Torchy s Tacos
For the last few months, there has been a hype over a local taco joint called Torchy s Tacos
located on West McDermott in Allen. From people giving it such a positive review, I decided to
give it a try. As someone who is a lover of tacos, including breakfast tacos, I knew I would be a
tough critic over Torchy s. After I went to Torchy s twice, I decided to give it two thumbs up.
I love Mexican food, and as a native of Texas I ve had plenty of it in my sixteen years of life. Just
as a disclaimer, if you are not a fanatic of spicy foods, I would not suggest Torchy s to you. From
my first trip, I tried the queso first which contains green chile, quacamole, and diablo hot sauce,
but as a lover of fiery foods, I fairly enjoyed this. Their chips are made homemade style and the
only negative thing I would say is their chips are made too thin for their queso. The queso weighs
too heavily on the chip breaking them in half 9 out of 10 times you go in for a delicious bite. The
chips themselves are excellent, but I would suggest making them a bit thicker in order to enjoy ...

From a ride range of tacos from The Democrat to the Dirty Sanchez , I was stumped on which to
order. I decided on the Trailer Park which contains a large piece of fried chicken, lettuce, green
chiles, pico de gallo on a flour tortilla with pablano sauce. You have the option to make it trashy
meaning you take the lettuce off and add queso, which of course I did because for this
experience I was going to go all out. Once I poured the jalapeno ranch on top of my taco, the
flour tortilla is too small to full wrap up it s contents. As soon as I picked up my taco, the queso,
pico de gallo, ranch sauce, and green chiles fell out of the bottom. Alas, I would not let this go to
waste so I scooped all of it up and tried again, but using a fork instead. I was sort of bummed
knowing I couldn t properly eat this taco, but I was still mucho

The Causes And Effects Of Alien Species In Japan
Alien species have been a huge issue in Japan, and not only Japan but the whole world. Alien
species are animals, plants or any living thing that are not originally in that country, but people
bring them over. Alien species can damage other animals, plants or any living thing that originally
was there. They can break ecosystem and can affect the environment. There are many alien species
in Japan that are causing trouble. Alien species can harm the ecosystem, but how do they get there?
We are the reasons they come into different countries. Animals such as ants can not swim the ocean
and come to Japan. They come because people bring them.
One of the alien species in Japan are the small asian mongoose. Mongoose are mammals that are
originally from India. They mainly eat rats, birds, insects and small mammals. The reason
mongoose were imported to Japan was because of snakes called yellow spotted pit viper. They

Jean Baudrillard Research Paper
The Human mind is a very intriguing thing that develops plenty of ideas that sometimes may
only occur to brilliant thinkers such as Jean Baudrillard. Baudrillard s theory is that due to the
media repeatedly altering reality we have lost touch with what is real and what is not,
presuming that the media conveys one reality and developing on it which will conclude to the
viewers losing touch with the reality and having a hyper reality produced on a reoccurring a
cycle on the hyper reality created by the media itself and hence the world would be living in the
hyper reality created by the media for its viewers these theories are referred to as simulation and

Such production misrepresents and masks an underlying reality by imitating it so well, thus
threatening to replace it (e.g. in photography or ideology); however, there is still a belief that,
through critique or effective political action, one can still access the hidden fact of the real; 3) in
the third order of simulacra, which is associated with the postmodern age, we are confronted with a
precession of simulacra; that is, the representation precedes and determines the real. There is no
longer any distinction between reality and its representation; there is only the simulacrum. Felluga

Allusions In The Rocket Man
In The Rocket Man by Ray Bradbury, the main character Doug s father, clearly drove his rocket
ship into the sun intentionally, because throughout the story he talked a lot about death and his
unhappy lifestyle. The night before Doug s father left for what he said would be his last trip to
space, he and Doug had a deep one on one conversation about being a rocketman, and the dangers
of space. Doug asked if it was easy to die in space and instantly his dad listed many ways to die in
space, The meteors hit you. The air goes out of your rocket. Or comments take you with them.

Human Trafficking And The Trafficking
Human Smuggling and trafficking continues to be a worldwide plague that has been, thus far
been largely ignored by the international community. The paramount reason human trafficking
and smuggling has festered and grown roots and spread globally. It started as a grassroots effort
on the local level where women and girls (it affects boys as well) would be used and sold for
sex. Eventually, greed and corruption tagged along for the ride and at that point the crimes became
an organized enterprise. At that point the crimes grew exponentially and spread worldwide and
infested every crevice and nook on earth, no matter how small and insignificant it may. A stellar
example of this the systematic rape, torture and killing of women of Yazidi Christian women in
Iraq and the other region of the Middle East. The ideology behind ISIS would be jihad and anti
Western propaganda, however, whether the motivation be money, drugs, or as in human smuggling,
illegal immigration, the world at large must annihilate it.
Human smuggling and human trafficking are two distinct crimes that, the further down the food
chain each go, the lines do get murky and tend to melt together. Law enforcement from around the
world have often thrown up their hands at the crimes because of the web of complexities involved.
The law enforcement community at times have plum run out of resources and manpower to devote
to the crimes. Human smuggling differs from human trafficking in as it requires payment, consent,

What Is The Theme Of Alienation In Brave New World
It is not uncommon for someone to experience being cut off from their home ; you are cut off
when you go to college, the military, move, study abroad, etc. However, in these situations people
tend to adapt, but imagine going somewhere where everything is different; the way people eat,
socialize, sleep, have relationships, everything changes. Some people could say this is similar to
moving into another country where the culture and language is different. In situations where
everything you ve come accustomed to changes, you can feel like you don t belong. However,
immersing yourself in a completely different lifestyle can also be enlightening. For John leaving his
home meant everything was changing, but because his exile, he is not only alienated but enriched
with completely different outlooks on life. In the novel Brave New World, Aldous Huxleyuses
imagery to develop John s experience and to show that exile brings both alienation and
enlightenment in order to illustrate the theme of happiness is not worth individualism.
Alex Huxley contrasts John s home and the Ford society in order to show that exile can bring
alienation. Prior to John being cut off from his home, two members of the Ford society visit.
Huxley uses imagery to contrast John s birthplace to the part of society that follows the Ford way.
When Lenina and Bernard visit the reservation where John was born, Alex Huxley says The place
was queer, so was the music, so were the clothes and the goitres and the skin

Structuralism Criticism In Sherlock Holmes By Arthur Conan...
Many authors have the option of how she or she would want their series of short stories to be
structured. They can either be in the same format or play around and have the stories to be various
formats. With that said, readers can then analyze the stories by taking a structuralist approach. A
Structuralism Criticism is analyzing the test or narrative as a whole to understand its significance
(Parker). To say it easier, readers analyze the text aesthetically (body and form) to see why the text
written in this specific format is important. With the author, Arthur Conan Doyle, his Sherlock
Holmesshort stories follow a very similar structure which makes it easier to understand the
significance. The structure throughout Doyle s series of Sherlock... Show more content on

Starting off with the beginning, the story always takes in Holmes office and a victim is in need
of his help. Holmes listens to the case as Watson takes notes, and they soon get ready to pursue
the mystery. For instance, in the story of The Speckled Band, the structure of this format seems
to be different as a scared stepsister Helen Stoner, comes into Holmes office asking for his help.
When Helen gives details and specifics, Watson takes notes and they re ready to head off. When
Holmes notices that the case is going to be dangerous, Watson insists on coming along. Even
though Holmes always asks Watson to tag along in a majority of the Holmes stories, in this
specific story, Holmes doesn t directly ask for Watson s presence. Instead, Watson insists on
coming along without having Holmes ask him prior. He just comes along after convincing
Holmes that he can handle every kind of danger. Moving along, when the clues are becoming
hinted, Holmes is always two steps ahead whereas Watson is two steps behind. Watson is always
seen as a sidekick to Holmes and isn t quite there yet of being up to par with Holmes strategies.
Especially in The Red Headed League, Holmes looked at all the possible suspects with a close eye
and noticed the smallest details, such as the dirt on the pants, kinds of shoes worn,

East of Eden
Literary Analysis of East of Eden
The Author and His/ Her Times: The author of East of Eden is John Steinbeck. Steinbeck was
born in Salinas California, one of the settings in East of Eden. His mother, a former school
teacher, and helped him build his passion for reading and the written word. He speaks of her and
her family in his book. They play a vital role in the progression of the book.
Many of Steinbeck s novels could be classified as social novels. His novels usually deal with
economic problems in rural labor. You can see this reflected in his novels as they are used to help
tell the story. In east of Eden Steinbeck uses history two tell of two families the Trask s and the
Hamilton s, which are his own family. Before Steinbeck ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Caleb is the most complex character. He seems to have inherited the evil tendencies of his mother
at first. He is fiercely jealous of his brother Aron. Although after his brother dies he struggles
against what he thinks is his inherited evil and wishes to follow good. He follows the way to good
by listening to the advice of Timshel.
Setting: The novel takes place between 1862 to 1918. A lot of the book takes place in Salinas
California. It then is briefly in Massachusetts and Connecticut. It gives the feeling that the nation
is still in a maturing stage. Many of the settings are used to help describe and define the
characters. The settings are used appropriately to the characters. For example the Hamilton s
land is completely dry of any water, but Samuel is one the kindest man in the county. Adam
Trask s land is full of water, but goes through a rough time and does become depressed for a time.
Also for Cathy as it describes the different places where she goes that reflect her strange and
manipulative personality. All of these settings help you see the difference between good and evil.
The rooms in which certain things take place help add to the effect for certain events.
Theme: The Major theme through the novel is Good Versus Evil. Examples to show this are
Samuel Hamilton and Cathy Ames. Sam represents good as Cathy represents evil. Steinbeck also
uses the settings to describe good and evil. He states, I remember the Gabilan Mountains to the east
of the valley

The Injustices found in Banana Cultivation on People and the Environment
On average, a human being consumes about 3 meals a day. While many people eat whatever
they please, there are many individuals who choose to live and maintain a healthy life style.
While almost any type of food is available in our stores and markets here in the U.S., this does
not mean much of produce we consume is actually grown here. Especially when it comes to the
fruits and vegetables we consume every day, many of them are grown elsewhere. While we
import much of our fresh produce, many people fail to see the complications these countries and
farmers go through on a daily basis to get us these crops we need. A fruitlike bananas for instance
has more of a history than many people could even imagine. I m here to discuss the history of this
naturally consumed fruit as well as speak about the countless labor and environmental issues that
have taken place.
Without probably realizing it, bananas are the most consumed fruits of the United States. India
stands as the world s largest producer of fresh bananas, but when it comes to exporting, the five
leading banana exporting countries in 2009 were Ecuador, Colombia, the Philippines, Costa Rica,
and Guatemala. In 2012, the U.S. imported 9,589 million pounds of bananas, more than 95 percent
of them grown in five tropical Latin American nations (Paul). Many of these plantations are built on

Society keeps order, allows for advancement, and gives humanity a good face. It also imposes
morals, roles, and limits a person s potential development. If someone wishes to reach beyond what
society expects of them, they must cast aside social restrictions. Edna Pontellier, in Kate Chopin s

Review Of The Moro War By James Arnold
The Moro War: How America Battled a Muslim Insurgency in the Philippine Jungle, 1902 1913

Factors Affecting Consumer Demand
Consumers has the sole power to dictate the supply and demand of any good. They do not
realize the influence they over the market prices. Time has shown, if people, investors, and
businesses stop purchasing goods and services, the economy will relapse. The theory of
consumer choice can affect three different areas such as, Demand curve, Higher wages, and
Higher interest rates. Since the theory affect these areas, consumers can governor its variations.
What makes a consumer s choice the goods or services over another? There are several factors
that can inspire alteration in those areas for example price, availability, social responsibility of
the company, convenience, enjoyment, familiarity. These factors that can affect consumer s
choice. When the consumers decide to purchase a good, they have considered several different
aspects of it. Normally when the prices are low, consumer s demand will increase in buying the
good. Though price is the dominating contributing factor of consumer s choice, they also
considered all aspects, before making a purchase. The demand curve starts to shift to the right; it
represents the product is becoming more in demand. If the prices are the low but the demand is
not increasing for quality as an issue, it will shift to the left on the demand curve. There are some
consumers who want cheaply made goods this will only effective if that demand was in demand.
Consumer also influence the supply of a good. If the demand is high enough to create a

Determination Of Blood Glucose Levels And Qualitative...
Practical Report (Determination of blood glucose levels and qualitative carbohydrate tests)
Introduction: The term Carbohydrates is defined as the carbon compounds which contains
hydroxyl groups in large quantities (King, 2013). Carbohydrates are those organic compounds
which have the empirical formula CnH2nOn, or (CH2O)n (Fromm 1997). Carbohydrates are
one of the four types of organic compounds in living cells that are produces during
photosynthesis and are the important source of energy in both plants and animals (Ahmed 2014).
They are built from monosaccharides. These monosacchradies are the small molecules that
consists of three to nine carbon atoms and differ in size and in the stereochemical configuration
at one or more carbon centers. The simplest carbohydrates also contain either an aldehyde or
ketone compounds (freeman 2002). Carbohydrates are classified as simple and complex
carbohydrates. The classification of carbohtdydrates is based on the chemical structure of the
food and how fast it absorbs. Simple carbohydrates contains single or double sugars in their
chemical structure whereas complex carbohydrates consists of three or more sugars (ahmed 2014).
There are four major types of carbohydrates depending on their chemical composition. 1)
Monosacchrides: Mono means single and saccharides refer to sugar. These are the simple form of
carbohydrates that consists carbon, hydrogen and oxygen in the ratio of 1:2:1 (Ahmed 2014).

Gospel Of Luke And Mark Differences Essay
One of the biggest differences between the Gospel of Mark and the Gospel of Luke is the length.
The Gospel of Luke goes more in depth of the life of Jesus; in the Gospel of Luke, there is a section
about Jesus as a child, Lk 2:41 52. Jesus birth and childhood is omitted from the Gospel of Mark,
Marks Gospelstarts with Jesusas an adult. The Gospel of Mark is a more condensed version of the
accounts of Jesus s life. There are also differences between the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel
of Luke. The Gospel of Luke begins with a Dedication to Theophilus, in this dedication; the author
tells Theophilus that he has constructed this gospel after much research. Both Matthew and Mark
do not have this dedication. Also, the Gospel of Matthew omits the birth of John the Baptist, but
the Gospel of Luke has it. Another difference between Matthew and Luke is the genealogy. Both
gospels have some account Jesus genealogy but The Gospel of Mathews is longer (Mt 1:1 18); the
Gospel of Luke is shorter and happens much later on (Lk 3:23 38).... Show more content on

and the mission in Jerusalem and the passion narrative and resurrection (11:1 16:8). One of the
differences between the Gospel of Luke and the Gospel of Mark is that the Gospel of Mark puts
the Passion Narrative and journey to Jerusalem together; but, the Gospel of Luke, separates the
two. Other differences are minor, the Gospel of Luke includes Jesus childhood and the Gospel of

and it has been broken. There is research done into deprivation by Bowlby. This is his Maternal
deprivation hypothesis, which stated the belief that if an infant was unable to build a warm,
intimate, continuous relationship with its mother , it would then result in having difficulties
building relationships with other people and also the risk of behavioural disorders. This hypothesis
says that relationships that are discontinuous or where there are separations ... Show more content

Bowlby s hypothesis did not suggest that the relationship had to be with the mother. He believed s
child needed to form a relationship with a primary caregiver however did not necessarily need to
be the mother. The key aim for his hypothesis was to identify the importance of emotional care in
healthy development.
Privation is when an attachment had never been formed. The lack of emotional care can possibly
result in no attachment being formed. It can also result in permanent harm to the infants social and
emotional development. The study conducted by Hodges and Tizard (1989) was of ex institutional
children. He aimed to see effects of children who had suffered early privation. He also wanted to
test Bowlby s Maternal deprivation (or privation) hypothesis. In this research they took out a
longitudinal study. They studied 65 children which were placed in an institution when less than
four months, which had all experienced early privation. By 4 years old, 24 children had been
adopted, 15 returned to their natural homes and the rest remained in the institution. It was found
that the adopted children had closer attachments to their parents and had good family relationships
and this was not the case for the restored children.
Evidence against the Maternal deprivation hypothesis show in Hodges and Tizard s study that
restored children often returned to the

Virtual Private Network ( Vpn )
What is VPN? A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a network constructed by using a local public
network to connect to a private network. The invention of VPN and the main approach behind this
has changed the world over the last decades. This network was initially created by many big
companies and other organizations, but it wasn t created for the end users. The main motive behind
this technology was that the different companies wanted their network to be secure and private and
also they also wanted their network to be accessed by their other offices at the different locations
because only this network can hold the secrets and the important information about the particular
company. Now, what makes Virtual Private Network

In an extranet, the VPN connections are between company to their partners or the customer. A
well constructed VPN can benefit to the company such as that it can extend their geographical
network. Secondly it could be cheaper in terms of the operational cost in comparison to the
WAN s (Wide Area Network). It also reduces travelling costs for the employees as they can
access the company s network remotely. The use of well constructed VPN can improve network
topology and it can also provide overseas networking opportunities. The use of a good VPN can
provide quick Return on Investment (ROI) in comparison to the WAN (Wide area Network). A
well constructed VPN has different ways to keep the data of a particular company secured and
private. First one is Data Confidentiality, in this method VPN provides the most imperative
service. As the private data of the company travels through a public network, here data
confidentiality is important and it can only be obtained by the proper encryption of the data. This
is the procedure of taking all data that from one computer and sending to another. It should be also
encoded in such a manner that only the other computer can decode it. Mostly every secure VPN s

The tourism industry alone employs more than 98 million people directly i.e. is representing
over 3% of all employment. This share of world employment in travel and tourism is greater
than any other industries combined, across every region of world. This industry is relatively
positive. The job in travel and tourism is forecast to an average of 9% per year over the past
years. So, according to world travel and tourism council data: Travel Tourism generated
100,894,000 jobs directly in 2013 (3.4% of total employment) and this should grow by 2.2% in
2014 to 103,069,000 (3.4% of total employment).

Shakespeare Cross Dressing
3)Throughout the semester, one thing that was noticeable throughout Shakespeare s plays was the
cross dressing of women. The cross dressing of women occurred in Cymbeline, The Two
Gentleman of Verona, and The Merchant of Venice. Shakespeare appeared to be ahead of his time
in knowing what we know now. Through showcasing women, successfully disguising as men
Shakespeare proves that genderis nothing more than a performance. During this era, women were
not allowed to play women parts in the Shakespeare plays. However, this did not stop Shakespeare
from having women parts in his plays. Having men perform feminine parts in the plays did not
stop people from attending the Shakespeare plays as well. What resonates in all three of these plays
is that the women successfully fool the men with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shakespeare proves through these actions that gender is nothing, but a performance. These men
have been men all their lives, but these women are better at being men than they are. Also,
Shakespeare is hinting back on the narrative that people are not always, what they appear to be.
In Shakespeare, the male characters take the women dressed up as men at face value. They never
question the identity of the women pretending to be men. Here Shakespeare is debunking the
subservient role of the women in society. All three of these women appear to be strong women
who go after the things that they want. He was well ahead of his time showcasing that gender is
just a performance. Also, the male characters in Shakespeare are always heavenly flawed, but the
female characters appear to have little to no flaws. Although he has the women, characters
transform back into their subservient roles he delivers his message. The viewing audience at the
time probably was not ready for women of that stature yet. However, he proves a point that gender
is just a performance and no sex is better than the other

Revenue Recognition:
Case Study on
Caltron Computers, Inc.

April 17 , 2010
1. In general, evaluate Caltron s revenue recognition policy and the quality of Caltron s earnings.
Caltron Computers, Inc., a computer hardware company, is publicly held with market capitalization
amounting to over $450 million. Carlton s system designs enable their mini computer systems to
measure up to the power of mainframes with small cost outlays. The accounting practices at Carlton
normally permit revenue recognition after the shipment of the computer systems. Peale, Gower and
Quill, Carlton s auditors, are worried about the accounting practices regarding revenue recognition
of certain transactions during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Further, acceptance could be either by means of an affirmative customer acceptance or on the
customer not taking specific action to reject the product shipments (Grant Thornton, 2010). In the
instant case of Elegant Housing, Inc. neither has the affirmative customer acceptance been
received by Caltron Computers, Inc. nor has the 6 month trial period ending on May 15, 20X2
lapsed. In light of the above circumstances and the revenue recognition provisions, it is
recommended that the revenue of $400,000 should not be recognized. Certain business situations
necessitate that customers take title to the goods purchased, agree to pay for them and yet not be
in a position to accept delivery of the goods. In such cases, the sellers fulfill the manufacturing
requirements and segregate the goods in their warehouses so as to make the goods available to
the customers for shipment. Such transactions are labeled bill and hold agreements (Grant
Thornton, 2010). SAB 104 lays down the following conditions that should all be fulfilled to
enable revenue recognition in cases on non delivery of goods: (1) The risks of ownership need to
have been transferred to the purchasers, (2) The customers have made commitments, preferably
written, to procure the goods, (3) The purchasers call for the bill and hold transactions, (4) The
buyers should be

Theme Of Sin And Redemption In The Kite Runner

But it s wrong what they say about the past, I ve learned, about how you can bury it. Because the
past claws its way out. Looking back now I realise I have been peeking into that deserted alley for
the last twenty six years... It was my past of unatoned sins . Sinis like an albatross around ones neck
and atonement is the only way to redeem oneself. This means that when one commits a sin, they
are burdened with guilt and the only way to get rid of this burden and attain peace and redemption
is to atone for one s sins. Same was the case with Amir, his past full of unatoned sins kept haunting

Emergency Department Bottleneck Proposal
Introduction
Most hospitals experience the affects of the unexpected, ambiguity and uncertainty, and as a result,
face challenges with quality. Middletown Hospital is a 200 bed general not for profit hospital. The
hospital has a 20 bed Emergency Department (ED). It averages 100 patients per day. The CEO of
the hospital has been receiving numerous complaints about long waits for care and poor service
and has charged the Six Sigma team to analyze the root cause of the bottleneck (University of
Phoenix, 2011 Course Syllabus). This paper analyses the root cause ... Show more content on

Using time motion studies will give the team a complete assessment of the patient flow from
registration to dismissal from the emergency room. Time motion studies will involve a step by
step measurement of the length of time the patient spends in each phase of the process.
Examining the cycle times over several days can identify the time bottlenecks are occurring in the
patient flow process and at what stage. The goal of capacity planning is to ensure that patients
move along the shortest and least costly path by avoiding as many delays as possible (Rechel,
Wright, Barlow, McKee, 2010). Using capacity planning will systematically guide the team through
analysis of the demand and availability of resources. Scheduling and controlling techniques With
the six sigma authority in place, the first recommendation is to change the scheduling pattern of
the shifts. By doing so they can put more doctors and nurses on the shift that falls from 6:00 to
9:00 p.m. where the overloading of patients comes into the emergency room. When this is done, it
will have adequate assistance to help with the high volume of patients coming into the emergency
room during the 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. hours. If more doctors and nurses are on that shift, more patients
will be seen and taken care of at a faster time and the turnaround rate will be more than suffice.

Homoid Homicide In Honduras
Honduras has a serious amount of homicides occurring in their community. Within their economy,
Honduras is one of the poorest countries, with about 65% of their citizens living in poverty. During
his term, President Zelaya stirred controversy among the country through acts of reforming the
constitution and making unethical policy decisions (U.S. Department of State, 2011). Honduras has
been ranked the most violence country on the globe. This accounts for the one death per hour ratio
that is due to political views of Zelaya, inequality among citizens, and organized crime(B Lajoie, D

Homicide effects individual s daily lives as well as their mental health. The aftermath of death on
one s family and friends can cause serious mental health disorders. For example, post traumatic
stress, anxiety, and inconsistent sleep patterns (FrontiГЁres, 2017). When it comes to data
collection of homicide events in Honduras, some information may be inaccurate or incomplete
due to the inconsistency in reports. However, data collected about 9,453 violent deaths were
reported in 2013 in Honduras. Per one hundred thousand people, there was 318.3 homicides
among men aged between twenty to twenty four. Also, among those numbers, 15% of those killed
were assaulted, stabbed, or shot (B Lajoie, D Andrea, Rodriquez, Greenough, Patel, 2014).
Through this data, the evidence is clear that this act of homicide is still a deadly act that needs to

Theories Of Betty Neumann And Adaptation Theory Of...
Nursing theories were developed to help professional nurses improve patient management. It helps
promotes further knowledge, fosters critical thinking, and helps guide the direction for future
nursing. There are numerous theories to choose from in nursing practice and they all give a
variety of focal points. The systems theory of Betty Neumann and adaptation theory of Callista
Roy are discussed, comparing both theories to all five components of the nursing process. Betty
Neumann s systems model was developed to help nursing students focus on the patients and not
their illnesses. It guides them to think of the holistic way to treat the patients, to consider all the
aspects that could affect their health and the way to recovery (Hood, 2014). This theory hinges
that individual s body system is affected by numerous components and that nurses help promote
maximum client system stability by reducing the impact of environmental stimuli of system.
This theory consists of three lines of defense. The flexible line of defense is the first safeguard
from the stressors. Stressors are either resisted or lessened by the patient s current health
condition. If the flexible line of defense is broken, the normal line of defense resists the effect
created by the stressors that passed by the flexible line of the defense and protects the system from
further harm. The lines of resistance are stimulated once stressors passed the normal line of defense
(Hood, 2014). This factor helps the

Mad Cow Disease Case Study
Health is one of the most important areas in globalization. I think every aspect of this area
significant to consideration.
The opportunity of globalization, which gives possibility to people to cross boards around the
world is certainly positive side. Transport routes for the distribution of products and other goods
provide new sources of income for developing countries to improve their economic status and
health. It is also positive side. Likewise, it bears an adverse aspect, such as the spread of
epidemics and diseases. I do not believe that the reduction in tourism turnover will have positive
impact on the situation. Such measures will do more minuses than pluses. It will make close
boards and will not change the situation with spreading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Infectious Diseases among the animals lead to vastly decreasing quantity of livestock culture. The
outbreak of BSE and avian flu are vivid examples. Food borne Illnesses one of the most important
aspect of global healthcare.
The outbreak of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), or mad cow disease, led to a mass
slaughter of cattle in Britain and cost the British beef industry between $10 billion and $40 billion.
Other EU countries declined to import cattle from Britain over a period of almost two years as a
result of the BSE. (The damage was not limited to the economy either: criticism over the handling
of the crisis helped contribute to the fall of the government of then British Prime Minister John
Major.) (The Levin Institute, n.d.)
In my opinion cheap prices for imported goods is benefit for the citizens of developed country, but
it carries some negative impacts. I assume that low wages in the developing countries cause of not
providing the desired quality of product manufacturing and sanitation. The spread of the diseases
can occur in food hubs that are engaged in distribution of food in the wholesale and retail chains. It
is place where control of quality must be strong. The solution of this problem may become

Irony In In The Sun And The Open Window
In the two stories, In the Sun and The Open Window , irony and paradox are used quite often. The
stories are both about truth, lies, and honesty but the authors don t just come right out and say that
to you. They allow you to think on the ironies and paradoxes and come up with the deeper meaning
on your own.
In In the Sun irony is used in large amounts. When Sekhar goes with the headmaster to listen to his
music people may think that his truth streak is over but instead Sekhar tells the headmaster exactly
how he feels. He says that the headmasters music is not good and that he needs to quit taking
lessons but the headmaster isn t even upset! This is a paradox because although it is ironic that the
headmaster not be upset, the author is trying to guide you to the deeper meaning that even though it
might not be easy at first, telling the truth is always better than lying to people to protect their
feelings. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The beauty of nature and its ability to set you free, the powers of imagination, individuality and a
rebellion to tyranny are some of the ideas the romantic period brought to society s attention. While

allowed people to get away from the constrained rational views of life and concentrate on an

Romantic escapism is an extremely important element of John Keats poetry, serving as a
foundation for many of his poems. In the ode to a Nightingale he is pouring out his thoughts and
is longing for escape from the world full of strife, sadness and grief.
The recurrence of this theme in his poems is actually not only a part of romanticism, but also
greatly a result of his personal unfortunate experiences in life. This painful experience in life is
what makes him somewhat pessimistic and compels him to resort to the option of escapism
through his poetry ( KEATS PROJECTION OF ROMANTIC ESCAPISM ).
The poem Ode to a nightingale begins with the narrator saying he feels a drowsy numbness but
the feeling is not from jealousy of the nightingale s happiness because the narrator rejoices in the
song. While listening to and appreciating the sweetly sung song of the nightingale, Keats too,
wishes to become like her so that he can fly away from the cruel world that has given him
nothing else but pain. That I might drink, and leave the world unseen, and with thee fade away
into the forest dim. (Keats 1006) Through the use of the nightingale, a very real living creature in
nature, Keats has provided us with both a real bird and a symbol of the immortality that is nature.
Nature, in its never ending cycle of life and death, achieves its own kind of immortality. This is
something that men will never achieve. The bird is

Investigation Of Sleep Essay
Introduction
The amount of sleep varies with each individual and there are many factors that affects this such as
age, lifestyle, environment and health. However, the recommended number of hours for the
average adult is between seven to nine hours. To remain unconscious for approximately a third of
one s life suggests that sleep must serve some crucial function, especially when considering the
evolutionary viewpoint that to be less responsive to potentially threatening external stimuli (e.g.
predators) for such prolonged periods of time has been conserved across all animal species despite
being counter intuitive and a danger to survival.

By using a machine gun, many men could be killed in one time. So the machine gun was stronger
than the individual soldier. Since the Allies outgunned the Axis in artilleryand machinery, the
German soldiers took refuge in trenches that were no match for the kind of warfare waged. This

Political Correctness In America
Merry Christmas! I am sorry if that offended you, perhaps the term Happy Holidays is more
soothing to you. There exists a possibility that even Happy Holidays is offensive to you and that
you simply do not celebrate anything in December. Further still, you could be offended by the
assumption I made that you celebrated any sort of religious or government mandated holiday at
all. Political correctness in America is something we have all experienced whether you been
offended by something or have been offensive to someone else. The term political correctness
can be precarious because I believe it to be a form of censorship and that is can be used as
shackle for artistic creativity and how it divides society as a whole. I want to prove that political
correctness is a dangerous pandemic in America. In my opinion, political correctness could be
seen as the antithesis of the concepts of freedom of speech and freedom of expression. It allows
people to simply label anything that offends them or any subject they disagree upon as being
politically incorrect. The beginning of this essay, Merry Christmas, is still a controversial subject...

that society as a whole could benefit. People need to stop being so offended by everything that see

Theories Of Pragmatics
Why are there so many theories in pragmatics concerning meaning in language? Why is the study

time of the main theories in pragmatics show a greater understanding of language use?

very straightforward concept but it is very obscure indeed. As human beings we are designed to
acquire meaning from the world, it allows us make a conceptualization of the world. It is the most
important feature of language, as the main purpose of language is to communicate with each other,
in other words, to know what we mean . This looks quite straightforward and obvious as I have
mentioned before, but what makes meaning so hard to understand is the little consciousness that
we have of the knowledge and principles that govern our communicative ability that make us
humans. As Aristotle said in Politics, Man is by nature a social animal; an individual who is
unsocial naturally... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The term context is vast, but it can be defined as the elements that surround an utterance and
determine its meaning. The meaning of the utterances is inferred, that means that the meaning is
implicit and is interpreted subjectively which also affects to the number of interpretations that
can derive from one context. One same sentence can have two different meaning in a different
context. For instance, consider two people, Jane and Ron, who have just started dating. If Ron
says to Jane at the end of the night, I like you a lot. Jane will most likely feel great about the
situation. But imagine that Jane and Ron have been dating for some weeks now, and Jane asks,
Do you love me? Now if Ron says, I like you a lot, her reaction will most definitely be very
different, as Ron s statement would be taken as a negative

The Resurrection Of Jesus
Overall, the events of the resurrection must have been a period of great confusion and
bewilderment to Jesus followers. Even though Jesus followers had knowledge of the resurrection
from the Scriptures and Jesus own personal testimony and prophecies (Matthew 16:21; 20:17), they
still did not understand, at least in the beginning. But how quickly that confusion and bewilderment
turned to joy after their eyes were opened. When I became a true follower of Jesusmany years ago, I
can remember the joy that I felt in having my eyes opened. I like to think that the joy I experienced
was the same joy Jesus followers experienced after the resurrection.
Unfortunately, there are not many details concerning the actual resurrection. Matthew s ... Show

Jesus appearance to the women, the apostles, and other believers (1 Corinthians 15:6) proved the
Scriptures and erased doubt concerning the resurrection amongst the apostles and all believers. The
resurrection preceded Jesus charge to disciple all nations and Peter s full restoration; furthermore,
Jesus final appearance before the Ascension opened the minds of the apostles which enabled them
to understand the Scriptures and to fulfill the command to disciple all

Prior Appropriation
The dust settled as the last vehicle departed the newly established ghost town. What was once a
bustling rural community in eastern Colorado, complete with a school and church, and businesses
off the main street, has become deserted due to a lack of water. This has become an all too
familiar scene in rural communities across Colorado as the increasing demand for water and the
dwindling water supply pits water users against one another. The state s free market style of
appropriating water, known as prior appropriation, allows for this highly competitive, and often
detrimental situation to persist. As climate change and population growth continue to strain the
water supply in Colorado, it will be necessary to adjust the strict prior appropriation... Show more

The environment, and recreational activities that are essential to the outdoors, have also been
negatively impacted by this system for allocating water rights. The issue of whether or not this
system is equitable towards environmental protection has been raised because environmental
organizations typically do not have the same funds as other entities, such as cities and towns, oil,
gas, and energy companies, and manufacturing. Furthermore, as Jones and Cech point out,
environmental concerns continue to be underrepresented in Colorado water law and policy (p.
712). This has created a situation similar to agriculture, where environmental concerns become
second thoughts to those of M I, giving rise to environmental issues across the state. These
environmental issues can have an effect on residents throughout Colorado, from anglers who enjoy
healthy streams and rivers for fishing, to kayakers and rafters who need flowing rivers to recreate

Women s Treatment Of Women
Women s treatment has changed drastically throughout history. From times of severe incarceration
to the near equality of today, many valuable generalities can be drawn about societies from their
treatment of women. Elizabethan Great Britain, heading the way of the medieval Renaissance,
introduced previously unheard of customs of treating women. In Shakespeare s Othello, women
play integral roles in the outcome of the play yet are treated just as poorly, if not more so, than
the racially and socially oppressed Othello, the Moor of Venice . Shakespeare s antagonist, Iago,
takes advantage of the few female characters in his machinations to cause jealousy and rivalry
among the men for his personal gain. Throughout his exploitation of women, the reasons and
consequences of Iago s actions reveal how women were actually viewed and treated in
Elizabethan times. Iago s condescending view of women causes Iago to begin to manipulate
them. The root of his distrust is revealed to be buried in his suspicions that his wife slept with
Othello. I hate the Moor; / And it is thought abroad that twixt my sheets / Has done my office, I
know not if t be true; / Yet I, for mere suspicion in that kind, / Will do as if for surety (I.iii.392
396). Iago uses this vague thought as justification to treat his wife as if he had been cuckolded. To
further exemplify Iago s patronizing perspective of women, Iago, lies to Othello about the behavior
of Venetian women in regards to faithfulness. I

  • 2. Torchy s Tacos For the last few months, there has been a hype over a local taco joint called Torchy s Tacos located on West McDermott in Allen. From people giving it such a positive review, I decided to give it a try. As someone who is a lover of tacos, including breakfast tacos, I knew I would be a tough critic over Torchy s. After I went to Torchy s twice, I decided to give it two thumbs up. I love Mexican food, and as a native of Texas I ve had plenty of it in my sixteen years of life. Just as a disclaimer, if you are not a fanatic of spicy foods, I would not suggest Torchy s to you. From my first trip, I tried the queso first which contains green chile, quacamole, and diablo hot sauce, but as a lover of fiery foods, I fairly enjoyed this. Their chips are made homemade style and the only negative thing I would say is their chips are made too thin for their queso. The queso weighs too heavily on the chip breaking them in half 9 out of 10 times you go in for a delicious bite. The chips themselves are excellent, but I would suggest making them a bit thicker in order to enjoy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From a ride range of tacos from The Democrat to the Dirty Sanchez , I was stumped on which to order. I decided on the Trailer Park which contains a large piece of fried chicken, lettuce, green chiles, pico de gallo on a flour tortilla with pablano sauce. You have the option to make it trashy meaning you take the lettuce off and add queso, which of course I did because for this experience I was going to go all out. Once I poured the jalapeno ranch on top of my taco, the flour tortilla is too small to full wrap up it s contents. As soon as I picked up my taco, the queso, pico de gallo, ranch sauce, and green chiles fell out of the bottom. Alas, I would not let this go to waste so I scooped all of it up and tried again, but using a fork instead. I was sort of bummed knowing I couldn t properly eat this taco, but I was still mucho ... Alien species are animals, plants or any living thing that are not originally in that country, but people bring them over. Alien species can damage other animals, plants or any living thing that originally was there. They can break ecosystem and can affect the environment. There are many alien species in Japan that are causing trouble. Alien species can harm the ecosystem, but how do they get there? We are the reasons they come into different countries. Animals such as ants can not swim the ocean and come to Japan. They come because people bring them. One of the alien species in Japan are the small asian mongoose. Mongoose are mammals that are originally from India. They mainly eat rats, birds, insects and small mammals. The reason mongoose were imported to Japan was because of snakes called yellow spotted pit viper. They wanted to reduce the amount of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In 1961, Japan monkey centre started to take care of of Procyon Loto, but 12 of them escaped the centre ( Invasive Species of Japan , N/A). • 6. Human Trafficking And The Trafficking Human Smuggling and trafficking continues to be a worldwide plague that has been, thus far been largely ignored by the international community. The paramount reason human trafficking and smuggling has festered and grown roots and spread globally. It started as a grassroots effort on the local level where women and girls (it affects boys as well) would be used and sold for sex. Eventually, greed and corruption tagged along for the ride and at that point the crimes became an organized enterprise. At that point the crimes grew exponentially and spread worldwide and infested every crevice and nook on earth, no matter how small and insignificant it may. A stellar example of this the systematic rape, torture and killing of women of Yazidi Christian women in Iraq and the other region of the Middle East. The ideology behind ISIS would be jihad and anti Western propaganda, however, whether the motivation be money, drugs, or as in human smuggling, illegal immigration, the world at large must annihilate it. Human smuggling and human trafficking are two distinct crimes that, the further down the food chain each go, the lines do get murky and tend to melt together. Law enforcement from around the world have often thrown up their hands at the crimes because of the web of complexities involved. • 7. What Is The Theme Of Alienation In Brave New World It is not uncommon for someone to experience being cut off from their home ; you are cut off when you go to college, the military, move, study abroad, etc. However, in these situations people tend to adapt, but imagine going somewhere where everything is different; the way people eat, socialize, sleep, have relationships, everything changes. Some people could say this is similar to moving into another country where the culture and language is different. In situations where everything you ve come accustomed to changes, you can feel like you don t belong. However, immersing yourself in a completely different lifestyle can also be enlightening. For John leaving his home meant everything was changing, but because his exile, he is not only alienated but enriched with completely different outlooks on life. In the novel Brave New World, Aldous Huxleyuses imagery to develop John s experience and to show that exile brings both alienation and enlightenment in order to illustrate the theme of happiness is not worth individualism. Alex Huxley contrasts John s home and the Ford society in order to show that exile can bring alienation. Prior to John being cut off from his home, two members of the Ford society visit. Huxley uses imagery to contrast John s birthplace to the part of society that follows the Ford way. When Lenina and Bernard visit the reservation where John was born, Alex Huxley says The place was queer, so was the music, so were the clothes and the goitres and the skin ... Also, the male characters in Shakespeare are always heavenly flawed, but the female characters appear to have little to no flaws. It helps promotes further knowledge, fosters critical thinking, and helps guide the direction for future nursing. There are numerous theories to choose from in nursing practice and they all give a variety of focal points. The systems theory of Betty Neumann and adaptation theory of Callista Roy are discussed, comparing both theories to all five components of the nursing process. Betty Neumann s systems model was developed to help nursing students focus on the patients and not their illnesses. It guides them to think of the holistic way to treat the patients, to consider all the aspects that could affect their health and the way to recovery (Hood, 2014). This theory hinges that individual s body system is affected by numerous components and that nurses help promote maximum client system stability by reducing the impact of environmental stimuli of system. This theory consists of three lines of defense. The flexible line of defense is the first safeguard from the stressors. Stressors are either resisted or lessened by the patient s current health condition. If the flexible line of defense is broken, the normal line of defense resists the effect created by the stressors that passed by the flexible line of the defense and protects the system from further harm. The lines of resistance are stimulated once stressors passed the normal line of defense (Hood, 2014). This factor helps the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The recurrence of this theme in his poems is actually not only a part of romanticism, but also greatly a result of his personal unfortunate experiences in life. This painful experience in life is what makes him somewhat pessimistic and compels him to resort to the option of escapism through his poetry ( KEATS PROJECTION OF ROMANTIC ESCAPISM ). The poem Ode to a nightingale begins with the narrator saying he feels a drowsy numbness but the feeling is not from jealousy of the nightingale s happiness because the narrator rejoices in the song. How does the development over time of the main theories in pragmatics show a greater understanding of language use? Introduction First of all, what do we understand with meaning? What is it? Meaning seems like a very straightforward concept but it is very obscure indeed. As human beings we are designed to acquire meaning from the world, it allows us make a conceptualization of the world. It is the most important feature of language, as the main purpose of language is to communicate with each other, in other words, to know what we mean . This looks quite straightforward and obvious as I have mentioned before, but what makes meaning so hard to understand is the little consciousness that we have of the knowledge and principles that govern our communicative ability that make us humans. What was once a bustling rural community in eastern Colorado, complete with a school and church, and businesses off the main street, has become deserted due to a lack of water. • 46. Women s Treatment Of Women Women s treatment has changed drastically throughout history. From times of severe incarceration to the near equality of today, many valuable generalities can be drawn about societies from their treatment of women. Elizabethan Great Britain, heading the way of the medieval Renaissance, introduced previously unheard of customs of treating women. In Shakespeare s Othello, women play integral roles in the outcome of the play yet are treated just as poorly, if not more so, than the racially and socially oppressed Othello, the Moor of Venice . Shakespeare s antagonist, Iago, takes advantage of the few female characters in his machinations to cause jealousy and rivalry among the men for his personal gain. Throughout his exploitation of women, the reasons and consequences of Iago s actions reveal how women were actually viewed and treated in Elizabethan times. Iago s condescending view of women causes Iago to begin to manipulate them. The root of his distrust is revealed to be buried in his suspicions that his wife slept with Othello. I hate the Moor; / And it is thought abroad that twixt my sheets / Has done my office, I know not if t be true; / Yet I, for mere suspicion in that kind, / Will do as if for surety (I.iii.392 396).
