peripheral nervous system (PNS) that controls involuntary processes in the body

2014). The ANS is divided into two branches, the sympathetic nervous system (SN)
and the parasympathetic nervous system (PN). The SN is responsible for the fight or
flight response, which results in increased preparedness for vigorous activity in

produces the opposite effects to those of the SN. Under normal circumstances, the

The Day I Had A Patient With Septic Shock
I completed my seventh and eighth shift during the nights of !0/14 and 10/28.
Both nights I had a fairly heavy patient load caring for four patients each night. The
census on the unit was also relatively high. The first night I had a patient with

near syncope, a woman with CHF exacerbation and hypoxemia, and finally a
woman with hematuria with a history of chronic kidney disease stage III. The

Bonus packs are quite useful in that they engage the consumer for an extended and
possibly more frequent time period. The six objectives of bonus packs include (1)
an increase in usage of the product, (2) match or preempt competitive actions, (3)
stockpile the product, (4) develop customer loyalty, (5) attract new users and (6)

To begin, the type of conflict in the Wizard of Oz is person versus self. To start, in
the movie The Wizard of Oz during the initial incident, Dorothy ends up in the
tornado, then Oz. Dorothy has always wanted to go somewhere over the rainbow, and
there she is. However, she would later have many other emotions that aren t just
happiness. In addition, during the climax scene, Dorothy accidentally melts the witch.
The Lion, the Tin Man, and the Scarecrow get what they wanted from the Wizard.
Throughout their adventures in Oz, Dorothy realized that she just wanted to go
home. Her homesickness caused emotions that motivated her to go home, and
sometimes her emotions brought the worst out of her. Last, in the denouement,
Dorothy finally made it home, and she was in a coma the whole time. Now that
Dorothy is home, the conflict is resolved because that is what she wanted all along.

to cry because of it. He had to have a heart if he felt bad about killing just a little
bee. Second of all, when Dorothy fell asleep in the poppy field the Tin Man starts

Critical Chain by Eliyahu Goldratt was very similar to his previous novel entitled The
Goal in the point that it elaborated on many concepts that were used to create
improvements in the business world. Some of these concepts included a detailed
explanation of the theory of constraints, bottlenecks and project time management.
The novel tells a story about a professor by the name of Rick Silver whose goal is to
attain tenure in the University s School of Business. In doing so he was given the
opportunity to teach an executive graduate business course for management
professionals. He used the course to introduce a host of business methodologies and
philosophies that can produce success if used correctly, most importantly time
management and theory of constraints. The novel also gives insight on how fast and
constant the business industry is changing by highlighting the issue of falling
enrollment rates at the University s School of Business.
Professor Silver ask his students to select a project and interview various people
who are directly or supposed to be directly involved in the project to determine the
reason for increase in project expense and the inability to finish timely. Most of the
students responded with reports that stated many projects have overruns because the
project team is given unrealistic schedules, unreliable vendors, and lack of trained
personnel. Professor Silver claims that the reason for overruns is task time estimates.
He uses probability distribution graph to explain that uncertainties are important to
consider when determining the probability of finishing a project. He states that a
project should add safety or otherwise known as slop to increase the length of time
for the project s completion assuring that the project will be completed on time.
Adding safety or slop to a project will ensure that there is more than enough time to
complete a task and encourages multitasking.
Johnny, a professor at the University who recently returned from a sabbatical from
