Gender Equality And Gender Differences Of The Play Top...
The plays Top Girls and A Streetcar Named Desire are written in ways that explore the issues
surrounding gender equality and gender differences. Churchill explores the ideas of a feminist
utopia where the men and women live in separate spheres which are prescribed to suit the
stereotypical roles of the genders. For example at this time power dressing was a real strategy
used by the new breed of feminists struggling for identity in society. We learn about the relationship
between women and working. However, Williams s characters in A StreetCar Named Desire
crucially succumb to the prescribed genderroles where the women are expected to be meekly
obedient in a patriarchal society ruled by the opposite sex.
Top Girls is set in the early 1980 s, and mainly plays with two main concerns travelling around the
1980 s feminism and socialism. We unravel a great number of ideas within the novel that mirror
the characters rejection of their gender roles. The theme in Top Girls is mostly addressing the
ideologies around feminism at a significant time. This is portrayed in a direct manner and tone
which veer from bizarre and dreamlike to mundane and give us an insight of the contemporary
events going on outside of the play. The time this play was written holds high importance as it was
the time of power dressing and was a real up lift for women struggling for identity in modern
society.
Churchill portrays the central protagonist Marlene as representing the rise of women s

RISD Personal Statement
I currently attend the Rhode Island School of Design, a prestigious art and design institution,
majoring in Graphic Design. Having attended RISD for the past two years, I have experienced
what is valuable and matured to find out what I want for myself. Simply, I want to pursue a
computation/computer science related field upholding values of strong design application. Looking
at alumni in relation to my skills and interests, I have assurance that I will do fine, but I don t want
to do just fine. As an artist and designer of the 21st century, it is important for me to know and
connect the values of technology with design to enhance communication in relation to the current
age. Although RISD is a great institution, it does not offer the specific resources that I want to
pursue; I am interested in an environment that can cultivate my passion in other applications
whereas RISD is rooted in a more departmental tradition. I believe that in order to have a more
complex understanding of one subject, investigating other subjects through a design mindset, would
allow me to seek a more passionate advance towards design. Rather than existing in a bubble where
art and design were merely conventions to live by, a more integrative approach to design, to see
computational knowledge incorporated into the fundamentals of design, and vice versa, is
something that I want to contribute to the developing world. Design does not live within an art
school but it exists within its application. Thus, I want to transfer to an institution that can offer an
intersection of design and computation.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Success of Franklin D. Roosevelt s New Deal
Franklin D. Roosevelt s New Deal package of legislation set a new precedent for United States
involvement in cultural development. The New Deal was characterized by liberal use of
government resources to provide relief, recovery, and reform to a nation that had been reeling from
the aftermath of the Great Depression. While the immediate success of Roosevelt s New Dealin
mitigating the effects of the Great Depression is debatable, it s long lasting impact on American
government is still felt today. One of the earliest major programs of the New Deal was the Glass
Steagall Banking Reform Act, which created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or FDIC.
The FDIC initially insured bank deposits up to $5,000 and was integral in restoring Americans
confidence in U.S. banks. As a result, people slowly resumed depositing their money in banks,
which in turn helped banks get back to business. Another early New Deal program was the
Unemployment Relief Act, which created the Civilian Conservation Corps(CCC). Throughout the
program s history, the CCC put approximately three million unemployed young men to work on
conservation projects around the country. These projects consisted of building bridges,
constructing dams for flood control and generating energy, and planting 200 million trees to act as
wind barriers in areas afflicted by the Dust Bowl. While these two early New Deal programs
offered relief from banking concerns and rising unemployment, Roosevelt s administration was

Who Is Meursault s Irony In Albert Camus The Outsider
Albert Camus novel The Stranger follows the life of M. Meursault, a sales clerk in 1940 s Algiers,
from the death of his mother to his execution. Meursault, throughout the novel, embodies Camus s
absurdist philosophies: he disregards emotion, speaks his mind, and seems apathetic about his life.
Meursault s apathy is unusual, and thus, according to the incongruity theory of humor, is funny for
most readers. As the theory states, however, Meursault s apathy is only funny to the reader that
does not expect it, and thus the humor in the book only applies to a sect of the readers. Yet the
themes of rejection and hopelessness in the book appeal to all readers and diminish the humor in
the novel. Camus essay The Myth of Sisyphus furthers the idea... Show more content on

While waiting for his trial, a chaplain shoves a cross in Meursault s face and asks Do you know
what this is? (68) Meursault asserts his atheism and thus rejects religion. The humor in this scene
stems both from Meursault s character and the chaplain s conviction to convert Meursault. First,
Meursault is easily distracted and his comments are unexpected, and, following the incongruity
theory, are funny. While the chaplain is yelling at Meursault, Meursault says [it was] hard to
follow [the chaplain s] reasoning because it was hot and big flies kept landing on my face. (68)
Second, the chaplain is determined to reveal Meursault s [belief] in God ; thus, Meursault s
continual rejection of the God, according to the relief theory, is funny (69). The crucifix, in the
scene, symbolizes more than christianity: it represents the afterlife and the search for a higher
being, values that are deeply ingrained in society. Thus, Meursault s rejection of the crucifix, which
aligns well with Camus absurdism, serves as a shunning of hope for a better life in the moment and
an afterlife. In his essay, The Myth of Sisyphus, Camus exemplifies his point from The Stranger by
saying that the whole being is exerted toward accomplishing nothing. (1) The hopelessness and
meaningless nature that both The Myth of Sisyphus and The Stranger identify cannot, and does
not, make for comic or even humorous material; the big philosophical questions

Descriptive Animal Animals
A few years ago, me and my Mom went to a fall exotic animal auction, which took place over by
Pierz. It was mid October sothe mornings had a bite to them and the days were cool. We woke
up at 6:00 in the morning so we could get our rabbits, which we were bringing to the auction to
sell, settled in their cages. We had filled each cage with hay the night before so they would be
warm for the ride there and for the time they d be stuck sitting in their cages. After we loaded them
up, we headed to the auction. Once we arrived at the auction, we brought the bunnies over to the
people who tagged their cages and brought them out to the barn to be stacked up next to other
cages. The other cages were filled with exotic birds and some other rabbits. In some of the pens
inside the auction barn, they had pigs, goats, sheep, and emus. The outside pens had a variety of
cow breeds like the shaggy highlanders and brahmas. There were also horses, ponies, alpacas,
buffalo, and llamas. We alway arrive early, so people are still coming in with animals they would
be auctioning off that day. My Mom and I went into the auction barn to see if they had anything
interesting out there that we might like to acquire. As we walked through the barn, we saw some
golden pheasants and some peacocks, so my mom wrote their tag numbers down on her mini
notebook that she brought along with her. We also checked out the rabbits that other people had
brought to see if there were any that we were interested in.

The Human Condition Of The World
The Human Condition can be argued to be in a crisis with its position in modern society.
With a massive decline in personal interaction, corruption in government, and the event of
climate change that has never before been seen in the history of this planet. There are few small
groups around the world that try to make this crisis known to the world, although many world
powers and much of the population choose to either deny or ignore the cry for help. There is a
plethora of ways to spread the word, and one of the most common is through writing; authors
such as Jared Diamond or Al Gore commit their lives to informing the world about the decline of
the human condition. There are also authors that do not rely on pressing these matters ... Show more

Understanding just how temptation, culture and relationships can be interpreted as magic reveals
how these authors use their genre to inform the population of the failing human condition.
When the term magic is brought up in any kind of media, the immediate thought of
most people is fairy dust, unicorns, or J.K. Rowling s Harry Potter series; although the magic
in Magical Realism is truly none of that at all. The magic in Magical Realism comes from the
characters in the novels, through their thoughts and actions they create the magic that exists in
these novels. In these themes the magic reveals itself, they appear as unstoppable forces in
human nature that cannot be derived to an elementary force, and thus appears magical.
Temptation for instance, appears in A Hundred Years of Solitude and Invisible Cities to lure men
to unspeakable fates that impact the rest of their lives and the lives of the people around them.
Although the essence of temptation is an unexplainable force that exists blatantly to lead
humanity away from morality, the same force exists within the other two reoccurring themes that
are seen in Magical Realism. For example, relationships are emphasized and seen often in Life of
Pi and A Hundred Years of Solitude and are put in place to show how they play a key role in the
stories. The same force that deals with temptation

The King Who Was Well Bred Rose And Went To Meet Her Analysis
Consider the word see in line 606, as Lanval s love enters the room she is immediately noticed.
This prompt response to her entrance straightaway reveals the implications of her beauty and the
importance it has on Lanval s trial along with the male relation the females in this time period.
Women are objectified to a certain extent yet also essential to the inner workings of society. This
can also be observed in the context of this passage due to the fact that the queenmade the
accusations against Lanval and though they were lies the extensive reach of her authority is
notable. Also consider the line 607 The king who was well bred rose and went to meet her
(166). This line directly relates aspects of the chivalric code to a woman s beauty due to the fact
that the king was well bred he did not make her walk all the way to him and instead rose to meet...

While at the same time as exemplifying masculinity through chivalry this line also begins the
subversion of gender roles by putting the woman in the more dominant position she is now in
control of this situation. In the following line it is stated that all the others honored her and
offered to serve her (166). The use of the verbs honor and offer are direct effects of the way they
see her which continues to implicate the importance of her beauty while also putting her in a
dominant role. This is emphasized once again in lines 611 612 When they had looked at her
well, when they greatly praised her beauty (166). This is another instance in which a verb,
praised, is a direct result of seeing her beauty. This direct relation between such verbs and her
presence helps to demonstrate her force and impact as a woman along with her characterization as
a sovereign being. In lines 613 614 it is stated that she spoke in this way, she didn t want to wait

Montag s Use Of Control In Fahrenheit 451
Next, all three of these titles had ways they implemented control. In the novel Fahrenheit 451,
implementation of control was through television. One day Mildred, the wife of the main
character, Montag, was in the house with nothing but TV s everywhere. Then from the novel,
Montag said, How long you figure we save up and get a fourth TV put in? . This quote explains one
way control was implemented through televisionbecause this shows how nowadays most of
people s main concern is the TV. TV is their main source for implementing control because with
this source, they can tell everyone what they want the people to hear. Especially because everyone
has a TV, they can just show people on commercials how books are unacceptable, as well as... Show

In Fahrenheit 451, the plan for control wasn t too effective by the end of the story. Beatty s plan
was to have knowledge over everyone, but it didn t end that way. The last thing Montag the
main character and hero of the novel said was, When we reach the city. This quote explains how
Beatty s plan didn t work out, because if Beatty s plan had ve worked, Montag wouldn t be able
to leave the town. Montag also has a dramatic effect on Beatty, which left him to kill himself, and
later the city explodes. In the novel, 1984, the effectiveness of the plan failed and became a
dystopian for the main character, Winston. Towards the end of the story, Winston shows how
Big Brother had finally gotten to him by telling the love of his life, Julia, Under the spreading
chestnut tree,I sold you and you sold me . This quote represents how the effectiveness of the
utopian society failed because it shows how Winston started off as a normal person, and by
brainwashing him, they turned him into a totally different person. For the people of that society
hope is very low, thanks to the team of people always watching making their lives miserable.
Finally, in the movie The Giver, the effectiveness of their plan to control the people failed. Jonas
the hero of this movie had became the new receiver for the injections and medicine and stopped
giving them to the people because he believed in human rights and giving a chance for the people
to have their own feelings. Due to Jonas s braveness, he was able to change the Elder s utopia into
a dystopia. It then became a utopia for the people because they have feelings and can express
themselves now. All three titles had an equally ineffective utopia, and ended up with their plans
failing. Regardless of the implementation or motivation, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, and The Giver, are
all unsuccessful in establishing a utopia because you can t control

Why I Want To Marry Cromwell
Cromwell was at the height of power, religious success and continued to have a tight hold on his
master King Henry VIII. After the death of Henry s third wife Jane Seymour, Cromwell advised
a new political marriage for the king. To pursue his own advantage and build Protestant
connections in Europe, Cromwell suggested the king take a German bride. This would also aid
Cromwell against anti Cromwell factions and nobilities, due to the potential bride being an
outsider rather than English noblewomen. Cromwell finally found success in the Duke of Cleves
sister Anne. Henry, eager to marry once again, sent his artist to paint her portrait, determined to
have a beautiful wife. Henry received her portrait and approved of the young Anne of Cleves, she
soon set sail for England, an enormous accomplishment for Cromwell s domestic and foreign

1540 and executed for treason on 28 July, still protesting his innocence to his master. This is
evident in his final letter to Henry, begging his mercy. ...Written at the Tower this Wednesday, the

Quentin Jacobsen was an un adventurous boy who lived a relatively unadventurous, boring life.
Living across the street was the complete opposite, Margo Roth Spiegelman. She was daring,
beautiful, and loved mystery and adventures. Quentin was used to admiring her amazing life
from afar, until one night a blue eyed girl in all black burst from the window. That girl was
Margo Roth Spiegelman herself. She dragged him out of bed and asked for him to drive her
around town to get revenge and go on an adventure . While out in the many places they went that
night, Margo talks about Paper Townsand how her town of Orlando, Florida was just a Paper

from Orlando, she believes that she is getting farther and farther from her old paper self. But she
doesn t know that as she is becoming more real she is letting down people who saw her as paper
by not being perfect. Margo doesn t see herself as paper, she thinks of herself as real, just
surrounded by all paper people. But she soon realizes that all her peers and people around her
aren t paper, and actually are real people she doesn t know enough. It s then realized that Margo
is the same as everyone else, she is equal to everyone else around her, and is not the only real
person amongst paper people. On some fundamental level we find it difficult to understand that
other people are human beings the same way we are. We idealize them as gods or dismiss them
as animals. (Green, 164) Paper Towns uses a lot of symbolism to represent the feeling of
emptiness and something being unrealistic. The paper towns are fake towns that have no real
meaning. Q realizes that the real version of Margo isn t his miracle in life because Margo isn t
everything that he had built her up to be. John Green uses symbolism throughout the novel to
demonstrate how one sees himself, outlooks on life, and ways of viewing other people in the

Marketing And Sales Being The Same Thing
Introduction
Numerous people believe the thought of marketing and sales being the same thing. Conversely,
sales are only one bit of the entire marketing process. In order to comprehend the idea, it is crucial
to understand the marketing mix. Prior to a business choosing to launch an item into the business
sector there are variables and components that should be considered. Variables in marketingare
considered part of the marketing mix that is set up before the advertising program begins which
thus characterizes the four factors known as the four Ps . The variables in advertising will decide
the components of the item and how the purchaser or client sees the item. The four Ps consist of
product, price, promotion, and place.
For instance, Victoria s Secret a very well known company covering a wide variety of products such
as women sleepwear, swimsuits, clothing, underwear and cosmetics uses the marketing mix to their
advantage. Their most recent inventive step that the company made was the presentation of a line
called PINK. The line was launched with the point of growing the essential target market which
included young women in their mid 20s. In the present day, the target market also involves women
in their teens with the most recent PINK line. PINK had to be capable of designing want satisfying
products, setting a correct price for the items based on their target audience, putting the products in
places where customers will purchase them, and lastly create promotions

China And Indi The World s Fastest Developing Economies...
China and India are two of the world s fastest developing economies and most populous nations on
the earth. The question is whether Chindia is a friend or a threat to the United States. Together
these nations have attributed to prosperity, but are it beneficial or harming to others?
Chindia can pose many threats to surrounding nations and competitors. China is taking dominance
as becoming the world exporter. With all of their products they are able to offer lower prices and
beating out many other industries. India is able to produce products at cheaper costs and provide
cheap labor. Their textile industry is a prime example. Many of the products needed for their
textile industry are produced in their own country so little is imported. They are able to produce
products faster because the materials are local and there is no need to wait for imports. The
products are produce cheaper because of cheap labor, and there is no need for storage costs because
very few goods are imported. When it comes to producing goods cheaper, offering lower prices to
the consumers, and becoming a world exporter, Chindia is the leader.
Together China and India attributed to prosperity and there are mutual economic benefits. Both
countries have formed stronger economic bonds. They have openly cooperated with one another in
multi lateral trade negotiations. As emerging economies continue to grow, there may be a further
decline in the share of world output and world exports accounted for by the

The Importance Of Prenatal Care
The Importance of Prenatal Care Pregnancy can either be the most wonderful time in a woman s
life or the scariest and quite often it is both at the same time. One of the first things that most
women do when they become pregnant or even before they become pregnant is focus on their
prenatal care. This time in the womb is very important in a baby s development and taking care of
the body is something that is extremely beneficial to the wellbeing of a newborn. Prenatal care is
probably one of the most important parts of pregnancyin general. There are many things that
women can do in order to get the prenatal care that is needed in order to prevent diseases of the
mother that can lead to birth defects of the child and long term problems for the mother as well.
The first thing that should be done when becoming pregnant is to visit a doctor. The doctor will
administer a blood test to ensure the pregnancy and get started on prenatal care. They will ask
about the patient s medical history and gynecological history as well as run tests. Throughout the
pregnancy, visits to the doctor are vital. They are spread out at first and toward the end of the
pregnancy will be more frequent. During these visits patients can ask questions and voice concerns
they have with the pregnancy as well as being able to see ultrasounds and running tests to make
sure everything is okay with the child and mother. According to an article in the European Journal

Comparing Mariana And The Lady Of Shalott
The poetry written during the Industrial Revolution reflects the mentality of 19th century British
citizens with anxious, questioning tones, and the desire for returning to simpler times with
romantic ideals. Both Mariana and The Lady of Shalott evoke questions about the place for women
during the Industrial Revolution because Lord Alfred Tennyson characterizes both female
characters as vulnerable in the absence of a man. The portrayal of the characters Mariana and The
Lady of Shalott as weak is evident in the settings of each poem because they reside in trapped and
abandoned spaces, are easily controlled by their surroundings, and the dark and lightless worlds
they both live in without a man. Exploring how the troubling settings mirror... Show more content

within Victorian poetry, and in their absence women are forced to live in dejected shadows.
Mariana is completely devoid of any light within her life and constantly laments, [m]y life is

Intimate Partner Violence Case Study
Is there a difference in decision making on parental care between abused and non abused women
attending MCH services in Melbourne.
Project aims and significance
Intimate partner violence (IPV) has been recognised as an issue which needs to be addressed due to
its negative consequences on health of individuals. The World Health Organisation (WHO) defines
Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) as any act between intimate relations which results into physical,
emotional, sexual trauma or any other form of restriction or isolation from family and friends
which can lead to undesirable health outcomes (Organization, 2012). Violence do exists between

Organ Trading Decline
Organ Trading: The decline in Human Morals
While it safe to think that once we all pass on, we would want to make use of our body for a
beneficiary for another, there are some disadvantages that come along with certain organs of our
body. Organ trading is something that happens on a day to day basis around the world, and it is
certainly making headlines. There are many reasons why people do undertake organ trading, some
for monetary benefits, or for people who are in life threatening situations. Organ trading affects
not only the people who are giving their organs, but also the people who buy the organs. While
this can be up for debate, the Perspective that will be looked at in this report, Human Dignity is

This is prominent in the article Living Cadavers in Bangladesh as 33 kidney sellers had traded
their kidneys, and were tricked into selling their organs and being deceived by the buyers with
false promises (Moniruzzaman, 2012). These people have been deceived by the buyers,
thinking that they can succumb to their demands, as they are in deep poverty, or are trying to
go overseas for a better life. The buyers post advertisements in newspapers, since people read
them, and because they do not know what it all means, they proceed with the advert and get their
kidney out. This demonstrates the society that all human beings live in being deceived by the
well off people for their own motive, making the less fortunate face difficulties, and in return, get
shamed by society and having to deal with that guilt and betrayal for the rest of their lives. It
would be hard to gain dignity back again as it is something that takes time to heal, regardless if

Attachment Theory Is Defined As The Emotional And...
Attachment Theory is defined as the emotional and psychological bond between a child and their
caregiver, which starts from birth and is believed to last a lifetime. (Arxcis, 2017). The first
published works of attachment theory were done by John Bowlby, a child psychiatrist, in 1969,
with Mary Ainsworth, a Canadian psychologist, later collaborating with Bowlby to include
different attachment types. Bowlby s theory, which was influenced from Konrad Lorenz s idea of
familial imprinting, stated that attachment bonds would begin to form up until nine months of age
in an infant. From nine months, up until two to three years of age, attachment types would be
observable (Arxcis, 2017). In the 1950 s, Ainsworth set out on an in depth study to... Show more

Whether they are sick, tired, hungry, or upset, caregivers of children with secure attachment most
times consistently engage the child when cued, and provide predictable, supportive emotional and
physical reactions that the child has learned to rely on. Conversely, in avoidant attachment
caregivers have demonstrated that they cannot be relied on to provide emotional support in
response to the child s needs. The caregivers have either reacted to the child s distress in a cold
manner or ignored them completely. Children who are insecurely ambivalent attached often have
caregivers that are inconsistent in their response to the child s distress. The child exhibits
escalating behavior such as cries turning into shrieks and screaming. They appear to want contact
with the caregiver through cues, but will resist contact when attempted by the caregiver.
Disorganized attachment is a result of a caregiver who is inappropriate in their response to their
child, responding sexually, physically or verbally abusive. The children may present with odd
behavior and act out. (Arxcis, 2017). 10 year old Raymond Giovanni is the youngest of three
children. He lives in a two parent household with his mother, a stay at home parent, and his father, a
detective. Ray presents as having a disorganized attachment type with both of his parents. Raymond

Bacillus Anthracis:
1.Introduction
a)Bacillus anthracis is a gram positive, rod shaped, aerobic bacterium, that presents its self in long
chains (Todar). It is 1 Г— 2 Ојm in size and contains no flagella or pilli (Spencer). Although, B.
anthracis is non motile, it does undergo the process of sporulation (Spencer). These spores are
typically oval shaped and found in soil (Todar). In virulent strains of B. anthracis, a slime layer or
capsule forms to protect the bacterium from dangers in the environment, such as antibiotics

Analysis Of Lamb To The Slaughter By Mary Maloney
Insanely Innocent
Everyone does something at some point in their life that can be considered insane. Sometimes it s
simple things like trying a new food or a new hobby However, other times it can bit more extreme
such as stepping outside of the status quo or just simple committing a crime altogether. The story,
Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl depicts the life of Mary Maloney and the event of her killing
her husband. However, Mary Maloney is innocent due to reason of Insanity because she portrays
symptoms of a person with schizophrenia, the forced conformity of gender roles, and her over
attachment or jealousy for her husband.
Most of Roald Dahl s characters have a tendency to have an underlying trait to them. In this case,

Roald Dahl also plays with the gender role aspect of the 1950 s. The 1950 s were really focused
around the white picket fence perfect family. There was expected to be a mom and a dad with at
least one kid. The mom would stay home to cook and clean while the husband went off to work .
Once the husband returned home, they would sit down as one family and eat the meal the
woman prepared. Divorce was not a common thing and was a very unacceptable thing at this
time. In fact, the article 1950 s family life Michael Rich says, Divorce was not a common thing.
Why? Societal pressure for one thing. You were supposed to get married and stay married,
regardless of how miserable you were. Divorce carried a stigma... in the Fifties, a woman s best
chance at employment was in traditionally accepted women s jobs such as secretary, teacher,
nurse, librarian and so forth. So there was an economic incentive to stay married. However in
the story, Mr. Maloney completely goes against the social custom of not divorcing. On page 382
of Lamb to the Slaughter it says, And I know it s kind of a bad time to be telling you, but there
simply wasn t any other way. Of course I ll give you money and see you re

Discourse communities are everywhere. Everywhere we and go and almost everything we do

The gym was so confusing. Everyone had an odd lingo that I had never had any experience with.
They used certain words that I had never heard before. They dressed in revealing clothes. I was
unable to figure out the distinction between sets and reps, which it turned out that those two
words are the most utilized terms in weightlifting. I always heard words like lat, core, one rep
max, spot, lower, etc. It was comparable to learning a new language for me. But with time and
learning, I came to understand what was being said or asked in the gym environment. Seeing my
father go everyday and him being an authority figure, definitely inspired my love for weightlifting.
To this day I love the discourse community of weightlifting and consider myself an avid member
who plans to be a member until my body ceases to cooperate.
In weightlifting, there are certain ways to communicate and talk about lifting or what is being
done. Every exercise has a name that is commonly known among the discourse community, such as
dumbbell side raises, decline bench press, front lat pulldown, and those are just a few examples.
There are hundreds of terms for naming exercises. The most commonly used terms in weightlifting

The Current Challenges With Curriculum Of South Africa
Introduction
In this essay I will state the current challenges with curriculum of South Africa, and what impact it
has on me as a student teacher and my future as a teacher of South Africa. I will state implications
of integrating the curriculum in the class and what it means to transfer the curriculum to the
learners in my class.
My essay will be based upon a critical rationalism philosophical perspective. And based upon my
own world view.
According to (Smith, 2015) critical rationalism also known as scientific rationalism is being
referred to as a philosophy that encourages open mindedness, which means that critical rationalism
is anti dogmatic and anti authoritarian. Its states according to (Smith, 2015) that critical rationalism
is completely against societies where people cannot speak their minds freely and discuss things
openly.
I will also discuss my own opinion on critical rationalism and what it means to me.

An Exploration of Clarissa s gift through different points of view in Virginia Woolf s Mrs. Dalloway
Multiple points of view are represented and shifted through various characters in Virginia Woolfs
Mrs. Dalloway through indirect discourse, which helps to describe the innermost thoughts of Woolf
s central characters using singular pronouns in the third person. It is these multiple points of view
that establish interconnectedness among the characters, mirroring the interconnectedness that
comes with Clarissa s gift: her parties; it is these parties in which she brings people together and

very same motorcar, which is precisely when the point of view switches to Septimus , whereby his
consciousness is shrouded in trauma and shell shock a definite dichotomy between the opposing
worlds of himself and Clarissa s. Despite coming from seemingly opposing worlds, the subtle
transition establishes the interconnectedness between the two characters almost as if though they
are one person or entity.
A second significant transition occurs when Peter Walsh, a former love of Clarissa s, pays an
unexpected visit to Clarissa the same morning. Here we get a sense of their feelings and thoughts
towards each other, and learn that the togetherness they once had, has been lost:
He s very well dressed, thought Clarissa; yet he always criticises me...Here she is mending her
dress; mending her dress as usual, he thought; here she s been sitting all the time I ve been in
India; mending her dress; playing about; going to parties; running to the House and back and all
that, he thought, growing more and more irritated, more and more agitated. (41) The shift in point
of view from Clarissa s to Peter s emphasizes how separate and disconnected their lives have
become, which perfectly contrasts with the way in which both the characters inner thoughts are
smoothly intertwined. Clarissa is usually

The Options For Shed Ventilation
The 5 Options for Shed Ventilation in your Shed and the Pros and Cons of Each
Ventilating your shed is important no matter what the time of year. No matter how hard you try to
ignore this simple fact, the reality is that your shed is too hot in the summer and too cold in the
winter. Not sure if this is true, then think about all the times you refused to work in it because of
these exact reasons. Along with temperature, a non ventilated shed leads to a buildup of mildew
and chemical fumes that go a long way towards making you sick. Proper ventilation is the best way
to avoid these problems and many more.
The Problems Associated with Lack of Ventilation

The Stuff in Your Shed: Unless you are a bit odd, you probably use your shed not only as a
workspace but also for storage. Excess heat, cold, and moisture can have a seriously adverse effect
on everything in your shed, ruining much of it. This, of course, will result in your having to spend
a fortune replacing everything that has been damaged.
Your Options for Ventilation
There are a number of different options when it comes to the proper ventilation for your shed.
Most of which can be at least somewhat effective, while others work amazingly well. There are, as
you might expect, several issues you need to take into consideration when trying to decide which
type of ventilation is right for your shed.
It s All about Size
Perhaps one of the most important things you need to think about when trying to decide which
of the different types of shed ventilation is right for you is the size of your shed. For example, a
small solar powered vent might work for a small shed, but would be all but useless in a larger
shed. By the same token, a turbine ventilator is an excellent choice for a large shed but would
provide far too much airflow for a tiny shed.
Is This the Right Choice?
Finding the right type of shed ventilation involves looking at the size of the shed, the materials it is
made from, and what you plan to use it for. At the same time, you need to consider the average high
and low temperatures where

The aim of this paper is to make the proposition and methodological defense to evaluate program

Based to implementing the Ernie Reyes West Coast World Martial Arts Association s program; the
program implementer must commence by learning about the martial arts school program; its
mission statement, goals, and objectives must be understood. These elements are capital when
interested to implementing an organizational program. 1 Many methods can be utilized to

This methodology helps design the studies scientifically. In quantitative research methodology, data
can be collected without the participants, Rudestam Newton (2007) noted that Quantitative research
seeks objectivity by standardizing the procedures and measures as much as possible data and by
distancing the researcher from the participants. When proceeding for the implementation of the
martial arts school, the implementer can also applicate the qualitative research method to gather
data. This method requires a series of interviews, observations, and open ended questionnaires.
Effectively, qualitative research method in program evaluation allows rapid surveys, direct and
indirect interactions with participants, and feedbacks from stakeholders and clients are necessary.
Questionnaires or likers reports are also necessary, since feedback from clients, employees,
stakeholders, and others individual willing to learn about the program that is being implemented
within the organization would bring a plus in terms of modifying, implementing, or discontinuing
the program. Utilizing both quantitative and qualitative method to develop the martial arts school
program is a good bet since both method would work. The optimization of the quantitative method
may promote slow data collection procedure; this process involves standardized assessment,

The Genocide Of The Cambodian Genocide
Don t Smile, Don t Laugh, Don t Shed a Tear According to Merriam Webster Dictionary,
genocide is defined as the deliberate killing of people who belong to a particular racial, political
or cultural group. When most people think of the word genocide, often the Holocaust comes to
mind. What the world seems to fail to realize is that many genocides, just as tragic have and
continue to occur. The Cambodian Genocide is an important event to understand and research
because it is one of the lesser known genocides and can be analyzed for future genocide prevention.
Background
Cambodia is a small country of Southeast Asia, less than half the size of the state of California (
World Without Genocide: Cambodian Genocide ). The Cambodian government in the mid 1970 s
was unstable as Lon Nol, the Cambodian prime minister, and his forces were being stretched
dealing with conflicts of Vietnamese communists, and a rising group of Cambodian communists
called the Khmer Rouge Party. (Peace Pledge Union) As the government grew weaker and began
to loose control, The Khmer Rouge Party overthrew the country. They began killing for their cause
in 1975. The Khmer Rouge Party, under the rule of a man called Pol Pot, enforced a new way of
life following values and rules similar to Maoist Communism ( World Without Genocide:

When I was eight I fractured my skull and got a severe concussion, and when I was fifteen, I was

lung, and another concussion. I almost died twice, and really should have died twice, but both
times first responders arrived on the scene very quickly to save my life. I am grateful for the
experienced professionals that had the skills and knowledge they needed in order to save me, and
to pay it back, I decided I wanted to become a Paramedic. However, when I was researching how
to become a paramedic and other information about their job, I came across the sad fact that
EMT s only make, on average, 31,000 dollars a year. I am sure it is hard to live a comfortable life
and provide for a family on a salary of less than fifteen dollars per hour, and the fact that they
make this little of an amount of money is unacceptable. EMT paramedics need to make way
more money than they do, because their job is dangerous, it requires a lot of skills and
knowledge, and they save multiple lives each and every day. First, because the job of a paramedic
is dangerous, physically demanding, and stressful, they should be compensated with substantially
more money. By helping other people who are in jeopardy, first responders put their lives on the
line all the time by, more often than not, going to risky places and dealing with unstable people. An

In 1962, Lennon wrote Please Please Me by his infatuation with Bing Crosby s famous pun,
Please, lend your little ears to me please, (www.lifetimetv.co.uk). Based on the textbook s
definition of Gardner s theory of multiple intelligences, Lennon most likely had linguistic
intelligence. As it states in the textbook, linguistic intelligence refers to skills such as language,
speaking, reading a book, [or] writing a story, and these skills may have harvested Lennon s

teach someone else. This term is still used within the African Americancultureand is a great way to
emphasize the value in community cultural wealth. Moreover, this will allow individuals to
enhance their knowledge, understanding, and value of lived experience within the cultures of
People of Color so that Each One CAN Teach One!
There are ten exercises that individuals can do that will educate them with on the value of other
cultures and have a better understanding of their role in racial microaggression situations: (1) learn
about your unconscious bias, (2) lean about microaggressions, (3) read texts written by People of
Color, (4) take ownership when you have made a mistake, (5) work continuously on cultural
proficiency, (6) obtain literature through ethnic agencies on racial/cultural information, (7) attend
conferences, workshops ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first, is learning about your unconscious bias. This requires that the individual is honest with
themselves, which means they are willing to acknowledge their bias and work towards
addressing these areas of concern. One method to uncover these bias is by taking the Implicit
Association Test (IAT) offered online by Harvard University to measure the attitudes and beliefs
that people unwilling or unable to report (Project Implicit Harvard University, 2011). The next
exercise is learning about microaggressions. This can be accomplished by utilizing the references
in this essay, such as McCoy Rodricks (2015), Sue (2007) and Yosso (2005) to gain further
knowledge about the

Byzantium and Sassanid Empire
In the early start of the post classical era two empires existed that were among the first wave of post
classical empires. They were the Byzantine Empire and the Persian Sassanid Empire. They
Byzantine Empire was known to be a continuation of the Roman Empire that lasted for one
thousand years. Although this sounds like an achievement the one thousand year Byzantine Empire
was not as great as it is expected to be. The Sassanid Empirethat lied just east of the Byzantine
Empire, or in present day Iran was also a continuation of previous Persian Empires. During the post
classical era in Eurasia the Byzantine s and the Sassanid s were two empires that shared similarities
and differences in their political institutions, social structures, dependence on trade and their
economy, and in their declination during the seventh century Common Era. The Byzantines were a
post classical representation of the Romans while the Sassanid s were a continued empire from late
Persian Dynasties, and both of these continuation empires were comparable in political structure,
social structure, and their declination. The political institution of Byzantium was similar to Political
institution since both were centralized states, however both were not completely the same since the
Byzantine s copied the Romans and the Persians copied the previous dynasties of Persia. The
Byzantine Empire and the Persian Empire did not differ too much in their social structure, both
mainly represented a model for

Compare And Contrast Araby And A P
In Araby by James Joyce and A P by John Updike the narrators who are also the main characters
both have interesting appearances with love. Araby s narrator is a boy who lives on a street that is
creepy and not many people live on it. A P s narrator is a boy named Sammy who works in a store
called the A P. Both of these character have a crush on a girl
who they see very often or only on a
one time occasion. These girls are older than the main characters and the main characters thinks
these girls are the most beautiful person they have ever seen. They try to impress these girls by
doing things they eventually regret. These stories have similar love and relationship ideas about the
narrators and their crushes, including the way they talk about their love for the girls, the way they
try to win them, and how they fail to get their attention. They way they talk about their love is
similar because they both describe her as the most beautiful thing that has ever lived. In Araby the
narratorsays Her dress swung as she moved her body, and the soft rope of her hair tossed from side
to side (Joyce 1). This shows how he thinks she looks like an angel. Another example... Show more

They regret what they did in that day. In A P , Sammy s parents will not be that happy when he
gets home and when the narrator from Araby gets home he will not be happy either. This is
shown when he says Gazing up in the darkness I saw myself as a creature driven and derided
from vanity; and my eyes burned with anguish and anger (Araby 5). This describes how he is mad
and confused on what happened that day. He is also confused on his relationship with Mangan s
sister. Sammy felt like he had a relationship with the girls when he had no relationship at all. Both
of these characters felt like they had a relationship going until they tried to be there unsuspected
hero which did not work out for either

Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time Essay by...
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time Essay Mr. Boone is not completely evil
because he has good intentions behind many of his misdeeds. He only wants what is best for
Christopher. Mr. Boone accepts Christopher s special needs and wants him to succeed in life. He
helps Christopher a lot more than anyone else, even Judy Boone; Christopher s mother doesn t
help Christopher as much. Although Ed Boone s immoral actions were evil, the good intentions,
helpfulness, and patience that he displays toward his son, Christopher proves that Mr. Boone is
the evil figure with an ultimately good heart. Ed shows a lot of helpfulness to everyone and
especially Christopher. This is what lets Ed be so good with Christopher, patience lets Ed be... Show

Ed stood up for Christopher when someone under estimated him and this let Christopher succeed
on to becoming what he wants to be. Ed Boone has good intentions toward Christopher and only
wishes the best for him, even though his actions and decisions are not always the best. He hid the
letters, that Christopher s mother sent Christopher. He also lied to Christopher about his mother,
telling Christopher that she died of a heart attack. Even though the things Ed did look evil and bad
hearted, he did it out of love. Just like he killed Wellington, Mrs. Shears dog, because he loved her
and she rejected him, and Ed got out of control. Ed lied and hid the letters from Christopher
because Christopher, being a person with special needs, did not feel sad and take the divorce and
separation of his parents too deeply and harshly. Ed also did this so Christopher would not leave
him, because Ed loves him a lot. After Ed found out that Christopher read the letters, he apologized
and said, I m sorry, Christopher, I m so, so sorry [Page 114]. Ed even said and told Christopher it
was for his safety and for good, that it was all for a good cause. Ed said,
I did it for your good, Christopher. Honestly I did. I never meant to lie. I just thought... I just
thought it was better if you didn t know... that... that... I didn t mean to... I was going to show them
to you when you were older [Page 114].
Ed was rash and unfair, but with a good heart, which is clearly

The Importance of Discipline
The Importance of Discipline
By: Alexis Wagner
June 14, 2013
The dictionary definition for discipline is a branch of learning, training that develops self control.
Discipline to me is a form of work that takes time; but, in the end works for your good. A person
can be someone disciplined or taught a new way of doing something they can t or don t want to do,
or be self disciplined, already possessing an inner strength of mind and determination to do these
things own their own. (Control is a key factor in self discipline.) Mastering the ability to make
yourself do something over and over again until you get it right is self discipline. Without discipline
no one would push themselves or be pushed by others into achieving things ... Show more content

Obedience is being willing to do a command , being able to follow instructions, being able to do
things as they were told (meaning correctly), and being able to do this when they were told.
Obedience shows a common feature that we see with discipline.
If you can sing very well but your singing coach wants you to sing it an octave higher, that is an
example of where discipline is needed. You needto first accept the fact that the coach is trying to
help you and improve your singing abilities. You have to get out of your comfort zone and work
towards hitting that note and achieving that goal. Instead of you looking at the task as a form of
punishment, you should look at it as reaching a higher ground, or going to the next level in your
singing career. All of these things you must do to accomplish that one task, and not only will it
require dedication, it will require discipline, not only for others but for you.
Discipline in schools may reduce the violence and vandalism and help students to focus better on
their studies and future careers. Discipline is important in the households most of all. Parents must
raise their children in a pleasant and disciplined atmosphere. They should teach them the right
values. They should themselves lead an orderly life so that their children can learn from their
examples. Talking less in class, raising your hand, asking questions, talking softer, and speaking up
are all things people

Essay on Sophocles
The Power of Choice
Choices affect all of our lives. We are always faced with choices. What we do with those choices
will determine how are lives will turn out, what destiny lies before us and even what will become
of us. The choices we make are in our complete control. Whether we make choices during the heat
of the moment or with an open mind there are going to be consequences that follow whether good
or bad are can only be blamed on us. Sophocles s Antigone portrays human emotions and
consequences that follow two distinct choices. We can broaden the spectrum by saying that Creon
represents public policy and Antigone represents individual conscience. According to E.S.
Shuckburgh we must examine which is more important state law or ... Show more content on

We all know what s right and wrong but we don t always have the courage to do what our heart
tells us. All the convincing in the world could not change Antigone s mind. She has a strong
passion for giving her brother a respectful burial. Antigone stands up for her family but also her
beliefs. Antigone is not concerned with the edict because, [she] did [not] think [his] edict had such
force/ that [he], a mere mortal, could override the gods, /the great unwritten, unshakable tradition. ;
(Sophocles 503 505) This is the moment when Antigone chooses her personal conscience over state
law.
That goes true for our society today isn t there a little part of everyone that would like to be
known for something they accomplished or something that they did? We can look at Antigone s
role in a broader perspective and say that she stands for our individual conscience. Aren t we
taught to stand up for what we believe in? To stand up for what we feel is right? Why would you
want to let a member of your family rot out in the open? Or to put it into better perspective if
your mom is dying of AIDS and the only painkiller is marijuana would you or wouldn t you buy
the illegal substance for them? I know that I would try to do anything in my power to buy my
mother what she needed to relieve her from pain. People

  • 2. Gender Equality And Gender Differences Of The Play Top... The plays Top Girls and A Streetcar Named Desire are written in ways that explore the issues surrounding gender equality and gender differences. Churchill explores the ideas of a feminist utopia where the men and women live in separate spheres which are prescribed to suit the stereotypical roles of the genders. For example at this time power dressing was a real strategy used by the new breed of feminists struggling for identity in society. We learn about the relationship between women and working. However, Williams s characters in A StreetCar Named Desire crucially succumb to the prescribed genderroles where the women are expected to be meekly obedient in a patriarchal society ruled by the opposite sex. Top Girls is set in the early 1980 s, and mainly plays with two main concerns travelling around the 1980 s feminism and socialism. We unravel a great number of ideas within the novel that mirror the characters rejection of their gender roles. The theme in Top Girls is mostly addressing the ideologies around feminism at a significant time. This is portrayed in a direct manner and tone which veer from bizarre and dreamlike to mundane and give us an insight of the contemporary events going on outside of the play. The time this play was written holds high importance as it was the time of power dressing and was a real up lift for women struggling for identity in modern society. Churchill portrays the central protagonist Marlene as representing the rise of women s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. RISD Personal Statement I currently attend the Rhode Island School of Design, a prestigious art and design institution, majoring in Graphic Design. Having attended RISD for the past two years, I have experienced what is valuable and matured to find out what I want for myself. Simply, I want to pursue a computation/computer science related field upholding values of strong design application. Looking at alumni in relation to my skills and interests, I have assurance that I will do fine, but I don t want to do just fine. As an artist and designer of the 21st century, it is important for me to know and connect the values of technology with design to enhance communication in relation to the current age. Although RISD is a great institution, it does not offer the specific resources that I want to pursue; I am interested in an environment that can cultivate my passion in other applications whereas RISD is rooted in a more departmental tradition. I believe that in order to have a more complex understanding of one subject, investigating other subjects through a design mindset, would allow me to seek a more passionate advance towards design. Rather than existing in a bubble where art and design were merely conventions to live by, a more integrative approach to design, to see computational knowledge incorporated into the fundamentals of design, and vice versa, is something that I want to contribute to the developing world. Design does not live within an art school but it exists within its application. Thus, I want to transfer to an institution that can offer an intersection of design and computation.... • 4. The Success of Franklin D. Roosevelt s New Deal Franklin D. Roosevelt s New Deal package of legislation set a new precedent for United States involvement in cultural development. The New Deal was characterized by liberal use of government resources to provide relief, recovery, and reform to a nation that had been reeling from the aftermath of the Great Depression. While the immediate success of Roosevelt s New Dealin mitigating the effects of the Great Depression is debatable, it s long lasting impact on American government is still felt today. One of the earliest major programs of the New Deal was the Glass Steagall Banking Reform Act, which created the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or FDIC. The FDIC initially insured bank deposits up to $5,000 and was integral in restoring Americans confidence in U.S. banks. As a result, people slowly resumed depositing their money in banks, which in turn helped banks get back to business. Another early New Deal program was the Unemployment Relief Act, which created the Civilian Conservation Corps(CCC). Throughout the program s history, the CCC put approximately three million unemployed young men to work on conservation projects around the country. These projects consisted of building bridges, constructing dams for flood control and generating energy, and planting 200 million trees to act as wind barriers in areas afflicted by the Dust Bowl. While these two early New Deal programs offered relief from banking concerns and rising unemployment, Roosevelt s administration was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Who Is Meursault s Irony In Albert Camus The Outsider Albert Camus novel The Stranger follows the life of M. Meursault, a sales clerk in 1940 s Algiers, from the death of his mother to his execution. Meursault, throughout the novel, embodies Camus s absurdist philosophies: he disregards emotion, speaks his mind, and seems apathetic about his life. Meursault s apathy is unusual, and thus, according to the incongruity theory of humor, is funny for most readers. As the theory states, however, Meursault s apathy is only funny to the reader that does not expect it, and thus the humor in the book only applies to a sect of the readers. Yet the themes of rejection and hopelessness in the book appeal to all readers and diminish the humor in the novel. Camus essay The Myth of Sisyphus furthers the idea... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While waiting for his trial, a chaplain shoves a cross in Meursault s face and asks Do you know what this is? (68) Meursault asserts his atheism and thus rejects religion. The humor in this scene stems both from Meursault s character and the chaplain s conviction to convert Meursault. First, Meursault is easily distracted and his comments are unexpected, and, following the incongruity theory, are funny. While the chaplain is yelling at Meursault, Meursault says [it was] hard to follow [the chaplain s] reasoning because it was hot and big flies kept landing on my face. (68) Second, the chaplain is determined to reveal Meursault s [belief] in God ; thus, Meursault s continual rejection of the God, according to the relief theory, is funny (69). The crucifix, in the scene, symbolizes more than christianity: it represents the afterlife and the search for a higher being, values that are deeply ingrained in society. Thus, Meursault s rejection of the crucifix, which aligns well with Camus absurdism, serves as a shunning of hope for a better life in the moment and an afterlife. In his essay, The Myth of Sisyphus, Camus exemplifies his point from The Stranger by saying that the whole being is exerted toward accomplishing nothing. (1) The hopelessness and meaningless nature that both The Myth of Sisyphus and The Stranger identify cannot, and does not, make for comic or even humorous material; the big philosophical questions ... It was mid October sothe mornings had a bite to them and the days were cool. We woke up at 6:00 in the morning so we could get our rabbits, which we were bringing to the auction to sell, settled in their cages. We had filled each cage with hay the night before so they would be warm for the ride there and for the time they d be stuck sitting in their cages. After we loaded them up, we headed to the auction. Once we arrived at the auction, we brought the bunnies over to the people who tagged their cages and brought them out to the barn to be stacked up next to other cages. The other cages were filled with exotic birds and some other rabbits. In some of the pens inside the auction barn, they had pigs, goats, sheep, and emus. The outside pens had a variety of cow breeds like the shaggy highlanders and brahmas. There were also horses, ponies, alpacas, buffalo, and llamas. We alway arrive early, so people are still coming in with animals they would be auctioning off that day. My Mom and I went into the auction barn to see if they had anything interesting out there that we might like to acquire. As we walked through the barn, we saw some golden pheasants and some peacocks, so my mom wrote their tag numbers down on her mini notebook that she brought along with her. Understanding just how temptation, culture and relationships can be interpreted as magic reveals how these authors use their genre to inform the population of the failing human condition. When the term magic is brought up in any kind of media, the immediate thought of most people is fairy dust, unicorns, or J.K. Rowling s Harry Potter series; although the magic in Magical Realism is truly none of that at all. The magic in Magical Realism comes from the characters in the novels, through their thoughts and actions they create the magic that exists in these novels. In these themes the magic reveals itself, they appear as unstoppable forces in human nature that cannot be derived to an elementary force, and thus appears magical. Temptation for instance, appears in A Hundred Years of Solitude and Invisible Cities to lure men to unspeakable fates that impact the rest of their lives and the lives of the people around them. Although the essence of temptation is an unexplainable force that exists blatantly to lead humanity away from morality, the same force exists within the other two reoccurring themes that are seen in Magical Realism. Women are objectified to a certain extent yet also essential to the inner workings of society. This can also be observed in the context of this passage due to the fact that the queenmade the accusations against Lanval and though they were lies the extensive reach of her authority is notable. Also consider the line 607 The king who was well bred rose and went to meet her (166). The use of the verbs honor and offer are direct effects of the way they see her which continues to implicate the importance of her beauty while also putting her in a dominant role. This is emphasized once again in lines 611 612 When they had looked at her well, when they greatly praised her beauty (166). One day Mildred, the wife of the main character, Montag, was in the house with nothing but TV s everywhere. Then from the novel, Montag said, How long you figure we save up and get a fourth TV put in? . This quote explains one way control was implemented through televisionbecause this shows how nowadays most of people s main concern is the TV. This quote explains how Beatty s plan didn t work out, because if Beatty s plan had ve worked, Montag wouldn t be able to leave the town. Montag also has a dramatic effect on Beatty, which left him to kill himself, and later the city explodes. In the novel, 1984, the effectiveness of the plan failed and became a dystopian for the main character, Winston. Towards the end of the story, Winston shows how Big Brother had finally gotten to him by telling the love of his life, Julia, Under the spreading chestnut tree,I sold you and you sold me . This quote represents how the effectiveness of the utopian society failed because it shows how Winston started off as a normal person, and by brainwashing him, they turned him into a totally different person. For the people of that society hope is very low, thanks to the team of people always watching making their lives miserable. Finally, in the movie The Giver, the effectiveness of their plan to control the people failed. Conversely, sales are only one bit of the entire marketing process. In order to comprehend the idea, it is crucial to understand the marketing mix. Prior to a business choosing to launch an item into the business sector there are variables and components that should be considered. Variables in marketingare considered part of the marketing mix that is set up before the advertising program begins which thus characterizes the four factors known as the four Ps . The variables in advertising will decide the components of the item and how the purchaser or client sees the item. The four Ps consist of product, price, promotion, and place. For instance, Victoria s Secret a very well known company covering a wide variety of products such as women sleepwear, swimsuits, clothing, underwear and cosmetics uses the marketing mix to their advantage. Their most recent inventive step that the company made was the presentation of a line called PINK. The line was launched with the point of growing the essential target market which included young women in their mid 20s. In the present day, the target market also involves women in their teens with the most recent PINK line. The World Health Organisation (WHO) defines Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) as any act between intimate relations which results into physical, emotional, sexual trauma or any other form of restriction or isolation from family and friends which can lead to undesirable health outcomes (Organization, 2012). Violence do exists between intimate partners with women becoming more victims than men (Hall, Chappell, Parnell, Seed, Bewley, 2014). In Victoria, it had accounted for 7.9% of overall disease burden among women of reproductive age (Vos et al., 2006). Attachment Theory is defined as the emotional and psychological bond between a child and their caregiver, which starts from birth and is believed to last a lifetime. (Arxcis, 2017). The first published works of attachment theory were done by John Bowlby, a child psychiatrist, in 1969, with Mary Ainsworth, a Canadian psychologist, later collaborating with Bowlby to include different attachment types. Bowlby s theory, which was influenced from Konrad Lorenz s idea of familial imprinting, stated that attachment bonds would begin to form up until nine months of age in an infant. From nine months, up until two to three years of age, attachment types would be observable (Arxcis, 2017). In the 1950 s, Ainsworth set out on an in depth study to... Whether they are sick, tired, hungry, or upset, caregivers of children with secure attachment most times consistently engage the child when cued, and provide predictable, supportive emotional and physical reactions that the child has learned to rely on. Conversely, in avoidant attachment caregivers have demonstrated that they cannot be relied on to provide emotional support in response to the child s needs. The caregivers have either reacted to the child s distress in a cold manner or ignored them completely. Children who are insecurely ambivalent attached often have caregivers that are inconsistent in their response to the child s distress. The child exhibits escalating behavior such as cries turning into shrieks and screaming. They appear to want contact with the caregiver through cues, but will resist contact when attempted by the caregiver. Disorganized attachment is a result of a caregiver who is inappropriate in their response to their child, responding sexually, physically or verbally abusive. The children may present with odd behavior and act out. (Arxcis, 2017). 10 year old Raymond Giovanni is the youngest of three children. They were the Byzantine Empire and the Persian Sassanid Empire. They Byzantine Empire was known to be a continuation of the Roman Empire that lasted for one thousand years. Although this sounds like an achievement the one thousand year Byzantine Empire was not as great as it is expected to be. The Sassanid Empirethat lied just east of the Byzantine Empire, or in present day Iran was also a continuation of previous Persian Empires. During the post classical era in Eurasia the Byzantine s and the Sassanid s were two empires that shared similarities and differences in their political institutions, social structures, dependence on trade and their economy, and in their declination during the seventh century Common Era. The Byzantines were a post classical representation of the Romans while the Sassanid s were a continued empire from late Persian Dynasties, and both of these continuation empires were comparable in political structure, social structure, and their declination. The political institution of Byzantium was similar to Political institution since both were centralized states, however both were not completely the same since the Byzantine s copied the Romans and the Persians copied the previous dynasties of Persia. The Byzantine Empire and the Persian Empire did not differ too much in their social structure, both mainly represented a model for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This describes how he is mad and confused on what happened that day. He is also confused on his relationship with Mangan s sister. Ed stood up for Christopher when someone under estimated him and this let Christopher succeed on to becoming what he wants to be. Ed Boone has good intentions toward Christopher and only wishes the best for him, even though his actions and decisions are not always the best. He hid the letters, that Christopher s mother sent Christopher. He also lied to Christopher about his mother, telling Christopher that she died of a heart attack. Even though the things Ed did look evil and bad hearted, he did it out of love. Just like he killed Wellington, Mrs. Shears dog, because he loved her and she rejected him, and Ed got out of control. Ed lied and hid the letters from Christopher because Christopher, being a person with special needs, did not feel sad and take the divorce and separation of his parents too deeply and harshly. Ed also did this so Christopher would not leave him, because Ed loves him a lot. After Ed found out that Christopher read the letters, he apologized and said, I m sorry, Christopher, I m so, so sorry [Page 114]. Ed even said and told Christopher it was for his safety and for good, that it was all for a good cause. Ed said, I did it for your good, Christopher. Honestly I did. I never meant to lie. I just thought... I just thought it was better if you didn t know... that... that... I didn t mean to... I was going to show them to you when you were older [Page 114]. • 44. The Importance of Discipline The Importance of Discipline By: Alexis Wagner June 14, 2013 The dictionary definition for discipline is a branch of learning, training that develops self control. Discipline to me is a form of work that takes time; but, in the end works for your good. A person can be someone disciplined or taught a new way of doing something they can t or don t want to do, or be self disciplined, already possessing an inner strength of mind and determination to do these things own their own. (Control is a key factor in self discipline.) Mastering the ability to make yourself do something over and over again until you get it right is self discipline. Without discipline no one would push themselves or be pushed by others into achieving things ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Obedience is being willing to do a command , being able to follow instructions, being able to do things as they were told (meaning correctly), and being able to do this when they were told. Obedience shows a common feature that we see with discipline. If you can sing very well but your singing coach wants you to sing it an octave higher, that is an example of where discipline is needed. You needto first accept the fact that the coach is trying to help you and improve your singing abilities. You have to get out of your comfort zone and work towards hitting that note and achieving that goal. Instead of you looking at the task as a form of punishment, you should look at it as reaching a higher ground, or going to the next level in your singing career. All of these things you must do to accomplish that one task, and not only will it require dedication, it will require discipline, not only for others but for you. Discipline in schools may reduce the violence and vandalism and help students to focus better on their studies and future careers. Discipline is important in the households most of all. Parents must raise their children in a pleasant and disciplined atmosphere. They should teach them the right values. They should themselves lead an orderly life so that their children can learn from their examples. Talking less in class, raising your hand, asking questions, talking softer, and speaking up are all things people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What we do with those choices will determine how are lives will turn out, what destiny lies before us and even what will become of us. The choices we make are in our complete control. Whether we make choices during the heat of the moment or with an open mind there are going to be consequences that follow whether good or bad are can only be blamed on us. Sophocles s Antigone portrays human emotions and consequences that follow two distinct choices. We can broaden the spectrum by saying that Creon represents public policy and Antigone represents individual conscience. According to E.S. Antigone is not concerned with the edict because, [she] did [not] think [his] edict had such force/ that [he], a mere mortal, could override the gods, /the great unwritten, unshakable tradition. ; (Sophocles 503 505) This is the moment when Antigone chooses her personal conscience over state law. That goes true for our society today isn t there a little part of everyone that would like to be known for something they accomplished or something that they did? We can look at Antigone s role in a broader perspective and say that she stands for our individual conscience. Aren t we taught to stand up for what we believe in? To stand up for what we feel is right? Why would you want to let a member of your family rot out in the open?
