through their period of turmoil following a shift in
government, Socrates was able to formulate opinions regarding how a government
should operate and how people should rule. Centuries later during the Renaissance
era, Machiavelli s Italy was in a divided state with the Medici family holding rule
over his native Florence. It was during this period when Machiavelli s harsh views
on how a prince should obtain power and use that power came to fruition. Apology

Socrates would view Machiavelli s prince as unnecessarily strict and limiting to the
knowledge that people crave to possess. Machiavelli s leanings towards the state over
the individual starkly contrast Socrates quest for individual knowledge through
questioning.
Throughout his trial in Athens and when facing execution, Socrates solidly stuck
beside his belief that life without this sort of examination is not worth living
(Apology, 38a). Socrates deeply believed in philosophy. He spent his whole life
seeking wisdom through moral and political questions and even when addressing a
jury with the possibility of execution looming over him he declared I shall never
stop practicing philosophy and exhorting you and indicating the truth for everyone
(Apology, 29d). The truth and the means of finding it were the most important thing
to Socrates. Even though questioning was Socrates way to achieve power, he still
believed in following the law. Practicing free speech and resisting political tyranny
are not harmful as long as they fall within the constraints of the law. In explaining to
Crito why escaping execution was not an option, Socrates questions Crito saying, Do
you imagine that a city can continue to exist and not be turned upside down, if the
legal judgements which are pronounced in it have no force but are nullified and
destroyed (Crito, 50b). In refusing to escape his death sentence Socrates proves his
48. Fema And The Federal Emergency Management Agency
On April 1, 1979, President Jimmy Carter signed the executive order that created
the Federal Emergency Management Agency. 1.Year in and out, a disaster can
strike at any moment and put millions of people in danger and wreck billions of
dollars worth of property. But, this is where the Federal Emergency Management
Agency (FEMA) steps in and up to the plate. FEMA works as part of a team
helping communities reduce their risk, helping emergency officials prepare for all
hazards, and helping people get back on their feet after their lives are disrupted by a
disaster. 2 FEMA s primary focus is to coordinate federal and logistical operations to
save and sustain lives, minimize suffering, and protect property in a timely and
effective manner in communities that become devastated by disasters. 3
Background
For 35 years, FEMA s mission remains: to lead America to prepare for, prevent,
respond to and recover from disasters with a vision of A Nation Prepared. FEMA
can trace its origins to the Congressional Act of 1803. FEMA coordinates the federal
government s role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding
to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man made,
including acts of terror. 4 President Carter s 1979 executive order 12127 merged
many of the separate disaster related responsibilities into the Federal Emergency
Management Agency. 51 From this executive order, FEMA absorbed The Federal

The Relay for Life website as well as the various Virginia Tech social media
websites do a very good job of grasping the user s attention when they first visit a
website, with relevant photos and infographics. They also have a strong thematic
unity by using a white background with the purple font on their websites. As far as
containing well presented information to create interest, they did a fairly good job
but there is still some room for improvement. The banner on the Facebook page
draws attention, but upon further analysis, it looks cluttered and does not clearly
state the message that they are trying to convey on its own. They would also
benefit from having more continuity of some of their messages across their
platforms so that everyone receives the same information no matter where they
look. In other areas, the details of when and where the event will take place, as
well as how to get involved and donate to the cause were very clear. Nationally and
around the Virginia Tech Campus, Relay for Life is a recognizable name and
many are familiar with the cause. For those who are not their many outlets do an

For the people who know me know that I that I am a diehard baseball fan,
basketball fan, and football fan. However, one of my favorite sports to watch is
boxing. I started to enjoy the sport of boxing after I saw the first Rocky movie. The
Rocky movie was my first introduction to the sport of boxing. Even though Rocky is
the fictional character he is one of the most iconic boxingfigures in the sport. Sure,
there are boxing legends like Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather, and
Oscar de la Hoya. But for some reason, Rocky Balboa is the reason that I am a fan
of the sport of boxing. As much I loved to talk about the Rocky movies or the other
boxing legends that I mention above fights this is not what this paper is about. This
paper is about the sport of boxing at the international level. In this paper, I will be
going over boxing at the history, rules/regulations, and how it impacts society.
There are five organizations that are involved with international boxing and they are
the World Boxing Association (WBA), International Federation of Boxing (IFB), the
World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Organization (IBO), and
the World Boxing Council (WBC). All of these organizations promote fighters here
in the United States and overseas. However, since there are a lot of international
boxing organizations and a lot of them have a similar history, rules, and regulations.
Which has led me to decide that I am just going to go over one of these organizations

55. Mental Health Problems Of The Appalachian Mountain
Region
The person we will become is shaped from the time we are born. Every experience
we have has an effect on us. It can be argued that the experiences we have as
children have the greatest effect on how we behave later in life. No two people
encounter the exact same things throughout their life. Experiences are dictated by the
people you live with, the events that occur in your life, and where you grow up. The
Appalachian mountain region has been considered to be a different world from
mainstream America since the first settlers arrived from the borderlands of Scotland,
Ireland, and England. Several scholars have examined the Appalachian region to
assess behavior due to mental healthissues. Several studies have found that a higher

Along with being around these things that are detrimental to their mental well being,
these children grow up in an environment where getting help for mental issues is not
the norm. As Appalachiais a rural region, it is more difficult for the residents of this
region to access mental health professionals compared to the residents of urban
areas. Along with the lack of access to help, there is a cultural do it yourself attitude
amongst Appalachian people, meaning that they are less likely to reach out for help
even when it is available. Because of this mentality, asking for help comes with a
social stigma in this region. Since children grow up seeing that their parents do not
ask for help, they feel that they should also fix themselves on their own.
The first obstacle that must be overcome when Appalachians want to get help for
mental health issues is the lack of access to mental health professionals. While there
are mental health treatment options available, they are mainly located in the more
urban areas of the region (Susan Emily Keefe, Appalachia s Children). All too
often, people are unaware of the services available to them for the treatment of
mental health disorders. Even if they do possess knowledge of what is available, it
may not be feasible to get to these services. Many of the residents may not have
insurance or the financial capabilities necessary to pay for treatment. Because the

Part A
Part B
The fiscal, macroeconomic and monetary policies have been used to stabilize the
Australian economy. A fiscal policy is when the government budget is used to
manage economic activity. This means government spending and government
taxation levels are altered to support long term economic growth. A monetary policy
refers to the Reserve Bank of Australia s (RBA) use of interest rates (cash rate) to
influence the level of economic activity. Most importantly, the RBA sets interest rates
to increase economic activity or decrease economic activity based on a few economic
indicators. The macroeconomics is concerned with the performance of the economy.

This is achieved by increasing the money supply available in the economy and
attempting to promote aggregate demand growth which is the sum of private
consumption, investment, government spending and imports. Monetary policy
focuses on the first two elements, private consumption and investment. By increasing
the amount of money in the economy, the central bank encourages private
consumption. Increasing money supply available in the economy, also decrease the
interest rate which in turn, encourages lending and investment which leads to high
aggregate demand growth. It is important for policymakers to make credible
announcements. If consumers and firms believe that policymakers are committed to
growing the economy, they will anticipate future prices to be higher than they would
be otherwise. The consumers and firms will then adjust their long term plans
accordingly, such as by taking out loans to invest in their business. But if the they
believe that the central bank s actions are short term, they will not alter their actions
and the effect of the expansionary policy will be minimized.
Fiscal policy has a stabilizing effect on an economy if the budget balance the
difference between expenditure and revenue increases when output rises and
