Essay Health Care
Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay Health Care" can be quite challenging for several
reasons. Firstly, the subject of healthcare is vast and multifaceted, encompassing various aspects
such as policy, economics, ethics, and medical practice. Navigating through this complexity
requires extensive research and a deep understanding of the intricacies involved.
Secondly, the healthcare landscape is constantly evolving due to advancements in medical
technology, changes in healthcare policies, and shifting societal attitudes towards health and
wellness. Keeping up with these developments and ensuring that the essay remains relevant and
up-to-date can be a daunting task.
Furthermore, discussing healthcare often involves tackling sensitive and controversial issues
such as access to healthcare, disparities in healthcare delivery, the role of government versus the
private sector in healthcare provision, and the ethical dilemmas surrounding topics like
euthanasia or reproductive rights. Balancing differing viewpoints on these matters while
maintaining objectivity and coherence in the essay can be a significant challenge.
Moreover, writing about healthcare requires a strong grasp of scientific and medical terminology,
as well as the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely. This necessitates not
only proficient writing skills but also the ability to synthesize information from various sources
and present it in a coherent and structured manner.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on the topic of "Essay Health Care" demands extensive research,

Absurdity In The Stranger
World Literature

The Stranger Essay: Topic One The Stranger, written by a famous French philosopher
Albert Camus, tells a story of a young Algerian man, Meursault, who perceives his
life, values, behavioural norms differently from other people in his society.
Throughout the course of the rest of the novel, readers can easily notice Meursault as
a detached and indifferent character who shows difficulty in expressing his emotions.
However, by characterising Meursault in such ways, Camus indirectly challenges the
society s conventional moral standards and brings up the idea of absurdism
philosophy. By describing the actions of Meursault and minor characters, Camus
successfully conveys ideas such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This idea is clearly shown in part one when Meursault describes Raymond s
encounter with the policeman after the beating incident. Meursault describes, right
then the cop slapped him a thick, heavy smack right across the face ; this quote
clearly shows that concept of justice is flawed in this society because although people
criticises Raymond for hitting his mistress and calls the act immoral, they deem the
cop s action to be moral (36). Physically, both violence are nearly the same, yet one is
regarded as wrong, and the other, is justified. Through Meursault s interaction with
the policeman, Camus implicitly challenges the truth of society s accepted moral
order and the concept of justice. In addition, the trial scene in part 2 of the novel also
conveys this theme. Although Meursault s act of murder is a serious crime, it seems
as if the magistrate and the juries are not judging Meursault for his murder, but for his
indifferent behaviour toward Maman s death because the latter explanation makes
more sense to them. For example, when the magistrate gives his closing statement,
Meursault describes it was then that he talked about my attitude toward Maman. It
went on much longer than when he talking about my crime (100). In addition, the
magistrate claims that Meursault s indifferent reaction over Maman s death threatens
the moral
The Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Linear Bus
Topology
The Linear Bus Topology has all of the nodes connected to on single connection
medium which has two end points. This type of set up has multiple advantages,
such as it is easy to set up, it requires the least amount of cables, low cost, and it is
used for small LAN s. The distributed Bus Topology is a more complicated version
of a Bus network. Unlike the Linear Bus, the Distributed Bus has more than two end
points. This setup starts out looking like the linear bus with a main trunk cable that is
referred to as the root or head end. Multiple network nodes can be connected to this
main trunk line. The trunk cable branches off by a connector on the main trunk. This
type of Bus topology has more disadvantage than the linear bus topology. The

When a system transmits data, it sends the data to the central device. The central
device, which was a hub when the star network first came out, then broadcasts the
transmission out to all of the connected devices. This set up reduces the chance of
a network failure because if one node goes down, the network will still be up and
operational. However, if the central device goes down, then the entire network will
go down. The use of hubs has been removed from modern day networks because
they are essentially dumb devices. Since the hub will forward information to every
device that is connected to it, the chances of a collision occurring is pretty high. A
switch will learn the MAC address of the systems that is connected to it. Once a
switch has learned the MAC addresses of the systems that are connected, it will send
information that is intended for that system only to the port that the system is
connected to. This smart filtering that the switch performs drastically helps to
eliminate collisions on the star network. The star topology is the most popular
choice of networks due the easiness of setup and the lower costs of equipment. The
star network can use twisted pair, fiber, or coaxial cable as its network

Technology And Social Media Has Changed Our Lives
What does technology mean to you? I believe that technology is a tool that should
be integrated into our society to cultivate the future and resemble the past; it has
become such an integral part of our community today that living without it creates
a feeling of loneliness. Technology and Social Media has brought power back to
people (Mark McKinnon). Nowadays, technology has exceeded expectations of
people, such as a robot can mow a lawn, clean house, take you to parts of the world
without even visiting, is mesmerizing. I am one of the many students who did not
get an early exposure to technology, and I repent that every day, as they say, that a
child can learn, however many things he wants until seven years of age because his

Teachers need to understand that making kids memorize material will not develop
the skills necessary for them in the future workforce. A computer science faculty and
a graduate student at the University of Georgia, Karen Aguar, has created a website
called SAIL, which integrates the different subjects across the UGA campus. The
website is designed to track your progress, watch pre made videos on the topics, do
exercises on based on your interest. Partaking in this new research, I have realized
that the future of technology driven education is improving and it is created to adapt
to student s interest. As Marc Prensky stated, Technology would be introduced from
the start as a thinking extender through tools like simulation that show students the
consequences of their actions in a variety of contexts and circumstances. In addition,
the use of technology has made a great impact on students not only in America but
worldwide. The results that Khan Academy has produced by collaborating with the
College Board for SAT studying and videos is astonishing. The College Board
president states, if a student watches videos through Khan Academy for 20 hours,
then, he can score 115 average points higher than the student studying through the
books. With developing technology apps are creating a platform to change the

Midterm Essay Passing, by Nella Larsen
Passing, by Nella Larsen is a novel all about pretending to be something that you
are not. It is about giving everyone the impression that everything is in order when
in reality everything is falling apart. Passing in this novel refers to the ability of a
person to be classified as one thing, normally a social group, while belonging to a
different group. Passing is usually done to gain class or acceptance by groups other
than one s own. The primary focus of the novel is on racial passing which is the
ability to look white and belong to a white group when in reality the person is an
African American in order to gain privileges that were unavailable to them.
Although racial passing is the main focus, another major theme in this novel is
sexual passing and identity. Sexual passing refers to a person s ability to be judged
or viewed as a heterosexual person but in reality they are homosexual or bisexual.
This was a masked theme in the novel because in the early 1900 s, homosexuality
was not something that was accepted. Larsen made it aware that these were real
problems in those times without coming out directly and saying it. The main plot of
Passing focuses on two light skinned black women, Irene Redfield and her old time
friend Clare Kendry. Both women can pass as white women. Irene who is married to
a successful African American doctor, passes only when it is
Target Essay
Ads and commercials are on everything from the billboards you see going down the
highway to the ads you hear on the radio or TV. Every company uses them in
different ways to try to appeal to different audiences. Whether it s the older
generations or the parents of newborn babies, all companies try to appeal to people
in order to sell their products. Target is a department store that has been around
since 1962 and they have grown and prospered ever since the beginning. Target is a
branch off of the Dayton Dry Goods Company started in 1902 by George Draper
Dayton. Throughout the years the store evolved and adapted until they eventually
created the Target we know today in 1962. The first store opened May 1, 1962, in the
city of Roseville... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Target is trying to make it easier on them by putting everything in one store. Men
and women shop in very different ways. Men are more likely to make a list and
stick to and try to get in and out of class as fast as possible. Women, however, are
more likely to browse the aisles and look at everything that s in the store rather
than just what they need for themselves or the house at that moment (Wells). Target
shows the variety of items in their stores to help show the women in their store that
different items that they could find while browsing the store. By showing the
different products, it helps make the women want to go there because they can get
away from the busyness of life by spending times wondering the isles of Target.
Not only can the women get away from the stressfulness of life, if they are in a
rush they can get everything they could need in one stop. Women make up over
two thirds of the grocery shoppers (Goodman). Of course, not all of these women
are staying at home mom s or spouses so they need to get their shopping done so
that they can get back to the other parts of their lives. The same way that Target is
trying to appeal to women who like to browse when they shop, they are appealing to
those who need to get their shopping done in one quick stop. When showing all the
grocery items along with beauty products it allows the women to realize that they can
get everything they need for their
Medical Marijuana And Medical Therapy
Medical marijuana refers to the use of cannabis as medical therapy in the palliative
sense to treat diseases or alleviate symptoms. This treatment modality has proven to
be a highly debatable issue within the medical field due to the use of this substance as
an illicit drug. The National Youth Risk Behavior Survey monitors priority health risk
behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death, disability, and social
problems among youth and adults in the United States (Center for Disease Control
and Prevention, 2012). The most recent survey conducted on ninth through twelfth
grade students in public and private schools throughout the United States indicated
that in 2011, a mean of 39.9% of participants reported ever using marijuana one or
more times during their lives (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2012).
Although this substance has been most often used for recreational purposes, recent
studies have shown that an increasing number of people are fighting to have
legislation passed in order for the use medicinal marijuana to be made legal. The
populations most affected by such legislation include those positively affected by the
use of medical marijuana, patients suffering from chronic and debilitating illnesses,
and those who utilize the drug for other reasons associated with recreation and
personal pleasure. The issue highlights the beneficial aspect of marijuana use
detailing symptom management and improving overall quality of life; and conversely,

used for observing the environmental constraint. An automated irrigation system is
developed to improve water use for agriculture yields. Energy conservation is a
very critical issue in wireless sensor networks. For monitoring the energy
consumption MAC protocols plays a very major role. With the help sensors and
simple circuitry this work purposes low cost product, which can be bought even by
a poor farmer. The structure has a dispersed sensor nodes (SN) comprising of soil
moisture, humidity and temperature sensors located in the soil and base station
(BS). BS will gather data from SN. If the collected data in the BS is less than
threshold value then BS will perform a needed action for irrigation. In this project, a
TDMA based algorithm and single hop wireless communication are used to provide
better energy efficiency. Network Simulator 3 (NS 3) has been used for the
exploration of the algorithm.

Minors Use Social Media
Social media is expanding due to its popularity; however it may be used for many
different reasons. Many minors use it as a form of entertainment and interaction
between friends and even other people around the world. Although minors use social
media as a form of entertainment and interaction, nevertheless minors should not be
able to use social media because it causes health issues, exposes them to explicit
content, and promotes violence. Social media causing health issues in minors is
shown and proven in In Defense of the Internet: The Relationship between Internet

The Discourse On The Origin Of Inequality By Juis
Rousseau
Jean Jacques Rousseau is known as one of the most influential Enlightenment and
French Revolution philosophers of the eighteenth century. In 1749, Rousseau read a
copy of a newspaper, The Mercure de France that contained an advert for an essay
contest asking readers if recent advances in the arts and sciences were making the
world a better place. Rousseau s published response, A Discourse on the Sciences and
Arts, argued that civilization and progress had not improved people, but instead,
corrupted their virtue and morality. It was this discourse that brought Rousseau fame
and the foundation to write a second discourse, The Discourse on the Origin of
Inequality. In his second dissertation, Rousseau argued that humans are naturally
good,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, as man continued to move further and further away from the animal
condition and more towards progress and civilization, man became less free.
Rousseau states that the first person who, having enclosed a plot of ground, thought
of saying this is mine and found people simple enough to believe him was the true
founder of civil society (91). As a result of the creation of establishments and
institutions of property, men created laws and the creation of laws created inequality
among people. Rousseau stated that the only thing natural man cared about was
survival. Additionally, natural man did not have possessions and therefore, there was
nothing that could trigger envy or jealousy. Competition did not exist. However,
civilization has corrupted humans. Today, man cares a lot about power and
reputation. Rousseau states that, . . . the savage lives within himself; sociable man,
always outside himself, knows how to live only in the opinion of others, and it is
from their judgment alone that he, so to speak, derives the feeling of his own
existence (117). He continues by stating that, . . . everything becomes fabricated and
staged honor, friendship, virtue, and often even the vices themselves, which men
ultimately discover the secret of boasting about . . . (117). In other words, man has
not only moved further away from animal condition but from oneself.
Discipline Is Vital To Parenting In Ray Bradbury s The Veldt
Discipline is Vital to Parenting In today s society, parents that do not discipline
their children are perceived as nonchalant, or carefree. Ray Bradbury, an acclaimed
writer, disagrees with this concept. Instead, Bradbury would say that discipline is a
vital component of parenting, and without it, children will commit awful acts.
With the use of foreshadowing and allusion in his short story, The Veldt , Bradbury
depicts that a lack of discipline leads to horrendous, potentially deadly
consequences. Bradbury foreshadows the parents fatal deaths to develop the
repercussions they face for not disciplining Wendy and Peter. For instance, after the
Hadleys have dinner, the parents head to the nursery and find George s old wallet
with drops of saliva and blood smears on both sides (Bradbury 8). The disturbing
state George and Lydia find the wallet in hints that something is wrong with the
nursery and that the virtual animals can affect real life objects. Bradbury also adds
the following dialogue between the parents: Those screams they sound familiar. Do
they? Yes, awfully (9). The two screams Mr. and Mrs. Hadley heard were strikingly
familiar because they were their own screams, hinting that the children wanted them
dead and that the lions in the nursery were going to kill them. Throughout The Veldt ,
the parents hardly discipline their children, or care for them, causing the children to
despise them and develop a rotten character. Had the parents properly ruled
Putin s Power Of Power
It seems that Putin has been able to build up his power in a variety of ways
throughout his political career. Even throughout power struggles, Putin had been
able to prevail. What does Putin have to attribute to his rise in power, was it luck or
strategy? Well according to the rhetoric of Gerschewski, there isn t simply one solid
reason or force behind the stability of an autocratic regime. Gerschewski wrote,
Today s autocracies cannot rely (at least in the long term) entirely on their abuse of
powerin a strictly hierarchal, pyramid shaped political order as the unconstrained
tyrants of the past from whom all of the power is derived might have done
(Gerschewski, 2013, pg. 7). Moreover, Gerschewksi suggests that autocracies rely on
three pillars rather than one sole concept. The three pillars include, Legitimation,
Repression, and Co optation. Within the article he placed emphasis on observing
three processes that take place within and between the pillars in an effort to properly
explain the stabilization processes (Gerschewski, 2013, pg. 12).
The two pillars that seem to be the strongest in the case of Russia s regime, are
repression and co optation. The weakest pillar, hence would be legitimation. This isn
t to say that legitimation wasn t or isn t at play. As had been mentioned previously,
the pillars within the stabilization process are built over time, and include three
processes necessary for observation.
Legitimation serves the function of gaining support
Man Making History
A Man Making History A negro, Barack Obama, on November 4th, 2008 was
sworn into the United States presidential office making American history as the
first African american president elected over John McCain, senator of Arizona.
This is groundbreaking because just a few decades earlier a man like him would not
dare to run for such position. Just four years before In November of 2004, Barack
Obamareceived 70% of illinois votes, making him 1 of the only 3 african american
elected to the U.S senate in history. On February 10th 2007, Barack Obama made the
announcement that he was running for presidency (Barack Obama). For many, this

Symptoms Of Asthma
Asthma is a chronic disorder of the lungs in which inflamed airways are prone to
constrict. This causes episodes of breathlessness. Wheezing, coughing, and chest
tightness that range in severity from mild to life threatening degrees. Asthma causes a
variety of symptoms that can worsen at any time, which makes breathing difficult.
Asthmacannot be cured, but it can definitely be managed. Some days victims may
have symptoms, and other days they won t. However, not having symptoms of
asthma does not mean your asthma has gone away. Asthma doesn t necessarily slow

Some inhalers that are popular in the United States are Symbicort or HCP. Inhalers
should be used by asthma patients before the attack (when you start to feel the
early symptoms of an attack). Some patients also have a daily inhaler that is
necessary for everyday activities, some are used for sports or other activities that
may make breathing difficult. There are different inhalers for attacks in particular.
If the attack is severe you can use the longer acting inhalers to keep the airways
open, or an oral steroid. Millions of families and individuals have to deal with the
severity and expenses of having asthma. The estimated cost of asthma in 2002 was
$6.1 million. $11.5 billion indirect medical expenses and 4.6 billion in lost earnings
because of the disease and deaths. In addition to medical costs, working parents of
children with asthma lose about $1 million a year in productivity. There are some
websites you can go on to donate to the asthma organizations to help with the
expenses of asthma. Fortunately, asthma isn t as life threatening as other incurable
diseases, but it is still affecting millions of lives negatively
Buddhism, Religion, Traditions, Practices, And Rituals
There are many different religions with many different beliefs, traditions, practices,
and rituals. These differences are a very important part of understanding and
appreciating the culture and history behind the specific religion. However, the
practices that certain religions have in common can aid even more in furthering
the understanding of specific beliefs of other religions. Since most religions
cultivate from the practices and beliefs of other religions, they use those core
values and beliefs and transform them into what they believe is a better way
practicing. Religions use similarities within each other and twist them into their
own. There are certain beliefs within every religion that shape their practices such
as their morals or their most essential or absolute value, their position on human
beings problems and solutions, and their view on life and death within their
religion. Pure Land Buddhism (a form of Mahayana Buddhism) and Vaishnavites (a
group within Hinduism) are great examples of this very concept. Mahayana
Buddhism is one of two branches of Buddhism that follow additional teachings
beyond what their divine power Buddha had set into place. In Phillip Novak s book,
The World s Wisdom, he says, Yet there are beings whose eyes are only a little
covered with dust: they will understand the truth (59). Buddha is saying that he will
provide a way and guide his followers to that truth. Since the Mahayanists believe that
no human goal can be achieved without the
Mule Killers
Progress Does Not Always Lead to a Better Life
Life, in the primitive sense of the word, means moving through time towards
inevitable death. Progression, by definition, means development towards a destination
or more advanced state. Life in the emotional aspect explores love, and with love
there will always be shortcomings and complexities. Progression, life, destruction, and
love are themes in the short story Mule Killers by Lydia Peelle. The short story is a
story within a story, and it is first person narration from the point of view of a son
retelling the story of his father and his grandfather. The story thereby tells the stories
of three different generations of men. The setting is in Nashville Tennessee, the time
period is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the son tells the story he reveals that to develop is not necessarily a good
thing, three weeks after the last load of mules is taken, one of the tractors
overturns on a hill down by the river and nearly kills one of the hands (3). As soon
as the town drove all the mules out and replaced them with tractors it backfired a
helper was almost killed. The son then goes on to say it is not an unexpected
tragedy (3), alluding that the father and grandfather did not really want to progress
but had to, and foresaw bad things to occur. This quote can also be a parallel to the
family as the son was an acciden, , one that could have been predicted since there is
no love in the family. The grandfather drives the help to the hospital and on his way
home there was a car crash, upon seeing his son (the father) he says: Son, you re
gonna see a future I can t even stretch my mind around. Not any of it. I can t even
begin to imagine (4). The grandfather is scared of the future and doubtful of the
progress that is happening, right after the father tells him he is going to have a child,
another tragedy that day. Both accidents demonstrate to them that progress is not
always bettering the state of ones life; the mule killers almost killed someone, and,
similarly, starting a new generation in the family was a mistake.
In that both the grandfather and the father hope to progress in their lives, to be part of
industrialization and to gain control of

German Unification is the Single most important political development in Europe
between 1848 and 1914. This sets the stage for the world wars and particularly for
Germany unifies and becomes a great power in Europe. This alters the power in
Europe. Two German states Austria and Prussiaand 37 other German states which
were smaller. This created a problem for Prussia because they could never actually
take control. During 1806 one of Napoleons accomplishments was to abolish political
entity that was the Roman Empire. By this happening gives Germany the chance to
rise. With Napoleons rise he made 300 states of Germany to 39 states of Germany.
This created the idea of creating just one German state instead of multiple. During the
beginning of the 1800 s, nationalism was a major deal in Europe. This thought of
have superiority over other countries was important to the countries of Europe.
Johann Gottlieb Fitche wrote about German Nationalism and he says The first,
original, and truly natural boundaries of states are beyond doubt their internal
boundaries. Those who speak the same language are joined to each other by a
multitude of invisible bonds by nature herself, long before any human heart begins;
they understand each other... they belong together and are by nature one and an
inseparable whole. This shows throughout Germany unifying because this
The Big Baddy Of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Leading To...
Issue one: climate change
Environmental agencies focus on fossil fuels as the big bad baddy of greenhouse gas
emissions leading to global warming, suggesting alternative energy, carpooling,
hybrid cars, and biking, but animal agriculture accounts for more carbon dioxide per
year than all transportation methods combined.
A conservative 2006 study by the United Nations food and agricultural study placed
animal agriculture at 7,516 million tons per year or 18% of annual global green
house gas emissions with a far more thorough 2009 WorldWatch Institute study taking
into account overlooked livestock respiration, land use, methane and other oversights
of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations with the ultimate
outcome of at least 32,564 million tons of carbon dioxide per year coming from
animal agriculture. That s 51 percent of all global emissions compared to the 13
percent of all combined transportation.
And what do the environmental agencies point to? Reducing fossil fuel usage.
If we completely stopped all use of gas, oil, fuel, electricity et cetera, and never used
them ever again, we would still exceed our carbon equivalent greenhouse gas
emissions of 565 gigatons by the year 2030 just with the impact of livestock alone.
[10][11]
So not using fossil fuels at all, which would be the wet dream of every environmental
agency, we re still gassing out the planet with the one contributor the main contributor
which they refuse to even address.

How Are The Inca And Aztecs Similar
There are many reasons why the Aztec s culture and the Incas culture are almost
identical. Most of the things that makes these empires so identical is they were
established about the same way, also they both believe and worshiped many gods

only that but they had lots of beautiful artwork. Art was very important to the

they would sacrifice children during or after major events that would occur. Both
the Aztec and the Inca empire had very developed civilization, they had many tools

The Homeland Security Division
The Homeland Security Division was formed in the wake of terrorist attacks and
implemented by President Bush after the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United
States. This policy was formed to place a national policy into place for Federal
departments and local agencies to identify and protect the United Statesfrom
additional terrorist attacks. What many don t know is that this plan defines orders
and roles for local state and governmental agencies as well, in order to carry out the
goal. I will explain how six sub groups come together to form the Department of
Homeland Security s one enterprise operation.
Since the Homeland Security Division was created, the goal was simple; one team,

Dna And Sequence Of Dna Essay
DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) is a self replicating nucleic acid that carries the
genetic information in cells in a double helix structure. The 2 stranded helix is
composed of 4 nucleotides, Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Guanine (G), and Cytosine
(C). The base pairs only form between A and T connected by 2 Hydrogen bonds and
G and C connected by 3 hydrogen bonds. Foremost DNAwrapping comes about as
DNA wraps around protein called histones. These combined loops of DNA and
protein are called nucleosomes and the nucleosomes are packaged into a thread
called chromatin. Chromosomes are made up of packaged chromatin and can be seen
in the nucleus of dividing cells and form around DNA replication. Furthermore, DNA
replication begins with 2 DNA strands being separated by the helicase enzyme.
Single stranded DNA binding proteins attach to these strands to keep them from re
connecting. 1 DNA strand begins to encode called the leading strand, which Forms
from 5 to 3 end using DNA polymerase 3 the primary polymerase. The other strand
is referred to as the lagging strand, which presents problems because it has to form
from the 5 to 3 end as well. As continuous replication of the leading strand continues
the lagging strand forms in pieces called Okazaki fragments. RNA primase forms as
RNA primer and polymerase III lay down new DNA. This process repeats again and
again. DNA polymerase I replaces RNA primers with DNA and DNA ligase links the
Okazaki fragments. Along with the process of DNA
The Soveregin Euro Crisis
Introduction
The sovereign Euro crisis inflicting the Euro zone nations have both internal
integration significance and international economic. It rarely truncated the internal
integration of economic crisis but also accentuate effects to immediate distant nations
including Australia (Malcolm Edey, 2011). The Euro zone member states experienced
sovereign debt crisis which largely affected international economic and European
integration. Regional economic crisis had immediate and clear effects on the far off
nations including Australia. The sovereign debt crisis emanated from Euro zone
governments facing bond market rates and unsustainable to repayments. These
culminated in low resolution measures and high public debt (Prideaux, 2000) This
meant potential decline in the GDP and decreased levels of exports. The EU
summit was seen as a hope to a resolution of the European crisis but the agreement
by the European leaders lacked focus on resolving the immediate issues. Its great
attention was guaranteeing the survival of the Euro zone in its current form. There
is a real possibility of departure of one or more countries from the Euro zone.
Financial markets geographically distant from Europe to face European crisis.
Australia has over the last four years resisted the impending decline of economic

The Negative Effects Of Technology In Modern Society
Throughout the past couple decades, cell phones and laptops have become a large
part of daily life for most human beings. In fact, in today s society it is rare to find
someone who does not own some sort of cellular device. Although technology has
many useful perks, it is beginning to deteriorate our society s social skills and
social life. Teenagers in today s world are too digitally connected, and this brings
along the negative effects of a decrease in real life conversation, increased laziness,
and more distractions in a number of different environments. The increased use of
technology in modern society is leading to a decrease in real life conversation. In
The Negative Impacts of Social Media on Face to Face Interactions, it states, Since
it has become more prevalent, social media has made people have a tendency to
want to interact with people online rather than in person because it has made the
process simpler. From my own experiences, this is true. I have seen multitudes of
my friends struggle to interact with others in person because they have become so
used to texting them. As texting becomes normal for more people, having real life
conversations will become more awkward and difficult because they are not
practicing that skill. Due to teenagers being too digitally connected, there has been
an increase in laziness. Because technology does a lot of the work for this
generation, there has been a decrease in doing things the old fashioned way. In the

Teen Violence In Fahrenheit 451
In April, 2014, over twenty people were injured at Franklin Regional High School
in Murrysville, Pennsylvania. A 16 year old student, Alex Hribal was in possession
of kitchen knives that he used to stab innocent students and the security guard at the

to stab so many people in the school. Sam King, the assistant principal of Franklin
Regional High Schooltackled him to put a stop to his rampage and Hribal was
charged as an adult.
Ray Bradbury wrote about teen violence in his novel, Fahrenheit 451. Kids would try

Consumer Multiplier
Success with consumers may not translate to success in the marketplace, however,
unless other conditions also prevail. The ability of the customer mind set to create
value at the next stage depends on various contextual market factors external to the
customer. The three factors are competitive superiority, channel and other
intermediary support, and customer size and profile.
The competitors of Coca Cola Pepsi and others don t really pose much of a threat
and the Coke customers are loyal and prefer that specific brand only. All the
channel members are supportive of Coca Cola and readily promote and stock it in
their outlets. This makes the brand visible and helps it easily communicate the
message that they want to convey. The customer size of Coca Cola is immense it is
a brand that is recognized and adopted all over the world.
All these factors aid in creating value in the minds of the consumers and affect how
the consumers react or respond to the brand in the
Living Inside The Large City
Geneva
This is my home in Geneva. My family lives in a manor near a lake, and about a
league outside of the large city, because we don t like living inside the large
bustling city, which currently has a population of around 37000. [1] I am about to
leave home to continue my education. I am going to miss my family and friends
here, but I need to pursue my dreams, and I could always visit home if I miss it.
Pursuing science and philosophy has been a dream of mine since I was a small
child, and saw a tree struck by lightning. [ch. 2] I can finally satisfy this lust more
so than I had by reading every one of those old books about the wonders of
philosophy and alchemy.

seen me as well. He confronted me in the valley and told me his life story of
everything he could remember from after his creation. I can t help but feel sorry for
this creature that I had brought into life so miserable.
I am in England now, which is just a resting point on my journey. I am with my
friend best friend, Henry Clerval. I have decided to make a wife for the monster, and
need to find a place to do so. But I shall remain in London for a few months. It is
nice to visit these places that I have heard of even in Geneva, such as Greenwich,
which has recently been established as the prime meridian for all maps. [4] I wish I
could be happy, at least for Henry s sake, but every time I come close to being
happy, I think of poor William and Justine, the deaths of whom I feel responsible for,
and I cannot feel happy knowing what I had done. [ch. 19]

decided to go to Scotland, where I will set up my lab and finish my goal, specifically
in the Orkneys Islands, which are small, fertile, remote islands. [5] I have picked a

The Consequences Of Gun Violence
Gun violence is rampant in America. There were 355 mass shootings in just 2016
and many of those shooting was done by one of the most dangerous weapons in
America, the AR 15, a military grade, fully automatic weapon. These guns are really
easy to get too, through gun show loop holes which don t require background checks
and anywhere else varying from state to state. Clearly something needs to be done.
We see places like England and Australia whose guncrime went down after their gun
ban and in light of the aforementioned statistics, the best course of action is
undeniably to follow in their example. No one needs an Ar 15 to protect themselves.
Statements like these are narratives pushed by the left and mainstream media in

Donne Magritte Essay
Fournet 1 During the surrealist period, many of the art works produced were quite
visual pieces. Many of the artist painted what seemed to be senseless scenes so
precise that they look like a photograph. Belgian artist, Rene Magritte, created
paintings that transformed everyday objects, such as the apples in Le PrГЄtre Marie ,
into mysteriously strange characters. Magritte was reputable for his ability to use
everyday objects to create mind twisting images. Completed in 1968, Le PrГЄtre
Marie portrays the image of two vibrant green apples wearing masks, sitting on a
deserted beach. Magritte uses many techniques to draw viewers in to his paintings.
One of the most apparent techniques being used is the use of bright colors in the

These times were deeply depressing and dark for many people. Magritte saw this
gloomy world as an opportunity to bring meaning back to life with colorful art.
With war taking over the minds of many, Magritte attempted to shift people s dark
thoughts to a prismatic piece of artwork. This was the idea many artist in this time
period had. The idea was for the viewer to get so deep into thought about what the
painting could potentially means, and get consumed in the vivid colors to where
they would forget about the reality of the wars that they must face. The comparison
of the dreary times this painting was completed in, to the lively colors found in Le
PrГЄtre Marie clearly display Magritte s tactful intentions. In Rene Magritte s Le
PrГЄtre Marie , he gives two ordinary apples an equivocal quality and makes them
characters of the painting by putting masks on them. He also gives the apples a
lively green color to make them catch the eye of viewers. This will draw people in
to look at the painting and then they will be diverted into the world the apple is in.
This was the goal of Magritte so that his paintings could help people forget the
hurting world they are living in.

Early Veneers
Veneers have been around for almost one hundred years. The first veneers were
seen on Hollywood stars to make their smiles perfection on the big screen. Dr.
Charles Pincus was known as the dentist of the stars. Some of his patients were;
Shirley Temple, James Dean, Mae West, Joan Crawford and Walt Disney, just to
name a few.
Dr. Pincus was a graduate from the University of Southern California Dental School
in 1926 and was founder and first president of the American Academy of Aesthetic
Dentistry. Dr. Pincus fabricated acrylic veneers that would temporarily attach to the
fronts of teeth with the use of an adhesive to achieve a perfect smile. The problem
with early veneers is Dr. Pincus could not find a way to make the false fronts stay
permanently attached to the teeth. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Michael Bunocore found that by lightly etching teeth with a mild acidic solution it
would create a stronger bonding surface for restorations and dental sealants. While
this procedure didn t fix the problem totally, it did lead to research that would
finally find a way to permanently attach the porcelain veneers to enamel. In 1982,
J.R. Calamia and R.J. Simonsen found that hydrofluoric acid, an adhesive, would
affix porcelain veneers to the surface of a tooth permanently. This modernized
process made porcelain veneers more affordable and readily accessible to everyone.
Over the past 30 years, developing dental technology has made veneers more lifelike
and convenient than ever before. New types of porcelain are stronger and reflect light
similarly to natural dental enamel. Digital imaging systems enable many dentists to
create same day restorations that are a near perfect match to the natural shape and
color of patients teeth. Additionally, other advanced dental treatments such as teeth
whitening and dental crowns can be combined with veneers to provide patients with

research objectives. The findings are compared to the existing literature.
Research objective 1: To investigate the CQ level of the managers according to the
four factors model and to define how their previous international background
influences their CQ.
4.1.Managerial cultural intelligence
Metacognitive component. This component refers to the ability to adapt behavior to
the situation and to acquire cultural knowledge. Almost all managers use consciously
their cultural knowledge in cross cultural communication, they travel a lot and pay
much attention to cultural sensitivities. They also adjust their cultural knowledge
during cross cultural interaction and check its accuracy beforehand. Simultaneously,
they enjoy communication with people from different cultures and look for such
communication purposefully, either related to the learning of foreign languages or
their personal interests:

Persuasive Essay On Capital Punishment
The United States will not conform to the amendments as provided in the United
States Constitution or provide the process for all of its citizens when they are in trial.
The harsh penalizations through the use of Capital Punishment should not be utilized
in our judicial system. For the past 50 years, there have been questions asked about
one issue that we just cannot get on board with. The idea of killing citizens had
started to weigh heavily on the conscience of humans. The debate on whether capital
punishmentshould be a penalty or not for those convicted of capital offenses remains
one of the most controversial issues in our country. This debate has stemmed from
whether capital punishment is a violation of the eighth amendment to the U.S.
Constitution. The Eighth amendment states excessive bail shall not be required, nor
excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted (amend. XIII,
sec.3). This amendment entails that no inhumane, excessive, or unusual punishments
should be inflicted upon a person as a penalty of the violation of law (amend. XIII,
sec. 3). This amendment questions the issues of The Death Penalty; it is used less
over the years, so why do we keep it around as a safety net, and so called Deterrent, or
to satisfy our own the idea of justice for the people (Alfano). Another factor that has
stimulated around the debate about capital punishment is the number of wrongful
convictions of those subjected to capital punishment. According to

positively impact the cooperative s income, while negatively impacting the
farmers income. With the current system, 450,000 bbls. of berries are paid a
premium of 50 cents per bbl, yet when the berries are used only about half of them
are actually considered No. 3 s (berries with the best color). So basically, the
cooperative is paying a premium on 225,000 bbls. more than it should be, and that
worked out to about $112,500 in 1970. It would cost the cooperative $10,000 to
install a berry grader, plus the cost of another full time skilled operator, but it
would still impact their income greatly. The farmers would probably prefer that the
cooperative continue to grade the color using pictures as a guide, because they are

Nevertheless, from the outcomes and with the evaluation of this first event, I will

teaching on wound care and there were a lot of comments asking for more teaching

obtained from discussions with fellow residents and staff and strengthened the idea
that there is a gap in knowledge as mentioned previously. It also denotes that the need
was and is still prevailing.
Presentation Evaluation
The presentation given to the residents was evaluated in two different ways. First, the
standard survey from the faculty had to be distributed to the residents and covers a

future presentations and comments. The results on the quality of this survey showed
that 40 % of residents that attended the presentation found it excellent, 12 % found it

which asks if the residents would like to have the same speaker showed that 7 out of
25 residents would recommend the presentation to future residents. It is to note that
all the other responders did not answer this question and none reported that the

promoted from Lieutenant to Colonel. As a man who proved his worth as a military
leader and his family open support for the integration of freed black slaves into the

in defense of the Union capital. His time with the Seventh New York Regiment
was short lived, due to the unit only serving for thirty days and was disbanded.
During his time in Washington D.C. with his regiment, Shaw discovered his
purpose in life and with much respect and enthusiasm he applied for a commission
in in the regular Army. In May of 1861, his request was granted and he was
assigned to the Second Massachusetts Regiment at the rank of second lieutenant.
This decision to follow his new found purpose placed him in the position to be
involved in some of the Civil Wars greatest and pivotal battles that determined the
momentum of the war. Shaw served in campaigns in western Maryland and
Virginia serving under Major General Nathaniel Banks, who was actively engaged
in stopping major General Thomas Stonewall Jackson s Shenandoah Valley
campaign. Shaw nearly avoided being wounded while fighting in the First Battle
of Winchester, when a bullet struck his pocket watch. Shaw, now baptized by fire,
was offered a position on Brigadier General George H. Gordon s staff and accepted.
He was promoted shortly after the Battle of Cedar Mountain to Captain. The Second
Massachusetts s was present for the Battle of Second Manassas, but was held in

in the bloodiest battle of the entire Civil War, Battle of Antietam. Shaw would be

Btec Business Level 3 Unit 3 P3
Most businesses use more than one way to communicate internally and externally.
This is vital to running a business effectively. Without communication, information
would not get passed on, information that is potentially needed to carry out tasks
within the business. Different methods are used, for example, Phones, letters,
internal post, email and an internal instant messaging system. Most of the methods
listed above are used every single day in the work place, some more often than
others, but either way they both have a high volume usage rate every day. There
are many different ways to communicate as it is a big business, any one of these
methods could break during any day. For example, if your phone is broken, there
is always a backup of sending an email and vice versa. Another reason may be for
anyone with a disability. For example, someone may be deaf, therefore they may not

A lot of business has individuals whose first language may not be English so
making information, instructions, requests etc. as clear and as brief as possible is
a good way to communicate. This doesn t just apply to people whose first language
isn t English. It should apply to everyone. Just some more than others. Another
example, visually and hearing impaired individuals will need communicating to
more clearly as they have difficulty communicating in the more popular ways. A lot
of people do not appreciate jargon. It is important to communicate in plain English.
This is extremely important when you are writing formally. You must use plain
English. Make this brief and easy to understand. Below is an example of a very
longwinded way of saying something very brief. If there are any points on which
you require explanation or further particulars we shall be glad to furnish such
additional details as may be required by telephone. What does this mean in brief? If

Mentality In A Brave New World
In the past weeks or so I have noticed a spike of people losing hope for the world,
this mentality (and its influence) is not new but recent events in my life have
amplified my attention to this problem and made me want to annihilate it.The first
time I analyzed this problem and all its contributing factors I thoughtof how stupid
can people be to think that the world is not capable of developing peace through
change with so much potential in hands, hypocritical and lazy can a person get, and
is this mentality actually affecting people and society. As time passed I encountered
experiences which answered these questions and made me regret my accusations,I
realized that people feel like this wretched mentality is the only way to live and that

It seems that our present expresses hate,terrorism,etc... just like our historic past
and our future might or might not project those values. I am also a convict of
sometimes believing that these values rule the world and there is no more
good,love,etc... and I fall to that ville mentality. Instead of going out and changing
the world or our world for the good we stay at home and declare that there is no
hope for a better future, a future that would have existed if life wouldn t have
sucked. But what is this mentality doing to our person;our motivation,dreams,etc...?
With the un positive beliefs that we will never progress taking the place of dreams
and motivations the effect are vices which have negative effects on a person s
character and success in life. By condensing the belief that dreams will come true or
at least the possibility a person is not allowing himself/herself to develop the
motivation and confidence which are needed in our world.Without the gain of these
Retinoblastoma Research Paper
Retinoblastoma is a cancer that develops in the retina. The retina is a thin layer of
nerve tissue in the back of the eye that senses light and sends signals to the brain to
interpret what you are looking at. Retinoblastoma can occur in one or both eyes, and
in some cases can spread to different parts of your body. Retinoblastoma can occur at
any age but about 200 to 300 children in the United States get diagnosed each year.
Retinoblastoma usually occurs in children younger than 5 years and is most common
in children younger than 2 years (National CancerInstitute). One symptom of
retinoblastoma is a white pupillary reflex. This is the most common early sign of
retinoblastoma. You can tell that is happening when you shine a light at the eye....

These cells continuously grow and multiply as healthy cells die. This causes a
mass cells to form a tumor. In most cases it not clear what causes the mutation, but
it is possible to inherit a mutation from a parent. It is possible for mutated genes to
be passed from parents to offspring s which can cause retinoblastoma in children.
Retinoblastoma is an autosomal dominant pattern, which means that if a parent has
one copy of the dominant trait then there is a greater risk that their offspring will
receive the mutated gene. If both parents are carriers have one of the mutated genes
then there is a twenty five percent chance that the offspring will have both copies of
the mutated gene. Just because someone has both mutated genes doesn t mean that
that person will have retinoblastoma, it just means there is a greater risk of it
occurring. If a child has the inherited form of the gene, they typically develop
retinoblastoma earlier, and tends to occur in both eyes rather than in one eye. There
are some complications that can occur when you treating people with
retinoblastoma. When you are treated for retinoblastoma there is a risk that the
cancer can return to the treated eye or around it. Due to this, the doctor will
schedule follow up appointments to check for the cancer reappearing. In most cases,
this will likely involve eye exams every few months for the first few years
How Is Jane Eyre Attractive Women
In Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, St. John Rivers may be attractive, but cannot get
everything he wants. Rivers is attractive to many women. However, there is one
who refuses his marriage offer. Unlike the others, Jane is not attracted to him. St.
John Rivers is stunned with Jane s refusal to marriage, due to the fact all the others
find him so appealing. Many women find St. John Rivers attractive. He has
characteristics that women find appealing. St. John is a good looking man, with
blonde hair and blue eyes. The women like him because he is handsome, and looks to
be perfect. For example: Rosamond Oliver is overcome with love for St. John.
However, he is actually cold hearted. He is also restrained. He does not allow himself

Allusions In The Crucible
You were supposed to destroy the Sith, not join them! You were supposed to bring
balance to the force, not leave it in darkness! This is what Obi Wan screamed at
Anakin before leaving him to burn almost to death on Mustafar. While this accusation
makes sense from a Jedi point of view, from the Buddhist point of view, it is entirely
unfounded. The Jedi, through their millennia of non virtuous actions, earned the non
virtuous actions that happened to them. In fact, Anakin was just used as the
instrument of karma in Revenge of the Sith. The Jedi are held up on a pedestal
throughout the entire saga, but they are not perfect heroes. Just during the course of
the movie, the Jedi lied and committed divisive speech, both of which are principle
verbal non virtues. There are many times that they lie, not only amongst themselves,
but also to the Chancellor and the Senate. Their biggest lies were in their omissions
of information about their inability to access the force as easily, and when they told
Anakin to lie to the Chancellor and spy on him. While the Chancellor is the
antagonist of the film, that doesn t change the fact that when the Jedi forced Anakin
to spy on his beloved friend, they were committing a non virtuous act. They were
willing to commit these non virtues because they had grown... Show more content on

The bad things that happened to the Jedi order were the results of their millennia of
non virtuous acts. The Jedi, throughout their many years of power, committed almost
every single non virtue, and did many of them with the wrong views and with a
harmful intent due to their arrogance. So Anakin was just an instrument of karma
that actually cleansed the bad karma that the Jedi had built up. In that way, he
fulfilled the prophecy, bringing balance to the force by balancing the karma of the
Jedi. Therefore, the true blame for the destruction of the Jedi lies with the Jedi, not
Importance Of Identity In Things Fall Apart
Finding Your Identity Having an identity and more importantly finding your identity
is very important when it comes to finding and achieving your purpose in life. It is
very difficult to find your purpose when you don t have a clear self identity. Merriam
Webster dictionary defines identity in this context as the distinguishing character or
personality of an individual , and that perfectly represents what Nwoye experiences in
the novel Things Fall Apartwhen the European missionaries come to Nigeria and start
teaching the Ibo villagers about Jesus Christ and Christianity. Nwoye experiences a
change in his religious identity because the missionaries words really get through to
him, and he really understands what they are trying to teach. Identity is mentioned
multiple times in Cosmopolitanism as Kwame Anthony Appiahputs an emphasis on
finding your identity and having a specific identity to be able to help other people
when they need it. Nwoye always thought that his purpose in life was to follow the
faith of his fellow villagers, but once he heard the teachings of the Christian
missionaries he realized his real purpose, and his religious identity, was to spread the
word of Jesus Christ. Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebeis a book set in a small
Nigerian village, an Ibo village, and centers around the life of Okonkwo as he goes
through life in the village, from when he was a boy to his eventual death. Okonkwo
is very hot headed and he gets into trouble because of his
Esther By Sylvia Plath Essay
The 1950s were a time of conformity in the United States, especially for women,
who were expected to stay in the domestic sphere of childbearing and
housecleaning. Yet, for some younger women, the idea of domesticity and of
having their desires coming second to their husbands was not an idea they could get
behind. At the age of twenty, Sylvia Plath was one of these women: she had
achieved straight A s throughout her life, was an honors student on the verge of
graduation, and had won a once in a lifetime internship in New York. Yet, the only
concern her mother and her friends had for her was that she got married as soon as
possible. Sylvia soon felt increasingly trapped in a society that expected her to flatten

Esther is obsessed with rhetoric and symbolic language. During her chemistry
class, she ignores the lecture and instead chooses to [write] page after page of
villanelles and sonnets (Plath 55). Much of what Esther says can never be taken as
being a purely literal statement, as she often speaks in metaphor or with phrases
heavy in symbolism, such as the memorable images of the fig tree or the bell jar
(Evans). Part of her narrative abilities to create symbolism in plain images lie in
her use of detail in describing the setting. In The Bell Jar, the setting changes often,
as Esther changes from different points in her life, shifting from the city to the
suburbs to a mental hospital, with the tone and imagery changing to match. While
her description of the city could never be called entirely positive, Esther s
descriptions of the suburbs are much harsher, calling the well groomed green lawns
the bars in a large but escape proof cage (Plath 170). By establishing her narrator
early on as well as throughout the entire novel as an individual who appreciates and
utilizes rhetoric, Plath is able to place additional symbolism within the details that the
narrator gives, especially in the
1870-1880 Essay
1870 1880
During the 1870 s the United States experienced great changes with the end of the
Civil War. America was going through a period called Reconstruction. Tensions were
fairly high and an air of freedom was present throughout the nation. By 1877, it was
obvious the United States was beginning to develop into a recognizably modern
economic system of making, earning, spending, and living (Brown 60). In 1880,
over half of American workers worked on farms and only one in twenty worked on
manufacturing (Brown 59). Farmers outnumbered factory by a large number, but
factories were still abundant. Child labor occurred after the Civil War as well. By
1872, more than 10,000 children were employed in Philadelphia s industrial ... Show

This began the electrical revolution that soon swept the country and the world. These
are just the few things that helped develop America in this time period.
In 1870 1880 many significant world events took place. In 1870, the famous
Franco Prussian War broke out led by Prussian minister Bismarck who believed the
war would help unite Germany. In 1870, the French army was defeated at the battle
of Sedan ( Timeline Primary documents 1874 ). The French commanders and
Napoleon III were captured and the Germans started invading Paris. On December
27, the French forts that were set around Paris were destroyed and within a month,
Paris collapsed and the French surrendered ( Timeline Primary documents 1874 ).
Also in 1874, the Japanese invaded Taiwan. The Japanese did such a thing because
of the killing of an Okinawan seaman after a shipwreck. Another important event took
place in 1878 when the Treaty of San Stefano was signed on March 5th between
Russia and the Ottoman Empire. This brought peace between Russia and the
Ottoman Empire after two years of fighting.
Europe had a fair amount of influence on the United States at this time. In addition to
influencing American literature, theatre, music, fine arts, and fashion, European
immigrants help shaped American life by bringing their traditions and cultures to the
United States. In the 1870 s a new literary movement called Realism was on the rise
in America. Three American authors wrote
Sterling Correctional Facilities
In my class Institutional Corrections, we went to visit the Sterling Correctional
Facility which housed 2,500 inmates. This gave me a better understanding of the
different custody levels, male prisoners and overall the prison lifestyle at this
correctional institution. Personally, I was expecting this prisonto have more
restrictions with little freedom for the inmates. With this prison being so much bigger
and having more inmates I thought there would be more limitations on certain things.
Rather, I got to watch inmates move somewhat freely and do things that interest
them. From my understanding, there was not a set schedule for the inmate
disregarding dinner times, inmate counts and bedtime. I was very impressed with the
facility and staff. The facility was well organized and professional. The facility felt
like an actual prison to me, it was not as welcoming and home like as the Wyoming
Women s Correction Center. I liked the feel of the prison environment rather than the
welcoming environment because it was a constant reminder to be aware. At the
Correctional Facility, there were many programs,... Show more content on

I really enjoyed learning about the mailroom. The mail room was were the letters
going to or from the inmates were searched for drugs, pornographic material, semen
bombs and what they were writing about. The envelopes are dissected, drugs are
stored in the flaps of the envelope. Something that I found really odd was that the
inmates were trying to send their semen through mail for whatever reason. In one
case, a male inmate was trying to send his girlfriend semen through the mail in hopes
to get pregnant unfortunately that is not how it works. Also, I learned that people
were flying drones over the prisons yard and delivering drugs and other things to the
inmates. This is not a common thing yet but the prison is taking precautionary steps

Debate Between National Security And Personal Freedoms
National Security Since the events of December 8, 1941 and September 9, 2001,
there has been an immense change in the ruling of our national security and personal
freedoms. The debate between the two is an intricate affair. Our national security has
a direct effect on the lives of every citizen in this New World. America has yet to
figure out how to retain both without a monumental problem occurring. National
security is protecting against all national crisis, which demands taking away some
civil libertiesfrom the people. Having said that, a mass amount of people are not
willing to give up those personal freedoms for the betterment of our nation because
they feel that the government has taken it too far. National protection of the citizens...

The proper way to balance security and liberty is not to balance them at all; it is to
insist on policies that maximize both to the extent practicable (The Heritage

two. They are both reinforcing and the approaches to protect our nation should not
diminish the people s liberty. Protecting individual rights does not necessarily involve

Norway and Its Economic Policies

Introduction
The purpose of this essay is to examine Norway from the perspective of its
economic policies. I am trying to pay special attention to its recession resolution
technique in order to understand better why this country could preserve itself
against the most severe financial crisis of the last few decades. The reason why I
picked Norway as a topic is because I lived half a year there as an exchange student.
Apparently, I was there when the crisis was the most threatening to all the European
countries (in the autumn semester of 2008). However, I did not notice huge changes

The largest controversy regarding monetary policy in 2009 was probably the rate cut
in June, and to a lesser extent in May. By then, the economy had begun showing signs
of improvement, the government s expansionary fiscal policy was just starting to
have an impact, and the financial markets had improved rapidly on the back of lower
interest rates, government guarantees and ample liquidity. Along with the strong
signs that the economy was improving, there were growing concerns that the
extraordinarily low interest rates could initiate a housing market bubble. House
prices started to increase in January 2009, and have continued to climb gradually
back to their pre crisis levels. Some leading indicators and the strong recovery in the
financial and asset markets suggested an earlier recovery than what Norges Bank
emphasized at that time.
After the August meeting, Norges Bank communicated clearly its intention to start
its exit strategy. Norges Bank wanted to withdraw the extraordinary measures first
and then hike rates. On October 28, Norges Bank hiked rates by 25 basis points to
1.5 per cent and signalled that rates would be hiked by a further 25 basis points
either in December 2009 or February 2010 as for the monetary policy reports is the
following: Due to strong economic data, recovering financial markets, rising house
prices and a lack of pass through from the previous policy rate hikes to mortgage and
corporate rates, Norges Bank hiked

The horrors and mental terror should be your friends, or feared enemy.
In the movie, Apocalypse Now from 1979, we are shown, through the characters
changing characterisation and the movies script, the horrors of the Vietnam war,
and how the soldier fighting the war, is affected by it. We are given an idea of what
it takes to fight and win a war.
The first seven minutes of the movie resumes the entire war through captain
Benjamin L. Willard s behaviour while spending a week in a hotel room waiting for
a mission in the Vietnamese city Saigon. At first, we are shown the palm trees and

He listens to Kurtz talking about the essentials of war: Horror and moral terror are
your friends. If they are not, then they are enemies to be feared. And Kurtz is
convinced that the American army is not strong enough to be friends with the
horror. To explain this to Willard we are told a story, in which the Americans are
inoculating the children of a Vietnamese children. After this the Viet Cong came in
and cut of the inoculated arms of the children. To Kurtz this shows the courage and
the will it takes to win a war. He is sure that the Americans will lose the war. As
Willard listens to the story you get a feeling that he begins to understand Kurtz. He
silently agrees with his views, and perhaps it is exactly these words that makes
him able to kill Kurtz in the end. Kurtz is the captain in Walt Whitman s poem Oh
Captain! My Captain! Willard is the soldier who lost his commander, but in this
scenario Willard is also the killer of the captain. It is Kurtz own words who leads to
his death, and this he is aware of.
Through the main character Captain Willard, we are shown the different physical
and mental states of a soldier during war. In the end, we are told what it takes to win
a war, and how bravery is not based in good ethics, but in will and
How Being Confident Helps You Overcome Poverty Essay
What it takes to be the best People are losing the will to push past the obstacles in
their lives. When things get hard, they decide to throw in the towel and call it quits.
Finding that power within to survive during what could be some of the hardest times
in someone s life can be difficult. People need to see other people continuing to push
when they have nothing left to give. Who is going to be the personto choose to
survive instead of giving in? Resilience and an inner drive are key to surviving. With
resilience a survivor can push past hardships. Choosing to continue when things get
hard is choosing to not give in to the struggles one has come to. When someone is

The article How Being Confident Helps you Overcome Poverty states that, If you
ve failed again and again in school, relationships, in jobs you carry a great burden
as you try to pick yourself up and perform well in education or at work (Shipler).
The situation does not need to be a life changing challenge for someone to want to
get past it. Failing many times can have a negative impact on someone and can
cause someone to give up easier. Being resilient is key in facing the hardships in
one s life. In the novel Miracle in the Andes by Nando Parrado, the survivors of the
plane crash have to find resilience to survive day by day. When a group of three
people from the crash leave the fuselage Nando finds it difficult to keep going. He
says, The world was showing me how tiny I was, how weak and insignificant. And
temporary. I listened to my own breathing, reminding myself that as long as I drew
breath I was alive (Parrado 195). It can be hard to keep going when it feels the
world is twisting over itself but those are the times when pushing to one s limit is
even more important. A survivor feels like they accomplished so much more when it

  • 2. Absurdity In The Stranger World Literature Ms. Megan Wall Jin Woo Lee September 23, 2015 The Stranger Essay: Topic One The Stranger, written by a famous French philosopher Albert Camus, tells a story of a young Algerian man, Meursault, who perceives his life, values, behavioural norms differently from other people in his society. Throughout the course of the rest of the novel, readers can easily notice Meursault as a detached and indifferent character who shows difficulty in expressing his emotions. However, by characterising Meursault in such ways, Camus indirectly challenges the society s conventional moral standards and brings up the idea of absurdism philosophy. By describing the actions of Meursault and minor characters, Camus successfully conveys ideas such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This idea is clearly shown in part one when Meursault describes Raymond s encounter with the policeman after the beating incident. Meursault describes, right then the cop slapped him a thick, heavy smack right across the face ; this quote clearly shows that concept of justice is flawed in this society because although people criticises Raymond for hitting his mistress and calls the act immoral, they deem the cop s action to be moral (36). Physically, both violence are nearly the same, yet one is regarded as wrong, and the other, is justified. Through Meursault s interaction with the policeman, Camus implicitly challenges the truth of society s accepted moral order and the concept of justice. In addition, the trial scene in part 2 of the novel also conveys this theme. Although Meursault s act of murder is a serious crime, it seems as if the magistrate and the juries are not judging Meursault for his murder, but for his indifferent behaviour toward Maman s death because the latter explanation makes more sense to them. For example, when the magistrate gives his closing statement, Meursault describes it was then that he talked about my attitude toward Maman. It went on much longer than when he talking about my crime (100). In addition, the magistrate claims that Meursault s indifferent reaction over Maman s death threatens the moral
  • 3. The Advantages And Disadvantages Of The Linear Bus Topology The Linear Bus Topology has all of the nodes connected to on single connection medium which has two end points. This type of set up has multiple advantages, such as it is easy to set up, it requires the least amount of cables, low cost, and it is used for small LAN s. The distributed Bus Topology is a more complicated version of a Bus network. Unlike the Linear Bus, the Distributed Bus has more than two end points. This setup starts out looking like the linear bus with a main trunk cable that is referred to as the root or head end. Multiple network nodes can be connected to this main trunk line. The trunk cable branches off by a connector on the main trunk. This type of Bus topology has more disadvantage than the linear bus topology. The intersecting... The central device, which was a hub when the star network first came out, then broadcasts the transmission out to all of the connected devices. This set up reduces the chance of a network failure because if one node goes down, the network will still be up and operational. However, if the central device goes down, then the entire network will go down. The use of hubs has been removed from modern day networks because they are essentially dumb devices. Since the hub will forward information to every device that is connected to it, the chances of a collision occurring is pretty high. A switch will learn the MAC address of the systems that is connected to it. Once a switch has learned the MAC addresses of the systems that are connected, it will send information that is intended for that system only to the port that the system is connected to. This smart filtering that the switch performs drastically helps to eliminate collisions on the star network. The star topology is the most popular choice of networks due the easiness of setup and the lower costs of equipment. The star network can use twisted pair, fiber, or coaxial cable as its network

  • 5. Technology And Social Media Has Changed Our Lives What does technology mean to you? I believe that technology is a tool that should be integrated into our society to cultivate the future and resemble the past; it has become such an integral part of our community today that living without it creates a feeling of loneliness. Technology and Social Media has brought power back to people (Mark McKinnon). Nowadays, technology has exceeded expectations of people, such as a robot can mow a lawn, clean house, take you to parts of the world without even visiting, is mesmerizing. I am one of the many students who did not get an early exposure to technology, and I repent that every day, as they say, that a child can learn, however many things he wants until seven years of age because his mind is an... A computer science faculty and a graduate student at the University of Georgia, Karen Aguar, has created a website called SAIL, which integrates the different subjects across the UGA campus. The website is designed to track your progress, watch pre made videos on the topics, do exercises on based on your interest. Partaking in this new research, I have realized that the future of technology driven education is improving and it is created to adapt to student s interest. As Marc Prensky stated, Technology would be introduced from the start as a thinking extender through tools like simulation that show students the consequences of their actions in a variety of contexts and circumstances. In addition, the use of technology has made a great impact on students not only in America but worldwide. The results that Khan Academy has produced by collaborating with the College Board for SAT studying and videos is astonishing. The College Board president states, if a student watches videos through Khan Academy for 20 hours, then, he can score 115 average points higher than the student studying through the books. • 6. Passing, By Nella Larsen Mariem Kakeh Prof. Kangyl Ko English 63 10 October 6, 2015 Midterm Essay Passing, by Nella Larsen Passing, by Nella Larsen is a novel all about pretending to be something that you are not. It is about giving everyone the impression that everything is in order when in reality everything is falling apart. Passing in this novel refers to the ability of a person to be classified as one thing, normally a social group, while belonging to a different group. Passing is usually done to gain class or acceptance by groups other than one s own. The primary focus of the novel is on racial passing which is the ability to look white and belong to a white group when in reality the person is an African American in order to gain privileges that were unavailable to them. Although racial passing is the main focus, another major theme in this novel is sexual passing and identity. Sexual passing refers to a person s ability to be judged or viewed as a heterosexual person but in reality they are homosexual or bisexual. This was a masked theme in the novel because in the early 1900 s, homosexuality was not something that was accepted. Larsen made it aware that these were real problems in those times without coming out directly and saying it. The main plot of Passing focuses on two light skinned black women, Irene Redfield and her old time friend Clare Kendry. Both women can pass as white women. Irene who is married to a successful African American doctor, passes only when it is
  • 7. Target Essay Ads and commercials are on everything from the billboards you see going down the highway to the ads you hear on the radio or TV. Every company uses them in different ways to try to appeal to different audiences. Whether it s the older generations or the parents of newborn babies, all companies try to appeal to people in order to sell their products. Target is a department store that has been around since 1962 and they have grown and prospered ever since the beginning. Target is a branch off of the Dayton Dry Goods Company started in 1902 by George Draper Dayton. Throughout the years the store evolved and adapted until they eventually created the Target we know today in 1962. The first store opened May 1, 1962, in the city of Roseville... Men are more likely to make a list and stick to and try to get in and out of class as fast as possible. Women, however, are more likely to browse the aisles and look at everything that s in the store rather than just what they need for themselves or the house at that moment (Wells). Target shows the variety of items in their stores to help show the women in their store that different items that they could find while browsing the store. By showing the different products, it helps make the women want to go there because they can get away from the busyness of life by spending times wondering the isles of Target. Not only can the women get away from the stressfulness of life, if they are in a rush they can get everything they could need in one stop. Women make up over two thirds of the grocery shoppers (Goodman). Of course, not all of these women are staying at home mom s or spouses so they need to get their shopping done so that they can get back to the other parts of their lives. The same way that Target is trying to appeal to women who like to browse when they shop, they are appealing to those who need to get their shopping done in one quick stop. When showing all the grocery items along with beauty products it allows the women to realize that they can get everything they need for their
  • 8. Medical Marijuana And Medical Therapy Medical marijuana refers to the use of cannabis as medical therapy in the palliative sense to treat diseases or alleviate symptoms. This treatment modality has proven to be a highly debatable issue within the medical field due to the use of this substance as an illicit drug. The National Youth Risk Behavior Survey monitors priority health risk behaviors that contribute to the leading causes of death, disability, and social problems among youth and adults in the United States (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2012). The most recent survey conducted on ninth through twelfth grade students in public and private schools throughout the United States indicated that in 2011, a mean of 39.9% of participants reported ever using marijuana one or more times during their lives (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2012). Although this substance has been most often used for recreational purposes, recent studies have shown that an increasing number of people are fighting to have legislation passed in order for the use medicinal marijuana to be made legal. The populations most affected by such legislation include those positively affected by the use of medical marijuana, patients suffering from chronic and debilitating illnesses, and those who utilize the drug for other reasons associated with recreation and personal pleasure. The issue highlights the beneficial aspect of marijuana use detailing symptom management and improving overall quality of life; and conversely,

  • 12. The Discourse On The Origin Of Inequality By Juis Rousseau Jean Jacques Rousseau is known as one of the most influential Enlightenment and French Revolution philosophers of the eighteenth century. In 1749, Rousseau read a copy of a newspaper, The Mercure de France that contained an advert for an essay contest asking readers if recent advances in the arts and sciences were making the world a better place. Rousseau s published response, A Discourse on the Sciences and Arts, argued that civilization and progress had not improved people, but instead, corrupted their virtue and morality. It was this discourse that brought Rousseau fame and the foundation to write a second discourse, The Discourse on the Origin of Inequality. In his second dissertation, Rousseau argued that humans are naturally good,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, as man continued to move further and further away from the animal condition and more towards progress and civilization, man became less free. Rousseau states that the first person who, having enclosed a plot of ground, thought of saying this is mine and found people simple enough to believe him was the true founder of civil society (91). As a result of the creation of establishments and institutions of property, men created laws and the creation of laws created inequality among people. Rousseau stated that the only thing natural man cared about was survival. Additionally, natural man did not have possessions and therefore, there was nothing that could trigger envy or jealousy. Competition did not exist. However, civilization has corrupted humans. Today, man cares a lot about power and reputation. Rousseau states that, . . . the savage lives within himself; sociable man, always outside himself, knows how to live only in the opinion of others, and it is from their judgment alone that he, so to speak, derives the feeling of his own existence (117). He continues by stating that, . . . everything becomes fabricated and staged honor, friendship, virtue, and often even the vices themselves, which men ultimately discover the secret of boasting about . . . (117). In other words, man has not only moved further away from animal condition but from oneself.

Discipline Is Vital To Parenting In Ray Bradbury s The Veldt Discipline is Vital to Parenting In today s society, parents that do not discipline their children are perceived as nonchalant, or carefree. Ray Bradbury, an acclaimed writer, disagrees with this concept. Instead, Bradbury would say that discipline is a vital component of parenting, and without it, children will commit awful acts. With the use of foreshadowing and allusion in his short story, The Veldt , Bradbury depicts that a lack of discipline leads to horrendous, potentially deadly consequences. Bradbury foreshadows the parents fatal deaths to develop the repercussions they face for not disciplining Wendy and Peter. For instance, after the Hadleys have dinner, the parents head to the nursery and find George s old wallet with drops of saliva and blood smears on both sides (Bradbury 8). The disturbing state George and Lydia find the wallet in hints that something is wrong with the nursery and that the virtual animals can affect real life objects. Bradbury also adds the following dialogue between the parents: Those screams they sound familiar. Do they? Yes, awfully (9). The two screams Mr. and Mrs. Hadley heard were strikingly familiar because they were their own screams, hinting that the children wanted them dead and that the lions in the nursery were going to kill them. Throughout The Veldt , the parents hardly discipline their children, or care for them, causing the children to despise them and develop a rotten character. Had the parents properly ruled

Even throughout power struggles, Putin had been able to prevail. What does Putin have to attribute to his rise in power, was it luck or strategy? Well according to the rhetoric of Gerschewski, there isn t simply one solid reason or force behind the stability of an autocratic regime. Gerschewski wrote, Today s autocracies cannot rely (at least in the long term) entirely on their abuse of powerin a strictly hierarchal, pyramid shaped political order as the unconstrained tyrants of the past from whom all of the power is derived might have done (Gerschewski, 2013, pg. 7). Moreover, Gerschewksi suggests that autocracies rely on three pillars rather than one sole concept. The three pillars include, Legitimation, Repression, and Co optation. Within the article he placed emphasis on observing three processes that take place within and between the pillars in an effort to properly explain the stabilization processes (Gerschewski, 2013, pg. 12). The two pillars that seem to be the strongest in the case of Russia s regime, are repression and co optation. The weakest pillar, hence would be legitimation. This isn t to say that legitimation wasn t or isn t at play. As had been mentioned previously, the pillars within the stabilization process are built over time, and include three processes necessary for observation. Legitimation serves the function of gaining support

These differences are a very important part of understanding and appreciating the culture and history behind the specific religion. However, the practices that certain religions have in common can aid even more in furthering the understanding of specific beliefs of other religions. Since most religions cultivate from the practices and beliefs of other religions, they use those core values and beliefs and transform them into what they believe is a better way practicing. Religions use similarities within each other and twist them into their own. There are certain beliefs within every religion that shape their practices such as their morals or their most essential or absolute value, their position on human beings problems and solutions, and their view on life and death within their religion. Pure Land Buddhism (a form of Mahayana Buddhism) and Vaishnavites (a group within Hinduism) are great examples of this very concept. When the son tells the story he reveals that to develop is not necessarily a good thing, three weeks after the last load of mules is taken, one of the tractors overturns on a hill down by the river and nearly kills one of the hands (3). As soon as the town drove all the mules out and replaced them with tractors it backfired a helper was almost killed. The son then goes on to say it is not an unexpected tragedy (3), alluding that the father and grandfather did not really want to progress but had to, and foresaw bad things to occur. This quote can also be a parallel to the family as the son was an acciden, , one that could have been predicted since there is no love in the family. The grandfather drives the help to the hospital and on his way home there was a car crash, upon seeing his son (the father) he says: Son, you re gonna see a future I can t even stretch my mind around. Not any of it. I can t even begin to imagine (4). The grandfather is scared of the future and doubtful of the progress that is happening, right after the father tells him he is going to have a child, another tragedy that day. Both accidents demonstrate to them that progress is not always bettering the state of ones life; the mule killers almost killed someone, and, similarly, starting a new generation in the family was a mistake. Issue one: climate change Environmental agencies focus on fossil fuels as the big bad baddy of greenhouse gas emissions leading to global warming, suggesting alternative energy, carpooling, hybrid cars, and biking, but animal agriculture accounts for more carbon dioxide per year than all transportation methods combined. A conservative 2006 study by the United Nations food and agricultural study placed animal agriculture at 7,516 million tons per year or 18% of annual global green house gas emissions with a far more thorough 2009 WorldWatch Institute study taking into account overlooked livestock respiration, land use, methane and other oversights of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations with the ultimate outcome of at least 32,564 million tons of carbon dioxide per year coming from animal agriculture. That s 51 percent of all global emissions compared to the 13 percent of all combined transportation. And what do the environmental agencies point to? Reducing fossil fuel usage. If we completely stopped all use of gas, oil, fuel, electricity et cetera, and never used them ever again, we would still exceed our carbon equivalent greenhouse gas emissions of 565 gigatons by the year 2030 just with the impact of livestock alone. [10][11] So not using fossil fuels at all, which would be the wet dream of every environmental agency, we re still gassing out the planet with the one contributor the main contributor which they refuse to even address. The 2 stranded helix is composed of 4 nucleotides, Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Guanine (G), and Cytosine (C). The base pairs only form between A and T connected by 2 Hydrogen bonds and G and C connected by 3 hydrogen bonds. Foremost DNAwrapping comes about as DNA wraps around protein called histones. These combined loops of DNA and protein are called nucleosomes and the nucleosomes are packaged into a thread called chromatin. Chromosomes are made up of packaged chromatin and can be seen in the nucleus of dividing cells and form around DNA replication. Furthermore, DNA replication begins with 2 DNA strands being separated by the helicase enzyme. Single stranded DNA binding proteins attach to these strands to keep them from re connecting. 1 DNA strand begins to encode called the leading strand, which Forms from 5 to 3 end using DNA polymerase 3 the primary polymerase. The other strand is referred to as the lagging strand, which presents problems because it has to form from the 5 to 3 end as well. As continuous replication of the leading strand continues the lagging strand forms in pieces called Okazaki fragments. RNA primase forms as RNA primer and polymerase III lay down new DNA. This process repeats again and again. DNA polymerase I replaces RNA primers with DNA and DNA ligase links the Okazaki fragments. Along with the process of DNA

The harsh penalizations through the use of Capital Punishment should not be utilized in our judicial system. For the past 50 years, there have been questions asked about one issue that we just cannot get on board with. The idea of killing citizens had started to weigh heavily on the conscience of humans. The debate on whether capital punishmentshould be a penalty or not for those convicted of capital offenses remains one of the most controversial issues in our country. This debate has stemmed from whether capital punishment is a violation of the eighth amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The Eighth amendment states excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted (amend. XIII, sec.3). This amendment entails that no inhumane, excessive, or unusual punishments should be inflicted upon a person as a penalty of the violation of law (amend. XIII, sec. 3). This amendment questions the issues of The Death Penalty; it is used less over the years, so why do we keep it around as a safety net, and so called Deterrent, or to satisfy our own the idea of justice for the people (Alfano). Another factor that has stimulated around the debate about capital punishment is the number of wrongful convictions of those subjected to capital punishment. According to
