What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Vinyl Cutters
What is a vinyl cutter?
A vinyl cutter is controlled by a computer. Popularly known as vinyl plotters, it is a computer
controlled plotting device with a blade to cut out shapes and letters from sheets of vinyl, which is
a self adhesive plastic. Now, after reading this line, thoughts might arise in the minds of our
readers that what exactly is vinyl?? It is nothing but a synthetic plastic consisting of PVC
(polyvinyl chloride) used especially for wallpapers and other covering materials and for
phonographic records.
Principle of working:
In the words of a lay man, we can say that a computer controls the movement of the blade used in
the cutter. This blade is used to etch shapes and carve designs from sheets of vinyl. The intricate

It is designed to cut from the ground level DIY crafts to more complicated projects.
It is wireless which helps it to stand way ahead of other vinyl cutters in the list. It enables wireless
cutting through the embedded Bluetooth technology. Cutting has has become way more simpler
through many devices connected to the machine, like a PC, Mac, iPhone or iPad from which you
can send the projects. It is cloud based to cover all your storage needs.
We don t have to change the settings from time to time. It automatically adjusts the depth and
pressure according to the need.It has more than 50.000 images, projects and fonts present in the
Cricut Image Library.
We can carve out designs on a variety of materials such as paper, adhesive vinyl and even tougher
ones like leather. To make the process easy, the machine is embedded with a dual carriage which
turns procedures like cutting and writing in just one step.We don t have to remember the
complicated settings of every design because there is an embedded Smart Set dial through which
we can get just the right cut on virtually every material.

Description Of A Model Case
5.Cases: Model, Related, Contrary, Borderline Invented
Model Case A model is a simple representation of something else. Avant and Walker 2011, define
a model case as an occurrence that defines the case or idea exactly. In many instances, a model is
something that the person can relate to and should come first in the study (Avant Walker, 2011).
Example of a model case: Jason is a 31 year old white male that has worked on the surgical
oncology floor for 5 years. He has a wife and a two year old son, drinks about three days a week
and often yells at his wife and son. He arrives to work every day on time and his coworkers know
him for his speed, organization and great time management. He is the charge nurse most nights and
is currently orientating a new nurse who also knows his wife. Most days, he is very short with
the new hired nurse; belittling and acting very pompous. One day, the new hire arrives to work
and is visibly upset and teary eyed, Jason does not care and proceeds to his teaching process as
usual. The new nurse gets fed up and proceeds to yell his faults to the entire night shift crew and
even a few members of upper management. The new nurse calls him the worst nurse ever and
states that working together has been a nightmare . Further elaborating that he is a monster and
evil human being because of his frequent verbal abuse directed toward his wife and son . Jason is
immediately taken back and is consumed by his guilt and shame causing him to completely

Discrimination Against Muslims
Being a Muslim in America country is a struggle, and ever since 9/11, things have taken a turn for
Muslims. When Trump was elected president, the discrimination against Muslims has grown
stronger. People need to be educated about Muslim culture and eliminate the perception that every
Muslim is a terrorist. The community I am looking towards on the University of Kentucky campus
is the MSA. The MSA is the MuslimStudent Association and their goal is to promote Islamand
teach us all about the peaceful nature of the religion. Throughout my paper these 5 sources that I
researched played a major role in the Muslim community. My first source was a video called

perspective about Islam. He also had emotion because he was a Muslim, he experienced hate

Theories Of Emotional Intelligence
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
INTRODUCTION
Emotional intelligence has to do with an individual s ability to understand and manage his or her
own or others feelings and emotions. It involves the ability to perceive and express emotion,
assimilate emotion in thought, understand and reason about emotion and manage emotions in
oneself and in others. People with emotional intelligence are able to identify and recognize the
meaning of emotions and to manage and regulate their emotions as a basis for problem solving,
reasoning, thinking, and action.
In this write up, attempt is made to provide conceptual clarifications on the subject matter,
Emotional intelligence , an overview of the theories of emotional intelligence, including a brief
discussion about how important the role of emotional intelligence can be in leadership,
performance (both educational and work place settings) and in wellbeing.

To some persons, emotional intelligence is defined as study which looks for human cognitive
abilities beyond traditional academic intelligence, (Zeidner et al., 2004). Researchers have
categorized their definition based on the either an ability model or mixed model. Based on the
Mandell and Phewanti (2003) s ability model, emotional intelligence is defined as a set of abilities
that involves perceiving and reasoning abstractly with information that emerges from feelings (p.
389). Studies of John D. Mayer and Peter Salovey (1997) have supported this model stating that
emotional intelligence is defined as the ability to perceive accurately, appraise, and express
emotion; the ability to access and/or generate feelings when they facilitate thought; the ability to
understand emotion and emotional knowledge; and the ability to regulate emotions to promote
emotional and intellectual growth (p. 35). In addition, Mayer, Salovey, and Caruso (2004) gave the
definition of the emotional intelligence as the capacity to

Stop The Sun Analysis
In the story Stop the Sun by Gary Paulsen the theme is some people have problems that
sometimes we can t understand because it isn t something that can t be understood, but the
knowledge that we obtain when we ask questions is more beneficial than when we don t try to
seek understanding. The story Stop the Sun by Gary Paulsen is about a boy named Terry that has
a father and sometimes his father s eyes go away, . This worries Terry and causes him to want to
know more about what s happening to his Father. He looks for answers to his questions everywhere
because he justs wants to understand.
In the beginning, we are given an abundance of details to show that Terry wants to know what s
wrong with his Dad. In the text it states When it first started, Terry had asked his motherin private
what it was, what was causing the strange behaviour It s from the war, his mother had said. The
doctors at the veterans hospital call it the Vietnam syndrome. Will it go away? They don t know.
Sometimes it goes away. Sometimes it doesn t. They are trying to help him. But what happened?
What actually caused it? I told you, Vietnam . But there had to be something, Terry persisted.
Something made him like that. Not just Vietnam. Billy s father was there, and he doesn t act that
way. That s enough questions, his mother said sternly. He doesn t talk about it, and I don t ask.
Neither will you. Do you understand? But, Mom. That s enough. , this dialogue from the text
shows us that Terry wants to know what s wrong with his Father and he is worried about him.
Through the back and forth dialogue we also learn that the mother doesn t know what s wrong
either. Another example from the text is But it bothered him whenever it happened. When
something bothered him, he liked to stay with it until he understood it, and he understood no part
of this. This shows us a character trait of Terry which is his curiosity. Terry is a curious person so
this also shows why he s struggling with this issue of not understanding.
Not only does Terry not understand his dad also doesn t understand. His dad doesn t understand
that he needs to be willing to talk to others and get help. In the text it states, That s enough

Colombia Geography
Did you know that Colombia is named after Christopher Columbus? He saw the coasts of what is
now Venezuela, Colombia, and Panama in 1492. He saw the beautiful landscape, and the amazing
diversity of the wildlife and plants. Colombia has maintained these amazing qualities to this day.
That is what makes it Colombia.
There are many landforms in Colombia, each fitting into ecosystems that are intricately unique. The
Amazon river is a habitat for animals (black caimans, piranhas, giant river otters, and pink dolphins)
that are part of the surrounding Amazon rainforest ecosystem. The Colombian landscape is
admittedly in many ways like other South American countries, but is nevertheless astonishing.
There are the Andes mountains, the Amazon rainforest, the grassland plains, and a small area of
desert. Some interesting landforms include the Andean Highlands, the Middle Magdalena Basin,
Mt. Ritacuba Blanco, the Cumbal volcano. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Raleigh Hills Stereotypes
Raleigh Hills is a small suburb just within Portland city limits, in the southwest hills of
Washington County, though many often mistake it for being within Beaverton. Housing a
population of 5,896 people as of the 2010 census, the vast majority of the population is composed
of either married couples (50.8%), non families (39.6%), or individuals (33.4%). So, in this way it
deviates from the general vision of the suburbs being moreso oriented towards families with
children, but in my little cul de sac, such a stereotype is perpetuated. Well, there s at least one
family with children in the neighborhood, due to the fact that I ll often see a particular group of
boys walking down the street. The neighborhood was named after one of Washington countys...

Yes, there are a few local businesses in the area, but very few are worth mentioning, at least by
Portland s standards. There s a McMenamins bar and a highly acclaimed lumber supply store, but
otherwise, it s either chains or shady storefronts. What I find so funny about my neighborhood
is how desperately they try to be like Portland, or the mainland as I like to call it. But alas, it is
merely a subsidiary, its own entity, despite what any of the zoning codes may state. Most people
when in the area are there because they re obligated to; they need to run errands, pick up their
kids from school or it s on their way to work. In short, it s hardly a destination, it s not trendy.
There are no swanky hangouts or coffee shops. Everyone who lives here keeps to themselves
and goes about their day, which does have its benefits. For instance, I personally like feeling a
sense of solitude when I m at home, and this is definitely provided for me in my pseudo cul de
sac. I can play my music as loud as I want with no complaints, other than those who actually live
in my house. I don t fear someone looking in on me whilst relaxing in my rumpled PJ s, my greasy
hair pulled into a bun too messy to be perceived as cute. I am able to reflect in the peace that I so
often crave. I have a

Theories on the Existence of God
There are many groups of people that have differing views on God. Does he exist? Does
he not exist? These questions can be argued with countless theories as to why he does exist and
how there is no way that he does not exist or he does not exist and there is no way that he does
exist. Theists would argue that God does exist and there is good reason to think that he exists.
Agnostics, Atheists, and Fideists, on the other hand would argue that there is no good reason to
think that God exists. For some people they have no doubt that God exists. They are convinced
by experiences, theories, or just their faith alone, that God exists while others are not so easily

Natural evil includes physical and metal suffering of animals and people.
Swinburne feels that both moral evil and natural evil are necessities for the world s good,
everyone can learn and grow from them. Why God Allows Evil also suggests that the good in
the world has to be balanced by the evil. In order to have good, there has to be some evil. This
statement carries some weight because whenever tragic events happen there is usually some
good that comes from it. For example, when the Boston Marathon Bombing took place, the city
of Boston came together to offer support for the victims and anyone involved. Swinburne
suggests that God would give us responsibility for ourselves, each other, and the world, and he
gave us free will to allow us to create and determine what sort of world we want to live in. There
are some people that believe that there is no such thing an unnecessary suffering. They believe
that suffering is a necessity of humans having free will and that free will is a good thing for
people to have and we benefit from it as a whole in our society. Suffering is necessary to build
character and develop compassion or empathy. In the argument of free will, humans must be
given the choice to do evil things and to cause suffering. Some people believe that to some
extent, how we suffer is a result of the attitudes we freely choose. Everyone reacts to situations
differently and people grieve in different ways. Some people that

From 20,000 feet, ARGUS can magnify something as tiny as six inches on the ground. It has the
potential to recognize faces and record license plates. Memory space is no issue, as ARGUS has the
ability to record up to 5,000 hours of footage (Koerner 2015). This type of drone surveillance
would capture a drug dealer making a sale to some tailgaters, locate the parking stall where a
man needs medical attention after indulging in too many jalapeno poppers or track a pickpocket
through a crowd. As far as crowd surveillance goes, the use of drones appears to be a no brainer.
But this type of surveillance can also be a gateway into privacy concerns.
According to Black (2013), today s rapidly changing drone technology carries the potential to
violate the privacy rights of an individual. Numerous drones also carry the potential to threaten
privacy in society as a whole. (Black 2013).
Moving beyond crowd surveillance, drones are raising a lot of questions in reference to the Fourth
Amendment that protects citizens and their houses, papers and effects from unreasonable searches
and seizures (U.S. Const. amend IV). As drones have the potential to become important tools in
police investigations, there are many situations presented that fall outside of the Fourth Amendment
s regulation but fit in well enough to raise it as an issue (Koerner 2015).
The concern centers on everything even a simple drone is capable of. The Parrot AR 2.0 come

Western Treatment Of Horses
When I was in elementary school, I had very strong feelings about everything. If you said black,
I said white. If you said the sky was blue, I said it was not. Basically, if you thought you were
right, I would attempt to challenge that in any way I could, even if that meant going against all
logical thinking. This obstinance is best described in one time when I felt very strongly about
horses. My familyand I had horses for many years, and so did some of our friends. However, those
friends treated their horses much differently than we did. We treated our horses with loveand
respect, going with the Western style of riding. Our friends still loved their horses, you could tell,

Female Priests And The Gender Inequality Within The...
Female priests and the gender inequality within the Catholic Church
From the rampant persecution of science and inquiry during the Age of Enlightenment, to the
condemnation of abortion and the use of contraceptives in the most HIV/AIDS ridden regions of
Africa today, the Catholic Church has nearly always been the thorn in the side of progressive ideas,
movements, organizations, and institutions. Today the Catholic Churchremains one of the largest
religious entities on the planet, with nineteen percent of the world s population and a half of all
Christians adhering to its religious doctrines ( Catholic Desires for Change ). Catholicism is unique
among Christian secs for its incredibly long history and staunch traditionalism. The church structure
has remained almost unchanged since the time of the Roman Empire, and its doctrines are slow
evolving at best. The Catholic Church only recently amended its stance on the heliocentric nature
of the solar system, when in nineteen ninety two Pope John Paul II exonerated Galileo Galilei s
crimes of heresy, three centuries after the man s death (Cowell, 1992). As many western institutions
begin to diversify their gender and ethnic makeup, the Catholic Church has remained almost devoid
of female participation in all positions of authority and significance. The Church s sedated
progressivism has never been more egregious than in the rapidly changing society of the last half
century, with the millennia old barriers of sexism rapidly

The Board Of Directors
1.1 Purpose
The Board of Directors will be made in place of the Honorary Council to provide an actual
constructive benefit to SANews rather than just being title that grants guaranteed high command
positions. The Board of Directors will be a privilege and positions are only to be given to
SANews reporters that have shown not only a great amount of dedication to the faction but has
also played a major role in the faction and left a great impact.
The Board of Directors will serve as an advisory board to the faction on matters that are brought
directly to the Board. The reason for why this could benefit SANews is because sometimes the new
administration and low command are not well versed with SANews past which could then in turn
lead to attempts at replicating previous failed systems or hiring a former member whose permanent
denial reason is unknown.
The Board can also assist in expanding upon current systems along with making hard decisions that
is being feuded about between two Directors.
1.2 History
The concept of the Board of Directors was first introduced in August 2012, after Director of
Security Dominic Bianchi, Director of Entertainment Xavier Phantom and Acting Chief Executive
Officer Vanille A Ross convinced Department of Game Affairs not to disband SANews due to
events that occurred at the time with the previous Chief Executive Officer.
The Board of Directors was proposed due to the lack of stability the faction was experiencing at the
time. Vanille A

Essay about The Softer Side of Catullus Exposed in Poem 5
The Softer Side of Catullus Exposed in Poem 5
This paper begins by discussing Catullus genuine love of life as expressed in poem 5 and
introduced in the first line. It considers poem 5 as rather less cynical than many of Catullus others,
and therefore uniquely revealing. It then examines the first triad, which expresses defiance of
convention, and the second, which expresses the brevity of life and the urgency of love. The
enumeration of kisses is then discussed in particular detail with comparisons to poems 7 and 48.
Finally, it shows that Catullus usual cynicism, which is missing throughout most of the poem,
appears just at the end, displaying Catullus ingenuity.
Though he is indeed a cynic, Catullus seems to express in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Catullus passion for living sets the tone for the entire poem. The emotion he feels for Lesbia at
this moment allow us to see this passion. Given up to his feelings for Lesbia, Catullus shows us
his true self, a man who loves life and lives to love.
After the opening line, Catullus defiantly rejects the rumores senum severiorum, rumors of
rather harsh old men. For young men in love do not give heed to the opinions of others,
especially to those of old men. Old men are, as Merrill puts it proverbially the censors of the
young (12). This affair is of course a secret one, since Lesbia, whether Clodia or no, was certainly
married (Cat. 83); therefore Ellis gives scandal for rumores and censorious for severiorum (19). Yet
no convention or opinion will keep the eager Catullus from experiencing the joys of life and love.
He insists to Lesbia that they must pay no heed to such rumors, must value them at one penny,
aestimemus assis. The words as, a small bronze coin, and aestimare, to estimate, set another tone for
the poem which comes up later that of counting and guessing numbers.
The second triad in the poem makes it plain that, as Hart Davies notes, the poem s philosophy is
purely Epicurean (139). It introduces images that express the sense of urgency that a young lover
on the brink of new romance feels. To one in love, a lifetime seems far too short a season to spend
with one s lover. Therefore Catullus excitement at this new love makes him

Why Accountability Is Not Something I
Crucial Accountability Accountability is not something I have devoted much thought to or
pondered about in detail. While reading Crucial Accountability, I started to recollect experiences
in my past where accountability needed to be addressed. I realized that at times, I unconsciously
held accountability conversations that were successful; and at other times, thoughtfully pursued
accountability conversations that resulted in disaster. I was not aware until I started reading the
text that a method exists for achieving success with accountability conversations. Also, I was
unaware that my viewpoint and preconceptions could be the reason why some of my
accountability conversations have gone wrong. I did not hold myself accountable to preparation
before I held others accountable to their infractions! Prior to reading the text, I thought
informing someone of how I felt about an infraction was a means to let him or her know I did
not like what he or she did, not as a means for changing a pattern or behavior because he or she
needed to be held accountable. However, after reading the text, I realized that I have a lot more
responsibility and influence when having an accountability conversation. It never occurred to me
that the reason for a failed outcome could be the way I approached and confronted someone.
Probably the most profound lesson I learned was that I should be putting myself in the other person
s position to understand their perspective. I am guilty of jumping

Essay On Reconstruction After The Civil War
From April 12, 1861, to May 9, 1865, the United States had one of its bloodiest conflicts that it
was ever involved in. The Civil War was a war between the North and the South of the United
States. During this war, there were around 620,000 men that were killed. This war ended after
Confederate general Edmund Kirby Smith surrendered his troops. At this point the fighting had
ceased, however, the tensions between the North and the South were still present. There were still
disagreements on the rights of the now freed blacks. After the Civil War, there was a question on
how the South would re enter the government of the Union and how the southern states were going
to view the blacks. This time period after the Civil War where these questions were answered is
known as The Reconstruction and lasted from 1863 1877. During this time period, President
Lincoln was murdered and President Johnson was impeached. Congress also made major additions
to the Constitution that they thought would bring equality to the South. These changes caused a
backlash and whites tried to get back to the way things were before the war when whites had all
the power. Despite a few positive outcomes, this era of reconstruction of the South ultimately failed.

Women s Influence On The Early Years Of Jazz
There are many important women who significantly contributed to Jazz and left a legacy of
women artists. In the early years of Jazz, it was considered a male professional and women who
tried to be part of Jazz faced obstacles. This was from male musicians, critics, record producers,
club owners, concerts and also racism. Despite the obstacles, women forced their way to be part of
Jazzand pushed for equality and visibility ( Gender Discrimination, 2014).
Dolly Adams was a pianist and multi instrumentalist in the New Orleans Jazz scene. She was
recognized for her skill on the piano, playing, drums, guitar and trumpet. She was born and raised
in New Orleans Algiers neighborhood. Dolly Adams had the opportunity to play with some of the
great jazz performers of her time such as Louis Armstrong, Joe king Oliver and others (Hobbs,
2013).
Adam faced obstacles for being a woman in male dominated field of Jazz was. Her role as a wife
was also full of obstacles. Adam reportedly got married in 1922, and due to pressure from her
husband left her role as a pianist for over two decades. She returned to Jazz during 1950s and 1960s
( Hobbs, 2013).
Lil Hardin Armstrong, who was also known as Hot Miss Lil was a pianist, composer, arranger and

The Increase Of A High Unemployment Rate
However, Arendt does use work and labor simultaneously in the fact that they both can be
exchanged for currency, which is a necessity in life. Arendt explains that both the need for work
and labor in our society has decreased rapidly. She states, Whatever we do, we are supposed to
do for the sake of making a living ; such is the verdict of society, and the number of people,
especially in the professions who might challenge it, has decreased rapidly (127). Tying this into
the detriment of a high unemployment rate, we currently have a 5.5% rate of unemployment. To
make this more realistic, nearly 1 out of every 35 people is unemployed. Our highest rate of
unemployment was nearly double it is today at 10% in 2009 (BLS). Showing that a good
portion of 16 million people are only consuming rather than doing both consuming and
producing. This large percentage of citizens not contributing to the production for society takes
away from the progression of our society succeeding, which in turn keeps our society from
advancing. The significance of labor in our society is that we are all laborers, laboring in order to
earn currency to get life s necessities. Labor is becoming insignificant though because we readily
have necessities given to us, and the jobs that require people to do them are decreasing due to
technology. According to Social Security Disability Insurance our government offers basic aid such

I really think loyalty is very important because without it there will be no point of you having a

hard to find in a friend because people never know when they are being fake and lying to you,
But loyalty really consist of a loyal friend who is willing to share private secrets with each other

and she doesn t tell anyone after I share those secrets with her. Finally, a person who stays by your

How Couples Can Improve Relationship Satisfaction For The...
Introduction Couples therapy has shown to significantly improve relationship satisfaction for the
aver couple (Doss Others, 2014). What distinguishes a healthy well functioning couple from a
dysfunctional couple? A healthy well functioning couple consists of two people who not only love
each other, but also hold a high level of respect and acceptance for one another. Communication is
also a key component in well functioning couples. The root of most problems within couples is a
lack of honest communication. In healthy relationships, there is always room for growth, both as a
couple and individually. Another big aspect in healthy relationships is that each person as a life
outside of the relationship. They aren t completely dependent on each other s happiness. It is
important for individuals to love and respect themselves and not commit to a relationship because
of the lack of these qualities. In contrast, a pathological dysfunctional couple as two people who
lack respect, open communication, and are disloyal to each other. In dysfunctional relationships,
couples are typically inconsistent in sharing their wants and needs. One reasoning for this may be
that they are not honest with themselves therefore lack knowledge of what they want or need from
the relationship. Dysfunctional relationships may consist of one or both individuals being too
dependent on each other, giving the other person control over their own happiness. Dysfunctional
marriages not only receive less

In his album Spirits, published in 1994, Heron created a lengthy masterpiece in the form of his
poetic style song, Message to the Messengers. In this famous piece, Heron talks about many social
problems that African Americans face in modern society. The most significant quote that sums up
the entire song is when Heron states, Sometimes they tell lies and put em in a truthful disguise

Patterson Hood, the lead singer of Drive By Truckers, wrote What It Means a few years ago in
protest of the Ferguson shooting of Trayvon Martin. To Hood s disappointment, in addition to the
disappointment of millions, the song is still incredibly appropriate in today s society. In Killer
Mike s Reagan, Killer Mike does not only blame Reagan for the atrocities of society, but includes
the administrations that follow in both H.W. and George Bush, Bill Clinton, and even Barack Obama
. The point that both artists are trying to get across is that the idea of social and racial injustice
is ever common today as it was in some of the worst times in American history. The only
difficulty in seeing the issues that plague society is that the knowledge of the average citizen is
clouded by false information stimulated by politics. To find the truth in the corruption of society,
it is up to each citizen of the country to address the notions that There s no sunlight in our ass and
our heads are stuck up in it, or if we Will ever do it big, or just keep settling for lil shit? In other
words, everyone needs to start thinking about the truth with an intuitive, logical perspective as
opposed to what politics are feeding the public. Also, if people want change, they cannot settle for
small victories, they need to enact drastic actions to witness notable changes. An

Pan Africanism
Pan Africanism and the Organization of African Unity
Pan Africanism Definition
Pan Africanism is a sociopolitical worldview, and philosophy, as well as a movement, which seeks
to unify both native Africans and those of the African Diaspora, as part of a global African
community .
Pan Africanism represents the aggregation of the historical, cultural, spiritual, artistic, scientific and
philosophical legacies of Africans from past times to the present. Pan Africanism as an ethical
system, traces its origins from ancient times, and promotes values that are the product of the
African civilization and struggles against slavery, racism, colonialism, and neo colonialism.

To bring into closer touch with one another the peoples of African descent throughout the world
T o inaugurate plans to bring about a more friendly relationship between Caucasian and African
races
To start moving to securing all African races living in civilized counties with full rights to promote
their business interests.
The success of this early conference was limited but it did set the wheels in motion for greater
debate. For the first time the various elements of anti colonial and anti racial movements were
brought to the forefront and discussed in the public light. Dubois led the 1st Pan African congress,
which took place in Paris 1919, to discuss racial discrimination against colored troops stationed in
France after WW1.
The next major landmark in the history of Pan Africanism was the 1945 Manchester Pan
Africanism Conference. For the first time the congress did not ask for recognition or favors from
European powers. They unequivocally demanded an end to colonialism in Africa, in addition to
demands for social justice and rights. All schemes of half freedom were rejected. The Manchester
Congress gave an impetuous to the goal of achieving national independence. The next conference

Non Gravitational Effects On Jupiter s Satellites
Non gravitational effects on Jupiter s satellites The non gravitational forces affecting on the
natural satellites orbits were studied recently using observations. This effect creates a quadratic
term in orbital longitude and a secular changing of the semi major axis. Causes may be only
hypothetical. It is assumed that the causes of the effects are in the tides in the body of the planet
and in the body of satellite (Emelyanov 2015; private communication). Lainey et al. (2009)
considered an extensive set of astrometric observations from 1891 to 2007 to study the orbital
tidal evolution of the innermost Jovian satellite Io. They integrated numerically the full
equations of motion for the satellite center s mass. It is noteworthy that Io s tidal heat comes
from the orbital energy of the Io Jupiter system (resulting in orbital acceleration), whereas
dissipation of energy in Jupiter causes Io s orbital motion to declare. They used a weighted least
squares inversion procedure and minimized the differences between the observed and computed
positions of the satellites to determine the parameters of the model. The solution for the tidal
dissipation gives for Io, and for Jupiter, where, is the love number and is the quality value. The
orbital accelerations represent a shift in the orbital positions of the Galilean satellites Io, Europa
and Ganymede of 55 km, 125 km and 365 km over the 116 years respectively. The fit astrometric
residuals range essentially between 0.02 and

Media Role Models and the Effect on Children
Media construct our culture, and the media we use to communicate with one another shapes our
perception of reality. Our society is centered on media, it is the most influential factor in
constructing our culture, but is it a positive culture? If we examine the effect that media has on
children, we can say that it breeds a harmful culture, one that throws values and morals out the
window. This is because the media is profit driven and has developed its own code of ethics of
anything goes . As a result, children are exposed to things that they should not necessarily be
exposed to yet and as a result it rushes their mental development and in fact moulds their mentality.
This is a scary fact because these children s minds are susceptible... Show more content on

Another example we could look at is Britney Spears, young girls who like Britney Spears think
that she is В‘cool and thus they strive to be just like her, and this involves acting like Britney

these media personalities are popular among children and idolized by them because they are
promoted as being cool and for a child to be cool they must be just like them, which involves
buying their products. These media personalities are in essence products themselves that the
media bodies try to sell to children on the basis of В‘cool , and once they can be sold to the
children as being cool, their entire franchise benefits because their image can create the demand for
all products with their likeness.
Now let s look at the effect that these media personalities have on children in the age group 5 and

these types of television shows are educational and do in fact teach young children while keeping
them entertained. This can be seen as a positive influence on our kids and these characters as being

How Did Johannes Gutenberg Impact The Modern World
In the year 1440, Johannes Gutenberg created the printing press, and his effect on society and the
way information was spread can never be overstated in the slightest. This device allowed for more
opportunities for literacy and learning to take place. But exactly how much of an impact did
Johannes Gutenberg have on the modern world and its technology? Johannes Gutenbergs printing
presswas perhaps the most influential device of its time, and changed the modern world as we
know it. Gutenberg s machine allowed for books to be printed and distributed quickly, and
mistakes could be fixed in the blink of an eye. We will be looking at the biggest changes Gutenberg
s printingpress brought to society. Firstly, Gutenberg made literacy and reading more available
to the public. Because books used to be handwritten, they were only available for the rich and
wealthy who were able to afford a scribe who would write the entire book they wanted by hand.
With the printing press, however, books were made available to the public because of the lack of a
need for a scribe. The printers during this time were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Our Society Is The Waste Of Money
In an increasingly accessible world, people often take material objects for granted. As technology
progresses, people become obsessed with obtaining newer products. Every time Apple announces
a new product, everyone eagerly awaits its release. One of these products is the iPhone.
Unfortunately, the iPhone that symbolizes convenient communication and social progress also
represents the material obsession that is a characteristic of contemporary society. Even though
there are positive and negative connotations of materialistic obsession, ultimately, the symbol of
the iPhone represents the distressing side of our society. One of the most prevalent issues in our
society is the waste of money. The iPhone became the icon, the trend that everyone needs to get
their hands on, no matter the cost. People used to replace their phones only when they were
damaged, but now they replace them for no reason except the desire for something new. The
cheapest price for a new iPhone 7 with 32GB is $649 plus tax. This means that if people wants
more gigabytes or accessories, the price would be significantly higher. Even though iPhones are
useful, the money spent on unnecessary replacements is wasteful. According to CNN, a Chinese
billionaire s son, Wang Sicong purchased eight iPhone 7 handsets for his dog on the day of the
release (Griffiths). He has taken the lavish spending of money to a new level. In fact, this is not the
first time he wastefully spent money. Wang Sicong previously

In The Bhagavad Gita And ConfuciusThe Analects
The quest towards developing the ideal human character is sought after in both the Bhagavad Gita
and Confucius The Analects. In the Bhagavad Gita, the concept of sacred duty is prevalent
throughout the text, as the warrior prince Arjuna faces a moral dilemma throughout the story. In
Confucius The Analects, filial piety is a virtue which impacts an individual s character in relation to
the Confucian religion. Sacred duty within the Gita requires the protection of one s dharma, which
is defined as the religious and moral law that manages an individual s actions. Within Confucian
thought, filial piety is a virtue of respect for one s elders, ancestors, and parents within a
community. Despite the differences between the contextual meanings of developing the ideal
human, both the Bhagavad Gitaand The Analects utilize their teachings towards developing ideal
human character within the themes of sacred duty and filial piety with the goal of establishing a set
of communal ethics to be maintained through different caste systems, essentially protecting the
existing social structure. To argue this claim, I will begin by analyzing the similar intentions of
deviating from selfish actions and thoughts to develop ideal human character. I will then express
how the nature of this character leads towards the development of one s sacred duty and filial
piety. I will then connect these two ideas to show how together they work to develop a communal
set of ethics aimed at maintaining order

The Descent Of Alette Analysis
In The Descent of Alette, the word flower is used very often, but beyond its literal meaning as
the reproductive portion of a plant. However, this definition does tie into Notley s use of the
word very well, because her uses of the word flower are centered around a description of women.
The use of the word flowerto describe women does not occur in the obvious sense of meaning
beautiful, peaceful, or lovely, but in describing aspects of women that lie beneath the surface and
comprise their femininity. This may come across as a sweet notion, but The Descent of Alette is a
story that cannot be described as sweet in any sense of the word, mainly because of its setting in a

This point holds true for The Descent of Alette as it acts as a cautionary tale of the dangers for
women in patriarchal societies by featuring a very apparent phenomenon. The story being based
within a dystopia adds emphasis on how disastrous a world run without the aid of a woman would
be. Notley s inclusion of situations that accentuate the gender hierarchy and the social constructs
that force women to fulfill society s expectations work to establish the value of femininity. In
using the flowers to represent femininity, Notley is able to delicately present the stakes of living
without this attribute, making us have to read between the quotation marks and the lines to
realize how horrid a life would be like without this sense of womanhood. Epic poetry also
depends on the existence of a hero who must overcome adversity and, by doing so, exalt the
values cherished by a people or nation (Mercadal). This statement does a good job of describing
Alette s role within the story. All throughout she witnessed the burning of flowers and the
disadvantages women faced all while having to overcome obstacles herself, but in the end, she was
able to kill the tyrant and allow everything to C[o]me to light that morning so the flowers could

All of the choreographers in this concert exhibited their own works through exclusive compositional

The various activity levels of the brain are defined as brain waves and divided into four basic
groups according to wavelength. Delta waves range between 0 4 Hz, Theta waves range
between 4 8 Hz, Alpha waves range between 8 13 Hz and Beta waves are greater than 13 Hz.
Alpha waves are typical of states of quiet rest, none particular activity and sometimes when the
eyes are closed. Beta waves are typical of states of alertness, attentiveness or active thinking. Beta
waves appear also in the REM sleep stage along with Theta waves while the other sleep stages are
characterized by Theta and Delta brain activity .
Many researchers noted a discrepancy between the EEG of subjects with learning disabilities or

amount of theta activity, a lack of beta activity or a combination of these quot; (Lubar, 1985.

The Prevalence Of Body Dissatisfaction And Eating...
Background: Dissatisfaction with the size, weight, and shape of one s body contributes to the
risk of developing an eating disorder. Body dissatisfaction appears common among adolescents,
but there is little information available on changes in prevalence over time. Purpose: We aim to
study temporal changes in body dissatisfaction and eating disordered behavior between 1999 and
2007 and their relationship in high school aged youth. Methods: The National Youth Risk
Behavior Survey (YRBS) data sets were downloaded from the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC) for the years 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, and 2007. A pooled dataset of variables
common across the years was created (n= 64,270). Hypothesis: We hypothesize that the prevalence
of body dissatisfaction and weight control behaviors will increase over time. We predict prevalence
differences based on gender, ethnicity, and age. We also predict a correlation between body
dissatisfaction and weight control behaviors. Data Analysis: The YRBS uses a multistage
probability sampling design. We conducted univariate descriptive analysis with SPSS using case
weights and multivariate hierarchical hypothesis testing with AM Statistical Software, which takes
into account correlated errors within sampling units and utilizes design weights. Results:
Consistency of body satisfaction and weight control behaviors was found over time. White

Effective Leadership in Public Safety
Effective Leadership in Public Safety
Introduction
As chief executive my role is to create and promote a culture that is responsive to the needs and
concerns pertaining to public safety and service as required throughout the community. Effective
leadership in public safety covers a wide number of issues that require a complex level of
competences. This paper will demonstrate my understanding how the internal and external
elements of public safety and service need to be managed as they relate to six topics: ethics in public
safety, human and community service delivery, cultural diversity in public safety, group dynamics,
human resources in public safety, and America s homeland security.

Ethics in Public Safety
I understand examples of unethical behavior can be found in academia, politics, sports,
entertainment, banking and the legal system to name a few. Public Safety workers are not immune
to these unethical behaviors. They face ethical dilemmas on a regular basis pertaining to practice,
inadequate resources, inadequate staffing levels, cost containment measures, consolidation of
public safety organizations, and ineffective leadership. How individuals respond to these ethical
dilemmas depends on their previous experiences with unethical behavior, their individual
personality traits, and their ethical values as well as their knowledge of ethical principles. Moral
courage is needed to confront unethical situations.

Harry Potter Disenchantment Of The World Analysis
The article by Michale Osteling, Harry Potter and the Disenchantment of the World , examined
the controversy between the views of the conservative Christians and the Secular Mainstream,
about the children s book series, Harry Potter by J. K. Rowling. For many conservative
Christians, the book is seen as a portal to the New Age, Wicca and diabolical magic. For the
Secular commentary, which included liberal Christians, view the book as a make believe, so it
should not concern Christians, because it is not a real occult magic. It is more of an instrumental
rather than religious and parallels technology (pp6). For Osteling, the book brought a breath of
fresh air, and a source of wonder to our boring modern existences (pp 4). Osteling believes that the
book is popular because Harry fulfils our hunger for enchantment, our search for something

life. Even looking at children s cartoon shows like Scooby doo, we can see that difference. The
old Scooby doo, there would be ghosts and monsters, but they end up being a person pretending
to be a supernatural to scare others. In modern day Scooby doo, there was a time when the ghost
was actually real and no mask to reveal a person behind it. I believe shows reflect the belief of
the society and lately, there are many shows and movies related to the supernatural, or spiritual

significantly transitioned Canada effectively. The Official Languages Act is a law that was
established by the government in which gives both French and English Canadians equal value in
Canada. It allows both the English and French languages to be officially spoken in Canada. The
Official Languages Act also gives citizens the right to express their culture freely. It is vital to me
that [the constitution] does give protection to the kind of linguistic equality that this government
has put into the statutes (The Official Languages Act.). The Canadian Constitution Act accepts the

The Quebec Referendum first occurred during the Quebec Sovereignty. The Quebec Sovereignty is
the movement of Quebec declaring independence from Canada. Throughout Canadian history, the
province of Quebec has always wanted to become independent from Canada. Most citizens of
Quebec feel suppressed from Canada as French is not commonly spoken outside by Canadians
outside of Quebec. From the fall of 1967, when, as federal minister of justice, he had clearly
articulated his position on these questions, to the 1980 referendum, his thinking and priorities had
not changed: they embodied patriation of the constitution, equality between francophones and
anglophones, a charter of rights, and an amending formula granting a right of veto to Quebec. Pierre
Trudeau had intentions in patriating the constitution with the French and English Canadian s rights
and freedoms. During the Quebec referendum in the year of 1995, the Parti Quebecois asked voters
to vote on whether Quebec should become sovereign or not. As a result, the majority of voters
voted against the Quebec Sovereignty Referendum. Pierre Trudeau strived to defeat the sovereignty
movement and thus, established the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Trudeau was very
passionate and ambitious in transforming Canada into an equal and humble society.

Three quotes with analysis explaining thesis:
Act 1 Scene 5
Ghost: But know, thou noble youth, Hamlet: Oh My Prophetic Soul! My uncle?
The serpent that did sting thy father s life
Now wears his crown.
The beginning of the call to adventure J Campbell , Hamlet is encountered with the vengeful act of
murdering his uncle who killed his father. This is the first time that Hamlet is confronted with the
controversial decision of the importance of self worth or the vengeful act for his deceased father.
This shows the heightened passion and drive that Hamlet puts into the revenge on behalf of his
father, putting the most important component to his success, self worth, second.
Act 3 Scene 3
And so I am revenged. That would be scanned. A villain kills my father: and for that, I, his sole
son, do the same villain send to heaven.
This is the scene in Hamlet that King Claudius is kneeling before the lord, attempting to confess
his sins. Hamlet comes into this scene unseen by Claudius, in which he attempts to murder
Claudius, but doesn t because he doesn t want Claudius to go to heaven as a saved soul, he wants
him to pay for his sins; to watch his murder. This is where Hamlet confirms that he will devise a
plan to

Avant and Walker 2011, define a model case as an occurrence that defines the case or idea exactly. In many instances, a model is something that the person can relate to and should come first in the study (Avant Walker, 2011). Example of a model case: Jason is a 31 year old white male that has worked on the surgical oncology floor for 5 years. Mayer and Peter Salovey (1997) have supported this model stating that emotional intelligence is defined as the ability to perceive accurately, appraise, and express emotion; the ability to access and/or generate feelings when they facilitate thought; the ability to understand emotion and emotional knowledge; and the ability to regulate emotions to promote emotional and intellectual growth (p. 35). Stop The Sun Analysis In the story Stop the Sun by Gary Paulsen the theme is some people have problems that sometimes we can t understand because it isn t something that can t be understood, but the knowledge that we obtain when we ask questions is more beneficial than when we don t try to seek understanding. The story Stop the Sun by Gary Paulsen is about a boy named Terry that has a father and sometimes his father s eyes go away, . This worries Terry and causes him to want to know more about what s happening to his Father. He looks for answers to his questions everywhere because he justs wants to understand. In the beginning, we are given an abundance of details to show that Terry wants to know what s wrong with his Dad. In the text it states When it first started, Terry had asked his motherin private what it was, what was causing the strange behaviour It s from the war, his mother had said. The doctors at the veterans hospital call it the Vietnam syndrome. Will it go away? They don t know. Sometimes it goes away. Sometimes it doesn t. They are trying to help him. But what happened? What actually caused it? I told you, Vietnam . But there had to be something, Terry persisted. Something made him like that. Not just Vietnam. Billy s father was there, and he doesn t act that way. That s enough questions, his mother said sternly. He doesn t talk about it, and I don t ask. Neither will you. Do you understand? But, Mom. That s enough. , this dialogue from the text shows us that Terry wants to know what s wrong with his Father and he is worried about him. Through the back and forth dialogue we also learn that the mother doesn t know what s wrong either. Another example from the text is But it bothered him whenever it happened. When something bothered him, he liked to stay with it until he understood it, and he understood no part of this. This shows us a character trait of Terry which is his curiosity. Terry is a curious person so this also shows why he s struggling with this issue of not understanding. Not only does Terry not understand his dad also doesn t understand. His dad doesn t understand that he needs to be willing to talk to others and get help. In the text it states, That s enough ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Raleigh Hills Stereotypes Raleigh Hills is a small suburb just within Portland city limits, in the southwest hills of Washington County, though many often mistake it for being within Beaverton. It then examines the first triad, which expresses defiance of convention, and the second, which expresses the brevity of life and the urgency of love. The enumeration of kisses is then discussed in particular detail with comparisons to poems 7 and 48. The emotion he feels for Lesbia at this moment allow us to see this passion. Given up to his feelings for Lesbia, Catullus shows us his true self, a man who loves life and lives to love. After the opening line, Catullus defiantly rejects the rumores senum severiorum, rumors of rather harsh old men. For young men in love do not give heed to the opinions of others, especially to those of old men. Old men are, as Merrill puts it proverbially the censors of the young (12). This affair is of course a secret one, since Lesbia, whether Clodia or no, was certainly married (Cat. 83); therefore Ellis gives scandal for rumores and censorious for severiorum (19). Yet no convention or opinion will keep the eager Catullus from experiencing the joys of life and love. He insists to Lesbia that they must pay no heed to such rumors, must value them at one penny, aestimemus assis. The words as, a small bronze coin, and aestimare, to estimate, set another tone for the poem which comes up later that of counting and guessing numbers. The second triad in the poem makes it plain that, as Hart Davies notes, the poem s philosophy is purely Epicurean (139). It introduces images that express the sense of urgency that a young lover on the brink of new romance feels. To one in love, a lifetime seems far too short a season to spend with one s lover. I realized that at times, I unconsciously held accountability conversations that were successful; and at other times, thoughtfully pursued accountability conversations that resulted in disaster. I was not aware until I started reading the text that a method exists for achieving success with accountability conversations. Also, I was unaware that my viewpoint and preconceptions could be the reason why some of my accountability conversations have gone wrong. I did not hold myself accountable to preparation before I held others accountable to their infractions! Prior to reading the text, I thought informing someone of how I felt about an infraction was a means to let him or her know I did not like what he or she did, not as a means for changing a pattern or behavior because he or she needed to be held accountable. However, after reading the text, I realized that I have a lot more responsibility and influence when having an accountability conversation. This time period after the Civil War where these questions were answered is known as The Reconstruction and lasted from 1863 1877. During this time period, President Lincoln was murdered and President Johnson was impeached. Non Gravitational Effects On Jupiter s Satellites Non gravitational effects on Jupiter s satellites The non gravitational forces affecting on the natural satellites orbits were studied recently using observations. This effect creates a quadratic term in orbital longitude and a secular changing of the semi major axis. Causes may be only hypothetical. It is assumed that the causes of the effects are in the tides in the body of the planet and in the body of satellite (Emelyanov 2015; private communication). Lainey et al. (2009) considered an extensive set of astrometric observations from 1891 to 2007 to study the orbital tidal evolution of the innermost Jovian satellite Io. They integrated numerically the full equations of motion for the satellite center s mass. It is noteworthy that Io s tidal heat comes from the orbital energy of the Io Jupiter system (resulting in orbital acceleration), whereas dissipation of energy in Jupiter causes Io s orbital motion to declare. They used a weighted least squares inversion procedure and minimized the differences between the observed and computed positions of the satellites to determine the parameters of the model. The solution for the tidal dissipation gives for Io, and for Jupiter, where, is the love number and is the quality value. The strike, which consisted of over 185,000 teamsters crippled the world s largest package delivery company by effectively shutting down the operations of UPS for 15 days and costing the company approximately $650 million in lost business. Our society is centered on media, it is the most influential factor in constructing our culture, but is it a positive culture? If we examine the effect that media has on children, we can say that it breeds a harmful culture, one that throws values and morals out the window. This is because the media is profit driven and has developed its own code of ethics of anything goes . As a result, children are exposed to things that they should not necessarily be exposed to yet and as a result it rushes their mental development and in fact moulds their mentality. This is a scary fact because these children s minds are susceptible... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These media personalities are in essence products themselves that the media bodies try to sell to children on the basis of В‘cool , and once they can be sold to the children as being cool, their entire franchise benefits because their image can create the demand for all products with their likeness. Now let s look at the effect that these media personalities have on children in the age group 5 and under. • 29. How Did Johannes Gutenberg Impact The Modern World In the year 1440, Johannes Gutenberg created the printing press, and his effect on society and the way information was spread can never be overstated in the slightest. This device allowed for more opportunities for literacy and learning to take place. But exactly how much of an impact did Johannes Gutenberg have on the modern world and its technology? Johannes Gutenbergs printing presswas perhaps the most influential device of its time, and changed the modern world as we know it. Gutenberg s machine allowed for books to be printed and distributed quickly, and mistakes could be fixed in the blink of an eye. We will be looking at the biggest changes Gutenberg s printingpress brought to society. Firstly, Gutenberg made literacy and reading more available to the public. Because books used to be handwritten, they were only available for the rich and wealthy who were able to afford a scribe who would write the entire book they wanted by hand. With the printing press, however, books were made available to the public because of the lack of a need for a scribe. The printers during this time were... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both of the earlier methods of reproduction were expensive and time consuming. • 30. Our Society Is The Waste Of Money In an increasingly accessible world, people often take material objects for granted. As technology progresses, people become obsessed with obtaining newer products. Every time Apple announces a new product, everyone eagerly awaits its release. One of these products is the iPhone. Unfortunately, the iPhone that symbolizes convenient communication and social progress also represents the material obsession that is a characteristic of contemporary society. Even though there are positive and negative connotations of materialistic obsession, ultimately, the symbol of the iPhone represents the distressing side of our society. One of the most prevalent issues in our society is the waste of money. The iPhone became the icon, the trend that everyone needs to get their hands on, no matter the cost. People used to replace their phones only when they were damaged, but now they replace them for no reason except the desire for something new. The cheapest price for a new iPhone 7 with 32GB is $649 plus tax. This means that if people wants more gigabytes or accessories, the price would be significantly higher. Even though iPhones are useful, the money spent on unnecessary replacements is wasteful. According to CNN, a Chinese billionaire s son, Wang Sicong purchased eight iPhone 7 handsets for his dog on the day of the release (Griffiths). He has taken the lavish spending of money to a new level. In fact, this is not the first time he wastefully spent money. Wang Sicong previously ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. In The Bhagavad Gita And ConfuciusThe Analects The quest towards developing the ideal human character is sought after in both the Bhagavad Gita and Confucius The Analects. In the Bhagavad Gita, the concept of sacred duty is prevalent throughout the text, as the warrior prince Arjuna faces a moral dilemma throughout the story. In Confucius The Analects, filial piety is a virtue which impacts an individual s character in relation to the Confucian religion. Sacred duty within the Gita requires the protection of one s dharma, which is defined as the religious and moral law that manages an individual s actions. Within Confucian thought, filial piety is a virtue of respect for one s elders, ancestors, and parents within a community. Despite the differences between the contextual meanings of developing the ideal human, both the Bhagavad Gitaand The Analects utilize their teachings towards developing ideal human character within the themes of sacred duty and filial piety with the goal of establishing a set of communal ethics to be maintained through different caste systems, essentially protecting the existing social structure. To argue this claim, I will begin by analyzing the similar intentions of deviating from selfish actions and thoughts to develop ideal human character. I will then express how the nature of this character leads towards the development of one s sacred duty and filial piety. I will then connect these two ideas to show how together they work to develop a communal set of ethics aimed at maintaining order ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Descent Of Alette Analysis In The Descent of Alette, the word flower is used very often, but beyond its literal meaning as the reproductive portion of a plant. However, this definition does tie into Notley s use of the word very well, because her uses of the word flower are centered around a description of women. The use of the word flowerto describe women does not occur in the obvious sense of meaning beautiful, peaceful, or lovely, but in describing aspects of women that lie beneath the surface and comprise their femininity. This may come across as a sweet notion, but The Descent of Alette is a story that cannot be described as sweet in any sense of the word, mainly because of its setting in a dystopian society run by a tyrant. It is not stated, but it can be inferred,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This point holds true for The Descent of Alette as it acts as a cautionary tale of the dangers for women in patriarchal societies by featuring a very apparent phenomenon. The story being based within a dystopia adds emphasis on how disastrous a world run without the aid of a woman would be. Notley s inclusion of situations that accentuate the gender hierarchy and the social constructs that force women to fulfill society s expectations work to establish the value of femininity. In using the flowers to represent femininity, Notley is able to delicately present the stakes of living without this attribute, making us have to read between the quotation marks and the lines to realize how horrid a life would be like without this sense of womanhood. Epic poetry also depends on the existence of a hero who must overcome adversity and, by doing so, exalt the values cherished by a people or nation (Mercadal). This statement does a good job of describing Alette s role within the story. All throughout she witnessed the burning of flowers and the disadvantages women faced all while having to overcome obstacles herself, but in the end, she was able to kill the tyrant and allow everything to C[o]me to light that morning so the flowers could grow anew and no longer experience this ... For example, in the work Unlocking Energy , choreographed by Mary Beth Van Dyke, the sustained arm movements initiated throughout her piece appeared to glide from one motion to the next with ease. Body dissatisfaction appears common among adolescents, but there is little information available on changes in prevalence over time. Purpose: We aim to study temporal changes in body dissatisfaction and eating disordered behavior between 1999 and 2007 and their relationship in high school aged youth. Methods: The National Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) data sets were downloaded from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the years 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, and 2007. A pooled dataset of variables common across the years was created (n= 64,270). Hypothesis: We hypothesize that the prevalence of body dissatisfaction and weight control behaviors will increase over time. We predict prevalence differences based on gender, ethnicity, and age. We also predict a correlation between body dissatisfaction and weight control behaviors. Data Analysis: The YRBS uses a multistage probability sampling design. We conducted univariate descriptive analysis with SPSS using case weights and multivariate hierarchical hypothesis testing with AM Statistical Software, which takes into account correlated errors within sampling units and utilizes design weights. Results: Consistency of body satisfaction and weight control behaviors was found over time. White adolescents and females seem at high risk of body dissatisfaction and eating disorder ...
