Controversy with Elvis Presley
Rock and roll music existed before Elvis Presley came along, but with his arrival on the
performing scene, Americans could ignore it no longer. In 1956, he strode in front of a television
camera for the first time as the provocative image of a high school hood and achieved an instant
rapport with millions of U.S. teenagers who were experiencing their own adolescent rebellion. Hip
wiggling gyrations that brought a storm of protest from the adult world reinforced his popularity
with young people, and he became the epitome of a whole generation that saw itself as defiant,
disenchanted, and less inhibited than the one that had gone before. His songs, an amalgam of white

Not all of his vocalizing was even or polished, especially in his earlier recordings, but he was
capable of achieving a rich baritone sound with a light, free, wide vibrato. There are some
excellent technical moments in his singing, particularly in ballads such as It s Now or Never .
The development of his vocal style could also be studied partly in terms of vocal technique and
partly to explore the changes that occurred in his vocal quality and choice of songs as the
innovative singer was accepted by the establishment. His early LPs, Elvis and Elvis Presley, can be
compared and contrasted with later albums such as GI Blues and From Elvis in Memphis.
Some say Elvis Presley was targeted for his alleged vulgarity and sexually explicit behavior due to
fear of possible racial integration. Elvis found himself center of a scandal due to his love for music
and his passion for touching his fans with his music. He was targeted for his singing of what
was considered back then to be black music . For years there were debates on the alleged comment
made by Elvis that all blacks could for him was shine his shoes. Some still believe it to this day. I
don t believe the comment was ever made by Elvis and after doing

Iago, the Outsider of Shakespeare’s Othello
In any story with a recurring dark theme there always must be an outsider from humanity who
somehow stands out from the seemingly equal community. In the case of Shakespeare s Othello the
outsider from humanity would be Iago for he truly stands out from the rest of society. Although
Othello may be physically put out of the community, it seems that on an emotional and egotistical
level Iagoputs himself out of society further then Othellos blackness does. He is not merely
manipulative, as other villains are; he turns aspects of truth and good qualities, which he does not
possess, and uses them as weakness for his own scheme. He deceives people to follow his plans by
telling them the truth and what seems to be good advice. By standing on... Show more content on

Iago has no conscience and therefore unlike Othello or any other tragic hero asks for no
redemption. One of Iago s astucious qualities is his ability to take the good quality of others and
use them against them. He takes it even further, however, as he has no realization of the evil he
has done. Iago suspects Othello may have slept with his wife. He is not positive, but says that
surety is not necessary.
Iago
But for my sport and profit. I hate the Moor,
And it is thought abroad that twixt my sheets
H as done my office. I know not if t be true,
But I, for mere suspicion in that kind,
Will do, as if for surety. (I, iii, 379 381)
This shows how Iago isn t really concerned about Emilia being unfaithful with Othello or anyone for
that matter. He just wants to ruin Othello beyond reason.
Iago takes what most of us see as good and uses those traits against characters in the play. He is
able to take something as pure as Othello and Desdemona s love or Cassio s loyalty as a
weakness that he can pounce on. He holds me well; The better shall my purpose work on him. (I,
iii, 381 382) Iago possesses no good qualities so as a jealous pay back he takes trust and turns it
against the trusting and then tries to take it even further for himself.
Iago
Cassio s a proper man. Let me see now;
To get his place, and to plume up my will
In double knavery. How? How? Let s

The Process Of Spatiotemporal Swarms Mining Algorithms
paragraph{Spatiotemporal Swarms Mining Algorithms}
Algorithm ref{algo:spatiotemporal} shows the process of mining short time and long time
spatiotemporal swarms. Initially, all swarms are empty indicated by Lines 3 5. Then, the trajectory
data is preprocessed to remove inconsistent and inaccurate data at Line 6 and build time to
locations matrix at Line 7. After that, infrequent pruning, row and column pruning methods have
been applied upon matrix data at Lines 8 10 and mines locations based all timestamps short time
spatiotemporal swarms which is objects set size is greater than or equal to $min_{object}$ at Lines

After that we will mine others swarms. The necessary steps used for mining moving objects
swarms are pointed below where we consider minimum number of objects $min_{object}$ = 2.
At first, our proposed method generates 1 length tiemstamp swarm from the given database shown
in the figure ref{example1}(b) that is called short time spatiotemporal swarms. It has been shown
that the objects in location $L_3$ at timestamps $T_1$ and location $L_4$ at timestemps $T_1,
T_3, T_5$ are removed because only one object exists in the locations which is less than the
minimum number of objects $min_{object}$. In the second step, proposed algorithm begets 2
length timestamps candidate based on previous 1 length timestamp swarms. Figure
ref{example1}(c) interprets the objects locations based on time where objects are found by the
common objects at particular times of the generated timesets. Suppose at timeset $[T_1, T_2]$ in
location $L_1$ begets objects set $left{o_1, o_2, o_3right}$ from the common objects sets
between $left{o_1, o_2, o_3, o_4right}$ and $left{o_1, o_2, o_3right}$ at time $T_1$ an
$T_2$ respectively. In this way, all the cells of are procreated. If their is no common object, then the
cell value is empty. Then, we apply four efficient pruning techniques: (i) candidate pruning that
prune those candidates which maintain the Apriori pruning principle that is any itemset which is

In my country, it s mandatory to learn English and French considering the past of colonization in
my country. If I don t study those languages in school, the government could sue my parents.
Likewise Creole was my native language which consisted of French and African words. To
contrast, the English taught in my country was insignificant compared to Canada. It put a lot of

Capital Punishment and the Media
In today s society, the capital punishment known as the death penalty has played a major role in the
criminal justice system. It has brought important debates to the national attention in every aspect to
whether end the lives of criminals. With the intense media coverage, it raised high standards on
disputes on high profile cases such as serial killers. The attention given by the media towards capital
punishment attracts the public own opinions. As a result, they re views of the media and society

59). As you can see the political influences on public, it also sets the role on media. However, the
criminal justice system is now more defenseless than ever to change the public frame of mind and
political reaction as well. To be aware of the existing political and social circumstances of
punishment, in regards to the capital punishment, it is necessary to look at both in relation to the
media.
With the attractions of the media, there are public opinion polls which provided the society s
attitudes about the death penalty. The resulting surveys show that the public support for the capital
punishment had risen and fall greatly over the past years. During the 1970s, when the capital
punishment began to make its executions, an increased fear of violence in crime, the public
supported 60 percent favoring executions (Von Drehle, 2006, p. 83). However, the public support
of capital punishment continued to rise in the next decade. According to the General Social
Survey, the favor of capital punishment was nearly 80 percent in 1994 (Von Drehle, 2006, p. 83).
The public opinion regarding the death penalty would follow a decrease support over the time. In
2006, the polls dropped to 55 percent, usually because of the questioning of fairness and equality in
the cases indicating if the criminal is innocent or not (Von Drehle, 2006, p. 84). While seeing the
result from above, the media has been the primary source for determining the public opinion to

A Mechanized War Poem
This poem is my favorite of the three poems we have studied because of the beautiful language
and poetic techniques it employs, and because of how realistically it portrays war. The poem
captures the horror of troops caught in the middle of a brutal and merciless war, and their
desperation. In a mechanized war, attacks take place with frightening speed and intensity, where
there is no place to run or hide, and any response is not made out of logic but of pure fear. This
hasty and irrational way of thinking fueled only by terror typically only ended in death for both
the attacker and the defender, and severe trauma for any survivors. Using a series of present
continuous verbs, the poet depicts fast evolving action. He portrays the realness... Show more

When classically looking at viruses and other diseases, humans are the first species that comes to
mind, but there are many other species of animals that are equally affected by these diseases as

without affecting other species. Feline Leukemia virusfor example can be found exclusively in cats.
More specifically, this Feline Leukemia is a retrovirus, which leads to metastasis, tumor growth,

Vacancies are highly important when it comes to keeping your animal healthy and kittens can
benefit greatly if they are injected with antisera and with kittens being the most vaulnber to
getting FLV its important to get them protected ( Jones, 675). FLV should be a core vaccine for
house pets...it provides good protection against a potentionaly life treating infection and benefits
outweigh the adverse effects (Lutz, 570). FLV is not a core vaccine and although it is not many
veterinarians will still give you the option if you have a kitten or younger cat. Thanks to many
reliable tests and removal programs of viramic carriers and improved understanding of FLV
pathogens and introduction to effective vaccines FLV has decreased since recent years (Lutz,

a contagious manner (Jones, 675). To our knowledge there has never been a published

cats that test positive are either in an isolated cage but not in the contagious ward to which they
would just contract more diseases, or with other cats that have FLV (Lutz, 568). The prognosis in

How Does Jem Change Throughout The Novel
At the beginning of the story the author wants us to infer that Jem thinks highly about Maycomb,
however, Jem changes his perspective about Maycomb county as the story develops.
Evidence that Jem changed his positive view about Maycomb was when he stated, I always
thought Maycomb folks were the best folks in the world, least that s what they seemed like (288),
but by the end of the story he thinks they are racist. The story takes place over a three year time
period and Jem experienced many views in the community that were biased against African
Americans. For example, a lynch mob came to a prison to kill Tom Robinson, an African American,
before his trial. After the trial Scout said, It was Jem s turn to cry (284). It ain t right,

Collapse Essay
Prior to the collapse, Dew and I had joined Bally s gym downtown at 15th and Market. Our goal
was to stay healthy and spiritual. Our minds were focused on the after hustling aspect of life and
more into accepting Islam once we got finished in the game. I would bring a Yusuf Ali Quran
with me to the gym and sit in the jacuzzi and sauna and just read some small chapters until I was
ready to leave. My mind was at peace. I met one Muslim brother who used to sell perfumes who
used to drop science on me in the locker room. A bald headed young black lifeguard used to buss

Back up North Philly was a whole different story. The grind was much more relaxed although you
had to be on your P s and Q s. North Philly is a gold mine for all types of hustles and grinds. I

neighbors were cool and kept quiet about things. You had to be respectful, courteous, and
charitable to keep the love going. They only wanted peace on the block. They would salute you,
embrace you, and even help you out. They would warn you from the cops, stick up boys, or even
from their own friends. Most people on that block weren t addicts, so you just had to maintain a
respectful and mutual relationship with them.

Hemophilia Research Papers
Hemophilia A
Hemophilia A, an X linked genetic disease, is the most common coagulation disorder with an
incidence of about 1 2 in 10,000 males and is caused by mutations in the factor VIII (FVIII)
coagulation gene [PubMed1]. It causes infected individuals to not be able to coagulate their blood
efficiently or at all when getting a cut or some injury in which blood is exposed. This disease can be
very deadly because of major blood loss.
Hemophilia A is an X linked recessive disorder. This means that in order for a female to be
affected with the disease, she must inherit the recessive alleles from a mother that is either infected
with the disease or a carrier of the disease and a father that is infected with the disease, since the
father only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is because this allele can arise simply from mutations. However, once the mutation in the
hemophilia gene is present, the chance of passing it on exists [HOG]. It is possible, however,
for hemophilia to disappear from the family tree as well [HOG]. This can happen if all family
members who have hemophilia or who carry the hemophilia gene give birth to children who by
chance do not get the gene [HOG]. As far as the level of severity goes, the clotting factor level
will be about the same from one generation to the next. For example, a son who inherited the
recessive allele from his mother will typically have the same severity level as his mother, if she
also has the disease. Another example is that the daughter of a man who is infected with a mild
recessive allele will typically carry the allele for mild hemophilia as well. Parents children will all
carry the same level [HOG]. This will usually be the case, unless of course another mutation
happens upon the existing mutation causing a difference in severity from the parent in comparison

Implementing Technology in the Mathematics Classroom
It has been over a decade now since we ve been hearing from federal agencies, professional
organizations and teaching accreditation agencies about the need to integrate technology into
school curriculum. Culp, Honey and Mandinach (2005) reported despite several educational reports
and other governmental reports of the large investments in instructional technology resources,
computers, high speed internet access and other forms of technology within the country s schools

In summarizing these suggestions, most of school computers and even the ones at poor urban
districts normally come with Excel. Furthermore, many of teachers if not all have personal
computers at home which they can use to learn and practice with Excel spreadsheets. Even if
teachers don t have computers at home, they could also take advantage of computer resources at
the public library (Zhao and Frank (2003). Most public libraries are walking distance from
general population. These libraries are often open all week some of them even on Sundays where
the use of the Internet or spreadsheets can be done easily (Zhao Frank, 2003). Implementation

represent by a special instance of professional development which has a unique role of curriculum
development (Staples, Pugach Himes, 2005). On the other hand, school officials in conjunction
with technology leaders who make the decision regarding how a school will invest in technology
would first need a good understanding on how technology use to boost learning of the curriculum
and technology use for productivity (Staples, Pugach Himes, 2005, p. 285). Once the understanding
is established, the curriculum developer who anchors technology in the curriculum would need to

The Changing View of Man, The Cosmos and His Place
Throughout the middle ages, people have viewed the cosmos as a basis for the social order here
on Earth. The celestial layers were representations of the medieval society and the church. The
hierarchy of the Kings and Pope over their subjects was justified by the hierarchy of the heavenly
bodies; it was considered natural and no one questioned it because it has been like that for so long.
Medieval life was centered on God, abiding by the doctrines of the Catholic Church, and the
strengthening of faith.
Arts and literature in the medieval age featured divine and supernatural beings that promoted the
power and influence of the church. Spiritual and religious themes were constantly the subject of
paintings, sculptures, and literary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The transition of the pre modern to modern outlook was shown in King Lear, one of the most
famous of Shakespeare s plays. Ever since, the king was at the top of the medieval society, after
him the lords and nobles, knights, merchants, and peasants at the very bottom, but this will no
longer be the case when Lear s daughters decided that they wanted to be equal in power with the
king. Traditionally, children were supposed to honor and respect their father and mother, but for
Goneril and Regan, Lear s wicked daughters, they were only interested in their own individual
interests, a demonstration of very modern values. Cordelia was the only daughter who followed
duties and kept to her proper place. The storm at the heath also represented chaos and instability
because the natural order of things was disrupted with the king losing his rank and authority by
being reduced to a crazy peasant. His journey to madness symbolized his own transformation and a
change of perspective in the way he looked at life.
Again, this shift in thinking follows through in Niccollo Machiavelli s The Prince, on his idea that
a person is responsible for his own destiny and can become powerful gaining himself a high
position of power with the use of his own skill and intelligence. Those who become princes by
virtue of their abilities acquire dominion with difficulty but maintain it with ease (Prince, pg.30).
He favored the republic more than the monarchy due to his reasoning that

Philip Anderson Ethical Dilemma
In this case, we have really two different points of view: in one side, there is Philip Anderson, the
Phoenix branch manager of Stuart Co., who manages a team with his ways, his idea, his
experience but the results do not reach the targets fixed by the firm. In the other side, there is the
direction of Stuart Co., which has opposite ideas to Philip Anderson. I will try to analyze the
challenges Philip Anderson faces from the point of view of costs of control and considering ethical
concerns. Reading this text, we could easily feel that Philip Anderson s work way is totally
opposite to the firm way. The sentence how far he [Philip Anderson] could bend without breaking

This last characteristic is one of the reason for which he is in a delicate situation with the
branch. In fact, Philip Anderson and his team do not reach the targets in term of budget but
develop a lot of relationships based on ethical dilemmas . When he sells the products or the
services, he tries to satisfy both the highest profit for Stuart Co. and the highest returns to the
client. There is a famous proverb which says the costumer is king that implies, the firm must be
attentive to the customer s expectations. Philip tries to find a compromise between both but the
firm prefers establish long term relationship just in the company s interest even if it acts
unethically. Moreover, this kind of conflict between Philip Anderson and Stuart Co. is a proof
that it is difficult to establish a cost control respecting ethical concerns. Indeed, to realize a cost
control management, a firm has to fixed budget targets but these objectives have to be possible
and controllable. Perhaps in this case, the objectives fixed for Philip are too difficult if the
manager want to respect some virtues during the selling. For its success, an enterprise has to
realize a good turnover but this turnover is good only if there are some customers that is why cost
control is as important as ethical issues. With its thinking way, the branch of this firm does not
keep the focus on its manager (Philip Anderson) and on its customers. If I were Philip

The Disenchanted Research Paper
Research paper: The Disenchanted F. Scott Fitzgerald s life and work were in a knot from the
start; his profession spanned one of the most tumultuous eras of the century, and from the very
start he was the creator and the victim of the new culture of celebrity which accompanied the rise

ways represents Fitzgerald in his later years; Manley Halliday is that character. His mind s eye,
incurably bifocal, could never stop searching for the fairy tale maiden who made his young

Literary Devices Used In The Canterbury Tales
In The Canterbury Tales, Geoffrey Chaucer provides a look into the facets of the Catholic Church
during the Medieval times. By using a variety of characters, he shows that the church was
deceptive and fake. Chaucer s commentary ranges from situational irony and sarcasm. Using these
literary devices we can show how corrupt the church really is.
In The Prologue, chaucer shows that the church was deceptive using the characters, the nun and the
pardoner. The pardoner was deceptive because he would sell fake relics to the parsons to make
more money, an example of this is this quote from the prologue For in his bag he had a

Durkheim Suicide And Suicide
DURKHEIM, SUICIDE, AND SOCIAL COHERENCE
Durkheim s study on suicide
Suicide (French: Le Suicide) was a notable book in the field of humanism. Composed by French
humanist Г‰mile Durkheim and distributed in 1897 it was apparently a contextual analysis of
suicide, a production one of a kind for its time that gave an illustration of what the sociological
monograph ought to resemble. Some argue that it is not a contextual investigation, which makes it
novel among other academic take a shot at the same subject findings.
Durkheim reasoned that:
Suicide rates are higher in men than ladies (albeit married women who stayed childless for various
years wound up with a high suicide rate).

If you can t imagine a situation in which killing yourself seems like the best option, you simply
haven t suffered very much. Suicide is, in a sense, the last form of protest against suffering that is
too strong to make life worth living. Sometimes that suffering is purely organic there s something
wrong with your body and it s caused by nothing related to society. But sometimes, suicide is a
protest against being forced to function and give support to a society that is so unfair and unequal
that it s not worth staying alive.
Suicide is a perplexing issue with numerous aspects. Instead of giving in to a narcissistic
apprehension based perspective in which we trust suicide is never right for all individuals, we
ought to educate ourselves more about the reasons for suicide and how best to support individuals
at danger of suicide. A sweeping conviction that suicide is never right, or alright just in instances of
serious agony in end of life circumstances, is stating that suffering individuals have an obligation to
their family, companions, and society to keep on living in intolerable conditions, instead of saying
that society needs to work harder to make individuals lives endurable in the event that it needs

The Black, The White, And The Grey
The Black, the White, the Grey: (A Discussion about the qualities of a good leader in relation to
Machiavelli, Plato, and Marcus Aurelius) In modern politics so much of the black and white
has blended into grey. It has become increasingly more difficult to define a good leader. Just
looking at the Presidential candidates for the upcoming election is making me sick. Theodore
Roosevelt, one of the truly good leaders of our country, says, People ask the difference between
a leader and a boss. The leader leads, and the boss drives. Roosevelt definition of a leader
challenges Machiavelli s philosophy of a leader. This definition, however, matches up with the
example set by Marcus Aurelius and Plato s ideal. Looking at all three of these ideal leaders
presented by Plato, Marcus Aurelius, and Machiavelli it is easy to draw what it is that makes a
good leader. Although a lot of the ideas expressed by these three men differentiate in many ways,
they overlap in key places. An example is Marcus Aurelius ideas stemmed from Platonic thought.
Like the Roman emperor my standard stems from personal experiences, research, and other great
thinkers ideals; I have come to the conclusion that the ultimate leader is someone who exemplifies
the characteristics of intelligence, humility, and ambition. The first key to being a good leader is
intelligence. Plato supports this with his pedagogy of education. It is to be understood that
intelligence in the sense I want to use it, isn t just

Tooth Fairy Research Paper
Exposed: Secrets Of The Tooth Fairy Your Kids Need To Know!
Children are curious about many things, most especially those that affect them the most. If your
little one is asking for the scoop on the tooth fairy, here s everything you need to tell them.
Are Cavity Free Teeth Worth More Under The Pillow?
Yes, for the simple fact that cavities erode teeth, meaning there s less left of them by the time they
fall out. When plaque takes over the surface of a tooth, germs go to work. These germs create tiny
holes that grow into big holes over time, if the cavity is not taken care of by a dentist.
Without proper brushing, bacteria in the mouth cling to teeth, covering them with acids that wear
away the enamel. Once that s underway, a dentist must ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The phosphorus they contain is essential for teeth and bone development, which makes them very
important to growing bodies. Fresh fruits and veggies may not give you the power to fly, but they
will give you plenty of vitamins for nearly every component of your body, from building blood
vessels to big, strong muscles. Some produce can even clean teeth like a toothbrush, such as raw
carrots and celery!
Has The Tooth Fairy Ever Had A Cavity?
Nope. She was taught very early how important it is to brush and floss teeth immediately after
meals and snacks, to prevent food from settling into the cracks and crevices in teeth and gums,
opening the door to plaque and decay. She also learned the value of fluoride and how it helps to
make the outside of teeth tougher, meaning bacteria and acid can t break through the barrier.
However, she always knew not to swallow any paste or rinse, too.
Additionally, the tooth fairy was told that eating certain foods and drinking some beverages could
lead to cavities, especially those containing sugar and starch, thus, she refrained from consuming
them, save for special occasions once in a while:

author, Doris Lessing, uses the protagonist to show radically changing attitudes towards the Old

a walk with her dogs, a native tribal leader who used to own the whole area. The chief s pride
and respect make the girl gingerly change her opinion of natives and reconsider her prejudiced
vision and idea. As a result, she begins to be more pleasant towards the natives she encounters.

By the 1850s sectional tension had spread across the nation. The lack of a solution to the issue of

arguments made by both sides of the issue to further polarize the nation. The statement, By the

Professor Kraychir A motivated workforce can be a significant success when employees are

Dante s Journey Through Hell, Purgatory, And Heaven
Around 1314, Dante Alighieri completed the Inferno, the first section of what would make up The
Divine Comedy, a collection of three poems reflecting Dante s imaginative journey through Hell,
Purgatory, and Heaven. In these poems, Dante the poet describes the pilgrimage that Dante the
pilgrim must complete to attain salvation. With the Roman poet Virgilas his guide, Dante the
pilgrim must purge himself of his own sinful nature, which can only be achieved by observing and
learning from those that have landed themselves in either Hell, Purgatory, or Heaven. Described in
Inferno, his excursion begins in Hell where Dante learns about the stories and the sufferings of
many sinners. As Dante the pilgrim progresses through Hell it is clear that he assumes different
personas. In some instances, Dante the pilgrim is portrayed as an empathetic man who pities the
sinners while on other occasions, Dante the pilgrim is portrayed as a callous and indignant being
in regard to the sinners. While Dante the pilgrim is depicted in these two completely different
ways, it is the insensitive portrayal that more precisely depicts Dante the pilgrim, as that is his true
identity when he leaves Hell. His journey affected him so greatly that by the end of his pilgrimage,
Dante the pilgrim has transformed from a compassionate man into an impervious and even cruel
individual.
When Dante enters the second circle of Hell, where the licentious sinners suffer, Dante meets a
woman named Francesca and

Ishmael, An Outcast And A Loner In Herman Melville Moby Dick
Passage 1: The first passage is the opening paragraph to Herman Melville Moby Dick. The novel
opens the narrator speaking, Call me Ishmael (Melville 3). This line is significant for many
reasons. One is that the narrator does not state that is his name, but just what he prefers to go by.
Another reason is that Ishmael is a biblical name, it comes from the son of Abraham. However,
Ishmael is overlooked in the bible and Abraham s son Isaac becomes this heir of his family.
Thus, making Ishmael an outcast and a loner. This directly reflects what Ishmael is like in Moby
Dick. Ishmael begins to tell his tale, a few years ago he decided to go out and explore the ocean.
Ishmael talks about how he was depressed living on land. He says, ...I find myself growing grim
about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul (Melville 3). November
is often symbolic of death because it is a time between fall and winter when everything is dying.
Ishmael explained how he was feeling morose and gloomy all the time. He even states, especially
whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to
prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street (Melville 3). This implies that Ishmael is
suicidal and often thinks about giving up. During this time, in the 1850s, traveling out to sea was a
dangerous task. Lots of men who traveled out to sea never return. It is considered suicidal to go out
and hunt whales. This is exactly why Ishmael

Regardless, trusting your partner not only to do right by you and your relationship but also to help
you when you need it can take a lot of stress off of your shoulders. Learning to really and truly trust
your partner, while easier said than done is essential to a functioning long distance relationship.
There is a difference between trusting support and dependency, however. It is a very important
difference too. As an individual, each partner must come to terms with the distance and be able to
fend for themselves. This may seem at odds with the previous two maintenance methods as it
advocates for more independence from the relationship, but it is important. Unlike a lot of couples
you can t live together and have separate lives and finances. This makes practical support incredibly
difficult, so instead couples emotionally support each other. This is good, and should definitely be

means is that one partner relies on the other as the source for his or her happiness. In her article on
The Huffington Post, Margaret Paul discusses this issue. I often see couples where one partner is

BIODEGRADATION OF PESTICIDES IN SOIL ENVIRONMENT
Introduction:
Wise use and preservation of the soil recourses of a country can transform a poor society into a

Agriculture is a key sector in the world economy where the competition between the countries is
of great importance in terms of the production. It also contributes about 25% of GDP of Pakistan
and provides livelihood directly to 70% of its rural population. In these conditions, pesticides are

Witches Role In Macbeth Essay
In Macbeth , written by William Shakespeare, the three witches play a crucial role in the play,
influencing: the characters, the plot, and themes. They could be regarded as a backbone in the

The witches absence would mean the absence of the supernatural theme of the play. In Macbeth ,
the supernatural is an integral part of the plot s structure and is a key aspect in making the play

(The land and People of South Africa) This piece of art is written by a South African poet by the
name of Don Mattera. This poem embellished the distress and hardship that South Africa and the
people of this unique and beautiful land had to go through during the times of Apartheid. During
these tragic times of separation people of South Africa, that were against this racial segregation,
stood up for their rights through many ways such as poetry and petition. Others, such as F.W de

With this information we provided teaching using the teaching plan attached in appendix A. The
teaching plan can be summarized in three main points: 1)Parents need to understand the
importance of rehydrating with an oral rehydration solution (ORS) instead of water alone.
2)Child should be given approximately 6 ounces of ORS for each loose stool or vomiting
episode. This ORS should be administered in teaspoons at a slow steady rate if the child is
refusing to drink normally, or if vomiting occurs after drinking. 3)Normal age appropriate diet
should be offered to the infant, no special considerations are required. Since the infant is
currently mildly dehydrated we need to provide 6 ounces of ORS to restore normal hydration in
addition to 6 ounces for each additional episode. Since the infant has been refusing to drink this
is the perfect opportunity for the mother and father to practice giving ORS using a teaspoon.
Family was instructed to provide a teaspoon full of ORS to their child as often as he would
accept it over a period of one to two hours until at least 6 ounces have been administered. They
were advised that the child may want more fluid as time goes on, so they can increase the rate as

Benefits Of Being An American Essay
America, a place where you make your own life choice In America, unlike some countries, they
have the right to make their own choices and with this choice they can follow their dreams. The
definition of being an American generally means that one either lives or was born in the country.
However, actually being an American goes far beyond that of the general definition. Someone can
be considered an American because of the location they live or where they were born. Though
that may be true, there are many other things that better define an American. The freedom of
choice, the chance to create a better life, embracing and accepting different cultures, and the want
to defend peace and freedom better explains what it means to be an American. One aspect of
being an American is our freedom of choice. The image of the western expansion shows an

similar voice and the willingness to accept others as one of their own. To embrace and accept
different cultures can be due to our similarity, They came to us speaking many tongues but a single
language, the universal language of human aspiration. And with this we readily accepted them into

Persuasive Essay On Antidepressant In Children
Depression is defined as a mental illness in which a person is experiencing deep sadness and
loneliness. It is known as one of the most common mental illnesses and it affects all kinds of
people, regardless of sex, age and religion. Many people are not aware that depression is not only
diagnosed in adults, but in children and adolescents as well. Therefore, there is a debate about
whether children suffering from depression should be allowed to take antidepressants.
Antidepressantdrugs should be prescribed for children suffering from depression under the
conditions of doctors limiting the medication, including therapy and having the parents informed
/educated.

Antidepressant drugs, which can be lifesaving, are being underused in young people. Their use fell
significantly after the Food and Drug Administration issued its black box warning in October of
2004, stating that all antidepressants were associated with a risk of increased suicidal feeling,
thinking and behavior in adolescents; later on that warning was extended to young adults
(Friedman 1). The Food and Drug Administration FDA ordered drug companies to place a black
box warning on antidepressant drugs, this would then allow parents to see the side effects the drug
might come with. As antidepressants can have its benefits, it is not the only way to treat a mental
illness like depression. The majority of parents believe antidepressant is the only treatment and that
psychotherapy is a waste of time and money. About 80 percent of people with depression respond
positively to professional medical treatment usually talk therapy, medication or a combination of
both and almost all patients gain some relief from their symptoms. Unfortunately, less than half of
those with depression seek treatment(Clayton

Terry And Frisk Case Study
The police do not always have to have a warrant to conduct a search or arrest. If the police officer
has reasonable suspicion that a crime is taking place they can arrest the suspect. However, they
need substantial visual evidence to conduct a search or an arrest. As well if the suspect gives the
officer consent they can search the suspect. Warrant is also not needed if the illegal possession is
in plane sight, in this case the policeofficer can use the evidence in court and to arrest the suspect. A
police officer does not always need probable cause to make an arrest. Based on Terry Vs Ohio the
idea of stop and frisk was put place. In this case a off duty police officer noticed these men wanted

The Menace Of Materialism In Gustave Flaubert s Madame Bovary
The Menace of Materialism
Written by Gustave Flaubert and published in 1856, Madame Bovary tells a story about the life
and death of Emma Bovary, a middle class woman living in mid nineteenth century France. This
novel is known as one of the best examples of literary realism ever written, and for good reason.
Through his writing and attention to detail, Flaubert does an excellent job of giving the reader an
idea of just how mundane everyday life was like in France during the mid nineteenth century.
Through the various characters in the novel, Flaubert is also able to portray many positive and
negative characteristics he saw in the people living during this time. Of the many different
characteristics and ideas that Flaubert uses to describe characters throughout the novel, I think that
the many aspects he saw in the bourgeoisie class and materialism are uniquely important. I believe
that the ways Flaubert uses the ideas and issues of materialism and similar principles he saw in the
bourgeoisie to tell the story of Madame Bovary, to criticize the bourgeoisie, as well as show how
harmful and destructive he believed these issues could be to a society. The historical context of the
time that Flaubert lived in is a likely reason for his use of the bourgeoisie materialistic ideas. In the
time period that Gustave Flaubert worked on Madame Bovary, the bourgeoisie were considered to
be a very large class. The bourgeoisie being a middle class of people such as manufacturers and

Psychological Tests And Psychological Assessment
Psychological tests and or psychological assessments are an important asset in the field of
psychology. These tests are designed to measure people s characteristics which pertain to
behavior. There are a variety of different types of tests that can be used to assess different types of
behaviors. According to the specific behavior or behaviors being assessed, tests are categorized into
two types, ability tests and personalitytests. Ability tests, which encompass achievement, aptitude,
and intelligence testing are used to determine capacity or potential by measuring scores based on
speed, accuracy, or both. On the other hand, personality tests, which include structured or projective

A level S qualification requires that buyers have a degree, certificate, or license to practice in a
health care profession, in addition to having the appropriate training and experience in ethical
administration, scoring, and interpretation of clinical behavioral assessment measures (NEO PI
Rв„ў, 2012). A level B qualification is very similar to the level S qualification in that it requires a
degree from an accredited 4 year college or university in psychology, counseling, or a related field,
in addition to satisfactory completion of coursework in test interpretation, psychometrics and
measurement theory, educational statistics; or a license or certification from an agency that
requires appropriate training and experience in the ethical and competent use of psychological tests
(NEO PI Rв„ў, 2012). This helps to ensure that the test is only handled by individuals who have the
necessary knowledge to interpret the test without misinterpretation, which could have negative
outcomes. The NEO PI R is self administered, which means individuals who do not have formal
training in clinical psychology, personality or related fields can administer and score the
instruments. Although, it is highly suggested that the examiner review the administration and
scoring procedures from the manual. On the other hand, interpretation of the results should only be
done by professionals with training in psychological testing and measurement with knowledge of the

Non-Adherence To Organ Transplantation
Background
Organ transplantation is a surgical procedure of replacing a failing or diseased organ with a
healthier donor organ. In 2011, nearly 80% of 4500 Canadians needing an organ transplant are
waiting for a donor. Of which, 35% died while waiting for an organ. In 2014, 2356 organs were
transplanted and over 4500 patients were still waiting for the donor. The statistics prove that organ
transplantation is critical and the transplanted organ must stay healthy for the rest of the recipient s
life. The immune system of the transplant patient can recognize the antigens on the transplant organ
as foreign bodies and attacks. To prevent this reaction, transplant patients are prescribed
immunosuppressive drugs. Organ rejection is crucial because ... Show more content on

The size of the NPs prepared was in between 100 150nm. The NPs prepared were found to have
sustained drug release properties (Mittal et al. 2007).
Example 2: Nelfinavir PLGA NPs were prepared by nanoprecipitation method. Drug:polymer
weight ratio was varied from 1:1 to 1:5 and particle size, encapsulation efficiency and drug loading
were measured. Among the drug:polymer weight ratios prepared, 1:4 ratio was chosen as optimal.
NPs found to exhibit sustained drug release up to 24 h and there was a 4.94 fold increase in
relative bioavailability compared to pure drug (Venkatesh et al. 2015). Some of the key
characteristics of PLGA loaded NPs are as follows. NPs prepared with PLGA are known for high
encapsulation efficiency but drug loading is comparatively low which might be a problem with
certain drugs (Mirakabad et al. 2014). Delivery of a pH sensitive drug might not be feasible as
degradation of PLGA forms acids. In the case of oral PLGA NPs drug absorption takes place via M
cells present on the Peyer s patches and isolated follicles of GALT there by avoiding first pass
metabolism (Jain et al. 2011). The surface charge of PLGA NPs is negative which may reduce the
bioavailability as they repel GI mucosal membrane (Zhang et al.

In 1956, he strode in front of a television camera for the first time as the provocative image of a high school hood and achieved an instant rapport with millions of U.S. teenagers who were experiencing their own adolescent rebellion. Hip wiggling gyrations that brought a storm of protest from the adult world reinforced his popularity with young people, and he became the epitome of a whole generation that saw itself as defiant, disenchanted, and less inhibited than the one that had gone before. The development of his vocal style could also be studied partly in terms of vocal technique and partly to explore the changes that occurred in his vocal quality and choice of songs as the innovative singer was accepted by the establishment. His early LPs, Elvis and Elvis Presley, can be compared and contrasted with later albums such as GI Blues and From Elvis in Memphis. Some say Elvis Presley was targeted for his alleged vulgarity and sexually explicit behavior due to fear of possible racial integration. Elvis found himself center of a scandal due to his love for music and his passion for touching his fans with his music. He was targeted for his singing of what was considered back then to be black music . In the case of Shakespeare s Othello the outsider from humanity would be Iago for he truly stands out from the rest of society. Although Othello may be physically put out of the community, it seems that on an emotional and egotistical level Iagoputs himself out of society further then Othellos blackness does. He is not merely manipulative, as other villains are; he turns aspects of truth and good qualities, which he does not possess, and uses them as weakness for his own scheme. Iago suspects Othello may have slept with his wife. He is not positive, but says that surety is not necessary. Iago But for my sport and profit. Iago takes what most of us see as good and uses those traits against characters in the play. He is able to take something as pure as Othello and Desdemona s love or Cassio s loyalty as a weakness that he can pounce on. He holds me well; The better shall my purpose work on him. The necessary steps used for mining moving objects swarms are pointed below where we consider minimum number of objects $min_{object}$ = 2. At first, our proposed method generates 1 length tiemstamp swarm from the given database shown in the figure ref{example1}(b) that is called short time spatiotemporal swarms. It has been shown that the objects in location $L_3$ at timestamps $T_1$ and location $L_4$ at timestemps $T_1, T_3, T_5$ are removed because only one object exists in the locations which is less than the minimum number of objects $min_{object}$. In the second step, proposed algorithm begets 2 length timestamps candidate based on previous 1 length timestamp swarms. Figure ref{example1}(c) interprets the objects locations based on time where objects are found by the common objects at particular times of the generated timesets. The poem captures the horror of troops caught in the middle of a brutal and merciless war, and their desperation. In a mechanized war, attacks take place with frightening speed and intensity, where there is no place to run or hide, and any response is not made out of logic but of pure fear. Ever since, the king was at the top of the medieval society, after him the lords and nobles, knights, merchants, and peasants at the very bottom, but this will no longer be the case when Lear s daughters decided that they wanted to be equal in power with the king. Traditionally, children were supposed to honor and respect their father and mother, but for Goneril and Regan, Lear s wicked daughters, they were only interested in their own individual interests, a demonstration of very modern values. Cordelia was the only daughter who followed duties and kept to her proper place. The storm at the heath also represented chaos and instability because the natural order of things was disrupted with the king losing his rank and authority by being reduced to a crazy peasant. His journey to madness symbolized his own transformation and a change of perspective in the way he looked at life. Again, this shift in thinking follows through in Niccollo Machiavelli s The Prince, on his idea that a person is responsible for his own destiny and can become powerful gaining himself a high position of power with the use of his own skill and intelligence. Composed by French humanist Г‰mile Durkheim and distributed in 1897 it was apparently a contextual analysis of suicide, a production one of a kind for its time that gave an illustration of what the sociological monograph ought to resemble. If you can t imagine a situation in which killing yourself seems like the best option, you simply haven t suffered very much. Suicide is, in a sense, the last form of protest against suffering that is too strong to make life worth living. Sometimes that suffering is purely organic there s something wrong with your body and it s caused by nothing related to society. But sometimes, suicide is a protest against being forced to function and give support to a society that is so unfair and unequal that it s not worth staying alive. Suicide is a perplexing issue with numerous aspects. Instead of giving in to a narcissistic apprehension based perspective in which we trust suicide is never right for all individuals, we ought to educate ourselves more about the reasons for suicide and how best to support individuals at danger of suicide. A sweeping conviction that suicide is never right, or alright just in instances of serious agony in end of life circumstances, is stating that suffering individuals have an obligation to their family, companions, and society to keep on living in intolerable conditions, instead of saying that society needs to work harder to make individuals lives endurable in the event that it needs individuals not to submit ... The Black, The White, And The Grey The Black, the White, the Grey: (A Discussion about the qualities of a good leader in relation to Machiavelli, Plato, and Marcus Aurelius) In modern politics so much of the black and white has blended into grey. It has become increasingly more difficult to define a good leader. Just looking at the Presidential candidates for the upcoming election is making me sick. Theodore Roosevelt, one of the truly good leaders of our country, says, People ask the difference between a leader and a boss. The leader leads, and the boss drives. Roosevelt definition of a leader challenges Machiavelli s philosophy of a leader. This definition, however, matches up with the example set by Marcus Aurelius and Plato s ideal. Looking at all three of these ideal leaders presented by Plato, Marcus Aurelius, and Machiavelli it is easy to draw what it is that makes a good leader. Although a lot of the ideas expressed by these three men differentiate in many ways, they overlap in key places. An example is Marcus Aurelius ideas stemmed from Platonic thought. Like the Roman emperor my standard stems from personal experiences, research, and other great thinkers ideals; I have come to the conclusion that the ultimate leader is someone who exemplifies the characteristics of intelligence, humility, and ambition. The first key to being a good leader is intelligence. Plato supports this with his pedagogy of education. It is to be understood that intelligence in the sense I want to use it, isn t just ... In some instances, Dante the pilgrim is portrayed as an empathetic man who pities the sinners while on other occasions, Dante the pilgrim is portrayed as a callous and indignant being in regard to the sinners. While Dante the pilgrim is depicted in these two completely different ways, it is the insensitive portrayal that more precisely depicts Dante the pilgrim, as that is his true identity when he leaves Hell. • 42. The Menace Of Materialism In Gustave Flaubert s Madame Bovary The Menace of Materialism Written by Gustave Flaubert and published in 1856, Madame Bovary tells a story about the life and death of Emma Bovary, a middle class woman living in mid nineteenth century France. This novel is known as one of the best examples of literary realism ever written, and for good reason. Through his writing and attention to detail, Flaubert does an excellent job of giving the reader an idea of just how mundane everyday life was like in France during the mid nineteenth century. Through the various characters in the novel, Flaubert is also able to portray many positive and negative characteristics he saw in the people living during this time. Of the many different characteristics and ideas that Flaubert uses to describe characters throughout the novel, I think that the many aspects he saw in the bourgeoisie class and materialism are uniquely important. I believe that the ways Flaubert uses the ideas and issues of materialism and similar principles he saw in the bourgeoisie to tell the story of Madame Bovary, to criticize the bourgeoisie, as well as show how harmful and destructive he believed these issues could be to a society. The historical context of the time that Flaubert lived in is a likely reason for his use of the bourgeoisie materialistic ideas. In the time period that Gustave Flaubert worked on Madame Bovary, the bourgeoisie were considered to be a very large class. The bourgeoisie being a middle class of people such as manufacturers and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Psychological Tests And Psychological Assessment Psychological tests and or psychological assessments are an important asset in the field of psychology. These tests are designed to measure people s characteristics which pertain to behavior. There are a variety of different types of tests that can be used to assess different types of behaviors. According to the specific behavior or behaviors being assessed, tests are categorized into two types, ability tests and personalitytests. Ability tests, which encompass achievement, aptitude, and intelligence testing are used to determine capacity or potential by measuring scores based on speed, accuracy, or both. On the other hand, personality tests, which include structured or projective are used to determine behavior traits, that may be overt... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A level S qualification requires that buyers have a degree, certificate, or license to practice in a health care profession, in addition to having the appropriate training and experience in ethical administration, scoring, and interpretation of clinical behavioral assessment measures (NEO PI Rв„ў, 2012). A level B qualification is very similar to the level S qualification in that it requires a degree from an accredited 4 year college or university in psychology, counseling, or a related field, in addition to satisfactory completion of coursework in test interpretation, psychometrics and measurement theory, educational statistics; or a license or certification from an agency that requires appropriate training and experience in the ethical and competent use of psychological tests (NEO PI Rв„ў, 2012). This helps to ensure that the test is only handled by individuals who have the necessary knowledge to interpret the test without misinterpretation, which could have negative outcomes. The NEO PI R is self administered, which means individuals who do not have formal training in clinical psychology, personality or related fields can administer and score the instruments. Although, it is highly suggested that the examiner review the administration and scoring procedures from the manual. On the other hand, interpretation of the results should only be done by professionals with training in psychological testing and measurement with knowledge of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Non-Adherence To Organ Transplantation Background Organ transplantation is a surgical procedure of replacing a failing or diseased organ with a healthier donor organ. In 2011, nearly 80% of 4500 Canadians needing an organ transplant are waiting for a donor. Of which, 35% died while waiting for an organ. In 2014, 2356 organs were transplanted and over 4500 patients were still waiting for the donor. The statistics prove that organ transplantation is critical and the transplanted organ must stay healthy for the rest of the recipient s life. The immune system of the transplant patient can recognize the antigens on the transplant organ as foreign bodies and attacks. To prevent this reaction, transplant patients are prescribed immunosuppressive drugs. Organ rejection is crucial because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The size of the NPs prepared was in between 100 150nm. The NPs prepared were found to have sustained drug release properties (Mittal et al. 2007). Example 2: Nelfinavir PLGA NPs were prepared by nanoprecipitation method. Drug:polymer weight ratio was varied from 1:1 to 1:5 and particle size, encapsulation efficiency and drug loading were measured. Among the drug:polymer weight ratios prepared, 1:4 ratio was chosen as optimal. NPs found to exhibit sustained drug release up to 24 h and there was a 4.94 fold increase in relative bioavailability compared to pure drug (Venkatesh et al. 2015). Some of the key characteristics of PLGA loaded NPs are as follows. NPs prepared with PLGA are known for high encapsulation efficiency but drug loading is comparatively low which might be a problem with certain drugs (Mirakabad et al. 2014). Delivery of a pH sensitive drug might not be feasible as degradation of PLGA forms acids. In the case of oral PLGA NPs drug absorption takes place via M cells present on the Peyer s patches and isolated follicles of GALT there by avoiding first pass metabolism (Jain et al. 2011). The surface charge of PLGA NPs is negative which may reduce the bioavailability as they repel GI mucosal membrane (Zhang et al. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
