1. a) From the 3 point bending test, the value of As Rolled Aluminium s Elastic Modulus was
48.3GPa whereas the accepted literature value for polycrystalline aluminium is 69GPa.
b) Possible reasons for the difference between our value and the literature value could be the fact
that the machine we used would have absorbed some of the load, the dials and other measuring
tools were difficult to get a very accurate reading from and how the experiment was set up on our
behalf.
c) Single crystal specimens of a material will have a lower elastic modulus than a polycrystalline
material of the same material. This is due to the fast that there are no grain boundaries to resist the
motion of dislocations. This is also aided by the fact that as the ... Show more content on

Those lines lengths were then measured as well as the length of the scale line and the length it
actually represented. This was all used in the formula: d) The problems with using this method to
measure grain size was that grains may join multiple times, such as triple points, and that grains
have irregular size and shape. The aspect ratio of grains was also not taken into account and the
etching or polishing may not have been done perfectly.
e) To overcome these problems, more measurements could be taken of varying size circles and
lines from different point throughout the material. The aspect ratio and distribution of different
size grains could also be recorded to help improve accuracy of a material with a preferred grain
orientation.

c) Metal A will benefit from grain refinement much more than Metal B as it has a higher k value
which will lead to a far greater yield stress when the grains are changed in size compared to the
change in yield stress for Metal B when it s grains are changed the same amount.

The Current Diagnostic And Statistical Manual Of Mental...
The current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), now in its 5th edition,
defines attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as persistent cycles of inattention and/or
hyperactivity impulsivity that inhibit an individual s ability to function or interferes with their
development (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Inattention is said to manifest though
behaviours such as wandering off and difficulty in maintaining focus. Hyperactivity on the other
hand, manifests in an extreme relentlessness at a given activity, or persisting with an activity to the
extent that it wears out others. To be diagnosed with ADHD according to the DSM 5, six or more
symptoms must be met in regarding inattention and or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Firstly, the position in favour of the change will be considered, and in particular the similarity
between fully diagnosed ADHD subjects and late onset ADHD subjects. The position against
the change will look at the issue from a biological standpoint arguing that raising the age of onset
to 12 years may not necessarily capture ADHD in individuals; but rather, biological changes as a
result of puberty. According to the DSM 5, an age earlier than 12 was not selected to be part of
the requirement for the diagnosis due to the difficulty for adults to establish precise childhood
onset retrospectively (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Changes to the age of onset to
before 12 years old is justified, in part, by the similarity between fully diagnosed ADHD subjects
and late onset ADHD subjects. A study by Applegate et al. (1997) compared a sample of youth
who met the criteria for ADHD and displayed impairment before the age of 7, with youth who met
the criteria but did not display impairment. They found that the age of onset varied depending on
the ADHD subtype. 18% of combined subtype and 43% of the predominantly inattentive subtype
had no manifestation until after they were 7 years old. This brings into question the validity of the
DSM 4 s definition of the age of onset. Another study by Faraone et al. (2006) observed that
subjects with late onset ADHD resembled individuals with the full diagnosis in terms of
comorbidity,

Compare And Contrast Reason And Faith
In my essay I intend to explore the two very different theories on wether the Sun or the Earth is
in the middle of the universe, referring to the models, represented at the Earth and Sun exhibition.
I will be exploring the topic from different points of you, that are stated in my question, which is
reason and faith. Referring to reason, we can be implying different meanings, but mainly reason
is our way of trying to make sense of the world, which gives us explanations and justifications. All
humans and scientists seek to find answers by using a common way of knowing, such as reason.
We use it for different matters, which is why we know some reasons of the origins, of where Earth
and where Sunis. At first, faith might seem irrelevant in my question, however faith doesn t always
have to be related to religion.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that faith is why we search for answers, hoping that there is a reason for everything,
which has to do with such way of knowing as emotions. This are the things I ll discuss, in order to
find a better understanding by the end of my essay of what makes us believe in what we do, what
moves us towards those attempts to understand, does faith has something to do with it and how
does the knowledge of Earth and Sun helps us understand the origins of life through reason and
faith.
Geocentrism a theory that stands for the belief of the Earth being in the center of the Universe, at
that time proven with enough evidence to believe. The models of our non existing reality

planets and stars were moving around the Earth. The theory, which appeared in Ancient Greece, and

The Night Watches Of The Buddha
Question 2 Analyze the night Watches of the Buddha, and explain how the content was
developed in the Mahayana Sutras. Mahayana Buddhism is originated in the first century C.E.
and focuses on new concern for liberation through the assistance of a bodhisattva (Voorst ). Also,
Mahayana Buddhism requires a body of scripture, and so began the Mahayana Canon (Voorst ).
Mahayana Sutras is one of section of the Mahayana Canon, which focuses on the denial of the
reality of existence and nonexistence in philosophical discussion (VOORST ). In the content of
night Watches, it was developed in Mahayana Sutras and Night of Watches explains how
Siddhartha Buddha reached Nirvana. This research examines the Watches of the nights and
analyzes how it is developed in the Mahayana Sutras. While the first watch of the night,
Siddhartha Gautama s mind was supreme calm , clear and purified when the light was raised in
him as well as knowledge and insight raised. He saw continuous series of all his former births
and even he saw more than hundred and thousands of his previous life (VOORST ). Therefore,
he stated that there too I had such a name, belonged to such a clan, had such an appearance. Such
was my food, such my experience of pleasure pain, and such the end of my life. Passing away
from that state, I re arose here (Bhikkhu ). Thus he realized that he remembered his manifold past

Where Worlds Collide By Robert Lake Summary
James G. Peoples, an author said, Culture affects our views of reality. It provides the mental
concepts by which people perceive, interpret, analyze, and explain events in the world around them
(notable quotes.com). The extent of a person s culture informs the way they view themselves,
others, and the world through whom they re surrounded by, opinions they form, and the way one
adapts to new surroundings.
Those you have surrounded yourself with and those you have grown up with influence the way
you view not only the world, but yourself. In Robert Lake s essay, An Indian Father s Plea , Lake
is writing a letter to his son s teacher about how his son is not a slow learner, but was taught with
different cultural views. (Lake 75) His son, Wind Wolf, was born and raised on a reservation
surrounded with people of his heritage who also hold different views and knowledges from his
western peers. (Lake 75) Wind Wolf comes home from school and wants to change his looks or
his ways because of his kindergarten peers and what they say about him. (Lake 78) Whether Wind

Strengths and Weaknesses of the Biological Model and...
Developmental theories embody perspectives about environmental forces and human essence that
build a path of human development. Developmental psychopathology theories embody these
perspectives as well, and the information from normal and pathological human life courses
enlighten current models of development (Davies Bhugra, 2004). Thus, for instance, the healthy
child and the biological model both agree that certain predetermined behavioural pattern may be
impervious to environmental forces. Similarly, knowledge about relapse to previous patterns of
behaviour necessitates the re evaluation of the idea that every process of development is a change
and; that every previous pattern of behaviour is transformed into entirely new one... Show more

The biological model distinguishes several of the studies in the genetics of psychological disorder
(Joseph, 2006). At this point, environmental factors, or the interface between them and the genes,
serve hardly any function in the possible result. For instance, Kallman s (1946 as cited in Joseph,
2006, 237) study on the genetic aspect of schizophrenia reinforces the application of the biological
model, just like the presence or absence of specific substances on depression (ibid, p. 237). In all
of these instances, the presence of specific attributes is presumed likely to influence a specific form
of pathology.
Even though the biological model is remarkable in its straightforwardness, it still has several
limitations; for instance, not every individual who has a genetic indicator at a specific point in time
is expected to display consequent psychopathology or a similar form of psychopathology (Miller
Mason, 2002). For example the case that every child of schizophrenic parents does not develop
schizophrenia, or that not every monozygotic twin exhibits similarity in relation to schizophrenia
indicates that other factors have to be taken into account. It is vital to emphasise that the failure to
come across a significant prevalence of schizophrenic children of schizophrenic parents suggest that
factors such as immunity, coping approaches, and invulnerability to stress, are protective factors

School Funding For High School
Leaving middle school can be very exciting for most of the young adults as they turn over their
life into high school. High school can be a very long path, with great memories, and great
experiences. But not everyone goes through the same thing everyone expects too. A big issue that is
according to now in new generations of young teens in high schoolis teens dropping out of school.
Many teens take the decisions of not continuing in going on with high school because they are
around bad influences that cause them not to go to school. In addition having no support from
parents or family members. The school funding can also be a problem, they may not have enough
funds for programs to keep students busy after school. When teens start meeting new friends in a
new high school, they meet different type of people. Young teens have different plans about their
future and education. Not everyone thinks the same; even though they are in the same age. When
teens start hanging out with other teens that have been getting into trouble beginning in their
middle school days. They influence the other teens into bad influences. That s when they create a
little group of bad influence students that beginning ditching school, that then results in drop outs.
Teens that are already bad influences use drugs and alcohol. They begin in getting addicted to drugs
in which they can t concentrate in school anymore. When education is not important to them they

GATT) where several countries (that imported into the US) called for a review of policies in
place by the US protectionist trade policies on tuna production and the free trade agreements
under GATT. Furthermore, I will discuss what the results of the case was, what implication it has
on the global economy and what role the GATT/WTO has had in this policy. I will briefly
compare it to the policies that the EU have in place to prevent mad cow disease tainted meat from
coming into the EU. This is a take on different policies, about the process to produce a product, why

Countries Oppose US Regulations On Process Case #1 In 1990, Tuna from several countries,
(which included Mexico, Venezuela, Panama, Ecuador, etc.) was banned from the US (in the
form of imports). In other words, the US set an embargo for light skin tuna sales from these
countries. Mexico and Venezuela challenged the US action and took it to the GATT. The decision
was in their favor and in 1991 and 1992 both the countries cases were resolved through an outside
settlement. The decision was not binding until after the Uruguay Round and adopted by the
countries then. Countries Oppose US Regulations On Labeling Case #2 Later there was a second
case that arose of third world countries (including Mexico) importing Tuna and Tuna products from
other countries that did not meet the MMPA agreement. This was also dismissed by the GATT,
under the same assumptions that other countries could not dictate how other countries use their
natural resources and prevented free flow of trade. This second case was led by Mexico, and a
complaint about discriminatory labels on tuna product packaging that led consumers to believe the

Argumentative Collaboration Analysis
Dr. Allison Brennan touched on various topics about dynamics of social interaction during the
process of cognitive collaboration. The main focus was towards social interaction between people
rather than focusing on what factors influence social development in an individual. Her research on
cognitive collaboration was conducted with the same experimental task called, Enumeration Visual.
This is where participants collaborate with a friend and sometimes a non friend to answer given
questions. To differentiate interactive and independent effects, Dr. Brennan questioned if two
people are superior in performance because of independent statistical beliefs or because of
collaborative interaction. Through her Enumeration Visual experiment, she found that two people
were indeed faster because of the collaborative social interaction that is present between them. She
showcased graphs that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In a second phase the variable television violence was introduced, from which it is shown to groups
of television broadcasts fragments containing violent episodes in order to differentiate the cognitive
and emotional impact and how they are made later. Fragments that lasted between 5 and 6 minutes
each, with the scenes as they were issued on televisionwere used. For each group two blocks with
two pieces each were prepared. Fiction vs Real images and physical violencevs Social. The
objective is to analyze the relationship of the television image with the viewer, and especially how
they identify, are constructed, evaluated and presented images of violence on television are
experienced. These processes of constructing meaning of violence seen on television only be
analyzed through analysis methodologies and interpretive or qualitative. It has been tried all

Each of the participants independently viewed and rated each clip on level of action, violence,
and engaging nature using a 5 point rating scale from 1 ( not at all ) to 5 ( extremely ). For the
main study, п¬Ѓve violent and nonviolent clips were selected to maximize differences in ratings of
violence, while equating the clips on level of action and engagement. Paired samples t tests

Key Policies Recommendations For ABC Investment Plc
3.0 Key Policies Recommendations for ABC Investment Plc. to be successful
Vital policies are recommended in this report and should be considered and implemented by ABC
Investment Plc for the broadcasting business to be successful within the EU Region in the next ten
years such as: Due Diligence; Acquisition Strategy; Strategic Management Objectives (SMO);
Ethical Polices; Corporate Governance Practices; Corporate Social Responsibilities; Performance
Measurement and Management (PMM).
3.1 Due Diligence
The first recommendation is for ABC Investment Plc. to carryout due diligence in all its
investments and expansion in the EU region. Due diligence is the careful analysis of the target

overall objectives. e.g. the designing and implementation of a new pricing policy to attract new
customers different their major competitors. The operational objectives will be targets based which
are the short term steps that need to be put in place to ensure that other objectives become, and

times the most famous in 1995 after a well publicized pursuit, where he was arrested in North

This article notes that these attacks have companies more concerned now because these
cybercriminals are now targeting companies more than the customers. As Mitnick talked about how
hackers will go after company information, more than the users in Chapter 3, this article discusses
the dangers companies are having with this Ransomware. The article then talks about the lack of
awareness from the companies about this attack method. Also how the attackers are always trying
to stay in advance of the companies defenses by creating new attack methods. Another problem
this article covers is that many companies are actually paying the ransoms because they do not
have good back up systems. In a result of all the companies who end up paying the ransoms, this
makes the Ransomware attack more eye catching to the hackers. The FBI has been trying to
inform these companies about the problem but over the past few months it still has not
improved. Many companies end up paying the hackers the ransom just so they can have their
files, and be able to run their business. The companies that are the most vulnerable are the ones
where they don t have the proper protocol in position, and that do not have the proper backup
procedures. Another reason for the increase in Ransomware attacks is because of how easy it is for
a hacker to use and get a lot of

The Importance Of Student Apathy In School
Student apathy creates a detrimental toll on a student s mindset. An apathetic student fails to have
production in the classroom. These students would rather fail instead of trying to keep up with
their schoolwork. Failing is easier than running the rick of being seen as average or below average.
(De Lay, Swan 106). Student apathy fails to create an engaging culture in a school district. Since
students feel the affects of student apathy, they often perceive themselves as unsuccessful (De Lay,
Swan 112). In a school majorly affected by student apathy, students associate school with the
purpose of passing grades. Educationmust hold a purpose and seen as an importance to students.
Engagement and achievement in the classroom does not matter when they have passing grades
(Christman 3). When students receive their degree, they do not care how hard they worked to get
it. A degree can lead to a job, and that is what matters in the real world. Students have a
professional goal in mind whether it is a job or college. Classes that do not relate to the real world
do not matter to a majority of these students. Engagement exhibits itself in classrooms, which helps
students in everyday life (De Lay, Swan). Apathy presents itself in more than high schoolstudents.
Senioritis was once the only major apathetic problem in schools. Student apathy has crept its
way into middle and elementary grade levels. As students reach the end of their public school
education, they often slack off in their schoolwork, which is known as senioritis. With little
pressure on the seniors, they take the year off by producing as little amount of work as possible.
Students affected by senioritis are not prepared for college or the real world. Their reading and
writing skills deteriorate when they are not learning in their senior year The students who go to
college after this stay in school for longer than the usual four years (Puente 1). As student apathy
displays across all grade levels, it becomes a major problem. Relationships between students and
teachers as well as the teaching methods used highly affects the lower grade levels. Students bored
in the classroom often check out and fail to stay engaged in their class (De Lay, Swan 111). Little

Healthy Tacos Research Paper
Tacos are a delicious way to enjoy Mexican cuisine. They re quick, filling, and flavor packed. The
lightened recipe turned up the heat, but kept the calorie count low. This project was a good way to
start a fresh/new healthy lifestyle.
The process to make delicious healthy tacos was not very complicated. There were very few
bumps on the way but in the end, the meal was exquisite. First, I had to convince my parents to
take me to a local grocery store (also known as Coborns) to buy some of the ingredients. Some of
the ingredients were low price, but others were a pretty penny. Afterwards, when we got home, I got
to start the cooking right away. Other than burning the tomatoes, the process went pretty marvelous.
My mother had to help me grill the chicken and measure the amounts of ingredients it was needed
to make a meal for three. After the chicken, salsa, and guacamole was ready to serve, my parents
and I sat down at the table and served each plates.
Some elements that were challenging to make was the chicken and the salsa and finding the right
spices (especially for the chicken). One reason the chicken had its complications was because while
it was grilling, I had to check to see if the inside of the chicken was not raw and was fully cooked.

The Dangers of Tanning Essay
Spring is finally here, and Spring Break and the Senior Prom are around corner. The teenagers
and the college kids are planning a drive to the tanning salons or a day at the beach. The media
has instilled in women that tan skin is a sign of youth and sex appeal. Some people go to the
tanning salons and others spend hours outside in the sun to achieve the sun goddess look. Many
don t realize the dangers that come with the sun or a box with light bulbs that has more UVA
radiation than the sun does. From fair to dark skin, people are being destroyed by the same UVA
radiation that gives people that sexy glow . Being in the sun is inevitable, but people can still

For they realize the dangers of tanning beds. Tanning beds generally emit 93% to 99% UVA
radiation, which gives off thirteen times more radiation than the sun. It s easy for some people,
who have read the facts, to stop tanning in tanning beds, but others have fallen prey to it and
they won t stop because it s too enjoyable. Research has found that tanning beds seems affects
more than just the skin. During tanning sessions, exposure UV light seems to elevate people s
mood and may be addictive. Those who are addictive are called tanorexia. (Linke) According to
the American Academy of Dermatology Association, skin that has been exposed to UV light
generates and releases beta endorphin, which is an opium like chemical. Beta endorphin is best
known for supplying the sense of well being, or a runner s high that accompanies energetic
exercise. (Ruscitto) Tanning beds can put people s mood in high spirits. A person, who tans
frequently, who tries to stop tanning is hard for them, because when they do, they have symptoms
of withdrawal including nausea and jitters. An infrequent tanner experiences no withdrawal
symptoms. People who are addictive can t stop, and are speeding straight towards danger. Twenty
minutes in a tanning bed is like spending a whole day at the beach with no sun block. UVA rays
penetrate deep into the skin tissue, changing the DNA structure. Scientists discovered that tanning
beds are as dangerous as arsenic and mustard gas. (Siddons) People tan

credibility of the speaker. Whether it is work, life experience, education, trusted sources, reputation,
etc. Pathos is the emotion and visualization of feelings of the subject. Whether it is a kid, a baby,
happy, laughing, or upset mood, poverty, death, etc. Logos is the logical facts and information by a
trusted brand or speaker. The Art of Rhetoriccan be found in speeches, lectures documentaries, news
stories, and blogs. One great example in which the the Art of Rhetoric is established in is the

Whether it is a kid, a baby, a person being happy, laughing, or in an upset mood, poverty, death,
etc. One example of pathos in this documentary is based from one of the kids, Anthony. Anthony
s Dad passed away due to drugs. Ever since, he has had difficulties at school and was even held
back for one year. He is very focused on getting a good education and getting out of his current
situation in life. The obstacles he face makes the audience feel sorry for him. Another example
of pathos that took place in this film is from Daisy, a girl that loves school. Daisy wants to be a
surgeon or a veterinarian. Her Dad is unemployed, but her Mom is working very hard. Both of
her parents didn t finish school. This makes the audience have mixed emotions because Daisy
wants to be successful with school, but her parents weren t very successful, which makes it hard
for her to be successful. The final example of pathos being showed in this film is yet another kid,
Francisco. Francisco likes math. His Mom is worried and curious about how he is doing in school,
but his teacher will not report back to his Mom about how he is doing. His school entrance has a
desk and a security guard. This makes the audience feel sad for Francisco because his school is not
allowing his Mom to be involved in his school work, and his Mom does not know if he is making

Roman Gladiator Beliefs
In ancient Rome, violence, democracy and religion were commonly used in gladiatorial combat.
Gladiators, who were often criminals and slaves, were thrown into arenas and compelled to battle
with an animal or another gladiator. After the fights, spectators would use hand signals and certain
calls to display their opinion of the gladiators fate, either life or death. The final decision was left
up to a single judge, who was often heavily influenced by the crowd s opinion. The Romans
enjoyed these spectacles because they believed their gods did as well. The gods wanted justice, so
they found entertainment and fulfillment in killing criminals and slaves. These three parts of
gladiator fights played a large role in gladiator fights, as criminals and slaves fought to their death
in ancient Romes theaters.

certain procedure was to be completed. An attendant would strike a blow to the forehead of the
dead. While doing so, the attendant was clad in a hat with wings and an ivory romper representing
the messenger god, Hermes. The gladiator would then be escorted to the underworld . During this

religious air to the contests . Since the Romans were so firm and committed to their religion,

CГ©zanne
As for what I learned during this unit, CГ©zanne was a father of cubism when cubism was
unknown! Therefore, as he uses geometric shapes, we can find a same draw style in Matisse s
paint and Picasso too. Of course, Picasso had influenced from that style, but he used to exaggerate
more these geometric shapes!
In fact, between paints of Joy of Life and The Large Bathers, for example we find similarities as
both of them used a landscape in their paints, then in both works trees are planted at the sides and
in the far distance, and their upper boughs are spread apart like curtains, highlighting the figures
lounging beneath. In addition, like CГ©zanne, Matisse unifies the figures and the landscape.
CГ©zanne does this by stiffening and tilting his trunk like figures. In Matisse s work, the serpentine
arabesques that define the contours of the women are heavily emphasized, and then reiterated in the
curvilinear lines of the trees .(1)( HenriMatisse.org,nd)
Regarding Picasso s paint, critics says that this paint was done in reaction of Matisse s paint.
We know that, in their life, Matisse and Picasso established a relationship on mutual respect and
rivalry. They were two extremely different people and personalities. Picasso was the first modern

A Comparison Of Popular Music In The 1980s
The music world had many changes in 1975. Tony was not really a fan of popular music. His

Steely Dan; King Crimson. Bob Marley and the Wailers became one of his favorite bands that year.
Though he still enjoyed Fleetwood Mac, Tony lamented the addition of Stevie Nicks, whom he

Edith Grotberg Theory Of Resilience
The American Psychological Association (APA) defines resilience as the ability to adapt well to
adversity, trauma, tragedy, threats, or even significant sources of stress (APA 2011). According to
Edith Grotberg, a developmental psychologist, Resilience is important because it is the human
capacity to face, overcome and be strengthened by or even transformed by the adversities of life
(1995). Resilienceis the ability to remain positive in the face of adversity, which is not the same as
not having distress or denying it (Music, 2011). Developing this capacity relies on protective
factors within individuals as well as in the family and community. Research has emphasized the

Geoffrey Chaucer s Accomplishments
This is a story about an author with an unfinished story that survived the passage of time. I will be
discussing the life, the works, and the impact of Geoffrey Chaucer. Geoffrey has visited many
places through his lifetime and met many people. People he met inspired the subject of his stories.
His final work was not complete, but what was done is considered to be his masterpiece.
Geoffrey Chaucer was born in 1340, London, England. His parents were John and Agnes de
Copton. He served King Edward III, King Richard II, and King Henry IV. Chaucer s first job was as
a page for Elizabeth, the countess of Ulster. Elizabeth was the wife of Prince Lionel, the third son

In the fourteenth century, England had little literary reputation and English was not considered a
literary language. Critic Jeffrey Helterman explains, It would have been surprising in the
fourteenth century for anyone to think of writing in his native tongue, and this was particularly
true for Chaucer s role models. The first impulse for a medieval writer who was writing
something he wanted remembered was to write it in Latin. Chaucer chose to write his major
work in English. (Chaucer, Geoffrey. ) If Chaucer had not believed in the power and beauty of the
English language, fellow Englishman William Shakespeare would not have made brilliant plays
written in blank verse English. The Canterbury Tales had far reaching impact. The monopoly on
artificial, formal writing was challenged. A new style emerged with more personal, intimate
outlook. This realistic writing permeated throughout all modern literature. ( Chaucer ) Chaucer
was one of the first writers to write his work in English, instead of French or Latin. He established
the English language as a viable means for producing literature. As a result of the popularity of his
work, the dialect of London became the accepted standard form of the English language for

Difference Between Covert And Clandestine Operation
Distinguish the difference between covert and clandestine operations. Is one more effective over
the other? Why?
Covert and Clandestine operations play a vital role in protecting the United States of America from
enemies both foreign and domestic. The 1991 Intelligence Authorization Act defined covert action
as an activity or activities of the United States Government to influence the political, economic, or
military conditions abroad, where it is intended that the role of the United States will not be
apparent or acknowledged publicly (US Senate). Covert operations is based upon four main goals

First clandestine operations place an emphasis on using concealment operation rather than on
concealment of identity of the sponsor. (JP 3 05.1) While during Covert operations the sponsor
tries it s hardest to remain anonymous and never to be known. Another difference is the
approval process. For a Clandestine mission to be approved, it must follow the procedures in
place, and to ensure it has the approval process of certain senior ranking officials. However, if it s
under covert authority, then it must follow this covert action process. This is a much longer
process, to include it ll help support the foreign policies of the United States, be approved by the
president, and to make sure essential personnel are always up to date during the entire process from
drafting the mission to carrying it out. Furthermore covert actions are legally distinct from
clandestine missions. Clandestine refers to the tactical secrecy of the operation itself, while covert
refers to the secrecy of its sponsor. (Kibbe,2009) Execution of these operations is undertaken with
the knowledge that the action and/or sponsorship of the operation may preclude plausible denial of

I Am Interested In Becoming A Neonatal Nurse. Neonatal
I am interested in becoming a neonatal nurse. Neonatal nursing is a different kind of nursing that is

infants continue to have problems for a couple months, some neonatal nurses care for the infant
until they are two years old, others just take care of them until they are discharged, some of the

harmful things that these nurses come in contact with everyday is the critical thinking in the
decisions that they are having to make of what to do for the baby, another struggle they may
come across would be not getting enough sleep, then having to go to work the next day, to do
their absolute best. They also need to make sure that they are washing their hands and wearing
the correct equipment to keep as much bacteria and other germs away from the ill infants. The
salary of a neonatal nurse varies on the location. The top three places that I would want to

Chomsky And The War On Terror
We live in a day and age of hypocrisy and it seems that a majority don t acknowledge that we are
all total hypocrites. Noam Chomsky, a well known American linguist, philosopher, cognitive
scientist, logician, political commentator, social justice activist, and anarcho syndicalist advocate
does an elaborate job in his speech given at Harvard University, to make us question if there really
is a war on terror. Chomsky calls everybody a hypocrite and uses the U.S. Army Manual definition
of terrorismto argue that there can t be a war on terrorism because the U.S. is also a terrorist group
itself. We can t fight something if we ourselves do that same thing. Chomsky backs up his claim
with many pieces of evidence and facts about the U.S. involvement with terrorist actions. His
argument is well put because it does a good job in making us understand what is really happening
with the U.S. and the war on terror.
People are probably thinking Chomsky must be crazy, to call America a terrorist group.
Americans view America as a nation that fights terror and fail to look at all the reports and
articles about the U.S. actually doing acts that are defined to be terrorist acts. If you love
America, then you must know about the great document called The Declaration of Independence.

These days, a college degree serves as one of the few tickets into a socially and economically
comfortable lifestyle. College itself, ideally, should vastly increase the knowledge, skills, and
capacity for critical thinking in its students. However, in this racially imbalanced society, college is
the culmination of a white weighted education, and often ignores its own participation in long

white standards of behavior, without regard for the unique circumstances that render that
expectation difficult, if not impossible, to meet.

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Lo Essay
Louis XIV and Peter the Great
Both Louis XIV and Peter the Great were famous rulers of the late 17th early 18th Centuries. Both
took the throne at a young age and both had many strengths and weaknesses. Louis XIV had many
strengths during his reign as ruler of France. Appointing Jean Baptiste Colbert as his minister of
finance made some of his greatest strengths and accomplishments. One strength was that of
mercantilism, which is an economic theory under which a country increases its wealth by exporting
more goods than it imports. By accomplishing this, Louis XIV made himself and France very
wealthy. More wealth was made when a balance of trade brought more gold and silver into France.

nearby annexes.
In addition to his strengths, Louis XIV had weaknesses. After Colbert died, Louis made one
mistake that undid all of his work. He revoked Edict of Nantes who protected the religious
freedom of the Huguenots. Instead of being imprisoned, more than 200,000 Huguenots fled from
France. The country lost many of its skilled workers and business leaders. Louis XIV also fought
many costly wars that caused his people great suffering. Many of the wars left France on the brink
of bankruptcy.
Peter the Great had many strengths, but his best was he modernized Russia. By seeing Europe,
he changed many things. He changed the calendar so the New Year would be January 1. He
increased agriculture by growing new crops and increased the number of factories in Russia. He
also started the first Russian newspaper and enlarged their army to 200,000 men. He also got a

A big weakness for Peter the Great was he ignored and abused the people of his country. Many of

Pessimism in the changes of American Workforce: Reason? Considering how long the humanity
has been in existence, Finding Jobs is a extremely difficult concept. There are many arguments
about how to find and keep a job in today s world and ways to make it more practical. In The
Untouchables , author Thomas L.Friedman discusses how the American fungible and non fungible
jobs are affected by the Globalization. In Hudson Institute s article Work and Workers in the Twenty
First Century , their analysts show their opinions about the current trend of jobs in the near future
and envision it in the next twenty plus years. In both articles the authors discuss the topics of...

Second, both author discuss what is the effect in the changes of job because of outsoucing.
According to Friedman, some jobs are lost to the outsource (some to China, some to India), he
said Not only does my work have to fit into somebody s global supply chain, but i myself have to
understand how I need to compete and have skills sets required to work at pace that fits the
supply chain and I had better be able to do that as well or better than anyone else in this world .
Hudson Analysts show that 20% of U.S manufacturing workers now have jobs that depend on
exports. So the workers will not only compete with their counterparts across town or in other parts
of the U.S, but also with workers around the globe. Then Employment growth, meanwhile, will
remain concentrated in services, which also will benefit increasingly from export markets and will
offer high salaries for skilled workers. And For those who maintain and improve their skills, the
changes should bring increasing rewards, but it will be traumatic for those who fall behind the
skills curve and resist retraining. Last, the changing is affected by some other aspect such as Ages,
Ethnic Diversification and Digitizing. Thomas L. Friedman said that most jobs in U.S now is
outsourced by automated and digitized. And Hudson show that the growth of Asian and Hispanic

HIIT Training Topic Paper
Aynslie Skye Glendenning
High intensity interval training has been gaining more recognition as a way to boost weight loss
and improve muscular, among other benefits. But what exactly is it? What is the science behind
why it s so effective? And what are the risks associated? (Kravitz, Ph.D., L. (2014). ACSM
Information on High Intensity Interval Training.)
According to the American College of Sports Medicine, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is
an exercise done with periods of high intensity, these periods are done repeatedly, with small
recovery breaks. These types of workouts can be done in as little as 20 minutes, up to an hour. The
high intensity intervals can be done for 5 seconds, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this time period, the body uses more energy than normal because it is trying to restore
everything back to the level it was, before exercise. Because EPOC is more significant after HIIT
workouts, it allows the body to burn more calories. (Kravitz, Ph.D., L. (2014). ACSM Information
on High Intensity Interval Training.)
Recently, a study done by Hakan Westerblad explored why HIIT training is effective in terms of
building muscular endurance. He and his team analyzed muscle samples from participants engaging
in High Intensity Interval Training. The participants ...alternated between pedaling a stationary bike
for 30 seconds at top intensity and resting for three minutes six times. (Park, A. (2015, November
03). Interval Training: Scientists Explain Why It Works.) After analyzing the muscle biopsies,
Hakan and his team concluded that because of the HITT exercise, changes in the muscle occurred
at a cellular level. He says, When stressed by the extreme exercise, certain chemical channels in the
muscle cells that regulate calcium changes in the cells broke down. What we found was a
breakdown of these channels that was totally unexpected. (Park, A. 2015, November 03. Interval

Psalm 23 Exegesis Analysis
Psalm 23 Exegesis
Psalm 23 is a realistic hopeful passage written by David about the presence of trials in his life
versus the provision and relationship the Lord has for him. This Psalm is filled with metaphors and
creative imagery that is best understood through contextual knowledge. Much of David s writing in
this passage is about his struggles and trials, while the rest is essentially about the faithfulness of
God. Psalm 23:1 says The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. . According to Schmoop.com,
the word want means lack , meaning that David is saying he will not lack anything because the
Lord is His shepherd ( The Lord is My Shepherd ). David says in Psalm 23:2 that the Lord makes
him lie down in green pastures . However, in Israel there are no green pastures, in the more
commonly associated definition. There are no pastures that are actually green in Israel
therefore it is only an allusion to the metaphor of the Lord being David s shepherd. A shepherd
will lead his flock of sheep to grassy pastures to eat. This reaffirms David s statement that he will
not lack. Him referring to God as his shepherd and saying that he will make him to lay down in
green pastures means that the Lord will have him lie down (rest) in places of provision
/sustenance similar to a shepherd leading his sheep to sleep in a rich pasture (Know, That the
World May, Green Pastures. ). David also says that God will lead him by still waters : another
metaphor of rest. In Psalm 23:3,

Gender Roles in Alice Munro s Boys and Girls
In Alice Munro s short story Boys and Girls, our narrator is a young farm girl on the verge of
puberty who is learning what it means to be a girl. The story shows the differing gender roles of
boys and girls specifically that women are the weaker, more emotional sex by showing how the
adults of the story expect the children to grow into their respective roles as a girl and a boy, and
how the children grow up and ultimately begin to fulfill these roles, making the transition from
being children to being young adults.
The adults in the story expect the children to grow into the gender role that their sex has assigned to
them. This is seen in several places throughout the story, such as when the narrator hears her mother

Neither child has an interest in the work of their parent of the same gender; Laird runs off to play
instead of helping with the foxes, and the narrator escapes from the kitchen the first chance she
gets (Munro 495). Later in the story, however, Laird begins to take an interest in the men s work
of hunting and killing the horse, and the narrator, while not yet embracing the work of her
mother, is disengaging herself from her father s work and turning toward the more feminine
work of decorating her room. Neither of them sing songs anymore, even though the narrator
continued to enjoy it, Laird said it sounded silly, so she stopped (Munro 501); this is an example
of both Laird becoming more masculine, because he no longer wants to take part in frivolous
things such as singing Jingle Bells at night, and the narrator becoming more feminine, because she
so easily bows to her brother s opinion. Laird has started to accept the role of leader instead of just
being young and obedient, (Munro 499) and the narrator is taking other people s opinions into
consideration when deciding her actions, instead of just doing whatever she wants to do.
From the beginning to the end of the story, the narrator undergoes a transformation from a child of
the farm to a young woman. From my perspective, she does not start out as particularly masculine;
she is more of a blank slate that is trying to rebel against what she views as

A Very Brief Look at Brazil
INTRODUCTION
When I first started to think on a subject to write about on this essay, I wanted to choose something
about my own culture. When I think about my home country, Brazil, the first thing that comes to
my mind as an expression of our culture, and probably the first thing that comes to everybody s
minds, is the Carnival and, of course, the Samba. Samba is the best known most enduring style in
Brazil. It is the samba rhythm that provides the background music for the most spectacular Rio
carnival and the sophisticated dance that helped to bring Brazil the exotic image that is well known
throughout the world. If you want to learn about Brazilian history without going through the books,
you just listen to its music. Samba has an importance that goes far beyond than entertainment.
Music is a national passion, as the football, of course. Both are a misture inside all Brazilians, so
on this essay I am going to discuss this amazing and enormous party and the different ways it affects
the Brazilian culture and its population, dividing it into Historical/Cultural, Political and
Psychological analysis.
Historical, Cultural Social
The word carnival comes from Latin, Carne Vale or Farewell to the Flesh (brazilproductions). Ten
thousand years b.c., men, women and children gathered in the summer with masked and painted
faces to scare away the demons of bad harvest bodies. The origins of Carnival have been sought in
the oldest celebrations of humanity, such as the Egyptian

Isis Nursing Horus After learning so much about ancient Greece and many other ancient cultures
from different parts of the world in class. In this essay I will analyze the artwork by giving a full
360 degree description of the work and every detail. I will also relate it to work we have studied in
class. The work I will analyze is found at the Walters Art Museum, in Baltimore, Maryland. The
title of the work is Isis Nursing Horus, an Egyptian artwork dated between 680 640 BCE. This is a
three dimensional volume statuette bronze seated statue of Isis nursing Horus. The statuette
currently sits at Walters Museum, Baltimore, Maryland. The measurement of this artwork is 215/8x

The artwork is simplified, not too many extreme details included compared to some of the work
with complex details of the Vikings in early medieval times. The artist makes the sculpture simple.
The artwork is very rounded, no jagged or edgy parts of the sculpture, almost a smooth transition
all around and smooth. Proportions of the sculpture seems about right, with regard to length of Isis
and Horus. The sculptor gives Isis full feminine shapes, giving her curves at the right place and
proper recognizable feminine organs.
The artwork is unrealistic for two major reasons, its highly simplified and non representational
for of art. The reason the artwork is highly simplified is that, there are not a lot of details on the
sculpture of Isis nursing Horus, her hands are simple for texture of any sorts. The reason it is
non representational for of art is because, the clothing she is wearing, is plain, secondly Horus
looks too stiff to be considered a representation of a toddler, who are often chubby with soft skin.
For the reminder of the essay I will analyze and discuss the iconography in the sculpture and how
some of the work in this object relates to several works studied in

Lady Capulet And The Nurse
Similarities and differences in literature help us to obtain a more developed understanding of
characters and their surroundings. Within Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet , there are an
abundance of contrasting personalities. One of the most recognizable out of these is that of the
relationship between Lady Capulet and the Nurse. Shakespeare has placed these contradictory
identities so that the reader may be able to see the passionate love of Juliet by Romeo. Within
the play, there are several examples of the contrast between characters. A famous illustration of
this found is in Act I Scene III: It is an honor I dream not of (Juliet) An honor! Were not I thine
only nurse, I would say thou hadst sucked wisdom from thy teat. (Nurse) Well, think of marriage
now. Here in Verona, ladies of esteem are made already mothers. (Lady Capulet). In this exchange,

Nay, bigger; women grow by men. (Nurse). Lady Capulet empowers her daughter to marry early
so that she will not have to compete with younger and healthier women. Further pushing her
argument of the loss of Juliet s social life, the Nurse tells Lady Capulet and her daughter that
once she settled down she would lose her youth. Lady Capulet and the Nurse aid readers in
understanding Juliet s childhood because both of the women raised her. Shakespeare accentuates
the caring and humorous ideas of the Nurse and contrasts them with Lady Capulet s deliberate
and serious views on marriage. Lady Capulet s ideals can be expected because of her own
arranged marriage with Lord Capulet. She may want someone to be sympathetic to her past, or
simply just want company. In either case, the Nurse s low key jokes hint that she feel the
opposite; a man would only drag Juliet down in her years of

Descriptive Essay About Pablo Picasso
Shocking my oversized three dollar boots with the recently damp medieval floor, I could hear the

climbing the stairs to the Museo de SofГa.We were at a heritage travelling experience in the city
my grandmother lived years ago, and she wanted to show me how different life would be. She
wanted to show me how the antique architecture was filled with modern decorations; she wished
for me to experience Pablo Picassos homeland. Yet, on that rainy day, in my first visit to a
Picasso exposition, I couldn t see the well honored geniality people talked about. I recognized
some colours tendency as an expression of his life period, the shattered spaces filled with matte
cubicles that decipher his creative expression, yet I couldn t feel the passion all the other tourists
felt. I couldn t notice the inspiration of the paintings, I couldn t picture the vision he was trying to

The Individual in Judaism and Hinduism
Through the Bhagavad Gita and the Book of Job we see the similar ways that different religions
affirm that the individual can t have the same level of knowledge as the divine. We also,
however, see that while Hinduism offers an explanation for this knowledge disparity, and offers
a path of empowerment that allows the individual to strive for the knowledge level of the divine,
Judaism simply deems that we are insignificant beings when compared to God, and that we can t
ever achieve nearly the same amount of knowledge as God. The Book of Job tells those who
consider the bible to be a holy text, namely Jewish and Christian people, the story of Job. His
story tells us that we, as individual human beings, are lesser beings than God and can t know as
much as God. At the end of the story, after hearing God mention the greatness of his creations,
Job finally breaks and admits that he was wrong to question God, as Job, an individual human
being, has a limited amount of knowledge compared to God. While God is pleased with this
response from the previously dubious Job, he is not happy with Zophar, Eliphaz, and Bildad for
claiming to know why God acted in the manner in which he did while they were consoling Job.
God relents however, and forgives them after Job prays for them. God is so delighted with Job for
withstanding all of the punishments Satan had put forth upon him that he rewarded Job with two
times more of everything he had lost, including his children. This ending to the

This is due to the fast that there are no grain boundaries to resist the motion of dislocations. This is also aided by the fact that as the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Those lines lengths were then measured as well as the length of the scale line and the length it actually represented. This was all used in the formula: d) The problems with using this method to measure grain size was that grains may join multiple times, such as triple points, and that grains have irregular size and shape. The aspect ratio of grains was also not taken into account and the etching or polishing may not have been done perfectly. e) To overcome these problems, more measurements could be taken of varying size circles and lines from different point throughout the material. The aspect ratio and distribution of different size grains could also be recorded to help improve accuracy of a material with a preferred grain orientation. 5.a) The Hall Petch equation is . • 3. The Current Diagnostic And Statistical Manual Of Mental... The current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), now in its 5th edition, defines attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as persistent cycles of inattention and/or hyperactivity impulsivity that inhibit an individual s ability to function or interferes with their development (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Inattention is said to manifest though behaviours such as wandering off and difficulty in maintaining focus. Hyperactivity on the other hand, manifests in an extreme relentlessness at a given activity, or persisting with an activity to the extent that it wears out others. To be diagnosed with ADHD according to the DSM 5, six or more symptoms must be met in regarding inattention and or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Firstly, the position in favour of the change will be considered, and in particular the similarity between fully diagnosed ADHD subjects and late onset ADHD subjects. The position against the change will look at the issue from a biological standpoint arguing that raising the age of onset to 12 years may not necessarily capture ADHD in individuals; but rather, biological changes as a result of puberty. According to the DSM 5, an age earlier than 12 was not selected to be part of the requirement for the diagnosis due to the difficulty for adults to establish precise childhood onset retrospectively (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). Changes to the age of onset to before 12 years old is justified, in part, by the similarity between fully diagnosed ADHD subjects and late onset ADHD subjects. A study by Applegate et al. (1997) compared a sample of youth who met the criteria for ADHD and displayed impairment before the age of 7, with youth who met the criteria but did not display impairment. They found that the age of onset varied depending on the ADHD subtype. 18% of combined subtype and 43% of the predominantly inattentive subtype had no manifestation until after they were 7 years old. This brings into question the validity of the DSM 4 s definition of the age of onset. Another study by Faraone et al. (2006) observed that subjects with late onset ADHD resembled individuals with the full diagnosis in terms of comorbidity, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Compare And Contrast Reason And Faith In my essay I intend to explore the two very different theories on wether the Sun or the Earth is in the middle of the universe, referring to the models, represented at the Earth and Sun exhibition. I will be exploring the topic from different points of you, that are stated in my question, which is reason and faith. Referring to reason, we can be implying different meanings, but mainly reason is our way of trying to make sense of the world, which gives us explanations and justifications. All humans and scientists seek to find answers by using a common way of knowing, such as reason. We use it for different matters, which is why we know some reasons of the origins, of where Earth and where Sunis. At first, faith might seem irrelevant in my question, however faith doesn t always have to be related to religion.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Where Worlds Collide By Robert Lake Summary James G. Peoples, an author said, Culture affects our views of reality. It provides the mental concepts by which people perceive, interpret, analyze, and explain events in the world around them (notable quotes.com). The extent of a person s culture informs the way they view themselves, others, and the world through whom they re surrounded by, opinions they form, and the way one adapts to new surroundings. Those you have surrounded yourself with and those you have grown up with influence the way you view not only the world, but yourself. In Robert Lake s essay, An Indian Father s Plea , Lake is writing a letter to his son s teacher about how his son is not a slow learner, but was taught with different cultural views. (Lake 75) His son, Wind Wolf, was born and raised on a reservation surrounded with people of his heritage who also hold different views and knowledges from his western peers. • 8. Strengths and Weaknesses of the Biological Model and... Developmental theories embody perspectives about environmental forces and human essence that build a path of human development. Developmental psychopathology theories embody these perspectives as well, and the information from normal and pathological human life courses enlighten current models of development (Davies Bhugra, 2004). Thus, for instance, the healthy child and the biological model both agree that certain predetermined behavioural pattern may be impervious to environmental forces. Similarly, knowledge about relapse to previous patterns of behaviour necessitates the re evaluation of the idea that every process of development is a change and; that every previous pattern of behaviour is transformed into entirely new one... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The biological model distinguishes several of the studies in the genetics of psychological disorder (Joseph, 2006). At this point, environmental factors, or the interface between them and the genes, serve hardly any function in the possible result. For instance, Kallman s (1946 as cited in Joseph, 2006, 237) study on the genetic aspect of schizophrenia reinforces the application of the biological model, just like the presence or absence of specific substances on depression (ibid, p. 237). In all of these instances, the presence of specific attributes is presumed likely to influence a specific form of pathology. Even though the biological model is remarkable in its straightforwardness, it still has several limitations; for instance, not every individual who has a genetic indicator at a specific point in time is expected to display consequent psychopathology or a similar form of psychopathology (Miller Mason, 2002). For example the case that every child of schizophrenic parents does not develop schizophrenia, or that not every monozygotic twin exhibits similarity in relation to schizophrenia indicates that other factors have to be taken into account. It is vital to emphasise that the failure to come across a significant prevalence of schizophrenic children of schizophrenic parents suggest that factors such as immunity, coping approaches, and invulnerability to stress, are protective factors ... High school can be a very long path, with great memories, and great experiences. But not everyone goes through the same thing everyone expects too. A big issue that is according to now in new generations of young teens in high schoolis teens dropping out of school. Many teens take the decisions of not continuing in going on with high school because they are around bad influences that cause them not to go to school. Furthermore, I will discuss what the results of the case was, what implication it has on the global economy and what role the GATT/WTO has had in this policy. The main focus was towards social interaction between people rather than focusing on what factors influence social development in an individual. Her research on cognitive collaboration was conducted with the same experimental task called, Enumeration Visual. This is where participants collaborate with a friend and sometimes a non friend to answer given questions. To differentiate interactive and independent effects, Dr. Brennan questioned if two people are superior in performance because of independent statistical beliefs or because of collaborative interaction. He has been arrested multiple times the most famous in 1995 after a well publicized pursuit, where he was arrested in North Carolina for computer hacking and wire fraud. The article then talks about the lack of awareness from the companies about this attack method. Also how the attackers are always trying to stay in advance of the companies defenses by creating new attack methods. Another problem this article covers is that many companies are actually paying the ransoms because they do not have good back up systems. In a result of all the companies who end up paying the ransoms, this makes the Ransomware attack more eye catching to the hackers. The FBI has been trying to inform these companies about the problem but over the past few months it still has not improved. Many companies end up paying the hackers the ransom just so they can have their files, and be able to run their business. The companies that are the most vulnerable are the ones where they don t have the proper protocol in position, and that do not have the proper backup procedures. • 16. The Importance Of Student Apathy In School Student apathy creates a detrimental toll on a student s mindset. An apathetic student fails to have production in the classroom. These students would rather fail instead of trying to keep up with their schoolwork. Failing is easier than running the rick of being seen as average or below average. (De Lay, Swan 106). Student apathy fails to create an engaging culture in a school district. Since students feel the affects of student apathy, they often perceive themselves as unsuccessful (De Lay, Swan 112). In a school majorly affected by student apathy, students associate school with the purpose of passing grades. Educationmust hold a purpose and seen as an importance to students. Engagement and achievement in the classroom does not matter when they have passing grades (Christman 3). When students receive their degree, they do not care how hard they worked to get it. A degree can lead to a job, and that is what matters in the real world. Students have a professional goal in mind whether it is a job or college. Classes that do not relate to the real world do not matter to a majority of these students. Engagement exhibits itself in classrooms, which helps students in everyday life (De Lay, Swan). Apathy presents itself in more than high schoolstudents. Senioritis was once the only major apathetic problem in schools. Student apathy has crept its way into middle and elementary grade levels. As students reach the end of their public school education, they often slack off in their schoolwork, which is known as senioritis. With little pressure on the seniors, they take the year off by producing as little amount of work as possible. Students affected by senioritis are not prepared for college or the real world. Their reading and writing skills deteriorate when they are not learning in their senior year The students who go to college after this stay in school for longer than the usual four years (Puente 1). As student apathy displays across all grade levels, it becomes a major problem. Relationships between students and teachers as well as the teaching methods used highly affects the lower grade levels. Students bored in the classroom often check out and fail to stay engaged in their class (De Lay, Swan 111). Little ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The lightened recipe turned up the heat, but kept the calorie count low. This project was a good way to start a fresh/new healthy lifestyle. The process to make delicious healthy tacos was not very complicated. There were very few bumps on the way but in the end, the meal was exquisite. First, I had to convince my parents to take me to a local grocery store (also known as Coborns) to buy some of the ingredients. Some of the ingredients were low price, but others were a pretty penny. Afterwards, when we got home, I got to start the cooking right away. Other than burning the tomatoes, the process went pretty marvelous. My mother had to help me grill the chicken and measure the amounts of ingredients it was needed to make a meal for three. After the chicken, salsa, and guacamole was ready to serve, my parents and I sat down at the table and served each plates. Some elements that were challenging to make was the chicken and the salsa and finding the right spices (especially for the chicken). In the fourteenth century, England had little literary reputation and English was not considered a literary language. Critic Jeffrey Helterman explains, It would have been surprising in the fourteenth century for anyone to think of writing in his native tongue, and this was particularly true for Chaucer s role models. The first impulse for a medieval writer who was writing something he wanted remembered was to write it in Latin. Chaucer chose to write his major work in English. It works well for drawer sides and glides, structural members, and internal bracing in furniture where more expensive wood is used for the exterior. Oak ($$$): While there are many varieties of oak, the most common in woodworking are red and white, having a relatively straight, tight grain . Red oak is a popular choice among woodworkers for furniture, architectural trim work, and cabinetry. White oak is also used in furniture building, but is somewhat less available, and therefore more expensive. It s one of the most prevalent types of wood that was showcased in the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th century; white oak is still commonly used in boat building and outdoor furniture due to its greater resistance to ... • 42. Psalm 23 Exegesis Analysis Psalm 23 Exegesis Psalm 23 is a realistic hopeful passage written by David about the presence of trials in his life versus the provision and relationship the Lord has for him. This Psalm is filled with metaphors and creative imagery that is best understood through contextual knowledge. Much of David s writing in this passage is about his struggles and trials, while the rest is essentially about the faithfulness of God. Psalm 23:1 says The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. . According to Schmoop.com, the word want means lack , meaning that David is saying he will not lack anything because the Lord is His shepherd ( The Lord is My Shepherd ). David says in Psalm 23:2 that the Lord makes him lie down in green pastures . However, in Israel there are no green pastures, in the more commonly associated definition. There are no pastures that are actually green in Israel therefore it is only an allusion to the metaphor of the Lord being David s shepherd. A shepherd will lead his flock of sheep to grassy pastures to eat. This reaffirms David s statement that he will not lack. Him referring to God as his shepherd and saying that he will make him to lay down in green pastures means that the Lord will have him lie down (rest) in places of provision /sustenance similar to a shepherd leading his sheep to sleep in a rich pasture (Know, That the World May, Green Pastures. ). David also says that God will lead him by still waters : another metaphor of rest. In Psalm 23:3, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The story shows the differing gender roles of boys and girls specifically that women are the weaker, more emotional sex by showing how the adults of the story expect the children to grow into their respective roles as a girl and a boy, and how the children grow up and ultimately begin to fulfill these roles, making the transition from being children to being young adults. Later in the story, however, Laird begins to take an interest in the men s work of hunting and killing the horse, and the narrator, while not yet embracing the work of her mother, is disengaging herself from her father s work and turning toward the more feminine work of decorating her room. Neither of them sing songs anymore, even though the narrator continued to enjoy it, Laird said it sounded silly, so she stopped (Munro 501); this is an example of both Laird becoming more masculine, because he no longer wants to take part in frivolous things such as singing Jingle Bells at night, and the narrator becoming more feminine, because she so easily bows to her brother s opinion. Laird has started to accept the role of leader instead of just being young and obedient, (Munro 499) and the narrator is taking other people s opinions into consideration when deciding her actions, instead of just doing whatever she wants to do. From the beginning to the end of the story, the narrator undergoes a transformation from a child of the farm to a young woman. • 44. A Very Brief Look at Brazil INTRODUCTION When I first started to think on a subject to write about on this essay, I wanted to choose something about my own culture. When I think about my home country, Brazil, the first thing that comes to my mind as an expression of our culture, and probably the first thing that comes to everybody s minds, is the Carnival and, of course, the Samba. Samba is the best known most enduring style in Brazil. It is the samba rhythm that provides the background music for the most spectacular Rio carnival and the sophisticated dance that helped to bring Brazil the exotic image that is well known throughout the world. If you want to learn about Brazilian history without going through the books, you just listen to its music. Samba has an importance that goes far beyond than entertainment. Music is a national passion, as the football, of course. Both are a misture inside all Brazilians, so on this essay I am going to discuss this amazing and enormous party and the different ways it affects the Brazilian culture and its population, dividing it into Historical/Cultural, Political and Psychological analysis. Historical, Cultural Social The word carnival comes from Latin, Carne Vale or Farewell to the Flesh (brazilproductions). Proportions of the sculpture seems about right, with regard to length of Isis and Horus. The sculptor gives Isis full feminine shapes, giving her curves at the right place and proper recognizable feminine organs. The artwork is unrealistic for two major reasons, its highly simplified and non representational for of art. The reason the artwork is highly simplified is that, there are not a lot of details on the sculpture of Isis nursing Horus, her hands are simple for texture of any sorts. The reason it is non representational for of art is because, the clothing she is wearing, is plain, secondly Horus looks too stiff to be considered a representation of a toddler, who are often chubby with soft skin. Shakespeare has placed these contradictory identities so that the reader may be able to see the passionate love of Juliet by Romeo. The Individual in Judaism and Hinduism Through the Bhagavad Gita and the Book of Job we see the similar ways that different religions affirm that the individual can t have the same level of knowledge as the divine. We also, however, see that while Hinduism offers an explanation for this knowledge disparity, and offers a path of empowerment that allows the individual to strive for the knowledge level of the divine, Judaism simply deems that we are insignificant beings when compared to God, and that we can t ever achieve nearly the same amount of knowledge as God. The Book of Job tells those who consider the bible to be a holy text, namely Jewish and Christian people, the story of Job. His story tells us that we, as individual human beings, are lesser beings than God and can t know as much as God. At the end of the story, after hearing God mention the greatness of his creations, Job finally breaks and admits that he was wrong to question God, as Job, an individual human being, has a limited amount of knowledge compared to God. While God is pleased with this response from the previously dubious Job, he is not happy with Zophar, Eliphaz, and Bildad for claiming to know why God acted in the manner in which he did while they were consoling Job.
