The, The And Of The Shepherds, Jacob Jordaens, 1657, And...
There is often a recurring theme of power in the history of art, whether in religious or aristocratic
painting. Over the break, I visited the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, North Carolina
to view various works of art. The two pieces I chose to observe and discuss are The Adoration of
the Shepherds, Jacob Jordaens, 1657, and The Feast of Esther, Jan Lievens, 1625. Both of these
paintings are oil paintings on canvas, but they look drastically different. Power is portrayed in
similar ways through the context and details of the paintings, but there are also key differences in
both the formal qualities and the compositions. Light, gesture, and adornment are three of the key
components in these paintings. Jacob Jordaens was born in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The palette used by Lievens is extraordinarily bright, colorful painting. It is an extremely detailed
painting, some of which comes from the painterly technique used in the brushwork, and there are
visible brush strokes that add to the details of the painting. In the museum, the piece was hanging
where the viewer s eye level is approximately in the middle of the painting.
In The Adoration of the Shepherds, Jordaens uses light and color to highlight the most important
figures in the painting, Mary and the Christ child. Chiaroscuro is used to model the figures three
dimensionally from light to dark, mainly on the brightest figures. In the less important background
figures, there is a sfumato, or hazy effect, in which there are less precise lines and more of a
smoky look. Jordaens focuses the light in a dramatic, theatrical way on the Christ child and Mary
holding him. It is clear that the spotlight is meant for them and they are the most important figures
and the attention should be focused on them. They also are more detailed and have more crisp,
clear outlines and details than the shepherds and others surrounding them. The composition is
stacked in a way that makes it very crowded. Animals and people are dispersed around the main
characters, seemingly on the same level and of almost equal significance. The lighting shows the
power and importance of Christ and Mary because they are illuminated, therefore attention is drawn
mostly to them

Contemporary Art And Artistic Practices
Historical Context The Community based Artistic Practices are not a complete novelty in
contemporary art, their rhetoric are being used as strategic tools, to support discourse such as
democracy, equality, social justice among other, from the 1960s on a explicit way. Even less, this
social turn , understood as an ethical shift by artist and critics who focus their attention on the
aspect of social usefulness of the art practices, characterized by an increase of art projects that
emphasize participation, dialogue and community engagement to activate the public sphere
attempting to offer new social models to live together; appear like a leitmotif along the theory and

This artВґs condition was throwing into crisis with the emergency of avant garde movements
from the late 19th century in Europe, because these movements recognized on this status
autonomy of art a lack of self criticism by art, not only in the art institution in its separation from
the praxis of life ; but also to bourgeois society as a whole. In other words, the avant garde is
understood as a form of self consciousness of artistic field, with a very clear interest to break the
artВґs autonomy, while separate form of production, as a necessary condition to redirect the art into
life. According to Peter BГјrger, with the reintegration of art into praxis proposes a revolution in
the life, which causes a revolution in the art. As BГјrger states, the avant garde movements that
sought to break with the bourgeois autonomy of art and thereby apply a strong self criticism to art
institutionally were: the Russian Constructivism, closely linked with the Revolution of 1917;
Dadaism and its negation of art as institution; and the Surrealism. Nonetheless, after the World War
II in the middle of the 20th century, the avant garde schism became a crisis, failing in its quest to
eliminate the division between art and life and its critical self consciousness about this, which
meant its co option by the art institution,

Compare And Contrast Procedural And Substantive Due Process
As one analyzes the differences between intent procedural and substantive due process, the
purpose of due process must be determined. The purpose of due process is assuring that no
person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law . This is the only
theory that is vital to individual rights and freedoms than due process(Snyder, 2015). However, due
process is not only the opportunity to be heard, but to extend justice and fairness to the individual in
relationship to government. Hence, due process protects individuals from the encroachment of the
state on person right and interest (Snyder, 2012). Because, it is created in the provision of a
fundamental balance between the rights of individuals and the exercise of the authority of the state
(Snyder, 2012).
The intent of procedural due process is a proposed step that must be followed while allowing
student and school personnel the opportunity in seeking redress for the alleged before any action
is taken against them ( Essex, 2012, pg. 83). The purpose of this concept is for procedural
fairness. In contrast, the intent of substantive due process is the process that ensures that a valid
reason must be in existence before an individual is deprived of life, liberty or property. So the
means of achieving this objective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Passwords
Current authentication systems suffer from many weaknesses. Textual passwords are commonly
used. Users tend to choose meaningful words from dictionaries, which make textual passwords
easy to break and vulnerable to dictionary or brute force attacks. Many available graphical
passwords have a password space that is less than or equal to the textual passwordspace.Smart cards
or tokens can be stolen. Many biometric authentications have been proposed. However, users tend to
resist using biometrics because of the intrusiveness and the effect on their privacy. Moreover,
biometrics cannot be revoked.
According to research paper 3D Password A Secure Tool published by Banita Chadha in the year
2014, 3D is based on virtual environment. It includes the 3 axis x, y, and z axis. That is the
password should be in three axis along x,y,z axis. her is a term of virtual uniqueness. It includes the

Summary Of Marcus Luttrell s Lone Survivor
In the year 2005 the United States military authorized Operation Red Wing, the objective was to
disrupt local Taliban activity. A four man team of United States Navy SEALs were tasked with
surveillance and reconnaissance of the Ahamad Shah, the leader of the local Taliban forces, while
he was in his command post. The book Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell, a former Navy SEAL, is
his account of the Honor, Courage, and Commitment shown by his fellow Navy SEALs during
operation Red Wing. Marcus Luttrell graduated from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD
/S) class 228, he was assigned to SDV 1 during Operation Red Wing. In all 11 Navy SEALs and 8
United States Army Night Stalkers were killed during the operation.

The Four Stages Of Sleep (REM) Rapid Eye Movement
According to (Carpenter Huffman, 2012, p. 121), there are four stages of sleep; the first four
are called non REM state then the last and final state is called REM )Rapid Eye Movement).
When the sleep cycle starts it lasts an average of 1 2 hours; the first sleep cycle has relatively
short REM sleep followed by a long period of deep sleep. Later in the sleep cycle REM period
lengthen and deep sleep time decreases. Even though cats tend to sleep longer than human its shows
that they have slept similar patterns as humans, including sleep phases of REM stage. When human
enter REM stage, breathing becomes more rapid, irregular and shallow; the eyes start to move
rapidly back and forth. In this stage, the limb muscles become temporarily paralyzed.

Performance-Enhancing Drugs
Debating on whether Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs) should be legal is sports is a very
highly talked about topic. I personally, want to see them legalized in all sports above the high
school level. I feel at this age, the body will be done maturing and will be ready to take on the next
advanced level in making itself greater.
Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs) are the great leveler, being the tool for athletes to bridge the
unfair gap (Steadman). Athletes choose the amount of time and training they put in. This is the
choice of the individual which makes it fair to everyone (Savulescu and others). The determination,
effort, grit, and sweat that is put in, is the factor between who wants it and who does not
(Steadman). This shows that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As spectators, we push athletes to their absolute best, where doping is needed to reach those heights
(Steadman). Everyone wants to see the best competitor. Eventually, natural athletes will reach a
wall. Then there comes the question of how to keep sports interesting (Steadman). The PEDs would
increase playing competition and allow athletes to reach those heights to entertain us at a great level
(Hoffman). The people are complicit in turning the sport into an entertainment industry in which
winning is everything (Cashmore). Everyone wants to be a winner. Steroids improve the effects of
training, allowing them to produce more effective training (Steadman). The Anabolic Steroid,
Androgen, is used as a lower dosage. But is shows that muscular strength could be improved by
five to twenty percent (Savulescu and others). During the steroid era, 5693 home runs were hit.
This could be reproduced in the future if PEDs are legalized (Hoffman). Baseball should sponsor
the use of steroids. (Uni Wire) In 1992, Nicky Rabinowicz found out that Olympic athletes, in
general, believed most successful athletes were using banned substances (Savulescu and others).
This is a third reason why PEDS should be legalized in sports.
Furthermore, I want to encourage the reason to allowing PEDs in sports. From looking at the
present and seeing what the future holds is quite interesting. Competition will continue to increase
with the natural increase in athletes skills. Pushing again for more advantages and encouragements
for Performance Enhancing Drugs to le legalized. Thank

The Case of the Untouchable Water Carrier Essay
The Case of the untouchable water carrier Introduction:The caste system was and continues to
be a terrible reality for people in Europe and Asia. Even though it is not as prominent now as it
was before it was abolished, it still affects many people all around the world. To be born into a
status, one that you can never leave or outlive is a great tragedy. How does one come to terms
with knowing that a choice was never an option? It doesn t matter if all the laws changed today,
the fact remains that the human race is habitual: people will continue to operate based on what
they have done for years. The abolition of slavery and the caste system didn t mean that people
would stop doing it but merely meant that it was no longer legal to do... Show more content on

bank and should be reprimanded as such. However, as an MNE the bank will be aiming to keep
costs down and focus on keeping both customer and employee happy so the untouchable water
carrier will most likely be the one to feel the brunt of the reprimand. Conclusion/Managerial
Implication: As a manager at that bank Raman should have done more research on how the
lifestyle of that particular region operated compared to where he was transferring from. His
decision to hire the untouchable was not a wrong decision because, the fact still remains that the
caste system was abolished. However, if he had done his research he would have known that the
mindset of his staff was not up to par with his beliefs or the current law in regards to the caste
system. He is now in a predicament where he will either risk losing clients or renege on a
promise that he gave to Kishore by offering him the job in the first place. This is a lesson for other
MNE s as well because as they move into unknown territory they must thoroughly research the area
and the people that live there to understand the culture and to aid in an easy diffusion

A Plan For A University Facilities Project Manager
INTRODUCTION Teams, as discussed this semester, referred to individuals at one firm brought
together to, for example, complete a project, develop a new product, or define a new process.
However, I as a university facilities project manager, have a different sort of team; one consisting of
individuals from different firms brought together to complete a building project. How might the
principles of team building be utilized in my team consisting of end user group (who will occupy
the building), facilities operations staff, architect, and contractor or construction manager?
The construction industry has utilized a concept called partnering on large projects with the goal
of creating a cooperative environment to minimize conflicts which could result in claims or
litigation (GSA 2016). It is hoped to achieve this goal by creating an environment of trust and open
communication among the participants. Caltrans is a strong advocate of partnering; requiring the
process on all projects over $10 million (Caltrans 2013). They have an admirable field guide and
partnering training program. We also have PMI s Project ManagementBook of Knowledge
providing guidance in developing a project management plan (PMP). The PMP documents much of
what is covered in partnering sessions. Yet in reviewing the Caltrans field guide, creating PMPs,
reading partnering articles, and participating in partnering sessions myself; the process is missing
something.
That missing piece is true team

Analysis Of The Poem Lycidas By Paul J. Alpes
The traditional pastoral poems follow a creative style that romanticize rural life and landscapes,
which drifted away from industrialization. The quintessential pastoral poems have been described
by Paul J. Alpes as a double longing after innocence and happiness; that it is based on philosophical
antithesis of Art and Nature; that its universal idea is the Golden Age; that its fundamental motive
is hostility to urban life. (10). Some literary critics have made the assertion that Milton s poem
Lycidasfollows the traditional pastoralconventions, for instance, Samuel Johnson recognized the
poem as a traditional pastoral because it depicted an idealized life of rural leisure. Moreover, he
claims that Milton s pastoral poem is easy,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker challenges the customary idyllic landscape like the laurels and myrtles by
destructively picking the flowers and berries off the trees, instead of the speaker being grounded
in nature like the other speakers in traditional pastoral poems, he destroys it. Furthermore,
Milton turns the pastoral into one of mourning because the speaker s compulsion for disturbing
nature before season due all stems from the death of Lycidas who died in his prime . As the
poem continues, the speaker explains the romanticized pastoral landscape where he and Lycidas
were once shepherds: For were nursed upon the self same hill, / Fed the same flock, by the
fountain, shade, and rill. Together both, ere the high lawns appeared (23 25). These lines display
how the speaker can reach nostalgia with these pastoral fantasies that distance him away from
reality. However, the speaker soon leaves the romantic when he laments about Lycidas: And old
Damoetas loved to hear our song. / But O the heavy change, now thou art gone, (36 37). The
speaker being able to come back to reality demonstrates how the Milton is unable to emphasize the
traditional romantic pastoral setting of peace and joy because of the emotional anguish the speaker
has. Furthermore, Milton alludes to the fact that one must remove themselves from an idealized
world for them to grieve properly. The amount of control that the speaker had over his decision to
leave his pastoral fantasy is

This confirms what the literature has found as well. The jump serve is more likely to have a
decreased flight time, an increased ball velocity and a flatter projection angle. My hypothesis of
which serve would be considered better was confirmed, but I was surprised at the minimal
difference of each factor between each serve. I assumed that each factor would be significantly
different between the two serves. Based on my results, I can confirm that the jump serve is the
better volleyball serve in a competition setting. The reduced flight time allows competitors less
time to react to the ball, the increased ball velocity makes it more difficult to handle and control
and the flatter projection angle makes it more difficult to pass. Therefore, the jump serve is more
likely to earn points in a competition

Apparently, very little seems changed since the time of the Goffman s analysis. His search is not
entirely comparable with the GEMMA ones, because it refers to different times, contexts, and
media, but the majority of the detected representations has more than one point of contact with the
survey of the Canadian sociologist. In particular, the Goffman s role function, ie the association
between masculinity and positions of power and femininity and secondary tasks, often related to
the of the f home keeping and the care of the family, is also found in most of our sample,
populated by many housewives and few female workers.
Our data also confirm the Goffman s description of man as naturally placed in a working place, ...

old stereotypes not completely outdated in the Italian culture and too common in the television

Despite the expectations and the spread of the concerns in the Italian debate on gender and the

How Does Rap Music Affect Society
American Rappers have been perceived as artists who cannot do any good to society, because of
their lyrics or the music videos that they make, but that is only one small group of individual
rappers. Generalizing has never been a good thing, and that is exactly what these people do all
the time putting all rappers in the same category. How can some people be so ignorant and not
recognize the excellent music that has saved people from themselves? Out there right now there
are a lot of rappers that are always making beautiful music and this type of rap music has been
made since Hip Hop s beginnings. Making people believe that rap music is the worst thing that
has ever happened just makes the society unknowledgeable and doesn t allow that the good rap
music that has already inspired a lot of people to overcome their adversities reach and help even
more people. Rap music has always been categorized like the music that makes youth act
recklessly, and for that reason rappers are often seen as just as bad influence and nothing else.

Effects Of The Voting Rights Act Of 1965
The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was enacted into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson, its goal was
to break down the legal barriers at the state and local levels that prevented African Americans from
exercising their right to vote as it s supposed to be guaranteed under the 15th Amendment of the
U.S. Constitution. This law helped to disperse and reduce systematic discrimination that would
ultimately limit and prohibit African Americans from voting. An example of this being the literacy
tests. African Americans trying to vote would often get turned away by pollers saying that they got
the date, time etc. wrong or filled the application out incorrectly or give them the most difficult of

Laxus had heard about the only other known second generation dragon slayer. Before Nirvana

However, when Natsu and his team returned after taking down one of the corners of the infamous

But then the dragons happened, and suddenly he was one of the only people with the ability to

he was determined to do so. Last time he saw a dragon, Acnologia itself, even the power of four

Octopuses Research Paper
Octopuses are better at camouflage than any other animals. They can change their shape and color
to look like other creatures.
The best of these morphing creatures is the mimic octopus. It adopts the colors of a poisonous sea
snake and changes its body into a thin ribbon to scare predators away.
People have seen mimic octopuses look like lion fish, sea stars and other animals. When hungry, the
octopus takes the form of a crab. Crabs fooled by the display end up eaten.
Scientists and engineers are impressed by the octopuses. A team of Cornell University scientists
copied the mimic using sheets of rubber and mesh. The scientists got help from octopus expert
Roger Hanlon.

The papillae are what help an octopus use camouflage. The papillae go limp when an octopus
wants to decrease the drag of water against skin, allowing it to speed away. Then fleshy nubs can
appear, and the skin bulges. Octopuses can match the look of seaweed so closely that they become
almost invisible.
Itai Cohen, a writer of the new study, said he was amazed by videos of the shape changers. Such a
scene was filmed by Hanlon and posted online.
People can stare at an underwater scene and have no idea an octopus is there, Cohen said. Then it
changes color and shape. It appears out of nowhere, he said.
Cohen was impressed. That is just awesome, he thought. How the heck do we do that?
He and fellow Cornell scientist Robert Shepherd gave James Pikul the work of figuring it out.
Pikul was studying to be a professor at the time. Today he is a professor at the University of
Pennsylvania. Scientists and engineers have been trying to control the shape of soft, stretchable
materials, said Pikul. However, cheaply making these materials has been difficult.

century and continued through to the 19th century. The trade involved Europeans taking goods
from Europe such as weapons and fabric to Africa which they would trade for the brutal capture
of men, women and children from their homes and countries, these people would then be taken
to countries in north and south America on slave ships where they lived in terrible, cramped and
diseased conditions for months as they travelled through the middle passage. When they arrived
in America they would be forced to work in awful conditions on plantations in order to produce
goods such as sugar, cotton and tobacco. Which would then be transported back to Europe.
William Wilberforce was born in 1759. He grew up very privileged and became very popular and
well known for his eloquent, witty and powerful speeches and was elected to the house of
commons aged only 21. Wilberforce then used his platform to advocate for many causes such as
education reform. Wilberforce began to focus his efforts on the abolition of the slave trade

Drinking Age Essay
Drinking Age When teen agers turn 18, they are told that they are adults and are sent into the
world. They go to college, get a job, marry or join the military. They do grown up things like
vote, pay taxes and become parents. But they can t go to the pub for a beer because when it
comes to liquor, they are still just kids. Where s the fairness in the 21 and older drinking law?
First, it is necessary to question this law. Why is 21 the magical age that makes one intelligent and
mature enough to consume alcohol? Surely, some adults abuse alcohol and some teenagers would
be perfectly able to drink responsibly. This seemingly arbitrary number is associated with
adulthood, as if the day a person turns 21 they know everything and... Show more content on

When they have the opportunity to drink, they do so in an irresponsible manner because
drinking by these youth is seen as a badge of rebellion against authority and a symbol of
adulthood. Clearly, this kind of devious attitude does not encourage responsible drinking. While
young people in foreign countries learn to regard moderate drinking as an enjoyable social
activity, young Americans view it as something they have to sneak around to do. If 18 year olds
do not have legal access to even a beer in a public place, they are ill equipped to deal with the
responsibilities that come with drinking when they do have the right. The drinking age should
be lowered because the current age has no real basis. With a lowered drinking age, fewer
problems will be present. Safe drinking needs to be taught, along with drinking in moderation.
All of the arguments for having a raised drinking level or retaining the current one are weak. The
problems that make a drinking age limit necessary are better solved through a lowered drinking
level. Tightening the laws on underage drinking is wrong, as laws will still be broken and
people 20 years, 364 days and younger will continue to consume alcohol. The answer to the
problem of underage drinking is not to add more restrictions, rather, it is simple: get rid of the
underage part. With the thrill of breaking the law gone and the access to the bar granted, people,
especially college

Especially the patterns used for query processing follow an experimental behavior, which changes
so randomly that it cannot be anticipated. So, these type of environments cannot be handled by
offline indexing.
Online indexing and adaptive indexing are two approaches for designing a physical design
automatically in such dynamic and exploratory environments, but none of them handles the
problem adequately when isolated.
2.Clear statements of the solution(s) of the paper (up to 2 pages only):
The paper discusses about the problems faced when using the index tuning and a solution is
implemented to improve the performance of the database system called the holistic indexing, a
novel approach which automates the process of index tuning in dynamic environments. It requires
zero set up and tuning effort, depending on the adaptive index creation as a side effect of
processing the queries. The creation of Indices is done incrementally and partially.
These created indices are refined constantly as more and more queries are processed. The proposed
holistic indexing takes the state of the art adaptive indexing concepts a big step further by
introducing the idea of a system which refines the index space continuously and never stops while
taking educated decisions about which index to be incrementally refined next based on continuous
knowledge acquirement about the running workload and

Sept. 13, 1768 with troops about to arrive, the people of Boston gathered in Town Meeting and
declared that the keeping of a standing army amongst them without their consent in person or by
Representatives of their own free election, would be an infringement of their natural,
constitutional and Charter Rights; and the employing such Army for the enforcing of Laws
made without the consent of the people, in Person, or by their representatives would be a
grievance. (p45) The Bostonians, by restraining their anger and offering no open affront to the
troops, were able to win universal sympathy and to make the whole policy of employing troops
against them seem as ridiculous as it was odious. In fact, such a calm prevailed that no real use
could be found for the troops at all. March 5, 1770 Boston Massacre A crowd gathered, a motley

Magwitch s Manipulations of Pip in Great Expectations Essay
Magwitch s Manipulations of Pip in Great Expectations
In Great Expectations, Charles Dickens criticizes the motivation of the lower classes to rise to the
level of wealth and education held by the upper classes by showing the extent to which Pip is
exploited by Magwitch to meet these goals. To meet the expectations of the gentleman, Pip must
leave his family and any possibility of earning his living in order to satisfy the educational and
societal demands of this standard. Magwitch, a social deviant, hopes to prove his viability by
using his unfortunate circumstances to produce a gentleman entirely by his own effort. Magwitch
exhibits Pip to the world as a gentleman who is not hardened by labor, but he does so by his ... Show

The title of gentleman therefore denotes one who passes his time idly without and obligation or
responsibility besides remaining socially amiable. The emergence of the middle class in the
nineteenth century allowed people not of noble birth to enter the ranks of gentility. Becoming an
educated and morally noble gentleman had come within the reach of those who had previously
been excluded. Industry made it possible for someone of the working class to elevate his social
position through his own efforts. This new definition of the gentleman had a great appeal among
the emerging middle class because high birth, the traditional passport to recognition as a gentleman,
could be side stepped at least in theory (Platz 152). This new opportunity created a split between the
traditional upper classes and the newly established English bourgeoisie. Dickens recognized the
paradoxical aspiration toward the position of an idle gentleman through labor. Obtaining the
appearance of a gentleman became more important than the means by which the facade is
constructed. Platz writes, Dickens Great Expectations can be interpreted as an attempt to dismantle
both the legitimacy and symbolic authority of the gentleman (162). Pip deceives himself by

Winston Churchill started his long line of influential actions during World War I. He first served
on the frontlines in France during the war. He was a major with the 2nd battalion of the
Grenadier Guards. After this, he became the commander of the 6th Royal Scots Fusiliers, a
battalion of the 9th division. As both a major and a commander Churchill proved to be a born
leader. He was hailed as a hero and took advantage of his status ( Sir Winston Churchill: A

as a leader led him to the appointment as the first lord of admiralty in 1912.
As the first lord of admiralty in 1912, Churchill made many impacts to World War I. Being the
lord of admiralty meant he was in charge of Britain s royal navy. It was here he made many
reforms that Britain still use today including the switch from coal burning ships to fuel burning
ships. He knew he needed to improve Britain s navy after an early recognition of Germany s
naval power. After seeing this, he helped to set up a naval air service. The purpose of the naval air
service was to give warning of approaching ships, that way the could defend better with the
information that they had been given. At the start of World War I the Royal Naval Air

Toddlers Case Study
Slide 2 Toddlers rights
In society people have to right to have their rights protected and their needs meet, this should be the
same for toddlers within early childhood education and care. Within the early childhood setting
toddlers have the right to be cared for, loved and nurtured. Te One (2011) states that it is important
to listen to toddlers voices, weather its through verbal or non verbal communication and she
emphasises on the importance of early childhood educators ensuring that they are protecting the
rights of the toddlers in their care. This means educators need to advocate and ensure that the
principle within the Convention on Rights of the Child are understood and are implemented within
early childhood education and care.
Slide 3 The Convention on the Rights of the Child
Convention on the Rights of the child (CRC) was first created by the United Nations alongside a
group of experts in child related fields, in 1989 and according to the Ministry of Justice (2017) the
New Zealand Government officially signed it in 1993. This was a legal agreement among nations
that commits each cooperating country to work toward guaranteeing environments that foster
children s development, protect them from harm, and enhance their community participation and
self determination (Berk, 2013,p.37). Creating this document was the step the countries needed to
help ensure the avocation for the rights of every child and has helped guide our centre policies.

Psychoactive Drugs Can Have On An Individual s Brain
To fully understand the affects that psychoactive drugs can have on an individual s brain, one has
to first define the term, dissect the history and use, know what factors cause addiction, and what
leads to drug dependency. What is a psychoactive drug? A psychoactive drug, psycho
pharmaceutical, or psychotropic is a chemical substance that changes brain function and results in
alterations in perception, mood, or consciousness (drug, n.d). Typically the term drug alone can be

Opioids have long been valued for their effect on the gastrointestinal system due their ability to
quieting coughing (codeine) and counteracting diarrhea. One of the most popular forms of opium
used today medically is morphine. Although opioids are the most effective medication in aiding
chronic pain and many other issues, it has been given a bad rap as a very addictive substance when
not monitored correctly or taken in moderation.
What causes addiction? .No one single factor can determine why psychoactive drugs have a
tendency to become addictive. On the contrary the more risk factors a person has, the greater the
chance that taking drugs will lead to abuse and addiction. Learned behavior such as classical
learning is one factor that can lead to addiction and later abuse. Through classical conditioning
one can pair the pleasure of addictive substances or activities with environmental cues. For
example, suppose someone smokes a cigarette in their car after work. The enjoyment of smoking
a cigarette forms a paired association with riding in the car, as well as the time frame after work .
By repeatedly pairing cigarettes with car, and cigarettes after work, both the car and after work
will become cues to smoke cigarettes. Then these cues (getting into the car, getting off work) may
create powerful cravings for nicotine.

Marketing Principles Of International Marketing
From this course, I learned plenty of international marketing principles and knew that international
environments are quite different from countries to countries. Each market you enter is different,
and what works in one country or region will not work in another. As technology creates leaps in
communication and transportation, the world continues to feel smaller and smaller. It is not that
hard for companies and consumers to conduct business in almost any country around the world
thanks to advances in international trade, and no doubt, the world is tending to be more
international, diverse and muti cultural in multiple ways. In most factors that influenced
international marketing, culture has a great impact on it. A marketer always has to study about the
local culture in depth before offering a product to them, and I think that well understanding of a
country s culture is really essential for international marketing. First of all, to have an effective
communication one must send the message according to the receiver s culture, customs and
learning process. There are some major barriers by which effective communication can be
hampered. For example, companies have to be aware of what their brand name will be when it is
translated in another language. Since sometimes when a company renames their brand in foreign
country, it might totally change meaning of its original meaning. It will be embarrassing if the new
name delivers wrong message that company does not

every decision the characters made had an effect on the concluding outcome, so the no pausing or

Urbanization is likely to be one of the defining phenomena of the 21st Century for Latin America
as well as the rest of the developing world. The world as a whole became more urban than rural

countries. For the Latin American region, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This migration flow contributed to rapid urban growth, population concentration, and territorial
expansion of these large cities. This process took place in relatively large cities with a significant
consumer market together with a relatively good infrastructure and equipment.
Urbanization in Latin America increased in fifty years (1925 1975) from 25% to 61.2%. The pace
of urbanization, however, declined between 1975 and 2000 and currently the proportion of people
living in urban areas reached 75.3%. While for Latin America during the period 1925 1950 the
urban growth rate almost doubled the total growth rate and the urbanization rate was 2.0%, more
recently, between 1975 2000 the urban growth rate was just almost 50% higher than the total
growth rate and the urbanization rate fell to 0.8%. To characterize the urbanization process within
Latin America is not an easy task, since there is a great deal of heterogeneity among countries in
terms of their population, territory and sociodemographic characteristics. In the year 2000 there are
countries with population around 100 million inhabitants (Brazil and MГ©xico) and other with less
than five millions (Uruguay,Jamaica and PanamГЎ).

The second individual that was a major player of this scandal was Jack Warner, the former VP of

6.0Industry Trends and Agency Issues 6.1 Industry Trends Over recent years, globalization placed
intense new demands on the transportation and supply chain sector. Given the fluctuations in a
number of related Federal policies, it is recognized that transportation communities nationwide are
entering an unprecedented era of change. As indicated by the preceding Market Analysis (section
4.0), moving forward, TB T is expected to continue to operate in this highly uncertain business and
transportation environment. Therefore, TB T must position itself to approach new opportunities,
risks, and challenges with an ability to change how the department does business and abandons non
core. 6.1.1 A Time of Scarcity Paramount to TB T s

With two tunnels and four bridges built in the 1920s and 1930s, and bus terminal facilities that are
over a half century old, large scale projects are necessary to provide safe, efficient, resilient, and
modern facilities. Given the magnitude of ongoing investments including the raising of the
Bayonne Bridge roadway and the replacement of the Goethals Bridge, TB T has had to enter into
innovative arrangements for construction, project finance, interagency coordination, and
community relations. 6.1.3 Fuel Tax Challenge Complicating TB T s asset invest needs is the fact
that the once dependable fuel tax is no longer producing revenues at the rate required to maintain
transportation infrastructure. According to the Wall Street Journal, improved fuel economy and the
rise of hybrid and electric vehicles means that additional driving won t match higher gasoline sales.
Furthermore, how much people pay for the roads won t necessarily correspond to how much they
use them. Traditionally, the United States has met increased demand by building new facilities that
expand capacity, but this is no longer feasible for a variety of reasons. The time to move through
the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process is often extensive, land acquisition may no
longer be possible, and now fuel tax revenues may be insufficient to pay for new investments in
infrastructure. As a result, transportation agencies and policymakers must explore new

The Negative Impact Of Prohibition
On January 16, 1920 the United States went dry. The 18th Amendment was fully in effect and the
country would test this Noble Experiment for the next thirteen years until its repeal in 1933. It is
the only amendment to ever be repealed partly for all the havoc it created. During the 1930 s
Prohibition had caused an increase of crime, higher consumption of alcohol and weakened the
economy.
This movement was supported partly because people thought drinking was a cause of corruption
and was aimed to improve lives. All breweries, distilleries, and saloons were forced to shut down
immediately. The purpose of this law was to ban the manufacture, sale, or transportation of
intoxicating liquors. While it was the 18th Amendment that established Prohibition, ... Show more

When prohibition took effect, there was total destruction of the brewing and distilling industry
(Blocker). The closing of breweries, distilleries and saloons led to the elimination of thousands
of jobs, and in turn, thousands more jobs were eliminated for barrel makers, truckers, waiters,
and other related trades. The hope was that revenue from alcohol would shift towards other
businesses instead the opposite happened, having a terrible effect on society (Blocker). One of
the most profound effects of Prohibition was on government tax revenues. Before Prohibition,
many states relied heavily on excise taxes on liquor sales to fund their budgets. In New York,
almost 75% of the state s revenue was derived from liquor taxes (Lerner). With Prohibition in
effect, that revenue was immediately lost. At the national level, Prohibition cost the federal
government a total of $11 billion in lost tax revenue, while costing over $300 million to enforce
(Lerner). The Great Depression was chiefly responsible for the end of prohibition. From 1930 to
1931, income tax revenues fell by 15 percent. In 1932 they fell another 37 percent; 1932 income
tax revenues were 46 percent lower than just two years earlier (Lerner). And by 1933 they were
fully 60 percent lower than in 1930 (Lerner). With no end of The Great Depression in sight, The
government looked for another source of income to generate money so

Zip Monologue
I was at a football stadium in Central City. A creature who called himself Zip is right in front of
me. His black eyes staring at me like he s trying to intimidate me. It didn t look like he had the
best intentions in mind. He had my powers, but only difference was he was a little faster than
me. We started charging at each other at the same time surprisingly. I landed some good hits, but
he landed more good ones than I did. He was meaning to kill me, and I had to get out of there if I
didn t want to die. I got out of there and went back to my base S.T.A.R. Labs. I had a broken arm
and I had rapid healing abilities along with my super speed, so it should be only a couple hours
till I heal. A year ago a worm hole opened to a place called Earth 2, that s were Zip comes from,
and somehow he found out about me. Ever since he s been trying to kill me, but I don t know
why. I needed to get faster if I wanted to beat Zip and I knew just the person to help me... my
friend Hunter. I went to his house to ask him for help and he told me he had something to give my
speed a kickstart. It was called the Tachyon Device. Two years ago a thing... Show more content on

Labs to see how long it took me. When I got back I was informed that I ran four times faster than
I ever did. Now all that s left to do is to find Zip, and Hunter has already found him. He was at an
abandoned orphanage on the other side of town. I raced over there hoping to beat him once and
for all, but when I got there he was no where in sight. I walked around hoping to find him, but
what I did find was his plans. I read through them, but it didn t make sense. It was a list of names
with lines marked through them. There was pictures on the wall with X s on them. They looked
like speedsters like me, but there was only one without an X on it. I walked over to it and as soon
as I saw who it was I froze, it was a picture of

Heroic Journey Archetype
J.J. Abrams film Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a modern heroic journey archetype. An
archetype is a universal pattern that can be applied to stories across cultures and historical periods.
In this heroic journey archetype, the main character Rey goes through various stages of her journey
that greatly contribute to her final transformation into a hero. The stages that contribute most to her
transformation are: departure, road of trials, and return and reintegration. In the departure stage,
the hero is typically called to adventure. The call usually comes from a herald of some sort
carrying the message that ultimately causes the adventure to begin. In this film, Rey s departure
stage takes place when she rescues BB 8 (who is carrying... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Not only does Rey succeed in protecting Luke s secrecy, she meets him in person and restores
the light saber to its rightful owner. The use of the heroic journey in this film implies many
things about how people become heroes and what it takes to reach that destination. For one, the
film implies that destiny plays a huge role in heroism. BB 8 stumbled upon Rey as though it
were destiny, and Rey had a vision entailing her calling as well as the ability to use the force. The
heroic journey also implies that becoming a hero takes a lot of hard work and determination to
reach that destination. You must also make sacrifices and focus on your goal. In the film, Rey
had to go through multiple tests of strength and endurance, but she was determined and remained
focused on what she was trying to achieve. Rey also sacrificed her home planet Jakku to help
fight off the evil and restore the peace. Finally, the heroic journey implies the importance of
believing in yourself. In the beginning, Rey lacked confidence and was afraid; however, she
conquered her fears and believed in herself in the end. Without the self doubt shadowing her
actions and holding her back, Rey is able to defeat Kylo Ren and

  • 2. The, The And Of The Shepherds, Jacob Jordaens, 1657, And... There is often a recurring theme of power in the history of art, whether in religious or aristocratic painting. Over the break, I visited the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, North Carolina to view various works of art. The two pieces I chose to observe and discuss are The Adoration of the Shepherds, Jacob Jordaens, 1657, and The Feast of Esther, Jan Lievens, 1625. Both of these paintings are oil paintings on canvas, but they look drastically different. Power is portrayed in similar ways through the context and details of the paintings, but there are also key differences in both the formal qualities and the compositions. Light, gesture, and adornment are three of the key components in these paintings. Jacob Jordaens was born in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The palette used by Lievens is extraordinarily bright, colorful painting. It is an extremely detailed painting, some of which comes from the painterly technique used in the brushwork, and there are visible brush strokes that add to the details of the painting. In the museum, the piece was hanging where the viewer s eye level is approximately in the middle of the painting. In The Adoration of the Shepherds, Jordaens uses light and color to highlight the most important figures in the painting, Mary and the Christ child. Chiaroscuro is used to model the figures three dimensionally from light to dark, mainly on the brightest figures. In the less important background figures, there is a sfumato, or hazy effect, in which there are less precise lines and more of a smoky look. Jordaens focuses the light in a dramatic, theatrical way on the Christ child and Mary holding him. It is clear that the spotlight is meant for them and they are the most important figures and the attention should be focused on them. They also are more detailed and have more crisp, clear outlines and details than the shepherds and others surrounding them. The composition is stacked in a way that makes it very crowded. Animals and people are dispersed around the main characters, seemingly on the same level and of almost equal significance. The lighting shows the power and importance of Christ and Mary because they are illuminated, therefore attention is drawn mostly to them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Contemporary Art And Artistic Practices Historical Context The Community based Artistic Practices are not a complete novelty in contemporary art, their rhetoric are being used as strategic tools, to support discourse such as democracy, equality, social justice among other, from the 1960s on a explicit way. Even less, this social turn , understood as an ethical shift by artist and critics who focus their attention on the aspect of social usefulness of the art practices, characterized by an increase of art projects that emphasize participation, dialogue and community engagement to activate the public sphere attempting to offer new social models to live together; appear like a leitmotif along the theory and history of art of the 20th century. In other words, the avant garde is understood as a form of self consciousness of artistic field, with a very clear interest to break the artВґs autonomy, while separate form of production, as a necessary condition to redirect the art into life. According to Peter BГјrger, with the reintegration of art into praxis proposes a revolution in the life, which causes a revolution in the art. As BГјrger states, the avant garde movements that sought to break with the bourgeois autonomy of art and thereby apply a strong self criticism to art institutionally were: the Russian Constructivism, closely linked with the Revolution of 1917; Dadaism and its negation of art as institution; and the Surrealism. Nonetheless, after the World War II in the middle of the 20th century, the avant garde schism became a crisis, failing in its quest to eliminate the division between art and life and its critical self consciousness about this, which meant its co option by the art institution, ... • 4. Compare And Contrast Procedural And Substantive Due Process As one analyzes the differences between intent procedural and substantive due process, the purpose of due process must be determined. The purpose of due process is assuring that no person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law . This is the only theory that is vital to individual rights and freedoms than due process(Snyder, 2015). However, due process is not only the opportunity to be heard, but to extend justice and fairness to the individual in relationship to government. Hence, due process protects individuals from the encroachment of the state on person right and interest (Snyder, 2012). Because, it is created in the provision of a fundamental balance between the rights of individuals and the exercise of the authority of the state (Snyder, 2012). The intent of procedural due process is a proposed step that must be followed while allowing student and school personnel the opportunity in seeking redress for the alleged before any action is taken against them ( Essex, 2012, pg. 83). The purpose of this concept is for procedural fairness. In contrast, the intent of substantive due process is the process that ensures that a valid reason must be in existence before an individual is deprived of life, liberty or property. Users tend to choose meaningful words from dictionaries, which make textual passwords easy to break and vulnerable to dictionary or brute force attacks. Many available graphical passwords have a password space that is less than or equal to the textual passwordspace.Smart cards or tokens can be stolen. I personally, want to see them legalized in all sports above the high school level. I feel at this age, the body will be done maturing and will be ready to take on the next advanced level in making itself greater. Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs) are the great leveler, being the tool for athletes to bridge the unfair gap (Steadman). Athletes choose the amount of time and training they put in. The PEDs would increase playing competition and allow athletes to reach those heights to entertain us at a great level (Hoffman). The people are complicit in turning the sport into an entertainment industry in which winning is everything (Cashmore). Everyone wants to be a winner. Steroids improve the effects of training, allowing them to produce more effective training (Steadman). The Anabolic Steroid, Androgen, is used as a lower dosage. It doesn t matter if all the laws changed today, the fact remains that the human race is habitual: people will continue to operate based on what they have done for years. A Plan For A University Facilities Project Manager INTRODUCTION Teams, as discussed this semester, referred to individuals at one firm brought together to, for example, complete a project, develop a new product, or define a new process. However, I as a university facilities project manager, have a different sort of team; one consisting of individuals from different firms brought together to complete a building project. How might the principles of team building be utilized in my team consisting of end user group (who will occupy the building), facilities operations staff, architect, and contractor or construction manager? The construction industry has utilized a concept called partnering on large projects with the goal of creating a cooperative environment to minimize conflicts which could result in claims or litigation (GSA 2016). It is hoped to achieve this goal by creating an environment of trust and open communication among the participants. Caltrans is a strong advocate of partnering; requiring the process on all projects over $10 million (Caltrans 2013). They have an admirable field guide and partnering training program. We also have PMI s Project ManagementBook of Knowledge providing guidance in developing a project management plan (PMP). The PMP documents much of what is covered in partnering sessions. The speaker challenges the customary idyllic landscape like the laurels and myrtles by destructively picking the flowers and berries off the trees, instead of the speaker being grounded in nature like the other speakers in traditional pastoral poems, he destroys it. Furthermore, Milton turns the pastoral into one of mourning because the speaker s compulsion for disturbing nature before season due all stems from the death of Lycidas who died in his prime . As the poem continues, the speaker explains the romanticized pastoral landscape where he and Lycidas were once shepherds: For were nursed upon the self same hill, / Fed the same flock, by the fountain, shade, and rill. Together both, ere the high lawns appeared (23 25). These lines display how the speaker can reach nostalgia with these pastoral fantasies that distance him away from reality. However, the speaker soon leaves the romantic when he laments about Lycidas: And old Damoetas loved to hear our song. / But O the heavy change, now thou art gone, (36 37). The speaker being able to come back to reality demonstrates how the Milton is unable to emphasize the traditional romantic pastoral setting of peace and joy because of the emotional anguish the speaker has. • 21. Three Main Reasons For The Abolition Of The Atlantic Slave... The abolition of the Atlantic slave trade. The aim of this essay is to evaluate the reasons for the abolition of the Atlantic slave trade as well as conclude on what I determine to be the main reason for the abolition. I will consider the three main factors; The influence of William Wilberforce in parliament, The abolitionist campaign and its influence on public opinion, as well as slave resistance and rebellion. The trade took place throughout the years of the 15th century and continued through to the 19th century. The trade involved Europeans taking goods from Europe such as weapons and fabric to Africa which they would trade for the brutal capture of men, women and children from their homes and countries, these people would then be taken to countries in north and south America on slave ships where they lived in terrible, cramped and diseased conditions for months as they travelled through the middle passage. When they arrived in America they would be forced to work in awful conditions on plantations in order to produce goods such as sugar, cotton and tobacco. Which would then be transported back to Europe. William Wilberforce was born in 1759. He grew up very privileged and became very popular and well known for his eloquent, witty and powerful speeches and was elected to the house of commons aged only 21. Wilberforce then used his platform to advocate for many causes such as education reform. Wilberforce began to focus his efforts on the abolition of the slave trade ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When they have the opportunity to drink, they do so in an irresponsible manner because drinking by these youth is seen as a badge of rebellion against authority and a symbol of adulthood. Clearly, this kind of devious attitude does not encourage responsible drinking. While young people in foreign countries learn to regard moderate drinking as an enjoyable social activity, young Americans view it as something they have to sneak around to do. If 18 year olds do not have legal access to even a beer in a public place, they are ill equipped to deal with the responsibilities that come with drinking when they do have the right. The drinking age should be lowered because the current age has no real basis. With a lowered drinking age, fewer problems will be present. Safe drinking needs to be taught, along with drinking in moderation. All of the arguments for having a raised drinking level or retaining the current one are weak. The problems that make a drinking age limit necessary are better solved through a lowered drinking level. Tightening the laws on underage drinking is wrong, as laws will still be broken and people 20 years, 364 days and younger will continue to consume alcohol. The answer to the problem of underage drinking is not to add more restrictions, rather, it is simple: get rid of the underage part. Magwitch s Manipulations of Pip in Great Expectations Essay Magwitch s Manipulations of Pip in Great Expectations In Great Expectations, Charles Dickens criticizes the motivation of the lower classes to rise to the level of wealth and education held by the upper classes by showing the extent to which Pip is exploited by Magwitch to meet these goals. To meet the expectations of the gentleman, Pip must leave his family and any possibility of earning his living in order to satisfy the educational and societal demands of this standard. The title of gentleman therefore denotes one who passes his time idly without and obligation or responsibility besides remaining socially amiable. The emergence of the middle class in the nineteenth century allowed people not of noble birth to enter the ranks of gentility. Becoming an educated and morally noble gentleman had come within the reach of those who had previously been excluded. Industry made it possible for someone of the working class to elevate his social position through his own efforts. This new definition of the gentleman had a great appeal among the emerging middle class because high birth, the traditional passport to recognition as a gentleman, could be side stepped at least in theory (Platz 152). This new opportunity created a split between the traditional upper classes and the newly established English bourgeoisie. Dickens recognized the paradoxical aspiration toward the position of an idle gentleman through labor. Obtaining the appearance of a gentleman became more important than the means by which the facade is constructed. Within the early childhood setting toddlers have the right to be cared for, loved and nurtured. Te One (2011) states that it is important to listen to toddlers voices, weather its through verbal or non verbal communication and she emphasises on the importance of early childhood educators ensuring that they are protecting the rights of the toddlers in their care. A psychoactive drug, psycho pharmaceutical, or psychotropic is a chemical substance that changes brain function and results in alterations in perception, mood, or consciousness (drug, n.d). What causes addiction? .No one single factor can determine why psychoactive drugs have a tendency to become addictive. On the contrary the more risk factors a person has, the greater the chance that taking drugs will lead to abuse and addiction. Learned behavior such as classical learning is one factor that can lead to addiction and later abuse. Through classical conditioning one can pair the pleasure of addictive substances or activities with environmental cues. For example, suppose someone smokes a cigarette in their car after work. The enjoyment of smoking a cigarette forms a paired association with riding in the car, as well as the time frame after work . By repeatedly pairing cigarettes with car, and cigarettes after work, both the car and after work will become cues to smoke cigarettes. Marketing Principles Of International Marketing From this course, I learned plenty of international marketing principles and knew that international environments are quite different from countries to countries. Each market you enter is different, and what works in one country or region will not work in another. As technology creates leaps in communication and transportation, the world continues to feel smaller and smaller. It is not that hard for companies and consumers to conduct business in almost any country around the world thanks to advances in international trade, and no doubt, the world is tending to be more international, diverse and muti cultural in multiple ways. In most factors that influenced international marketing, culture has a great impact on it. A marketer always has to study about the local culture in depth before offering a product to them, and I think that well understanding of a country s culture is really essential for international marketing. First of all, to have an effective communication one must send the message according to the receiver s culture, customs and learning process. There are some major barriers by which effective communication can be hampered. For example, companies have to be aware of what their brand name will be when it is translated in another language. Since sometimes when a company renames their brand in foreign country, it might totally change meaning of its original meaning. It will be embarrassing if the new name delivers wrong message that company does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This movement was supported partly because people thought drinking was a cause of corruption and was aimed to improve lives. All breweries, distilleries, and saloons were forced to shut down immediately. The purpose of this law was to ban the manufacture, sale, or transportation of intoxicating liquors. When prohibition took effect, there was total destruction of the brewing and distilling industry (Blocker). The closing of breweries, distilleries and saloons led to the elimination of thousands of jobs, and in turn, thousands more jobs were eliminated for barrel makers, truckers, waiters, and other related trades. The hope was that revenue from alcohol would shift towards other businesses instead the opposite happened, having a terrible effect on society (Blocker). One of the most profound effects of Prohibition was on government tax revenues. Before Prohibition, many states relied heavily on excise taxes on liquor sales to fund their budgets. In New York, almost 75% of the state s revenue was derived from liquor taxes (Lerner). With Prohibition in effect, that revenue was immediately lost. At the national level, Prohibition cost the federal government a total of $11 billion in lost tax revenue, while costing over $300 million to enforce (Lerner). The Great Depression was chiefly responsible for the end of prohibition. From 1930 to 1931, income tax revenues fell by 15 percent. In 1932 they fell another 37 percent; 1932 income tax revenues were 46 percent lower than just two years earlier (Lerner). And by 1933 they were fully 60 percent lower than in 1930 (Lerner). With no end of The Great Depression in sight, The government looked for another source of income to generate money so ... • 42. Zip Monologue I was at a football stadium in Central City. A creature who called himself Zip is right in front of me. His black eyes staring at me like he s trying to intimidate me. It didn t look like he had the best intentions in mind. He had my powers, but only difference was he was a little faster than me. We started charging at each other at the same time surprisingly. I landed some good hits, but he landed more good ones than I did. He was meaning to kill me, and I had to get out of there if I didn t want to die. I got out of there and went back to my base S.T.A.R. Labs. I had a broken arm and I had rapid healing abilities along with my super speed, so it should be only a couple hours till I heal. A year ago a worm hole opened to a place called Earth 2, that s were Zip comes from, and somehow he found out about me. Ever since he s been trying to kill me, but I don t know why. I needed to get faster if I wanted to beat Zip and I knew just the person to help me... my friend Hunter. Now all that s left to do is to find Zip, and Hunter has already found him. He was at an abandoned orphanage on the other side of town. I raced over there hoping to beat him once and for all, but when I got there he was no where in sight. I walked around hoping to find him, but what I did find was his plans. I read through them, but it didn t make sense. It was a list of names with lines marked through them. There was pictures on the wall with X s on them. They looked like speedsters like me, but there was only one without an X on it. I walked over to it and as soon as I saw who it was I froze, it was a picture of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The stages that contribute most to her transformation are: departure, road of trials, and return and reintegration. In the departure stage, the hero is typically called to adventure. The call usually comes from a herald of some sort carrying the message that ultimately causes the adventure to begin. Not only does Rey succeed in protecting Luke s secrecy, she meets him in person and restores the light saber to its rightful owner. The use of the heroic journey in this film implies many things about how people become heroes and what it takes to reach that destination. For one, the film implies that destiny plays a huge role in heroism. BB 8 stumbled upon Rey as though it were destiny, and Rey had a vision entailing her calling as well as the ability to use the force. The heroic journey also implies that becoming a hero takes a lot of hard work and determination to reach that destination. You must also make sacrifices and focus on your goal. In the film, Rey had to go through multiple tests of strength and endurance, but she was determined and remained focused on what she was trying to achieve. Rey also sacrificed her home planet Jakku to help fight off the evil and restore the peace. Finally, the heroic journey implies the importance of believing in yourself. In the beginning, Rey lacked confidence and was afraid; however, she conquered her fears and believed in herself in the end. Without the self doubt shadowing her actions and holding her back, Rey is able to defeat Kylo Ren and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
