Nurse Residency
Even in management, critical thinking is essential to having an effective organization. Nurse
managers who are adept at using critical thinking and have the habits of mind of a critical thinker
are in a good position to assume a leadership role and create the changes that will achieve positive
outcomes in healthcare organizations (Zori, Morrison, 2009 p.79).
RECOMMENDATIONS
Hospitals and health care organizations need to provide their team members and management
educational opportunities to improve their critical thinking skills. Nurses with higher degrees
should be put in management positions. Nurse Residency and other things that help with nurse
retention need to remain intact and continue to ask what makes nurses happy at their ... Show more

Nurses are the largest number of employees at healthcare organizations. Nurses are what make the
hospital able to achieve organizational effectiveness. Hospitals need to maintain and respect the
value of their nurses. Without the nurses hospitals would not exist in all the capabilities that they
are achieving today. Nurses are the heart and soul of the hospital. Healthcare institutions need to
make their place of work attractive to nurses. There will continue to be a shortage of nurses and the
success of the healthcare facility depend upon the ability to have the right amount of nurses
working at the facility. In order to make the business attractive the facility must offer benefits such
as healthcare, insurance, and tuition reimbursement.
They must make the nurses happy who work there by finding out what they want such as a
certain amount of pay, holidays off, and not working swing shifts. Very rarely does anyone in any
profession want to work a swing shift of days and nights. This is one way to retain the nurses the
organization have. Plus working different shifts is not good on the body of the individuals working
the shift. If you have the right amount of employees you do not want them calling in sick due to a
wakened immune system from working a swing

01 08 2015 Scenario 1: Part AFredrick Frobel believed that children learn when they are lively
and free. He also believed that children s education should be based on their interests and their
active involvement. An activity using Frobel s parquet gifts for 3 5 year olds would need to be
simple enough that they would be able to manipulate the pieces involved and complex enough to
challenge their minds. To start our activity I would take thin pieces of wood about 10x10 inches. I
would outline a very simple drawing of different animals on the pieces of wood. The children can

Scenario 3: Letter Formation Drills Letters don t have to be precise and artistic; they should be
fairly constant and readable. They should not float like a balloon or sink below the line and
should be formed from the top and not the bottom. Practice forming letters with letter formation
drills promotes reading and writing for all children. Children with a visual impairment may have
the materials modified. Use brightly colored pens with a black contrasting paper. Enlarge all
workbook pages and lined paper, double lines work well for children with visual impairment. For
children with epilepsy traditional approaches need to be modified. Some student struggle with
motor skills as a result of their epilepsy and they are especially vulnerable to inattention and work
incompletion. Further breaking down the letters into simpler steps has been proven to promote
writing skills in a child with epilepsy. A few easy steps can be taken to ensure the classroom is
suitable for hearing impaired students. When possible, turn off equipment that creates background
noises, such as fans and projectors, when not in use. Eliminating extra noise helps students with
hearing impairments focus on the class lecture and assignments. Remember that hearing aids
amplify every sound, including tapping pencils and air conditioners. Area rugs and heavy curtains
can also eliminate a great deal of extraneous noise. Stephany Armstrong AC1406981 E01 Careers In

Pro-Consent Essay
The three main aspects of politics, religion and the women s right to choose go into the different
arguments over the debates of abortion. One of the movements which is pro life which is against
the legalization of abortion. Another main movement is pro choice which believes that if the fetus
is a person then the women can t if the abortion. However, pro consent believes that the women
have a right to choose to consent to the condition of pregnancy or obtain an abortion (McDonagh,
23). Pro consent supports the rights of all living beings. People in the general public in non
similar situations should not have a right to decide a woman s right to abort a child. A woman
may choose an abortion if she is unable to care for a child... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The reality becomes that all of Americans and most Catholics are in favor of legal abortions.
However, 81% want abortion reduction which seems odd; but proves how religious views
influence politics (Cahill, 188). In the Supreme Court ruling Roe vs. Wade made abortion legal
because of single minded determination being questioned. Meanwhile, that may be the very thing
that will reverse it (Cahill, 188 89). Political candidate have to relate to the catholic bipartisan party
in order to win an election. This undermines the idea of the separation of church and state.
The general public believes that no child should live in unsafe circumstances. That means no fetus
should be knowingly born into an unhealthy environment. George Tiller stated that, Abortion is a
matter of survival for women (Young, 416). For example, a father raped and impregnated his nine
year old daughter. The clarity that the nine year old would be unfit mother and not developed
enough to go through pregnancy is evident (Young, 416 17). This coincides with Judith Jarvis
Thomson s opinion of Pro Consent.
A very vocal anti abortion protester stated for a video camera that he believed all fetuses should
be born, although, he was divorced and legally found as an unfit parent (Young, 419). This is a
prime example of unknowledgeable activists who argue that women should be forced to keep the
babies by the state should take care of the babies they could not support. However, a

Essay on Grand Theft Auto IV
A.Introduction
In Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA IV), you play the role of an Eastern European immigrant who has
come to Liberty City to visit his self proclaimed successful cousin, Roman. After making the
journey, Niko finds that his cousin is actually stuck in a cycle of debt and struggle and has been
lying about his large mansion and beautiful women. After spending some time with Roman, Niko
finds that his cousin is being harassed by local loan sharks. Niko must commit illegal activities for
the loan sharks in order to eradicate Roman s debt. As a result, he must enter the underground
world of drugs and violence. Soon after, Roman discovers that his girlfriend is cheating on him
with Niko s boss, Vlad, and is heartbroken. When Niko ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the game comes to a conclusion, the player is asked to make one more moral decision. Niko
has the option of either working with Dimitri Rascalov, a man who sold him out to a Russian
crime lord, or killing Dimitri. If Niko works with Dimitri, he tries to kill Niko at Roman s wedding,
and accidentally kills Roman. If Niko takes revenge on Dimitri and kills him, Niko s business
partner kills Roman s wife for thwarting his plan. Whichever path the player takes, the game
concludes with Niko killing the man who killed his loved one. Although both endings are very
tragic, they are representative of the huge sacrifices immigrants face and the price they must pay to
achieve the American dream.
B.Elements Perhaps the most important element of the revenge theme is the outcome of the
revenge. In GTA IV, Niko is given many opportunities to take revenge on those who have
wronged him. Each time Niko killed a man who wronged him or his family, he ended up
suffering. When Niko killed Vlad, Niko and Roman were kidnapped and forced to work for their
lives. By taking revenge on Darko, Niko does not actually change anything. He finishes his
decade long quest but he is still void on the inside. If art is created to help people draw parallels
to their life and learn a lesson, the entire purpose of the revenge theme is to demonstrate that
getting even does not work as well as it may seem. The player is shown multiple times that taking
revenge does not

the parent knows what the child is learning and can help the child with problems in academic and

The types of good involvement are the types that help out the child in school, with homework or

the child (parent involvement, 79). It was anticipated that adult engagement would be certainly
affiliated to preliteracy development (Parent involvement, 78). There are times when the parents
want to be involved, but do not have the time to be involved when they have long work hours or
cannot help the child due to transportation issues. The school systems are trying to fix this issue, by
having phone conversations with the parents and asking them to help at home with tasks that are

Ocd Case Study Abnormal Psychology
Well everyone suffers from one thing or another. A man named Melvin and a young lady named
Tara are no different. Both of them suffer from an Obsessive compulsive disorder. There disorder
may have the same name but the way they respond to their disorder is quite different.
Tara Sullivan is a fourteen year old who lives in a suburb in Chicago with her mother and father.
She has four childhood friends named Keesha, Donna, Anna, Kristin. Tara suffers from a self
diagnosed OCD.
Melvin Udall lives in a apartment in New York alone. He does not have any familymembers
around. The closest thing he has to friends is Simon Bishop who is his gay artist who is also his

The only people that Melvin associates with is Simon his neighbor and Carroll the waitress and the
dog Verdell. Accept he is not very friendly with them.
Tara counts the cracks and refuses to step on them because she feels it will break her mother s
back. She counts the cracks on her way to school every morning if she is interrupted she repeats it
until she gets it right.
Melvin locks his door and unlocks door until he counts to five. He thinks out loud without any
filter. Is afraid of change he does not like other people being in his apartment at first.
Tara s OCD drifts her friends away from her and to her throughout the entire book the only friend
that seems to stick with her is Donna until she gets sent away by her parents. Her other friends
are ashamed to be friends with her at certain parts of the book. Her parents are driven to drink.
Tara does not make it easy for them to be happy so they both turn to drinking. Because they are so
worn out from Tara. They also resort to arguing a lot.
Melvin does not have any friends or family around for the simple fact that he is rude to everyone
he meets. Melvin makes Simon upset during most of the movie saying hateful things to him
because Melvin does not like the fact that Simon is gay. He upsets Carroll about talking about her

Paper My view of the poem Balthazar s Marvelous Afternoon written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
is absolutely entertaining. Balthazar is a carpenter who takes pride in building a bird cage for a
young boy. The time and effort put into making this bird cage has great morality results for
Balthazar. Being the most beautiful bird cage people in the village has ever seen, Balthazar s
pride and extravagant praise boosts up and he is full of confidence. Ready for delivery and
payment Balthazar takes it over to the boys house and finds out the parents do not approve or such
request made by their young son. Deeply devastated by the refusal of the boys parents Balthazar...

Finally he thinks about the beautiful cage he made and how bad the young boy wanted it so he
decides to give it to him without any payment, leaves and gets drunk with some people from the
village. This Marvelous Afternoon might not have turned out as expected but in reality the
marvelous thing about it in my opinion is him being selfless and thinking about the young boy.
From the beginning to the end of this short story he is well aware that the bird cage cannot
belong to anyone but the person who requested it. The loyalty and dedication to clients in his
business offers uniquely created products built from his heart. In the Poem 5000 Apply for 100
jobs by Jim Daniels, many can relate to this situation. People all over the Country are
unemployed now in days and are willing to get any job they can to feed their families. This
poem is somewhat of similarities with the first poem in a way that the person telling his
experience is grateful for what he has. He is in line trying to find a better opportunity but is told
to leave because all jobs have been filled. Once given the bad news some are upset as to be violent
and swear. Although he is saddened by the news of not being one of the hundred chosen to work
there, he quickly realizes that it is not as bad as he though. He still has a job even if it does not pay
him well but he is able to

Real Estate And Social Media

Real Estate Sales and Social Media In this chapter, I will trace the evolution and development of
real estate websites and social media. Specifically, I will address how real estate was marketed
prior to the internet, the introduction of social media, and the evolution of real estate websites and
social media throughout the years.
Real Estate Marketing Prior to the Internet Before the introduction of the internet as a marketing
tool for real estate agents, the deciding factor of an agent s success relied solely on their sphere of
influence and knowledge of the market. The more contacts an agent had, the greater the ability to
receive business referrals and customers on a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allowed agents to not only market their listings but find future clients as well.
Real Estate Websites There is a wide array of websites available to real estate agents to market
their listings. These include popular websites such as Zillow, Trulia, Realtor, MLS, The New
York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and many more. MLS, or the multiple listing service, is an
innovative content management system that serves as a means for organizing and advertising
listings. Once a listing is entered by an agent, it is then uploaded to the local MLS website and
displayed for viewing by consumers who are searching online. Most MLS providers then feed this
listing to other real estate websites such as the ones previously mentioned. Once a listing expires, it
is then automatically removed from all websites until relisted. Another innovative website designed
with the consumer in mind is Zillow. Zillow shows the property history and value estimate for all
homes, not just the ones listed for sale, in a given area. Although not completely accurate, it gives
homeowners and prospective buyers a chance to see what s available and more importantly what
isn t. Homeowners now have the power to estimate the value of either their home or other homes in
the area which can potentially eliminate the need for an agent.

360 Degree Photography Affordances and Constraints
Media has changed vastly over the decades. We have different styles of media, different ways to
view media, and so many different options when it comes to creating media. A recent technology
that has started to gain traction is 360 degree photography. This new technology allows people to
view more than traditional 2 D perspective. With this new way of being able to capture a scene
comes many affordances and constraints.
Being able to capture everything around you, then allow another person to experience entirely the
same scene is something that has never been able to be done before. The technology for 360

Having devices that allow us to put on a headpiece and be put into another reality is a huge step for
media.
With these devices, unfortunately, come many constraints. The content creator has more options
for what the viewer can see, but at the same time it may not be what they want the viewer to see.
In most forms of media today there is a main point that the viewer is observing. 2 D perspective
video creators are able to change perspectives of how the viewer sees the media, but with 360
degrees the viewer may not see it in the same way the original creator intended. The viewer may
even miss main points entirely because they were looking around and the main point of a video was
behind them. On top of this the viewer may not even be able to watch the video. Many people
report nausea when watching videos in 360 degrees. If there is not a way to ensure people do
not feel sick while watching the videos, that means that this media will be limited by the
number of people who are able to tolerate it. Being able to create the quality of content that is
currently available on 2 D platforms may be difficult could also be an issue. Movie shoots
require a lot of people and equipment, which is all behind the camera when only shooting one
perspective. In a 360 movie you have to make sure you are capturing the things you want and
nothing more. There is most likely going to be more work creating

Anti-Depressants Essay Examples
Anti depressants can damage men s sperm Anti depressants are something that many people take.
Not only do they help with depression issues, but they can also help with others. For example,
many people take these types of medications to help with certain health conditions, like ADHD and
anxiety as well. While these types of medications are extremely effective at treating issues like
these, they can actually be pretty harmful to other parts of the body. For example, anti depressants
have actually been shown to damage men s sperm. What do they do? When men take anti
depressants, studies show that both ejaculation and erectile function are affected. But, along with
this concern, men also suffer from changes to the genetic makeup of their sperm... Show more

Many people are taking anti depressants because of serious concerns to their health. When you
stop taking them, you will no longer have protection from these issues. Instead, talk to your
doctor about alternatives that you can try. For example, there may be a different type of
medication that doesn t affect your sperm as much. Or, you may need to only stop taking the
medication for a short period of time so some of your healthy sperm can be taken for fertility
treatment purposes. Regardless of the decision you and your doctor make, it is important that
you are taking care of your health. When you become overly stressed or unhealthy, your sperm
may also be adversely affected. This could make it even harder to conceive with your partner,
even if you are no longer taking the anti depressants. There are some things you can do to
increase your chances of conceiving. For example, make sure you and your partner are eating
healthy foods and exercising regularly. Keeping a healthy body is the best way to make sure

Some think that people should have to wait until they re 18 to get their driver s license because
teens shouldn t have that type of responsibility, but others think that teens should be able to get
their license at 16 because of school and jobs. First off teenagers should be able to get their

different places that people admire, whether it is close or far. My favorite place that i ve been to is
the big island of hawaii. Although I don t go to hawaii that often ,it is still a special place to me .
The first and obvious reason why the Big island of hawaiiis my favorite place is because its far
away from the mainland. The other 49 states are both unique and interesting in their own
way. However on the east coast, life can be stressful and busy. In places like NYC and philly
drivers always needs to be somewhere and can t relax or take their time. Not to mention its

Jacques Piccard would be the first person to the bottom of the Marianas Trench, the deepest
point on the ocean floor. This diving bell, the Trieste, was his invention, but he had only gone
down to five km off the coast of Italy. Now he, and Lt. Don Walsh, had to go descend nearly
eleven. What would take minutes to fall in air took them five hours. Every ten meters, the
pressure increased one atmosphere. Leading biologists knew nothing could live in such harsh
conditions. As they descended, the light from above faded. They could still hear the surface, but
knew as their spotlight turned on that soon all sounds would cease. Nearly down, a crack shook
them from their stupor. Nothing seemed to be wrong, so they continued. When the submarine
settled on the surface, it wasn t what they expected: through the stirred up clay, they saw a
flatfish and new species of shrimp, discoveries to be disputed for years to come. But when
Jacques Piccard and Lt. Walsh discovered a crack in the porthole, they were forced to ascend after
an only twenty minute stay. The continuing project of ocean exploration is in a sense just

alas good times do not always last as next comes a blast from the past so powerful it is still felt 8
years into the future! If all those images have been conjured up in the viewer s mind, then you have
the basic plot to this foreign filmInstructions Not Included . But wait there is more I promise.
Firstly, I would like to say that overall the film by all standards was not at all bad. When one
thinks of a foreign film you might think of a really bad, poorly edited, or low funded film. With
the major reason for it being foreign, the obvious reason being that it was not made in
Hollywood. However, this movie takes all of the preconceptions about foreign films and turns it
upside down. With a budget of nearly 5 million dollars (Instructions), and only being filmed in
two locations in Mexico the movies overall quality is actually quite astounding. Furthermore, I
would like to commend the directors and editors on doing Hollywood level job, creating and
making the final product as it is better then something you might see in a low budget jaws knock
off made here in the United States. Secondly I would like to write something of a quick summary
so that the movie can be better understood. The movie begins as many do as of late with a man, or
to be more specific a bachelor. Of course

Why ShouldnT Tommy And Jim Have Sex John Corvino Analysis
John Corvino s article Why Shouldn t Tommy and Jim Have Sex? (Shafer Landau 209 222) is
the material I have chosen to review for my final analysis paper. Homosexuality has been
something that has plagued my generation with confusion and doubt. I grew up at the tail end of
the AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) epidemic and can remember when major
news networks were blaming homosexuals for the rapid spread of this particular disease. I have
also seen the passing of many pro gay rights acts and in many ways this was my generation s civil
rights advancement for future generations. This topic has been very controversial for many years
and each generation has their own personal view on the matter and I think Corvino did an excellent

Like most couples Corvino assumes that they must engage in sexual activity for the same reason
that any heterosexual couple would that it is pleasurable. Sex can help unite a couple and open an
avenue of growth that would only help to strengthen the bond between two people.
One of the first major argument is that it is unnatural , Corvino easily dismisses this argument
because under that explanation nothing is normal not clothing, organized religion or governments.
The only thing that would be natural would be nature. In nature there are some species that do
engage in homosexual activity. So by this natural standard it could not be used to reject Tommy and
Jim.
Another argument against homosexuals is that it is harmful to society through the spread of
sexually transmitted diseases (STD), by denying population growth and how it harms our
youth. The first issue is addressed by simple process of elimination if homosexual males are at
the highest risk of getting an STD and lesbian women at the lowest risk. Than Corvino is able to
challenge the argument by concluding that if you are only choosing a partner based on risk of
disease than women should only be with other women as the risk is the lowest. However most
people do not chose a partner based on these principles. As for the issue of not having sex for only
procreation purposes is absurd. Even the Catholic church prohibits sex during pregnancy and for
pleasure

Duke Lacrosse Theory
The Duke Lacrosse team s story illustrates how a single lie can set off a storm of racial and status
related tension that has been simmering for years. The events that took place can be best described
by the ideas associated with the Conflict Theory Approach to socialization. The clash of white
versus black, rich versus poor, and privileged or entitled versus normal, made this the perfect
opportunity for media outlets to shed light on this idea of entitlement in society. Ultimately, turning
what was supposed to be a criminal investigation into a full on status war within Durham, North

Halloween was special for a number of reasons. Firstly, it was only the one I shared with Stacey.
I also received a record amount of sweets, money and fruit. I could not believe my luck. I think it
was down to Stacey s charm (even if she was Cruella Devil) or my not so genius, John Higgins
impersonation. That night just proved to be special. Stacey and I shared jokes, threw away
monkey nuts and knocked on over 100 doors. After it was decided we should go home, we started
our chocolate. Fireworks were being lit in my estate and were somewhat spectacular. I distinctively
remember hugging Stacey and being ecstatic. It seemed as though life was perfect. The fireworks
stopped.
Stacey suffered from really bad asthma. I know many people suffer from asthma and the severity
is wide ranging. I also know it s very rare for someone to die from an attack. Medicines are readily

Oskar Schindler Essay
The Holocaust was a dark time in world history. Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals and more were
killed and cremated by the hands of the Nazis. There were a few, however, that fought the views
of Adolf Hitler and attempted to save some of the victims of his cruelty. One of the greatest of
these is Oskar Schindler. Oskar Schindlerhas been described as a crook, an alcoholic, and an
insatiable womanizer. All of this may very well be true, but this factory owner was a hero to many
Jewish men, women, and children. When those Jews were shipped to the concentration camp

Currently observed increase in the number of crimes related to violence, especially among

The Commodification And Objectification Of Women In Mass...
The commodification or objectification of women in mass media has long sorted history. The
concept of a commodity and the word itself changes meaning when dealt with in various capital
industries which engage in trade. For the purpose of exploration, the meaning of commodity shall
be narrowed down to an economic good, that is subject to ready exchange or exploitation within a
market .
A trend that is developing in entertainment media today is the objectification of women in society.
Specifically in indian movies, music videos, music, and television, there is strong focus on women
as sexual objects rather than women. This is detrimental to society because the media is creating
social stereotypes for both men and women that can result in unhealthy social and physical habits.
The issue is especially prevalent because the more the media uses sexual content regarding women,
the more viewers seem to buy into them. Thus, the media is able to shape the culture s sense of
dating, romance, sex, and what is ideal within society. The sexual attitudes of society are shaped
and that has effects that can affect all demographics among society.
Advertising and media images that encourage girls to focus on looks and sexuality are harmful to
their emotional and physical health. Women develop the ideal of seeing their bodies as not their
personal self, but as sexual objects. That unhealthy train of thought can develop into recurring
problems such as eating disorders, low self esteem, and

Modern and ambitious personal desires have become very distant from the old fashioned
preaching of family traditions. Because of the gap between the bases of personal desires and
family traditions, a person is left having to choose one and abandon the other. This is clearly
illustrated in The Godfather , directed by Francis Ford Coppola, by how Michael Corleone s
lifestyle completely changed when he switched from pursing his own goals to working in the family
business. Based on the ideas presented in The Godfather , it becomes clear that for an individual to
do something simply because their family wants them to can cause the person to have to throw their

what type of policy did Kennedy follow in the Cold War, and what was successful about it and
what failed.
After whining the 1960 election, John F. Kennedy proposed new tasks for the United States. During
his inauguration speech, he proposed a new challenge to his fellow Americans to Ask not what
your country can do for you ask what you can do for your country. Many Americans reacted
positively toward his challenge by working towards social justice and in joining the peace corps .

Effective Communication Analysis
One powerful component of constructive communication is the capability to be an effective
listener. Our conversations will continue to reach dead ends if we do not realize where we may
lack in our listening skills, decide to make improvements, and follow through. Therefore, we are
left with two options when we learn we do not listen well, continue to listen the way we have
been or make the conscious effort to improve and become sharpened listeners. This is one area
of my life that I was made aware of over a year ago. I do not listen! I used to listen to respond,
which was an unhealthy way to communicate. In listening to respond we are putting a higher value
to our thoughts then that of the speaker. As discussed in our text some of warnings that one may
not be a good listener is having the speaker repeat information already given, criticizing the
speakers form of giving information, breaking the conversation to give your input, either orally or
mentally, and giving the speaker the false gratification that you are listening (Hamilton. C. pp. 119,

A Report From Unesco Of A Good Education For Girls Essay
Dr. Martin Luther King once said no one is free until we are all free . This idea sounds very
simple, but it lays a profound message to many different events and issues that are happening
around us, including many big challenges to the world such as racial and ethnic discrimination.
However, there is a sub issue to those challenges that we rarely think of it as a discriminationgirls
education. By investing in a good education for girls all over the world teaching them how to
empower themselves, we are contributing to eliminate discrimination and empower the world.
A report from UNESCO in October 2013 shows some shocking statistics about girls and women
around the world. There are 1.8 billion young people in the world. Approximately half of them 900
million are adolescent girls and young women, but 62 millions girls worldwide are not in school. As
a result, they lack the basic skills for work: Two thirds of the 774 million illiterate people in the
world are female. This will have some lifelong effects. Girls will face limited opportunities and
choices in the job market. They lack basic health knowledge and will be subjected to serious
health risks, and threatened by violence. They don t know about their basic rights, so their views
and concerns are often unheard. These three effects are enough to prove that girls are
discriminated against as females Therefore, if education is the key to their future, what doors can
it open for those girls? They will be less likely

Blindness In Sophocles Oedipus The King
Oedipus Rex Essay
They say that there is no real definition of what it is to see something. We have all become
accustomed to seeing things that are right in front of us that we sometimes forget what we are
truly seeing. We tend to forget about the beauty behind certain things and we forget how lucky we
are to be able to see them. On the other hand, sometimes we try to close our eyes to the things we
hate. During a scary movie or horrific event, people may cover there eyes and choose to not see the
truth and what s really in front of them. Oedipus Rex wasn t able to see the truth, and yet Teiresias,
a blind man saw it plainly. Oedipus is known for his intelligence but chooses to be ignorant and
therefore blind to the truth about himself and his past. In Oedipus the King, Sophocles uses the
blindness motif effectively by making Oedipus blind throughout the story by his refusal to see that
the prophecy has come true, while Tiresias physical blindness allows him to see the truth. ... Show

How do we convince existing NFL fans to switch allegiance to a new London based team? I don

NFL season is 16 games long over a 17 week period. That s eight games at Wembley, and it s not
only the fans that would have to put in the mileage, it s the players too. Now, London is some
distance from the US: 3,459 miles. While travelling from America s East Coast would provide
minimal problems, travelling from the West Coast back to England would take two days out of
an already hectic week. This would definitely create a competitive disadvantage for a team that
had to travel from the west coast for this game. Lastly, there is the issue having no team that
would make this move at this time. The closes team in the thought process would be the

For a significant period of European history, there was a concerted push towards the establishment
of absolute monarchy. The absolute monarchy was the apex of the pyramid of power and influence.
Although the monarch claimed complete autocratic authority by virtue of blood, the monarchy was
only fully secured by the presence of a supportive aristocracy and a stable, established church. This
was a tripartite; the monarch, the aristocrat, and the church. Absolute monarchyis best exemplified
in the reign of Louis XIV of France. Using the French as an example, and on the basis of the

The Effects Of Sleep And Variables On Sleep
This paper will cover the scientific study of sleep and variables which impact sleep by
examining the five different stages of sleep, evaluating dreams and nightmares, assessing the
causes and effects of sleep disorders and the various types of treatments, in addition to the
effects of food and drugs on sleep. There are five stages of sleep, numbered one through four and
REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. Upon falling asleep, the brain and body goes through each
stage to comprise sleep cycle which approximately has a duration of 90 minutes. Stage One
commences when the body and brain begin to relax. During this stage, heart beat slows down,
breathing becomes regular, and blood pressure tends to decrease (Huffman. K, 2011, p.174). In
addition, brain activity starts to shift, moving from beta waves to the slower alpha waves.
Despite being deeply relaxed in this stage, it is still very easy to be awakened (Huffman. K,
2011, p.174). Following Stage 1, the mind and body move to Stage Two. In this stage the body
becomes more relaxed so it is less aware of its surroundings (Huffman. K, 2011, p.174). Short
burst of rapid brain waves known as sleep spindles, can be visually observed against the
background of an electroencephalogram (EEG) (Fogel, S. M., Nader, R., Cote, K. A., Smith, C.
T. (2007). Sleep spindles and learning potential. Behavioral Neuroscience, 121(1), 1 10).

s purpose for writing it, from Catching Fire to The Diary Of Anne Frank. It was then that I got

Since Kingdom Rock was the first play that I had ever written, I felt that Mrs. Dunlap herself

Nurse managers who are adept at using critical thinking and have the habits of mind of a critical thinker are in a good position to assume a leadership role and create the changes that will achieve positive outcomes in healthcare organizations (Zori, Morrison, 2009 p.79). RECOMMENDATIONS Hospitals and health care organizations need to provide their team members and management educational opportunities to improve their critical thinking skills. Nurses with higher degrees should be put in management positions. Nurse Residency and other things that help with nurse retention need to remain intact and continue to ask what makes nurses happy at their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nurses are the largest number of employees at healthcare organizations. Nurses are what make the hospital able to achieve organizational effectiveness. Hospitals need to maintain and respect the value of their nurses. Without the nurses hospitals would not exist in all the capabilities that they are achieving today. Nurses are the heart and soul of the hospital. Healthcare institutions need to make their place of work attractive to nurses. There will continue to be a shortage of nurses and the success of the healthcare facility depend upon the ability to have the right amount of nurses working at the facility. In order to make the business attractive the facility must offer benefits such as healthcare, insurance, and tuition reimbursement. They must make the nurses happy who work there by finding out what they want such as a certain amount of pay, holidays off, and not working swing shifts. Very rarely does anyone in any profession want to work a swing shift of days and nights. This is one way to retain the nurses the organization have. Plus working different shifts is not good on the body of the individuals working the shift. If you have the right amount of employees you do not want them calling in sick due to a wakened immune system from working a swing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Carrers In EAC Assignment 8 Essay Stephany Armstrong AC1406981 E01 Careers In Early Childhood Education Assignment 8_08 01 08 2015 Scenario 1: Part AFredrick Frobel believed that children learn when they are lively and free. He also believed that children s education should be based on their interests and their active involvement. An activity using Frobel s parquet gifts for 3 5 year olds would need to be simple enough that they would be able to manipulate the pieces involved and complex enough to challenge their minds. To start our activity I would take thin pieces of wood about 10x10 inches. I would outline a very simple drawing of different animals on the pieces of wood. The children can use the parquet shapes to fill the animal in, or to trace the outline of the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Scenario 3: Letter Formation Drills Letters don t have to be precise and artistic; they should be fairly constant and readable. They should not float like a balloon or sink below the line and should be formed from the top and not the bottom. Practice forming letters with letter formation drills promotes reading and writing for all children. Children with a visual impairment may have the materials modified. Use brightly colored pens with a black contrasting paper. Enlarge all workbook pages and lined paper, double lines work well for children with visual impairment. For children with epilepsy traditional approaches need to be modified. Some student struggle with motor skills as a result of their epilepsy and they are especially vulnerable to inattention and work incompletion. Further breaking down the letters into simpler steps has been proven to promote writing skills in a child with epilepsy. A few easy steps can be taken to ensure the classroom is suitable for hearing impaired students. When possible, turn off equipment that creates background noises, such as fans and projectors, when not in use. Eliminating extra noise helps students with hearing impairments focus on the class lecture and assignments. Remember that hearing aids amplify every sound, including tapping pencils and air conditioners. Area rugs and heavy curtains can also eliminate a great deal of extraneous noise. • 4. Pro-Consent Essay The three main aspects of politics, religion and the women s right to choose go into the different arguments over the debates of abortion. One of the movements which is pro life which is against the legalization of abortion. Another main movement is pro choice which believes that if the fetus is a person then the women can t if the abortion. However, pro consent believes that the women have a right to choose to consent to the condition of pregnancy or obtain an abortion (McDonagh, 23). Pro consent supports the rights of all living beings. People in the general public in non similar situations should not have a right to decide a woman s right to abort a child. A woman may choose an abortion if she is unable to care for a child... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reality becomes that all of Americans and most Catholics are in favor of legal abortions. However, 81% want abortion reduction which seems odd; but proves how religious views influence politics (Cahill, 188). In the Supreme Court ruling Roe vs. Wade made abortion legal because of single minded determination being questioned. Meanwhile, that may be the very thing that will reverse it (Cahill, 188 89). The clarity that the nine year old would be unfit mother and not developed enough to go through pregnancy is evident (Young, 416 17). This coincides with Judith Jarvis Thomson s opinion of Pro Consent. A very vocal anti abortion protester stated for a video camera that he believed all fetuses should be born, although, he was divorced and legally found as an unfit parent (Young, 419). This is a prime example of unknowledgeable activists who argue that women should be forced to keep the babies by the state should take care of the babies they could not support. However, a ... After spending some time with Roman, Niko finds that his cousin is being harassed by local loan sharks. Niko must commit illegal activities for the loan sharks in order to eradicate Roman s debt. As a result, he must enter the underground world of drugs and violence. Soon after, Roman discovers that his girlfriend is cheating on him with Niko s boss, Vlad, and is heartbroken. When Niko ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the game comes to a conclusion, the player is asked to make one more moral decision. Niko has the option of either working with Dimitri Rascalov, a man who sold him out to a Russian crime lord, or killing Dimitri. If Niko works with Dimitri, he tries to kill Niko at Roman s wedding, and accidentally kills Roman. If Niko takes revenge on Dimitri and kills him, Niko s business partner kills Roman s wife for thwarting his plan. Whichever path the player takes, the game concludes with Niko killing the man who killed his loved one. Although both endings are very tragic, they are representative of the huge sacrifices immigrants face and the price they must pay to achieve the American dream. B.Elements Perhaps the most important element of the revenge theme is the outcome of the revenge. In GTA IV, Niko is given many opportunities to take revenge on those who have wronged him. Each time Niko killed a man who wronged him or his family, he ended up suffering. When Niko killed Vlad, Niko and Roman were kidnapped and forced to work for their lives. By taking revenge on Darko, Niko does not actually change anything. He finishes his decade long quest but he is still void on the inside. If art is created to help people draw parallels to their life and learn a lesson, the entire purpose of the revenge theme is to demonstrate that getting even does not work as well as it may seem. The player is shown multiple times that taking revenge does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Comparative Analysis Poetry Paper Running head: COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS POETRY PAPER Comparative Analysis Poetry Paper My view of the poem Balthazar s Marvelous Afternoon written by Gabriel Garcia Marquez is absolutely entertaining. Balthazar is a carpenter who takes pride in building a bird cage for a young boy. The time and effort put into making this bird cage has great morality results for Balthazar. Being the most beautiful bird cage people in the village has ever seen, Balthazar s pride and extravagant praise boosts up and he is full of confidence. Finally he thinks about the beautiful cage he made and how bad the young boy wanted it so he decides to give it to him without any payment, leaves and gets drunk with some people from the village. This Marvelous Afternoon might not have turned out as expected but in reality the marvelous thing about it in my opinion is him being selfless and thinking about the young boy. From the beginning to the end of this short story he is well aware that the bird cage cannot belong to anyone but the person who requested it. The loyalty and dedication to clients in his business offers uniquely created products built from his heart. In the Poem 5000 Apply for 100 jobs by Jim Daniels, many can relate to this situation. People all over the Country are unemployed now in days and are willing to get any job they can to feed their families. This poem is somewhat of similarities with the first poem in a way that the person telling his experience is grateful for what he has. He is in line trying to find a better opportunity but is told to leave because all jobs have been filled. Once given the bad news some are upset as to be violent and swear. Specifically, I will address how real estate was marketed prior to the internet, the introduction of social media, and the evolution of real estate websites and social media throughout the years. Real Estate Marketing Prior to the Internet Before the introduction of the internet as a marketing tool for real estate agents, the deciding factor of an agent s success relied solely on their sphere of influence and knowledge of the market. These include popular websites such as Zillow, Trulia, Realtor, MLS, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and many more. MLS, or the multiple listing service, is an innovative content management system that serves as a means for organizing and advertising listings. Once a listing is entered by an agent, it is then uploaded to the local MLS website and displayed for viewing by consumers who are searching online. Most MLS providers then feed this listing to other real estate websites such as the ones previously mentioned. Once a listing expires, it is then automatically removed from all websites until relisted. Another innovative website designed with the consumer in mind is Zillow. Zillow shows the property history and value estimate for all homes, not just the ones listed for sale, in a given area. Although not completely accurate, it gives homeowners and prospective buyers a chance to see what s available and more importantly what isn t. Homeowners now have the power to estimate the value of either their home or other homes in the area which can potentially eliminate the need for an agent. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In most forms of media today there is a main point that the viewer is observing. 2 D perspective video creators are able to change perspectives of how the viewer sees the media, but with 360 degrees the viewer may not see it in the same way the original creator intended. This diving bell, the Trieste, was his invention, but he had only gone down to five km off the coast of Italy. Now he, and Lt. Don Walsh, had to go descend nearly eleven. What would take minutes to fall in air took them five hours. Every ten meters, the pressure increased one atmosphere. Leading biologists knew nothing could live in such harsh conditions. As they descended, the light from above faded. They could still hear the surface, but knew as their spotlight turned on that soon all sounds would cease. Nearly down, a crack shook them from their stupor. Nothing seemed to be wrong, so they continued. When the submarine settled on the surface, it wasn t what they expected: through the stirred up clay, they saw a flatfish and new species of shrimp, discoveries to be disputed for years to come. Sex can help unite a couple and open an avenue of growth that would only help to strengthen the bond between two people. One of the first major argument is that it is unnatural , Corvino easily dismisses this argument because under that explanation nothing is normal not clothing, organized religion or governments. The only thing that would be natural would be nature. In nature there are some species that do engage in homosexual activity. So by this natural standard it could not be used to reject Tommy and Jim. Another argument against homosexuals is that it is harmful to society through the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STD), by denying population growth and how it harms our youth. The first issue is addressed by simple process of elimination if homosexual males are at the highest risk of getting an STD and lesbian women at the lowest risk. Than Corvino is able to challenge the argument by concluding that if you are only choosing a partner based on risk of disease than women should only be with other women as the risk is the lowest. • 28. The Commodification And Objectification Of Women In Mass... The commodification or objectification of women in mass media has long sorted history. The concept of a commodity and the word itself changes meaning when dealt with in various capital industries which engage in trade. For the purpose of exploration, the meaning of commodity shall be narrowed down to an economic good, that is subject to ready exchange or exploitation within a market . A trend that is developing in entertainment media today is the objectification of women in society. Specifically in indian movies, music videos, music, and television, there is strong focus on women as sexual objects rather than women. This is detrimental to society because the media is creating social stereotypes for both men and women that can result in unhealthy social and physical habits. The issue is especially prevalent because the more the media uses sexual content regarding women, the more viewers seem to buy into them. Thus, the media is able to shape the culture s sense of dating, romance, sex, and what is ideal within society. The sexual attitudes of society are shaped and that has effects that can affect all demographics among society. Advertising and media images that encourage girls to focus on looks and sexuality are harmful to their emotional and physical health. Women develop the ideal of seeing their bodies as not their personal self, but as sexual objects. That unhealthy train of thought can develop into recurring problems such as eating disorders, low self esteem, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because of the gap between the bases of personal desires and family traditions, a person is left having to choose one and abandon the other. Our conversations will continue to reach dead ends if we do not realize where we may lack in our listening skills, decide to make improvements, and follow through. Therefore, we are left with two options when we learn we do not listen well, continue to listen the way we have been or make the conscious effort to improve and become sharpened listeners. This is one area of my life that I was made aware of over a year ago. I do not listen! I used to listen to respond, which was an unhealthy way to communicate. In listening to respond we are putting a higher value to our thoughts then that of the speaker. As discussed in our text some of warnings that one may not be a good listener is having the speaker repeat information already given, criticizing the speakers form of giving information, breaking the conversation to give your input, either orally or mentally, and giving the speaker the false gratification that you are listening (Hamilton. • 34. A Report From Unesco Of A Good Education For Girls Essay Dr. Martin Luther King once said no one is free until we are all free . This idea sounds very simple, but it lays a profound message to many different events and issues that are happening around us, including many big challenges to the world such as racial and ethnic discrimination. However, there is a sub issue to those challenges that we rarely think of it as a discriminationgirls education. By investing in a good education for girls all over the world teaching them how to empower themselves, we are contributing to eliminate discrimination and empower the world. A report from UNESCO in October 2013 shows some shocking statistics about girls and women around the world. There are 1.8 billion young people in the world. Approximately half of them 900 million are adolescent girls and young women, but 62 millions girls worldwide are not in school. As a result, they lack the basic skills for work: Two thirds of the 774 million illiterate people in the world are female. This will have some lifelong effects. Girls will face limited opportunities and choices in the job market. They lack basic health knowledge and will be subjected to serious health risks, and threatened by violence. They don t know about their basic rights, so their views and concerns are often unheard. These three effects are enough to prove that girls are discriminated against as females Therefore, if education is the key to their future, what doors can it open for those girls? • 35. Blindness In Sophocles Oedipus The King Oedipus Rex Essay They say that there is no real definition of what it is to see something. We have all become accustomed to seeing things that are right in front of us that we sometimes forget what we are truly seeing. We tend to forget about the beauty behind certain things and we forget how lucky we are to be able to see them. On the other hand, sometimes we try to close our eyes to the things we hate. During a scary movie or horrific event, people may cover there eyes and choose to not see the truth and what s really in front of them. Oedipus Rex wasn t able to see the truth, and yet Teiresias, a blind man saw it plainly. Oedipus is known for his intelligence but chooses to be ignorant and therefore blind to the truth about himself and his past. In Oedipus the King, Sophocles uses the blindness motif effectively by making Oedipus blind throughout the story by his refusal to see that the prophecy has come true, while Tiresias physical blindness allows him to see the truth. ... How do we convince existing NFL fans to switch allegiance to a new London based team? I don t think you can accomplish this with the time zone and the deep roots fans have for their home town teams. The Logistics of such a move would definitely hinder somethings. Money aside, an NFL season is 16 games long over a 17 week period. That s eight games at Wembley, and it s not only the fans that would have to put in the mileage, it s the players too. Now, London is some distance from the US: 3,459 miles. While travelling from America s East Coast would provide minimal problems, travelling from the West Coast back to England would take two days out of an already hectic week. This would definitely create a competitive disadvantage for a team that had to travel from the west coast for this game. Lastly, there is the issue having no team that would make this move at this time. The closes team in the thought process would be the Jacksonville Jaguars, and that is solely because of the owner and the dwindling fan base. The absolute monarchy was the apex of the pyramid of power and influence. This was a tripartite; the monarch, the aristocrat, and the church. Absolute monarchyis best exemplified in the reign of Louis XIV of France. The Effects Of Sleep And Variables On Sleep This paper will cover the scientific study of sleep and variables which impact sleep by examining the five different stages of sleep, evaluating dreams and nightmares, assessing the causes and effects of sleep disorders and the various types of treatments, in addition to the effects of food and drugs on sleep. There are five stages of sleep, numbered one through four and REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. Upon falling asleep, the brain and body goes through each stage to comprise sleep cycle which approximately has a duration of 90 minutes. Stage One commences when the body and brain begin to relax. During this stage, heart beat slows down, breathing becomes regular, and blood pressure tends to decrease (Huffman. K, 2011, p.174). In addition, brain activity starts to shift, moving from beta waves to the slower alpha waves. Despite being deeply relaxed in this stage, it is still very easy to be awakened (Huffman. K, 2011, p.174). Following Stage 1, the mind and body move to Stage Two. In this stage the body becomes more relaxed so it is less aware of its surroundings (Huffman. K, 2011, p.174). Short burst of rapid brain waves known as sleep spindles, can be visually observed against the background of an electroencephalogram (EEG) (Fogel, S. M., Nader, R., Cote, K. A., Smith, C. T. (2007). Sleep spindles and learning potential. Behavioral Neuroscience, 121(1), 1 10). Following Stage Two, Stages Three and Four take place. These stages are much deeper levels of sleep because ...
