The roof was asphalt shingle over wood shingle and the visible roof joints were lumber. Exterior

The Baroque Period Essay
Music reached its peak of success between the 17th and 18th century. This time period is known as
the Baroque period. Countless composers achieved immense success during this point in history,
two of the most famous being, Johann Bach and George Frideric Handel. The first opera, oratorio,
and cantata occurred during the Baroque period. Amazingly, most of the instruments used during
the period, remain in use today. The Baroque period in music obviously played a tremendous role in
the growth of music through its numerous successful composers and various types of instruments.
The Baroque period in music began 1600 and ended around 1750. The unique instruments and
styles defined the Baroque period as composers began to withdraw new and ... Show more content

After years of lessons, Handel attended Halle University. Simultaneous to his father s death,
Handel became a full time musician. Contributing significantly to the musical world, he is
considered to this day as one of the best organists of all time. Over the course of his life, George
Frideric Handel participated in over 50 operas, dramatic oratorios, and orchestras.
The myriad of instruments used during the Baroque period are divided into four groups: brass,
keyboards, strings, and winds. Included in the brass group are trumpets, horns, and sackbuts.
The trumpet, originally made of bamboo or wood, was replaced by a shorter version in 1300 and
later fashioned into the shape of an S in 1400. Continuing to evolve rapidly, the trumpet became
formed, coiled into an elongated loop in 1500 and could be constructed in both brass and silver. In
1820, valves were added along the body of the trumpet, which changed the pitch of the music it
played. Orchestral, or French horns, were first developed in 1650 in France and in the 1700s, the
French hunting horn entered the orchestra. Like the trumpet, valves were added to the horn in the
early 18th century.
Although they are not the best known group of instruments, keyboards play a prominent role in
the orchestra. The keyboard group includes organs and harpsichords. The organ is formulated of
flue pipes, an air supply, and keys. Flue pipes are made of either metal or wood, and act like a
whistle for the organ. The air supply

The Silent Film Within Our Gates
In 1920, Oscar Micheaux directed the silent film Within Our Gates which conducts an in depth
examination of race relations and discrimination within the United States. One of the outcomes of
the film is a blatant failure of justice resulting in the lynching of an African American couple, The
Landrys. Seemingly, time has not altered the inherent absence of justice concerning the treatment
of Black men and women in situations where criminal activity is suspected, legitimately or
otherwise. Evidence is found with the killings of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and
many other Black victims who died at the hands of police who are tasked with upholding justice
and fail to do so. However, what was the popular sentiment toward failure within the legal system
between 1920 and 2015? While not representative of this entire time span, in 1962, Robert
Mulligan s film To Kill a Mockingbird focuses on racerelations and an African Americanmale
wrongly accused of rape who is ultimately killed in a suspicious police shooting. Within Our
Gates and To Kill a Mockingbird each offer a presentation of a gross miscarriage of justice that is
obvious to the omniscient viewer, but the reaction the films garner from the audience varies from
outrage to resignation due to the implementation (or lack thereof) of a visual stimuli, telling of the
time period in which the films were produced.
The theme of a failure of justice for African Americans living in the present day United States dates

Nell Vyse Research Paper
The First Assistant From 1919, Vyse worked single handedly in his Cheyne Row studio.
However, it soon became apparent to Vyse that he required a capable assistant to relieve him of
minor studio chores. For instance, the making of secondary plaster moulds was a time
consuming process, which Vyse felt he could not spare. Bertha White (1900 nd.) came to him
with a recommendation from his former Art School in Hanley where she had studied modelling.
She was aged about nineteen when she joined Vyse at Cheyne Row.16 In her later life, as Mrs
Bertha Boydell (nee White), she corresponded with the writer J V G Mallet. It is from her letters

Cannabis Is Too Long Essay
If you accept our approach that cannabis is a living plant then you start to wonder how long your
cannabis will last. Maybe some of you more robust consumers have never confronted the question
but believe it or not, there are people whose buds last them a long time. So how long is too long?
Under the right conditions, your buds can sustain for long periods. But there are a few rules to
follow to get the most mileage you can.
Temperature
The thing about too much heat is that it degrades the trichomes on the cannabis bud and the
trichomes are where most of the cannabinoids are held. Cannabinoids like THC and CBD provide
the relaxation and symptomatic relief that cannabis consumers look for. Without them, the magic of
the plant degrades somewhat.
What is the ideal temperature for storing your cannabis? We know that molds and other organic
matter thrive in temperatures between 77В° F and 86В° F so we want ... Show more content on

Most humidor liners are cedar wood, which has its own oils and fragrance that influences your
cannabis. Tobacco humidors also use sponges that contain propylene glycol to regulate humidity
and these can over humidify your cannabis.
Light
Storing your cannabis in direct sunlight will guarantee rapid degradation of the oils and
cannabinoids in the plant. Not only do UV rays degrade the cannabis, but the light generates
excessive heat. Your best bet is a cool, dark place. Keep the cannabis protected for maximum
potency and freshness.
Air
Oxygen levels have a surprisingly dramatic impact on cannabis. If there is too little air and the
cannabis is not completely dry when stored, it can create an environment of extremely high relative
humidity. Too much air and the cannabis can dry out while other organic material may be
introduced into the container. Devices exist to manage the air content in your storage container.
The best solution is to minimize handling and exposure if

Raft Of The Medusa And The World Is Too Much With Us

Romanticism
Romanticism emerged in the 18th 19th centuries (primarily in opposition to Neo Classism) as a
way to express, as Victor Hugo said, liberalism in literature. The Romantic way of thinking
emphasized freedom from rules, and individuality. Many works of art and pieces of literature were
made following this theme, among them the painting, Raft of the Medusa and the poem the The
World is too Much with us .
The Raft of the Medusa is a painting done by Theodore Gericault in the 1800s. It is modeled after
the tragedy that was the shipwreck of the French naval frigate, MГ©duse, and it depicts the
survivors who were adrift on the raft.
The poem, The World is too much with us is a sonnet written by the Englishman William
Wordsworth in 1802. The composition is a romantic and satirical piece criticizing the people of the
modern world for their materialistic values and their disregarding of nature.
Both of these works are the epitome of Romanticism, as they both highlight the focal points of
Romantic thought; interest in the common man, strong senses and emotions, awe of nature,
celebration of the individual, and the importance of imagination.
The Romantics enjoy the struggle of the common man , and judging by the attire of the men on the
Raft of the Medusa , they are peasants just poor, everyday guys. These men have been subjected to
this terrible fate by the actions of those more fortunate

Confirmation In The 1910 Encyclical Quam Singulari Of...
Confirmation is a sacrament that has become an enigma wrapped in a riddle that ends with an
open ended question for teens all over the world. It has become an increasingly tough Sacrament
to define and explain to those coming to the sacrament of choice. This book was chosen by most
of us, not because of the size but because we have all been called upon to talk to confirmation
classes and talking more intelligently and genuinely is what this generation is striving to receive.
Since there is so much confusion over this sacrament it is imperative we try to live up to the
exhortation in paragraph 59 of Sacrosanctum Concilium. It is therefore of the highest importance
that the faithful should easily understand the sacramental signs (SC 59). Timothy Gabrielli s book
is meant to give the thinking and theology behind how this sacrament has been shaped by the
twentieth century culture. This book is meant to stir up conversation and understanding of the need
for more priority from the church and its leaders in the celebration of this sacrament. The main idea
running through this book is the 1910 encyclical Quam Singulari of Pius X as the stick of dynamite
that blew up the sacrament order. It appears to me it was the light that illuminated the need for a
change in the timing of first communion. The unforeseen consequence was the upheaval and
confusion around Confirmation since it was not mentioned in the encyclical. The first chapter starts
with the quote from the encyclical and

Colorado as an example of what kind of things could happen in Canada, such as a large tax
revenue, saving tax revenue on prohibition, and using that money to help improve things such as
schools in order to keep a positive aspect around it. I discovered this article through both google
scholar and the business source complete section in the online library. I thought it would be a good

benefits occurring are already a cause for other countries to want to legalize

Tesco Marketing
INTRODUCTION
Marketing is essentially a matching process between the needs and expectations of customers, and
the organization s ability and capacity to satisfy them.
One of the main points of this process is the marketing planning.
The purpose of marketing planning and its principal focus are the identification and creation of
competitive advantage. Marketing planning is the planned application of marketing resources to

Add to that a high rate of unemployment causes a drop in effective demand for goods, that demand
requiring for the production of goods.
While these economic factors are largely outside the control of Tesco, they have an undeniable
impact on the company business performance and its marketing decisions.
Tesco operates in a global world and is now located in several countries, and this international
business is still growing, but it remains dependent on the UK market. This excessive
concentration on a single market exposes them to risks and would be negatively affected by any
slowdown in the UK food market (as the crisis of mad cow in the 1990s)
Finally, the economic crisis, which is still current, tends to reduce the purchasing power of
consumers, who are much more reluctant and afraid to spend more than they can.
New technologies have had a great impact. For instance, online shopping has become a major
factor in Tesco s recent success.
Technology is the basis for the development of many products in the Tesco range. These new
technologies have provided consumers than the company itself.
Consumer satisfaction is higher because services are more personalized and responsive to each and
shopping becomes more enjoyable and seems less arduous. To obtain customer satisfaction, Tesco
has put in place in its stores the following technologies:

The World A More Eco Friendly Environment
The society we live in today, has made efforts to make the world a more eco friendly environment.
For the most part, different industries have made a push to better the ecosystem. The oil industry
developed a clean fuel refinery, a design to eliminate or minimize solid waste. The automotive
industry has promoted cars that are fueled by power instead of gas, to decrease pollution, and the
manufacturing industry has gone green by developing new equipment that uses less energy. It is
almost as if going green has become trendy . Our society made it clear to corporate America that
living in a more environmentally sound world was important to them. In 2014 it was noted that an
estimated 17 to 20% of water contamination came from areas of the fashion industry, and that the
fashion industry, is the 2nd most polluting industry in the world. Who would have thought that the
clothes we wear had such a colossal impact on the environmentthat surrounds us? However, just
like the oil, automotive and manufacturing industry, the apparel industry is continuing to make
progress in creating greener fashion. Social responsibilityis the concept that drives industry s steps
towards a healthier environment. It is the ethical frame work that proposes that an organization
needs to be accountable for any action that affects society at large. It is the responsibility that

Mersault s The Stranger
It is the beginning of the book. We know nothing of the plot that is to come, nothing of the narrator

introducing himself, or with a description of the setting, but instead it began with the following
quote: Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, I don t know. I got a telegram from the home:
Mother deceased. Funeral tomorrow. Faithfully ours. That doesn t mean anything. Maybe it was
yesterday.
And that is how The Stranger begins, and Mersault is introduced. This line manages to summarize a
large portion of Mersault s personality in a minimal amount of words. Mersault expresses that the
telegram doesn t mean anything, which at first seems absurd since it clearly informed him of his
mother s death. What is important to realize, is that this statement is in fact true, because Mersault
is focusing on when his mother died, not the fact that she passed away. Due to Mersault s distance
from his mother, both logistically and mentally, her death means nothing to Mersault. What he
seems to be interested in, is when she died. This is evident by the fact that he opens and closes the

Premarital Sex Greeley Summary
In Reverend Andrew Greeley s article Premarital Sex, he discusses the issues behind chastity and
promiscuity and how different generations view them. The thesis of this article was that the
Catholic Church s teachings were affected by the old fashioned, cultural belief that physical
virginity must be saved for marriage. Greeley s purpose of the article is to show the difference
between physical virginity and sexual love. The first argument that Greeley makes is that, although
a practiced norm in the Catholic culture, physical virginity is not part of the Catholic Christian
heritage. Greeley adds that the Catholics associated it with the practice that if the bride was a
virgin, it guaranteed that land and property was passed on the the rightful offspring.... Show more

Another argument that Greeley makes is that physical virginity is not the reason Catholics do not
engage in premarital sex, but their belief in human love. He makes the statement that the main
reason chastity should be practiced is because those who abstain from premarital sex are
committed to reflecting the presence of God in the world . The next argument that Greeley makes
is that young couples are taught not to have physical relations with each other until marriage.
They are taught that they can only hold hands and can only have quick kisses. Then when they do
get married, they are expected to, leap from a relationship in which there was no expressed passion
to one in which passion was totally expressed within the space of twenty four hours . Greeley adds
to this by saying that he would rather the Church teach these young couples, skills of generosity,
patience, and self sacrifice required for sustained human intimacy , instead of preventing them of
everything except hand holding and light kisses. I think that Greeley s arguments were very
effective and convincing. It opened my

The Need For Theory And Theorizing
2.2 THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK Obviously the topic of human is limitless. Its scope is so
diffused, broad and massive that we find it difficult to comprehend, think, examine and analyze.
In brief we need to wear some sort of scientific lenses by which we can catch the world of
observation in order to explain, predict and influence the course of actions. THE NEED FOR
THEORY AND THEORIZING According toKeIIy(1999, P. 18). Theory is a way of finding
together all together a multitude of facts so that one may comprehend them all at once . In a
similar vein, (Sharer Ashmore: 2002, P. 50) sees theory as a set of interrelated ideas about a
phenomena, which provides the framework for its explanation . (Jonathan,1997 P.10)
succinctly puts the issue in these terms. Theorizing can be viewed as the means by which the
intellectual activity known as science realizes it is three principal goals these include: (1) To
classify and organize events in the world so that they can be placed into perspectives. (2) To
explain the courses of past events and predict when, and events will occur and (3) To offer and
intuitively pleasing, sense of understanding why and how events should occur. Scholars have
advanced plethora of views and theories in a bid to provide an explanation of the wide ranging
multifaceted ideas of how social life is organized (KolIak: 1985, P. 223). On the other hand, a
theory is a set of ideas, which provides as explanation for something. This is in view of the fact that

Psychology Paper on My MotherВґs Student
Not everyone has the luxury of good health and a good home life. When someone has either bad
health, or a bad home life, there is plenty of pity to be felt; but when those two factors are
combined, it paints a whole new picture. It is important to do everything in one s power to help
them through the tough time and make it as painless as possible. That is exactly what I did in the
case of one of my mother s students. She was having back surgery due to severe scoliosis, while
also dealing with a mother who was addicted to painmedication. This girl was very worried that
after the surgery was over and she was sent home, she would not be able to take her medication,
fearing that her mother would take it for herself. When I heard that this student had asked my
mother to accompany her for her procedure in Kansas City, I saw this as a golden opportunity. I
could finally find out who this girl was that my mother was so caught up with, staying up at
night worrying about. I could finally understand who I was sharing my mother with, and why.
When I walked into the hospital room after her procedure, my mother s student was on a myriad
of powerful painkillers, much to her dismay. This girl was terrified of taking the medication,
because she did not want to end up like her mother. The girl s mother also had Scoliosis, and had
developed a dependency for her pain medication, leading up to her developing a tolerance for it
and taking her daughter s pills as well. My mother s

Mental Changes In Macbeth
In the play Macbeth, the main character s mental state due to the prophecy changes over time.
William Shakespeare portrays Macbeth as different figures though the play. And his main changes
are mostly caused by people around him and also himself hesitating. At the beginning the witches
said Fair is foul/and foul is fair (1/1/11), so even the prophecy seems positive to Macbeth,
everything has been established already. One of the main element of Macbeth s downfall is his
mentally weakness.
In Act one scene 3, when Macbeth and Banquo meet the three witches for the first time and knows
the first prophecy about Macbeth being the King, Macbeth was not excited about the fair news:

Reputation and interest has made Macbeth become ruthless. He could do anything in order to
achieve his goal. But still he is not as strong as Lady Macbeth, because of his instability, he
cannot bear this change in such a short time. He started to have the same delusion as he had when
Duncan died. When brains were out, the man would die,/ And there an end.But now they rise
again (3/4/95 96). Macbeth is consumed by his fear. When he sees Banquo s ghost, he has already
lost all sense of reason. Such a huge change in such a short time clearly shows the main reason that
causes Macbeth s downfall to the audience, in such a mental condition, he seems like another
person rather than the one who was intentionally to kill Banquo because of his

Dithos And Pathos In Advertising
In society today, consumers decisions for buying products is heavily influenced by the marketing
strategies created by advertiser. The first ad presented is advertising certified pre owned BMWs,
while the second ad is marketing Lincoln MKZs. The BMW ad is targeted towards middle class
people looking for a luxury vehicleat a decent price. The Lincoln, however, is directed towards
wealthy upper class people looking for a luxury vehicle. Although the advertisements are appealing
to two different audiences, they both utilize ethos and pathos in an attempt to reach potential
consumers. To understand how advertisers attempt to influence audiences to promote a certain idea
or purchase a specific item, an explanation of the rhetorical devices used would be helpful. For that
reason, the emotional appeal, pathos, focuses on invoking an audiences emotions using elements
such as humor, sympathy, hatred, or fear (Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz 28). In addition, ethos, the
character appeal, intends to persuade an audienceby establishing authority and credibility
(Lunsford and Ruszkiewicz 40). While there are more rhetorical devices, ethos and pathos are the
two that are prevalent in both advertisement videos. Both seem to attempt to gain trust and invoke
the audience to partake in a specific action. To go in depth and understand the ad, one needs to
know what it is exactly. The ad consists of a man meticulously cleaning his BMW. To set the scene,

Gait Variability And Fall Risk
Gait Variability and Fall Risk in Older Adults
Abdulrahman M. Aldahmashi University of Pittsburgh Motor Learning and Control of Movement
Dr. Susan Whitney November 2, 2014
Introduction
Falling is described as resting on the ground or the floor accidently without being caused by
intrinsic incident or tremendous hazard (Ayoubi Launay, 2014; Tuunainen, Rasku, Jäntti,
Pyykkö, 2014). It is also defined as unexpected, unintended, unprovoked alteration in body position
causing an individual to be in an inferior level and not resulted from internal disturbance (Menant,
Schoene, Sarofim, Lord, 2014).
Background Information
Fall is the major cause of injury in the elderly, which places more load on the health care system
(Krasovsky, Lamontagne, Feldman, Levin, 2014). Samuel D. Towne Jr. and his colleagues
conducted a study to calculate the cost of hospitalizing older people as a result of falling in
Texas Hospital. 77,086 fallers were hospitalized, costing around 3.1 billion dollars in 2011,
which is an increase of around 2 billion dollars since 2007 (Towne, Ory, Smith, 2014). Moreover,
fall directly causes 21,649 deaths and indirectly causes 5,402 deaths in the United States in 2010
(Stevens Rudd, 2014). Also, 420,000 individuals around the world die yearly because of falling
(Mignardot et al., 2014). Most falls in older adults take place during walking (Lee, Verghese,
Holtzer, Mahoney, Oh Park, 2014). Therefore, falls are related to gaitvariability

Notes on the Current State of the American Healthcare System
I. Introduction A. The current state of healthcare in the United States is in shambles. B. Recent
reform measures are trying to reduce premiums and extend coverage to Americans who need it,
but are being blocked by special interests and lobbying from staunchly opposing Republicans in
office. C. As such, the financial situation here in the United States in regards to healthcare is only
continuing to disadvantage millions as they wait for a resolution and reforms that have been
promised to them, sowing how a strong two tiered system with a foundation in government
sponsored universal care would benefit the United States dramatically. II. Current Chaos of the
Healthcare System A. Unfortunately today, healthcare costs are simply much to high for many
Americans to have access to affordable and good coverage. 1. The cost of healthcare in the
United States is now one of the most expensive out of countries from all over the world
(Enterprise News 2012). 2. This has resulted in over 50.7 million Americans who are currently
uninsured (Cooper 2011). B. Private healthcare continued to increase premiums in the last few
decades, which only further isolated good coverage from the majority of Americans. 1. Many of
these premiums are increasing because the current system is simply too costly. 2. Here, the research
shows that in many situations, healthcare professionals are urged to conduct unnecessary tests and
procedures in order to rack up the bill for insurance claims to then

INTRODUCTION Melbourne s Federation Square was a Victorian Government initiative that was
announced in 1996, with support from Melbourne City Council and the Commonwealth
Government. The initial projected cost of the structure was estimated at $110 million, with a
completion date of December 2000 (Matters of Public Interest 2003). The final estimated cost was
over $470 million, with the official opening occurring in October 2002, even though the
construction was not complete (Misiak 2003) (ABC 2003). Being such a high profile, exposed,
arduous project, there were many factors that contributed to the various shortfalls over the 6 year
timeframe. This report aims to identify key knowledge areas within project management and
discuss improvements that could have been made to streamline the task and improve overall
continuity.

Not Enough Supporting Research for Addiction in Free...
So what? After reading Bruce Alexander s and Stefa Shaler s essay Addiction in Free Markets ,
this would be the first reaction of many readers, as it was my reaction upon completion of the
essay. Although Alexander and Shaler discussed a very important issue concerning Addiction in
Free Markets , they do not provide sufficient resources or correlative research to prove their
argument. Firstly, their thesis statement does not agree with many of the facts and statements that
are being presented throughout the essay. Moreover, the essay sidetracks from what it is trying to
prove to other aspects in life that are not related with the topic, and the transition of paragraphs is
also not smooth. Also, the centuries of English and Native... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The we in this statement is ambiguous, and does not clearly define what vast majority group they
are referring to. Although a historical context can prove to be useful in many cases while reading a
piece of literature, in some cases it can prove to be quite wordy and unnecessary. Moreover, I
believe there are instances where phrases, such as ... must not be distorted by personal loyalties,
village or neighbourhood responsibilities, guild or union rights, charity, family obligations, ethnic
tastes and aversions, social rules, or religious values... (229) are just put in there for the sake of
saying something. That statement, as others in the opening paragraphs, does not have anything to
do with what the authors are trying to get across to the national body. Moving onwards, there is a
disassociation between the thesis and the arguments that support the thesis. While the thesis is
stating that an individual must ...find that they develop substitute lifestyles in order to endure
(230), and then further along stating that Canadian natives have the racial inability to control
alcohol (231); it almost seems that their issue is contradicting that statement. How can it be that an
inability to control alcohol is the same as developing a substitute lifestyle? On a similar note,
Alexander and Shaler state that the key to controlling addiction is maintaining a society in which
every member is included in a larger

The Methods That Are Used By The Standard Transactions
D The two methods that are used by the expert include the comparable transactions method, which
uses the multiples in the market to determine the value, and also the DCF method, which is used to
discount the future cash flows back to determine the current value of the shares. Different methods
have different strengths and weaknesses. According to Ross (2009), the comparable transaction
method is used and the strength is that it uses the historical actual transactions that are comparable
to the Woolworths transaction, so that the valuation is justified by the market conditions. In the
meantime, the weakness of the comparable transaction is that different transactions have different
companies involved and the transactions are conducted in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

For example, in the comparable transaction method, the expert uses the acquisition of Saks and
acquisition of Neiman Marcus as comparable transactions. The methods are correct, as both of
these are retailers. However, it is also important to realize the weakness, which is that these two
companies do not have exactly the same products as David James. Another weakness is that the
number of comparable transactions is too small and the multiples that are used for valuation
vary considerably, so that large discrepancies are generated. The DCF method is a useful
method. In this case the assumptions that are made in the DCF method are reasonable. The
DCF also includes many different scenarios that are used for valuation. However, one of the
major weaknesses of this is that the variation of valuation is very large. Therefore, it is
reasonable to believe that although both methods are good for valuation purposes, the
weaknesses generated could impact the accuracy of the results. The growth rate that is assumed
in the DCF valuation is 2.5%, which is reasonable. According to Ross (2009), the growth rate of
2.5% matches the long term growth rate of the Australian economy and therefore it is justified. As
the company keeps growing it would finally reaches its final status. In many situations the
company is able to grow as fast as the Australian economy is able to. Very few industries are able
to grow at a faster rate than the whole economy for very long periods of time. An important

on to the previously existing ones. While these problems are not like those found in The Jungle,
they do parallel how by exposing what is going on in the meatindustry; new regulations would be
the answer to the noted problems. The increased demand for meat has made it a rushed mutated

This is even more so if the hormones that were used to modify the meat for production have side

regulations not only of humans but of the animals that are in the business. The grounds for this
argument are the horrible conditions that animals are faced with that include medical

Persuasive Essay On Sexually Transmitted Disease
Something in life I never enjoy is role play. Something about it annoys me which makes it much
more difficult to do. Especially when writing out a conversation. Since I m going at it again I
will definitely be putting some thought into this, so here I go. If my partner asked me about
STDs, it wouldn t be just one question. I would expect to be bombarded with questions. If my
mysterious partner was to start it would be along the lines of I m starting to have certain
symptoms, should I be tested? I would then ask, what do you think you have? If an STD is a
possibility, there would be many more questions after that. She would then ask things like what
are the risks, do I have to get tested, what are the chances I have it? Well, there are many risks
when it comes to Sexually transmitted diseases. STDS range from harmless to dangerous,
temporary to permanent, and not contagious to contagious. You never have to get tested, but
never knowing is gambling with the quality of your life and maybe even others. If you do have
something that could be spread, the last thing you actually want to do is spread the disease. It is
always highly recommended that you be tested for sexually transmitted diseases every year.
Even when you aren t sexually active it is recommended that you get tested and if you are found
to have a serious disease, spreading the STD with knowledge of a diagnosis is punishable by
law and should never be done. Sexually transmitted diseases are easily passed between people
from contact and not just sexual contact either. They can be passed through blood and saliva
from intercourse, kissing, contact with blood in open wounds, sharing needles, or any other way
that could possibly bring bodily fluids into contact with your own body. So even if you are not
sexually active during that time or even if you have never had sex. It is always recommended to
be tested because you never know what you have come in contact with. She then would probably
ask me well how common are STDs and what STDs are most seen? I would say that sexually
transmitted diseases are very common among the population more common than one might think.

Some estimates say as low as 7% on a small loan amount or as high as 18% with larger loans from
private lenders. Credit scores can also have an impact like they do here in the United States. Paying
all cash upfront is simple, easy, and the norm in the past but financing is becoming more available.
Seller financing is very popular and works basically the same as it does here in the United
States. But there is also another type of seller financing called: Reserve of Domain. It is
typically used if the buyer has all the money to purchase the property, but it is tied up in assets
and isn t liquefiable at the time of sale. One example would be if the foreign buyer has the
money in an IRA and is only permitted to withdraw a small portion without being penalized. The
Reserve of Domain is easier and cheaper to set up than an ordinary mortgage. The buyer pays

Jane Jacob Research Paper
The best that can be said of the conception is that it did afford a chance to experiment with some
physical and social planning theories which did not pan out. This quote reflects Jane Jacob s
philosophical ideas in an attempt to criticize the social housing s design approach and its associated
urban planning in modern era. The physical and social theories outlines the urban planningidea of
social housing (Utopian idea) and according to Jane s statement, such experiment of these theories
were deem to be unsuccessful. It is inevitably certain to some extent that a provocative statement
towards modern era social housing approaches would hold true due to the minimal success the
plans brought to the city, such as solving the working class commendations temporarily.
Nevertheless, it is a failure to deliver long standing social improvements corresponded with the
increasing suspicion of modernism, one cannot simply attribute ill fate to its innovative physical
features (As Jane said, the Utopian and Utopia), but should rather considered a range of other
elements in the larger aspect of society: factors such as difficulty of racial integration, problems of
financing and management, lack of bridging between architecture and planning, as well as the
increasing preference of suburban lifestyle from the rising mid class. These problems reflected
evidently in some stereotypes of social housing communities built in the modern era such as Pruitt

Brecht, Bertolt. Mother Courage and Her Children. Jacobus, Lee A., eds. The Bedford Introduction
to Drama. Boston: Bedford/St. Martin s, 2009. Print.
One could say Brecht s play Mother Courage and Her Children is a tragedy with an anti war
message. It follows the tragic events that surround Mother Courage during the 30 years war.
Throughout the war, Mother Courage is trying to make a living through her cart. In the beginning
of the play, she has all three of her children with her in the cart. However, one by one they get
whisked away.
Mother Courage is promised a transaction in return for Eilif being recruited for the war. Three
years later Swiss Cheese is working as a regiment s paymaster. During the trip to return the
paybox he s captured and due to Mother Courage s negotiating he is shot. Mother Courage
refuses his body leaving him to be thrown into a pit. 17 years into the war the last of Mother
Courage s children is taken from her. Kattrin tries to wake the townspeople to prepare for an
ambush and is successful but gets shots in the process. This leaves Mother Courage and her cart,
alone.

Xenotransplantation Research Paper
What if we had the ability to produce organs for dying patients who need them? What if we could
save a life using a transplantation method to do so? What if animals were the key to saving their
lives? With xenotransplantation, doctors and medical researchers could have the ability to save
patients that are having organfailure. But what is it? Is it safe? How long have we known about it?
Is it ethical towards society? These are some questions that arise when hearing about
xenotransplantation. But by using animal to human xenotransplantation, researchers believe that
they can resolve the shortage of the donation of human organs. What is Xenotransplantation?

Many believe that the procedure is considered that this action is unethical as well as unacceptable

xenotransplantation is that it isn t natural and people who believe this is saying that researchers
are playing God by merging DNA from one species with another. These people believe in the
ethical theory of Natural Law , meaning that they believe that the nature is assumed to be rational,
as well as orderly (Morrison, Furlong). With this theory, they view xenotransplantation as unnatural
because it is taking something from an animal and using it for humans. It is messing with the

Stroop Interference
Abstract
Interference was examined using the numerical Stroop task as a way to quantify the effects of
conflicting stimuli. We hypothesized that it would take more time to complete a counting task than
it would take to complete a reading task. During this study participants attempted to process
incongruent and congruent stimuli while reporting the time it took to complete each task.
Processing the incongruent stimuli required that participants focus on counting the numbers while
fighting the inclination to read the numbers. The results showed that this active process produced
longer reaction times for the incongruent task. These findings suggest that interfering stimuli are in
competition with non automatic stimuli to produce verbal output. ... Show more content on

In his study using distractor words with similar meanings Finkbeiner (2006) saw that when these
words were masked there were obvious facilitating effects (Finkbeiner, 2006). Similarly, results
showed that during congruent conditions, congruent stimuli facilitate or improve performance on
the Stroop task so that the participant responds faster to congruent stimuli. However, despite its
apparent prevalence facilitation does not occur as much as interference (Brown, 2011). Previous
research demonstrated that interference and facilitation could be decoupled (McLeod, 1991). When
the condition using pseudohomophones (blue and bloo) was compared to incongruent conditions
there was interference for both conditions but no facilitation for the pseudohomophones (McLeod,

Examples Of Observation On Preschool Observation
For my observations for this class I was given the option of which grade levels that I wanted to
observe in. I choose to spend the majority of the time in Kindergarten and preschool class rooms
with the exception of one that I did in a Special Education class room that had all ages in one
room. The reason that I did this was simple, in the future my goal is to teach in preschool or
kindergarten. I have always wanted to work with the little ones that were just starting out in their
educationjourney and the joy they have as they master the simple things such as finally learning
all their alphabet or the very first time that they read a book. That joy is so wonderful to see and
to get the opportunity to not only be there to cheer them on, but to be the one sitting there that
taught them those skills that they need for the rest of their lives to succeed. I spent the majority
of the hours in Kindergarten, I observed different classes of children and also different activities
and different teachers with the same kids. I wanted to see how different the kids acted from their
original teacher, to how they responded with the music, art and gym teachers. Would they listen
to all of them as well? Follow teachers directions like they do in the classroom doing their
reading groups, math lessons or even regular class work like calendar time. What I found was the
kids acted different depending on where they were and who was in charge. They realized they

Coral Island Vs Lord Of The Flies
Reality of Human Nature In Lord of the Flies, William Golding shows a world of increasing
violence through the behavior of the characters, the setting of the novel, and the events occurring
throughout the story. Golding s Lord of the Flies was inspired by R.M. Ballantyne s Coral Island.
Both works involve boys stranded on a deserted island. Ballantyne s Coral Island portrays these
young boys as content, rational young boys, which is somewhat unrealistic. Golding wanted to
create a more lifelike version of events that might occur if several young boys were stranded on a
deserted island. Golding creates vivid scenes explaining the savage nature of humans, and just how
animalistic they can become. Increasingly violent behavior is displayed through four main
characters, Jack, Ralph, Simon,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

violence is when Jack kills his very first pig. Throughout the novel, Jack forms a tribe, that

dances they become increasingly violent, first beating Robert then killing Simon. The most
violent thing Jack and his tribe do is capture Samneric, torture them into revealing Ralph s hiding
spot, and then Jack hunts to kill Ralph. Jack, as a character, progresses from a civil boy of 12
years old to a torturous murderer. At the start of the novel, Simon and Ralph are both very shy and
civil little boys. Throughout the story, the boys struggle to communicate with other boys. Simon

Differences Between Divergent And The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games takes place in a post civil war country that has been divided into 12 districts.
Katniss Everdeen lives in district 12 and competes in the yearly Hunger Games. She is not given
a choice in this matter. Once she wins, she rebels against the government and fights to fix the
districts. Divergent, a series by Veronica Roth, is a failed Utopia where each person has to
choose which faction they want to be a part of for the rest of their life. Tris chooses Dauntless, and
then discovers she is Divergent, a rare trait that could lead to being disowned by her society. This
helps her to rebel against the governmentthat is controlling people in her faction.
While both The Hunger Games and Divergent are dystopian series with female leads that rebel and
lose family, in Divergent the characters have more choice in their destiny while in the Hunger
Games they live in fear of their future.
The Hunger Games, A book series by Suzanne Collins, differs in few ways from Veronica Roth s
Divergent. The Hunger Games lead role, Katniss Everdeen, lives in a world of few choices. The
government controls the lives of everybody in the 12 districts. When Katniss little sister, Primrose,
is chosen to fight in the annual Hunger Games, Katniss volunteers to take her place. She is forced
to fight and forced to kill, all to survive. This competition results in the people fearing not only their
government, but also their futures. Katniss becomes a symbol of rebellion against the

Generation And The Silent Generation
Society is inevitably divided by its inhabitants, as there is such a mass of individuals living
amongst one established society, that it is only plausible to recognize that there will be cultural
divides in its people throughout time. We are living in a world that is constantly changing. Due to
the changes we have to adapt ourselves to interacting with people from different generations. A
prime example would be the indifference between two major groups who exist in two different
mental complacencies: Older generationversus younger. It is very obvious that these two groups
have many differences; for instance, the Silent Generation came from a society much more
regimented and different than that of today s Millennial. Although the events of the older
generation lead up to the formation of today s society, part of the Silent Generation is still living in
our modernization, and this results in a societal conflict.
They had stronger opinions on traditional family matters, homosexuality was not widely accepted,
and neither was the idea of feminism. If you looked at the Millennial generation, the subject of
matter is that those ideals have vastly changed. Back in the early 1940s, fashion was much more
modest, the entertainment much more regulated in innocence, and the views of people were much
more close minded. If you were an inhabitant of that era, these environmental factors would
essentially shape your opinions, to a certain extent, of course but to the point that you

Pride In The Scarlet Ibis By James Hurst
Many times we think pride is a good thing. But, in this case it can hurt the ones you love. Webster
Dictionary s definition of pride is a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one s own
achievements. In this story, I will talk about one boy s pride that comes from the achievements of
his brother rather than him. Rather than celebrating the glory of his brother s achievements; he lets
the prideget to him and makes him act narcissistic.
In The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst, the narrator lets his pride and ambition ultimately destroy his
brother.
The Narrator has always had strong opinions on Doodle. Ever since the day Doodle was born,
the Narrator s pride was much too high for having Doodle as a brother saying, He was born when
I was six and was, from the outset, a disappointment. Not even giving his brother a chance to grow

family; he showed them that Doodle could walk. However, the family did not know what the
Narrators motives. The Narrator saying They did not know that I did it for myself; that pride,
whose slave I was, spoke to me louder than all their voices, and that Doodle walked only because
I was ashamed of having a crippled brother. The motives of this were not fair to Doodle, but the
outcome made everyone in the family delighted. Soon he had let the feeling of pride engulf him
turning it into something worse. I did not know then that pride is a wonderful, terrible thing, a seed
that bears two vines, life and death the Narrator said. Now instead of celebrating with his brother

  • 4. The Baroque Period Essay Music reached its peak of success between the 17th and 18th century. This time period is known as the Baroque period. Countless composers achieved immense success during this point in history, two of the most famous being, Johann Bach and George Frideric Handel. The first opera, oratorio, and cantata occurred during the Baroque period. Amazingly, most of the instruments used during the period, remain in use today. The Baroque period in music obviously played a tremendous role in the growth of music through its numerous successful composers and various types of instruments. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After years of lessons, Handel attended Halle University. Simultaneous to his father s death, Handel became a full time musician. Contributing significantly to the musical world, he is considered to this day as one of the best organists of all time. Over the course of his life, George Frideric Handel participated in over 50 operas, dramatic oratorios, and orchestras. The myriad of instruments used during the Baroque period are divided into four groups: brass, keyboards, strings, and winds. Included in the brass group are trumpets, horns, and sackbuts. The trumpet, originally made of bamboo or wood, was replaced by a shorter version in 1300 and later fashioned into the shape of an S in 1400. Continuing to evolve rapidly, the trumpet became formed, coiled into an elongated loop in 1500 and could be constructed in both brass and silver. In 1820, valves were added along the body of the trumpet, which changed the pitch of the music it played. Orchestral, or French horns, were first developed in 1650 in France and in the 1700s, the French hunting horn entered the orchestra. Like the trumpet, valves were added to the horn in the early 18th century. Although they are not the best known group of instruments, keyboards play a prominent role in the orchestra. The keyboard group includes organs and harpsichords. The organ is formulated of flue pipes, an air supply, and keys. Flue pipes are made of either metal or wood, and act like a whistle for the organ. • 5. The Silent Film Within Our Gates In 1920, Oscar Micheaux directed the silent film Within Our Gates which conducts an in depth examination of race relations and discrimination within the United States. One of the outcomes of the film is a blatant failure of justice resulting in the lynching of an African American couple, The Landrys. Seemingly, time has not altered the inherent absence of justice concerning the treatment of Black men and women in situations where criminal activity is suspected, legitimately or otherwise. Evidence is found with the killings of Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and many other Black victims who died at the hands of police who are tasked with upholding justice and fail to do so. However, what was the popular sentiment toward failure within the legal system between 1920 and 2015? While not representative of this entire time span, in 1962, Robert Mulligan s film To Kill a Mockingbird focuses on racerelations and an African Americanmale wrongly accused of rape who is ultimately killed in a suspicious police shooting. Within Our Gates and To Kill a Mockingbird each offer a presentation of a gross miscarriage of justice that is obvious to the omniscient viewer, but the reaction the films garner from the audience varies from outrage to resignation due to the implementation (or lack thereof) of a visual stimuli, telling of the time period in which the films were produced. The theme of a failure of justice for African Americans living in the present day United States dates ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Nell Vyse Research Paper The First Assistant From 1919, Vyse worked single handedly in his Cheyne Row studio. However, it soon became apparent to Vyse that he required a capable assistant to relieve him of minor studio chores. For instance, the making of secondary plaster moulds was a time consuming process, which Vyse felt he could not spare. Bertha White (1900 nd.) came to him with a recommendation from his former Art School in Hanley where she had studied modelling. She was aged about nineteen when she joined Vyse at Cheyne Row.16 In her later life, as Mrs Bertha Boydell (nee White), she corresponded with the writer J V G Mallet. • 8. Cannabis Is Too Long Essay If you accept our approach that cannabis is a living plant then you start to wonder how long your cannabis will last. Maybe some of you more robust consumers have never confronted the question but believe it or not, there are people whose buds last them a long time. So how long is too long? Under the right conditions, your buds can sustain for long periods. But there are a few rules to follow to get the most mileage you can. Temperature The thing about too much heat is that it degrades the trichomes on the cannabis bud and the trichomes are where most of the cannabinoids are held. Cannabinoids like THC and CBD provide the relaxation and symptomatic relief that cannabis consumers look for. Without them, the magic of the plant degrades somewhat. What is the ideal temperature for storing your cannabis? We know that molds and other organic matter thrive in temperatures between 77В° F and 86В° F so we want ... Tobacco humidors also use sponges that contain propylene glycol to regulate humidity and these can over humidify your cannabis. Light Storing your cannabis in direct sunlight will guarantee rapid degradation of the oils and cannabinoids in the plant. Not only do UV rays degrade the cannabis, but the light generates excessive heat. Your best bet is a cool, dark place. Keep the cannabis protected for maximum potency and freshness. Air Oxygen levels have a surprisingly dramatic impact on cannabis. If there is too little air and the cannabis is not completely dry when stored, it can create an environment of extremely high relative humidity. Too much air and the cannabis can dry out while other organic material may be introduced into the container. Devices exist to manage the air content in your storage container. • 9. Raft Of The Medusa And The World Is Too Much With Us Aishah Tasneem October 20, 2015 Muharram 7, 1437 Fareeda Abdur Rahman Romanticism Romanticism emerged in the 18th 19th centuries (primarily in opposition to Neo Classism) as a way to express, as Victor Hugo said, liberalism in literature. The Romantic way of thinking emphasized freedom from rules, and individuality. Many works of art and pieces of literature were made following this theme, among them the painting, Raft of the Medusa and the poem the The World is too Much with us . The Raft of the Medusa is a painting done by Theodore Gericault in the 1800s. It is modeled after the tragedy that was the shipwreck of the French naval frigate, MГ©duse, and it depicts the survivors who were adrift on the raft. The poem, The World is too much with us is a sonnet written by the Englishman William Wordsworth in 1802. The composition is a romantic and satirical piece criticizing the people of the modern world for their materialistic values and their disregarding of nature. Both of these works are the epitome of Romanticism, as they both highlight the focal points of Romantic thought; interest in the common man, strong senses and emotions, awe of nature, celebration of the individual, and the importance of imagination. The Romantics enjoy the struggle of the common man , and judging by the attire of the men on the Raft of the Medusa , they are peasants just poor, everyday guys. These men have been subjected to this terrible fate by the actions of those more fortunate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Confirmation In The 1910 Encyclical Quam Singulari Of... Confirmation is a sacrament that has become an enigma wrapped in a riddle that ends with an open ended question for teens all over the world. It has become an increasingly tough Sacrament to define and explain to those coming to the sacrament of choice. This book was chosen by most of us, not because of the size but because we have all been called upon to talk to confirmation classes and talking more intelligently and genuinely is what this generation is striving to receive. Since there is so much confusion over this sacrament it is imperative we try to live up to the exhortation in paragraph 59 of Sacrosanctum Concilium. It is therefore of the highest importance that the faithful should easily understand the sacramental signs (SC 59). Timothy Gabrielli s book is meant to give the thinking and theology behind how this sacrament has been shaped by the twentieth century culture. This book is meant to stir up conversation and understanding of the need for more priority from the church and its leaders in the celebration of this sacrament. The main idea running through this book is the 1910 encyclical Quam Singulari of Pius X as the stick of dynamite that blew up the sacrament order. It appears to me it was the light that illuminated the need for a change in the timing of first communion. The unforeseen consequence was the upheaval and confusion around Confirmation since it was not mentioned in the encyclical. The first chapter starts with the quote from the encyclical and ... This article looks to Colorado as an example of what kind of things could happen in Canada, such as a large tax revenue, saving tax revenue on prohibition, and using that money to help improve things such as schools in order to keep a positive aspect around it. I discovered this article through both google scholar and the business source complete section in the online library. I thought it would be a good article to help answer my question because it is a scholarly source that shows that the economic benefits occurring are already a cause for other countries to want to legalize ... • 21. Mersault s The Stranger It is the beginning of the book. We know nothing of the plot that is to come, nothing of the narrator Mersault, and nothing of his eventual demise. The Stranger could have begun with Mersault introducing himself, or with a description of the setting, but instead it began with the following quote: Maman died today. Or yesterday maybe, I don t know. I got a telegram from the home: Mother deceased. Funeral tomorrow. Faithfully ours. That doesn t mean anything. Maybe it was yesterday. And that is how The Stranger begins, and Mersault is introduced. This line manages to summarize a large portion of Mersault s personality in a minimal amount of words. Mersault expresses that the telegram doesn t mean anything, which at first seems absurd since it clearly informed him of his mother s death. What is important to realize, is that this statement is in fact true, because Mersault is focusing on when his mother died, not the fact that she passed away. Due to Mersault s distance from his mother, both logistically and mentally, her death means nothing to Mersault. What he seems to be interested in, is when she died. The thesis of this article was that the Catholic Church s teachings were affected by the old fashioned, cultural belief that physical virginity must be saved for marriage. Greeley s purpose of the article is to show the difference between physical virginity and sexual love. The first argument that Greeley makes is that, although a practiced norm in the Catholic culture, physical virginity is not part of the Catholic Christian heritage. Greeley adds that the Catholics associated it with the practice that if the bride was a virgin, it guaranteed that land and property was passed on the the rightful offspring.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another argument that Greeley makes is that physical virginity is not the reason Catholics do not engage in premarital sex, but their belief in human love. He makes the statement that the main reason chastity should be practiced is because those who abstain from premarital sex are committed to reflecting the presence of God in the world . The next argument that Greeley makes is that young couples are taught not to have physical relations with each other until marriage. They are taught that they can only hold hands and can only have quick kisses. Then when they do get married, they are expected to, leap from a relationship in which there was no expressed passion to one in which passion was totally expressed within the space of twenty four hours . Greeley adds to this by saying that he would rather the Church teach these young couples, skills of generosity, patience, and self sacrifice required for sustained human intimacy , instead of preventing them of everything except hand holding and light kisses. • 24. The Need For Theory And Theorizing 2.2 THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK Obviously the topic of human is limitless. Its scope is so diffused, broad and massive that we find it difficult to comprehend, think, examine and analyze. In brief we need to wear some sort of scientific lenses by which we can catch the world of observation in order to explain, predict and influence the course of actions. THE NEED FOR THEORY AND THEORIZING According toKeIIy(1999, P. 18). Theory is a way of finding together all together a multitude of facts so that one may comprehend them all at once . In a similar vein, (Sharer Ashmore: 2002, P. 50) sees theory as a set of interrelated ideas about a phenomena, which provides the framework for its explanation . (Jonathan,1997 P.10) succinctly puts the issue in these terms. Theorizing can be viewed as the means by which the intellectual activity known as science realizes it is three principal goals these include: (1) To classify and organize events in the world so that they can be placed into perspectives. (2) To explain the courses of past events and predict when, and events will occur and (3) To offer and intuitively pleasing, sense of understanding why and how events should occur. Scholars have advanced plethora of views and theories in a bid to provide an explanation of the wide ranging multifaceted ideas of how social life is organized (KolIak: 1985, P. 223). • 31. Gait Variability And Fall Risk Gait Variability and Fall Risk in Older Adults Abdulrahman M. Aldahmashi University of Pittsburgh Motor Learning and Control of Movement Dr. Susan Whitney November 2, 2014 Introduction Falling is described as resting on the ground or the floor accidently without being caused by intrinsic incident or tremendous hazard (Ayoubi Launay, 2014; Tuunainen, Rasku, JГ¤ntti, PyykkГ¶, 2014). It is also defined as unexpected, unintended, unprovoked alteration in body position causing an individual to be in an inferior level and not resulted from internal disturbance (Menant, Schoene, Sarofim, Lord, 2014). Background Information Fall is the major cause of injury in the elderly, which places more load on the health care system (Krasovsky, Lamontagne, Feldman, Levin, 2014). Samuel D. C. As such, the financial situation here in the United States in regards to healthcare is only continuing to disadvantage millions as they wait for a resolution and reforms that have been promised to them, sowing how a strong two tiered system with a foundation in government sponsored universal care would benefit the United States dramatically. The DCF method is a useful method. In this case the assumptions that are made in the DCF method are reasonable. The DCF also includes many different scenarios that are used for valuation. However, one of the major weaknesses of this is that the variation of valuation is very large. Therefore, it is reasonable to believe that although both methods are good for valuation purposes, the weaknesses generated could impact the accuracy of the results. The growth rate that is assumed in the DCF valuation is 2.5%, which is reasonable. According to Ross (2009), the growth rate of 2.5% matches the long term growth rate of the Australian economy and therefore it is justified. As the company keeps growing it would finally reaches its final status. In many situations the company is able to grow as fast as the Australian economy is able to. Especially when writing out a conversation. Since I m going at it again I will definitely be putting some thought into this, so here I go. If my partner asked me about STDs, it wouldn t be just one question. I would expect to be bombarded with questions. If my mysterious partner was to start it would be along the lines of I m starting to have certain symptoms, should I be tested? I would then ask, what do you think you have? If an STD is a possibility, there would be many more questions after that. She would then ask things like what are the risks, do I have to get tested, what are the chances I have it? Well, there are many risks when it comes to Sexually transmitted diseases. STDS range from harmless to dangerous, temporary to permanent, and not contagious to contagious. You never have to get tested, but never knowing is gambling with the quality of your life and maybe even others. If you do have something that could be spread, the last thing you actually want to do is spread the disease. It is always highly recommended that you be tested for sexually transmitted diseases every year. Even when you aren t sexually active it is recommended that you get tested and if you are found to have a serious disease, spreading the STD with knowledge of a diagnosis is punishable by law and should never be done. Sexually transmitted diseases are easily passed between people from contact and not just sexual contact either. They can be passed through blood and saliva from intercourse, kissing, contact with blood in open wounds, sharing needles, or any other way that could possibly bring bodily fluids into contact with your own body. So even if you are not sexually active during that time or even if you have never had sex. It is always recommended to be tested because you never know what you have come in contact with. Generation And The Silent Generation Society is inevitably divided by its inhabitants, as there is such a mass of individuals living amongst one established society, that it is only plausible to recognize that there will be cultural divides in its people throughout time. We are living in a world that is constantly changing. Due to the changes we have to adapt ourselves to interacting with people from different generations. A prime example would be the indifference between two major groups who exist in two different mental complacencies: Older generationversus younger. It is very obvious that these two groups have many differences; for instance, the Silent Generation came from a society much more regimented and different than that of today s Millennial. Although the events of the older generation lead up to the formation of today s society, part of the Silent Generation is still living in our modernization, and this results in a societal conflict. They had stronger opinions on traditional family matters, homosexuality was not widely accepted, and neither was the idea of feminism. If you looked at the Millennial generation, the subject of matter is that those ideals have vastly changed.
