Importance Of Religious Connections In King Arthur And The...
In the novel, King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, the author, Roger Lancelyn Green,
makes numerous connections to the teachings of the Catholic church. These connections show the
importance of the Catholic faith to the knights of Logres. Some of these examples, including the
presence of a Jesus figure, the performing of miracles, and the betrayal of friends, relate to many of
our central beliefs as Catholics. In King Arthur, Galahad acts as a Jesus figure. Merlin prophesied
Galahad to be born of Elaine and Lancelotand he was going to save the people of Logres. I would
see this boy before I pass from the ways of men, for his name is Lancelot, and another Elaine in the
times to be shall bear him as one called Galahad (page 73).

Free Cash Flow
Free cash flow
In corporate finance, free cash flow (FCF) is cash flow available for distribution among all the
securities holders of an organization. They include equity holders, debt holders, preferred stock
holders, convertible security holders, and so on.
G. Bennett Stewart the economic model of value holds that share prices are determined by just two
things: the cash to be generated over the lifetime of a business and the risk of the cash receipts .
GSB (1990), The Quest for Value
FCF is the cashflow generated by a company s operations that is free, or net, of the new capital
invested for growth. Imagine all a company s cash receipts are deposited in a cigar box, and that

Domino Effect Essay
Vietnam constantly battled for independence after it became a colony of France in the late 19th
century. After declaring their independence from the French at the end of World War II, Vietnam
became divided and started a civil war between the communist North and the democratic South.
Across the ocean, the United Statesfeared that Communism rising in the Soviet Union and China
would threaten the independence of their country; to prevent this from occurring, the United States
supported the South in the Vietnamese civil war. The attempt of the United States to protect their
freedom would prove to harm the Vietnamese in countless ways. President Dwight Eisenhower s
Domino Effect focused on removing the threat of communism in Europe and... Show more content

Communism, then the theory assumed that Cambodia and Laos would soon become Communist.
Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines would follow shortly after. Once these countries

Spain’s Golden Age and the Reign of Philip II Essay examples
Spain s Golden Age and the Reign of Philip II
A golden age can be interpreted in many ways; it can be a time of great power for a monarch, or a
country. It can be described as a time when some activity is at its peak, or as a period of great
peace, prosperity and happiness. I will look at the period 1474 1598 to see if any of the monarchs
reigns meet any of these interpretations of a golden age .
The kingdom of Aragon had its own Cortes, which limited Ferdinand s power as he was subject
to the fueros[1]. In Castile however, the Cortes were relatively powerless; not necessary to pass
laws and had little interest in taxation. No Cortes was called between 1480 and 1498, which is ...

However, this new system had a limited effect, as they were merely extensions of Ferdinand and
Isabella s councils of Aragon and Castile for example, the Council of the Indies, and were only
used to deal with new territories. Charles was still the source of all power, and the Councils only
offered advice to him. Therefore, the administration did not change much, and changes that were
made were almost ad hoc, as efficiency was only improved because of financial needs.
Philip II had many advisors, but he made the final decisions, and Philip wanted to see all
paperwork, even small matters like planning permission. This made the administration very slow,
as Philip could not look at all the paperwork from all of Spain and his other territories. However,
Philip did build a castle in Madrid, where he lived and this meant that the administration was
stationary, not like with his father and Ferdinand and Isabella; wherever they went. This did
improve the administration a little, but not by very much; he was too slow at making decisions
and he wanted to know all the facts before he made a decision but rarely he got all of the facts.
The administration of Spain did not contribute to any of the monarch s reigns being a golden age .
It did not change much in the period 1474 1598, and the monarchs did not improve it enough;

Immersion Heat Lab Report
In activity 17.3.2 we weighed out 150g of chilled water and 150g of pat dried ice and we put it
into a styrofoam cup along with an immersion heater, and a temperature sensor. We recorded the
data on LoggerPro and as the experiment is running, we continuously stirred the mixture; We ran
this experiment for roughly 16 minutes; We saw that the icewas melting and once it was completely
melted, the water started to get warmer and boil, we also observed steam from the water.
Analyzing our data, we compared the initial mass 300g to the final mass 257.5g, there was some
loss due to evaporating during the boiling process. This experiment supports the concept because
we can see that when the immersion heater was melting the ice, there was a horizontal line near
0В°C; When the ice was changing phase to liquid, we observed no temperature changes. ... Show

Experiment/Result/Analysis:
In activity 17.8.1, we related volume and temperature, we had a empty beaker with air and a
temperature probe in it, sealed with a rubber stopper that was connected to a syringe. We placed
the beaker in cold water with a immersion heater and recorded the data on LoggerPro. As the water
heated up, we observed that the pressure of the air remained constant because the temperature is
also changing. We fit our data with a linear curve and concluded that the change in volume is
directly proportional to the change in temperature.
In activity 17.8.2, we related pressure and temperature, the setup for this experiment is similar to
that of 17.8.1, however the syringe is replaced with a pressure sensor and the temperature sensor is
in the water surrounding the flask. We recorded the data whenever the ice melted and the pressure
and temperature stabilizes. We fit our data with a linear curve and concluded that the change in

In addition, most of the participants mentioned the creditability and time efficiency of social media
reports of hurricane assessments. In other words, many households are still questioning the
importance of evacuation and ran out of time when trying to evacuate with extended family
members. Besides, what needs to be mentioned is that some participants blamed negative influences
of racial inequality when making their decisions before the hurricane. At the end of research report,
poverty and racial inequalities are concluded to be two major explanations why African Americans
were unwilling to evacuate in a life threatening scenario. Recommendations to governments at all
levels are to enhance the importance of every evacuation order in a clear and timely manner and to
neutralize cultural differences or racial perceptions as a life long mission in order to minimize
casualties underlined. Method and Sample Qualitative method is using open ended questioning,
non statistical research techniques, or value based observations. In this research, three main
methodologies are adopted as focus group, distributing questionnaires and conducting personal
interviews simultaneously. Methods are all appropriate and contributed to a comprehensive

Concussions And Concussions In Football
According to the 2015 NFL Health and Safety Report, concussions occurring in regular season
games have dropped 35 percent since 2012 (Reyes 2015). Concussions caused by helmet to
helmet hits decreased 43 percent and hits to defenseless players are down 68 percent since 2013

also sought to find better technology. Working with GE and Under Armour, the league held a Head
Health Challenge, awarding financial incentives to companies with innovative ideas to protect
athletes from head injuries; these ideas included an under layer beneath synthetic turf to cushion the
blows when players hit the ground, a helmet with many layers to better absorb impacts and a tether
connecting the head to the torso to try to prevent the head from snapping back suddenly after a

Definition And Categories Of Homelessness
Definition and Categories of Homelessness
The Early Years
The meaning of homelessness has changed many times in the past years, we have forgotten that
casual laborers, vagrants, and the wandering poor were not unseen in early years, whereby
homelessness is an uneasy situation in society. According to Shlay Rossie, (1992), homelessnessis
an individual without a home or a permanent place, but current perspectives indicate that
intermittent homelessness falls into the definition. At the beginning vagrancy focused on skid row
with the attention on single room hotels, boarding houses, and cheap places to eat, on the
community that attracted transients, though they were not homerless, whereby they had had a
place to sleep with an address. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Hubley et al. (2014), the quality of life for homeless is lower than that of the
general population because of his or her living conditions, such those who live on the streets with
no place for personal care. There are no difference in the quality of life of genders, but there are
more services available to mothers caring for children than there are for single men, whereby there
is a need for more male services.
Los Angeles County is the homeless capital of the USA, with at least 88,000 homeless in 2005
(Reese, Deverteuil, Thach, 2010). The reason for the high number of homeless is the lack of
income, a drop in non existent welfare support and not enough affordable housing, as a result has
people into homelessness. The rent in California is high with a studio apartment running an
average $843 per month, which is not within the affordable rent for a minimum wage earner nor a
recipient of Supplemental Security Income. According to Reese et al. (2010), a majority of the
homeless are in the older, diverse urban neighborhoods where homeless services have a habit of
gathering. As a result of low income living in one area, the degree of mental disabilities and
substance misuse are roughly twice as high among the homeless compared to the entire County.
Imminent Homeless

her living situation, whereby the individual has

Charles Baxter s short stories are well known for the strong presents of ordinary people
encountering extraordinary strangers who disturb their lives. Gryphon written by Charles Baxter is
not an exception. The story is filled with characters that are awaken from their boring lives and
transported into a worldof possibilities. As a central idea of the story, Baxter s critics often
mention middle America s conventions, and the effect it has on anyone who does not fit the mold.
Within Gryphon the reader experiences a few days in the life of fourth grade class; specifically, a
few days spent with a unique substitute teacher. The narrative outlines, on many occasions, the

She sounds sane in one breath and delusional in the next. An other fascinating fact about the title
of the story is the spelling of the word gryphon. It is a variant of griffin, which is more popular
way of spelling the term. As if a gryphon was not enough, the author choose to use the least
popular version of the spelling as well. This is yet another symbol of how truly different, out of
this world Miss Ferenczi really is. The preliminary settings are as ordinary as they can be. It is a
Wednesday afternoon (245) boring classroom between a geography class and an art project. It is
quite and peaceful in Five Oaks. In the background of a rural community consisted of
unemployed college graduates and stay at home moms (246),Miss Ferenczi is a colorful stranger.
She is a breath of excitement to the children s dull lives. She presents herself to the class in a very
theatrical manner. First thing she mentions about herself is her royal Hungarian ancestors. Her tale
fascinates the young minds. Tommy the narrator of the story, does not take his eyes of the woman
(246). He notices a curious characteristic of her physical appearance the two prominent lines,
descending vertically from the sides of her mouth to the chin (247). They resemble Pinocchio, who
was never a real boy, but a prominent liar, further emphasizing the way Miss Ferenczi plays with
truths and facts. Pinocchio reference is a push pull phenomena. It brings to the story the argument of

Prison Authority And The Prison System
Most people are aware that prisoners possess zero authority in the prison system. They have no
control over any aspect of their daily lives, but instead they are minded by prison jurisdiction.
Prison guards and wardens possess the power to do anything that they please within those brick
walls. This is an issue that society has been aware of for many decades; however, there has been
little to no effort to change the conditions. Many prisoners have sought to inform society of how
these prisonauthority figures abuse their power by producing many different types of media.
One of those individual s is the poet, and former prisoner Carolyn Baxter. While being
incarcerated in the New York City women s correctional facility, Baxter wrote a poem entitled
35 Years a Correctional Officer. In this poem she expresses the motif of power by telling the
story of a correctional officer who was in fact abusing her authority to satisfy her own needs.
Baxter reveals this motif by cunningly using the literary elements of situational irony and tone.
The correctional officer that Baxter talks about in this poem is introduced as Ms. Goodall . Her
name correlates with how her character is revealed throughout the beginning of the poem. Baxter
begins by stating, Ms. Goodall does not drink, swear, or masturbate , and then following up with,
It s against God s will , she says (Baxter 1 2). With the previous quotes Baxter reveals that Ms.
Goodall has given everyone the impression that she is a

Violence in Boxing and Similar Sports
In 1962, Norman Cousins wrote an essay about the dangers that came with sport of boxing
called Who Killed Benny Paret? . His essay focused on a match that resulted in the death of a
boxer named Benny Paret. The Investigations on Paret s death reflected on many aspects, such as
the role of the referee who did not act in time to stop the fight, the doctor s examinations if he
was really fit, the opponent who did not stop when Paret did not respond to his punches, and
Paret s manager and boxing authorities who were criticized because they gave Paret clearance to
fight even though they knew that he had two previous fights in less than six months. Cousins on
the other hand, had a different argument, he blamed Paret s death on the people that attended
boxing matches because he agreed with Mark Jacobs, the prize fight promoter, that people just
came to see a man got hurt or knocked out. For Cousins, boxing was just a show of violence and
the purpose of the sport was only to entertain the crowd. And as I looked at the growth of violence
sports, which had been growing rapidly over the years, I agreed with Cousins argument that people
just saw violence sports as an entertainment. One of the reasons I agreed with Cousins was because
people were seeking for an excitement in their lives, and one of many sources to find that
excitement was through watching violence sports. When people were watching violence sports, it
pumped up their adrenaline, it also provided them with opportunities

interview with The New York Times, creator Vince Gilligan said the larger lesson of the series is
that actions have consequences . He elaborated on the show s philosophy: If religion is a
reaction of man, and nothing more, it seems to me that it represents a human desire for
wrongdoers to be punished. I hate the idea of Idi Amin living in Saudi Arabia for the last 25
years of his life. That galls me to no end. I feel some sort of need for biblical atonement, or justice,

Internal Conflict In Macbeth
Conflict happens when two or more people have an disagreement on same topic, or when people
clash in relationship. Warfare is presented as gruesome, unspeakable of hatred and sickening
dream, warfare is often portrayed as bloody and troublesome in literature, because many of the
battles involves violence and death. Hero in many occasions are presented as abnormal, who is
very talented, who is capable to safe people, nevertheless when it comes to failure, the hero is just
like an ordinary human, Shakespeare played and twisted the role of hero, using the character
Macbeth. The play Macbeth and pro also con poems about the war, made me determine that conflict
involves physical strength in fighting, but also serious internal breakdown in emotions... Show more

At this point, Macbeth appears to the audience, that he is suffering from inner conflict, we can
see this, because Shakespeare presents his indicate messed up feelings, and his over running
lines in the play. Shakespeare has Macbeth present as cowardice human in this scene, compared
to before, because from this scene Macbeth is expressing all his worries and his fear of the
consequences after the murder of Duncan. The impression of Macbeth to the audience has rapidly
changed from loyal gallant, brave and trustworthy after the greed of ambition ,to become king, to a
man that has lost his way, that doesn t know how to continue on wards. Macbeth stating, we still
have judgement here, that we but teach/bloody instructions which being taught return/ to plague
the inventor within the soliloquy it s showing how concerned and nervous he is, Macbeth s
speech is symbolizing his nerves, and his hear rate within that long enjambment speech, because
clearly it s showing us the lines from the speech is running over each other. The word judgement
suggest it s another word for god, this shows Macbeth is frightened about god judging on him in
afterlife, because he knows if he kills the king, he is going against god, because the king has the
divine right, that is given by godпјЊthis connotes in the Jacobean period, people believed a lot in
god, for considering decision before doing it, linking with god. This is why Macbeth is so
worried, he is scared, that he may go to hell, because of his ambition to become king, for he who
didn t have the divine right. From the massive changes, we can see Shakespeare is telling us that
there s no perfect hero, hero fails too, everybody makes mistakes even hero

The Characteristics Of The Character Of Detectives
1A. A good detective is a very smart person who is able to use evidence and to detect lies and
truth. And is also able to think things in a logic and quicker way as well as understanding criminal
s movements. For example, detective Dupin in the Murders of the Rue Morgue from how the
bones were broken and how a lot of hair was pulled out, he figured out that the criminal was not a
human, but rather an criminal(Orangutan). I proceeded to think thus Г posteriori. The murderers
did escape from one of these windows. This being so, they could not have refastened the sashes
from the inside, as they were found fastened; the consideration which put a stop, through its
obviousness, to the scrutiny of the police in this quarter. Yet the sashes were fastened. They
must, then, have the power of fastening themselves. There was no escape from this conclusion.
I have seen the character of detectives evolve from one author to the next by having a brilliant
life in Doyle s novel The Sign of the four to love as in Rampo s Beast in the Shadows. In The
Sign of the Four it said, I cannot live without brain work. What else is there to live for? In the
Beast in the Shadows it said, Thus, I fell for her completely, sending her meaningless on a
frequent basis. Doyle s, Rampo s, Gaboriau s, Christie s, and Borges s fiction character and plot
were similar as Poe s detective and plot. Therefore, they do depend on earlier models. In respect,
Gaboriau aims to glorify or support the French police while it said, Well done, Goulard! quoth
the commissary, approvingl; Poe has a contemptuous attitude towards the agency. I believe that
Gaboriau got the idea from Poe, but did the opposite from what I see, I could definitely tell that
Poe deserves the title One of American Greatest Storyteller because so many authors followed his
example of how to write a detective novel. Which shows that his writing impact others to write
detective novels. 2A. Rule number 10: The culprit must turn out to be a person who has played a
more or less prominent part in the story that is a, person with whom the reader is familiar and in
whom he takes an interest. I think Christie played fair with this. The book she used this idea in
with great

Conventional cigarettes emit tobacco smoke, which is the most significant air quality tissue.6 The
most harm aspect of tobacco smoke is the combustion of chemicals.4 It has been declared a Group 1

that electronic cigarettes produce lower levels of pollutants, making electronic cigarettes safer for
the user, bystanders, and the environment when compared to conventional cigarettes. Schober et al.

and types of electronic cigarettes that have different doses of liquid cartridges. Ario et al. reports
that second hand exposure should be further investigated to find possible health issues. Colard et al.
reports that further studies should be done to report concentrations in different locations, with
different distances from the user and the bystanders, and with different vaping behaviors (puff
volume, frequency, and inhalation). Bertholon et al. reports that the toxicity of long terms will vary

reported that there are limits in the studies because there were different methods used, in addition to
the different designs and manufacturing of electronic cigarettes, and because some findings were

Free Will Definition
The concept of free will fundamentally breaks down into the interpretation of its two constituent
words. The word free is a direct link to the concept of freedom, which Descartes describes as the
ability to do or not do something . (O Connor) Freedom is not constrained. There can be no limits
placed on it, lest it lose the fundamental nature of its definition. Hume reasoned that the sense of
freedom linked to free will was that of liberty. that liberty is not a power of acting, but a power
of choosing. If I can do what I want, but I can t choose what I want, then perhaps I am not free
(Lacewing 5) I accept this is the more complete ideal of freedom, because it encompasses what free
will ought to be. It also raises interesting questions... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(174) These tend to be determinisms that govern individual action, on a more personal level.
The second facet of determinism is known as global determinism.(174) These include physical,
theological, and logical determinism. Each of these address the idea of determinism from a
grander scale, where actions and events, surrounding an individual, are directly impacted by
larger principles outside of the control of the agent. For example, physical determinism is when
everything that exists or occurs is simply an arrangement of physical particles that conform to
the laws of physics. Our tossing and failing to swish the paper ball in the waste basket was
caused by a number of other events, which includes our choosing to toss the paper, which was also
determined by other factors leading up to our decision. Theological determinism claims everything
to be pre determined by God, which is another essay all in itself. Logical determinism was
described as whatever happens later could not have been otherwise, and can not contradict the truth
value of whatever sentence or claim we make at the moment. This form of determinism is important

community, as did many women at this time. Lincoln was the middle child with an older sister
Sarah and a younger brother Thomas who died as an infant. The Lincoln family soon moved after
Abrahams birth to Perry County, Indiana in 1817. A year after moving to Indiana Abrahams
mother died of tremetol, she was only thirty four years old. The loss of Abrahams mother led him
to resent his father for the hard work that he placed upon him. Only a year after the down spiral of

There were class issues, political issues and yes, slavery issues that all contributed to the Civil
War. President Lincoln provide over $2million for war supplies, call up 7500 volunteers to fight
and suspended habeas corpus,10 all without approval by the Congress. Although slavery was not
the major cause of the Civil War, Lincoln felt confident in the Union progress that he reshaped the
war by authoring the Emancipation Proclamation, freeing all slaves.11 The freeing of all the slaves
had nothing to do with winning the war, because we ended up winning two years later through
attrition. After the victory the United States was reconstructing, in places under the Union
military.12 Lincoln did not agree with this so he want the country to reunify with no punishment to
either side, but the congress disagreed. Before Lincoln could reunify or try to reunify the country he
was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. The assassination occurred on April fourteenth of 1865 at

How Did Alexander Hamilton Influence Today
In the late 1700s, Alexander Hamilton was appointed Secretary of Treasury by George Washington.
It can be assessed whether or not Alexander Hamilton was more influential than George Washington
in those first years under the Constitution. Alexander Hamilton set up multiple ways to pay off the
nation s immense debt. Hamilton founded the Bank of the United Stateswhich is known today as the
Federal Reserve System. Hamilton influence also extended into making the United States a
commercial nation instead of an agrarian one. George Washington s influential years came before
the constitution, before and during the American Revolution. Alexander Hamiltonwas more
influential than George Washington in the first years under the constitution because he was the
leading force in trying to pay off America s debt, he set up the united bank and commercial nation

Hamilton had a vast majority of ideas; from combining state and national debt to the whiskey tax.
Now, these two examples had a fair amount of opposition, but each was adopted. Combining state
and national debt not only forced every American citizen, no matter if their state had paid off their
debt or not, to pay taxes and gave the government more money. This financial plan also gave the
government itself stronger, more steady footing in running the new country.
The Bank of the United States was mainly protested because of its modelling after the Bank of
England. Hamilton s main purpose of founding this bank was to prevent inflation. This was done
by having the bank issue currency so that Congress did not print off more money to pay off debt
and cause inflation. The Bank of the United States shows explicitly how influential Hamilton was
during this time because this bank stabilized the country then and is known as the Federal Reserve

Problems Faced By President And Congress In The 1790s Essay
The Immediate Problems and Issues Faced by The President and Congress in 1790
During the 1790s, the young American republic faced many of the problems that confronted the
newly independent nations in the 20th century. For one they had to form a sound economy.
Another problem was preserving national independence. Creating a stable political system was
another challenge that would also provide a legitimate place for opposition.
It wasn t very obvious that the union would survive long. George Washington did not think that a
new government would last even 20 years. Consolidating public support was also one of the many
problems that the new republic faced. Only about 5% of all white males voted to ratify the new
constitution and only two states continued to support the articles of the confederation. There was

created departments of State, Treasury and war to provide a stable structure for the executive
branch of the government.
The Judiciary Act organized the first federal court system which consisted of a Supreme Court with
six justices, a district court in every state, and three appeals courts. Congress approved a bill of
rights to strengthen popular support for the new government. The bill of rights ensured that national

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
TO: Cliff O Connor, CEO AcuScan, Inc.

SUBJECT: Observations and Recommendations for Optimization Project
DATE: June 30, 2008
Purpose and Scope of Document
The purpose of this document is to provide a basic overview of the current status surrounding the
AcuScan Optimization Project. This document will provide a brief background and summary of the
current situation, and then provide key points relating to the underlying issues. This document will
then outline the options AcuScan has in order to address the project issues and recommend the
most feasible course of action.

The company can split up the project into a series of rollout phases, which will extend the project
timelines, but reduce the workload pressure being placed on the current engineering staff. This
would save the company money in the short term, but could potentially impact their competitive
edge in the long term if the competition develops a similar product first. The other option is to act
on Director of Marketing proposal to hire contractors in order to take on the increased workload.
The company would have a dedicated resource for the project while at the same time allowing the
engineering staff to continue to provide a high level of quality service to existing customers. The
company would have to make a short term budget sacrifice, exacerbating the current budget crisis;
however the new product would launch before the end of the year and give AcuScan the
competitive edge it needs to increase sales over the long term.
It is proposed that AcuScan align budgeting goals to accommodate the current project timelines and
making a small sacrifice in costs to aid in the development by hiring outside contractors.
In order to encourage collaboration between departments, the Director of Marketing must allow that
the contractors are selected and managed by the Senior Engineer, who will be the most
knowledgeable as to the minimal extra man power needed and the skill set required to accomplish
the tasks.

Differences In Joseph L. Mankiewicz s The Quiet American
In America in the 1950 s there was a massive fear of communism. During this time in Vietnam, the
Communist North and the Colonialistic French controlled South, waged war against each other.
This is brought together in peace by Joseph L. Mankiewicz s 1958 film adaptation of The Quiet
American. He does so by highlighting key differences in the novel to give a completely different
perspective. The novel, written by Graham Greeneshows the two central characters; Fowler, a
British journalist and Pyle, a young idealistic American in Vietnam. Granted there are very few
differences between film and novel that affect the character s development in the story, these
differences change the way the characters are looked at and how their personalities come... Show

Mankiewicz most successfully illustrates the adaptations between the characters in the novel
and film. In the scene, it starts off with a shot of Fowler dining by himself, where it is quiet.
Then out of nowhere there is an explosion in the square startling Fowler, as he quickly realizes
where Phuong might be he rushes out of the restaurant. The next shot shows all the destruction
from the bomb as Fowler goes outside. As we watch Fowler try and fight through the crowd
unsuccessfully we see how unhelpful he is to Phuong. From there we see Pyle burst into the
scene like a knight in shining armor riding on an ambulance, making Fowler look even more
miniscule and useless. Following Pyle s entrance to the scene, Fowler joins the all too heroic
American on the ambulance where he immediately starts accusing him of his involvement to the
bombing. Fowler being too caught up in the lies Mr. Heng told him, he doesn t realize or seem
to care about the severity of the situation. Pyle is actually forced to yell at Fowler, shut up and
help someone . Which shows how obsessed he is with showing everyone how the American is
bad. He wants to put a damper on the way the American is looked at, not as the hero, but as the
villain. This in the end keeps true to the original thought of Pyle being the heroic humanitarian he

Freya Vs Rigg Religion
Norse mythology is the religion of the Viking people, who were seafaring warriors, raiders, and
explorers from the region which includes modern day Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Iceland.
They occupied this region from approximately 793 CE to 1000 CE. This religion did not have a
proper name and was simply referred to as tradition. For this project, I would like to explore the
role of women in the religion, particularly, Freya and Frigg and their similarities to one another.
The Norse religion developed, in part, from the earlier Germanic religion. In the earlier religion,
the domestic goddess was Frija. Freya and Frigg both evolved from Frija. This accounts for some
of their similarities, as they both originated from the same identity. However,... Show more content

In Germanic languages, including English, the word Friday is derived from the Proto Germanic
goddess Frija. When you examine the Norse words for Friday, two are used: Freyjudagr, which is
derived from Freyja, and FrjГЎdagr, derived from Frigg.
It is entirely unclear as to why the Germanic goddess Frija was split into Freya and Frigg when
the Norse religion was created. Some believe this could be due to the Norse s respect for women
and a wish to have them more prevalent in their religion. The reasoning behind this speculation is
sound, as Freya became one of the main deities in the religion and Frigg held the highest rank a
goddess could, almost equal to Odin.
When we look at Norse society, they were not entirely unlike other European societies of the
time. The Norse society was male dominated and a woman s place was considered to be in the
domestic realm. In fact, during medieval times, women were forbidden to cut their hair short,
carry weapons, and to wear men s clothing. Additionally, similar to most European societies at the
time, women were under the authority of her father, and later, her husband. Women were not
allowed to be a chieftain, also called a goД‘i, a judge, a witness, nor could she speak at assemblies,

Comparing Shai Linne And Toby Mac

they do are different for many. Some play because they love music, some for the crowds, but some
play for an even greater purpose. Two of these artists are Shai Linne and Toby Mac. Though the
different styles, content, and audiences, both of these artists sing for the same reason that is to
honor and glorify the one true King.

Student Athletes For The University Of Ohio
Secondly, for student athletes who practice a sport and attend classes, it is often difficult to
complete both tasks. Many students begin to show less motivation making it harder to stay focus
and attend their required classes. This is the case of student athlete Cardale Jones, a quarterback for
the Universityof Ohio. After taking his sociology final exam, he commented that coming to class
was pointless when his only responsibility was to play football for the university (Tracy 1). Student
athletes start to show poor academic achievement when they consume a lot of time in their sports
and often forget about their role of being a student. For instance, when students are not able to
complete their school assignments during the day they decide to study late and do not sleep the
necessary hours they need in order for their bodies to function and their brains to focus. In this
case, the poor achievement in students is notable because they do not perform well in school and
do not have a good nutrition. They often do not have time to eat the required three meals a day that
their bodies need. The poor academic achievement is often noticeable when many coaches begin to
tell their athletes that they are not allowed to take classes that interfere with practice. This puts
athletes in a barrier when they have to balance the two roles of responsibility of attending class and
completing homework assignments and attending the games. Student athletes have a poor mental
and physical body

This was when the rivalry between Gene and what he believed was Finny, but was really only

Rape itself is a sensitive topic, although it was desensitized by the Hutu men after they raped

causing problems with deeper roots than a normal war. Not only were there upwards of 1 million

Common and Preferred Stock
How do Corporations raise capital? All of the large corporations could not have grown to their
present size without being able to find innovative ways to raise capital to finance ultimate
expansion. There are many ways this can be accomplished, but this review will take a look at just
two ways: the issuance of Preferred Stock and selling of Common Stock. What exactly is a stock,
anyway? Basically, stock is ownership, simple as that. Buy a share of APPLE Inc. and acquire a

In contrast to a Common Stock, a company may choose to issue Preferred Stock to raise capital.
Preferred Stock represents a hybrid in the sense that it is an equity interest with certain features
resembling debt. Buyers of these shares have special status in the event the underlying company
encounters financial trouble. A typical preferred shareholderdoesn t vote on the composition of the
company s board or other matters. They are more interested in receiving regular dividends, since
these dividends do not fluctuate based on the company s profits; each preferred shareholder is
entitled to a fixed amount at certain periods, just so long as the company has the money to do
so. Dividends are, also, paid to preferred stockholders before they are paid to common
stockholders. Preferred stock is issued with a specific dividend rate. The dividend rate may be
stated as a dollar amount or as a percentage of the par value. When dividends are paid, preferred
stockholders are paid the amount applicable to their class of preferred stock. Several advantages to
issuing preferred stock include: no dilution of management s interest in corporate growth or in
voting power (if non voting preferred stock is issued), and predictable dividend payments and
preferences upon liquidation (for which investors may pay a premium). Although, disadvantages

The market imprefections will be exploited, government adverse policies will be adverted, there

Examples Of Pride In Antigone By Sophocles
Antigone was written by Sophocles.

goes into detail about Alexander s early life, to impressive battles, to his humble personality. In
this paper, I will be talking about how Alexander came to be king of Macedonia, his invasion to
unite Asia, and his mental insanity that drove him to die a lonely death. In an amazing eleven
year journey of success, Alexander the Great, of Macedonia, took over all the way from Egypt
to India. Following his monarchy came Greek institutions and the Greek language, which
became the norm way of the ancient world. When Alexander was born, the temple of Diana at
Ephesus burned to the ground. People thought that this was a warning sign that the power that
would eventually wipeout Asia had come to the world. That power was baby Alexander.
Alexander was born in Pella, the ancient capital of Macedonia. He was the son of Philip II, the
king of Macedonia, and of Olympias, a princess of Epirius. Philip and Olympias had payed
attention to their son who was growing up very fast and had potential for greatness. They
immeditly started to plan his education. His first teacher, Leonidas, was a family member and was
very strict on Alexander. He coached him how to live off very basic living, which would later help

Krysanova Don Q
I saw all three Don Qs and found them very enjoyable I did think that each cast had strengths and
weaknesses; but Wednesday especially the whole company lit up every inch of the stage during
matinee and evening. I have already written about Smirnova s Queen of the Dryads I liked it even
more Wed afternoon....
Minor notes I allow they may even seem quibbles when the dancing is so much
fun...Alexandrova, Krysanova, and Kretova all seem to perform their fouettes with low legs
Alexandrova and Kretova from beginning to end. Krysanova at least begins with a higher leg,
for example, in the doubles (I thought they were doubles) with which she began her sequence in
Don Q, only decidedly lowering the leg when she switched to singles and, simultaneously,
picked up more and more speed. I m not a fan of this look, but at least with Krysanova we get the
blazing speed as a pay off. With the others not really I just have to write it off as a Bolshoi
thing...Krysanova also offered the most brilliant line of pirouettes down the diagonal at the end of
her big Act I solo, moving with stunning speed AND covering space (getting all the way
downstage, to the end of the line of the cape wielders something Kretova did not quite manage, and

Unfortunately, I have been disappointed in Nikulina except for the liquid bourrees in Swan Lake
(bourrees I remember from seeing her dance prayer in Coppelia a few years back) and some
charming light jumps as Queen of the Dryads, I have found her really undistinguished for
someone who is being featured so prominently. Vinogradova, Alizade, and the dancers doing the
three big dryads (also for some casts I think these dancers were the three big swans) I have
enjoyed...program is packed away or I would type in their names along with some other

Bird By Bird In Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried
Bird by Bird, authored by Anne Lamott, gives advice on writing from the experience of a
longtime writer, advice that is supported by ideas in the book The Things They Carried, by Tim
O Brien. Bird by Bird is primarily a self help book on starting, continuing and succeeding in the
field of writing. With the ideas provided in Anne Lamott s book you can find similar thoughts
mentioned in The Things They Carried. Getting started on writing, morals in life and the power of
letters are some of these fundamental tips. Whether expanding on the ideas of Lamott or proving
her point Tim O Brien s writing aids the reader in understanding Birdby Bird. It all starts with the
writing process. For Lamott, it is sitting down at a certain time and staring at a blank page for a
while and slowly beginning to freak out, as you doubt one s right to live. And as one... Show more

She was saying that a writer s job is to convey truths and to do it well you need a viewpoint on
life. An author needs opinions on life in order to make a realistic writing. From what can be
gathered from Tim O Brien is that he believes there are no morals. With each story that he tells
he has Mitchell Sanders giving concise summaries of why what happened happened and these
morals don t explain the story whatsoever. Perhaps the moral from Mitchell Sanders is just
different from the moral that other people gather from the events. Perhaps because Sanders has
seen so much more grief and destruction than others that he sees things as more brutal in nature.
In Bird by Bird Lamott describes a moral as being more than a lesson or message and more of
being a inborn caring inspired by oneself. Mitchell Sanders sees a point in cutting off dead people s
thumbs whereas a majority of the human population sees that as sick and demented. But nothing is
wrong with that, as it is just an

Status Of Women In The 1920s Essay
The 1920 s was the green light for expression and liberation for women. As a result of wartime
effort and women filling up needed jobs that usually go for men, a societal change began to
flourish. On June 4th, 1919, the 19th amendment was passed and ratified on August 18th,1920, the
Women s Suffrage Clause, which gave women the right to vote. After this, things definitely
speeded up in a normal household. Women began to stray away from the title of cooking,
cleaning, and watching kids. While the typical married woman would be at home on Saturday
night, a woman of the 1920s was partying, wearing makeup and dressing in a way that would ve
screamed inappropriate had it been an earlier time under different circumstances. They had traded in
their traditional long skirts and corsets, for something that showed a little more skin and expressed
their newfound carefree... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She was financially dependant on her husband, since she did not have a job and dependant on
people in general. It was socially acceptable for her to live in East Egg because of old money but
also because she married into money, once she met Tom Buchanan. A chauvinistic, conceited,
man who she was madly in love with him, whom treated her not like a human but like a
possession and she continued to keep a positive attitude, with her fake oblivion towards her
husband s affair. Like Daisy had said earlier in the novel, that s the best thing a girl can be in this
world a beautiful little fool. She chose to ignore the infidelity and be one of those beautiful little
fools. When introduced to Daisy in the first chapter, she s presented as the typical dream girl of
the 1920s. The enigmatic personality and charisma that seeps off of her, her character is most
associated with purity and innocence, hence the white dresses being a symbol of her

South Africa Memo
The purpose of this memo is to help the team get a better idea of what this trip to South Africa is
for. Also to inform the team of things we all need to know while we are in South Africa.
Summary
We will be partnering up with a business on South Africa. We will be working closely with their
team. We will be working out of an office in Downtown Cape Town. While we are on this trip we
have to keep in mind the proper business etiquette in South Africa. We have to be respectful and
understanding of business in South Africa. Although it similar to the United States yet it is different
in some ways. We have to look at different things we may encounter while we are there such as
language barriers, meetings, proper attire and different business aspects. ... Show more content on

We will all be meeting up prior to our flight. We will all be on the same flight to South Africa.
Everyone needs to ensure they have their passports and work visa. Without these items you would
not be able to attend the trip.
Arrival
Upon arrival on Saturday we will be heading to a hotel that is located downtown Cape Town. The
hotel is relatively close to the office we will be working out of. It will be an easy commute back
and forth to the office on foot. The office is a 4 5 minute walk from the hotel. Saturday and
Sunday will be rest days and for everyone to be prepared for Mondays meeting.
Proper dress etiquette
We are to all wear business attire while we are working. The first meeting should consist of men
wearing a dark conservative suit. Women should wear a dark conservative suit or a modest dress.
They tend to look more presentation verses material things so we should all be ironing our clothing
and polishing out shoes. We need to get off to great start and show our new partners we are serious
about conducting business with them.
Weather
The weather in South Africa is not always warm or hot. We need to dress according. The weather
will get as low as 55 degrees while we are here. So everyone needs to pack and dress accordingly.

Audrey Hepburn, S Influence On Hollywood s Life
Nothing is impossible, the word itself says I m possible ! (Audrey Hepburn) Hollywood s
golden age was a time where Hollywood was one of the most visible businesses in America and
higher quality sound and film that started from 1930 and to the 1960s. Many actors and actresses
had been an inspiration, like Audrey Hepburn who flourished during the last years. Audrey
Hepburn, famous actress, dancer and fashionista, is the most known person in the 1960s for her
amazing acting that makes her one of the best of all time. Audrey Hepburn had a arduous
childhood, many events happening but make her a perseverant person. First and foremost, A
native of Brussels, Hepburn spent part of her youth in England at a boarding school there. During
much of World War II, she studied at the Arnhem Conservatory in The Netherlands. Education was
the simplest thing in her life at the time as she was going through the war and family change, but
manages to keep an education unlike maybe some others. Furthermore, Audrey Hepburn also had
been alive during the time of World War II and her childhood had been affected greatly because of
such dramatic changes. After the Germans invaded the Netherlands in 1940, Hepburn used the
name Edda van Heemstra, because an English sounding name was considered dangerous during the
German occupation. Also, Her family was profoundly affected by the occupation, with Hepburn
later stating that had we known that we were going to be occupied for five years, we

  • 2. Importance Of Religious Connections In King Arthur And The... In the novel, King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, the author, Roger Lancelyn Green, makes numerous connections to the teachings of the Catholic church. These connections show the importance of the Catholic faith to the knights of Logres. Some of these examples, including the presence of a Jesus figure, the performing of miracles, and the betrayal of friends, relate to many of our central beliefs as Catholics. In King Arthur, Galahad acts as a Jesus figure. Merlin prophesied Galahad to be born of Elaine and Lancelotand he was going to save the people of Logres. I would see this boy before I pass from the ways of men, for his name is Lancelot, and another Elaine in the times to be shall bear him as one called Galahad (page 73). ... • 5. Spain’s Golden Age and the Reign of Philip II Essay examples Spain s Golden Age and the Reign of Philip II A golden age can be interpreted in many ways; it can be a time of great power for a monarch, or a country. It can be described as a time when some activity is at its peak, or as a period of great peace, prosperity and happiness. I will look at the period 1474 1598 to see if any of the monarchs reigns meet any of these interpretations of a golden age . The kingdom of Aragon had its own Cortes, which limited Ferdinand s power as he was subject to the fueros[1]. In Castile however, the Cortes were relatively powerless; not necessary to pass laws and had little interest in taxation. No Cortes was called between 1480 and 1498, which is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, this new system had a limited effect, as they were merely extensions of Ferdinand and Isabella s councils of Aragon and Castile for example, the Council of the Indies, and were only used to deal with new territories. Charles was still the source of all power, and the Councils only offered advice to him. Therefore, the administration did not change much, and changes that were made were almost ad hoc, as efficiency was only improved because of financial needs. Philip II had many advisors, but he made the final decisions, and Philip wanted to see all paperwork, even small matters like planning permission. This made the administration very slow, as Philip could not look at all the paperwork from all of Spain and his other territories. However, Philip did build a castle in Madrid, where he lived and this meant that the administration was stationary, not like with his father and Ferdinand and Isabella; wherever they went. This did improve the administration a little, but not by very much; he was too slow at making decisions and he wanted to know all the facts before he made a decision but rarely he got all of the facts. The administration of Spain did not contribute to any of the monarch s reigns being a golden age . It did not change much in the period 1474 1598, and the monarchs did not improve it enough; therefore ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analyzing our data, we compared the initial mass 300g to the final mass 257.5g, there was some loss due to evaporating during the boiling process. Definition And Categories Of Homelessness Definition and Categories of Homelessness The Early Years The meaning of homelessness has changed many times in the past years, we have forgotten that casual laborers, vagrants, and the wandering poor were not unseen in early years, whereby homelessness is an uneasy situation in society. According to Shlay Rossie, (1992), homelessnessis an individual without a home or a permanent place, but current perspectives indicate that intermittent homelessness falls into the definition. Los Angeles County is the homeless capital of the USA, with at least 88,000 homeless in 2005 (Reese, Deverteuil, Thach, 2010). The reason for the high number of homeless is the lack of income, a drop in non existent welfare support and not enough affordable housing, as a result has people into homelessness. • 11. Prison Authority And The Prison System Most people are aware that prisoners possess zero authority in the prison system. They have no control over any aspect of their daily lives, but instead they are minded by prison jurisdiction. Prison guards and wardens possess the power to do anything that they please within those brick walls. This is an issue that society has been aware of for many decades; however, there has been little to no effort to change the conditions. Many prisoners have sought to inform society of how these prisonauthority figures abuse their power by producing many different types of media. One of those individual s is the poet, and former prisoner Carolyn Baxter. While being incarcerated in the New York City women s correctional facility, Baxter wrote a poem entitled 35 Years a Correctional Officer. In this poem she expresses the motif of power by telling the story of a correctional officer who was in fact abusing her authority to satisfy her own needs. Baxter reveals this motif by cunningly using the literary elements of situational irony and tone. The correctional officer that Baxter talks about in this poem is introduced as Ms. Goodall . Her name correlates with how her character is revealed throughout the beginning of the poem. Baxter begins by stating, Ms. Goodall does not drink, swear, or masturbate , and then following up with, It s against God s will , she says (Baxter 1 2). • 12. Violence in Boxing and Similar Sports In 1962, Norman Cousins wrote an essay about the dangers that came with sport of boxing called Who Killed Benny Paret? . His essay focused on a match that resulted in the death of a boxer named Benny Paret. The Investigations on Paret s death reflected on many aspects, such as the role of the referee who did not act in time to stop the fight, the doctor s examinations if he was really fit, the opponent who did not stop when Paret did not respond to his punches, and Paret s manager and boxing authorities who were criticized because they gave Paret clearance to fight even though they knew that he had two previous fights in less than six months. Cousins on the other hand, had a different argument, he blamed Paret s death on the people that attended boxing matches because he agreed with Mark Jacobs, the prize fight promoter, that people just came to see a man got hurt or knocked out. For Cousins, boxing was just a show of violence and the purpose of the sport was only to entertain the crowd. And as I looked at the growth of violence sports, which had been growing rapidly over the years, I agreed with Cousins argument that people just saw violence sports as an entertainment. One of the reasons I agreed with Cousins was because people were seeking for an excitement in their lives, and one of many sources to find that excitement was through watching violence sports. The impression of Macbeth to the audience has rapidly changed from loyal gallant, brave and trustworthy after the greed of ambition ,to become king, to a man that has lost his way, that doesn t know how to continue on wards. Macbeth stating, we still have judgement here, that we but teach/bloody instructions which being taught return/ to plague the inventor within the soliloquy it s showing how concerned and nervous he is, Macbeth s speech is symbolizing his nerves, and his hear rate within that long enjambment speech, because clearly it s showing us the lines from the speech is running over each other. • 15. The Characteristics Of The Character Of Detectives 1A. A good detective is a very smart person who is able to use evidence and to detect lies and truth. And is also able to think things in a logic and quicker way as well as understanding criminal s movements. For example, detective Dupin in the Murders of the Rue Morgue from how the bones were broken and how a lot of hair was pulled out, he figured out that the criminal was not a human, but rather an criminal(Orangutan). I proceeded to think thus Г posteriori. The murderers did escape from one of these windows. This being so, they could not have refastened the sashes from the inside, as they were found fastened; the consideration which put a stop, through its obviousness, to the scrutiny of the police in this quarter. Yet the sashes were fastened. They must, then, have the power of fastening themselves. There was no escape from this conclusion. I have seen the character of detectives evolve from one author to the next by having a brilliant life in Doyle s novel The Sign of the four to love as in Rampo s Beast in the Shadows. In The Sign of the Four it said, I cannot live without brain work. What else is there to live for? In the Beast in the Shadows it said, Thus, I fell for her completely, sending her meaningless on a frequent basis. Doyle s, Rampo s, Gaboriau s, Christie s, and Borges s fiction character and plot were similar as Poe s detective and plot. Therefore, they do depend on earlier models. In respect, Gaboriau aims to glorify or support the French police while it said, Well done, Goulard! quoth the commissary, approvingl; Poe has a contemptuous attitude towards the agency. I believe that Gaboriau got the idea from Poe, but did the opposite from what I see, I could definitely tell that Poe deserves the title One of American Greatest Storyteller because so many authors followed his example of how to write a detective novel. Which shows that his writing impact others to write detective novels. 2A. Rule number 10: The culprit must turn out to be a person who has played a more or less prominent part in the story that is a, person with whom the reader is familiar and in whom he takes an interest. Before Lincoln could reunify or try to reunify the country he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. The assassination occurred on April fourteenth of 1865 at Ford s theater in Washington ... It can be assessed whether or not Alexander Hamilton was more influential than George Washington in those first years under the Constitution. Alexander Hamilton set up multiple ways to pay off the nation s immense debt. Hamilton founded the Bank of the United Stateswhich is known today as the Federal Reserve System. Now, these two examples had a fair amount of opposition, but each was adopted. This financial plan also gave the government itself stronger, more steady footing in running the new country. The Bank of the United States was mainly protested because of its modelling after the Bank of England. Hamilton s main purpose of founding this bank was to prevent inflation. This was done by having the bank issue currency so that Congress did not print off more money to pay off debt and cause inflation. Problems Faced By President And Congress In The 1790s Essay The Immediate Problems and Issues Faced by The President and Congress in 1790 During the 1790s, the young American republic faced many of the problems that confronted the newly independent nations in the 20th century. For one they had to form a sound economy. Another problem was preserving national independence. Creating a stable political system was another challenge that would also provide a legitimate place for opposition. It wasn t very obvious that the union would survive long. George Washington did not think that a new government would last even 20 years. Consolidating public support was also one of the many problems that the new republic faced. During this time in Vietnam, the Communist North and the Colonialistic French controlled South, waged war against each other. This is brought together in peace by Joseph L. Mankiewicz s 1958 film adaptation of The Quiet American. He does so by highlighting key differences in the novel to give a completely different perspective. The novel, written by Graham Greeneshows the two central characters; Fowler, a British journalist and Pyle, a young idealistic American in Vietnam. The next shot shows all the destruction from the bomb as Fowler goes outside. As we watch Fowler try and fight through the crowd unsuccessfully we see how unhelpful he is to Phuong. • 25. Freya Vs Rigg Religion Norse mythology is the religion of the Viking people, who were seafaring warriors, raiders, and explorers from the region which includes modern day Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Iceland. They occupied this region from approximately 793 CE to 1000 CE. This religion did not have a proper name and was simply referred to as tradition. For this project, I would like to explore the role of women in the religion, particularly, Freya and Frigg and their similarities to one another. The Norse religion developed, in part, from the earlier Germanic religion. In the earlier religion, the domestic goddess was Frija. Freya and Frigg both evolved from Frija. This accounts for some of their similarities, as they both originated from the same identity. However,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Germanic languages, including English, the word Friday is derived from the Proto Germanic goddess Frija. When you examine the Norse words for Friday, two are used: Freyjudagr, which is derived from Freyja, and FrjГЎdagr, derived from Frigg. It is entirely unclear as to why the Germanic goddess Frija was split into Freya and Frigg when the Norse religion was created. Some believe this could be due to the Norse s respect for women and a wish to have them more prevalent in their religion. The reasoning behind this speculation is sound, as Freya became one of the main deities in the religion and Frigg held the highest rank a goddess could, almost equal to Odin. When we look at Norse society, they were not entirely unlike other European societies of the time. The Norse society was male dominated and a woman s place was considered to be in the domestic realm. In fact, during medieval times, women were forbidden to cut their hair short, carry weapons, and to wear men s clothing. Many students begin to show less motivation making it harder to stay focus and attend their required classes. This is the case of student athlete Cardale Jones, a quarterback for the Universityof Ohio. After taking his sociology final exam, he commented that coming to class was pointless when his only responsibility was to play football for the university (Tracy 1). Student athletes start to show poor academic achievement when they consume a lot of time in their sports and often forget about their role of being a student. For instance, when students are not able to complete their school assignments during the day they decide to study late and do not sleep the necessary hours they need in order for their bodies to function and their brains to focus. In this case, the poor achievement in students is notable because they do not perform well in school and do not have a good nutrition. They often do not have time to eat the required three meals a day that their bodies need. The poor academic achievement is often noticeable when many coaches begin to tell their athletes that they are not allowed to take classes that interfere with practice. This puts athletes in a barrier when they have to balance the two roles of responsibility of attending class and completing homework assignments and attending the games. This paper goes into detail about Alexander s early life, to impressive battles, to his humble personality. In this paper, I will be talking about how Alexander came to be king of Macedonia, his invasion to unite Asia, and his mental insanity that drove him to die a lonely death. In an amazing eleven year journey of success, Alexander the Great, of Macedonia, took over all the way from Egypt to India. Following his monarchy came Greek institutions and the Greek language, which became the norm way of the ancient world. When Alexander was born, the temple of Diana at Ephesus burned to the ground.
