5 Types of Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy There are different types of therapies, but the 5 types of therapies that I have
chosen are as follows: Sport therapy Impotency: New Therapy Chest physical therapy Burner
syndrome Osteoarthritis of the Knee Sport therapy: Today in sports athletes bear many mental and
physical obstructions from there competitive environment. Negative belief and psychological
pressure from spirited moments; create many interruptions for athletes who do not focus mental
pictures in their minds. A bright picture is one that allows individuals to see stress and negative
belief as a challenge, rather than an intimidation. Psychologists assist athletes in coping with many
obstructions that might occur, so that when they get in a pressured predicament, they can react
rapidly to the situation. Psychological pressure has a main effect on athletes performance and
individual aptitude, rather than the physical state. Psychologist tries to set high principles for
athletes to uphold poise and discipline. Athletes must make forgoes, in which they have to follow
steps in order to complete these tasks: first, relax, and let your mindput back all the negative
feelings with positive ones. Secondly, gain knowledge from mistakes and make adjustments. To
achieve last physical performance it is essential for one s mind and body work in tandem. The
mind is a message center that permits the body to achieve whatsoever it wants. Coaches and
psychologists believe your mind concludes, how fast,

The Brave Sister in In the Time of the Butterflies by...
Minerva Mirabal was a heroine because she was brave. Minerva Mirabal is a heroine from the book
In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez. There were four
Mirabal sisters, Patria, Dede, Minerva, and Maria Teresa. The Mirabal sisters stood up for what
was right even if it was against the dictator, Trujillo. Patria, Minerva, and
Maria Teresa were killed by Trujillo s orders, leaving Dede as the only surviving
Mirabal sister. Minerva Mirabal was a heroine because she stood up for what she believed in, she
was outspoken, and she was the bravest sister.

She was a hero to Sinita. Minerva announced, My hands freed, I saved the day, according to what
Sinita had said later. (Alvarez 22)
Minerva was outspoken at the performance at her school and kept Sinita from getting in a lot of
trouble. Minerva argued, I m not interested in admirers until I have my law degree. (Alvarez 66)
Minerva was independent and did not care what anyone else thought. She cared about her
education and was outspoken because she knew what she wanted to do. To be outspoken and stand
up you must also be brave.
Minerva was a heroine because she was the bravest sister. Minerva is hearing
Sinita s story about Trujillo and she can hardly bear it, I started crying, but I pinched my arms to
stop. I had to be brave for Sinita. (Alvarez 17) She tried to be there for other people and listen to
their problems no matter how hard it was for her. Minerva explained the story of Trujillo
dancing with her, He yanks me by the wrist, thrusting his pelvis at me in a vulgar way, and I can
see my hand in an endless slow motion rise a mind all its own and come down on the astonished,
made up face. (Alvarez 67) Minerva did not like the way Trujillo was treating her, and instead of
bowing down to his authority, she stood up for herself, which took courage.
Minerva convinced herself to take a risk, But I m so sure I can beat him now that I know his secret.
I ll toss, I say, my voice shaking. (Alvarez 76) Minerva took risks to get

Controversial Themes In American History X
The 1998 movie American History X was a controversial American crime/drama film written by
David McKenna and directed by six time Grammy nominated music video director Tony kayne.
The film American History X was kayne s feature film debut , and showcased all of kayne s
trademarks; often filled with self hated and regret, trying to atone for the past failures, use of
flashbacks , often tackle controversial social themes and films scenes in black and white. ( Tony
Kaye Biography IMDb, n.d.) The filmwas portrayed as an inside look into the Aryan Brotherhood
and the social dysfunctions surrounding the ideology. Kayne disowned the final cut of American

affiliation with the Neo Nazi skinheads. Danny s brother Derek was recently released from prison
after servicing three years for murdering two black men. Sweeney tells Danny to Analyze and
interpret all the events surrounding Derek s incarceration. How the events helped shape your
present perspective concerning life in contemporary America; the impact on your life, and your

Management Accounting And Control Systems Essay
In the last 20 years, the business environment has changed dramatically with the widespread
adoption of the internet and other massive technological advances, it has been argued that with this
new and volatile environment that management accounting and control systems are more important
than ever to deal with the changing times. In this essay we will discuss whether management
accounting and control systems are important in the new business environment, major changes to
the business environment and how they have changed the role of management accounting and
control systems, and finally we will study an organisation and recent changes that have affected its
business environment.
If we look at the definition of management accounting, it states that management accounting is a
process that helps managers make informed decisions by creating planning and performance
management systems that help to control a business and guide it to identify and realise the
businesses strategy (Institute of Management Accounants, 2008). With new technology being
created over the last 20 years, it is clear that business environments have changed wildly and will
require managers to make very vital decisions regarding the operation of a business in order to
succeed in the new environment. For example, the structure of organisations all around the world
have moved to a more decentralised structure compared to the classical hierarchal structure
(Chenhall Morris, 1986), this means there is more

Analysis Of Compensation Equity Is Very Popular Right Now
The topic of compensation equity is very popular right now. Concerns about gender pay gap,
CEO pay ratio, and pay satisfaction as it relates to employee performance are especially prevalent.
For this discussion we will focus on the ethical implications of CEO pay ratio but in order to do
this we must first define compensation.
Often CEO compensation is comprised of cash salary, bonuses, stocks, options, etc. It is not unusual
for companies to have requirements about the percentage of the CEO total compensation that must
be held in stocks in an attempt to incentivize good performance. The required company investment
may have other limitations such as restrictions on when stocks can be purchased and sold (Core
and Guay 2010). This is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If all employees earned satisfactory wages, the pay ratio would decrease.
According to Henderson and Fredrickson (2001), it is necessary to distinguish between economic
views and behavioral views that embody various pay gap theories. Economic perspectives
emphasize competition while behavioral perspectives emphasize cooperation (p. 97). Relative
deprivation theory states that when lower level employees feel like they are receiving less than
they deserve, it can lead to adverse behavior (p. 97). Tournament theory proposes that CEO pay
gap promotes competition and the gap between successive ranks increases with hierarchical level
(p. 99). This theory relies on strong incentives to justify pay gap and encourage positive behavior
from employees, however, this approach favors the individual so for organizations that require
coordination and cooperation, this can elicit self serving behavior. When collaboration is vital to an
organization, the allocation preference theory proposes that pay is distributed relatively equally to
maintain social harmony and discourage destructive employee behavior (p. 98). Another key
consideration is how dominant cultural values impact organizational structure. According to Tosi
and Greckhamer (2004) national cultures emerge from a broad set of forces which results in a
dominant cultural value set and is

The Mass Medi The Failure Of The Mass Media
The general population consists of seven billion people across the earth. The majority of the
individuals partake in receiving knowledge from those whose job it is to relay pertinent day to day
information to the general public. This minority is known as the mass media, and it is much larger
than simply journalism. The mass mediais the newspaper, television, Video games, novels,
textbooks, and social media. Essentially any medium that is consumed excessively by the
majority public is known as a mass media. The most important of the mass media s is journalism
and reporting; the relaying of information from the reporters to the population. For years,
controversy was a serious part of the debate for what could not be shown, what could be, how far
journalists are allowed to go to get their information. Then, the SPJ: Code of Ethics emerged,
giving guidelines for journalists and reporters on how to seize, utilize, and properly report on
subjects at hand. However, journalists and reporters time and time again have deserted their code
of conduct. For instance, the New Republic s Stephen Glass did this via bypassing fact checkers
and creating fictitious news stories. This led to the downfall of the New Republic s reputation,
along with ending the career of Stephen Glass. Though the exact same is not being done with
reporting politics, their use of power has become an arbitrary system, where they decide what suits
their own political standing and showing the information in such a

Behavioral Variation Paper
Pepperberg, Snowdon, Shelton, Martins and Burghardt (2017), went over behavioral variation,
adaptation and evolution among individual organisms. Individual animals behave differently from
each other for extrinsic reasons, and this behavioral variation is the raw substrate for evolutionary
change. Behavioral variation can both enhance and constrain long term evolution, and it provides
the basic materials on which natural and sexual selection can act. A rich body of historical
experimental and conceptual foundations precedes many of the topics discussed. This classic
literature is vast and important, and we encourage the reader to examine it in detail because we
discuss more recent literature. For example, the study of the mechanisms that underlie... Show more

Similarly, the study of individual differences has a rich history situated in the areas of behavioral
genetics, sociobiology, behavioral ecology, developmental psychology, personality theory, and
studies of learning and cognition. Each area has its own goals, associated techniques, and levels of
explanation. The study of behavioral variation during early development, for instance, has been
documented primarily by psychologists studying proximate mechanisms in laboratory animal
models, whereas the study of different adult morphs using the adaptationist perspective has been
dominated by behavioral ecologists examining natural populations. A more complete description of
individual differences requires an integrative study of the mechanisms that guide intraindividual
flexibility and the associated adaptive fine tuning of behavioral types. It is through this integration
that researchers can make predictions about the response of different individual phenotypes, groups,
populations, and species to novel

The Political And Social Changes Of Canada During Post Wwii
Tensions between the linguistic divide in Canada during post WWII would set into place long
term political and social changes for generations to onward. The up rise in support of
Quebec nationalism began to pose significant challenges to Canadian confederation following the
October crisis of 1970. It is proposed the events that occurred during the October Crisis solidified
the separatist efforts of the Parti QuГ©bГ©cois and later contributed to a referendum question on
Quebec nationalism in 1980. In looking to establish the long term effects of how
Quebec s separatist efforts sense 1970 sought to change the political and social atmosphere of

To begin, this paper will first address the causation of the 1970 October Crisis and the origins of
Quebec autonomy through separation. Going back to the election of Jean Lesage and the Quiet
Revolution in 1960 s, it marked a period in which provincial autonomy would inspire nationalism.
Elected under the phrase It s time for a change , Jean Lesage would implement an attitude of high
modernism that saw the secularization of industry, education and healthcare. By extension of the
high modernist attitude, projects such as the nationalization of Quebec Hydro also saw the
construction of large scale projects furthering provincial autonomy through job creation and wealth.
The Hydro Quebec project under Minister Rene Levesque would become an important symbol in
QuГ©bec by showing the ingenuity of the QuГ©bГ©cois to complete such an ambitious project .
Through the strengthening of a QuГ©bГ©cois identity during the Quiet
Revolution,iIt would further motivate existing nationalist organizations to push the provincial
government for greater independence. Separatist groups such as the Ralliement National, CSN and
Front de Liberation du QuГ©bec began as municipal and grassroots organizations advocating for
greater provincial autonomy through separation. These separatist groups were also driven by a
suppression of French identity by an English minority in the province, issues of economic
inequality and bilingualism further motivated francophone

Positive Impact Of Christopher Columbus Discoveries
Positive Impact of Christopher Columbus Discoveries
The world is a better place because of Christopher Columbus important discoveries in the New
World. His explorations resulted in the vast expansion of property for Europe, the exchange of
goods and cultures between countries and a change in the worldview of geography. Columbus s
explorations were the catalyst for unprecedented trade known as the Columbian Exchange, which
started the exchange of goods and ideas that would last for centuries and change the world forever.
His discoveries unearthed new perspectives and created a mix of diverse biology between Europe
and the New World. These exchanges changed the world we live in today and will continue to fuel
centuries of exploration and discoveries. The Columbian Exchange was the beginning of the
expansion of trade between the New World and Europe. The Columbian Exchange started the flow
of goods between continents that had not shared the same borders since Pangaea. McNeill stated
Columbus voyage, along with the many voyages that followed, disrupted much of the biological
segregation brought about by continental drift. (McNeil, 1). Journalist Charles Mann states in his
research for his book, 1493: Uncovering the New World Columbus Created, on the Columbian
Exchange that No other person, changed the face of the Earth as radically as Columbus did.
Columbus crossing of the Atlantic, Mann says, marked the start of a new age, not only for the
Americas but also

My Future As A Military Officer And My Current Life At The...
This particular lesson I felt was extremely applicable to both my future as a military officer and
my current life at the academy. This reading focuses on conflict among members in an
organization. The reading describes common issues that lead to unhealthy conflict and how to
avoid those issues. Conflict is seen as a good thing in organizations as it creates a more complete
understanding of the choices, it creates a better range or options, and ultimately allows for effective
decisions making. However, it needs to be effectively managed to have a successful organization.
Conflictcan sometimes turn unproductive, as comments can be interpreted as personal attacks.
The reading offers six tactics for managing interpersonal conflict. Of these six, I see the idea of
focus on the facts as the most important. This tactic states that the more information that one can
provide to a situation, the less likely conflicting viewpoints will be seen as personal attacks. This
is especially true when data is objective and up to date, as numbers do not lie and they are hard to
argue. I see this often at the academy when discussing possible changes in policy. Especially in
situations that involve many cadets. Often, discussions are very opinion based with little factual
information because cadets often do not have access to it. Because of this, these discussions often
become a pointless debate. I could make the assumption that this happens in an operational Air
Force setting as well. In

The Relationship Between Jane And Laney
About four or so months ago a past friend of mine s younger sister came to me to talk. Though
her older sister and I don t talk anymore for obvious reasons, I d rather not and won t be
mentioning. For the purpose of this essay, I won t be mentioning their actual names instead we ll
refer to the older sister as Jane and the younger sister as Dawn. Dawn came to me to talk about
concerns she had for Jane. She also came to talk about issues that were going on in her life.
Dawn was going through an abundance of problematic situations. She talked about how her
divorced parents were behaving, specifically her father. They have joint custody of her. Jane is
living with their father while dawn is living with their mother and visits her father s house every
other weekend. She talked about how it was tough for her because she genuinely missed her
sister, and didn t get to visit with her much. She also mentioned that when she did, her sister was
always with a girl we ll call Laney. Laney was living with Jane and their father. Laney was the last
person that family needed to be staying with them. She a pretty lousy person to be completely
honest with you. She s a thief and a former addict; thankfully she s clean now. However, back then
she was far from it. Laney was plain trouble for that family. ... Show more content on

her sister. She could smell the cigarette smoke that lingered in Jane s room, on her clothes, and
on her breath. She d also say they seem out of it and that worried her more. Their father was close

Essay on Cole Porter
Musical theater has been filled with countless talented composers. The amount of talent in the
theater world is endless, but only few composers gain iconic status. The Gershwins, Rogers
Hammerstein, and Stephen Sondheim come to mind when thinking of the pinnacle of composing.
One other man who deserves his permanent place with these others would be Cole Porter. Porter s
extensive library of songs has become classics along with a series of hit musicals that are still
done in high mass today. Porter had his share of incredibly tough times, and it simply only makes
his rise to the top even more impressive. Cole Porter is without a doubt one of the best composers

Porter reintroduced himself in 1928 with the musical Paris. This musical contained what is
considered to be one of his best list songs, Let s Do It (Let s Fall In Love . For the next few
years, Porter was constantly writing for huge shows and revues and was finally regaining his
credibility as a writer. His peak of this time would come in 1934 with the timeless musical
Anything Goes. Anything Goes is considered by many to be the greatest score of this period
(and many people would say it is Porter s greatest ever as well). The original Off Broadway
incarceration would go on to be revived several times on Broadway, winning many awards in the
process. In addition to Broadway and theater, Cole also was constantly writing for Hollywood at
the time as well. These scores included scores for Born to Dance in 1936, featuring You d Be So
Easy to Love and I ve Got You Under My Skin , and Rosalie in 1937, featuring In the Still of the
Night . Porter was once again living a life of luxury and happiness, constantly throwing parties
and being in the presence of celebrities. It seemed as though Cole was on top again, until a tragic
riding accident in 1937 crushed both of his legs, leaving him largely crippled. Porter would
undergo over 30 surgeries on his legs, and remained in pain for the remainder of his life. The
pressures of the accident led

Happy Life Essay
A Happy Life That I Once Thought Was Impossible
I believe that an ideal life is mostly based on happiness. It took me a while to discover what
truely makes me happy because in my childhood, I perceived happiness as something
unreachable by mankind. Especially, because of my struggle. We live in a world of so much
problems and crisis. And. . . I come from a place that s full of it Africa. If we think of it, real
happiness doesn t come to us in an easy way. I agree with Tzu s definition of happiness in his
book: a desire or a fortune that remains eternity. According to Tzu, happiness is a fortune just as
wealth and fame. Just to be honest, I had once thought that an everlasting happiness I
unattainable. But, that was before I discovered that self satisfaction and contentment results in a
happier life. I achieved my happiness after I went through some situations and circumstances
that hit my life for good. Before I share my story, I d like to make a salient point that God is the
bedrock of the overflowing fountain of happiness that prevails in my life. Through prayer and
hard work I achieved an indescribable life of so many blessings and it all happened in the year 2014.
Just like I said, the year 2014 was a blessed year of my life. God gave me an opportunity to live a
life full of so much fulfilment and happiness. During that year, I was able to overcome a lot of
circumstances. For a long time I had hoped for things to get better after I lost my dad. Things

What Are The Dangers Of Carbon Dioxide
The Dangers of Carbon Dioxide
Thesis: As the environment encounters damage from increasing levels of carbon dioxide, actions
on both governmental and individual levels need to be implemented in order to protect the welfare
of future life.
Introduction
In an era of rising technology and increasing population, demands on the environment are
continually being pushed to new levels. As a result, it becomes important for us to expand our
knowledge about the environment and take appropriate actions to protect this element of most
importance to human existence. One component of our environment experiencing some of the
greatest abuse due to humans is the air. Air pollution has been on the rise ever since the beginning of

Some of the major greenhouse gases excluding water vapor are: carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous
oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons. Of these, CO2 is the most important because of the vast amount
released by human activity. Before the Industrial Revolution, atmospheric concentrations of
carbon dioxide was 280 ppm; it has now risen to a level of 360 ppm today with an annual increase
of 2 ppm (Rising Carbon, 1992).
There are various consequences that may arise if significant global warming begins to take effect.
Some scientists believe that over the next 50 years, global temperatures could rise by as much as
1.5 4.5 degrees Celsius worldwide (Climate Change, 1997). Many speculate that this increase in
temperatures could produce profound, if not devastating effects to our environment and ourselves.
Already, many scientists are attributing some of the severe weather around the world such as
hurricanes, floods, and droughts to global warming (Bernard, 1993). The high latitude regions are
likely to have the largest temperature change, while regions such as the North American Great
Plains are predicted to feel a large decrease in precipitation (Climate Change, 1997). In regions with
a lowered precipitation rate, agriculture would suffer, potentially causing severe economic and food
shortage problems. Numerous species of plants and animals could also suffer, causing permanent
damage to ecosystems and biodiversity. It is also thought that because of

Life Changing Moment In Life
When reminiscing on my past I m able to recall the certain moments, which have led to a path
where I find myself at a cross road. Searching through the databases of my mind, I m reminded of
cherished memories, though I attempt to pinpoint the times in which I have been successful in my
decision making; I cannot help but deliberate whether my past conveyed such a challenging
decision. My futureis unpredictable, and my choices will decide my prolonged existence; positive
or negative I must act on them now, or else I will miss the train to my forthcoming. Through the
life changing moments, which led to my admiration for the ones close to me; I have found what
identifies me as an individual. Nonetheless, will it be enough for the rapid pace at which my future
emerges?
Life changing, it s a term to identify an event that will forever transform someone, and the life
they are currently living; sounds self explanatory, though it isn t such a simple phrase.
Considering the expression; life changing is watching a friend fight cancer, battling each day not
knowing if she will get better. Moreover, Parents who are combating a recession, struggling to
generate money with the profession they find themselves in; moving from house to house trying
to stay joyful to a child who may not identify the extent of the situation. Trails such as these have
caused my life to be significantly altered. However, these events are only a minor fraction of my
narrative. For instance, I ve helped lead a movement against bullying, being triumphant with the
results. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to represent my school at a World Leadership
Conference, being able to express heartache, happiness, and love to individuals, some who have
experienced horrible tragedies, was such an eye opening experience. These events in my life have
erupt a fire in my soul, and striving to build upon each situation will only be beneficial for my
future endeavors.
Reflecting these life changing moments, I come to a realization that not all memories are so
influential, but more of a comforting feeling. My family vacations to Walt Disney World helped
bring imagination and inspiration inside of a young boy s mind. Playing on my childhood play set

behavior. Punishment would be in the form of a rubber band that would be aggressively
snapped against my wrist immediately following the occurrence of the target behavior. I asked
my peers and family members to snap the band every time they hear me curse. Whenever I was
alone, I would be conscientious of my speech, as I was during the baseline observation period,
and administer the punishment myself upon each occurrence. In this instance, the pain I feel when
the rubber band is snapped against my skin is an unconditioned punisher. Every occurrence of
cursing was recorded right away. The treatment period started on March 27th and ended April 9th,
for a total of 14 days of treatment. Changes in the frequency of cursing occurred slowly for the
first few days. In fact, the amount of cursing had increased to 14 for the first day of treatment. As
can be seen on the graph, the first day had the highest

Implementation Of Canter s Behavior Management Plan
Implementation of Canter s Behavior Management Plan: Case Study
Tywon S. Thomas

Introduction: Case Study
There are many different misbehaviors that a teacher may encounter from his or her students if an
effective classroom management plan is not put in place at the beginning of a new school term or
year. Canter s assertive discipline is based mainly on fair rules and negative consequences (Ellis,
David W. 1995). The implementation of an effective plan will cut down on off task behaviors and
will make way for more time to be spent on promotion of a stimulating learning environment. There
are several behavior management plans from which educators can choose; the problem sometimes
comes in choosing one that fits well with the students in the class. Additionally, educators have to
remember that the same behavior management plan may not work from teacher to teacher, and
better yet, the plan which is suitable for their first period class, may not work well with students in
fourth period. After the narrowing down and tailoring process of finding a suitable plan to fit
individual classroom needs, then the key to making sure it is a great classroom management plan is
consistency which begins from the day the plan is implemented until the end of the school term.
During this case study, the Canter Behavior Management Method, also known as the Assertive
Discipline method, created by Lee and Marlene Canter, is used to assist a teacher, with a

What am I going to say? Hello, Mr. Martin. I m afraid I can t meet you in the hotel this afternoon.
Guess what! I have had a terrible twist of fate and have turned into a big, juicy vermin! And then

Through his dark eyes Gregor saw the couple petrified and wordless. They seemed too stun to

The Photographic Representation Of One Building
Many famous architects have had their architecture promoted using photographs carefully
constructed by a favourite photographer of theirs. Le Corbusier had Lucien HervГ©. The well
known American photographer, Julius Shulman produced iconic photography of the Stahl house or

We can clearly outline the beginning of their strong relationship through the first letter sent by
Corbusier, complementing HervГ©:
Not only your remarkable vision of my work makes it more complete, but you have the soul of an
architect and know exactly how to look at architecture. Corbusier (Voyatzis, 2015)
This outlines HervГ© eye that Corbusier picked up on. His use of Soul of an Architect explores that
connection between the two artists through the understanding of one another by the first glance;
after HervГ© photographed 650 of UnitГ© d Habitation, and sent them to Corbusier, it was the
search that Corbusier waited for, finally finding his photographer who shared and understood what
he needed. It this especial relationship between Corbusier and HervГ© that symbolised dependence

The symbiotic relationship between photographers and architects at the time had a lot more
meaning than just the photographers being used for marketing, (Redstone, 2014)

What Is The Purpose Of The Seven Samurai
Akira Kurosawa s The Seven Samurai (1954) is not only a great film in its own right, but the
source of a genre that would flow through the rest of the century. The critic Michael Jeck suggests
that this was the first film in which a team is assembled to carry out a mission an idea which gave
birth to its direct Hollywood remake, The Magnificent Seven, as well as The Guns of Navarone.
The Dirty Dozen, and countless later war, heist and caper movies. Since Kurosawa s samurai
adventure Yojimbo (1960) was remade as A Fistful of Dollars and essentially created the spaghetti
Western, and since this movie and Kurosawa s The Hidden Fortress inspired George Lucas Star
Wars series, it could be argued that this greatest of filmmakers gave employment to action heroes
for the next 50 years, just as a fallout from his primary purpose.
That purpose was to make a samurai movie that was anchored in ancient Japanese culture, and yet
argued for a flexible humanism in place of rigid traditions. One of the central truths of The Seven
Samurai is that the samurai and the villagers who hire them are of different castes, and must never
mix. Indeed, we learn that these villagers had earlier been hostile to samurai and one of them, even
now, hysterically fears that a samurai will make off with his daughter. Yet the bandits represent a
greater threat, and so the samurai are hired, valued and resented in about equal measure.
Why do they take the job? Why, for a handful of rice

A Brief Note On U.s. Unemployment Rate
Kaimeng Xing Analysis on U.S. Unemployment Rate Econ 2002.03H Nov. 9th, 2014 Since the
financial crisis in 2008, U.S. unemployment rate has been an issue of importance and public
concern. Why? Because the unemployment reflects current economic situation and people s well
being in general. In this analysis, I will briefly discuss the definition of unemployment and the
impact of high and persistent unemployment. Then I will analyze the trend of U.S. unemployment

Now it is clear to see why the unemployment rate has been closely monitored all the time, especially
at the time of crisis. The unemployment rate, after reaching its peak in October 2009, has been
declining slowly but steadily, as U.S firms keep adding more jobs to the market. There was a small
increase in unemployment rate in July this year (the Wall Street Journal, Aug 4th, 2014), but the
unemployment rate continues to fall in the following months, and finally in this September, it falls
to 5.9 percent, the first time it has been below 6 percent since July 2008 before the financial crisis
(The Huffington Post, Oct 3rd, 2014). In October, the employment continues to drop, reaching 5.8
percent at the end of the month (BBC, Nov. 2014). Most of people are excited about this falling
trend of the unemployment rate, believing that falling unemployment rate is a sign of economic
growth for the following reasons. First, according to the Federal Reserve, the natural rate of
unemployment in the United States is estimated to be 5.2 percent to 5.5 percent. Natural rate of
unemployment is unemployment that is inevitable in modern economy as people change their jobs
and industries emerge and fade away. Achieving the natural rate of unemployment is considered as
an indicator of a well functioning, healthy and efficient economy. An unemployment rate that is
approaching the natural rate of unemployment provides a strong argument of economic recovery.

The Unethical Behavior of Biegler and McCarthy in Anatomy...
After reviewing the two scenes from an Anatomy of a Murder and the Maryland Rules of
Professional Conduct, it s clear that Biegler and McCarthy behaved unethically; because he
disclosed client information without consent and he indirectly imposed what defense Lieutenant
Manion should plea. In the first scene, Biegler and McCarthy are discussing Biegler s first visit
with Mr. Manion and whether or not he was going to take the case; McCarthy also proposes
Biegler guide Mr.Manion into a defense. In the second scene, Biegler meets with Mr.Manion for
the second time and he indirectly guides him into a plea of insanity. In each of these scenes, several
Maryland Rules of Professional Conduct were violated such as: Maryland Rule 16 812 (1.6) (a),
Maryland Rule 16 812 (1.6) (5) (b), Maryland Rule 16 812 (8.4) (a), and Maryland Rule 16 812
(8.4) (c).
Based on Biegler s background as a lawyer, he should have known the rules about disclosing and
discussing information about a client s case. In the first scene between Biegler and McCarthy,
information about the representation of Lieutenant Manion was discussed and McCarthy
suggested that Biegler give Mr. Manion options for a defense. Biegler told McCarthy that he did
not coach Mr. Manion into a fake story and he gave his opinion of Mr.Manions character as being
insolent and hostile; hence the reason why he felt he was not fit to take the case. This discussion

Music Education And Emotional Intelligence
A great musician can successfully realize two critical aspects of music while performing, the
physical and abstract. While the technical requirements of such an endeavor can be aided through
direct musical instruction, in earlier stages of musical growth the emotional demands require
guidance by a teacher and self exploration from the participant. Once success in this area becomes
apparent, musical benefits emerge and the journey the individual undertook also helps shape their
emotional intelligence. By answering the question of how music education affects an individual s
emotional knowledge of music and themselves, it will become possible to see the benefits of
teaching music students with an emphasize on emotional learning. The first task requires the
establishing of a relationship between music education and emotional intelligence, then different
pedagogical techniques can be explored and gauged for their success in producing the desired
effects, all which will help draw the connections between both ideas. Here are the parameters that
will be used to guide the following discussion. The term music education is the teaching and
learning of music (Colwell). The term emotional intelligence , also know as EI or EQ, was
introduced by Daniel Goleman and colleagues and is defined as a person s ability to recognize
emotions, make a choice as to what emotions are appropriate for given circumstances, and then be
able to effectively communicate those emotions (Wood 168). In terms

Relation Between Gender And Infants
Researchers have hypothesized that the hormone that makes an infant a male also organizes the
brain in a masculine way. Studies have shown when testosterone is blocked in the developing fetus
then the male child engages in less rough and tumble play. If the brain plays a part in masculinizing
a male infant then one can obviously see that genderassignment before the child decides their
gender would not be the best treatment option. Studies have shown that boys as young as thirteen
months like to play with so called boy toys such as trucks and girls prefer dolls. Social interaction

Hester s scarlet letter is a piece of clothing, the SCARLET LETTER, so fantastically embroidered
and illuminated upon her bosom (Hawthorn 51). Her interpretation of the extremity of her sins
is one of self composure and calm. She views her sins solely as a violation in the natural order of
the environment and therefore cannot even perceive her sin as being evil except through outside
influence. Dimmesdale on the other hand, has a scarlet letter carved in his chest. This is
revealed when Dimmesdale was giving his revelation, in which he tore away the ministerial
band from before his breast. It was revealed! (Hawthorn 232). Dimmesdale s personal
interpretation as to the extremity of his own sins is a violation of God s law, which is the law
that he is totally dedicated to and supported by. Dimmesdale s interpretation of his sin is much
more severe than Hester s, it is a violation and direct contradiction of his own self consciousness
and physical existence. Therefore the appearance of his A, even though it is never directly
described in the novel, must be powerful, broken, and brutally dishonest (...a ghastly rapture;
Hawthorne pg.95). Since the Scarlet Letter on Hester is visible to the public, she was criticized
and looked down on. This women has brought shame upon us all, and ought to die (Hawthorn 49)

The city of Cape Town remains today a city of commercial trade, as trade is conducted through
the port in Cape Town to other countries around the world (Economy, 2011). Although many
people in South Africa still rely on subsistence agriculture to live, the majority of the South
African economy is commercial. They have a plentiful supply of natural resources, which enable
them to process those resources and trade them with the rest of the world in the free trade market

implemented by the elected National Party (South Africa, 2011). This meant that there was a
separate development of the African Americans and Caucasians, which favored the Caucasian
minority (Comaroff, 1997). The apartheid caused many economic problems such as poverty, a
lack of public transportation and a lack of economic empowerment among the disadvantaged
groups (South Africa, 2011). South Africa s economy also suffered major blows in 2007, when
there was an electricity crisis, and in 2009, from the global financial crisis. During this time South

An Overview Of Maximum Power Point Tracking
MPPT: An overview of Maximum Power Point Tracking
Only 30 to 40 percent of the incident solar irradiation converts into electrical energy by solar panel.
For improve the efficiency of the solar panel Maximum power point tracking technique is used,
which track the maximum power of solar panel.
The Maximum Power Point Tracking works on the impedance matching theory.
When the Thevenin impedance of the circuit (source impedance) matches with the load impedance
maximum power output of a circuit is obtain. this is according to maximum power transfer theorem.
Boost converter is connected to a solar panel in source side which is used in order to enhance the
output voltage that can be used for different applications.
Source impedance and load impedance can match by appropriately changing the duty cycle of the
boost converter.
Different MPPT techniques:
Few of the most popular techniques used to track the maximum power point is as below:
1) Perturb and Observe (hill climbing method) 2) Incremental Conductance method
3) Fractional short circuit current
4) Fractional open circuit voltage
5) Neural networks
6) Fuzzy logic
1.Perturb Observe:
In Perturb obserbe (P O) only one sensor is used that is voltage sensor which is used to sense the
PV array voltage.
The cost of this method is less and it is easy to implement. Time taken by this method is very less.

contentious. In the recent years, the family structure has continued to change. Many people in the
modern society have continued to change their attitudes when it comes to matters of marriage and
raising children. There are more single parents in the society today as a result of divorce and
separations. Consequently, this has contributed to an increase in the number of children brought up
by single parents. The current changes in family structure have become an issue of public concern
because of the effect it has on both the parents and children. It is evident that children who are
brought up by two biological parents do well as compared to children raised by single parents.
Biological parents in this case refer to married couples who relate to their children through blood
(Bachman et al., 2012). The single parent can be a biological father or mother who takes care of
the needs of his or her children. Two biological parents play an important role in providing the
children with necessary support during younger age by employing various parenting styles and
practices. Marriage is a social norm and the idea of raising children should be a combined effort of
both parents. Children raised by single parents lack good parental care and support which impact
on their lives years later. This paper discusses why two biological

Comparisons and Contrasts of Windows Ce, Windows Xp, and...
Introduction There has been an ongoing battle in recent years within the technology arena between
the relative merits of Microsoft s Windows versus the open source platforms, Linux being one of
them. Typically, discussions center around desktops or servers but an area often overlooked is
embedded systems. Examples of such systems are industrial machines, automobiles, medical
equipment, and specialized devices. With the growing ubiquity of smart devices, the device arena
offers action every bit as intense (LinuxDevices). Both Windows and Linux offer solutions for
specialized areas that include devices such as PDAs or handhelds, mobile phones, audio/video
applications, even robots. Even though Linux has become more unified under Open... Show more

XP Pro x64: Windows XPProfessional x64 (XP Pro x64) is XP Pro on steroids. XP x64 is based on
Windows Server 2003 and supports AMD s AMD64 64 bit extension of the Intel IA 32 architecture
and was released on April 25, 2005 (Wikipedia). One enticing feature of XP Pro x64 is its huge
memory support increase. XP Pro x64 is a 64 bit system rather than the standard 32 bit system of
XP Pro. This 64 bit architecture increases RAM memory limits from 4 gigabytes (GB) to 128 GB
and increases virtual memory from 4 GB to 16 terabytes (TB). System cache also makes a huge
jump from 1 GB to 1 TB. On paper, this would mean the ability to accomplish tasks unheard of
with 32 bit system, if not for some serious downsides. In some real world tests, the promise has
not lived up to the hype, at least not yet. In CNET tests, XP Pro x64 had in fact lower bench tests
when compared to XP Pro (32bit). Furthermore, according to users there exist many compatibility
issues due to lack of suitable drivers as older 32 bit drivers and services are not supported by 64 bit

Caesarean Scar Defect Essay
Sonographic evaluation of caesarean scar defects in speculation of obstetric and gynaecologic
sequelae
In the recent decade, there was a significant increase in the rate of caesarean section delivery,
either because of closer fetal monitoring during labour or because of availing the technology to
anticipate antepartum and intrapartum complications. The most common cause of elective
caesarean section is a previous caesarean section (CS). As the number of women with the
caesarean section is on the increase, the implications of caesarean section scar defects (CSD) are
looked into as cause for various clinical symptoms both in obstetrics and gynaecology. Many
studies were conducted on the sonographic evaluation of scar defects, and only a few ... Show more

The studies were conducted both on pregnant and nonpregnant women. The scar defects were
evaluated based on shape, size, and thickness of residual myometrium. In an unscarred, the lower
uterine segment (LUS) is viewed as three layered structure. The inner layer includes chorioamniotic
membrane and endometrial layer. Middle layer includes myometrium, and outer layer includes
peritoneal reflection and bladder wall (Cheung 2004). As the pregnancy progress, the LUS
develops and the layers changes in sonographic resolution. Myometrium becomes thinner gradually
and less distinguished later on in the pregnancy. Whereas in as scarred uterus different layers are
not well demarcated, the LUS is comparatively thin. It is considered as scar defect if there is a
window or defect in the myometrium. The CS scar was measured in two planes, transverse and
sagittal. In the sagittal plane, scar depth, width and residual myometrial thickness (RMT, between
hypoechoic indentation at the bottom of the scar to the hyperechoic line of the uterovesical fold)
measured and the length of the scar measured in the transverse plane (Naji 2012).
Gotoh H et al. (2000) have assessed the changes in LUS thickness from 19weeks to 39 weeks in
women with previous caesarean delivery (caesarean group) and compared with the LUS thickness
in nulliparous and multiparous women (control group). Serial measurements of the thickness of
LUS showed a steady

Dialectic of the Union Blockade during the Civil War
The Civil War in the United States from 1861 to 1865 serves as a dark reminder of how disjointed
a nation can become over issues that persistently cause heated debate among party factions. Most
students that have taken courses in American history understand the disadvantage possessed by the
Confederate States of America as they fought against the powerful Union army for what they
perceived as a necessary institution of slavery. Historians have debated over the effectiveness of
the blockade and if it was important in creating the failures faced by the Confederate States of
America. This debate has generated the contested question of Did the Union blockade succeed in
the American Civil War? The blockade, whether considered a success or an... Show more content on

The authors considered the psychological effect of the blockade to double as a mode of deterrence
when it came to blockade running. A presence of Union ships on the southern coast was enough to
deter Confederate ships from running through blockades and risk losing vessels of the small
Confederate navy (Bonner and McCord 378). In relation to the authors thesis, the presence of a
psychological effect forcing the southern populace to realize the consequences of the blockade, and
reduce the number of raiders attempting to breach the blockade.
Following the psychological assessment of the southern attitudes, the authors transition to the
initially reason for the blockade, crippling the southern economy. The blockade aided in the
Confederacy s deterioration, but was not the only source of prevention. The blockade led to the
collapse of the already fragile Confederate railroad, leading to a decrease in transporting goods to
soldiers (Bonner and McCord 381). The south was also limited in the amount of cotton it could
export to Europe, and with it being their largest source of income, greatly reduced clothing supplies,
and monetary assets (Bonner and McCord 381). Furthermore, the revenue that came from blockade
running paled in comparison to pre blockade profits. This led to the Confederacy only providing
immediate needs for the populace (Bonner and McCord 381). To continue with the economic
theme, the authors include a cost/benefit assessment completed by David Surdam, who

Similarities Between Cool Hand Luke And One Flew Over The...
Many situations can make a man lose his mind, or make him more insane. Between the movie
Cool Hand Luke and the novel One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest by Ken Kesey, sanity is
questioned. These two pieces of literature also question the jurisdiction and methods that take
place in prisons and mental wards. Both stories demonstrate the idea of strength, making your
own happiness, and the symbol of fear or punishment. In the novel, McMurphy represents
strength, for even his hands, Were thick and strong closing over mine, and my hand commenced
to feel peculiar and went to swelling up out there on my stick of an arm, like he was transmitting
his own blood into it. It rang with blood and power, (Kesey 25). He is seen as a symbol of strength

The first time that Luke tries to escape, he is caught and forced to wear a chain around his legs.
The same thing happens to him again when he tries to run away for a second, but instead of
wearing one chain around his legs, he is forced to wear two. The box also symbolizes fear in
Cool Hand Luke, for it is punishment for breaking the rules at the prison grounds. After each
attempt to escape Luke is thrown into the box for a couple of nights as well. The chains and the
box are used to instill fear in the prisoners, and it normally works but with a few exceptions like
Luke. No prisoner wants to spend the night alone in the box or walking around with their legs
tied together, so normally they behave and follow the rules. The box and the chains are in place
to do exactly that, for people with a criminal background cannot be trusted to do the right thing
on their own. Prisoners need a push to be led in the right direction, and in this case, the Captain
uses fear to keep the prisoners that work for him in line. He also uses people who act out, like
Luke, to set an example for the rest of the prisoners and show them what could happen to them and
make them fear

Spider Woman Research Paper
Spider Man and Spider Woman
In comic books, certain archetypes exist; the strong man, the detective, the magician, the hero, the
anti hero, and the villain just to name a few. Each major comic book company has their own
specific twists on them. Marvel Comics, in relation to its multiverse, has a specific archetype of a
spider totem. An individual imbued with the proportionate powers of a spider. Spiders within two
universes have become quite popular in the history of Marvel Comics, those being the Spider Man
of Earth 616 and Spider Woman of Earth 65. Their characters each have the same principles and
beliefs, but each stemming from different experiences. Peter Parker of Earth 616 was an above
average student at Midtown High in Queens. On an average day, Peter Parker would be picked on
and bullied. Until one day, he went alone to a science experiment involving radioactive material.

The sun hovered behind a pink haze that engulfed all of St. Louis that Indian summer of 1959.
The sun was a singular preoccupation with Betsey (BB 13). The sun is very close towards
Betsey, not in distance but in her feelings. She breezes with the sun at least once a week. And
this is the one thing that she always used to daydream about. Here we can see self realization
plays an important role because Betsey always used to think about herself. She just shakes her
sisters Sharon and Margot out of their beds and not even wishes them morning, she runs to the
back porch to see the sun which is a singular preoccupation with her. This shows her relationship
with her sisters that she is very close towards nature than with her siblings. But everyone in the
family loves Betsey because she is the oldest of four children. As an African American girl, she
always wants to be a blazing beam like a sun that symbolizes freedom. Even though she belongs
to the black middle class neighborhood, there is also some rules and restrictions in her family.
Betsey never follows the rules but she never shows up that she is not following the rules. The
description of the house shows Betsey individual thoughts and her experiences. From her house,
she can see the countless view of the sun. So, she runs to the terrace where she is not allowed to
stand to see the sun. Though it is dangerous, Betsey goes beyond her comfort zone to achieve the

Essay on Indoor Tanning and Cancer
Indoor Tanning and Cancer
Guaranteed brown, beautiful and golden skin in only a few tans! Indoor tanning promises and
creates a beautiful tan in only a few sessions. The result from this tan is dark and clear skin that
makes a person feel and look better. No wonder this craze is so popular. Who wouldn t want to
look like they just came back from the Caribbean with beautiful skin? I mean having tan skin does
make a person look better right? This question is obviously a personal opinion, but this new habit of
tanning indoors has become a growing concern. There are many long term effects to indoor tanning
that are harmful to a person. But most people do not understand this because the short term effects
are the most satisfying. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The basic component in tanning is ultraviolet light. Ultraviolet light, whether produced by a
tanning unit or by the sun, contains two components; UVA and UVB. These are the two types
of ultraviolet radiation that are known to negatively effect the skin. UVA has a longer
wavelength that causes photoaging and can produce some melanomas. UVB has a shorter
wavelength that also causes photoaging and has been implicated in skin cancers. Photoaging is
the premature aging or deep wrinkling of skin. Indoor tanning units utilize both forms of light
waves to tan a person with a minimized risk of sunburn. Tanning outdoors does not give you this
option because the sun omits every type of UV rays, so a person is more likely to burn. A
person s skin epidermis consists of two layers: The germinative layer and the horny layer. Another
name for the germinative layer is the living layer. And another name for the horny layer is the
dead layer. When exposed to ultraviolet light, melanocytes in the germinative layer produce
melanin that is absorbed by surrounding cells. Melanin is a dark pigment found in the pigment
bearing cells of the skin, and melanocytes are epidermal cells capable of synthesizing melanin.
This creates a protective barrier from ultraviolet light reaching deeper into the layers of the skin.
The pale pink melanin granules are stored in the core of keratin cells. UVA darkens the melanin,

Minerva Mirabal is a heroine from the book In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez. There were four Mirabal sisters, Patria, Dede, Minerva, and Maria Teresa. The Mirabal sisters stood up for what was right even if it was against the dictator, Trujillo. Patria, Minerva, and Maria Teresa were killed by Trujillo s orders, leaving Dede as the only surviving Mirabal sister. Minerva Mirabal was a heroine because she stood up for what she believed in, she was outspoken, and she was the bravest sister. Minerva was a heroine because she stood up for what she believed in. (Alvarez 66) Minerva was independent and did not care what anyone else thought. She cared about her education and was outspoken because she knew what she wanted to do. To be outspoken and stand up you must also be brave. Minerva was a heroine because she was the bravest sister. Minerva is hearing Sinita s story about Trujillo and she can hardly bear it, I started crying, but I pinched my arms to stop. I had to be brave for Sinita. (Alvarez 17) She tried to be there for other people and listen to their problems no matter how hard it was for her. Minerva explained the story of Trujillo dancing with her, He yanks me by the wrist, thrusting his pelvis at me in a vulgar way, and I can see my hand in an endless slow motion rise a mind all its own and come down on the astonished, made up face. (Alvarez 67) Minerva did not like the way Trujillo was treating her, and instead of bowing down to his authority, she stood up for herself, which took courage. • 5. Management Accounting And Control Systems Essay In the last 20 years, the business environment has changed dramatically with the widespread adoption of the internet and other massive technological advances, it has been argued that with this new and volatile environment that management accounting and control systems are more important than ever to deal with the changing times. In this essay we will discuss whether management accounting and control systems are important in the new business environment, major changes to the business environment and how they have changed the role of management accounting and control systems, and finally we will study an organisation and recent changes that have affected its business environment. If we look at the definition of management accounting, it states that management accounting is a process that helps managers make informed decisions by creating planning and performance management systems that help to control a business and guide it to identify and realise the businesses strategy (Institute of Management Accounants, 2008). With new technology being created over the last 20 years, it is clear that business environments have changed wildly and will require managers to make very vital decisions regarding the operation of a business in order to succeed in the new environment. For example, the structure of organisations all around the world have moved to a more decentralised structure compared to the classical hierarchal structure (Chenhall Morris, 1986), this means there is more ... • 6. Analysis Of Compensation Equity Is Very Popular Right Now The topic of compensation equity is very popular right now. Concerns about gender pay gap, CEO pay ratio, and pay satisfaction as it relates to employee performance are especially prevalent. For this discussion we will focus on the ethical implications of CEO pay ratio but in order to do this we must first define compensation. Often CEO compensation is comprised of cash salary, bonuses, stocks, options, etc. It is not unusual for companies to have requirements about the percentage of the CEO total compensation that must be held in stocks in an attempt to incentivize good performance. The required company investment may have other limitations such as restrictions on when stocks can be purchased and sold (Core and Guay 2010). This is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If all employees earned satisfactory wages, the pay ratio would decrease. According to Henderson and Fredrickson (2001), it is necessary to distinguish between economic views and behavioral views that embody various pay gap theories. Economic perspectives emphasize competition while behavioral perspectives emphasize cooperation (p. 97). Relative deprivation theory states that when lower level employees feel like they are receiving less than they deserve, it can lead to adverse behavior (p. 97). Tournament theory proposes that CEO pay gap promotes competition and the gap between successive ranks increases with hierarchical level (p. 99). This theory relies on strong incentives to justify pay gap and encourage positive behavior from employees, however, this approach favors the individual so for organizations that require coordination and cooperation, this can elicit self serving behavior. When collaboration is vital to an organization, the allocation preference theory proposes that pay is distributed relatively equally to maintain social harmony and discourage destructive employee behavior (p. 98). Another key consideration is how dominant cultural values impact organizational structure. According to Tosi and Greckhamer (2004) national cultures emerge from a broad set of forces which results in a dominant cultural value set and is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Mass Medi The Failure Of The Mass Media The general population consists of seven billion people across the earth. The majority of the individuals partake in receiving knowledge from those whose job it is to relay pertinent day to day information to the general public. This minority is known as the mass media, and it is much larger than simply journalism. The mass mediais the newspaper, television, Video games, novels, textbooks, and social media. Essentially any medium that is consumed excessively by the majority public is known as a mass media. The most important of the mass media s is journalism and reporting; the relaying of information from the reporters to the population. For years, controversy was a serious part of the debate for what could not be shown, what could be, how far journalists are allowed to go to get their information. Then, the SPJ: Code of Ethics emerged, giving guidelines for journalists and reporters on how to seize, utilize, and properly report on subjects at hand. However, journalists and reporters time and time again have deserted their code of conduct. For instance, the New Republic s Stephen Glass did this via bypassing fact checkers and creating fictitious news stories. This led to the downfall of the New Republic s reputation, along with ending the career of Stephen Glass. Though the exact same is not being done with reporting politics, their use of power has become an arbitrary system, where they decide what suits their own political standing and showing the information in such a ... Individual animals behave differently from each other for extrinsic reasons, and this behavioral variation is the raw substrate for evolutionary change. Behavioral variation can both enhance and constrain long term evolution, and it provides the basic materials on which natural and sexual selection can act. A rich body of historical experimental and conceptual foundations precedes many of the topics discussed. This classic literature is vast and important, and we encourage the reader to examine it in detail because we discuss more recent literature. For example, the study of the mechanisms that underlie... The study of behavioral variation during early development, for instance, has been documented primarily by psychologists studying proximate mechanisms in laboratory animal models, whereas the study of different adult morphs using the adaptationist perspective has been dominated by behavioral ecologists examining natural populations. A more complete description of individual differences requires an integrative study of the mechanisms that guide intraindividual flexibility and the associated adaptive fine tuning of behavioral types. The up rise in support of Quebec nationalism began to pose significant challenges to Canadian confederation following the October crisis of 1970. It is proposed the events that occurred during the October Crisis solidified the separatist efforts of the Parti QuГ©bГ©cois and later contributed to a referendum question on Quebec nationalism in 1980. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To begin, this paper will first address the causation of the 1970 October Crisis and the origins of Quebec autonomy through separation. Going back to the election of Jean Lesage and the Quiet Revolution in 1960 s, it marked a period in which provincial autonomy would inspire nationalism. Elected under the phrase It s time for a change , Jean Lesage would implement an attitude of high modernism that saw the secularization of industry, education and healthcare. By extension of the high modernist attitude, projects such as the nationalization of Quebec Hydro also saw the construction of large scale projects furthering provincial autonomy through job creation and wealth. The Hydro Quebec project under Minister Rene Levesque would become an important symbol in QuГ©bec by showing the ingenuity of the QuГ©bГ©cois to complete such an ambitious project . Through the strengthening of a QuГ©bГ©cois identity during the Quiet Revolution,iIt would further motivate existing nationalist organizations to push the provincial government for greater independence. Separatist groups such as the Ralliement National, CSN and Front de Liberation du QuГ©bec began as municipal and grassroots organizations advocating for greater provincial autonomy through separation. • 11. Positive Impact Of Christopher Columbus Discoveries Positive Impact of Christopher Columbus Discoveries The world is a better place because of Christopher Columbus important discoveries in the New World. His explorations resulted in the vast expansion of property for Europe, the exchange of goods and cultures between countries and a change in the worldview of geography. Columbus s explorations were the catalyst for unprecedented trade known as the Columbian Exchange, which started the exchange of goods and ideas that would last for centuries and change the world forever. His discoveries unearthed new perspectives and created a mix of diverse biology between Europe and the New World. These exchanges changed the world we live in today and will continue to fuel centuries of exploration and discoveries. The Columbian Exchange was the beginning of the expansion of trade between the New World and Europe. The Columbian Exchange started the flow of goods between continents that had not shared the same borders since Pangaea. McNeill stated Columbus voyage, along with the many voyages that followed, disrupted much of the biological segregation brought about by continental drift. (McNeil, 1). Journalist Charles Mann states in his research for his book, 1493: Uncovering the New World Columbus Created, on the Columbian Exchange that No other person, changed the face of the Earth as radically as Columbus did. • 12. My Future As A Military Officer And My Current Life At The... This particular lesson I felt was extremely applicable to both my future as a military officer and my current life at the academy. This reading focuses on conflict among members in an organization. The reading describes common issues that lead to unhealthy conflict and how to avoid those issues. Conflict is seen as a good thing in organizations as it creates a more complete understanding of the choices, it creates a better range or options, and ultimately allows for effective decisions making. However, it needs to be effectively managed to have a successful organization. Conflictcan sometimes turn unproductive, as comments can be interpreted as personal attacks. The reading offers six tactics for managing interpersonal conflict. Of these six, I see the idea of focus on the facts as the most important. This tactic states that the more information that one can provide to a situation, the less likely conflicting viewpoints will be seen as personal attacks. This is especially true when data is objective and up to date, as numbers do not lie and they are hard to argue. I see this often at the academy when discussing possible changes in policy. Especially in situations that involve many cadets. Often, discussions are very opinion based with little factual information because cadets often do not have access to it. Because of this, these discussions often become a pointless debate. I could make the assumption that this happens in an operational Air Force setting as well. In ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the purpose of this essay, I won t be mentioning their actual names instead we ll refer to the older sister as Jane and the younger sister as Dawn. Dawn came to me to talk about concerns she had for Jane. She also came to talk about issues that were going on in her life. Dawn was going through an abundance of problematic situations. She talked about how her divorced parents were behaving, specifically her father. They have joint custody of her. Jane is living with their father while dawn is living with their mother and visits her father s house every other weekend. She talked about how it was tough for her because she genuinely missed her sister, and didn t get to visit with her much. She also mentioned that when she did, her sister was always with a girl we ll call Laney. Laney was living with Jane and their father. • 14. Essay on Cole Porter Musical theater has been filled with countless talented composers. The amount of talent in the theater world is endless, but only few composers gain iconic status. The Gershwins, Rogers Hammerstein, and Stephen Sondheim come to mind when thinking of the pinnacle of composing. One other man who deserves his permanent place with these others would be Cole Porter. Porter s extensive library of songs has become classics along with a series of hit musicals that are still done in high mass today. Porter had his share of incredibly tough times, and it simply only makes his rise to the top even more impressive. Cole Porter is without a doubt one of the best composers to ever write for the stage in history. Cole Porter was born in Peru,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Porter reintroduced himself in 1928 with the musical Paris. This musical contained what is considered to be one of his best list songs, Let s Do It (Let s Fall In Love . For the next few years, Porter was constantly writing for huge shows and revues and was finally regaining his credibility as a writer. His peak of this time would come in 1934 with the timeless musical Anything Goes. Anything Goes is considered by many to be the greatest score of this period (and many people would say it is Porter s greatest ever as well). The original Off Broadway incarceration would go on to be revived several times on Broadway, winning many awards in the process. In addition to Broadway and theater, Cole also was constantly writing for Hollywood at the time as well. These scores included scores for Born to Dance in 1936, featuring You d Be So Easy to Love and I ve Got You Under My Skin , and Rosalie in 1937, featuring In the Still of the Night . • 15. Happy Life Essay A Happy Life That I Once Thought Was Impossible I believe that an ideal life is mostly based on happiness. It took me a while to discover what truely makes me happy because in my childhood, I perceived happiness as something unreachable by mankind. Especially, because of my struggle. We live in a world of so much problems and crisis. And. . . I come from a place that s full of it Africa. If we think of it, real happiness doesn t come to us in an easy way. I agree with Tzu s definition of happiness in his book: a desire or a fortune that remains eternity. According to Tzu, happiness is a fortune just as wealth and fame. Just to be honest, I had once thought that an everlasting happiness I unattainable. But, that was before I discovered that self satisfaction and contentment results in a happier life. I achieved my happiness after I went through some situations and circumstances that hit my life for good. Before I share my story, I d like to make a salient point that God is the bedrock of the overflowing fountain of happiness that prevails in my life. Through prayer and hard work I achieved an indescribable life of so many blessings and it all happened in the year 2014. Just like I said, the year 2014 was a blessed year of my life. God gave me an opportunity to live a life full of so much fulfilment and happiness. During that year, I was able to overcome a lot of circumstances. For a long time I had hoped for things to get better after I lost my dad. Things began to get ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction In an era of rising technology and increasing population, demands on the environment are continually being pushed to new levels. As a result, it becomes important for us to expand our knowledge about the environment and take appropriate actions to protect this element of most importance to human existence. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of the major greenhouse gases excluding water vapor are: carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and chlorofluorocarbons. Of these, CO2 is the most important because of the vast amount released by human activity. Before the Industrial Revolution, atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide was 280 ppm; it has now risen to a level of 360 ppm today with an annual increase of 2 ppm (Rising Carbon, 1992). There are various consequences that may arise if significant global warming begins to take effect. Some scientists believe that over the next 50 years, global temperatures could rise by as much as 1.5 4.5 degrees Celsius worldwide (Climate Change, 1997). Many speculate that this increase in temperatures could produce profound, if not devastating effects to our environment and ourselves. Already, many scientists are attributing some of the severe weather around the world such as hurricanes, floods, and droughts to global warming (Bernard, 1993). The high latitude regions are likely to have the largest temperature change, while regions such as the North American Great Plains are predicted to feel a large decrease in precipitation (Climate Change, 1997). In regions with a lowered precipitation rate, agriculture would suffer, potentially causing severe economic and food shortage problems. Numerous species of plants and animals could also suffer, causing permanent damage to ecosystems and biodiversity. It is also thought that because of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Searching through the databases of my mind, I m reminded of cherished memories, though I attempt to pinpoint the times in which I have been successful in my decision making; I cannot help but deliberate whether my past conveyed such a challenging decision. My futureis unpredictable, and my choices will decide my prolonged existence; positive or negative I must act on them now, or else I will miss the train to my forthcoming. Through the life changing moments, which led to my admiration for the ones close to me; I have found what identifies me as an individual. Nonetheless, will it be enough for the rapid pace at which my future emerges? Life changing, it s a term to identify an event that will forever transform someone, and the life they are currently living; sounds self explanatory, though it isn t such a simple phrase. Considering the expression; life changing is watching a friend fight cancer, battling each day not knowing if she will get better. Moreover, Parents who are combating a recession, struggling to generate money with the profession they find themselves in; moving from house to house trying to stay joyful to a child who may not identify the extent of the situation. For instance, I ve helped lead a movement against bullying, being triumphant with the results. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to represent my school at a World Leadership Conference, being able to express heartache, happiness, and love to individuals, some who have experienced horrible tragedies, was such an eye opening experience. These events in my life have erupt a fire in my soul, and striving to build upon each situation will only be beneficial for my future endeavors. A secondary goal, if the primary one is not met, is to decrease the frequency of cursing to 1 2 times max. I would be utilizing a positive punishment procedure to assist in the elimination of the target behavior. • 21. Implementation Of Canter s Behavior Management Plan Implementation of Canter s Behavior Management Plan: Case Study Tywon S. Thomas EDU 536 5/19/2014 Introduction: Case Study There are many different misbehaviors that a teacher may encounter from his or her students if an effective classroom management plan is not put in place at the beginning of a new school term or year. Canter s assertive discipline is based mainly on fair rules and negative consequences (Ellis, David W. 1995). The implementation of an effective plan will cut down on off task behaviors and will make way for more time to be spent on promotion of a stimulating learning environment. There are several behavior management plans from which educators can choose; the problem sometimes comes in choosing one that fits well with the students in the class. Additionally, educators have to remember that the same behavior management plan may not work from teacher to teacher, and better yet, the plan which is suitable for their first period class, may not work well with students in fourth period. After the narrowing down and tailoring process of finding a suitable plan to fit individual classroom needs, then the key to making sure it is a great classroom management plan is consistency which begins from the day the plan is implemented until the end of the school term. During this case study, the Canter Behavior Management Method, also known as the Assertive Discipline method, created by Lee and Marlene Canter, is used to assist a teacher, with a ... • 24. What Is The Purpose Of The Seven Samurai Akira Kurosawa s The Seven Samurai (1954) is not only a great film in its own right, but the source of a genre that would flow through the rest of the century. The critic Michael Jeck suggests that this was the first film in which a team is assembled to carry out a mission an idea which gave birth to its direct Hollywood remake, The Magnificent Seven, as well as The Guns of Navarone. The Dirty Dozen, and countless later war, heist and caper movies. Since Kurosawa s samurai adventure Yojimbo (1960) was remade as A Fistful of Dollars and essentially created the spaghetti Western, and since this movie and Kurosawa s The Hidden Fortress inspired George Lucas Star Wars series, it could be argued that this greatest of filmmakers gave employment to action heroes for the next 50 years, just as a fallout from his primary purpose. That purpose was to make a samurai movie that was anchored in ancient Japanese culture, and yet argued for a flexible humanism in place of rigid traditions. One of the central truths of The Seven Samurai is that the samurai and the villagers who hire them are of different castes, and must never mix. Indeed, we learn that these villagers had earlier been hostile to samurai and one of them, even now, hysterically fears that a samurai will make off with his daughter. Yet the bandits represent a greater threat, and so the samurai are hired, valued and resented in about equal measure. Why do they take the job? Why, for a handful of rice ... Now it is clear to see why the unemployment rate has been closely monitored all the time, especially at the time of crisis. The unemployment rate, after reaching its peak in October 2009, has been declining slowly but steadily, as U.S firms keep adding more jobs to the market. There was a small increase in unemployment rate in July this year (the Wall Street Journal, Aug 4th, 2014), but the unemployment rate continues to fall in the following months, and finally in this September, it falls to 5.9 percent, the first time it has been below 6 percent since July 2008 before the financial crisis (The Huffington Post, Oct 3rd, 2014). In October, the employment continues to drop, reaching 5.8 percent at the end of the month (BBC, Nov. 2014). Most of people are excited about this falling trend of the unemployment rate, believing that falling unemployment rate is a sign of economic growth for the following reasons. First, according to the Federal Reserve, the natural rate of unemployment in the United States is estimated to be 5.2 percent to 5.5 percent. Natural rate of unemployment is unemployment that is inevitable in modern economy as people change their jobs and industries emerge and fade away. Achieving the natural rate of unemployment is considered as an indicator of a well functioning, healthy and efficient economy. While the technical requirements of such an endeavor can be aided through direct musical instruction, in earlier stages of musical growth the emotional demands require guidance by a teacher and self exploration from the participant. Once success in this area becomes apparent, musical benefits emerge and the journey the individual undertook also helps shape their emotional intelligence. By answering the question of how music education affects an individual s emotional knowledge of music and themselves, it will become possible to see the benefits of teaching music students with an emphasize on emotional learning. The first task requires the establishing of a relationship between music education and emotional intelligence, then different pedagogical techniques can be explored and gauged for their success in producing the desired effects, all which will help draw the connections between both ideas. Here are the parameters that will be used to guide the following discussion. The term music education is the teaching and learning of music (Colwell). • 38. Compare And Contrast Hester And Dimmesdale French poet Jean De La Fontaine once said, Nothing weighs on us so heavily as a secret does. Set in the harsh Puritan community of seventeenth century Boston, Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter is a tale of a woman named Hester Prynne who is involved in an affair scandal. As a result she is punished by the relentless society and is ordered to bear a scarlet A on her bosom for the remainder of her life which stands for adulterer. However, the mystery as to who the father is of her newborn baby, Pearl would remain a mystery for seven years. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hester s scarlet letter is a piece of clothing, the SCARLET LETTER, so fantastically embroidered and illuminated upon her bosom (Hawthorn 51). Her interpretation of the extremity of her sins is one of self composure and calm. She views her sins solely as a violation in the natural order of the environment and therefore cannot even perceive her sin as being evil except through outside influence. Dimmesdale on the other hand, has a scarlet letter carved in his chest. This is revealed when Dimmesdale was giving his revelation, in which he tore away the ministerial band from before his breast. It was revealed! (Hawthorn 232). Dimmesdale s personal interpretation as to the extremity of his own sins is a violation of God s law, which is the law that he is totally dedicated to and supported by. Dimmesdale s interpretation of his sin is much more severe than Hester s, it is a violation and direct contradiction of his own self consciousness and physical existence. Therefore the appearance of his A, even though it is never directly described in the novel, must be powerful, broken, and brutally dishonest (...a ghastly rapture; Hawthorne pg.95). Since the Scarlet Letter on Hester is visible to the public, she was criticized and looked down on. I have always wanted to visit South Africa but have never had the opportunity to travel there. My involvement in international development has given me an interest in this country, as it has many ties to the developing world and the history of developing countries through colonialism. The city of Cape Town remains today a city of commercial trade, as trade is conducted through the port in Cape Town to other countries around the world (Economy, 2011). Although many people in South Africa still rely on subsistence agriculture to live, the majority of the South African economy is commercial. They have a plentiful supply of natural resources, which enable them to process those resources and trade them with the rest of the world in the free trade market (South Africa, 2011). In 1948, South Africa faced many problems as a policy of apartheid was implemented by the elected National Party (South Africa, 2011). This meant that there was a separate development of the African Americans and Caucasians, which favored the Caucasian minority (Comaroff, 1997). The apartheid caused many economic problems such as poverty, a lack of public transportation and a lack of economic empowerment among the disadvantaged groups (South Africa, 2011). South Africa s economy also suffered major blows in 2007, when there was an electricity crisis, and in 2009, from the global financial crisis. During this time South African GDP dropped 2 % (South Africa, 2011). This being said, the South African stock exchange remains strong and is now the 18th largest in the world (South Africa, 2011). Commonly referred to as glossophobia , speech anxiety is fear people face when delivering speeches and/or lectures to large audiences. The article, Conquer Fear of Public Speaking through Emotional Intelligence , written by Gleb Tsipursky, provides people with expert advice on how to conquer their speechanxiety. As someone who presents ideas and projects on a daily basis, I have started to conquer my speech anxiety. My knees started to quiver, and I began feeling febrile. However, I knew that I needed to remain composed, and ultimately deliver an excellent speech. Similar to Tsipursky s positive thinking method, I started to think positively. I used Tsipursky s method of positive thinking , and thought If you do not believe in yourself, how do you expect other people to believe in you? (Paragraph 8). By thinking positively and optimistically, I was able to envision my successful speech. The speech anxiety I once possessed had now disappeared, and I knew that I was ready to deliver a successful speech. This daunting experience provided me with a valuable lesson, which was to never think pessimistically. Presently, I apply the same methods that I used during this experience, as well as Tsipursky s method to the presentations I deliver. For improve the efficiency of the solar panel Maximum power point tracking technique is used, which track the maximum power of solar panel. The Maximum Power Point Tracking works on the impedance matching theory. When the Thevenin impedance of the circuit (source impedance) matches with the load impedance maximum power output of a circuit is obtain. this is according to maximum power transfer theorem. Boost converter is connected to a solar panel in source side which is used in order to enhance the output voltage that can be used for different applications. Source impedance and load impedance can match by appropriately changing the duty cycle of the boost converter. • 42. Positive Impact Of Two Stable Biological Parents On Children Positive Impact of Two Stable Biological Parents on Children The debate on the type of family structure that has a positive influence on children has been widely contentious. In the recent years, the family structure has continued to change. Many people in the modern society have continued to change their attitudes when it comes to matters of marriage and raising children. There are more single parents in the society today as a result of divorce and separations. Consequently, this has contributed to an increase in the number of children brought up by single parents. The current changes in family structure have become an issue of public concern because of the effect it has on both the parents and children. It is evident that children who are brought up by two biological parents do well as compared to children raised by single parents. Biological parents in this case refer to married couples who relate to their children through blood (Bachman et al., 2012). The single parent can be a biological father or mother who takes care of the needs of his or her children. Two biological parents play an important role in providing the children with necessary support during younger age by employing various parenting styles and practices. Marriage is a social norm and the idea of raising children should be a combined effort of both parents. Children raised by single parents lack good parental care and support which impact on their lives years later. This paper discusses why two biological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The most common cause of elective caesarean section is a previous caesarean section (CS). The studies were conducted both on pregnant and nonpregnant women. The scar defects were evaluated based on shape, size, and thickness of residual myometrium. In an unscarred, the lower uterine segment (LUS) is viewed as three layered structure. The inner layer includes chorioamniotic membrane and endometrial layer. Middle layer includes myometrium, and outer layer includes peritoneal reflection and bladder wall (Cheung 2004). As the pregnancy progress, the LUS develops and the layers changes in sonographic resolution. Myometrium becomes thinner gradually and less distinguished later on in the pregnancy. Whereas in as scarred uterus different layers are not well demarcated, the LUS is comparatively thin. It is considered as scar defect if there is a window or defect in the myometrium. The CS scar was measured in two planes, transverse and sagittal. In the sagittal plane, scar depth, width and residual myometrial thickness (RMT, between hypoechoic indentation at the bottom of the scar to the hyperechoic line of the uterovesical fold) measured and the length of the scar measured in the transverse plane (Naji 2012). In relation to the authors thesis, the presence of a psychological effect forcing the southern populace to realize the consequences of the blockade, and reduce the number of raiders attempting to breach the blockade. Following the psychological assessment of the southern attitudes, the authors transition to the initially reason for the blockade, crippling the southern economy. The blockade aided in the Confederacy s deterioration, but was not the only source of prevention. The blockade led to the collapse of the already fragile Confederate railroad, leading to a decrease in transporting goods to soldiers (Bonner and McCord 381). The south was also limited in the amount of cotton it could export to Europe, and with it being their largest source of income, greatly reduced clothing supplies, and monetary assets (Bonner and McCord 381). Furthermore, the revenue that came from blockade running paled in comparison to pre blockade profits. This led to the Confederacy only providing immediate needs for the populace (Bonner and McCord 381). Ultraviolet light, whether produced by a tanning unit or by the sun, contains two components; UVA and UVB. These are the two types of ultraviolet radiation that are known to negatively effect the skin. UVA has a longer wavelength that causes photoaging and can produce some melanomas. UVB has a shorter wavelength that also causes photoaging and has been implicated in skin cancers. Photoaging is the premature aging or deep wrinkling of skin. Indoor tanning units utilize both forms of light waves to tan a person with a minimized risk of sunburn. Tanning outdoors does not give you this option because the sun omits every type of UV rays, so a person is more likely to burn. A person s skin epidermis consists of two layers: The germinative layer and the horny layer. Another name for the germinative layer is the living layer. And another name for the horny layer is the dead layer. When exposed to ultraviolet light, melanocytes in the germinative layer produce melanin that is absorbed by surrounding cells. Melanin is a dark pigment found in the pigment bearing cells of the skin, and melanocytes are epidermal cells capable of synthesizing melanin. This creates a protective barrier from ultraviolet light reaching deeper into the layers of the skin. The pale pink melanin granules are stored in the core of keratin cells.
