What Is Aeneas Carrying Anchises
These three works of art I have chosen is a painted vase called Aeneas carries Anchises , a coin
called Aeneas carrying Anchises on left shoulder , and lastly an etching called Aeneas carrying
Anchises. All three of these works are very similar when it comes to the theme. The theme is
obviously the Greek and Roman myth of Aeneascarrying his father, Anchises, on his back.
Although the theme is the same on all works of art, there are some minor details that set these
figures apart. The first work of art pictured (figure 1), is the vase of Aeneas carries Anchises that
was made in the 5th century of BCE. In this work of art Aeneas is fully equipped in armor and
weapons. He is built strong and sturdy and seems to have no trouble carrying his father on his
back. Anchises is also holding a weapon of some sort, only holding on to Aeneas with one arm.
Both Aeneas and Anchises are painted to be strong and ready for battle. Many works of art
focusing on this particular theme are not depicted this way.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This was done in 47 BCE. The coin shows Aeneas as the biggest figure among the three figures
shown. On Aeneas back is his father, Anchises, and in Aeneas right hand is his son, Ascanius.
Aeneas is portrayed as stout and muscular in this artwork but unlike figure 1, he is almost
completely unclothed. Another difference between figure 1 and 2 is Aeneas holding the
Household of Gods and in figure 1 Anchises is holding the Household of Gods. Anchises is
clothed but has no armor and seems to be grasping Aeneas with both arms. This goes to show how
much more dependent Anchises is on Aeneas to carry him from the burning city of Troy compared
to figure

Chicago Bulls Case Study
Many blockbuster trade rumors are being speculated the past few months. Rumors that include
superstar and marquee players on a well known team. Although most of them didn t happen but still
gossip on trades will never stop until it satisfies the fans.
On recent trade rumors, one veteran big man is likely going to leave his first home. Brook Lopez is
an eight year veteran player who was the 10th overall pick by the New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn
Nets) in the 2008 NBA draft. He has a twin brother Robin Lopez who was just recently traded to
the New York Knicks to the Chicago Bullsthis offseason. And now, the same fate might happen to
Brook.
According to Parent Herald, the Nets will send Lopez to Chicago Bulls and in return, they will get
Nikola Mirotic, Denzel Valentine, and Bobby Portis as part of the agreement. It was also hinted
that the trade deal is already set and just waiting for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can also boost the offensive and defensive side of the Bulls as Lopez is averaging 20.6 ppg, 7.8
rpg, and 1.7 bpg last season.
On an earlier report by YIBADA English, there is three trade scenario for Brook Lopez. First,
with the Chicago Bulls which we ve already tackled. Second with the Milwaukee Bucks. Trade
scenario is suggesting to send Lopez to the Bucks in exchange for Greg Monroe and Michael
Carter Williams. And lastly with the Boston Celtics. The Celtics must give up future draft picks,
Terry Rozier or James Young, and Amir Johnson to acquire Lopez.
Many say that the trade scenario to the Chicago Bulls is more feasible than the others as it
would likely place Lopez on a more contender team and will be utilized more. Will Brook Lopez
fit in the Bulls system once the trade pushes thru? Will his transfer to Bulls will established him as
a superstar? Can it also be a reunion with his twin brother Robin in the Windy

Gas Chromatography Lab
Simple Distillation and Gas Chromatography The objective of the lab was to purify compounds that
can be turned into gas at a reasonable temperature without using decomposition. Gas
chromatography was also used to identify the proportions of the volatile compound in the different
samples. The mixture of hexane and octane was assigned to me and my partner. The apparatus for
simple distillationwas assemble using a thermocouple, air condenser, distillation head, metal keck
clamps, and a conical reaction vial. The joints of the glassware were greased before assembly.
Four boiling chips were placed in the conical ration vial before it was assembled. After being
assigned a mixture, 3.5 mL of the mixture was put into a reaction vial. The apparatus... Show more

There was no distillate in the distillation head after 20 minutes on the setting of 40 so the Variac
transformer was turned to 45. The first fraction was collected at 55.6В°C. The ratio of hexane to
octane was 87.437% to 12.563%. The second fraction was collected between 47.3В°C and
40.5В°C. 88.429% to 11.571% was the ratio of hexane to octane for this fraction. The third
fraction was collected at 30.6В°C, and the ratio of hexane to octane was 94.957% to 5.043%.
The contents of the conical reaction vial were placed in a fourth vial and a chromatogram was
obtained for it. The ration of hexane to octane was 7.501% to 92.499%. During the collection of
the three fractions, a piece of the glass pipet broke off into the distillation head. The results of the
experiment could have been incorrect because the glassware was not properly cleaned. The
distillate also could have collected too fast which would have lowered the separations efficiency.
From this information, infer that hexane has a lower boiling point than octane because most of the
distillate was hexane. The majority of what was left in the conical reaction vial was octane because
the temperature was not hot enough to turn it into a gas to go into the distillation

Role Of Guilt In Macbeth
Focus Question: How do characters in the texts attempt to repress their guilt, and to what extent are
they successful?
Guilt is an emotion that we are all familiar with. It occurs when we act against our conscience, and
violate our moral code, which as humans, we often do. The degree of our guilt depends on how
significantly we view our misdeed. A psychotherapist, Maud Purcell, describes the more severe
cases of guilt as the greatest destroyer of emotional energy and says that staying consumed with
guilt will keep you from moving forward in a positive and productive way. Hence properly
dealing with guilt is crucial, which would explain why it is explored in many texts, including:
Macbeth by William Shakespeare, The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar... Show more content on

Set in the 11th century Scotland, killing her king would have been the greatest crime Lady
Macbeth could commit in her community. However, blinded by ambition, she chooses to ignore
her conscience, seeking spirits to stop up the access and passage to remorse, that no
compunctious visitings of nature shake my fell purpose. Lady Macbeth wants to be inhumane,
as she wants to feel and show neither remorse nor compassion the emotions that are part of being
human. Lady Macbeth s refusal to acknowledge her conscience may explain why at the start, we
as readers cannot identify any traces of her guilt. For example, immediately after the regicide,
unlike the guilt ridden Macbeth, Lady Macbeth declares that a little water clears us of this deed
. We can infer that she believes her sin is so insignificant that mere water can wash it away;
implying that there is no reason to feel guilty. Likewise, the narrator of The Tell Tale Heart at
first also tries to ignore his conscience and hence his guilt. We know this because Poe initially
positions us to see the narrator as a psychopath, someone who feels no empathy nor remorse, as
the narrator murders an old man whom he loved and who had never wronged [him] . Unlike
Lady Macbeth, object there was none the sole reason for his controlled and calculative murder
was because of the old man s vulture eye which made the narrator s blood [run] cold and chilled
the very marrow of [his] bones. After the successful murder and the cunning concealment of the
body, the narrator smiled gaily as [the old man s] eye would trouble him no more. He is so
cunning and has full control of his emotions that he even satisfied and convinced the police
officers. Poe compels us to question the humanity of the narrator, as he seems emotionless and
ruthless. Both characters denial of guilt seems to be successful at first. However, as the stories
progress, it is clear

How do professional design companies work through a design process? The video you are about
to see chronicles the efforts of a world renowned design firm, as they apply their process to the
redesign of a common, everyday product.
One of the best documented examples of the design process in action took place in Palo Alto,
California, at an industrial design firm called IDEO. ABC News gave IDEO the challenge of
redesigning the old and familiar shopping cart in just five days. Nightline chronicled the experience
and aired the program on February 9, 1999.
This short documentary reinforces the idea that fantastic solutions can be produced under very
difficult constraints when the designers have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
16. Of all the things that we are surrounded by every day, what has not been placed through the
design process?
Extend Your Understanding (Optional)
Engineers need to know what problems they are addressing. They must have an idea about the
degree to which the solution should be carried out, along with what the solution should do to solve
the problem. The engineer must also work within constraints, such as time and budget. A design
brief is a tool that is used to concisely identify the problem, solution expectations, and project
constraints. The engineer will often return to the design brief throughout a design process to assess
the progress and validity of his or her creative work.
Imagine that you are part of that design team. The project leader has given you the responsibility of
creating a design brief that defines the problem, states the expectations that the solution must meet,
and identifies the project criteria and constraints. Your design brief will serve as a guide to the
team as they work through the design process.
From your observations of the video, record your information in the design brief on the following
page or in your engineering notebook.

A glance at the table of contents is enough to show that the sequence of chapters is erratic and
closer inspection reveals that the scope of individual chapters is far wider than appears at first
sight. Philosophic doctrines (which, according to the author, are the basis of the talismanic art),
theory of magic, astronomical, astrological and physical lore, extensive directions for the
practice of the art, and accounts of the peoples by whom it is employed are jumbled together
throughout the book, with no discernible guiding principle. If a systematic arrangement is
anywhere perceptible, it is in the astrological and astronomical material, though even this is far
from selfcontained or methodically ordered. Subjects which belong together are separated (e.g.,
the geographical sections on pp.171 ff. and 394 ff.), long, discursive definitions, appearing in
unexpected places, further break the sequence (e.g., pp.78 and 343) . and there is a great deal
more to make the reader s task more difficult. This manner of writing may well be intentional,
whether to make the magical sections appear less suspect by interlarding them with theoretical
passages, or to make certain doctrines seem less strange by administering them in small doses, or
to demonstrate the equal validity of the magical and philosophical material, or for a combination of
all three reasons. At all events, a similar method of

Descriptive Essay On A Deer
The spray flew up from my front tires, drenching my windshield, and the thought struck me; I haven
t driven through a puddle in months!
My veteran bow hunters had started the season strong, turning down shots at younger deer in hopes
of tagging one of several mature bucks that had been out in full view that first evening. All creatures
enjoyed the return of the much needed rain including the normally nocturnal older deer.
A shot taken by a new archer flew harmlessly over the back of a mid 150 s whitetail that would
have ruined her for life. Good thing she missed. A veteran hunter mentioned that it was the first
time since the Hemorrhagic outbreak killed so many deer that we were seeing multiple trophy
animals on a single hunt. That it felt like the, Old glory days.
We were all in high spirits until the rain decided to stay.
For the next three days, when it wasn t raining, there was a thick mist that still required the
windshield wipers to cut tracks through the layers of moisture. I looked at nearly two inches
collected in a bucket and silently repeated the same lines shared all weekend, We should enjoy it
while we can.
Hadn t we just been praying for a cloud burst at Mass.
At first, the moisture had been a blessing that covered out scent and allowed deer to pass directly
under our stands without detecting hunters who were only a few feet above. By the third day,
clothing that had never had a chance to fully dry began to faintly give off the aroma of wet dog.

A Report On Tata Motors
I.Core Problem / Issue
Tata Motors has continued to increase its presence in the car industry throughout Asia and the
world, but especially in their home country of India. From their goal of providing innovative
affordable products for the masses, they have expanded from commercial vehicles into passenger
cars, becoming India s largest automobile company. As part of their global expansion strategy, Tata
Motors acquired Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) in 2008, which allowed them to move into the higher
end car market. The timing of which proved difficult, due to global recession. The latest
innovative product that Tata has developed is the Nano, a low cost car designed to compete as a
safer and more comfortable alternative to 2 wheeled vehicles in India. Tata was able to find a
Blue Ocean with this product. The Nano s release in 2009 was a resounding success, with over
206,000 orders in the first year. The interim plant was able to produce 50,000 vehicles the first
year, with the new plant expected to have a capacity of 350,000 vehicles in 2010. Initial
estimates put the potential market demand for vehicles similar to the Nano near one million units
per year in India, with the potential to expand to global markets. Global automakers have plans to
start production of ultra low cost (ULC) vehicle, so this will be a highly competitive market. The
core problem for Tata Motors is that they need to decide if they continue as planned with their
production of only 250,000 vehicles or if

Existentialism and its Role Today
The Good Life is an expression representing how one would like to live out their life. In other
words, how that person achieves happiness. The three more relevant theories that correlate to the
Good Life are Daoism, Stoicism, and Existentialism. Since each person defines their happiness
differently, each person has their own opinion as to whether or not what is read to be correct or
not. The goal is to at least shine a light to what everyone seems drawn towards. Existentialismis an
important theory to consider in order to achieve the Good Life. Although existentialism may not
appeal to everyone as a reliable theory to achieve the Good Life, it does elaborate as to how
existentialism can be used to attain the Good Life in the 21st century.... Show more content on

throughout life.
Today, teens are always finding something to do. Whether it be relationships, love, sex, honesty,
anxiety, freedom, courage, or self realization teens have always gone through the ups and downs

attachment towards existentialism. General readers find it challenging, inspiring, and helpful in
gaining a fuller perspective on their lives. High school and university students encounter
existentialism as a refreshing change from... courses (Fox 11). Fox analyzes how students and the

America s public schools do not inhibit academic growth because the schools are dropout
factories, the proficiency is below what it should be, and teachers are not good. Dropout factories

dropouts. Middle schools feed poorly educated kids into high school. These kids are not ready for
high school, so they drop out. There are more then 60 percent of kids who do not make it from
freshman to sophomore year. There are over 1000 documented drop out factories in the United

sophomores. Most of the kids have at these schools had a third grade reading level. In one case,

Roland s Heroic Hero
The loss of his men deeply troubles Roland into portraying the heroic quality of honoring the dead.
As the battle against the Saracens slowly diminishes the French forces, Roland scans the mountains

lie down among the holy flowers.
I never saw better vassals than you.
All the years you ve served me, and all the times, the mighty lands you conquered for Charles our
King! (140. 1854 59)

they saw a fierce battle approaching. Instead, they followed orders and fought honorably under the

It is notable to realize that Roland is physically about to die, yet the obligation of blessing his
companions is his top priority. Roland returns, lays the brave men down according to their rank,
and watches as the Archbishop blesses each one. Roland shows particular emotion when he sees
Oliver lying on the plain When Roland fixes his eyes on Oliver s cold body, he
felt such grief and pity, he begins to weep; and his face lost its color with what he felt: a pain so
great he cannot keep on standing, he has no choice, falls fainting to the ground. (164. 2215 20)
Roland and Oliver s relationship is much more meaningful than friendship. Although the two
arguments between Oliver and Roland seem like they pit each vassal against each other, they still
resemble brothers in arms (Ailes). No matter how different they may seem, Roland honors Oliver
in the end. In addition, the Twelve Peers that fought so bravely by Roland s side. Through the

Arguments Against Altruism
Altruism and profit are often at different ends of the spectrum when it comes to medicine and
health care as a whole. Altruism is the belief and practice of self less concern for others over a
person s own self. One of the biggest problems in our health care system today and possibly even
during Henrietta s time is that medicine and health care as a whole are so commercialized and
are only concerned with earning a profit. Henrietta s cells were stolen without any notice and her
family was not compensated for this crime. Eventually Henrietta s cells became so important
and eventually earned researchers millions of dollars. The theft of her cells had nothing to do
with Henrietta as a person, but rather the doctors and researchers wanting to make a dollar off of
a dead woman s cells. Dr. Gey and others did not know that Henrietta s cells were going to change
medicine but the fact that they did change medicine and no compensation was given to Henrietta
and her family show that many doctors are not concerned with their patients, they are more
concerned about their paycheck and whether or not they will be remembered in history forever.

that cure into a profit making machine. The profit and monetary means earned by the doctors and

doctors who were performing dangerous and often deadly experiments on people to try and

Comparing Zeffirelli s Romeo And Juliet
William Shakespeare s play Romeo and Juliet has been redone many times by different
producers who have changed parts of the play to attract a newer audience, versions of
Shakespeare s play are done by Franco Zeffirelli and Baz Luhrmann, both have similarities and
differences that make them unique. The version of Romeo and Juliet that is better is Zeffirelli s
because the Director did a good job when it came to mirroring the original play, which didn t ruin
it. In Shakespeare s original play, the prologue tells the audience facts of Romeo and Juliet in a
poetic manner which would help tell the audience if there would be violence romance and drama.

Capulets start the fight by tripping the Montagues while in Luhrmann s version the Montagues

Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) is a measure used to treat infertility where both sperm

Really? Not again. I ve been hijacked. I ve just spent three hours on Pinterest searching for a new

recipe for roasted red pepper Alfredo though. However, I did just lose three hours of my time. I

phone books, directions, new information, etc. Soon people will depend on it for everything. I

Many daily chores are completed by the use of smart technology. For example, smart technology
can be used for: setting an alarm clock, making phone calls, balancing a bank account, paying

this. They may use their laptop, iPad, cellphone up to ten times a day to complete these tasks. I ll

College Sports Gambling
With all of the controversy of gambling in college sports, why is the issue still an issue? The
answer is money. There were actions taken towards this by
Congress, but the problem is that it was never completely abolished. Congress had made the
mistake of creating a way around it. It is now commonly referred to as the Las Vegas loophole.
They outlawed the betting nationwide with the exception of one state, one state that is the capital
of gambling, Nevada. This has caused few changes, with the exception of the ever growing revenue
that it generates. Another reason the legality still remains is one not frequently mentioned, but the
question of the ban being constitutional. But no matter what the law, is there ... Show more content

John Shelk, vice president of the American Gaming Association, also stated It s not like
Congress is going to pass a law that bans legal gambling, and students across the country will say,
В‘Oh my God, I can t gamble anymore because it s illegal. Sen. McCain, co author of last year s
Senate bill, had countered his opinion to ESPN.com by saying, I don t think we have to choose
between enforcing existing laws on illegal gambling and closing the loophole on legal gambling.
McCain added, we can do both. McCain and others claim that eliminating legalized gambling in
Nevada would be an essential first step on stopping the college sports gambling. Critics disagree.
They believe that the attempt to chip away at illegal sports gambling isn t a logical first step, at all.
The fact of the college sports gambling, is that there is too much publicity, popularity, and money
surrounding this particular gambling sport.
In the beginning there was a problem with popularity. From 1951 1974, there was a 10% excise
tax levied by the Federal Government on the amount of sports wagers. The tax made the business
unprofitable since the profit margin was generally 5%

Revealed In Charles Wright s Reunion

time. The poem s title suggests that the past, present, and future are reunited in the act of writing a

The Benefits Of Movies In The Movie
When watching movies, people are sometimes told fixation to the screen will damage eyes and
ruin posture. Those people would rather would walk in the park, or read a novel, worrying about
these consequences. However, little do they understand the essence in movies. Although some
people may say watching movies leads to bad health, the benefits are far more substantial.
Witnessing movies is a core activity that leads one to becoming more aware, inspired, and
entertained. Movies can raise awarenesson social, environmental, and political issues that are
pertinent to our society. A Girl in the River addresses an important social issue, and very
beneficial to know. In the movie, a young Pakistani woman survives an attempted murder from
her father. Many people believe there s a problem being allowed to kill a relative due to
perceived mistrust from family. After witnessing, the world was well aware that thousands of
women s lives are taken each year in honour killings. The movie benefitted woman greatly,
especially Pakistani women, as their prime minister changed the law on honour killing, claiming
the movie to deliver a powerful message. The Day After Tomorrow also provided benefits to
society, addressing an environmental issue. People became more aware of severe events happening
as a result of climate change, including tidal waves, tornadoes, and hailstones the size of grapefruits.
After witnessing the movie, global warmingwas under control, as more people all around the world

Walgreen Company Case Study
Based on the tables above, the company consisting of the shortest cash to cash cycle is Walgreen
Company. On the contrary, the longest cycle is contained by Rite Aid. Therefore, there is a
leaner operation in Walgreen compared to both CVS and Rite companies. When compared to the
two companies, Walgreen is less liquid. Due to the reduced period of cash to cash cycle, there is
more operating investment in disposal to be used in Walgreen when compared to CVS and Rite.
By considering cash to cash cycle, the best performing company is Walgreen, followed by CVS
and finally Rite Aid.
The highest return on assets from the tables above is 23.8%, which belongs to Rite Aid. CVS
follows with 6.25%, and lastly, Walgreen has 5.20%. Therefore, the most rewarding assets belong to
Rite since they achieve a higher return on investment compared to the other two companies. Out of
the three companies, Walgreen has assets with the lowest returns on investment. Basing return on
assets results, Rite Aid has the best performance, followed by CVS and finally Walgreen Company.

If CVS were to start operating on a lean philosophy, various processes would become faster, e.g.,
order to cash receipt process. This would, in turn, speed up activities such as invoicing process,
response to overdue bills and the billing errors would be minimized (Oliveira Fernandes, 2017).
Reduction in cycle time and error rates would avail more cash for paying suppliers as well as
redeployment of the business. Consequently, inventory levels would reduce while the turnover
would increase. A speeder cash collection would also be achieved with shorter cash to cash cycle.
Therefore, it would be better for CVS to operate

White Collar And Organized Crime Essay
White Collar And Organized Crime
In the twentieth century, White Collar and Organized Crimes have attracted the attention of the
U.S. Criminal Justice System due to the greater cost to society than most normal street crime. Even
with the new attention by the Criminal Justice System, both are still pretty unknown to the general
public. Although we know it occurs, due to the lack of coverage and information, society does not

What Is Bradford s Use Of The Barbarians In Of Plymouth...
When people of two different cultures meet, they often have unjustified negative perceptions each
other. Such was the case of the Europeans and the Native Americans during the Age of Exploration.
Native Americans would sometimes attack the settlers and look down upon them in disdain. In
turn, the Europeans would fight back while also calling the natives savages. These hostile
exchanges frequently occur because their leaders think too much about the differences between the
groups that they forget the similarities in that they are all humans. Perceptions often change when
those of different cultures put aside those differences and begin to cooperate with each other in a
common goal. In fact, that is exactly what happened when William Bradford and his group of
pilgrims came to Cape Cod. Initially, there was an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In that book, he wrote his truthful thoughts of the world around him. When he first spotted the
Native Americans after he had arrived, he noted that these savage barbarians, when they met with
them (as after will appear) were readier to fill their sides full of arrows than otherwise (Bradford
8). In effect, his usage of the derogatory terms savage and barbarians demonstrates his disrespect for
their culture. Not only does he describe the natives as savage once, but he also continues to use that
term nearly five times. Bradford also uses many other words to characterize the natives negatively.
For instance, he writes that ...the Indians came skulking about them, and would sometimes show
themselves aloof off, but when any approached near them, they would run away... (16). In
describing the actions of the Native Americans, Bradford uses the word skulking, which has a
negative connotation due to its close association to cowardliness. In fact, by writing that they ran
away, Bradford implies that they are cowardly and afraid of the

Guns Should Be Allowed In Schools Essay
On August 1, 1966 Charles Whitman opened fire from the University Of Texas Austin tower
killing 16 people. On August 1, 2016 A Texas law went into effect that allows concealed handguns
in college and university buildings in Texas. This law went into effect as the university held a
memorial for one of the deadliest shootings on a college campus. Guns do not belong in schools
and especially not on college campuses. Colleges should not allow guns because suiciderates would
go up, young adults tend to act more rashly, the college life is defined by excessive alcohol use
and would increase accidents shootings. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among
college students. Suicide by firearmis the most common method and 90% of the... Show more

Controlled Content Distribution in Peer to Peer Networks
Research Problem:
Centralized fingerprinting mechanism has an encumbrance of computational overheads and high
communication bandwidth costs. Central repository of authenticating data has also raised concerns
over the loss of privacy and potential misuse of biometric data. For instance, biometric data stored
at a central repository can be used to track individuals by checking where they visit or shop. This
centralization, when compromised, may lead to data being used for unintended purposes like
searching private information using latent fingerprints, revelation of certain health problems that
may lead to discrimination among peers, etc.
Objectives:
To develop a multicast approach to the anonymous fingerprinting problem. This will reduce
computational overheads and high communication bandwidth costs that characterize anonymous
fingerprinting.
To ensure privacy in Controlled Content Distribution in Peer to Peer Networks through the use of
advanced cryptography features of group signatures.
To provide a straightforward alternative to the conventional broadcast transmission that precludes
fingerprinting the copy obtained by each receiver.
To make data privacy a striking feature in peer to peer applications.

Food allergies have skyrocketed, disorders such as autism and diseases in our reproductive and

the availability as well as the opportunity to enjoy and eat organic fresh produces that s packed
with both flavours and nutrients. Did you know that, GM crops can harm birds, insects, soil
organisms, and marine ecosystems; This might not seem like a BIG DEAL to us at the start,
but in reality, it should be: interrupting the niche of a single organism DEMOLISHES the whole
food chain, this means; that it will be OUR children, that will have to pay the price for what WE
have all created during our generation. There have been fairy tales floating around, saying,

During the colonial period, various attempts to unite the English colonies occurred. Issues arose
with the promotion of unity similar to any other instances in history. The colonies desperately
searched for ways they could have a more organized government, which could help them to protect
themselves against attacks from foreign nations. This urge to find ways to build the strength of the
colonies was directly related to the numerous taxes enforced on them by Britain. These taxes were a
form of compensation for a previous representation from Britain in the French and Indian War. The
interest in the establishment of unity in the colonies brought up various conversations which led to

Ling states that after the parents have accepted their child s deafness and they have accepted to
work constructively with the child, they can do more for their children than any professional (Ling,
6).
After the parents have accepted their child s impairment, they must take the necessary steps in
deciding how their child will communicate. But, before they can make any decision as to which
approach they will use with and for their child, they must first research and completely understand
the aspects of each. According to Father van Uden of Sint Michielsgestel,
[T]he essential characteristics of oral communication are: a communicative system that exclusively
uses speech, residual hearing, speech reading, and/or vibrotactile stimulation with or without
normal gesticulation in spontaneous conversation, and a system in which the teaching of language
and of all subjects involved in languages conducted exclusively through its spoken and written
forms.(Mulholland, 535).
The manual approach stresses the use of signs in teaching deaf children to communicate. The use of
theses signs is based on the principle that deaf children are unable to develop oral language, so they
must use some other means of communication (Hardman, Drew, Egan, 435). The primary goal for
oralism is to develop the speech and communication skills necessary for integration into the hearing
community (Roach 2002). Advocates of this particular

Emphasizing The True Meaning Of Poems By Andrew Marvell...

Emphasizing the True Meaning of Poems Around the seventeenth century the poets Andrew
Marvell and John Donne expressed their feelings through poetry. Both John Donne, born in 1572
and Andrew Marvell, born in 1621 in England, are known for their ideas of metaphysical poetry.
Metaphysical poetry is a persuasive poem that uses a conceit. It focuses on imagery, paradoxes,
arguments, philosophy and religion. Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress and John Donne s A
Valediction: Forbidding Mourning, focus on the theme of love, which was trending at that time.
Although both poems justify the importance and essence of love, the tone differs in each poem
making them distant from each other. The figurative language also makes the two poems different.
However, they both focus on the idea of Carpe Diem, enjoying the moment and not worrying about
the future. Through comparing these poems, the differences and similarities result in the true
understanding and effectiveness of the poems. In To His Coy Mistress, Andrew Marvell does not
perceive true, fervent love, but rather that time and beauty will not last. The tone of this poem is
sad, but the author seems to make it happier. There is an example shown in the first stanza;
Had we but world enough and time...we would sit down, and think which way to walk, and pass
our long love s day. (1 4) Marvell appears to be straying from the idea of Carpe Diem; stating that if

John Grisham s A Painted House Essay
John Grisham s A Painted House
John Grisham s book, A Painted House places the reader within the walls of a simple home on
the cotton fields of rural Arkansas. Within the first few pages, the author s description of the
setting quickly paints a picture of a hard working family and creates a shared concern with the
reader about the family s struggle to meet the basic needs of life. The description of the dusty
roads, the unpainted board sided house, the daily chore requirements and their lack of excess cause
the reader a reaction of empathy for the family. Although the story takes place in a dusty setting
very unfamiliar to most readers, the storyline is timeless and universal. Most everyone has a desire

As one might expect from the title, one continued part of the story concerns the lack of paint on the
home. Trot, in spite of his lack of physical strength and intelligence, decides to paint the house.
His sister Tally buys him some paint, and Trot begins painting the house on a side not normally
visible during daily activities. At first, it seems a mystery on who is painting the house and for
what reason. It s very obvious later in the book what the author was conveying with this exercise.
The unpainted house is certainly a metaphor when studying these folk as they interact with one
another. One has to set his goals and work very hard and persistently in order to complete the
task...just as in life. Mr. Grisham takes the reader into the cotton fields with the snakes, the almost
unbearable heat, and the empty sacks that must be filled. Too much time spent in one area of a
cotton row and there is wasted time. Not enough time spent in each area of the cotton row, and
there is wasted cotton. The bags have to be filled in order for anyone to get paid. Luke is out
there everyday with the adults dragging his sack behind him while doing his best to keep up with
the others. The work is hard and the days are long. However, in this book s setting, it seems
natural and expected for everyone to share the load. Although one s initial reaction may be that
Luke is too young, the point has to be stressed:

The Union Of The European Union Essay
On the morning of June 24, 2016, Britain announced that after a nationwide vote, it would be
leaving the European Union. In what has since become known as Brexit, the United Kingdom held
a referendum in which 52 percent of the voting eligible population chose in favor of the country s
departure from the 28 country politico economic union. When this political issue is analyzed, it is
important to understand the reasoning behind Britain s decision and the many factors that drove
them to this resolution. The people of the United Kingdomdecided to leave the European Union
based on economic and immigration concerns, but ultimately their main goal was to preserve their
country s identity. A movement toward unity in Europe was first expressed following the mass
devastation that World War II left on Europe. Many Europeans felt that a unification of the nation
states would provide a sense of collective security and would prevent another catastrophe similar to
that of World War II. In 1950, the Schuman Plan, authored by French prime minister Robert
Schuman, was presented to various European nations. The project proposed to unite the coal and
steel industries of France and Germany in an attempt to find a guarantee for European peace. In
1952, the plan took action, establishing the European Coal and Steel Community, the first European
common market. The union was comprised of six countries and that did not include Great Britain,
who declined to participate. In 1958, more steps were

Abstract: the open nature of the wireless medium leaves it vulnerable to drive or wedge packets
forcibly into a tight position referred as squeeze. This intentional interference with wireless
transmissions can be used as a launch pad for mounting Denial of Service attacks on wireless
networks typically; squeeze has been addressed under an external threat model. However, person
with depth knowledge of internet protocol specifications and network secrets can launch low
effort squeeze attacks that are difficult to detect and counter. In these attacks, the adversary is
active only for a short period of time, selectively targeting messages of high importance. We
illustrate the advantages of selective squeeze in terms of network performance degradation and
adversary effort by presenting two case studies; a selective attack on TCP and one on routing. In
this work, we address the problem of selective squeeze attacks in wireless networks. We show that
selective squeeze attacks can be launched by performing real time packet classification at the
physical layer. To reduce these attacks, we develop three schemes that prevent real time packet
classification by combining cryptographic primitives with physical layer attributes. We

Vinegar is also used in diet control because several doses can provide feeling of fullness and

World War II And Japan
World War II and Japan The Greater Japanese Empire was one of the fastest growing and most
dominant world powers of the late 1800 s and early 1900 s. After being created as a result of the
Meiji Restoration of 1868, the Empire of Japan grew quite well and prospered until it was
dissolved in 1947. Although Japan experienced a long period of economic strife, massive
destruction and a switch from a military to a consumer based economy, after World War II, the
country emerged stronger than ever and became a serious player on the world economic stage.
While scholars have debated World War II s impact on Japan s economy, ultimately WWII
allowed Japan to emerge with adaptive and innovative manufacturing capabilities. Japan
occupied Vietnam and joined the Axis Powers in 1940, which led to an oil boycott from the
United States and Great Britain (Ike 5). In 1941 Japan captured the Dutch East Indies, and after
the December attack on Pearl Harbor, they were officially at war with the Allied Powers in the
Second World War. The attack on Pearl Harbor resulted in over 2,400 American deaths and four
sunken ships. On the same day, Japan initiated the Southern Expansion, which was a massive
invasion of Guam, Hong Kong, and the Philippines, in addition to a few other East Asian
territories (Kato 57). During the next few months Japan was able to deliver a series of blows to
Allied forces in the region by taking over American bases and sinking British ships. Japan s

Moral Lessons for Children Depicted in Three Versions of...
Fairy tales read to young children not only served as a form of entertainment for the child, but
they also taught children the difference between what is good and what is bad. The Three Little
Pigs is a prime example of the morals and lessons that children were taught while reading a fairy
tale. The fact that the tale is equipped with adventure and the ability for animals to talk causes
children to immerse in the text while acknowledging the consequences of laziness of the first two
little pigs and the result of evil for the sneakiness of the big bad wolf. The tale does however teach
children the benefits of hard work when at the end the third pig lives happily ever after in his

The tales today have much more pleasant ending and children most likely will not be as frightened
but instead learn the moral lessons that the tale is trying to portray through its vivid illustrations and
excessive amount of repetition. The first version of the Three Little Pigs that I analyzed was by
Paul Gadon and it closely mimicked the original version of the tale. When reading the tale I was
baffled by some of the events that took place. Growing up my mother made sure that I did not
read any material that she felt would give me nightmares or would give me a negative way of
thinking. Because I was forced to read the revised version I never knew the truth behind the tale
until just recently. In Gadon s version the first two little pigs surprisingly get eaten by the big bad
wolf. Witnessing the two pigs get eaten by the wolf was very tragic and without a doubt left me in
shock. This version of the tale shows children that the consequences of lazy work results in terrible
consequences. Were the houses falling down not enough? Why did they have to get eaten? Does
this brutal act change the thinking of Children? Because it is scientifically proven that children
often repeat what they here or act out what they see I must agree with Mrs. Trimmer that the
original version of many fairy tales may have a negative effect on children. At a young age most
children do not understand the difference between

Writers have always set out to create realistic characters. Some have succeeded in creating
characters with unique goals and personalities while others fail to truly optimize the potential of

been praised for their originality and criticized for being stereotypical and bland. However while
some characters may appear to be caricatures, both Dickens and Haggis were constrained by time

challenges as climateconditions deteriorate and resources deplete. In order to confront the
ecological problems brought by the Anthropocene, communities must be resilient and this resilience
must rely on collective decision making and frugality. Moreover, there... Show more content on

There is an emphasis on the individual seen all throughout various mediums of today s society and
this egocentric view stems from the idea of freedom, which is central not only to contemporary
politics but also to the humanities, the arts, and literature (Ghosh 119). The concept of freedom is
attractive as it gives power and a sense of control to the individual. With freedom comes a sense of
hope and possibilities, but as ecologist Garrett Hardin argues this concept is dangerous in the
complex, crowded, [and] changeable world as it separates people from one another and their
environment (1245). As humans have become more complexy interrelated, [they] have also
become more distant from one another and [from the] environmental problems (Ostrom et al. 281).
This separation of humans from one another will pose a problem as humans must unite to combat
the challenges of the Anthropocene. There must be a change from thinking of freedom in an
individualistic sense because man is dependent upon other organisms both for the immediate means
of survival and for maintaining habitat conditions under which survival is possible (Crosby 1186).
Society must embrace a collective freedom where individuals understand how their actions affect
each other and the environment, and can make independent decisions that will promote the benefit
of all as well as themselves (Ostrom et al.

Electronic Cigarettes Vs. E Cigarettes
Electronic cigarettes (e cigarettes) are devices that deliver aerosolized nicotine to the user by
heating a liquid (typically propylene glycol) containing nicotine and flavoring agents. Most devices
share a common design a plastic tube containing a battery, an airflow sensor, a heating element and
a cartridge containing the liquid (Figure 1).
Figure 1. Components of the Electronic Cigarette.(1)
Theoretically,(2) frequently advertised,(3) and commonly assumed by users,(4 12) this process
avoids the harmful byproducts of combustible tobacco. Moreover, users cite considerable financial
savings(4,5) using e cigarettes over combustible cigarettes i.e. $846 per year compared to
$2190.(13) E cigarettes are often marketed as a way to beat public smoking restrictions,(3) and
users frequently claim this as one reason for consumption.(5,14)
E cigarette use is increasing,(2,4,5,7 9,12,14 21) with annual revenue surpassing $1 billion in
2013.(22)
The e cigarette format, however, does not eliminate concerns regarding public and individual
health risks. The World Health Organization has called for e cigarette usage to be monitored in
the same way as more conventional tobacco products,(23) the US FDA is advocating for more
research,(24) and there has been a dramatic increase in analyses of the chemical, physiological,
psychological and socio cultural aspects of e cigarettes.(2 7,9 12,14 21,24 52)

Dopamine Receptors
INTRODUCTION
In neural signaling, axons transmit trains of action potentials from soma to dendrites, where
synaptic transmission takes place. Until a decade ago it was thought that axonal trunk doesn t play
any important role in neural communication except conducting spikes faithfully. However, it has
become clear that because of the existence of many voltage and ligand gated ion channels in the
non synaptic areas of axons, different neuromodulators, especially monoamines, may have some
effects on the excitability of axonal membrane via activating or deactivating these channels, and
therefore, change the shape or conduction velocity of spikes. Consequently, spikes arriving at the
pre synaptic terminals may not be exactly the same as those ... Show more content on

For example, there is an axonal serotonin sensitive region in the lateral gastric neurons of the crab,
which spikes could be initiated there, propagate to axonal terminals, and change the output of the
neuron. (Meyrand, Weimann, Marder, 1992) Also, it seems that serotonin via 5 HT1A receptors
could modulate Na+ current, and then inhibit the spike initiation at the axon initial segment. (Cotel,
Exley, Cragg, Perrier, 2013) In addition, like dopamine, the axonal membrane excitability could be
increased by serotonin in the unmyelinated nerve fibers. (Lang, Moalem Taylor, Tracey, Bostock,

Sterotypic Stability
To effectively determine the ability and degree of personality change in middle adulthood it is
important to indicate the definition of personality continuity. The psychological consistency of a
person s feelings, beliefs and actions are defined as heterotypic stability. In heterotypic stability, it is
important to communicate behavioral expressions can present diversely during different stages of
life such as young children and adults (Donnellan, 2016). Researchers of heterotypic stability must
first identify the behaviors that are dissimilar over a lifespan but never the less represent the same
trait before continuity can be studied (Donnellan, 2016). Heterotypic stability is an important
concept to consider when analyzing personality change.

Fascism, Nietzsche, Power
Fascism, Nietzsche, Power
Nietzsche s writing about power dynamics and the creation of the strong and weak, the good
and the bad, is very closely intertwined with the workings of fascist ideology, and how it
understands itself to be strong. In a Nietzschean sense, however, fascism ultimately fails to be
truly strong because it creates itself as a reformed moralistic approach to power, rather than
freeing itself from moralism. More specifically, the construction of the Jews as weak by those
who subscribe to fascist ideology, and the portrayal of themselves as strong, is almost wholly
antithetical Nietzsche s actual position concerning power dynamics. Instead, as Nietzsche lays out
in The Genealogy of Morals, real power is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nietzsche explains this struggle as a slave morality, which can only survive if it has a force that
acts against it so its existence is justified; the role of opposition to the slave morality is occupied
by the strong. He writes In order to exist at all, slave morality from the outset always needs an
opposing, outer world; in physiological terms, it needs external stimuli in order to act its action is
fundamentally reaction (Genealogy of Morals 22). The morality of the strong is precisely the
antithesis of this: it justifies itself by reaffirming the strength of itself they justify their behaviors
by reaffirming their own lives, not by placing their lives in juxtaposition with the lives of the weak.
Nietzsche expands this, saying The opposite is the case with the aristocratic mode of evaluation:
this acts and grows spontaneously, it only seeks out its antithesis in order to affirm itself more
thankfully and more joyfully (Genealogy 22).
What fascists fail to recognize, however, is that fascism does not transcend the need to fight an
opposing force it does not exist without some external stimuli to which the fascists are always
responding. The Jews are constructed as the epitome of this slave morality ; they are the weak
people subjected by the aristocratically strong fascists. But, fascism moralizes in exactly the same
way as the Jews do for Nietzsche;

The Landlady Theme
The Landlady is a short story written by Roald Dahl, it started when the main character, Billy
Weaver, travel to Bath from London for his new job acceptant. The story was written in the third
person point of view and it describes about the dangerous things that wait for the inexperienced
Billy Weaver, when he wants to stay at a strange boarding house. Through the description, we can
see that the boy is too naГЇve and subjective about the outside world where he never actually
experience it. As a reader, we can easily recognized that the place is pretty creepy and quite
dangerous, when there are no sign of other guests, Billy also noticed about that but he is not fully
alert because of the sweet words from the landlady.
A most prominent theme ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Billy is exhibited as an honest young fellow who has just passed out of school, who appears to
be uninformed of the evils of life out in this present world. He doesn t for one moment assume
that there is anything vile about the lady. He is totally taken in by her cordial ways and is
enchanted by her cheap and comfortable rooms. He does distinguish some peculiarity in her
conduct, yet he merrily puts it down to her being somewhat dotty , and nothing else. Despite the
fact that he considers the vanishing of the two visitors that stayed there before him a vanishing that
made the news he regards it as a captivating puzzle instead of as a clue of danger. Youthful honesty,
then, is another main theme of the book; The way how youthful, blameless trusting natures are
exploited by more elderly, more naughty and evil minds. (Bingoffsky)
Roald Dahl utilizes metaphors as a part of the story, it isn t all the time I have the delight of
taking a guest into my small nest . He develops apprehension and tension in the reader s psyche
by utilizing this metaphor. For instance, when the lady depicts her home as little nest it makes the
reader think what part will Billy play in the lady s nest ; will he be the Landlady s baby or will he

Diagnostic Overlaps
Week 6 DB Coding 1 Distinguish the difference between therapeutic and diagnostic procedures,
as they can overlap. According to our text the following defines both types of procedures.
Diagnostic procedure: a procedure performed to obtain information needed to make a diagnosis
and treatment plan. Therapeutic procedure: a procedure performed to treat a disease or
condition. Mammograms and colonoscopies are examples of diagnostic procedures. However, a
colonoscopy can be a procedure that overlaps and provides a therapeutic service. In the case of a
diagnostic colonoscopy where polyps are discovered and removed at the same time, the code would
need to reflect that the therapeutic service was performed. You would NOT code the diagnostic

Physicians routinely order a panel of lab tests for their patients however, that does not mean that
all the tests meet the requirement for medical necessity. This can be an expensive problem for
patients that are on Medicare and Medicaid. Physicians must provide patients with the ABN if they
suspect that these tests will not be covered. Labs can offer discounts to physicians through panel
pricing however by ordering a panel it might be that the patient will have to pick up the tab. For
example, the General Health Panel is not covered by Medicare and some other insurance carriers.
One lab in Washington State clearly stated on their site that it would be more appropriate for
physicians to order the tests individually and document the medical necessity of the test with the
appropriate ICD 10 diagnostic code. Custom profiles are panels that are often ordered by certain
providers to treat and manage their patient. However, the Washington lab discouraged this practice
but suggested that the provider meet with their marketing representative who has underwent
compliance training. If it the diagnosis supports the medical necessity the marketing representative
can assist the provider in creating a custom

Essay about Mozart k310 sonata (2nd movement)
Mozart k310 sonata (2nd movement) Analyzation
The 2nd movement of the Mozart k310 Piano Sonata resembles standard sonata form in many
ways. It opens with a first theme in F (same as key signature). The theme is four bars long; two
bars of antecedant, two bars of consequent. Mozart then starts the first theme again with a 32nd note
run pick up instead of the 16th note arpeggio pick up in the the begginning of the piece so we are
prepared for variation in the second statement of the first theme. He then continues the theme with
variation until the consequent phrase which is completely different from the first consequent
phrase. This new consequent has not only faster rythmic movement but also compressed harmonic
rythym. This tension ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The I chord confuses the tonal direction becasuse the listener expects the ii to be followed by V
and then I. This is even more confusing because the scale that accompanies the I chord implies
V (the chord the listener wants to hear). The next bar rounds off this cadential prolongation (ii V
I) but the exposition does not yet end. The arrival to I does not occur until beat three of the bar.
The first two beats create even more prolongation as they nearly modulate. And even after this,
the exposition is not done. There is a two bar codetta (a one bar figure played twice, the second
time with variation) before the strong V7 I cadence with a C pedal tone. This is the first very
strong cadence since the start of the closing material. Since the cadence at the end of the
exposition is to C without any hint of F as a tonic, the Developement begins in C. In fact, it is
clearly in C as its pick ups are a C arpeggio and the first bar looks and sounds like I and shows no
indication of a Bb or any other scale alteration. The opening of the developement is also a textural
change but seems to resemble old material in its melody. Both the first theme and the second theme
have similar figures to the new material. The developement starts with tonal movement in each of
the first two measures, I in the first measure and ii6 in the second. In the third bar the harmonic
rythym increases with a I64 for the first two beats and a V7 in

A Discourse Of National Identity
Analysis Evaluation
The two collections articulate a discourse about national identity and how it is reflected in the art
produced in the United States. Both museums employing traditional classification from the art
history, arranging the collections by period, schools, style, movement, and artists. Both collections
approach the paradigms that address the historiography of American Art has established: the
Colony, the configuration of the Republic, The Civil War, the Centennial of Independence, Modern
art or European influence. In turn, each collection reserves a spot to talk about the universal
pictorial genres such as landscape, portrait, peasant scenes, women in the art, and paintings of
everyday life.
However, from the beginning one can see the different reality in which every museum and its
collection operate. When you enter to the galleries of the Brooklyn Museum, the amount of
information in a small space is overwhelming. Only eight galleries, plus the Luce Center, are the
spaces available to display, many times in a single room: painting, sculpture, decorative arts,
furniture, and historic interiors using colorful shaded walls, in order to introduce visitors to an
epochal atmosphere by looking at themes of globalization and cross influences among cultures.
The collection is divided thematically based on the historiography of art or pictorial genres. The
color of the walls and an information poster are an indication that you have moved to a new space

SMFBA doesn t really have much control over the supply side of things. Meaning, SMFBA
doesn t get to chose their donations as their business is solely dependent on donor relationships
and donor dollars. Currently they don t even choose the delivery time and pickup schedules for
these donations. For example, if large retail stores like let s say Walmart wants them to pick up
their donations as early as morning 4 am (which is usually the case for most of the big retail
stores), SMFBA is present at that given time at the stores distribution centers for pickup, no matter
what their routing preferences be. On the other hand, after the pickup of donations is done, all the
trucks have to come back to SMFBA dockyard to unload the trucks, so that all

The Definition Of Employer Of Choice
The actual definition of Employer of Choice (EOC) is debatable from web site to web site and
opinion based. The Herman Group awards a certificate to employers titled the Employer of
Choice Award when they are recognized for their leadership, culture and best practices that
attract, optimize and hold top talent, achieving corporate objectives(Home, n.d.). An employer
obtains this recognition by going through an application process that screens the company s
employees. The Herman Group describes the award as people will want to work for you and
will consciously stay with you even if they are being recruited from other agencies for more
money or compensation. Many EOC companies have similar appeals where they attract and
retain the best talent, but one employee s EOC many not be the same as another s (Healthfield,
2015) . According to the book, Human Resource Management, employees have different life
choices and occupation paths at different stages of their career, (Lussier Hendon, 2016). Which
means the definitions of employer of choice is different from person to person and at different
stages of their lives. To a potential employee, a company that satisfies the criteria for pay, benefits,
work hours and vacation time but does not have a healthy culture, growth opportunity or rewards
system that fits the person s life style and personality may not rank high as an EOC. On the other
hand, a company that pays less and does not have a fantastic benefits plan but fits

Taking Precautions Why are constant blows to the head causing these fatal diseases?
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal painless disease that slowly breakdown the
motor neurons in the spinal cord. ALS is absent muscle cells attacks every part of the body
except the brain. Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a non curable disease that is
formed by constant recurring head trauma damaging the malfunction of the body. CTE damages
the brain by the buildup of abnormal proteins called Tau. Athletes are getting diagnosed with
these two diseases at a very young because they are participating in contact sports so young.
Contact sports have a huge impact with ALS and CTE because they are not educating the athletes
about the diseases and they are not demanding a change on the safety rules. With contact sports
comes with constant blows to the head that create concussions and brain injuries and they are
very prone to be the main reason of why athletes are getting CTE. While the rules of the game
should not be changed, the safety rules should be, the athletes should be getting educated on ALS
and CTE to know the risks of the contacts sports. ALS being a fatal disease it is not contagious it
is heredity. ALS is a progressive neurological disease that that affects the nerves in the brain and
spinal cord. Amyotrophic comes from the Greek Language meaning No musclenourishment and

  • 2. What Is Aeneas Carrying Anchises These three works of art I have chosen is a painted vase called Aeneas carries Anchises , a coin called Aeneas carrying Anchises on left shoulder , and lastly an etching called Aeneas carrying Anchises. All three of these works are very similar when it comes to the theme. The theme is obviously the Greek and Roman myth of Aeneascarrying his father, Anchises, on his back. Although the theme is the same on all works of art, there are some minor details that set these figures apart. The first work of art pictured (figure 1), is the vase of Aeneas carries Anchises that was made in the 5th century of BCE. In this work of art Aeneas is fully equipped in armor and weapons. He is built strong and sturdy and seems to have no trouble carrying his father on his back. Anchises is also holding a weapon of some sort, only holding on to Aeneas with one arm. Both Aeneas and Anchises are painted to be strong and ready for battle. Many works of art focusing on this particular theme are not depicted this way.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was done in 47 BCE. The coin shows Aeneas as the biggest figure among the three figures shown. On Aeneas back is his father, Anchises, and in Aeneas right hand is his son, Ascanius. Aeneas is portrayed as stout and muscular in this artwork but unlike figure 1, he is almost completely unclothed. Another difference between figure 1 and 2 is Aeneas holding the Household of Gods and in figure 1 Anchises is holding the Household of Gods. Anchises is clothed but has no armor and seems to be grasping Aeneas with both arms. This goes to show how much more dependent Anchises is on Aeneas to carry him from the burning city of Troy compared to figure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although most of them didn t happen but still gossip on trades will never stop until it satisfies the fans. On recent trade rumors, one veteran big man is likely going to leave his first home. Brook Lopez is an eight year veteran player who was the 10th overall pick by the New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn Nets) in the 2008 NBA draft. He has a twin brother Robin Lopez who was just recently traded to the New York Knicks to the Chicago Bullsthis offseason. And now, the same fate might happen to Brook. According to Parent Herald, the Nets will send Lopez to Chicago Bulls and in return, they will get Nikola Mirotic, Denzel Valentine, and Bobby Portis as part of the agreement. It was also hinted that the trade deal is already set and just waiting for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It can also boost the offensive and defensive side of the Bulls as Lopez is averaging 20.6 ppg, 7.8 rpg, and 1.7 bpg last season. On an earlier report by YIBADA English, there is three trade scenario for Brook Lopez. First, with the Chicago Bulls which we ve already tackled. Second with the Milwaukee Bucks. Trade scenario is suggesting to send Lopez to the Bucks in exchange for Greg Monroe and Michael Carter Williams. And lastly with the Boston Celtics. The Celtics must give up future draft picks, Terry Rozier or James Young, and Amir Johnson to acquire Lopez. Many say that the trade scenario to the Chicago Bulls is more feasible than the others as it would likely place Lopez on a more contender team and will be utilized more. Will Brook Lopez fit in the Bulls system once the trade pushes thru? Will his transfer to Bulls will established him as a superstar? Gas Chromatography Lab Simple Distillation and Gas Chromatography The objective of the lab was to purify compounds that can be turned into gas at a reasonable temperature without using decomposition. Gas chromatography was also used to identify the proportions of the volatile compound in the different samples. The mixture of hexane and octane was assigned to me and my partner. The apparatus for simple distillationwas assemble using a thermocouple, air condenser, distillation head, metal keck clamps, and a conical reaction vial. The joints of the glassware were greased before assembly. Four boiling chips were placed in the conical ration vial before it was assembled. The ratio of hexane to octane was 87.437% to 12.563%. The second fraction was collected between 47.3В°C and 40.5В°C. 88.429% to 11.571% was the ratio of hexane to octane for this fraction. The third fraction was collected at 30.6В°C, and the ratio of hexane to octane was 94.957% to 5.043%. The contents of the conical reaction vial were placed in a fourth vial and a chromatogram was obtained for it. The ration of hexane to octane was 7.501% to 92.499%. During the collection of the three fractions, a piece of the glass pipet broke off into the distillation head. The results of the experiment could have been incorrect because the glassware was not properly cleaned. The distillate also could have collected too fast which would have lowered the separations efficiency. From this information, infer that hexane has a lower boiling point than octane because most of the distillate was hexane. The majority of what was left in the conical reaction vial was octane because the temperature was not hot enough to turn it into a gas to go into the distillation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Role Of Guilt In Macbeth Focus Question: How do characters in the texts attempt to repress their guilt, and to what extent are they successful? Guilt is an emotion that we are all familiar with. It occurs when we act against our conscience, and violate our moral code, which as humans, we often do. The degree of our guilt depends on how significantly we view our misdeed. A psychotherapist, Maud Purcell, describes the more severe cases of guilt as the greatest destroyer of emotional energy and says that staying consumed with guilt will keep you from moving forward in a positive and productive way. Hence properly dealing with guilt is crucial, which would explain why it is explored in many texts, including: Macbeth by William Shakespeare, The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Set in the 11th century Scotland, killing her king would have been the greatest crime Lady Macbeth could commit in her community. However, blinded by ambition, she chooses to ignore her conscience, seeking spirits to stop up the access and passage to remorse, that no compunctious visitings of nature shake my fell purpose. Lady Macbeth wants to be inhumane, as she wants to feel and show neither remorse nor compassion the emotions that are part of being human. Lady Macbeth s refusal to acknowledge her conscience may explain why at the start, we as readers cannot identify any traces of her guilt. For example, immediately after the regicide, unlike the guilt ridden Macbeth, Lady Macbeth declares that a little water clears us of this deed . We can infer that she believes her sin is so insignificant that mere water can wash it away; implying that there is no reason to feel guilty. Likewise, the narrator of The Tell Tale Heart at first also tries to ignore his conscience and hence his guilt. We know this because Poe initially positions us to see the narrator as a psychopath, someone who feels no empathy nor remorse, as the narrator murders an old man whom he loved and who had never wronged [him] . Unlike Lady Macbeth, object there was none the sole reason for his controlled and calculative murder was because of the old man s vulture eye which made the narrator s blood [run] cold and chilled the very marrow of [his] bones. After the successful murder and the cunning concealment of the body, the narrator smiled gaily as [the old man s] eye would trouble him no more. He is so cunning and has full control of his emotions that he even satisfied and convinced the police officers. Poe compels us to question the humanity of the narrator, as he seems emotionless and ruthless. Both characters denial of guilt seems to be successful at first. However, as the stories progress, it is clear ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The video you are about to see chronicles the efforts of a world renowned design firm, as they apply their process to the redesign of a common, everyday product. One of the best documented examples of the design process in action took place in Palo Alto, California, at an industrial design firm called IDEO. ABC News gave IDEO the challenge of redesigning the old and familiar shopping cart in just five days. Nightline chronicled the experience and aired the program on February 9, 1999. Of all the things that we are surrounded by every day, what has not been placed through the design process? Extend Your Understanding (Optional) Engineers need to know what problems they are addressing. They must have an idea about the degree to which the solution should be carried out, along with what the solution should do to solve the problem. The engineer must also work within constraints, such as time and budget. A design brief is a tool that is used to concisely identify the problem, solution expectations, and project constraints. The engineer will often return to the design brief throughout a design process to assess the progress and validity of his or her creative work. Imagine that you are part of that design team. The project leader has given you the responsibility of creating a design brief that defines the problem, states the expectations that the solution must meet, and identifies the project criteria and constraints. Your design brief will serve as a guide to the team as they work through the design process. From your observations of the video, record your information in the design brief on the following page or in your engineering notebook. A glance at the table of contents is enough to show that the sequence of chapters is erratic and closer inspection reveals that the scope of individual chapters is far wider than appears at first sight. Philosophic doctrines (which, according to the author, are the basis of the talismanic art), theory of magic, astronomical, astrological and physical lore, extensive directions for the practice of the art, and accounts of the peoples by whom it is employed are jumbled together throughout the book, with no discernible guiding principle. If a systematic arrangement is anywhere perceptible, it is in the astrological and astronomical material, though even this is far from selfcontained or methodically ordered. This manner of writing may well be intentional, whether to make the magical sections appear less suspect by interlarding them with theoretical passages, or to make certain doctrines seem less strange by administering them in small doses, or to demonstrate the equal validity of the magical and philosophical material, or for a combination of all three reasons. My veteran bow hunters had started the season strong, turning down shots at younger deer in hopes of tagging one of several mature bucks that had been out in full view that first evening. All creatures enjoyed the return of the much needed rain including the normally nocturnal older deer. A shot taken by a new archer flew harmlessly over the back of a mid 150 s whitetail that would have ruined her for life. Good thing she missed. A veteran hunter mentioned that it was the first time since the Hemorrhagic outbreak killed so many deer that we were seeing multiple trophy animals on a single hunt. • 10. A Report On Tata Motors I.Core Problem / Issue Tata Motors has continued to increase its presence in the car industry throughout Asia and the world, but especially in their home country of India. From their goal of providing innovative affordable products for the masses, they have expanded from commercial vehicles into passenger cars, becoming India s largest automobile company. As part of their global expansion strategy, Tata Motors acquired Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) in 2008, which allowed them to move into the higher end car market. The timing of which proved difficult, due to global recession. The latest innovative product that Tata has developed is the Nano, a low cost car designed to compete as a safer and more comfortable alternative to 2 wheeled vehicles in India. Tata was able to find a Blue Ocean with this product. The Nano s release in 2009 was a resounding success, with over 206,000 orders in the first year. The interim plant was able to produce 50,000 vehicles the first year, with the new plant expected to have a capacity of 350,000 vehicles in 2010. Initial estimates put the potential market demand for vehicles similar to the Nano near one million units per year in India, with the potential to expand to global markets. Global automakers have plans to start production of ultra low cost (ULC) vehicle, so this will be a highly competitive market. The core problem for Tata Motors is that they need to decide if they continue as planned with their production of only 250,000 vehicles or if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Altruism is the belief and practice of self less concern for others over a person s own self. One of the biggest problems in our health care system today and possibly even during Henrietta s time is that medicine and health care as a whole are so commercialized and are only concerned with earning a profit. Henrietta s cells were stolen without any notice and her family was not compensated for this crime. Eventually Henrietta s cells became so important and eventually earned researchers millions of dollars. The theft of her cells had nothing to do with Henrietta as a person, but rather the doctors and researchers wanting to make a dollar off of a dead woman s cells. Dr. Gey and others did not know that Henrietta s cells were going to change medicine but the fact that they did change medicine and no compensation was given to Henrietta and her family show that many doctors are not concerned with their patients, they are more concerned about their paycheck and whether or not they will be remembered in history forever. I believe smart technology will hijack our lives. Many daily chores are completed by the use of smart technology. For example, smart technology can be used for: setting an alarm clock, making phone calls, balancing a bank account, paying bills, checking e mails, doing homework, getting directions, etc. Many people take advantage of this. They may use their laptop, iPad, cellphone up to ten times a day to complete these tasks. I ll admit it, I have a favorite app myself. Pinterest! I ll lose hours on end getting lost in the app. However, smart technology does have better uses. Henry Ford community college student, Shandra Dicks, found a useful way to use smart technology. There were actions taken towards this by Congress, but the problem is that it was never completely abolished. Congress had made the mistake of creating a way around it. It is now commonly referred to as the Las Vegas loophole. They outlawed the betting nationwide with the exception of one state, one state that is the capital of gambling, Nevada. This has caused few changes, with the exception of the ever growing revenue that it generates. John Shelk, vice president of the American Gaming Association, also stated It s not like Congress is going to pass a law that bans legal gambling, and students across the country will say, В‘Oh my God, I can t gamble anymore because it s illegal. Sen. McCain, co author of last year s Senate bill, had countered his opinion to ESPN.com by saying, I don t think we have to choose between enforcing existing laws on illegal gambling and closing the loophole on legal gambling. McCain added, we can do both. McCain and others claim that eliminating legalized gambling in Nevada would be an essential first step on stopping the college sports gambling. Critics disagree. They believe that the attempt to chip away at illegal sports gambling isn t a logical first step, at all. The fact of the college sports gambling, is that there is too much publicity, popularity, and money surrounding this particular gambling sport. In the beginning there was a problem with popularity. Such was the case of the Europeans and the Native Americans during the Age of Exploration. Native Americans would sometimes attack the settlers and look down upon them in disdain. In turn, the Europeans would fight back while also calling the natives savages. These hostile exchanges frequently occur because their leaders think too much about the differences between the groups that they forget the similarities in that they are all humans. After the parents have accepted their child s impairment, they must take the necessary steps in deciding how their child will communicate. But, before they can make any decision as to which approach they will use with and for their child, they must first research and completely understand the aspects of each. According to Father van Uden of Sint Michielsgestel, [T]he essential characteristics of oral communication are: a communicative system that exclusively uses speech, residual hearing, speech reading, and/or vibrotactile stimulation with or without normal gesticulation in spontaneous conversation, and a system in which the teaching of language and of all subjects involved in languages conducted exclusively through its spoken and written forms.(Mulholland, 535). The use of theses signs is based on the principle that deaf children are unable to develop oral language, so they must use some other means of communication (Hardman, Drew, Egan, 435). • 30. Emphasizing The True Meaning Of Poems By Andrew Marvell... Kinsey Jordan Mrs. Russler English Honors I February 4, 2015 Emphasizing the True Meaning of Poems Around the seventeenth century the poets Andrew Marvell and John Donne expressed their feelings through poetry. Both John Donne, born in 1572 and Andrew Marvell, born in 1621 in England, are known for their ideas of metaphysical poetry. Metaphysical poetry is a persuasive poem that uses a conceit. It focuses on imagery, paradoxes, arguments, philosophy and religion. Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress and John Donne s A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning, focus on the theme of love, which was trending at that time. Although both poems justify the importance and essence of love, the tone differs in each poem making them distant from each other. The figurative language also makes the two poems different. However, they both focus on the idea of Carpe Diem, enjoying the moment and not worrying about the future. Through comparing these poems, the differences and similarities result in the true understanding and effectiveness of the poems. In To His Coy Mistress, Andrew Marvell does not perceive true, fervent love, but rather that time and beauty will not last. The tone of this poem is sad, but the author seems to make it happier. There is an example shown in the first stanza; Had we but world enough and time...we would sit down, and think which way to walk, and pass our long love s day. This intentional interference with wireless transmissions can be used as a launch pad for mounting Denial of Service attacks on wireless networks typically; squeeze has been addressed under an external threat model. However, person with depth knowledge of internet protocol specifications and network secrets can launch low effort squeeze attacks that are difficult to detect and counter. In these attacks, the adversary is active only for a short period of time, selectively targeting messages of high importance. We illustrate the advantages of selective squeeze in terms of network performance degradation and adversary effort by presenting two case studies; a selective attack on TCP and one on routing. In this work, we address the problem of selective squeeze attacks in wireless networks. Witnessing the two pigs get eaten by the wolf was very tragic and without a doubt left me in shock. This version of the tale shows children that the consequences of lazy work results in terrible consequences. Were the houses falling down not enough? Why did they have to get eaten? Does this brutal act change the thinking of Children? Because it is scientifically proven that children often repeat what they here or act out what they see I must agree with Mrs. Trimmer that the original version of many fairy tales may have a negative effect on children. At a young age most children do not understand the difference between ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Characteristic Characters In A Tale Of Two Cities By... Writers have always set out to create realistic characters. Some have succeeded in creating characters with unique goals and personalities while others fail to truly optimize the potential of their characters and instead have relied on some discernible caricatures. For example, from A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, written in 1858 to Crash, released in 2005, characters have been praised for their originality and criticized for being stereotypical and bland. However while some characters may appear to be caricatures, both Dickens and Haggis were constrained by time and societies explanation, forcing them to rely on some caricatures to make the story more accessible. Both Dickens and Robert Haggis show their potential for creating... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In there, Dr. Manette s enmity for the the Evremondes continues to grow where he denounces the Evremonde brothers and the rest the Evremonde bloodline until they die out. As the revolution continues to grow, Dr. Manette s is finally given an opportunity to end the Evremonde bloodline. The blood thirsty mob of the rebellion storms La Force, where Charles Evremonde is currently held. The mob detests anyone that had any remote connection to the French Aristocracy and would gladly murder him. Had Dr. Manette not used his influence as a Bastille survivor, Charles would ve been gored on the street. Despite his hatred for the Evremonde family, Dr. Manette forgoes his past to save the husband of one very dear to him. Finally, Dr. Manette is able move on from the years of hatred in the Bastille, and he personally vouches for the Evremonde at his trial. Ultimately, Dr. Manette ceases to hold the Evremonde bloodline responsible for the heinous actions committed, and had instead works tirelessly to save his son in law. Through Dr. Manette, Dickens portrays a character that not only complete contradicts his initial caricature of a vengeful prisoner, but also grows into someone willing to forgive someone who had wronged him. Despite such a strong lead character, where Dickens fell flat, especially for modern readers, was with his female characters, such as Lucie Manette. When we are first introduced to Lucie, she ... • 40. Anthropocene Ecological Issues Imagine a dying world, where organisms and resources are rapidly vanishing and the life sustaining environment converts into a danger zone for its inhabitants. Imagination is not required for creating such a world because humans are currently constructing one. As a result of human activities, Earth has been transformed and a new geological age called the Anthropocene has been seriously proposed. The Anthropocene will witness the necessity for all walks of life to face numerous, new challenges as climateconditions deteriorate and resources deplete. In order to confront the ecological problems brought by the Anthropocene, communities must be resilient and this resilience must rely on collective decision making and frugality. Moreover, there... There is an emphasis on the individual seen all throughout various mediums of today s society and this egocentric view stems from the idea of freedom, which is central not only to contemporary politics but also to the humanities, the arts, and literature (Ghosh 119). The concept of freedom is attractive as it gives power and a sense of control to the individual. With freedom comes a sense of hope and possibilities, but as ecologist Garrett Hardin argues this concept is dangerous in the complex, crowded, [and] changeable world as it separates people from one another and their environment (1245). As humans have become more complexy interrelated, [they] have also become more distant from one another and [from the] environmental problems (Ostrom et al. 281). This separation of humans from one another will pose a problem as humans must unite to combat the challenges of the Anthropocene. There must be a change from thinking of freedom in an individualistic sense because man is dependent upon other organisms both for the immediate means of survival and for maintaining habitat conditions under which survival is possible (Crosby 1186). Society must embrace a collective freedom where individuals understand how their actions affect each other and the environment, and can make independent decisions that will promote the benefit of all as well as themselves (Ostrom et al. ... • 42. Dopamine Receptors INTRODUCTION In neural signaling, axons transmit trains of action potentials from soma to dendrites, where synaptic transmission takes place. Until a decade ago it was thought that axonal trunk doesn t play any important role in neural communication except conducting spikes faithfully. However, it has become clear that because of the existence of many voltage and ligand gated ion channels in the non synaptic areas of axons, different neuromodulators, especially monoamines, may have some effects on the excitability of axonal membrane via activating or deactivating these channels, and therefore, change the shape or conduction velocity of spikes. Consequently, spikes arriving at the pre synaptic terminals may not be exactly the same as those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Fascism, Nietzsche, Power Fascism, Nietzsche, Power Nietzsche s writing about power dynamics and the creation of the strong and weak, the good and the bad, is very closely intertwined with the workings of fascist ideology, and how it understands itself to be strong. In a Nietzschean sense, however, fascism ultimately fails to be truly strong because it creates itself as a reformed moralistic approach to power, rather than freeing itself from moralism. More specifically, the construction of the Jews as weak by those who subscribe to fascist ideology, and the portrayal of themselves as strong, is almost wholly antithetical Nietzsche s actual position concerning power dynamics. Instead, as Nietzsche lays out in The Genealogy of Morals, real power is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nietzsche explains this struggle as a slave morality, which can only survive if it has a force that acts against it so its existence is justified; the role of opposition to the slave morality is occupied by the strong. He writes In order to exist at all, slave morality from the outset always needs an opposing, outer world; in physiological terms, it needs external stimuli in order to act its action is fundamentally reaction (Genealogy of Morals 22). The morality of the strong is precisely the antithesis of this: it justifies itself by reaffirming the strength of itself they justify their behaviors by reaffirming their own lives, not by placing their lives in juxtaposition with the lives of the weak. Nietzsche expands this, saying The opposite is the case with the aristocratic mode of evaluation: this acts and grows spontaneously, it only seeks out its antithesis in order to affirm itself more thankfully and more joyfully (Genealogy 22). What fascists fail to recognize, however, is that fascism does not transcend the need to fight an opposing force it does not exist without some external stimuli to which the fascists are always responding. The Jews are constructed as the epitome of this slave morality ; they are the weak people subjected by the aristocratically strong fascists. It opens with a first theme in F (same as key signature). The theme is four bars long; two bars of antecedant, two bars of consequent. Mozart then starts the first theme again with a 32nd note run pick up instead of the 16th note arpeggio pick up in the the begginning of the piece so we are prepared for variation in the second statement of the first theme. The I chord confuses the tonal direction becasuse the listener expects the ii to be followed by V and then I. This is even more confusing because the scale that accompanies the I chord implies V (the chord the listener wants to hear). The next bar rounds off this cadential prolongation (ii V I) but the exposition does not yet end. The arrival to I does not occur until beat three of the bar. The first two beats create even more prolongation as they nearly modulate. And even after this, the exposition is not done. There is a two bar codetta (a one bar figure played twice, the second time with variation) before the strong V7 I cadence with a C pedal tone. This is the first very strong cadence since the start of the closing material. Since the cadence at the end of the exposition is to C without any hint of F as a tonic, the Developement begins in C. In fact, it is clearly in C as its pick ups are a C arpeggio and the first bar looks and sounds like I and shows no indication of a Bb or any other scale alteration. The opening of the developement is also a textural change but seems to resemble old material in its melody. Both the first theme and the second theme have similar figures to the new material. In the third bar the harmonic rythym increases with a I64 for the first two beats and a V7 in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Herman Group awards a certificate to employers titled the Employer of Choice Award when they are recognized for their leadership, culture and best practices that attract, optimize and hold top talent, achieving corporate objectives(Home, n.d.). An employer obtains this recognition by going through an application process that screens the company s employees. The Herman Group describes the award as people will want to work for you and will consciously stay with you even if they are being recruited from other agencies for more money or compensation. Many EOC companies have similar appeals where they attract and retain the best talent, but one employee s EOC many not be the same as another s (Healthfield, 2015) . According to the book, Human Resource Management, employees have different life choices and occupation paths at different stages of their career, (Lussier Hendon, 2016).
