The Consumer Rights Act 2015
This essay will analyse the Consumer Rights Act 2015 ( CRA 2015 ) as it is a significant element
of the government s reform of consumer law in the UK. The Act has been lauded as an immense
upheaval of consumer law due to the integration of eight existing pieces of legislation into one. The
complicated regulations regarding goods and services that consumers and businesses struggle to
comprehend will no longer apply under the Act. A consumeris an individual who is not acting for
the purpose of a business and outside that individual s trade or profession. The aim of the CRA
2015 is to provide consumers with confidence when purchasing goods and services in the modern
market. The Act intends to modernise the law, thus making it easier for... Show more content on

The definition of goods is given as any tangible moveable items. Shoppers are now guaranteed a
full refund up to 30 days after the purchase of the defective product. This demand for a full
refund with a fixed time limit provides better protection for consumers as the duration was
previously unclear and legitimate claims could be rejected by businesses due to prior
legislation only providing refunds if within a reasonable time. This time limit is provided for
under Section 22(3) which gives the consumer the right to reject the goods. After 30 days,
retailers will be given one opportunity to repair or replace the defective product and this is
dependent on the customer. The CRA now incorporates a three tier system to resolve any
problems between the consumer and the trader. The degree and nature of the remedies available
will depend on the amount of time the consumer has owned the product or on the type of service
provided. The first step is when the goods are not satisfactory, in which consumers are entitled to
reject them, as provided under Section 22. A full refund can be claimed and must be given without
undue delay and this has been covered under Section 20. The second step occurs when the
consumer has either lost the chance or not chosen to reject the goods. Under Section 23, the
consumer is entitled to claim a repair or replacement of the goods. The trader must repair or

Essay On Lord Of The Flies Fire Symbolism
In the United States in 2015, One home structure fire was reported every
86 seconds (National Fire Protection Association). As a result, Fire could be destructive or
hopeful ( in some situations such as rescue). A signal fire can be used to alert people of your
situation. An example of this in Lord of the Flies. In
Lord of the Flies, the fire, symbolizes hope, civilization, destruction.
At the beginning of Lord of the Flies, the fire symbolizes hope that somebody would rescue them
off the island. It shows their determination. In
Golding s Lord of the Flies, the symbolism of the fire being hope is present, as shown through,
There s another thing. We can help them to find us. If a ship comes near the island they may not

In conclusion, on the island, the fire symbolizes optimism.
Civilization is represented through fire in Lord of the Flies which keeps them in contact with
civilization. The fire kept the boys from becoming a free for
Rosen !2 all and killing each other. In the book, when the fire goes out for the first time, the
civilization dies and the island turns to savagery. In Golding s Lord of the Flies, the symbolization
of the blaze as civilization is shown through, We saw your smoke. What have you been doing?
Having a war or something? (Golding 244).
In the quote, the fire helped civilization return to the island. In conclusion, the fire brings the
connection between culture and barbarism to the island.
The destruction in Lord of the Flies was caused by the fire because when the fire gets too chaotic
it brings upon destruction. Fires can become very big if not treated when little. In Golding s

Saints Scholars And Schizophrenics Summary
Saints, Scholars, and Schizophrenics is the ethnographic study of a small town of An Cloch an on
the Dingle Peninsula in Ireland. Nancy Scheper Hughes lived in this small village in order to gain
perspective to why there was such a large number of schizophrenic cases within Ireland, and also
why such a large percent were unmarried males. She wanted to dissect the issue of why these
individuals were so prone to schizophreniaand what cultural factors cause these high rates. Scheper
Hughes interviewed both individuals in the village but also patients in the nearby mental
institution. She relied heavily on thematic apperception tests and interviews for her conclusions.
She found several cultural factors create an environment for high rates... Show more content on

The labeling theory explains how a community or culture defines deviant behavior, and the proper
diagnosis to treating the individual. This can be seen in An Cloch an, where psychiatric problems
are rarely made by the villager himself (Scheper Hughes 161). Although initial hospitalization is
rarely in acted by the individual, the patient eventually internalizes his behavior as deviant and will
identify himself as insane once institutionalized. However, the labeling theory can only be used
within the definitions of the culture, since different cultures will define abnormal behavior
differently. In the context of some Non Western cultures, symptoms of schizophrenia are praised,
and those who may hear voices or hallucinate are deemed as spiritual, and given the role of prophet
or shaman within the culture. Although schizophrenic symptoms are revered in some cultures,
within Ireland there is not only a stigma to the patient, but to the family as well (Scheper Hughes
283).Scheper Hughes explains that schizophrenia is a family condition; to the extent where there is
a pathology for the schizophrenic mothers . Defining the mothers of schizophrenic patients as
obsessive, sexually and emotionally immature, repressed, guilt ridden and ignoring the needs and
demands of their children (Scheper Hughes 257). This clinical diagnoses for mothers of
schizophrenics only deepens the social stigmas, and created more resentment among the family
members toward the patient. Not

How Fats Can Provide Energy For Exercise
Fats can provide energy for exercise, especially when the intensity of the exercise is light and even
moderate. All people need some fat for producing cell membranes, for their skin, hormones
production, and transport of fat soluble vitamins.
The Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range for fats is between 20% and 35% of the total
daily calories. Other organizations such as the American Heart Association or the National
Cholesterol Education Program have recommended a lower fat percentage. They both
recommend a limit of thirty percent or less for total fats. For Roger, a long distance runner who
also does a fair amount of weight lifting, I would recommend a fat percentage on the lower side
of the 20 to 35% range, simply to allow sufficient calories for carbohydrates (to fuel those long
runs) and protein to build up his muscles as he weight trains. Since Roger needs to consume a
higher quantity of calories to avoid an energy deficit and weight loss, he ll still be consuming
substantial fat calories. This will allow him to eat oily fish such as salmon, which has omega 3
fats, linked to reducing inflammation, which is important for an older athlete. Just as important as
the total quantity of fat, it is essential to minimize the daily amount of saturated fats, especially
hydrogenated / trans fats. For the above reasons, I recommend Roger consume only 20 to 25
percent of his daily calories from fat. When he is carbo loading before a race his twice per month

The Holocaust Denial
Growing up, people learn about the past of their own kind and of the world they live in. One reads
history in books, hears history from parents, and studies history at schools. Knowing the history of
one s ancestors allows one to understand the past and change for a better future. Significant battles,
civil movements, and reformations teach people valuable lessons and help the society to improve.
The Holocaust, one of the most well known history events, represents a perfect historical example
of discrimination and racism. However, a number of people started to deny the known facts of the

The Holocaust was inhuman. The IMT defined crimes against humanity as murder, extermination,
enslavement, deportation...or persecutions on political, racial, or religious grounds (Trials).
Murder, extermination, persecutions all occurred during the Holocaust. Nonetheless the Nazis
tried to hide what was going on in Germany. After Soviet Union s attack in eastern Belarus, the
Germans began moving all the prisoners in every concentration camp in Europe. The Nazi did
not want the public, especially the Allies, to know the stories in these camps. They viewed these
prisoners as labors and bargain chips (Death Marches) and treated those poor men and women s
lives as dust under their feet. They kept the prisoners alive only because they were hostages , and
Germans needed those labors to work for them in order to continue fighting the war; in short, the
prisoners were still useful to the Nazis. Fortunately, no matter how hard the Germans tried to
cover up their crimes, the Allies found enough evidence for the trial after World War II. After the
Allied troops captured the concentration camps, the survivors testified and provided evidence for
British officials to use on the trials of Nazi war criminals (Testimony). The Allies sentenced the
criminals guilty, executed many of the high ranking Nazi officers, and officially ended the bloody
chaos. In the last few decades, a wave of

I ve seen you here perhaps a thousand times before. And sometimes you re the only one here. I

Your dark hair has the subtlest streaks of red. Always done up in a ponytail, though I think it is
more beautiful when it is let down to frame your face. Cut along in a sharp straight line across
your shoulders. It shines in light. Glistens to the eyes that pass over it. Your skin is paler than
mine. It seems that even on beautiful days like this one you prefer to stay inside with a book, a

Criminalised Money Laundering In Australia
Criminalisation is a central tenet of any credible anti money laundering (AML) regime. The
principal offences related to money laundering in Australia are contained in division 400 of the
Criminal Code Act 1995(Cth) (the Criminal Code), which applies to both proceeds and instruments
of crime. Recognising the wide array of channels used to launder funds, the provision is framed in
broad terms and has been relied on to prosecute individuals in a variety of circumstances. This
versatility has been acknowledged by the courts with the NSWCA in Milne v R asserting that the
money laundering offences in section 400 constitute a 21st century response to antisocial and
criminal conduct commonly with international elements . Through the remainder of this

the person knows, or ought reasonably to know, that the money or other property is derived or

Trucking in the United States

Abstract: This paper will look at the work market for truck drivers in the United States. The
effects of a shortage and/or surplus of drivers and how the work market effects the country s
economy, and the workers way of life will be broken down. This paper will look at how adding
more jobs to this career also effects the supply and demand of goods, problems of finding qualified
workers, and the chances of an individual getting a job with others competing for the same job.

Something else more experienced drivers are worried about. 10 years ago I loved driving, now I
am scared to drive down the block, says James about the influx of new drivers in the industry, a
driver for Digby Southwest, a trucking company based out of Tucson, AZ. James has refused to
divulge his last name.
Conclusion
In conclusion, to have a healthy economy, goods must be moved to be bought. The trucking
industry has been a leading factor in moving goods since the 1900 s. Without it, the United States
will die in a minimum of 3 days. As for my thoughts on the matter, I believe the government needs
to start deregulating this industry. Many veteran drivers are in their retirement years and we will
need an influx of new drivers to take the helm. But unfortunately, many of these new drivers are
leaving the industry because they cannot handle the pressure put on them by the government. The
American highways are the safest they have ever been, so we need to stop thinking about how safe
we can make the roads, and start thinking about how we can keep these guys in the industry.

Argument In The Minstrel Show And The Antidote
16)What is the brave new world that felons face when released from prison? What are the
myriad problems they face with housing, with employment, and with debt? Alexander states that
once felons are released from prison, they face a world of civic death. For example, an offender
released into probation would be ineligible for welfare benefits, food stamps, public housing
among other federal assistance programs. Additionally, as a citizen he might lose his right to vote.
Alexander recounts the struggle of a young man with a felony conviction, he had nowhere to go,

strategies is the embracement of their stigma, in which young people end up accepting what the

The Coefficient Of Friction And The Deceleration Of An Object
Research Question
How is the coefficient of friction between two surfaces related to the deceleration of an object?
Introduction
Besides for the fact that friction is a drag (pun intended), humans have utilised this motion opposing
force, to its greatest potential. One of the most prevalent things, though generally perceived as
overused, the automobile, could be considered the epitome of friction utilization. The principles of
friction applies to everything, especially that to that of a car s tires. Suppose if they were
perfectly smooth, and to make matters worse, the road was perfectly smooth as well, the vehicle
would keep moving forward when the driver attempted to stop, due to Newton s law of inertia.
For this reason, tires are designed with raised tread to maintain a high degree of friction, gripping
the road tightly and dispersing water when the roadway is wet.
Friction is quite fundamental, seemingly elemental, the automobile is riddled with friction usage.
From the friction caused by tyres to the friction in the car, making it possible to drive at all. The
В¬capabilities do not end there, but with possibly the most underrated use of friction, a match,
something any Neanderthal would have appreciated. [6]

The name of this angle is Brewster Angle. It always obey a rule that reflected ray and refracted
ray in 90 degrees. Based on Snell s Law, n1sinОёp=n2sinОё2. And Оёp+Оё2=90 degrees.( Оёp is
incidence angle and Оё2 is refraction angle). So n1sinОёp=n2sin(90 Оёp). This leads to
n1sinОёp=n2cosОёp. or tanОёp=n2/n1.
Procedure D Put the D shaped optic lens on the top of the ray table, and shut down the lights in

The British And French Armies
The British and French Armies adopted and modified this tactic as well to meet their battlefield
needs. They developed time standards based on terrain. Optimally, the artillery and infantry
should simultaneously advance approximately 100 yards every one to six minutes. Eventually
shell variants were used for concealment as well. Originally only shrapnel shells were used. As
the tactic progressed, artillery would fire smoke ahead of the high explosive rounds giving
ultimate cover to the advancing infantry (Griffith, 141). After these tactics were employed during
the battle in the Argonne forest, allied forces advanced quickly towards their objective and within
ten days had beaten the German Army into almost full retreat. Never before had the American or
allied forces fought a battle of such scale. However, once commanders that were not present at the
battle relinquished control to Generals on the ground, the battle took a turn. New tactics were
introduced, ill performing commanders were replaced, and Soldiers were given a chance to rest.
Those factors gave allied forces the means necessary to continue successfully in the battle in the
Argonne forest. During the Great War, the Army predominantly used the oldest of intelligence
techniques. Espionage was dangerous and often lead to the death of those soldiers and spies behind
enemy lines. The time to deliver important and relevant information to the front lines took time.

Billy Beane Research Paper
Billy Beane was and still is the general manager of the Oakland Athletics professional baseball
organization. Billy was born in Orlando, Florida. He grew up and went to high school in California
at Mt. Carmel High School and later attended the University of California, San Diego for College
where he studied economics. It is known that Billy s family member was a part of US Military.
Billy s father was an officer in US Navy. Billy Beane s field of expertise is called sabermetrics.
Sabermetrics is the analysis of baseballthrough objective evidence, especially baseball statistics

from the acronym SABR, which stands for the Society for American Baseball Research. It was

and Huston Street earned back to back AL Rookie of the Year awards in 2004 and 2005,

inspired the 2003 book and 2011 film Moneyball. Billy transformed baseball from a typical scout
and projection recruitment style into a statistical analysis of predicting how players might perform
relative to their past statistical history. The thing is, he used it with one of the lowest payrolls in
the MLB. Major League baseball is a business and the organization is going to save money
wherever they can just like any other type of business. This is the reason why Billy Beane and his
sidekick Paul DePodesta are considered to be mathematical geniuses throughout the baseball

Abortion is Not the Reason for Lower Crime Rates Essay
What is wrong with the ivory tower? The appointment of Peter ( Death to Disabled Newborns! )

Recently, University of Chicago economist Steven Levitt and Stanford University Law School

many children would not then be forced to spend their days begging and could undertake some

Unfortunately, it appears that many people are accepting Levitt and Donohue s hypothesis as

The Jedi Path
The personal and communal nature of spirituality is nowhere so clear as it is with the Jedi
Community. I assert that the promotion of the Jedi Path (as an authentic spiritual orientation) is
best maintained by the Perennial Philosophy. In the performance of ritual at the Temple such as

It is believed that low Vitamin D levels cause hip fractures, but there is limited information
available on vitamin D levels in US women admitted with acute hip fractures. Research was done to
determine whether postmenopausal women with hip fractures have low Vitamin D and high
parathyroid levels compared with non osteoporotic and osteoporotic women admitted for elective

vision of men. She did not seem cruel to him then, nor beneficent, nor treacherous, nor wise. But she
was indifferent, flatly indifferent. (Crane). This nonchalant aspect of nature dominates Stephen
Crane s short story, The Open Boat, in order to highlight the meaning of the esoteric voice of the
sea in view of mans blights and life itself. Crane s story portrays a group of shipwrecked men in a
lifeboat, drifting on the ebbs and flows of uncertainty, held at the mercies of Nature s will. Crane s

As The third wave moved forward, huge, furious, implacable, (Crane) the men went overboard
and they were under the complete mercies of the sea. Here, Crane portrays the oiler, swimming
strongly and rapidly (Crane) towards the shore, while the other men lingered behind, holding on
to whatever helped them float. Crane also shows how The coldness of the water was sad; it was
tragic (Crane), indicating that staying in the water too long would be tragic. Thus, by setting up
this kind of imagery, Crane makes his reader think that the oiler was the one sure to survive due
to his vigor and rapidity, while the others would meet their fate in the cold waters. It is ironic to
the reader therefore, when the exact opposite happens: In the shallows, face downward, lay the
oiler. (Crane) The oiler had died, while the others lived. This clearly shows the inscrutable
influence of the nature s power as it interferes with life and death. Through this last bit of irony in
the story, Crane gives delivers his final message to the reader that nature will have the final say.
That is why as the white waves paced to and fro in the moonlight, and the wind brought the sound
of the great sea s voice to the men on shore, Crane enables his readers to feel along with the crew
that they could then be interpreters (Crane). It is just indifferent, flatly indifferent

The Influence of Athletic Competition on Psychological...
Literature review and Research Questions Research has illustrated that athletic competition has a
strong influence on psychological development, impacting an individual s formation in areas such
as self esteem, body image and overall well being (Anshel, 2000; Findlay Bowker, 2007; Haugen,
Safvenbom Ommundsen, 201; Peden, Stiles, Vandehey Diekhoff, 2008). A large sector of this
research has specifically analyzed the outcomes of negative experiences within athletics, especially
those high in stress and therefore resulting in potentially detrimental consequences for athletes. A
major source of stress within athletics is due to potential and veritable athletic injuries due to
overuse, during game accidents and other competition/training related afflictions (Hanson,
McCullagh Tonymon, 1992). Approximately 3 5 million injuries occur due to athletics each year
(Smith, Smoll Ptacek, 1990), and the prevalence of such injuries suggests that the trauma
experienced could pose a significant threat to athletes, both physically and psychologically, a
phenomenon that warrants further investigation. For the past 30 years or so, research has evaluated
the manner with which people handle stressful situations, which include athletic injury, and across
the literature it has been consistently and reliably found that people vary in the manner with which
they express well being across stressful life events (Carver, Scheier Weintraub,1989; DeLongis

both positives and negatives to this. These pertain to environment and ocean wildlife, public safety,

The cause of this debate comes with the return of White Sharks to the area. Over the past few
years, there has been an increase of this apex predator to our coasts like never before seen, most

Youth Rebelliion In The 1950s Essay
History Essay By Ben Roberson
During the 1950 s there was significant social change taking place in America. Young people
were dissatisfied with certain conservative aspects of society and their conduct reflected this.
They embraced the rock and roll culture, the new style of music and also the new styles of
dancing and dress that were associated with it shocked the older more conservative people.
Young people were also quick to protest against the controversial issues of the 1950 s. Civil
Rights, the Vietnam War and general politics provided fuel for an already blazing fire. Mass

Around this time young people began to break away from their parents. Prior to this each
generation had grown up treating their parents with the utmost respect and modelling their
behaviour and views on their parents. This change was made easier by the freedom brought
about by access to a car, which lead to increased independence. After the war there was huge
economic growth in America, this coupled with mass production of automobiles made transport
relatively cheap most families were able to afford a car. The children of these families were
often allowed to take out the family car, granting them more freedom to go out with friends and
more privacy for couples. This new show of independence was also evident in the young people s
reaction to social issues that were taking place. Many of the young war veterans returning from the
Second World War and the Korean Warfound it very hard to fit back into society. Many of these
veterans got heavily into both drug taking and social protest. However it wasn t only the youth
returning from war who were dissatisfied with the governments reaction to a number of issues that
young people felt very passionate about, namely civil rights and the onset of the Vietnam War.

Baseball Is The Best Sports Essay
Why Baseball Is the Best Sport
As Walt Whitman stated, I see great things in baseball. It s our game the American game.
Baseball has always been America s Pastime making it the greatest sport to be played. From
Mike Trout to Ken Griffey Junior or even all the way back to the Babe, baseball has been a constant
success in the eyes of every fanatic. Four cases come to mind to prove that baseball is a cut above all
other sports. Baseball is superior over all other sports because of the food. All baseball fanatics
know that the concessions are a must, every time they visit the ballpark. In 2013, there were
20,421,361 ballpark franks sold at stadiums around the MLB. The hot dogs aren t the only
attraction, though. For example, the famous chili cheese nachos at Great American Ballpark in
Cincinnati or the carne asada fries for the Padres. And the list doesn t end there. Every stadium in
the MLB has their own signature dish. Even though the MLB possesses the best ... Show more

The history behind this sport is unlike any other. Jackie Robinson came into the sport in 1947
and changed the sport forever. Not only did this change affect baseball, it affected the whole
world helping the end of segregation laws in 1964. Also the records are like nothing else. No
other sport can experience the atmosphere of a perfect game or a no hitter in the making.
Records are broken each and every year in baseball, making the statistics of the game just as
interesting as the game itself. Another example of the MLB s rich history is that it brought our
country together during a time of need. For example, teams rallied around New York City in
2001 and honored all the victims of 9/11. During World War 2, baseball was one of the only
bright spots in the world. The sport held families together and helped keep people s minds off of
actions overseas. Baseball goes all the way back to the 19th century, and there has never been a

Andragogy By Malcolm Knowles
Andragogy is a term used by Malcolm Knowles to describe the process in which adults are prone
to learning. Malcolm Knowles theory is that the adult learning process consists of these four
phases. 1. Changes in Self Concept. 2. The role of experience. 3. Readiness to learn. 4. Orientation
to learning. (Tiedeman, D. V., Knowles, M). (1979).
In the Psychosocial Rehabilitation world, individuals can participate as a student, in a classroom

What Are The Competitors Of Tesco
Competitors of Tesco PLC
The competitors of Tesco PLC are interested in the level of revenue and profit due to being able to
make decisions to improve themselves as a business. For example, cheaper prices. As the
competitors will need to find a way to attract customers from Tesco PLC for them to survive against
the competitors. Other interests from the competitors would be to have a competitive edge and the
changes in trends and technology. Also, to be the best in the industry of supermarket.
A competitor such as ASDAmay have conflicts with the workers for not being paid well enough.
This is a conflict because the workers could go somewhere else that s similar for a better wage
where the owners would reinvest into the wages of the workers. Another conflict may be with
the competitors over who s the best. For example, competing who has the best profit. This is a
conflict because of wanting to the best and attract the most customers for profit. Also, a conflict
may be with the customers by restricting choice, deals and higher prices. For example, only a
small variety of clothes. This is a conflict because the customers will go somewhere else for
buying products such as clothes for cheaper and more choice so then more customers will be
attracted. Therefore, there would be more profit.

U.s. Balance Of Payment Deficit
Sustainability of U.S. Balance of Payment Deficit The U.S. has been running a trade deficit
consistently since the early 1980s. There have been minor recessions from 1980 to 2008. The
Great Recession starting as a result of complex financial products, which masked debt risk
(McGahey, 2014). The Great Recession was not a result of trade deficit itself. The question
naturally arises; can the U.S. maintain trade deficits indefinitely? Overall, Carbaugh argues that
there is no economic reason why the United States cannot continue to sustain current account
deficits (Carbaugh, 2013). Similarly, Karczmar quoting Herb Stein suggests that if the U.S.
deficit is a problem, and there is no solution to the problem, then there is no problem (Karczmar,
2004, p. 9). There are risks in maintaining chronic deficits, however. The focus turns to analyzing
if the benefits outweigh the risks, and if not, what can be done to reduce the deficit without
negatively impacting the U.S. economy overall. Both Carbaugh, and Karczmar s risk assessments,
options for keeping or reducing the deficit, and impacts of deficit reduction are explored below.
Carbaugh explains that the U.S. media and trade unions myopically focus on merchandise trade
imbalance while glossing over the fact that services balance has been positive (Carbaugh, 2013).
The discussion turns towards services jobs paying less than manufacturing jobs. Jobs that have
been created post the recession are lower paying jobs

Human Cloning Should be Condemned Essays
Human Cloning Should be Condemned
On November 25, 2001, the news that a firm called Advanced Cell Technology had created human
embryos by cloning added new urgency to Congress s and the nation s deliberations on this issue.
This past summer, by a 265 to 162 margin, the House of Representatives passed a carefully worded
ban on human cloning (H.R. 2505) which President Bush has said he will sign into law. The
leadership of the Senate nonetheless has refused to take action on this measure, or even to consider
a temporary moratorium on human cloning research. Further delay will only encourage some
researchers to take further irresponsible steps toward the laboratory manufacture and destruction of
human life. Such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When cloning is done to pursue medical research, the reduction of human life to a mere instrument
is even more complete, for a new human being is created solely to be destroyed for his or her
cells and tissues. Even if medical benefits could be derived from such destruction, it is never
morally permissible to achieve good ends through evil actions.
Neither practice should be allowed in a society that claims to respect inherent human dignity. As a
representative of the Holy See recently stated to a committee of the United Nations General
Assembly: The act of cloning... is actually a form of imposing dominion over another human
being which denies the human dignity of the child and makes him or her a slave to the will of
others (31 Origins, December 6, 2001, p. 439).
Evasions and misstatements have entered the public debate to obscure this moral issue. At a recent
Senate hearing, even the scientists who published articles about their success in cloning human
embryos tried to avoid the word embryo and even the word cloning to hide the reality of what they
are doing. The fact remains that when somatic cell nuclear transfer is used to initiate embryonic
development, a new human embryo is created with the same genetic constitution as another human
being. While some may wish to debate the moral status of this new human

Summary of Blue Collar Brilliance by Mike Rose. Blue collar jobs are often viewed as a reserve

associated with blue collar jobs is higher than the society would like to appreciate and it does not
necessarily have to be acquired from formal education. The society has failed to see how those in
blue collar jobs link what they do with what they see, linking the muscle to the brain. Rose recounts

They also allowed the outdated technology to be maintained instead of replacing it with new
technology. The organizational structure created problems for the systems used at Methodist as
well. All the departments using the old system had no problem internally, but they were not
connected with any other departments. There was no common database and processes. For
example, different departments used different patient identifiers and when physicians needed
information on a patient s history, they could not get it from the various computers because the
patient was identified differently in each of them. This created a lot of dissatisfaction for both the
doctors and the patients. Technologically they were dependent on an outdated system which
created a backlog of five to seven months. Further, the mainframe system could only be accessed
from terminals inside the hospital which made it inaccessible to doctors, patients and other
interested parties. The system could only keep current information on patients formally admitted
for a week and if older records were required one had to go look at the paper records. All of these
created a disorganized and fragmented working environment.
Process Evaluation
Zerrenner suggested they create a short term task force of 25 members to determine an appropriate
solution instead of using the IS

A Brief Note On Myocardial Infarction Is Defined By The...
Myocardial Infarction is defined by the American Heart Association as the damaging or death of
an area of the heart muscle (myocardium) resulting from a blocked blood supply to that area
medical term for a heart attack. (AHA) A heart attack occurs when a section of the heart muscle
dies or gets damaged because of reduced blood supply . (CDC) The longer the heartgoes without
the necessary blood supply to keep it beating the more likely the heart will be severely damaged
and death may occur. Atherosclerosismore commonly known as plaque is a buildup of cholesterol
and fats in the blood vessels. Those can break free and form a blood clot which can cause
blockages in the arteries which carries oxygen rich blood to the heart. When... Show more content

Although we may not be able to control all the contributing factors that may lead to heart attacks
like family history and aging, there are other factors that are completely in our power to change.
We can control the behavior that leads to obesity, along with refrain from smoking and heavy
drinking. Regular exercise, a good diet and getting plenty of rest and controlling our blood
pressure are a few good things we can do to reduce the risk factors dramatically.
Men and women share the same factors that contribute to having a heart attack, while the
symptoms they display are completely different. The classic signs of a heart attack occurring
with men are chest pain, shortness of breath and upper body discomfort. Chest pain can range
from feelings of heartburn to severe pain in the side or center of the chest. It can be a constant
pain, or may come and go in waves. It also might feel like someone is squeezing the chest or like
there is a heavy weight on the chest. Sometimes experiencing shortness of breath is the only sign
of a heart attack. Other times it can be accompanied by the chest pain, and may happen even when
you are resting or relaxing. The upper body pain can be in your jaw, arm, shoulder, back, neck or
stomach but only above the naval. Different people can have different combinations of symptoms,
while some people have no symptoms at all.
Some of the signs of a heart attack in women differ from men in several ways, like having cold

Statutory Rape Laws
There are debates on whether or not the laws for statutory rape are strict enough. The age of
consensual sex varies from state to state. In some states the age of consent is 16 while others
start at the age of 17. Though many of these teens may be physically ready to engage in sex,
many of them are not mentally prepared. In their article, Enforce Statutory Rape Laws to Curb
Teen Sex , Kathleen Sylvester and Jonathan O Connell talk about relationships between 12, 13 and
14 year old girls and sexually mature men who are inherently unequal, often coercive and almost
always damaging. Many of these girls find themselves engaging in sexual activities with much
older men. Until stricter laws are put into place, as well as parents explaining these... Show more

Bill Hughley, Executive Director of the Rockdale Coalition for Children and Families, said state
wide statistics illustrate that high risk sexual behavior among teenagers is a growing problem as
young teenagers begin to experiment with sex with people much older than them (Jones, par 4).
Many of these teens are engaging in sex not realizing that if both partners are not within the same
age bracket they could be committing a crime. There is an exception for teenagers convicted of
statutory rape and child molestation included as part of so called Romeo and Juliet Laws

Why People Shouldn T Live Near Volcanoes
Volcanoes
People shouldn t live near volcanoes because they are very dangerous and could erupt at anytime
causing pyroclastic flows, lahars, and landslides. The volcano eruption in Tambora, Indonesia, in
1815, killed around 92,000 people due to these events that happen when a volcano erupts.
One reason why people shouldn t live by volcanoes are pyroclastic flows, pyroclastic flows are
high speed avalanches of hot ash, rock fragments, and gases. These pyroclastic flows which can
reach 1,500 degrees fahrenheit and move 100 150 mile per hour that are capable of knocking
down and burning anything in its path (Pacific Disaster Center). More than 2,000 people died from
pyroclastic flow surges during the 1982 eruption of El Chichon in southern mexico. ... Show more

Lahars can travel up to 50 miles per hour at one time. Over 21,000 people died in armero colombia
in a lahar bodies and bones were found years later. Lahars commonly reach 20 40 miles per hour
(Pacific Disaster Center).
The third reason why people shouldn t live by volcanoes is landslides a landslide is a rapid
downhill movement of rocks, ice, and snow. Heavy rainfall can cause landslides to ocurre not
just volcanic eruptions. Volcanoes are suscept to landslide because they are composed of layers of
weak fragmented volcanic rocks that tower above the surrounding terrain (Pacific Disaster
Center). Landslides can very from small rocks, ice, and snow to millions of pounds of rock, ice,
and snow at one time.
Some people view volcanoes as great land formations to live by because they produce geothermal
energy. Geothermal energy means natural energy form the earth. The energy that is made is steam
that is very hot which has to be filtered first due to all of the bad ash particles and bad gases that
are in the steam. Countries such as Iceland make extensive use of geothermal power with
approximately two thirds of Iceland s electricity coming from steam powered turbines (The

Building A Computer That Can Handle Any Game
Computers consist of many different parts that, in order to perform a specific task, have to work
in unison. It s becoming more and more popular to build a PC rather than buying a pre assembled
one because many companies just rip people off. My fascination with building computers peaked
when I tried to play a game called Minecraft, but instead of the game loading up as it did on my
friend s computer, on mine it kept crashing. Minecraft is a game where players are all united in
one world where they have to work in order to survive. Unfortunately, my antique computer
couldn t handle this simple game; therefore, I never had the opportunity to play it. So I decided to
build a super computer that can handle any game. From that day on my passion for computers
extended towards a whole new level. Since I had little understanding about computers I needed to
find a way to jumpstart my knowledge. Even before determining what type of computer I wanted
to build, I had to first study computers, how they work and the different functions of all the
components. Researching online and watching numerous How to videos provided many answers to
my questions. Having a stronger foundation in computer assembly, I decided to finally step foot
into the realm of building. I switched on my computer and proceeded to the Newegg website,
which is a trusted computer equipment manufacturer. Pictures and descriptions filled the page as it
was done loading, and I proceeded to scroll through the

Evaluation And Verification Of Software Testing
Abstract:
Now a days in a commercial industry like IT, developing a software at an optimized cost is very
much necessary and that pressure is always there on each and every organization. And Software
testing forms integral part of any software life cycle. Hence, selecting the right tool for test
automation at the lowest cost possible is always important and very significant. In this project I
would like to work on comparing 2 popular functional test automation tools namely Quick Test Pro
which is a licensed tool and Selenium, an open and free source by considering various factors
other than cost which is only a price of tool. In longer run I assume even though QTP is a licensed
tool it provides more flexibility and can be useful in much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There are many existing tools like Quality Center which is licensed by HP. All the stages are
designed and implemented manually from requirement analysis, designing test plan, developing test
scenarios, writing test cases, executing the test cases, defect reporting etc. The problems with
manual testing are time consuming and non reusable and no scripting facility, manual effort
required and few errors are uncovered [1]. Manual Testing is preferred to review the application
requirements, and to create the High Level design Documents and Low level design Documents [3].
On the contrast, Software Automation means automatic software design. In software development
it is significant to liberate software engineers from doing same tedious work multiple times with the
assistance of tools. Automation testing approach makes use of various tools based on the testing
requirement of the Application under Test (AUT). In Automation testing tester runs the script on
the testing tool and testing is done. The tester may or may not know the inside details of the
software module under test [9]. Therefore white box testing or black box testing can be used.
White box testing is highly effective in detecting and resolving problems, because bugs can often
be found before they cause trouble [11]. White box testing is the process of giving the input to the
system and checking how the system processes the input and generated the required

Charles Taylor And The Civil War
Liberia has suffered two major civil wars. The first civil war happened from 1989 until 1997. In
1980, Samuel Doe had led a coup d Г©tat to overthrow the government of Tubman. In 1985,
elections were held in the country, and it was considered to be highly fraudulent. A coup was
organized, but it was not successful. In 1989, Charles Taylor arrived in the country from Ivory
Coast and led an uprising against the government of Samuel Doe. During the uprising, two factions
arose with one staying with Taylor and the other supporting Prince Johnson. Johnson fought for the
capital, and he executed Doe while taking the city. The emerging conflicts saw Taylor and Johnson
fighting over the control of Monrovia. The civil warled to over 200,000 deaths. After the election
of Taylor, peace reigned for two years before the second civil war started. The war began in 1999
when a rebel group that was backed by Guinea, which was a neighboring country, invaded northern
Liberia. The Liberians United for Reconciliation and Democracy (LURD) fought against Taylor
forces. Civilians were the most affected because they were between the two warring factions. In
2003, another rebel group was formed known as Movement for Democracy in Liberia. This group
emerged from the south and by mid 2003, the government controlled only a third of the country.
The two rebel group oversaw the deaths of thousands of people. Much more were displaced.
Currently, the population of Liberia consists of more than 51%

Essay On Bellamy s
What consumer thinks about Bellamy s organic company?
The Australian company Bellamy s organic formula has huge demand as per various news articles
and reports published all over the news. Compared to its competitors, cost of Bellamy s formula
has been reasonable and also known to be the best in quality. These two factors have made Bellamy
s, the most competitive and the largest supplier of baby formula in Australia. There weren t any
allegations against the company regarding the quality of the product supplied, the price at which the
product retailed or even the company s relations with its customers.
Due to the ongoing scarcity for baby formula, there have been several issues the company had to
deal with. One of the major concerns is the retailers. Bellamy s Organic realized that its retailers
were making huge profits off the sales of its baby formula. In order to keep the price reachable to
common man, Bellamy s decided to take matters into its own hands. They launched an online retail
store from which consumers can order the formula directly and ... Show more content on

the government and the company realized it, Bellamy s Organic baby formula was in huge demand
in the grey markets of other countries. As soon as the government and company noticed the
situation, several restrictions were imposed on the purchase and transport of the tins along with the
passengers. This move by the government received immense criticism from the consumers from
other countries while the consumers from Australia welcomed this move as it restricted the formula

Visual Illusions Essay
My project is over visual effects and how the eye works. This project was chosen because I have
always wondered how the human eye works and Visual trickery. Also because sometimes some
visual illusions are impossible to figure out and are really cool so I am very interested on how they

Analysis Of Sears Holding Corporation ( Shld )
Introduction
Sears Holding Corporation (SHLD) is in need of a marketing innovation. SHLD s nine straight
quarterly losses is a prime example of how their lack of marketing contributes to their lack of
profits (Elejalde Ruiz, 2014). It is clear that SHLD s prices are significantly different than their
competitors. In some cases, SHLD offers prices that are 50% higher than Wal Mart and Target
(Matarese, 2013). The high level of competition and pricing may cause SHLD to lose business and
lose control of their bargaining power. SHLD s current marketing scheme (loyalty program) seems
to be working; however, in order to accurately access SHLD s marketing needs, a survey has been
dispersed. In addition to the survey, research has been completed ... Show more content on

Data Ordering Analysis
Once the data from the survey was properly analyzed, I began to order responses depending upon
the answer to the question. One very important question that needed to be acknowledged was the
age of the customer; the age of SHLD shoppers needs to be addressed so that SHLD can
effectively market towards a target market that shows interest in their organization. Over 40% of
the survey recipients were between the ages of 30 48. While 32% of survey recipients were
under 30 years old. These results show that the majority of SHLD s customers are older, yet a
younger crowd still shows an interest. The next part of the survey that needs to be analyzed is the
question pertaining to prices. Only 5% of the survey recipients thought that SHLD offered low
prices. This leaves me to believe that even though the majority of the customers think that SHLD
do not have low prices, they are loyal to the brand. However, lowering prices in some way, shape,
or form needs occur to retain loyal customers.
After being asked whether or not SHLD offered low prices, survey recipients were then asked to
rate the levels of savings from shop your way rewards . This loyalty program is supposed to give
store credit for purchasing certain items. The survey results proved that the majority of individuals
are not saving much at all. 68%

The Act has been lauded as an immense upheaval of consumer law due to the integration of eight existing pieces of legislation into one. The complicated regulations regarding goods and services that consumers and businesses struggle to comprehend will no longer apply under the Act. A consumeris an individual who is not acting for the purpose of a business and outside that individual s trade or profession. Shoppers are now guaranteed a full refund up to 30 days after the purchase of the defective product. This demand for a full refund with a fixed time limit provides better protection for consumers as the duration was previously unclear and legitimate claims could be rejected by businesses due to prior legislation only providing refunds if within a reasonable time. This time limit is provided for under Section 22(3) which gives the consumer the right to reject the goods. After 30 days, retailers will be given one opportunity to repair or replace the defective product and this is dependent on the customer. The CRA now incorporates a three tier system to resolve any problems between the consumer and the trader. The degree and nature of the remedies available will depend on the amount of time the consumer has owned the product or on the type of service provided. The first step is when the goods are not satisfactory, in which consumers are entitled to reject them, as provided under Section 22. A full refund can be claimed and must be given without undue delay and this has been covered under Section 20. The second step occurs when the consumer has either lost the chance or not chosen to reject the goods. Under Section 23, the consumer is entitled to claim a repair or replacement of the goods. Nancy Scheper Hughes lived in this small village in order to gain perspective to why there was such a large number of schizophrenic cases within Ireland, and also why such a large percent were unmarried males. She wanted to dissect the issue of why these individuals were so prone to schizophreniaand what cultural factors cause these high rates. The labeling theory explains how a community or culture defines deviant behavior, and the proper diagnosis to treating the individual. This can be seen in An Cloch an, where psychiatric problems are rarely made by the villager himself (Scheper Hughes 161). Although initial hospitalization is rarely in acted by the individual, the patient eventually internalizes his behavior as deviant and will identify himself as insane once institutionalized. However, the labeling theory can only be used within the definitions of the culture, since different cultures will define abnormal behavior differently. In the context of some Non Western cultures, symptoms of schizophrenia are praised, and those who may hear voices or hallucinate are deemed as spiritual, and given the role of prophet or shaman within the culture. Although schizophrenic symptoms are revered in some cultures, within Ireland there is not only a stigma to the patient, but to the family as well (Scheper Hughes 283).Scheper Hughes explains that schizophrenia is a family condition; to the extent where there is a pathology for the schizophrenic mothers . Defining the mothers of schizophrenic patients as obsessive, sexually and emotionally immature, repressed, guilt ridden and ignoring the needs and demands of their children (Scheper Hughes 257). • 9. How Fats Can Provide Energy For Exercise Fats can provide energy for exercise, especially when the intensity of the exercise is light and even moderate. All people need some fat for producing cell membranes, for their skin, hormones production, and transport of fat soluble vitamins. The Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range for fats is between 20% and 35% of the total daily calories. Other organizations such as the American Heart Association or the National Cholesterol Education Program have recommended a lower fat percentage. They both recommend a limit of thirty percent or less for total fats. For Roger, a long distance runner who also does a fair amount of weight lifting, I would recommend a fat percentage on the lower side of the 20 to 35% range, simply to allow sufficient calories for carbohydrates (to fuel those long runs) and protein to build up his muscles as he weight trains. Since Roger needs to consume a higher quantity of calories to avoid an energy deficit and weight loss, he ll still be consuming substantial fat calories. This will allow him to eat oily fish such as salmon, which has omega 3 fats, linked to reducing inflammation, which is important for an older athlete. Just as important as the total quantity of fat, it is essential to minimize the daily amount of saturated fats, especially hydrogenated / trans fats. For the above reasons, I recommend Roger consume only 20 to 25 percent of his daily calories from fat. When he is carbo loading before a race his twice per month long ... The IMT defined crimes against humanity as murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation...or persecutions on political, racial, or religious grounds (Trials). Murder, extermination, persecutions all occurred during the Holocaust. Nonetheless the Nazis tried to hide what was going on in Germany. After Soviet Union s attack in eastern Belarus, the Germans began moving all the prisoners in every concentration camp in Europe. The Nazi did not want the public, especially the Allies, to know the stories in these camps. They viewed these prisoners as labors and bargain chips (Death Marches) and treated those poor men and women s lives as dust under their feet. They kept the prisoners alive only because they were hostages , and Germans needed those labors to work for them in order to continue fighting the war; in short, the prisoners were still useful to the Nazis. Fortunately, no matter how hard the Germans tried to cover up their crimes, the Allies found enough evidence for the trial after World War II. After the Allied troops captured the concentration camps, the survivors testified and provided evidence for British officials to use on the trials of Nazi war criminals (Testimony). The principal offences related to money laundering in Australia are contained in division 400 of the Criminal Code Act 1995(Cth) (the Criminal Code), which applies to both proceeds and instruments of crime. Recognising the wide array of channels used to launder funds, the provision is framed in broad terms and has been relied on to prosecute individuals in a variety of circumstances. The trucking industry has been a leading factor in moving goods since the 1900 s. Without it, the United States will die in a minimum of 3 days. As for my thoughts on the matter, I believe the government needs to start deregulating this industry. Many veteran drivers are in their retirement years and we will need an influx of new drivers to take the helm. But unfortunately, many of these new drivers are leaving the industry because they cannot handle the pressure put on them by the government. Alexander also argues that today s programs depicting gangsta rap or any gangsta related exploitation are not far from the old minstrel shows from the Jim Crow era. Alexander explains that these programs cater to white audiences, and almost always portray the usual stereotypes that people expect from black men. Alexander goes on to suggest that society should embrace them instead of stigmatizing them. • 19. The Coefficient Of Friction And The Deceleration Of An Object Research Question How is the coefficient of friction between two surfaces related to the deceleration of an object? Introduction Besides for the fact that friction is a drag (pun intended), humans have utilised this motion opposing force, to its greatest potential. One of the most prevalent things, though generally perceived as overused, the automobile, could be considered the epitome of friction utilization. The principles of friction applies to everything, especially that to that of a car s tires. Suppose if they were perfectly smooth, and to make matters worse, the road was perfectly smooth as well, the vehicle would keep moving forward when the driver attempted to stop, due to Newton s law of inertia. For this reason, tires are designed with raised tread to maintain a high degree of friction, gripping the road tightly and dispersing water when the roadway is wet. Friction is quite fundamental, seemingly elemental, the automobile is riddled with friction usage. From the friction caused by tyres to the friction in the car, making it possible to drive at all. The В¬capabilities do not end there, but with possibly the most underrated use of friction, a match, something any Neanderthal would have appreciated. Experiment 11 Reflection, The Dispersion Of Light PHYS 2240 August 10, 2015 Experiment 11 Reflection, Refraction, the Dispersion of Light, and Brewster s angle Zhecheng shi Introduction In this lab we will figure out the connection between incidence angle and reflection angle using concave mirror and convex mirror at part A. In part B, we will determine the relationship between incidence angle and refraction angle for a light going through a rhombus prism. Rhombus prism, three way mirror, light source, and protractor will be used to determine the angle of a ray. After that, we do the part C to observe the dispersion using the acrylic rhomboid. • 21. The British And French Armies The British and French Armies adopted and modified this tactic as well to meet their battlefield needs. They developed time standards based on terrain. Optimally, the artillery and infantry should simultaneously advance approximately 100 yards every one to six minutes. Eventually shell variants were used for concealment as well. Originally only shrapnel shells were used. As the tactic progressed, artillery would fire smoke ahead of the high explosive rounds giving ultimate cover to the advancing infantry (Griffith, 141). After these tactics were employed during the battle in the Argonne forest, allied forces advanced quickly towards their objective and within ten days had beaten the German Army into almost full retreat. Never before had the American or allied forces fought a battle of such scale. However, once commanders that were not present at the battle relinquished control to Generals on the ground, the battle took a turn. New tactics were introduced, ill performing commanders were replaced, and Soldiers were given a chance to rest. Those factors gave allied forces the means necessary to continue successfully in the battle in the Argonne forest. During the Great War, the Army predominantly used the oldest of intelligence techniques. Espionage was dangerous and often lead to the death of those soldiers and spies behind enemy lines. She did not seem cruel to him then, nor beneficent, nor treacherous, nor wise. But she was indifferent, flatly indifferent. (Crane). This nonchalant aspect of nature dominates Stephen Crane s short story, The Open Boat, in order to highlight the meaning of the esoteric voice of the sea in view of mans blights and life itself. Crane s story portrays a group of shipwrecked men in a lifeboat, drifting on the ebbs and flows of uncertainty, held at the mercies of Nature s will. Crane also shows how The coldness of the water was sad; it was tragic (Crane), indicating that staying in the water too long would be tragic. Thus, by setting up this kind of imagery, Crane makes his reader think that the oiler was the one sure to survive due to his vigor and rapidity, while the others would meet their fate in the cold waters. It is ironic to the reader therefore, when the exact opposite happens: In the shallows, face downward, lay the oiler. (Crane) The oiler had died, while the others lived. This clearly shows the inscrutable influence of the nature s power as it interferes with life and death. Through this last bit of irony in the story, Crane gives delivers his final message to the reader that nature will have the final say. Literature review and Research Questions Research has illustrated that athletic competition has a strong influence on psychological development, impacting an individual s formation in areas such as self esteem, body image and overall well being (Anshel, 2000; Findlay Bowker, 2007; Haugen, Safvenbom Ommundsen, 201; Peden, Stiles, Vandehey Diekhoff, 2008). A large sector of this research has specifically analyzed the outcomes of negative experiences within athletics, especially those high in stress and therefore resulting in potentially detrimental consequences for athletes. A major source of stress within athletics is due to potential and veritable athletic injuries due to overuse, during game accidents and other competition/training related afflictions (Hanson, McCullagh Tonymon, 1992). Approximately 3 5 million injuries occur due to athletics each year (Smith, Smoll Ptacek, 1990), and the prevalence of such injuries suggests that the trauma experienced could pose a significant threat to athletes, both physically and psychologically, a phenomenon that warrants further investigation. For the past 30 years or so, research has evaluated the manner with which people handle stressful situations, which include athletic injury, and across the literature it has been consistently and reliably found that people vary in the manner with which they express well being across stressful life events (Carver, Scheier Weintraub,1989; DeLongis Holtzman, 2005; Smith, Smoll ... There have been minor recessions from 1980 to 2008. The Great Recession starting as a result of complex financial products, which masked debt risk (McGahey, 2014). The Great Recession was not a result of trade deficit itself. The question naturally arises; can the U.S. maintain trade deficits indefinitely? Overall, Carbaugh argues that there is no economic reason why the United States cannot continue to sustain current account deficits (Carbaugh, 2013). Similarly, Karczmar quoting Herb Stein suggests that if the U.S. deficit is a problem, and there is no solution to the problem, then there is no problem (Karczmar, 2004, p. 9). The focus turns to analyzing if the benefits outweigh the risks, and if not, what can be done to reduce the deficit without negatively impacting the U.S. economy overall. When cloning is done to pursue medical research, the reduction of human life to a mere instrument is even more complete, for a new human being is created solely to be destroyed for his or her cells and tissues. Even if medical benefits could be derived from such destruction, it is never morally permissible to achieve good ends through evil actions. Neither practice should be allowed in a society that claims to respect inherent human dignity. As a representative of the Holy See recently stated to a committee of the United Nations General Assembly: The act of cloning... is actually a form of imposing dominion over another human being which denies the human dignity of the child and makes him or her a slave to the will of others (31 Origins, December 6, 2001, p. 439). Evasions and misstatements have entered the public debate to obscure this moral issue. At a recent Senate hearing, even the scientists who published articles about their success in cloning human embryos tried to avoid the word embryo and even the word cloning to hide the reality of what they are doing. The fact remains that when somatic cell nuclear transfer is used to initiate embryonic development, a new human embryo is created with the same genetic constitution as another human being. While some may wish to debate the moral status of this new human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Summary Of Blue Collar Brilliance By Mike Rose Summary of Blue Collar Brilliance by Mike Rose. Blue collar jobs are often viewed as a reserve for those who do not attain the high education levels and most times considered of low intelligence. In the article, Blue Collar Brilliance, Rose suggests that the level of intelligence associated with blue collar jobs is higher than the society would like to appreciate and it does not necessarily have to be acquired from formal education. The society has failed to see how those in blue collar jobs link what they do with what they see, linking the muscle to the brain. Rose recounts of the days he spent watching his mother, a waitress go through her work effortlessly (Rose 209). She came up with a sequence to attend to the tables such that she... Workers have learned to devise ways that will simplify the mathematical functions to patterns and numbers that are applicable to their task. Loveday became their new CEO. He brought in a whole new management team to help him implement new ideas and create a new culture there. His new CFO was in charge of the IS department and after discovering that the department was in shambles with no real direction, he hired Walter C. Zerrener to become the Chief Information Officer. Zerrener found that the Methodist Hospital had spent about $20 million to install a state of the art proprietary patient management system called TDS in 1970s but had done no upgradation after that . The IS department was solely focused on keeping the TDS ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They also allowed the outdated technology to be maintained instead of replacing it with new technology. The organizational structure created problems for the systems used at Methodist as well. All the departments using the old system had no problem internally, but they were not connected with any other departments. There was no common database and processes. For example, different departments used different patient identifiers and when physicians needed information on a patient s history, they could not get it from the various computers because the patient was identified differently in each of them. This created a lot of dissatisfaction for both the doctors and the patients. Technologically they were dependent on an outdated system which created a backlog of five to seven months. Further, the mainframe system could only be accessed from terminals inside the hospital which made it inaccessible to doctors, patients and other interested parties. The system could only keep current information on patients formally admitted for a week and if older records were required one had to go look at the paper records. All of these created a disorganized and fragmented working environment. Process Evaluation Zerrenner suggested they create a short term task force of 25 members to determine an appropriate solution instead of using the IS ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although we may not be able to control all the contributing factors that may lead to heart attacks like family history and aging, there are other factors that are completely in our power to change. We can control the behavior that leads to obesity, along with refrain from smoking and heavy drinking. Regular exercise, a good diet and getting plenty of rest and controlling our blood pressure are a few good things we can do to reduce the risk factors dramatically. Men and women share the same factors that contribute to having a heart attack, while the symptoms they display are completely different. The classic signs of a heart attack occurring with men are chest pain, shortness of breath and upper body discomfort. Chest pain can range from feelings of heartburn to severe pain in the side or center of the chest. It can be a constant pain, or may come and go in waves. It also might feel like someone is squeezing the chest or like there is a heavy weight on the chest. Sometimes experiencing shortness of breath is the only sign of a heart attack. Other times it can be accompanied by the chest pain, and may happen even when you are resting or relaxing. The upper body pain can be in your jaw, arm, shoulder, back, neck or stomach but only above the naval. Different people can have different combinations of symptoms, while some people have no symptoms at all. Why People Shouldn T Live Near Volcanoes Volcanoes People shouldn t live near volcanoes because they are very dangerous and could erupt at anytime causing pyroclastic flows, lahars, and landslides. The volcano eruption in Tambora, Indonesia, in 1815, killed around 92,000 people due to these events that happen when a volcano erupts. One reason why people shouldn t live by volcanoes are pyroclastic flows, pyroclastic flows are high speed avalanches of hot ash, rock fragments, and gases. These pyroclastic flows which can reach 1,500 degrees fahrenheit and move 100 150 mile per hour that are capable of knocking down and burning anything in its path (Pacific Disaster Center). It s becoming more and more popular to build a PC rather than buying a pre assembled one because many companies just rip people off. My fascination with building computers peaked when I tried to play a game called Minecraft, but instead of the game loading up as it did on my friend s computer, on mine it kept crashing. Minecraft is a game where players are all united in one world where they have to work in order to survive. Unfortunately, my antique computer couldn t handle this simple game; therefore, I never had the opportunity to play it. So I decided to build a super computer that can handle any game. From that day on my passion for computers extended towards a whole new level. Since I had little understanding about computers I needed to find a way to jumpstart my knowledge. Even before determining what type of computer I wanted to build, I had to first study computers, how they work and the different functions of all the components. Researching online and watching numerous How to videos provided many answers to my questions. Having a stronger foundation in computer assembly, I decided to finally step foot into the realm of building. I switched on my computer and proceeded to the Newegg website, which is a trusted computer equipment manufacturer. Pictures and descriptions filled the page as it was done loading, and I proceeded to scroll through the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Evaluation And Verification Of Software Testing Abstract: Now a days in a commercial industry like IT, developing a software at an optimized cost is very much necessary and that pressure is always there on each and every organization. And Software testing forms integral part of any software life cycle. Hence, selecting the right tool for test automation at the lowest cost possible is always important and very significant. In this project I would like to work on comparing 2 popular functional test automation tools namely Quick Test Pro which is a licensed tool and Selenium, an open and free source by considering various factors other than cost which is only a price of tool. There are many existing tools like Quality Center which is licensed by HP. All the stages are designed and implemented manually from requirement analysis, designing test plan, developing test scenarios, writing test cases, executing the test cases, defect reporting etc. The problems with manual testing are time consuming and non reusable and no scripting facility, manual effort required and few errors are uncovered [1]. Manual Testing is preferred to review the application requirements, and to create the High Level design Documents and Low level design Documents [3]. On the contrast, Software Automation means automatic software design. In software development it is significant to liberate software engineers from doing same tedious work multiple times with the assistance of tools. Automation testing approach makes use of various tools based on the testing requirement of the Application under Test (AUT). In Automation testing tester runs the script on the testing tool and testing is done. The tester may or may not know the inside details of the software module under test [9]. Therefore white box testing or black box testing can be used. White box testing is highly effective in detecting and resolving problems, because bugs can often be found before they cause trouble [11]. • 46. Charles Taylor And The Civil War Liberia has suffered two major civil wars. The first civil war happened from 1989 until 1997. In 1980, Samuel Doe had led a coup d Г©tat to overthrow the government of Tubman. In 1985, elections were held in the country, and it was considered to be highly fraudulent. A coup was organized, but it was not successful. In 1989, Charles Taylor arrived in the country from Ivory Coast and led an uprising against the government of Samuel Doe. During the uprising, two factions arose with one staying with Taylor and the other supporting Prince Johnson. Johnson fought for the capital, and he executed Doe while taking the city. The emerging conflicts saw Taylor and Johnson fighting over the control of Monrovia. The civil warled to over 200,000 deaths. After the election of Taylor, peace reigned for two years before the second civil war started. The war began in 1999 when a rebel group that was backed by Guinea, which was a neighboring country, invaded northern Liberia. The Liberians United for Reconciliation and Democracy (LURD) fought against Taylor forces. Civilians were the most affected because they were between the two warring factions. In 2003, another rebel group was formed known as Movement for Democracy in Liberia. This group emerged from the south and by mid 2003, the government controlled only a third of the country. It is clear that SHLD s prices are significantly different than their competitors. In some cases, SHLD offers prices that are 50% higher than Wal Mart and Target (Matarese, 2013). The high level of competition and pricing may cause SHLD to lose business and lose control of their bargaining power. One very important question that needed to be acknowledged was the age of the customer; the age of SHLD shoppers needs to be addressed so that SHLD can effectively market towards a target market that shows interest in their organization. Over 40% of the survey recipients were between the ages of 30 48. While 32% of survey recipients were under 30 years old. These results show that the majority of SHLD s customers are older, yet a younger crowd still shows an interest. The next part of the survey that needs to be analyzed is the question pertaining to prices. Only 5% of the survey recipients thought that SHLD offered low prices. This leaves me to believe that even though the majority of the customers think that SHLD do not have low prices, they are loyal to the brand. However, lowering prices in some way, shape, or form needs occur to retain loyal customers. After being asked whether or not SHLD offered low prices, survey recipients were then asked to rate the levels of savings from shop your way rewards .
