Similarities Between Big Daddy And Daddy Bee
Daddy Bee
When thinking about civil law we depict a set of interpretation of rules that codify laws that we
follow. Lawmakers are typically the essential individuals providing greater explanations of how
the law applies. In the films Big Daddy and Bee Movie I was able to analyze a representation of
Americas civil law systems with many different concepts. Big Daddy is a film where a man
named Sonny Koufax has spent his entire life avoiding responsibility. Then one day his girlfriend
dumps him so he decides to find a way to prove that he is ready to grow up. This is the moment
when a five year old kid name Julian, comes knocking at his apartment door claiming that he is the
father. Nevertheless, Julian is not actually Sonny s kid but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When thinking about these two films we can see how has civil law establish a representation of
torts, negligence, product liability, compensatory damages, and many other things that relate to the
analyzation of the American civil law portrayed in our media.
Torts in the bee movie were very visible. Being able to see that torts are typically application of
common law principles that develop over time through the accumulation of precedents raises an
awareness of what actually occurs in a case (Berk Lecture, 04/12/17). For example, in the Bee
Movie the scene where another bee named Adam Flayman stings an individual named Layton it
was not his intention to commit the injury but was still liable for doing so, because there was still
someone who got hurt, and in order for there to be a tort there has to be an injury. As a result,
having torts provide incentives for good conduct and disincentives for bad conduct, provides
compensation, and fairness in the objective over other mechanisms (Feinman,145) Thus said, with
Adam committing the injury he has to take responsibility for an action that he did.
Focusing on negligence in comparison to torts Big Daddy portraits a comparative negligence for
the fact that the plaintiff was at fault. The reason behind this is because Sonny new that keeping
the kid was not correct since he was not the legal guardian of the child. Thus in this case shows that
Sonny did not assume the risk after taking Julian in as his

Poetry Analysis Of We Real Cool By Gwendolyn Brooks
Poetry Analysis of We Real Cool By Gwendolyn Brooks
We Real Cool, by Gwendolyn Brooks is a fervent short poem that tells a story of teenage rebellion.
This poem is a formal verse ballad which uses simple sentences that create a steady meter giving the
poem a catchy jazz like quality. Although the poem is short, it packs a powerful message about
youth. Gwendolyn Brooks centered her works predominately around the African American
consciousness. During the 1960 s when the poem was written, many teens especially young
African American men felt misunderstood and like the world was set up for them to fail. On
the surface, it appears this poem is a mere description of young adults that are misjudged. The
deeper message of this poem addresses the dangers of peer pressure, and its detrimental effects
to self identity because of the disconnect between society and youth of that time. Peer pressure
can take place whenever people gather together and spend frequent time together. Most people
are subject to its effects and often experience it because, of shared experiences or they share the
same perspective on life. This becomes dangerous when a group has enough influence to dictate
an individual s way of thinking or behavior. When an individual is desperate to find a place to
belong, they will follow the crowd even if they know that they are participating in something
immoral; this is demonstrated in We Real Cool. In the opening lines of the poem, the reader

Henrietta Lacks Essay
Henrietta Lacks was born on August 1, 1920, in Roanoke, Virginia. Lacks died of cervical cancer
on October 4, 1951, at age 31. Cells taken from her body without her knowledge were used to form
the HeLa cell line. Lacks s case has sparked legal and ethical debates over the rights of an
individual to his or her genetic material and tissue.
Life and Death
Henrietta Lacks was born as Loretta Pleasant. At some point in time, she changed her name to
Henrietta. After her mother died in 1924, she was sent to live with her grandfather in a log cabin,
that had been the slave head quarters of a white ancestor s plantation. Henrietta shared a room with
her first cousin. When she was 14, they had a boy named Lawrence and a girl name Elsie. In 1941,

Lacks and HeLa.
The Lacks family has been honored at the Smithsonian Institution and the National Foundation for
Cancer Research. The HeLa case has raised questions about the legality of using genetic materials
without permission. Neither Lacks nor her family granted permission to harvest her cells, which
were then cloned and sold. The Lacks family has had limited success in gaining control of the HeLa
strain. In August 2013, an agreement between the family and the National Institutes of Health
granted the family acknowledgement in scientific papers and some oversight of the Lacks genome.
Henrietta Lacks Foundation
The Henrietta Lacks Foundation is a non profit organization founded by Rebecca Skloot, author of
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, who is donating a portion of her book s proceeds to the

The Impact Of Movie Release On Tourism Demand Over Countries
THE IMPACT OF MOVIE RELEASE ON TOURISM DEMAND OVER COUNTRIES:
EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF THAILAND TOURISM INDUSTRY
Saisang Apichatvorapong (Management)
Directed by Yeujun Yoon
ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this thesis is to find out more information about the impacts of movie release
that has on the tourism demand in Thailand. Since it has been proved that movies can influence
tourists to visit a location shown in the movies (Riley Van Doren, 1992), this paper will estimate the
number of tourist arrivals from movies that has the filming locations in Thailand and released
overseas based on the main economic factors such as gross domestic product (GDP), distance, and
relative price, which are often used in the tourism demand equation. Seeing that the Thai tourism
industry performs an important role in the national economy, accurate estimates of inbound tourism
from movie induced tourism can deliver useful information for both the government and private
sectors working in these areas.
Secondary data were collected for this study, where we based on 42 countries from the year
between 1997 to 2014. The study employs an econometric model of tourism demand and estimated
using the method of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS).
The result shows that 2 out of the 4 hypotheses were supported. As expected, it indicates that movie
release and GDP are positively related to tourist arrivals, while distance and relative prices are
negatively related to tourist arrivals. Hence, the higher the number

Colonial Virginia Compare And Contrast
Massachusetts and Virginia, Different Beginnings With the colonization of the New World came
financial, religious, and strategic opportunities. England answered this call in various ways as
British colonies began with certain interests in mind. Massachusetts and Virginia, besides being
started with royal charters, were planted in separate locations, with unique resources, and by
Englishmen with entirely different intentions.
The beginning of two unique early American colonies starts with two very different charters.
Virginia began in 1606 as the Virginia Company; a combination of the London and Plymouth
Companies. The intent was to establish a working colony to extract riches from the New World in
the form of natural resources. The strongly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Slaves cost around three times as much to purchase as indentured servants. With a vastly shortened
life span in Virginia and the availability of indentures, slavery made little economic sense. Why
would a plantation owner pay for a lifetime of work he would never receive?
By contrast, Massachusetts Puritans objected to slavery on moral grounds, and strove to protect
their social enclaves and towns from any outsiders. Not only would slaves prove a changing force
in New England, they would disrupt the carefully crafted structure of free labor and the local
church/town system.
Early Virginia and Massachusetts differed greatly in their respective political positions as well.
During the early 1620s, Virginia remained unprofitable in the eyes of stockholders in Britain. In
1624 King James I dissolved the London Company and Virginia became a royal colony. With the
collapse of the monarchy in Britain beginning in 1649, Virginia became a refuge for English
Cavaliers. Virginian governor William Berkeley and the Virginia Assembly even supported Charles
II in opposition to the Puritan English

Investigating The Mechanism Of Decomposition, Reaction...
Abstract:
Thermal analysis data is used to determine the mechanism of decomposition, reaction energetics,
and gas evolution of a material, specifically calcium silicate, also called limestone. Based on the
basic rules of thermodynamics, a hypothesis can be formed that, as limestone is heated, it
decomposes into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide due to heat transfer and the creation of
impurities. The addition of silicon oxide, or quartz, can also cause limestone to decompose in the
same manner. This was tested using experiments including Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA),
Mass Spectrometry (MS), and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Figures 1 3 confirm this
hypothesis through extensive logging of data. Future work can include data ... Show more content

Unlike pressure, temperature is a simple variable to alter. This is why it is preferred when
analyzing controlled reaction rates, such as heat transfer. An increase in temperature causes certain
materials, commonly salts, to decompose, controlling the free energy that is released. Salts, which
are unstable at high temperatures, are ideal subjects for thermal analysis. For example, when
CaCO3 decomposes into CaO and CO2, the nucleation of CaO causes a decrease in temperature
[that] represents the endothermic heat absorbed by the reaction. The decomposition of a material is
affected by various factors, such as the pressure exerted on the material while it is heated, the
amount of time the material is exposed to heat, and the rate of heat transfer. (Kingery).
On a macroscopic level, as limestone is heated, it will darken in color as it separates into
calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. As it decomposes, calcium oxide will be formed into a solid
and carbon dioxide will be released as a gas. The calcined powder will retain its darker color, but
would otherwise look similar to the initial limestone. Decomposition is a reaction to the impurities
caused by the heating of the material. (Thermogravimetric).
Experimental Methods:
After collecting samples and placing the calcium silicate, limestone, into each machine for the
duration of time needed to collect 230 data points, testing is completed. While in the

Baroque Music And The Renaissance Era
Baroque was an interesting period of time. It was originally originated from Rome, as a way to
glorify the Counter Reformation Catholic Church, and then spread beyond Italy to Spain, France,
Germany, Austria, the Low Countries, and England. In Baroque musicians started to practice
multiple instruments being used at the same time. As opposed to Renaissance era, Baroque art
mainly worked for pope, and important ruler throughout Europe. One of the new genre of music
was Opera. The aim of early opera was to reproduce elements of ancient Greek drama. Claudio
Monteverdi is considered to be the creator of opera as genre. Because of the main aim of early
opera to reproduce elements of ancient Greek drama, Claudio Monteverdi plots draw upon
stories from classical Greek mythology. Orfeo was one of his first work in opera genre, which
was is a rescue drama due to main hero rescuing his bride. From listening a short piece of it, to
me it does sound like heroic drama, as the opening music sounds very encouraging, I liked it. You
can clearly hear toccata to be sounded three times to show multiple use of instrumental sounds that
were available to a composer. Vivaldi, Violin Concerto in E major is great example of Baroque
music, best known composition in the entire repertoire. Each part is repeated at a softer dynamic
level. I personally love this piece, not only because I enjoy listening to violin, but also for its
tempo, alternation and contrast. Messiah, Behold, a Virgin shall

Milkman s Use Of Contrast And Mirror Images In Chapter Five
Chapter 5 presents a series of contrasts and mirror images that reflect the tenuous relationships
between various characters and provide conflicting perspectives on love, sex, and survival.
Milkman s pondering his impending death at the hands of Hagar, his distraught ex lover, at the
beginning of the chapter evokes many similar references to the presence of death throughout the
novel. For example, note that Milkman s picturing his own death as a spurt of wine red blood
foreshadows Hagar s funeral scene at the end of Chapter 13, when a sympathetic wino drops his
liquor bottle, spurting emerald glass and jungle red wine everywhere. Resigned to let Hagar kill
him if she wants to and can, Milkman is almost exhilarated by thoughts of death:

Essay on Horror Theories in Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2
Horror movies are based on humanity s disturbing, inner thoughts that are kept hidden by
sophisticated and civilized facades. The fact that people pay money to go watch their own race
be slaughtered shows that civilization has two sides. There are many theories as to why humans
act the way they do, such as Steven King s beast within and potential lyncher theories and Stanley
Solomon s exploration and romantic isolationism theories. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2
does a fantastic job of displaying these theories about the horror genre if one knows what they are
looking for. Learning about why humans react the way they do to horror films based on the
theories of well known psychologists and horror writers can teach humans a... Show more content

He also believed that since everybody is insane, insanity comes down to how insane someone is
(785). King s potential lyncher theory correlates with the beast within theory. This theory simply
explains that everyone has the potential to a masked murderer if they don t keep their dark sides
tamed (785). Stanley Solomon s exploration theory is a very well known theory in the horror
genre. The theory is the reasoning behind why characters in horror movies always act so
irrationally and brainless. Why is it that the defenseless girl always puts herself in a dangerous state
by exploring? Sometimes it is ironic that the victim is lurking around in a dangerous place because
they have yet to be informed that a monster is in their presence (795). Other times though, the
victim explores even though they know they are putting themselves in danger (795). As one
watches these movies, they typically pity the character. The fact that the viewer sympathizes the
victim for acting so absurd tells humans something about themselves. They want to explore as well
(795). As audiences watch, they want to cover their eyes in fear, but force themselves to watch the
film anyways. Solomon predicts in his theory that humans do this because the ultimate irrationality
of this typical moment of horror in the nightmare film represents our own subconscious desire to
confront our inevitable dread: to meet death before we really

How Did Harriet Tubman End Slavery
Tubman: her life battle of ending slavery
If you hear the dogs keep going. If you see the torches in the woods, keep going. If there s
shouting after you keep going. Don t ever stop. If you want a taste of freedom, keep going. Was
once said by Harriet Tubman. Harriet Tubman started out on a farm till she escaped and became
free. During her time as a free slavery she got slaves out of farm, rescued her family, served in the
civil war ,and most important the Underground Railroad. Harriet was involved in the civil war
because of the underground railroad.
Harriet was born into slavery around 1820 her real birthday is unknown but that is what
historians suspect. But in the late 1840s she successfully escape Dorchester County,Maryland
and made her way to Philadelphia. Tubman actually used the Underground Railroad to escape
slavery. Her brothers Harry and Ben went with her when she escaped but got scared and turned
around but she did not. When I found I had crossed that line, I looked at my hands to see if I was
the same person. There was such glory over everything; the sun came like gold through the trees,
and over the fields, and I felt like I was in heaven Harriet Tubman. After she escaped she she went

The Relevance and Authority of Scripture Essay
The relevance and authority of scripture from three different viewpoints first evangelical with its
strong emphasis on the Word of God it left little room to advance with the ever changing culture.
Second the Liberal movement was all about cultural relevance and used only as a record of history.
Each holds a valid argument Neo Orthodox however is a good blend of both cultural relevance and
scriptural foundation.
The Issues
Evangelical
Evangelicalism carried a strong emphasis on the Word of God. Which is in its own right a positive
to the movement. Bible is used as the center of the Christian faith, however where they went wrong
was saying that God is not moving anymore and what we have in this book is all that there is.
There is no need ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They degraded the authority and importance of the Holy Scriptures keeping Christianity relevant to
a changing society, even at the expense of its traditional practices this was the premise of the
liberal movement. Friedrich Schleiermacher believed that a person s private revelations of God
took precedence over their revelations from Scripture.
Neo Orthodox
Neo Orthodox was established immediately after World War 1 by Karl Barth and Emil Brunner,
it directly opposed the liberal movement. It said that experience is not everything, you must have
the foundation of the Bible. The main focus was on the gospel message which the Bible relayed,
not on the book itself (Lane 271) Neo Orthodox stands on the fact that sin is imamate and only
God can free one from sin. Karl Barth, the forerunner of Neo Orthodox thought, viewed the Bible
not as a history book or instructional for doctrine (2 Tim 2:15), but as a constantly changing event
that spoke to the heart of humanity (Lane 274)
The Implications
Liberalism was under the influence of cultural relevance and made every attempt to show that that
experience and not necessarily the factual part of religion is what made it real. Schleiermacher
separated the thinking of revelatory personal experience from that of rational due to the supposed
lack of rational thinking. By doing this he also protected the

The Acquisition Of Child Language
Introduction
The acquisition of child language has become a heated debate in which many discuss how and
when a child is able to learn both their first and even their second language. The critical period
hypothesis is a theory which claims that after a certain age children will no longer be able to
achieve a native level of fluency in any given language. This essay aims to dissect the evidence
which supports and contradicts this, and will draw upon studies and experiments conducted on
both human children and even more broadly in a number of different species. As children
approach the age of 17/18 months their ability to learn language is accelerated and they enter the
vocabulary spurt (lasting several months) during which they can acquire on average 10 new
naming words a day (Beverly A. GoldпЂЃeld and J. Steven Reznick, 1990, Early lexical
acquisition: rate, content, and the vocabulary spurt, Journal of Child Language). This phenomena
appears to be limited to children of this age, however could this occur in older children or
adolescents, who have experienced a lack of exposure to language or, who are attempting to learn
a second language? Is this speed of acquisition solely restricted to those in this particular ( sensitive
) stage of their lives?
The Critical Period Outlined
The concept of a critical period has been defined in many different ways, however, certain criteria
are often seen in most of the definitions discussed over time: the idea that this period is

Pain And Emergency Room Visit
CC
Betsy is a 31 year old female here today to discuss hand pain and an emergency room visit.

The patient tells me she was cutting an avocado on September 17th. She said she was using a
knife to remove the pit of the avocado and was holding the avocado in her left hand, the knife in

She said the wound was to the area above her fifth metatarsal, more on the palm side, than on the
finger side itself. She said right away it was extremely painful and she noticed after some of the
pain dissipated, that she was feeling a little numbness there. She said initially she did think much
of it, but when she talked to her husband about it, he was worried about the numbness and
prompted her to go to the emergency room. She was evaluated at Exeter Hospital. There, the
wound was irrigated. She had two sutures placed. She did receive a tetanus vaccine while there,
as well and was sent home. She was told that perhaps there was a mild injury to the nerve, but
they did not think that there was a true severing of that nerve. She said she did not think much of

The Sonnets Of Shakespeare s Sonnets
There are 154 sonnets Shakespeare wrote, though it is popularly theorized that he himself did not
publish them; they were published by a man named Thomas Thorpe, who is said to have stolen
the sonnets. This explains the unrefined lines found in several of the sonnets. More evidence for
this theory stems from the idea that Shakespeare s heterosexuality had to be proven by publishing
the sonnets and claiming that each one about romance was written for or about women. It is not
known what Shakespeare s true sexuality was, though in his time being homosexual was viewed
as a grave sin and would have wiped Shakespeare s name from fame. Ernest Sutherland Bates says
in his publication The Sincerity of Shakespeare s Sonnets, The criterion of... Show more content on

Many of the sonnets are romantic, with more than half appearing to be written about a romance
with a young man, and the rest are written about a woman referred to often as the Dark Lady. This
paper will be concerned with Sonnet 7.
Shakespeare s Sonnet 7 strays from the main theme of love and romance, as it is mainly about
youth turning into old age. The first four are as follows: Lo! in the orient when the gracious light
/ Lifts up his burning head, each under eye / Doth homage to his new appearing sight / Serving
with looks his sacred majesty. Already the theme of youth fleeing into old age can be seen; the
gracious light refers to the sun, which rises in the east and sets in the west. The orient refers to the
East, and so this line depicts someone young. This is reinforced by the phrase lifts up his burning
head in the second line, as it characterizes the sun as just rising up over the horizon, burning
bright and full of energy for the day ahead. In the third line, his new appearing sight, also
reinforces this imagery of the sun rising each day. The final line in this rhyme pattern implies that
others look at the young man with respect, as shown by the words his sacred majesty. There has
always been a respect for the willpower and determination of young people, and in writing, art, and
theatre the young are often

Ethnic Groups in Pakistan
Since its birth, Pakistan has been home to various multi ethnic societies and groups in all its
provinces. The activities of these groups have had varying impact on the political history of
Pakistan. This paper analyses the impact of the Sindhi ethnic society (also known as the Jeeya
Sindh movement ) on the political history of Pakistan during the 1970s. I then provide a critique of
the government s response to the demands of these movements and then suggest my opinion as to
how the government should have reacted so as to have a better outcome.
At the creation of Pakistan, a large number Mohajirs migrated from India and settled in to Sindh.
From 1947 to 1951 nearly 1 million Mohajirs settled into Sindh (Rais, Rasul Buksh). They had also

transform into political parties. This had to different outcomes, groups with similar interests joined
together to become stronger parties. During this process they also learned to co operate with each
other and settle differences within themselves. The other outcome of formation of groups was that
due to difference in interests of different groups, political parties could not work together hence the
country landed into inconsistent leadership. There was also alienation due to large majority of one
community. Above all these differences in parties lead to unequal development for different groups
in fields of government jobs, education and urbanization.
The states response to the Sindhi nationalist movement has been mixed. Z.A Bhutto s introduction
of the quota system to safeguard the interests of the Sindhis in my opinion was biased as it
aggravated intra provincial ethnic divides in Pakistan. In my opinion, the government shouldn t
have imposed a quota, it instead should have aided the Sindhis in forms of educational institutions
and training so that they could compete with the Mohajirs in a fair manner. As the competition
would have been fair, it would have been unlikely for the Mohajirs to start a movement of their own.
Another main mistake by Z.A Bhutto was the introduction of Urdu as the official language in

A P by John Updike and A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner are two short stories which reveal
to be different, odd and even bizarre in several aspects; conversely, on the other hand, they are
very similar. One similarity for John Updike, William Faulkner and many other authors, is being
that they follow the three act structure, which helps to write their story more effectively.
Furthermore, in analyzing A P and A Rose for Emily, we see that both share an overarching theme;
however, their symbolism and conflicts are different, yet finally, in the end, you will see which one

Herman Boone Belonging
Question 1: Personal power is when one impacts another person or group of people through their
actions and behaviour. This is depicted in Coach Herman Boone as he uses his power as coach
to teach the white team and coloured team to work together to create the perfect team. It is also
seen when Louie Lastik sat with the people with coloured skin at lunch instead of with the
people with white skin . Social power is when a group of people have are more dominant or have
a higher status from something. In the movie Remember the titans, the people with white skin
have more social power at the beginning as they are considered better than people with coloured
skin. Institutional power is when individuals have more power than others from their experience
and knowledge. Institutional power is portrayed through the two coaches (Boone and Yoast) as
they have more power than the students since they have studied and finished. Question 2:
Belonging is the ability to feel wanted and included in a group, team or with other people. It is
imperative that the younger generation understand the concept of belonging as it will help them
find themselves as they grow. Personally, I had difficulty finding friends that I felt comfortable
with in primary school. However, after entering high school and finding an amazing group of
people who accept and understand me, both my emotional and mental well being has improved
greatly. Belonging is a vital component to have to ensure a positive well being.

Narrative Analysis Of Persepolis
In Persepolis, a graphic autobiography written by Marjane Satrapi, Satrapi uses the graphic
memoir as a medium to dissolve Western notions of Iranians. By presenting her life as a typical
Iranian child living amid the Islamic revolution and Iran Iraq Gulf War, Satrapi makes it difficult
for the reader to hold onto preconceived beliefs that Iranians are all part of a rigid fundamentalist
movement. Persepolis, told from the perspective of Marjane the narrator, and the perspectives of
her mother, father, and other family members, takes the reader on a very personal journey. Satrapi
recounts her experiences growing up amidst the political changes in post revolutionary Iran,
offering the reader an in depth experience of a time during which students are being separated by
gender lines, women s rights are being gradually eroded, and people are getting arrested and
executed simply for being suspected of rebelling against the regime. By using the medium of the
graphic novel, which marries simple black and white images, Point of view of the narrator, and
characterization, Satrapi is able to effectively communicate via both illustrative symbolism and
language the struggle for freedom and autonomy in post revolutionary Iran, a struggle otherwise
impossible to convey via language alone.
Satrapi s choice of graphic novel as medium is fundamental to portraying the struggle for autonomy
and freedom in post revolutionary Iran. Satrapi utilizes the graphics in the memoir as an innovative

My Grandfather Is A Hero
When you finally realize that someone in your family is a hero to not just one person, but to
many, your view of the world changes a bit. Especially when that person is a grandparent. In
March of 2014, my grandfather, Raymond Weber, became a town hero in Hillsboro, ND. Early
that morning, I got up and said hello to my grandfather. He was just starting his day, and his day
was busy. As Police Chief of Hillsboro, he was required to clean out the town armory and make
sure all the squad cars were in working order (making sure the lights and sirens worked). He did
this early in the morning and then came back to pick me up so that I could shadow him as he
worked. We did miscellaneous jobs all day. My grandfather had me working on the jobs that he
didn t want to do at the office while he did the real work of paperwork and signing of other
important papers that I couldn t understand. The real surprise came later that night when we went
into the town to do the final round of the shift. My grandfather loaded me up in the squad car
and started it. We drove around town on his designated route before he was allowed to punch out
and go home for the night. After we finished, we stopped at the precinct so that he could make
sure that there was someone there for the next shift. We then proceeded to head back home. My
grandfather decided that it would be nice for us to go get something to eat, so we stopped at a
nearby convenience store. We went in and bought some pizza

How Did Walt Disney Influence The World
Whenever I go on a ride, I m always thinking of what s wrong with the thing and how it can be

he can make something better. He looked at things in a different way than others, and would think
differently than others. Walt Disneywas an American motion picture and television producer, who
is famous as a pioneer for cartoons, and the co founder of Walt Disney Productions, and
drastically influenced the modern day animated cartoons and the film industry. Walt Disney was
born on December 5, 1901 in Hermosa Illinois. His father Elias Disney was of irish canadian

James Ponsoldt s The End Of The Tour
The End of the Tour directed by James Ponsoldt follows the story of an interview done by David
Lipsky about David Wallace. The all the scenes in this movie are very intimate and give the
feeling that they viewer is right there as a fly on the wall. This feeling is very important for this
movie because David Wallace is a very private and socially awkward person. These scenes reflect
his preference of social settings in his famous and private life. A quote from the movie that contains
the essence of the filmis when Wallace tells Lipsky that he doesn t want to be like him. It is clear
that Lipsky looks up to Wallace and at one point in the movie forces Wallace to face his biggest

It is ironic that his big break comes from a book about Wallace s life, one which Wallace would
probably not approved of being published in his life time. A cut between scenes that captured
the soul of this movie is when Lipsky is holding his book signing and the director choose to
show the shot of Wallace care free dancing with the Baptists. This is also one of the final scenes
in the movie, which is appropriate because it begins with Wallace s suicide and ends with a time
and moment in his life he felt the most alive. A big theme in this film is loneliness and more
importantly the fear of abandonment. Wallace does not let himself open up in fear of being
abandoned or rejected, when he does have friends weather that be an ex girlfriend, dog or car
Wallace proved himself loyal and would not change or dessert them. That fierce guard is part of
the reason I don t think a viewer could classify Lipsky and Wallace friends. From the beginning
of the movie we know that Lipsky is not the most faithful with the women in his life, Wallace is
sensitive to that and knows that if he opens up to him he could betray him like he did others in the
past. When Wallace finally feels them moving on the path of friendship Lipsky goes and flirts with
Wallace s ex causing Wallace to once again begin

Comparison Of Football Vs. Soccer
The football versus soccer fight rages on for years now and has sparked quite some controversy. Let
s start by saying that I will call football, as it is known around the world, soccer. What is often
classified as American Football for this essay will be called football. Some of the controversies that
have been sparked between the two are ones such as; why is it called footballwhen its only one
player on the team is allowed to use his feet and is only done on small occasions? , which is
more physical? and issues as simple as which of the two requires more endurance. Most people
may look at it one way when there is also another way to view these two legendary sports as I call
them. As there may be differences between the two, there are also similarities. There are a lot of
debates that goes on regards with football and soccer. Some consider that soccer is another name
of football while others may argue that soccer is entirely different from football. In this paper a
compare and contrast the two famous games, football and soccer will set us on a clearer path.

The Last Message From Earth
THE LAST MESSAGE FROM EARTH is a sci fi thriller that features a compelling plot with a
strong moral dilemma. The script merits consider, but there are still areas that would benefit from
more development.
First, the goal is clear and the stakes are high. The opening sequence is strong with the
disappearance of young Danny. Immediately the audience is emotionally invested in the outcome.
The script does a good job of establishing the goal for the parents. The structure works well. The
opening establishes the ordinary life of Amelia and John Hart. It s clear they are scientists or

disappearance of Danny.

Even in a short, there could be an added scene that shows Amelia re building the machine, as well
as showing her physical and emotional struggle with building it. Perhaps a montage could highlight
the stages of the progress, as well as showing Amelia sleeping with the Teddy Bearuntil she
completes the machine. One might have her try it and it doesn t work. This would elevate the
struggle and anticipation. Then she figures it out. However, it s not entirely clear how she would
be able to recreate the exact same spot where Danny is.
The teddy bear is a nice plant and symbolic of the parents inner conflict. It s a nice visual
reminder of Danny. The use of the teddy bear also provides for a clever payoff when Amelia find
finds the thumb drive. However, one small note about the Teddy Bear. It might be more
emotionally engaging if the Teddy Bear is given to Danny when he s born vs. first seeing the teddy
bear when he disappears.
What s not clear is the motivation for Agent Roger to help the parents. Consider showing his
struggle with his decision, or maybe he pulls out a picture of his own son. The audience will
understand his moral dilemma. They will understand he s thinking about what he would do if it
were his son.
Rogers helps, but reports them missing. One assumes he s trying to cover his tracks by reporting
them gone, but hoping they already escaped. However, it s not entirely clear. Or perhaps he thought
they would escape through the side exits. Try to

Abraham Maslow s Work On Social Psychology
Abraham H. Maslow was born on April 1, 1908 in New York City, and passed away on June 8,
1970 in California. Dr. Maslow received all three (A.B., M.A. and Ph.D.) of his degrees from the
University of Wisconsin. He was also the founding editor of the Journal of Humanistic Psychology
and the Journal of Transpersonal Psychology. (Professional biography, 1970, p. 98). As a graduate
student enthusiastic by the work of Alfred Adler and John B. Watson, Maslow became a
dedicated behaviorist, and pursued his socialistic and humanistic (Maslow, 2000, p. 129). From
1933 to late 1936, Dr. Maslow spent most of his research on monkeys and primates, his topic of
focus revolved around motivation, hunger, social interaction, sexual behaviour, and learning and
reproduction of learned behaviours. In 1937, Dr. Maslow began his work on social psychology,
and was a prominent figure and founder of individual psychology as well. His focus during that
time included personality and culture, dominance, and personality and social behaviour in women.
At the start of 1941, it was evident that his works began to broaden and he delved into abnormal
psychology, leadership, human motivation, and developed his famous theory of self actualization in

In Beth Bailey s Sex in the Heartland, She talks about the sexual revolution and how this played
a huge role in the 1960 s counterculture. She had said that Woodstock was where they promoted
the idea of free love and the pill , this then introduced the breaking down of demonized
homosexuality. Most of the people there had been very free spirited and did whatever they
wanted, hence how the fences had been forced down and couldn t stop free admission.
Homosexuality was more accepting after Woodstock. People had realized that it didn t matter
what sexuality you were and this was the start of a better society when it came to gay
acceptance. This was a counterculture because most of this wasn t introduced at this time and
people that were of different sexuality felt more comfortable in that type of environment of
peace. All kind of sexuality was apart of the social norm and it was seen as more casual at that
point. There were many ideas of free love and new ideas of sexual representation that were never

The Causes And Consequences Of Anxiety
Anxiety is defined as a condition, or unpleasant emotional state that involves feelings of worry,
tension and apprehension (Bekker et al, 2003). To attempt to discover the causes of anxiety, and
what areas of the brain are involved, Jeffrey Grays Behavioural Inhibition System (1982) will be
discussed. Following this, further exploration of these beliefs by Carver and White (1994) will be
explored. In addition to these, it is also suggested that anxietyis correlated to hippocampus and
amygdala formation and volume, therefore, this idea will also be explored, other factors that may
influence anxiety will also be discussed in order to consider other potential causes and
consequences of anxiety. After review and consideration of this evidence, the question To what
extent can individual differences in anxiety be explained by variation in the Behavioural Inhibition
System will be explained.
Jeffrey Grays (1982) Behavioural Activation System (BAS) and Behavioural Inhibition System

like many other companies, has had its ups and downs throughout the years of its existence.
Their first cruise ship, the TSS Mardi Gras, ran aground on a sandbar during its inaugural
voyage. (Business Insider, p.1) In 1998 one of the company s cruise ships had a fire in the
laundry room that led to the ship losing its course. However, 2012 and 2013 were especially hard
for the company due to two incidents that caused the company to lose both revenue and the
confidence of their shareholders and customers. In their 2012 Annual report, the company states

How To Read Literature Like A Professor Chapter Summary
This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald is an extremely renowned coming of age novel. It
portrays life in the roaring 20 s, following the life of a young Amory Blaine. Amory faces
obstacles from devastation by wealthy women to fighting in World War I and losing some of his
closest friends. Reading How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster
emphasized the main ideas throughout Amory s life. The two main ideas that stood out in
Fitzgerald s book, was the quest taken by Amory Blaine and what Foster calls baptisms throughout
the story. Foster s very first chapter explains the importance of a quest; however the quest may not
involve a knight, a dangerous road, a Holy Grail (whatever one of those may be), at least one
dragon,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Amory continues to rebirth throughout the book when the challenges that come his way knock
him down. After falling in love with a particular girl names Rosalind, the couple become one and
Amory proposes. Rosalind s mother persuades Rosalind to end the marriage because Amory was
not wealthy enough and Amory falls into a deep depression. He was reborn a man who drank
alcohol profusely, left in his tears and rethinking marriage. After he got back on his feet, Amory
met a frivolous young girl name Eleanor. She was passionate for reading and just as intelligent
as Amory, although she believed that no one could be. However, after Eleanor revealed her
recklessness by almost riding off a cliff on her horse, Amory realized that he had loved himself
in Eleanor, so now what he hated was only a mirror (Fitzgerald 223). Amory was reborn a poor
kid roaming the streets of Atlantic City. Most of the main character s baptisms happen to be by
women and Amory is reborn with an egoistic layer ripped off, but coming closer to becoming the
fundamental Amory . This Side Of Paradise seamlessly portrays life in the 1920 s, when the
world was evolving into what it is today. New ideas were floating around and people were trying
to find where they fit in, just as Amory Blaine is. Just like many of the people living during that
time, Amory fell from being a young rich man to a poor opinionated intellectual. This book
highlights the idea that sometimes for someone to find their true self, they must be knocked down
and pick themselves

Lawmakers are typically the essential individuals providing greater explanations of how the law applies. In the films Big Daddy and Bee Movie I was able to analyze a representation of Americas civil law systems with many different concepts. Big Daddy is a film where a man named Sonny Koufax has spent his entire life avoiding responsibility. Then one day his girlfriend dumps him so he decides to find a way to prove that he is ready to grow up. This is the moment when a five year old kid name Julian, comes knocking at his apartment door claiming that he is the father. Nevertheless, Julian is not actually Sonny s kid but ... When thinking about these two films we can see how has civil law establish a representation of torts, negligence, product liability, compensatory damages, and many other things that relate to the analyzation of the American civil law portrayed in our media. Torts in the bee movie were very visible. Being able to see that torts are typically application of common law principles that develop over time through the accumulation of precedents raises an awareness of what actually occurs in a case (Berk Lecture, 04/12/17). For example, in the Bee Movie the scene where another bee named Adam Flayman stings an individual named Layton it was not his intention to commit the injury but was still liable for doing so, because there was still someone who got hurt, and in order for there to be a tort there has to be an injury. As a result, having torts provide incentives for good conduct and disincentives for bad conduct, provides compensation, and fairness in the objective over other mechanisms (Feinman,145) Thus said, with Adam committing the injury he has to take responsibility for an action that he did. Focusing on negligence in comparison to torts Big Daddy portraits a comparative negligence for the fact that the plaintiff was at fault. The reason behind this is because Sonny new that keeping the kid was not correct since he was not the legal guardian of the child. Thus in this case shows that Sonny did not assume the risk after taking Julian in as his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Poetry Analysis Of We Real Cool By Gwendolyn Brooks Poetry Analysis of We Real Cool By Gwendolyn Brooks We Real Cool, by Gwendolyn Brooks is a fervent short poem that tells a story of teenage rebellion. This poem is a formal verse ballad which uses simple sentences that create a steady meter giving the poem a catchy jazz like quality. Although the poem is short, it packs a powerful message about youth. Gwendolyn Brooks centered her works predominately around the African American consciousness. During the 1960 s when the poem was written, many teens especially young African American men felt misunderstood and like the world was set up for them to fail. On the surface, it appears this poem is a mere description of young adults that are misjudged. The deeper message of this poem addresses the dangers of peer pressure, and its detrimental effects to self identity because of the disconnect between society and youth of that time. Peer pressure can take place whenever people gather together and spend frequent time together. Most people are subject to its effects and often experience it because, of shared experiences or they share the same perspective on life. This becomes dangerous when a group has enough influence to dictate an individual s way of thinking or behavior. When an individual is desperate to find a place to belong, they will follow the crowd even if they know that they are participating in something immoral; this is demonstrated in We Real Cool. In the opening lines of the poem, the reader ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Impact Of Movie Release On Tourism Demand Over Countries THE IMPACT OF MOVIE RELEASE ON TOURISM DEMAND OVER COUNTRIES: EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS OF THAILAND TOURISM INDUSTRY Saisang Apichatvorapong (Management) Directed by Yeujun Yoon ABSTRACT The main purpose of this thesis is to find out more information about the impacts of movie release that has on the tourism demand in Thailand. Since it has been proved that movies can influence tourists to visit a location shown in the movies (Riley Van Doren, 1992), this paper will estimate the number of tourist arrivals from movies that has the filming locations in Thailand and released overseas based on the main economic factors such as gross domestic product (GDP), distance, and relative price, which are often used in the tourism demand equation. Seeing that the Thai tourism industry performs an important role in the national economy, accurate estimates of inbound tourism from movie induced tourism can deliver useful information for both the government and private sectors working in these areas. Secondary data were collected for this study, where we based on 42 countries from the year between 1997 to 2014. The study employs an econometric model of tourism demand and estimated using the method of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). The result shows that 2 out of the 4 hypotheses were supported. As expected, it indicates that movie release and GDP are positively related to tourist arrivals, while distance and relative prices are negatively related to tourist arrivals. • 11. Investigating The Mechanism Of Decomposition, Reaction... Abstract: Thermal analysis data is used to determine the mechanism of decomposition, reaction energetics, and gas evolution of a material, specifically calcium silicate, also called limestone. Based on the basic rules of thermodynamics, a hypothesis can be formed that, as limestone is heated, it decomposes into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide due to heat transfer and the creation of impurities. The addition of silicon oxide, or quartz, can also cause limestone to decompose in the same manner. This was tested using experiments including Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Mass Spectrometry (MS), and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC). Figures 1 3 confirm this hypothesis through extensive logging of data. Future work can include data ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike pressure, temperature is a simple variable to alter. This is why it is preferred when analyzing controlled reaction rates, such as heat transfer. An increase in temperature causes certain materials, commonly salts, to decompose, controlling the free energy that is released. Salts, which are unstable at high temperatures, are ideal subjects for thermal analysis. For example, when CaCO3 decomposes into CaO and CO2, the nucleation of CaO causes a decrease in temperature [that] represents the endothermic heat absorbed by the reaction. The decomposition of a material is affected by various factors, such as the pressure exerted on the material while it is heated, the amount of time the material is exposed to heat, and the rate of heat transfer. (Kingery). On a macroscopic level, as limestone is heated, it will darken in color as it separates into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. As it decomposes, calcium oxide will be formed into a solid and carbon dioxide will be released as a gas. The calcined powder will retain its darker color, but would otherwise look similar to the initial limestone. Decomposition is a reaction to the impurities caused by the heating of the material. • 12. Baroque Music And The Renaissance Era Baroque was an interesting period of time. It was originally originated from Rome, as a way to glorify the Counter Reformation Catholic Church, and then spread beyond Italy to Spain, France, Germany, Austria, the Low Countries, and England. In Baroque musicians started to practice multiple instruments being used at the same time. As opposed to Renaissance era, Baroque art mainly worked for pope, and important ruler throughout Europe. One of the new genre of music was Opera. The aim of early opera was to reproduce elements of ancient Greek drama. Claudio Monteverdi is considered to be the creator of opera as genre. Because of the main aim of early opera to reproduce elements of ancient Greek drama, Claudio Monteverdi plots draw upon stories from classical Greek mythology. Orfeo was one of his first work in opera genre, which was is a rescue drama due to main hero rescuing his bride. From listening a short piece of it, to me it does sound like heroic drama, as the opening music sounds very encouraging, I liked it. You can clearly hear toccata to be sounded three times to show multiple use of instrumental sounds that were available to a composer. Vivaldi, Violin Concerto in E major is great example of Baroque music, best known composition in the entire repertoire. Each part is repeated at a softer dynamic level. This theory simply explains that everyone has the potential to a masked murderer if they don t keep their dark sides tamed (785). Stanley Solomon s exploration theory is a very well known theory in the horror genre. The theory is the reasoning behind why characters in horror movies always act so irrationally and brainless. Why is it that the defenseless girl always puts herself in a dangerous state by exploring? Sometimes it is ironic that the victim is lurking around in a dangerous place because they have yet to be informed that a monster is in their presence (795). Other times though, the victim explores even though they know they are putting themselves in danger (795). As one watches these movies, they typically pity the character. The fact that the viewer sympathizes the victim for acting so absurd tells humans something about themselves. They want to explore as well (795). As audiences watch, they want to cover their eyes in fear, but force themselves to watch the film anyways. Solomon predicts in his theory that humans do this because the ultimate irrationality of this typical moment of horror in the nightmare film represents our own subconscious desire to confront our inevitable dread: to meet death before we really ... The Acquisition Of Child Language Introduction The acquisition of child language has become a heated debate in which many discuss how and when a child is able to learn both their first and even their second language. The critical period hypothesis is a theory which claims that after a certain age children will no longer be able to achieve a native level of fluency in any given language. This essay aims to dissect the evidence which supports and contradicts this, and will draw upon studies and experiments conducted on both human children and even more broadly in a number of different species. As children approach the age of 17/18 months their ability to learn language is accelerated and they enter the vocabulary spurt (lasting several months) during which they can acquire on average 10 new naming words a day (Beverly A. GoldпЂЃeld and J. Steven Reznick, 1990, Early lexical acquisition: rate, content, and the vocabulary spurt, Journal of Child Language). This phenomena appears to be limited to children of this age, however could this occur in older children or adolescents, who have experienced a lack of exposure to language or, who are attempting to learn a second language? Is this speed of acquisition solely restricted to those in this particular ( sensitive ) stage of their lives? • 26. The Sonnets Of Shakespeare s Sonnets There are 154 sonnets Shakespeare wrote, though it is popularly theorized that he himself did not publish them; they were published by a man named Thomas Thorpe, who is said to have stolen the sonnets. This explains the unrefined lines found in several of the sonnets. More evidence for this theory stems from the idea that Shakespeare s heterosexuality had to be proven by publishing the sonnets and claiming that each one about romance was written for or about women. It is not known what Shakespeare s true sexuality was, though in his time being homosexual was viewed as a grave sin and would have wiped Shakespeare s name from fame. Many of the sonnets are romantic, with more than half appearing to be written about a romance with a young man, and the rest are written about a woman referred to often as the Dark Lady. This paper will be concerned with Sonnet 7. Shakespeare s Sonnet 7 strays from the main theme of love and romance, as it is mainly about youth turning into old age. The first four are as follows: Lo! in the orient when the gracious light / Lifts up his burning head, each under eye / Doth homage to his new appearing sight / Serving with looks his sacred majesty. Already the theme of youth fleeing into old age can be seen; the gracious light refers to the sun, which rises in the east and sets in the west. The orient refers to the East, and so this line depicts someone young. This is reinforced by the phrase lifts up his burning head in the second line, as it characterizes the sun as just rising up over the horizon, burning bright and full of energy for the day ahead. In the third line, his new appearing sight, also reinforces this imagery of the sun rising each day. The final line in this rhyme pattern implies that others look at the young man with respect, as shown by the words his sacred majesty. There has always been a respect for the willpower and determination of young people, and in writing, art, and theatre the young are often ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The activities of these groups have had varying impact on the political history of Pakistan. This paper analyses the impact of the Sindhi ethnic society (also known as the Jeeya Sindh movement ) on the political history of Pakistan during the 1970s. I then provide a critique of the government s response to the demands of these movements and then suggest my opinion as to how the government should have reacted so as to have a better outcome. This had to different outcomes, groups with similar interests joined together to become stronger parties. During this process they also learned to co operate with each other and settle differences within themselves. The other outcome of formation of groups was that due to difference in interests of different groups, political parties could not work together hence the country landed into inconsistent leadership. There was also alienation due to large majority of one community. Above all these differences in parties lead to unequal development for different groups in fields of government jobs, education and urbanization. The states response to the Sindhi nationalist movement has been mixed. Z.A Bhutto s introduction of the quota system to safeguard the interests of the Sindhis in my opinion was biased as it aggravated intra provincial ethnic divides in Pakistan. In my opinion, the government shouldn t have imposed a quota, it instead should have aided the Sindhis in forms of educational institutions and training so that they could compete with the Mohajirs in a fair manner. As the competition would have been fair, it would have been unlikely for the Mohajirs to start a movement of their own. Persepolis, told from the perspective of Marjane the narrator, and the perspectives of her mother, father, and other family members, takes the reader on a very personal journey. This feeling is very important for this movie because David Wallace is a very private and socially awkward person. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is ironic that his big break comes from a book about Wallace s life, one which Wallace would probably not approved of being published in his life time. A cut between scenes that captured the soul of this movie is when Lipsky is holding his book signing and the director choose to show the shot of Wallace care free dancing with the Baptists. This is also one of the final scenes in the movie, which is appropriate because it begins with Wallace s suicide and ends with a time and moment in his life he felt the most alive. A big theme in this film is loneliness and more importantly the fear of abandonment. Wallace does not let himself open up in fear of being abandoned or rejected, when he does have friends weather that be an ex girlfriend, dog or car Wallace proved himself loyal and would not change or dessert them. That fierce guard is part of the reason I don t think a viewer could classify Lipsky and Wallace friends. From the beginning of the movie we know that Lipsky is not the most faithful with the women in his life, Wallace is sensitive to that and knows that if he opens up to him he could betray him like he did others in the past. Most of the people there had been very free spirited and did whatever they wanted, hence how the fences had been forced down and couldn t stop free admission. Homosexuality was more accepting after Woodstock. People had realized that it didn t matter what sexuality you were and this was the start of a better society when it came to gay acceptance. This was a counterculture because most of this wasn t introduced at this time and people that were of different sexuality felt more comfortable in that type of environment of peace.
