Over the past few decades, the expression of a variety of life history, behavioural, and
physiological traits have been correlated with systematic environmental changes in
temperature, growing season length, and precipitation1,2. The assumed causal
pathway in most if not all studies is that environmental changes drive changes in
traits, and these changes lead to changes in fitness3. This causal model has rarely
been explicitly tested and the quantitative genetic consequences of such changes in
fitness are mostly unknown. Here, we close that gap by combining both a path
analysis and a quantitative genetic approach on 37 years of data on a wild
population of adult female yellow bellied marmots. We demonstrate that changes in
body mass were driven by the changes in spring temperature, but contrary to any
expectations the increase in fitness was not caused by changes in temperature or body
mass. Changes in body mass are thus not directly responsible for the observed change
in population dynamic. In addition, we found a constant positive selection at the
phenotypic level on body mass, a constant heritability of fitness, and a varying (but
not trending) heritability of body mass. Our results clearly indicate that the changes
in body mass are not due to an evolutionary response, and that evolutionary dynamics
have not been modified because the fitness body mass relation has remained constant.

Musical Critique On November 9th, I attended the fall semester concert of William
Penn University Department of Fine at the MTC. The WPU singers were directed
by Anita Meinert and the WPU Jazz Ensemble was directed by Scott Cressley. I was
mislead by the online website, it had the wrong time posted. Consequently, I arrived
about a half hour into the concert. Of course I didn t know this at the time. I simply
thought everyone had gotten there early so they started a bit before the time the
website had posted. I was soon told by another classmate that I was in fact very late.
But, what I did hear of the concert surprised me. The songs performed by the Jazz

As stated before I was blown away to see the talent here, I had no idea. However, I
am not sure if it was the room or the speakers, but everything seemed a little too

t understand why more people from my generation don t go out and experience these

I am truly proud of my background and how it has formed my identity. My
background consists of me being Portuguese. I could not be any more thankful for

A defined benefit plan specifies the amount of pension benefits to be paid out to plan
recipients in the future. Companies that use this plan must make sufficient
contributions to the funding agency in order to meet benefit requirements... Show

should be prepared on the accrual basis and retained three fundamental aspects of past
pension accounting: 1. delaying recognition of certain events, 2. Reporting net cost,
