The Importance Of School Uniforms
A student gets pushed into a locker, the instigator takes the child s shirt and pulls it. Where did
you get this shirt from, five below? The other people surrounding the child laugh. Now that same
child runs home to his mother crying in tears. The child proceeds to tell him about his day
whimpering word after word. A mother struggling to pay for the house now feels obligated to buy
her child more expensive clothes just because they were picked on. Well if students had a uniform
the instigator would not be able to pick on anything because they are wearing the same clothes.
Roughly twenty nine percent of the United States population are lower class according to the
graph in Marilyn Geewax article, The Tipping Point: Most Americans No Longer Are Middle
Class. Many schools give children the privilege to wear what they want to school, although is this
a bad idea? Children are picked on for there attire, others getting dress coded for explicit clothing,
but the problems are redundant had the schools enforce a rule about uniforms. One may argue that
with a uniform does not give the student the privilege to express oneself. Although that s not true.
Many students who do have dress

Mexico s Role In Organized Crime
Mexico s role in organized crime has been defined by its neighbor s status as the largest consumer in
the world (InSight Crime). Elaine Carey traces the roots of Mexico s organized crime to the
Chinese in Mexico during the late nineteenth century. Chinese groups operated an international
human smuggling network that transported Chinese migrants to the United States via Mexicoas a
response to the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882. Also, during the Mexican Revolution of 1910,
military leaders utilized crime as a means to fund their armies (Carey, 2200). The Prohibition in the
United States (1919 1933) provided organized crime in Mexico an opportunity to make revenue by
supplying alcohol to its northern neighbor. Interestingly, after the Prohibition,... Show more content

This figure can be subject to debate because it may not include those who are in rural regions that
may go uncounted by government agencies. 1.65 million Mexicans migrating means that an
average of 330,000 persons is internally displaced on an annual basis (Cantor, 3). The depth of such
an Exodus is exemplified by Ciudad JuГЎrez in the border state of Chihuahua, where about 230,000
Mexicans fled their homes between 2007 and 2010, approximately half migrated to the United
States (Cantor, 3). A group represented in the exodus in JuГЎrez is what Morales and his
colleagues call the Mexican Business Elites who are Mexican nationals that migrated with U.S.
business investor visas. Numerous businesses like in Cuidad JuГЎrez are extorted for money by
cartels, or their employees, family, or clients are held hostage or killed. As a result, business visa
(E1 E2) applications have increased by six percent from the time the CalderГіn waged its war on
drugs and organized crime (Morales, 87). From 2001 to 2005 (Pre Drug War) only 7,603 visas
were granted, however from 2006 to 2010 the number increased to 31,066 visas (Rios, 19). From

Twelfth Night Duality
In Act 1, Scene 2 of Twelfth Night, as Viola lays down her plans before the captain, she speaks
about a major theme of the play: the way a person seems outwardly versus their true self. Viola
says she is aware people cannot be trusted based on their looks, but trusts the captain. She then
requests his help so she can be dressed as a boy for the remainder of the play. The way she
behaves also hits on another theme, the contrast between people that can act as a balance.
Through comparison, she can be seen as a counterbalance to Sebastian in the way they both
conduct themselves. The majority of the characters have a twin of their own to act as a sort of
foil. Exploring this passage (1.2.96 108) will help see the double themes of duality that... Show

As if extending the idea of the twins, Viola and Sebastian, nearly everyone seems to have their
complementary twin. As mentioned earlier, Viola takes charge and makes her own plans while
Sebastian seems to operate on whims. There is also a difference in their outlooks. Viola is easily
assured that her brother may still be alive, while Sebastian is certain his sister is dead. Olivia and
Orsino also act as the counterbalance to one another. While both are absorbed in their own
melancholy moods, Orsino does it for the love he desires and Olivia does it for loved ones she s
lost. Despite their opposing approaches towards wooing, they both end up with a love of their
own. Another interesting counterbalance is between the captain and Antonio. The captain
saved Viola, but after accepting money to help her, he went his separate way, never expressing
feelings for her. In contrast, Antonio rescued Sebastian, then gave him money and followed
him, all the while expressing love for him. Then there is Sir Toby and Malvolio, perhaps two of
the most evident opposites in the play because of the way Malvolio actively opposes Sir Toby.
Malvolio is somber and serious. He wants people to respect him and kisses up to Olivia. Sir
Toby, however, is more of a clown than Feste, staying up to all hours of the night, drinking and
carelessly waking the house with his singing. Malvolio does what he can to seem above his
station, but Sir Toby does not worry what others think and often seems below his station. Though,
with a character like Malvolio, finding people to be his opposite is no chore; Feste and Maria could
also work to contrast with him, but Malvolio and Sir Toby s hatred of each other do seem most

What Is The Similarities Of The Fourknocks In Co. Meath
This essay aims to compare and contrast the nature of the rituals that would have taken place at
any two of the sites that we encountered on our fieldtrip. The two megalithic sites that will be
compared and contrasted in this essay will be the passage tomb known as Fourknocks in Co.
Meath and the Proleek wedge tomb in Co. Louth. Both of these megalithic tombs characterise the
majority of the Irish landscape and are of great importance to archaeologists as they give us an
insight to the lifestyles and social structures of the societies that would have constructed these
wonderful megalithic sites.
Megalithic sites like Fourknocks and the Proleek wedge tomb are at the centre of controversy
within the archaeological profession. There is little or no doubt that these large stone structures
were erected in order to hold the remains of the dead but archaeologists would also like to believe
that there is more to these large stone structures then just having a funerary orientated purpose
(Brown, 1979). Other purposes that could be related to these monuments include, links to the spirit
world, astronomical, directional or calendrical purposes (Brown, 1979).
Before we discuss the two megalithic sites already mentioned above we must first understand what
a megalithic site is and why they are so important for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fourknocks 1 is a type of passage grave known as a cruciform passage grave with a low kerb of
drystone surrounding it (Hartnett, 1957). What was very unusual about this passage tomb was
that there was no exterior kerb. At the centre of the tomb there is a post hole which may suggest
that there was a pole placed here either to support the roof or it was used as a marker to indicate
where the tomb was to be built (Cooney, 1997). The main burial chamber is very spacious. When

Adorno s Critique Of Popular Music And Capitalism Analysis
Throughout history, music has been seen as a medium in which different people all over the world
can relate. Adorno criticizes, however, that songs that have the most hits on the top music charts or
are most listened to, otherwise known as popular music, are being produced for and consumed by
the masses as a commodity. He identifies popular musicas being a part of a culture used for
capitalism, and that we as listeners, are falling into a trap in which we believe songs have
individuality and that we have the freedom to choose what we listen to. He argues that in reality
these popular songs are all standardized and made to seem different through various elements
that are added. In this paper, I will display how Adorno s critique of popular music being used for
capitalism applies to the song,1 800 273 8255, by hip hop and rap artist Logic, through its
standardized elements in both its content and marketing; however, I will argue that although it
contains these elements, the audience is actively listening and responding to the song as it brings
awareness to mental health and suicide prevention that is changing and saving lives all around
us. In the hit hip hop song, 1 800 273 8255, performed by Logic and featuring Alessia Cara and
Khalid, the audience is taken through the experience of someone who is contemplating suicide.
The song begins within the point of view of a person calling the National Suicide Prevention
Lifeline (NSPL), 1 800 273 8255, which is sang by Logic.

New Forms And Models Of Church
In thinking about the potential for new forms and models of church, we must first articulate what
the goals are for this church as well as for the community. With respect to the church, one of the
main emphases at this time according to judicatory, is to care for the congregation. The second
goal for the church is to develop a new ministry plan that is more extensive than the previous plan.
The third and final goal is to organize work in the community. These goals will guide the
possibilities for new forms and models of church. Another aspect of this church that forms the
discussion of the models and forms of church is the idea that this is a Community church. [1] What
this means is that this is a church that is intentional about being... Show more content on

While as the case mentions, this will evolve as time goes on, this congregation will begin on this
goal by intentional steps for the many different members to get to know each other more deeply
in order to become a community. This could be as simple as sitting with someone new in worship
each week, or sticking around for a few minutes after the service to talk to someone new. This begs
the question, of how will this intentional focus be initiated? It will be initiated by the pastors that
rotate in the pulpit, by the teaching and preaching on the focus of becoming a community and how
this is important for the congregation. For example, a sermon or sermon series could be on Paul s
words in Corinthians about the body[3] and how that understanding can be the fundamental for
understanding what community means in the congregation. In addition, there is also a form within
the model of community that is important. This form is a congregation that has Open hearts, open
minds, open doors. [4] What this form will look like is a church that is inviting and welcoming of
all peoples either already in the congregation or if they are new and come into the congregation.
The bottom line is that while of course, the pastors shall care for the congregation, especially in the

Also, a welding school was started in 1917, and continues to provide
educational services to today. Furthermore, an employees association was formed in 1919 in
order to provide health benefits and social activities to employees. This association is still active
today and has accounted for several functions over the years and will continue to do so.
The Lincoln Electric Company was founded based on Christian principles and James
Lincoln believed that every action be motivated by Christian ethics. Although, James Lincoln
held such strong Christian beliefs, there is no evidence that he tried to preach the Christian
gospel to his employees, customers, or even the public. Even today, in recent interviews, the
current senior executives do not talk about the Christian gospel message. The motto of the
company is, The actual is limited, the possible is immense , which actually has nothing to do
with Christian beliefs. The company motto is very fitting and correlates well with the
organizational culture of the company. The Lincoln Electric Company believes heavily on
incentives and production based compensation, therefore, adding to its belief that the possible is
indeed immense. Adding to this, even advancement in the company is based more on merit and
production than the amount of time that one has been at the company. In an interview conducted
with Ed Sanderson, one of the company s employees, Ed says that,

Kiara s Recommendation
I am writing to recommend Kiara Patton to the Assembly Fellowship Program. As a student
assistant for the Office of Legislative Counsel, Kiara exhibited her many personal and professional
strengths, including her strong written communication skills. As a resolution writer, she also
demonstrated her adept research and critical thinking skills, as well as her creativity. For instance,
Kiara skillfully provided consultative services, made recommendations, and advised legislative
staff on how they might resolve issues that would be susceptible to the objection of the Senate or
Assembly Committee on Rules. She also worked closely with legislative staff to ensure the final
draft reflected favorably on the member of the legislature that would be presenting her work.
Kiara s strengths also include her dedication and multitasking skills. I was amazed at the ease with
which she could successfully navigate through a variety of tasks, while juggling her responsibilities
as a college student. Not once did I see her become overwhelmed by a given task or assignment.
Kiara not only effectively prioritized her work to ensure due dates were met, but she worked in
advance of due dates to alleviate deadline pressures on others. If I were to critic Kiara on any
shortcomings, it would be to improve on her assertiveness and editing skills. ... Show more content

Mark Twain s Cone-Pone Opinions
According to Webster Dictionary, conformity is defined as, in compliance of rules, laws, or
standards. Mark Twain s, Cone pone Opinions, demonstrates how society reacts to new
conformities; individuals eventually conform to popular ideas and inevitably abandon these ideas
for something greater. Twain states, It is our nature to conform; it is force which not many can
successfully resist. (Twain 2). The reason people conform is not for self approval, but rather, for
the approval of others. In his essay, Twain discusses the flaring hoopskirt and how individuals were
appalled at first. Six months later, everyone admires hoopskirts and no one laughs anymore.
However, the hoopskirt has disappeared in the same way. One woman who abandoned this fashion
influenced others to abandon it as well. This demonstrates that society establishes habits, fashions,
and trends only to please others and will abandon those same habits, fashions, and trends to again
please others. Therefore, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In William James s, The Moral Equivalent of War, he explores the barbaric ways of war and
promotes world peace. The purpose of James s essay is to demonstrate that mankind cannot
achieve a perfect, warless society until there is a moral equivalent of war such as a substitute for
war s disciplinary function. The duties, penalties, and sanctions pictured in the utopias they paint
are all too weak and tame to touch the military minded. (James 51). Furthermore, James adds that
peace cannot be sought unless we maintain some military discipline. ...I do not believe that peace
either ought to be or will be permanent on this globe, unless the states pacifically organized
preserve some of the old elements of army discipline. A permanently successful peace economy
cannot be a simple pleasure economy. (53). Thus, humans need an equal balance of peace and war

device that can be thought as a gun. The second screen has a surface that can record or detect any
wave or particle that manages to pass through the slits and strike the screen. As will be seen,
sometime the researcher will open just one slit and other times both slits. The experiment is
conducted in stages in order to contrast waves from particles.
In the first stage a series of bullets (particles) will be fired toward the barrier with one slit open.
As expected a vertical pattern of bullet holes will appear behind slit 1. After opening the second
slit and firing another volley, a second vertical pattern will appear right next to the first one. In
other words the bullets behave just like particles in accordance with classical physics as would be
expected.
In stage two a monochromatic light (light with just one wavelength) will be emitted toward the
screen. This is in contrast to the light from a normal light bulb that is composed of many differing
wavelengths (making it difficult to observe the interference pattern). The second screen is coated
with a chemical that illuminates when impacted by light. When the monochromatic light is emitted
with only one slit open, a pattern of brightness appears just behind the slit. But with both slits open
an interference pattern is observed consisting of bright bands where constructive interference
occurred and dark bands where destructive interference occurred. Again, this is just what is
expected.

Analysis Of Cosi Fan Tutte
Avtaran Jain Cosi Fan Tutte Review Many have heard the saying that art does not have a language
barrier. However, there are times when the expression above fails to hold true for a performance. It
in during these times, that the unison of the audience breaks, and a dichotomy forms. My recent
experience with the play, Cosi Fan Tutte was somewhat similar to the events described above.
Although Cosi Fan Tutte attempts to establish itself in the hearts of the crowd through its talented
and experienced cast, it ultimately fails due to its tediously repetitive song structure and narrow
intended audience. The adeptness and dexterity of an individual have always been fundamental
talents to look for when viewing a performance. These individuals are the one that help the event
advance to success. When it comes to the qualities mentioned above, the cast of Cosi Fan Tutte
definitely possess most. Because Cosi Fan Tutte is a performance written by Mozart, it comes as
no surprise that the level of singingand acting required is highly demanding even for veterans in
the industry. Yet, despite all these hurdles, the cast of the performance is able to captivate and
delight the audience through its outstanding vocal finesse and entertaining characterization.
Ferrando, played by Carlos Feliciano and Guglielmo, played by Eli Glick are the stars of the show,
displaying their level of musical acumen through songs such as Una bella serenata and E voi ridete

The Causes Of Stress Management
Have you ever experienced stress? Stress is a common phenomenon that people experience in their
daily lives. When facing challenges and hurdles, it is natural to sometimes feel overwhelmed or
unconfident on how to address these new demands. In such circumstances when the people feel too
much pressure, it is said that they experience stress. As students, stress can be experienced while
adjusting to academic demands, while trying to fit into a new environment, or when trying to make
or maintain friendships. Work environments could also be stressful as individuals get overwhelmed
while trying to meet deadlines, work long hours, or adjust to new environment. While everyone
experiences stress, it is not necessarily a harmful thing; it could be a motivating factor. However,
very high levels of stress could be harmful to our physical and emotional wellbeing. This essay will
examine stress, its symptoms, causes, impacts and stress managementtechniques.
Chapter 1: Stress and its symptoms
The environment that we live in is socially, physically and emotionally challenging. As a result,
people have various mechanisms to address every day difficulties. However, some normal
mechanisms of addressing these challenges fail to work resulting in stress. Stress refers to a
situation whereby environmental demand or pressures exceed the abilities and resources of an
individual to cope with the pressures (Michie, 2002). Such pressures and demands are known as
stressors. In most cases such

Creation And The Persistence Of Evil By Levenson
In Creation and the Persistence of Evil , Levenson asserts that God s divine omnipotence
originates from his battle with rather than banishment of evil. There are a few textual facts to
consider in analysis of this statement. In an initial class discussion, we examined the fact that
God did not create evil. He created what was and what had the potential to be good (e.g. light,
man), separating it from what is deemed as evil (e.g. darkness). For instance, he did not create the
tree of knowledge of good and evil, but instead drew boundaries. Yet this concept from Genesis
conflicts with one that arises in Psalms 104:26. This verse states that Godcreated the Leviathan, a
sea monster, and later kills him in a battle ( thou brakest the heads of

As head of the second chancery, Machiavelli was also soon assigned the further job of secretary to
the Ten of War, the committee responsible for Florence s diplomatic relations. This meant that in
addition to his routine office duties, Machiavelli sometimes traveled abroad to act as spokesman for
the Ten.
During the next fourteen years, Machiavelli was sent on numerous diplomatic missions to France,
Switzerland, and Germany. His observations abroad resulted in many of the ideas that form the
basis for the major statements found in his political works. While in France, Machiavelli observed
the effect of having one prince ruling a united country and in 1512 he wrote his most famous
treatise The Prince. Remembering how the French benefitted from having one principality ruled
by one prince, Machiavelli intended The Prince to serve as a guide to centralize Italy under one
principality, as well as how to gain, maintain political power. Most importantly, The Prince suggests
how to rule effectively and what kind of prince is best.
Dedicated to Lorenzo DiMedici, The Prince provides a blueprint for how to take control of other
lands and how to maintain power over them. The Prince is different because Machaivelli avoids
purely theoretical issues and focues on how things actually are, rather than speculating on how they
might be. Drawing examples from his personal experiences and

Rapid Prototyping As A Tool For Mobile App Development

Rapid prototyping as the name implies is a process of quickly transforming user s understanding
and definition a system to the built to mock up design, either it be a website or an
application(web, windows or mobile) and having these designs validated by reviewing it with a
larger team of users, stakeholders, designers and developers.

3.2 Disadvantages of rapid prototyping If not controlled, it can see introduction of additional

4.0 Best and worst Practices of prototyping
4.1 Best Practice
1) Work collaboratively with users, business and IT stakeholders while rapid prototyping.
2) Understand that rapid prototyping is a means to an end and not the end product itself. This
would help in avoiding prototype creep because expectations are set.
3). Make provision for component (templates, patterns, widgets) reuse.
4) When creating interactive high fidelity prototypes and simulations, build in realistic delays so
that users do not expect instant response times from the final product.
5) Remind users during every prototype review session that the product is a mock up and not the
actual solution. It encourages feedback and avoiding users from mistaking it for a working solution.
4.2 Worst Practice
1) Don t prototype features or functionality that cannot be implemented
2) Don t take every change or request that comes out of a prototype review as a new

There are many political messages in every part of our live, but Hip Hop has transcended ethnic

over whether deaf people should receive a cochlear implantor communicate solely through sign
language. The first single channel cochlear implant was introduced in 1972 as an electrical device
that provides a sense of hearing to those that are profoundly deaf or severely hard of hearing
(Tallungan). Though the technology behind cochlear implants has improved, there is still a divide
throughout the United States as to whether deaf individuals should receive cochlear implants or
communicate solely through sign language. But, by December 2012, 58,000 adults and 38,000
children had received cochlear implant in the United States (Tallungan).
While there are many risks involved with cochlear implants, there could also be many benefits. The
question that remains is, Do the benefits of receiving a cochlear implant outweigh the risks?
Although many advances have been made scientifically to improve the effectiveness of cochlear
implants, it is also important to examine the opinions of the deaf society, how a deaf person s
communication skills may develop with or without a cochlear implant, and the economic factors

Drug Laws And Laws In The United States
The United States of American is a society built upon principles and laws. These laws and
principles were decided to keep Americans safe and help one another co exist. In the beginning
as laws came into being law makers would play it by ear as they decided what could remain legal
for the public to take part in and what would be illegal and frowned upon by society. One of the
many issues American government has come face to face with issues about making legal or illegal
is drugs. Drugs since their first discovery has made a major impact in American history. Some
might say that drugs have been destructive to our country, but even so legal or otherwise, one can
say that they have contributed to the growth of our nation s economy. The government

Essay on The Kite Runner Relationship and Symbolism
How does Hosseini use symbolism in The Kite Runner to present key relationships? You should
consider different reader responses and the extent to which your critical approach assists your
interpretation. In Khaled Hosseini s novel, The Kite Runner , it is often thought that symbols and
metaphors are used as visual representations to reinforce and put emphasis on important stages in
the novel. In can be seen that symbols are used in the novel to highlight particular moments in key
relationships. For example Kites, the Pomegranate tree, Scars and the Slingshot are each used to put
emphasis on specific moments in the relationships between Amir and Hassan and Amir and Baba.
Through using symbolism and metaphor to present these key... Show more content on

At the end of the novel, the roles are swapped. Amir acts as the kite runner, whereas Sorhab
(Hassan s son who represents Hassan at this point) is the kite flyer. This could be symbolic of
Amir completing his journey of redemption and him re establishing his relationship with Hassan.
In particular, I feel that in chapter 7, the Blue Kite is used as a symbol of Hassan s loyalty
towards Amir. Hassan will not give up the blue kite which he ran for Amir after winning the kite
tournament, even when he is faced with rape as he is afraid that giving up the kite will
jeopardize his friendship with Amir. This could be seen as symbolic of the protection and
dedication which Hassan shows towards Amir. The blue kite is an object which is in between
Hassan and Assef in chapter seven, in the same way that in chapter five, Amir is in between
Hassan and Assef. Hassan won t let the blue kite get torn or damaged by Assef in the same way
that he wouldn t let Assef hurt Amir in chapter 5, in my opinion the blue kite is clearly a symbol
of Hassan s dedication and devotion towards Amir; he would rather endure rape than disappoint
him. Secondly the Pomegranate tree can be seen as a symbol of Amir and Hassan friendship,
childhood innocence and shelter. The tree is presented to the reader in two different states. When
the tree appears in the first part of the story, in chapter 4, the tree is shown as being fruitful and
blooming with blood red

The Role Of Fashion During The 1920 S
The 1920 s was a time of great change. (Some changes that happened during 1920s were the nation
s wealth doubled, more americans lived in the cities, advancements in technology, and women being
able to vote.) One big change that occurred during the 1920 s social shift was the fashion industry.
Fashionis something that reflects the beliefs and social standards of that time. This industry, along
with others, had an immense boom during the 1920s. The evolution of fashion during this decade
is described as ... abandoning fussiness and unnecessary details (Anne McEvoy). Fashion played
an important role in the 1920s, for it was a reflection of a period of escapism, women s

Women were looking to become their own person, they wore comfortable and colorful clothing,
they worked, and they went to parties. For once they wanted to live for themselves. A flapper is
one women most people associate with the 1920s. Flappers were generally young women who
bobbed their hair (cut it short). They wore short, loose fitting dresses and enhanced their faces with
makeup (Cynthia Johnson and Lawrence W. Backer). Being a flapper was one way women could
be independent and not be highly criticized for.
Flappers weren t just recognized for the fashionable clothes, it described their unconventional
attitudes and behavior ( Anne McEvoy). Flappers and young women in the 1920s used fashion
as a way to speak for them, wearing certain things to let other people know that they wanted to be
more free and modern as a society. Flappers and young women weren t the only women who
wanted change, older women wanted change too, by fighting for their right to vote. They also
used fashion to reflect what they were fighting for. Many liberated suffragettes wore bright red
lipstick as a symbol of their newfound voices ( by Cynthia Johnston and Lawrence W. Backer).
Women s independence was one of the biggest social changes that occurred.
Women and men started to become more laid back and relaxed about the high expectation that were
expected from the older generations. On both sides of the Atlantic life was now fun, one

The Chamber Of Commerce V. Whiting
Alexandra Kulak Issue Analysis Chamber of Commerce v. Whiting 10.24.2014 Chamber of
Commerce v. Whiting was a Supreme Court decision regarding the Legal Arizona Workers Act,
which penalized businesses and proprietors in Arizona that hired illegal immigrants, and required
that businesses check the citizenship status of their potential employees using the e verify system.
Various civil rights groups as well as businesses, collectively titled Chamber of Commerce ,
claimed the federal Immigration Reform and Control Act preempted these statutes in the Arizona
law. The state law was upheld in 2011. Immigration is a contentious issue in politics that seems to
be stagnating. There is a massive population of illegal immigrants, and some people feel they
should be granted amnesty, while others think they should all be deported back to their respective
home countries. The question of how to handle their American born children is another issue
altogether. There are many moral questions to consider. It is controversial, and some state laws,
like the one in question in this court case, raise more questions about how to handle the problem of
illegal immigrants and legal immigrants vying for the same opportunities. The Chamber of
Commerce sued the Governor of Arizona, on the grounds that the statues in the Arizona state law
went beyond what the federal law in place allowed for. It is considered politically correct to not
discriminate, especially when it comes to the hiring in the

A dance piece that struck my attention and that I wanted to learn more about was the Waltz of
the Snowflakes in the production of Hard Nut by Mark Morris, which is his own production,
based on The Nutcracker . Instead of Prima Ballerinas gracefully dancing across the stage, Morris
decided to create a giant ensemble of men and women in tutus. I believe Morris wanted to express
a more modern take on The Nutcrackerand use an ensemble to create a piece that is inclusive in the

Mark Morris is known as one of the most successful and influential choreographers alive, and

and I felt the need to vomit out the curly fries I had just eaten. I thought to myself Why did I
agree to this? I m going to faint! But let s start at the beginning of the story, you know the one
where I decided to ride my first roller coaster.
I was in a black durango with my best friends Marlee, Emma and Katelyn. Marlee s mom was
driving us to Six Flags to celebrate her 12th birthday. When we got inside the park after an hour
or so of singing our favorite songs at the top of our lungs and talking about how much we hated
school, the first thing we all did was grab a map so we could find our favorite rides. It was almost
perfect weather outside with a breeze but the sun still shining. About 3 hours passed then I heard,
Let s ride Medusa!
I begged them to let me stay on the ground and I did for their first ride. When they got off all I
heard was, Come on Ava, you ll have so much fun! Yeah Medusa is the best roller coaster here!
from Marlee and Emma with excited looks on their faces. After a few minutes of stalling, you
know talking about how many people have died on roller coasters, saying I had to use the restroom,
yada yada yada, I finally made the best decision in my life and said yes to go on the roller coaster.
It was almost closing hour so where the super duper crazy long lines usually were, there were only
five other people in line. We sat in a row of

The Lack Of Accessibility Of The American Dream
Imagine living in a perfect world where people can do what they want with their life; a world
without discrimination, where art is just as important as math. Well, it s not going to happen. At
least not in the next century. The lack of accessibility of the American dream is especially apparent
in the essay by Kesaya Noda, The Four Freedomsby Franklin Roosevelt, Veterans Day: Never
Forget Their Duty from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and an excerpt from The Newsroom . The
American dream is inaccessible to the majority of people in America. In the story, a hyphenated
American, a Japanese American girl is segregated due
To her race: I can see myself today as a person historically defined by law and custom as being
forever alien. Being neither free white, nor African, our people in California were deemed
aliens, ineligible for citizenship no matter how long the intended to stay here. Aliens ineligible
for citizenship were prohibited from owning, buying, or leasing land (Noda). Due to the
stereotypes and racism caused by being a minority in America, she is limited in what she can do
and therefore cannot achieve what is perceived to be the American dream. Noda expresses how
her parents were discriminated against, how they never had the opportunity to achieve the
American dream because other people didn t view them as equals when she says our parents
were painted as hard workers who were socially uncomfortable and had difficulty expressing even
the smallest opinion. Clean, quiet, motivated, and determined to match the American way; that is
us, and that is the story of our time here (Noda). Nobody saw her parents as fellow humans and
because of it, they didn t even have a chance at living the American dream. What is the American
dream? The American dream is what the founding fathers wanted for our country. That perfect life
where nobody had to worry about personal and economical safety. When Franklin Roosevelt wrote
The Four Freedoms , the American dream is what he was writing about. In his article, Roosevelt
states the basic things expected in America: Equality of opportunity for youth and others. Jobs for
those who can work. Security for those who need it. The ending of special privilege

The Importance Of Creating A Business Website
Creating a business website can play a huge impact on your business. It helps establish the
background of your business. By having a secured website it shows people the kind of business it
presents to its customers. In this paper it will present the different ways to create a successful
business website.
First thing you want to do when creating a business is create a domain name. A domain name is the
name of the website. It ranges from 10 to 12 dollars to maintain the domain name every year. Next
the business should get a personalized business email, just in case people want to come in contact
with the business. Secure a business email and not a personal email for the business. Then next you
want to choose a website builder to get the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also make navigation through the website easy. Make navigation clear and simple on every page
(Fadeyev 2008).
A strategy to take mind of when creating a business website is to think of your competitors who
sell or do the same thing as the business. A strategy would be is to make yourself different than
other competitors, because 9 times out of 10 the customer is going to go to the business website
that offers more and is different. Being different is the key when creating a website because being
different the business can offer more value than its competitors (Fadeyev 2008).
Another Strategy for creating a business website is to choose a template and plugins for your
website. The business should choose a certain software for the website and a host for the website.
Choosing a template for the website will give your website the way the business want it to feel.
Next thing to do in order to have a successful business website is organize your website.
Organizing your website includes the logo usage, and how other visual effects are displayed on the
website feature. The business should organize and set the structure of information on your website
to give you good flexibility. Another way to have a successful website is to have good content. The

In Towards a Phenomenology of Dwelling, Lisa Guenther puts forth thought on dwelling, and
doing so responsibly. She brings up the idea of a person s daimon, which I like to think of as a
person s conscious. It tells you the possible things that you can do, both good and bad, but
ultimately, only you can decide what you will do. The visual of an angel and the devil sitting upon
either shoulder comes to my mind. Others are more aware of your daimon than you are, and this is
because there are parts of yourself that you do not see. Whether this be physical, like your habits,
tendencies, and body language or not visible like your desires, most of the time, others are more
aware of this than you are. Desires influence every decision that you make,

Cultural competence is significant especially for group leaders since groups have so much
diversity. To provide competent supervision, supervisors must assist trainees in conceptualizing
diversity issues, becoming aware of personalizations related to diversity, and generating diversity
competent interventions at all levels of group work interaction (Okech Rubel, 2007, para. 4).

The zeitgeist of the time was the final collapse of a certain kind of thinking. The seeds were
sown for feminism, for the whole notion of cyberspace, ecology, and the whole philosophy of
Gaia. Suzy Hopkins, formerly Suzy Creamcheese, a dancer and inspirational figure on the
underground scene in Los Angeles and London, remembers the visceral way psychedelic culture
affected the senses. There s a difference between a drug and a psychedelic. Drugs make you
drugged and psychedelics enhance your ability to see the truth or reality, she says. For her, LSD
and music created a kind of alchemy. When I start to dance, at a certain point, the dance takes

Many psychedelic bands explored this sense of abandonment in their music, moving away from
standard rock rhythms and instrumentation. The Grateful Dead of San Francisco, for instance,

1984 and the Nazi Regime George Orwell, in his dystopian novel 1984 written shortly after World

attitude and structure of the two societies. The novel is told by an omniscient narrator following
Winston, a man questioning his memory and the morality of Big Brother s government, which is
most effective for this novel. Thus, through Winston s internal dialogue, Orwell alludes to Nazi
Germanys past to predict Oceania s future in order to create a parallel between the structure and

The society is divided into three classes: the proles (working class, comparable to early treatment

down on the proles and paid them no mind with the idea that the proletariats were inferior.
Additionally, members of the inner and outer parties shared the same characteristics as those in
power of the Nazi regime: tall muscular youths and deep bosomed maidens, blond haired, vital,
sunburnt, carefree (60). In addition to the similarities in structure, Oceania also destroyed all
books created before Big Brother gained power. Therefore, the structure of Oceania is a direct

Persuasive Speech On Aliens
After speaking with me a little, it doesn t take long to realize I am a giant nerd. I love Science
Fiction and I never turn down a good Outer Limits or Doctor Who marathon. It makes my heart beat
fast when I hear the words There is nothing wrong with your television set. Do not attempt to adjust
the picture. We are controlling transmission or Are you my mummy? Just thinking about it now
makes me a bit giddy.
Recently, I was very excited to be a part of a discussion on aliens. The topic was What if the
aliens were actually watching us? Even further, what if they were watching us and judging us
based on how we treat people with disabilities. Perhaps that s why aliens haven t communicated
with us. Why people with disabilities though? Think about it. People with disabilities are an
incredibly diverse community. Anyone can be disabled. Race, wealth, age... none of it is a factor in
determining who has a disability and who doesn t. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not all aliens speak or can speak, hear or see. There are aliens with differing mobility, size and
shape. Old school aliens from movies set in the 50 s all used telepathy. The aliens from the Alien

uses a limited amount of noises and physical gestures to communicate. Author Temple Grandin
mentioned in an interview that she loved the character of Mr. Spock because his ability to act
without emotion made it more possible for him to save the day where Captain Kirk could not.
While the show was airing, Leonard Nimoy was often applauded for his character s parallels to

Step Change Methodology And Tooling For Machining With An...
Today I will be talking about the research I did on quick change methodology. This is a very
fascinating and important topic for the machining process in all plants across the world. The
topics that will be covered in this paper are as follows defining quick change methodology and
tooling for machining with an overview history and recent advancements, SMED overview history
and recent advancements, then a compare and contrast of quick change methodology and SMED,
and to wrap up the paper I will illustrate how I can use this information to improve a
manufacturing process I am familiar with. These were great research topics and I learned a ton of
great valuable information that would be very useful in future endeavors.
First I will talk about defining quick change methodology and tooling for machining with an
overview history and recent advancements. It is a modular system that allows tools to be changed
rapidly on a machine during the initial part setup and the tool change after a tool is worn out. The
system radically decreases machine downtime for tool change for the duration of setup changes. It
is also for changing worn out inserts during machining. Normally a tool is fastened by putting it
into a slot in the turret and tightening screws to hold it resolutely. With doing this older process of
fastening the tool, extreme care must be taken to seat the holder correctly against existing butting
surfaces. Then the tool offsets must be set by touching the part or taking skin

Big Bad Wolf Persuasive Essay
Eating is a necessary commodity. Every living being has to eat in order to stay alive. In fact,
you can only survive about 3 weeks without eating. Many animals don t receive backlash for the
food they eat because, even us, human beings understand that it s necessary to obtain proteins.
However, the Big, Bad Wolf will always be unfairly criticized for eating pigs. Even though
society views the wolf as malicious, that is very far from the truth as proven in sources B, C,
and H because the wolf deserves to eat food as much as the pigs do. You re obliged to feed
yourself as much as any person or animal is. Food is such an essential item you could say that
everyone deserves to eat. However, many tried to verbally attack the wolf in his decision of
eating the pigs. Nevertheless, you re right, nobody should take accountability because wolves
[decide to] eat cute animals (Source B). I m sure, If cheeseburgers were cute, folks would
probably think you were Big and Bad (Source B). When interpreted, the comparison seems frugal,
but in the larger picture it makes sense. Primarily because wolves, like... Show more content on

Application Of Theories For Business Decisions
Introduction:
On the following pages i will explain and analyse what is customers and to gain the greater
understanding of needs, wants and attitudes of them with application of theories. Also I will explain
what market is and I will discuss types of information needed to support marketing decisions.
1.What is customer?
Customer is the receiver of a good, product etc. .Acquired from a seller, supplier via a transaction
or exchange for money or something other valuable.
External and internal customers
Customers are divided into two classes (internal, external):

Check for additional needs.
Use experience and knowledge to offer the right products and services to meet the customer s needs.
Customer wants
Wants are a not exactly the same of needs and are largely dependent on the needs of humans
themselves.
Our wants come from of our personal experience and might demand from countries to country. Also
in lots of times the cultures and tradition in some countries Some important wants of the customers:
To listen what they saying.
They want speed to the service.
They need value.
Positive surprise.
Different between needs and wants:
Wants is a step up in the order of need, and is something that people desire to have. Needs is
necessary for people such as the food, a home etc. From the other hand the wants are not very
necessary for people because they can live without them such us a bike or a pool in the house.

This Halloween, Sean Clancy had the most original costume in his southern Pennsylvania
neighborhood. The base layer of his costume wasn t very exciting at all a flannel shirt, jeans and

Differences And Similarities Between Aristotle And Aristotle
Aristotle and Plato have been two of the most important philosophers, who have transcended their
writings to our culture. But inside they found several differences and similarities.
Ontology.
The fundamental difference between the metaphysics of Plato and Aristotle is that Platoconcepts
are ideas, and Aristotle are ways. Plato thinks that there are two worlds, sensitive objects (sensible
world) and ideas (intelligible world). The latter world is providing a true knowledge, and which
we can only trust, while the second is based onDoxa or opinion.
Aristotle thinks that there is only one world, the sensible. This world is full of material things with
a form found in them. But his thinking is not far from Plato. Aristotle thought forms exist with
individuals, but do not disappear with the death of these (though eventually die with the passage of
time, so they are more permanent than individuals, which makes them more real). He also defended
the existence of the Unmoved Mover, which does not belong to the sensible and represents the most
real and permanent entity that exists, asthe idea Bien Plato.
Epistemology.
For Aristotle the forms are not eternal causes a big difference between these two philosophers in
what concerns the soul. Both thought the soul had three parts belonging to the intelligible world,
but for Plato the soul is eternal, immortal, like all ideas, while Aristotle the soul is eternal, it is a
form is mortal, corrupted and

1950 s Inventions
As Albert Einstein once said, The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination. This
logic is what sparked the creation of the popular inventions of the 1950 s. Even though some
inventions of this decade may not be around today, they still have a significance on inventions and
thinking today. There are plenty of inventions that we use in modern time. Some examples are the
Barbie Doll, Diet Soda, and today s most popular fast food chain McDonalds. There were many
types of inventions in the 1950 s such as technological, medical, and other inventions that are still
used today.
One example of a technological invention of the nineteen fifties was the video recorder. The video

sold for three dollars. Another invention that is still around is McDonald s. The founder of
McDonald s is named Ray Kroc and the restaurant is named after two brothers by the names of
Dick and Mac (Ruth). By the year nineteen fifty eight McDonald s had sold their one hundred
millionth hamburger. He named McDonalds after the brothers because he was inspired on how
successful the restaurant was. Diet soda was another invention that is still used today. The Kirsch
Bottling Company was the first company to successfully make diet soda. The company made the
first sugar free ginger ale (Ruth). Diet soda was originally made for diabetics at the Jewish
Sanitarium for Chronic Disease. The next successful company to make diet soda was in nineteen
fifty eight and was made by a company named Royal Crown Cola. Royal Crown Cola Company

Number Of Drops Of A Penny Lab Report
Introduction
The number of drops a penny can hold is affected by the type of liquid. Will the number of drops
on the penny until it overflows change if I change the liquid from water to sodium chloride water
and by how much will it change? To investigate this, there needs to be variables that are not
changed when experimenting. The penny is the dependent variable because it depends on the
number of drops to overflow and the drops of the liquid the independent variable as it does not
change or depend. The controlled variables include using the same penny, applying the same
amount of pressure on the dropper for each drop, the height of the drop that is falling onto the
penny, and using the same dropper. The independent variable is changed from... Show more content

In this recent one, how many drops of sodium chloride can a penny hold before it overflows, it
turned out to be the penny can hold 31 drops before it overflows. However these results may not
be as accurate as they are supposed to be and may only be 80 percent accurate. Evaluation
/Analysis The height of the liquid dropping from the dropper may have been from the same
height if the hand was resting on the table/desk for each drop of sodium chloride, however the
angles the liquid was dropped and where (on which part of the penny) it was dropped may make
a difference in results. It may interfere with the amount of force on the water on top of the penny
to cause it to move and overflow. Another error may be with the amount of liquid dispersed on
the penny each time (in one squeeze of the dropper) which also associates with the amount of
force exerted as the dropper was squeezed. A solution this would be to use a dropper than only
disperses a certain amount of liquid at a time (the pressure or force of the squeeze does not make
a difference to how much liquid is released). This would provide more accurate results and not

How Does Stereotypes Affect Society
There are numerous influences across the world that can affect society. Any patterns that
prompts certain behaviors are typically expected by certain groups. An individual perspective of
what is most important in life must do with our view of the world. There are also different
behaviors in which we may show within our community that cause society to either accepted
those behaviors, or have negative impact on us more so that we realize. We also have our
generation beliefs that have been passed down to us that we believe is true. It is up to us as
people to decide what we will allow to have help us shape our view on society. We can t annoy the

We learn them through socializing with each other, and through the media. Stereotypes can have
our view on one another twisted because the individual may not be doing what we see to be

poor health choices. We as people should change the way we feel people should act, so that the
viewpoint of society will not be based on labels or opinions, but the character from within. As we
look at what is going on in the News today. According to WALB News there s are two high school

Meriam People Case Summary
(a)The relationship between the parties in the case
In 1982, five Murray Islanders begun action against the government of Queensland pursuing
assertions of rights to the use and enjoyment of traditional land that had been uninterruptedly
occupied by the Meriam people before and since the takeover by the defendant government.
(b)The primary issue determined by the case
The primary issue that the High Court was asked to consider within Mabo was whether the
Meriam people essentially had native rights in the Murray Islands, and if the people did in fact
have these pre existing rights, whether the Australian law should guard these rights and interests
and thus allow the Meriam people legal recognition to the land in question. (c)A summary of the
reasons of Brennan J. on the primary

also discussed the relevance of the rejection of universal and absolute ownership. He discussed
the idea that the Crown had absolute ownership of, legal possession of an exclusive power to
confer title to, all land in the Murray Islands. So to was the idea considered that the doctrine of
tenure was complete, such that every segment of land which was acquired by England was held
mediately or immediately of the King who is the Lord Paramount . Brennan J. concluded that the
doctrine of tenure applies to every Crown grant of an interest in land, but not to rights and interests
which do not owe their existence to a Crown grant . Thus, it was accepted by the majority that the
Crown in fact acquired a radical title as opposed to an absolute title upon the acquirement of any
land, and that this radical title would be subject to native title rights in the occurrence that the
appropriate native title rights had not been reasonably or formerly

1.Though the Paxon community already excels in the academic category, there are some changes
that I would like to see in Paxon. Ever since I attended Paxon my freshmen year I observed that the
involvement in student activities around campus started to decline, to be able to gain the
interaction this school year would make students high school experience more fun. Also it would
be nice to have a few more pep rallies, than twice a year and I feel as if they are mainly focused
on the athletes most of the time and not recognizing other students who do not play sports. Yes, I
am aware that it is important not to miss class but, it would be reasonable if there were sort of
activity before breaks to get students pumped up and to release the stress they have been having
over homework, test, quizzes, etc. And not to compare it to our rival school Stanton, they have
way more activities and rallies, such as winter fest and multi for their students and I am sure that
they have more activities, yet they are one of the top schools in the country. Since our school is
not as involved as theirs, having some sort of field day with booths, food and music would work
as well. Another change that I would like to see in the Paxon community is more ... Show more

  • 2. The Importance Of School Uniforms A student gets pushed into a locker, the instigator takes the child s shirt and pulls it. Where did you get this shirt from, five below? The other people surrounding the child laugh. Now that same child runs home to his mother crying in tears. The child proceeds to tell him about his day whimpering word after word. A mother struggling to pay for the house now feels obligated to buy her child more expensive clothes just because they were picked on. Well if students had a uniform the instigator would not be able to pick on anything because they are wearing the same clothes. Roughly twenty nine percent of the United States population are lower class according to the graph in Marilyn Geewax article, The Tipping Point: Most Americans No Longer Are Middle Class. Many schools give children the privilege to wear what they want to school, although is this a bad idea? Children are picked on for there attire, others getting dress coded for explicit clothing, but the problems are redundant had the schools enforce a rule about uniforms. One may argue that with a uniform does not give the student the privilege to express oneself. Although that s not true. Many students who do have dress ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Mexico s Role In Organized Crime Mexico s role in organized crime has been defined by its neighbor s status as the largest consumer in the world (InSight Crime). Elaine Carey traces the roots of Mexico s organized crime to the Chinese in Mexico during the late nineteenth century. Chinese groups operated an international human smuggling network that transported Chinese migrants to the United States via Mexicoas a response to the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882. Also, during the Mexican Revolution of 1910, military leaders utilized crime as a means to fund their armies (Carey, 2200). The Prohibition in the United States (1919 1933) provided organized crime in Mexico an opportunity to make revenue by supplying alcohol to its northern neighbor. Interestingly, after the Prohibition,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This figure can be subject to debate because it may not include those who are in rural regions that may go uncounted by government agencies. 1.65 million Mexicans migrating means that an average of 330,000 persons is internally displaced on an annual basis (Cantor, 3). The depth of such an Exodus is exemplified by Ciudad JuГЎrez in the border state of Chihuahua, where about 230,000 Mexicans fled their homes between 2007 and 2010, approximately half migrated to the United States (Cantor, 3). A group represented in the exodus in JuГЎrez is what Morales and his colleagues call the Mexican Business Elites who are Mexican nationals that migrated with U.S. business investor visas. Numerous businesses like in Cuidad JuГЎrez are extorted for money by cartels, or their employees, family, or clients are held hostage or killed. As a result, business visa (E1 E2) applications have increased by six percent from the time the CalderГіn waged its war on drugs and organized crime (Morales, 87). From 2001 to 2005 (Pre Drug War) only 7,603 visas were granted, however from 2006 to 2010 the number increased to 31,066 visas (Rios, 19). From 2006 to 2011, the U.S. Executive Office for Immigration Review reported 23,715 applications from Mexicans sought political asylum in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Twelfth Night Duality In Act 1, Scene 2 of Twelfth Night, as Viola lays down her plans before the captain, she speaks about a major theme of the play: the way a person seems outwardly versus their true self. Viola says she is aware people cannot be trusted based on their looks, but trusts the captain. She then requests his help so she can be dressed as a boy for the remainder of the play. The way she behaves also hits on another theme, the contrast between people that can act as a balance. Through comparison, she can be seen as a counterbalance to Sebastian in the way they both conduct themselves. The majority of the characters have a twin of their own to act as a sort of foil. Exploring this passage (1.2.96 108) will help see the double themes of duality that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As if extending the idea of the twins, Viola and Sebastian, nearly everyone seems to have their complementary twin. As mentioned earlier, Viola takes charge and makes her own plans while Sebastian seems to operate on whims. There is also a difference in their outlooks. Viola is easily assured that her brother may still be alive, while Sebastian is certain his sister is dead. Olivia and Orsino also act as the counterbalance to one another. While both are absorbed in their own melancholy moods, Orsino does it for the love he desires and Olivia does it for loved ones she s lost. Despite their opposing approaches towards wooing, they both end up with a love of their own. Another interesting counterbalance is between the captain and Antonio. The captain saved Viola, but after accepting money to help her, he went his separate way, never expressing feelings for her. In contrast, Antonio rescued Sebastian, then gave him money and followed him, all the while expressing love for him. Then there is Sir Toby and Malvolio, perhaps two of the most evident opposites in the play because of the way Malvolio actively opposes Sir Toby. Malvolio is somber and serious. He wants people to respect him and kisses up to Olivia. Sir Toby, however, is more of a clown than Feste, staying up to all hours of the night, drinking and carelessly waking the house with his singing. Malvolio does what he can to seem above his station, but Sir Toby does not worry what others think and often seems below his station. Though, with a character like Malvolio, finding people to be his opposite is no chore; Feste and Maria could also work to contrast with him, but Malvolio and Sir Toby s hatred of each other do seem most ... • 5. What Is The Similarities Of The Fourknocks In Co. Meath This essay aims to compare and contrast the nature of the rituals that would have taken place at any two of the sites that we encountered on our fieldtrip. The two megalithic sites that will be compared and contrasted in this essay will be the passage tomb known as Fourknocks in Co. Meath and the Proleek wedge tomb in Co. Louth. Both of these megalithic tombs characterise the majority of the Irish landscape and are of great importance to archaeologists as they give us an insight to the lifestyles and social structures of the societies that would have constructed these wonderful megalithic sites. Megalithic sites like Fourknocks and the Proleek wedge tomb are at the centre of controversy within the archaeological profession. There is little or no doubt that these large stone structures were erected in order to hold the remains of the dead but archaeologists would also like to believe that there is more to these large stone structures then just having a funerary orientated purpose (Brown, 1979). Other purposes that could be related to these monuments include, links to the spirit world, astronomical, directional or calendrical purposes (Brown, 1979). • 6. Adorno s Critique Of Popular Music And Capitalism Analysis Throughout history, music has been seen as a medium in which different people all over the world can relate. Adorno criticizes, however, that songs that have the most hits on the top music charts or are most listened to, otherwise known as popular music, are being produced for and consumed by the masses as a commodity. He identifies popular musicas being a part of a culture used for capitalism, and that we as listeners, are falling into a trap in which we believe songs have individuality and that we have the freedom to choose what we listen to. He argues that in reality these popular songs are all standardized and made to seem different through various elements that are added. In this paper, I will display how Adorno s critique of popular music being used for capitalism applies to the song,1 800 273 8255, by hip hop and rap artist Logic, through its standardized elements in both its content and marketing; however, I will argue that although it contains these elements, the audience is actively listening and responding to the song as it brings awareness to mental health and suicide prevention that is changing and saving lives all around us. In the hit hip hop song, 1 800 273 8255, performed by Logic and featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid, the audience is taken through the experience of someone who is contemplating suicide. The song begins within the point of view of a person calling the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), 1 800 273 8255, which is sang by Logic. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. New Forms And Models Of Church In thinking about the potential for new forms and models of church, we must first articulate what the goals are for this church as well as for the community. With respect to the church, one of the main emphases at this time according to judicatory, is to care for the congregation. The second goal for the church is to develop a new ministry plan that is more extensive than the previous plan. The third and final goal is to organize work in the community. These goals will guide the possibilities for new forms and models of church. Another aspect of this church that forms the discussion of the models and forms of church is the idea that this is a Community church. [1] What this means is that this is a church that is intentional about being... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While as the case mentions, this will evolve as time goes on, this congregation will begin on this goal by intentional steps for the many different members to get to know each other more deeply in order to become a community. This could be as simple as sitting with someone new in worship each week, or sticking around for a few minutes after the service to talk to someone new. This begs the question, of how will this intentional focus be initiated? It will be initiated by the pastors that rotate in the pulpit, by the teaching and preaching on the focus of becoming a community and how this is important for the congregation. For example, a sermon or sermon series could be on Paul s words in Corinthians about the body[3] and how that understanding can be the fundamental for understanding what community means in the congregation. In addition, there is also a form within the model of community that is important. This form is a congregation that has Open hearts, open minds, open doors. [4] What this form will look like is a church that is inviting and welcoming of all peoples either already in the congregation or if they are new and come into the congregation. The bottom line is that while of course, the pastors shall care for the congregation, especially in the ways ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is a company with a distinctive organization culture and not only is it one of the world s largest, but also is considered to be one of the best managed manufacturing companies in the world. By taking a closer look at the ongoing influence of the founders of the company, the golden rule, the incentive management plan, the performance appraisal system, the way people communicate within the company, the merit pay plan, the bonus plan, and the management style it is clear to see that the Lincoln Electric Company is indeed a very well run organization due to its unique and diacritical ... The Lincoln Electric Company was founded based on Christian principles and James Lincoln believed that every action be motivated by Christian ethics. Although, James Lincoln held such strong Christian beliefs, there is no evidence that he tried to preach the Christian gospel to his employees, customers, or even the public. Even today, in recent interviews, the current senior executives do not talk about the Christian gospel message. • 10. Kiara s Recommendation I am writing to recommend Kiara Patton to the Assembly Fellowship Program. As a student assistant for the Office of Legislative Counsel, Kiara exhibited her many personal and professional strengths, including her strong written communication skills. As a resolution writer, she also demonstrated her adept research and critical thinking skills, as well as her creativity. For instance, Kiara skillfully provided consultative services, made recommendations, and advised legislative staff on how they might resolve issues that would be susceptible to the objection of the Senate or Assembly Committee on Rules. She also worked closely with legislative staff to ensure the final draft reflected favorably on the member of the legislature that would be presenting her work. Kiara s strengths also include her dedication and multitasking skills. I was amazed at the ease with which she could successfully navigate through a variety of tasks, while juggling her responsibilities as a college student. Not once did I see her become overwhelmed by a given task or assignment. Kiara not only effectively prioritized her work to ensure due dates were met, but she worked in advance of due dates to alleviate deadline pressures on others. • 11. Mark Twain s Cone-Pone Opinions According to Webster Dictionary, conformity is defined as, in compliance of rules, laws, or standards. Mark Twain s, Cone pone Opinions, demonstrates how society reacts to new conformities; individuals eventually conform to popular ideas and inevitably abandon these ideas for something greater. Twain states, It is our nature to conform; it is force which not many can successfully resist. (Twain 2). The reason people conform is not for self approval, but rather, for the approval of others. In his essay, Twain discusses the flaring hoopskirt and how individuals were appalled at first. Six months later, everyone admires hoopskirts and no one laughs anymore. However, the hoopskirt has disappeared in the same way. One woman who abandoned this fashion influenced others to abandon it as well. This demonstrates that society establishes habits, fashions, and trends only to please others and will abandon those same habits, fashions, and trends to again please others. Therefore, the... The second screen has a surface that can record or detect any wave or particle that manages to pass through the slits and strike the screen. As will be seen, sometime the researcher will open just one slit and other times both slits. The experiment is conducted in stages in order to contrast waves from particles. In the first stage a series of bullets (particles) will be fired toward the barrier with one slit open. As expected a vertical pattern of bullet holes will appear behind slit 1. After opening the second slit and firing another volley, a second vertical pattern will appear right next to the first one. In other words the bullets behave just like particles in accordance with classical physics as would be expected. In stage two a monochromatic light (light with just one wavelength) will be emitted toward the screen. This is in contrast to the light from a normal light bulb that is composed of many differing wavelengths (making it difficult to observe the interference pattern). The second screen is coated with a chemical that illuminates when impacted by light. When the monochromatic light is emitted with only one slit open, a pattern of brightness appears just behind the slit. But with both slits open an interference pattern is observed consisting of bright bands where constructive interference occurred and dark bands where destructive interference occurred. Again, this is just what is expected. In the third stage ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Analysis Of Cosi Fan Tutte Avtaran Jain Cosi Fan Tutte Review Many have heard the saying that art does not have a language barrier. However, there are times when the expression above fails to hold true for a performance. It in during these times, that the unison of the audience breaks, and a dichotomy forms. My recent experience with the play, Cosi Fan Tutte was somewhat similar to the events described above. Although Cosi Fan Tutte attempts to establish itself in the hearts of the crowd through its talented and experienced cast, it ultimately fails due to its tediously repetitive song structure and narrow intended audience. The adeptness and dexterity of an individual have always been fundamental talents to look for when viewing a performance. These individuals are the one that help the event advance to success. When it comes to the qualities mentioned above, the cast of Cosi Fan Tutte definitely possess most. Because Cosi Fan Tutte is a performance written by Mozart, it comes as no surprise that the level of singingand acting required is highly demanding even for veterans in the industry. Yet, despite all these hurdles, the cast of the performance is able to captivate and delight the audience through its outstanding vocal finesse and entertaining characterization. Ferrando, played by Carlos Feliciano and Guglielmo, played by Eli Glick are the stars of the show, displaying their level of musical acumen through songs such as Una bella serenata and E voi ridete which require a vocal ... In such circumstances when the people feel too much pressure, it is said that they experience stress. As students, stress can be experienced while adjusting to academic demands, while trying to fit into a new environment, or when trying to make or maintain friendships. Creation And The Persistence Of Evil By Levenson In Creation and the Persistence of Evil , Levenson asserts that God s divine omnipotence originates from his battle with rather than banishment of evil. There are a few textual facts to consider in analysis of this statement. In an initial class discussion, we examined the fact that God did not create evil. He created what was and what had the potential to be good (e.g. light, man), separating it from what is deemed as evil (e.g. darkness). For instance, he did not create the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but instead drew boundaries. Yet this concept from Genesis conflicts with one that arises in Psalms 104:26. His observations abroad resulted in many of the ideas that form the basis for the major statements found in his political works. While in France, Machiavelli observed the effect of having one prince ruling a united country and in 1512 he wrote his most famous treatise The Prince. Remembering how the French benefitted from having one principality ruled by one prince, Machiavelli intended The Prince to serve as a guide to centralize Italy under one principality, as well as how to gain, maintain political power. Dedicated to Lorenzo DiMedici, The Prince provides a blueprint for how to take control of other lands and how to maintain power over them. The use of cochlear implants has become a very controversial topic within the deaf community. My question was inspired by the sources Why Is Dancing So Good for Your Brain and from Mapping the Bilingual Brain . Both sources mentioned sign language, which made me think about the debate over whether deaf people should receive a cochlear implantor communicate solely through sign language. The first single channel cochlear implant was introduced in 1972 as an electrical device that provides a sense of hearing to those that are profoundly deaf or severely hard of hearing (Tallungan). Though the technology behind cochlear implants has improved, there is still a divide throughout the United States as to whether deaf individuals should receive cochlear implants or communicate solely through sign language. But, by December 2012, 58,000 adults and 38,000 children had received cochlear implant in the United States (Tallungan). While there are many risks involved with cochlear implants, there could also be many benefits. The question that remains is, Do the benefits of receiving a cochlear implant outweigh the risks? Although many advances have been made scientifically to improve the effectiveness of cochlear implants, it is also important to examine the opinions of the deaf society, how a deaf person s communication skills may develop with or without a cochlear implant, and the economic factors ... You should consider different reader responses and the extent to which your critical approach assists your interpretation. In Khaled Hosseini s novel, The Kite Runner , it is often thought that symbols and metaphors are used as visual representations to reinforce and put emphasis on important stages in the novel. In can be seen that symbols are used in the novel to highlight particular moments in key relationships. Amir acts as the kite runner, whereas Sorhab (Hassan s son who represents Hassan at this point) is the kite flyer. This could be symbolic of Amir completing his journey of redemption and him re establishing his relationship with Hassan. In particular, I feel that in chapter 7, the Blue Kite is used as a symbol of Hassan s loyalty towards Amir. Hassan will not give up the blue kite which he ran for Amir after winning the kite tournament, even when he is faced with rape as he is afraid that giving up the kite will jeopardize his friendship with Amir. This could be seen as symbolic of the protection and dedication which Hassan shows towards Amir. The blue kite is an object which is in between Hassan and Assef in chapter seven, in the same way that in chapter five, Amir is in between Hassan and Assef. Hassan won t let the blue kite get torn or damaged by Assef in the same way that he wouldn t let Assef hurt Amir in chapter 5, in my opinion the blue kite is clearly a symbol of Hassan s dedication and devotion towards Amir; he would rather endure rape than disappoint him. Secondly the Pomegranate tree can be seen as a symbol of Amir and Hassan friendship, childhood innocence and shelter. The tree is presented to the reader in two different states. Whiting was a Supreme Court decision regarding the Legal Arizona Workers Act, which penalized businesses and proprietors in Arizona that hired illegal immigrants, and required that businesses check the citizenship status of their potential employees using the e verify system. Various civil rights groups as well as businesses, collectively titled Chamber of Commerce , claimed the federal Immigration Reform and Control Act preempted these statutes in the Arizona law. The state law was upheld in 2011. Immigration is a contentious issue in politics that seems to be stagnating. There is a massive population of illegal immigrants, and some people feel they should be granted amnesty, while others think they should all be deported back to their respective home countries. The question of how to handle their American born children is another issue altogether. There are many moral questions to consider. It is controversial, and some state laws, like the one in question in this court case, raise more questions about how to handle the problem of illegal immigrants and legal immigrants vying for the same opportunities. The Lack Of Accessibility Of The American Dream Imagine living in a perfect world where people can do what they want with their life; a world without discrimination, where art is just as important as math. The lack of accessibility of the American dream is especially apparent in the essay by Kesaya Noda, The Four Freedomsby Franklin Roosevelt, Veterans Day: Never Forget Their Duty from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and an excerpt from The Newsroom . The American dream is inaccessible to the majority of people in America. In the story, a hyphenated American, a Japanese American girl is segregated due To her race: I can see myself today as a person historically defined by law and custom as being forever alien. Being neither free white, nor African, our people in California were deemed aliens, ineligible for citizenship no matter how long the intended to stay here. Aliens ineligible for citizenship were prohibited from owning, buying, or leasing land (Noda). Due to the stereotypes and racism caused by being a minority in America, she is limited in what she can do and therefore cannot achieve what is perceived to be the American dream. Noda expresses how her parents were discriminated against, how they never had the opportunity to achieve the American dream because other people didn t view them as equals when she says our parents were painted as hard workers who were socially uncomfortable and had difficulty expressing even the smallest opinion. Clean, quiet, motivated, and determined to match the American way; that is us, and that is the story of our time here (Noda). Nobody saw her parents as fellow humans and because of it, they didn t even have a chance at living the American dream. What is the American dream? The American dream is what the founding fathers wanted for our country. That perfect life where nobody had to worry about personal and economical safety. Suzy Hopkins, formerly Suzy Creamcheese, a dancer and inspirational figure on the underground scene in Los Angeles and London, remembers the visceral way psychedelic culture affected the senses. The novel is told by an omniscient narrator following Winston, a man questioning his memory and the morality of Big Brother s government, which is most effective for this novel. But inside they found several differences and similarities. Ontology. The fundamental difference between the metaphysics of Plato and Aristotle is that Platoconcepts are ideas, and Aristotle are ways. Plato thinks that there are two worlds, sensitive objects (sensible world) and ideas (intelligible world). The latter world is providing a true knowledge, and which we can only trust, while the second is based onDoxa or opinion. Aristotle thinks that there is only one world, the sensible. This world is full of material things with a form found in them. But his thinking is not far from Plato. Aristotle thought forms exist with individuals, but do not disappear with the death of these (though eventually die with the passage of time, so they are more permanent than individuals, which makes them more real). Meriam People Case Summary (a)The relationship between the parties in the case In 1982, five Murray Islanders begun action against the government of Queensland pursuing assertions of rights to the use and enjoyment of traditional land that had been uninterruptedly occupied by the Meriam people before and since the takeover by the defendant government. (b)The primary issue determined by the case The primary issue that the High Court was asked to consider within Mabo was whether the Meriam people essentially had native rights in the Murray Islands, and if the people did in fact have these pre existing rights, whether the Australian law should guard these rights and interests and thus allow the Meriam people legal recognition to the land in question.
