A Career in Sports Marketing Essay
A Career in Sports Marketing The business of sports is one of the fastest growing industries in the
country. All over the world, many people participate as players and spectators in a variety of
sporting activities, creating opportunities for the marketing of a company s goods and services. An
important part of the business of sports is sports marketing, which revolves around understanding
consumer behavior and motivating target markets to purchase goods and services. Sports marketing
at Clemson University has many different aspects ranging from sports and technology and sportlaw
to sponsorship and sports economics. Sports marketing is simply any sales or publicity related
activity associated with an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only do the major leagues participate in the marketing process but so do the smaller, minor
leagues do as well. Every athletic organization, big or small, needs sports marketing for its
survival. Sports marketing is needed because it helps the athletic organizations obtain profit,
which is needed for survival. For a promotion to be successful, it must be profitable. And to be
profitable, it must enhance some, if not all, of the following goals: 1. Paid attendance, 2.
Corporate tie ins, 3. Sponsor value, and 4. Media coverage (Helitzer 317). Promotions must
increase the number of people at the event, or paid attendance, it also must enhance corporate tie
ins, which are signs or give a ways at the stadium. Sponsor value, or the value perceived by the
sponsor must also be enhanced along with media coverage. Media coverage is enhanced by sending
the local or national media sources bulletins about the events or by having press conferences. A
strategy that a sports marketer must use is to stagger the promotional gimmicks throughout the
event. If one staggers the promotion, then the audience is always aware of the event and looking
out for the promotions.
Another objective of sports marketing is creating sales. The modern sports marketer is charged with
one simple responsibility: to increase the sources of revenue (Westerbeek 6). This includes
obtaining more sponsors

Big Five Personality Model Of A Professional Workplace
Big Five Personality Model A professional workplace is an environment that produces numerous
challenging situations and if not handled correctly, could create a very unproductive organization.
A well qualified employee is selected to be responsible for overseeing many aspects of a
company, including difficult situations that arise between co workers. The term given to this
worker is a manager; their main task in the organization is to help other employees work more
effectively towards their goals. This may sound like a rather simple task, but it is very deep and
layered with different difficulties. Henry Mintzberg, an internationally renowned author on business
and management, broke down the tasks a manager faces into ten different roles. According to
Mintzberg s managerial roles, there are three categories that break up the ten roles a manager
performs: Interpersonal, Informational, and Decisional. Interpersonal encompasses figurehead,
leader, and liaison. Informational includes monitor, disseminator, and spokesperson. Finally,
Decisional covers entrepreneur, disturbance handler, resource allocator, and negotiator. It is clear
that being a manager is a demanding job and that it requires a high level of organizational and
interpersonal skills. There are numerous different research projects that have been performed in
hopes to discover a new way for managers to be more effective and successful in their day to day
activities. A remarkable amount of research supports that

An Analysis Of Medea And The King Of Corinth
Throughout the play, Medea, Medea proves that knowledge can destroy. She is surrounded by
powerful men, but uses her intelligence as her weapon to get what she wants: revenge on Jason, her
husband. She shows that physical power may not be the ultimate power that one may have, but that
intellectual power can destroy what one may hold close to them. In the play, Kreon, the king of
Corinth, holds his children to a higher importance than his country; Jason, Medeas husband, values
his children and their status in society; and Aigeus, shows that having children would bring him
great happiness. Medea is able to figure out what is most important to these three men to
manipulate and cause revenge on Jason, who betrayed his vows to Medea. This eventually
causes the murder of royalty as well as Jason and Medea s sons. Little does Jason know that the
revenge Medea takes on him is total, as his sons, which are his legacy, are dead. Also, no one
would want to marry Jason because Medea s on the loose, and can go after any woman that
would pursue Jason. As Medea said, For those children [Jason] had from me he will never see
alive again, nor will he on his new bride beget another child, for she is to be forced to die a most
terrible death by these my poisons. Let no one think me a weak one, feeble spirited, a stay at
home, but rather just the opposite, one who can hurt my enemies and help my friends (Medea, 787
793). As one can see, Medea does not take the fact that Jason was

Gwen Harwood s mournful laments Mother Who Gave Me Life and Father and Child explore the
challenging ideas of nostalgia and mortality to provide valued texts.
Harwood s elegy Mother Who Gave Me Life nostalgically explores the confronting concepts of the
unavoidability of death and past bleak memories. Harwood explains explores the fragility e nature
of life through the fabric motif symbolism; fine threadbare linen depicting symbolising the frailty
image of her mother and the inevitability of her demise. Similarly, the reminiscent cosmic and iconic

the unyielding process of time and the inevitability of death. This notion is emphasised through
parallelism; we pick our last fruits , hence utilising showing the reader of the organic discourse

Experiential Learning
CHAPTER I THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Introduction Knowledge results from the
combination of grasping (observation) and transforming reflections into action (concrete
experience) (Kolb, 1894). Nursing is a practice profession. Clinical experience in the clinical setting
is the integral part of the total education process for nursing students. (Estrella Cuarezma Sanchez,
1998) The clinical exposure of a student nurse is an experience that is not to be taken for granted. It
is as important (if not more so) than the classroom lectures. In the field, the student nurse is allowed
to experience dealing with actual patients and witnessing medical cases first hand. That is the
reason why it is imperative that the student nurse make the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Sheth (2008) sighted that private hospitals possesses centralized care. Therefore, student nurses are
exposed to a conducive learning brought by ideal nursing practice exhibited in the health care
setting. In the said type of hospital, Colladilla and Argos (2000) claimed more opportunities
available both professionally and personally for its staff. Thus, student nurses in return could profit
from it. Also, these hospitals are equipped with well maintained facilities, highly technologic
equipment and complete medical supplies. (Johns, 2000) Thus, familiarization begins and would
further evolve to learning. Adequate manpower plus limited handled patients could provide a
centralized care. However, there are also disadvantages. Limited assignments are given to student
nurses because they make sure they give quality care to patients due to patient s payment for
services rendered. There are strict norms associated with providing health care interventions.
Herewith, staffs nurses have significant liability to their patients. They can not afford to make
mistakes. That is why, unlike in public hospitals, students learn more through observation of the
different procedures done in the hospital. Public hospital provides culturally competent care
(Vaknin, 2008). In public hospitals, student nurses learn from actual experience. They can assume

The Plague of American Art
The Plague of American Art In 1965, the American art scene changed forever. When the National
Endowment for the Arts came into being, there was high hopes for a more egalitarian art world
that would spread wide ranging ideas between the coasts, but, in the art world post NEA founding,
dark clouds were forming. The NEA is no longer a sustainable avenue of preserving and producing
American art.. The artshave and will survive the test of time without the National Endowment for
the Arts. According to Katherine Boyle, Individuals have always been the backbone of arts funding
(Boyle). Before 1965, the upper echelons always supported the arts. For example, the Vanderbilts

For those who say censorship is the issue at hand here, this is not censorship. This is the banning
of materials that project and ?visualize? not moral, but unlawful acts. ?A sexual torture movie,
promoting rape and other sexual crimes, is not protected by the First Amendment.? Although
the NEA s tendency to fund illegal pieces of art is disdainful, it also has a problem with reckless
spending, a government trademark. $1500 was granted to a poet who wrote the masterpiece
that is lighght ( Ten ) This piece of poetic genius consists of only one word, its title. The NEA has
a problem with discretionary spending. For what reason should a poet need $1500 to write a
one word poem? If the private sector was at the decision table for that grant, there is no way it
would fly, so why should the government spend without a care in the world? The NEA s
decisions on budget allocations are deplorable and downright sickening, but yet it has many more
issues plaguing its vile existence. Of the problems the NEA, the fact that they censor art is the
most contradictory to their mission. The NEA has an obscenity clause which allows the NEA to
not fund artworks that are obscene. This gives the government the power to say what is art and
what is not. Justice Souter of the Supreme Court in NEA v. Finley said, The decency and respect

Social Education And The Competent Social Work Practitioner
Social Work Education and the Competent Social Work Practitioner
Introduction
Social work education needs to focus on teaching global issues and applying the structural and
anti oppressive principles of practice (Razack Badwell, 2006). According to Mohan (2005) stated
by Razack Badwell (2006) that the social work profession seems to be silent to teach students to
achieve adequate skills to think and act globally. This essay will be divided into five sections. The
first section will briefly describe the topic. The second section will discuss the global issues in
social work education. The third section will discuss the anti oppression approach in social work
practice. The fourth section will discuss the importance of the structural social work practice.
Finally, the fourth section will justify the thesis statement with support of the literature.
Global issues in social work education There are plenty of global issues that need to be
incorporated in social work education. Major issues in the global context are immigration, refugees,
terrorism, security, racism and gender issue. A significant number of people immigrated into
Canada and the USA due to war and poverty. However, since 9/11 the view regarding the Arabs and
Muslims has changed and increase their oppression and marginality. So, these globalization issues
create challenging moments and opportunity for the practitioner and the educators to deal with
these issues effectively (Razack Badwell, 2006).These

Often the best things in life come with sorrow before the joy. This is true in the life of Katie
Davis, who is a missionary in Uganda. She wrote a book about her life there called Kisses from
Katie. It tells of the hard times, the good times, and all sorts of things that she has experienced
during her time in Uganda. Katie is always talking about the joy and the peace she gets from living
the life God has called her to, but that does not mean she doesn t experience trials and hard times
too. This is shown in one specific situation with one of her daughters that displays the idea of
healthy confusion which is a situation that has both pleasure and disquietude.
Katie moved to Uganda right out of high school. She ends up starting a ministry, ... Show more

Katie then brings the hurt and the sorrow back to the entire point of the book. She tells you about
the trust she had in God. She knew that he would take care of her needs, because He was still
working everything for His plan in her life, and in the lives of all of her children. For the good
of His Kingdom and the glory that is His. So I trust Him. (Davis 256) Katie knew that through
her heartache and brokenness, God was still in control. She knew He was taking care of her, and
He was taking care of Jane too. The pleasure comes in here. This is the source of happiness in this
situation. You as the reader are pleased and excited with the peace that Katie felt and believed
through this sorrowful experience.
The event of Katie s daughter being taken away illustrates healthy confusion because the event is
very sorrowful and painful, but also Katie shows her trust in the Lord which brings joy and
happiness. Something like this can teach a lesson to all of us. Most good things come through
tough times. In this situation, Katie learns to trust deeper in Jesus, and to know that He has His
perfect plan in mind. Katie went through a very tough situation, but we all do in our own lives.
Through this experience, Katie found the good in trusting in

Tesla Motors, Inc. Essay
Tesla Motors, Inc. was founded in 2003 and joined the automobile industry out of Silicon Valley.
The company is located in 30 different countries with 18 stores worldwide (Mangram, 2012, p.
296). Tesla Motors entered the automobile industry from a different approach in manufacturing
automobiles. The company began designing, manufacturing, and marketing battery electric vehicles
(BEVs) making Tesla the only manufacturer to sell a zero emission sports car, the Tesla Roadster
(Mangram, 2012, p. 296). Tesla manufactured luxury electric vehicles such as Model S, Model X,
and the soon to be released Model 3 (Eisler, 2016, p. 35). With different automobilemanufactures
entering the BEV market, Tesla Motors, Inc. must conduct a SWOT analysis of the company.
SWOT stands for the company s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (Abraham,
2012, sect. 5.2). Strengths and weaknesses analyze the internal aspects of the company, whereas
opportunities and threats analyze the external aspects. The SWOT assesses the strengths of Tesla
Motors derived from technological advancements, global branding, and market adoption
considering the BEV industry is relatively young compared to the engine powered industry
(Mangram, 2012, p. 289). Their strengths are the internal aspect of the company that makes them
competitive against other companies in the same industry. Tesla Motors, Inc. was the first company
to manufacture a zero emission sports car comparable to the Porsche and

Short Story On April Fools Day
It was a rainy April 1st when Jess was born. The irony of her being born on April Fools Day was
tremendous. Why? Well, because everyone thought she was just a big old joke. Ever since she
was young her parents never seemed to bother to care about her. One particular time Jess
remembers is when her parents forget to wake her up to go to vacation to the Bahamas! The sad
thing is they, her dad, mom, and sister, still went without her. She had to be babysat by a
random babysitter while her family was out having fun. She never seemed to make any friends,
no matter how hard she tried. Compared to her sister, she was a disappointment. Her sister had
straight A s, played volleyball, ran track, was the homecoming queen and was also the most
popular and the prettiest girl in school. On top of this, she had a major crush on the most popular
boy in the school. She doesn t even understand why she likes him, she just has for the last 5 years
for some reason. I mean Kevin was a shallow and a horrible person. Yet, she liked him and the
reason for that is a mystery. One day, her life completely changed and I mean completely
changed. She was sitting in her room and blasting her music. Her favorite singer was Taylor
Swift and right now she was listening to her new hit. Then suddenly a speckle of something fell
on the tip of her nose. She looked up to see glitter falling from the ceiling! Then, all the sudden a
strange creature appeared. Her name was April, and apparently she was Jess

Detection And Prevention System For Cloud Infrastructure
Abstract In this era of technology when everything is available at just one click; Security is a big
issue. Hackers and intruders are getting smarter. There are various methods to protect the network
infrastructure as well as communication over the internet, for example firewalls, encryption, and
virtual private networks. Intrusion detectionis a comparatively new approach to such techniques. By
using intrusion detection, we can collect and use information from acknowledged attacks and
figure out if somebody is trying to attack the network/host. In this paper, we have classified
different types of IDS. Also we have proposed a hybrid model for intrusion detection and prevention
system for cloud infrastructure, which has improved the quality of detecting the unidentified attack
via anomaly based detection along with a module which will try to diminish the number of false
alarms which are generated by the system. Our proposed system finds random attacks in network
and prevents these attacks automatically using the mechanism.

Dred Scott s The Supreme Court Of The United States
It has been presented to the Supreme Court of the United States of America that Mr. Dred Scott
pleas for freedom from his slave master, Mr. Sanford. Initially Mr. Scott was owned by Dr.
Emerson until Mr. Emerson s death when Scott was sold to Mr. Sanford. Under intense scrutiny
and discernment it has been decided by the Supreme Court that Mr. Dred Scott has the
inalienable right to be a free citizen of the United States of America. Scott is a slave, owned by
Mr. and Mrs. John Emerson since 1836. Scott currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri as of
1830. Mr. Dred Scott has presided residence in both Illinois and Wisconsin Territory,
accompanied by his slaveholder. The Illinois and Wisconsin Territories are free, meaning that no
man nor woman can be private property of another. Because of this, Mr. Emerson has no control
nor jurisdiction over Scott. Mr. Scott resided in free territory for several years, therefore, he must
leave this courtroom as a free man. Although slavery is not abolished in the South, it is abolished
in both of the territories that Scott visited during his involvement with Mr. Emerson, making it his
right to be free. It is of the slaveholder s duty to not enter the territories of Illinois and Wisconsin
expecting his slave to maintain in his possession. The responsibility is left on Mr. Emerson and it
is due to his ignorance that his slave will gain freedom today. Slavery is prohibited in both
territories, making it unreasonable that a man should remain a

In this video J. Collins talks about the idea of greatness as a conscious choice and discipline. His
opinion on greatness being a choice is very important. It is not by chance that Abraham Lincoln
became one of the greatest presidents of USA; it is because he chose to be better (Guelzo,
2002). A quick search in Google will yield hundreds of thousands search results for motivational
speakers. And in my opinion one thing that unites them all is the idea that disciple will provide
the opportunity to choose greatness. As a younger adult I always was deathly mortified of
driving big cars, but life had a different plan for me. At around age of 23 24 I was employed by a
valet company and part of the duties were to drive big cars. For several months I would ask my
coworkers to perform my duties of driving all the big cars that needed valet services. It was not
until several month later, when one of my coworkers told me: Jay get in that truck, take your
time, concentrate and drive that truck like you own it and long behold I did it. This was the
pivotal point for a change, since that day I would fight my coworker for the opportunity to drive
big trucks. I chose to be not afraid, I chose to be better valet and I chose to challenge my self. It
did take many months of practice (without any accidents) until I was comfortable enough to drive
a 6 ton truck as easily and efficiently as a 2 ton sports car. In my opinion one is not simply born to
be great at something, but instead correct disciplined choices made trough life force greatness to

Computer Case Study
I recently began to venture into computer gaming and in seeing the pros and cons of building
your own system versus buying a prebuilt, decided that I was going to build my own computer.
With no sound foundation in this new venture I decided that I was going to learn as much as I
could about each component before making such a big investment and quite possibly, immediately
breaking it. After looking at a few different pieces of equipment, I found myself looking at the GPU
(Graphics Processing Unit). One of the first articles I read was a gaming enthusiast that was
explaining how people who purchased the top of the line GPU a few years ago for an outrageous
price, were being outperformed by a newer GPU for a much lower price. This sparked my... Show

Both in cost of product, stock prices and even the supply as well. Over the last few years,
computer enthusiast saw a dramatic shift in prices for GPUs. The biggest spike in price comes
from cryptocurrency mining. At the height of the cryptocurrency mining craze, GPU cards were
being sold for up to triple what they were being sold just weeks prior. A great example of this
was the Asus ROG Strix RX 580 which before June of 2017, cost about around the $300 price
tag. On June 6th, 2017 it hit its highest price and topped at an astonishing $849.99. This was
because of the massive demand for graphics cards and this caused a shortage that has just
recently started to relax as more graphics cards can be found on the market for more reasonable
prices. The equilibrium was completely askew with the extreme demand with not enough
supply. Now that cryptocurrencies have started to settle with not as many mass purchases, we
see prices across the board coming down. With more and more interest in A.I, the GPU finds
itself at the center of its progress. GPUs are taking over the process that CPU s once held as the
computation powerhouse for A.I as it is able to offer more cores to enable faster learning in
certain areas of the A.I field. Since neither of these seem to be going away, making the logical leap
that GPU s will be around and will be constantly advancing with the surrounding technology, seems
like a safe bet. As mentioned before, GPUs will not be going anywhere any time

Urinary Injection Treatment
Injection Treatments for Urinary Incontinence
People who cannot keep urine from leaking have a condition called urinary incontinence. The
muscle that normally keeps urine from leaking (urinary sphincter) may be weak. To treat this
condition, a special material (bulking agent) can be injected into the tube that carries urine away
from your bladder (urethra). This is called an implant. It is used to narrow and strengthen the
urethra.
Urinary incontinence is a common problem in women who have had children and in men who have
had prostate surgery.

The Parents Role in School Shootings Essay
When children commit a horrible act such as a school shooting their parents often look for someone
or something to blame rather than looking at what role they, as parents, may have had in the
tragedy. The often targeted entertainers, video game developers, teachers, drug companies, and
writers are rarely, if ever, responsible for such tragic outcomes and, unfortunately, often become
victims as a result of lawsuits filed in an attempt to place blame on them. The parents of dangerous
children must be scrutinized and sued alongside every other entity being blamed for the heinous
crimes that children commit.

Bystanders In Bullying
Alternatives
However, teachers are not the only ones helping the victims. Several research studies have looked at
the role of bystanders in bullying students. Teachers and students who witness bullying can work
together to reduce bullying in schools and classrooms. But there is also evidence that those who
were bystanders were not willing to help the victims (Espelage, Green, Polanin, 2012). Students
often do not support victims when there are multiple witnesses (Salmicalli, 2010). Students expect
someone else to intervene or ignore the victim or may consider the bullying to be a joke ( Terasahjo
Salmivalli, 2003). Consequently, bullied victims feel that they are not only suffering pain from
being bullied, but also from being ignored by peers (Salmavalli Poskirparta, 2012). ... Show more

My Experience With The End Game
As I sat looking at the final, Dr. Van Tassell gave, I tried to decide what he was up to with this
assignment. What is the benefit, the end game? He always had something up his sleeve. So, I
thought: Is what we answer going to be our real final grade or is this for his own gain? Maybe
both? I still haven t figured it out. Therefore, I must press onward to the actual assignment. Here
it is: I believe I earned an A in INTS 2630; although, in the estimation of my class grades, I earned
a B. I believe I earned an A, because of my mastery and understanding of the course material. The
evidence can be found in the content of my course work and the ability to move forward in my
major with the concepts and ideas attained in the class. Throughout the semester, I found myself
drowning in my daily to do list and unsure of what the bigger picture could be. I had assignments
in each one of classes every single day we met, alongside a full time job, pledging a sorority
(another full time job) and an almost twice daily commute. All of the work forced me to utilize
every second I could spare. I did school work at work and, really, wherever else possible.
Honestly, some days, the class work had been finished on time and other days, it had not. In
INTS 2630, the updated copies of my essays did not always make it on the commute with me.
Sometimes, they were simply not updated or worked on. As for the readings, they had always
been completed in time for class. I found a way to use my

Agile Development And Project Management Essay
Section 2: Agile
Agile development and project management has its roots in the Information Technology world. A
large portion of the information that follows in the next two chapters refers to IT related
development and projects. That being said, Agile is not limited to IT and in fact the model is
expanding well beyond strictly IT.
Agile is a necessary and effective part of the evolution of project. As stated previously, in today s
environment traditional or plan driven Project Management typically defines project success as
delivering on time, within budget, and meeting requirements . In order to meet this definition of
success, we have matured project management processes to try and manage what is a natural
occurrence: chaos.
In the past, the folly of this approach was less apparent, as the speed of change was significantly
less. In today s business environment, it is much more obvious.
In traditional project management we are asking the customer to define requirements early in the
process, assuming the right people are in place and have the ability to foresee what the business
will look like in the future. We then use those requirements to build the product and typically either
avoid change or make the change process so difficult it is not worth the effort.
The unintended outcome is that approach removes creativity and flexibility from the development
process.
This drive to create a self fulfilling prophecy will deliver a product sometime in the future that

The Link Between Omega-3 And Depression
What is Omega 3?
Over the last two centuries, expansion in large scale industrialisation and western populations has
been associated with diet changes; Australians now consuming less omega 3 (Black Dog Institute,
2012).
Omega 3, a polyunsaturated fatty acid, has various forms; Alpha Linolenic acid (ALA),
Docosahexanoic acid (DHA) and Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). DHA and EPA are essential fatty
acids meaning that our bodies are unable to endogenously synthesise them, leading us to source
omega 3 enriched foods.
Link Between Omega 3 and Depression
The protective factor of omega 3 against cancer, heart disease and diabetes is well known but it is
also highly effective in preventing and managing depression.
Raeder, Steen, Vollset, and Bjelland s (2006) experimental study demonstrated that subjects who
regularly consumed cod liver oil, rich in omega 3, were 30% less likely to develop depressive
symptoms; however a causal link could not be made. A recent clinical trial discovered that omega 3
might improve mood in already depressed individuals (Hallahan, Hibbeln, Davis, Garland, 2007).
The trial reported that omega 3 supplementation achieved substantial reductions in surrogate
markers of suicidal behaviours and increases in wellbeing. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Essay on Home Schooling vs Public School
Home Schooling vs. Public Schooling

If you have children that are school age you have probably have thought about the options of home
schooling vs. public schooling. You most likely have thought about how much would it cost or the
amount of time it takes to teach home schooling. With the news articles out there about things that
happen at schools you most likely have thought about how that would be on your child as well. One
of the last things that most parents think about when choosing to home school or not is how your
child s social skills will develop. There are many different articles out there on this topic. The
following essay will give you an indebt description of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

First we have to look at the home situation. It is not a secret that not all homes are perfect, but a
structured environment can lead to healthy study habits. Now the same can happen in a school
environment for some children. So, in turn, those children can start to act out for the stress that
comes with a school environment. When there is a healthy home environment, these children
would be comfortable and be able to focus on the task at hand. Another reason a child might not
misbehave is because they know the consequences for their actions at home. When a child is in
a public school, there might not be much that can be done when a child misbehaves and does
something that is wrong. One of the biggest influences for children in public schools is other
children. Almost everything children do is to look cool in front of their friend or to be popular.
Children will tend to misbehave when their friends are pressuring them to do so. Peer pressure
is a hard thing to deal with for a child. When children are home schooled, there is much less
pressure to be cool and there is more time to focuses on classwork. Now one of the last things
that parents worry about for their children is how their social skills will develop if they are home
schooling their children. Most people would argue that the children are not developing the social
skills needed, because they do not interact with other children their own age. The University of

The September 11, 2001 attack on the United States will forever be remembered as one of the

Trends In Pop Culture
Pop Culture can easily be defined as the different styles and trends that have gained popularity
through different centuries. The unique styles that have risen in society, have had an abundant
effect on the way many people dress and act. Some influential figures that are the first ones to
start a spark to light a rise in a trend, are most likely popular or famous people that appear on
magazine covers or TV. But not only do famous people influence different trends, the past years
of unique culture place a different meaning on the next decades rising trend. The styles and
trends you see today, have all evolved from some of the first people to set foot on America.
When early settlers arrived from England, their style of clothing was simple and was mostly
made out of wool or linen. Women always wore long skirts and dresses that kept themselves
preserved. Men on the other hand, usually wore a linen button down shirt, saggy pants, and
stockings. The earliest styles are very different then what you see in society today, women were
more preserved and men kept their cloths simple and basic. Contrasting with early American
clothing styles, the 1900s was full of unique styles and trends that developed for men and women.

policies, the way people act does too. With different dance styles and music styles coming with
the decades, it can interfere with the laws that violate these kinds of actions. These two examples
show how when a new trend violates a law or policy, usually there are some modifications to the

What Is The Loss Of Identity In King Lear
Certainly, King Lear is one of William Shakespeare s most tragic plays in which the complexity
of the plot can be very intriguing. One major aspect of this play is about identity and how these
identities can determine your path in life. Identity can either do people good or have a negative
impact on someone s life. There are two types of identity that this play focuses on: identity lost and
identity abandoned. In the case of this play, King Learand Edgar are two of the major characters
that play a major part with identity and how it affects both their lives in different ways. In King

how they have deceitfully stripped him of his identity. However, his absurdity also reveals how
his identity is currently vacant and how he uses all this negative emotion and madness to fill in

The Violence Of Black Americans Essay
Who are we? What defines us? In America, we are defined by our class, what we do and most
importantly how we look. Since the birth of our nation, a notion of race has been rooted to our
core personas. In fact it can enforce stereotypes of class and careers. It is evident that Black
Americans are un proportionally living in poverty and without easy access to achievement. This
harsh reality is not helped by our media driven society. In a world so heavily integrated with
mass media hysteria, we scroll past posts that can have the countering effects of degradation or
empowerment through our identities. While movements of Black Power can be painted through
media, it also not hard to see the difference between the ways in which Black Americans are
manipulated within the lens of media. They are portrayed as fitting a certain stereotype
uneducated, violent and intriguingly exotic. For example, while women in general face the
enemy of sex sells , black women have this experience intensified. These women are portrayed as
exotic sexual beings. They are objectified and degraded with the intent of women of color being
seen as sexually gratifying, but nothing more. The parallels to the mindset one hundred years ago
is uncanny black women, black men and black children are seen as objects to appropriate and use
for the media s benefit. We can see this through our some of our greatest stars. Miley Cyrus, the
Kardashians and even Justin Timberlake have taken a culture and twisted

Employment Laws The European Union hopes to improve the working and living conditions of
members of the EU as well as achieve social progress through enforcing their employment laws
(Labor). The employment laws of the EU are primarily put forth in the Treaty on the Functioning
of the European Union and are overall quite employee friendly when compared with the laws of
other countries outside of the EU. The treaty forms the detailed basis of European Union
employment law by stating the EU s authority to legislate and the principles of law in the areas
where the EU law operates. The European Union labor law focuses on two specific areas. One
being working conditions which deals with working hours, part time/fixed term work, and posting
of workers. The other being the act of consulting and informing workers about things such as
transfers of companies and decisions by employers to lay off a group of employees (Labor). In
addition, the European Union employment laws cover individual labor rights, anti discrimination
regulations, rights to information and participation at work, and rights to job security. The
employment laws of the European Union have various differences and similarities to many of the

Choosing A Major And An Idea Of A Career
Choosing a major and an idea of a career you want to pursue, is not an easy choice. There is a lot
of thinking that goes into deciding what you want to study and what you want to become in the
future. Most people are not positive even once they have entered college as to what it is for sure
they want to do. This MyPlan assessment was extremely informative in what my skills were and
how I could use them. Going to the Career Center on February 5 really helped me to understand
what my results meant and what I could take out of this assessment. We took four tests, a
personality, personal interest, skills, and values test. For my personality test report, there were 4
different categories looked at to come up with a combined census of what my personality is.
You were either, extroverted or introverted, sensor or intuitive, thinker or feeler, and judger or
perceiver. My results showed that I was ESTJ. Which means that I am extroverted, sensor,
thinker, and a judger. Extroverts basically respond very well to social gatherings and like to be
around people. They are usually very talkative and tend to work well in teams. Sensors seek
specific answers to specific questions. Usually they do not have a very wide imagination and are
more realistic. Thinkers believe that it is important to be right and honest with themselves than it is
to be liked. A thinker seeks fairness and tend to be tough minded. Judgers appreciate organizations,
punctuality, order, schedules, etc. Judgers tend to

is disappointing to see Rev. Dorset turned away Sargent, especially during the depression. A

Influence Of Cognitive Biases On Decisions
The influence of cognitive biases on decisions Society once had a conjecture that only
discriminatory people used stereotypes, however, studies in unconscious bias now reveal that
we all are guilty of using stereotypes, all the time, without knowing it. Finally, the antagonist of
equality has been found, and it is us. With a limited perspective, we all have a bias view of the
world, this is because we are only capable of hearing, seeing, and reading what is around us. A
definitive version of reality is not subject to one person. Our position in society helps inform our
world view, such as, our race, class, gender, religion, and culture, impacting how we view,
respond and react to every experience. Often times, decision makers or not aware of their bias,
which can effect the decisions being made. To begin, I will define stereotyping as it is expressed
in modern society and the impact of mass media, then I will explain the process of storing
stereotypes in the brain, I will give a theory of why man kind stereotypes, and then explain how it
effects decision making. Stereotyping is one of many cognitive bias, that allows us to quickly
identify strangers as friends or enemies, and with the use of stereotypes, we classify others as we

Genetically Modified Organisms Are A Hot Topic For Debate
GMOs or Genetically Modified Organisms are a hot topic for debate. Many have taken a stand
against the genetic modifying of organisms, but what many of these people fail to realize is that
humans as a species have been modifying organisms based on genetics for thousands of years. Our
faithful companions, who were once wolves, were selectively bred based on their genes that
expressed faithfulness to humans (Rangel 10). Similarly, the corn that the world consumes today
was not the same corn grown by our human ancestors. The plants that grew tall and strong were
taken and replanted for the next season. The only difference between GMOs today and the selective
breeding of primitive humans is the random factor. Selective breeding relies on the... Show more

This study found there was no inherent increase in the amount of toxins and antinutrients found in
modified plants compared to non modified plants. Also, the amounts of toxins and antinutrients
found have no substantial effects for common human diets and can be consumed safely without
health risk.
Not only has the safety of GMOs passed extensive board review by the academies of science,
engineering, and medicine, but there is also an overwhelming support for GMOs from the
scientific community as a whole. There are currently 123 nobel laureates who have signed an
open letter of support for GMO s (Roberts, R. J., and P. A. Sharp). The letter calls upon anti gmo
organizations, specifically Greenpeace, and governments around the world to embrace GMOs and
the golden rice project. The golden rice project is a non profit humanitarian project which aims to
modify the rice plant to contain vitamin A. Their goal is to save people in third world countries
who lack the proper micronutrients due to their dependendence on rice in their diet. Vitamin A
deficiency is extremely common among the poor whose diets consist of easy to grow plants, like
rice, but Greenpeace and other anti gmo organisations have campaigned hard against the golden rice
project. It is a crime against humanity to fight against the golden rice project when it has potential
to help the 250 million people currently

Jane Austen s Death On The Nile Essay
Society throughout time has held particular values close to their hearts, which people are expected
to respect at all times, though many do not necessarily agree with them. Death on the Nile, written
by Agatha Christie in 1937, is about many upper middle and upper class families enjoying a cruise
until a murder occurred, and the story revolves around the murder case being solved alongside the
different family values and perspectives around the case. Pride and Prejudice, written by Jane
Austenin 1813, tells the story of Elizabeth Bennet, and her relationships between her family and
families beyond her class and the issues that arise between the different class statuses. Agatha
Christie and Jane Austen have similar perspectives on the values that the upper class hold dear,
such as gender roles, importance of social statusand reasons for marriage.
Agatha Christie and Jane Austen both reveal the expectations for women in their novels in terms
of behaviour and knowledge. Christie shows through her male characters what the male dominant
society expects of women. Simon Doyle is a character who demonstrates the typical man in
society, and views women in a way where they must follow certain rules and behave in a sane,
collected manner, for [t]here s no reason why women shouldn t behave like rational beings,
(Christie 77). Simon essentially summarizes the expectations placed on women. Women must
always be rational, always keep up a good appearance, while men are excused for

Essay on The Commercialization of Basketball
The Commercialization of Basketball
The game of basketball is changing, but not willingly or by it own doing. Corporate America has
been poking around in the petri dish containing American sports for years now, steering its path of
evolution wherever desired. The effects can easily be seen on and around the basketball court in the
form of corporate logos engrained on the floor, product advertisements everywhere from the rafters
to the programs to the scorers table, and company labels stitched into players uniforms and shoes.
Basketball, and sport in general, has become one of the most effective commercial vehicles and
marketing tools, but at what price? How has sport, both the actual competition and the viewing
experience, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why is the Target Center so saturated with these images? Entertainment. These corporations have
realized that people come to basketball games to be entertained and if their products can be
marketed in a way that promises entertainment, or presented in a way that is entertaining, then
people will pay attention, and money.
With just a flip of the 2002 2003 Minnesota Timberwolves Yearbook cover this can be seen. The
reader is immediately faced with faced with a multitude of entertainment opportunities that go far
beyond basketball. The inside of the cover presents a combination advertisement for Whirlpool
and Best Buy. The page is full of vibrant colors and centers on a mirror image of a young woman
beneath a waterfall of both water and colors. Wash Your World Clean stands out in the middle of
the page, and the slogans for the respective advertising companies also appear: Turn on the Fun and
Just Imagine (Yearbook). Perhaps somewhat ironically, each company could effectively use the
other s catchphrase. Both promise some sort of entertainment, something that fans attending a
basketball game are certainly craving. The words fun and imagine promise to fulfill what the
readers desire. Incidentally, the Turn on the Fun slogan belongs to Best Buy and Just Imagine to
Whirlpool. The page adjacent to the colorful inside cover is quite different. It has a

Research Paper On Cookies
How do you make the best cookie? My question is interesting because it s talking about what we
all eat, cookies. 13.5% of Americans admitted to eat at least 20 cookies at a time. Real estate agents
have used a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies as a trick for decades. Americans have ate 2
billion cookies each year, which it can average 300 cookies per each person each year. According
to (Stradley, 2016)the main idea about this subject is Describing the history of the cookie, where it
was discovered, the different names in each country, and also how it got its name. The name
cookie is derived from the Dutch word koekje, meaning small or little cake. Biscuit comes from
the Latin word bis coctus, which means, twice baked. In America, a cookie is described as a
thin, sweet, usually a small cake. We know as cookies are called biscuits in England and
Australia, in Spain they re galletas. Germans call them keks or Plzchen for Christmas cookies,
and in Italy there are several names to identify various forms of cookies including amaretti and
biscotti, and so on According to culinary historians, the first historical record of cookies was their
use as test cakes. A small amount of cake batter was baked to test the oven temperature. The
earliest cookie style cakes are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chocolate chip cookie was an accidental invention in 1930 by Ruth Graves Wakefield, who
ran the Toll House Inn in Whitman, Massachusetts. It happened when Wakefield discovered that
she was out of baker s chocolate when she was about to make cookies, so she substituted broken
pieces of NestlГ© s semi sweet chocolate, expecting it to melt and absorb into the dough to create
chocolate cookies. It became extremely popular that the recipe was featured on newspaper and
radio. This author concludes that chocolate chip cookies were a big deal back then, when they first

An Analysis Of Stephen Dobyns Deceptions
Secrets are precious vessels, travelling from a person s heart, out of their mouth, and into
another s ear. But sometimes, due to misplaced trust, the vessels do not stay sealed, or protected,
as they should be. Rather, they are exposed to the masses, and that person s heart is one display
for all to see and judge and interpret. Poems are the secrets of a poet s heart. When a poet writes,
it is not intended for an audience. Rather, it comes from a private place that can no longer be
suppressed. There is an overwhelming desire to tell, to reveal, that leads a poet to paper. The
paper serves as a blank space where they can express their inner desires, fears, or experiences

Tomato Plant
TOMATO PLANT 1)
Seed: Tomato seeds are small, flat and disk shaped and about 1/8 inch wide. They contain two
energy storage organs called cotyledons and an embryo encased in a hard outer shell called the
seed coat. The seed is the dormant or resting stage of the plant life cycle. When young tomato
plants are damaged, they tend to go into a dormant, survival stage in which plant growth is delayed
for a while. Frost damage is something to look out for when planting tomatoes early on in the
season. Frost damage is marked by tender, dark green spots on the leaves. Although they won t kill
the plant, frostbites will make them dormant for a while, delaying plant growth. During the
germination process, the seed absorbs moisture and nutrients ... Show more content on

They have their own definite shape and arrangement in plants according to their requirements.
Leaves trap energy from sunlight and convert it into pure compounds. For this the leaves are
arranged on the stem in a way that they are exposed mostly in the sunlight. i) Leaves help in the
process of plant cellular respiration. Plant cellular respiration carried out in the daylight is called
photorespiration, or light respiration. The plant uses a portion of the oxygen created by
photosynthesis. Since the process of photosynthesis produces more oxygen than the plant can use,
the excess is released into the air through the stomata, tiny air holes in the leaves. The plant takes
its sugars directly from what is being produced by photosynthesis. 5) Food Making: j)
Photosynthesis: the process of producing and releasing oxygen in the air. Photosynthesis is
performed by the plants to produce their own food. The process of Photosynthesis requires direct
sunlight, carbon dioxide and water (H2O). In the process of Photosynthesis, the plants decompose
the molecules of hydrogen and carbon dioxide into hydrogen, carbon and oxygen to produce
glucose which forms the source of their energy, growth and food. This involves the conversion of
stored energy of the sunlight, water and carbon dioxide into glucose which is an organic compound
and release oxygen in the process. k) Importance of photosynthesis: Plants are the only living things
that produce their own food.

Advantages Of Mid Day Naps
As a child, it is common for one to fight not to take a nap. Children do not like being told to nap.
At some point, however, often in one s teen or young adult years, one generally grows to
appreciate an afternoon nap, and even to view it as a luxury. Yet, it may still remain stigmatized
in some people s minds that napping is just for young children. In addition, in a typical adult s
daily life, he does not have time to stop his day and go take a nap for two hours. He is too busy
at work, or taking care or other responsibilities he has. In more recent years, however, researchers
have begun to observe incredible benefits to midday naps, such as improved performance, mood,

that may be cited sleep inertia and disrupted nighttime sleep. Napping for the proper amount of time
between ten and thirty minutes allows one to reap the most benefits from one s nap while avoiding
the unwanted negative effects. Sleeping between two and three PM, in an environment that is

Abstract
The Italian opera was at an ultimate high during the romantic period. Many composers came to life
during this period and became some of the most prominent composers of all time. Giuseppe Verdi
who was grown up into the opera was about to find out what famous looked like. Over five
decades he demonstrated his commitment to drama and composed 28 operas and many were a
huge hit. Nabucco(1841) and Rigoletto(1851), a couple of the most famous operas by Verdi,
provide details of how the life of Verdi was like which made these operas such a hit. One goal is to

The entertainer at the focal point of Victor Hugo s play Le return on initial capital investment s

the time. With a character delivered from a maturation of doubt, cunning, distrustfulness and
fatherly love, Verdi had a creation ready for the new sort of musical drama that he wanted most
importantly to make. To the psyche of an average nineteenth century devotee, Rigoletto s first solo
expression more likely than not appeared to be exceptionally interesting to be sure, as he would
without a doubt have expected right now a twofold aria or even an unadulterated recitative driving
us into the two part harmony with his little girl. Rigoletto s character is dealt with comparatively all
through the whole work. Subsequently, with every one of his defects, he seems to be a standout

All over the world, many people participate as players and spectators in a variety of sporting activities, creating opportunities for the marketing of a company s goods and services. An important part of the business of sports is sports marketing, which revolves around understanding consumer behavior and motivating target markets to purchase goods and services. Not only do the major leagues participate in the marketing process but so do the smaller, minor leagues do as well. Every athletic organization, big or small, needs sports marketing for its survival. Sports marketing is needed because it helps the athletic organizations obtain profit, which is needed for survival. For a promotion to be successful, it must be profitable. And to be profitable, it must enhance some, if not all, of the following goals: 1. Paid attendance, 2. Corporate tie ins, 3. Sponsor value, and 4. Media coverage (Helitzer 317). Promotions must increase the number of people at the event, or paid attendance, it also must enhance corporate tie ins, which are signs or give a ways at the stadium. Sponsor value, or the value perceived by the sponsor must also be enhanced along with media coverage. Media coverage is enhanced by sending the local or national media sources bulletins about the events or by having press conferences. A strategy that a sports marketer must use is to stagger the promotional gimmicks throughout the event. If one staggers the promotion, then the audience is always aware of the event and looking out for the promotions. Another objective of sports marketing is creating sales. The modern sports marketer is charged with one simple responsibility: to increase the sources of revenue (Westerbeek 6). This includes obtaining more sponsors ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Big Five Personality Model Of A Professional Workplace Big Five Personality Model A professional workplace is an environment that produces numerous challenging situations and if not handled correctly, could create a very unproductive organization. A well qualified employee is selected to be responsible for overseeing many aspects of a company, including difficult situations that arise between co workers. The term given to this worker is a manager; their main task in the organization is to help other employees work more effectively towards their goals. This may sound like a rather simple task, but it is very deep and layered with different difficulties. Henry Mintzberg, an internationally renowned author on business and management, broke down the tasks a manager faces into ten different roles. According to Mintzberg s managerial roles, there are three categories that break up the ten roles a manager performs: Interpersonal, Informational, and Decisional. Interpersonal encompasses figurehead, leader, and liaison. Informational includes monitor, disseminator, and spokesperson. Finally, Decisional covers entrepreneur, disturbance handler, resource allocator, and negotiator. It is clear that being a manager is a demanding job and that it requires a high level of organizational and interpersonal skills. There are numerous different research projects that have been performed in hopes to discover a new way for managers to be more effective and successful in their day to day activities. A remarkable amount of research supports that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. An Analysis Of Medea And The King Of Corinth Throughout the play, Medea, Medea proves that knowledge can destroy. She is surrounded by powerful men, but uses her intelligence as her weapon to get what she wants: revenge on Jason, her husband. She shows that physical power may not be the ultimate power that one may have, but that intellectual power can destroy what one may hold close to them. In the play, Kreon, the king of Corinth, holds his children to a higher importance than his country; Jason, Medeas husband, values his children and their status in society; and Aigeus, shows that having children would bring him great happiness. Medea is able to figure out what is most important to these three men to manipulate and cause revenge on Jason, who betrayed his vows to Medea. This eventually causes the murder of royalty as well as Jason and Medea s sons. Little does Jason know that the revenge Medea takes on him is total, as his sons, which are his legacy, are dead. Also, no one would want to marry Jason because Medea s on the loose, and can go after any woman that would pursue Jason. As Medea said, For those children [Jason] had from me he will never see alive again, nor will he on his new bride beget another child, for she is to be forced to die a most terrible death by these my poisons. Let no one think me a weak one, feeble spirited, a stay at home, but rather just the opposite, one who can hurt my enemies and help my friends (Medea, 787 793). Experiential Learning CHAPTER I THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Introduction Knowledge results from the combination of grasping (observation) and transforming reflections into action (concrete experience) (Kolb, 1894). Nursing is a practice profession. Clinical experience in the clinical setting is the integral part of the total education process for nursing students. (Estrella Cuarezma Sanchez, 1998) The clinical exposure of a student nurse is an experience that is not to be taken for granted. It is as important (if not more so) than the classroom lectures. In the field, the student nurse is allowed to experience dealing with actual patients and witnessing medical cases first hand. That is the reason why it is imperative that the student nurse make the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sheth (2008) sighted that private hospitals possesses centralized care. Therefore, student nurses are exposed to a conducive learning brought by ideal nursing practice exhibited in the health care setting. In the said type of hospital, Colladilla and Argos (2000) claimed more opportunities available both professionally and personally for its staff. Thus, student nurses in return could profit from it. Also, these hospitals are equipped with well maintained facilities, highly technologic equipment and complete medical supplies. (Johns, 2000) Thus, familiarization begins and would further evolve to learning. Adequate manpower plus limited handled patients could provide a centralized care. However, there are also disadvantages. Limited assignments are given to student nurses because they make sure they give quality care to patients due to patient s payment for services rendered. There are strict norms associated with providing health care interventions. Herewith, staffs nurses have significant liability to their patients. They can not afford to make mistakes. The NEA s decisions on budget allocations are deplorable and downright sickening, but yet it has many more issues plaguing its vile existence. Of the problems the NEA, the fact that they censor art is the most contradictory to their mission. The NEA has an obscenity clause which allows the NEA to not fund artworks that are obscene. For the good of His Kingdom and the glory that is His. So I trust Him. (Davis 256) Katie knew that through her heartache and brokenness, God was still in control. She knew He was taking care of her, and He was taking care of Jane too. The pleasure comes in here. This is the source of happiness in this situation. You as the reader are pleased and excited with the peace that Katie felt and believed through this sorrowful experience. The company is located in 30 different countries with 18 stores worldwide (Mangram, 2012, p. 296). Tesla Motors entered the automobile industry from a different approach in manufacturing automobiles. The company began designing, manufacturing, and marketing battery electric vehicles (BEVs) making Tesla the only manufacturer to sell a zero emission sports car, the Tesla Roadster (Mangram, 2012, p. 296). Tesla manufactured luxury electric vehicles such as Model S, Model X, and the soon to be released Model 3 (Eisler, 2016, p. 35). With different automobilemanufactures entering the BEV market, Tesla Motors, Inc. must conduct a SWOT analysis of the company. SWOT stands for the company s Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (Abraham, 2012, sect. 5.2). Strengths and weaknesses analyze the internal aspects of the company, whereas opportunities and threats analyze the external aspects. The SWOT assesses the strengths of Tesla Motors derived from technological advancements, global branding, and market adoption considering the BEV industry is relatively young compared to the engine powered industry (Mangram, 2012, p. 289). • 13. Short Story On April Fools Day It was a rainy April 1st when Jess was born. The irony of her being born on April Fools Day was tremendous. Why? Well, because everyone thought she was just a big old joke. Ever since she was young her parents never seemed to bother to care about her. One particular time Jess remembers is when her parents forget to wake her up to go to vacation to the Bahamas! The sad thing is they, her dad, mom, and sister, still went without her. She had to be babysat by a random babysitter while her family was out having fun. She never seemed to make any friends, no matter how hard she tried. Compared to her sister, she was a disappointment. Her sister had straight A s, played volleyball, ran track, was the homecoming queen and was also the most popular and the prettiest girl in school. On top of this, she had a major crush on the most popular boy in the school. She doesn t even understand why she likes him, she just has for the last 5 years for some reason. I mean Kevin was a shallow and a horrible person. Yet, she liked him and the reason for that is a mystery. One day, her life completely changed and I mean completely changed. She was sitting in her room and blasting her music. Her favorite singer was Taylor Swift and right now she was listening to her new hit. Then suddenly a speckle of something fell on the tip of her nose. She looked up to see glitter falling from the ceiling! Then, all the sudden a strange creature appeared. • 14. Detection And Prevention System For Cloud Infrastructure Abstract In this era of technology when everything is available at just one click; Security is a big issue. Hackers and intruders are getting smarter. There are various methods to protect the network infrastructure as well as communication over the internet, for example firewalls, encryption, and virtual private networks. Intrusion detectionis a comparatively new approach to such techniques. By using intrusion detection, we can collect and use information from acknowledged attacks and figure out if somebody is trying to attack the network/host. In this paper, we have classified different types of IDS. Also we have proposed a hybrid model for intrusion detection and prevention system for cloud infrastructure, which has improved the quality of detecting the unidentified attack via anomaly based detection along with a module which will try to diminish the number of false alarms which are generated by the system. Our proposed system finds random attacks in network and prevents these attacks automatically using the mechanism. Keywords Intrusion detection system, Security, K learning algorithm, Snort tool, Prevention, Network. Dred Scott s The Supreme Court Of The United States It has been presented to the Supreme Court of the United States of America that Mr. Dred Scott pleas for freedom from his slave master, Mr. Sanford. Initially Mr. Scott was owned by Dr. Emerson until Mr. Emerson s death when Scott was sold to Mr. Sanford. Under intense scrutiny and discernment it has been decided by the Supreme Court that Mr. Dred Scott has the inalienable right to be a free citizen of the United States of America. Scott is a slave, owned by Mr. and Mrs. John Emerson since 1836. Scott currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri as of 1830. Mr. Dred Scott has presided residence in both Illinois and Wisconsin Territory, accompanied by his slaveholder. The Illinois and Wisconsin Territories are free, meaning that no man nor woman can be private property of another. Because of this, Mr. Emerson has no control nor jurisdiction over Scott. Mr. Scott resided in free territory for several years, therefore, he must leave this courtroom as a free man. Although slavery is not abolished in the South, it is abolished in both of the territories that Scott visited during his involvement with Mr. Emerson, making it his right to be free. It is of the slaveholder s duty to not enter the territories of Illinois and Wisconsin expecting his slave to maintain in his possession. The responsibility is left on Mr. Emerson and it is due to his ignorance that his slave will gain freedom today. The more I thought on the subject the more I realized that there must be a way to understand J. Collinse s concepts if not fully at least partially. Once I started reading the book about ten or so pages in the process it all his ideas started to flood in and make a gigantic impression. It would be sacrilegious not to mention at least 80% of his videos but since assignment calls for 2 I chose the ideas that were the most impactful. A quick search in Google will yield hundreds of thousands search results for motivational speakers. And in my opinion one thing that unites them all is the idea that disciple will provide the opportunity to choose greatness. As a younger adult I always was deathly mortified of driving big cars, but life had a different plan for me. At around age of 23 24 I was employed by a valet company and part of the duties were to drive big cars. For several months I would ask my coworkers to perform my duties of driving all the big cars that needed valet services. It was not until several month later, when one of my coworkers told me: Jay get in that truck, take your time, concentrate and drive that truck like you own it and long behold I did it. This was the pivotal point for a change, since that day I would fight my coworker for the opportunity to drive big trucks. I chose to be not afraid, I chose to be better valet and I chose to challenge my self. It did take many months of practice (without any accidents) until I was comfortable enough to drive a 6 ton truck as easily and efficiently as a 2 ton sports car. Computer Case Study I recently began to venture into computer gaming and in seeing the pros and cons of building your own system versus buying a prebuilt, decided that I was going to build my own computer. With no sound foundation in this new venture I decided that I was going to learn as much as I could about each component before making such a big investment and quite possibly, immediately breaking it. After looking at a few different pieces of equipment, I found myself looking at the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit). This sparked my... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both in cost of product, stock prices and even the supply as well. Over the last few years, computer enthusiast saw a dramatic shift in prices for GPUs. The biggest spike in price comes from cryptocurrency mining. At the height of the cryptocurrency mining craze, GPU cards were being sold for up to triple what they were being sold just weeks prior. A great example of this was the Asus ROG Strix RX 580 which before June of 2017, cost about around the $300 price tag. On June 6th, 2017 it hit its highest price and topped at an astonishing $849.99. This was because of the massive demand for graphics cards and this caused a shortage that has just recently started to relax as more graphics cards can be found on the market for more reasonable prices. The equilibrium was completely askew with the extreme demand with not enough supply. Now that cryptocurrencies have started to settle with not as many mass purchases, we see prices across the board coming down. With more and more interest in A.I, the GPU finds itself at the center of its progress. GPUs are taking over the process that CPU s once held as the computation powerhouse for A.I as it is able to offer more cores to enable faster learning in certain areas of the A.I field. The Parents Role in School Shootings Essay When children commit a horrible act such as a school shooting their parents often look for someone or something to blame rather than looking at what role they, as parents, may have had in the tragedy. A large portion of the information that follows in the next two chapters refers to IT related development and projects. That being said, Agile is not limited to IT and in fact the model is expanding well beyond strictly IT. Agile is a necessary and effective part of the evolution of project. As stated previously, in today s environment traditional or plan driven Project Management typically defines project success as delivering on time, within budget, and meeting requirements . In order to meet this definition of success, we have matured project management processes to try and manage what is a natural occurrence: chaos. In the past, the folly of this approach was less apparent, as the speed of change was significantly less. In today s business environment, it is much more obvious. In traditional project management we are asking the customer to define requirements early in the process, assuming the right people are in place and have the ability to foresee what the business will look like in the future. We then use those requirements to build the product and typically either avoid change or make the change process so difficult it is not worth the effort. The unintended outcome is that approach removes creativity and flexibility from the development process. This drive to create a self fulfilling prophecy will deliver a product sometime in the future that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Over the last two centuries, expansion in large scale industrialisation and western populations has been associated with diet changes; Australians now consuming less omega 3 (Black Dog Institute, 2012). Omega 3, a polyunsaturated fatty acid, has various forms; Alpha Linolenic acid (ALA), Docosahexanoic acid (DHA) and Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Raeder, Steen, Vollset, and Bjelland s (2006) experimental study demonstrated that subjects who regularly consumed cod liver oil, rich in omega 3, were 30% less likely to develop depressive symptoms; however a causal link could not be made. It is not a secret that not all homes are perfect, but a structured environment can lead to healthy study habits. Now the same can happen in a school environment for some children. So, in turn, those children can start to act out for the stress that comes with a school environment. When there is a healthy home environment, these children would be comfortable and be able to focus on the task at hand. Another reason a child might not misbehave is because they know the consequences for their actions at home. When a child is in a public school, there might not be much that can be done when a child misbehaves and does something that is wrong. One of the biggest influences for children in public schools is other children. Almost everything children do is to look cool in front of their friend or to be popular. Children will tend to misbehave when their friends are pressuring them to do so. Peer pressure is a hard thing to deal with for a child. When children are home schooled, there is much less pressure to be cool and there is more time to focuses on classwork. Now one of the last things that parents worry about for their children is how their social skills will develop if they are home schooling their children. Most people would argue that the children are not developing the social skills needed, because they do not interact with other children their own age. The University of Florida s Larry Shyers, ... Hughes illustrates the reasons people do no like the Church today. Rev. Dorset, white or black, should have had compassion for Sargent. It is disappointing to see Rev. Dorset turned away Sargent, especially during the depression. A follower is a reflection of his/her leader and that is why everyone ignored and refused to help Sargeant. A Church has always been the place where anyone can be accepted. Christ says: They have kept me nailed on the cross for nearly two thousand years(619). This line symbolizes the stumbbling blocks that a congregation can cause to an individual. Although the congregational members have the power, their power was not enough to keep the Church together. Influence Of Cognitive Biases On Decisions The influence of cognitive biases on decisions Society once had a conjecture that only discriminatory people used stereotypes, however, studies in unconscious bias now reveal that we all are guilty of using stereotypes, all the time, without knowing it. Finally, the antagonist of equality has been found, and it is us. With a limited perspective, we all have a bias view of the world, this is because we are only capable of hearing, seeing, and reading what is around us.
