The Power Of Religion By Chinua Achebe
The Power of Religion
A religion to some is the basic world views for a person, to some it is the basic behaviors and
practices and to others it is an order of existence. Throughout history, the world has witnessed a
religions power to guide a society, but many have also witnessed a religion destroy a society as
well. Within the novel Things Fall Apartby Chinua Achebe, the world witnesses many religions,
for example the Ibo religion and Christianity. We are able to get a delightful insight on their ways
of functioning and beliefs. For the durations of the book, we observe the destructive power of
religion. Religion can absolutely destroy a society and break it into pieces because religion creates
fear within the people who follow it, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This fear does not allow people to do things they want and is against the basic fundaments of a
healthy society. In a healthy society, people would be free to go outside during night and kids
would be free to whistle. If these fears do not change, then the society will be destroyed because
freedom is a basic necessity for a health society. Continuing on, another example of fear being
fabricated in the minds of the people is during the appearance of the ancestral spirit, during the
funeral of Ezeudu. The ancestral spirits have a sickly odor hung in the air wherever he went,
and flies went with him. Even the greatest medicine men took shelter, when he was near. (122).
The Ibo religion once again is able to fabricate fear into the minds of its followers. The religion
places a fear of ancestral spirits thus making the society sacred of walking around during the
appearance of spirits, which once again violates the freedom of the people. If a religion is
implementing fear within the society, it is slowly killing itself because people deserve freedom.
Fear leads to destruction. In addition, a religion can unquestionably destroy a society due to class
divisions. Osu s are the outcast of the Ibo religion. An osu [can] not attend an assembly of the free
born and they, in turn, [can] not shelter under his roof (156). With a religion like Ibo creating class
divisions, it

Sterilization Research Paper
Wash and Sterilization Process
Washing and sterilizing surgical instrument and materials are extremely important in the practice of
asepsis. Sterilizing all surgical instrument and materials prevents surgical sight infections. Over
many years, there were many different ways the sterilization process was preformed. Many
microbiologists and physicians took part in the discovery of and importance of the sterilization
process. Today there are many steps to sterilizing surgical equipment.
Before people knew what caused infection and many people died from surgical procedures. In
ancient times, demons and evil spirits were thought to be the cause of pestilence and infection.
Methods involving witchcraft and magic were used to drive them away. (Skellie, 2010) In 1450 BC

Today there are many precautions that are taken to insure that the equipment used in hospitals and
other heath care facilities are washed properly before being sterilized. Shortly after the surgical
procedure, the soiled and contaminated equipment is sorted and is taken to the decontamination
room. The decontamination team then should be properly downed in attire used to handle blood
and other contaminants. The instruments and other equipment are rinsed off and soaked in cool
sterile water with an enzymatic detergent. Using saline is not advised as this permanently damages
the instruments. Each instrument should be individually scrubbed to help eliminate debris. This
starts off the washing process. Many facilities invest in washers like the water decontaminator to
minimize manual cleaning. Another means of washing instruments is called the ultrasonic washer.
This washer used sound waves by, converting high frequency sound waves into mechanical

Walt Disney Company.
Walt Disney Company is famed for its creativity, strong global brand, and uncanny ability to take
service and experience businesses to higher levels. In the early 1990s, then CEO Michael Eisner
looked to the fast food industry as a way to draw additional attention to the Disney presence
outside of its theme parks its retail chain was highly successful and growing rapidly.
A fast food restaurant made sense from Eisner s perspective since Disney s theme parks had
already mastered rapid, high volume food preparation, and, despite somewhat undistinguished food
and high prices (or perhaps because of), all its in park restaurants were extremely profitable. From
this inspiration, Mickey s Kitchen was launched. The first two locations were ... Show more content

This strategy is usually associated with charging a premium price for the product often to reflect the
higher production costs and extra value added features provided for the consumer. Differentiation is
about charging a premium price that more than covers the additional production costs, and about
giving customers clear reasons to prefer the product over other, less differentiated products.
As Walt DisneyCompany is famed for its creativity and strong global brand, Disney appear to
create value in its business primarily through a differentiation strategy.

Walt Disney Company has financial support on Mickey s Kitchen opening. Moreover, Disney s

The primary and support activities in the company and its theme park is an advantage to the

marketing and sales, and service. The support activities which is a secondary activity are

Wuthering Heights Thesis
At the center of Wuthering Heights lies a tragic vision of decay and detachment which depends
completely on the severances Emily Bronte has created between characters, estates, and social
statuses. Bronte reveals societal flaws that had never before been recognized during her time and
creates a raw vision of Victorian life; one in which the differences between characters and their
social standings outweigh their true beliefs and desires when it comes to who they choose to be,
who they choose to surround themselves with, and how they choose to treat those around them. In
its most distinct form, Wuthering Heightsis a love story that chronicles the lives of Catherine
Earnshawand Heathcliff, regardless of the distance between them. It is... Show more content on

Bronte illustrates the Heights as having a very blunt and intimidating appearance. It is a very
strong and prominent structure, however it proves to be a very desolate and lonely place.
Likewise, those who inhabit it prove to be somewhat tormented souls. Nelly describes Heathcliff
after his subjection to the Heights without Catherine, A half civilized ferocity lurked yet in the
depressed brows and eyes full of black fire, but it was subdued; and his manner was even dignified:
quite divested of roughness, though too stern for grace (Bronte, 95). Just a few miles away, the
Grange represents sanity and sensibility with its refinement and pleasant appearance. The civility of
its inhabitants, the Lintons, and their distinguished status stand in stark contrast to the more
disturbed Wuthering Heights. Bronte takes great care to create these images of the two estates for
readers because it is what they stand for that drives Catherine and Heathcliff apart in the first place.
Ironically, Bronte also uses setting to reunite Catherine and Heathcliff. The moors that separate the
two estates represent a sort of heaven for the two, where they used to lose themselves when they
were young, the only place either of the two ever truly felt they belonged. It is here that the two
roam together in the afterlife.
As previously discussed, Bronte is fully aware of the division between

Nat Turner s Role In The Abolishment Of Slavery
Some people think his actions are crazy. Other suggest that his actions were rational and justified.
Whether or not you believe either of these, it is certain that Nat Turner was a revolutionary figure.
Nat Turner played a key role in the abolishment of slavery. He organized the most notable slave
uprising in modern history. Under his leadership, rebellious slaves killed over 50 white people in
August 1831. Although violence should not be condoned, the brutality of the massacre opened the
eyes of Virginians and citizens across America. The rebellion began to make people see the extent
slaves would go to in order to be freed from their confined lives.
Nat Turner s impact on human history was substantial. His initial goal of freeing his people of
slavery was not accomplished initially. However, his expression of fearlessness and
determination was a key point in the disintegration of slavery 34 years after his death. Ever since
the attacks, Nat Turner and his life history have been well documented. There are so many people
that have been affected by Nat Turner s life. People have been left with questions that cannot be
answered about the rebellion. In order to look for answers to Turner s controversial actions, we
look toward the authors, producers, and historians who have studied Nat Turner and his life.
Immediately after his capture, Nat Turner delivered his confessions to Thomas R. Gray. Gray wrote
down what Turner told him and published a pamphlet after Turner s death.

Relationship Between Milk Market Participation
In this chapter, we study the relationship between the milk market participation of smallholder
households and women`s intra household bargaining power in Ethiopia. Our data show that
household income is indeed substantially higher in milk market participating households (101
versus 49 birr daily). This higher income of participating households is almost completely earned
by selling raw milk to the market. The other way of receiving milk income processing raw milk into
butter and cottage cheese for sale at the local market is much less important in market participant
households than in non participant households.
This difference has important consequences for the distribution of income within the household.
Milk income from the formal market is received and controlled by men (who sign the contract
with the milk company), whereas income from the local market is received and controlled by
women. The consequences for the intra household distribution of income are clearly reflected in
our data. In milk market participant households, men`s milk income is on average 93 birr per day,
whereas in non participant households men do not earn income from milk on a daily bases.
Women tend to earn and control the entire dairy income in non participant households (34 birr per
day), but earn only 4 birr milk income per day in market participant households.
The central goal of the current study was to find out what the consequences of this change are for
the bargaining position of

Management Styles in the Workplace
Management styles are wide and varied across the entire world of work. The specific type of
management that works for one particular set of workers does not always work for another group
of employees. Almost everyone has come into direct contact with a manager at some point in their
careers. It is the relationship between the employee and the manager that must be keenly developed;
in order for an office, factory, restaurant, or similar organization to run smoothly and effectively.
When an organization is being managed efficiently, workers are much more upbeat, production
levels are optimal, and the overall working environment has a fragrance of positivity. In sharp
contrast, when an organization is ineffectively managed, more times than... Show more content on

Little did they understand that through the Teamwork Style of leadership, every member on the
team was able to formulate the plan that was given by the manager to suit their own personal
work style; provided the job was done right. One team work project in particular was the
shipping and receiving of airplane parts. If one member of the team was more skilled in
checking in the airplane parts, then that would be his assigned task. If another team member
was more skilled at distributing the airplane parts throughout the plant then they would be
assigned that specific job. If one of the team had a problem or concern about the job project, then
the other team members would make positively sure that they were helped before they went to
the manager. This approach helped immensely to show that team work is an effective way of
getting a large project done with relative ease. The team concept also helped to increase the
awareness of team members to fellow team members. If team members are helping each other on
a daily basis, then eventually they will begin to think as a collective team; not as individuals who
happen to have similar jobs. Conflict resolution is the next huge next step that we will deal with
concerning the team work concept. If one of his employees had a problem or concern with
something that was work or personally related, he always maintained a wide open door policy with

Gentrification and White Preference in the Rhode Island...
The loss of public housing and the expanse of the wealth gap throughout the state of Rhode
Island has been a rising issue between the critics and supporters of gentrification, in both urban
areas such as Providence and wealthy areas such as the island of Newport, among other examples.
With the cities under a monopoly headed by the wealth of each neighborhood, one is left to
wonder how such a system is fair to all groups. Relatively speaking, it isn t, and the only ones who
benefit from such a system are white skinned. With the deterioration of the economic status of
Rhode Island, and especially in the cityof Providence, more and more educated Caucasians are
leaving to seek a more fertile economic environment.
Gentrification is a general ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, many cities that are rich in culture, diversity, and vitality are beacons for white
people interested in the upcoming scene. This brings more and more whites who displace and
marginalize the original residents through increasing prices. Cities such as New York, Boston,
and San Francisco all have neighborhoods that originally had mostly poor, uneducated African
Americans, and now are swelling with young, educated whites that have greatly increased the
price of living. In Boston, Charlestown, Jamaica Plains, and Beacon Hill have all experienced
intense characteristics of gentrification from the 1970s up until the present, showcasing an
increase in the population with at least a bachelor s degree, as well as a large increase in new and
renovated buildings. In New York, the most famous example of gentrification is in Harlem, has
undergone a process of gentrification after becoming known as the national, and even international
symbol for black culture with a vibrancy that is not seen in the suburbs. Finally, in San Francisco,
in the bay area, there has been a massive influx of affluent companies that have completely
devastated the middle class due to a high rise in wealthy, educated, employees. These employees
have taken residence up in the bay area, causing the entirety of the already previously gentrified
neighborhood to skyrocket to unobtainable prices, even for the

A Report On Cyber Security Breaches
Cyber security breaches have shown a spike in 2015, with large scale compromises on companies

tools to prevent future attacks. FireEye, a cyber security firm, has started to fill the void and is
reaping the rewards.
Company Overview
FireEye is an industry leader in total security threat protection. The organization has a unique set of
security products which enable organizations to protect their online assets from attacks in real time.

This brief will examine FireEye s position as it relates to Michael Porter s Five Forces of
competition; Threat of New Entrants, Threat of Substitutes, Bargaining Power of Suppliers
/Customers, and Rivalry among Existing Competitors.
Threats of New Entrants
There are a variety of barriers that an organization may face when entering into a particular market
space. In the case of FireEye, the barriers they faced in the cyber security domain were incumbents
in the market, like customers exhibiting cost sensitivity in switching from their existing service.
The majority of the customer s in the cyber security industry has multiple cyber related business
like antivirus, providing network hardware, providing security services, performing audits and
assessments and risk advisory services. Company s like Palo Alto and McAfee are entering into
malware analysis with very less or no profit margin set to attract more customers. This affects the
quality of the product and poses a critical challenge for FireEye.
FireEye, unlike its competition, does not have easy access to distribution channels distribution
partners. Proper distribution channel is a matter of concern when expanding the sales to countries
other than US.
The growing number of cyber security threats has brought about a proliferation of businesses
offering various forms of network protection solutions. This may

In July of 2015, I had the opportunity to attend Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). RYLA
is a summer camp that focuses on transforming students into leaders and creating awareness for
different issues throughout society. The 2015 session included three activities that built my
character and changed me for the better, These activities were the culture walk, breaking of the
boards, and exchange ceremony. For the culture walk, our leader split the room into two halves
and had certain groups of heavily stereotyped people take turns gathering together on one side .
They were then asked questions such as what do you never want to hear someone say about your
group again? and were asked to answer out loud. The other half of the room remained quiet until
asked to respond. Some of the responses to the aforementioned question were: Boys who cry are...

get energized. Once the energy could be felt buzzing through the room, our counselors began
grabbing chairs and setting them next to each other. One of the counselors set her board
between two chairs and broke it in half with her bare hand. We all watched intently and began
cheering as she succeeded. We followed her example, and by the end of the activity, everyone
had broken their board using their hand or foot. This was such an empowering activity for me. I

MACHINE QUICK RETURN MECHANISM 2.1 Objective The objective of this experiment is
to investigate the performance of a whitworth quick turn motion and to verify that the motion
does have a quick return stroke and a slow cutting or forward stroke. 2.2 Theory Definition of a
mechanism Mechanisms are a simplified model, usually in the form of a line diagram, which is
used to reproduce exactly the motion occurring in a machine. The purpose if this reproduction is
to enable the nature of the motion to be investigated without the encumbrance of the various
solid bodies which forms the machine elements. 2.3 Whitworth s quick return mechanism

Toyota s Lean Manufacturing Process
Prior to Toyota s Production System, the company was efficient, yet could not compete with large
American competitors such as General Motors and Ford. Therefore, management realized that if
the company was to be successful not only in Japan, but globally it would need to improve its
manufacturing process. Consequently, the company developed Toyota s lean manufacturing
process, which is still used today. The LMP was used to eliminate waste in the entire production
process to become more responsive to market demand and produce high quality products
economically. In order to provide superior products, Toyota implemented many revolutionary
strategies. For example, the company started, or invented, the Just in Time Manufacturing process.
The JIT process, according to our text, is used to reduce inventory costs by scheduling supplies to
arrive just in time to enter the production process or as inventory stock is depleted (Hill et al.,
2015). Toyota used the just in time system to improve its supply chain management, which
drastically decreased costs and increased the company s production facilities output as compared to
its competitors. In addition to JIT, the company introduced a concept known as Kanbanthat was
included within the new JIT system. The Kanban system was developed by Ohno and was used to
arrange for components and/or assemblies manufactured at Toyota to be delivered to the assembly
floor only when needed, not before (Hill et al., 2015). Essentially the Kanban

The Crying Of Lot 49 Essay
In Thomas Pynchon s The Crying of Lot 49 was written during the 1960s when drugs were
becoming increasingly popular. The focus on drugs is one of the main themes of the novel and
plays a relevant supporting role in the development of the novel. The novel s other major themes
include the importance of communication and the division of society. This novels themes are
relevant to the society of the time period they were written in because in the 1960s when there was
a peak in political and social movements. The importance of communication is weaved all
throughout the novel, as we see Oedipa constantly receiving letters, that for some reason only make
the plot of the story more intricate rather than simplifying it. The story really begins when Oedipa
receives a simple letter that somehow ends up turning into a mystery that she nearly goes insane in
the process of figuring it out. The characters write letters that slightly reveal their thoughts but also
at the same time complicate the plot even more. This is significant because communication is and
has always been a very important aspect of society. Before electronics like phones and computers
were invented, the only way to communicate with others long distance was to write a letter. Another

The Tripartite Soul In Phaedrus, By Plato
In Plato s, Phaedrus, Plato describes what has become known as the Tripartite Soul which describes
the human soul as having three parts corresponding to the three classes of society in a just city.
Individual justice consists in maintaining these three parts in the correct power relationships, which
reason ruling, spirit aiding reason, and appetite obeying.
In A Study of Human Nature Platotries to explain his Tripartite theory by ways of a parable, a
vivid illustration which describes the soul as having three parts (tripartite):
I divided each soul into three parts two having the form of horses and the third being the
charioteer... I have said that one horse was good, the other bad.
These three parts are described as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, by virtue of the soul being a corporation of three distinct forces, this raises philosophical
issues regarding the soul s immortality. The soul would not be strong enough to survive the
destruction of the body. This can not be true because the soul directly controls the motions of the
body; for the soul can will the body in any way it chooses.
To further prove this; biologically it is undeniable that the need to drink when thirsty is an
impulse that occurs in all of us, it is hard to say the origins of this occur in an appetitive portion
of our soul. Rather it is more accurate to suggest that it is a physiological reaction to the condition
of dehydration. That is not to say that it is not an impulse we can t control, but it seems more
plausible to explain our desire to drink as being that desire to maintain proper bodily function, and
so perhaps it is the rational intellect operating out of self preservation that motivates us to act
accordingly.
Plato fails to realise that the three parts of the soul simultaneously interact with one another and that
each part of the tripartite can exist within each other. It is not enough to distinguish the calculative,
the passionate, and the desiderative, or with others the rational, or the irrational; for it is absurd to
split the last mentioned ability because wish is found in the calculative part and desire and passion
in the irrational; and if the soul is tripartite, appetite will be found in all three parts.

19th Century Russian Society
Russian society in C.19th was based upon hierarchy. The top of the chain was the king, We rule
over you , after the king was the government, We govern you , after comes the church/temple, We
pray for you , then the army, We shoot you , after the lords/upper class, We eat for you and at the
bottom the working class/serfs/middle class, We work for you we feed you. The cartoon shows
a very simple yet powerful chain of division of class! Russian society was a military state as the
cartoon shows that the army is on top of the lords/upper class men and women as would be
depicted in a Nazi Germany / Weimar Germany cartoon. The Kaiser would be on top and the same
structure would be depicted. Because the military is on top of the people it show that the state

there were practically slaves to the landlords and not peasants was because the landlord had the

Serfdom was a problem for Russia because it caused military incompetence as well as food
shortages, over population, civil disorder, and industrial backwardness. This all meant that Russia
was weaker than ever which was then proven in the Crimean war in which the allies defeated
Russia leaving Russia humiliated. Because these excuses were so oversimplified it was, therefore, a

The People Of The Khasa
even the slaves of the Khasa. The Khasa is considered the people left behind during one of the
many violent prehistoric battles. That stayed and created a life for themselves in the cities they
conquered. These early settlers paved the way for the culture and way of life that still thrives in
these mountains. Being only able to appropriately live in the middle himalaya to the plateau
range during prehistoric migrations the Greater Himalayan region remained untouched.
Mountaineering, alpinism, climbing all mean the same. The purpose of enjoying climbing
itself as a sport or recreation, distinct from merely climbing while hunting or as a religious
pilgrimage. This was not a thing until around the 1854 when a man called Sir Alfred Wills
climbed the Wetterhorn in the swiss alps came back to england and formed the first alpine club.
This marked the beginning of a sport that has killed the people that live with it and baffles the
people who live without it. Around a hundred years later the world of alpinism was looking for
unsubmitted peaks and they turned to the himalayas. This was not the first time the himalayas
had people attempting to summit some if its ridges. In the history of people climbing mountains
there is two types of ways to do it. Expedition style and alpine style. Expedition style climbing is
when you bring a large slow moving party and make your way up the slopes in a series of camps.
This was a common type of climbing in the early years with massive millitarys

Pros And Cons Of Drug Testing In Schools
Imagine if your child or you walked into school and was randomly tested for drug residue. You or
your child did nothing wrong and they have no evidence that he or she was taking drugs. How
would you feel about that? Would you be alright with that? This is brought up because this topic of
being drug tested in schools randomly is being argued about quite often. Drug testsshould not be
mandatory for students because they violate students rights, are very costly, and are not an
effective way of getting rid of drug use in schools. Firstly, drug tests should not be required for
students because they violate students rights. Drug tests sometimes increase feelings of paranoia
and guilt, which is not right. The athletes have not done anything wrong, yet the school treats
them like they have with these drug tests. A boy was trying out for a sport and in order to be
able to play, he had to take a drug test. His father was very against it, as well as his son. York
considered it a violation of his son s privacy and thought it sent the message that his son was guilty
until proven innocent (McLure). In the American court system we follow the rule of Innocent until
proven guilty . The drug tests are going against the traditional American court system that our
Founding Fathers created in the early years of our country. They fought for our country and some
died. They took the job of setting up guidelines for our government and country, which most likely
was not easy. The most we can

The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall Themes
The only cruelty greater than death is the nature of the life that precedes it. One s reflection before
nothingness is lost with the person, and will never truly be known nor understood. Katherine Anne
Porter s The Jilting of Granny Weatherall speaks to humanity s difficulty with accepting the finality
of deaththrough the denial of a dying old woman. The story s themes of memory by emotion and
the fault of denial as a solution for grief are underlined by the use of prominent symbols within
broken flashbacks, and intrusions by the story s setting. As Granny Weatherall moves closer to
death, her memories turn from details and stories into her reactions and thoughts from the period.

the agony was unbelievable. The contrast in dialogue brings forth the actual attitude of Granny
Weatherall, but leaves the reader in the dark as to what was not given back. Instead, the narration
focuses on the pain she felt in relation to the Something not given back. The pain is not only related
to her emotional connection, as her death outside of her mind is happening with great realism. The
snapping back to reality aspect of the story parallels the theme of the eventual failure of denial, and
reflects the events Granny Weatherall is recalling. As she lapses into thinking about her typical

Tiger Woods
What makes golf the phenomenal sport it is today? Is it the game itself? Some say golf started in
fifteenth century Scotland by men hitting a pebble with a wooden stick. Currently, graphite drivers
routinely send the ball soaring 300 yards. Perhaps it was the golfers who made the game great.
Arnold Palmer brought golfto the masses in the 1950 s and Jack Nicklaus has set records that have
yet to be broken. However, today sports commentators, pro golfers, and weekend duffers,
generally agree the game of golf has been changed forever with the arrival of Tiger Woods.

In short Tiger Wood s made golf cool; he became the Michael Jordan of golf. One result of the
huge impact Tiger Woods had on the game of golf was that the amount of prize money rose
astronomically. For example three years prior to the Tiger Woods impact a typical tournament
purse was about $500,000. Currently the typical purse for a PGA tournament could be in excess
of $5 million. Individual annual winnings have increased from Paul Runyan in 1934 ($6,767) to
David Duval in 1998 ($2,591,031). There was a significant jump one year later when Tiger
earned $6,616,585 in 1999 and finally the phenomenal amount earned for Tiger Woods in 2006
was $9,941,563! It is striking to see from this data how the purse has increased as Tiger Woods
became so dominate on the tour. The television ratings increase every time Tiger is on TV. I
remember when Mickelson and Chris DiMarco were duking it out in 2004 [during a playoff], my
first thought was how strong the ratings would be. They went down, as opposed to up, in every
Masters tournament that Woods has won. The ratings and popularity of golf have increased since
Tiger won the Masters in 1997. Companies such as Nike, American Express, BMW, and Titleist
are willing to contribute more and more money every year for each tournament s purse. The
individual golfers also receive exponentially better endorsement deals. Major corporations are

Optimizing Pilot Planning and Training for Continental Airlines
Summary
Continental Airlines is the fifth largest airline based on passenger volume in United States. It
provides over 1,100 daily flight services to five continents. Effective manpower planning is a key
component for the success of Continental Airlines. It is essential for Airline Company to adjust its
need for pilots constantly in different position in response to new market opportunities, changing
passenger demand, acquisition and retirement of aircraft and training resources and evolving
economic conditions. Therefore, the company collected information from several separate database
systems and built the training plans by using spreadsheet. However, this development ... Show more

First, the training program constraint is based on the traditional training plan which highlights the
inherent weakness of any optimization model as it relies upon sound data for accurate outputs
(Sarker 2008, p. 5). Second, the potential sources of savings vary depending on different system
bids. It is the fact that a bid will have no cost components associated with those activities when it
is no required on new hires and pilot releases. Third, even using the system, there is a trade off
between block hour shortages and other costs on the training plans. Therefore, when block hour
shortages cost increases, the training cost will decrease, vice versa. It is unable to decrease both
block hour shortages cost and training costs together. Finally, the final decision of the training
program is not automated and requires management to select the best option for each training
program.

above objectives. First, there are three ways for the cost savings. Training classes schedules

Cosmetic Surgery Essay
Everywhere you go you see perfect people. You read a magazine and on every page you see
those beautiful women. You walk through the city and you see 60 year old people without any
wrinkles. Moreover, the people on the television are perfect too. The people you see are not real
anymore. This is a big problem for society, the idealized picture changes every minute and the
pressure to meet this picture increases drastically.
Are all these people born so perfect? Or did they cheat with cosmetic surgery? Of course there are
people who are so lucky they are born flawless. But the majority of the perfect population is not

Cosmetic surgery is, for a lot of women, an aid to increase their self esteem. They see cosmetic

enhance the chance on a job. Because so many women undergo cosmetic surgery, the
employment raises. We need more surgeons and nurses to be able to meet the demand. And of
course the right to do what you want with your body is a reason to go to the cosmetic surgeon.
But cosmetic surgery also knows a dark side. An operation is never without any risks. Cosmetic
surgery can cause serious damage to your body. Besides, you lose your own identity after using
cosmetic surgery. Your own identifying mark is being removed and replaced by a more
common identifying mark. Also the costs of cosmetic surgery are very high. For most people it
is too expensive, so they negotiate a loan. The high costs make cosmetic surgery a mean for rich
people to improve their appearance. And of course we need to wonder if cosmetic surgery is a
good way to make you happy. It is much better to love yourself for who you are, because only
then also other people can love you for who you are. After all for everyone exists the perfect
match. So stay who you are, do what you want and say what you feel, because those who matter

Executive Order Dbq Essay
During World War II, the United States and the Soviet Union created an alliance to prevent Nazi
Germany from spreading their fascist and radical ideals, but after the war, it quickly became
apparent that both countries had intentions to exploit their previously stable relationship. Shortly
after World War II, the Soviet Union made it their primary goal to expand their communist policies
across Europe (and eventually the world). Their communist policies heavily contradicted the reason
why the United States joined World War II, contrasted American ideals, and placed American
democracy in jeopardy. Although relations seemed healthy shortly after the war, the relationship

The United States involved itself in World War II to preserve democracy, but when Joseph Stalin
made it his top priority to spread communism across Europe, the United States goal was
endangered. As a result, in 1947, President Harry Truman created Executive Order 9835, which
called for a loyalty investigation of every person entering the civilian employment of any
department or agency of the executive branch of the Federal Government (Document 1). Truman s
Executive Order exhibits a clear distrust of the protection of American ideals, as Truman would
have never instituted this policy if he were not paranoid of the communistic plague. Truman s
paranoia was not only displayed by Executive Order 9835, but also emulated by the American
people. Truman s Doctrine spurred fear across the American public, most prominently showed in the
trial of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. The Rosenberg s were unfairly tried and biasedly considered
communists by the American government, ultimately resulting in execution. As seen by Elliot

Bacon Rebellion In 1676 a group of poor farmers rebelled against the government and William

Benefits and impediments of insurance coverage
The add on in the insurance is the protection that is offered by the insurance provider at the time of

One of the integral parts of owning a vehicle is the having a motor insurance, but many people think
of it as an annual recurring expenditure. On the other hand, the motor insurances offer many add

Miller, two of the most important Fourth Amendment decisions of the 20th century. In these two
cases, the Court held that people are not entitled to an expectation of privacy in information they

It could be argued that women are indeed present in the minority in surviving Anglo Saxon poetry,
and that therefore, they are made conspicuous through their absence. The fact they may appear less
frequently in Old English Literature does not necessarily mean that women were any less
significant in society at this time, although this is the conclusion reached by some. It is assumed
that women did, in general, have less important and prominent social roles than men at the time,
and the power that they did possess tended to be dictated to them by males. This essay will

This is true of
Beowulf, as although the story of Hildeburh is told, it is not from her point of view. At the centre is
the moving depiction of Hildeburh lamenting her loss as the funeral pyre consumes her brother and
her son. Another funeral pyre, that for Beowulf himself, affords the poet an opportunity to touch
upon in more universal terms but nevertheless powerfully, the theme of the war related sufferings
of women; an anonymous woman who: sang a sorrowful song about Beowulf, said again and again
that she sorely feared for herself invasions of armies, many slaughters, terror of troops, humiliation,
and captivity .
The theme of the ritual mourner was a predominant one in Anglo Saxon times. This could be seen
as a show of power, the woman taking the lead in a situation that would allow her to do so, an
environment in which emotion takes priority over strength and courage. The men present at the
funeral do try to govern the funeral setting and take control of the situation through their creation of
an immense funeral fire. However, it is much easier for the woman to take over when the situation
becomes unfavourable to masculine characteristics.

Moreover, his contributions came at a time where mental health treatment was highly primitive and

Analysis Of Death Of A Salesman By Arthur Miller
Death of a Salesman, by Arthur Miller
1245 Words 5 Pages
Death of A Salesman, written by Arthur Miller, is a play based on the turmoil within an average
American family. Miller wrote Death of A Salesman easily showcasing the elements of drama. I
was easily able to follow the plot, identify with his characters, and picture the setting.
The main theme of the plot seemed to be Willy reaching for the American Dream . Financial success
, business success, outwardly perfect family, revered by your peers, and in general respected by all.
Early on in the play two things are evident to the reader; Willy s questionable mental status, and his
tumultuous relationship with his sons.
Willy is apparently suffering from some sort of mental or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Wagner s. He is also unable to come to terms with his own advancing years as a salesman. He only
goes to Mr. Wagner to ask for a job strictly in New York when Linda insists. What he sees as
valuable experience others see as obsolete. Willy longs for the days when the boys revered him and
they were pals.
Scott Foll states the driving point of plot is conflict (1182). This play definitely has the ultimate
conflict. That is simply, family. Conflict with Willy and Biff, Willy with himself, and Linda with
her sons. For me the turning climactic point is when while talking with Ben, Willy believes he can
regain what he lost years ago with Biff by ending his life. He thinks the twenty thousand from the
insurance money will fix it all. I suppose the resolution in this play was Willy s death. Although I
do not imagine this could truly be resolution for the remaining family.
Characterization seemed to be the most well developed element of the play. The patriarch of the
family, Willy Loman was portrayed as the tragic hero. I believe his character did indeed possess
some character flaws that inevitably led to his death. However, I agree with the character
summary written in Spark Notes that Willy never achieved the self realization or self knowledge
to be labeled a true tragic hero (Miller). He never fully realizes is personal failures, even with his
death. His pride

Benefits Of Ecotourism In Kenya
1.0Introduction
To study the ecotourism in Kenya, this report was written. Ecotourism is a travel to protected areas
that attempts to be low impact and small scale. It helps to educate the traveller, provide funds for
conservation, directly benefit the economic development and political empowerment of local
communities, and cultivate respect for different cultures and for human rights (Honey 2008, 33).
However, the concept evolved to encompass considerably more than simply nature based travel to
natural areas, with subsequent definitions including the importance of distributing environmental
and socio economic benefits to the local population (Honey 2008; Ross and Wall 1999; Epler Wood
2002). Kenya is one of the global leaders in tourism and community based ecotourism, working

The most obvious and immediate benefits of ecotourism associated with local communities are
employment opportunities and income generation for the host region. Community in Mara and

empowerment is also related to a community s access to productive resources in an area targeted by
ecotourism( ). When ecotourism focuses on preservation of natural resources, economic livelihoods
of local people may be threatened. However, the communities have other sources of income from
ecotourism such as nursing, teaching, waiters, guides, plantation farming, bee keeping and fish

Zoos Are Saving Endangered Animals From Extinction Many thought zoos were just for attraction,
but they are meant for more than just that.
Several zoos that we go to nowadays with our families are not only there for the sightseeing of
the animals, but they are they re for their safety. Endangered animals are now the priority of
practically every zoo in the world. There have already been six species around the world saved from
extinction by zoos. One may wonder, what do these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The caretakers of the zoos and the animal care staff always make sure that the animals are always
well looked after and feel as close to their natural habitat and home as possible. The safe
environment of the zoo increases life expectancy of endangered animals. As said by naturalist
Kate Sheridan from Quora.com that animals live longer in zoos because they are removed from
the food change and from natural hazards. The animals health and diet is monitored carefully so
if anything is wrong with the animals , the zoo veterinarians know what to do and how to heal
the animal. Several species have been protected and reintroduced by zoos. A study by Ariel
Woodruff on Uproxx.com lists many animals who were saved by zoos. Here are a few endangered
species who were protected by zoological parks; the Red Wolf was placed on the list of most
endangered animals in 1969. With fewer and fewer wolves left , The Point Defiance Zoo and
Aquarium and the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service took action by working on four of the Red
Wolves left in the world. By 1980 the scientists of the The Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and
U.S Fish and Wildlife Service declared that the breed was extinct but then in 1987 the Red Wolf
was revived . Now there are more than 100 Red Wolves in the world. In the same study by Ariel
Woodruff , the California Condor was placed in the near to extinction list in the early 1980 s with
only 23 birds streaming in the skies.

The Tulsa race riot of 1921 was a dark time in the history of Oklahoma. It all began with a simple
misunderstanding, but had catastrophic consequences. Homes and businesses were destroyed,
many African Americans and whites were killed, and Tulsa had lost its soul. In the beginning

Louis and many communities in between white mobs pursued what can only be described as a
reign of terror against African Americans during the period from 1917 to 1923. As Mr. Patrick
stated this was probably one of the worst if not the worst domestic act violence. Even today
people do not have the knowledge or refuse to believe what happened that day in 1921. The
official death toll was 35(Patrick, 1999) but it is believed that many more hundreds were killed,
because many bodies were dumped into the river of coal mines or burned (Patrick, 1999). Here are
other numbers that Mr. Patrick writes in his article, 1500 African Americanhomes destroyed, 600
businesses destroyed, 21 churches, 21 restaurants, 30 stores, 2 movie theaters, a hospital, a bank,
a post office, libraries, and schools. It takes people with an exponential amount of hate in their

Freudian Theory In The Film Inception
1. Throughout the movie Inception, Christopher Nolan utilizes the Freudian Theory to explain the
many experiences Cobb has within his dreams. The most prominent exemplification of this theory
is Cobb repeatedly seeing a subconscious projection of his wife, Mal, within his dreams. After Mal
committed suicide by perceiving herself in an altered state of conscious (a dream) as she was
attempting to wake up from it; Cobb s guilt of causing her accidental death by performing
inception on her led him to flee his children and abandon his previous life in search of a way to
clear his tainted memories.
Despite these attempts, Cobb s guilt infiltrated its way into his own subconscious and projected
itself in his dreams. The Freudian Theory on Dreaming, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The feelings of unfulfilled desires Cobb has are clearly portrayed by the visions of his children that
he abandoned (not entirely thanks to the help of Professor Miles).
The movie Inception portrays the states of consciousness by using the totems the characters had
created to differentiate their altered states of conscious (dreams) from their conscious. Cobb s
totem was a wedding ring that he would be wearing while dreaming and not when not dreaming.
The final scene left off for open interpretation as it did not portray the state of conscious Cobb
was in, as his wife s totem (a spinning top) was not revealed to have toppled (as it does in reality)
or continued spinning (as it does in his dreams).
2. The movie Inception explains how our mind constructs dreams from subconscious thought
processes that are fueled with hopes and ideas for what we our life to be (what Disney defines as
dreams ). An example the construction of a reality within a dream would be The city Limbo that
Cobb and Mal both created together while undergoing inception. Limbo was Cobb and Mal s ideal
world in which they would use figments of their past experiences from reality (Mal s childhood
home) to construct a subconscious

Assignment 8: Jewish Identity
A.What is the criteria for being Jewish? What does it mean to be Jewish?
When looking at Judaism, one has to go far back to biblical times to fully understand its origins. It
started with the Hebrew people in the country of Israel. The bloodline of Abraham, Issac, and
Jacob is what constitutes people as being Jewish. Being classified as a Jew, or a Jewish citizen
has more to do with family ties, then what you believe in. The standard for being considered
Jewish is that you have to be born to a Jewish mother. Some sects of Judaism like to include being

Those who followed Bar Kochba, Shabbatai Tzv, and Lubavith strongly believed that they were
the messiah. These people were rabbis, many of the Jewish faith strongly believed in the words
that they were saying. They truly thought that they were the messiah. Many Jewish people still

Dalai Lama And The Lama
Dalai Lama I pray for a more friendly, more caring, and more understanding human family on this
planet. To all who dislike suffering, who adore lasting happiness this is my heartfelt appeal. The
fourteenth Dalai Lama who was born on July 6. 1935 is came from a very small village in
northeast Tibet called Taktser. The Dalai Lama
is the fourteenth leaders of Tibet. The Dalai Lama
means different things to different people. Dalai Lama called Ocean of Wisdom . The Tibetan
Government had not simply to appoint a successor, but to discover the child in whom the
Buddha of Compassion would incarnate, the child need not have been born just at the death of
His precursor, or even very soon thereafter when the thirteenth Dalai Lama died in 1935. As
before, there would be signs of where to search. For example, when the Thirteenth Dalai Lama s
body was laid in a temple facing south, His head turned to the east twice, and to the east of his
temple a great fungus appeared on the east side of a pillar of well seasoned wood. The Regent of
Tibet went to the sacred lake of Lhamoe Lhatso, where Tibetans have seen visions of the future.
There he saw, among other things, a monastery with roofs of green jade and gold and a house with
turquoise tiles. A detailed description of the entire vision was written down and kept a strict secret.

Security
As with many great idea there within lies caveats. The need for security is crucial. After all, any
breach can cause serious harm to the business and its employees. In order to secure such a complex
Unified Communications (UC), one must understand the vulnerabilities to be had. Within this
research project, the security concerns shall be addressed prior in order to learn the possibilities to

The Need for Commonality and Uniform Structure
With the continued rise of the Internet of Things (IoT), so does the continued rise of urgency on
part of most product manufacturers and service providers to produce a device that can not only
communicate information regarding its current condition, but also communicate the condition of
what is around the device. The fast pace of IoT development has produced a perplexing variety of
device configurations, each with their own attributes, data structures, and particularities. In
addition, companies are deploying variations of devices, each designed to meet specific purposes.
As a result, the ability to manage IoT devices is rapidly diminishing.
Configuration Management
Another concern regards is configuration management. In time, some common standards will
become a part of the design for IoT devices. However, when these standards mature and

even our country s relatively stable financial situation compared to most other countries. However,
many Australians fail to see how Australia is sacrificing this natural beauty, internationally

reflect on the vulnerability of Australias culture, icons and healthy ecosystems and challenge the

Sexism In Society
Sexism, racism, and violence have been a part of the world since the beginning of time.
Everyday, it is clear that issues such as these continue to play a role in the lives of many people.
Our society has moved forward in the direction towards ending racism, sexism, and violence, but
these changes still do not meet the standard of decency. Despite the modern movement for
women s rights being implemented into today s society, as well as efforts to eliminate racism and
violent language, humanity needs to become more progressive in order to create a truly equal
society. Violence in language gives the general public the image that violence is tolerable, while
also promoting brutality. Language guidelines from the North York Women Teacher s Association
alter violent phrases such as, get away with murder into its alternative, avoid consequences.
Violence has made its way into modern language where the majority of people do not necessarily
try to stop it. According to Michiko Kakutani, a Pulitzer Prize winning literary critic, the
prohibition of certain words, phrases, and ideas is advanced in the cause of building a... Show more

Sexism in modern life is men receiving a higher salary than women for just being men. The idea
that women cannot be strong while being independent is absurd. Society uses harsh language
towards women as if the negativity in the words have a neutral tone and meaning, when in fact
they represent the very reason why women are still viewed as weaker and dependent upon men.
Sexism will not cease to exist unless the degrading of women stops. According to Kakutani s The
Word Police, the 1991 edition of the Random House Webster s Dictionary includes linguistic
mutations to avoid sexism, such as the change from women to womyn, and waiter or waitress to
waitron. This shows how some communities have accepted that both genders should be equally

Theme Of The Autobiography Of An Ex-Colored Man
In The Autobiography of an Ex Colored Man written by James Weldon Johnson, the theme that
builds up throughout the novel is identity is shaped by many different aspects, and, at times, it can
be hard to find. The main character, James Weldon Johnson, goes through multiple different
aspects of society with hardships and difficulties while he is finding who he is. In order to find his
identity, James finds out that he is a black man; he encounters many hardships; wonders if his
passion is with music; and, in the end, comes to identify himself as a white man.
Growing up Johnson is known by all, except his mother, that he is a white man. He is treated as a
white individual with white privileges. This doesn t really change until his second term of his first
year in school. The principal comes to talk to the students. When he requests this, he asks for all
white students to stand up. James stands, but his teacher says you sit down for the present, and rise

  • 2. The Power Of Religion By Chinua Achebe The Power of Religion A religion to some is the basic world views for a person, to some it is the basic behaviors and practices and to others it is an order of existence. Throughout history, the world has witnessed a religions power to guide a society, but many have also witnessed a religion destroy a society as well. Within the novel Things Fall Apartby Chinua Achebe, the world witnesses many religions, for example the Ibo religion and Christianity. We are able to get a delightful insight on their ways of functioning and beliefs. For the durations of the book, we observe the destructive power of religion. Religion can absolutely destroy a society and break it into pieces because religion creates fear within the people who follow it, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This fear does not allow people to do things they want and is against the basic fundaments of a healthy society. In a healthy society, people would be free to go outside during night and kids would be free to whistle. If these fears do not change, then the society will be destroyed because freedom is a basic necessity for a health society. Continuing on, another example of fear being fabricated in the minds of the people is during the appearance of the ancestral spirit, during the funeral of Ezeudu. The ancestral spirits have a sickly odor hung in the air wherever he went, and flies went with him. Even the greatest medicine men took shelter, when he was near. (122). The Ibo religion once again is able to fabricate fear into the minds of its followers. The religion places a fear of ancestral spirits thus making the society sacred of walking around during the appearance of spirits, which once again violates the freedom of the people. If a religion is implementing fear within the society, it is slowly killing itself because people deserve freedom. Fear leads to destruction. In addition, a religion can unquestionably destroy a society due to class divisions. Osu s are the outcast of the Ibo religion. An osu [can] not attend an assembly of the free born and they, in turn, [can] not shelter under his roof (156). With a religion like Ibo creating class divisions, it ... Sterilizing all surgical instrument and materials prevents surgical sight infections. Over many years, there were many different ways the sterilization process was preformed. Many microbiologists and physicians took part in the discovery of and importance of the sterilization process. Today there are many steps to sterilizing surgical equipment. Before people knew what caused infection and many people died from surgical procedures. In ancient times, demons and evil spirits were thought to be the cause of pestilence and infection. Today there are many precautions that are taken to insure that the equipment used in hospitals and other heath care facilities are washed properly before being sterilized. Shortly after the surgical procedure, the soiled and contaminated equipment is sorted and is taken to the decontamination room. The decontamination team then should be properly downed in attire used to handle blood and other contaminants. The instruments and other equipment are rinsed off and soaked in cool sterile water with an enzymatic detergent. Using saline is not advised as this permanently damages the instruments. Each instrument should be individually scrubbed to help eliminate debris. This starts off the washing process. Many facilities invest in washers like the water decontaminator to minimize manual cleaning. Another means of washing instruments is called the ultrasonic washer. In the early 1990s, then CEO Michael Eisner looked to the fast food industry as a way to draw additional attention to the Disney presence outside of its theme parks its retail chain was highly successful and growing rapidly. A fast food restaurant made sense from Eisner s perspective since Disney s theme parks had already mastered rapid, high volume food preparation, and, despite somewhat undistinguished food and high prices (or perhaps because of), all its in park restaurants were extremely profitable. From this inspiration, Mickey s Kitchen was launched. The first two locations were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This strategy is usually associated with charging a premium price for the product often to reflect the higher production costs and extra value added features provided for the consumer. Differentiation is about charging a premium price that more than covers the additional production costs, and about giving customers clear reasons to prefer the product over other, less differentiated products. As Walt DisneyCompany is famed for its creativity and strong global brand, Disney appear to create value in its business primarily through a differentiation strategy. • 5. Wuthering Heights Thesis At the center of Wuthering Heights lies a tragic vision of decay and detachment which depends completely on the severances Emily Bronte has created between characters, estates, and social statuses. Bronte reveals societal flaws that had never before been recognized during her time and creates a raw vision of Victorian life; one in which the differences between characters and their social standings outweigh their true beliefs and desires when it comes to who they choose to be, who they choose to surround themselves with, and how they choose to treat those around them. In its most distinct form, Wuthering Heightsis a love story that chronicles the lives of Catherine Earnshawand Heathcliff, regardless of the distance between them. It is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Bronte illustrates the Heights as having a very blunt and intimidating appearance. It is a very strong and prominent structure, however it proves to be a very desolate and lonely place. Likewise, those who inhabit it prove to be somewhat tormented souls. Nelly describes Heathcliff after his subjection to the Heights without Catherine, A half civilized ferocity lurked yet in the depressed brows and eyes full of black fire, but it was subdued; and his manner was even dignified: quite divested of roughness, though too stern for grace (Bronte, 95). Just a few miles away, the Grange represents sanity and sensibility with its refinement and pleasant appearance. The civility of its inhabitants, the Lintons, and their distinguished status stand in stark contrast to the more disturbed Wuthering Heights. Bronte takes great care to create these images of the two estates for readers because it is what they stand for that drives Catherine and Heathcliff apart in the first place. Ironically, Bronte also uses setting to reunite Catherine and Heathcliff. The moors that separate the two estates represent a sort of heaven for the two, where they used to lose themselves when they were young, the only place either of the two ever truly felt they belonged. It is here that the two roam together in the afterlife. As previously discussed, Bronte is fully aware of the division between ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Nat Turner s Role In The Abolishment Of Slavery Some people think his actions are crazy. Other suggest that his actions were rational and justified. Whether or not you believe either of these, it is certain that Nat Turner was a revolutionary figure. Nat Turner played a key role in the abolishment of slavery. He organized the most notable slave uprising in modern history. Under his leadership, rebellious slaves killed over 50 white people in August 1831. Although violence should not be condoned, the brutality of the massacre opened the eyes of Virginians and citizens across America. The rebellion began to make people see the extent slaves would go to in order to be freed from their confined lives. Nat Turner s impact on human history was substantial. His initial goal of freeing his people of slavery was not accomplished initially. However, his expression of fearlessness and determination was a key point in the disintegration of slavery 34 years after his death. Ever since the attacks, Nat Turner and his life history have been well documented. There are so many people that have been affected by Nat Turner s life. People have been left with questions that cannot be answered about the rebellion. In order to look for answers to Turner s controversial actions, we look toward the authors, producers, and historians who have studied Nat Turner and his life. Immediately after his capture, Nat Turner delivered his confessions to Thomas R. Gray. Gray wrote down what Turner told him and published a pamphlet after Turner s death. ... • 8. Relationship Between Milk Market Participation In this chapter, we study the relationship between the milk market participation of smallholder households and women`s intra household bargaining power in Ethiopia. Our data show that household income is indeed substantially higher in milk market participating households (101 versus 49 birr daily). This higher income of participating households is almost completely earned by selling raw milk to the market. The other way of receiving milk income processing raw milk into butter and cottage cheese for sale at the local market is much less important in market participant households than in non participant households. This difference has important consequences for the distribution of income within the household. Milk income from the formal market is received and controlled by men (who sign the contract with the milk company), whereas income from the local market is received and controlled by women. The consequences for the intra household distribution of income are clearly reflected in our data. In milk market participant households, men`s milk income is on average 93 birr per day, whereas in non participant households men do not earn income from milk on a daily bases. Women tend to earn and control the entire dairy income in non participant households (34 birr per day), but earn only 4 birr milk income per day in market participant households. The central goal of the current study was to find out what the consequences of this change are for the bargaining position of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The specific type of management that works for one particular set of workers does not always work for another group of employees. Almost everyone has come into direct contact with a manager at some point in their careers. It is the relationship between the employee and the manager that must be keenly developed; in order for an office, factory, restaurant, or similar organization to run smoothly and effectively. When an organization is being managed efficiently, workers are much more upbeat, production levels are optimal, and the overall working environment has a fragrance of positivity. Little did they understand that through the Teamwork Style of leadership, every member on the team was able to formulate the plan that was given by the manager to suit their own personal work style; provided the job was done right. One team work project in particular was the shipping and receiving of airplane parts. If one member of the team was more skilled in checking in the airplane parts, then that would be his assigned task. If another team member was more skilled at distributing the airplane parts throughout the plant then they would be assigned that specific job. If one of the team had a problem or concern about the job project, then the other team members would make positively sure that they were helped before they went to the manager. This approach helped immensely to show that team work is an effective way of getting a large project done with relative ease. The team concept also helped to increase the awareness of team members to fellow team members. If team members are helping each other on a daily basis, then eventually they will begin to think as a collective team; not as individuals who happen to have similar jobs. Conflict resolution is the next huge next step that we will deal with concerning the team work concept. • 10. Gentrification and White Preference in the Rhode Island... The loss of public housing and the expanse of the wealth gap throughout the state of Rhode Island has been a rising issue between the critics and supporters of gentrification, in both urban areas such as Providence and wealthy areas such as the island of Newport, among other examples. With the cities under a monopoly headed by the wealth of each neighborhood, one is left to wonder how such a system is fair to all groups. Relatively speaking, it isn t, and the only ones who benefit from such a system are white skinned. With the deterioration of the economic status of Rhode Island, and especially in the cityof Providence, more and more educated Caucasians are leaving to seek a more fertile economic environment. Gentrification is a general ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, many cities that are rich in culture, diversity, and vitality are beacons for white people interested in the upcoming scene. This brings more and more whites who displace and marginalize the original residents through increasing prices. Cities such as New York, Boston, and San Francisco all have neighborhoods that originally had mostly poor, uneducated African Americans, and now are swelling with young, educated whites that have greatly increased the price of living. In Boston, Charlestown, Jamaica Plains, and Beacon Hill have all experienced intense characteristics of gentrification from the 1970s up until the present, showcasing an increase in the population with at least a bachelor s degree, as well as a large increase in new and renovated buildings. In New York, the most famous example of gentrification is in Harlem, has undergone a process of gentrification after becoming known as the national, and even international symbol for black culture with a vibrancy that is not seen in the suburbs. Finally, in San Francisco, in the bay area, there has been a massive influx of affluent companies that have completely devastated the middle class due to a high rise in wealthy, educated, employees. These employees have taken residence up in the bay area, causing the entirety of the already previously gentrified neighborhood to skyrocket to unobtainable prices, even for the ... Threats of New Entrants There are a variety of barriers that an organization may face when entering into a particular market space. In the case of FireEye, the barriers they faced in the cyber security domain were incumbents in the market, like customers exhibiting cost sensitivity in switching from their existing service. The majority of the customer s in the cyber security industry has multiple cyber related business like antivirus, providing network hardware, providing security services, performing audits and assessments and risk advisory services. • 13. Rotary Youth Leadership Experience Paper In July of 2015, I had the opportunity to attend Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA). RYLA is a summer camp that focuses on transforming students into leaders and creating awareness for different issues throughout society. The 2015 session included three activities that built my character and changed me for the better, These activities were the culture walk, breaking of the boards, and exchange ceremony. For the culture walk, our leader split the room into two halves and had certain groups of heavily stereotyped people take turns gathering together on one side . They were then asked questions such as what do you never want to hear someone say about your group again? and were asked to answer out loud. The other half of the room remained quiet until asked to respond. Some of the responses to the aforementioned question were: Boys who cry are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once the energy could be felt buzzing through the room, our counselors began grabbing chairs and setting them next to each other. One of the counselors set her board between two chairs and broke it in half with her bare hand. We all watched intently and began cheering as she succeeded. We followed her example, and by the end of the activity, everyone had broken their board using their hand or foot. This was such an empowering activity for me. I got to see raw power extracted from everyone in the room, and used in a positive and uplifting way. MACHINE QUICK RETURN MECHANISM 2.1 Objective The objective of this experiment is to investigate the performance of a whitworth quick turn motion and to verify that the motion does have a quick return stroke and a slow cutting or forward stroke. 2.2 Theory Definition of a mechanism Mechanisms are a simplified model, usually in the form of a line diagram, which is used to reproduce exactly the motion occurring in a machine. The purpose if this reproduction is to enable the nature of the motion to be investigated without the encumbrance of the various solid bodies which forms the machine elements. 2.3 Whitworth s quick return mechanism WHITWORTH S MECHANISM The above diagram shows the mechanism as used on the apparatus. Link 1 on the top diagram is extended to point A. attach to point A is another link with pivot. The other end of this link terminated in a slider. In a machine tool where this mechanism is used the cutting tool is attached to this slider. The link POA rotates about an O. Therefore, management realized that if the company was to be successful not only in Japan, but globally it would need to improve its manufacturing process. Consequently, the company developed Toyota s lean manufacturing process, which is still used today. The LMP was used to eliminate waste in the entire production process to become more responsive to market demand and produce high quality products economically. In order to provide superior products, Toyota implemented many revolutionary strategies. For example, the company started, or invented, the Just in Time Manufacturing process. The JIT process, according to our text, is used to reduce inventory costs by scheduling supplies to arrive just in time to enter the production process or as inventory stock is depleted (Hill et al., 2015). Toyota used the just in time system to improve its supply chain management, which drastically decreased costs and increased the company s production facilities output as compared to its competitors. In addition to JIT, the company introduced a concept known as Kanbanthat was included within the new JIT system. Also, by virtue of the soul being a corporation of three distinct forces, this raises philosophical issues regarding the soul s immortality. The soul would not be strong enough to survive the destruction of the body. This can not be true because the soul directly controls the motions of the body; for the soul can will the body in any way it chooses. To further prove this; biologically it is undeniable that the need to drink when thirsty is an impulse that occurs in all of us, it is hard to say the origins of this occur in an appetitive portion of our soul. Rather it is more accurate to suggest that it is a physiological reaction to the condition of dehydration. That is not to say that it is not an impulse we can t control, but it seems more plausible to explain our desire to drink as being that desire to maintain proper bodily function, and so perhaps it is the rational intellect operating out of self preservation that motivates us to act accordingly. Plato fails to realise that the three parts of the soul simultaneously interact with one another and that each part of the tripartite can exist within each other. It is not enough to distinguish the calculative, the passionate, and the desiderative, or with others the rational, or the irrational; for it is absurd to split the last mentioned ability because wish is found in the calculative part and desire and passion in the irrational; and if the soul is tripartite, appetite will be found in all three parts. ... There are two cases to be discussed, Smith v. Maryland and United States v. Miller, two of the most important Fourth Amendment decisions of the 20th century. In these two cases, the Court held that people are not entitled to an expectation of privacy in information they voluntarily provide to third parties (Thompson, para. 1). This proposition, know as the third party doctrine, permits the government access to a vast amount of information about individuals, such as the websites they visit, who they have emailed, the phone numbers they call, and their utility, banking, and education records. The Absence of Women in Beowulf, The Wife s Lament, and the Battle of Maldon It could be argued that women are indeed present in the minority in surviving Anglo Saxon poetry, and that therefore, they are made conspicuous through their absence. The fact they may appear less frequently in Old English Literature does not necessarily mean that women were any less significant in society at this time, although this is the conclusion reached by some. It is assumed that women did, in general, have less important and prominent social roles than men at the time, and the power that they did possess tended to be dictated to them by males. This is true of Beowulf, as although the story of Hildeburh is told, it is not from her point of view. At the centre is the moving depiction of Hildeburh lamenting her loss as the funeral pyre consumes her brother and her son. Another funeral pyre, that for Beowulf himself, affords the poet an opportunity to touch upon in more universal terms but nevertheless powerfully, the theme of the war related sufferings of women; an anonymous woman who: sang a sorrowful song about Beowulf, said again and again that she sorely feared for herself invasions of armies, many slaughters, terror of troops, humiliation, and captivity . The theme of the ritual mourner was a predominant one in Anglo Saxon times. This could be seen as a show of power, the woman taking the lead in a situation that would allow her to do so, an environment in which emotion takes priority over strength and courage. The men present at the funeral do try to govern the funeral setting and take control of the situation through their creation of an immense funeral fire. However, it is much easier for the woman to take over when the situation becomes unfavourable to masculine characteristics. For me the turning climactic point is when while talking with Ben, Willy believes he can regain what he lost years ago with Biff by ending his life. Cobb s totem was a wedding ring that he would be wearing while dreaming and not when not dreaming.
