emotional contagion.
Schoenewolf (1990, cited in Barsade, 2002, pp. 4) defined emotional contagion as a process in
which a person or group influences the emotions or behaviour of another person or group through
the conscious or unconscious induction of emotion states and behavioural attitude . This description
has been further supported by Hatfield, Cacioppo, Rapson (1992, pp. 153 154) who stated that
emotional contagion is when one unconsciously imitates the characteristics of another person,
therefore allowing oneself to feel and to be influenced by these emotions.
Current Study
This research aims to establish what strategy is most efficient in restricting the passing of emotions
between people. Participants, referred to as therapists in this study, listened to clients describing a
positive or negative situation. Self reports and facial affect were used as a means of measurement.
Participation engagement was also taken into consideration.
Two cognitive strategies most relevant to reducing emotional contagion identified by Gross and
Thomson (2007) are;

payloads for application layer network information are urgently required. The most important
technology for fast payload inspection is an efficient multipattern matching algorithm, which
performs exact string matching between packets and a large set of predefined patterns. This paper
proposes a novel Enhanced Hierarchical Multipattern Matching Algorithm (EHMA) for packet
inspection. Based on the occurrence frequency of grams, a small set of the most frequent grams is
discovered and used in the EHMA. EHMA is a two tier and cluster wise matching algorithm, which
significantly reduces the amount of external memory accesses and the capacity of memory. Using a
skippable scan strategy, EHMA speeds up the scanning process. Furthermore, independent of
parallel and special functions, EHMA is very simple and therefore practical for both software and
hardware implementations. Simulation results reveal that EHMA significantly improves the
matching performance. The speed of EHMA is about 0.89 1,161 times faster than that of current
matching algorithms. Even under real life intense attack, EHMA still performs well.

shattered. There is a lot of symbolism found in this short story. The symbolism between his wife
Faith and his spiritual faith is very obvious and it does not take a great leap of imagination to
connect the two. Brown has only been married for three months which could signify that he has
only recently thought of his place in heaven as secure. (Connolly) Brown also believes that faith is
his way to heaven; this is shown when he bargains with himself that once he finishes this one evil
errand he will follow her to heaven. The relationship between Brown and the forest is one of a
curious Human exploring the world of sin. His errand is never specified in the text, but he
essentially goes looking for the devil. He even states that Faith kept me back a while. This shows
some reluctance, but faith is still not enough to keep him from his task. Often in fiction the forest

Wang Lung Theme
Wang Lung wasn t very close to his sons when they were growing up. Wang just kinda assumed
that O lan was going to take care of them so he didn t really worry about them when they were
growing up. He was more worried about his land and keeping his entire family alive. The sons are
not only distant from their father, but they are also distant from each other. This created continual
discord throughout the entire family. This might be due to the fact that they don t have very much
in common and they are all very different, especially due to the way they were raised. The three

Sooner or later the second son turned into Wang s personal Steward what it came to the money.
The third son resembles the strength of Wang Lung. The third son fought for what he wanted
and what he thought was right, and that is what Wang Lung did for his family the entire time.
Wang Lung kind of drove his third son away, because he became begrudged when he realized he
was too old for Pear Blossom, and his youngest son was the perfect age for her, and so he showed
