Essay On Reimbursement
Reimbursement is the blood of any healthcare facility. The rates of reimbursement are varied
based on insurance payers, location, and other factors. Medicare is the biggest insurance payers
in the healthcare industry. The Medicare reimbursements for providers are based on providers
work, practice expenses, and professional liability. A relative value unit (RVU) is assigned to
each of the three factors, which calculates the workload or expended efforts in caring for patients
by providers. Among those, practice expense is calculated based on the actual expenses that
practices invest in the process of care for patients, which is about 41 percent of total
reimbursements. Adopting new technologies to comply with constant changes in rules and
regulations of healthcare as well as improve care process for patients is a part of practice
expenses. The Food and Drug Administration promotes medical technology innovation but the
CMS does not have any guideline to reimburse providers and healthcare facilities for it (Stark
Jaeger, 2011).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The payments for this preventive care are different ranging from $60 to $70 for commercial
insurance and $66.22 for Medicare. The payment is too low compared to other imaging procedures
and do not include the fee for new technologies, such as digital and computer assist detection. The
Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) adds extra financial burdens to mammography
facilities by requiring that all facilities must satisfy the minimum standard for technologists,
radiologists, physicists, and equipment. The requirements increase costs but does not increase
reimbursement to cover those costs for healthcare facilities, which may become heavy burdens for
small and low volume facilities (Nass, Henderson, Lashof,

The Emperor s Test And The Mystery Ingredient
The Emperor s Test , and The Mystery Ingredient are very similar stories but then again, they are
very different. The Emperor s Test is a folktale story with traditional language. Unlike, The
Mystery Ingredient which is a more modern version of The Emperor s Test with today s modern
language. Ling, the main character in The Emperor s Test, is conscientious, courageous, and
honest. Similar to Leona, main character in The Mystery Ingredient, she is open, fair, and modest.
These characters relate to each other by their actions and inner thoughts. Even tho the stories have
some contrast, both stories have the same moral which is honesty will be reward. The Emperor s
Test is a traditional folktale, because it s set in a distance place long ago,... Show more content on

This is more modern because the story has been written in the present, uses modern language,
and the theme is not stated directly but it is hidden between the lines. This story is more modern
because as you read this story, they talk about things that did not exist back in the day. For
example, ... Chef Fiore s restaurant were packed every night, his cookbooks were bestsellers,
and his latest tv show was broadcasted worldwide (49). When we think of traditional stories we
think of fairytales, folktales, and myths but this one doesn t seem to be any of those, it uses
today s everyday language than the original traditional language. Therefore, we can infer this
story was written in the present. The theme of The Mystery Ingredient is the same as the
previous story but it s not found as easy in the text as the first story. The story states, The
mystery ingredient is guaranteed to ruin any recipe. So I know that the only one who actually
used it is Leona! The rest of you broke the rules, and you re all disqualified. Leona, next time you
ll be hosting this show yourself! (51). Reading this quote, it doesn t give away anything besides
that Leona won her own tv show. If we think more about this sentence we can see she won
because she was honest and now she is taking over her favorite Chef s tv show. The main idea of
The Mystery Ingredient is, honesty always will be

Ishtar Gate Research Paper
Another spectacular structure in Babylon is the Ishtar Gate. The Ishtar gate is the eighth and
final entrance to the city of Babylon, but it is the main way to enter the city on special
occasions. The Ishtar Gate was constructed by the means of Nebuchadnezzar around 575 BC. He
built this to make his city beautiful and full of life along with the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
The Ishtar Gate was originally one of the Seven Wonders of the World like the Hanging Gardens
of Babylon, but was removed and replaced with something suppodsly better than this beautiful gate
and the walls that surround it. Ishtar was named after the goddess that was worshiped by the
means of the people who are located in Babylon. Ishtar was the goddess of love, war, fertility, and

The dragons represent the god of Marduk. Marduk was a god, but historians believe what he
was god of is unclear because of the fact that it is very complicated, and they do not have enough
evidence to support it. The tiles of the actual gate were glazed blue tiles. The blue tiles are
believed to come from lapis lazuli which is a metamorphic rock packed with the dense, rich
mineral called lazurite. After entering and passing through the gatehouse, a long, straight path
called the Processional Way runs into Babylon. This is about half a mile long paved with red
brick on the outer parts and yellow brick in the middle. Each of the bricks used to make the path
have a inscription underneath them. The inscriptions are small prayers from King
Nebuchadnezzar to Marduk the god. The walls are estimated at about fifty feet high, and the wall
are lined with around one hundred and twenty lions made of gold, brown, and yellow bricks. The
lions represent the goddess that the whole gate is named after, Ishtar.175 The Processional Way
was used for the New Year s celebration, through which statues of the deities would parade down.
This beautiful and lively path led to the temple that Marduk was worshiped

Cobbs Vs Grant Case Study
In Cobbs V. Grant there was an issue that is seen in the healthcare arena quite often. This issue is
negligence. Negligence can range from a variety of different issues a few of them to mention
would be lack of communicating with the patient, leaving the patient alone for too long, or not
answering the patients calls in a timely manner. Over time these circumstances could potentially
cause harm to the patient for a variety of issues and result in a lawsuit if the patient feels
mistreated. In the case of Cobbs V. Grant there was negligencefrom not informing the patient before

Stevenson s Use of Literary Techniques to Portray Evil in...
This essay will focus on how Robert Louis Stevenson presents the nature of evil through his
novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde . Using ideas such as duality, the technique
used to highlight the two different sides of a character or scene, allegories, an extended
metaphor which has an underlying moral significance, and hypocrisy; in this book the Victorians
being against all things evil but regularly taking part in frown able deeds that would not be
approved of in a respectable society. This links in with the idea of secrecy among people and also
that evil is present in everyone. The novel also has strong ties and is heavily influenced by religion.
Stevenson, being brought up following strong... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This gives the impression that Hyde is a monster than comes out only when it is dark and
nobody can see him. Whatever he is, he cannot be called human. In Victorian England, if a
person looked ugly, criminal like or giving an impression of deformity they were considered to
be ugly and criminal like inside to. If you imagine a person reading this story when that was
what was thought, the description of Mr Hyde would instantly label him as the bad character.
During the story Hyde s actions compounds our first impressions of him. Stevenson never says
exactly what Hyde takes pleasure in on his nightly forays but it is thought to be of things that
would ruin Jekyll s reputation if they ever came out. There is thought to be strong ties to drugs,
alcohol addiction and other dangerous dealings; he had once visited her (the maid s) master and
for whom she had conceived a dislike . In the very first chapter, Mr Enfield tells his friend, Mr
Utterson, a story where he witnessed a strange looking man walking along a deserted street, who
trampled calmly over (a) child s body and left her screaming on the ground when they collided.
When Mr Utterson approaches Hyde in the street, Hyde shrinks back with a hissing intake . The
word hissing procures up the image in the mind of a snake, like the devil in the form of a serpent
in the bible. During the book there are many references and motifs to hell and evil; really like
Satan , devilish little man ,

Zimbardo And Milgram Experiment
The risk to human participants in the noteworthy experiments Milgram (1963) and Haney, Banks,
and Zimbardo (1973) has advanced our understanding of power and obedience by highlighting the
significant influence of social situations on personal behaviour. However, as many subsequent
experiments on power and obedience have produced similar findings yet with a greater regard to
ethical principles and minimising risk to participants, the risks to participants were only necessary
to a small extent. Further, these experiments were conducted at a time when the psychological
community did not have stringent ethical guidelines. Since then, there has been a greater
emphasise on protecting human participants, culminating in the APA ethical guidelines which

to explore notions of power and oppression and the results paralleled the findings of the prison

heavily benefit their group and disadvantage others, and the triangles took on a passive role and felt

Women s Rights In The 20th Century
Throughout history, political and social life were all controlled and regulated by men. As a result
women often lived their life in silence and were banned from participating in their society.
However, from the start of the 20th century, this cycle of white male dominance was quickly
challenged by various minority groups. The Women s Rights Movement, Gay Liberation
Movement, and the African American Civil Rights Movement to name a few all demanded basic
human rightsand to be treated equally as their straight white male counterpart. In 1977, Harvey
Milk, a gay rights activist, became the first openly gay person to be elected to public office in
California (he won a seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors). About year later, on June
25, 1978, he gave a powerful speech on the steps of the San Francisco City Hall demanding
equality not only for the LGBTQ community but for everyone. Similarly, on September 5, 1995,
Hillary Clinton, the First Lady at the time, transformed the world as she delivered a moving speech
on women s rights. It was at the U.N 4th World Conference On Women, where she uttered the

History of Economic Thought
History of economic thought
Theorists who have shaped the development of economy and economic thought through the
centuries have invariably been affected by their countries and situations. That this is so can be
traced by eh thoughts of some of the most prominent economic theoreticians that include Smith,
Ricardo, Malthus, Marx, and Keynes. Each of these in turn has produced their own ideas about
reproduction of labor force in classical political economy. Labor has traditionally been related to
growth outcome of product and trade, rise (and as some see it negative influence or increasing
rationalization) of capitalism, and complexity of industrialization. Adam Smith is widely
considered the founder of economics and the father of capitalism. What is less well known is the
fact that he was influenced by French philosophers and writers who shared his dislike of
mercantilism. Influenced by these writers, Smith developed the theory of an invisible hand that
became the bedrock of Western Capitalism. Often misquoted, Smith is both praised and discredited
as the father of one of the most influential movements in history. Smith was the first oen who was
prescriptive rather than descriptive and hence the popularity of his system.
According to Smith, in his Wealth of Nations, competition is the foundational source of national
wealth and governments should refrain and abstain from interfering in free trade. On the contrary,
tariffs, taxes, and other regulations should serve purely

for me to study and focus, due to his anxiety and stress (R, Logan). Afterward, I asked, compared
to his peers, he told me he feels left out because other students finish homework or tests before me.
He also stated, I am always the last one (R, Logan). These statements concerned me. Although, a

Router and Switches II In Routers and Switches we learned several things such as: what is a

is and how to do it and use it. Throughout CCNA we learned how to configure a Router; the
different types of Routing protocols and most importantly what, when and how to use those
protocols in the field. Finally I will discuss Switches in how they are use to set up a LAN.
Throughout this paper these topic will be discuss to cover what was learned through class lecture

The most common of the two link state protocols is OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) it is widely
used throughout the field (#1) due to it being a non proprietor protocol as well as its ability to
interface with other networks. With OSPF you can group router into small areas and link them
through a back bone when this is done you create the following a back bone router within the
area of the back bone there is an area border router (ABR), ABR must have one interface in each
area meaning the back bone and the area trying to link to the back bone, OSPF can also connect
to multiple Autonomous System. When configuring OSPF you must assign a process number in
all router within that group must use that same number, the number can range for 1 to 65,535
you can also have more than one each one will maintain its own separate topology table as well
as manage it independently. There is also distance vectors RIP vs. 1 and 2 (Routing Information

Frankenstein In The 18th Century Essay
Satan has his companions, fellow devils, to admire and encourage him; but I am solitary and
detested (Mary Shelley). In Mary Shelley s novel, Frankenstein, Victor Frankenstein creates a
monster who refers to himself as Adam of your labours which also happens to be the first man
created in the Bible. The monster was abandoned by Victor and was left to teach himself and
slowly discover what he is, which slowly drives him to insanity. Gothic novelists such as Mary
Shelley targeted to epitomize the melancholy of the early 18th century throughout their writing.

America Needs Censorship of Cyberspace
In June of 1998 the country was horrified to learn of the death of James Byrd Jr. He was a 49
year old black man who had been found horribly mutilated after being dragged to death.
Authorities have charged three men with murder and violation of civil rights ( A Fatal Ride in
the Night 33). Obviously, if convicted, these men are guilty of a horrible crime, but what if this
crime had been committed after viewing a racist website? If a person reads an emotionally

However, those who are against censorship on the Internet believe that it violates their right to free
speech. Because the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulates radio and television,
Internet users believe this is the only available forum that guarantees the open exchange of ideas.
The freedom of expression is a right guaranteed to Americans and therefore should not be restricted
by the government.
The First Amendment states, Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,

right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
In fact, Americans have a limited form of free speech. Several types of speech are not protected
including fighting words, commercial speech, libel and slander, and obscenity. The Supreme
Court has three tests for determining what is obscene: (1) whether the average person, applying
local community standards, would find that a work, taken as a whole, appeals to a prurient
interest; (2) whether the work depicts in a patently offensive way sexual conduct specifically
defined as obscene in law; and (3) whether the work,

An Analysis of Benjamin Franklin s Autobiography
Introduction Benjamin Franklin is revered by Americans as one of its most revered and adored
founding fathers. For foreigners, Benjamin Franklin became the very icon of America, not only
because he was accomplished, but because he was a new man, a man that could only have been
made in America. Franklin came to be seen as the embodiment of American values. The image and
the values promoted in Franklin s autobiography would later come to be regarded as essential
American virtues: determination, industriousness, and self sufficiency. It was purportedly these
virtues which led to his great practical accomplishments in publishing, politics, and science. In a
sense, Franklin s autobiography was the first exposition of the now famous American Dream.
Thesis: In his autobiography, Franklin is undoubtedly concerned with developing virtue and self
improvement, but relies on others as the primary frame of reference for his own progress, always
measuring himself with others. This habit of comparison results in the development of vices as
well as virtues. Background Aims At the start of the First Chapter, Franklin claims to write only so
that his own life may be an example for his son of how one can live well and how one can get
through hardships. He meant to show ...the conducing means...which...so well succeeded, my
posterity...may find some of them suitable to their own situations. Franklin, B. (1909). The

Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) has gained considerable notice in recent years since the
Global War on Terrorism. High percentages of service members surviving combat related injuries
are now battling the long lasting effects and associated medical morbidities of brain trauma.
Nearly 1.6 million service members deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation

percentages of those deployed sustaining mTBI are only approximations and may underestimate

as 12 35% of those with exposure to combat are estimated to have experienced an mTBI

In the book The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini, innocence can be found in several of the main
characters. One such character is the servant Hassan, childhood friend of the main character, Amir.
Hassan undergoes several tragedies throughout his lifetime. One such example is when he is
raped. Years later, Amir receives a letter from Hassan and acknowledges that It was written in
Farsi. No dots were omitted, no crosses forgotten, no words blurred together the handwriting was
almost childlike in its neatness (Hosseini 461). Hassan retains the innocence of his youth. Even
after he has had terrible experiences, he still has an air of innocence about him. Another
character who displays this trait is Hassan s son Sohrab. During an ordeal similar to what his
father had gone thorough, Amir says, He [the Talib] locked his arms around Sohrab s belly, rested
his chin on the boy s shoulder. Sohrab looked down at his feet, but kept stealing shy, furtive
glances at me (Hosseini 593). These actions showcase Sohrab s inherent innocence. Sohrab is still
young and holds onto his innocence in the midst of tragedy. All in all, innocence shows up

All systems also have inputs, processor, outputs and management (Hamilton 1997).
Input is something put into a system to achieve the results, such as human resources, material,
money (Hamilton 1997).
Output is the result which is produced by a system from a specific input (intended and unintended)
(Hamilton 1997). For instance, an electrical utility takes on input from the environment in form of
raw material, such as coal, oil, water power; and provides output in form of electricity (Yuvienco
2008).
The transformation to convert a system s inputs to the outputs is called process .
People influence the conversion process through management with standards, feedback and initiator
or functions for planning, organizing, directing and controlling (Hamilton 1997) 3.6.2. Sub system
Sub system is the part of system, is the group of elements and provides a picture of the structure of
the system (Hamilton 1997). Each sub system affects the other sub system and the system as a
whole (Vyas 2010). 3.6.3. Boundary
A boundary could be thought of as an imaginary line which determines what is inside and what is

A Moment Of Disturbing Clarity
A Moment of Disturbing Clarity If I had a dollar for every time I heard God referred to as he or
him, my college tuition might be paid for. I m guilty of this myself, in moments, though more
conscious of it now. No argument can be made against it, the church is traditionally patriarchal, and
dangerously so. In fact, Rosemary Radford Ruether claims in her book Sexism and GodTalk, Male
monotheism has been so taken for granted in Judeo Christian culture that the peculiarity of imaging
God solely through one genderhas not been recognized (53). We can easily address where some
of these issues that arise from this might lie the lack of inclusion in practice, specifically in the
Catholic Church with their opposition to the ordination of women modeled after this God, the lack
of a sense of afterlife that is attainable by women, and a lack of accessibility to other figures and
symbols in the church. More than that, we can point to the issues of their being directly related to sin
, as well as the shunning and lack of acknowledgement that spills into shaming of their bodies.
Often, however, we ignore the results of these issues. As a direct result of the damage done by
patriarchal traditions and patriarchal views of God, women are ill equipped to deal with difficult
aspects of their lives. In order to adequately address issues of sadness, suffering, trauma, and other
theodical roots, everyone, and women in particular, must be shown a reimagined view of
God.Ruether claims,

Modern Family Vs. Present Family Essay
1950s Family vs. Present Family There is always that one question that has been on everyone s
mind, what does a real family look like? What is a family? What are mothers supposed to do?
fathers? children? What are their gender roles? Well, during the 1950s, there were many families
whom believed that the show I Love Lucyportrayed the perfect family, but that was back in the
good old days . It has been more than 50 years and there are still current shows today that portray a
perfect family, in different ways. The American televisionseries, Modern Family portrays one big
perfect straight, gay, diverse, traditional family. These televisions hit series are informing the
audience how a perfect family is supposed to be but some in a positive way and others in a
negative way. Well, the real answer is that the 1950s were not the good old days . For example,
in the television hit series, Modern Family , episode 2 and 3 season 1, portrays an imagine of
what the key is to being a great dad . The first family (Jay, Gloria and Manny) take a while to
respond to this question but towards the end of the episode Jay says, Sometimes things work out
just the way you want. Sometimes they don t. You have to hang in there. 90% of being a dad is
just showing up . The way Jay responds to the question shows that he is very sympathetic and
wants Manny to still view his father, Javier, as the prince he describes as. Javier was not able to

CamelBak: They ve Got Your Bak.
In 1989, Michael Eidson probably never imagined that his homemade, do it yourself fix for

Essay On Women In Athenian Religion
Since human civilization, women never had equality with men. Even in 2018, women are still
fighting for their rights. Women s freedom has always depended on the time period that a women
was raised, their culture, their religion and their society that they are apart of. A prime example that
illustrates this is comparing the women that lived in Athens during the classical age and women in
North America before they were given the right to vote.
There are many opinions about how athenian women were treated and respected during the classical
age. One thing that historians agree upon is that women had great power in religion. There were
many priestesses that contributed to the religion. It must be noted that religion was part of

Those who didn t contribute to the religion played a large role as a wife and mother (O Neal 115).
They were not educated on how to read or write (O Neal). This may contribute to one of the
reasons why there were no female writers. Therefore, all information we have dated from the
classical age from Athens was of a man s view. It is agreed upon that the Athenian society was
patriarchal.Women were not allowed to take part in politics: In Athens,[...] women were legal
nonentities whom the greek excluded from any participation in the political or intellectual life
of the city. (O Neal 117). Regardless, women were acknowledged and appreciated when
appropriate. For instance, a great leader that represents women s influence in religion is Chrysis
who was a priestess of Athena Polias. She is known for making the Pythais festival beneficial for
athens and Delphi. (Connelly 1). She was then recognized for her greatness: The city also voted
to grant her, as well as all her descendants, an impressive series of rights and privileges: status as a

Trove Character Analysis
How to properly build a character in Trove
Have you ever asked a player on Trove what their power rank is and was astonished by their
answer? Then this is how they got where they are and what you will need to get your character or
character up to the desired level.
The first thing you need to do when it comes to becoming a top Trovain player is to look at what
gives the power to you as the player. There are three big things that make up your characters. The
first one is the level of the character. Having a max level thirty character is one of the first things
you need. The second is to keep your eye on your mastery, each level you add to your mastery you
get power rank added to all your characters. Thus, bringing ... Show more content on

Another key factor you will notice as you are leveling up your character is you are unlocking
gem slots. This is key to the power rank portion of Trove, and that s why you need to be level 30
because by doing so you will have unlocked all gem slots and allow you to insert the maximum
number of gems onto that character.
After talking about leveling and gems a little I will go in a little deeper in the matter. To make
sure you can get into the desired portals as you level. Your face, hat, and weapon you should be
changing out with the items you pick up from dungeons if it will give you more power rank.
Your end gear type will be called Stellar gear but you will end up having to buy that from another
player using the in game currency but that will be needed later. So, in the mean time you will
focus on what gear you can find at the end of dungeons. This is also applied to the gems you will
get from opening the gem boxes you receive for completing dungeons. You wantto equip the
highest power ranked gem which is commonly received after opening seventy gem boxes.
The prime goal of you leveling and stick on gear is to reach ten thousand power rank and be
level thirty. You should be able to do such by leveling the radiant gems up to level fifteen that you
will find in Uber eight world. Once you get into Uber nine world with your ten thousand power
rank then you will need to change your game play a little on what gems you will equip

The Problem Of The Homelessness
Every time I go to Bathurst Street in order to see my orthodontist, I always encounter those who
are on the street and less fortunate then I am. There is an estimated 5200 homeless living in the
city. This amount doesn t even take into account the hidden homeless that need long term housing.
Homelessness in the city of Toronto costs the provincial government approximately 30 billion
dollars a year. I have at times wondered why haven t we as a society taken the steps to end
homelessnessin Toronto? I mean it s a very simple question that can be answered with economic
reasoning. To put it simply: it is unrealistic to end homelessness in Toronto. To help me reach this
conclusion I went on a couple of websites to do some research, as well as used some of the core
economic principles to reach my conclusion.
Several studies have found that it costs three to four times more to leave someone on the street
than to give them a home with support services. This is due to the tendency for those to go in
and out of shelters, the hospital bills for those with no money, as well as incarceration for
violations such as squeegeeing and panhandling. A reasonable person would look at this and say
Instead of giving up 30 billion every year to fund the continuation of homelessness in the city, why
not invest in affordable public housing and shelters to decrease the amount of money you will
spend? Homelessness in the city continues for two reasons that I will discuss in this paper. The first

The scope of the project gets defined in the work breakdown structure (WBS), where the schedules
are planned, and resources are assigned; at which the project manager are more familiar and can
estimate more precisely to an agreeable point with the customers. Project scope has a great
influence on the accuracy of cost estimates (Ciraci Polat, 2009).
The delay and disruption caused by bad estimation may lead to project failure (Lee et al. 2009) or
at best to project management failure, that is, not delivering the project on time, within budget,

Implementing A New Training Program
I have experienced the difficulties and challenges faced with the way this has been in the past. With
this new plan, it will completely eliminate the problems that have occurred from previous training
processes. The company can save themselves many resources implementing a new training program
with the phases: Goals and Objectives, Accessing Company Programs, Hands on workshop, Group
/Teamwork activity, Evaluation and Follow up. Figure 1 shows the schedule of each phase and the
days in which they should be carried out through the first week of training. Through the
implementationof this project no extra resources will need to be used except the time of managers
and other employees within the team. These are all miniscule factors in the beginning that will
provide tremendous dividends in the success of this employee for the future.
The goal of this new training program being implemented is to create a better transition and
immediate spark of productive output from new employees. These steps will guide these new
employees through a transition to becoming a veteran of the workplace. The benefits involved
through the implementation is just as much for the managers as the employees themselves.
Managers will be not be wasting time, resources, and money on lost work from new employees
not knowing or understanding what they are supposed to be doing. In fact, the change will more

The Differences Of Piaget And Vygotsky
The Piaget and Vygotsky theories have been used to explain the relation between peer interaction
and cognitive development. Piaget s theory follows a 4 stages of cognitive development and see
children as active learners that construct knowledge from their environment. Vygotsky states
children construct knowledge through social interaction. The zone of proximal development (ZPD)

United States federal government took in light of the War on Drugs on the wide public education

against the 1986 initiative by Nancy Reaganthat became one of the most subtle but destructive
aspects about the War on Drugs. She started an country wide program aimed at educating the youth.

The usual events were comprised of drug prevention talks where the police demonize drug

give an appearance of deterrence there was a study cited in the article by Scientific American,
conducted that teenagers were just as likely to use drugs after through these abstinence based

DARE campaigns pedagogy, it was the lack of student in student role play on how to handle social

argument against the DARE programs pedagogy. Not only did they show that has the Nancy
Reagan philosophy been ineffective, the article subtly made a point to highlight how wasteful it
must have been to use our tax money to fund ineffective police educational programs. While no
statistics were shown, the fact that these programs were found to be highly ineffective gives this
argument quite a bit of merit. Parallel to this, in 1986 congress passed the Drug Free Schools and

The Music Of Music And Music In The Hobbit
The Hobbit Essay
There are approximately thirteen songs in The Hobbit, enough for one in almost every chapter.
Although it cannot be classified as a musical because all the characters are aware that they are
singing, the music still plays an essential role in the development of the story. Many characters
from almost all of the races Tolkien introduces us to compose a song at one point in the story.
These songs integrate relevant details of lore, character development, and a glimpse into the world
of Middle Earth. If a reader investigates further into the songs and poems of The Hobbit, they will
find that Tolkien uses poems and songs to reveal important attributes and estab lish the history and
motives of different species, such as dwarves, elves, and goblins.
One of the first races the readers are introduced to are the dwarves. These short and squat
creatures were once great miners and metal workers whose kingdom was taken by the dragon
Smaug. One of the songs that the Dwarves sing in the first chapter, titled Over the Misty Moun
tains Cold, has a somber and vengeful tone. It has a simple structure of only four lines per stan za
and contains repetition of lines. The rhythm is reminiscent of the repetitive swing of pickaxes,
reflecting the straightforward and sturdy nature of dwarves, and their connection to mining. It
speaks about the ancestry of the dwarves, the splendor and loss of their city of Dale to Smaug, and
how they must regain what

Friedrich Weber s Theory Of Psychology
PSYCHOLOGY
Psychology is defined as the study of thought and behavior. A substantial amount of people believes
that psychology is not a specific scientific discipline. Social sciences study humans as individuals or
as groups. The scientific method subsists of five processes, which include observation, prediction,
testing, interpretation, and communication.
Ernst Weber was born 1795 and died 1878, was one of the first developers who planned an
approach and prepared for what was accepted in psychophysics. For example, Weber explored the
littlest adjustment in weights or length that people could anticipate. In 1850, Weber had awareness
that one could exam the psychological and physical creations with his mentor, Gustav Fechner
(1801 1889). Fechner arranged the term psychological for this new development, and went on to
define some of Weber s principles of perception.
Wilhelm Wundt (1832 1920) created the first psychology laboratory in Leipzig, Germany in 1879,
which unfolded psychology into a science. He studied psychology as its ability from philosophy
and physiology. Creating a laboratory, Wundt constructed a place where students could study the
science of psychology. With more than 180 students and over 100 coming from different countries,
the students took in the knowledge of experimental psychology under Wundt s instruction.

Marshall Plan Research Paper
The Marshall Plan was an American initiative to aid Europe, in which the United States gave $13
billion in economic support to help rebuild European economies after the end of World War II.
The plan was in operation for four years beginning in April 1948. The goals of the United States
were to rebuild war devastated regions, remove trade barriers, modernize industry, make Europe
prosperous again, and prevent the spread of communism. The plan required a decreasing of
interstate barriers, a dropping of many petty regulations constraining business, and encouraged an

The plan also had opponents on the left, Henry A. Wallace notably among them. Wallace saw the
plan as a subsidy for American exporters and sure to polarize the world between East and West.
However, opposition against the Marshall Plan was greatly reduced by the shock of the
Communist coup in Czechoslovakia in February 1948. Not long after, a bill granting an initial $5

Effect Of Change During The Post Independence Period
Chieftaincy has continued to experience pressures of change during the post independence period.
The introduction of the central government system in Ghana interfered in the institution of
chieftaincy and reduced much of the authority and the power of chiefs (Boadi 2001, 20). However,
despite these two major changes, chieftaincy is still very important in Ghana. Moreover, those
pressures did not affect the religiosity of chieftaincy, which have always served as a hindrance to
the involvement of Christians (Safo Kantanka 1993, 53).

to the discussion of chieftaincy and Christianity. For example in Ghana home movies, traditional
indigenous practice like ancestor worship and the pouring of libation is seen as backward and

Many [Christian chiefs] had faced criticism from other Christians who believed they could not

Christian chiefs face the dilemma of whether to embrace Christianity and forsake all traditional

Christian can become a chief. The issue of concern regards to the following questions: Is it
possible for a Christian to be a chief and still fully be committed to God and follow the teachings

First, if Sarah is so focused on not doing anything besides taking fertility medication, then for
myself, it would be very difficult to change her mind. If you ask me, I am a utilitarian and will
agree with Jim more than Sarah, even though I still believe in God. In Sarah case, I describe that
God died to wash out sins away, which were repentance comes in. I would tell Sarah that if we
do something against your religion or if that is a sin, explain to God that I did this for myself
and my family, knowing it was a sin but then ask for his forgiveness. Also, if that is promoting
the greater good for the overall majority, than that would be morally permissible for Jim and he
would find happiness in that. Sarah has think about how God died for all of our sins, meaning
he took his own life for the greater good, which to me, I think God or Jesus has utilitarian
characteristics. You also have to look at the risk associated with assisted reproductive and what
could the possible outcomes be. You could have no success in your journey of ART, but then you
could have great success with it. You could also hurt your body, which could cause physical harm
to Sarah body, but not just that, mental harm to Sarah and Jim. Mental illness is such a big issue
in today s world, especially depression and anxiety. You have to be realistic when it comes to ART,

The Statistical Data Set Taken From The 2012 General...
There are many statistical data sets that I could have used for this research, however I chose to
use the statistical data set taken from the 2012 General Social Survey (GSS2012.sav) because it
was conducted among individuals living in the United States of America, whom of which are my
units of analysis. The independent variable that I used for my research was respondent s sex,
which was labeled sex. For my dependent variable, I used respondent s income, labeled rincom06.
The control variables that I used were the race of respondents, labeled race_2, education after high
school, labeled educ_4, and age, labeled age_5.
I chose to use the control variable of race in order to determine whether one s race affected ones
pay, and highlight the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If I were to find a relationship between income and sex after the means comparison test, I would
run a multivariate regression test in order to analyze my dependent variable with my independent
and control variables.
For the purpose of the experiment, I must acknowledge that my hypothesis may be wrong. Therefor,
my null hypothesis is that there is no relationship between sex and income, proving that the pay gap
does not exist. My goal in my research is to reject my null hypothesis, and in turn accept my
working hypothesis.
Results
In order for a theory to be accepted, it must be tested. While one can rely upon the results of
other researchers, it is important to conduct one s own test in order to correctly receive results.
Although I read that there is a relationship between sex and income, I wanted to test these
variables for myself. In order to find an initial relationship I conducted a means comparison test
between my independent variable, sex, and my dependent variable, respondent s income. When I
ran the means comparison test I found that the average income of males was 15.54, the
equivalence of 15.54 with regards to income falls between the economic bracket of $25,000
$29,999 and $30,000 $34,999. The average income of females was 13.21, which fell between the
economic bracket of $20,000 $22,499 and $22,500 $24,999. This information has the potential to
show me that my hypothesis is correct because in this statistical test male respondents have

Collectivism Is More Rational Than Belief
I will be using rationality as the main criterion for evaluating which philosophy is preferable, so
the resolution can basically be re stated as belief in collectivism is more rational than belief in
individualism . My case revolves around 3 independently functioning reasons for why an
affirmation of the resolution is more plausible than a negation of it. I. Collectivism increases the
chances of individual success The logic underlying this is simple. A society, by definition, is a
group of individuals. So when we value the interests of society , we are really just valuing the
interests of the largest possible number of individuals within that society we are valuing the
interests of the majority. And since an individual is statistically more likely to part of the majority
than the minority (duh), collectivism ensures that any given individual is more likely to have
their interests protected than not. Thus, theoretically, collectivism increases the probability of
individual prosperity. However, this is not only demonstrable in theory; we can see empirical
examples of this holding true in practice as well. Just take a look at nature we can easily observe
a large variety of species that instinctively live in large, interactive groups in which collective
welfare is valued over individual welfare wolves, elephants, lions, chimpanzees, meerkats, bison,
sheep, antelopes, ants, bees, ducks, small fish, and many more fall into this category. There is a
reason why such a

Rites of Passage Essay
Rites of Passage Every day someone enters into a rite of passage whether it be by starting school, a
new job, marriage, a confirmation or communion rites of passage are common place. Two totally
different cultures have totally different rituals and rites of passage. The Apache would most
definitely have incredibly unique rituals compared to rural Maine and the catholic cultures therein.
The best way to see the differences is to compare the two different cultures.
Each ritual occurs in a holy place, the Apache on ritual grounds and the Confirmation rights at a

The whole community reaffirms their identity through the dance. Saturday is specifically
dedicated to the godmother while Sunday is the godfather s day. The girl, while awake is never
allowed to stop dancing, even on her knees at the end when she has to prove that she is fully
ready for womanhood. She is painted on her face and must stand up only with the aid of eagle
feathers. The gifts that are given are of varying value, but they definitely don t all have to do with
the religious purpose, TV s VCR s and other electronic devices are given here.
The confirmation is a much different ritual. It is not individual. There is a whole group of kids
going through the ritual at the same time. They all have sponsors standing next to, or behind
them during the whole ritual. The main difference of immediate comparison to be made is that
of the girl speaking and saying she will remember the ritual for the rest of her life. Here, about 8
years later, I don t even remember specifics about the rite of confirmation. The family time had
during a ritual such as this can not be had during normal everyday experiences. The whole lot to be

The Physiological Phenomena During Sex
This paper will explore the physiological phenomena during sex and if it holds to be proven about
all creatures. Sigmund Freud invented Psychoanalysis, which is the theory and therapy of treating
people who suffer from nervous disorders by researching the unconscious mind that makes us
repress or push our urges and desires. From Psychoanalysis, stems Psychosexual development,
which believe that from birth humans experience sxual energy going through five stages in their
life. This theory could have inspired the two researchers between the late 1950s and early 1960s,
William H. Masters and his partner, Virginia E. Johnson. Masters and Johnsondeeply investigated

Despite of all the data Masters and Johnson collected, Shere Hite was one their criticizer, who
strongly believe there was some faults in the information they wrote about females and orgasms.
The following questions will answer the confusion about sexuality:
What is Psychosexuality and how does it impact Masters and Johnson s work? Does animals prove
the Human Sexual Response cycle?
Does Hite highlight the flaws in the Human Sexual Response?
Therefore, Masters and Johnson s human sexual cycle is accurate because it efficiently sorts the
physiological changes for all creatures.
Psychosexuality
Animals and the human sexual response. In the empirical article, What Can Animal Models Tell
Us About Human Sexual Response? eas done by James G Pfaus, Tod E. Kippin, Genaro Coria

Johnson. The Human Sexual Response is a four stage model that has to do with physiological
responses of sexual stimulation. The question the focuses on was what can animal models tell us
about human sexual response and the hypothesis they focus on to examine how it causes desire and
how sexual stimulation. Neuroendocrinologist study animals, while Clinicians focus on humans

Essay on The Impact of Lenin on Russia and the Russian...
The Impact of Lenin on Russia and the Russian People
Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov (a.k.a Lenin) was born in 1870, into a middle class family.
In the year 1887 when Lenin was 17 his elder brother Alexandra was executed for conspiring to
assassinate the tsar. Lenin who was already well educated and fond of reading and writing was
encouraged to enter politics to make changes and to somehow avenge his brothers death. The long
term effects of this were that Lenin would later become one of the great revolutionary leaders of all
time.
Lenin begins to study law and the works of Karl Marx. He is then exiled to Siberia by the

When Tsar Nicholas II abdicates on March 1st 1917 Lenin is in Switzerland. He is now desperate
to return to Russia to help shape the future of the country. He feels that with the tsars abdication
leaving a provisional government in control a revolution will be possible in Russia.
When Lenin returns to Russia on 3rd April 1917 he announces what is known as the April Theses .
Lenin s programme was summed up in the words Peace, Bread and Land . Lenin promised the
people these things to get them on his side and to appeal to soldiers, workers and peasants. Lenin
guaranteed them these things to introduce his party and to encourage them to side with him rather
than the provisional government.
The long term affects of this were that once in power Lenin would have to keep his promise to the
people.
Lenin and Trotsky formed the Red Guard and set up the Military Revolutionary Committee which
planned the October Revolution. The revolution itself was reasonably peaceful. The plan was to
storm the Winter Palace but, almost everybody had lost faith in the provisional government and its
leader Korensky had already evacuated the capital. Initially the effects of this were that the
Bolsheviks came into power, the long term effects were they remained in power for most of the
century.
As a direct result of the October Revolution the

Electrical Engineering And The Field Of Engineering
Electrical Engineering is a well respected and growing field of engineering that centers on the
practical application of electricity, electromagnetism and electronics. The field is of considerable
necessity to modern life and infrastructure, having applications in many diverse branches of modern
life. Some of these include telecommunications, energy and power distribution, transportation,
manufacturing and consumer electronics. In this report we will go over the education and
coursework requirements, fields of the industry, the work environment, salary, tools of the trade,
and professional organizations of electrical engineers. According to Frederick Terman; Electrical
Engineeringas a discipline first appeared in the United States during the early 1880 s as classes in
physics and energy flows intended to prepare students to enter the new and fast growing electrical
manufacture industry. As the industry grew, EE education followed. Within ten years the discipline
made a place for itself along the more classical engineeringdepartments. An example of the
industry s adaptability to change would be the industry before and after the First World War.
Before WWI, work in the industry was concentrated primarily on the distribution of power,
building electric infrastructure using the properties of AC and DC circuits. Also before WWI,
many students did not opt to take on graduate work. Instead, students typically would obtain a

G.I. Bill of Rights
The GI Bill gave all returning veterans the freedom and opportunities that non veterans had, and
provided them with many benefits needed to live the American dream. The GI Bill gave the United
States veterans education. It also provided VA hospitals with veteranbenefits. The law also made a
possible loan of billions of dollars to purchase homes for millions of veterans. The G.I Bill gave
opportunity to pursue formal education which a lot of veterans did since education was pretty
much paid for. In the short run, many colleges and universities were seriously jeopardized. In the
late 1940 s veterans bought homes in many of the new suburbs for $8,000 with no down payment
required.
World War II had a great toll on the nation s economy. It hurt many Americans, and a lot of them
had to leave their education to serve as soldiers and sailors. The war used many of the already
shorted resources, and with a lot of the men who ran farms, bakeries, and meat providers being
taken into war, this led to a shortage of cash flow and resources. During WWII Roosevelt talked
over the matter with President George F. Zook and other leaders of the American Council of
Education. He believed the federal government had a responsibility and an important role in
helping returning veterans get an education. Several Bills branched off the GI Bill including a
Vocational Rehabilitation Bill. This bill provided federal funds to retrain and rehabilitate veterans
who had been disabled in the civilian defense industry. In a quote from history.com, In his speech
at the signing of the bill, Roosevelt acknowledged the sacrifices of

Flat Organization Model Essay
Every organization needs a model to which they can structure their companny on, it is how they
structure their organization that will determnine the relationship among the workers and the

is operational and resouresful in that the function of the organization can reach its common goal
and mission. Since no company can function on it s own it is imperative for the company to ensure
commitment and integrety. Therfore, no matter which model an organiztion uses there will be pros

pros to this. The first is the decentralization of the company, which... Show more content on

Although we are addressing the needs of the patient and we have compasion in our job, the idea
of nursing shortages, and understaffing is a big issue among the nurses. In order to appropiately
meet the needs of our clients and improve their health, the organiztion has to implement some
type of way to get the patient ratios to nurses to a safe level, decrease the fatigue of the nurses,
thus decreasing the turnover (Huber, 2014). In addition, I feel that caring for the staff is lacking
in the organiztion and with the lack of caring comes the lack of euthisam to do the job you were
hired to do. In order to correct this, companies need to first of all, evaluate why the staff feels like
the managers or facility are uncaring. We at OhioHealth have yearly evaluation of the company in
which we can annominsly state our concerns, our feelings of our manager, staff, and insurance just
to name a few. Consequently, the managers along with the Chief executive manager, summerize our

were no plant life on the planet. Most of the things that were on the planet were rocks. The most
common type of rock was Isua greenstone. Most rocks have been eroded away, subducted, or
metamorphosed. During this time, the atmospheres and oceans were formed, plate tectonics
began to build up continental masses. The air during this time was mostly made up of water
vapor, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen. Later on, oxygen was formed from early animals taking in
carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. Scientists know this because oxygen was formed with iron,

Ordovician Period The Ordovician Period lasted almost 45 million years. During this period, most
of the area was almost entirely ocean, and most of the world s land was collected into the southern
supercontinent Gondwana. Throughout the Ordovician, Gondwana was submerged underwater.
This period is best known for its animals, including graptolites, trilobites, brachiopods, and the
conodonts. Plants invaded the land during this period. The most recent types of like animal was
tetrahedral spores that are similar to land plants have been found, suggesting that plants invaded
the land at this time. Later during the period, the Earth experienced a milder climate; the
weather was warm and the atmosphere contained a lot of moisture. Although, when Gondwana
finally settled on the South Pole, massive glaciers formed, and caused shallow seas, and sea
levels to drop. This most likely caused extinctions at the end of the Ordovician in which 60% of
all marine invertebrate genera and 25% of all families went extinct. The ecosystems was still
dominized by algae and sponges, and in some cases by bryozoans. However, there apparently
were also periods of complete reef collapse because to global disturbances. The major global
patterns of life went through changes during the Ordovician period. Many species of graptolites
went extinct by the close of the period, but the first planktonic

  • 2. Essay On Reimbursement Reimbursement is the blood of any healthcare facility. The rates of reimbursement are varied based on insurance payers, location, and other factors. Medicare is the biggest insurance payers in the healthcare industry. The Medicare reimbursements for providers are based on providers work, practice expenses, and professional liability. A relative value unit (RVU) is assigned to each of the three factors, which calculates the workload or expended efforts in caring for patients by providers. Among those, practice expense is calculated based on the actual expenses that practices invest in the process of care for patients, which is about 41 percent of total reimbursements. Adopting new technologies to comply with constant changes in rules and regulations of healthcare as well as improve care process for patients is a part of practice expenses. The Food and Drug Administration promotes medical technology innovation but the CMS does not have any guideline to reimburse providers and healthcare facilities for it (Stark Jaeger, 2011).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The payments for this preventive care are different ranging from $60 to $70 for commercial insurance and $66.22 for Medicare. The payment is too low compared to other imaging procedures and do not include the fee for new technologies, such as digital and computer assist detection. The Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) adds extra financial burdens to mammography facilities by requiring that all facilities must satisfy the minimum standard for technologists, radiologists, physicists, and equipment. The requirements increase costs but does not increase reimbursement to cover those costs for healthcare facilities, which may become heavy burdens for small and low volume facilities (Nass, Henderson, Lashof, ... • 3. The Emperor s Test And The Mystery Ingredient The Emperor s Test , and The Mystery Ingredient are very similar stories but then again, they are very different. The Emperor s Test is a folktale story with traditional language. Unlike, The Mystery Ingredient which is a more modern version of The Emperor s Test with today s modern language. Ling, the main character in The Emperor s Test, is conscientious, courageous, and honest. Similar to Leona, main character in The Mystery Ingredient, she is open, fair, and modest. These characters relate to each other by their actions and inner thoughts. Even tho the stories have some contrast, both stories have the same moral which is honesty will be reward. The Emperor s Test is a traditional folktale, because it s set in a distance place long ago,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is more modern because the story has been written in the present, uses modern language, and the theme is not stated directly but it is hidden between the lines. This story is more modern because as you read this story, they talk about things that did not exist back in the day. For example, ... Chef Fiore s restaurant were packed every night, his cookbooks were bestsellers, and his latest tv show was broadcasted worldwide (49). When we think of traditional stories we think of fairytales, folktales, and myths but this one doesn t seem to be any of those, it uses today s everyday language than the original traditional language. Therefore, we can infer this story was written in the present. The theme of The Mystery Ingredient is the same as the previous story but it s not found as easy in the text as the first story. The story states, The mystery ingredient is guaranteed to ruin any recipe. So I know that the only one who actually used it is Leona! The rest of you broke the rules, and you re all disqualified. Leona, next time you ll be hosting this show yourself! (51). Reading this quote, it doesn t give away anything besides that Leona won her own tv show. If we think more about this sentence we can see she won because she was honest and now she is taking over her favorite Chef s tv show. • 4. Ishtar Gate Research Paper Another spectacular structure in Babylon is the Ishtar Gate. The Ishtar gate is the eighth and final entrance to the city of Babylon, but it is the main way to enter the city on special occasions. The Ishtar Gate was constructed by the means of Nebuchadnezzar around 575 BC. He built this to make his city beautiful and full of life along with the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The Ishtar Gate was originally one of the Seven Wonders of the World like the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, but was removed and replaced with something suppodsly better than this beautiful gate and the walls that surround it. Marduk was a god, but historians believe what he was god of is unclear because of the fact that it is very complicated, and they do not have enough evidence to support it. The tiles of the actual gate were glazed blue tiles. The blue tiles are believed to come from lapis lazuli which is a metamorphic rock packed with the dense, rich mineral called lazurite. After entering and passing through the gatehouse, a long, straight path called the Processional Way runs into Babylon. This is about half a mile long paved with red brick on the outer parts and yellow brick in the middle. Each of the bricks used to make the path have a inscription underneath them. The inscriptions are small prayers from King Nebuchadnezzar to Marduk the god. The walls are estimated at about fifty feet high, and the wall are lined with around one hundred and twenty lions made of gold, brown, and yellow bricks. The lions represent the goddess that the whole gate is named after, Ishtar.175 The Processional Way was used for the New Year s celebration, through which statues of the deities would parade down. • 6. Stevenson s Use of Literary Techniques to Portray Evil in... This essay will focus on how Robert Louis Stevenson presents the nature of evil through his novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde . Using ideas such as duality, the technique used to highlight the two different sides of a character or scene, allegories, an extended metaphor which has an underlying moral significance, and hypocrisy; in this book the Victorians being against all things evil but regularly taking part in frown able deeds that would not be approved of in a respectable society. This links in with the idea of secrecy among people and also that evil is present in everyone. The novel also has strong ties and is heavily influenced by religion. Stevenson, being brought up following strong... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This gives the impression that Hyde is a monster than comes out only when it is dark and nobody can see him. Whatever he is, he cannot be called human. In Victorian England, if a person looked ugly, criminal like or giving an impression of deformity they were considered to be ugly and criminal like inside to. If you imagine a person reading this story when that was what was thought, the description of Mr Hyde would instantly label him as the bad character. During the story Hyde s actions compounds our first impressions of him. Stevenson never says exactly what Hyde takes pleasure in on his nightly forays but it is thought to be of things that would ruin Jekyll s reputation if they ever came out. There is thought to be strong ties to drugs, alcohol addiction and other dangerous dealings; he had once visited her (the maid s) master and for whom she had conceived a dislike . In the very first chapter, Mr Enfield tells his friend, Mr Utterson, a story where he witnessed a strange looking man walking along a deserted street, who trampled calmly over (a) child s body and left her screaming on the ground when they collided. When Mr Utterson approaches Hyde in the street, Hyde shrinks back with a hissing intake . Zimbardo And Milgram Experiment The risk to human participants in the noteworthy experiments Milgram (1963) and Haney, Banks, and Zimbardo (1973) has advanced our understanding of power and obedience by highlighting the significant influence of social situations on personal behaviour. However, as many subsequent experiments on power and obedience have produced similar findings yet with a greater regard to ethical principles and minimising risk to participants, the risks to participants were only necessary to a small extent. Further, these experiments were conducted at a time when the psychological community did not have stringent ethical guidelines. • 8. Women s Rights In The 20th Century Throughout history, political and social life were all controlled and regulated by men. As a result women often lived their life in silence and were banned from participating in their society. However, from the start of the 20th century, this cycle of white male dominance was quickly challenged by various minority groups. The Women s Rights Movement, Gay Liberation Movement, and the African American Civil Rights Movement to name a few all demanded basic human rightsand to be treated equally as their straight white male counterpart. In 1977, Harvey Milk, a gay rights activist, became the first openly gay person to be elected to public office in California (he won a seat on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors). About year later, on June 25, 1978, he gave a powerful speech on the steps of the San Francisco City Hall demanding equality not only for the LGBTQ community but for everyone. Similarly, on September 5, 1995, Hillary Clinton, the First Lady at the time, transformed the world as she delivered a moving speech on women s rights. • 9. History of Economic Thought History of economic thought Theorists who have shaped the development of economy and economic thought through the centuries have invariably been affected by their countries and situations. That this is so can be traced by eh thoughts of some of the most prominent economic theoreticians that include Smith, Ricardo, Malthus, Marx, and Keynes. Each of these in turn has produced their own ideas about reproduction of labor force in classical political economy. Labor has traditionally been related to growth outcome of product and trade, rise (and as some see it negative influence or increasing rationalization) of capitalism, and complexity of industrialization. Adam Smith is widely considered the founder of economics and the father of capitalism. What is less well known is the fact that he was influenced by French philosophers and writers who shared his dislike of mercantilism. Influenced by these writers, Smith developed the theory of an invisible hand that became the bedrock of Western Capitalism. Often misquoted, Smith is both praised and discredited as the father of one of the most influential movements in history. Smith was the first oen who was prescriptive rather than descriptive and hence the popularity of his system. According to Smith, in his Wealth of Nations, competition is the foundational source of national wealth and governments should refrain and abstain from interfering in free trade. On the contrary, tariffs, taxes, and other regulations should serve purely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He replied with, it is hard for me to study and focus, due to his anxiety and stress (R, Logan). Afterward, I asked, compared to his peers, he told me he feels left out because other students finish homework or tests before me. He also stated, I am always the last one (R, Logan). • 14. An Analysis of Benjamin Franklin s Autobiography Introduction Benjamin Franklin is revered by Americans as one of its most revered and adored founding fathers. For foreigners, Benjamin Franklin became the very icon of America, not only because he was accomplished, but because he was a new man, a man that could only have been made in America. Franklin came to be seen as the embodiment of American values. The image and the values promoted in Franklin s autobiography would later come to be regarded as essential American virtues: determination, industriousness, and self sufficiency. It was purportedly these virtues which led to his great practical accomplishments in publishing, politics, and science. In a sense, Franklin s autobiography was the first exposition of the now famous American Dream. Thesis: In his autobiography, Franklin is undoubtedly concerned with developing virtue and self improvement, but relies on others as the primary frame of reference for his own progress, always measuring himself with others. This habit of comparison results in the development of vices as well as virtues. Background Aims At the start of the First Chapter, Franklin claims to write only so that his own life may be an example for his son of how one can live well and how one can get through hardships. In fact, Rosemary Radford Ruether claims in her book Sexism and GodTalk, Male monotheism has been so taken for granted in Judeo Christian culture that the peculiarity of imaging God solely through one genderhas not been recognized (53). We can easily address where some of these issues that arise from this might lie the lack of inclusion in practice, specifically in the Catholic Church with their opposition to the ordination of women modeled after this God, the lack of a sense of afterlife that is attainable by women, and a lack of accessibility to other figures and symbols in the church. More than that, we can point to the issues of their being directly related to sin , as well as the shunning and lack of acknowledgement that spills into shaming of their bodies. Often, however, we ignore the results of these issues. As a direct result of the damage done by patriarchal traditions and patriarchal views of God, women are ill equipped to deal with difficult aspects of their lives. Not only did they show that has the Nancy Reagan philosophy been ineffective, the article subtly made a point to highlight how wasteful it must have been to use our tax money to fund ineffective police educational programs. While no statistics were shown, the fact that these programs were found to be highly ineffective gives this argument quite a bit of merit. Parallel to this, in 1986 congress passed the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act which mandated a zero tolerance policy to drugs in schools. This was the first time police officers began arresting students straight out of schools. This fact also shines light on the how destructive a simple minded ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. The Music Of Music And Music In The Hobbit The Hobbit Essay There are approximately thirteen songs in The Hobbit, enough for one in almost every chapter. Although it cannot be classified as a musical because all the characters are aware that they are singing, the music still plays an essential role in the development of the story. Many characters from almost all of the races Tolkien introduces us to compose a song at one point in the story. These songs integrate relevant details of lore, character development, and a glimpse into the world of Middle Earth. If a reader investigates further into the songs and poems of The Hobbit, they will find that Tolkien uses poems and songs to reveal important attributes and estab lish the history and motives of different species, such as dwarves, elves, and goblins. One of the first races the readers are introduced to are the dwarves. These short and squat creatures were once great miners and metal workers whose kingdom was taken by the dragon Smaug. One of the songs that the Dwarves sing in the first chapter, titled Over the Misty Moun tains Cold, has a somber and vengeful tone. It has a simple structure of only four lines per stan za and contains repetition of lines. The rhythm is reminiscent of the repetitive swing of pickaxes, reflecting the straightforward and sturdy nature of dwarves, and their connection to mining. It speaks about the ancestry of the dwarves, the splendor and loss of their city of Dale to Smaug, and how they must regain what ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Friedrich Weber s Theory Of Psychology PSYCHOLOGY Psychology is defined as the study of thought and behavior. A substantial amount of people believes that psychology is not a specific scientific discipline. Social sciences study humans as individuals or as groups. The scientific method subsists of five processes, which include observation, prediction, testing, interpretation, and communication. Ernst Weber was born 1795 and died 1878, was one of the first developers who planned an approach and prepared for what was accepted in psychophysics. For example, Weber explored the littlest adjustment in weights or length that people could anticipate. In 1850, Weber had awareness that one could exam the psychological and physical creations with his mentor, Gustav Fechner (1801 1889). Fechner arranged the term psychological for this new development, and went on to define some of Weber s principles of perception. Wilhelm Wundt (1832 1920) created the first psychology laboratory in Leipzig, Germany in 1879, which unfolded psychology into a science. He studied psychology as its ability from philosophy and physiology. Creating a laboratory, Wundt constructed a place where students could study the science of psychology. With more than 180 students and over 100 coming from different countries, the students took in the knowledge of experimental psychology under Wundt s instruction. The stores are predominantly based in the Western society, with styles influenced by Asian culture, cloth sourced from China and the finished product being made in India and then shipped to the Western stores, this is a great deal of global connections for one garment, although by some standards, it is small. The introduction of the central government system in Ghana interfered in the institution of chieftaincy and reduced much of the authority and the power of chiefs (Boadi 2001, 20). However, despite these two major changes, chieftaincy is still very important in Ghana. • 41. Collectivism Is More Rational Than Belief I will be using rationality as the main criterion for evaluating which philosophy is preferable, so the resolution can basically be re stated as belief in collectivism is more rational than belief in individualism . My case revolves around 3 independently functioning reasons for why an affirmation of the resolution is more plausible than a negation of it. I. Collectivism increases the chances of individual success The logic underlying this is simple. A society, by definition, is a group of individuals. So when we value the interests of society , we are really just valuing the interests of the largest possible number of individuals within that society we are valuing the interests of the majority. And since an individual is statistically more likely to part of the majority than the minority (duh), collectivism ensures that any given individual is more likely to have their interests protected than not. Thus, theoretically, collectivism increases the probability of individual prosperity. However, this is not only demonstrable in theory; we can see empirical examples of this holding true in practice as well. Just take a look at nature we can easily observe a large variety of species that instinctively live in large, interactive groups in which collective welfare is valued over individual welfare wolves, elephants, lions, chimpanzees, meerkats, bison, sheep, antelopes, ants, bees, ducks, small fish, and many more fall into this category.
