Nuclear waste is the substance that nuclear fuel becomes after it has been used in a reactor.
Although the metal rods appear unchanged after their use, the material inside has changed
greatly. Before it was used to produce power, the fuel mainly consisted of uranium. In order to
create heat energy in the reactor, U235 undergoes fission. Fission is a nuclear reaction in which
the nucleus of an atom splits into smaller parts. As a result of this, there is a chain reaction
which creates heat. The control rods control the fission rate and the temperature. In the steam
generator, the heat and cooling water create pressured steam which moves the turbine. The
turbine creates energy that goes into a generator which gives off electricity. The water from the
turbine is able to become usable since it gets cooled. Once a reactor reaches its lifetime, it
becomes spent fuel and is treated as waste. Most countries bury the spent fuel or reuse it. In the
U.S., we haven t decided what to do with the spent fuel so most of the spent fuel rods are stored
in temporary storage pools. In the future, the United States plans to bury the waste in the Yucca

My Forest
As I was tramping through the my forest in the midst of fall I wandered away from my normal
route into thicker undergrowth. Suddenly I stumbled right into a clearing of lush moss with a
towering old oak right in the middle and a small crevice running around it, and marvelous view of
the sunrise. The place I had, by chance, wandered into was simply beautiful. So for this I named it
Great Tree, the greatest place in my forest. My forest is a small three acre plot of beautiful
woodland with a variety of tree species and a few secrets tucked away.
The outer edge of almost any forest is quite thick and hard to break through so entrances are
necessary, and my forest has three of them, one at the top one at the middle and another one
right at the bottom. The top one is newest with some of the small trees still in a pile off to the
side. The trail leading from the entrances curves a good amount because of a pile of large rocks
and a long dead cedar tree. The trail quickly disappears because that area is rarely traveled and
forgotten. The second trail is the most used one starting by an old weathered and scratched
wooden swing. Then a few feet along a muddy walkway to a huge pointed flat stone with a
portion of the tip broken. The last entrance is very old it is covered by a thin wall of tall
undergrowth and hanging thrones yet when you slip through it there is a wide and flat trail leading
to the Christmas Tree Grove,home of the spruce trees .

Cognitive dissonance is the sense of mental disorganization or imbalance that may prompt a person
to change when new information conflicts with previously organized thought patterns. The text

I have experienced cognitive dissonance when preparing for an exam. For instance, I will not
study or not study as well as I should for a test. Then when I receive my test back or my score is
posted, I realize that I really should have studied a lot harder. Then for the next exam I would try
to study earlier and harder so I could retain the information so I would perform well on the test.
Going into the class I know that I have a test, but I still do not study for it. I know that by not
studying it will hurt my grade, but I do it anyways, then once I see my grade I realize that I cannot
do that again. Otherwise, my grade would plummet and my GPA could be affected as well.
Another example is when you try to get through a class just by memorizing the information, and
not being able to retain any of it. I have gone through several classes where I just hurry and

before she died. For the first control test, we used vegetable oil to test for lipids. So, if the
solution does not contain lipids, it does not become translucent when placed onto a paper bag
square and held up to a light. So, it is a negative result. However, in the presence of lipids, the

make her the ideal housewife can be interpreted as a form of domestic abuse. Not only does he
withhold necessities such as food, he places her in isolation, and even plays mind games with her to
such an extent that she is fearful of defying him creating a relationship of dependence. In Othello
too, there are two different types of abusive relationships that have the same outcome a husband
feels so betrayed by his wife that he subjects her to a barrage of verbal abuse, ultimately seeing no
