Life Cycles of Products Essay
Life Cycles of Products The definition of a product is anything that is capable of satisfying
customer needs , this includes both physical products, like cars, cell phones, machines, as well as
services like banking, and insurance. Businesses manage and modify their products over time so
that they constantly meet the changing demands of their customers, the methods used to manage a
number of brands and product lines is known as Portfolio Managing. The different stages through
which these individual products develop in time in terms of the sales they generate is known as
Product Life Cycle. A product life cycle... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this point, the sales generated are usually low and the profits are typically low or none at all.
Due to the fact that the company is paying a lot for advertising and brand building, the customer
pays a high price for the product. This stage is also characterized by high distribution costs. At
this point of time the product offered is still in its most basic form. A good example of a product
in this stage currently is the new DVD Writer for computers, which enables users to store up to
five times more information as compared to a compact disc. Currently, they are extremely
expensive, the speeds at which they can be written at are relatively slow compared to the
traditional compact disc. There is also a heavy advertising campaign by manufacturers in all
computer stores. The second stage is known as the Growth Stage. This stage is mainly
characterized, for successful products, by a tremendous increase in sales. New customers are
added while existing customers are making repeated purchases. By now however, competitors have
introduced similar products, with a large number of sales and competitors the price is lowered to
make the product more attractive for potential buyers. This is one of the tools of a system that is
used in this stage known as Product Differentiation, where the marketing strategy is implemented
that seeks to create a difference in

Contrasting the Gods in Homer’s Odyssey and the Biblical...
Contrasting the Gods in Homer s Odyssey and the Biblical Book of Exodus
Many authors have employed the religious beliefs of their cultures in literature. The deities
contained in Homer s Odyssey and in the Biblical book of Exodus reflect the nature of the gods in
their respective societies. Upon examination of these two works, there are three major areas where
the gods of the Greek epic seem to directly contrast the nature of the God of the Israelites: the way
problems are solved, the prestige and status that separates the divine from the masses, and the extent
of power among the immortal beings.
Before any logical argument regarding the contrasting of two works can begin, a foundation must
be established that in some way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that the people do what is commanded is evidence of the recognition of Yahweh as their
divine God, and it is a testament to the authority they ascribe to Him. The existence and recognition
of the authority of these deities does not provide the only cornerstone for this argument. To discuss
the relationship between the divine and mankind, an observation and analysis of the interaction
between the two realms is imperative. In The Odyssey, many interactions between the gods and
men are seen. One of these scenes illustrates Athena s visit to Telmakhos, at the end of which she
put new spirit in him, a new dream of his father (1. 359 360) in order that Telemakhos might not
give up hope of Odysseus return. It is this type of interaction that gives insight into the relations
between the divine and humans, and that provides a framework on which to weave the examination
of those relations. An example of this type of interaction in Exodus is found in the form of a
burning bush: When, the Lord saw that he [Moses] had gone over to look [at the burning bush],
God called to him from within the bush, Moses! Moses! And Moses said, Here I am. Do not come
any closer, God said, Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground
(Exodus 3:4 5).
The interaction between Yahweh and Moses occurs many times throughout the book of Exodus, as
do other interactions between this God of the Hebrews and

The Crime Of A Juvenile Gang Essay
A juvenile gang is a group of youth that causes intimidation and commit criminal acts to gain
power to be in control. According to a study done by David Pyrooz, a professor at Sam Houston
State University in Huntsville Texas, more than one million juveniles in the United States of
America is in a gang. The study found 40% of juvenile gangs are non Hispanic white and the rest
is Black and Latino. The study also found, 30% of those gang members were females. Most
youth who joins gangs do so around ages 12 or 13, but the peak age for gang membership is 14
and 15years old. Although gang membership is portrayed as a lifelong commitment, the average
gang member joins at age 14 and only stays in for about two years. Only 40% of all gangs will
allow females to join, and there are approximately 32,000 female gang members. There are many
factors why juveniles join gangs, and some of them are because it increases self esteem, they
have access to drugs to either sell or use them, and it gives the males opportunities to meet up with
other young females and have sex. A negative factor is peer pressure. Some factors why females
join gangs are sexual abuse and victimization, family dysfunctions, emotional disorders, exposure to
violence, and negligence. Some youths parents aren t in the home, they have nobody forcing them
to go to school, and then they start failing which leads to drop outs. Many juvenile gang prevention
programs were created in the United States, to provide services to

Kobe Earthquake Research Paper
Introduction
On the 17th of January 1995, 5:46 am, the Great Hanshin earthquake, also known as the Kobe
earthquake, hit the city of Kobe. The earthquake had a 7.2 magnitude on the moment magnitude
scale.
Where was the earthquake?
The Kobe earthquake was located in Japan in the suburban city of Kobe, southwest of Tokyo. the
earthquake s epicentre was located 16 km below the surface on the island of Awaji, south of kobe.
The earthquake occurred in a very populated area which made the effects of the earthquake even
more disasterous.
What was the cause of the earthquake and how did it occur?
The earthquake was caused by the sudden collision of the eurasian and philippine tectonic plates.
The earthquake travelled up a faultline in the plate that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A large amount of the city was destroyed despite the earthquake proof designs of buildings and
infrastructure. Short cuts in the building process have been seen especially in the hanshin
expressway, where the vertical reinforcement of the piers holding up the road did not reach the
top of the piers, which is where they snapped and the expressway fell over. to stop this from
happening again, builders have to make sure that the vertical reinforcements reach the top of the
piers. another way of preventing damage is to place rubber blocks under structures such as
bridges to minimise the shock of the earthquake. another cause the of damage from the
earthquake was tall buildings collapsing on each other like dominoes. this can be prevented by
building tall buildings further apart to stop the domino effect. many residential houses in kobe
were traditional style houses with heavy roofs and and fragile wooden walls and supports. lots
of the people who died in the earthquake were crushed by their heavy roofs falling on them. to
prevent houses collapsing, houses need to be built with sturdier walls with lighter roofs. people
who weren t crushed by houses were burnt by the fire that was fueled by the wooden houses. to
prevent the effects of the fire, houses need to be built out of non flammable materials and be built

The United States V. Paramount Pictures (1948)
After World War II, the filmmaking industry experienced a dramatic change. The Paramount
decision and the development of the Hollywood Blacklist created a hostile environment and a
tumultuous time for the filmmaking industry. Although the effects would rattle the industry to its
core, it was instrumental in shaping the filmmaking business into what we know today. United
Statesv. Paramount Pictures (1948) was a landmark United States Supreme Court case that changed
the way filmmakers, producers and theaters would operate forever. It was seen as the proverbial
first nail in the coffin of the old Hollywood studio system. Under this system, film studios also
owner the theaters where their pictures were shown. Therefore, specific theater chains would only
show the films that were produced by the studio that owned them. Further, the studios that created
the film also had the directors, writers, actors, set designers, etc. under contract. To take it even
further, the studios also owned the development laboratories and distribution channels. Basically,
the studios were vertically integrated and created a de facto oligopoly. The federal government had
no choice but to step in. The studios unfair practices led to the suing... Show more content on

Hollywood to testify at hearings. Opening the hearings were appearances by Walt Disney and
Ronald Reagan, who at the time was the president of the Screen Actors Guild. They both testified
that the threat of Communists in the film industry was real and should be taken seriously. For an
example of how this affected successful careers, we could take a look at Adrian Scott. He was a
famed producer who produced four films for admitted communist Edward Dmytryk. Once Scott s
name was added to the blacklist in 1951, he was unable to be credited on screen until

Theme Of The Sniper
In the anti war short story The Sniper written by Liam O Flaherty, a Republican sniper embraces
his rifle and conceals on the roof top without a sound, waiting to kill his enemies. The sniper
accidentally gives away his location when he lights up a cigarette and exposes himself to the enemy
sniperon the opposite roof. The two snipers from two conflicting sides then faces each other off
through an innovative war; using both their shooting skills and intelligence. Subsequently, the
Republican sniper pulls out a brilliant plan and he successfully shoots out a deadly bullet to the
enemy sniper. After the line of life and death, the Republican sniper decides to identify the enemy
sniper s face; he slowly turns the dead body around and finds... Show more content on

In addition, when the Republican drops to the ground after his injury, he leans against a parapet,
which can also be explained as a protective barrier that the sniper uses to hide from all the cruelty
and brutal faces of war. All these images demonstrate isolation, desolation and the brutality formed
by the war and the images are formed by intention to show the readers the identifiable harmful
impacts that a war can carry.
The author not only uses the settings to intensify the evilness of war; but he also introduces
several scenes of situation irony into the story to further explain the downside effects of war.
For instance, when the Republican sniper riskily lights up a cigarette, the light will glow and
expose his location on the rooftop. The irony unpredictably occurs when an old lady spy points
at the sniper s location to his enemy. This is ironic because no one expects an old and weak lady
with trembling legs would secretly be a spy. This forces the Republican sniper to kill the lady
instantly because otherwise, he will be killed by his enemies. Another ironic situation takes place
when the Free stater soldier arrives at the O Connell bridge in an armoured truck; a tank like
transportation machine, and yet he is killed by the Republican sniper when he peeks out the car
window with half of his body outside. This is ironic because it is surprising that someone would be
that imprudent when knowing that there is a sniper watching his every

Children s Testimony Of Judicial Proceedings Throughout...
Abstract
This research paper investigates children s testimony in judicial proceedings throughout the past
few decades. An increase in child abuse allegations in the 1980s resulted in mass allegations
throughout the United States. As a result, a child is interviewed by law enforcement and social
workers regarding what happened during specific incidents. Tactics to acquire the testimonyof the
children has been up for debate by the judicial system and psychologists. These tactics include
suggestibility, repeated questions, or stereotyping that may alter the testimony of children to
accommodate interviewers biases, knowingly and unknowingly, resulting in false arrests and
imprisonments. Psychological research has initiated a growing concern ... Show more content on

Children s testimonies have serious implications for the accused and the question of whether or
not children are reliable sources of information have been brought to the attention of judges and
cognitive psychologists. The history of court proceedings allowing child witnesses to testify has
seen an increase in false accusations against teachers, friends, and family members, bringing to
question as to why or how a child may come up with false memories. Psychological research into
the subject has shed some light on some possibilities as to how some children may be susceptible
to manipulations. Research into children s memories has serious implications to society an
individual s involved in a specific case. Three outcomes are possible (a) the researchers may
discredit the children s testimony in real abuse cases and strengthens the defenses case against a
real perpetrator; (b) the child who has witnessed or experienced a crime testifies accurately and
truthfully, resulting in a perpetrator going to prison and not committing another crime; or (c) the
child has given false accusations as a result of faulty interview tactics by law enforcement or social
service workers that result in false charges and imprisonment. Cognitive psychologists take these
instances into consideration when creating studies regarding children s memories and relating them
to the judicial system (Ceci Bruyn, 1993). One may be wondering why interview tactics that allow

The Problem Of Unnecessary Blindness
There are specifically some important macro scale problems that should be addressed initially in
order to help Aravind move towards fulfilling the organizational goals. Specifically these issues
are looking at how the organization s operations will be expanded in the future including how
the organization needs to plan to grow so it can reach a broader number of the blind population,
and also if the organization is truly eradicating needless blindness in India as well as providing
the highest quality service it can to both its paying and non paying customers. It is clear that in
order to solve the problem of needless blindness in India the organization must make some move in
order to reach a wider population. There are several options that Aravind has when moving into the
future for how expansion will be facilitated. The first would be for it to continue with operations as
currently set up, but publicize its business model and encourage other organizations to copy it and
work alongside Aravind to eradicate needless blindness. While this is a viable and seemingly the
easiest option, this should not be the only approach that Aravind considers. Aravind has some
existing problems in its operations, management and marketing, and while it has achieved success
in the past, there are some significant existing components that will contribute to greater weakness
within Aravind s business model in the future. It is also uncertain if any other organizations will
actually choose to

The Hebrew Bible And The Bible Essay
The Hebrew Bible contains contradictory and inadequate information, which impacts my views
about what the Hebrew Bible, says and what the Bible means. It has multiple significances. It is
evident that various scriptures in the Hebrew Bible do not say what it means, nor does it mean
what it says. Ultimately, it s going to take some detective work in an effort to enhance
interpretation further. [pg. 6]. In addition, I feel that portions, and not all of the Hebrew Bible
should be re investigated, modified, re instated and re interpreted to include all God s people, of all
nationalities and religions in fairness and justice. Why? The Hebrew Bibleis interpreted by ancient
religious authorities that possessed racist values is why. As a result of these racist values, historical
records of the existence of African American people were eliminated from the Hebrew Bible.
Martin Noth, considered to be one of the most respectable Old TestamentScholars of all time, states
in his book The Old Testament World (Fortress, 1966) that the biblical writers knew nothing of any
Negro people (Dr. Dan Rodgers).
Besides the non existence there are myths, folktales, untruths, dysfunctional behaviors, back
stabbing, unbelievable violence, and stories that tend to make you say hum mm. For various odd
reasons, unfamiliar to me, my expectations of people and events of the Hebrew Bible are set
higher and totally different from what I had predicted. For example, I assumed

Human Suffering, By The Marxian Analysis Of Capitalism And...
Introduction In this essay, I will examine the concept of human suffering, namely inequality,
alienation, oppression and violence as presented in the Marxian analysis of capitalism and class
struggles. In examining these concepts I argue that the hierarchy of difference created by the binary
model of inferior and superior class positions naturalises this human suffering. In many ways,
human suffering is the negation of the other in order to determine oneself. In order to explore the
key concepts that effectuate to human suffering, I will first talk about the concepts of inequality,
alienation, oppression and violence in the context of case studies drawn from a Marxian analysis
against capitalism. After examining the terms, I will critique how power was concentrated in a top
down hierarchy within Marxist ideology.
Human Suffering The struggle to live against deterministic ideologies constitutes many forms of
human suffering. Human suffering could be largely due to the practice of negation of all others
who do not belong to a dominant or all powerful group. Human suffering can take many forms, but
in the context of capitalism and class struggles, Marx s conceptualisation of human suffering is in
the form of inequality between classes, the bourgeoisie and the proletariat, or the capitalist and the
working class. Because of the inequality between these two groups, capitalists would usually hold
the power over the proletariat, the workers and the labourers who engage in

Confucianism In Classical China
One of the most influential people during classical China was Confucius and his belief system of
Confucianism. There are many reasons why Confucianism rose among the other belief systems to
become one of the superior and most widespread in classical China. First and most obviously,
Confucianism made its success with the birth of Confucius in 551 BCE who is the author and
creator of all the content in Confucianism. More seriously now, knowing the fact that Confucius and
Confucianism was created during the Zhou dynasty the reasons for Confucianism at that time
seemed mandatory. During the Zhou dynasty, the Chinese government was incredibly weak due to

Starbucks has a significant geographical presence across the globe. It has been recognized for its

Reflection To Return To The Classroom Culture As A...
Reaction to Ginott Quote The Ginott quote reminds me of my years as a preschool teacher. I
had times that I was more inspiring than torturous, and times that were more miserable than
joyous. Unfortunately, this same sediment echoed down the halls of the school. I was a
requested teacher and I knew that I loved to work with kids, but I was having a hard time being
trapped in a room with them for eight hours. I lacked knowledge and resources but fully
understood the impact I had on the children in the class. I knew I had to leave and learn, before I
did damage. The variation in the way that I viewed my position is one of the reasons I returned
to school to continue my education. That was almost four years ago. Since then, I have
completed my bachelors and am working on my masters. I plan to return to the classroom culture
as an elementary school counselor. During my hiatus, there was a lot of time to reflect on things
that I did well and things that I need to improve on. There are three areas within the Ginott quote
that relate to areas of improvement: 1) personal approach, 2) daily mood, 3) escalate crisis.
Personal Approach. According to Ginott, It is my personal approach that creates the climate

The Philosophies Of Aristotle And Confucius
What is virtue? The philosophies of Aristotle and Confucius establish virtue as a moral trait that
encompasses love, courage, good manners, and happiness. To achieve virtue, one must display
qualities of altruism and promote benevolence in every action. The virtuous person lives by a high

Confucius argues that the junzi treats all beings as equals regardless of where the person may lie in
any social structure that separates individuals living in wealth from those whom live in poverty.
The philosophy of the junzi, abiding by the aspects of ren is: Do not do unto others what you would
wish done to you (Confucius, 12.2). The argument by Confucius is that the person who lives in ren
will achieves dao, a world transformation where a person s temperament is harmonious with nature.
The conditions of the junzi compares to the ideas of a virtuous person as outlined by Aristotle, who
argue that a person of virtue constantly acts in a way in which their actions seek happiness, which
is the ultimate good. This resembles the idea of the junzi displaying ren to attain dao. Confucius
and Aristotle both agree that that virtue is neither taught nor learned, but rather something that
comes from habituation.
Aristotle states that: the proper excellence or virtue of man will be the habit or trained faculty that
makes a man good and makes him perform his function well (Aristotle, 42). In order for a person to
obtain virtue, their actions have to be one of second, almost first, nature. Virtue is a natural custom
that is performed via the natural will of a person and not from instruction. In the Analects of
Confucius, the Master talks about treating everyone as an honored guest when stepping out the front

The Importance Of Water Scarcity In Egypt
Air, food, water, they are the keys of people to survive, it is no doubt that people can t survive
without anyone of these, thus, water is one of crucial thing that people need. In recent year,
water sustainability become a popular topic because water scarcity is quite serious around the
world, about 1.2 billion people or nearly 20% of the world s population face physical scarcity,
another 25% of population live in a country which lack of necessary equipment to get water from
river or lake (United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs 2014) пјЊand water
sustainability is to make sure people have clean water to use in future. Egypt face a water problem,
bad location and inefficient water use, but government have some solutions like use water more
efficient and reduce waste. Israel used to be a water scarcity country, but now, this problem has
been solved by new technology.
Egypt is one of most water stressed country in the world. Two reasons which directly leads to
water scarcity in Egypt. One of main reason is location, Egypt is located in Africa, and surrounded
by Israel, Libya, Sudan and Red Sea, in addition, most areas of Egypt are deserts, these deserts
cause hot and dry climate (Wolvetang 2015). Inefficient irrigation also leads to water scarcity in
Egypt. Because almost 80 mm of rainfall per year, and only 6% of land is suitable for agriculture
in Egypt, which leads to wasteful irrigation techniques such as flood irrigation, this system losing 3

Why The Fast Food Restaurant Essay
As I pushed the door open, I came to realize why the fast food restaurant was rated only three
stars. The food, it did not satisfy me, and it cost more than the ones I bought sporadically. As I
walked towards the ACC Highland campus, a man approached me. He was shorter, skinnier, and
more fragile than I am. Excuse me, do you have thirty seven cents? I don t have enough money for
the bus, he said. Whenever someone new approaches me, I always feel nervous, and this moment
was no different. I am sorry. I used the money to buy food I ate, I quickly said.
It s all right, he hopelessly replied.
He walked away, moving towards the restaurant, anticipating to get money from someone else.
Someone kind.
Someone who s willing to give a response that could make his day.
Someone that s not a liar unlike me.
As I walked towards the community college, my mind fluttered.
Why? Why did I lie? It was a simple 37 cents. Something that could have saved him from going
through the trouble of asking any more people than he has asked already. I even had a dime in my
pocket. I should have given that to him. Or I could have given him the full thirty seven cents from
my wallet. Why did I get nervous!?
I got frustrated. I felt regret. I started feeling hate towards myself and hoped that he would find a
kind person who was willing to give him thirty seven cents.

MD699 Research Issues in Psychology Critical Review of a Research Article Pupils who exhibit
gifted characteristics along with another disability are referred to as В‘twice exceptional students
(Morrison, 2001; Nielsen 2002). This term is used in the article that I have chosen to review, which
analyses the responses and perceptions through interview, of one particular individual (Andrew)

disabilities (EBD). What the researchers aimed to accomplish through this analysis was a clearer

In this study there was no deficit in the amount of data collected by the questions asked by the
researcher, with Andrew providing В‘depth and clarification (p.3) in some replies. The findings
that the researchers identified (p.3) form the next part of my critique. The themes which were
found through analysis of the data compare to other researchers who find that gifted children in
particular suffer from various social vulnerabilities as a result of their special needs (Porter,
1999; Lovecky 1992; Schuler 2003). What strikes me about some of the data is the bias which
comes across from Andrew s reflections. He states, They uprooted me and put me in a
classroom because of my behaviour instead of trying to deal with the behaviour in the classroom
(p.3). The researchers analyse this as being the participant s anger and frustration towards his
labelled disabilities. He then goes on to describe, I don t remember a single thing that we did in
there that I considered as being educational (p.3). Were these statements an actuality of what he
would have stated at the time in question, or were they the result of his ability to reflect from a
teacher s perspective? Nevertheless the statements he makes, which are often quite controversial
e.g. We did not learn about math or science that I recall (p.3), do seem to be conducive to the type
of evidence that the researchers may have required to

Hamlet And Religion Essay
The Religion of Shakespeare
When studying the plays of Shakespeare, primarily Hamlet, it is easy to see Shakespeare had a deep
respect and understanding of Christianity. During the 1600 s, the time in which Hamlet was
created, Christianity was split into two main religious groups. One of these groups was Catholicism,
which was discriminated against, and the other Protestantism. Protestants were the group of
Christians created when the Church of England broke away from the authority of the Pope and the
Roman Catholic Church. Those individuals protested the rule of the Catholic Church, hence being
called Protestants. During this time period, in hopes of deterring the return of the Catholic Church
and it s rule of England, Catholicism was, for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hamlet includes thoughts on mortality, the afterlife, suicide, and the consequences of an
individual s actions. Hamlet mulls over the idea of suicide in his To be or not to be soliloquy.
As he cannot be certain what will happen to his spirit after death, he does not follow through
with this thought. In the Christian religion it is understood only God can give and take life. And
said, Naked came I out of my mother s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and
the Lord taketh away: blessed be the name of the Lord. (KJV Job 1:21). Suicide is ungodly to
Christian s because it rejects God s gift of life. This concern with the destination of one s spirit
shows Hamlet to be aware and concerned for his spirit (soul). Shakespeare adding this inner conflict
inside Hamlet s mind immensely deepens the character. It also shows that, as a writer, Shakespeare
understands completely that an internal conflict can add as much satisfying drama to a piece as
external conflict between characters. Shakespeare including the very human idea of thinking and
worrying about what happens after death makes Hamlet seem as real as any individual you pass
by on a daily

Tropidoderus Kids Essay
Tropidoderus childrenii, more commonly known as Children s stick insect belongs in Kingdom
Animalia. As a member of Animalia, this specie is multicellular eukaryote like other members of
the kingdom. It reproduces sexually between male and female, creating unique individuals, and it is
a heterotroph that relies on plants for its survival.
Children s stick insect can be classified farther into Class Insecta in Phylum Arthropod. Like the
other species of insects, children s stick insect also has the characteristics that all insects of
Arthropoda share. First, it has something called exoskeleton which is external skeleton that helps
arthropods to protect from hazards as well as helping them to support themselves. Second,
arthropods have bodies divided into segments, but insects can be distinguished from other
arthropods because they have bodies divided into 3 major regions: the head with antennae,
thorax, and abdomen. Third, arthropods have jointed legs which are flexible and soft, allowing
them to move even with rigid and hard bodies. This allows Tropidoderus childrenii to crawl with
its 6 legs, as well as using their wings to fly. Last, arthropods have open circulatory system, which
is different from closed circulatory system found in humans. In open circulatory system, blood

The Botany Of Desire By Michael Pollen
The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollen uses examples of four plants including the apple ,tulip,
marijuana, and the potato, to describe evolution and how mankind works to help plants reproduce.
We are a slave to things of sweetness, beauty, intoxication, and control. These four things are
described by the different plant chapters in the book. We as people are driven to these kind of
things because of the product we get, we subconsciously are working to make these plants more fit
and therefore helping in their reproduction and evolution. With each plant chapter Pollen goes into
depth about its contribution to the world and history behind the plant within human evolution. By
using the examples he provides in the book helps demonstrate the ideas of how these plants
contribute to the human body systems, evolution and ecology. To further explain these topics I
chose to explore the apple, tulip and cannabisplants.
The consumption of the apple is involved in two different body systems: the digestive system and
the nervous system. The digestive system has the function of getting nutrients into the body. The
apple is an edible substance that is consumed through the mouth. Teeth cut food into smaller pieces
and then is pushed into the esophagus, being passed by muscle contractions called penistalsis. The
chewed up apple ends up in the stomach where the gastric juices that break down connective tissue
in food and digests protein into amino acids. The apple continues to make

The Impact on a Student s Performance from a Highly...
INTRODUCTION
Consider a student running so swiftly from boarding house to school for his/her class. And in the
time that he/she is right there in front of the door, the teacher welcome him with an eyes wide
open and uttered, Did I ever fail to tell you not to enter my class if you are late even in a single
minute? And the pitiful student left with nothing but a teary eyes. As you put your shoe to the
students situation, what would you feel? Will you feel discouraged or will you take it as a
challenge not to be late again? Supporting to that, this paper aims to appeal who are these teachers
are and their effectiveness on enhancing the students learning, the pros and cons of a high standard
teacher, and the feedbacks of the students once handled by a high standard teacher. To implement
this study, the method to be used is by interviewing some students once handled by a high standard
teacher. We will know how and what do they think and feel whenever these teachers enter to the
classroom and how these happenings affect their performance on that particular subject. Education
is considered as learning itself. In education, a teacher has its own way to make it profound,
realistic, and a peculiar one. This may vary from person to person or from teacher to teacher.
Moreover, learning is a two way process. There is an interaction between the educator and the
learner. In every learning condition, you have to consider the barriers also, and such barriers

Proper intelligence input is essential to taking informed decisions on issues of national security.
Intelligence agencies are important arms of the State for meeting external challenges and for the
proper management of internal security.
In brief, our national security objectives are: (i) preservation of territorial and maritime integrity of
the country; (ii) having friendly relations with all countries; (iii) providing for sustained economic
and social development accessible to all; (iv) creating credible capacities to meet conventional and
non conventional threats and challenges emerging from space and cyber space; and (v) nurturing

programmes and bring out the challenges that we face in the future for the successful prosecution
of these objectives.
To consider the security environment in which we have to fashion our policies, we find that the
global strategic context is changing rapidly, driven by the speed of technology development,
realignment of forces with the recent decline in the markets of the West along with emerging
economic strength and rise of China and India. Many see in this a strategic shift from the West to
the East, but one has to be realistic and not assume that this shift is going to indefinitely endure.

Sociological View Of Religion
Praying is an important aspect of all religions as well as Christianity. To observe this specific
religious phenomenon, I went to the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer. I attended to see one of their
prayers. What they were practicing was not an individual action. They were praying with other
Christians not by themselves. Also they were praying out loud. The Priest was saying the prayerand
the others were either repeating after him or saying Amen when he finished his prayer. After
praying, most of the Christians light up candles at specific part of the church. A famous sociologist
Emile Durkheim discusses about religionin the perspective of sociology in his book, The
Elementary Forms of Religious Life. He mentions in his book that society creates the religion to
live with moral rules. Since I observe the atmosphere of that holy place, I came up with several
questions. What are the forces to make them go to the Church and pray together? And how do they
use the symbols to become a motivated person?

to understand the religion. In the church, people were praying all together. ... Show more content on

Being the only character, other than Bottom, to enter both the human and fairy world, the play
makes Puck to be the protagonist. While there his trickery and trouble are antagonistic in nature,
his vital part is that of a positive character, ultimately resolving all problems. Puck treats the
entire idea of love as madness, the idea Shakespeare was conveying with his trickery. Helena is
portrayed as a desperate character, her passion being for the love of Demetrius. Helena spends
most of the story pursuing Demetrius in hope of receiving any form of affection in return, only
receiving affection due to magic. While chasing Demetrius, Helena says What worser place can

Essay about Exposing Pain in The Enormous Radio
Exposing Pain in The Enormous Radio
In John Cheever s short story, The Enormous Radio, Jim and Irene Westcott are presented as
average, middle class Americans with hopes and dreams just like everyone else. They are
described as the kind of people who seem to strike that satisfactory average of income, endeavor,
and respectability (Cheever 817). Jim and Irene thought they were the epitome of the perfect
American family that was free from trouble and worry. The only way that they differed from their
friends and neighbors was a deep passion for serious music. This passion, through the enormous
radio, brought to their attention the realization that they had just as many problems as the next
family. Their reaction to the radio... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why had this become such a necessity? As she listened to her neighbors most intimate and
private discussions, Irene began to feel depressed, instead of delighted as she once had been
(Giordano 57). Jim had bought the radio to make his wife happy, but the depressing, real life
stories she was hearing everyday made her realize that they had their fair share of problems too.
Listening to other couples quarrel all day made her think about all the problems she and Jim had.
Irene had deluded herself into thinking that her life was different from those she listened to on a
daily basis (Giordano 57), but she now understood that even they had difficulties.
Jim had become fed up with Irene s obsession with the enormous radio. He did not understand
why she listened to it so intently if all it did was bring her misery. Meanwhile, Irene constantly
nagged at Jim for even an inch of reassurance that they had better lives than those on the radio.
Jim fought himself to hold in all his built up anger and frustration towards his wife and replied
Of course we re happy (Cheever 823). Jim knew that they had just as many problems as the next
family. He tried to discuss them with his wife, but as TaVeta Smith points out, she doesn t address
Jim s concerns at all (59).
Jim becomes so upset with Irene s obsession that he unleashes his anger by explaining to her why
she is so caught up in the enormous radio. He

In carbon cycle, carbon enters the atmosphere as carbon dioxide from respiration and combustion.
Carbon dioxide is absore dby producers to make carbohydrates in phtosysnthesis. These producers
then put off oxygen. Then animals feed on the plants. Thus passing the carbon compounds along
the food chain. Most of the carbon these animal consume however is exhaled as carbon dioxide.
This is through the process of respiration. When the plants and animals die, they ar eaten by
decomposers in the ground. The carbon that was in their bodies is then returned to the atmosphere
as carbon dioxide and the whole cycle will start again.
Thank you madam Boo said.
Well you know how the water cycle and carbon cycle works. I hope you do well on your test

Lincoln, Grant, And Whitman
Lincoln, Grant, and Whitman Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, and Walt Whitman all represent
a period of time in which the United States was embroiled in turmoil. From the year 1861 to 1865,
the Union army from the North battled the Confederacy of the South, and when it came to an end
at the Appomattox Courthouse, over 620,000 men had lost their lives (Civil War Casualties, n.d.).
President Abraham Lincolnhad finally found a general he could trust in Ulysses S. Grant, who had
forced the surrender of Robert E. Leeand the Confederate army. Walt Whitman would live the Civil
War life as the most influential author and poet of the times. These men represent three of the most
important figures of the Civil War.

Lincoln considered his father a very stern man, and he did not find much favor in him (Miller
Center, n.d.). After the move from Kentucky to Indiana, Thomas Lincoln built another crude 360
square foot cabin for the family, which included Lincoln s mother Nancy and his elder sister Sarah
(Miller Center, n.d.).
When Abraham was nine years old, his mother died and soon after his father remarried. The young
Abraham bonded with his new step mother, Sarah Johnston who encouraged his education and
frequently defended him against his father in arguments (Miller Center, n.d.). The rural life Lincoln
lived involved much labor, including farm chores, splitting fence rails and working the land
(Abraham Lincoln, n.d.). Lincoln had a voracious appetite for attaining knowledge, and often read
books late into the night, utilizing any free time he had remaining.
Political Career After leaving home, the six foot four Lincoln stood out in his new home of
New Salem, Illinois. He soon began work at the local general store as a clerk, and made himself
known to the townspeople by feats of strength by felling trees and splitting fence rails as he had
done during his childhood (Miller Center, n.d.). Because the general store was a gathering place
for the town, he knew the community quite well. Lincoln s ability to read and write made him
quite popular with the less literate people in New Salem (Miller Center, n.d.). Only

The Effects Of Making Your Child A Latchkey Kid
Each day children across America go to school; education not only being a requirement, but a
necessity of life. Yet when the school bell rings every afternoon, over four million children ages
five to fourteen go home to no parental guardian (Olsen). These children are called latchkey kids;
terminology first used in the 1940s during World War II, when women had to work because their
husbands were deployed. Latchkey meaning the key to the house is often strung around the child s
neck or hidden under a mat near the door. Even though this seemed to be a required thing at the
time, there are many negative effects of making your child a latchkey kid. Children who are left
alone after school, classified as latchkey kids, are more susceptible to violent behavior, unsafe
environments, and unreasonable responsibilities. Many children who go home to an empty
house do not have any structure until their parent or guardian arrives. The afternoon hours after
school were the peak of juvenile crime and these [latchkey] kids are the cause of it. . . In the last
11 years, juvenile crime has increased forty eight percent (Alston). Many of these children will
play videogames when they go home, being influenced by violence and actions of the characters
in the game. Not only do videogames portray violent activity, television shows include criminals
who can have influences on children s actions and what they consider to be right. If a child has an

Gender Role Attachment In Sophocles Antigone
Gender stratification expresses the prominent issue of gender and its link to authority. In Ancient
Greece a man s role in society was looked upon as superior to a woman s role; however Sophocles
challenges Gender role attachment, the beliefs of what is appropriate behavior for gender, in his
play Antigone. The root of problems in Antigone is the unjust gender expectations. The Characters
in the play attempt to break the intrinsic tensions between masculinity and femininity in Thebes and
the extreme authority of men. Antigone s defiance against Creonsets off a domino effect of
outbreaks against gender role attachment. The constant tug of war against breaking gender

Ismene is meek, far from outspoken, a foil to Antigone. Going beyond expressing the difference
between two characters, the contrast between the two girls presents a bigger underlying issue in
Thebes. Much alike to Ismene, women continue to accept the expected role of being submissive
to men. The acceptance of men s superiority among women causes the citizens of this Greek
society to be blind to the true issue. Gender stratification is evident in the instance Ismene reminds
Antigone that they are women. Ismene expresses her concern for Antigone as she defies Creon s
law when she states, We are women; it is not for us to fight against men; our rulers are stronger
than we, and we must obey in this, or in worse than this (59 61). Ismene is cognizant of Creon s
iron fist and his fatal flaw of hubris and wishes to change Antigone s mind so protect her from
possible consequences. Her insistence for Antigone not to burry Polynices exhibits that she s aware
that women are subjected. Ismene attempts to influence Antigone s decisions allows the
continuance of women being submissive to

Honey Spot Play Analysis
The media text Brisbane Tent Embassy battle goes on as Elder stands up for his sovereign rights by
the National Indigenous Times News and the play Honey Spot by Jack Davis both incorporate
themes of racism towards Indigenous Australians. The play deals with fictional events concerning
tension between Anglo Europeans and Indigenous Australianswhich are based on existing events,
such as the event described in the media text. This was about an Indigenous man who was arrested
for legally participating in his cultural practices, a theme which was touched on in the play also.
The two written texts both explore similar themes involving Indigenous rights and discrimination
against Indigenous Australians. Such similar themes are the traditional land use practices which the
Indigenous Australians aren t allowed to partake in, the conscious and subconscious racism
displayed by the Anglo Europeans, and how racial differences create issues in society.
Traditional land use practices consist of how Indigenous Australians use the land to practice their
culture. Both texts incorporate legal issues associated with particular Indigenous land use practices.

Marijuana Damages the Mind and Body Essay
In the United States, the most significantly used illicit drug is marijuana. People use this social
drug to ease or enhance interaction (Kornblum 115). The scientific term for this commonly used
drug, marijuana, is Cannabis sativa (Hasday 24). Cannabis sativa is a dioecious hemp plant and can
be produced in various forms. Usually, the dried leaves, flowers, and buds of the plant is used as
marijuana. In addition, the flowers of the female plant and the buds are the most vigorous part.
Furthermore, the plant produces the main psychoactive substance, tetrahydrocannabinol(THC)
(Wishnia 44). In Putting a Match to the Marijuana Myth, Peggy Mann states Most kids are fully

This study consisted of 51 long term marijuana users, 51 short term users, and 33 non users. All of
the participants experienced nine neuropsychological tests. Attention, memory, and other cerebral
abilities were tested ( Study 3). Nadia Solowij, of the Univeristy of New South Wales in Sydney,
Australia, states long term users performed drastically less on tests of memory and attention. On the
Ray Auditory Verbal Learning Test, long term users recalled significantly fewer words than either
short term users or controls, Solowij reported. Undoubtedly, marijuana use corrupts memory and
other cognitive functions. Therefore, marijuana use causes mental damage to the user. The main
stereotype with marijuana is that it reduces motivation. Symptoms of amotivation include confusion
and diminishing performance. It seems as though marijuana and amotivation remains as a chicken
and egg question. It is unknowable whether smoking cannabis causes amotivation. Moreover, these
could by symptoms of just growing up (Macintosh, sec. 9). On the contrary, this is untrue. Chronic
users of cannabis sativa may develop amotivational syndrome. Constantly being unconcerned about
the future and even feeling unaspiring are signs of this syndrome, experts say (Hasday 40). Scott
D. Lane, of the Univeristy of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, and his colleagues have
studied motivation in group of teens who were marijuana smokers and a group of controlled
adolescents. The study

Interaction between Political and Social Life in Ancient Imperial Rome
The interaction between political and social life in Ancient Rome has been accurately portrayed in
the well researched novel, The Course of Honour , by Lindsey Davies. However as this is a
fictional novel told as an interesting story instead of fact, the information given must be
corroborated with several primary sources to correct any inherent biases.
Lindsey Davies is an author who specialises in writing about life in Ancient Rome. Her novels are

But when Vespasian, in the course of his general triumph, restored stable government to Britain...
(Tacitus, p.68)
As well as being a strong source of information about political life during this time, the novel also
catalogues the struggles faced before and after marriage by Vespasians mistress, the
freedwoman Caenis. Their forbidden relationship is threatened as Vespasian reaches the height
of his political career. Caenis was but a footnote mentioned in history which Davies has
sanctified into a wonder woman without whom Vespasians career could not have possibly
succeeded. This obvious glorification of a story is an example of a bias used to make a tale
more interesting, and the lack of historical sources commenting on Caenis only proves that she is
nowhere near as important as Davis makes her out to be. Regardless, this novel achieves its aim as
an interesting secondary source of information on Imperial Rome from two totally different
perspectives that of a slave and freedwoman, and that of an emperor. It showcases very suitably
both the social and political struggles which are faced in upkeeping this unlikely relationship.
There are different viewpoints on the way slaves were treated in Imperial Rome. Caenis in the
story is first portrayed as a faithful and respectful slave, claiming I know how to keep my mouth
shut, any sensible slave does! (Davies, p.17) This restricted form of life is backed up by this quote

Burial Vs Cremation Research Paper
Although there are many ways to dispose of one s body when one dies, cremation is more logical
than burial; therefore, cremation should be more widely used rather than using burial as a way of
disposal.
Throughout time burial has been the most common way of disposing of the body, but today the
expenses are getting to be outrageous due to the many processes that need to that take place prior to
the burial. In the article, The Cost of Cremation it says, The average cost of burial $7,500 not
including the cost for a casket, and the average cost for a cremation is around $2,000. This is
showing the significance in price range, highlighting that cremation is a cheaper decision. The

Long Term Memory Storage System
The skill to remember the people, events, and locations come across the path of everyday life is a
primary structure of cognition that shows behavior. The aggravation dealt with in problems
(school, friends in the halls or work, coworkers in the break room) provides as a concise reminder
of our reliance on memory. Long term memory storage system is characterized by long duration,
large capacity, and accessibility. Over the years, several different types of long term memory have
been distinguished, including explicit and implicit memory, declarative and nondeclarative memory
(with further subdivision of declarative memoryin episodic and semantic memory. (Mastin. 1)
Long term memory can store an incredible amount of information over an extensive period. Long
term memory is everything we remember that occurred just minutes ago. Long term memories can
be kept for a few days or many years. Although we may forget things every day, it is possible that
long term memory essentially perishes as the years go by and can accumulate a limitless amount of
information without stopping. Many can argue if we in fact forget something at all, or it just
becomes gradually harder to recover things from our memory.
Long term memory is accountable for three areas, which are encoding, storing and retrieving.
Encoding is the capability to change information into an information structure. Storage is the ability
to collect large pieces of information. Recovering allows us to remember things

  • 2. Life Cycles of Products Essay Life Cycles of Products The definition of a product is anything that is capable of satisfying customer needs , this includes both physical products, like cars, cell phones, machines, as well as services like banking, and insurance. Businesses manage and modify their products over time so that they constantly meet the changing demands of their customers, the methods used to manage a number of brands and product lines is known as Portfolio Managing. The different stages through which these individual products develop in time in terms of the sales they generate is known as Product Life Cycle. A product life cycle... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this point, the sales generated are usually low and the profits are typically low or none at all. Due to the fact that the company is paying a lot for advertising and brand building, the customer pays a high price for the product. This stage is also characterized by high distribution costs. At this point of time the product offered is still in its most basic form. A good example of a product in this stage currently is the new DVD Writer for computers, which enables users to store up to five times more information as compared to a compact disc. Currently, they are extremely expensive, the speeds at which they can be written at are relatively slow compared to the traditional compact disc. There is also a heavy advertising campaign by manufacturers in all computer stores. The second stage is known as the Growth Stage. This stage is mainly characterized, for successful products, by a tremendous increase in sales. New customers are added while existing customers are making repeated purchases. By now however, competitors have introduced similar products, with a large number of sales and competitors the price is lowered to make the product more attractive for potential buyers. This is one of the tools of a system that is used in this stage known as Product Differentiation, where the marketing strategy is implemented that seeks to create a difference in ... • 3. Contrasting the Gods in Homer’s Odyssey and the Biblical... Contrasting the Gods in Homer s Odyssey and the Biblical Book of Exodus Many authors have employed the religious beliefs of their cultures in literature. The deities contained in Homer s Odyssey and in the Biblical book of Exodus reflect the nature of the gods in their respective societies. Upon examination of these two works, there are three major areas where the gods of the Greek epic seem to directly contrast the nature of the God of the Israelites: the way problems are solved, the prestige and status that separates the divine from the masses, and the extent of power among the immortal beings. Before any logical argument regarding the contrasting of two works can begin, a foundation must be established that in some way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that the people do what is commanded is evidence of the recognition of Yahweh as their divine God, and it is a testament to the authority they ascribe to Him. The existence and recognition of the authority of these deities does not provide the only cornerstone for this argument. To discuss the relationship between the divine and mankind, an observation and analysis of the interaction between the two realms is imperative. In The Odyssey, many interactions between the gods and men are seen. One of these scenes illustrates Athena s visit to Telmakhos, at the end of which she put new spirit in him, a new dream of his father (1. 359 360) in order that Telemakhos might not give up hope of Odysseus return. It is this type of interaction that gives insight into the relations between the divine and humans, and that provides a framework on which to weave the examination of those relations. An example of this type of interaction in Exodus is found in the form of a burning bush: When, the Lord saw that he [Moses] had gone over to look [at the burning bush], God called to him from within the bush, Moses! Moses! And Moses said, Here I am. Do not come any closer, God said, Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground (Exodus 3:4 5). The interaction between Yahweh and Moses occurs many times throughout the book of Exodus, as do other interactions between this God of the Hebrews and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Crime Of A Juvenile Gang Essay A juvenile gang is a group of youth that causes intimidation and commit criminal acts to gain power to be in control. According to a study done by David Pyrooz, a professor at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville Texas, more than one million juveniles in the United States of America is in a gang. The study found 40% of juvenile gangs are non Hispanic white and the rest is Black and Latino. The study also found, 30% of those gang members were females. Most youth who joins gangs do so around ages 12 or 13, but the peak age for gang membership is 14 and 15years old. Although gang membership is portrayed as a lifelong commitment, the average gang member joins at age 14 and only stays in for about two years. Only 40% of all gangs will allow females to join, and there are approximately 32,000 female gang members. There are many factors why juveniles join gangs, and some of them are because it increases self esteem, they have access to drugs to either sell or use them, and it gives the males opportunities to meet up with other young females and have sex. A negative factor is peer pressure. Some factors why females join gangs are sexual abuse and victimization, family dysfunctions, emotional disorders, exposure to violence, and negligence. Some youths parents aren t in the home, they have nobody forcing them to go to school, and then they start failing which leads to drop outs. Many juvenile gang prevention programs were created in the United States, to provide services to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Kobe earthquake was located in Japan in the suburban city of Kobe, southwest of Tokyo. the earthquake s epicentre was located 16 km below the surface on the island of Awaji, south of kobe. The earthquake occurred in a very populated area which made the effects of the earthquake even more disasterous. What was the cause of the earthquake and how did it occur? Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A large amount of the city was destroyed despite the earthquake proof designs of buildings and infrastructure. Short cuts in the building process have been seen especially in the hanshin expressway, where the vertical reinforcement of the piers holding up the road did not reach the top of the piers, which is where they snapped and the expressway fell over. to stop this from happening again, builders have to make sure that the vertical reinforcements reach the top of the piers. another way of preventing damage is to place rubber blocks under structures such as bridges to minimise the shock of the earthquake. another cause the of damage from the earthquake was tall buildings collapsing on each other like dominoes. this can be prevented by building tall buildings further apart to stop the domino effect. many residential houses in kobe were traditional style houses with heavy roofs and and fragile wooden walls and supports. lots of the people who died in the earthquake were crushed by their heavy roofs falling on them. to prevent houses collapsing, houses need to be built with sturdier walls with lighter roofs. people who weren t crushed by houses were burnt by the fire that was fueled by the wooden houses. to prevent the effects of the fire, houses need to be built out of non flammable materials and be built further apart to stop the spread of the ... • 6. The United States V. Paramount Pictures (1948) After World War II, the filmmaking industry experienced a dramatic change. The Paramount decision and the development of the Hollywood Blacklist created a hostile environment and a tumultuous time for the filmmaking industry. Although the effects would rattle the industry to its core, it was instrumental in shaping the filmmaking business into what we know today. United Statesv. Paramount Pictures (1948) was a landmark United States Supreme Court case that changed the way filmmakers, producers and theaters would operate forever. It was seen as the proverbial first nail in the coffin of the old Hollywood studio system. Under this system, film studios also owner the theaters where their pictures were shown. Therefore, specific theater chains would only show the films that were produced by the studio that owned them. Further, the studios that created the film also had the directors, writers, actors, set designers, etc. under contract. To take it even further, the studios also owned the development laboratories and distribution channels. Basically, the studios were vertically integrated and created a de facto oligopoly. The federal government had no choice but to step in. The studios unfair practices led to the suing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Theme Of The Sniper In the anti war short story The Sniper written by Liam O Flaherty, a Republican sniper embraces his rifle and conceals on the roof top without a sound, waiting to kill his enemies. The sniper accidentally gives away his location when he lights up a cigarette and exposes himself to the enemy sniperon the opposite roof. The two snipers from two conflicting sides then faces each other off through an innovative war; using both their shooting skills and intelligence. Subsequently, the Republican sniper pulls out a brilliant plan and he successfully shoots out a deadly bullet to the enemy sniper. In addition, when the Republican drops to the ground after his injury, he leans against a parapet, which can also be explained as a protective barrier that the sniper uses to hide from all the cruelty and brutal faces of war. All these images demonstrate isolation, desolation and the brutality formed by the war and the images are formed by intention to show the readers the identifiable harmful impacts that a war can carry. The author not only uses the settings to intensify the evilness of war; but he also introduces several scenes of situation irony into the story to further explain the downside effects of war. For instance, when the Republican sniper riskily lights up a cigarette, the light will glow and expose his location on the rooftop. The irony unpredictably occurs when an old lady spy points at the sniper s location to his enemy. This is ironic because no one expects an old and weak lady with trembling legs would secretly be a spy. This forces the Republican sniper to kill the lady instantly because otherwise, he will be killed by his enemies. Another ironic situation takes place when the Free stater soldier arrives at the O Connell bridge in an armoured truck; a tank like transportation machine, and yet he is killed by the Republican sniper when he peeks out the car window with half of his body outside. This is ironic because it is surprising that someone would be that imprudent when knowing that there is a sniper watching his every ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Children s Testimony Of Judicial Proceedings Throughout... Abstract This research paper investigates children s testimony in judicial proceedings throughout the past few decades. An increase in child abuse allegations in the 1980s resulted in mass allegations throughout the United States. As a result, a child is interviewed by law enforcement and social workers regarding what happened during specific incidents. Tactics to acquire the testimonyof the children has been up for debate by the judicial system and psychologists. These tactics include suggestibility, repeated questions, or stereotyping that may alter the testimony of children to accommodate interviewers biases, knowingly and unknowingly, resulting in false arrests and imprisonments. Psychological research has initiated a growing concern ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Children s testimonies have serious implications for the accused and the question of whether or not children are reliable sources of information have been brought to the attention of judges and cognitive psychologists. The history of court proceedings allowing child witnesses to testify has seen an increase in false accusations against teachers, friends, and family members, bringing to question as to why or how a child may come up with false memories. Psychological research into the subject has shed some light on some possibilities as to how some children may be susceptible to manipulations. Research into children s memories has serious implications to society an individual s involved in a specific case. Three outcomes are possible (a) the researchers may discredit the children s testimony in real abuse cases and strengthens the defenses case against a real perpetrator; (b) the child who has witnessed or experienced a crime testifies accurately and truthfully, resulting in a perpetrator going to prison and not committing another crime; or (c) the child has given false accusations as a result of faulty interview tactics by law enforcement or social service workers that result in false charges and imprisonment. Cognitive psychologists take these instances into consideration when creating studies regarding children s memories and relating them to the judicial system (Ceci Bruyn, 1993). One may be wondering why interview tactics that allow room for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Problem Of Unnecessary Blindness There are specifically some important macro scale problems that should be addressed initially in order to help Aravind move towards fulfilling the organizational goals. Specifically these issues are looking at how the organization s operations will be expanded in the future including how the organization needs to plan to grow so it can reach a broader number of the blind population, and also if the organization is truly eradicating needless blindness in India as well as providing the highest quality service it can to both its paying and non paying customers. It is clear that in order to solve the problem of needless blindness in India the organization must make some move in order to reach a wider population. There are several options that Aravind has when moving into the future for how expansion will be facilitated. The first would be for it to continue with operations as currently set up, but publicize its business model and encourage other organizations to copy it and work alongside Aravind to eradicate needless blindness. While this is a viable and seemingly the easiest option, this should not be the only approach that Aravind considers. Aravind has some existing problems in its operations, management and marketing, and while it has achieved success in the past, there are some significant existing components that will contribute to greater weakness within Aravind s business model in the future. It is also uncertain if any other organizations will actually choose to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Hebrew Bible And The Bible Essay The Hebrew Bible contains contradictory and inadequate information, which impacts my views about what the Hebrew Bible, says and what the Bible means. It has multiple significances. It is evident that various scriptures in the Hebrew Bible do not say what it means, nor does it mean what it says. Ultimately, it s going to take some detective work in an effort to enhance interpretation further. [pg. 6]. In addition, I feel that portions, and not all of the Hebrew Bible should be re investigated, modified, re instated and re interpreted to include all God s people, of all nationalities and religions in fairness and justice. Why? The Hebrew Bibleis interpreted by ancient religious authorities that possessed racist values is why. As a result of these racist values, historical records of the existence of African American people were eliminated from the Hebrew Bible. Martin Noth, considered to be one of the most respectable Old TestamentScholars of all time, states in his book The Old Testament World (Fortress, 1966) that the biblical writers knew nothing of any Negro people (Dr. Dan Rodgers). Besides the non existence there are myths, folktales, untruths, dysfunctional behaviors, back stabbing, unbelievable violence, and stories that tend to make you say hum mm. For various odd reasons, unfamiliar to me, my expectations of people and events of the Hebrew Bible are set higher and totally different from what I had predicted. For example, I assumed ... • 12. Human Suffering, By The Marxian Analysis Of Capitalism And... Introduction In this essay, I will examine the concept of human suffering, namely inequality, alienation, oppression and violence as presented in the Marxian analysis of capitalism and class struggles. In examining these concepts I argue that the hierarchy of difference created by the binary model of inferior and superior class positions naturalises this human suffering. In many ways, human suffering is the negation of the other in order to determine oneself. In order to explore the key concepts that effectuate to human suffering, I will first talk about the concepts of inequality, alienation, oppression and violence in the context of case studies drawn from a Marxian analysis against capitalism. After examining the terms, I will critique how power was concentrated in a top down hierarchy within Marxist ideology. Human Suffering The struggle to live against deterministic ideologies constitutes many forms of human suffering. Human suffering could be largely due to the practice of negation of all others who do not belong to a dominant or all powerful group. Human suffering can take many forms, but in the context of capitalism and class struggles, Marx s conceptualisation of human suffering is in the form of inequality between classes, the bourgeoisie and the proletariat, or the capitalist and the working class. Because of the inequality between these two groups, capitalists would usually hold the power over the proletariat, the workers and the labourers who engage in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I was a requested teacher and I knew that I loved to work with kids, but I was having a hard time being trapped in a room with them for eight hours. I lacked knowledge and resources but fully understood the impact I had on the children in the class. I knew I had to leave and learn, before I did damage. The variation in the way that I viewed my position is one of the reasons I returned to school to continue my education. That was almost four years ago. Since then, I have completed my bachelors and am working on my masters. I plan to return to the classroom culture as an elementary school counselor. These objectives set the agenda for our policies and programmes and bring out the challenges that we face in the future for the successful prosecution of these objectives. To consider the security environment in which we have to fashion our policies, we find that the global strategic context is changing rapidly, driven by the speed of technology development, realignment of forces with the recent decline in the markets of the West along with emerging economic strength and rise of China and India. Many see in this a strategic shift from the West to the East, but one has to be realistic and not assume that this shift is going to indefinitely endure. Even today, the ... • 37. Sociological View Of Religion Praying is an important aspect of all religions as well as Christianity. To observe this specific religious phenomenon, I went to the Church of St. Vincent Ferrer. I attended to see one of their prayers. What they were practicing was not an individual action. They were praying with other Christians not by themselves. Also they were praying out loud. The Priest was saying the prayerand the others were either repeating after him or saying Amen when he finished his prayer. After praying, most of the Christians light up candles at specific part of the church. A famous sociologist Emile Durkheim discusses about religionin the perspective of sociology in his book, The Elementary Forms of Religious Life. He mentions in his book that society creates the religion to live with moral rules. Since I observe the atmosphere of that holy place, I came up with several questions. What are the forces to make them go to the Church and pray together? And how do they use the symbols to become a motivated person?
