Counterfeiting Of The United States
According to Alan Behr and Sarah Hsia The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection estimates
that counterfeiting costs the United States an estimated $200 billion each year (2007). Counterfeit
items come in several forms such as bags, money, software, movies, drugs and much more. Many
people fail to see that this practice as unethical and harmful towards the company who has
manufactured the original item. There are laws in the United States that prohibit people from
selling counterfeititems, but there are no punishable laws against the buyers. If there were laws
against people who buy counterfeit items, there could possibly be a drop in these items being sold
and distributed. Todd Barosky explains that: counterfeiting is one of the oldest crimes in
America...nearly two centuries of American history, from the introduction of paper money in the
British colonies of North America at the end of the seventeenth century, to the nationalization of
the currency by the federal government at the middle of the nineteenth century, experiences with
counterfeit money were both frequent and widely shared (2010). Counterfeiting does not only
happen in the United States, but in other parts of the world as well. Jills Jusko reported that back
in 2006, more than $155 million in counterfeit goods were seized by the U.S government. The
goods came from China, 81%, Hong Kong, 6%, Taiwan, 1%, Pakistan, 1%, Korea, 1%, and from
other places, 10% (2007). This causes a negative economic effect

Similes In There Will Come Soft Rains
In Bradbury s short story There Will Come Soft Rains there is an abnormal house that does
everything on a set time schedule. In this short story Bradbury uses similes to create setting in
his story. For example Then, like mysterious invaders, they popped into their burrows (Bradbury
1). This part of the story is talking about tiny mouse robots come out of the walls to come clean
up the house and go right back into their burrows. Using this simile helps give a good idea to the
reader of the setting by being able to see how tiny mouse come out to clean then back into their
burrows. Another simile Bradbury uses to show setting is There was the sound like a great matted
yellow hive of bees within a dark bellows, the lazy bumble of a purring

4G networks offer 10 or more times the data transmission rate of a 3G network. The data rates
available on a 4G network allow the cell phone to access information from the Internet as fast as a
land line connection.
b. Telephone Network Topology:
i. Demarcation Point
The demarcation point, also known as the Demarc, Network Interface Device (NID), or Minimum
Point of Entry (MPOE) serves several purposes: It is the point that defines the end of the telephone
company s wiring, and the beginning of your wiring. It defines where the telephone company s
responsibility for maintenance ends and your responsibility begins.
It contains a surge suppressor to help protect the wiring and connected equipment in your facility
from damage It allows you to temporarily disconnect your wiring from the telephone company s
wiring for troubleshooting purposes.

Theoretical Calculation And Results Analysis Essay
3.2 Theoretical calculation and results analysis
Firstly, we established a trench assisted optical fiber model to verify the ability of the trench
structure to reduce the bending loss. The specific parameters of the model are listed below: the
radius of fiber a is 4.1Ојm, the thickness of inner clad b is 4.13Ојm, the trench width c is 11.3Ојm,
the difference of trench refractive index ∆n_trench is 0.0048, the refractive index of fiber core
nco is 1.45, the refractive index of clad ncl is 1.445, the curvature radius of fiber is 5cm, the
wavelength is 1550nm.
Putting above values in the given formula: О±_macro=10/lnвЃЎ10 ((ПЂV^8)/(16ПЃR_c W^3
))^(1/2) expвЃЎ( (4R_c ∆W^3)/(3П

∆=(n_max^2 n_min^2)/(2n_co^2 ), f=(n(r)^2 n_min^2)/(n_max^2 n_min^2 )
The results of calculation are showed below:
Bending loss of the fiber О±=0.0092dB/loop, the equivalent step index fiber cladding refractive
index n_e=1.4444, bending loss of it О±_e=0.0829dB/loop.
This example shows that in the same transmission condition, the auxiliary trench structure can
greatly reduce the bending loss of the optical fiber. After calculating bend loss optical fiber trench
assisted by an equivalent step fiber method, we will discuss the impact of parameters of each trench
structure on the optical fiber transmission performance in detail.
The model we studied has been showed in figure 14, and the default

The Problems Of The Tableau Procedure
As we mentioned in the introduction section, one of the time problems related to the Tableau
procedure is checking if the branch is closed or not. The ordinary way for checking if a branch is
closed is known as highly time cost process. We need an intelligent and simple way to construct
and check the branches. One way, is to use ordered branches (i.e. to put the negated predicates in
the branchfirst, and then not negated ones), but we still have a problem if the number of negated
elements is much greater than the not negated ones. The following scenario is possible in this case,
If we choose to check if the list contains neg X and X, if neg X is the last element in the negative
ones, and X is the last element in the not negated ones, we have to process all the elements of the
negated ones and in each time we process an element we start from the beginning of the list and
process the whole branch to check if its not negated element is exist. Of course, a lot of time is
consumed before tableau reaches neg X, and finds out that X is exist. branch. The third predicate
closed / 1 check the lists in the branch if the negative one is shorter than the positive on the
predicate checks if neg X is a member of the first list and X is a member of the second list;
otherwise it checks if X is in the positive list and neg
X in the negative one.
The fourth improvement, and the main idea of our implementation, is to use the multi threading
approach in implementing the tableau procedure.

Jane Eyre
Charlotte Bronte s Jane Eyre emerges with a unique voice in the Victorian period for the work
posits itself as a sentimental novel; however, it deliberately becomes unable to fulfill the genre, and
then, it creates an altogether divergent novel that demonstrates its superiority by adding depth of
structure in narration and character portrayal. Joan D. Peters essay, Finding a Voice: Towards a
Woman s Discourse of Dialogue in the Narration of Jane Eyrepositions Gerard Genette s theory of
convergence, which is that the movement of the fiction towards a confluence of protagonist and
narrator, is limited as the argument does not fully flesh out the parodies that Charlotte Bronte
incorporates into her work. I will argue that in the novel... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

hard hearted, bad woman? She has been unkind to you, no doubt, because, you see, she dislikes

done and said to you! What a singularly deep impression her injustice seems to have made on
your heart! No ill usage so brands its record on my feelings. Would you not be happier if you tried
to forget her severity, together with the passionate emotions it excited? (69)
Helen communicates in an elegant restrained form to the protagonist that all of Jane s passion is
unvirtuous as this perspective lacks insight in contrast with Jane who impulsively voices contempt
to Helen for being deficient in natural passion. Her dialogue speaks of love and blessing that
should be returned to individuals that desire to harm her. She uses questions in this passage to
suggest her superior language skill set. Burns may quote the Bible, may hold in high regard Miss
Scatcherd and may espouse the stereotypical masculine traits of a novel, such as, well polished
diction, restraint of feeling, an emphasis on action, and a strong, seemingly objective, often directly
interposing, authorial narrative command (Peters 224), yet she loses her natural voice. Moreover,

Persuasive Essay On How To Apply Makeup
How to Apply Makeup: Step by Step We all hit the age of first wanting to wear makeup, but we
all run into the same problem. How do we apply it? There are so many steps and products to use
but not everyone knows what to use or how to apply it. You can find many videos online of girls
doing their makeup, but today I will explain a step by step process of how to apply it and what
tools you should use. The very first step you should do is wash your face. This step should be
done every time before doing makeup. Before you ever do your makeup you should have a clean
canvas before you start applying products to your face. If you have dry, flaky patches on your
skin, you could exfoliate. Most exfoliating scrubs have small rough microbeads in them. As you
rub the scrub onto your face in circular motions, it will remove the dry patches. By doing this, it
will help to make your foundation go on smoother. After you wash your face, you will want to
apply a moisturizer, another extremely important step. The moisturizer will nourish all of the dry
patches that the exfoliator could not remove. Moisturizers are made for every skin type. For
example, there are moisturizers for oily skin, dry skin, combo skin, and nighttime and daytime.
You should pick a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin type. You only need to apply a dime
size amount to your entire face. If you apply too much, the excess moisturizer will sit on top of
your skin and not sink in. You will want to let the moisturizer

Pirates Relationship In Treasure Island
These scenes are different, as in the setting and the way they happen in the story. However,
pages 13 14 and 34 35 do share a common idea about the pirates relationships and views of one
another. On pages 13 and 14, the interaction between Black Dog and the captain is friendly at
first, but quickly escalates to violence once they begin arguing and soon after, fighting each
other. Black Dog and Bill were old shipmates, which would make the reader assume that they
would have a strong bond, or at least still somewhat of a friendship. This excerpt from the chapter
explains that the pirates obviously did not feel a sense of kindness for one another. In the next
scene, on page 34, when Pew insults the pirates and explains how he faced Bill, it shows that he
feels no sense of empathy or friendship to the pirates, not even the captain. When Pew makes an
attempt to attack the men, it helps show that he does not care for them. The pirates... Show more

The men in the story do work together to accomplish something, but it does not take much for
the pirates to turn against each other. For example, some of the characters, such as Pew or Jim,
want the captain s riches. Soon after the captain died, his crew began to backstab each other to
gain his wealth. The relationships of the pirates in the Golden Age of Piracy are not shown as
loyal team members. While the pirates are self centered, clearly they need and depend on each
other, otherwise it would be every man for himself. Why else would they still be together as a
crew if they did not need each other? The men act as a crew, but as soon as they discover treasure
or riches, they would without a doubt beat each other up to get to it. A reason the pirates do not
have good relationships is because they are using each other for their own survival, rather than
caring about one another s

Lake Toba Essay
1. Introduction 1.1. Toba Catastrophe Lake Toba is located in Sumatra, Indonesia (Figure 1). The
Toba Eruption was the last of three major eruptions, which occurred over the past million years,
creating a volcanic caldera1. The most recent eruption, also known as the Youngest Toba Tuff
erupted around 73,000 (В± 4000) years ago2. This created a global catastrophe that effected many
species, including humans. Many researchers have linked this even to the most recent bottleneck in
human evolution resulting in a dramatic drop in the human population to only about 3,000 to
10,000 in a very short period of time3. 1.2 Definition of Supereruption The term supereruption was
introduced after the Toba eruption in 1992 to describe the devastating effects that occurred5. To
this date, there is no strict definition however; an eruption that can produce over 300 cubic
kilometers of magma would have global consequences and therefore, be considered super 6. The
volume of magma that erupted from Toba was much greater than any other eruption previously
recorded2. The fragmental deposit from such a large eruption can produce volumes of 1000km3 or
greater7. Therefore, according to this definition, the latest eruption of Toba can definitely be
considered a supereruption. 1.3 Comparison to Yellowstone Eruptions Figure 2 compares the
volume of material erupted from several different eruptions and it is clear the Yellowstone eruptions
were of significant size. Three of the eruptions

James Bond Influence On American Films
Cinematically, Bond has been a major influence within the spy genre since the release of Dr. No
in 1962,[190] with 22 secret agent films released in 1966 alone attempting to capitalise on the
Bond franchise s popularity and success.[191] The first parody was the 1964 film Carry On
Spying, which shows the villain Dr. Crow being overcome by agents who included James Bind
(Charles Hawtry) and Daphne Honeybutt (Barbara Windsor).[192] One of the films that reacted
against the portrayal of Bond was the Harry Palmer series, whose first film, The Ipcress File was
released in 1965. The eponymous hero of the series was what academic Jeremy Packer called an
anti Bond ,[193] or what Christoph Lindner calls the thinking man s Bond .[194] The Palmer series

The Pros And Cons Of Student Athletes
Dean Clark Carter, I am a junior student here at Charleston Southern University. I write in regards
to an issue I have noticed on campus and would like to bring to your attention; should student
athletes receive special academic treatment? I believe that CSU should hold a student forum about
this issue so that all students gain knowledge about the topic, can share and debate opinions, and
create possible solutions.
In my past two years at CSU, I have heard student athletes argue both for and against receiving
special treatment. As Lombardi et al. mentions, the NCAA places academic criteria that student
athletes must meet in order to stay on their team, play games, and receive scholarships. Rules from
the NCAA and CSU are in place to keep athletes held accountable to academic standards in order to
play. According to the Charleston Southern UniversityStudent Handbook, if an athlete is found
to have participated in academic dishonesty, on the first offence he or she must sit out of 20% of
games played (10). The problem arises when alleged stories are spread around campus that
athletes are handed good grades by teachers in order to stay on their team. On the opposing side,
if grades start to slip, athletes will be put on academic probation and are not allowed to play until
grades improve. This is an example that the NCAA rules do apply and athletes do get punished for
not holding up their end of the bargain.
From an outside perspective, non athletic students on campus can be

Lakota Indians Essay
Lakota History Throughout North American expansion the Lakota people have suffered some of

the poorest if not the poorest conditions in the United States. This is sad for a people who use to
be one of the strongest nations in the Central Plains, feared by white men and other Indian nations

dominance because of their success in controlling live¬stock, land, trading rights, and people.

Hot Site Research Paper
Hot Site
Hot site is the solution to provide immediate recovery, so it is called mirrors of the datacenter
infrastructure (Aparicio, 2011). Furthermore, recovery of data and applications is done through a
fully redundant data center configuration. Hot site can be done continuously, so it allows to
employees to continue with operations (Aparicio, 2011). Hot site should be included hardware,
software, network, and internet connection. Data backup and replication to hot site is done in a
regular basis, so that it can be made completely operational in a minimum time after a disaster. To
avoid any disaster effect on hot site, it should be located far from the original site (Aparicio, 2011).
Warm Site
Warm site is another solution of disaster planning, however it is different than the hot site. The
warm site uses network, server, power, phone and other resources. Furthermore, warm site
allows pre install the software and pre configured bandwidth needs (Hobbs, 2005). So, if disaster
occurs, just have to load the software to restore data in the business. However, a warm site does
not provide immediate switch over like hot site, but warm site gives solution in less cost. Another
difference between hot site and warm site is that, hot site provides replication of data, whereas
warm site makes server ready to install the software (Hobbs, 2005). ... Show more content on

Women In Beowulf Essay
The Hero s of Beowulf
After reading Beowulf, critics all over have disputed weather women in the book had a role in such
a masculine and brutal environment and time period. The argument is most likely due to the hero
being a male, thus minimizing woman s roles. Though their appearance is limited through out the
play, we can discover they have significant importance still. In this essay, I will offer insight on
several women and their significance in Beowulf, providing evidence of how they do serve a
central role. A number of women revealed in the play are: Wealtheow, Hygd, Hildeburh, Freawaru,
Thyrth and Grendal s mother. Within this elite group of women are two queens known as Hygd and
Wealtheow. Both are wedded to kings which,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Following Grendal s death, Wealtheow gives a celebratory speech to Hrothgar and then Beowulf.
She makes sure that Beowulf does not become the heir, and tries to make Hrothulf inherit this
position. This goes to show that she is looking out for herself by not letting someone from outside
the family take over. Hrothgar does not have any further imput and does not dispute the
suggestion, thus suggesting she has some influence on the king. When she addresses Beowulf,
she tells him to accept the gift she gives to him. Through this gesture we can suggest that she is a
great hostess. Also, in Old English, noble women tended to give gifts which showed reciprocity.
To finish off her speech, she reveals confidence as she says the noble men, having drunk, will do as
I ask. (652)
This line strongly suggests her dominance in the kingdom. Yet again, we see political power
among women when Hygd tries to pass the kingdom onto Beowulf. After his death, she steps in
and tries to make important decisions that her late husband would have made. These examples all
show that these women in the play are not benign at all. These women host men in the hall, give
gifts, and even have a say in politics

down. Estrogenconcentrations in the body decrease post menopause which is why women suffer
from osteoporosis later in life (Parl, 2000). Estrogen utilizes a positive feedback loop by increasing
the production of gonadotropin releasing hormone in the hypothalamus which then increases the
release of FSH and lutenizing hormone. This increase in FSH and LH prepare the uterus... Show

Testosterone is released from the leydig cells and circulates the body. Like estrogen, testosterone can
enter the target cell, bypassing the cell membrane and is transported to the nucleus by a carrier
protein. Testosterone is also a transcription factor in which testosterone binds to genes and
influences the function. Depending on the type of cell, testosterone can be converted into another
form before reaching the nucleus. Only about seven percent of circulating testosterone is converted
to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and less than one percent is converted to estrogen. Testosterone first
takes effect in the womb, allowing male reproductive organs to differentiate from female organs.
The presence or absence of testosterone determines whether a baby will be male or female. At the
onset of maturity, testosterone also signals other cells in the testes to begin production of sperm.
Secondary sex characteristics include hair distribution on the face and body, the deepening of the
voice as testosterone causes a growth in the larynx, induced male pattern fat distribution, bone
growth, increase in sex drive and behavior. The hypothalamus regulates the amount of testosterone
circulating the body by releasing follicle stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone (Nieschlag,
Behre, and Nieschlag, 2012). Testosterone utilizes a negative feedback loop by acting upon the
hypothalamus to inhibit GnRH release and on the pituitary

Gold Coast Drivers Case Study
Problem Statement
How can Gold Coast drivers contribute to the sustainability of the Great Barrier Reef whilst idling
in traffic congestion?
Gold Coast vehicle owners are currently faced with concerns relating to the amount of carbon
emissions being released into the atmosphere whilst idling in traffic congestion. This is highlighted
through their daily, lengthy car journeys caused by the increase in population. Although these
carbon emissions have a direct impact on the immediate environment it is also contributing to the
decline of coral growth on the Great Barrier Reef.
Situated along the Queensland coastline the Great Barrier Reef stretches 2,300km from the north of
Bundaberg to the tip of northern Queensland, making it the largest living structure in the world
(Zell, 2012). The threat of ocean acidification from carbon emissions whilst idling in traffic
congestion on the Gold Coast is contributing to the pH balance in the ocean to become more acidic

Iwo Jima Essays
Iwo Jima Victory was never in doubt. Its cost was. What was in doubt was whether there would
be any of us left to dedicate our cemetery at the end, or whether the last Marine would die

The Japanese had it made. They had all they needed in their caves. You would of thought that the
Japanese would have paid a bunch of money to fortify the island but they really did not. The had
many of the Empire s most gifted mining engineers to dig tunnels throughout the volcanic
mountains. It took them no time to have miles of tunnels running through the mountains. These
tunnels made it easy for the Japanese to move from one position to the other. But life was not to
great in the caves because the United States Seventh Air Force bombers dropped bombs on them
daily in hope to soften them up before the massive invasion. Another helpful aspect to the
Japanese was the sand on the beaches. The sand wasn t like in paradise. It was black and loose
making running across the beachhead very difficult. The only flaw to the island that did not help
the Japanese was the surf. The surf was too rough to plant anti boat mines. The entire island is flat
except for the promontory of Mount Suribachi, and extinct volcano, which is 556 feet high in the
southern portion of the island. (Siefring 117) The invasion with this type of landscape was not as
easy as one would think. One Naval officer suggested that the invasion of this island would cost
only fifteen thousand Marine casualties. His Navy companions thought that he would be way off.

Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso is my choice because of 2 things; First is that anything that starts with the letter P
(like my name) usually goes well with me and second, because I am fascinated by the fact that
Picasso didn t do a different type of work aside from the current period he was in. For example,
he didn t use warm bright colors in his Blue period. It s fascinating to me because my artistic
movements don t concentrate on a particular medium and mood within a particular amount of time;
I am a very miscellaneous artist. The works I have chosen are, The Old Guitarist and Jacqueline

Jay Gatsby, an exotic millionaire philanthropist, has everything and anything a man could ever
need. He lives a life most could only dream of. A life full of massive parties, sports cars,
mansions, and booze. Yet he is missing something, he is missing the only thing that could make
him truly happy, to live a life with Daisy Buchanan. He knew that when he kissed this girl, and
forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again
like the mind of God. (pg 119). He was in love with Daisy, and he opened up to her, only to lose
her to Tom who had the money to support her. Money could not buy Gatsby happinessand finally
ends up destroying him.
Wealth has both benefits and dangers. Extreme wealth has the power to allow someone almost
unlimited potential, however wealth can easily corrupt and change a person for the worse. Once
someone has a taste of wealth they always want more. A prime example of this is the Wilsons,
Myrtle and George. They both die because they truly believed money could buy them happiness.
[Tom] What do you want money for, all of a sudden? [George] I ve been here too long. I want to
get away. My wife and I want to go west. Your wife does! exclaimed Tom, startled. [George]She s
been talking about it for ten years. He rested for a moment against the pump, shading his eyes.
And now she s going whether she wants to or not. I m going to get her away (pg 131).

The Steam Railway And The Invention Of The Modern Age
The steam railway was a significant invention in the development of the modern age. I believe that
the steam engine was the most important invention to come from the industrial revolution. The
expansion of the railway system across the United States and the world influenced how we live our
lives today. Throughout the industrial revolutionthe steam railway reduced the time it took for
freight to reach its final destination, expanded the reach people could sell products too, provided a
safer transport compared to horses, along with countless other things. The steam railway better
connected people and helped fuel the second industrial revolution. Without it our world might look

Subsequently, the steam railway saved fifty thousand working days of ten hours each was
saved. This translates to me as a huge savings in time and money to travel. This is also assuming
that people are only saving just 1 hour. Cars were not around at this time, so if people traveling
were going further than this the number of hours saved might be exponentially bigger than what
was estimated. Britain is much a significantly smaller country than that of the United States, and
if it took into consideration the time is would take to travel by horse across the country
compared to steam railway the time would be tremendously bigger. This time saved could be
more than human savings it could also mean the reduction it takes cargo to travel by railways
compared to horses. Consequently, cargo would also arrive safer because roads during this time
were not like what they were today. Often times the horse cart would break a wheel or get stuck
in the mud. Roads at this time were not reliable and were not always well maintained. Also, this
would lead to construction projects taking much less time than it previously would. This once
more would save time in how long the project took, and save money paying workers to build the
project. Overall, this savings in time , safer cargo travel, and overall improvements in the quality
of life shaped by the steam railway system would be felt for numerous years to

Cv Accident Or Stroke Essay
CVA: Cerebrovascular accident or stroke
A CVA is a neurologic emergency that occurs when a blood vessel carrying oxygen and nutrients
to the brain is either blocked by a clot (ischemic stroke) or bursts (hemorrhagic stroke). A CVA
may also be referred to as a brain attack. As reported by Quick Reference to Occupational Therapy
(2014), a physical exam of the patient leads the physician to suspect a CVA and to gauge
impairments on a functional scale through confirmation from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),
computed tomography (CT), cerebral angiography, or electroencephalography (EEG). Blood tests
for bleeding and clotting disorders may also be performed. Cardiac monitoring may show atrial
fibrillation or other arrhythmias (Reed, 2014).
Etiology: There are 2 types of strokes: Hemorrhagic and Ischemic. A Hemorrhagic strokeis when a
brain aneurysm bursts or a weakened blood vessel leaks. According to the National Stroke
Association (2016), about 15% strokes are hemorrhagic strokes per year. It is the least common
type of stroke, but most often results in death 40% of the time. When a hemorrhagic stroke occurs,
blood spills into or around the brain, and creates swelling and pressure which then damages cells
and tissue in the brain. There are 2 types of hemorrhagic strokes: an intracerebral hemorrhage
happens when a blood vessel in the brain bursts and spills into the surrounding brain tissue,
damaging brain cells. A subarachnoid hemorrhage happens when an artery

Why Did Children Join Communism
Education of Soviet Youth and Expansion of Economic Education
Today the word communist often has a negative connotation, however, this was not always the
case. This brings to question why did children choose to join the Communist Party between the
years of 1917 to 1936? In the Soviet Union between those years youth were educated to devoutly
pledge allegiance as well as fight for a common cause, communism. Starting education at a young
age, through propaganda posters and school curriculum, influencing and sabotaging a child s
perception was made easier. This aided in recruiting many Soviet youth for the communist party.
By analyzing one propaganda poster from the year 1924 titled Always Prepared! The Next Shift...

Including black and white as the only colors beside red makes the red pop out more, making it
the focus of the poster. Red became popular beginning in the French Revolution when
revolutionist were depicted wearing a red phrygian cap, creating a stigma of rebellion. Developing
from this idea of rebellion, Russians used red to empower communism, having it represent the
blood of the workers who died in the struggle against capitalism 4. The word red in Russian
красивый is also very similar to the word beautiful in Russian красный 5
indicating that communism is the beautiful cause that needs to be worked for. Children
constantly seeing red would be taught that communism is a must and they should join the
communist party. As well as color symbolism the images depicted on the columns of the
propaganda poster must also be examined to understand what they taught children of the Soviet.
In one image three children are portrayed fixing a windowsill, which helps to indicate that
children are included in the working class, so fighting for liberation of the working class will
also include self liberation. Another image showcases a Soviet child with his arms around two
foreigners, in the photo all participants are smiling representing joy. This adds to the idea of
liberation of peasants worldwide. Communist want socialism to spread globally so linking
communism to happiness and broadcasting universality by having foreigners depicted teaches
children to evangelize communism, helping it spread. The next image that must be addressed is
the one illustrating a child hard at work in front of a desk filled with books. This teaches Soviet
youth that education is key to liberation. To properly fight for the cause, they must be well
informed and educated. The final image that should be analyzed is one representing a

Toilet Training
There are some of the things that make potty training hard for kids with autism spectrum disorder
and one of the biggest, or most obvious, is the fact that many kids with ASD are more broadly
developmentally delayed and it certainly interferes with their learning in all domains, but there are
things that are more specific to ASD, such as communication difficulties. It is difficult to tell
someone that one needs to go potty if one is having trouble communicating (Kiddoo et al. 2006)
and it is also difficult for us to communicate to the child with autism what the importance of going
potty is or what they are supposed to do. Another thing is sensory issues and there is a lot of
sensory stimulation and input around the toileting routine. Some of... Show more content on

The book is a well researched supported intervention because it is very structured, straightforward,
all the procedures are laid out, and it is easy to take data and track progress. There are different
components in the toilet training procedure. First, we start off with having the child not wear
diapers anymore and transitioning them into underwear (Cocchiola, Martino, Dwyer, Demezzo,
2012). We then put the child on a toileting schedule, so setting up a routine where every 20 or 40
minutes we are taking the child to the toilet. Next, we increase their fluid intake by which the
child will go to the bathroom frequently (Cocchiola et al. 2012) and can practice what they are
supposed to do and the learning will increase as well. Furthermore, by increasing the fluid intake
we are increasing the probability that the child is going to go to the bathroom in the toilet and
we are increasing the probability that we are going to have a coincidence, so when we put the
child on the toilet every 20 minutes, one of those times the child is finally going to go. Thus,
giving us the desired behavior and this is difficult because this is a behavior that we cannot
prompt and we have to wait for it to happen at the right time and then reinforce the child for it.
So, we are trying to essentially create a lot of probability that the child is going to go in the toilet
when we take them and then reinforce them for it, so a little bit of learning traction can happen.
Additionally, there is a dry pants check where it is a procedure where we check the child s pants
in between their trips to the toilet and if the pants are dry then we praise them for it, so that they
have the idea that staying dry is the right

Compassion Fatigue As A Synonym For Secondary Traumatic...
Introduction According to Coetzee and Hester (2010) compassion fatigue was adopted as a
synonym for secondary traumatic stress disorder. The aim of their 2010 concept analysis of the
topic was to further define compassion fatigue as it applies to the nursing practice. They describe
the process of compassion fatigue from just simply discomfort to compassion stress and finally
fatigue. (p.1) Their analysis describes how damaging compassion fatigue can be on a nurses ability
to provide compassionate care. The information is vital to the field of nursing and the outcomes
of our patients. Specifically, it plays an important role in my personal practice. It s a nurse
responsibility to provide compassion care for the ill. In the process nurses are exposed daily to
their patient s pain trauma, and their struggles. This and other factors such as unsafe work
conditions can take a toll on nurses and their functionality. As a mental health nurse one of the
biggest priority is to provide compassion. Working with such a vulnerable population with such
significant needs requires strong willed nurses who can come to work everyday with the sole
purpose to provide good care and compassion. This specialty is very challenging as there are many
barriers preventing patients and clients from getting the care they need which can be stressful on
their caregivers, especially nurses. This can cause what Joinson as introduced in 1992: compassion

It s being here now that s important. There s no past and there s no future. Time is a very

Although things can come from the past, they must be put to use in the know, and although we like

African Americans And African American Culture Essay
Exactly how black is black America? African American culture in the United States has evolved
continuously throughout United States history carrying on various cultural traditions of African
ethnic groups brought here during slavery. The U.S. Census Bureau defines African Americans as
a person having origins in any of the Black race groups of Africa. [1]. African Americanculture is
derived chiefly from people originated from sub Saharan and Sahelian cultures in Africa. Over
hundreds of years, black culture has partially been assimilated into western ideals in America.
However, despite the persistent persecutions of slave culture , the African influences brought here
has evolved and continues to be relevant through Black American artwork, literature, musical
production, cuisines, and language still present in their societies. These are all spirited by
influences of the Africa nation that originated the black culture here in present times.
Artwork has been an imperative part of Black culture, and many artist share their inspirations
coming from African origins. From the beginning of slave societies to present day, African America
artwork has contributed to large parts of United States artistic collection. Beginning in the early
1600 to 1800 black art took the form of small drums, quilts, wrought iron figures and ceramic

Environmental Impact Of Underwater Gold Mining

Environmental Impacts of Underwater Gold Mining The ocean covers over seventy percent of
the Earth s surface, yet humans know very little about it and its contents. With over half of the
species in the ocean still undiscovered, the ocean remains a mystery, with much more to be
learned about what it possesses. The ocean is home to not only life, but to natural resources.
Some of the resources possessed within the ocean are minerals, such as salt, sand, gravel, and
some manganese, copper, nickel, iron, cobalt, gold, diamonds, and silver [1]. Valuable crude oil is
drilled from the ocean floor, and the ocean continues to produce a significant amount of oxygen for

bottom of the sea floor approximately 1600 meters deep (about 1 mile). These SPTs are the

that the SPTs dislodge, creating this slurry filled with multiple precious and non precious

basically a big pump that sends the slurry up the Riser and Lifting System (RALS) and into the

the operation and where production starts. The slurry mixture, comprised of copper, gold, silver,

precious metals are used or sold to buyers throughout the world, and the sand and other non

The City Of The Great Metropolis
There was a house in the great Metropolis older than the city. Many said that it was older than the
cathedral, and that before the Archangel Michael raised his voice as advocate in the conflict for
God, the house stood there in its evil gloom, defying the cathedral from out its dull eyes.
The house had lived through the time of smoke and soot. Every year which passed over the city
crept, when dying, into this house, until at last the house was a cemetery filled with dead years.
Set into the black wood of the door stood, copper red and mysterious, the seal of Solomon, the

that word of its malignity went out over the borders of the city, spreading far over the land. At

the thieves and the rogues, who were promised remission of their sentence provided they declared
themselves ready to pull down the magician s house, preferred to go to the pillory, or even to the

The little town around the cathedral became a large town and grew into Metropolis, and into the

One day there came to the town a man from far away, who saw the house and said, I want to have

He was initiated into the story of the house. He did not smile. He stood by his resolution. He

authority of the new Consular regime. In 1801, Napoleon signed the Concordat with Pope Pius VII.
It recognized Catholicism as the main religion of France, but at the same time gave religious
freedom to those who were not Catholic. In many articles in the Concordat, you see where the
State has preference over the Church. In Article Six, it calls for bishops to take an oath to the
First Consul, and in Article Eight, a prayer to the Republic will be repeated at the end of divine
office. Napoleon is able to have control over the Catholic Church without committing himself or
any of his subjects to any certain religion. On December 2, 1804, Napoleon used the Concordat to
his advantage when consecrating himself the new emperor. Napoleon I s coronation did not
include the traditional sacramental rites of other imperial or royal coronations, which
meaningfully indicated a decrease in the papal role in consecrating the new emperor. This
symbolic act meant that Napoleon did not owe his crown to anyone, and that the Pope was not a
higher power than he. In the end, Napoleon created a France free of prejudice, so that the French
people could worship who they wanted

Illegal Street Racing
Illegal Street Racing
It would seem that the import car scene is becoming one of the largest trends in the automotive
industry since the introduction of the assembly line. Nearly every manufacturer of vehicles has a
sport compact car in the market. Teenagers and other young adults are customizing and souping
these cars up for purposes that no car was intended for, illegal street racing. These speed contests on
public roads are a danger to anything and everything on the roads, including the driver. The
problem is these adolescents think it is fun to and show off their cars and race. They neglect the fact
that there are alternatives to illegal street racing, like the drag strip. They also ignore the major
consequences involved with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Los Angeles has even formed a special street racing task force and is attacking these racers at
full throttle. The unit gave out 259 citations at one location in one weekend (Wood). The
Toronto police have also formed there own program called P.A.C.E.R., Police and Community
Educating Racers. Toronto is ranked among the highest in North America for illegal speed
contest with several hundred local participants, hundreds more that are drawn there from all
over Southern Ontario and the United States, plus the hundreds more in attendance. The
program has already cited many drivers; one weekend saw as many as 401 charged including
twenty five criminal charges. Most of the offenses were committed by people holding G1 and
G2 licenses, which happen to be the least experienced behind the wheel ( Street Racers ). But
drivers are not the only ones the law is after, spectators of these races are also being ticketed.
Laws have been passed saying that just watching a race can be punishable by a $250 fine. The
Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee is now trying to pass a law making it
misdemeanor and punishable by six months in jail and a one thousand dollar fine for being a
spectator to a race on public streets. Councilman Ralph Inzunza Junior says, We have to do
something that s very strong, that s going to get people s attention. Spectators are said to be the
antagonist behind racing. They will trash talk and use peer pressure

2008 brought some problems for MGM. On October 29th of that year, MGM reported a sixty
seven percent plunge in third quarter earnings, due mostly in part to lagging revenues from its
Las Vegas properties. On that same day, MGM decided to halt a five million dollar Atlantic City
project which was to be built on land next to Borgata Hotel and Casino. Shortly after this
announcement, New Jersey gambling regulators were set to deny MGM s suitability to operate
casinos in New Jersey. This was due mainly in part to their partner, Pansy Ho, who New Jersey
regulators believed could not operate independently of her father, Stanley Ho. This forced
MGM to sell their New Jersey property, Borgata Hotel and Casino, which was a highly profitable
piece of business. Finally, at the end of 2008, MGM decided to sell its Las Vegas Treasure Island
property. Around the same time, MGM also introduced Jim Murren as their new CEO. Murren was
behind many of the major acquisitions that helped transform MGM and had been repeatedly
honored as the gaming and lodging industry s top CFO by Institutional Investor magazine. This
promotion came at an important time as MGM had fallen on some hard times. The start of 2009
was no better for MGM. In March, Dubai World and its wholly owned subsidiary Infinity World
filed a lawsuit claiming that MGM breached its CityCenter joint venture agreement after the
company filed

Who Invented The Berlin Wall In The 1980 s
This is about the 1980s, but don t worry! This is commercial free! A lot of events happened in
the 1980s, just like officially putting commercials onto the television, but more important events
happened too. From scientific advancements to just generally enjoyable movies, the eighties just
so happen to hold the truth behind how the berlin wall really went down, who actually found the
first exoplanet, and just how great a well known movie was when it first came out. The Building
of Berlin Wall The berlin wall was and always will be an important moment in history, and the
cold wars. Many were affected and even killed by the simple aspect of a wall . Originally, Nikita
khrushchev rejected the request to built the wall, in 1953, but relented in the end because of
how many people crossing a day, by 1961. Even John Fitzgerald Kennedy agreed that It s not a
very nice solution, but a wall is a heck lots better than a war . Life or Death The wall was built
from two concrete walls, each one hundred and sixty yards long, with hundreds of watch towers,
and other trap mechanisms. Because of these trap mechanisms people had to become more creative

Chonging Case Study
Choking is something that is very common in all sport and most athletes or teams would have
heard about it and possible experienced it themselves. Choking in a broad sense means a team
or a single athlete that may have been highly favoured to win a certain event or a grand finale,
gets to the day when the need to preform and simply chokes or is unable to perform the task that
may have been so simple to them in the first place, someone who has choked multiple times is
commonly referred to as a choke artist. Choking can happen to anyone that plays a sport or is
relied upon to achieve a goal, I can happen to any level of team or athletes weather it is in an
under twelves soccer grand final or the NBA playoffs but there are many ways to manage... Show

All though it may sound very simple choking can be avoided in a very simple way, just by
practising over and over again just like the time old saying practise makes perfect , although this
will never truly guarantee you will not choke when the situation comes around. Although it does not
happen every day in high level sport choking has happened enough to worry many high level
athletes and put the fear into their mind that choking could happen to them. No matter how good an
athlete in physically they need to be just as strong mentally for them not to have the thought of
choking in their mind because the more they stress and over think about the situation the more
likely it is for them to choke or make a mistake. Some athletes try to avoid choking by
visualization which is the visual representation of what it is they need to do, for example if it was
a basketball player trying to make a free throw they may visualize themselves actually going
through the steps they need to take to make the shot, but this technique can really only work on a
closed skill because something s in sport are unpredictable and you never know when that situation
will arise. Some team sport activities if worried about choking in a final or an important match will
sometimes treat

Hinduism and the God Shiva Essay
Hinduism is a religious tradition compromising of the beliefs and practices of Hindus. The
majority of Hindus choose a personal deity who they feel a personal connection with. One can
show devotion of a deity in many ways including prayer, ceremonial worship, chanting and even
visiting a site sacred to that deity. For my art project I wanted to choose a deity that I could
personally connect with, I chose the Hindu deity Shiva. Some of Shiva s characteristics are
devotion, self confidence as a motivating force, selfless service, and achieving balance on all
levels. These are all characteristics and values that I find important. I would especially like to work
on the ability to balance the mind, body and spirit, which is where my... Show more content on

Essence, Activity and Inertia, is the trident of gunas which are Shiva s main attributes: one can
regulate these through ayurvedic cooking. Shiva is also the God of Yogis, a practice of mind,
body and consciousness; where life force is regulated by breath, and breath energy is controlled by
the mind. These are all different ways one can show devotion to Shiva and provide a path to
religious understanding.
Shiva is easy, light and graceful, he is self controlled and celibate. At the same time he is lover
of Shakti, goddess of destroying demonic forces and restoring the balance. He was lover to his
two previous wives, Sati and Kali. Shiva s first wife was his beloved Sati. He was married to her
against her father s wishes. Shiva fell in love with her giving nature, her patience and radiant
personality. Meanwhile, her father organized a gathering and invited everyone except Shiva; Sati
went uninvited, and her father humiliated her by insulting her lord. Sati then proceeded to sit on
the floor, and with her mind fixed on Shiva, she controlled her breath which sparked her inner
fire until it consumed her. Shiva was extremely pained by Sati s death and can be seen dancing on
his ex father in law who is responsible for the death of his beloved Sati.
The Devine Mother Kali goddess of time and death was Shiva s

Speech On The Moon Landing
In history, one of the greatest achievement known to mankind is the Apollo 11 moon landing. On
July 20, 1969, the spaceflight known as the lunar module Eagle, landed the first three humans on
the moon (NASA). The first human to step, and leave a footprint on the moon was mission
commander, Neil Armstrong. Climbing down the ladder, the words that he said are still
reminisced to this day, That s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind (NASA). The
other two who were also part of this accomplishment was the pilot, Edwin Buzz Aldrin, and
Michael Collins.
Before this historic triumph, almost a decade before it occurred, the 35th president of the Unites
States, John F. Kennedy, on May 25, 1961, he proposed to the world the ambitious goal to put a
man on the moon before the decade if out (Logsdon 37). John F. Kennedy truly believed that it
was only a matter of time for them to make it possible since their technology was already too
advanced. There has been so much more that humans have been capable of and landing on the
moon sure was going to be one of them. As technology advances, humans are capable of so much
more, such as discovering nuclear power, the invention of the television, satellites, and computers.
These have proven that the intellectual knowledge in humans keeps expanding every single day,
making it possible to make more discoveries and accomplishments. John F. Kennedy was not able
to witness such success because two years later, after his speech, he

  • 2. Counterfeiting Of The United States According to Alan Behr and Sarah Hsia The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection estimates that counterfeiting costs the United States an estimated $200 billion each year (2007). Counterfeit items come in several forms such as bags, money, software, movies, drugs and much more. Many people fail to see that this practice as unethical and harmful towards the company who has manufactured the original item. There are laws in the United States that prohibit people from selling counterfeititems, but there are no punishable laws against the buyers. If there were laws against people who buy counterfeit items, there could possibly be a drop in these items being sold and distributed. Todd Barosky explains that: counterfeiting is one of the oldest crimes in America...nearly two centuries of American history, from the introduction of paper money in the British colonies of North America at the end of the seventeenth century, to the nationalization of the currency by the federal government at the middle of the nineteenth century, experiences with counterfeit money were both frequent and widely shared (2010). Counterfeiting does not only happen in the United States, but in other parts of the world as well. Jills Jusko reported that back in 2006, more than $155 million in counterfeit goods were seized by the U.S government. The goods came from China, 81%, Hong Kong, 6%, Taiwan, 1%, Pakistan, 1%, Korea, 1%, and from other places, 10% (2007). This causes a negative economic effect ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this short story Bradbury uses similes to create setting in his story. For example Then, like mysterious invaders, they popped into their burrows (Bradbury 1). This part of the story is talking about tiny mouse robots come out of the walls to come clean up the house and go right back into their burrows. Using this simile helps give a good idea to the reader of the setting by being able to see how tiny mouse come out to clean then back into their burrows. Theoretical Calculation And Results Analysis Essay 3.2 Theoretical calculation and results analysis Firstly, we established a trench assisted optical fiber model to verify the ability of the trench structure to reduce the bending loss. The specific parameters of the model are listed below: the radius of fiber a is 4.1Ојm, the thickness of inner clad b is 4.13Ојm, the trench width c is 11.3Ојm, the difference of trench refractive index ∆n_trench is 0.0048, the refractive index of fiber core nco is 1.45, the refractive index of clad ncl is 1.445, the curvature radius of fiber is 5cm, the wavelength is 1550nm. Putting above values in the given formula: О±_macro=10/lnвЃЎ10 ((ПЂV^8)/(16ПЃR_c W^3 ))^(1/2) expвЃЎ( (4R_c ∆W^3)/(3П ЃV^2 )) [∫_0^в€ ћв–’гЂ–(1 f) F_0 RDRгЂ—]^2 /(∫_0^в€ ћв–’гЂ–F_0^2 RdRгЂ— ) Where V=k_0 ПЃв€ љ(n_max^2 n_min^2 ), W=ПЃв€ љ(ОІ^2 (k_0 n_min )^2 ), ∆=(n_max^2 n_min^2)/(2n_co^2 ), f=(n(r)^2 n_min^2)/(n_max^2 n_min^2 ) The results of calculation are showed below: Bending loss of the fiber О±=0.0092dB/loop, the equivalent step index fiber cladding refractive index n_e=1.4444, bending loss of it О±_e=0.0829dB/loop. This example shows that in the same transmission condition, the auxiliary trench structure can greatly reduce the bending loss of the optical fiber. • 8. The Problems Of The Tableau Procedure As we mentioned in the introduction section, one of the time problems related to the Tableau procedure is checking if the branch is closed or not. The ordinary way for checking if a branch is closed is known as highly time cost process. We need an intelligent and simple way to construct and check the branches. One way, is to use ordered branches (i.e. to put the negated predicates in the branchfirst, and then not negated ones), but we still have a problem if the number of negated elements is much greater than the not negated ones. The following scenario is possible in this case, If we choose to check if the list contains neg X and X, if neg X is the last element in the negative ones, and X is the last element in the not negated ones, we have to process all the elements of the negated ones and in each time we process an element we start from the beginning of the list and process the whole branch to check if its not negated element is exist. Of course, a lot of time is consumed before tableau reaches neg X, and finds out that X is exist. branch. The third predicate closed / 1 check the lists in the branch if the negative one is shorter than the positive on the predicate checks if neg X is a member of the first list and X is a member of the second list; otherwise it checks if X is in the positive list and neg X in the negative one. The fourth improvement, and the main idea of our implementation, is to use the multi threading approach in implementing the tableau procedure. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Persuasive Essay On How To Apply Makeup How to Apply Makeup: Step by Step We all hit the age of first wanting to wear makeup, but we all run into the same problem. How do we apply it? There are so many steps and products to use but not everyone knows what to use or how to apply it. You can find many videos online of girls doing their makeup, but today I will explain a step by step process of how to apply it and what tools you should use. The very first step you should do is wash your face. This step should be done every time before doing makeup. Before you ever do your makeup you should have a clean canvas before you start applying products to your face. If you have dry, flaky patches on your skin, you could exfoliate. Most exfoliating scrubs have small rough microbeads in them. As you rub the scrub onto your face in circular motions, it will remove the dry patches. By doing this, it will help to make your foundation go on smoother. After you wash your face, you will want to apply a moisturizer, another extremely important step. The moisturizer will nourish all of the dry patches that the exfoliator could not remove. Moisturizers are made for every skin type. For example, there are moisturizers for oily skin, dry skin, combo skin, and nighttime and daytime. You should pick a moisturizer that is suitable for your skin type. You only need to apply a dime size amount to your entire face. If you apply too much, the excess moisturizer will sit on top of your skin and not sink in. You will want to let the moisturizer ... • 13. Pirates Relationship In Treasure Island These scenes are different, as in the setting and the way they happen in the story. However, pages 13 14 and 34 35 do share a common idea about the pirates relationships and views of one another. On pages 13 and 14, the interaction between Black Dog and the captain is friendly at first, but quickly escalates to violence once they begin arguing and soon after, fighting each other. Black Dog and Bill were old shipmates, which would make the reader assume that they would have a strong bond, or at least still somewhat of a friendship. This excerpt from the chapter explains that the pirates obviously did not feel a sense of kindness for one another. In the next scene, on page 34, when Pew insults the pirates and explains how he faced Bill, it shows that he feels no sense of empathy or friendship to the pirates, not even the captain. When Pew makes an attempt to attack the men, it helps show that he does not care for them. The pirates... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The relationships of the pirates in the Golden Age of Piracy are not shown as loyal team members. Why else would they still be together as a crew if they did not need each other? The Toba Eruption was the last of three major eruptions, which occurred over the past million years, creating a volcanic caldera1. The most recent eruption, also known as the Youngest Toba Tuff erupted around 73,000 (В± 4000) years ago2. This created a global catastrophe that effected many species, including humans. Many researchers have linked this even to the most recent bottleneck in human evolution resulting in a dramatic drop in the human population to only about 3,000 to 10,000 in a very short period of time3. 1.2 Definition of Supereruption The term supereruption was introduced after the Toba eruption in 1992 to describe the devastating effects that occurred5. To this date, there is no strict definition however; an eruption that can produce over 300 cubic kilometers of magma would have global consequences and therefore, be considered super 6. The volume of magma that erupted from Toba was much greater than any other eruption previously recorded2. The fragmental deposit from such a large eruption can produce volumes of 1000km3 or greater7. I write in regards to an issue I have noticed on campus and would like to bring to your attention; should student athletes receive special academic treatment? I believe that CSU should hold a student forum about this issue so that all students gain knowledge about the topic, can share and debate opinions, and create possible solutions. In my past two years at CSU, I have heard student athletes argue both for and against receiving special treatment. As Lombardi et al. mentions, the NCAA places academic criteria that student athletes must meet in order to stay on their team, play games, and receive scholarships. Rules from the NCAA and CSU are in place to keep athletes held accountable to academic standards in order to play. According to the Charleston Southern UniversityStudent Handbook, if an athlete is found to have participated in academic dishonesty, on the first offence he or she must sit out of 20% of games played (10). The problem arises when alleged stories are spread around campus that athletes are handed good grades by teachers in order to stay on their team. On the opposing side, if grades start to slip, athletes will be put on academic probation and are not allowed to play until grades improve. This is an example that the NCAA rules do apply and athletes do get punished for not holding up their end of the bargain. From an outside perspective, non athletic students on campus can be ... • 20. Women In Beowulf Essay The Hero s of Beowulf After reading Beowulf, critics all over have disputed weather women in the book had a role in such a masculine and brutal environment and time period. The argument is most likely due to the hero being a male, thus minimizing woman s roles. Though their appearance is limited through out the play, we can discover they have significant importance still. In this essay, I will offer insight on several women and their significance in Beowulf, providing evidence of how they do serve a central role. A number of women revealed in the play are: Wealtheow, Hygd, Hildeburh, Freawaru, Thyrth and Grendal s mother. Within this elite group of women are two queens known as Hygd and Wealtheow. Both are wedded to kings which,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Following Grendal s death, Wealtheow gives a celebratory speech to Hrothgar and then Beowulf. She makes sure that Beowulf does not become the heir, and tries to make Hrothulf inherit this position. This goes to show that she is looking out for herself by not letting someone from outside the family take over. Hrothgar does not have any further imput and does not dispute the suggestion, thus suggesting she has some influence on the king. When she addresses Beowulf, she tells him to accept the gift she gives to him. Through this gesture we can suggest that she is a great hostess. Also, in Old English, noble women tended to give gifts which showed reciprocity. To finish off her speech, she reveals confidence as she says the noble men, having drunk, will do as I ask. (652) This line strongly suggests her dominance in the kingdom. Yet again, we see political power among women when Hygd tries to pass the kingdom onto Beowulf. After his death, she steps in and tries to make important decisions that her late husband would have made. These examples all show that these women in the play are not benign at all. The non reproductive functions of estrogen include reduction of LDL (bad cholesterol) and an increase in HDL (good cholesterol). Estrogen also preserves bone strength by slowing down cells involved in bone break down. Estrogenconcentrations in the body decrease post menopause which is why women suffer from osteoporosis later in life (Parl, 2000). Like estrogen, testosterone can enter the target cell, bypassing the cell membrane and is transported to the nucleus by a carrier protein. Testosterone is also a transcription factor in which testosterone binds to genes and influences the function. Depending on the type of cell, testosterone can be converted into another form before reaching the nucleus. Only about seven percent of circulating testosterone is converted to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and less than one percent is converted to estrogen. Testosterone first takes effect in the womb, allowing male reproductive organs to differentiate from female organs. The presence or absence of testosterone determines whether a baby will be male or female. At the onset of maturity, testosterone also signals other cells in the testes to begin production of sperm. Secondary sex characteristics include hair distribution on the face and body, the deepening of the voice as testosterone causes a growth in the larynx, induced male pattern fat distribution, bone growth, increase in sex drive and behavior. Gold Coast vehicle owners are currently faced with concerns relating to the amount of carbon emissions being released into the atmosphere whilst idling in traffic congestion. This is highlighted through their daily, lengthy car journeys caused by the increase in population. Although these carbon emissions have a direct impact on the immediate environment it is also contributing to the decline of coral growth on the Great Barrier Reef. Situated along the Queensland coastline the Great Barrier Reef stretches 2,300km from the north of Bundaberg to the tip of northern Queensland, making it the largest living structure in the world (Zell, 2012). Throughout the industrial revolutionthe steam railway reduced the time it took for freight to reach its final destination, expanded the reach people could sell products too, provided a safer transport compared to horses, along with countless other things. Cv Accident Or Stroke Essay CVA: Cerebrovascular accident or stroke A CVA is a neurologic emergency that occurs when a blood vessel carrying oxygen and nutrients to the brain is either blocked by a clot (ischemic stroke) or bursts (hemorrhagic stroke). A CVA may also be referred to as a brain attack. As reported by Quick Reference to Occupational Therapy (2014), a physical exam of the patient leads the physician to suspect a CVA and to gauge impairments on a functional scale through confirmation from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), cerebral angiography, or electroencephalography (EEG). Blood tests for bleeding and clotting disorders may also be performed. Cardiac monitoring may show atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias (Reed, 2014). Etiology: There are 2 types of strokes: Hemorrhagic and Ischemic. A Hemorrhagic strokeis when a brain aneurysm bursts or a weakened blood vessel leaks. According to the National Stroke Association (2016), about 15% strokes are hemorrhagic strokes per year. It is the least common type of stroke, but most often results in death 40% of the time. When a hemorrhagic stroke occurs, blood spills into or around the brain, and creates swelling and pressure which then damages cells and tissue in the brain. First, we start off with having the child not wear diapers anymore and transitioning them into underwear (Cocchiola, Martino, Dwyer, Demezzo, 2012). We then put the child on a toileting schedule, so setting up a routine where every 20 or 40 minutes we are taking the child to the toilet. Next, we increase their fluid intake by which the child will go to the bathroom frequently (Cocchiola et al. 2012) and can practice what they are supposed to do and the learning will increase as well. Furthermore, by increasing the fluid intake we are increasing the probability that the child is going to go to the bathroom in the toilet and we are increasing the probability that we are going to have a coincidence, so when we put the child on the toilet every 20 minutes, one of those times the child is finally going to go. Thus, giving us the desired behavior and this is difficult because this is a behavior that we cannot prompt and we have to wait for it to happen at the right time and then reinforce the child for it. In Article Six, it calls for bishops to take an oath to the First Consul, and in Article Eight, a prayer to the Republic will be repeated at the end of divine office. Napoleon is able to have control over the Catholic Church without committing himself or any of his subjects to any certain religion. On December 2, 1804, Napoleon used the Concordat to his advantage when consecrating himself the new emperor. Napoleon I s coronation did not include the traditional sacramental rites of other imperial or royal coronations, which meaningfully indicated a decrease in the papal role in consecrating the new emperor. This symbolic act meant that Napoleon did not owe his crown to anyone, and that the Pope was not a higher power than he. In the end, Napoleon created a France free of prejudice, so that the French people could worship who they wanted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On October 29th of that year, MGM reported a sixty seven percent plunge in third quarter earnings, due mostly in part to lagging revenues from its Las Vegas properties. On that same day, MGM decided to halt a five million dollar Atlantic City project which was to be built on land next to Borgata Hotel and Casino. Shortly after this announcement, New Jersey gambling regulators were set to deny MGM s suitability to operate casinos in New Jersey. This was due mainly in part to their partner, Pansy Ho, who New Jersey regulators believed could not operate independently of her father, Stanley Ho. This forced MGM to sell their New Jersey property, Borgata Hotel and Casino, which was a highly profitable piece of business. Finally, at the end of 2008, MGM decided to sell its Las Vegas Treasure Island property. Around the same time, MGM also introduced Jim Murren as their new CEO. Murren was behind many of the major acquisitions that helped transform MGM and had been repeatedly honored as the gaming and lodging industry s top CFO by Institutional Investor magazine. This promotion came at an important time as MGM had fallen on some hard times. The start of 2009 was no better for MGM. Choking in a broad sense means a team or a single athlete that may have been highly favoured to win a certain event or a grand finale, gets to the day when the need to preform and simply chokes or is unable to perform the task that may have been so simple to them in the first place, someone who has choked multiple times is commonly referred to as a choke artist. Choking can happen to anyone that plays a sport or is relied upon to achieve a goal, I can happen to any level of team or athletes weather it is in an under twelves soccer grand final or the NBA playoffs but there are many ways to manage... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All though it may sound very simple choking can be avoided in a very simple way, just by practising over and over again just like the time old saying practise makes perfect , although this will never truly guarantee you will not choke when the situation comes around. Although it does not happen every day in high level sport choking has happened enough to worry many high level athletes and put the fear into their mind that choking could happen to them. No matter how good an athlete in physically they need to be just as strong mentally for them not to have the thought of choking in their mind because the more they stress and over think about the situation the more likely it is for them to choke or make a mistake. Some athletes try to avoid choking by visualization which is the visual representation of what it is they need to do, for example if it was a basketball player trying to make a free throw they may visualize themselves actually going through the steps they need to take to make the shot, but this technique can really only work on a closed skill because something s in sport are unpredictable and you never know when that situation will arise. Some team sport activities if worried about choking in a final or an important match will sometimes treat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The majority of Hindus choose a personal deity who they feel a personal connection with. One can show devotion of a deity in many ways including prayer, ceremonial worship, chanting and even visiting a site sacred to that deity. These are all different ways one can show devotion to Shiva and provide a path to religious understanding. Shiva is easy, light and graceful, he is self controlled and celibate. At the same time he is lover of Shakti, goddess of destroying demonic forces and restoring the balance. He was lover to his two previous wives, Sati and Kali. Shiva s first wife was his beloved Sati. He was married to her against her father s wishes. Shiva fell in love with her giving nature, her patience and radiant personality. Meanwhile, her father organized a gathering and invited everyone except Shiva; Sati went uninvited, and her father humiliated her by insulting her lord. Sati then proceeded to sit on the floor, and with her mind fixed on Shiva, she controlled her breath which sparked her inner fire until it consumed her. Shiva was extremely pained by Sati s death and can be seen dancing on his ex father in law who is responsible for the death of his beloved Sati. • 45. Speech On The Moon Landing In history, one of the greatest achievement known to mankind is the Apollo 11 moon landing. On July 20, 1969, the spaceflight known as the lunar module Eagle, landed the first three humans on the moon (NASA). The first human to step, and leave a footprint on the moon was mission commander, Neil Armstrong. Climbing down the ladder, the words that he said are still reminisced to this day, That s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind (NASA). The other two who were also part of this accomplishment was the pilot, Edwin Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. Before this historic triumph, almost a decade before it occurred, the 35th president of the Unites States, John F. Kennedy, on May 25, 1961, he proposed to the world the ambitious goal to put a man on the moon before the decade if out (Logsdon 37). John F. Kennedy truly believed that it was only a matter of time for them to make it possible since their technology was already too advanced. There has been so much more that humans have been capable of and landing on the moon sure was going to be one of them. As technology advances, humans are capable of so much more, such as discovering nuclear power, the invention of the television, satellites, and computers. These have proven that the intellectual knowledge in humans keeps expanding every single day, making it possible to make more discoveries and accomplishments. John F. Kennedy was not able to witness such success because two years later, after his speech, he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
