Cultural Awareness And Delivery Of Appropriate Care
Cultural Heritage As health care providers, it is imperative to acknowledge the relationship between
cultural awareness and delivery of appropriate care. The first step in creating cultural awareness may
begin by the provider assessing their own cultural heritage, and it s views on health and wellness.
Reflection on one s cultural heritage requires knowledge and understanding of the concept of cultural
heritage itself. When assessing my cultural heritage, I first examined the factors that are identified as
contributors to one s heritage. According the Joint Commission (2010), culture can be defined as
integrated patterns of human behavior that include the language, thoughts, communications, actions,
customs, beliefs, values, and institutions of racial, ethnic, religious, or social groups . Once reflecting
on these patterns, I concluded that my ethnicity and religious upbringing were the two components of
my heritage that most greatly affected my behaviors. I belong to the Franco American, English, and
Scottish ethnic groups. However, being predominately Franco American and having closer
relationships with my family members of this ethnicity as a child, I mainly identify with this group.
Since their migration to various locations in New England; primarily throughout the late eighteen
hundreds to early nineteen hundreds, French Canadians have been recognized for their rigorous work
ethics. Many immigrant men, women, and children worked in mills after relocating to the

Moral Of Huckleberry Finn
Huckleberry Finn is being looked after by the widow Douglas, who tries to adapt him to a civilized
life. One day his drunken father shows up, and both him and his father decide to make an outing
together. But Huckleberry escapes from his father and arranges to make it look like he had been killed.
After a few days he meets Jim, the servant of the widow Douglas. Jim is on the run north where he
thinks he can buy his family freedom. Together they develop a unique friendship during their journey
down Mississippi on a raft.
When Huckleberry later has the opportunity to easily get the reward, 300 USD, that s on top of Jim s
head, he chooses instead to protect his newfound friend.

Racism and slavery is the main theme of the book.
The book .....
I feel like the word ¨nigger¨ is in the book for a reason. Mark Twain put the word in there to get the
readers attention, which it does.
I think Huckleberry Finn shows the possibility of making genuine moral changes in a world that is
dominated in racism and other forms of human foolishness.
After reading the book I would definitely recommend it to others. Although it was quite hard to read
because of the old fashioned grammar, it s still worth it.
Huckleberry Finn is the main character in the book and he s also the protagonist. He is a Caucasian
boy who is trying to escape his abusive father. Huckleberry Finn is quite young, he s about thirteen or
fourteen years of age. He s the son of the local drunk and he has lived most of his life without a
mother and homeless. He s used to wearing ragged and cast of clothes, never going to school and
doing pretty much whatever he wants. He is very good at outdoor things like hunting, fishing and
trapping.
At the beginning of the book he is living in a house because he has been adopted by the widow
Douglas. Huckleberry Finn and the widow live with the widow s sister, Miss

Make New Mexico State University
Make New Mexico State Great Again This is my first semester at New Mexico State University and I
am over all loving the experience. There aren t many flaws here at New Mexico State University in
my opinion however my proposal will be something that I am currently pretty actively involved in on
campus, and that is the Greek life here at New Mexico State University. In just my short time here on
campus no other program or organization has stood out or had near the effect Greek life has had on me
thus far. Within New Mexico State University you find people in Greek life everywhere you go, we
have members in ASNMSU, the president of ASNMSU is a Greek. There are Greeks in almost every
organization on campus. You find us working jobs on campus, and no matter where you find one,
Greeks play a pretty active role here on campus.
Now a days when people see Greek letters on a house or an individual wearing them on their chest, I
feel a lot of people with the exception of the few people who truly know what it is to be Greek, see us
as the way we are portrayed in movies and TV shows. Party crazed animals with no respect to
individuals their school or their community as a whole. To be honest, before getting involved in a
fraternity and Greek life, I had similar thoughts to this ideal that all Greek life would have in store for
me was drinking and Partying my life away with not much else to offer witch made me skeptical to
truly get involved. After just a short of being involved I see

To What Extent Was Ancient Athens A Democracy Dbq
Facts and information lead to the fact that Athens truly was a democracy. First of all, what is a
democracy? A democracy is a form of government that the people of that state or country run. To
prove that ancient Athens actually was a democracy, here are three pieces of evidence to prove so.
Unlike our government, the people of Athens ran their government, compared to our government,
where we elect representatives to run our government for us. First, democracy is the rule of the whole
of the people, excluding minors and maniacs only (Doc D). The only people who had a say in the
Athenian government were the male citizens. Women, children, and slave had no say whatsoever. The
males had all the say on what they felt the city state needed in

Christmas Tree Analysis
In Ibsen s play A Doll s House, the Christmas tree parallels with Nora s development, her mental state,
and position in the household. The tree can be recognized as an object placed in a house to please the
eyes and adds beauty to a home. Torvald objectifies Nora, seeing her as a plaything carrying no
purpose other than to look at and be pretty. As the play continues and Nora develops into a mature
character and becomes aware of her repression, the Christmas Tree begins to visibly deteriorate and
wither. The Christmas tree emphasizes Nora s rebirth and realization of her own dissatisfaction with
life and must act against Torvald. The disintegration of the tree also parallels the disintegration of the
decorations (pretty dresses) Nora uses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early on in the play, Nora s deceitful and immature character parallels to the tree s youthful condition
and as the play progresses, Nora will begin to mature with the tree and as the lies will be revealed.
Nora serves only to entertain Torvald and does not realize Torvald sees her as nothing but a little doll
to play with. Nora ironically points out: We shall have a lovely tree I ll do all the things you like,
Torvald, I ll sing and dance. Right after Nora mentions the tree, she willingly goes along with her role
as a submissive female and this represents her initial characterization which will then develop to her
rejection of her submissive role. Throughout act 1, Nora repeatedly decorates the tree with ornaments
and decorations: Nora decorates the tree, still talking to herself, saying everything Krogstad has said is
nonsense... Nora s act of decorating the tree parallels to the standards society has for women to cover
themselves in pretty clothes and makeup. Nora s continuous decorating also represents her secrets and
deceit and the lies she tells herself about her stable marriage. In the quote, Nora rejects what Krogstad
has said and refuses to accept the truth, representing her childish behavior and her inability to face her
problems, choosing to hide them with pretty decorations instead.
Nora s character development and maturity begins after Nora has been confronted by Krogstad and
Torvald for being a lying mother. In

Joe Linta Reputation
On a crisp October evening in Hamden, Connecticut, two high school football teams face off. The
crowd roars as the Hamden Hall football team takes the field with the head coach, Joe Linta, slowly
jogging behind. Tonight it is all about coaching his team to an undefeated season and getting to the
conference championship game. The next day, Linta is in the office talking to NFL executives,
negotiating a contract extension for Joe Flacco, and watching film on dozens of Division III football
players. Joe Linta is more than a high school football coach and more than a sports agent; he is one a
kind. Joe Linta is a sports agent, but more importantly, a talent evaluator and an advocate for players
who are overlooked or come from smaller schools. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Linta sees big things from Schreck with his size, quickness, and hands. He believes he is the type of
player that will be in the league for ten years. In an ultra high competitive market of sports agents,
Linta is in a class of his own. Instead of competing for the high profile college athletes, he has figured
out how to focus on the guys that not many people are talking about and finding the best of them to
sign. Joe Linta gives opportunities to the players that deserve it but never thought they had a chance.
Usually it is a success for the sports agent when they sign a new player, but for Joe Linta, the player is
lucky to have the opportunity to sign with him. It is no guarantee that you will sign with a team, but
every team will take a look at you because they know you check the boxes for character and potential.
No other agent that Linta knows about is thoroughly evaluating every player or has the level of year
after year success. When the 2017 NFL Draft comes around, do not be surprised if you hear Herdman
s or Schreck s names called. They might be players who no one has heard of, but Linta s success
shows that they are worth taking a chance

Difference Between Rich And Poor
The Gap Between the Rich and the Poor
Each year, thousands of people all over the world come to the U.S. to chase a better life with beautiful
houses, luxury cars and dream jobs, because they think America is the land of opportunities. However,
inside this country, there are a lot of problems which lead to inequality, and one of them is a growing
gap between the rich and poor people. The problem with rising inequality is a person like me who
earns 1000 times as much as the typical American, Nick Hanauer, a venture capitalist explains on the
film Inequality For All. If a normal person earns $10 an hour, a rich person can earn $10,000 an hour.
Following economists and social scientists, the three primary reasons which lead to this gap are the
taxes that the rich and poor pay, lack of education, and the increase of unemployment.
Firstly, when we talk about the difference between the rich and poor, we must discuss paying taxes.
On the report of Robert Reich, the former secretary labor, in Inequality For All, in 1978, the middle
class and the working class earned over $48,000 per year and the upper class earned over $393,000.
However, in 2010, this income gap rose significantly. Meanwhile, the income of the top 1% increased
dramatically to over one million a year. The working class only earns around $33,000 a year. In this
film, Robert Reich also says that Today the richest 400 Americans have more wealth than the bottom
150 million of us put together. That means the assets

The More Dysfunctions, The More Escapes
The Wingfields and Westons are both inimitable families who carry distinctive traits and
characteristics. In the play, The Glass Menagerie, Tennessee Williams portrays a southern family in
the 1930 s trying to deal with life s pressures, and their own fears after their husband and father
deserts them. In the play, August: Osage County, Tracy Letts depicts a large eccentric family who
come together after the death of the patriarch, Beverly, and try to triumph over the obstacles in life.

Palpatine Freewill Analysis
What is freewill ? Freewill is the ability for us and only us as humans to control our faith and to a
certain extent, our destiny. Without the attribute of freewill our lives would become very simple and
meaningless, with no end goal to our lives. Did God create suffering so we could choose between
good and evil? As children of God, He gave us the power of freewill at birth, whether to be upright or
malicious. He gave us the choice to be blissful and go to Heaven or to sin and suffer then go to Hell.
Suffering is a key component in every aspect of freewill. Without suffering freewill would not exist.

But one wrong choice to accept being an apprentice of emperor Palpatine ruined his life completely.
Anakin had the freewill to choose his fate, but he did what he thought he had to do. To Anakin,
Palpatine could be considered a god type figure because in his mind he was limited and had no choice,
the only way he could become free is by being able to save Padme from dying and Palpatine could
fulfill that desire. He feels as if he is limited to drastic measures including turning against the people
he had sworn to protect. Suffering is portrayed in the repercussions for Anakin s use of freedom of
choice. He had made the choices he made out of love for his wife, which ultimately were sinister and
caused great amounts of suffering to be dealt. Now Anakin has to live with the consequences of all the
sins that he committed including, the mass killing of children and other Jedi in the Temple, choking
Padme into unconsciousness which ultimately leads to her death during birth, betraying his Jedi
master Obi Wan, and the death of his wife during birth. Freewill existed within Anakin s choices, but
he was limited to the past suffering that had occurred with his mother. Eventually leading to the

Question 1: Explain the theoretical rationale for the NPV approach to investment appraisal and
compare the strengths and weaknesses of the NPV approach to two other commonly used approaches.
(30 marks)
This first section of this paper will provide a brief explanation on theoretical rationale for the net
present value (NPV) method of investment appraisal and then compare its strengths and weaknesses to
two alternative methods of investment appraisal, those of internal rate of return (IRR) and pay back.
Theoretical rationale for the NPV approach
The net present value rule or NPV devised by Hirshleifer (1958), is the fundamental model of how

G is also happy to invest because they can borrow against the future payoff of the investment. By
investing G gets £20,000 more to spend today (£200,000 less £180,000). It would pay for either
investor to borrow to invest in the opportunity due to the returns on offer.
Despite the reality of known imperfections in capital markets (e.g. taxation, transaction costs,
asymmetric information), overall the use of NPV makes sense as a corporate objective. Certain
imperfections can be modelled into financials, providing a more realistic picture. Brealey et al (2008)
state that the use of NPV for uncertain cash flows makes sense too, providing there is free access to
competitive capital markets. This is due to when affirm chooses only positive NPV projects, they will
be meeting the shareholders and firms objective of maximising wealth. Instead of solely seeking a
maximisation of wealth that might negatively impact in other areas (e.g. future profits, return on
investment etc), NPV accounts for the time value of money, opportunity cost of capital and differences
in project rates of return.
Comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of the NPV approach to two other commonly used
approaches
This report will now focus on comparing the strengths and weaknesses of the NPV approach to two
other investment appraisal approaches, internal rate of return (IRR) and pay back.

Columbus, The Indians, And Human Progress
Chapter 1 COLUMBUS, THE INDIANS, AND HUMAN PROGRESS
Thesis Statement:
Zinn argues that the perspective of indigenous people should not be omitted and argues that their
perspectives are as significant as any other. He provides insight and perspectives of the Indians to
describe how the heinous acts of the Europeans were unjustified. He also discusses that the Europeans
had a continual motive of exploring during that time which was to increase the power/authority of the
Spanish Crown by whatever means necessary, usually leading to violent wars.
B. Evidence used:
The Europeans main goal revolved around the stability of power of the Spanish Crown. The Spanish
Crown was focused on expanding their military so they needed resources such as gold to pay for the
constantly increasing military budget. Columbus used this idea to help get resources such as, boats,
men, food and weapons from the Spanish Crown. This is important because it describes the desperate
need of gold that the Spaniards had which ultimately led to the gruesome acts they committed.
Although the Spaniards and English were greeted with hospitality, food, and gifts they still sought war
because it was not enough. Zinn mentions this quote, They willingly traded everything they owned... ,
which shows that Cortes and Columbus were both greeted by the Indians with kindness. However,
they both used that to their advantage tricking them into slavery and oppression. he was so anxious to

Women have always been the strong ones of the world. The men are always seeking from women a

Short Stories About Failure And Help, Perseverance, And Faith
I am honored to be speaking here today. Eighth grade was a fun, but tough year. At the beginning of
eighth grade I was excited and worried for the year to come. Now I think of this year and I think of
how fast it went, the fun I had, and the troubles I had. I think of how I am going into high school. It s
hard to believe. I am not here to talk to you about freaking out about high school. I want to tell you
about eighth grade and what you will experience. I have three stories to tell you. Only three. Three
stories about failure and help, perseverance, and faith. The first story is about failure. Failure is
something I was afraid of, especially in math. I never wanted to fail. I wanted to try my best and do
amazing on everything. Sadly, being perfect isn t how the world works. In math, at the end of the year,
I was really worried about a unit we were doing. At first I thought I knew what I was doing. I had a
good handle on the problems in class and on the homework. When it came to the first quiz, I failed it.
When I saw the score on the computer screen I almost burst into tears. I was harder on myself than
anyone was on me. I knew I tried my best, but I didn t feel like it. I had never failed before. The
teacher came around the next day and asked if I needed any extra help. At first I was thinking, no. I do
not need help. Later that night I changed my mind. I went to her class during my lunch and she
answered my questions and helped me on some practice problems. For the

Out, Out by Robert Frost Essay
Out, Out
Out, Out, by Robert Frost is a gruesomely graphic and emotional poem about the tragic end of a
young boy s life. It is a powerful expression about the fragility of life and the fact that death can come
at any time. Death is always devastating, but it is even more so when the victim is just a young boy.
The fact that the boy s death came right before he could Call it a day (750) leads one to think the
tragedy might have been avoided and there by forces the reader to think, What if. This poem brings
the question of mortality to the reader s attention and shows that death has no age limit.

This was the start of Frost s reputation as one of the great American writers of the 20th century.
Out, Out is a great example of a typical Robert Frost poem. This narrative poem tells a story of human
tragedy through the death of a young boy. The poem shows how fragile life can be and how it can be
taken from people in an instant. The boy s tragic death is illuminated for the reader by a commentator
watching the incident from the outside looking in. There is a lot of detail given to the reader early on
describing the saw and the way it snarled and rattled. These details and the emphases on the boy s age
and his wanting to leave work early made the situation destined for tragedy. It was as if Frost was
preparing us for the tragedy to come, And nothing happened: day was all but done (9). This suggests
that something is definitely going to happen. Another clue that something awful is about to happen is
the way the saw is personified it: leaped out of the boy s hand (16). As it is described, the saw jumped
out of the boy s hand when he is called for supper, As if to prove that saw knew what supper meant
(15). Through the use of onomatopoeia, the saw is also made to sound vicious like an attack dog when
it is heard to snarl and rattle. The personification and description of the noises of the saw makes
defiantly it seem like a major character in the poem.
The theme of this poem is the boy s

industrial consumer. Entrepreneurial ideas can be the result of simply being an irritated consumer
looking for a better solution, where ―in solving their own needs, they often find they satisfy the latent
demands of a broader group of users.‖3 Recall the origins of Nike Phil Knight and his track coach Bill
Bowerman were dissatisfied with the footwear available for longdistance runners, so they started their
own footwear company using Bowerman s waffle maker to produce the rubber soles.
Never underestimate the importance and relevance of contextual knowledge. Many successful
entrepreneurs have found their ideas by reading different newspapers and economic and technical
publications in order to keep abreast of trends and events taking place around the world. One
incredible advantage that students have is the access to resources available at colleges and universities.

New Start Reflection
This summer I had the opportunity to do New Start a program for incoming freshmen at the University
of Arizona. The program is to support the transition from high school to college and throughout the
program you gain knowledge and tips not only just about the college but about yourself. Using tools
from class activities like SWOT and True Colors that helped me really understand who I am and what
are my strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Within this essay I will share with you my
SWOT analysis and the things I learned about myself during the last few weeks.
Strengths
Personal values I believe speak a great deal about a person and who they are and I learned that my
values reflect just that. During New Start we had an activity in class that forced us to pick from a list
of personal values and narrow them down and rank them in order of importance. My top values
included family, friends, school, and independence just to name a few. This activity was especially
challenging for me but in the end it helped me really look at what truly is important to me. I had to
apply this lesson from class in my life sooner than I expected. My grandmother passed away during
New Start and I had to decide if I wanted to miss school and be with family but that also meant by
missing school I d be missing out on important information. In the end I choose to go to school the
next day and be with my family afterwards. That decision alone was very hard because in a situation
such as mine there was a conflict of my personal values my family is very important to me but school
is just as important to me. Although it was difficult for me to make that decision but the fact I had the
ability to choose between two of my own personal values is why I ve chosen to place knowing and
understanding my personal values as a strength. I know that throughout life there will be times when I
will have to choose once again between my personal values and as student like I ve mentioned earlier
I m going to make those decisions based on what matters to me and what won t always be there in the
end.
Another strength I have is goal setting towards the end of high school coming into this summer my top
goal was to get a job. I ve tried my best to

Ruin Porn Summary
Upon your request, I analyzed the article regarding the subject of Ruin Porn by Brian Doucet and
Drew Philp. After analyzing, I do think this article should be published in the Shorthorn. Readers of
the Shorthorn would find this to be a credible article, and they would also find it to be very persuasive
due to the clear use of ethos, logos, and pathos when describing the city of Detroit and the artists,
which take advantage of the parts of the city, which appear to be deteriorating. The authors central
claim is that though Detroit is a city that contains many places, which are in ruins, and some of the
ruins may be aesthetically pleasing to some because these ruins seem fascinating, they do not show the
condition of the people who are living ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to the article, Ruin Porn is described as being based on aesthetics as well as being devoid
of people. The images of the ruins in the city do not tell the heartbreaking stories of the inhabitants
residing in the decomposing metropolis. Artists go to the city, take photos of these ruins, make their
money, and at the end of the day, parts of the city are still in shambles and the people are still
suffering. Detroit is often referred to as an empty city when in reality there are many people trying to
make a home out of the ruins that these artists are making a living off of. The lack of representation of
people in these artists work emphasizes the absence of sympathy and compassion for those residing in
these areas. Shorthorn readers would agree with the authors on this because many parts of Arlington,
Fort Worth, Dallas, and many other neighboring cities do contain ruins which some artists take
advantage of. Although these artists successfully depict the state of the city, they fail to convey the
suffering and downfall of the citizens occupying

The Differences Between the Army and National Guard
We sleep safely at night because rough men stand ready to visit violence on those who would harm us.
Winston S. Churchill. The primary mission of the Army is to fight and win our Nation s wars by
providing prompt, sustained land dominance across the full range of military operations and spectrum
of conflict in support of combatant commanders. There are five branches of the military, but there are
two branches that are always up for debate on which to join. Active Army and National Guard have

training, rank, and pay.

Narrative Voice In Stand By Me
Stand By Me plummets us into a world of four naïve and rebellious children on the brink of
adolescence as they expand their world, discover themselves and find where their friendships and
loyalties lie. The gang consists of Gordie Lachance (Wil Wheaton), Chris Chambers (River Pheonix),
Teddy Duchamp (Corey Feldman) and Vern Tessio (Jerry O Connell) and with some outstanding
acting, we find ourselves in the shoes of Gordie as he recounts his past. After recently finding out
about the untimely demise of his best friend Chris, we are taken back in time to when he was twelve

The narrative voice brings our attention to how small their world is when Gordie says we lived in
Castle Rock, but to us, it was the whole world which is representing him looking back and explaining
how life has changed. This notion of discovering a new world returns at the end of the film when
again, the narrative voice says we were only away for two days but it felt like the small town we lived
in had changed and it is trying to convey how much people can change in just a small amount of time,
and it is reinforced by the idea of the coming of age and how time flies at such a young age. The
movie puts these ideas in our heads with some scenes that are placed throughout the movie with no
connection to the plot but go very deep into the characters. One of which is a scene where Gordie is
sitting peacefully on the train tracks and a young deer walks into view. This deer is representing the
man motif throughout the movie and how they are coming of age on this journey because it
symbolizes youth and innocence. The narrative voice then enforces this by saying I didn t tell the
others about the deer which shows that Gordie was having a moment of understanding, which the
others wouldn t think of the same way, and what it

Mondavi Five Forces Analysis
The Five Forces and Mondavi The competitive forces that shape company strategy are very important
to consider in any organization. However, they are especially important when an organization s forces
fall closer to the intense side on the scale between intense forces and benign forces. Almost no
company earns attractive returns on investment when forces are intense, like those in industries that
sell luxury goods. (Porter, 2008). Yet, Robert Mondavi s wineries have leveraged the five forces
(barriers to entry, bargaining power of suppliers/buyers, threat of substitutes, and competitive rivalry)
in order to maintain consistent profits. The five forces are discussed in detail below with the level of
importance increasing throughout the descriptions. While bargaining power of buyers is ranked the
least important of the five factors for Mondavi s strategy, its importance should not be understated.
One of the Wine is typically sold to wholesalers who then distribute to retail outlets. With the
decreasing number of wholesalers and the consolidation of retailers, buyers negotiating power is
increasing. It is difficult for companies like Mondavi to make consistent profits and maintain market
share if they cannot keep products on retailers shelves. The second least important factor in Mondavi s
corporate strategy is the threat of substitutes. A substitute offering arises when there is a product in a
different industry that can satisfy the same need as the product a company sells. If one looks at wine as
an alcoholic beverage, there really is no substitute for wine, as beer and liquor are technically in the
same industry. However, if seen as a luxury item that s purpose is for the experience, there are some
substitutes for wine. Examples include high end chocolates or cheeses, as customers might desire to be
connoisseurs in these two items instead of wine. It would seem that the cost of switching to one of
these products would be rather low for customers, indicating there could be some risk. Mondavi does
have many competitors in three different areas. The intensity of the rivalry amongst these competitors
makes this factor ranked next in importance. Per the case, the three types of competitors are rival

European Colonization in Shakespeare s The Tempest Essay
No Critique of European Colonization in The Tempest
Since the 1960s, several critics have found a critique of colonialism in their respective readings of
Shakespeare s The Tempest. The most radical of these analyses takes Prospero to be a European
invader of the magical but primitive land that he comes to rule, using his superior knowledge to
enslave its original inhabitants, most notably Caliban, and forcing them to do his bidding. While the
textual clues concerning the geographic location of Prospero s island are ambiguous and vague, there
is a prominent references to the Bermoothes. We know that shortly before he wrote his final play,
Shakespeare read a contemporary travel account of the Virginia Company s 1609 expedition to ...

Just as Native American tribes would come to distinguish between colonizers from different nations,
e.g., favoring the French over the British or vice versa, Caliban becomes disenchanted with Trinculo
as a master and proclaims that he will only serve Stephano. For his part, like some great father
protecting his children from a European rival, Stephano rebukes Trinculo for his mistreatment of
Caliban, saying that the poor monster s my subject, and he shall not suffer indignity (III, ii., ll.36 37).
All of this closely resembles some aspects of European colonialist stereotypes of the New World s
peoples and of their historical subjugation of Indians for their own good.
If Shakespeare s play does comment upon European exploration and colonization in the Western
Hemisphere, however, The Tempest does not contain a critique of exploitation, but, instead, an
apology for it. Caliban was initially treated as an ignorant child and only put under wraps after he
attempted to force himself upon the completely innocent Miranda. The charge of rape is made more
credible in having Miranda pass judgment upon Caliban whom she calls an Abhorr d slave (I, ii.,
l.352). Unlike our current understanding of European colonialism, Prospero puts Caliban in chains
because he has earned the status of

Diaz has used is to order lesser inventory, more frequently. This would keep more cash in the business,
which would allow Ms. Diaz to take some salary for herself and to set up a payment schedule for the
business loan from her cousins. As noted by Sergeant (2009), it is best to keep minimal inventory on
hand. Excessive inventory, whether materials needed to perform services or office supplies, ties up
cash. More frequent orders would allow Ms. Diaz to order more accurately based on actual
consumption rather than estimating needs over the longer term, using the principles of Just In Time
(JIT) ordering. This alternative is dependent on shipping costs and order turn around times as well as
customer order lead times.
3 Another alternative is for Ms. Diaz to keep only samples in her store. Customers pay a 50 % deposit
when they order the product and Ms. Diaz then orders the materials for that specific order. When the
materials arrive, Ms. Diaz fabricates the product and subsequently, delivery and final payment take
place. Again, she will use JIT principles to order only the materials for work that has been ordered. In
the situation where particular products are standard or quick turnover items, an exception may be
made to the no inventory rule. Again, the concept is that less cash is tied up in inventory and is
available for a salary for Ms. Diaz and her loan repayment.

times medical emergency nurses failed to treat patients in a timely manner. There are certain federal

responsibility of medical emergency nurse to make accurate assessments in emergency. If a nurse
shows carelessness and there is no accurate assessment of the patient done then there are several
consequences of this and it not only waste patient s time but can also lead towards serious medical
issues. I was a head nurse in Boston s hospital where I get a report in which the patient filed a

Big History
The universe is a complex place to live in. There are simple objects such as rocks that consist of only
one material, but there are also complicated living organisms like humans living amongst the
simplicity. But, how did this all come to be 13.8 billion years ago? Historians and scientists have
given different perspectives as to how the universe came to existence. However, as time went on, a
new idea has been proposed called big history. Big history attempts to reconstruct the history of the
whole time, back to the very beginning of the universe (Christian, Brown, Benjamin). Big history is
all encompassing and involves perspectives from science and history. The big history narrative is
divided into sections called thresholds. There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The initial steps of our solar system began with a star known as the sun. By this point, the sun was
formed and there was debris floating all throughout the universe. The larger objects that managed to
escape the sun s fury collided with each other and accreted. This means stellar objects grow in size
through collision and sticking together of particles (Christian, Brown, Benjamin). With accretion the
planets and solar system came to be. To be more descriptive, I will focus on the formation of the earth.
The Earth is made up of three layers: the core, mantle, and crust. After the accretion process all the
elements that bunched up together started to settle into the Earth based on weight. Due to intense heat
brought on by the Hadean Era, metals began to melt and brought to the core of the planet because of
gravity; this is called chemical differentiation (Christian, Brown, Benjamin) . The heavier elements,
like metals, were found in the core while lighter elements like silicates were found in the mantle and
crust. This is of essential importance to the making of the hand held radio because it settles materials
like metal onto earth. Without metals the radio would be missing key components for its creation.
Having it available on Earth gave access to later creations to create the parts of the hand held radio

It is said that women are usually the ones that suffer the most when dealing with infertility. For some
women, motherhood is a large part of their image of themselves as females. Men tend not to be
pressured the same way to become fathers. Most men are able to deal with this matter better because
they are brought up to repress their feelings. (www.babycenter.com) If it is known that the fertility
problem is his then a man s image of himself will begin to suffer. Infertile couples end up on an
emotional roller coaster because they begin to live their life in month to month cycles of hope and
disappointment that revolve around ovulation calendars and menstruation. (www.babycenter.com)

added Spanish style courtyards and apartments with arched windows and red tiled roofs around the

learned more about it, I would only feel sympathy for her, and guilt for going no contact. As awful as
it sounds, I was tired of trying to understand her, and I was over feeling guilty about her personal
wounds. There was also a bigger part of me that was afraid of admitting my upbringing influenced my

to recognize a self cell from a non self cell,
2. mount a successful response/attack,
3. remember each specific pathogen/antigen for future attacks.
To be able to recognize a self cell from a non self cell, T cells have receptors on their surfaces that
recognize antigens on the surfaces of other cells. When one of these antigens, or parts of the disease
that the immune system recognizes as non self , is recognized by a T cell, an immune response is
launched and T cells begin multiplying rapidly to fight off the infection. This rapid multiplication
creates two different types of T cells: helper and cytotoxic. The helper T cells help to create more T
cells and the cytotoxic T cells are the killers. They attack the cells with the antigen that the body has
recognized as non self. Once the non self cells are destroyed, some of these new T cells that have been
created to fight off this specific infection will stay around to fight any future infection with the same
antigen. This is called memory (Dr. T. White, Microbiology lecture, May 2015). Dr. June and his team

Luckily the President was able to survive the ordeal. Hinckley had an overwhelming and somewhat

While in Hollywood, Hinckley first viewed the 1976 film Taxi Driver, which gave dramatic meaning

  • 2. Cultural Awareness And Delivery Of Appropriate Care Cultural Heritage As health care providers, it is imperative to acknowledge the relationship between cultural awareness and delivery of appropriate care. The first step in creating cultural awareness may begin by the provider assessing their own cultural heritage, and it s views on health and wellness. Reflection on one s cultural heritage requires knowledge and understanding of the concept of cultural heritage itself. When assessing my cultural heritage, I first examined the factors that are identified as contributors to one s heritage. According the Joint Commission (2010), culture can be defined as integrated patterns of human behavior that include the language, thoughts, communications, actions, customs, beliefs, values, and institutions of racial, ethnic, religious, or social groups . Once reflecting on these patterns, I concluded that my ethnicity and religious upbringing were the two components of my heritage that most greatly affected my behaviors. I belong to the Franco American, English, and Scottish ethnic groups. However, being predominately Franco American and having closer relationships with my family members of this ethnicity as a child, I mainly identify with this group. Since their migration to various locations in New England; primarily throughout the late eighteen hundreds to early nineteen hundreds, French Canadians have been recognized for their rigorous work ethics. Many immigrant men, women, and children worked in mills after relocating to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Moral Of Huckleberry Finn Huckleberry Finn is being looked after by the widow Douglas, who tries to adapt him to a civilized life. One day his drunken father shows up, and both him and his father decide to make an outing together. But Huckleberry escapes from his father and arranges to make it look like he had been killed. After a few days he meets Jim, the servant of the widow Douglas. Jim is on the run north where he thinks he can buy his family freedom. Together they develop a unique friendship during their journey down Mississippi on a raft. When Huckleberry later has the opportunity to easily get the reward, 300 USD, that s on top of Jim s head, he chooses instead to protect his newfound friend. Huckleberry and Jim soon happen to be in the hands of a few ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Racism and slavery is the main theme of the book. The book ..... I feel like the word ¨nigger¨ is in the book for a reason. Mark Twain put the word in there to get the readers attention, which it does. I think Huckleberry Finn shows the possibility of making genuine moral changes in a world that is dominated in racism and other forms of human foolishness. After reading the book I would definitely recommend it to others. Although it was quite hard to read because of the old fashioned grammar, it s still worth it. Huckleberry Finn is the main character in the book and he s also the protagonist. He is a Caucasian boy who is trying to escape his abusive father. Huckleberry Finn is quite young, he s about thirteen or fourteen years of age. He s the son of the local drunk and he has lived most of his life without a mother and homeless. He s used to wearing ragged and cast of clothes, never going to school and doing pretty much whatever he wants. He is very good at outdoor things like hunting, fishing and trapping. At the beginning of the book he is living in a house because he has been adopted by the widow Douglas. Huckleberry Finn and the widow live with the widow s sister, Miss ... • 4. Make New Mexico State University Make New Mexico State Great Again This is my first semester at New Mexico State University and I am over all loving the experience. There aren t many flaws here at New Mexico State University in my opinion however my proposal will be something that I am currently pretty actively involved in on campus, and that is the Greek life here at New Mexico State University. In just my short time here on campus no other program or organization has stood out or had near the effect Greek life has had on me thus far. Within New Mexico State University you find people in Greek life everywhere you go, we have members in ASNMSU, the president of ASNMSU is a Greek. There are Greeks in almost every organization on campus. You find us working jobs on campus, and no matter where you find one, Greeks play a pretty active role here on campus. Now a days when people see Greek letters on a house or an individual wearing them on their chest, I feel a lot of people with the exception of the few people who truly know what it is to be Greek, see us as the way we are portrayed in movies and TV shows. Party crazed animals with no respect to individuals their school or their community as a whole. To be honest, before getting involved in a fraternity and Greek life, I had similar thoughts to this ideal that all Greek life would have in store for me was drinking and Partying my life away with not much else to offer witch made me skeptical to truly get involved. After just a short of being involved I see ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. To What Extent Was Ancient Athens A Democracy Dbq Facts and information lead to the fact that Athens truly was a democracy. First of all, what is a democracy? A democracy is a form of government that the people of that state or country run. To prove that ancient Athens actually was a democracy, here are three pieces of evidence to prove so. Unlike our government, the people of Athens ran their government, compared to our government, where we elect representatives to run our government for us. First, democracy is the rule of the whole of the people, excluding minors and maniacs only (Doc D). The only people who had a say in the Athenian government were the male citizens. Women, children, and slave had no say whatsoever. The males had all the say on what they felt the city state needed in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Christmas Tree Analysis In Ibsen s play A Doll s House, the Christmas tree parallels with Nora s development, her mental state, and position in the household. The tree can be recognized as an object placed in a house to please the eyes and adds beauty to a home. Torvald objectifies Nora, seeing her as a plaything carrying no purpose other than to look at and be pretty. As the play continues and Nora develops into a mature character and becomes aware of her repression, the Christmas Tree begins to visibly deteriorate and wither. The Christmas tree emphasizes Nora s rebirth and realization of her own dissatisfaction with life and must act against Torvald. The disintegration of the tree also parallels the disintegration of the decorations (pretty dresses) Nora uses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Early on in the play, Nora s deceitful and immature character parallels to the tree s youthful condition and as the play progresses, Nora will begin to mature with the tree and as the lies will be revealed. Nora serves only to entertain Torvald and does not realize Torvald sees her as nothing but a little doll to play with. Nora ironically points out: We shall have a lovely tree I ll do all the things you like, Torvald, I ll sing and dance. Right after Nora mentions the tree, she willingly goes along with her role as a submissive female and this represents her initial characterization which will then develop to her rejection of her submissive role. Throughout act 1, Nora repeatedly decorates the tree with ornaments and decorations: Nora decorates the tree, still talking to herself, saying everything Krogstad has said is nonsense... Nora s act of decorating the tree parallels to the standards society has for women to cover themselves in pretty clothes and makeup. Nora s continuous decorating also represents her secrets and deceit and the lies she tells herself about her stable marriage. In the quote, Nora rejects what Krogstad has said and refuses to accept the truth, representing her childish behavior and her inability to face her problems, choosing to hide them with pretty decorations instead. Nora s character development and maturity begins after Nora has been confronted by Krogstad and Torvald for being a lying mother. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Difference Between Rich And Poor The Gap Between the Rich and the Poor Each year, thousands of people all over the world come to the U.S. to chase a better life with beautiful houses, luxury cars and dream jobs, because they think America is the land of opportunities. However, inside this country, there are a lot of problems which lead to inequality, and one of them is a growing gap between the rich and poor people. The problem with rising inequality is a person like me who earns 1000 times as much as the typical American, Nick Hanauer, a venture capitalist explains on the film Inequality For All. If a normal person earns $10 an hour, a rich person can earn $10,000 an hour. Following economists and social scientists, the three primary reasons which lead to this gap are the taxes that the rich and poor pay, lack of education, and the increase of unemployment. Firstly, when we talk about the difference between the rich and poor, we must discuss paying taxes. On the report of Robert Reich, the former secretary labor, in Inequality For All, in 1978, the middle class and the working class earned over $48,000 per year and the upper class earned over $393,000. However, in 2010, this income gap rose significantly. Meanwhile, the income of the top 1% increased dramatically to over one million a year. The working class only earns around $33,000 a year. In this film, Robert Reich also says that Today the richest 400 Americans have more wealth than the bottom 150 million of us put together. That means the assets ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Without the attribute of freewill our lives would become very simple and meaningless, with no end goal to our lives. Did God create suffering so we could choose between good and evil? (30 marks) This first section of this paper will provide a brief explanation on theoretical rationale for the net present value (NPV) method of investment appraisal and then compare its strengths and weaknesses to two alternative methods of investment appraisal, those of internal rate of return (IRR) and pay back. Theoretical rationale for the NPV approach The net present value rule or NPV devised by Hirshleifer (1958), is the fundamental model of how firms decide whether to invest in a project, commonly known as the investment decision , or ... Despite the reality of known imperfections in capital markets (e.g. taxation, transaction costs, asymmetric information), overall the use of NPV makes sense as a corporate objective. Certain imperfections can be modelled into financials, providing a more realistic picture. Brealey et al (2008) state that the use of NPV for uncertain cash flows makes sense too, providing there is free access to competitive capital markets. This is due to when affirm chooses only positive NPV projects, they will be meeting the shareholders and firms objective of maximising wealth. Instead of solely seeking a maximisation of wealth that might negatively impact in other areas (e.g. future profits, return on investment etc), NPV accounts for the time value of money, opportunity cost of capital and differences in project rates of return. He provides insight and perspectives of the Indians to describe how the heinous acts of the Europeans were unjustified. He also discusses that the Europeans had a continual motive of exploring during that time which was to increase the power/authority of the Spanish Crown by whatever means necessary, usually leading to violent wars. B. Evidence used: The Europeans main goal revolved around the stability of power of the Spanish Crown. The Spanish Crown was focused on expanding their military so they needed resources such as gold to pay for the constantly increasing military budget. Columbus used this idea to help get resources such as, boats, men, food and weapons from the Spanish Crown. This is important because it describes the desperate need of gold that the Spaniards had which ultimately led to the gruesome acts they committed. Although the Spaniards and English were greeted with hospitality, food, and gifts they still sought war because it was not enough. This was the start of Frost s reputation as one of the great American writers of the 20th century. Out, Out is a great example of a typical Robert Frost poem. This narrative poem tells a story of human tragedy through the death of a young boy. The poem shows how fragile life can be and how it can be taken from people in an instant. The boy s tragic death is illuminated for the reader by a commentator watching the incident from the outside looking in. There is a lot of detail given to the reader early on describing the saw and the way it snarled and rattled. These details and the emphases on the boy s age and his wanting to leave work early made the situation destined for tragedy. It was as if Frost was preparing us for the tragedy to come, And nothing happened: day was all but done (9). This suggests that something is definitely going to happen. Another clue that something awful is about to happen is the way the saw is personified it: leaped out of the boy s hand (16). As it is described, the saw jumped out of the boy s hand when he is called for supper, As if to prove that saw knew what supper meant (15). Within this essay I will share with you my SWOT analysis and the things I learned about myself during the last few weeks. Strengths Personal values I believe speak a great deal about a person and who they are and I learned that my values reflect just that. During New Start we had an activity in class that forced us to pick from a list of personal values and narrow them down and rank them in order of importance. My top values included family, friends, school, and independence just to name a few. This activity was especially challenging for me but in the end it helped me really look at what truly is important to me. I had to apply this lesson from class in my life sooner than I expected. My grandmother passed away during New Start and I had to decide if I wanted to miss school and be with family but that also meant by missing school I d be missing out on important information. That decision alone was very hard because in a situation such as mine there was a conflict of my personal values my family is very important to me but school is just as important to me. Although it was difficult for me to make that decision but the fact I had the ability to choose between two of my own personal values is why I ve chosen to place knowing and understanding my personal values as a strength. • 25. Mondavi Five Forces Analysis The Five Forces and Mondavi The competitive forces that shape company strategy are very important to consider in any organization. However, they are especially important when an organization s forces fall closer to the intense side on the scale between intense forces and benign forces. Almost no company earns attractive returns on investment when forces are intense, like those in industries that sell luxury goods. (Porter, 2008). Yet, Robert Mondavi s wineries have leveraged the five forces (barriers to entry, bargaining power of suppliers/buyers, threat of substitutes, and competitive rivalry) in order to maintain consistent profits. The five forces are discussed in detail below with the level of importance increasing throughout the descriptions. While bargaining power of buyers is ranked the least important of the five factors for Mondavi s strategy, its importance should not be understated. One of the Wine is typically sold to wholesalers who then distribute to retail outlets. With the decreasing number of wholesalers and the consolidation of retailers, buyers negotiating power is increasing. It is difficult for companies like Mondavi to make consistent profits and maintain market share if they cannot keep products on retailers shelves. The second least important factor in Mondavi s corporate strategy is the threat of substitutes. A substitute offering arises when there is a product in a different industry that can satisfy the same need as the product a company sells. If one looks at wine as an alcoholic beverage, there really is no substitute for wine, as beer and liquor are technically in the same industry. However, if seen as a luxury item that s purpose is for the experience, there are some substitutes for wine. • 26. European Colonization in Shakespeare s The Tempest Essay No Critique of European Colonization in The Tempest Since the 1960s, several critics have found a critique of colonialism in their respective readings of Shakespeare s The Tempest. The most radical of these analyses takes Prospero to be a European invader of the magical but primitive land that he comes to rule, using his superior knowledge to enslave its original inhabitants, most notably Caliban, and forcing them to do his bidding. While the textual clues concerning the geographic location of Prospero s island are ambiguous and vague, there is a prominent references to the Bermoothes. We know that shortly before he wrote his final play, Shakespeare read a contemporary travel account of the Virginia Company s 1609 expedition to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just as Native American tribes would come to distinguish between colonizers from different nations, e.g., favoring the French over the British or vice versa, Caliban becomes disenchanted with Trinculo as a master and proclaims that he will only serve Stephano. For his part, like some great father protecting his children from a European rival, Stephano rebukes Trinculo for his mistreatment of Caliban, saying that the poor monster s my subject, and he shall not suffer indignity (III, ii., ll.36 37). All of this closely resembles some aspects of European colonialist stereotypes of the New World s peoples and of their historical subjugation of Indians for their own good. If Shakespeare s play does comment upon European exploration and colonization in the Western Hemisphere, however, The Tempest does not contain a critique of exploitation, but, instead, an apology for it. Caliban was initially treated as an ignorant child and only put under wraps after he attempted to force himself upon the completely innocent Miranda. The charge of rape is made more credible in having Miranda pass judgment upon Caliban whom she calls an Abhorr d slave (I, ii., l.352). Unlike our current understanding of European colonialism, Prospero puts Caliban in chains because he has earned the status of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Case 1-1 Ribbons and Bows INTRODUCTION Carmen Diaz, with a ten thousand dollar loan from two of her cousins, and one thousand dollars that she invested in equity, was able to open a specialty store called Ribbons an Bows, Inc, which was located in Coconut Grove, Miami, Florida. Four months after opening the business, Carmen s relatives requested a financial report, which was part of the original business arrangement. Within a short time, Carmen had expanded the business, purchased small equipment, paid wages to a part time employee, and by all outward indicators, had been running a flourishing business. This would keep more cash in the business, which would allow Ms. Diaz to take some salary for herself and to set up a payment schedule for the business loan from her cousins. As noted by Sergeant (2009), it is best to keep minimal inventory on hand. Excessive inventory, whether materials needed to perform services or office supplies, ties up cash. More frequent orders would allow Ms. Diaz to order more accurately based on actual consumption rather than estimating needs over the longer term, using the principles of Just In Time (JIT) ordering. This alternative is dependent on shipping costs and order turn around times as well as customer order lead times. 3 Another alternative is for Ms. Diaz to keep only samples in her store. Customers pay a 50 % deposit when they order the product and Ms. Diaz then orders the materials for that specific order. When the materials arrive, Ms. Diaz fabricates the product and subsequently, delivery and final payment take place. Again, she will use JIT principles to order only the materials for work that has been ordered. In the situation where particular products are standard or quick turnover items, an exception may be made to the no inventory rule. Again, the concept is that less cash is tied up in inventory and is available for a salary for Ms. Diaz and her loan repayment. There are simple objects such as rocks that consist of only one material, but there are also complicated living organisms like humans living amongst the simplicity. But, how did this all come to be 13.8 billion years ago? Historians and scientists have given different perspectives as to how the universe came to existence. However, as time went on, a new idea has been proposed called big history. Big history attempts to reconstruct the history of the whole time, back to the very beginning of the universe (Christian, Brown, Benjamin). Big history is all encompassing and involves perspectives from science and history. The big history narrative is divided into sections called thresholds. There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The initial steps of our solar system began with a star known as the sun. By this point, the sun was formed and there was debris floating all throughout the universe. The larger objects that managed to escape the sun s fury collided with each other and accreted. This means stellar objects grow in size through collision and sticking together of particles (Christian, Brown, Benjamin). With accretion the planets and solar system came to be. To be more descriptive, I will focus on the formation of the earth. The Earth is made up of three layers: the core, mantle, and crust. After the accretion process all the elements that bunched up together started to settle into the Earth based on weight. Due to intense heat brought on by the Hadean Era, metals began to melt and brought to the core of the planet because of gravity; this is called chemical differentiation (Christian, Brown, Benjamin) . The heavier elements, like metals, were found in the core while lighter elements like silicates were found in the mantle and crust. This is of essential importance to the making of the hand held radio because it settles materials like metal onto earth. Without metals the radio would be missing key components for its creation. Having it available on Earth gave access to later creations to create the parts of the hand held radio like the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whenever I start a personal piece about my childhood, my mind instantly becomes a hive of swirling thoughts in a cloud of static. No matter what I know to be true, the fear of having my mother discredit me severely impedes progress. I have known about Borderline Personality Disorder for some time, and I knew my estranged mother was diagnosed with it at one point, but I didn t really start researching it until a friend lent me a copy of Surviving a Borderline Parent. Part of me was afraid if I learned more about it, I would only feel sympathy for her, and guilt for going no contact. As awful as it sounds, I was tired of trying to understand her, and I was over feeling guilty about her personal wounds. There was also a bigger part of me that was afraid of admitting my upbringing influenced my personality in such a strong way. On some level, I know she would take credit for any of it, the good and the bad, because that is her style. To be able to recognize a self cell from a non self cell, T cells have receptors on their surfaces that recognize antigens on the surfaces of other cells. When one of these antigens, or parts of the disease that the immune system recognizes as non self , is recognized by a T cell, an immune response is launched and T cells begin multiplying rapidly to fight off the infection. This rapid multiplication creates two different types of T cells: helper and cytotoxic. The helper T cells help to create more T cells and the cytotoxic T cells are the killers. They attack the cells with the antigen that the body has recognized as non self. Once the non self cells are destroyed, some of these new T cells that have been created to fight off this specific infection will stay around to fight any future infection with the same antigen.
